In short
Sports debate and motivation—LeBron James’ “greatness” and criticism, Zion Williamson’s obsession with the process, and Bill Simmons’ prediction that Kevin Durant will enter the Hall of Fame as a Seattle SuperSonics player. The show also pivots into broader “routine/work ethic” talk and a Q&A covering football coaching/jobs and Tom Brady’s input with rookie QB Mendoza.
Guests/backgrounds
No traditional guests appear in the transcript. The hosts are Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson (Unc) and Joe Johnson (ISO Joe Johnson). They reference other sports figures (e.g., Byron Scott, Bill Simmons, Joe Dumars) as discussion points rather than interview guests.
Key claims
- LeBron’s team-hopping is defended: “great players don’t join multiple teams,” but the hosts argue LeBron’s results (Finals, Finals MVP, all-NBA) outweigh the “loyalty” criticism.
- Organizations also trade players; “loyalty” is demanded of players more than teams.
- Zion’s offseason work should be read as obsession/routine; greatness requires daily commitment, not occasional effort.
- Durant’s Hall of Fame induction should reflect his SuperSonics roots.
Notable examples
- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s trade from Milwaukee to L.A.; Shaq’s Lakers trade; comparisons to other stars’ team moves.
- LeBron’s 10 Finals appearances and “6 rings” framing; Bill Russell’s 11 titles and John Havlicek’s 8.
- Zion’s expected output (“at least 26” points) if he sustains current conditioning/work.

2:41Chad Johnson:What happened, man?
2:44Shannon Sharpe:Y 'all, I'm going to have to let you after this one first. Back for Scott on LeBron James being considered a goal. He says, great players don't join multiple teams. Most of us judge LeBron based on guys that just mentioned. I'll throw one more guy in there, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He got traded for Milwaukee to L.A., right? So two teams, his whole career, MJ, two teams basically, you know, and the whole career. So when you're judging LeBron, you're looking at a guy, the greatest players of all time, and what they did at those organizations, they basically never left.
3:16Chad Johnson:Come on, man. Huh? Huh? Hey, listen. I don't know why they go at Bron so much. Maybe it's because he did lead the Lakers, considering the fact that he could have went back there. He could have went back to L.A. on Ocho. But come on, man. I don't know why he gets the scrutiny that he gets. You know, it's okay, man. He ain't got a –
3:37Shannon Sharpe:Well, right now they got a podcast. And you beat them up right now, you're going to get clicks and likes. You're going to get mentioned. Now, he said – the fact of the matter, he said multiple teams. Multiple teams mean more than one. Back then, it's kind of like in the NFL. Guys couldn't move like they can now, Ocho. Guys couldn't move like they move in basketball. So I guess Shaq couldn't be considered a great player. KD can't be considered a great player. LeBron, Charles Barkley, Carl Malone, Moses Malone, Akeem Olajuwon, Patrick Litt. Come on, what are we doing, man? What are we doing? I don't care if he went to 20 teams.
4:14Shannon Sharpe:How good was he on those teams? Every team he played for, they won a championship. Every team that he played for, he was an all-NBA selection. How many guys can say, you know what, I've been on four different teams, and I've been an all-NBA selection on all of them? Probably no. Every team that I've played for, I've gone to an NBA Finals. Three of those are four teams that I've been on. I've won an NBA Finals. I've won a Finals MVP. Yeah, it would be great. People always talk about players not being lower. But hold on. And you said something very interesting. And I love B. Scott. And B. Scott know this because I used to work.
4:50Shannon Sharpe:We used to work out in the same gym when I was in L.A. And I see him. And we always mess up. We end up talking for an hour and mess up our workout because we talking basketball. We talking football. But the fact of the matter is Milwaukee traded, Kareem. Where was the loyalty? Where was the loyalty? The Lakers traded Shaq. Where was the loyalty? Orlando, trade the shack. Where was the loyalty? We expect loyalty from the players, but we don't demand loyalty from the organization. The organization says we're doing what's in the best interest of the organization. A player does what's in the best interest.
5:28Shannon Sharpe:Oh, he's running from time. He's running. He's chasing rings. What are the teams chasing?
5:35Shannon Sharpe:Why did Miami trade for Giannis? You don't think they're chasing rings? Yeah, yeah. Why did 76ers trade for Jalen Brown? You don't think they're chasing rings? what are we doing here? If you're in a sport, aren't you trying to win said championship of your sport? I would like to think so. Now, maybe everybody's not under that same. Everybody ain't trying to win. Everybody just – because you're going to make X amount of dollars whether you win or lose. Okay, I get all that. But I just don't get this. So now the man can't be – It would be great if guys could have stayed like the old Celtics. You know, for the most part, those guys stayed there.
6:18Shannon Sharpe:And Elgin Baylor stayed there. And Jerry West stayed there. But it's not like that anymore. Guys, y 'all know that. B. Scott, you know in today's game, football ain't the same. Guys move. Baseball ain't the same. Baseball always would trade their guys. That mean, hell, they traded Babe Ruth, so ain't nothing. And, you know, Frank Robinson, Frank Robinson got traded. Hell, he was an MVP in the league in trading, went and got another MVP. He and Shohei, the only two ever did that. But I just don't get this. I just don't get it. I don't get it. Ocho, chime in, Ocho. What do you think?
6:47Joe Johnson:I mean, listen, they're always going to find something wrong because of the person it is. We've never seen anything happen like this before. We've never seen anything done like this before. Because he's a king, because he sits atop that mountain, everyone's going to take shots at him. The fact that he's still doing it today at 42 years old, going into his 24th season, I just don't understand. Obviously, I don't know the ins and outs of basketball and have a great knowledge of it the way you two do, but I do understand how great LeBron is. And because he's been great for so long and been consistent at what he does for so long, they're going to find every little way to nitpick at the way he's won.
7:26Shannon Sharpe:Man. Can I ask you a question, guys? Let's just say for the sake of argument, Kobe had to win to the, when Kobe asked for a trade, he goes to Chicago and win a championship. And then all of a sudden, after several years, he goes to another team and wins another championship. As he looked, how is he viewed? He's still going to be great. Yeah.
7:56Shannon Sharpe:I've never seen anything like this. man if the man got into a scandal they want LeBron to be into a scandal so bad that's what it is they want because he you can't be this perfect ain't no way you ain't got no speeding ticket ain't nobody ever seen you in no salacious details we ain't seen nothing you too perfect and we don't like it they gotta find a way to knock you down got to everybody is waiting I shouldn't say everybody, but a lot of people are waiting. I told you. I knew it. Hey, but this good, though.
8:30Chad Johnson:It's good. It's good for LeBron. You know, all he needs is a little something to get him going, Uncle Ocho. You know.
8:39Shannon Sharpe:Some people, some people got, hey, some people, my mom worked at a job. She worked at Nabisco for 34 years. My stepdad worked there for 36 years. How many people work at the same job ever? How many times you think people change jobs in their life? He didn't change jobs. He just changed teams.
9:03Shannon Sharpe:I wonder how we look at it. Y 'all sound ridiculous. He's supposed to do what y 'all want him to do. If Cleveland was a better city and they could have – look, I get it. I really do. If Cleveland had a general manager like a Bob Myers, if they had a guy like a Jerry West, if they had a general manager like a Jerry Krause that could draft, could bring talent in, could draft, and then could trade and get the right pieces, I don't think LeBron leads Cleveland. He knew he couldn't win there. And y 'all already said, this man would have had all those points and no rings. Y 'all would have killed him even more.
9:44Shannon Sharpe:Now he got ringed. Now he 4-6. He went to the finals 10 times. He went 10 times. All right. Michael's 6-0. Well, damn, he played 15 years. What happened the other nine years?
9:57Chad Johnson:Hey, if Brown didn't get out of Cleveland, Uncle Ocho, ain't no way in hell he beat that Celtics team. Not with KG, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen? Ray Allen. He had to get out of there, man.
10:10Shannon Sharpe:Yes. But hold on, Ocho, Joe. Did anybody beat up Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen for going to join Paul Pierce? They said they should have left earlier.
10:18Chad Johnson:Hell.
10:24Yeah.
10:28Shannon Sharpe:A lot of people that beat him up. Even my guy Chuck. Chuck, why did Chuck leave Philly? Because he said he couldn't win a championship in Philly, so he went and joined. And he tried to make it seem like Marlon and wasn't good. Dan Marlon was a damn good defender. Was it all in B? Kevin Johnson. Hey, as a matter of fact, Didn't Kevin Johnson have the NBA Finals? He almost had them in the NBA Finals. Houston beat them. Yeah. They were a good team. Tom Chambers was a damn good player. Let's not make it seem like that.
11:07Shannon Sharpe:Got Scottie Pippen talking about he better than LeBron James because he got six rings.
11:17Shannon Sharpe:but you was never the best player Scotty you messed up you had an opportunity to do something special but when you didn't take your ass back in that game and Tony Kukul hit that shot and won the ball game ain't nobody looked at you the same since
11:32Shannon Sharpe:everybody saw on national TV you actually quit on your team you're a phenomenal player you're a top 75 you're a top 50 player. You're not better than LeBron. You won't find one general manager. You won't find other than you and maybe Dennis Rodman that will say you're better than LeBron James. The only two players that will say you are better than LeBron James are yourself and Dennis Rodman. Ask the other 50, the all 50 NBA players, if they think you better than LeBron at what defense, you're not a better scorer. You're not a better rebounder. You're not a better facilitator. You don't shoot the ball better than he did.
12:14Shannon Sharpe:You couldn't drive the ball better than he could. So I'm trying to figure out, other than play defense, what could you do better?
12:23Shannon Sharpe:Y 'all got to stop this, man. Come on now. The man ain't perfect. The man is not perfect. And I'm not finna sit here and tell nobody LeBron James is perfect. He's not. He's made some missteps. But this is getting outrageous here. this man say would ask who's great i have six rings do you want individual accolades or championships i want them both damn when people ask me joe people ask me all the time would you rather win the super bowl or the hall of fame i said i'm glad i ain't got to make that choice
12:55Shannon Sharpe:hell i take my jacket off and throw the rings on top of it but they got to stop this man but see that ring culture again he got six rings and lebron has He actually thinks he's better. So under that scenario, the greatest basketball player of all time is who, Ocho? Bill Russell. He has 11. How many times have you ever heard somebody say, Bill Russell is the greatest basketball player ever, Joe? You ain't really heard it. He got 11 rings. He has, I mean, I think Sam Jones, I think Sam has 10. Havlicek has eight. Havlicek is 8-0. Nobody ain't said Havlicek the best player. They don't even mention Havlicek.
13:41Shannon Sharpe:When they mention small forwards, don't nobody mention John Havlicek duty. They talk about Larry Bird. They talk about Kevin Durant. They talk about LeBron James, Dominique Wilkins, Elgin Baylor. They talk about... When's the last time you heard somebody mention John Havlicek? He 8-0.
13:55Joe Johnson:Dang.
13:56Shannon Sharpe:And he got some finals MVPs on top. Yeah, Ocho, yeah, yeah!
14:04Shannon Sharpe:They need to stop, man. It ain't going to stop though.
14:06Chad Johnson:It's going to continue. As long as he's playing, he's going to always catch criticism regardless.
14:13Shannon Sharpe:But who is he hurting though? Damn.
14:18Joe Johnson:Uh-oh. They dial up. Hey, why don't, until he get right, why don't they mention those other, why don't they mention the best ever with those that won the most rings since they always want to use rings as their reasoning? Why don't they mention Bill Russell?

14:34Chad Johnson:Because MJ came in and made the game sexy, Ocho. You know, he ain't got the most championships. Oh,
14:45Chad Johnson:yeah, he ain't got the most championships.
14:51Joe Johnson:Yeah. But when you're talking about, like, defying gravity
14:55Chad Johnson:and changing the way that we view NBA basketball.
14:59Joe Johnson:Yes, sir.
15:00Chad Johnson:Jordan led that charge, bro. Dr. J was before him, and then Jordan came. yeah he changed it he changed it and the game has been it's been in great hands ever since bro he took it to a whole nother level
15:14Shannon Sharpe:but even when even when Michael Jordan had no rings and Magic and Bird had all the rings they said he was the goat so they were saying that and he had no rings
15:31Shannon Sharpe:Magic had five before he won any Bird had three before he won any. And they said Michael was a better player.
15:41Shannon Sharpe:All those Celtics had 11, 10, 9, Sam Jones, Casey Jones, Tom Heinsohn, Mr. Russell, John Havlicek, all those guys. Bob Cousy. Bob Cousy got like 7-8 range.
15:56Chad Johnson:Now, Celtics rich in history when it comes to winning, Ocho.
15:59Joe Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
16:01Shannon Sharpe:They used to never lose no damn championship. how you think as a matter of fact they won like 8 championships in a row
16:14Shannon Sharpe:lost to the St. Louis Hawks and then wiped the table with everybody else from then on
16:18Chad Johnson:we ain't gonna see that ever again no teams running the table like that
16:24Shannon Sharpe:8 straight Joe you might not even see a repeat yeah you right Think about it. It's been a decade since you saw a repeat with the Warriors. It's been a decade.
16:40Joe Johnson:Before the Warriors, it was the Lakers, huh?
16:43Shannon Sharpe:Yes. No, the Heat. Oh, that's right. 2012.
16:48Joe Johnson:2012-13.
16:50Shannon Sharpe:Then the Lakers 9-10, and then the Lakers 3-peated. And then the Bulls 3-peated. And then the Bulls 3-peated. And then between the 3-peat was the Rockets 2-peat. Back-to-back.
17:03Shannon Sharpe:but I don't get this
17:10Shannon Sharpe:Zion oh Joe Dumars told Zion Williamson to be great at basketball you have to be obsessed with it per walk where have they heard that word obsessed and about to be great at something isn't that what we talk about all the time yeah it's the only way
17:28Joe Johnson:to be great at something
17:29Shannon Sharpe:But why wouldn't they give us credit when we say, how many times we done said this, Ochoa? Yeah, over and over. You got to be obsessed with it. But, okay, you can't casually become great in the league. What I've seen from him this summer is he's obsessed with the work he's putting in, and this is really encouraging for me that he's putting in this type of work.
17:52Chad Johnson:That's all we've been saying.
17:55Shannon Sharpe:Hey.
17:57Joe Johnson:Hey, I got a question for you. and Joe what's that this work he putting in is this a contract year
18:07Chad Johnson:I don't is it really all
18:11Shannon Sharpe:he's up Ash I think he's eligible to sign an extension this summer oh yeah
18:16Chad Johnson:you mean next summer
18:20Shannon Sharpe:he's trying to get that
18:22Chad Johnson:three hon done
18:25Shannon Sharpe:all the NBA will do it for you
18:28Joe Johnson:you see what I mean you see what it'll take to get you to be obsessed or it's time to get paid okay now I'm gonna lock in
18:36Shannon Sharpe:a commitment a singular focus
18:39Chad Johnson:but if you do get that prize you still gotta stay locked in you can't exhale that's all we've been talking about with Zion if he put the work in when that man plays Ocho he gonna give you at least 26
18:54Joe Johnson:yeah every time
18:56Chad Johnson:and that's a guy who ain't even really in tip-top shape. Now, from that picture that we seen a couple weeks ago, man, if that man look anything like that coming into the season, he's able to sustain that. This episode sponsored by Jace Medical. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people, and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here.
20:25I can wait four hours for the next bus, or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is, and not the lies you're sold about it. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Nick Turturro. You probably know me from NYPD Blue, The Longest Yard, or Spike Lee's Black Klansman. But I'm also from Queens, which means I know pizza. And on my new podcast, Delivering Happiness with Nick DeToro, I deliver pizza from Prince Street Pizza to a new guest.
21:07You deliver pizza now? Then we sit down for a real conversation. I've shared a slice with everyone, from Seth Rollins. What are you doing with my belt? To Alex Rodriguez. Just to let you people know, we're talking to one of the goats here. To Bill Burr. I don't think I've ever met somebody so exactly out of their mind as I am. And now we even have more great guests coming up, including the great John Turturro.
21:29Joe Johnson:It's called happiness. Delivering happiness. Mariano Rivera. Oh, my God. And many, many more. Open your free iHeartRadio app, search Delivering Happiness with Nick Turturro, and listen now. I'm Nancy Glass, host of the Burden of Guilt Season 3 podcast. This is a story about a horrendous situation that destroyed two families. It started more than seven years ago when Cindy and Kenny were two 40-somethings who had just gotten engaged. Days later, they walked into a scorched-earth war they never saw coming. Turn around and place your hands behind your back. The cops gave it to my house and threw me in jail.
22:07And to Cindy's surprise, her fiancé Kenny was charged with abusing one of her children. I never once doubted Kenny, and I always doubted the accusation. On Season 3 of Burden of Guilt, you'll hear a story about the lengths someone will go to in order to get what they want. This case has got to be one of the most despicable. Listen to Season 3 of Burden of Guilt on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam? I'm sports journalist Ari Chambers. Hey, what's up, y 'all? It's your girl, Sam J. And we're the hosts of Everyone Watches Women's Sports, a new podcast from Together and I Heart Women's Sports.
22:51Because let's be real, women's sports is giving us way too much to talk about these days. So Kelsey Finler, she became the first female solo rower to go from California to Hawaii. My first thought is just like, what's up with the snacks? Like, what are we eating? The highlights, the rivalries, the breakout stars, the moments that take over your entire timeline. And the conversations that start during the game and somehow keep going all week. Every week, we're breaking down the biggest stories across women's sports. Naomi Osaka showing out. She beat Sabalenka. Shout out to you, Naomi. You get the palm, Naomi.
23:24You get the palm for that. Because we're not just interested in what happened. We're interested in why everyone's talking about it. Because everyone watches women's sports. Listen to everyone watches women's sports. on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
23:42Chad Johnson:He's going to be unstoppable, bro. I'm telling you. Unstoppable.
23:48Shannon Sharpe:He's eligible. Oh, Joe, Joe, he was eligible this offseason. But there's been no movement.
23:53Chad Johnson:You wouldn't do it. Why would you?
23:54Shannon Sharpe:They say we see. They say holla at us next year, bro. Why would you?
23:57Chad Johnson:You ain't show me that you was worthy of that. So, okay, come on here and show me something this season. And boy, we're back to Brink's truck up.
24:07Joe Johnson:Now he got to prove himself.
24:09Shannon Sharpe:He going to do that, bro. And the little bit of greatness that I had, I know what I did. I can imagine what a Tiger Woods, a Michael Jordan, a Serena Williams, a LeBron James, a Tom Brady, a Peyton Manning. I can just imagine. I can just imagine. a Denzel Washington, a Tom Hanks, a Samuel L. Jackson, a Viola Davis, a Meryl Streep. I can just imagine. There's an obsession. You're obsessed with this. It's hard when you have, name something that you achieve that you want less of. When you treat great, it's like, nah, I don't have enough. I don't want that no more. I'm cool with that.
25:04Shannon Sharpe:And it's so monotonous. It's so boring to be great. Because guess what? I'm doing the same Joe Johnson taking his ass in the gym and shooting 1 ,000 damn shots every single day. And no matter how he does it, I don't care if he gets somebody throwing the ball. I don't care if he go chasing his damn self. He's still shooting 1 ,000 boring ass shots. And Serena hitting that ball forehand, backhand, forehand, backhand, slice, ad court, fork, all that.
25:37Chad Johnson:Hey. Until you develop a routine, bro. Yeah. I'm talking about to stick to it. I ain't talking about do it on the days that you feel like it. I'm talking about on them damn days you don't feel like it. That's when you get. Okay, Ocho, I've been telling my son, man, since he was eight, nine years old. hey, bro, you got to develop a routine. Got to have a routine. You got to have something that you do on a day-to-day basis regardless of how the hell you feel. You got to get it done, bro. And if that's that, getting up shots, working on your handle, you trying to become a better player because there's too many guys out here who hungry, bro.
26:13Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah.
26:15Shannon Sharpe:When you realize that you're not the only one that have this dream, that's what you got to realize. I don't care what your dream is. somebody else got that same dream man, Ocho, I could have been a little kid and dreamed like, man I want to fly the damn space shuttle there are five other people that got that same damn dream want to fly the space shuttle man, stop dreaming my dream, damn it you wouldn't even thinking about no space shuttle until I started dreaming about it basketball, baseball whatever the case may be CEO, entrepreneur
26:52uh oh
26:54Shannon Sharpe:somebody what are you doing because the only thing the only thing that come to sleep is a dream you got to get up and make it work
27:03Joe Johnson:and that's the problem that's the difference though not too many people willing to put in the work to make those dreams come true a very small percentage and that small percentage is known as the 1 %
27:16Chad Johnson:because everybody wants a dream but they don't want to put their heart they don't want to put their grind in
27:20Shannon Sharpe:absolutely not
27:22Chad Johnson:and if the Bible teaches go ahead Joe if you want if you want the game to come easy I don't care what sports you playing hey man your workout regimen it's got to be harder than damn games
27:37yeah
27:40Shannon Sharpe:Bible tell us you can't enter the kingdom of heaven unless you die everybody wants to go to heaven don't nobody want to die everybody want to be successful everybody want to be wealthy ain't nobody to try to do no damn work. That's why the lottery. What does the lottery require? Go in there, drop$2, drop$3, drop$5 down. Boom, that's it. What if I told you if you work really, really hard? What if I told you you work really, really hard? You could have$200 million. You could have$300 million.
28:19Shannon Sharpe:Man, I ain't really trying to work. Do you know how many times people have told me I ain't trying to work that hard? I ain't trying to eat like that?
28:26Joe Johnson:Yeah, okay.
28:31Shannon Sharpe:I mean, you see when I was talking with my teammates, TD said, man, I was looking around. I said, okay, that's what greatness looked like. Then I found out what to do. I ain't really trying to be that great.
28:46Shannon Sharpe:It ain't that complicated. They right. I have my stuff stacked. I had my little chicken breast. I had rice. I had green beans. I had broccoli. That's all I had. And I had water. That's it. Don't come over my house and think you're going to eat tater chips and cookies and oatmeal pies. You're not. You're not. You're getting water. Man, this food bland. Okay. It works for me. Man, I picture myself, man, this steak, this ribeye. Man, these Rios. That's what I pictured in my mind.
29:26Shannon Sharpe:I wasn't going back to Glenville. That was not an option for me.
29:34Shannon Sharpe:Zion, boy, you got so much ability. You got so much God-given ability. But I love what – you know what I love? I love when athletes that have won, that have accomplished, or have been great, transcendent, historically great. Joe Dumars is a Hall of Famer. Joe Dumars as a finals MVP, knows what it takes to get there. I think he went to Magnet State. I think that's where Joe went. I don't even know. It ain't that complicated.
30:08Shannon Sharpe:You go to – if you play a professional sports and you go to the restaurant, Ocho and Joe, there are two things on the menu, wins and losses.
30:21Shannon Sharpe:that's all I serve it at my restaurant that's all I serve hot L's or fresh dubs you get a hot L or you get a fresh dub that's all I got for you that's it Bill Simmons thinks Kevin Durant goes into the Hall of Fame he'll be wearing a Supersonics jersey and why do you think that I think he do the Supersonics that's the move Yeah. It's like he loves Seattle. I would have loved playing there. But the honor of the Sonics, I'm going to be a Sonic. What you thinking, Joe?
30:59Chad Johnson:Do you think. Because of all the success that OKC has has has had.
31:10Chad Johnson:Do you think this plays a role in that?
31:17Shannon Sharpe:probably I mean he did go to three championships with the Warriors he won two there he didn't have the level of success a team success he enjoyed success as an individual in Brooklyn didn't have this level of success individual success he went to the All-Star game all the NBA selection at the Suns and now he's in Houston. Yeah, I think OKC, I think OKC are the Superstars. I don't see him going in as a warrior.
31:52Chad Johnson:No. No. Yeah. Yeah, no, he ain't going to go in as a warrior. But I think, you know, him being the number two pick, the number two pick that year behind Greg Oden.
32:04Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
32:05Chad Johnson:And Seattle really giving him an opportunity and really, really, really trusting him with the franchise. I think he really, you know, he has a special place in his heart for him.
32:18Shannon Sharpe:I can see that, Joe. I can definitely see that.
32:23But damn.
32:25Chad Johnson:To go in, to go to.
32:26Shannon Sharpe:Dang. It ain't like they got a whole lot of superstars. I mean, you know, Hall of Famers.
32:32Chad Johnson:Outside of Gary Payton, Sean Kemp.
32:35Shannon Sharpe:GP. Yeah, GP. But GP went into Hall of Fame. He was a superstar. on it. But what you call him? Ray Manning going in the hall. Is Gus Williams? Is the Wizard in the hall? I don't know. Dennis Johnson? But most people probably remember DJ from the Celtics.
33:00Shannon Sharpe:Wally Walker, Jack Sigma, Marvin Webster. Downtown Freddie Brown.
33:05Chad Johnson:Are they supposed to be bringing the Seattle? They supposed to be bringing the team back to Seattle?
33:09Shannon Sharpe:Mm-hmm. Yes. Yep.
33:18All right.
33:19Shannon Sharpe:It's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q and A.
33:35Shannon Sharpe:Vet underscore Tran 97. Would you guys agree? Rams, D.C., Chris Shula has the best job right now.
33:42Joe Johnson:Absolutely. What? As a matter of fact, not only the best job, think about how easy his job's going to be based on the personnel that he has. Secondary on point. You got Trent McDuffie leading the way. Yeah.
33:57Shannon Sharpe:You got Jalen Watson. You got Watson over there. Remember, they got both of the corners from Kansas City.
34:05Joe Johnson:Man. You got Miles Garrett. You got Aaron Donald who's trying to get himself back in the playing shape. And the only way to do that is to play football. So, man, he, Mr. Shuler is like a kid in the candy store.
34:20Chad Johnson:You hear me?
34:21Joe Johnson:All you got to do is just put your pieces in the right position.
34:26Shannon Sharpe:Texans ain't that bad job either.
34:29Joe Johnson:Oh, yeah.
34:33Shannon Sharpe:And what you call the Vic Fangio in Philly? You got a nice little setup also. how much input do y 'all think Brady will have with Mendoza's development
34:45Chad Johnson:I would think he would have you know quite a bit of say so Uncle Ocho considering the fact that hell he played come on man what are we talking about he played the position at the highest level so I'm sure it's something he can pass down to young fella man to help him you know with his early start so how can he not
35:08Joe Johnson:I know one thing. Tom having a voice that he has, his voice also with the experience that Tom had playing as long as he played and the success that he also had, he has to also remember that the situation Mendoza is in is a little different than when he got his opportunity to play.
35:29Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, he didn't have the expectations, but he still helped.
35:31Joe Johnson:too. And the supporting cast over there in Las Vegas is a little different than it was in New England. But again, that's why I'm glad he's going to have this season to sit out so they can continue to put those pieces around. I mean, those are offensively. It's going to be tough, man. It's going to be tough.
35:52Shannon Sharpe:And he didn't have a first-year head coach. Go ahead, Joe. I ain't saying nothing going on. I was going to say, Coach Belichick had been a coach before.
36:01Joe Johnson:for a long time.
36:02Shannon Sharpe:This is not his first rodeo. Yeah. I think the difference is is that when you're the first overall pick, there's a different level of expectation than when you're the 192nd pick. No, he was 199. He was 199. 199. I was 192. 199. I think that's a little bit different, Ojo. And the expectation. Nobody expected Tom Brady to come in and do what he did. For him to do that is an unbelievable feat. That's what I'm saying. You look at a guy like a Peyton Manning to come in and be the first overall pick and to have the level of success that he had. Drew Brees was a second-round pick.
36:55Shannon Sharpe:Man, the higher you pick, the greater the expectations are. In any sport, football, basketball, soccer, draft, whatever the case may be, Ocho. You know that, Joe. The higher you're selected, the more is expected of you. Absolutely right. It's like in the family, what do they expect? They expect more of the firstborn than anything, though. They put all that on their shoulders. All that on their shoulders. Yeah. It's just the way it is.
37:29Shannon Sharpe:Young Don Corleone TV. I think Jerry knows he won't be able to play everybody. He talks about his mortality. He's hoping to get a chip within the next two to three years. All in. Might as well. He can't take it with him.
37:43Joe Johnson:That is true.
37:45Shannon Sharpe:At least be on that stage one more time and have Roger Goodell hand that joke.
37:51Chad Johnson:If he can't do nothing else, you know he want to do that. On his dime, his watch. and, hey, hey, the way he talking out there every damn game. He want to be the catalyst, too. Yeah, y 'all already know how Jerry get down, man. It's our plan.
38:06Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
38:11Shannon Sharpe:Oh, okay. Nightcap fam. Start, cut, bench. Sade edition. Is it a crime? Your love is king. No ordinary love. No ordinary love.

38:31Chad Johnson:No ordinary love.
38:33Shannon Sharpe:It dies, it jumps, it ripples. Like the deepest ocean. I can't give you more than that. Surely you want me back.
38:54Shannon Sharpe:Is it a crime? I'm starting. Damn. No ordinary love. I'm a bench. I'm a cut. Your love is key.

Your Duolingo is not going to come back to you when a man is inside of you. Oh no! I'm Julie Pinheiro, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle.
40:31It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
41:12Seth Rollins. What are you doing with my belt? To Alex Rodriguez. Just to let you people know, we're talking to one of the goats here. To Bill Burr. I don't think I've ever met somebody so exactly out of their mind as I am. And now, we even have more great guests coming up, including the great John Turturro. It's called happiness. Delivering happiness. Mariano Rivera. Oh my God. And many, many more. Open your free Hi-HeartRadio app, search Delivering Happiness with Nick Turturro, and listen now. I'm Nancy Glass, host of the Burden of Guilt Season 3 podcast. This is a story about a horrendous situation that destroyed two families.
41:51It started more than seven years ago when Cindy and Kenny were two 40-somethings who had just gotten engaged. Days later, they walked into a scorched-earth war they never saw coming.
42:03Joe Johnson:Turn around and place your hands behind your back. The cops gave it to my house and threw me in jail. And to Cindy's surprise, her fiance, Kenny, was charged with abusing one of her children. I never once doubted Kenny, and I always doubted the accusation. On Season 3 of Burden of Guilt, you'll hear a story about the lengths someone will go to in order to get what they want. This case has got to be one of the most despicable. Listen to season three of Burden of Guilt on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam? I'm sports journalist Ari Chambers. Hey, what's up, y 'all?
42:44It's your girl, Sam Jay. And we're the hosts of Everyone Watches Women's Sports, a new podcast from Together and iHeart Women's Sports. Because let's be real, women's sports is giving us way too much to talk about these days. So Kelsey Fendler, she became the first female solo rower to go from California to Hawaii. My first thought is like, what's up with the snacks? Like, what are we eating? The highlights, the rivalries, the breakout stars, the moments that take over your entire timeline. And the conversations that start during the game and somehow keep going all week. Every week, we're breaking down the biggest stories across women's sports.
43:18Naomi Osaka showing out. She beat Sabalenka. Shout out to you, Naomi. You get the palm, Naomi. You get the calm for that. Because we're not just interested in what happened. We're interested in why everyone's talking about it. Because everyone watches women's sports. 43:48Joe Johnson:I'm benching. What was the one you started, Unc?
43:52Shannon Sharpe:I started Is It a Crime.
43:56Joe Johnson:I'm starting. I'm benching Is It A Crime?
44:00Shannon Sharpe:And then, you know. And you're cutting No Ordinary Love. He's starting that. Okay, you're benching your love is king. No, I'm benching. I mean, you're cutting your love is king. So you're starting No Ordinary Love, you're benching Is It A Crime, you're cutting your love is king.
44:19Chad Johnson:Joe, what you got? No Ordinary Love, and then I'm benching your love is king. You cutting it into the crime? I'm cutting it. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I gotta cut it. You need to cut it.
44:37Shannon Sharpe:It dies and jumps like the deepest ocean. I can't give you more than that. Surely you want me back.
44:51Shannon Sharpe:Man, you pulled her hair back there in that ponytail.
45:00Shannon Sharpe:Now, if you put Jezebel up there, I'd be.
45:10Shannon Sharpe:Jezebel wasn't born. Gold standard 842. Michael Jordan is the GOAT. Come on, man.
45:22Joe Johnson:Is that a question or is that a fact? I think that's a statement.
45:30Joe Johnson:It's going to be a never-ending argument for years to come. Never.
45:37Shannon Sharpe:Antoine Jackson, 22-37. Uncle, the real boxing match. Who you putting your money on? Ocho or King Isil? Keep it real. Love the show.
45:46Joe Johnson:Hey, only one of us got experience in a real fight.
45:49Chad Johnson:Oh, man, nobody tried to hear that. Oh, come on. Be a smart man, man.
45:54Joe Johnson:Be a smart man.
45:56Chad Johnson:Be a smart man. Hey, Ocho, Joe said he got the skill.
46:02Shannon Sharpe:Hey, you said that reach.
46:03Chad Johnson:He said he got that reach. I don't care about all that. Hey, don't bet against me, bro. Hey, Joe, I done bet in a real fight. So you going from parroting to phone booth, parrot, phone booth, ah. His ass out of there. Ain't going to be too much parroting and phone booth. His ass going to be out of there. He's going to parrot it. Damn, Joe.
46:21Joe Johnson:They canvass. Hey, listen. Whoever asked that question. Damn, Joe. Ocho. Whoever asked that question, they know who got the background of combat sports. There's only one person on the show crazy enough to get in the ring with every boxer, any boxer, and don't care who it is. Just because they ain't getting in the ring, what that mean? It mean I'm going to whoop your ass. That's what it mean.
46:41Chad Johnson:Okay. To hell? To hell you mean what it mean, boy?
46:44Joe Johnson:Okay. And you a regular civilian when it come to me in the ring, boy? Damn, Joe. Oh, Joe. Oh, Joe.
46:50Chad Johnson:First off, you don't know how I train. You don't know what I got going.
46:53Joe Johnson:Joe, I don't care nothing about that hot poker and all that stuff you be doing, man. You care nothing about that hot poker, boy? Hey. Joe. Uh-oh.
47:11Joe Johnson:I'm froze up again, that dial up.
47:14Chad Johnson:He laughed too damn hard.
47:33Joe Johnson:All right, Joe, it's just me and you. I hear you now, Ojo, you back. There you go, there you go, there you go.
47:38Chad Johnson:Well, yeah, it's going to be quick, fast, and in a hurry. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
47:42Joe Johnson:Don't even worry about it. Yeah, Joe, Joe, Joe, that's what she said, too.

49:16Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe. Boy, matter of fact, if you touch me, boy, you won't have no more hands. You hear me? All right. I could, hey, Joe, Joe going to be up. Joe going to come on the show with your straight limbs. Oh, Joe, you really? Oh, Joe. You ain't going to be able to shoot the ball no more, Joe.
49:32Chad Johnson:I'm really being cool with you, but you really can't see me for real, for real.
49:36Joe Johnson:No, no, no. All bullshit side, Joe. I know you 6 '8", 6 '9", whatever it may be, but if I was pissed off and got mad, and I call it, when I get mad, it's called controlled rage, I'd beat your ass.

49:57Joe Johnson:Joe, it's not happening.
49:58Chad Johnson:You probably one of them dudes, when you get mad, you start crying, tears start coming out your eyes. Man, that don't mean nothing.
50:04Joe Johnson:Nah.
50:05Chad Johnson:You were giving something to cry about Joe?
50:07Joe Johnson:Yeah. All right. Matter of fact, you know what? When I come to Atlanta, Wednesday, how about we fight before you train me for basketball?
50:14Chad Johnson:Man, say less.
50:15Joe Johnson:Say less. Boy, I couldn't wait. I couldn't wait for you. Matter of fact, hey, hey, hey. You was hoping he said that on Joe. I was hoping he'd say something like that. Hey, you know what he's going to do? He's going to do like he did last time I was in Atlanta. He ain't going to pick up the phone.
50:27Shannon Sharpe:Nah, Joe said he's going to come pick you up. He's going to say he's going to come pick you up, Beat your ass, they put you in the car, they drive you to go work out.
50:34Chad Johnson:Yeah.
50:39Shannon Sharpe:Shannon Pope, 51-25, RIP Don Nelson. ISO, what do you remember playing against them Don Nelson coach teams?
50:46Chad Johnson:Ooh, boy, Don Nelson used to have some whip. I'm talking about he had a bunch of guys. He probably was the first one, Anka Ojo, to really come out with that small ball. He was playing guys who wasn't power forwards and centers. Hell, they were small forwards. You know, you got guys like Steven Jackson. You know what I mean? Like, he was playing them dudes at the 4 and 5 at that time.
51:09Shannon Sharpe:Byron Davis.
51:10Chad Johnson:Yeah, playing that small ball, creating mismatches throughout the whole entire game. Hell, a whole entire series. Now, Don Nelson was the truth, bro. He was the truth.
51:20Shannon Sharpe:Man, I was watching the highlights of BD. Boy, BD. Hey, Baron Davis.
51:24Chad Johnson:Hey, hold on, hold on. Hey, BD was nice, boy. Hey, man, I'm telling y 'all, listen. In the early 2000s, bro, I used to spend a lot of time in L.A. because my boy, Genero Pargo, who's the assistant coach for the Pacers, he used to play for the Lakers. This one, Kobe and Shaq was on the Lakers. This one, they was like that. Yeah. Hey, man. Hey. Different. Different.
51:50Shannon Sharpe:He used to play like that. King Payne 21 if the Cowboys don't pay don't pay it's okay Pickens to be the Ravens. Love Zay but a wide receiver like Pickens would be exciting with Lamar and Henry Bengals finished third in the division.
52:05Chad Johnson:Yeah they just paid Zay. Hey.
52:09Joe Johnson:I told you I told you no I ain't gonna say it I'm just I'm gonna let them What you gonna say man? None. None. None. None.
52:17Chad Johnson:You gonna say a damn line.
52:19Joe Johnson:Nah, nah. Hey, we them boys. That's what I was finna say.
52:24Shannon Sharpe:Monty 8803, can I get a birthday shout out? I'll be 38 on 8-11. Absolutely. Happy early birthday. The date 11th, ain't it? The date 11th. It's already 11th, bro. Happy birthday. 38. Got two more years. You about to hit the big 4-0, bro. But congratulations on seeing another year around the sun. Another day. Happy 8. Got a lot to be thankful for. A lot to be thankful for. Do you ever find it interesting that Lamar and Jalen always face the most criticism? They can walk on water. People say they didn't run. Yeah, they do. I mean, especially for a guy that's won a Super Bowl. I can see, you know, okay, I can see like, okay, Lamar has two MVPs, went to the AFC Championship, didn't get it done.
53:14Shannon Sharpe:But Jalen Hurts got a Super Bowl, Ocho. He got a Super Bowl MVP. He's been there too. You could make a cage that he outplayed Mahone boy in both of them.
53:26Shannon Sharpe:I don't know. Look.
53:31Shannon Sharpe:But I tell you what. Lamar Jackson went to Super Bowl. If I'm Lamar, I ain't talking to the media for a whole year.
53:38Chad Johnson:No, I don't act like that.
53:40Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I do. Y 'all force me to. Get your money, man. Get your money. That's it? Yeah. Man, don't believe in second chances. You messed me up one time he threw. No, no, no, no, no. I believe in second chances. It's the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh chances that I'm done with. It all depends on what you do to me.
54:12Shannon Sharpe:that's Ocho don't believe in no second chances Ocho the world is talking about man hey that's just one less expense I'm like well damn Ocho
54:19Joe Johnson:hey listen once it happen one time it's gonna happen again
54:24Shannon Sharpe:nah Ocho that ain't necessarily true it's true trust me it's true man it's bad man it's bad here Moe No Sports Laugh my ass off Ash doesn't book Unc at the rearview fin Close

55:31Shannon Sharpe:Man, we didn't get an old school, Joe. We didn't get some old school. What's up, lad?
55:33Chad Johnson:Man, I said this now. I think it was sometime last year, but y 'all weren't rolling with it. Oh, Joe, let's get us an old school. What y 'all going in?
55:42Joe Johnson:I'm thinking about, listen, I want me another donk, man, now that you mentioned it. What you want, huh?
