In short
The hosts (former Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, plus “Unc” and “Ocho”) react to the Cowboys trading Micah Parsons, arguing Parsons is a rare game-wrecker and that Dallas’s internal conflict and ego led to the move. They also discuss other NFL topics (training-camp practices, Derrick Henry yardage chase, comparisons to “Linsanity”/Tebow, draft/roster talk), plus lighter Q&A and trivia.
Guests / guest backgrounds
No formal guests are interviewed in this transcript. The episode features recurring hosts: Ari Chambers (sports journalist) and Sam Jay (co-host of Everyone Watches Women’s Sports). “Ocho” and “Unc” are the main voices. A referenced guest is former Panthers RB Mike Davis, whose comments about Matt Rhule appear via a clip.
Key claims
- Parsons is the “second most important” player because he disrupts the quarterback; Dallas should not have “let him out of the building.”
- The trade stems from ego on both sides: Jerry Jones vs. Parsons/agent, plus Parsons refusing a fifth-year option.
- Dallas’s defensive decline is tied to Parsons being removed.
Notable examples
- 2020 Cowboys turnaround with Dan Quinn and Parsons’ impact (sacks, interceptions, forced turnovers).
- Comparisons to elite pass rushers like T.J. Watt and Miles Garrett.
- Mike Davis criticizing Carolina’s intense “live” goal-line practice after injury.

2:27Shannon Sharpe:Former Cowboys coach Jason Garrett was shocked by the trading of Michael Parsons. I was shocked. You know, the most important player on the football team is the quarterback. The second most important player on the football team is the guy that can negatively affect the quarterback. And those guys are hard to come by. Ever since that guy came into the league, he's been a dominant player. He's transformative. He's changing the whole team. If you think about the Cowboys in 2020, they were 6-10. They weren't a very good team. And then they get defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. and all of a sudden they're a different team.
2:56Shannon Sharpe:And if you look at all those interceptions that the DBs are making, Bland, Diggs, they're intercepting them, the running backs for touchdowns, and running them back for touchdowns, you look at what's going on around the quarterback on those throws. Micah is the guy causing all the problems, and those guys are hard to come by. If you think about it, in four years, 52 sacks, he and Reggie White being used in the same sentence, he's an impactful player. I was shocked that they let him out of the building. A lot of people are saying that. And a lot of people don't understand. It was ego. It was the same ego that let Jimmy Johnson out of the building.
3:32Shannon Sharpe:It was the same ego. Credit. Credit. He's like, I found Michael Parsons. I'll go find me another one. Guess what? You found DeMarcus Ware, and guess what you did? You let him out the building. And he go win a Super Bowl with the Broncos. Now, I'm not saying Michael Parsons is going to go win a Super Bowl. That's what I'm saying. But when you got a guy that's 26 years of age and he can hunt the quarterback like he can, everybody's looking. That's why Pittsburgh paid T.J. Watt at the age of 31 what they paid him. That's why Cleveland paid Miles Garrett, even though he had two years left on his contract, what they paid him.
4:10Shannon Sharpe:They need guys that can hunt the quarterback and this guy can hunt the quarterback. Now, egos got involved. Egos on both sides. Jerry felt that we had a handshake deal, even though he's not supposed to be negotiating with the player when he knows the player has an agent. Michael felt he was disrespected, and I can't say that I disagree with him because you're telling the guy, hey, we paid him last year and he missed time, and now all of a sudden we can't stop the run and we can't do this. It's almost like everything that's going on defensively that's wrong with the Cowboys, he's putting it on Micah as the reason why.
4:44and then you turn around and say, nah, you're going to play on that fifth-year option.
4:50Shannon Sharpe:Micah said, no, I'm not. At all. And look, at that point in time, Mocho, you have to move him. But when you get two strong-minded individuals, obviously Jerry is not going to bend. He's made it abundantly clear. He runs things. He does things his way. It's served him well. It's hurt him in certain instances. but I'm surprised also because guys like Michael Parsons don't drop off trees they just don't I mean I was surprised that he lasted as long as he did because I watched him I saw him and I saw a guy that was sudden I saw a guy that was impactful I saw a guy that jumped off he jumped off the screen at you I said no no he can play and then you watch him go to the combine and do what he did I said okay he'll be a player because I want to watch him on tape, watch him on TV.
5:43Shannon Sharpe:Does he jump up? Yeah. God damn, he's good. Hey, listen. Well, let's see. Let's see if he runs fast, Ocho. Let's see if he's explosive by jumping high. Let's see what type of short area quick does he have in the shuttle. Hey, Michael Parsons, Abdul Carter, Vaughn Miller, deep as the ends that are not tall, not 6 '5", not 6 '4", and 2", whatever. Undersized. Got a nice toolbox. Got a nice motor. Lateral movement. Very good with the hands. They all got something in common. Abdul Carter going to be up next, huh? He's going to be the next one. Watch. Jerry, you built your team. You had an undersized defense.
6:34Shannon Sharpe:The way you built your team is that you were supposed to score, get the lead. They couldn't run, so you pin your ears back. Now, when you turn the ball over and you don't race out to that big lead, now you got a big offensive line leaning on your underside defense. Now you get guys running up and down the field on you. But when you get a Michael Parsons, ain't nobody said everything. Ain't nobody ever said, man, Derrick Thomas can't stop the run. He going to hunt your damn quarterback, though. You go get the quarterback. As a matter of fact, I want you to play the run on the way to the quarterback.
7:12Shannon Sharpe:Now, if they hand the ball to him and you head it to the quarterback, go ahead and tackle him. But I want you to go get the quarterback. But you can see kind of where this was headed. Jerry, who, like, wants to prove a point that it's going to be my way or no way. And then once he – and I don't think he left Micah much of a choice Because it seems to me that Michael was kind of hell-bent on not playing on that 21. They had a grievance, foul. He was a linebacker. Linebacker is 24. The defensive end is 21-5. And so whatever the case may be, he didn't want to play on that number. And Jerry basically said, you're going to play on that number or you're going somewhere else.
7:54Shannon Sharpe:He said, well, send me somewhere else, Dan. Case closed. And matter of fact, and when I left, you said you just got better. You said while I was there, you need to stop the run. So you went and got Kenny Clark. And then you permitted to say that we need to get better in the run, not realizing who you play week one on Thursday. So when the game come Thursday, and I can't wait to Thursday night show, because if the goddamn Eagles run their ass up and down the goddamn field against the Cowboys, Jerry, again, then put his foot in his goddamn mouth. My thing is, Ocho, I don't really see the need. If we break up, I don't need to say anything negative about you.
8:40Yeah, never will.
8:41Shannon Sharpe:Ever. Because I didn't say that. All those things that I'm saying about you now, you were those exact same thing when I was walking around arm in arm and we were key, key, key and showing up to a biz together. you were all those things you didn't do anything that caused us to break up that you weren't doing when we were together it seems to me whatever Jerry is saying about Micah now did he just get that way in the off season or had he been like that since you got him now pretty soon stuff is going to start coming out probably he missed meetings and he was late to practice and he wasn't doing this he was going to come out Watch what I tell you now.
9:22Shannon Sharpe:Watch what I tell you. It kind of slipped out because he said something about Jay-Z, about showing up to meetings and all this and stuff like that. But it's the most stuff going to come out.
9:34Shannon Sharpe:Stuff, you never accept anything in a win, you wouldn't have a loss. Yeah. And there are a lot of people that will accept as long as we're winning. Well, if a guy missed meetings, if a guy missed practice and you're winning, if you start to lose why is it a problem you accepted it when you was winning so why is it unacceptable when you're losing that's why you don't accept things in a way and you wouldn't have lost because you're setting a bad precedent you're setting you i'm telling you you let guys start you guys come in overweight ocho and they're pound or two overweight and you win you're like hey don't worry about it don't worry about it sooner or later that two pounds gonna turn to five, five is going to turn to ten.
10:17Shannon Sharpe:And then when it comes, because guess what? Most places that do get cold and you don't lose weight as easily as when it's hot. Now Miami might be a different situation. Arizona, you know, some places like that. But you start playing in New York and you play in Baltimore, you play in Cincinnati, you play in places where it gets cold, Ocho, and you're not running around like that. It gets harder and harder. I think that's one of the best things, one of the best lessons that Mike Shanahan told me and it stuck with me and here we are 30 plus years later. 84, I'll never accept anything in a win. I wouldn't end a loss.
10:54Shannon Sharpe:That effort that you gave me there, that ain't it. I wouldn't accept no. The meeting, punctuality and you can appreciate that. But like I said, I got nothing bad to say. Because a lot of things when you tolerated I'm going to go ahead Say my thing Whatever transpired I'll bite my tongue I'll be the bigger person I'll walk away Hey You right Because you know why Ocho is low hanging fruit You know how I know Because your boy You looking at him He low hanging fruit And there are a lot of people Taking your shot at your boy Y 'all can have it Y 'all got it Y 'all got me
11:46yes all right it's okay
11:50Shannon Sharpe:it's okay
11:54Shannon Sharpe:we're gonna be all right now trivia say we're gonna be all right i could have told you that i could tell you that i've been telling you that yeah everybody everybody want to pile on everybody jump on now hey we got him down we got him down the best time to hey let me get let me get my lick now everybody want to get a lick now where your boy was doing good you hear a lot of people that have a whole lot to say now everybody got something to say we're all better we're going to be alright Ocho former Panthers running back Mike Davis talked about his poor experience with Matt Rule in Carolina on Raw Room Podcast damn let's take a listen to what he had to say Ocho bro we did live goal on C-MAT first day from injury first day back from injury that's crazy and he get hollowed.
12:46Oh, damn. I didn't even see him. He just walked out of here. Oh, I'm gone, bro. I would have been gone. That's what I'm saying. What are we doing? And he was so mad. He was so mad. He just walked out of here. Why would that even be a scenario that he would be in? It's his first day back. Why would I put him in the laundry? It was just stuff like that that was going on. That's crazy. It's not college. That's what college is. That would have worked. You know what I'm saying? And you know how like, I don't even think it was like OTAs like phase one. You know what I'm saying? You know, we supposed to be on the field.
13:17We know I'm supposed to do like walkthrough stuff. You know what I'm saying? Even if we do running is kind of like 50%. We was going a hundred percent. You know how bad it gotta be for C-Mac to be like, hey, yo, hey, I'ma say something, because we're doing too much.
13:35Shannon Sharpe:That's crazy. Wow. Well, that's a college coach. Hey. and you know Coach Saban remember how Coach Saban was how the guys say Coach Saban was when he got to Miami but they wouldn't move though and boy I'm talking about the veterans the veterans certain stuff they didn't have a whole lot of those they didn't have a whole lot of those there at Carolina and C-Mac was young and he even said something
14:06I mean
14:07Shannon Sharpe:look practicing the guys like that when they're in college you get away with it ocho because the guy you can tell an 18 19 20 year old something that a 24 25 year old guy to gas out you know why ocho i'm already here you you tell the 18 19 year old kid ocho something 18 19 20 year old kid something because he's trying to get somewhere you got his undivided attention i'm 24 25 i'm already here and and I make more than you.
14:42Shannon Sharpe:Especially when you're already there and you put me in harm's way. Now you put me in harm's way. Why are we going 100 miles an hour on goal line? Why am I just coming back from injury and you got me in going 100 miles an hour and then I get high load as soon as I get in there?
15:05Shannon Sharpe:We went like, you go live goal line in training camp. But, you know, in training camp, you know, look, 9-on-7, live. Goal line, live. Hey, all right. Hey, you know, hey, I'm batting down the hatches, Ocho. I tighten them shoulder pads up. It's live. Okay, I expect that. I ain't expect no damn live goal line during the season unless it's in the game. Damn sure they're expecting that. You know, training camp's a different animal. I mean, we once had, we had what we call Hell Week in 94, Ocho. We had 16 straight padded practices. 16.
15:46Shannon Sharpe:16 padded. No, sir. Hey, I would have had. I ain't telling what somebody told me they had. I'm telling what I know. I'm telling you. A few of those I would have had shells on. Bad. Ocho, you know that third day now. You know that old man get in there. You start walking stiff and hurting to get up out of bed. you're like man what time is it man it's two o 'clock I think I can hold his pee till seven damn man your knees hurt your hips hurt Ocho your ankles man I ain't trying to get up back I ain't trying to get up and walk on that cold ass floor and go to the bathroom and my bathroom uh we stayed in college dorms and my room but bathroom was right there because I just walk out and I'm in the bathroom but it hurt to get up man I'm like lord have mercy I remember mind you I don't forget I was there for two days I know what it's like I remember them days Man please
16:49Oh man there were some days Boy
16:52Shannon Sharpe:Yeah I mean some people never know what that's like Ocho Like I said I don't know I haven't been to a Training camp in a long time So I don't know if it's walkthroughs if it's meetings in the afternoon. I don't know what it is. I don't know how they do it. You know, I think you can have on pads for like 13 practices during the season. I don't know. We only put on pads on Thursday. We had on pads for like 12 plays. Might have – we had plans for 12 plays, 9 on 7. That was it. Then we come up out to pads. Then we didn't have on pads. We didn't have on pads on Wednesday. We didn't have on pads after those 13 plays, 12, 13 plays, maybe 12.
17:30Shannon Sharpe:It might have been like 9 or 10, whatever the case may be, If it was a good 9-on-7, you come up out of them. And then Friday, obviously, you didn't have on pads. Now, Coach Reed, we had on pads. We had on pads and shorts. That was shells. That was those wide shells. We wore those until about week 13, week 14. No, sir. That was the old school days. Listen, I had some days where I just didn't feel like wearing pads, so I put my shells on. And obviously, you know, the DBs and the linebackers, they'll be able to be able to tell the difference. So, you know, there would be no, obviously, they know just the touch below the hip.
18:16Don't hit me. Yeah, don't hit me because I let them know right away. I get one of them signals like this, tap my head, or I tap my shoulder pads and they know. All right, we got you.
18:35Shannon Sharpe:yeah man mike wasn't playing that come on man look here i ain't trying to be out here all day man let's go ahead make this thing look we ain't 907 we got like eight plays and i got like six of them let's make it look let's make it look good for the camera with you hey let's fire up thud it up and keep it moving because Michael start this mofo over. You don't want that. Hell nah. Man, Michael start it over and you go all the way back from stretching. Go back to stretch. And do all the periods over again? Oh, no. Absolutely not. Okay. If around, if you want to. What might they play that? Man, hey, drop two passes in a row.
19:31Shannon Sharpe:I dropped one. Then Rod dropped one. We might be able to play eight. Start it over. We start the whole period over. Oh, man. Man, run that back. My bad, guys. My bad. My bad. Oh, man. Derrick Henry needs 1 ,317 yards, rushing to become one of the NFL top 10 rushes in his career. The historic run with Lift Henry from his current 19th spot propelled him past seven Hall of Fame running backs. You can see the list right there. I don't think anybody's going to get Emmitt's record. I think it's safe. But you see Walter Payton. You look at Frank Gore, Barry Sanders. Barry Sanders, he did that in 10 years.
20:16Shannon Sharpe:So imagine averaging 1 ,520 yards. That's crazy. But anyway, you see Curdy Mark, LaDainian, JB. Man, it's funny. I was in the league with Emmitt, Barry, Curdy Mark, LT, Bettis, Dickerson, Marshall, Edge. I don't think I played against Edge. I did. I did. Marcus, Thurman, Fred, Steven. I don't think I was in to see Steven Jackson. Damn. I think he gets it. I say he's going to be in the top 10 by the time the season is over, Ocho. Yeah, maybe 1 ,300? Yeah, it's going to be the same culprits. It's going to be the same culprits that are going to have 1 ,300 plus this year. Same ones. And he's one of them.
21:07Absolutely one of them.

21:10Shannon Sharpe:Let me think about it, Ocho. He rushed for$12 ,000 in high school. He broke Ken Hall's record of over$12 ,000. He's from Sugarland. and this man had Jerry Harry had like 4 ,000 yards rushing. Real deal. So you think about it. Think about all the yards this man has rushed for. 12 ,000 in high school. Another 12 ,000. He got a little over 11 ,000 now. And he had what? 2 ,000, 3 ,000 in the NFL. I mean in college. And to be that durable and to be a collision back? Yeah. Yeah. Let me see. We think about running backs having 1 ,300. I mean, did I know going to have 1 ,300? Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkley.
22:03Jonathan Taylor. Jonathan Taylor, because they don't have a choice but to give him the ball. Correct.
22:13Josh Jacobs is going to be right there, fringy. Mm-hmm.
22:22Aaron Jones, he'll hit 1 ,000. I don't know if he'll get to 13.
22:26Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, he won't get 13. He's more of a dual threat. He's more of a runner and a catcher. Let me think. Who else? I said Josh Jacobs or the – CMAC, what do you think about CMAC? You think he'll be able to stay healthy all season long? He's more of a dual threat. I can see him close to 1 ,300, but he might have another 700 receiving. I want to go with B. John Robinson. I think I see more like 11, maybe 1100. I want to say Kyron Williams, too, especially with him just getting paid over there in L.A. But I think he's going to have to split carries with. I forgot who the backup is. Yeah. Man, Jim Brown had 12 ,000 yards in nine seasons.
23:18Is it with Jim Brown That good or was the level of competition That shitty
23:26Shannon Sharpe:He was I mean he had speed, power, you're talking about a guy That was 6 '2", 230 pounds When the offensive lineman was like 240
23:36Shannon Sharpe:He was an MVP In his rookie season I don't think we'll ever see an NFL MVP In his rookie season I don't think we'll see another NBA MVP in his rookie season. Like we saw with, I think Will Chamberlain was an MVP and I think Wes Unsel was an MVP. I think Freddie Lynn in baseball was an MVP. Jim Brown was an MVP. We're not going to see that anymore. It was so long ago, we're not going to see it. We're not going to see it. But Derrick Henry, for him to be a collision back and to still be putting up the yards that he's putting up, kind of like Adrian Peterson was a collision back. I mean, you think about Frank Gore with two repaired ACLs.
24:20Shannon Sharpe:I think he had two ACL surgeries, maybe three, and he got sick. He's the third all-time leading rusher. Hey, that's crazy. Just think about that. I mean, think about that backfield. Clinton Portis, Frank Gore, Willis McGahee. That was your backfield to you. Boy, we're loaded, boy. Yep. But stay healthy, King Henry. What year is this for King Henry? 11? Might be 12.

25:39Why is it important for the darker part of the Declaration of Independence and the American Revolution? Why is it important that Americans know about it? Well, if we don't understand the full context in which our nation was founded, we won't understand the full context in which our nation now finds itself. I'm Rebecca Nagle, Goheen Dawadon, Jalakayetli, Gayla, citizen of Cherokee Nation. Are you guys big Chiefs fans? Hell yeah. 27:33this is going to be 10 okay
27:39Shannon Sharpe:um for him to like i said to be a collision back to run to that kind of contact with the amount of carries that he's had well here shoot don't nobody don't nobody want to hear a collision back but don't nobody want to collide with him
27:55true true that's a big boy
28:02Shannon Sharpe:Nebraska, Dylan Raiola became the center of a conversation on social media during his squad matchup, with many believing he's trying a little too hard to resemble Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes was also on hand yesterday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City when Raiola, Cornhuskers took on Cincinnati Bearcats. In the video booth, both arriving in Arrowhead went viral. Many pointed out just how similar Raiola looked to Mahomes, even down to what he chose to wear to the game. Is that the center? Used to be from Detroit's son? The quarterback from Nebraska, Dominique Raiola. Is that Dylan Raiola? Is that the center?
28:45Shannon Sharpe:I think he was a center for Detroit. Is that his dad? Is that his son? There was a center. Is his uncle?
28:59Shannon Sharpe:No, Dominique. Damn. I'm getting old. That's his son? He is. Listen, if there's a person you want to replicate, there's a person you want to emulate, and you want to be like, shoot. He replicating the right person. I mean, he can't help. I mean, maybe from the gear, the outfit, but he can't help if he look like him. Damn. Only that, but copy him. Copy him. everything he does. Why not? There could be worse people, worse person. There could be a worse people you can emulate. Yeah, yeah. I like it. Yeah, look at it. Hey, from his mechanics, his throwing motion, he'd be doing all this too. Like Mahomes be doing, whenever we want to play, he got everything down.
29:46The whole nine yards.
29:51Shannon Sharpe:Well, damn, they mad. I guess they were mad at Kobe when he tried to be like Jordan. He walked like him, he talked like him, He had everything, copied everything down to the elbow, to the knee sleeve pulled down over his calf. Damn. So, there are worse people you can emulate. There's a reason why Kobe's one of the greatest of all time, ever.
30:14Shannon Sharpe:Maybe Dominique Rell was saying, sir, Kobe, well, maybe I can get me a couple years like that. Also, Jeremy Lin finally retired today. What NFL version of his insanity? Tebow. No. You think? Well, Tebow. Linsanity. You said it was a flash. It was the NFL version of Linsanity. Tebow.
30:43Shannon Sharpe:Do you remember Linsanity when he went with the Knicks? Yes, I remember. You were going crazy. Okay. Yeah. And Tebow, when he went to Broncos that one season, he got to the playoffs. Demarius Thomas I mean the stick Yeah the slam Yeah that's Linsanity Okay Did Linsanity do anything anywhere else he went Oh he was alright now with the Lakers too now don't do that He had a little shine with the Lakers too now
31:17Shannon Sharpe:So who would be the NFL version of Linsanity then I said Tebow you disagree I'm not disagreeing I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I mean, I'm trying to say this and I don't want to be disrespectful. Go ahead. No, you know, I'm not going to, you know what? My grandma always told me, if you don't have nothing nice to say, don't say nothing at all. I don't want to talk about nobody game. What game? What you going to say? I mean, what, what was Jeremy Lin's weakness? because everyone thought Tim Tebow's weakness was his inability to do. Consistently throw the football. So I just – when you compare it, I'm kind of nitpicking at the comparison.
32:06Shannon Sharpe:I'm talking about the aura because Linsanity didn't happen in L.A. It didn't happen anywhere else but New York. And I'm saying Tebowism, and maybe people say he didn't get a fair chance or whatever the case may be. but it was only in Denver for that brief period of time. It was special. Remember, you know what else is special? Cleveland. This young fella played running back. Matter of fact, his season was so good, he ended up on the cover of Madden. Oh, you're talking about Peyton Hillis? There you go. Yeah. I kind of like that comparison better because I don't know what. Peyton Hillis came out of nowhere, boy, that season.
32:46I forgot what year that was. Oh, my. But you got to realize he was in the same backfield. Jamal Lewis. No?
32:53Shannon Sharpe:No, no, no, no, no, no. He went to Arkansas. McFadden and the guy that went to the first round pick to the Cowboy. They were in the backfield together. Yes. What was the other guy named? He got drafted in the first round. He went to Dallas. Dallas? Had to be like. Oh, with Murray. Murray something. DeMarco Murray. No. No, DeMarco Murray from Oklahoma. Darren McFadden replaced DeMarco Murray. McFadden got drafted by the Raiders, I think, at eight. What was the other guy's name? Chad, what's his name? He played for the Cowboys? Yes. Not Mary. Felix Jones. Felix Jones. Felix Jones. Wait, all three of them was on the same team?
33:46Yep. Yep. Felix Jones, Peyton Hillis. Darren McFadden. God damn, that's a crazy play field. They drafted him two spots before Chris Johnson.
33:58Shannon Sharpe:They drafted him two spots before Chris Johnson. Remember, Chris Johnson went to the Titans. But they also took, you know, Jerry does a great job. He took Taco Charlton. He left T.J. Watt on the board. But Jerry's great at this thing now. Don't let Jerry fool you. He did say he's the best person to run the team, Let me ask you a question. Dale Hansen said something. He was a former reporter. He's a former in Dallas. He asked Jerry, say, Jerry, in any other sport, name another team that would hire you to be their general manager. that's if you could tell him somebody good about Ocho would somebody hire you with another team if you got fired name a team in the NFL name a team in MLB name a team in the NBA that would draft you to pick players for them
34:58that ain't happening that ain't happening captain. Hey, listen. He might miss a lot, but he got a few good ones now. We got a few, especially when it comes to that 88. He got a string of 88s he put together.
35:19Shannon Sharpe:Well, Ocho, you got to think about it. He had no choice. They were gone. Hold on. Did CD go before or after Jefferson? I think he went after, right? Because you got to think about it. Judy had already been going off the board. Jalen Waddle was already going off the board.
35:45Shannon Sharpe:Henry Ruggs.
35:49Okay. All the way before JJ. Yep. Man, let me go get in the scouting department, man. man. Hey,
36:02Shannon Sharpe:you know, Ocho, man, you know when Henry Ruggs went to the combine, he ran four two. You know what that do. Jew, and Jew had already, when he won the Bolitnikoff award as a sophomore, saucing people up. So you could understand that. Well, hold on, man. Justin Jefferson, people didn't want to give Justin Jefferson no credit because they was like, he was with Joe Burrow. He had Chase. He had this and that. Okay. Nah. Turns out he just have been the best receiver in that draft. class. And CD's been phenomenal. But JJ's been better.
36:36Shannon Sharpe:So.
36:40Shannon Sharpe:But I like that. I like the Peyton Hillis in Cleveland. I like Tebow in Denver. A comparable NFL comparison to Lynn Sanity. Chad, what y 'all think? Former Buccaneers, now free agent Shiloh Sanders was fined $4 ,669 for unnecessary roughness in the preseason game and it's Tampa final preseason game Ocho versus DeBio. He ain't make that. He got it though. He on the NFL. He good. He got it. Nah. Oh, he got it. He good. They took the man last check Ocho. Nah, he good.
37:22Did he get resided? Did anybody sign him? Did they resign him to the practice squad? No, because remember they brought another safety.
37:29Shannon Sharpe:yeah well damn I was reading that he was doing good and next thing you know he's not
37:40damn
37:45Shannon Sharpe:I was sure hope he can squeeze out a year get a little better somebody might pick him up still
37:55Shannon Sharpe:yeah you know what I kind of like want to because i've been in otas i've been in many camps i've been in training camps i kind of know this system so i want to hit the ground running because i already got a head start i don't want to have to learn the system all over again i'm thinking i'm i'm hesitating i don't know like son get i mean you got to do what you got to do i mean hey you don't have a job if somebody gives you an opportunity hey i got to learn on the fly it's not what i it's not what i'm used to doing, but I'm a fast learner. And that's why you have to look at it. Shallow said this week that he plans to get into music, acting, modeling after being weighed.
38:35Shannon Sharpe:Whatever he decides to do, I hope it works out for him. You know, it's always nice to have backup plans. You always got to have a plan B. Always got to have a plan B. I ain't going to lie with you. I ain't have no plan B. No. You ain't had no choice but to make it. I put all my eggs in one basket and pray I didn't slip on the way to the market and mess up the profit. That's a good one. I like that. I like that. I'm just being 100 with you. And I'm glad I went to a perfect situation. I went to a situation, and people ask me this all the time. Shana, you're thinking, no, no. I went to a team, one of the three teams in the NFL that had the H-back position.
39:17Shannon Sharpe:I went to a coach that saw how hard I worked in practice, even though I didn't know a whole lot, but he saw how hard I worked. And I never really played special team. But, hey, son, can you play gunner? What's a gunner? I ain't know what no damn gunner was. He's like, you got a line out there. When we punt the ball, you line out there. And you got to go. When they snap the ball, you can take off. I ain't never done it, but I'll try it. Boom. You ever play kickoff return, son? No, sir. What'd I do? Am I returning the ball? I said, Coach, I ain't never ran the ball back. I mean, no, you up here blocking.
39:56Shannon Sharpe:Oh, okay, I'll do it. You up play kickoff. No, what I mean, I got to go down there and tackle somebody? Like, yeah. I said, where I line up at? You know, I mean, hey, they asking me these questions, don't you? I don't know. Where do I line up? Where we want you to be, you know, you line up. I'm under three. So what I do? Okay, this is your, you know, you on the numbers. you got everything anything that come to the numbers and you know you see the guy coming away you try to knife it from the backside okay then I had a quarterback for some reason he took a liking to me I don't know why he was patient when I was running the wrong routes he never showed me up he's like and when I did something good he would always tell me that's like you he said you got you got You can play in this league.
40:50Shannon Sharpe:You just need to apply yourself. And that gave me so much confidence that he, an MVP, a Pro Bowl player, telling a kid from Savannah State that I can play in this league and I got talent. I got a coach that says, hey, we're going to find a place for you. I got a quarterback that believed in me.
41:16Please.
41:18Shannon Sharpe:that's all I needed to hear Ocho I believed I could play but you know what Ocho to hear Spank telling me hey you can do it hey you remember you went blah blah blah man but when John told me that I could play in this league and I could be special he told me I could be special Ocho that reassurance do something to you especially depending on who you hear from if you hear from the right person a seventh round pick Ocho from HBCU and the quarterback that just came off the Super Bowl said you can be special boy you couldn't hit me in the ass with a red apple I'm talking about a nice shiny one too man it take hearing stuff like that from the right person at the right time it makes a difference it makes a difference
42:26Shannon Sharpe:it'll work out Ocho veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdez Scantling explains why he signed with the 49ers over the Steelers it was between here and Pittsburgh obviously I have a good relationship with Avery Rogers over there and he wanted me back over there so it was a toss-up 50-50. Had to weigh my options to see which one wanted to do, which is going to be better for my career at this point. I was excited about it. What'd you think, Ocho? He picked the 49ers instead? Yep. I mean... I don't want to read too much into it. He said he had a good relationship. He played with Aaron, didn't he? In Green Bay?
43:07Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yeah. I think he can get more opportunities he's down there in San Francisco. IU, Kurt. Ricky Purcell is there. Jawan Jennings. Obviously, Marquez Valdez. They're loaded in Pittsburgh. They got DK. Calvin Austin, the third. Come on now.
43:34They throw the ball more over there in San Francisco. They throw the ball way more. I'm not sure what the offense is going to look like in Pittsburgh. but they finna let that thing fly over there in San Francisco.
43:51Yeah.
43:52Shannon Sharpe:Well, not as you mentioned. I mean, he played a number of years with Aaron, but hey, he said at this point in time in his career, he felt he'd be better served in San Fran. So he's in San Fran. And on a college football week, Ocho, do you remember your first college football game? Oh, well. damn are you talking about Oregon State you talking about Juco what are we talking about here Juco I definitely don't remember Oregon State I forgot who we played week one so you don't remember I don't I don't hey Chad can somebody look that up man Chad you heard this man say this man say we asked you do you remember your first college football game this man said I don't remember who we played at Oregon State so therefore one would assume or deduce Oregon State 2000.
44:45The year we went to the Fiesta Bowl.
44:47Shannon Sharpe:We asked you. I don't know. I can't remember. That's 26 years ago. That's 26 years ago. Who did Oregon State play? 26 years ago, not 2 ,600 years ago. I mean, it's about the same. I don't remember anything at the five years. We played Bowie State. Bowie State. Y 'all won? We won. Ocho. What you did? I caught a bomb and got walked down at the one.
45:24Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, it was embarrassing, Ocho.
45:29Shannon Sharpe:I caught a bomb. It might have been, I don't know, it might have been like 40, 50 yards. Might have been, I don't know, 36. It was 36, 48. It was a long one. I got caught at the one, Ocho. Damn. How you got caught? The safety of the corner? I don't know what it was, Ocho. It felt like I was – Ocho, I just remember I'm running. I ran a goalball on him. I ran. And, you know, he was – I guess he thought I was going to do something else. I nodded him in. He turned inside, and then I got on top of him. Quarterback threw it. I'm just running. I'm like, damn. Ocho, you ever been out there saying like, damn, this ball taking a long time?
46:09I hate when you take –
46:13Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I thought he punted it. But anyway, I punted it. Also, I caught it. And I was so excited. I'm like, my first college catch, I'm about to get a touchdown.
46:31Damn. And I'm mad. I'm trying to – I want to know who we played. My first game at Oregon State in the year 2000. I want to know.
46:39Shannon Sharpe:Same thing. My first pass in the NFL Played the Pittsburgh I think we played My first catch The first game we played With the Raiders I think the first pass Was against the Steelers I think I caught it on Delton Hall Ocho Down to the 1 Again? Damn!
47:02Shannon Sharpe:I had bad luck Ocho Man I caught a pass Against the Steelers I laid out John throwed it Ocho I'm talking about Parallel catch it. They don't touch me down. I get up. I break back cross field. So I got the ball in my left hand. I'm stiff-arming dude like this here. Dude hit me in the back. I fumble the ball in the end zone. My teammate jump over to get a tight.
47:31I did.
47:32Shannon Sharpe:I said, damn.
47:36Shannon Sharpe:Damn. But I had some bad luck, man. I suppose that had a been had a 200-yard game. I had a 120-something-yard game against Minnesota. I get a false start penalty, Ocho. I catch it. I catch it like a little end. Ocho, I come out the backside.
47:59Shannon Sharpe:They push him out of the five. I gained like 70. They brought it all the way back. Illegal Illegal motion on me
48:13Damn
48:17Shannon Sharpe:I mean I can look I can look at a picture I can look at a card And I can tell you the game That I was in Yeah Hey you know I can do that I can do that too My card Because I wore something different A different helmet My socks My cleats Something was always different And I'm able to to tell exactly what game it was. That's crazy. That said my first game was Eastern Michigan. Y 'all win or lose? I don't know. Hey, Chad, what I did against Eastern Michigan in that first game?
48:50You had one catch for four yards, don't you? Yeah, shit me. That's a lie. The devil is a lie. See, I had one catch in four yards. Nah. It was Eastern Washington. What were my stats?
49:18Damn. I only had one catch before y 'all, for real?
49:24Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. I don't know what you're talking about me, because I told you. We played Bowie State, 1986, Savannah State. I think I had a bomb I caught a bomb Ocho and I got tackled at the one I don't know how far it was Chad how far was it if you can find it
49:47damn hey hold on one catch for negative four yards you had negative four Ocho damn were you playing on Oregon State are you playing with Eastern Washington? I don't know what. I don't know what happened that game. Well, I wish I had the schedule. If I play, if it was that bad, well, I'm going to...
50:16Nah, something ain't right.
50:18Shannon Sharpe:Well, ask chat GPT, Ash. It's a battle state by first game. First game against Bowie State. Oh, yeah, I did have one for four. I must... Minus four. Stop trying to add. You try to add A to it. You say minus four, too. Who he played after that? I mean, I can't even remember. College, at what point did he start? I don't know. We're not going to the second game. We asked you about the first game. Yeah, I mean, at some point I had to start cutting up. Hey, because I was hell at Oregon State, boy. I had me a good old time. You got to remember, I was a one for one, huh? That was it. This is my time to shine on the big stage.

53:33Shannon Sharpe:Who is 30 yards per catch? How many yards per catch do you average, Ochoa? You'll see one year. You have 1 ,000 that year? I ate some, ate in some change. I don't have your stats. They ain't got my stats. But Ocho was one catch for one yard and one carry for 94. Ocho, you had one catch for one yard. Damn, why they even throw you the ball? And then you had one carry for minus four.
54:06Hey, we had a nice score, too. We had a nice score.
54:14Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to get my stats. I know I had one catch in that game. And I know it was. 21.6 yards per catch. Yeah. Who, you? Because I averaged 21.2 my senior year. I had 61 catches for 1 ,312 yards and 18 tubs. In nine games. I'm going to go ahead and put that out there for you, Ocho. In nine. Yeah. Had three 200-yard games.
54:48damn I think Oregon State playing right now I think we losing too well I know y 'all lost that first game with them stats you put up we won remember we didn't lose we were undefeated until we played UW we lost to UW by a field goal and we played in the Fiesta Bowl we were undefeated though I think y 'all beating Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl 41-9 where your ring at I lost it. I lost it.
55:20Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, what if it's in that storage unit? You don't get it back? It might be worth something. I'm good. I don't need it.
55:35Shannon Sharpe:All right, Ocho. Start, bench, cut, Florida ride receivers, high school careers. Michael Irvin, Andre Johnson, and Quan Bolden. Woo!
55:47Shannon Sharpe:Okay. Irvin was an all-state selection the senior season, had just done 1 ,000 yards, 12 touchdowns in 1983. As a senior, Johnson caught 32 passes, 931 yards, and was named Parade All-American. Anquan was Mr. Football in the state of Florida, became the first player in Florida high school history to go over 11 ,000 yards in his prep career. Well, I know who we keeping. but Q was the quarterback they moved him to wide receiver at Florida State I see hey listen I seen you said Andre Johnson right I've seen Dre play I've seen Dre play at Miami High man Dre was the real deal I mean almost shitty average damn near 30 yards a catch you know who else went to Miami High remember Roscoe Parish Roscoe Parish went to the high too He played at He was at Cleveland Didn't he play at Cleveland?
56:48He said Roscoe was at Buffalo
56:50Shannon Sharpe:You know what you're right Ochoe Because I remember he I was doing the highlights at CBS And Roscoe he scored a touchdown I said Roscoe You know because Roscoe On the Dukes of Havre Yeah yeah yeah
57:09Shannon Sharpe:But no Q Q was Mr. Football in the state of Florida. If you missed the football in the state of California, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Ohio. Yeah, you that boy. You that boy. Now, there's some state, hey, you missed the football in Montana, I'm sorry. Or you missed the football in Wyoming, Ochoa, I'm sorry. But if you, especially the big, California, Texas, Florida, and Georgia, if you who fits the football in one of those both. Now, those are the big four. Now we'll throw Louisiana, we'll throw Ohio in there, you know, a couple of, but the big four, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Cali. Whew.
57:58Shannon Sharpe:You did something. I mean, you've really done something. All right, Ochoa, we're going to get you out here on this one. Final segment of the evening. It's time for Q and A. Hey. Hey, Chad. Chad. The Jazz should be very excited because what time is it right now? What time is it on the East Coast? Almost 1.20. Okay. I got about eight more hours. Arsenal play Liverpool. Oh. Yeah, I'm going to be asleep. Cameron Norwood Jr. said, man, how are you feeling after Texas loss? I was pulling for Texas, but it just didn't work out. Man, I ain't Look, I like Sark But it wasn't like I'm going to lose any sleep I'm going to give me a good night's sleep I don't care who lost today Man, we got beat too Hell, I'm going to sleep because Savannah State lost We got the Braves beat off Hell yeah I think Edward Wart He lost to Howard 10-9
58:58Shannon Sharpe:Burns coaching at Howard Man, I think we lost like 41-14 Who y 'all played? I think Edward Wart Edward Wart is in Jacksonville, right? Well, that's a small HBCU, huh? I guess. Look, all these schools that beat Savannah State just know y 'all didn't do nothing when I was there. I don't know what happened now, but I'm just saying when I was there. So all y 'all talking, y 'all be jumping in my car, jumping in the chat, we beat y 'all, we beat y 'all. Not when I was there. Fort Valley, Albany, Morehouse, Tuskegee, all y 'all talking, stop. The only one that can brag is Alabama A &M because I never beat them in three years.
59:40Shannon Sharpe:In my four years, we played and lost to them all three times. So everybody else, don't make me pull the tape out. You still got that VHS tape? No, I think Basil. I think Pogue got it. Mohouse, Mo Brown, Clark, Fort Valley, Skegee, Albany State. You gave everybody that word? I don't want to hear y 'all say nothing. I got to see the film. Ocho, it was... I know. I got to see the film because you might be giving me that Al Bundy story. Nah, bro. Bro. So think about it. If I did what I did in the NFL, what you think I did at HBCU? I mean... I was the same size. You do realize I was 225 pounds as a senior in college.
1:00:34Shannon Sharpe:I want to see the footage. Bet I was cutting up. I was cutting up. Adam Smith says, Arch Manning played like hard garbage. He cost his team the game. Not saying he can't improve, but this is his third year at Texas. I know something when he couldn't beat out Quinn Ewers. Fans blame Stark play calling, but he was protecting Arch in his play calling because he looked terrible. but defense kept him in. It gave Art the chance. Right to the wrong, but he blew it. I blame sports analyst, especially Paul Feinbaum, saying Art is the best quarterback since Tim Tebow. Bro, do you realize how many quarterbacks have been better?
1:01:15Shannon Sharpe:Cam, Joe Burrow, Andrew Luck,
1:01:23Shannon Sharpe:Baker Mayfield, Kyle Merck. Man, stop. He purposely didn't say any of them names now. He's the best. Lord have mercy jeez Bryce Young Lord have mercy now you know yeah well Vince Young was before Tebow Tebow came out in 2009 so every quarterback from basically 2010 he said Archie Manning is better so he's better than Cam better than Andrew Luck better than Joe Burr Come on now. Now you made me take my glasses off. Better than Baker Mayfield, better than Kyler Murray. Bro, Bryce Young.
1:02:16Shannon Sharpe:Yes, look, he's in his third year, but this is really only like it. He's really like a freshman because he only started like four games, and he's starting against teams that, you know, it doesn't matter who is the quarterback. Texas was going to win those games. So now he's starting and there are going to be meaningful games. They're going to have to go, you know. What's Texas' schedule looking like? Are they still doing the Red River rivalry? Yeah. Okay. So you got Oklahoma.
1:02:50So you got three crowd games. San Jose, Utah, San Francisco. the name of Florida, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Mississippi, Dandy, Georgia, Arkansas, and... Yeah.
1:03:04Shannon Sharpe:So we'll find out a lot about them. They got Georgia. I mean, they got some games they should win. They got three games, Ocho, they should win easily. Hell, you or I could be quarterback and we'd probably win those games with me, you or I, quarterback. But, you know, they got Georgia. They got A &M on their schedule. They got some, you know, Florida, Oklahoma. So we'll find out a little more.
1:03:29Shannon Sharpe:uh dragging the abandoner forget arch this freshman at cal uh this freshman quarterback at cal is insane who did cal wait first of all who did cal play today he said he's insane so i guess i don't know i need to know who they played first before we think he's insane based on the competition he had to play against pull it up
1:04:07Shannon Sharpe:we're trying to pull it up to see what this quarterback account that everybody be talking that he's that uh dragon is talking about he better through for 500 at least 500
1:04:23They're playing right now.
1:04:25Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. And they're playing Oregon State. Blue-Aid. Oh, they're playing your team. They're playing Oregon State. How many yards he done through for us? Blue-Aid. It's 20 up 49 touchdowns. 235 touchdowns. Oh, sure. They cooking, yo. Hey, that's the quarterback. quarterback. 31-9. 31-9. Y 'all losing. They got a whole lot. Y 'all got a few. It's only because it's week one. That's all. It's week one for them too. So, it ain't like if y 'all week one for y 'all, it is week 10 for everybody else. They ain't losing no more games this year. I can tell you that. Probably not going to win anymore either.
1:05:13Shannon Sharpe:Big Mike said, respect, winners going to win. That's what we do, bro. That's what we do. Truth Speaks 101 said, I believe the NFL is coming for Coach Prime's son.
1:05:33Shannon Sharpe:I think the thing is, guys, is that we got to realize his son's not him. I think we want Shiloh to be the equivalent of his dad at safety. We want Shadour to be the equivalent of his dad at quarterback. And it's just not going to happen.
1:05:55Shannon Sharpe:The Lord has really never blessed anybody that the father and son was, you know, maybe
1:06:05Shannon Sharpe:Bobby Hall and Brett Hall. But for the most part, you're not going to get Barry Bonds Jr. and Barry Bonds Sr. being here Ken Griffey Jr. and clean Griffey senior you're not gonna get that that's difficult
1:06:24Shannon Sharpe:do y 'all understand do y 'all so God did you just want God to just like just just dump all the talent here this family here y 'all just here just take it
1:06:35Shannon Sharpe:brothers possibly
1:06:39Shannon Sharpe:but father son so y 'all guess y 'all expect a Brady son to be the equivalent of him huh that's a lot of pressure man come on
1:06:54I go pick me another sport I ain't playing football
1:06:58Shannon Sharpe:if I do play football I damn sure ain't playing quarterback uh Dejan Donley said who's gonna have a better season between Bryce Underwood and Arch Manning I mean it's gonna be I'm gonna have to watch the young man play uh uh uh Bucket called me and told me that he was playing pretty well but I was kind of focused on the game that we're gonna talk about there'll be a time that we're gonna talk about the young man and so I'll make sure I pay attention to him because I don't want to say, well, he yada, yada, yada, and not having seen anything that he's done, Ocho. So I apologize for that, Chad. But Ocho and I take a look at him in the coming weeks because obviously we're going to talk about him when they play Ohio State, but we want to have a discussion about him before we get to that point.
1:07:44Shannon Sharpe:So sorry, I can't even give you a fair assessment who's going to have a better season. I watched Arch. I have not seen Bryce Underwood, but I'll get that. Yeah. Yeah. Fins NJ said, Ocho, did Carson Palmer ever call you out? Yeah, hell yeah. I told the story on here. Remember I told you we were playing the Steelers? I think a ball I forgot what it was. Ball might have been too far somewhere and I couldn't get to it and I took my chin strap and snapped it walking back to the huddle. Man, Carson was like, if you ever motherfuckers show me up like that again, you'll never get another motherfucking ball.
1:08:31Shannon Sharpe:That's what he said. He knew the camera. He knew the camera was on me. Yeah. That was the one time. We never. All that stuff like this. Throw your hands up and all that. Yeah. Yeah, I really. I really did that, though. I really did. That one time, I was trying to get that ball away. Ocho, which team would win if they played against each other? 2016 Chino Hills, Jello, Mello, and Lonzo, or 2020 Montverde Academy? Who's on the 2020 Montverde team?
1:09:19Shannon Sharpe:And he got a question. If you put Miami's 2001 Miami. defense and that defense how many games Jalen Duren Ryan Nembhard Jalen Hood Scafino who was it? who on there? Chino Hill's team was Lonzo Melo and Jello against Jalen Duren Ryan Nembhard and Jalen Hood Scafino if you put the 2001 Miami's defense and the 2019 LSU offense on one team, how many NFL games could they win? Zero. If they're in the NFL? Are you talking about in college? Zero. Zero. Bro, y 'all got us All right, we're not going to have this conversation, man. I'm not going to get my full pressure up. Because people actually think that a college team...
1:10:19Shannon Sharpe:Not a chance in here. OJ OG underscore Thanos said, is Kalen DeBoer already on the hot seat in the second year? Absolutely. Ocho, that's Alabama. They played Florida State. Ocho, that man has lost four to four unranked teams in two years. Coach Saban ain't lose that many in two decades. I mean because you have to understand and what did it what do they have in Alabama expect the standard is the standard I understand that I understand that
1:11:06Shannon Sharpe:J1 Cal said how great would Georgia be if they had both Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams they thought about I thought I think Ryan Smith thought about going to Ohio State didn't he I thought him and Jeremiah thought about teaming up and in that last second he ended up going to Alabama.
1:11:26Shannon Sharpe:Are both of them jugglers on the same team? Who's the quarterback? How about that? Can we get the quarterback? Yeah, where's the quarterback from? Who's the quarterback? That's the problem. Yeah. Ocho, MSQ said, how did both the Mavericks and the Cowboys manage to trade away Luka and Micah in the same year? Got a feel for Dallas.
1:11:51Shannon Sharpe:Well, hey, I don't know. But look, if AD can stay healthy, they did get Cooper flagged with the number one overall pick. Kyrie probably not going to come back until after in 2026, so maybe January, February. If he plays this season, Kyrie's going to want to be healthy. and so and I understand that but Luka no Michaels I think Luka is more of a if I had to say more of a transcendent generational transformative player guys like Luka don't come around man come on I mean Michael is maybe Michael is a top three or four player at his position Luka's a top five player in the NBA regardless of position
1:12:55Shannon Sharpe:Skeezy CA said who wins a wrestling match Unk or Ocho
1:13:04Ocho you don't know how to wrestle Unk I trained with Khabib for two years man I trained with Khabib when he was preparing for Conor McGregor what are you talking about
1:13:14Shannon Sharpe:Man, Ocho, I ain't gonna pick you and it's over. But I put you in a guillotine and choke you out. Man, don't do that, man. This is what I do. Ocho, you can't choke nobody out in wrestling. I said wrestling, not MMA wrestling. Oh, okay. My bad, my bad. Because my ground game is phenomenal. My ground, you know, I'm just... Ocho. Ocho, I'm gonna pick you, Ocho.
1:13:39Shannon Sharpe:Brody White said, what made you hop on the phone and call the National Guard? because the fans in New England was being unruly. We were beating the brakes off them, too. And, you know, we had come out of the game. We was up ahead. We were ahead. I think it was like probably like 10 minutes in the ballgame. We were up like 31 to 7 or something. And Mike said, that's it. And it was like, Sharp, Colts is better than you. At the time, Ben Colts was on the Patriots. And Ben and I was, you know, like I said, I had known Ben since college. I was a he was the only person that I showed around on a visit when they came to Savannah State I recommend that he not come if he wanted to play his freshman season and so he ended up going to Livingston and uh coach Davis a damn home I ain't gonna have you show nobody around you got them going someplace else I think coach I couldn't lie to him I said coach are you going to move me to tight end he said yes I said do you think he could beat me out no but he said lie to him we got to get good players.
1:14:37Shannon Sharpe:So my bad. I ain't know. So the fans, they were only saying Coach was better than me, and we were beating them. So I was like, you know what?
1:14:50Shannon Sharpe:I just picked up the phone. It just, red phone, because you already heard that the president had a red phone. Ain't nobody ever seen it, but they said the president got a red phone. I'm like, damn. So I was like, hey, red phone. All the phones on the bench is red, though. You know what I'm saying? Behind the bitch is red. So I just like, hey, just pick the phone up. And I hung the phone up. And it rang back. That's what really sold it, though, Joe. I was like, pretty much. Like I was talking to him before, Mr. President, hey, we need as many men as you can spare because we are killing the Patriots.
1:15:22Shannon Sharpe:So I need you to call these dogs. Oh, please. So I hung the phone up, say, hey, help is on the way. And then the phone rings back. And NFL Films captured that moment. It was, it blew up from there. They weren't very pleased with it. Mr. Kraft told me he said he wasn't very happy with me at that time. Lon said, finishing up with the Cowboys docusetion, it crystallizes everything you've been saying about Jerry Unk. Enlighten the chat. What else you guys may know?
1:15:53Shannon Sharpe:I don't know too much. I just know Jerry. I just know Jerry. It's Jerry. I don't know.
1:16:09Shannon Sharpe:creatures are they do what they do

1:17:30Shannon Sharpe:I can't. Next year. Now, I need about 18 months. Give me 18 months, Ocho, and I'm back. You know, right now, they revoked my license. Ocho, they took my license. They took my marriage license. I had a license. I was counseling couples. You're good. You're good. Listen. Give me 18 months, Chad. That's too long. That's too long. Okay, next year. What about next year this time? Next year. Okay, okay.
