In short

Nightcap Hour 2 reaction episode mixing sports talk, celebrity/athlete beef, video game ratings, and off-field controversies.

Guests (hosts/regulars)

Shannon Sharpe (former Broncos player; longtime “Mr. B” relationship with team owner Pat Bowlen; Hall of Fame experience), Chad “Ocho Cinco” Johnson (former Bengals WR; calls out Madden/EA topics), and “Iso Joe” (Joe Ellis is referenced; former Broncos executive/figure in Sharpe’s stories). The episode also includes commentary by “Gilly the Kid” and “RC” as subjects of the discussion (not guests).

Key claims

  1. Gilly responds to Cam Newton’s criticism of Jalen Hurts, calling Hurts a Super Bowl winner and mocking Cam personally (album/“bow tie” jabs).
  2. J’Marr Chase wants his Madden rating changed from 99 to higher (they discuss “99” and possible 100 scenarios).
  3. Personal trash talk can cross a line when it gets “no holds barred,” but it’s framed as contained to podcast/entertainment.
  4. Gambling and leaked playbook allegations are discussed as potentially real but unconfirmed.

Notable examples

  • Gilly’s “shut your… up” rant and “win a Super Bowl” argument.
  • Chase calling EA/Chad to fix his rating; Cooper Kupp triple crown cited.
  • Shannon Sharpe stories about Pat Bowlen refunding a mink purchase after a pregnancy revelation and arranging Hall of Fame/party logistics.
  • Leaked DM claim: Tajay Ra-El allegedly sending USTA QB Owen McCown a playbook (treated as unverified).

2:01Shannon Sharpe:Guys, just when you thought Cam and RC Beef was dead, Gilly the Kid. Hold my beer. Let's take a listen to what Gilly had to say in response to Cam, criticism of Jalen Hurts. Good day, Cam Newton. I seen you came at me because I said Jalen Hurts did what you couldn't do. That was win a Super Bowl. so you want to get all in your feelings man shut your tight jean wearing ass up man you had on a jersey with a bow tie you corny ass get out of here you will never be able to with jail and hurt you super goofy corny ass get out of here you what you do you want mvp won the super bowl win the super bowl mvp and you hating on him because he did what you couldn't do Win a Super Bowl!

2:55Shannon Sharpe:And he been to two of them! So when you hating on him, just know you wasn't better than him. You talking about, can you name one of my albums? You ain't gotta be able to name one of my albums. What's wrong with you? You in my space. You ain't bigger than me in this space. You a low-ass boy in this space. You a low-ass boy. I could come sign you. Damn. Hey, that's true. It was personal. Man, look, anybody ever met Gilly besides me? Anybody ever met Gilly besides me? I know Gilly. We done played basketball together. He got that energy all the time. He took that personal. He took that personal. He absolutely did.

3:45Shannon Sharpe:You know, Gilly got a ring, Ocho. Yeah, I saw it. The Eagles gave Gilly a ring. I saw it. That's where the idea came. You know, when the Bengals win the Super Bowl, I'm hoping they give me a ring. You know, being the team mascot, being the best ambassador for that organization, even though I don't play anymore. So I'm hoping I do get a ring this season. I don't hope you get a ring this season. I ain't going to lie to you, Ochoa. I hope you don't. Damn, Joe. What are you doing? I ain't, I'm just keeping it 100. I'm just keeping it 100, man. I can't sit here and say, I hope you get one. I don't know.

4:18No, I don't. Okay. I feel you. I feel you. That's cool. Yeah.

4:24Shannon Sharpe:I should have got one. I should have got Super Bowl 50 ring. Why? I could have. I mean, I'm asking you why, though.

4:34Shannon Sharpe:Why could I got one? You already got three. Why you need another one? I mean, that was nice, though. Nah, hey, listen. Look, I don't know what the type of relationship that you have with Mike Brown. I can pick up the phone and call him right now. But the relationship that I had with Mr. B? Yeah. Mr. B owned the Broncos from 1984 till I think the, the Walton Penner family brought it in 22. I want to say maybe 19, 19, 20, 22, something like that. 20, whatever. Other than John Elway, I defy you to find a player that Mr. B loved more than Shannon Sharp. Other than John Elway. Now that I think about it, now that you just said that, I like that.

5:22you said that. Now that, I would like that. Now, I'm going to raise you another one. If you were to ask Mike Brown, if you were to ask Katie, if you were to ask Troy, if you asked the rest of the family, their kids, what players do they love the most that play for that organization? Who do you think they're going to say?

5:49Shannon Sharpe:Shit, I mean, you posing the question, I guess you mean you. Who else? If you ask the fans, who did he love the most that has played for that organization? His kids, the young kids, are putting together a little something, and they ask me to sit down and speak for it. And his daughter, Brittany, I know all the kids, but they ask me to speak. And they say, Shannon, the reason why we ask you, and I'm going to ask, I'm going to speak with Brittany and asked, do she mind if I share the note that she wrote? She said, because our dad was so serious, except when he was around you.

6:33Shannon Sharpe:You come in the locker room, that's my domain. You get what everybody else get, bagged on. They respect that. And they respect that. Hey, you get on bus number two, if you break your ass back to the back, you getting it. anybody to come back to the back go get it whether you Mr. B whether you Mike Shanahan it didn't matter I will give you that work and they respected he respected that I did things and he told me he said only you would ever even think about that Rick said Sharpie ain't nobody else ain't nobody else got the brands to do what you just did but he appreciated that. And he took a liking to me even way before I became Shannon Sharp.

7:27Shannon Sharpe:Had a girl, my girlfriend and I, we're expecting that first. She found out she was pregnant. Okay. By this time, Ocho, I done went and bought her. She was like, Shannon, ooh, you know what I want? I said, what you want? She said, I want a fur coat. I said, your boy got you. I got you. Yeah. Hey, you know, I done went and got that mink. Mink? So I brought her a mink, Ocho. Well, you got money. She's talking about she don't feel well. I said, OK, well, let's go to the doctor. What means you don't feel well?

8:02Shannon Sharpe:The doctor come back and say, well, I know why you don't feel well. I said, doctor, why you don't feel well? What you know I don't know, doc. Doc said, congratulations. I'm like, you know the Broncos, they gonna give me a contract or something, but you talking about congratulations, what the hell you're talking about? Come on. Yes, sir. I swear, I swear, I said, congratulations on what? They said, your girlfriend's pregnant, congratulations. How you feel, Uncle? How you feel? How you feel? Bro, I just spent$12 ,000 on the mean coat. I need that money back. What the hell you mean how I felt? I felt sick to my stomach.

8:48Shannon Sharpe:Now we got two people in that mofo sick. They're not feeling well. Her and I. Hey, boy, listen. Hey. Hey, so Joe, so I tell them, I go back and I try to explain to the people. I said, look, I found out my girlfriend is pregnant, and I was wondering if I could get a refund. they said they're not gonna give me no refund I called Mr. B I said Mr. B I got a problem he always called me Sharpie or he called me 84 he said Sharpie what's going on I said Mr. B my girlfriend's pregnant and I purchased a fur coat not knowing that she was pregnant and it's we need baby supplies not a fur coat he said here I'm gonna give you my personal attorney.

9:36Shannon Sharpe:His name was Rich Slifka. If you're in Denver, you all know Rich Slifka. He was also in charge of Mr. Bowler's estate. Rich Slifka and Joe Ellis. I called Rich. He said, I expected you, Mr. Sharpe. He said, how you doing? I explained my situation. And today I got my money back. Yeah, you might be all right, man. He might look out for you. He might look out for you. Why you laughing? He might look out for you.

10:08Shannon Sharpe:oh yeah oh for sure oh for sure and uh when i retired i remember when i retired joe he asked me he said uh are you sure he's like uh you want to coach you want to do anything i said mr b i say for the first time in 26 years funny i want to do something other than play football i thought about doing something other than playing football he said sharpie he said if you ever need anything, he said, any game you want to go to, anything that's in this. I said, so who I need to call? He said, you don't need to call anybody. I said, Mr. B, I ain't got no credentials. He said, your face is your credential.

10:52Shannon Sharpe:That's what I'm talking about, man. Man, look here. Ocho, anything that was at mile high, any game, Super Bowl, I said, hey, I call, I say, the Super Bowl in New York. I call. I want to go to the Super Bowl. Gotcha. He's like, say, well, who you bringing? I say, I say, there ain't nobody. I say, who can I bring? He say, you got a suite. Man, Ocho, a 12-person suite is three people in there. Hey, sometimes it's me. Me? Yes. So guess what, Ocho? So guess what? Now we go to Super Bowl 50. They got their eyes beat out. I left early. New York, Seattle beat the brakes off them. So they go to San Francisco.

11:46Shannon Sharpe:Broncos against Cam. Hey, I want to go to the thing again. 12-person suite. Three people in there. I got field passes. I got a field path I go anywhere the celebration I'm on the field I'm on the field pregame I'm walking everywhere just wherever I want to go like I said I know he had a very special relationship with John but in the 30 plus years that he owned that team I was number two to number seven that's for sure and when I went to the hall of fame Ocho he called me I was like hello he's like Sharpie I said Mr. B how you get my number

12:41Shannon Sharpe:he said Sharpie there's not a whole lot that I can't get I said okay touche but he said he wanted to congratulate me that he was proud of me I don't know if y 'all know this Ocho it's expensive to go to the hall it costs you it costs to go to the hall so he said you know he said Sharpie call Lisa his secretary on Monday give her a ballpark idea man please 35 people he flew a man put him up the food the party the party all the food the alcohol he paid for it now you know you're gonna get the ring the ring how many people you want to bring i say mr b you know i got my kids i got my mom i got my sister i see my high school coach and his wife i got my uh spanish teacher her husband who was my junior high principal brought them all in that's loud yeah saturday night mike called me 84 what you doing i said uh we just sitting around mike we ain't doing nothing he said uh i want to throw you a party i said mike you ain't got to do that he said nah he's i got everything taken care of he said how many people you got i say it's about i said mike it's about 12 14 of us

14:20Shannon Sharpe:Ocho Alaskan king crab this long jumbo prawns this long steak, lobster I'm talking about everything that's why I'm saying it's so like when you got a relationship I call Mike Shanahan right now I call Kyle and get a job tomorrow 84 what you want to do I say I want to loaf until noon and then I want to loaf the rest of the day too. But I want to be on payroll while I'm doing it.

14:57Shannon Sharpe:Let me ask you, what y 'all think about this, Ocho? What y 'all think about Gilly? Cam, we saw RC's response to Cam. We saw Gilly's response to Cam. Joe, you weren't here. What's your response? I'm going to start with you first, Joe. Joe, what's your take on getting this spot? I just thought it was too personal of a shot. Because we can talk trash back and forth. You know, it could be a good sparring session, but I just think when it get personal, bro, I think it kind of draws a line. You know what I mean? So I don't know if he took it personal when Cam said something about him dropping an album.

15:38And I think it just kind of no holds bars. He just went berserk after that. Yeah. What'd you think, Ojo? You got to understand, Coach, you already know what time it is. You know? The eye meets the eye. You say the wrong thing, I'm going to say the wrong thing. You say the right thing, I'm going to say the right thing. Respect is earned. It's not given. Therefore, when you take shots, you have to be, you expect the other individual.

16:03Shannon Sharpe:Something coming back. Something's coming back. That's the space that we live in. Cam, he not going to back down. Gilly, we've known Gilly for a very long time. What he does, he's not going to back down. You say something, he going to say something back. You say something to Cam, he's going to say something back. Ryan, I'm sure, probably at some point, he's going to respond. I'm assuming so, or maybe not, because I'm assuming Ryan and Cam will probably have to see each other at some point on ESPN. But still, that's just one topic. It won't cause any feud in the work environment. Other than that, listen, it's entertainment at the end of the day.

16:37Nothing will probably happen outside of those mics and in that space of podcasting. so I think listen it's a good jabbing war it's like it's a good jabbing war may the best man win in that situation yeah I agree I agree with both of you guys I hate when it gets personal you know I hate when Cam you know Cam was a quarterback obviously his

17:01Shannon Sharpe:influence is going to be different than any other player on the field regardless where round was drafted regardless of how many pro bowls there's not any quarterback that's worth anything is going to have more value basically than anybody else cam was an mvp cam was a a multiple time pro bowl player yeah cam won the heisman camp up his accolades speak for themselves we don't know we don't need to go off to the list them and and and and and for me if cam had just stuck like look this is what i'm saying it's hard for me to evaluate jaylen hurt when he has so much talent around. I'm not saying that he's not talented, but it's easier for me to evaluate someone when they don't have as much talent, when they don't just have to turn around and hand the ball off and have Saquon hit his head on the goalpost from 80.

17:52Shannon Sharpe:Or he has these two receivers, that's Pro Bowl receivers. Or an offensive line that's as good as that's ever been assembled. Keep Ryan's

18:08Shannon Sharpe:accolades out of it ryan keep cam whether he did or did not jump on that football okay we know that we know cam didn't jump on the football and he said it if he could go back and do anything different in his playing career that's the one thing that he would have done so if we want to evaluate a a player evaluate the player says i this this is why this is why everybody's not gonna like your opinion because if you try you can try to appease everybody and the one person that's gonna be very disappointed and upset is you yeah because when you try to please everybody the only person that's hurting is you and disappointed you can't please everybody you can't it's nor should you attempt to hell nah gilly i look gilly my guy i i love gilly i love wallace wallow you know i talk to their brothers and they're good people they really are um gilly take things like to the eagles like and i've i've been i've been in a very similar situation one time before and uh it's probably one of the times that i regret something that somebody says something about a team or a player that you like, and then you take it personal.

19:32Shannon Sharpe:You take personal shots at them. And then you have to realize, okay, that might have been tied to his opinion. That's his opinion. Just because you feel passionate about this as a pro and he feels passionate about this as a negative, it doesn't make you more right than him. It doesn't make him more right than you. That's his opinion. I agree with you Joe I think when Cam like I think that's why all gloves went out for Gilly Gilly like well bro whoa whoa whoa whoa that's why he said you're not bigger than me in this and that's when it started to get real personal you can tell yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

20:19Shannon Sharpe:but we know it's gonna be It's going to be some back and forth, man. Jalen Hurts is a very polarizing figure because it's not like, you know, every other year. I mean, think about it. We had Doug Williams, and then we had a big low. So we got 87, and then we had to go all the way to 2012 before we got another. So we had to go almost three decades before we got another black to win the Super Bowl. Yeah. Yeah. At the quarterback. And then we got Mahomes, and now we got Jalen Hurts. So it's not like it's just littered. And so now it's like, you know, and I think maybe RC and maybe Gilly feel like, man, they being unfairly criticized.

21:10Shannon Sharpe:Because, excuse me, when Tom won his first Super Bowl, they applauded him. And he threw for a buck 42. but we're trying to find ways, but that's, I mean, when you're an analyst and when you know your job is to critique and analyze, the only thing I will say about this, and I, and I, this is what I always never went to journalism school. I didn't go to Syracuse. I didn't go to Missouri. I didn't go to any one of these fancy journalism school, but this is what I do know. Never become part of the story. You see now cam Ryan are part of the Jalen Hurst story. This should be about Jalen Hurst. but they've become a part of the story.

21:55Shannon Sharpe:You stay away from the story. You talk about it. You critique, you analyze, but you don't become a part of it. But the critiquing and the analyzation is why they're part of the Jalen Hurst story though. No, you can do that. But see, now we're not talking about them. We're talking about what Cam and RC going back and forth. Cam and Gilly, the kid going back and forth. I mean, they're going to squash that. That ain't, that ain't nothing. That's all talk. They're going to squash it. It's not going anywhere outside of the space in which we're doing right now and that's podcasting. That's a good thing.

22:31I agree.

22:33Shannon Sharpe:You see, that podcast doesn't got to be serious as sports. Absolutely. Everybody got a mic. Everybody got something to say. Everybody like, hey, we the king of this and we the king of that and we started this and we started that. I don't know. I don't know who started what, but there's enough for everybody to give them. That it is.

23:04Shannon Sharpe:There's enough. Hey, Henry Ford invented, well, he didn't invent the car. He's the first American, but there's Mercedes. So you got Mercedes, you got BMW, you got Ferrari, you got Lamborghini, you got Ford, you got Chevy, you got Tesla. And Tesla only came, Tesla is less than 20 years old. And 10 times the value of damn near every, Tesla can buy all the car dealerships. Every BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lambo, and it's last to the market.

23:45Shannon Sharpe:But I hope you're right on that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know it ain't. I hope you're right. I'm going to take your word for it. Because, hey, you know how we are, Ocho. We don't like to let stuff go. I don't like losing, Ocho. I didn't say they were going to let it go. I said it's not going anywhere outside of the space of what we actually do. That's that camera. If it's going to continue, it's going to continue here, which is a good thing. It's entertaining. It's fun. It's attracting eyes and viewers to each said individuals podcast or people wanting to hear what's being said whether whether it's good or whether it's bad and at some point it'll die out because football season is right around the corner you're right about that

24:32Shannon Sharpe:yeah but you man hey there's something about us man we we a we polarizing the fake jalen hurts uh lamar jackson man those conversations around those individuals you just named it gets very passionate. It gets very passionate.

24:57Shannon Sharpe:We need to find me somebody that's passionate about me like they passionate about Lamar and Jay Hurts.

25:12Shannon Sharpe:No, I don't want nothing. I'll tussle for you, man. Don't do that. you good I gotta make sure I turn this air on I don't know what has going on down here damn I feel like Ocho oh I don't man listen when the show is on there's two things I'm not gonna do I'm not gonna be using my electricity and my AC unit at the same time I ain't finna run my god damn bill sky high shit me yeah I'll be running my sky high no sir it's gonna be one or the other Hold on, hold on. So you come home, Ocho, and it'd be hot as all no water in the house. Yeah, man, listen. My light bill will never be over$100. Never, ever.

29:03Yeah.

29:04Shannon Sharpe:All right, Ocho. Jamar Chase, ESPN's top-rated receiver, has a bone to pick with Madden ratings adjuster Ocho Seco. That's me. That's me. And his rating of him. Let's take a listen to what Jamar had to say. I think I caught my rating, and I called Chad right away, and I told him this is the wrong rating. What was wrong about him? It was 99. Did he say he was going to fix it? I hope he is. I mean, if he don't, I'm going to be mad at him. Hey, I'm with him on that. I agree. I think it should be by 99. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Hold on, man. Hold on. Now, listen. What everyone did last season, right?

29:43Obviously, the updates will be in the new game. The new game ain't even out yet. He's a 98. His rating is based on what. He'll be 99 then.

29:53Shannon Sharpe:I don't know yet. Based on. I know. because when Cooper Cupp won his triple crown, he was 99. Let me finish. That was the following season after the triple crown. He might get that 100. He might get that 100, huh, Ocho? Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. I ain't a 100. Stop it 99. That reserved for me, Joe. Hold on. Let me finish. Let me finish, though. Listen. So, Chase, he called me with a little A in his chest. Yeah? What I did, you look at a little A in your chest, so I blocked him. Yeah. Yeah, so I had to block him. Like, listen, wait a minute. Hold on. Tighten up now, young fella. Hold on, young dude.

30:24Hold on. Hold on. I'm going to go back to my team. I'm going to talk about, I'm going to talk with my team over at EA and we're going to discuss and see what we're going to do later on in the future. You really over the rankings? Oh, yeah. Only for the skill position. Yeah, he wanted to adjust it. Only for the skill position. Receivers, DBs. Yeah, only receivers and DBs. I got a question. I'm saying, so can you make somebody 100 and then like to where you can't even create? No, 99. No, the high you get, not 99.

30:56Shannon Sharpe:but I know a guy that's on here talking to you Joe that was a hundy what the Ocho what the hundy Ocho you was alright y 'all need to give me something y 'all need to grandfather me give me something for that I need something to hang on my wall I tell you what you send me my gifts we'll make something special for you in the game Oh man, come on. Hold on. Listen, I told you, listen, do me a small favor. Send me my awards and I'll send you money. Hey, Ojo, where my money at? What I owe you, what? For the finals, bro. Oh, how much I owe you, Joe? Well, we went game for game. I think we had like seven games.

31:49I think we had like 700, 700, something like that. They're hunting. They're dating people. Joe, it was each game. What you talking about, Joe? Joe tried to get.

32:01Shannon Sharpe:Joe tried to get. Joe tried to say he won all seven games.

32:10Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Joe, you doing it, Joe? Listen, you owe Joe 100. You owe Joe 100. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Joe, you trying to rob me, Joe? But it got to at least put a little interest on it. Come on now, Ocho. Joe, football season about to start back up and you still ain't paid, man. That's a violation, bro. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Stay with me now. Stay with me, Joe. I promise you when I come there for week one and we go to the Falcons game against Tampa Bay, boom. There it is. You going to roll with us on? I got it. Come on now. What happened? Are you going to go into the game? What game? Week one at the Falcons and the Bucs.

32:50Shannon Sharpe:Ocho Ocho man I can't be going to no games man look I like watching the game I get better enjoyment watching the game man man we can work I don't man I'm bougie as hell man hey Joe we'll go to the game I can get a sideline passing Joe we'll get sideline passes Joe can't stand on the damn sideline with that bum ass I'm going to push him in the field here What you mean? Hey Joe. Joe, you just had surgery. You were, you were, you not weight bear. For the first six weeks, I got a wet little splint on my, on my leg. But once I got, September. Exactly. You do gonna be right now. I'm gonna be getting up out this splint and boo wee.

33:41Shannon Sharpe:Nah, Joe. And guess what? Guess what? You do realize when you're on the sideline, you got a dog. You want me to stay home? Just tell me to stay home. Hey, hey, all right. No, I want you to get your ass up and get your ass up in the suite. No, I'm talking about in pregame. Joe, I'm going to push you in the wheelchair on the sideline and say we're going to play. You ain't doing nothing. You think I'm going to go in there like, nah, nah, nah. Now you're good. You know, you can be cool in the wheelchair now. Hey, in the wheelchair like Paul. If I got to go anywhere in the wheelchair, I might want to stay home.

34:12I ain't doing it. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Nah, nah. Go with this man.

34:23Wow.

34:24Shannon Sharpe:Hold on. There's a report. DMs have leaked showing former Memphis DB Tajay Ra-El allegedly sending USTA's quarterback Owen McCown their team's playbook for their game. And you think that's real, that's AI. You know, man, technology is so advanced. Here you go, though. That's all the signals. Far left is coverages. I've seen you a better list showing the call, but when they run quarters and none, the safeties can throw between. No end rerolls and slide, blah, blah, blah. Let me know.

35:03Shannon Sharpe:USTA, I think that's University of Texas, San Antonio, ending up winning the game, 34-36. What do you boy got going on, man? You think that's real, though? has this been confirmed allegedly I don't know because if this was real it would have made a lot more noise and caught a lot more traction I don't know if it's we have to see when it got released because maybe nobody knew about it damn I don't know what's going on in the cast today man they having a good time I'm out here, Ocho. And these boys in college living they best life, man. We're trying something. Oh yeah. Yeah, do you see the story about Malik Beasley, how he owed these people money, he owed the barber 20 something thousand dollars.

35:55Shannon Sharpe:I'm like, how much demand? If you owe a barber 20 something thousand dollars, you ain't paid this man since you was a kid all the way to now. This man done cut your hair for 30 years for free. Ain't no way in the hell. He must do something else besides cut hair too. Ain't no way in the hell. Yeah, man, I'm like, come on bro. Look, I mean, normally you fly the guy. I don't know how you guys do it. But the way it works, like if you fly your barber out, you have to pay him for all the haircuts that he missed. So if he comes out, he's going to cut hair on Friday. He's going to cut hair on Saturday.

36:28Shannon Sharpe:You making him miss that. You got to compensate that man for that. That's what I did. I fly my barber out. I fly him in. I give him a rental car. And all the haircuts, all the money that he would have made cut, I compensated for that. Massage therapist, it's the same thing. So I don't know. You can't fly a barber out and say, okay, bro, here's$100. Or here's$300. No. You have to pay him for the cuts that he lost out on Friday and Saturday. That's right. Even if you even buy his flight, yeah. Yeah. Yes. And you put him up. I mean, Joe stayed at the house. but when I was in Baltimore I would fly him in he's from Harrisburg Joe would come in he cut my hair like September like September the 1st of October we started losing I said Ian you bad luck you can come in but you ain't cut my hair no more I got him a rental car he go see his he go to Harrisburg like a 40 minute drive I see him at the game he up out of there but$28 ,000 how you get up to that number I don't know I don't either joke I don't either I don't know what these guys on man man listen that's a lot of bread $28 ,000 for haircut that's why I say he gotta do something on and cut hair I can't relate you know I cut my own hair I got my T-liner clippers I got my T-liner clippers I've had for years and whenever I got to go somewhere I just cut it myself matter of fact I need a haircut right now I gotta shoot to New York tomorrow I gotta shoot to New York tomorrow All the way to Monday Take care of my business, I'm gonna shave up, do some stuff Man United I'm gonna watch Man United play I'm doing some stuff with ESPN on Monday So I'm gonna be on ESPN, I'm gonna get my makeup Get my headlined together Do that, what not So You know Like I said, I don't know if there's any truth for this But if it, I mean it's gonna come out but guys you're going to get pinged if you're an athlete and they're like hold on, somebody keep betting the under or somebody keep betting this there's a pattern to this Ocho and you Ocho but you're making 16, you're making 7, 8 10 million dollars, come on man y 'all willing to risk that gambling, y 'all know how gambling, y 'all know that's taboo Ocho in sports you could do a lot of things but you can't you you can't you can't do that yeah yeah listen um everybody has advice um and a lot of players have advice when it comes to gambling i'm not sure what a lot of players have a uh advice when it comes to um uh drinking i'm not sure if that's advice or considered advice but anytime it gets in the way of what you do and it gets in the way yes absolutely it's harmful uh i don't see how i don't see how gambling could be that exciting when you make such when you make such an uh abnormal amount of money to where the small amount you make gambling is it wouldn't be that fun how is it even that that that fun but i i don't know um it's i get game i get game you play in poker you play in blackjack a million dollars a hand.

39:58Shannon Sharpe:So in 30 seconds, boom, I want a million dollars. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Tell me about who the hell playing blackjack with a million dollars a hand. Oh, they're people that play $250 ,000,$500 ,000. Yeah, they're called whales. Like a video game or real life? Real life. But they got video game poker, too. Ain't nobody paying no million. Come on, man. Come on, now. Come on, now. Come on, man. I'm talking about the back room back then. They playing back then. Oh yeah, for sure. Oh yeah, them big whales come in there? Big who? They'll mess up your quarterly earnings. Mm-hmm. Baccarat? Yeah.

40:35Shannon Sharpe:Poker, they come in there? Oh yeah. Because it's the excitement. It's the thrill of it. It's like skydiving. It's like, you know, racing cars or something like that. You get an adrenaline rush. Where is the goddamn excitement and adrenaline rush in losing a million to 500 ,000 in one hand? but what if you win a million dollars 500 000 who got the goddamn money come on all right that ain't my business boy they got plenty of people got money like that

41:07Shannon Sharpe:there used to be a place out there on uh binions binion was the only place that i've ever heard that your first bet could be it so if you come in there and says i want to bet a million dollars on the crap table on the blackjack table he would accept it Shh. Hey, any - You ought to go to Vegas and let them tell you the story about a dude named Arnie. There's a dude named Arnie, and he had - You're like, Arnie, Arnie. Arnie, Arnie. Ornstein, you thought of football? No, not Arnie. Arnie. His name was Arnie. He was an immigrant. But anyway, he was up on the horseshoe probably$30,$40 million. Huh?

41:50Shannon Sharpe:they had they had to go to his room to get$5 ,000 and$2 ,500 chips because he had them all he wasn't satisfied he said I want all the money he lost it all back

42:05Shannon Sharpe:yeah like he was up like$30 -$40 million he did ass and he lost it all back lost it all back where he at you'd be a hot tail limp out of that window yes oh yeah I wouldn't have been there taking that goddamn chance because if you got the money to be able to bet that what the fuck I'm doing in the first place oh show that you see like you do like your excitement you say you like riding bulls you like doing things for excitement there you go see matter of fact hey do me a favor if what somebody's gonna see this for those of you that are whales if you see this could you please send me a DM. I would love just to sit there and watch.

42:51That's exciting to me. You might be bad luck. Why would I be bad luck? Everything I touch turns to gold. Well, yeah, yeah.

43:02Shannon Sharpe:Larry Flint used to be it. Who was Larry Flint? Used to be, what was it, Penthouse or Hustle? Oh, I know you're talking about it. Okay, okay, okay. Yeah, okay, I know you're talking about it. Kerry Packard, the Australian billionaire. They probably, they doing it for fun, man. I mean, they want to win a little bit, but they don't mind losing a few. Man, you see Drake, man, you see Drake be betting$500 ,000 a million on stuff. Floyd Mayweather. I've heard the Jordan stories, but Jordan, his revenue, his stream of income is different. He can stand and look for that. guys that's betting, they got way more.

43:44Shannon Sharpe:But the guys that be betting like this, they got more money than Jordan. What? Yeah. It's the thrill, man. The thrill. They get a thrill. Yeah, they do. Yeah. That ain't me. No. I stopped. I used to go out there. You know, I'd go out there and bet. You know, I'd bet, you know. Hey. I was like, hey. Shannon in the NFL. Shannon got kids in private school. Shannon got kids going to college. That's college for him. Hey, listen. I'm putting out a PSA. if you are well and you you you gamble i would love i would i just i just want to see it i just want to be there i obviously you know i don't know you know who you know who gambles like that gambles like 75 100 150 thousand dollars a hand dana white yeah yeah yeah that see i'm not trying to see that huh i ain't trying to see that i'm trying to see the people that gamble 500 000 to million dollars a hand i want to see i want to see that in person they uh a lot of times they they like they don't want people to know because they don't want nobody the casino to get them what you mean get them huh so i fly so i fly you in on a private jet i pick you up bring you in because i don't if you got that kind of money i don't want the other casinos to know you oh okay okay okay okay okay okay i don't want i don't want nobody to know who you are that's that's that's damn you're gonna keep that to myself hey speaking of gambling speaking of gambling i mean obviously i don't do it but this movie was phenomenal this movie was very very good what round the gambler please tell me you saw the gambler we had to go into the shark and i think he went to his mama for the last three that uh i think her last 250 000 she said this is the last 250 000 i'm gonna give you he got beat up by the shark uh michael k mike k williams was in it Oh man, that movie was good.

45:31And that was like, people in the real world can't be like this. That's impossible. You lost money, then you go borrow money again.

45:43Shannon Sharpe:That's how you get in debt to the shark. That's how you get in debt to the man. I don't want no part of it. I don't want no. You remember the movie Rounders, right? I never saw that one. I never saw that. Oh, man. Matt Damon, he played. And Ed Norton. You gotta watch that. Hey, Edward Norton was in it? Ed Norton, yeah. Wait, Edward Norton, the one from Primo Fear with Richard Gere? Yes. He can act, boy. He can act. I like him. I got it. Rounders? Rounders. It's real good. Hey, hey! When you're teeing off and your clients are watching, it's on. When the game goes to overtime and your squad is right there with you, it's on.

48:47Shannon Sharpe:Dwayne Wade says Kobe is a top three player of all time and goes off on Bleacher Report for ranking him 11th on their all-time list if you ask us Hooper who played against Cole all of us are going to talk top three of all time I agree yeah so what about the guys that played against Kareem where are we gonna rank Kareem all the guys that played all the guys that played against Jordan. I'm not saying Kobe should be 11th. Look, whatever the case may be, but you see with Jordan. Jordan got number one, and I think the lowest he ranked was like two or three. LeBron, the highest he ranked was two. Maybe the lowest he ranked was like three.

49:33Shannon Sharpe:So for the most part, people have been having Jordan going back and forth. Okay, wherever you go. Look, you can debate this until the cows come home. And I've said this, Joe, the guy that gets undervalued the most is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Yep, I agree. Because he had the scoring record for the longest. Had it for 40 years until LeBron broke it. Yeah, what do you got? He had it for almost 40 years. Nobody thought, they didn't think nobody, first of all, big guys played that long because after you get to a certain point, hey, Kareem, hey, Kareem get the rebound and kick it out. Hey, Magic will hold that thing up, let Kareem get down there to the block.

50:16Shannon Sharpe:Kareem throw that hand up, they throw it to him. He throw the sky hook, go back down. Nobody thought anybody was going to break it because even when Karl Malone got close, Karl Malone's body fell apart. Kobe started falling apart. Jordan, body started breaking down. So there ain't nobody going to break it. they didn't think nobody could break it but he got six MVPs six he got more than anybody and back then that was the last year that the players were allowed to vote the players didn't vote for the MVP Joe they don't let it happen no more no because in 62 was it 62 I think no I don't understand why the players can't vote.

51:07They think it's favoritism? You don't think they'll keep it real?

51:14Shannon Sharpe:Nope, they're not because of my friend, my buddy. That's how it was for the Pro Bowl. Hey, my man, make sure you vote for such and such. No, y 'all ain't going to keep it real. Let's be real. We got friends, and they on the ballot. I'm going to vote for them. Hey, plus he had a contract year knowing that if he makes first or second team all NBA, guess what he gets? He gets a superman contract. But then here's the thing. Then we leave it in the hands of people who've never played the sport before. And now you're still going to have a drawback from that. Yeah, you're not going to be able to appease everybody.

51:50Shannon Sharpe:Somebody's going to be upset with what you say. So let me ask you this, Joe. You played the game. Where were you ranked? In front of all those guys.

52:02Shannon Sharpe:So you got him in the top five? I was thinking more like two guard-ish. I didn't know we was talking about like the whole league. Yeah, because they didn't rank position. They ranked the top, what was it, the top 25, the top 100? Ash, can you pop the list up right? Oh, here it is. There was a top 100. Number one was Michael Jordan. Number two was LeBron James. Number three was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Number four was Magic Johnson. Number five was Shaquille O 'Neal. Number seven is Tim Duncan. Number 11 is Larry Bird. Number nine is Wilt Chamberlain. Number 10 is Stephen Curry. Number 11 was Kobe Bryant.

52:44That's tough.

52:48I don't know. I'm going to have to put him in that top 10. I don't know who I'm taking now.

52:55Shannon Sharpe:You better see that's the thing Ocho what we do If you bring somebody in What's that What is that You can see that It's blurry What is it Me and Kobe sitting there arguing at news cafe Yeah Who you taking out You taking out Jordan You taking out LeBron Kareem, Magic, Russell, Shaq Duncan, Bird, Will Curry

53:29Shannon Sharpe:because I guarantee you guys that played against Magic Johnson say Magic Johnson coming out of the top five guys that played against Shaq, Tim Duncan is very underrated very underrated Larry Bird I mean what we doing with Will Will average what did Will average he won MVP as a rookie I think he averaged like 40 and 27

54:00Shannon Sharpe:who gonna get 24 ,000 rebounds the numbers he put up was you might as well just start over say you know what we want somebody to really realistically have a chance of getting rebounds and so because you're not gonna get it but even if you did that ain't nobody gonna catch Kareem ain't nobody okay ain't no there ain't no rebounders first of all the guys shoot too well now they don't miss that many shots in order for you to get the will got the record with 55 rebounds in a game nobody's getting 55 rebounds in a game i can't i can't remember i don't know if anybody i can't i think the most rebounds i think somebody's gotten that i can remember is probably 34 35 so just think you still 15 rebounds short so you're not going to get that the question is if we put kobe in the top 10 who we take it out that's a good question because if you if you look if you look at it if you look at let's let's be real only two guys only one guy in the top 10 got one regular season MVP.

55:11Shannon Sharpe:That's Shaq. But he got three postseason MVPs. Mike got five. Jordan got four. Kareem's got six. Magic's got three. Russell's got five. Duncan's got three. Duncan's got two MVPs, I think. Two with regular season. Bird got three. Wilt has four. Steph Curry has two. Okay? Finals MVPs. Jordan has six. LeBron has four. Kareem has two. Magic has three. They didn't have that with Russell. Shaq has three. Duncan has three. Bird has two. They didn't have that. I think Wilt had a chance to get it once.

55:58Shannon Sharpe:So Curry has one finals MVP. It's tougher than you think. it really is because it can't just be about scoring it's got to be about all-star games finals finals mvps regular season mvps all nbas i think all that has to factor in so what so let's just say for the sake of argument we're gonna put him in that we're going to put him in the top 11. Are we kicking Steph out? Are we kicking Will out? We kicking Larry out? We kicking Duncan, Shaq, Russell, Magic? I got to get Bean in there some way, somehow. Well, you got to take somebody out. It's okay if you take LeBron, Jordan, Kareem, Magic.

56:53Shannon Sharpe:We're going to get him in, but we're going to get him in at Dale's expense. Chad, who y 'all want out? Who are we kicking out, Chad? After the chat, who we kick it out to get Kobe in the top 10?

57:13Shannon Sharpe:I just think I think it's hard. I think it's hard. Yeah. And errors errors makes it difficult. Because people like, well, I can't take Bill Russell. He got 11 championships. He got 11 championships and five MVPs.

57:35Shannon Sharpe:Shaq was as dominant as anybody's ever played the game Tim Duncan two and three 15 time all defensive selection Burr was the last guy to win three consecutive MVPs Wilt won four Steph got two that's a hell of a class to be in yeah Chad is saying Take Steph out to put Kobe in there. Mm-hmm. Hey, I don't understand why Kobe Bryant is getting so much disrespect with all these lists, with him being straight. What's disrespect for Ojo? The people that actually played against Kobe actually have him much higher than those that didn't play against him. But here's the thing. a lot of this happened when Kobe passed because I remember when Kobe was alive people said he was a ball hog and he was selfish the very people that said he was a ball hog and selfish they praised and lauded him they praised and lauded him in depth when they didn't give him that praise and adulation when he was alive okay they say Kobe is top three so D-Wade who are you taking out of the top three you taking Jordan, LeBron or Kareem out because you said he's top three.

58:58Shannon Sharpe:That's what I need to do. He ain't taking neither one of them. Listen, knowing D-Wade, just based off, he would probably take Kareem out. The man that was the all-time leading scorer? Despite exactly what you're getting ready to say, yes. With six MVPs? Yes. With five championships? Yes. The all-time leading scorer? He ain't taking them out, Ojo. You don't think so? You take a LeBron out. Four regular season MVPs. Four finals MVPs. 21-time All-Star. No, 21-time All-Star. 21-time All-NBA selection. You know what? Three finals, three All-Star game MVPs. You taking Jordan now. Ten-time scoring. Seven, eight.

59:52Shannon Sharpe:Okay. So I just want to know. D-Wade said he's top three. I just want to know who he's taking out of the top three to put Kobe in. I'm going to have to ask D-Wade that. I don't know. I'm having a hard time getting him in the top three.

1:00:11Hey, you know what? I'm finna ask him.

1:00:17Shannon Sharpe:Because the way you do it, like, okay, such and such should have made it. Because y 'all do something, Joe. such and such should have made the all-star game. If I take the all-star team, if I put him in, who am I taking out? Ocho, we do this all the time with the Pro Bowl. Ocho say, man, such and such should have made it. I say, well, Ocho, who you taking out? I get it. Yeah, it gets tough. So forget the top 10. D-Wade didn't say he should have been top 10. D-Wade said he should have been top three. So with that being said, that means Jordan, LeBron, or Kareem has to come out. There's no way around it.

1:00:57Shannon Sharpe:Because you can't have I don't think, maybe they did a little later now, but nobody would, they had, you know, okay, two guys at number four, two guys at number 12 or 13. Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He prayed on.

1:01:17I'm telling you who he's taking out. You know he ain't taking out Jordan. and you know he ain't taking out LeBron. He's taking out Kareem. He's going to take out Kareem despite all the accolades that you just ran down. I guarantee you.

1:01:34Shannon Sharpe:People don't realize how good Kareem was.

1:01:39Shannon Sharpe:He was going to win the third MVP had he not messed his ankle up. Because go back and look at the numbers. When Magic won the finals MVP, go back and look at Kareem's numbers. Bowler. 33 and 14. That's what he was averaging.

1:01:58Yeah.

1:01:59Shannon Sharpe:Kareem had some years where he was 32 and 16. Like I said, just go back and look at Kareem's career. Look, I understand. A lot of people didn't like Kareem. A lot of people didn't like that he changed his name because he wasn't originally Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He was a very surly. He didn't get along with a lot. Kareem ain't take no junk. Go back. You did something to Kareem, Kareem was punching you in your face. It was really that simple. He rubbed a lot of reports. That's why he didn't get no job. That's why he didn't get no head coaching job. Think about it. All the greats that wanted to coach, got an opportunity to coach.

1:02:31Shannon Sharpe:Bill Russell, Sam Jones, Jerry West, Casey Jones, Tom Heinsohn. There were a lot of greats. Elgin Baylor. A lot of the greats that wanted to. Kareem never got that opportunity. Damn. Larry Bird. Magic Johnson.

1:02:53Shannon Sharpe:he was a bad boy man he probably had the one the media didn't like the media the players loved him the players loved him you know how I know the players loved him Ocho they voted him six times MVP yeah but that's what I G. Wade the nightcap crew Ocho Joe and myself you said Kobe is top three I need to know who you're taking out of that top three. That's it. Somebody's got to come out. You can't have four guys in the top three. I'm going to tell you now. MJ made the game sexy. He ain't taking MJ out of there. Okay.

1:03:42You know he ain't taking Bron out of there. That man, every bucket he score is in history books. like everything he just

1:03:51Shannon Sharpe:he got a Joe he got a cake and he done got icing on it and all he do is just keep every time every time he touch the flow yep he gonna be making it he making it harder and harder for the next person who even think they gonna catch him yes and the all-star games do you realize the man got 21 straight start all-star game starts it's not gonna happen ladies and gentlemen no sir And Kareem got 19 starts in the All-Star game. Shaq has some words for Rudy Gobert. Let's take a listen to what Shaq had to say about Rudy. I hate Rudy Gobert. Why don't you like Rudy, though? Because I'm a f***ing man in 250.

1:04:35You don't deserve it, though. As the president of the Big Man Lions, you're making big money. Play like a f***ing big man. That's it. Play like a f***ing big man. Throw some bowls. Knock some people out. don't be letting little white dudes from Denver dunk on you and talk to you. Then you got to grab them by the neck in the last second. Come on, bro. That's it. If you're going to get paid big money, play big.

1:04:56Shannon Sharpe:I just want Shaq to still be on TV when Rudy gets into the Hall of Fame because it's going to. If Rudy Gobert gets into the Hall of Fame. He is. If Rudy Gobert gets into the Hall of Fame, I'll wear this dress to the motherfucking ceremony. Get ready, Shaq. Hey, look. Get ready, Shaq. Hey, look. Look, I think with Shaq, because Rudy's not an offensive guy, meaning he ain't shooting the ball outside the paint. So they ain't never going to give Rudy no credit on that. He is a defensive being. No. Hey, timing is everything, man. You know, he came along at the right time. But if you're looking for him to offensively wow you when you think he has a mismatch, I think that's kind of like what Shaq thinking.

1:05:39He's like, man, he ain't dominating the game. Like, you're getting paid$200-something million. and you can't dominate?

1:05:47Shannon Sharpe:Shaq was going up two people, three people. If you didn't have at least three people on Shaq, Shaq was going up. It wasn't even fair. Every team that Shaq played against, they had three bigs. They had 18 fouls to give, Ocho. Yeah. Because two guys fouling out. Or they're going to have 10 fouls. Oh, Ocho, I came in at 0-1. Shaq was still in the prime of him. That was the apex Shaq. 2001, two, three? Yeah. You can give it up, brother. We're going to try to give you as much help as we can. You got to fight him. Yeah. It was unreal to try to stop that dude. He was so huge and agile. I was like, it was unreal, bro.

1:06:30It was unreal. All right, that's funny. Shaq.

1:06:36Shannon Sharpe:Shaq ain't going to let it go. And the thing is, here's the problem that you run into. deserve I mean deserve is a very very tricky word because sometimes we get God's mercy and grace when we don't deserve it

1:06:57Shannon Sharpe:I look at it like this my notepad man Rudy's earned the money based on what they pay his body of work he's earned 100 million 200 million whatever they pay him Shaq ain't no Shaq if you waiting on somebody to be like you you never gonna see it with your own eyes in your lifetime analytically when they look at it from that point of view he dominates the game you know what I mean so they looking at it from a different perspective nowadays but I kind of understand what Shaq is talking about but Rudy's just not an offensive guy bro he ain't scoring outside that paint period and you know what it is Joe and it looks worse in this era because the scoring is up see if he was back in Shaq's era he'd been perfect because they never say anything about Rick Smith they didn't say anything about Dwight Howard but Dwight had some years where he was 20 he averaged 20 points and 12-14 rebounds so Dwight Howard was always more of an offensive threat than Rudy Gobert but you look at Ben Wallace yeah so he's looking at it in today's time when you got four or five guys averaging 30 and you got 15 20 30 20 guys averaging 20 and shaq like bro you 7-3 you 7-1-7-3 and bro you giving 12 points a game and so shaq can look at it like bro for 250 if they didn't shaq's looking at it That's what Shaq's thinking.

1:08:35Shannon Sharpe:Shaq said, if they had played me 250, I'd get 40 or not. Absolutely. Absolutely. That's what Shaq's thinking. Hey, y 'all don't think these guys look at these contracts and the money that these dudes making nowadays, if y 'all don't think they look at it and kind of frown upon it, some of them, they can't help it because you can only put yourself in that position like, man, if I was around this time, I'd be making X amount of, you know what I mean? Yeah. Yes. But what you think, what you think, Will and Mr. Russell was thinking? when they're making$20 ,000 a year and they see guys making$17 ,000,$18 million a year.

1:09:09Shannon Sharpe:The same thing, I mean, look, I'm looking at these guys now. We talked about George Kittle. He's making$19 million. Ozzie and Kellen and Mike Ditka and John Mackey, they looking at me when I was making the money I was making. And guess what? in 10 years from now, there's going to be a guy making$100 million a year in basketball. A hundy. Because they say Ant-Man could possibly be making $82 million in 2027 season. 27-28, Ant-Man could possibly get the highest contract. $82 million a year. A million dollars a game. Yeah, man. Hey, man, we have to pay respects to the people who came before us because, man...

1:09:57Yes! Hey, the money of these dudes make it now, boy. Hey.

1:10:04It's ridiculous.

1:10:07Shannon Sharpe:Shaq also bet Mike Tyson that Clay Thompson's new relationship with Meg DeStallion won't last more than six weeks. Man, she watch Shaq being, man. Why Shaq acting like this? Hey, man, just give us an opinion, man. Clay, Clay, Clay, out there in the gym, they going golfing, they doing all kind of stuff. Yeah, I'm happy for him. Clayton Living's best life, man. He ain't just a young. I mean, that's it. Yeah, yeah.

1:10:41Shannon Sharpe:I think it's different now. I think with social media, do I think like athletes dated like celebs and entertainers? Sure, but they kept it hush-hush. Now, you can get a picture anywhere now. Yeah, yeah. Now, I think now, Joe and Ocho, it's, hey, you cross or you're an athlete or something, you want to date a Meg DeStaglia or you want to date a Glorilla or you want to date, you know, whomever. I don't want to throw nobody's name out there because, you know, somebody tried to be messy. But I'm just saying, if you were an athlete and you were – Saltz Gardner is dating somebody. He dating somebody.

1:11:23Shannon Sharpe:What, Iceman? Iceman. Yeah. Yeah, so in a situation like that, you go out to eat, y 'all might just be in the, as my grandma say, the coding phase. Y 'all, you don't know, you know what I mean? You can't do nothing nowadays, Ocho. Nah, nah, nah. Nah, but listen, if you want to hide, hiding is possible. If you really want to hide. Yeah. But see, but here's the thing, Ocho. A lot of people are like, what you hide me from? Do you got something that you tried me, you don't want people to know about me? You got somebody over here? Nah, they ain't all the time, man. I know. Some people just like their privacy, bro.

1:12:07They do, Ocho. Everybody don't want to be like you out there like that. Ocho, dead serious, bro. Some people really like to chill, bro. They don't really be in there for the hooping and hollering, bro, for real. Yeah, okay. All right. I'ma let y 'all go. This bad be old. This boy be wild. So you mean, tell me nowadays, when people date, if I ain't got you splattered all over my profile, then I'm doing something. Matter of fact, even if you are splattered all over profile, it ain't stopping nothing. It ain't changing nothing. It ain't changing nothing. What you not going to do is sit on here and act like, come on now.

1:12:48No, Ocho

1:12:50Shannon Sharpe:I'm not saying that that doesn't happen But some people like their privacy That's all Everybody don't want to date publicly Everybody don't want to be in a public relationship Because guess what The moment you make it public Everybody feel like they have the ability to chime in And so if you break up If you break up If you date publicly What you got to do, how you break up, Ocho? Nothing wrong, probably Probably. But everybody don't like that, Ocho. I like it. It don't bother me. I like it. Okay, that's you. I go through the same stuff that regular people. I'm regular too, but we all go through the same shit.

1:13:28What am I hiding for? It ain't that hiding. It just didn't deal with it internally. It ain't necessarily... Nah, nah. Just like when you say, hey, some people grieve differently. Listen, it's good though if you date publicly and you break up publicly then you have your supporters to help you cope. See, boom, there you go. See? Why you want to break up and then you sitting at home crying You ain't got to be doing all that.

1:13:55Shannon Sharpe:You ain't got to do all that. And who's to say you're not doing that even though you're putting on that front? I don't know. I don't do no crying. I'm just saying. I don't like your tone towards me. No, I'm just saying just because you out there, you said a lot of times people be doing things publicly and privately. They broke. They unhappy. Okay. That's all right. Ain't nobody looking at you no damn way. Just saying. I'm just saying. I think everybody should stop hiding. If they stop hiding and you do everything publicly, then you know exactly what you're getting yourself into. That's why there are two different words, private and public.

1:14:41Shannon Sharpe:Because if everybody wanted to do what they wouldn't need. That's a slippery slope. most of the time they want to be private so they don't keep everything else they got going on nice and hush hush. And just because you public that don't mean you still doing it. Yeah, you're right. You're right. It all depends on who you are. Let's get out of here on this one. Now it's time for our final segment of the evening. Now it's time for Q &A. Man, don't you want some bulljive.

1:15:13Yeah.

1:15:15Shannon Sharpe:Just living.

1:15:19Shannon Sharpe:Jay Brees says, so glad to have our own Big Three back. We miss you, ISO. We wish you a super fast recovery. Guys, what match are you most excited to come this NFL season? Out the gate. You got what you call them? You got Baltimore Buffalo out the gate. Yeah, we got. Hold on. The Cowboys got. The Cowboys got I think the Cowboys opened up with Dallas. What do you mean we opened up with Dallas? Cowboys opened up with who? The Eagles. On Thursday night. I think that's what I'm looking forward to. I'm looking for these boys to get off to a great start. You hear me? Y 'all don't care. Come on now. You got to cheer.

1:16:05Shannon Sharpe:What we playing at? What we playing at? In Philly, Whoever wins the Super Bowl open up at home. Okay, okay. They're going to put a foot in there. Hey, look, that's really a good time to go in there and pop them, too, while they celebrating. They got a lot going on that week. Probably got family all the time. Might as well come in there and thump them. It might be a good game to get. No. No, so who do Eagles open up with? As you said, Cowboys at the Eagles on Sunday night football, but they open up Thursday night. So who do Eagles open up with? Let me look.

1:16:41Yeah.

1:16:42Shannon Sharpe:It's Thursday, Joe. It's Thursday. Who they open up with? The Cowboys at the Eagle on Thursday night. Ooh, that's going to be a big game. And then you got – that's going to be a – that's going to do a monster number. Yeah. A monster. Boy, I know Fox like, ooh, Lord, have mercy. How y 'all get that game? How we get that game? Y 'all want to bet something? And then – hold on. Now, is Buffalo at the Ravens at Buffalo? Is that Sunday night or is that a CBS game?

1:17:17Shannon Sharpe:I know they ain't finna get NBC, the Cowboys, Eagle, and Baltimore Buffalo.

1:17:29Shannon Sharpe:Oh, my gosh. Back to back to back. Yes. oh yeah and I think now Ocho they'll flex Thursday night games late in the season because you know they flexed Sunday night games Ocho I think now they have the ability to flex Thursday you know what I just thought about what remember I asked you that idea what I can do for our age group like streaming wise you trying to be a streamer I already stream anyway that's why I'm playing video games like moving around what if I go to all the games go ahead you gonna come with me no no no I want to critique I like to critique I'm gonna critique too it's hard to watch all the games when you're at a stadium it's virtually impossible because people talking to you they want to know what you're doing you think.

1:18:36Shannon Sharpe:But you do what you feel you need to do. Oh, they got a Friday game too. The Chiefs play the Chargers on YouTube. So they got a Thursday, a Friday, and then they Sunday. Wow. Well, who the Monday night game? The Monday night, Minnesota at Chicago.

1:19:02Them Cowboys ain't gonna play no games this year, man. that's all y 'all do we're gonna get Michael taken care of he just need to hold on Mike

1:19:14Shannon Sharpe:nah nah y 'all already told him just cause we signed him y 'all know that man gonna be paid for game one I don't know nothing he ain't even practicing he ain't even practicing no it ain't okay because he gonna go from zero to 100 miles an hour without practice. That's the problem. Okay. Nick Mars says, I love Ocho, but the fact that Unk brought you a high school jersey just to make you mad gives him nightcap trash talk championship. Yeah. He's talking about sending him his jersey. After I bought the jersey, Joe, he's talking about sending me, send him his jersey. I bought those. I don't know where you bought them from.

1:19:59Shannon Sharpe:It doesn't matter. They're mine. I purchased them. Okay. Well, can I have him? No. I bought him. He got a signature on him up? No. It's his high school jerseys. He at least got to sign them. I don't want him signed. I don't want him signed. I just like having them. Cobb Sadie said at this point, Ocho owes the chat some money also. He does. He owe y 'all. Nate Sanfran, SF said, if we can name another top seven quarterback who threw for under 3 ,000 yards and 20 touchdowns in a season but won the Super Bowl MVP, then Cam is wrong. If not, then he's correct.

1:20:47Shannon Sharpe:But the Super Bowl MVP is different. The Super Bowl MVP is the Super Bowl. Right. The regular season MVP is the regular season. They're two separate things. Yeah.

1:21:04Shannon Sharpe:two separate things I don't get on the 3 ,000 yard name another top seven quarterback I mean if you go back in history but they throwing the ball now I mean we can go back and forth on this Jalen is doing what they're asking to do Go said who wins a versus Beyonce versus Rihanna between Rihanna has more number one hits than Beyonce. Who wins versus? That's not my area of expertise. They need to bring versus back. You don't think they're going to bring it back? There's no reason to bring it back right now. There's too much other stuff going on. It was perfect because it was COVID so everybody was locked in.

1:21:55We'll lock back in if you get the right people. It's going to come back around.

1:22:00Shannon Sharpe:Well, I hope it ain't COVID or another something that get us locked in that we have to have it. No.

1:22:11Shannon Sharpe:Ooh-wee. Man, Rihanna can't do no verses. She got a baby on the way. Boy, that'll be a mean vibe, hon, Beyonce. Yes, Lord. Yeah, good one. You say she got more number ones than Beyonce? That's what he said. I don't know. We'd have to go to Have to look and see Ain't no way they gonna let her lose no verses now I'm telling y 'all Beehive ain't letting her lose no verses Man yeah Yeah Man what Rihanna fans What they call Because Nikki got the bar Beyonce got the beehive The Navy Magna Stagion got the what the city girls Hot girls Hot girls Rihanna's a Navy something Navy. I forgot. Who got something Navy?

1:23:02Rihanna. Her fans. It was something Navy.

1:23:04Shannon Sharpe:What Rihanna fans are called?

1:23:11Shannon Sharpe:The Navy. Okay. Navy. Jenny Arbel said, I just started dating a guy with a daughter. I met him and her at the barbecue my mom threw. Family friend brought them. She's a little darling. How old is she? How old is his daughter?

1:23:34Shannon Sharpe:Didn't say. Man. Because I've seen some situations. Go left. I think the thing is, is that you got to be you. You're not her mom. And I don't know if, I don't think she, I don't, maybe the child is not looking for a mom. So don't you go try to insert yourself into that role. Wait, wait, wait. Give me that scenario one more time. don't try to be that girl little girl's mom oh it's a girl that the guy that has a daughter yeah that's what it said I just started dating a guy with a daughter last I checked a daughter is a female is a young is a female that's what I said I don't want to be presumptuous how old is she 1 is she 2 cause it's gonna you know

1:24:26Shannon Sharpe:6 the daughter is 6 yeah okay well that's easy there I mean hey take it to build a beer go you know go do some stuff like that y 'all I mean you know hey it's cool y 'all can do some stuff together right you don't have to go you don't have to move too fast

1:24:52Shannon Sharpe:I don't know what you mean you don't know

1:24:59that's a little that's a little need to talk to the mama first and make sure everything is oh joe you got to cheer i you know now you dating a dad now that's how i know i i get it make sure there's no pain with the mama to have have your child around somebody new you don't don't do that

1:25:17Shannon Sharpe:so let me ask you a question is she gonna come talk to me about having much having my daughter around some guy? Yeah. All right. Oh, yeah. You real quiet on that one. Okay. Hey, listen. Huh? It's the reason why I never had no problem. Now you need to check all the boxes before you get to dating other people and having them around other people's child. Now you don't... I don't remember anybody running anything about me, running about anything about me. And they got married. They ain't running about you? They didn't tell me they were getting married. They didn't tell me they were dating. No. I'm cool with it.

1:25:50Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to try... I'm going to trust your judgment. Just like I asked you to trust mine. Okay. I'm never going to, because at the end of the day, although we're co-parenting, I still have the vested interest in that child just as much as you do. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah. We, I don't, yeah. I let, Hey, listen, I'm talking to so-and-so now, even though we're not together, but you know, we're on the same page. Now we know we align with the same mindset for the betterment of the child, but I'm over here. So when I want my baby with me, I need you to meet her. I need y 'all to talk, be on the same page.

1:26:26So when I move, my child can move too. And this individual that I'm dating don't have to be going elsewhere. You see what I'm saying?

1:26:32Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I get it. Yeah, that's great. I mean, look, I was very fortunate for the most part. They were very cooperative. I would send my girlfriend down because back then she would fly to Atlanta, get key. when it came to, you know, Super Bowl. She handled all that, taking them to see World and taking them to do all that stuff. So, yeah. Hey, listen. I love, I love, I love, I love stuff like that. Ed Terrain, witness your presence in Baltimore, number 82. Don't ever take no prisoners. You are the real deal. Appreciate that, Earl. Quentin May says, since y 'all are retired, how do you know when players are ready to make their moves what which mean retiring move man i think you know we we all love playing the game but once you see you can't you can't uh for me it's like if i can't move or do the things that i'm accustomed to doing on the court then i don't want to play oh i'm cool that's and that happened with a lot of guys whether it's due to injury or whether it's just a lack of just working out.

1:27:43But as you get older, it's harder, man. It's a lot harder to play and compete as you age because, man, you have to be so serious about working out, man. That's the period of my point.

1:27:56Shannon Sharpe:It is. For me, Joe, Ocho, I just realized I wasn't going to be able to do anything else that was going to change somebody's perception of me. Catching another touchdown, going to another Pro Bowl, being another all pro people had already made their mind up they had sought me for 14 years so what could i do to change the perception of what you thought of me or what i was or wasn't nothing and then plus i wasn't the same anymore i wasn't the same i wasn't yeah i could i could catch i could catch 60 70 balls and get you 800 yards but it wasn't the same i didn't have i couldn't i couldn't dominate my yards didn't mean the same it used to be if i got 100 yards we won the game.

1:28:40Shannon Sharpe:One, automatic. Because I had that kind of impact, that kind of influence on the game. Right. Man, I ain't gonna lie to you, I still enjoy training. I still enjoy getting up shots by myself. It's all therapeutic for me. I still enjoy that fact, that part of it. So even if I wasn't able to compete at a high level, I would still for sure be playing the game. I would still be out there shooting or get upset. It's just part of who I am at this point. Yep.
