In short
Cleveland Cavaliers vs Detroit Pistons playoff Game 4/series update, focusing on Donovan Mitchell’s 39-point second half and Cleveland’s defensive/turnover edge; plus debate about Deandre Ayton’s “flexing” and rebounding/role in the postseason. The hosts also discuss Victor Wembanyama’s (spelled “Webmy”) ejection in Game 4 and why the NBA didn’t suspend him; and later, Joel Embiid’s reported friction with the 76ers front office (including the Jared McCain trade) and possible trade destinations.
Guest backgrounds
No identifiable guest names or bios appear in the provided transcript. The episode is hosted by “Unk,” “GP,” “Ocho,” and “Joe” (recurring voices), but they are not introduced as external guests.
Key claims
Cleveland can win the series if Mitchell/Harden are aggressive early and Cleveland limits turnovers; Detroit’s defense and home role players matter. Ayton is criticized for low rebounding/limited impact. Wembanyama likely avoided suspension due to first-time/intent assessment. Embiid may be moved because of availability and locker-room/front-office issues.
Notable examples
Mitchell’s 43 points total and 24-0 run; LaVert’s bench scoring; Thompson foul trouble; Harden 11 assists/2 turnovers; Wembanyama elbow ejection; Embiid/McCain trade complaints.

3:01Shannon Sharpe:Let's get on. Donovan Mitchell ties an NBA playoff mark with 39 points in the second half as the Cavs even the series, 112-103. Mitchell matched Eric Sleepy Floyd free throw attempt with 27 seconds. He had a chance to break the record, said in 1987, in which Floyd did it against the Los Angeles Raiders, Raiders, Lakers, but he missed the foul shot. Mitchell finished with 43 points, including 15 of Cleveland's on a 24-0 run that went the last 12 seconds of the first half into the first six minutes of the third quarter. Cavs were 10 of 12 from the field and made three three-porters and also converted five turnovers by the Pistons into nine points.
3:45Shannon Sharpe:Hey, I need somebody to tell me. Joe, where is Jake? Did you see what that man did? 8.2 rebounds. Now, people keep telling me with Shannon, he ain't that skilled offensively. Okay, you ain't got to be skilled to get rebounds. So what's the excuse he ain't getting no damn rebounds? Okay, I get it. Hey, listen. He need to work on his offensive game. He need to be able to drop step. He need to be able to work on a fadeaway. I get all of that. Okay, all of that. His offense isn't where it needs to be, especially when you get to the postseason. they focus in on you Joe you told me uh uh uh GP you told me say look the offense hey you ain't just getting up and down in the postseason you better have something in your bag to be able to get away from these dudes because they know what you like to do and they're going to keep you from doing it what about the rebounding this man seven foot tall and gave me two rebounds
4:40Chad Johnson:in 27 minutes. Hey, look, we got to be honest, fellas. He ain't having a great postseason. But he ain't no damn scoring either. Well, he ain't having 20 and 10. Yeah, that was going to leave. But listen, GP, you know when you get in the postseason, brother, listen, the game slows down way too much, bro. And Duran ain't no guy who we need to be throwing the ball down there to trying to get no damn bucket in the first place. He's an energy. He's a blue-collar guy, a hard-working guy. You know what I mean? But I'm like you, Unk. He got to do more rebounding, bro. Like, he should be double-fingers rebounding every night.
5:20Chad Johnson:I ain't tripping on the points. I ain't looking for him to give me 20 and 10 in no series. I'm just keeping real. Not with Mobley and what's the other big track? Allen down there. I think, you know, it's a – I mean, hell, it's been a tough matchup for him pretty much all playoffs, but for the most part, Detroit does their damage defensively and guarding, and that's what leads to a lot of transition buckets. Obviously, K has to be special every night. He can't have a night off. You know what I mean? If he have a night off, they definitely ain't got a chance of winning. Hey, look, and then when you look at Donovan, the man had four points at half.
5:59Chad Johnson:He went crazy with that second half. Oh my God. And fellas, we got to understand, that guy has to be like Ben Wallace.
6:09Shannon Sharpe:He has to be an all-around basketball player. You don't need to score. You need to block shots. You need to get some bounce. You need to defend. You need to do that type of situation. You cannot. And then what people don't understand, possessions are big in the playoffs. And you got to understand, you're not going to play this team one night and then you don't play them again for another month. you're playing them seven games in a row and what they're going to do is going to go to practice and they're going to look at film and they're going to adjust and when you know you're the weak link we're going to say let's go at him let's get him into this and then he gets exposed and that's not going to happen and this is what it is about it he was having a great he had a great regular season but this is the playoffs now and the teams are going to expose him
7:00Chad Johnson:I agree I agree Ocho GP in the postseason guess what we know every damn play we gonna run and guess what y 'all know every damn play we gonna run yes sir now it's our will against your will you feel me like we know during ain't no well will he get some points or some rebounds since you mentioned will will he do that no no he won't because guess what guess what we know we know how he we know how he can beat us. We got to keep his big ass off the glass. We got to keep a body on him. You know what I mean? We can't let him be effective. Yeah, K might get his 30. But hell, if we keep doing under 10, keep his rebounding down, don't let him make him be less effective, man, we got a great chance of winning.
7:45Chad Johnson:I thought Detroit got great contribution from LaVert off the bench, man. He gave me a hot as bench grease.
7:52Shannon Sharpe:LaVert was cutting the night. And you know what I, but the Pistons, Thompson's going to have to learn how to stop filing so much. he getting foul trouble in the first two minutes of the ball game, Joe.
8:02Chad Johnson:And now he out of rhythm.
8:04Shannon Sharpe:What do you have? I don't think he scored a point. Hey, TP, tell me this, man.
8:10Chad Johnson:As great as Thompson is defensively, bro, you got to add a little offense to your game, bro. Like, I feel like when you get to the NBA, okay, Ocho, I know it's probably the same when you get to the NFL. Bro, you got 24 hours. Okay, you may be in the gym two, three hours, But all you should be doing is working on your damn game, shooting them jump shots, getting up your extra shots, them corner threes where you know you're going to get your shots from, bro. Because in today's game, if you can't score the damn ball, it's almost hard to play.
8:40Shannon Sharpe:But Joe, it's not. It's like this era ain't like you, y 'all guys, man. These dudes ain't going to work out on that, man. They making$20,$30 million. They don't care. They don't care, man. They ain't trying to do all that. And he should be in the gym working on being just like a Scotty Pippen, being utility like that, going to all that, hitting and do what you got to do because he is long like that. He can play D like that. He can go and get it. He runs like a deer and get all that going. He can play that way. But you know what they go do on the offseason? They be on islands. They be all of that.
9:19Shannon Sharpe:They don't be working at their game. I'll be like, man, shoot me. I'm going to make the all-star team. I'm going to make all league. I'm going to make all defense. I'm going to make everything. And I'm going to go in there and I'm going to sit in this lab by myself and work out by myself. And I'm going to put three people that's better than me in my conference. And I'm going to outdo them. And that's what I'll be working at. That's all I will be doing. And that's what I did. I was like, John Stockton, Kevin Johnson, Tim Hardaway was my goal. My goal to get. And I went at they helped me. And I went and got them.
9:53Shannon Sharpe:You know what I'm saying? And that's what you got to do. But they don't work like that no more. You know what I'm saying? Because they make money.
9:58Chad Johnson:Hey, everybody got a trainer now. When I was coming up on OtoGP, bro, all we did was play pickup. We played the game. We played the game. I just think, you know, as a player, if you know you have a weakness in your game, bro, you have to try some way, somehow make that a strength. You know what I mean? if these dudes ain't guarding you when you're on offense, bro, you have to work on your game. You have to work on that jump shot. You have to work on that midi. Because guess what? If you're able to make a couple of them, you open up the floor for guys like K to be able to work. Hell, but if I got two non-shooters out here in Duren and Thompson, hell, Tobias Harris, he's been playing great this whole playoffs.
10:42Chad Johnson:You know what I mean? It's like, hell, I ain't got to worry about it, but really two people and Duncan Robinson running out screens. You know, in today's game, it's wide open, and if you can't score, bro, it's just hard to play. Joe, we go back
10:57Shannon Sharpe:to Oklahoma. That's what the Oklahoma is doing for Shane. You feel what I'm saying? They knocking shots down with their starters, so Cunningham doesn't have that ability to do that because his dudes is not making shots. If they make shots, then it'll be better for Cunningham. He can be that man he want to be. But all they got to do is double cutting him out. And if them dudes don't make shots, we win games. You know what I'm saying? That's a joke. Donovan went crazy in the second half. Yes, he did. And he has that kind of ability. We've seen him go haywire. He see a couple of them go in, they going to get it.
11:39Chad Johnson:Hey, Uncle Joe and GP, he was willing to do anything. He hitting from the three. he taking he taking dudes off the dribble calling for the pick going around coming back through like man what the hell why can't we do this every night can't we do this every night hope we can't forget about james hard to now james hard and hit some key shots james hard got him up to the great
12:01Shannon Sharpe:start he did and i'm happy for him for that because you know they always criticize him in the playoffs all you gotta do is just be consistent man and be like this in cleveland has a chance You know what I'm saying? Usually he'll fade away. But now he got another boy with him in Mitchell where he know if he get the ball, he hit his shots. He ain't got to be up there just pounding the ball, pounding the ball, and try to score. Mitchell is that guy now. And all Harden got to do is sit over there, and you know he going to knock down a shot if you have to and get aggressive. He will go to the back and get buckets.
12:35Shannon Sharpe:So that's what I'm glad to see him now being in the playoffs and doing what he do.
12:41Chad Johnson:Hey, to me, I feel like the only way Cleveland can win this series, James Harden and Donovan Mitchell, they have to play this way. Hey, look, look, think about tonight. James had 11 assists. He only had two turnovers. Bro, if you don't turn the ball over, J.H., my boy, if you get a chance to see this or hear this clip, if you don't turn the ball over, y 'all have a hell of a chance of winning. Well, they really should have won game two, Joe, remember?
13:06Shannon Sharpe:If Schroeder done turned the ball over. Yeah. They'd be up 3-1. Think about it, Joe. They should be up 3-1. 3-1. They should be.
13:15Chad Johnson:You're right. You're right. I think, look, with Donovan scoring 39, that man scored 39 points in the second half, fellas. That's crazy. Do you know what type of heater you got to be on? Like, you have to understand the moment. You know what I mean? Like, he probably came in at halftime like, damn, I only got four points. This ain't going to get it. Yeah. You know what I mean? And to come out in that second half and assert himself the way he did and for them to pull this off. Like, bro, I don't know if they can win in Detroit. I think it's hard to win in Detroit because Detroit role players play a lot better at home.
13:47Chad Johnson:And for whatever reason, Donovan and James Harden hadn't played great in Detroit. But, man, listen, if they want to win, they have to be aggressive like this. James has to come out and assert himself early. He has to get going early, fellas. you know Cleveland can't sit around and wait to be punched bro they gotta punch first
14:07Shannon Sharpe:but you know they gonna get calls too in Detroit so they gonna have to play through that and they gonna have to just play good I just think that turnover situation if they leave it down they got a good chance of winning all the time if you stay close at the end of the thing them two dudes can make shots that's what's gonna happen and you'll fool around and get upset but you know what JB they gonna have to find a way to give K a break. You notice that when he gets tired, he turns the ball over. All the time, bro. That's what costs him that game. That's what... You notice that. But you're asking him, bro, he got to take Donovan Mitchell or he's taking James Harden.
14:50Shannon Sharpe:Now I got to go on the offensive end. I got to create shots for myself or I got to create and get somebody else to ball. He don't get a chance to rest. He can't rest. But Joe, Joe, sorry, that's why they should have had the boy Ivey. Remember they got rid of him. Ivey could have handled the basketball a little bit more. You feel what I'm saying? Ivey was one of them dudes that could handle the basketball from Kade and then that would have been cool. But he handled the basketball too much. He just handles it too much.
15:22Chad Johnson:Hey look, Kade don't have the luxury that Shea has. Shea has an A.J. Mitchell next to him who a lot of times in the game tonight, if you I know y 'all watched the game. You was there. But Shea was running up the sideline while AJ was running up, running the pick and roll. So he able to rest. Hell, Cade ain't got that luxury, bro. He can't do that. Look, you take the ball out of his damn hand, you don't know what's going to happen. You feel me?
15:47Shannon Sharpe:They've been trying to run Jenkins, and Jenkins, he hadn't been what he was when Cade was out. And I don't know why, Joe. He had that one good game. What was that game? I think game seven against Orlando. Yeah. But other than that, it's like, bro. They got to find a way to get him a blow, man. They're burning him out. He played 40 minutes. He legit played 40 minutes because he ain't getting no rest. He don't get the rest on the offensive end because he's got James Harden and Donovan Mitchell, and he doesn't get the rest on the offensive end because he's got to create for himself and others. So ain't no rest for the weary.
16:24Chad Johnson:You're right. You're right. It's damn near a two-man game when it comes to the Pistons. and Tobias Harris playing out his goddamn mind right now. Tobias is doing what Tobias does.
16:35Shannon Sharpe:He's playing out his mind. And think about what they got from Karras LeVert.
16:40Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah. I think he had 23. He had 23 on the bench, if I'm not mistaken. I just think from Thompson, bro, you got to get a little more from him. I know he's working his ass off defensively, but offensively, I mean, hell, he was a minus 27. He was the highest plus minus. And he played a few minutes.
17:02Shannon Sharpe:right so imagine if he had played k minutes what it would be what his plus might have been damn
17:06Chad Johnson:that's what i'm saying so he got i'm saying you know when you talk about pinpoints um i'm just i'm calling him out because it's like damn bro k needs some help he needs some help like offensively and you got to find ways to score the ball bro he got to find ways to get them at least 12 to 16 points a night, fella.
17:28Shannon Sharpe:Victor Wimby Njama won't be fired or suspended by the NBA after he was ejected in game four following the elbow to Nasri Chen. Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson on the decision. They did what they did because of the outcome of the play. So be it. But to have anything on top of that I think would be ridiculous. Joe, GP, are you surprised that Wimby didn't face any further penalty? be. I think he would I think the fine, I thought he was going to get fined. I knew they weren't going to suspend him. That's not going to happen. That'll just match up basketball. But to me, guys, it's just playing basketball, man.
Read the full transcript
18:06Shannon Sharpe:You know, he threw a elbow. It's just playing basketball. And I think that is it, what it was. I'm glad that the NBA made the right decision to do this. I thought it would be a fine. I thought he'd be fine a little bit, but I didn't think no suspension was coming. If they would have suspended it that would have just messed up the whole series oh yeah you yeah i don't want to see that that would just been stupid for the nba to even do that you know but i think they went back and looked at the play and he was just playing basketball to me i didn't think he really intentionally elbowed him i think it was just playing basketball not i did but that
18:44Chad Johnson:looked that looked very intentional it looked like he was frustrated he got tired of them antagonizing and he let that elbow go through a little bit, but a little bit too much aggression. And I think because he's a first-time offender, it's not his character. This is not someone who gets in trouble multiple times for playing dirty or doing crazy stuff like that. So I think they were a little bit more leaning on him. I knew they definitely weren't going to suspend him. That definitely not happened. But he probably won't have this issue again. But I know one thing, he going to make his presence felt in the next game.
19:18Chad Johnson:Oh, no, no, no. And he's going to make his presence feel real early, too. I think this could potentially happen again. I just think with him being so tall, fellas, I think, you know, if he do get that nastiness in him like he had on that play because I thought it was a frustration, you know, kind of like, damn, get up off me. You know what I mean? I think if he adds more of that to his game, yeah, because think about it. At 7 '5", GP, if I catch it and I'm just trying to chin the ball and clear you out, your head is right there by my head. That's what I'm saying. So I think it can happen more than what we anticipate.
19:57Chad Johnson:But I think he's such a good guy that he'd probably be aware that, you know, he don't want to put his team in these type of situations because, you know, when you think about it, they probably felt like they should have won their game.
20:09Shannon Sharpe:And Chad, that's what kind of kid he is. You remember when he went to the All-Star game, he said, man, I'm playing. I'm going to play. I don't care about all this other crazy stuff, man. When they be holding on to him, like I said, I didn't think we'd see that. I was just like, man, y 'all get up off me, man. You know what I'm saying? It's like that, man. You know what people want to do. Get up off me, man. You know what I'm saying? That's how the game goes. You know what I'm saying? He ain't being no intentionally. He talking about, man, get a race up off me.
20:35Chad Johnson:You know what I'm saying? Yes. Hey, think about it, though, GP. If you had. Copenhagen's spit-free pouches are packed full of American-grown tobacco. Made for welders. 24:39Chad Johnson:Knicks, for your leaks, for your life. To play against him, hell, you will push home and grab and all that on his ass too. I mean, how else you supposed to stop him?
24:48Shannon Sharpe:You can't stop that big boy, man. I would do the same thing. I try to get him frustrated and get him kicked out the game as well. You know what I'm saying? It ain't no way you're going to stop that big boy. That big boy and he's shooting that thing and you ain't got no chance of blocking all of that. Come on. Man, come on. Because the thing is, Joe, like you said, everybody chin ahead is right there at his elbow. I don't give a damn who you can be six. Hey, you can be six. Hey, you can be six foot tall. Everybody chin ahead is an elbow shot. Yeah.
25:18Chad Johnson:So when he grabbed that rebound and if he chin it like we was tall when we was young, chin it, and you put, man, you hit every time.
25:27Shannon Sharpe:Hey, he got that. Hey, like Batumbo. Remember Batumbo? for trouble getting them sharp, them knives, resting, sold it. And pro Shaq, they already knew. When Shaq got the rebound and did this, they said, now let's go to the other end. Yeah, because your chin was going to get took off on your head. Hey, Shaq getting that rebound. When Shaq got that rebound and did this, everybody just go on the floor. Yeah, they just running up the court. You right. Uh-oh, guys. Joel Embiid reportedly hasn't seen eye to eye with the Sixers front office, even had an issue with the Jared McCain trade per Tony Jones.
26:00Shannon Sharpe:As the season progressed, it became clear that the start center didn't see eye to eye with front office and coaching staff. In the days before the February trade deadline, he implored the front office to do something other than what he deemed ducking the luxury tax and such. He, along with others in the locker room, were not happy with the decision to trade second-year guard Jerry McCain to the Thunder, particularly without bringing in a plan to replace McCain. In interviews over the next few games, Embiid noticeably had to hold himself back from verbally criticizing the front office. On April 1st, a handful of players met with members of the Philadelphia 76ers coaching staff before a shoot-around in Washington to express concerns over certain players' participation in team activities and frustration over the direction of the 76ers.
26:47Shannon Sharpe:Among other things, the players expressed they felt wasn't enough control of the locker room, according to those sources. The meeting was tense enough to briefly imperil the team's shoot-around. Joe, what are we going to do from that?
27:06Chad Johnson:Sound like a plea to me. Sound like he, hey, hey, sound like it's going to be some furniture moving this summer. That's what I think. I think if you Philly, GP, Ocho, I think you have to weigh all your options. You have to weigh all your options. I mean, I don't know what the chemistry is like over there, but it don't seem great to me. And I'm saying from a fan's perspective, from a guy who watched the game, and I look at body language and things of that sort, it don't look like they enjoy playing with one another. I'm just keeping it real.
27:39Shannon Sharpe:And then, Joe, you got to understand, I don't blame the coaches because coaches can't say nothing because these dudes make so much money and once they compete, the coach's going to get fired. They ain't going to get shipped back. So what are we saying? Y 'all got to be accountable for yourself. And Embiid, you know, he ain't been playing every season. He don't play too many games every season. But when he's there, he's very effective. But listen, if that's Philly, I got two guards that are off the chain and the young fella and Maxie. They're off the chains. I'll build right there. You've got to think about what you're going to do with George Paul.
28:17Shannon Sharpe:Paul George. Paul George. I'll tell you, George Paul. Paul George. And then you've got to understand, man, I would say, man, let's go get us some pieces. You know what I'm saying? Because they were playing well. Are you saying move off and beat? I would. That'd be my opinion to do it. Just move on, man. Make it go somewhere. I'll get nice young pieces for it. And then we can go from there. Because you don't know. It's just almost like Anthony Davis. You move on with Anthony Davis, you don't know if he's going to play every year, what you're going to get out of him. So why not go get some young players that are going to play for you every night and we have opportunity.
28:59Shannon Sharpe:Oh, Joe?
29:00Chad Johnson:Yes, man. Hey, Unc, I got a question. When we talk about moving, right? When you think about it, y 'all three, y 'all would know better than me. you know one thing that the Lakers haven't had they haven't had much presence down in the block right? What do you think about Embiid going to LA?
29:17Shannon Sharpe:You don't want a more expensive Anthony Davis he plays less than AD
29:22Chad Johnson:Hold on hold on I think if you the Lakers now you gonna take a look at it Him and Luka?
29:30Shannon Sharpe:But when he on the floor though he a beast When is that? Hey GP when is that? That's not too awful, but when he do play, when he do play, he'll he'll he'll he'll buck it and he can get it.
29:45Chad Johnson:Hey, and I think he'll have a resurgence as far as like who he wants to be as a player, a new scenery. He know he can't go to L.A. with this same type of, you know, attitude that he got over. We said the same thing.
29:58Shannon Sharpe:I told you, huh? They say here you go. He said he got to you. We said the same thing about it. The man he go go there. Hey, hold on, hold on, hold on. He ain't got no choice. Hey, but Shannon you shouldn't say that about him because we ain't talking about that. Whatever conversation y 'all was having about that y 'all should have left that conversation off. Because listen, we talking about in B who can really, really play. Now y 'all should have left that conversation long. I'm glad I wasn't on there that night because I would have been like cut. We ain't talking about this no more.
30:30Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. I think he's slick trying to eat, he trying to get that comment to trying to compare God No, no, no, no, no, no.
30:38Shannon Sharpe:Ain't no comparison. My thing is, is that it's hard when a guy has played 500 games, missed 500 games. GP, how do I build around that? Hey, that's why I told Philadelphia to move on. Whoa, move on. You got two good guards there. That little rookie is a beast. And then you, you know, well, like I said, you got Paul George who is looking okay. He'll score when he needs to. And Maxie is your main focus. Just get some pieces around there. Put you a three-team team deal in there. Get you something for it. And, man, y 'all can go and rock out.
31:19Chad Johnson:Hey, I like Grimes and Oubre. I think you keep those guys around, too. Yeah, you keep those guys around, too. But I think Embiid still got a little value on that a team will be like, you know what, we'll take a chance. We'll risk it. Like, you know, considering here when he does play, you know, he's pretty decent. I just think he need to change the scenery, man. Yeah, I told him that the night, JP and Joe, I think a change of scenery would do one. Great for him.
31:49Shannon Sharpe:It'll be great for him. Even though he don't play, let him go change the scenery, man, and get up out of there, man. If he ain't happy, man, go somewhere else. Go somewhere else and do it. I think he'd be good in Miami.
32:02Chad Johnson:Now, GP, I know Yon is coming to Miami already.
32:05Shannon Sharpe:You say Giannis coming there? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He looking for a house now. You always on that Miami boy.
32:11Chad Johnson:You want Miami to have everybody. No, I just, we ain't had nothing in a while. I know we got Bam. I'm saying we ain't had nothing in a while. I talked to Pat. Pat, he going to come off the ring a little bit.
32:25Shannon Sharpe:Joe, how MB going to look in Miami with Pat Riley and his body fat? Hold on.
32:29Chad Johnson:Shit, I'm going to ask GP. GP, you know Riles ain't going for that.
32:32Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, he ain't going for that. That boy coming there fat and all that, he will not play regardless. They'll make it on bikes, everything. They'll have them at practice two times a day. No way possible. Hey, I was 37, 38, 3 % body fat. I said, don't tell me. He don't tell me. You know what I'm saying?
33:02Chad Johnson:Hey, Tell him about the weight and body fat on Friday.
33:07Shannon Sharpe:Oh, my goodness, man. He got to pinch you. He got to put that thang on you, man. All that stuff. Man, he put that little thang, pinch thang on you. If it be too much on there, you going to go get in that sauna. You doing all that. You getting spended. You getting fine. You getting all that. I'm like, man, that's crazy. And then one time, three of us was over body fat. he put the bikes in the middle of the floor and he had us right at the time for an hour and 30 minutes with the leads and all that on our chest and we was getting up pumping man and then we went and had practice for two hours I said man this man crazy
33:50Chad Johnson:hey Ocho he ain't buying let me tell y 'all something when I left Brooklyn and came to Miami bro you know I was a little overweight I was a little overweight Hey, look, you already got pre-practice, and then you got practice. Yeah. Hell, I was there before pre-practice on that damn bike. GP talking about? I was there an hour before pre-practice riding a bike for a whole 45 minutes. Then I go to pre-practice. Hell, UD, D-Wade, and all them, they in pre-practice. Then once we get done with pre-practice, that's when regular practice starts. Hey, man, when you leave there, your ass want to go home and lay down, bro.
34:26Chad Johnson:And he is four hours easily in there.
34:30Shannon Sharpe:And then, look, look, look, look, fella. We still had a training camp where you get double tour days. You know what I'm saying? He put Cox in the locker room and said, man, y 'all might as well just go and lay down right here, man, because y 'all ain't going to make it to get back. You know what I'm saying? That's how it was. Damn. him. So you saying no and be no to Miami GP. He ain't going to change his ways, man. And be accountable for the fact they ain't coming to get him. They ain't going to pay him that much money. And he don't be playing. He got three years guaranteed at$192 million. Yeah, well they won't go.
35:12Shannon Sharpe:Pat won't go take that. He'll be like, nah, I'm off that. He won't do that. He'll go get your boy from Milwaukee before he do all that. Giannis. Giannis. He'll go get Giannis before he do that because he know Giannis going to come play.
35:29Chad Johnson:Yeah.
35:31Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Wow. I'm trying to figure out where so where is he going to go? He might go to L.A. If he come to L.A., he might as well just come to the Clippers. Just go to the Clippers. Yeah, go to the Clippers. You could put Kawhi. Kawhi. Damn, so you want two guys that don't play a whole bunch, our GP. But Kawhi getting better, though, Shannon. Kawhi played the most he played this year. He played almost like 60 games. Yeah, he didn't play until January. Yeah, you know how that go. You know what I'm saying? But he's getting better. I think if they both play 60 games, they'll be cool. You do realize, hold on.
36:24Shannon Sharpe:Hey, pull up, when's the last time? You know only one time he's played 68 games in his NBA career. Probably one time, yeah. He won the MVP that year. And how long have you been in the league? Probably a decade. You figure he's missed 485, 485. So that's what, 960? So at least 10 years. Ooh, see, that's crazy. That's crazy to me that you missed that man. and then you done missed more games and you done played and made all that money? Come on.
36:59Chad Johnson:Hey, then when you think about it, Embiid getting 193 over the next three years. Hell, that means you're going to have to give up a lot to get him.
37:08Shannon Sharpe:That's like what? That's $60 million, almost$65 million a year.
37:15Chad Johnson:I don't know. Philly might have to figure that one out, GP.
37:18Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, they're going to have to suck that one up, man. but I try to get him up out of the way. You know what I'm saying? I would have to take him. I don't know what to take him, though. Shoot, you got to go down there to Houston. They got some players that they can swap for him, the big boys. You know what I'm saying? They got some players that can do it. Houston got a lot of little things to go. And then you got that Sacramento team. They got a lot of little youngsters over there. but you're going to have to have a three team trade in it. You're going to have to have three teams and it's going to be a lot of picks.
37:55Shannon Sharpe:So he got drafted in 2014. He's been there for 12 years. So 2014 to 2025 is 2014 to 2023 is 10 years. 24 is 11 years. His 12th year, he's going to 13. Yeah, this was his 12th year. Next year. Yeah, going to the year 13. Yeah. I don't know, GP. I'll let him go, man. I would have to make a change. I'm just saying make a change. I say just come with a new. You got young stars. You got youngsters, little guards. And you know, Shannon, that's what the league is about now, guards. It's about guards. Check this out, guys. His first two years, he didn't play at all. So 2014 to 15, 15, 16, he didn't play.
38:43Shannon Sharpe:The next year, he played 31 games. Then he played 63, 64, 51, 51. Then the year he won the MVP, he played 68. The next year, he played 66. Then he played 39, 19, 38. In 10 years, he's averaged 49 games a season. Damn. So he's averaging missing 33 games a year. That's 10 years he played. So the first two years, they only counted him. He didn't play at all. He did not play a single game in his first two years. So he almost missing half of the year every year. Every year. Hey, but we know what he gets. It beats when he is on the court.
39:35Chad Johnson:He's a force to be reckoned with.
39:36Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I know I'm supposed to get a check every month. But hey, sometimes it comes, sometimes it don't. But when it comes, it's nice. You living your life like that? No. Hell no. And these teams ain't fit to live their life like that either. Yeah. I don't think they're going to do that. Ain't too many. 33 games a year. Think about that, Ocho. Think about if a wide receiver missed five games. Let's just say one of the top wide receivers in the league. And every year, 17 games, he missed five of them. They're going to move on. Yeah, they got to go. Like I said, I'm still on the bandwagon of trying to nuke, get a nuke.
40:16Chad Johnson:But they ain't going to be able to move on, man, with that big contract.
40:20Shannon Sharpe:You got to. That's why you got to put a lot of, Joe, you got to put a lot of team. And you got to take some of it on. Hey, hey, you got to take some of it on, a GP, you know, Joe? Yeah. You got to take, you got to take some of it. Hey, hey, I'll pay$50 million. I'd be willing to pay$50 million. That way I'd get up out of 142 of it.
40:40Chad Johnson:Yeah.
40:41Shannon Sharpe:I can't eat the whole thing. All. I wouldn't eat it. I wouldn't eat it. You done tried it out for almost 12 years. What you want to do now? He tried it for 12 years. But you know when he plays, you know what he is. Yeah, where?
40:59Chad Johnson:Hey, listen. When he plays, you know what he is because that's why he's making the money he's making and he missed all that damn time. Hey. Yeah, I know. it's like it's like somebody else having one of your exes being like oh she gonna be better with me that's how teams gonna look at it they'd be like oh you know what we're whipping him in some shape he'll play more games with us you know what I mean it's teams things like that of course I don't care what she was with him
41:31Shannon Sharpe:she ain't gonna be like that with me I see why old boy got up off you you seen why
41:44Shannon Sharpe:but think about this in 10 years 1, 2, 3, 4 he's only played at least 60 games 4 times in 10 years and the boy got some game we ain't talking about that We just talk about him being healthy. His availability. Yeah, it's just like, buddy, y 'all, it's just like AD. He got game two. Yes. When he healthy, he a beast. But he just can't stay on the floor. AD going to give you 20, somewhere between 22 and 25. He going to give you somewhere between 10 and 12 rebounds. Going to block you two and a half, three shots a game. Yep, yep, yep.
42:31Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, if y 'all ask me, I think these are personal decisions that these guys are making, too. Meaning, like, you got to take care of yourself, bro, in the offseason. Like, it's the offseason here. But as a professional player, man, you got to always stay in some shape. Yeah, yeah. You can't come into camp thinking, I'm going to whip into some shape real quick. Hell no. And you know,
42:56Shannon Sharpe:when you got some height, you can put some pounds on easy. Easy. You're like, dang, yo. Easy. Easy. So, Joe, how many games you've missed, probably, you think, in your career?
43:10Chad Johnson:Bro, listen. Hold on. GP, Ocho. For over a decade, I was an Ironman. You know what I mean? Like, to where I didn't miss a game. Like, I really enjoyed playing the game. So, I'd do whatever to make my body feel good or whatever sacrifices I got to make to be able to be out there on the floor. I was always willing to do that. Regardless of the circumstances or the situation I was in, whether I was the guy or one of the guys or the third or fourth, it didn't matter to me, man. I really enjoyed playing the game. So I would never cheat myself like that. So, you know, I think that was honorable in myself just by being mentioned being an Ironman, a guy who done played over countless amount of games and never missed a game.
43:49Chad Johnson:So, you know, I always relish that, bro. Like, I tried to keep that pain up.
43:54Shannon Sharpe:Didn't I tell you to see a different mindset? I played 17 seasons and I only missed 25 games. Damn. That's all I missed. 25 games and 17 seasons. You got to enjoy playing, bro. For six years, I played 82 straight. Yeah. Joe, from 03 through 06, Joe never missed a game. and then he played 57 and then he went 82, 79 76, 72 60, 72 79, 80, 81 57, 24 78, 55 32, 23 Ball like a dog
44:37Chad Johnson:Okay Joe you Hey Joe you was a little dude Hey man The best ability is what Availability Hey yeah Joe I hope you're available soon too. I'm gonna be available. Get off your ass partner. Yeah, hey, make sure. I don't want to hit no excuses either. Don't talk to me tonight, man. I'm trying to be cool. It's three something in the morning. Don't play with me tonight, man. Hey, hey, hey, Joe. That's the liquor talking. You can't do nothing with me in your - Ooh, ooh, ooh. Ooh, Chad, you talking big, big money. You understand that? Hey, GP. Hey, GP. Man, I'm finna wash that nigga, man. GP, GP, GP. That man prick garbage, man.
45:19Shannon Sharpe:I watch that man every summer on this big three boy.
45:30Chad Johnson:Hey, GP, listen, I seen him play. GP, I know all his moves. I know his mannerisms. I know what he gonna do when he going left. I know when he going right. GP, one thing about it, I got a gift, right? I got a gift for Gab. And I'm gonna have him by that airborne like with me. I'm gonna make you mad.
45:48Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Chad, I gotta see this one, man. Cause that, that, that, they call that, they call him buckets. He gets straight buckets. Hey, you know what they call me? Huh?
46:01Chad Johnson:The ISO stopper. Oh, you're Joe ISO? You stopping Joe ISO? Hey, GP. GP, I got something for his ass. Don't worry about it. I got something for his ass. Hey, GP, man, thanks for joining us tonight, man.
46:15Shannon Sharpe:We appreciate that, man. Sorry I wasn't late, but I thought they were going to pull it out. I didn't even really see it. I didn't see it like the last 50 seconds of the game. When Chet dunked the ball, I just went ahead and walked on it. I said, I don't think they're going to do it. Copenhagen's spit-free pouches are packed full of American-grown tobacco. 51:54Shannon Sharpe:Oh
51:57Chad Johnson:oh damn hey i i like that idea yeah i really love that idea reciprocate the same type of gifts the same type of energy the same type of money we spend on him listen if it if it doesn't come back tenfold the same way we do we eliminate it we eliminate it because too many women are getting away with murder calling guys providers calling them oh he a real one you know and fellas are getting tricked into buying all that stuff and getting nothing in return. You hear me?
52:31Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
52:31Chad Johnson:I'm here for you, Ocho. I'm listening to you. Come on now. I'm not going to preach too much because you know there's three in the morning. Yeah, three in the morning. You get the point. Yeah. Oh, damn.
52:42Shannon Sharpe:That man said, yeah, you know, hey, I just gave him kind of what I got.
52:46Chad Johnson:Yeah.

53:30Shannon Sharpe:Oh, what you mean know us well? That be Ocho. Me? I get it from you. No, he get it from me. All that stuff he done talking about. Hey, Joe, you need to get some salt and pepper and spring it in the bed. You need to get some ice. Joe, take a look at my swing set. He done jumped in the swing set. You talking about me? I said, I ain't been on the damn swing since I was in elementary school. I know I ain't about to get my big ass one that's hanging in the door seal.
53:57Chad Johnson:Hey, y 'all, I'm telling y 'all got to get one, man. Hey, Joe. What's happening? Matter of fact, you got ceiling fans in the house? Yeah. Yeah, I mean, is it sturdy? Is it in there sturdy? Yeah, yeah, I got one of them big industrial joints up in there. Yeah, man, why I got the big industrial commercial one too? Yeah, what you trying to say? What's going on? You know you can hook the swing up to the goddamn ceiling fan, right? And put it on one.
54:20Shannon Sharpe:So you're going to have it like the swing at the fair?
54:26Chad Johnson:I'm saying. I'm saying you in it or she in it? Oh, this time she in it, Joe. So how do you keep up if she keep going around and around? Joe, you in the swing with her, Joe. Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's all the best.
54:41Shannon Sharpe:You're going to put a whole damn foundation down there. Man, you listen to all your...
54:48Chad Johnson:Hey, listen, you got the industrial one, right? Yeah. Yeah, he got the industrial one, he good.
54:54Shannon Sharpe:He made the whole 300 plus pounds, Joe Ocho. Hey, Joe ain't that fat. Joe weigh 255.
55:02Chad Johnson:I'm 250 here, she a hundred and something. Yeah, she probably 125, 130. Yeah. You just gotta try it out though, Joe, but make sure the ceiling fan is on low.
55:15Shannon Sharpe:See, and then y 'all talk about me. Joe over there talk about...
55:20Chad Johnson:I'm there telling you about personal experiences. They already know the order, Ojo. No, I'm last. Come on. You gotta chill. I'm last. You gotta chill. I don't know how in the hell you think you last.
55:37Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Ojo, but it be them quiet with Ojo.
55:41Chad Johnson:Look, Ojo, don't let him draw you in. Ojo, keep him quiet. Hey, mind you. Hey, hey, they sneak up on you, boy. Hey, I ain't never heard Joe talk his whole career. I might have heard him say something twice. Boy, he get on here, boy, he wide open. Yeah, I know what I been saying. Guess why? He wide open. Guess why? Look who I'm hanging with. Hell, I'm hanging with two freaks. No, no, I'm mild, man.
56:12Shannon Sharpe:I ain't what y 'all want from me. Hey, but I think Ocho, I think, hold on. I think Ocho won. I think you might have been two when we took the poll, Ocho.
56:22Chad Johnson:No, there ain't no way I could be two up. It ain't possible. That's not humanly possible. I think it was two, Joe. That's not possible. No, I'm cool with being three. Hey, look, man. Hey, look. Just take the order y 'all in. Just embrace it. It is what it is. It don't make you no bad brother. You know what the funny thing about it is? Is everything I say on here, nobody believes me. But when it comes to that, why am I one? I could be lying. I could be lying. I could be making it up. Now you the little boy who cries for me. Nobody wants that shit. Man, all the stuff that you be talking about, bro, they already know who number one.
56:57Chad Johnson:But how? Everything I talk about, I say, they think is a lie. But all of a sudden, they believe the stories. They believe that. They don't believe.
57:04Shannon Sharpe:I be telling the truth. Man, ain't no guy pulling no gun on you. Ain't no guy kicking no house in or doing it on you. Ain't none of that happened to you. But now, all of a sudden, they believe it.
57:16Chad Johnson:Yeah, because we know. They hear you talking about that baby leg. And we hear you on there with Michelle. Baby gravy and all that. Shit, we ain't crazy. What y 'all want us to play crazy? We can play crazy. We ain't crazy, though. But they know about them boys from Arkansas.
57:33Shannon Sharpe:and that down south Mississippi, Louisiana. Here he go. Boy, they be on one, Joe. I mean, Joe, they be on one now.
57:41Chad Johnson:And Georgia and Florida right with us.
57:44Shannon Sharpe:Don't try to leave y 'all ass. Now, them Florida boys, they be on a different type of time.
57:49Chad Johnson:Woo! Hey, listen, we just living. That's all. Is that what it is? Yeah, that's what life is about. Life is about living. Life is about experiencing as much as you can before you leave Earth.
58:01Shannon Sharpe:Well, you done got a lot of experience, Ocho. Let's take a listen to the third one. No, I'm not finished.
58:09Chad Johnson:What's up, MyCot family? I've been rocking with y 'all since day one. I love this show. I just got one quick question. If everybody's NFL team had the greatest players on there, which team would be the greatest team? Love y 'all and stay safe. Man, there's a cowboy. They ain't even funny. They ain't even close. who me are great our greatest players like our greatest players at each position I mean we'd be nice but I mean I think Denver would probably supersede us and obviously the Cowboys best players would supersede us as well
58:47Shannon Sharpe:but you think about it it's just between us yeah
58:53Chad Johnson:the best players at each position on our team probably the Cowboys Yeah, easily. I appreciate y 'all for being honest. I know they took a lot. I know they took a lot out of y 'all, man. Well, you got to think, Joe. We talk about all the best players in each position for the Cowboys throughout the years. Yeah, I mean, think about how many defensive linemen
59:12Shannon Sharpe:they got in the Hall of Fame. They got Randy White, Bob Lilly, Charles Haley. Yeah. Offense, they got Roger Stahlbeck, Troy Aikman. wide receivers, they got Irvin, Bob Hayes, Pearson. Running backs, they got Tony D, Emmitt.
59:35Chad Johnson:Emmitt close.
59:36Shannon Sharpe:Offensive lineman, they got Larry Allen. Larry. Defense. Yeah, I mean, yeah. Yeah. DB, I think, was her bad a little defense for them? They got time. We got a nice little roster now. We got a nice little roster. Hey, quarterback, we bust y 'all head because we got Peyton and Seven. Y 'all quarterbacks ain't seeing our quarterbacks. Mm-mm. Nope. I mean, Starback, Romo, Dak. Your best. So your two best quarterbacks better than Peyton and Seven? No. Okay.
1:00:22Shannon Sharpe:All right, let's take a listen to the last one. Hey, to our favorite Unc, to Freak-O-Zinko, and still King Iso. I want to say thank you guys so much for the shout-out. My mom had her breast cancer surgery. She's doing well. They said they found nothing left after they cleaned it all out. So we're in a good spot. She wanted me to thank you guys personally. say she really appreciated it, it brought her spirits up, and she even loved Unx Houdini Act during that video. Thank you, guys. And please, guys, can I get a birthday shout-out? Please. And thank you. And if you guys can, please show back up to Cali.
1:01:07Show us some love out here for the live shows. We want to see you guys again. We need you. Later.
1:01:14Shannon Sharpe:Appreciate you, man. I'm glad your mom is doing well. That's what the The power of prayer is stay prayed up. Know that we're still pulling for and happy birthday to you, bro. Appreciate the support. Happy birthday, too. Happy birthday, bro. Everybody that comes in and that's been rocking with us. I mean, you look at, you know, we get 20 and 30 ,000. And like you said, Ocho, we had 23 ,000 to chat. And here it is almost 4 o 'clock in the morning. And we still got pulling the numbers that we pull in. That's crazy. So we can't thank you enough. And as you hear it, I know sometimes it gets redundant.
1:01:44Shannon Sharpe:None of this happens without you. So, again, thank you. Glad your mom's doing much better. and happy birthday to you, guy.
1:01:50Chad Johnson:Yes, sir.
1:01:53Shannon Sharpe:Zombie underscore turtle. Sorry, but that's Jay, that boy. He legit. I've seen him play several times. You ain't got to convince me. You ain't got to convince me. I saw it up close and personal. This is about the third time that I've seen him play up close and personal. And every time I watch him, he's better than the last damn time.
1:02:11Chad Johnson:Hey, but give the Lakers credit. This is the first game he really got out in this series. Yeah, but it was the best one. He was special tonight.
1:02:20Shannon Sharpe:And that's what the Grays do. When you absolutely got to have it, he went and got it. Kaladis go, Braun to the Wizards this summer. Trade to Bonzo Braun, AD Sark. What?
1:02:34Chad Johnson:Hey, that was funny. That was funny. No. That was funny.
1:02:40Shannon Sharpe:Damn, fresh out in the arena with it like DoorDash. Yeah, man, hey. Like I said, man, hey. Like, once a – man, I thought, what you call him, travel too. Did he travel, Joe? Did they replay it? Did he travel? Chad. Who's your mom? When he dunked the ball and put him up one.
1:02:57Chad Johnson:I don't know if he traveled. I don't remember. I don't know if he traveled, though.
1:03:04Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Nightcap, I just turned 19 today. I think I just want to say I love watching while I'm at work and while I work out. Love you guys. I appreciate that, Jordan. Thank you guys for the support. Appreciate that. I really appreciate that. Hey, man, I was close. As a matter of fact, like two chairs down was Eddie. Eddie was two chairs down from him. Jimmy Iovine was the chair next to him. Then it was another guy and my partner that we shared the tickets with. He was there. But, boy, man, look, man, when you go there, ain't nothing but protects. Ain't nothing but APs. Ain't nobody wearing no. Ain't nobody wearing no.
1:03:43Shannon Sharpe:So as a matter of fact, I think Jimmy Iovine might have had an Apple watch on, but everybody else, man, it's ridiculous. The guy was telling me, he said, man, you see that guy crossed the way from him? He said, yeah. He said, man, you tried to put a million dollars on the over. I said, what was it? He said, 2.14 and a half. He said, but he tried to call 10 minutes before, and the bookie wouldn't take it. Damn. So he the one. because they scored, what was 216? But the bookie wouldn't take it. I said, a million? I said, shh.
1:04:25Shannon Sharpe:Hey, don't worry about it. Hey, you wouldn't even have been able to enjoy the game. Hell no. But see, me and Ocho had this conversation. That's what I was telling Ocho. That's why the people get so upset. They can't enjoy the game because they look as well. How many catches does he got? How many yards does he got? How many tackles does he have? Is he under this? Is he over that? What's the score? So you can't enjoy the game to watch it because you're watching all this because you're so tied up my parlay. Man, I just need A.J. Brown to get this. Will I need Chase to have 10 catches? Will I need this guy to have 42 yards?
1:05:01Will I need this defense to – man, how do you enjoy it?
1:05:04Chad Johnson:You know what? The funny thing about it is I don't want to be disrespectful to those that gamble. But when you have people that gamble at that level on spending that kind of money, you know, a million dollars on a game, whatever they're doing it for. I don't think there is as serious about it. I think they will go there and enjoy the game still and not be so caught up in and all the semantics of it and who does what. Because, OK, if I lose, I lose to be able to have a million dollars to lose anyway. You ain't really tripping. you ain't tripping like that as opposed to someone else that's relying on players to do what they
1:05:40Shannon Sharpe:need to do to make sure they win let me ask you a question when you go when you go watch the bingles can you enjoy the game oh hey lovely i can't not with the raw i can't enjoy the game because i want them to win you can't yeah oh okay i can't but they just and you know it ain't like i just go watch somebody else i ain't got no vested interest in it i can just sit back like whatever hey oh Yeah, he scored. Okay, good. Oh, they got to pick. Okay, good. Not when I'm watching the Bronco. Hell no. Right.
1:06:07Chad Johnson:Right.
1:06:08Shannon Sharpe:No. I can't watch no game like that. Bass Zion. My boy is trash. We got a long way to go. Swept and embarrassed. We need some real two-way guards. A true center. Trey Luka AR for Giannis. Damn.
1:06:24Chad Johnson:Well, I think right now, especially Laker fans, they're prisoners of the moment. You got to understand you didn't have your leading scorer in the NBA, which is Luka. Hell, he probably would have at least got you a game, maybe even two. But, I mean, you were under man throughout this whole series. I mean, getting swept didn't surprise me.
1:06:45Shannon Sharpe:All I'm saying is why couldn't we get this effort all four games? Why we just took it this game right here? Because think about it, Joe. They played good for a quarter. Game three, they played good for a half. Tonight they played good the whole game. Yeah, they lost. But I'm like, bro, this is the kind of effort that we needed.
1:07:05Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah.
1:07:10Shannon Sharpe:Why take Rudy out, who's your best shooter for Kleber, who didn't play all games? Didn't I tell y 'all the only time I want him in the game, you up 40 or you down 40?
1:07:25Shannon Sharpe:and I want you and I want I want Rui shooting the shot while you're bulljiving yeah
1:07:31Chad Johnson:he was hot he been hot all damn series
1:07:35Shannon Sharpe:instead of doing the intro from the car handling menace like he's in studio big place she ain't still at it I started let Ocho I figured Ocho but Ocho ain't got the prompt so I he couldn't I figured I better go ahead and take it take it over
1:07:50Chad Johnson:Hey, you got – I'm going to do it. We on tomorrow. Yeah.
1:07:54Shannon Sharpe:We let Joe do it. We let Joe take it over.
1:07:57Chad Johnson:All right. Yeah.
1:08:01Shannon Sharpe:The bad kills all up. Why didn't you let ISO and Ocho open up while you were in the car? Hey, all I could do is I could hear the countdown, and then when they threw it to me, I just went. But if they had started, I would have let them finish. Loud City is about to be turned up. I'm big-tipped my hat in L.A. They made it tougher than I thought up 12. Hey, you got the Lakers came back. I mean, it's just so hard when you're so defensively challenged and when you get down because it's so hard for you to get stopped. And if you do so happen to get back in the game, you so exhausted Joe and Ocho from getting yourself back in the game, that's really hard for you to get that push to get over the hump.
1:08:47Chad Johnson:Yeah.
1:08:50Shannon Sharpe:Deshaun, today is the 12th. Hope today is kind for you and your family. Happy birthday, Granny. Yeah, yeah, it's definitely – yeah, it's May 12th. Man, these days start to run together so fast, man, because, you know, you're on the road and, you know, you do a night camp, you know, five, six days. I think last month we did 24 shows in 30 days.
1:09:17Shannon Sharpe:But yeah, man, I'm going to get off to myself tomorrow and talk to her. Let her know that her baby's doing okay. And I still miss her. Claire, LaBum James, LaTrash James, LaBrick James, Jordan the Goat. All right.
1:09:37Chad Johnson:Come on now.
1:09:38Shannon Sharpe:I hope my relationship becomes as strong as Unk's Wi-Fi signal right now.
1:09:48J.
1:09:48Shannon Sharpe:Andy Don, goodbye, everybody, besides Luca Rui. Luca Rui, Luke consistently three and smart. Time to use the three first-round picks on our payroll. Nick Claxton, DeAndre Hunter, stay close to your phone. Rob Palenka calling. man I like Claxton I like his energy them be some good Picos okay came on looking like looking like a five heartbeat
1:10:21Shannon Sharpe:I know Uncle Ocho can't read but someone explained to me why was Rui not on the laugh of the last shot we had I don't know you said canard you said canard went out there either No, I think – hold on. GP said because he thought they were like the defensive situation because they wanted to get a stop. They got the stop, and I guess they went ahead and played. Because like I said, I had left. Once they got down one, I had left. And I guess they had missed a shot. And then I guess Shea made two free throws, and now they're down three. And so I don't – like I said, I didn't see. I just did see that what you call them, they made a substitution.
1:11:02Shannon Sharpe:so I don't know that is something that did they ask did they ask JJ did they ask him during his press conference why wasn't Roy on the floor for that three-pointer tip
1:11:14Chad Johnson:nah I don't think they asked but I think you're talking about the three that Austin Reeves ended up shooting right I think the play was for Austin Reeves for him to shoot the ball period point blank I don't think he was passing if y 'all just want me to be honest
1:11:27Shannon Sharpe:pinch flinch the season on the line Rui on the bench. Thunder and 4. Shaking my head. I'm shaking my head too. Nightcap. Fam, Doc, here. Never seen a 7-footer like DeAndre Ayton. Not do anything out there. He's useless. Then he goes out of net dominating Che like he's Shaq in the Lakers uniform. What? I think I'm saying, bro. Hey, but that's why you got to get
1:11:53Chad Johnson:big guys like him involved early because if you don't, his ass ain't going to be engaged the whole thing.
1:11:58Shannon Sharpe:Joe, it is so hard to get him involved early because you don't really do nothing to help you.
1:12:07Chad Johnson:I can't Yeah, you know what? He hadn't really been that lob through it and when you hit him in them little pocket pass Yeah, so I mean, I really don't know what you do.
1:12:22Shannon Sharpe:The convo started up. DeAndre only dominating the bench. He got that chain for the Chinese league he about to debut in next year.
1:12:35Shannon Sharpe:For all you Legault haters, MJ never saw half the talent LeBron faced in his career. Let's be real here. Teams were specially built to beat LeBron. Oh, yeah. No question. Yeah, of course. Yeah.
1:12:50Chad Johnson:No question.
1:12:51Shannon Sharpe:It's just, man, I just, I ain't seen nothing like this. I mean, to watch OKC in person, it's crazy. It is crazy. I mean, to watch a team that just click on all cylinders. I saw the heat, but it was in the finals. I never saw the heat in a regular season game. I didn't see Shaq and Kobe in their prime in a regular season game. I can imagine. I saw them when they came to Denver, but I don't even think Shaq played that day, that night. I saw Jordan in the 90s, those Bulls teams. You got to see this thing, the way they operate. It's a thing of beauty to watch.
1:13:37Shannon Sharpe:That completes this episode of Nightcap. We've got a series in the Cleveland-Detroit because it's 2-2 headed back to Detroit. And the OKC Thunder, they took care of business tonight and they got an outstanding performance from Jay Mitchell and Shea. And that was the difference in the ball game, even though the Lakers played extremely well. I think they maxed out, minus the turnovers. Maybe instead of having 19, if they have 15, they win the game. But give OKC credit because that's what they do. They're the number one defense. They turn you over, and they did that tonight. And that's why they're moving on to the Western Conference Finals for the second, for the what, the third year in a row?
1:14:18Shannon Sharpe:For the third year in a row? please make sure you hit that subscribe oh before we get to that y 'all know who i am i'm your favorite that's my partner and co-host ah he's a pro bowler and an all pro he's chad ocho cinco johnson and the seven-time nba all-star from the atlanta hawks he's iso joe johnson please make sure you hit that subscribe button please make sure you hit the like button and go subscribe to the night cat podcast feed wherever you get your podcasts from thank you for your support because none of this is possible. 1:15:30Shannon Sharpe:Please drink responsibly and stay safe. Thunder beat the Lakers to sweep the series 115 to 110. Shea was sensational tonight. He had 35 points, made 12 of 15 free throws. Jay Mitchell was 28 points, 4 Cs, 4 steals. Excuse me. on 12th of 18 shooting.
1:15:56Donovan Mitchell, 39 second half points,
1:15:59Shannon Sharpe:had an opportunity to break Sleepy Floyd's record in which he scored 39 points with 29 seconds. He made the first one to tie the record, missed the second one that would have broke the record, but he had four points in the first half, ends up with 43 thanks to scoring 39 in the second half, 15 points in a big 24-0 run with the last 12 seconds of the first half and the first six minutes of the third quarter to kind of break the ball game open. And they got an outstanding game. I think they got 24-11 from James Harden. Y 'all know who I am. I'm your favorite up. He's Ocho. He's Iso. Thank you for joining us.
1:16:31Shannon Sharpe:We'll see you tomorrow night. Peace. Peace.
