In short

NFL roster and quarterback decisions (Titans waiving Will Levis; Vikings keeping four QBs including Kyler Murray; Giants keeping Odell Beckham Jr.); plus Memphis coach Charles Huff banning music in practice.

Guest backgrounds

The episode is hosted by Joe (often “Uncle Joe”) and Ocho (“Uncle Ocho”); they discuss football as analysts/commentators. No formal guest list appears in the transcript beyond the hosts.

Key claims

  • Titans waived Will Levis due to repeated ball-security mistakes (late fumbles/turnovers), not just arm talent.
  • Vikings keeping Kyler Murray, Carson Wentz, J.J. McCarthy, and another QB suggests limited confidence in Murray’s health and/or a reluctance to admit draft mistakes.
  • OBJ making the Giants 53-man roster matters because he can still separate and create “flashes,” even if he’s not the same full-season target.
  • Memphis banning music is framed as a coach’s control/discipline choice, with debate over whether it helps preparation.

Notable examples

  • Levis 2024 stat line: 2,091 yards, 13 TD, 12 INT; missed 2025 after right-shoulder surgery.
  • Vikings: McCarthy missed seven games last year; 9/17 for 115 yards in preseason.
  • OBJ: 7 catches, 76 yards in preseason; Giants coach John Harbaugh said he’d have to earn it.

The Tennessee Titans have waived Miracle Whip Will Levis. Lewis Levis posted 2 ,091 yards, 13 touchdowns, 12 interceptions back in 2024, the last time he took the field.

2:52Shannon Sharpe:The Tennessee Titans finished 3-13 that year, a record which landed them the top pick, which was Cam Ward. He missed the entire 2025 season after opting for surgery on his right shoulder before training camp, landing him on injury reserve. Levis was the 33rd overall pick in the 2023 draft. The Titans landed the number 41st overall pick and the 72nd overall pick in the third round in 2023 and 2024. And the third round pick to move up to selected. Oh, Joe, let me go to you swing it to you first. Is this a situation where the NFL teams not having patience on a player? Did they give up too soon on Will Levis?

3:31Shannon Sharpe:Well, I mean, you got Cam Ward. Okay, Ocho, I mean, if that's your franchise quarterback, hell, you ain't finna put too much stock in no backup, are you? You know? I mean, so you're not surprised that considering how he played his rookie year that it ended up getting him a – and then, look, they felt that the quarterback was a position of need, even though they had traded all that draft capital to move up to take him at the first pick of the second round, excuse me. No, it didn't work out. Look, you got Cam Ward who's coming. You got to see what he can got. I mean, see what he can do. Give him a couple years.

4:08Shannon Sharpe:But I just can't see him playing in Tennessee, playing behind Cam Ward. He's a young guy who's probably going to be very durable for the next couple years. And, man, if you're Tennessee, bro, that's where all your eggs lay at. And Cam Ward, hopefully he can come through and be a franchise player. This man, you know Will Levin said there ain't 32 quarterbacks better than him? He ain't lie. Did he really? it's 50 he ain't 32 is 50 a question there for you on Ojo y 'all think he gonna get an opportunity somewhere yeah

4:41Joe Johnson:oh absolutely yeah he getting picked up absolutely getting picked up you know a change of scenery is always good I'm not sure wherever the scenery is that he does go he won't have the opportunity to be a starter but he have the opportunity to be a backup and he could be a damn good backup for a very long time in this NFL and make very good money doing so

4:59Shannon Sharpe:yeah because in the situation Ojo with the practice squad? Yeah. Somebody bring him in, put him on the practice squad. Say, hey, we're developing brick on the mechanics, get him to make better decisions. The problem that I had is that he made the same mistake, Ocho, the same mistake week after week, Joe, late with the outlaw, not holding on to the football. So coaches are going to look at you like, son, one or two things are happening. Either we're doing a terrible job of coaching you or you just having a terrible job of understanding what we're trying to coach. Coaches don't really want to take the blame and say, but how can you make the same?

5:37Shannon Sharpe:I mean, it was like three, four weeks in a row, Ocho, we tried, came out here, I was like, bro, last week you got picked up. And the coach said, son, I told you last week not to do that. And I'd be damned if you ain't did it again.

5:50Joe Johnson:Hey, points are the premium in the NFL, especially when you're young, especially when you have a team where you're really not that good. so you got to take care of that ball you don't take care of the ball you don't have that type of offense you don't have that type of defense that can save the day and you put him behind a ball constantly yes for sure hey and what's hard as a coach is if you got a player that continues

6:13Shannon Sharpe:to make the same mistake over and over and oh hey man i don't even know how to help you know the mo you know i mean like you've gotten your opportunities we've talked about it we've watched film and you continue to make the same mistakes yeah man they're gonna get tired of uh tap you on your shoulder and tell you, hey, look, son. You know what I mean? Yes. It's either we're doing a horrible job of teaching or you're doing a horrible job of comprehending or you just say F it. He's just not it. Yes. And eventually they're going to come to the realization because coach is like, you know what? Just like most things, self-preservation, I'd rather you go than I go.

6:54Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.

6:54Joe Johnson:I do. Hey, players get coaches fired. Absolutely. Especially at that position.

7:00Shannon Sharpe:He played just good enough, Ocho, to get himself cut and the coach fired. That's a lose-lose. Yeah. But I just – I mean, you look at the mistakes in chat. We talked about this. Ocho, we talked about this in 24. I'm like, bro, Callahan was losing his damn mind because he said, son, we just went over this. You did the same thing. Either he was throwing the pick or he was fumbling the ball and getting hit and scooping score. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Oh, his arm, his arm. Well, I can't get a chance to see his arm. He hit the other guys right between the numbers. So, yeah, he got a pretty good arm. He's pretty accurate.

7:34Shannon Sharpe:Throw it to the other team.

7:37Joe Johnson:When you talk about arm talent, he got arm talent, boy. Joe, he can sling it. It's all the other measurables that come in. The game is one up here, Joe. You can have all that throwing and you can run and scrambling and all that. All that's good. But, man, you got to beat your opponent up here, man.

7:55Shannon Sharpe:Especially at the quarterback. quarterback position is too valuable.

7:59Joe Johnson:Got to be the smartest one.

8:00Shannon Sharpe:I'm not surprised by this.

8:08Shannon Sharpe:They got Mitchell Trubisky, who was the second pick in the draft. He had an okay stand in Chicago. They were never happy because they bypassed Deshaun Watson. They bypassed Patrick Mahomes. They bypassed a lot of quarterbacks. And I just didn't understand the Mitchell Trubisky pick. I didn't. for the simple fact is that if you look at what he was in college, Deshaun outplayed him in college. Yeah. North Carolina, right? Trubisky winning North Carolina. They were in the same conference. So I'm sure, and they're right down the road. So if you scouting one, you probably drive on down, drive on up, excuse me, to North Carolina and check out Trubisky and Chapel Hill.

8:48Shannon Sharpe:Ain't no way. whoever graded Mitchell Trubisky, hired a Deshaun Watson, they probably should be fired. They probably got fired. And I think these scouts, too, excuse me, I think these scouts, too, Uncle Ocho, you can overanalyze. You can do too damn much when it comes to analyzing these kids. I mean, you look at the eye test, it'll tell you, look, man, hey, that man got another gear or he got it. It mean, I don't know what the hell it is, but he got it. You know what I mean? And I think in college, Deshaun showed that. Mr. Biscay, obviously, I think they were going off that strong arm that he had.

9:26Shannon Sharpe:You know, that's all they were talking about, him coming into the draft. But it didn't pan out, bro. What did they say, Ocho? His ceiling is higher. Yeah. What if he can't hit his head on the ceiling?

9:38Joe Johnson:They love that word.

9:40Shannon Sharpe:There's just so much. And when you put more talent, you got to look at the talent that Deshaun had around him and yada, yada, yada, yada. Okay. But what happens when you're a guy and you put better talent around him and he still can't reach the ceiling? Then what? All I know is Deshaun took Clemson to the national championship and he took down Coach Saban and he had him on the ropes. Both games he won one and he lost one. That's what I know. Yeah. If you beat those Alabama teams back then and Alabama was loaded, This was, well, Alabama always had an NIL program. But anyway, y 'all know what I'm talking about.

10:24Shannon Sharpe:But no, I'm not surprised. I'm not surprised that Will Levitt got waved and they're going to move in a different direction. And Trubisky is the number two quarterback. When you're moving like I do, trips don't always come together weeks in advance. Sometimes production shoots, interviews, or something I've got to travel for on a short notice, like the time when I had the last minute trip to Denver. and everything came together fast. Once it was locked in, I had to be ready to go. That's where Amazon Prime can make a difference. When something comes together quickly, you can get what you need, like grooming essentials, neck pillows, eye masks, even snacks for the flights, so you're ready to show up for it.

11:02Shannon Sharpe:With same-day delivery, all those items show up on time and still make the trip, so you can show up and focus on why you're there and not everything around it. Because at that point, it's not just about getting there, It's about making the most of the opportunity in front of you. That's what I like about Prime. It makes easy to say yes when the moment shows up. Same day delivery. It's on Prime. Available in select areas. Terms apply. Visit Amazon.com slash Prime to find millions of items delivered fast. It's the one with the red cap and the little baby on the bottle.

12:21You've probably seen it in the grocery store before. And if you've ever just walked past it, some people would say that's a huge mistake. Because this mayo is different. Most mayonnaise uses whole eggs. Kewpie only uses egg yolks, which gives it this rich umami flavor. It's smoother, deeper, and almost buttery. Once people try it, they start putting it on everything. Egg sandwiches, fries, burgers. Some fans even swear by dipping pizza crust in it. And once you notice it, you start seeing it everywhere. Chefs use it. Restaurants use it. People who really care about flavor use it. Never tried it?

14:06Joe Johnson:Oh, yeah.

14:07Shannon Sharpe:Hold on. This was a surprise to me. The Minnesota Vikings will be keeping all four quarterbacks, including Kyler Murray, Carson Wentz, Max Baltimore, and J.J. McCarthy. McCarthy, who missed seven games last year due to multiple injuries, completed nine of 17 passes for 115 yards, took two sacks in the preseason. Ocho, are you surprised they're keeping both quarterbacks?

14:28Joe Johnson:I think there's one other team that kept four quarterbacks as well. Hey, Joe, I'm not sure why they did. Obviously, Kyler Murray is going to be our starter. Carson Wentz is going to be our number two. and I'm assuming they didn't want to cut someone. They didn't want to cut someone. They didn't want to let J.J. McCarthy walk too soon. He's not the safety valve. He's not your security blanket. Your security blanket is Carson Wentz. So I'm not sure why they kept four quarterbacks. I think I don't want to say a bad look. They don't want to say, oh, we made a mistake, especially in letting J.J. McCarthy go already.

15:00Joe Johnson:If I'm not mistaken, this is just his third year, huh, Joe? I think so, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I think it's just his third year. I don't think they want to come up off him just yet, even though he's still not going to be the starter, let alone second string. So I really have no clue, you know, what went in the decision in keeping him outside of, we don't want to look like we made such a huge mistake drafting him that early. He was the seventh or eighth pick, if I'm not mistaken, in the first round. Hell, just two years ago.

15:27Shannon Sharpe:Does this tell you, Ocho, that maybe they don't have a lot of faith in Kyler Murray? Nah. Keeping four quarterbacks, bro, that ain't normal?

15:39Joe Johnson:It's not normal, but they got faith in Kyler Murray.

15:42Shannon Sharpe:Why do you keep four quarterbacks if you got faith?

Read the full transcript

15:46Joe Johnson:Listen, keeping four quarterbacks had nothing to do with Kyler because he's still sitting behind Carson Wentz. No. Absolutely not. And I hate using, I don't like saying sources, but, you know, Kyler Murray, you're going to be willing to do it. I don't know. You know, I love to talk to my receivers, my number ones on every team. But what y 'all looking like, boy? Hey, we gonna be straight. We gonna be good. And it's not that politically correct, we gonna be good. It's like, yeah, I'm gonna be back to my old self. So I'm looking forward to 18, being 18 again.

16:24Shannon Sharpe:Jealous. I agree with Joe. What? They don't have faith in Murray. How? What's been his MO in Arizona, Ocho? Too small injuries. Oh, stay healthy. Yeah, injuries. So that's why we keep four quarterbacks. Yeah.

16:45Shannon Sharpe:Plus, I don't want to run the risk. If I release Bozmer, somebody's going to sign him, Ocho. Yeah. He played too well for us in the preseason. Right. All things being equal, they probably kick the tires around and see if somebody was willing to trade for J.J. McCarthy. That's what I would have done. See the hardest thing the biggest mistake that I think a lot of teams not just in pro sports but a lot of times won't admit I made a mistake. It's okay. People make mistakes. You choose the wrong spouse. You choose the wrong girlfriend. You choose the wrong job. They choose the wrong employee. It happens.

17:29Shannon Sharpe:But you exacerbate a situation when you refuse to admit that you've made said mistake and you stay in it. Yeah. You know after a while they don't mean you no good and you don't mean them any good. And you still won't let it go. Right.

17:45Joe Johnson:Come on now. Take your time.

17:47Shannon Sharpe:It's not working out. It's not working out. I would rather, and I've always been this way, I would rather let a person, if you and I are not working out, I'd rather you go somewhere and be happy than stay here and we both miserable. You know we miserable. Yeah. That's me. Yeah. Let's go. Go on and be happy. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. What we thought, and normally it's hard for a relationship to start out contentious. Normally they start out in good terms. But for whatever reason, halfway down the road look we going on a trip oh everything started out good i done gassed the car up and i got everything tuned up and ready to go and get a flat tire okay everything started out it was great the dates were great we were fun you know you was hanging from the chandelier everything was great had had had the ocho package yeah the thing was just laid out yeah I had an ultra fun package.

18:52Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. But whatever reason, for whatever reason, it worked. Damn. It's okay. People are just, you know what it is? People are so afraid to admit when they wrong. Yeah, I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Especially in professional sports. Yeah, man. Hey, hey, hey, hey. It's rare. If you're wrong, that don't make you no bad brother.

19:17Joe Johnson:They don't, they don't. But I know one thing, and GMs don't want to look like they make the wrong choice. It happens from time to time, though, Ocho.

19:24Shannon Sharpe:I think they're human. You know what I mean? And you can't take that element from them, bro. Like, you're going to make some bad picks from time to time. Hell, you may not be the best developer when it comes to, let's say, a quarterback or a wide receiver or whatever the case may be. But at the same time, man, when you look – like I always talk about that eye test. When you see it and you've been with a guy, a guy been with you two, three years, man, he ain't got it, bro. Yeah, we got to move on. We got to move on. There's too much talent coming into the draft every year, coming to the NFL every year for us to continue to have to deal with subpar talent.

20:03Shannon Sharpe:You look at J.J. McCarthy and Josh Rosen. Both guys came out early. Rosen came out of UCLA. I think he was UCLA. McCarthy Michigan I think they're both 10th pick in the draft

20:25Shannon Sharpe:The Eagles kept four quarterbacks Steelers kept four quarterbacks The Vikings kept four The Browns kept four Three of the possible Because they put Gabriel On the hour He doesn't need to return Yeah.

20:49Shannon Sharpe:Hurts, McKee, Dalton, Payton, Rogers, Rudolph, Howard, Murray, McCarthy, Wentz, Bozmer. And he had Watson, Sanders, Green. Billy Gabriel went to IR with designated for return. Hey, what did they do with LeTaylon Green? What did they end up doing with him? He was on the active roster. Oh, is he? Yeah. you made a 53 damn they seen that talent that boy got his head hey

21:18Joe Johnson:hey it's something we can work with hey it might be like a little Terrell Pryor situation huh

21:25Shannon Sharpe:you think they gonna put him at that try and make a receiver Ocho I mean listen the more you can do quarterback and receiver look we like what we have with this kid right here he's just wrong Didn't play a whole lot of college football, Joe. Let's get him in here. Let's get him in the system. Let's coach him up. Let's work with him. He'll get an opportunity to take a lot of reps with the scout team. That's how he's going to get better because he's not going to get many reps with the ones. He's not going to take any offense with the offense that's going to go out there and play on Sundays. His reps are going to come with the scout team.

22:02Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. And so that's when he works on his game. That's when he works on his footwork. That's when he tries to get better. Be very attentive in meeting. Make sure you take copious notes. Do everything that you need to do in order to get better. Show them that you're trying to improve. Don't be complacent like, oh, I'm on the team now. I'm going to bull jive around. No, let them know that you take this thing serious. You appreciate the opportunity that they gave you, and now I'm going to take full advantage of this opportunity. Yeah, yeah. But, no, I think Murray's history, Ocho, him being that size and not being able to stay healthy, because it cost him his job last year.

22:42Shannon Sharpe:He got hurt. Remember, he tore his ACL, and then he had shoulder problems. So you're asking an awful lot. This is a physical game. Yes. This is a violent game. This isn't a contact sport. This is a collision sport. People collide. They don't make contact. They collide. Things break when you collide. When you run into high rate of speed, bodies what made the running into each other, that's high rate of speed. Eventually something gives. And the smaller running into bigger?

23:21Shannon Sharpe:You're right. You're right. OBJ made the 53-man Giants roster. John Harbaugh said the former Pro Bowl receiver would have to earn his spot, and he did just that. Beckham had seven catches for 76 yards this preseason. Oh, Joe, are you happy to see OBJ? Can he still be himself at 33?

23:41Joe Johnson:Absolutely. Even at 33, it all comes down to opportunities, I'm going to joke. You know, we talk about a player that's had two ACL injuries, but he's come back. We know what he can do. Even if he's not Odell of old, even if he's not, you know, he still showed flashes that he can get open, he can separate, he can catch the ball, you know. So I think having that addition, who every so often, where the offense is not leaning on his shoulders to be productive, but those moments where he can be Odell Beckham Jr. would be good. It would be really, really good for them. I'm excited. I'm excited. Not only that, Uncle Joe, now you got to think.

24:20Joe Johnson:He hear all the naysayers. He hear all the chirps. He hear all the, oh, he's older now. He's not the same. You definitely don't think he want to come back and show he can still do it?

24:29Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. I think he's a totally different player from what he used to be. Uncle Ocho I think he takes the game a lot more serious considering the fact that football was taken away from him at some point. So when it's taken away from you and you don't get to go out on your own terms and you get a chance to come back and really try out and you make the team, I think it means a lot much more to him now at this stage and age in his career. And he's still shown flashes, bro, that he has the quickness. He can separate. He still has that elite speed. I think it's just over the course of a season, you know, how much are you going to depend on OBJ?

25:07Shannon Sharpe:But I'm happy to see him back with the Giants, bro. He's back in the NFC. He's going to have to take this L game one. But for the most part, you know, I'm happy for him, man.

25:18Joe Johnson:Hey, you know, hey, Joe, you know Odell is the Cowboys. No, no, no, no.

25:21Shannon Sharpe:I know he liked playing against the Cowboys. I know he liked to put on.

25:27Joe Johnson:I'm just making a show.

25:28Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.

25:28Joe Johnson:I'm just making a show. You know who else liked playing against the Cowboys, too? Malik Naples okay what you trying to say yeah oh I ain't trying to say no

25:39Shannon Sharpe:guess who we like playing against the damn Giants yeah that's who we like playing against yeah my bad my bad I think both of you guys make some compelling points I think the only thing is that once you start to bounce around you're out of the league and you come back in the league they don't look at you the same they don't believe you can make those same plays so they don't put you in positions where you can be a one or two. Yeah. Yeah. That's just how they... Because, Ocho, we had this conversation every year with DeAndre Hopkins. I said, Ocho, they're not going to put him in position to be the one.

26:17Shannon Sharpe:They're not going to put him in position to be the two. He'll get a ball here or there, and then he'll make a play. You're like, see, I told you you could do it, but that's not how they view it.

26:28Joe Johnson:I don't even think it's not how they view it It's just they understand it's the cycle of the game in general When you reach a certain age, you don't get those opportunities the same way Do you think if DeHop got the opportunities Let's say when he was a Baltimore If they threw him the ball The normal way they threw it to him at a high volume As if he was still with Houston He would still make those same plays He never forgot how to catch

26:48Shannon Sharpe:Nothing We just talked about You know what it is, Ocho? It's like your co-parent You don't view it the same way you once did. That's why you're not with her.

27:01Joe Johnson:Yeah, but I understand what you're saying, but I still think the way the system works, they play you out the system. Yes. There's nothing wrong with you individually. Think about this. Because they don't view him that way, Rojo.

27:14Shannon Sharpe:And you think the team that he was on, remember, where'd he go? He went to Kansas City. He was in Baltimore. He went, oh, he was in Tennessee. Do you think they view DeAndre Hopkins like the DeAndre Hopkins that was in Houston and his first year in Arizona? Do you think those other teams viewed him as that? So if they don't view him as that, because all I know is that's DeAndre Hopkins. The fan base is asking, why isn't he doing what he did in Houston in Arizona? Why isn't he doing that for us? Because they ain't getting him the opportunities.

27:50Joe Johnson:Oh, okay, there we go. Yes, because they don't do it for that. But even, I don't see it as that. I don't see it as that. I feel like always, if you look at receivers, and you look at their targets when they're in their prime, when they're doing extremely well, when they're scoring touchdowns, when they're getting all those yards, you look at the number of targets that they get. And as you go on, as you age, they work you out the system. They work you out the system. They just do. I don't really know how to explain it. I don't know how to put it into words, but it happens every single time. Was there anything wrong with Julio Jones?

28:21Joe Johnson:in Atlanta? No. No.

28:24Shannon Sharpe:He wanted out of Atlanta.

28:29Joe Johnson:He gets out of Atlanta and the opportunities, they're not the same. The system is not the same.

28:36Shannon Sharpe:What happened? He bounced around. Remember? He goes to Tennessee. He goes to Philly. He goes to Tampa. He is not the same. DeAndre Hopkins. He goes from Houston to Arizona, to Tennessee, to Kansas City to Baltimore. They don't view you the same once you start to bounce around because they say, well, if Ocho was the same, why is he on his third team in three years then? Yeah.

29:09Joe Johnson:Look, I'm not saying he couldn't perform. It's a game they play. Yes! It's a game they play. You hit 30, they start weed you out. they start weaning you out the opportunity listen the opportunity decrease the target decrease and the first thing they say is oh he's slowing down no them goddamn targets ain't coming the way they used to of course my number to take a hit of course they are and it happens to all the great receivers all of them always you are

29:36Shannon Sharpe:you're a general manager of a team you're a coach of a team you pay on a guy 30 million dollars you pay on a guy a million dollars which one you throw in the ball to wait they both on the team on the team. $30 million. Who's making the money for Baltimore? Who's making the money for Kansas City? Yeah. Bingo. That's what I mean. That's what I'm saying. We said the same thing. We just said it in different ways.

30:07Joe Johnson:In a different way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got you. I got you. I got you. Hey, listen. I'm glad you used that comparison, too. Yes. Cleveland Browns quarterback situation. Who making the money? Sean Watson. that uh

30:24Shannon Sharpe:yeah but uh yeah it's good to see obj and he just i think the thing is ocho is that he can't get frustrated because ocho uh obj is used to being on the field and now when they start the game he gonna start the field on the sideline yeah you think so wait a minute wait wait wait wait

30:42Joe Johnson:wait, wait. Okay. Malik neighbors. We got brother Slayton, right? Who's the number three? Chad, I know y 'all know. I don't have the depth chart. Yeah.

30:52Shannon Sharpe:You remember the, I think he was a third round pick out of Tennessee. Hey, Hey, Jalen high.

30:56Joe Johnson:He can fly boy. Went to Tennessee.

30:58Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hold up though. What? So is Malik neighbors going to be ready to start the season though? Look like it. Oh shoot. That's a good question. Hell he been playing. Didn't he play in the preseason?

31:11Joe Johnson:Uh-uh. I don't think so.

31:12Shannon Sharpe:He ain't playing in the preseason. Well, they hadn't put him on IR, and they hadn't put him on Pup. Does that mean he's opening the season then? I believe so.

31:25Joe Johnson:Ah, man, I can't believe it's football season. Oh, I'm so excited, man. Yeah.

31:30Shannon Sharpe:OBJ just, look, he wanted to go. But the thing is, Ocho, sometimes everybody had to find out the best, that the grass isn't greener on the other side. OBJ, he grew frustrated with the media and the attacks on his character, and he didn't want to be in New York anymore. Yeah. And you get that sometimes. Sometimes, you know, hey, you just got to bite the bullet because everybody always thinks it's better over there. Right. Hey. Why do you think the Hall get out the pen? Why do you think the enemy get out the pen? because they think it's better out there than it is in here. Man, look at all that grass.

32:09Shannon Sharpe:Man, look at – man, there's a little bit of grass right here. Man, I could be out there just tearing it up. So they wobble their ass out there, jump the fence, knock the post down, and then they come on out. That's how players are. Man, I'm looking at the other tight ends on children. I'm looking at the juggers, catch the ball, and say, man, I need to be over there. Yeah. They slay. Joe, you looking at a guy getting 18, 19 shots at night. Hey, Joe, you like, well, man, I ain't getting me nothing but like 12, 13 shots, man. Give me 18, 19, let me show you what I do with it. Hello, hello, hello.

32:43Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey, hey, hey, Joe.

32:45Joe Johnson:I just got, I just got a text message. Hey, Uncle, y 'all, you gon' be happy, man. What happened? You gon' be happy. You gon' have to stay at this little, this little wall back here no more, you know? You gon' be happy, they just landed, they just landed with all the materials from our - Oh, you finna get it done? Yeah, yeah, yeah. They just got in. They'll be here tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.

33:09Shannon Sharpe:How long will it take them to fix it?

33:11Joe Johnson:A week and a half. I sent you the rendering, so that's what it'll look like. I'll probably have to do a nightcap in the kitchen maybe for four or five days, I'm assuming.

33:23Shannon Sharpe:You about to be home. You about to be gone.

33:30Joe Johnson:When you leave? When you leave, Joe?

33:32Shannon Sharpe:I leave Friday morning, like 8 a.m. I get in super early.

33:39Joe Johnson:Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Hey, I'm excited, boy. Hey, y 'all going to like this. Y 'all ain't going to be able to make fun of me no more. I got my own. You got the Nike.

33:48Shannon Sharpe:You getting that Waffle House sign, getting that took down?

33:52Joe Johnson:Yeah, I'm going to take that down.

33:53Shannon Sharpe:I'm trying to look at that Joe back. I know, I know. I'm getting it right. I'm getting my little spot right. I'm getting it right. I'm getting it right. Oh, Joe, you doing the same thing? I'm rearranging some things, old Joe. Yeah.

34:06Joe Johnson:Okay, okay, okay, okay. I'm excited. I can't wait till the chat see this thing.

34:12Shannon Sharpe:I might have to spruce mine up there. Oh, man, come on, man. You got an Oscar Emmy Award winning hell background back there. Damn. I got a bunch of stuff going on back there. I do. Damn. I got a bunch of stuff. Hey, let me see my basketball back there one time. Let me see it one time. Pick it up for me. Joe, I got to move every time football too, Ocho. Yeah, yeah. Hey, Joe, you been practicing your shot? Don't worry about what I've been doing, partner. See, that's one thing about me, Ocho. I don't tell you. Just know, if me and you got a competition, don't worry about what I've been doing. Just know I'm going to be ready, okay?

34:53Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Joe, I'm just making sure you're ready, Joe. I see it.

34:56Joe Johnson:I see it. What did you say, Ocho? Hey, Unc, your hand placement ain't even right. You got to put your hand placed on the side of the ball. Unc got the ball like this.

35:06Shannon Sharpe:What are you talking about?

35:08Joe Johnson:You got to put your hand over this. Oh, somebody been teaching you, Unc, Joe. You been learning. Oh, okay. Now you got it right, Unc.

35:18Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to shoot that thing just like KD. I've been watching KD shoot another.

35:26Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe. I'll tell you one thing. and it's gonna be here for you on that one.

35:30Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Ocho, Ocho, hey, chat, I'm trying to keep it a secret. Ocho, after I wax your ass, boy, I'm gonna do something bad to Unk. I ain't gonna lie to you. I'm gonna do something.

35:38Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe, the funny thing about it, the funny thing about it, you ain't even gonna get past me. You ain't even gonna get past me.

35:49Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, did you get one, Ocho?

35:53Joe Johnson:Nah, ain't nobody. Hey, Unk, y 'all don't send me nothing, man. y 'all don't see me I don't get no gifts I don't get no no nothing I ain't get I don't get no awards Joe hey Joe I still got the same two awards from five years ago hell we win we win

36:08Shannon Sharpe:one last year but we I expect to win some this year though oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah absolutely we gotta get we gotta we gotta go we gotta wait before we get some more awards from uh from uh YouTube we gotta get to 10 million you don't get anything at 5 million you don't get something you to get the 10.

36:25Joe Johnson:Damn, we gotta get there. Hey, you know, hey, we can get to 10 million. How we gonna get there?

36:30Shannon Sharpe:It's gonna take a while.

36:31Joe Johnson:Hey, I got, hey, Joe, I got something we can do now to get us to 10 million. I'm down for anything but some BS. Okay, my bad. We ain't gonna take some BS to get to 10 million.

36:46Hey.

That's the reaction a lot of people are having when they first try Kewpie mayo. It's the one with the red cap and the little baby on the bottle. You've probably seen it in the grocery store before. And if you've ever just walked past it, some people would say that's a huge mistake.

38:43Because this mayo is different. Grab the bottle with the red cap next time you're at the store. Put it on just about anything. 40:18Shannon Sharpe:Memphis football practices do not include music. Why? According to head coach Charles Huff, when the Navy SEALs get ready to go on a mission, they're not listening to no little baby. They got their headphones on. They be listening to music, coach. Go ahead, Jocho. Time out.

40:32Joe Johnson:I'm glad who said. we do realize I don't remember the guy's actual name he talked about what he listened to when they were on the mission for when they were on the mission he was listening to I forgot the group's name come on man hey people have routines that they always follow especially when it comes to sports players individually listen to certain music certain genres of music to get themselves prepared for say a game to take that away as a head coach. Listen, it's his team. He can do what he wants to do, obviously, but everybody prepares different. You've got to evolve with the times and the type of players you have in today's era.

41:17Joe Johnson:Now, back in the days, you know, that's probably not what they did. Maybe, maybe not. I don't know. I've never heard this before. Every NFL team, every high school team, hell, the goddamn Little League, they come out with the damn speaker plan before every game. So I mean, that's him, that's his team. I just don't agree with it. I just, I don't agree with it. Why would you take that away from players to prepare themselves for a game? I mean -

41:43Shannon Sharpe:I'm with you, Ocho. I played in Miami under Pat Rowe. Y 'all know how a street patio. Boy, it's a concert every practice. You hear me? I'm talking about music blasting, Ocho. Hey, look, look, look. You gonna be putting some work in, but you gonna have some tunes you can bop to. You know what I mean? because I think as athletes, bro, music and entertainment, it goes together. You know what I mean? Like we listen to that music as we're in the weight room or whether we're on a practice court. It gives you that little extra off. You know what I mean? So I ain't with that neither, Ocho, man. Let these boys rock out.

42:20Shannon Sharpe:That's what we talk about. We talk about these old school coaches, bro, who ain't having all that. And now, hey, look, now if I'm a kid at Memphis, I'm like, damn, we can't even practice listening to Lil Baby, listen to look dirt because none of that we gotta oh man come on man good and and for those in the

42:37Joe Johnson:chat that that wanted to know uh retired navy seal robert o 'neill stated that he listened to the song red nation he listened to the song red nation by the game featuring lil wayne right before the 2011 raid on osama bin laden's compound yeah they do so he you he used a navy seal as a as as an example not knowing that before that mission. A lot of them do. That's exactly what they listen to.

43:02Shannon Sharpe:A lot of them have headsets on and they be listening to music, getting ready to go.

43:06Joe Johnson:You got to. It gets you in a zone. Yes, it does. But it's his team. I wish them nothing but success without listening to music. But it's hard. It's hard. A.A. Unka, Joe, before every game, I need to be nice and calm and relaxed. I done did all that talking. I don't need to hear no rap, none of that. I got my Frank Sinatra. I got my blues. I got my opera, my Pavarotti, my Michael Buble, you know, Harry Connick Jr. Because I need to go in the game nice and calm because I already know the head, hon. I don't need to be hype. Oh, no. Joe, I'm coming in there.

43:48Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, that's what I am. I'm low-key in it, too. I've got Maxwell. I got Sade. I got Michelle Diggel. That's what I'm listening to on the way. I can't get too high, because I already know, man. I'm going to pass out. You're going to gas out. You're going to gas out. Yep, I absolutely would.

44:05Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe, I need all my energy, boy. I ain't doing no aid.

44:10Shannon Sharpe:I need everything. I can't leave none of it in the locker room on the floor.

44:15Joe Johnson:At all. Joe, I ain't wearing no mouthpiece for a reason, Joe. Why? I got to talk. Once I get that first catch, Joe, and I settle in, or I get hit. It's a wrap.

44:28Shannon Sharpe:Boy, it's gonna be a long day. Without the Baltimore band, cause that's a mystical danger. Ooh. Oh, yeah.

44:39Shannon Sharpe:There I go.

44:43Shannon Sharpe:The music. Hey, that music do something to you, boy. Especially when you about to go out there and perform and you hear something, they get them juices flowing. Oh, man.

44:52Joe Johnson:Get you going, get you high. Hey, Joe, you remember the same? Y 'all might not know the song, Unk. You might not remember it because you don't listen to them. But Joe, 2005, BG. BG had a song called Same Whole Shit. You remember that? Oh, my God.

45:11Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, when I was in college, my highlight tape had BG, that living legend. I don't know if you ever heard of that. Oh, Ocho, Ocho went off. You hear me? Where old?

45:24Joe Johnson:Hey. Yeah. Oh, man. Hey, Chad, y 'all remember BG? You think our Chad old enough? I mean, depending on the age. Yeah, they know. Yeah, y 'all remember BG, same old shit? Boy, I'm talking about classic, boy.

45:40Shannon Sharpe:Hey, I'm the same way, man. I didn't listen. I seen somebody in the chat ask me what I listen to. I didn't listen to a whole lot of rap neither before, man. I'm already a calm individual, but I need some just kind of level me out smooth me out because when the game going I'm already reached a hundred you know I mean yeah yeah yeah and when I'm doing I'm exhausted I'm talking about I'm excited I got I got to go sit down somewhere so but yeah I'd like to be chill relaxed in my little zone you know I may be singing so I may be going off you know what I mean hey hey and I'm a visionary too I have to see myself dominating in the game before the game actually happened You know, when I was a kid, Uncle Ocho, that's what my coaches, Mike Greenwood and Sylvester Allen, who taught us from we were little league, bro, they used to tell us, hey, look, you got to visualize yourself going out there already dominating.

46:34Shannon Sharpe:You know what I mean? It don't happen on game day here the night before. When I go to sleep, I used to dream about the game, bro. That's how invested I used to be. Like from a kid, I'm talking about 8, 9, 10 years old, I love the game so much, bro. I used to dream about it. and then look, and don't let us mess around and lose in my dream because I'm pissed off when I wake up. I wake up, I'm pissed off so when the game starts, oh hell nah, I ain't letting that happen today. That's how invested I used to be.

47:02Joe Johnson:Hey, Unc, I know Unc, you might remember. Unc, you might have already been retired in 2003.

47:07Shannon Sharpe:No, that was my last year.

47:08Joe Johnson:Joe. It was, Joe, remember when Young Jeezy, when Thug Motivation came out?

47:13Shannon Sharpe:That was my first year in the A, Ocho. I had just got to Atlanta, Ocho. This thing was off the whim. You hear me?

47:22Joe Johnson:Joe, it didn't matter what stadium you went into, Unk, everybody playing the same thing.

47:26Shannon Sharpe:Hey, that thing -

47:27Joe Johnson:On the jumbo char.

47:28Shannon Sharpe:That thing with coconuts, Unk. What? Yeah, that thing with coconuts. That's how it used to be, you go to Oakland, cause you know heaven was big back then. Ooh! Okay, okay, okay. Pumps in the bunks. Pumps in the bunks. We like the girls with the bunks. The girl with the pumps in the bunks. And then people in the old town, let me tell you about my city. Old town, boy that bass be awesome. Oh my goodness. And the crowd be hype, I say, oh man. Hey, Hammer had some hits. They own one today. Oh yeah. Hey, Hammer had some real hits back in the day, boy. Boy, I used to be in the house typewriter and everything through the crib, boy.

48:08Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Hammer had you doing? Let me see Joe. Hey, do it, Joe, do it. Yeah, all that. Yeah. Yeah, with them drop crotch sweatpants, you know he had the drop crotch. Man, what? Yeah, he had the big baggy pants. Boy, I had it all, I had it all, I swear I did. I had it all. You don't hear me, Bobby Brown. Bobby Brown had the old two, remember Bobby Brown? He's with him. I don't be cool. Them him. Cause I would never be that cool to you. Way too cute. I know, I know, I don't let go. Hey man, where we gonna party, man? Oh, you know what? My bad, my bad, come on, my bad. You at, hey, hey, hey, Ocho, Ocho, you hear what he's saying?

48:53Shannon Sharpe:Me and you done been places. Yeah.

48:57Joe Johnson:Hey Joe, you gotta get a permission slip

48:59Shannon Sharpe:to come out of the house, man. Hey, hey, hey, hey. I don't even bring stuff like that up no more, Joe. You just do the, you do the live to him here. Oh, he ain't do nothing but dunk it. Yeah, you do, he do the live. Oh, Joe, but he gonna talk about, I wanna left party, we gonna party. Oh, nevermind, nevermind. I'm about to get up, nevermind. Hey man, watch out, let that go. Oh man, let's move forward, bro. We feelin' gonna have a good time, man. We have a great time.

49:24Joe Johnson:Hold on, hold on, hold on, Joe. We gonna party in PV?

49:27Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, we all gonna hang out. We gonna do a little somethin'. I know we gonna do somethin'. Yeah, I'ma do somethin' by two somethin'. Hey, listen, hold on. But why I got y 'all on this page, the following weekend when we go to Vegas, you need to find a pool hall, man, so I can tighten you boys up. I got a pool table right here. 49:52Joe Johnson:Time out. We going to Vegas the following week?

49:55Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Why he acting like him?

49:57Joe Johnson:Why ain't nobody telling me nothing, man?

50:00Shannon Sharpe:No. Why? What you call them ain't telling you. Your people. They get the day. They into what you call it. They into group chat. Hey, what we got going on? What we going on? What are we doing? The Ryan, what you call him, fight? Ryan Garcia.

50:14Joe Johnson:Oh, Connor Ben. Man, I'm finna wear my boots. Why you telling me? Hey, I'm finna wear my boots. What?
