In short

Big3 recap and NBA debates—especially whether LeBron in Philly will “hold back” Joel Embiid, plus whether the Warriors are mishandling Steph Curry’s situation. They also discuss Big3 physicality, playoff positioning, and Eastern Conference preseason expectations.

Guests (on-air)

No clear episode-specific guest list is provided in the transcript. The hosts include “Smooth” and “T” (plus “AT”/“Teague” referenced), and they take chat/Q&A comments. A “P.J. Tucker” live-show guest is mentioned from a prior event.

Guest backgrounds mentioned

Big3 players/figures referenced include Lance Stephenson (“Lance”), “B’s” (implied to be James “Big3” player), Greg Monroe, and “Murph” (former pro). NBA players discussed: LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jalen Brown, Stephen Curry, and Jalen Brown’s Celtics context.

Key claims

Big3 is more physical than it looks; refs call little. Philly’s success depends on Embiid health and managing regular-season wear. LeBron is expected to play a Magic Johnson-style facilitator role, not be a scoring burden. Warriors “shouldn’t” trade Steph; Clay Thompson’s value and contract/return are debated.

Notable examples

Big3 game scorelines (Detroit 52-49 Chicago; Miami 50-40 over DMV; Dallas beating Houston; Montreal’s shooting). Embiid/LeBron fit compared to Phoenix/Nash-era role changes; Jalen Brown’s playoff defense on Luka is cited.

2:48Yeah. Yeah, we're going to do a little big three. Y 'all been squabbling up. Y 'all been squabbling up in that gym. Yeah, man. Detroit beat Chicago 52-49. Y 'all see Nasdaq out here doing his thing. You know, he had a game win over Montreal when they played. Montreal averaging 36 a game. Yeah, he going crazy. He going crazy. And, man, he probably ain't played but, like, three games. but here 36 or 36 yeah they may average in 36 i've seen they just posted the uh the mvp voting and it's like him bees i think jeremy pargo in there and it might be like one more person but it's gonna be hard to beat that chicago team they got too many veteran guys meaning guys who don't play in the league you got him you got amir johnson you got barbosa uh uh who else they got on that damn team.

3:39They got a nice squad. They're still fast, bro. Yeah, yeah. That is crazy. We got a clip. We got a clip playing right now. Of the triplets and the amps. Oh, they got body bag over there. I like body bag. Teague, I know you know a little something about body bag. He was on my team one year. I played in the big three, man. He can hoop. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah, these boys getting to it, man. it's probably gonna come down to this uh montreal just hitting ridiculous shots out here bro yeah he hope yeah i hope i hope the league continue to grow bro i ain't gonna lie to y 'all uh uh it's very therapeutic for me at this point in stage you know in my life i still love competing bro i still love playing i still love preparing i still love weight training i still love getting on the treadmill running you know what i mean i just love being in shape bro how you feel huh How your knee feeling?

4:36It's getting that smooth. I'm sprinting, running, cutting. I just ain't, you know, I ain't taking it too fast, bro. I'm taking it easy. You know what I mean? I can get you in ones right now, then. You can get me in ones right now, T? Probably. Nah. I know you're supposed to play Ocho. I'm going to play him first. I'm going to walk the dog on Ocho. You hear me? Yeah, I'ma walk the dog on Ocho. You say it's gonna be different over there with you? Yeah, it'd be a little different, bro. Y 'all don't have to pull up on y 'all really. I see you and your little brother, y 'all be in the gym playing pickup and all that.

5:17I'ma have to come down there and see what y 'all got going down over there in Indiana. Yeah, we be hoping. Yeah, yeah. You got other teams like the Boston team that's got Jeremy Pargo and Deshaun Stevenson. Deshaun had 22 and 8 Pargo had 20 They Since like the first game or two They done picked it up They been playing great They been in the thick of it bro At the end of the day Y 'all know they gonna start cutting these teams Probably about another week or so If you ain't qualified to make the playoffs So I'll be tuned in man These boys right there getting to it I think what people don't understand About three on three or the big three Is a lot harder than what it looks like on TV bro Man, who you tell me?

6:03Y 'all both played in it. Y 'all know you think, hell, it's just half court. I ain't got to be in great shape. That big, you're physical too, bro. Man, listen, now it's the most physical game, smooth and tic-down. Like, because you got to understand, the ref ain't going to call everything, bro. You know, this ain't like - They don't call nothing. Call it nothing, bro. They don't. It's physical, bro. It's physical. But I enjoy it. I enjoy it. Oh, my God. You see, hey, hey, hey, I thought Jordan was going to put his stamp on it this shit, man. gonna go for the mvp but they hadn't they got off to a decent start but they've been slow motion there yeah that's my boy jc dwight playing yeah the white he played in like the first couple games i don't think he played in the last two saying yeah you got uh you you got uh got miami beat uh dmv 50 to 40 earl clark made history passing joe johnson a la myself becoming the big three's all-time leading scorer.

7:02But Miami owned them. You know, when you got the Miami 305 and you got Lance and you got Bees, bro. That's a tough duo. It is, man. Like Lance can have his own damn team. You know what I mean? That two-headed monster, tough to stop. Then you got these hardworking guys around them. You know, they always going to be in it. They won it last year. I'm sure they're going to try to, you know, make this late surge to where they can compete, at least compete for another championship. But it's going to be rough coming down the stretch here. B's got a lot in this game, bro. Yeah, he caught. He caught. He got a lot in this game.

7:44And when Lance Wright, he got a lot in this game, too. They tough to beat. If both of them, you know, kind of get it going at the same time. Yeah. If we're only going to 50, if both of them are going to get you 20, 22 points, it's gonna be hard to stop them boy yeah right

8:03and we got uh we got one more dallas beat houston uh dallas the one had got off to a great start too you know uh that's your boy in this move greg monroe yes sir good mushroom monroe was getting buckets early he couldn't be stopped him and a little steward you know glenn wright still do his thing out there moves that uh that houston rigs team they got some solid guys i like murph uh who was they got over there you know murph was uh shit he was he was almost mvp one year yeah he'd be hoping yeah murph because i think he played with c somewhere still yeah he got game got it boy yeah man they clinched the playoff spot already uh the dallas power they clinched the playoff spot and they rolling bro big three will be in miami this friday in atlanta on sunday for week three hey smooth we might have to pull up when they come here to the a bro we might have to pull up and see what they got going on yeah we're gonna have to go for sure what day Hey, this Sunday coming up.

9:19This Sunday. Yeah. All right. Hey, I got to get back out there, man. When you come back out this way? I don't know, man. We supposed to have a live show, man. We're going to go on tour here soon, so. Oh, hold on. I'm talking about like the same thing y 'all did last time? Yeah. Yeah. Y 'all putting more cities together? Yeah, we got, I think, going to eight leg. Oh, yeah? Yeah. All right, man. y 'all let me know man y 'all come back to the a you know you know i'll pull up you know hey hey we had a good little old time last time but we yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah great time great time i think hey i think myself and uh okay ocho man i think they're gonna try to do some do some live shows here you know in the in the upcoming months so i don't know man y 'all y 'all y 'all I'm probably going to see your boy a lot sooner than anticipated.

10:14Hey, were y 'all out there in the Fanatics Fest? Yeah, we went out there. We had a live show. I think we did it on that. Wednesday or Thursday. I can't remember. That Thursday, we had a live show with P.J. Tucker. Oh, okay. We're going to get the same guest y 'all get, because it looked different. It looked different. Hey, all right. Look, look, look. Check this out. I want to circle back. I want to circle back to the Sixers. I know we're talking about them, but ever since LeBron has signed with the Sixers, bro, it's been nonstop coverage, and rightfully so. You know what I mean? I know we talked a bit about MB.

10:53My thing is, do y 'all think he'll hold them back? Like, considering the fact, I mean, think about this. Last year when he didn't play, I thought Maxie and Edgecombe was at their best. I ain't going to lie to you. The way they got up and down the floor, the way they played together, the way it looked like they were having fun. That's the only problem that I have with Bron going to Philly because everything revolves around Joel Embiid. Because think about it. If he's not playing, hell, that's going to hurt you. But if he ain't healthy and he's laboring up and down the court, I mean, what good is it going to be?

11:30Can you really depend on him in an 82-game season? And then, hell, we know how everything revs up in the postseason. like can you really count on him to be healthy and be there for this sixer team tell me what you give me y 'all thoughts bro do y 'all think it'd be really gonna is he gonna be that factor that they need him to be to be able to compete for a title you got it smooth i mean uh if he's healthy but i don't like i think that they building this team to kind of like have pieces missing during the regular season. So I think this is a playoff-built team. I don't think that they're going to do a lot of wear and tear with Joel Embiid.

12:16Whatever they know about his knees, they know it. So I think they're going to take more precaution. I think when he rests and plays, he's a better player. and like so I'm trying to figure out like do you really play him a lot in the regular season you mean make him play limited minutes like limited minutes sometimes miss games you know I'm saying maybe play half the season dang what you thinking T because I'm just thinking about the rhythm though Yeah, yeah. I'm with you on that too, though. I'm with you on that too. And like Joe said, it takes, like you said, you got to throw the ball to him.

13:06You got to post him. You have to post him. You got to have him at the top of the key with the ball. So I think those other guys can move the ball well, but LeBron wants the ball in his hands too. So how does that work? Like he wants the ball. He wants to be able to dictate the offense and facilitate to him as well. So how does that work as far as like – and I'm not saying, like you said, I don't think LeBron is tripping about scoring because it's a lot of young guys on the team. He's working out with Tyrese Maxey right now. They've been in the gym together. Yeah. I don't think he's necessarily concerned with that type of burden on his hands, but I definitely think he does want to play kind of like a Magic Johnson role with his team.

13:52So you're saying, excuse me, Brown want to play more of a Magic Johnson role, and he don't want to have to toe the weight of that trying to score 25, 24 a night. You know, he just want to be able to magic that thing, get him 10, 12 assists, 18 points. Yeah, what do you think? Maybe one 12 and be, you know, to get up and down a little more too. with this team. Yeah, I keep thinking, like, we keep forgetting about, like, now we're not forgetting about him, but Jalen Brown, he coming from almost averaging, what, 28, 29 points a game? One of the best players in the league last year. Yeah, we got to factor in, he still got to be Jalen Brown.

14:33Like, he can't be taking a backseat to nobody. Tyrese Maxey, he had his best when he's scoring. So I'm trying to figure out, we know Joel Embiid going to miss time. Who's the backup center? They lost Drummond. They got Boner. Boner, that hard-playing, high-energy cat. Yeah, but like, y 'all living with y 'all rolling? I mean, look, when you got JB, him and Maxie probably top five in the NBA in fast break points. For sure. Here's my thing. That's my only problem. It's like, I don't want to see Philly get bogged down trying to throw at the NBA every other damn play, and you get them guys out of sync to where they're not even engaged in the game.

15:17They ain't really getting no easy looks. I think these young guys, Edgecombe, Maxie, and even JB, they're going to thrive off defense, steals, and transition. If they ain't able to do that, bro, it's going to be hard for them to win. You know, we walking the ball over the court every day. We're going to have to rely on that for sure. What's that? Steals and transition. I think JB is going to get some plays in the half court. like, cause you got, VJ was playing super well until Paul George got back and then he had to take a backseat to Paul George a little bit. So I'm just like, he is a piece, a valuable piece, but like T said, one of them guys are gonna get the, they're gonna get the sharp end of the sword and it's probably gonna be him.

16:08And you know what? You probably right to a degree, but I feel like they all, to some extent, T, they all going to have to sacrifice. Yeah, of course. It'd be a good team. JB ain't going to average no damn 28. Maxie ain't going to average no 28. I know what you said about Edgecombe. If you're averaging 16, 17, you want to build on that, especially as a young player. Maybe you stay there but take your efficiency up. Yeah. I just don't think Bron is going to be a problem. My only concern, I'm telling you, my only was Embiid, bro. I just want to know where his mindset is, what type of shape he's going to come into.

16:43And with JB and Bron really taking care of themselves so much, like on as far as health-wise and playing in games, I hope Joel Embiid follows suit. I hope he rubs off on him to where he gets back to being that dominant center. He ain't got an average no damn 25, 30. But you want him to be efficient, and you want him to be assertive. You want him to be the mismatch. I'm telling you. I don't know if y 'all seen the reports where he said him and Bron had a real they met up and had a one on one because think about it if you Bron bro you gotta know what this man thought process is he even trying to get up out of here does he want to even be here I know he's making a lot of money I think his money kicking in so it's gonna be hard to trade him so I think they're gonna be able to figure this thing out I think all those guys gonna really have to take somewhat of a backseat if they want to be a great team and I can just tell y 'all this bro I remember playing in Phoenix and the year before we got Nash and Quentin Richardson.

17:43We weren't no damn playoff team. We were trabbed. I was out there getting money, Teague and Smooth. I was out there getting money. You hear me? So when they said that they were bringing in Nash and Quentin Richardson, I didn't really know what to expect. You know what I mean? I probably averaged, I think I averaged 18 points in the regular season and 20 in the postseason. Now, I'm your fourth or fifth option. Hell, you ain't got that in the NBA no more. Ain't no fourth or fifth option in the NBA averaging no 18 or 20 points a game. I'm playing with the MVP. I'm playing with three bona fide all-stars in Steve Nash, Amari Stoudemire, Sean Marion.

18:22You have to find a way to be effective, meaning be more efficient. I probably shot 50-something from the field. I was second. I was number one in the NBA in three-point percentages that year. and Quinn Richardson led the NBA in three-point makes. So it's like you got to really lock in. I'm like, damn, we got to pass first point guard. And Steve Nash, who probably could have averaged it, if you just want to beat 100, he could have averaged 22, 24 a game. That man settled for 16 a night and 13 assists. You see what I'm saying? Like if you get you a situation like that to where you get a guy who really comes in and make everybody around him better, and I think that's what LeBron does, man, the sky's the limit for that team, bro, because they not lacking nothing.

19:08But y 'all ain't had Joel Embiid, though. We had Amari, though. We had him like, hey, Amari was a dog team. No disrespect to Amari, but he a pick-and-roll player. And this is the thing. So if you got two guys like Amari and Steve Nash running pick-and-roll, and then you got the top three-point shooter mate in Quinn Richardson and the top three-point percentage in me, you have to give up something. It's like, okay, boom, we're going to stay home. Amari got 50 points with 10 dunks. You see what I'm saying? Yeah, but they don't got that. But what I'm saying is if Embiid is right, bro, he can fill that void.

19:52That can be his role. I ain't saying he going to score 30 a night. But when he out there, y 'all know that man hard to stop, bro. Yeah, for sure. But you got to throw the ball to Embiid at the top of the key. He won't close up, though. And he can get two to play him. He can get a double team. He can kick it out. Guy's going to have open shots. But that's not JB game. JB ain't a catch-and-shoot player. He can make threes. He's not a catch-and-shoot player. Maxie can make threes, but I like the ball in Maxie's hand creating. I do, too. DJ Eskimo, he can make a three, but he a slasher. He can hit a three.

20:26Bron, he shot 31 % last year. He can make a three. you know what's gonna have to happen they're gonna have to be a dog defensively bro i'm keeping real because i think about this offensive scores i know i know but you got you got to you got jb who a two-way guy i think can eventually be a two-way guy i don't think maxi bad at defending i just think hell he loves going to ball that's just what it is you know what i mean i think mb can still go to a degree yeah i don't think you know you switch him out there on on one of these little point guards or something. You know, he can slide his puppy for a step or two, but at some point he probably, but I just think Bron play from the shoulders up.

21:10You know what I mean? Like mentally, he's so far ahead of all these young dudes. Y 'all got to think, man, a lot of these cats wasn't even born here who he finna be playing against. You know what I'm saying? So I always think Bron gonna have the mental edge. And I just think Philly, if staying healthy, everything comes down to health. man they got a great chance to do something special y 'all know how them fans are in philly i don't know it ain't too many more than any huh who's the top eight in the east top eight in the east yeah who's the top eight like if you had to say preseason uh i'm gonna probably go not right from one ages okay i'm gonna go i'm gonna go who you going to detroit i got some names for y 'all We just did this the other day.

21:54We got Miami. Yeah. You got Sixers. Yeah. You got Celtics. You got Detroit. You got Hawks. You got Cleveland. You got Cleveland. Now, I was going to ask y 'all about Cleveland. You say Knicks. You got Knicks. Knicks, the best team in the East. You got like a solid nine teams. You still got Charlotte. You still got Washington. Two teams there. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. What about Orlando? What about Orlando? You still got Orlando. them you think you think charlotte gonna make some noise t i like charlotte bro they got a good team i know lamella was the star but for some reason i like what they built knuckle i think brandon miller gonna have a really really good year kobe white was solid for them this year he gonna enter the starting row i just think they got a good group uh i don't be surprised man don't be surprised now like i like him they got some hard working guys over there too diabate that's his name i like him he played hard hard i just think kobe white was so great in coming over from that trade from chicago that's why they were able to get rid of uh lamello i thought lamello created value for himself and if y 'all want me to be honest i don't really think they were that high on mellow on lamello you know what i mean which is why they was gentrifying the team that need to like ginger find the team that's all it was there's a little justification going on it's all good yeah yeah hey check this out when you're teeing off and your clients are watching it's on when the game goes to overtime and your squad is right there with you it's on when you swap out that other nicotine pouch for something softer and feel the difference right away it's on on plus nicotine pouches with Nico Silk Mesh no corners no rough edges just the softest pouch on the planet When there's nothing between you and what's next, it's on with On Plus Nicotine Pouches.

27:51Two year 150 that thing? Yes sir. I would have it, two year 162? It's supposed to be hard. Yeah, yeah. Is that what it is? Yeah, something like that. You know the thing is, ain't nobody tripping on that bro, cause it's greatest stuff it's been. You know what I mean? It's like. He created a dynasty in that place. Man, what you talking about? He created a dynasty. Come on man. Two year 162? God bless him. just took the 62. You got to bring Clay back for the one for 62. You got to bring Clay back? Yeah, let him go one for 62. Just go ahead and wipe him one more time. Sometimes, bro, it's hard to come back from that, especially when you're a player.

28:34Y 'all got to think about everything that Clay Thompson helped do for their Warriors franchise, and they just kind of... It wasn't no smooth exit for him, bro. You know, so I think for him to come back, I don't know. Did you ever go back to a team y 'all played for? If Boston did Isaiah Thomas how they did, I'd know that, I'd just know. Oh yeah. You say what, T? Did you play for another team that you, you played for the Celtics? Yeah. At the twice, right? Nah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I was 40 years old when I went back, bro. Got me a little bucket. You know what I mean? Little 10 day contract, got me a little bucket smooth, huh?

29:19that's when COVID was jumping right yeah so look it was my daughter birthday I'll never forget it's December uh 19th it was her birthday and I got a call they were like man we got like nine dudes down with COVID like we need some players I'm like what hey say less boy boy hey put me on a flight I got to come take my physical I'm ready right man they put me on that flight I got that took my physical that morning and like i probably got there about like nine ten something that morning took my physical and the rest of the day i was just chilling in like the hotel i went over to the arena early got me some shots up as if i had been playing the whole season you know what i'm talking about winning that got me some shots up hey he didn't tell me they never told me that i was gonna play i just assumed that i was you know what i mean man he put me in he put me in that first game and uh i went down there and got me a little bucket mind you we probably ain't got but like eight players dressing out smooth and teague so i'm thinking okay damn i got 10 days yeah we got we played on christmas and some more stuff so it's like oh yeah i'm gonna get some more run man i ain't touched the flow no damn mo man i ain't getting no more burn i'm talking about we playing teams hold on listen we playing team blowing them out i'm like oh yeah i know you and throw me in now no burn i ain't get no more burn out the game one i'm talking about we have but eight players we have but but i i enjoyed it though i enjoyed it uh i got a chance to you know really spend some time with jb and jt uh that was cool if they they made it to the finals that year and played the warriors and lost had they won you gotta bring me a ring man i went back to the hawks for the second time.

31:04How was that? Man, they got a whole country club. You remember we used to practice in that little dungeon in the back of the arena. Yeah, yeah. They got a country club. They had all types of stuff. I'm like, man, what? I said, bro, we would have made it to the finals. We had this. I'm trying to tell you, man. No, no, no, listen. If you couldn't get the food, then you right on the plane. Man, what? Bro, bro, look. I know y 'all probably done been to the Hawks practice facility. Have y 'all been there? That's where I went. That's the country club I'm talking about. That's what they're talking about.

31:35That's what they're talking about. Oh, man. Hey, look, I ain't gonna lie, bro. Every time I go in there, bro, I be jealous and mad as I don't know what. Be thinking, man, I tell people all the time, bro, we practice in there. We had to practice with the Taco Mac. The Taco Mac. Man, come on, man. They making tacos. Yeah, they smoke all in the practice. We practice through it. We practice. Smoking all kinds of stuff. Hey. Hey. Hey. They got it made in the shade now, boy. They got laid out for them boys out there now. I went back in there, man. They had my locker. I'm like, yeah. I went to the practice court.

32:06So I'm shooting around. They was like, oh, we don't practice here no more. I'm like, where y 'all? Y 'all got a practice spot? They like, yeah, it's in Brookhaven. I go up there. I said, hey, man, y 'all don't understand. Y 'all so lucky. They was just throwing their shoes everywhere. I'm putting my stuff all in order. I'm appreciative. I'm like, it's nice. They was just throwing it. Man, it was different, bro. But, nah, it was wicked when I came back that second time. I was like, nah, I'm good. They offered me a one-year deal. I said, I'm straight. It was a lot different when you came back. I wasn't rolling with that team.

32:40I was like, nah. Who was coaching? Who was coaching, T? Lloyd Pierce. He a cool dude, bro. I like Lloyd. I know him. They had him tied up. When I first got there, the first day they told me, I get there. I was hyped to come back. I was number zero. Somebody had zero. I was like, let me get my number, bro. He's like, nah, you're going to take my minutes. So I didn't give you my number. I was like, I wear double zero. I ain't tripping. So Lloyd Pierce called me up there. He was like, man, you going to play every game. I'm like, cool. All right, bet. He like, yeah, you got 19 minutes. I don't care if you had 30 in 19 minutes.

33:13I don't care if you got two. You going to play 19 minutes and that's it. He said, don't look for nothing more. And I played 19 minutes exactly every game. And he was like, it ain't me. That's all I kept saying. It ain't me. He's like, it's up top. I was like, yeah, it's not for me. a lot of these coaches bro uh they get these coaching jobs and they have to they have to be a puppet yeah i mean and you know what i mean like they they take an order from up top they playing guys who those guys up top want to play it ain't necessarily about what the coach what the coach is doing so that's an unfortunate situation but i know coming back here you probably thought it was gonna be lit well what i thought i was like yeah i ain't never leaving i'm about to sign a three-year deal.

33:55I'm back home. I said, what? Ain't nothing like the A is, baby. What? I couldn't wait. I still had a house there, too. I went straight to my crib. I had my car in the garage. I was hyped. Man, I couldn't wait. I said the same thing when we played against y 'all in the postseason when I was in Brooklyn. What? We finna go to the A. We gonna be out there for at least four, five days. I'm gonna be at the crib, chilling. It ain't no better feeling than that, so I know and understand, bro. Yeah, we got it. We got it on your ass. Look, look, look. I think what y 'all was a one seed? Was y 'all a one seed team?

34:34I don't remember. We just made it look easy. Hold on, hold on. We just made it look easy. Hold on, hold on. We won a couple games. Now, y 'all was number one. Y 'all was like, what, one game? We won two. We won two games now. I had one game. I think I had like 18 assists. I didn't even score. I know man. Y 'all were so hard to stop because you know you had to pay so much attention to Kyle Corbett because you could give his ass no space. You know what I mean? I wanted to beat y 'all so bad. I wanted to beat y 'all more than anything because when Joe left, Joe was like this is my first time playing with a real point guard.

35:09Like I was hot. I was like what? He was like you know he will. I was hot. You don't know. You don't you think you want to beat us bad? Boy I want to spike y 'all ass up in here hey boy listen we just we just didn't have we ain't have enough bro we ain't y 'all were too y 'all were too good let me tell you how smooth so i seen smooth we went to i can't remember what the spot was called smooth had just signed with detroit and it's me and mike scott in the club and it was smooth and we talking smooth like he had casey p with him he like we on your ass man we're gonna kill y 'all y 'all y 'all soft man you ain't got nobody we like that you In my mind, I'm like, damn, everybody gone.

35:50I don't know Paul and them like that. I'm like, damn, they might really beat us. I'm like in my head a little bit. So we play them in a season. Smooth at the three. We beat them. We beat them by three. Shitty game, too. I was so hyped. I was mad as hell, too. I was like, man, stupid. But I would have thrown the number three out the window. Hey, hold up. Hold up. Hold up. AT, when I was in Brooklyn, we won in Detroit. Smooth. First game, home opener. We popped them boys in their home. I'm talking about went berserk. You hear me? Yeah, yeah. Hey, hey, hey. What I do on the back end though, I always get my leg back.

36:28Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Little brook low, yeah, little yeah. I came down there and holler that y 'all. I got the holler. I got it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He can't do it. But I always enjoy competing against y 'all. Yeah, for sure. We always have our love. After we played Smooth, I ran up to him. I was like, yeah, boy. He was looking at me like, hey man, gone with all that. I was crying. Hey, I got one more for you T, before we get you up out of here, bro. It says, the Warriors reportedly decided not to trade for Jalen Brown because they felt, you know, he wouldn't be able to carry a franchise after Steph Curry retired.

37:08Wow, that's tough. They might have blew that. You think so? Yeah, they blew that. What? They said that? They blew that. Yeah, it's been important. It's time to go. Yeah, it's time to go. Yeah, it's time. We could have had Jalen Brown. It's crazy because JB was so - He went to Cal too. Huh? He went to Cal, University of Cal, so it's up there. He did, he did, but that boy can play, man. He got some game. I know analytics saying that he's not a great player, this, that, and the third. How does he do what he did with Boston with what he had during the regular season. How does he do that? Because he a great player.

37:46He is a great player. I also think the Boston Celtics with Joe Mazzula doing over there, I think he has a great system, a great plug-and-play system. But obviously you got to have a great player or two to help carry things. I just thought – I think J.B. a hell of a player, bro, and he's going to be determined to do whatever he can to win another damn title. I hate people giving him that narrative like he can't be this, he can't be that because he won the most dynamic players in the league. He's a jack of all trades. That man can sit down and talk about anything with you. And he give you 30 ball.

38:30But it ain't even when you look at the championship run that they had, bro, how he took Luka out the game, me and the series, he's picking him up for a court, making his ass work. They wore him down, bro. They wore Luka down. You know what I mean? So it's like. Off season work too, like what he does in the off season, how he trains and how he gets his body. Like to testament to what you saying about how him and Brian take care of their bodies extremely well. But I like how he, he's basically showing everybody like different sports compliment the sport that he's playing. You get what I'm saying?

39:05Yeah. Like swimming, the track and field, What else was he doing? He just did baseball. Baseball. He was doing tap dancing. Salsa. You know what I'm saying? Like, all those type of things kind of coincide with basketball. So, I think he's kind of showing everybody, too, on how different sports complement each other, too. I want to ask y 'all, like, what more can he do? Who, JB? Yeah. To show that he's a franchise player. What more can he do? I guess be quiet. They want people to just be quiet, bro. I'm just... Nah.

39:46He's saying all the right things, man. And he's still in his prime. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, I'm like, what more? I don't understand. All I say is keep dominating. Keep doing what he's been doing. Take that same attitude to Philly. Enjoying life too, man. Yeah, yeah. He enjoying it. He having the time with it. He in the prime of his career. Man, he got so much that he can teach Maxi, Edgecombe. Yeah, he doing it like Artig did it, you know, bashing on that thing and enjoying his life. Yeah. Hey, hey. I'm sold up now. Yeah, yeah, you went Camel knees on me. You got the Camel knees. Yeah, you went down.

40:26What you mean? What happened? I just got married. You know he married. Oh, yeah, when you get married, bro? Man, I got married. Damn, don't do that. 2000, it's three years, three years.

40:43Hey, you in smooth and growed up over there, man. You boys big dolls over there, man. Yeah. Y 'all crazy, man. She about to call me now. That's about to call me. Come on, what? You know the day? All right, AT, appreciate it, baby boy. I appreciate y 'all, man. Yes, sir. We'll holla at you, my dude. All right, bro. All ready.

46:08He's 13 now. He plays AU basketball and an honor roll student. Can you shout out my son, Isaiah? Isaiah, what's happening, bruh? Your pop say you're an honor roll student. You playing AU basketball. Keep working, man. Don't let them boys outwork you, man. That's how it go. That's how you get to the top. Outwork the competition. Yes, sir. LeBronShip34 said, hold us down, Aiso. Come on, man, y 'all know I got you. Me and my boy, my player partner over here. It's a piston legend, Josh Smith. Shout out coach Stan. Stan was the coach when you was that smooth? Stan got me up out of there, shit. Nah, it was Mo Cheeks.

46:49You know, shout out Mo Cheeks though. You know what I'm saying? Mo Cheeks got you out of there? No, no, Stan got me up out of there. Oh, Stan got you. Mo Cheeks had your back. Yeah, Mo Cheeks had my back. Yeah, then when they fired him and then they fired Joe Dumas, I already knew what time it was. Oh yeah, you know Joe Dumas a legend. Hell, if this is - That's the one, he the GOAT. Oh yeah, they got him out of there. You know what was next. Yeah, absolutely. Bass Lab won. ISO holding it down. Come on, man. Y 'all already know that. It says Zeta Phenom. People in the chat talking about who's that.

47:24Like they don't know who J Smooth is. Oh, okay. I tell the chat like Shakur told, do your homework. All up. Yeah, yeah. Do your homework on my boy Smooth, man. Yeah, man. Do your homework. If you know, you know. What's this? MRG3284. Iso with the ham. Hello. Mike, Mike 100. What up new big three? If Brunny calls an ISO, and Brunny, if Brunny calls an ISO on Brun when the Lakers play 76ers, he say, do you think, do you think Brunny gonna call an ISO on Pops when they play the Sixers, bruh? Man, he don't wanna get embarrassed. Oh, nah, he gonna do it. He gonna do it. He gonna do it for the hood.

48:09He gotta do it for the hood. He got to go at him, Smo. He got to make, he got to make. What if he don't mix them though? What if he don't mix pop up though? He got the mix. Hey, hey, damn it, I can say I tried. I can say I tried. Hey, hey, when I do see pops, I be like, I want it your head, didn't it? Yeah, I am. Hey, yeah, yeah, I'm going at him. If that's me and my pops, boy, I'm going at his dome, you hear me? I got to see what them hips talking about. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, me. I got to see what's going on, pops. I know what they don't know. What's this, theorize? I don't know what that is.

48:47They said, man, Kobe and Jordan had super years for the time, plus the best coach Bulls lost two without MJ. He basically saying Kobe and Jordan had Phil Jackson. He had the best coach. I like to say to hell, Phil Jackson had the best damn players. I'm trying to tell you. Yeah. When have he not coached one of the greats? I'm trying to tell you. Oh, okay. I'm trying to tell you. Oh, okay. Okay. I thought we were really talking about something. I want to see Steve Kerr do it without Stephen Curry. You want to see what? I want to see Steve Kerr do it without Stephen Curry.

49:28Hey, man. You say, hey, hey. Without that beige brother over there, you say it would look different, huh? Hey, man. Wipe me down how they getting wiped down. If I'm coaching, you know what I mean? Let me step in the door like that. Hey, the one thing about it, bro, bro. If you're a great coach, I don't care what no damn by the same, you got to have some great players, bro. I'm talking about - Especially at that level. Yeah. I'm talking about to win a title, to win a championship. You got to have the best player. You got to have at least one or two great ones, bro. You think about it. You got to have three now.

50:05Oh yeah. You got to have three boys who can go get money. Right now. You know what I'm saying? Back in our day, it might have been two. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, I agree. I think all these great coaches, and there are some that are great, but, bro, you got to be able to – you got to have some talent with them. They ain't just going in no situation like no damn Charlotte and turning around into a championship contender. You know what I mean? And then the coaches that I think that are elite in today's game are the ones that can, like, get you to the playoffs and you fighting through all kind of just knick-knack injuries from all your superstar players and they don't pay, you know what I mean?

50:46Like they're not playing throughout the season and boom, y 'all somehow still make the playoffs. Oh, yeah. I look at those coaches as like, okay, those are elite coaches. Oh, yeah. Not only that, but when you get in the postseason, can you make those coaching adjustments that you need, you know, to be able to prevail in a series? I think that's understated, you know, especially in the NBA, bro, because when you really think about it, one player can really control a whole game in basketball. It ain't the same with football, but one player in basketball can control a game. Now, you do need multiple guys who can help along the way, but, man, if you got good coaching and good players, that's a great recipe for a championship run.

51:31I say no their roles, too, man. No their roles, no their limitations. I know. That's the biggest key, and that's what Philly going to have to deal with. that's what Miami the Miami Heat gonna have to deal with they gonna have to deal with learning chemistry and continuity early so they can try to get off to somewhat of a good start it's hard to it's hard playing against a team like the Knicks who already had that chemistry and continuity that they play with it's gonna be hard to beat teams like that because they already know the pecking order smooth they know everything run through Brunson and Cat and the rest to us, Bridges, Hart, OG.

52:10We're going to get what we can get, but we're going to be hella effective with it. Right. Oh, yeah. He's another great coach too, though. Who was that? Mike Brown, man. Oh, man. You look at Mike. I was thinking Wimbyama was unstoppable. I'm thinking he going to just walk through the league like that and win the championship? I'm thinking he just was going to do it. Smooth. And B put a scheme together for his big ass. Boy, that junk was crazy. And all they did was beef up the physicality, bro. Absolutely. Because when you got a guy that tall and that talented and you know he lack a little beef, you got to, bro.

52:59You got to be physical. You got to push him around. And you're right. I didn't see them beating the Spurs, bro, but they put together a hell of a game plan and i'm talking about them boy ran it to the t i mean considering the facts move think about this you down double figures in every game bro i'm talking about every game in the finals like i'm talking about big leads 29 point leads 16 point lead 15 bro when you blow all them games it's a long summer for you bro that's tough i couldn't man i couldn't be a spurs player right now thinking about all them losses that we blew you know i'm saying um but i ever like but the when I was watching the series and the games and I'm watching the Knicks and every game that they played in, they just didn't stop playing hard.

53:43Oh, no, no, no, no. It was just like some, man, they just, I'm like, man, this is the hardest playing team in the playoffs right now. Yeah. Hey, you think about it, bro. They had been like that the whole entire season. All the games, you count them out, they came back and won. In every series, bro. I mean, they had a... They had a couple games. They was down by 39. That was crazy, bro. Watching that game from start to finish was crazy. Hey, them boys did that, man. Shout out to the Knicks for winning the NBA championship. Hey, Smoo, appreciate you, baby boy. That's it for this episode of Nightcap.

54:29We appreciate everybody for tuning in. and make sure you hit that like and subscribe button, bro. We gonna be back tomorrow night, me and my player partner right here. I appreciate everybody for joining us. Stay on the lookout. We got more guests to come. We'll see y 'all tomorrow. Peace out, Smoove. My guys. Peace.
