In short

Nightcap Hour 3 is a sports talk-and-Q&A episode mixing NBA roster/conditioning debates, NFL hot-seat and game recaps, plus lighter celebrity/music/ranking segments. It covers Dylan Harper’s stance on coming off the bench, Zion Williamson’s reported conditioning improvements, Jimmy Butler’s refusal to change his post-ACL style, and broader NBA roster-construction/ego claims. It also discusses NFL coaching pressure (Eagles), a Bears vs. Eagles 27-7 recap, and Giants/Saquon contract debate.

Guests (on-air participants)

Dylan Harper (GQ interview subject; NBA player prospect/rookie-level discussion), Joe Dumars (NBA Hall of Famer; Pelicans basketball operations chief, quoted via discussion), Jimmy Butler (NBA player, quoted), plus the show’s hosts/co-hosts: Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and “Iso Joe” Johnson (Big Three).

Key claims

Harper says “F*CK NO” to coming off the bench, then backtracks; Dumars attributes Zion’s “impeccable” shape to conditioning and mental carry; Butler says he won’t alter his post-ACL playing style; Spurs won’t collapse like the 2012 Thunder due to less ego; NBA teams can’t keep too many max-contract players.

Notable examples

Zion reportedly ~7 pounds lighter; Knicks “had no answer” for Harper in finals; Miami’s mandatory weight/conditioning is contrasted with other teams; Bears throttled Eagles (Case Keenum 24/34, 247, 2 TDs; Eagles 10 penalties, 3 turnovers).

2:00I know you bombed my car. I'm nowhere near being done with you. Little lies cause bigger consequences. This just took an interesting turn. Tyler Perry's Sisters. Returns October 7th at 9, 8 Central. Only on BET. Dylan Harper spoke to GQ on if he actually thinks he's going to come off the bench. what's the political answer here? I'm going to do whatever the team needs me to do, man. If that's come off the bench, that's crazy. F no, I ain't coming off no bench. Later in the conversation, Harper walked the six-man thing back. I was lying. What do you think, Joe? Yeah, I think he's still going to be coming off the bench, Uncle Joe.

2:40And I ain't listening, huh? Hey, Uncle Joe, if he don't come on the bench, who finna sit down for him? And that mean no disrespect, huh? I know how well he played when he came off the bench last year, especially in the postseason. Hell, even in the regular season. But who the hell finishes down, Joe? Well, listen, you got Champagne and Vassell in that lineup. I like both of them because they play great off of Wimby as far as catch and shoot. And defensively, those two guys, they work horses. They're going to work hard. You know what I mean? So it's kind of hard. But at the same time, the young man showed in the finals that he was ready for the moment, bro.

3:17You could see how he was moving. The Knicks had no answer for him. Nope. And I think if you said Antonio, it was a couple of those games, hell, had you played him down the stretch, you don't know how they would have won. Maybe you would have won a couple of them there. You know what I mean? Well, hopefully Fox is healthy now. And we don't get to use that excuse to talk about, well, you know, he wasn't supposed to be playing. He made some mistakes that they had nothing to do with help. Absolutely right. Excuse me, help. Nothing to do with help. It had everything to do with this. You're absolutely right.

3:47Just a couple bonehead mistakes that you typically don't see from a guy of his caliber, bro. You're right. You're right, y 'all. Oh, yeah. Stephen Castle and Dylan Harper don't believe the Spurs will collapse like the 2012 Thunder because they don't have egos. They had strong-ass egos in that locker room. That's why they were so good. We've got eight people on the team that if we all had an ego, we wouldn't blend together. Well, listen, y 'all ain't got to have no damn ego, but the way this money got to get split up, somebody ain't going to make it. They're going to break it up. Yeah, they're going to break it up.

4:21Even if y 'all don't, they will. Yeah, they're going to break it up because, look, the thing about the NBA is, like, if you really got something working for you and you got a team that's pretty good, these other teams come get your role guys or guys that you really value or they know that's a valuable piece of your team and they know you can't keep them, hell, they come pay them good money, man. San Antonio ain't going to be able to keep all them boys, man. They better understand the moment that they're in right now, which is win time, and try to take advantage of the window that they do have because you don't have an opportunity where you have all this talent on one team like they got, bro.

4:54They got a special unit. They do. But if Fox is on a max contract, Wimby's on a max contract, Castle, you got to do something with him, and you got Dylan Harper coming. Yeah. You're not going to have no four guys on max contract. Three is the max you can have. Right. Yeah. And them guys are all going to get max money. Hey, hey. When it's time to come to the drawing board, Uncle Ocho, I don't want to have to say nothing. Just give me the blank check, homie. Let me, you know what I mean? Right. Bing, bing. Yeah.

5:27Pelican star Zion Williamson is reportedly in impeccable condition and now in seven pounds lighter compared to last season. NBA Hall of Famer and Pelican's basketball operations chief, Joe Dumars, maybe had something to do with that. Let's take a listen to Zion. We talked just about a couple things. One was to be a great player in this league, you have to be in impeccable condition. You just can't play 82 games and not be in great shape. And so we talked about him being in impeccable condition, and he's done that. So kudos to Zion. He's gotten himself in great shape. The second thing you have to do is, and I've said this to Zion, it's like, look, you have to think like a great player.

6:13You have to think like you have to carry yourself the right way. You can't just be in great shape and then still do things that that don't match with being a great player. So mentally, everything you do, you have to carry yourself the right way. And so I've talked to him about his conditioning and just about the way he carries himself. And so Zion put his head down this summer, man. He worked. He stayed off the radars. He was he was impressive this summer. He really was. Joe? Do you like what Jody said? I love what Jody said. Ocho, in the NBA, everybody has to be in some sort of a shape, right?

6:56You have to be in some sort of shape, pretty good damn shape, because all we do is sprints. It's real quick bursts. You know what I mean? Straight up and down, change the direction. But when you that boy, when you Hemity, you have to be in elite shape. I mean, because guess what? You got to take on double teams. You got to take on game schemes, defensive schemes that's designed to stop you. So you're going to have to work a whole hell of a lot harder than the rest of these guys on your team. You know what I mean? Right. And I think what Joe Dumas is trying to get through to Zion is, man, you're such a special player, bro.

7:33But if you really take your conditioning serious, take being an elite athlete serious, obviously this thing will shoot through the roof for you, bro. You know what I mean? And that's what you need. I think these young guys, because they've received so much so early, Uncle Ocho, it's hard to keep them focused, bro, because guess what? At the touch of a button, I got everything accessible to me. You feel what I'm saying? Everything.

8:01Trying times, bro. I'm glad Joe D. I mean, he gets to hear from a player that won a finals MVP. that won two finals, that is in the Hall of Fame, was a top player, and you get somebody, you know, I ain't got, look, bro, I just want the best for you. I know Zion won't that second max contract. Hello. And the only way he's going, and again, and everybody, I know we have this conversation every year, Zion look good, Zion look good. Coming into camp is easy. It's maintaining that level of conditioning throughout 82 ballgame because it's not – you're playing late at night. Joe, you're on the road. You know this better than Ocho and I.

8:46At least we got done at a decent time. We could go get us a good solid meal, especially if we're playing at home. You cannot do it. You're not doing that. You got 42 games on the road. Pizza, fried chicken, potato chips, knickknacks. That's – how do you – do you say no? and have your people prepare you something that you're going to eat chicken, rice, lean cuts of protein, broccoli, you know, broccolini, cauliflower, things of that nature. Are you going to do that? Or do you succumb to, man, hell, everybody else eating pizza, let me grab me a couple of spices. Everybody else eating fried chicken, let me grab me a couple of pizzas.

9:31That's how it go, man. That's how it go. Because, see, look, in the NFL, y 'all probably got days where y 'all have to lift. Y 'all have to report, lift weights. Hell yeah. You know, get you. You don't have to do that in the NBA. Only people who got that is the Miami Heat and Pat Riley. The rest of the NBA don't have that, Ocho. Are you serious, Joe? Yeah, they don't have that, bro. It ain't to where, like, it's set in stone, like, in Miami, to where, bro, no ifs, ands, or buts, or battles. Your ass needs to be at these weight and conditioning sessions. You know what I'm saying? No other teams have that to where it's mandatory.

10:06No other teams have it to where they check weight and body fat like that. Not from what I've seen from what I play. You know what I mean? So it's a huge difference, bro. Yeah. Huge difference. Me, I was when I brought my own food and, hey, I liked it. Because I knew, like I said, coming to camp is easy. Because all you're doing is running, Ocho. You can get the food. You can, hey, I'm going to eat rice. I'm going to eat all this. I'm going to eat all this, this, this, and this. Now you get into the rigors, and it's easy to slip up if you don't have it prepared. You're like, man, I ain't got time to do this.

10:42Let me just go grab me something right now that's quick and accessible. Yeah, and that's almost every game in the league. Think about it. Game's over at 11, 12 o 'clock, and we got to get on the plane, fly to the next city. You're going to eat what's in front of you. It ain't many guys who are going to be bringing their food to the game every game. That's 82 games. Hey, bro, that's a lot. There ain't many guys who gonna be doing that, Uncle Ojo. And then the lifting and the conditioning. Because I lift four days a week, Joe. And I did cardio. I did cardio five days a week. So even before I even got to the facility, I done done 45 to an hour on the bike.

11:23Damn. Hey, I love to hear that. I'm telling y 'all, bro, if I ever was to come across to where I was the president or owner of any team. Yeah, yeah. Boy, we putting that in. You're going to be – your ass is going to be in some shape on my team. I promise you.

11:41Straight up. Straight up. Yeah, I mean, that's just the thing. And I wish Jai the best. I just hope he can stay healthy and maximize that God-given ability that he got. He can stay healthy because the sky is the limit for this young man. If he keep his body weight down, okay, Ocho, I promise you. Even where he at right now, can't nobody guard that man, bro. I ain't seen nobody be able to stay in front of him, his size or bigger, because he's too quick and too fast and too agile for his size. I'm like, damn, he's special, bro. Matter of fact, you know what? I think his success and contingent on, if I'm not mistaken, correct me if I'm wrong, Uncle Joe, after this season, is he eligible for that Supermax?

12:27He might be. He might. hey watch you have a it for some reason when it comes to players where they back it's against the wall and they got to have it they got that that what I like to call that got to have it here yeah because I got a contract I got money sitting right in front of me I can see I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and for some reason everything seems to go right that contract year for most players huh and they rise to the cage and then play like no other well hey hey i've been there oh joe oh you know what i'm talking about anjo i probably had my best year i'm talking about my best year here on the nba honestly i'm talking about from a statistical standpoint yes i probably didn't average the most points but it was my percentages when i was in phoenix it was high like oh my god i hell i ain't never shot like that again hey hey but i was playing with some hell of a players, bro.

13:24We talking about MVPs and perennial all-stars. The game was easy. Ocho, it was easy back then, bro. Hey, you see how easy it was for you in Phoenix? Yeah. Now this goes back to my conversation with J.J. McCarthy with the quarterback of them goddamn Vikings. You see what I mean? You see what I mean? It shouldn't be no excuses. That's what I mean, Joe. Okay. Yeah.

13:52But no, it's a lot that goes into. And people just think it's on the field. Most of the stuff that you do in terms of greatness happens off the field. You get to display that greatness that you've accumulated in the training room, in the practice facility, in the meeting rooms. You get to display it. But if you think the game is really played on Sunday, is the work you put in throughout the course of the week, especially for us, Ocho, because we only play it once a week. Joe, y 'all got to do all that stuff. Y 'all got to do it basically three nights a week. Yeah, but think about it, though. Hell, we only practice two and a half, maybe three hours out the day, Ocho.

14:30You got the rest of the day to yourself. You ain't got no curfew. You ain't got none of that. I'm talking about on game days, away games, none of that. Bro, the discipline, the self-discipline that you have to bring night in and night out, like, it's asking a lot, bro. You know, you got to make a lot of sacrifices, you know, to be great. You do. You do. Greatness requires selfishness. Oh, man. And you got to be okay being monotonous. Because you're doing the same thing over and over. Ocho, you out there running routes. You're running through the ladder. You're getting around the cones. You're doing it every day.

15:12The cones don't move. They don't change colors. The ladder doesn't get any bigger. It doesn't get any smaller. It is what it is. Yeah. But look, when it gets boring, you got to still do it like you love it, bro. Like you love it. Because you do. Yeah. Yeah. Once you have success, it's just like once you have success doing something, I don't know. That's the drug for me. I don't know how you turn it off. I don't know how you stop it. It's hard, bro. and I think that's why it's so hard for great players to retire yep man what what about what about gonna be able to put this greatness towards now what can I be great at now yeah

Jimmy Butler says he plans to change nothing about his post-ACL injury thanks to one of our co-hosts. Take a listen to what Jimmy had to say. No. That's the way you play. I'm not altering nothing. I don't care what nobody say. it goes back to this turnover thing when I always tell Steph and Dre if I'm up there, throw the ball just because I really think I'm a wide receiver one of my favorite athletes of all time is Chad Ochocinco, so I really feel like I'm always open, and I tell him it's my job if you throw it to hit the rafters and I don't catch it, I promise you it's my fault, because I always tell him to throw it I'm still gonna run in there and run into people get fouled I'll shoot you know point five more threes but um I'm gonna get back to being exactly who I am that's what got me to this point I ain't changing I like that Jimmy I like that shout out Jimmy I'm glad I could be somewhat of an inspiration for you Jimmy after all these years I ain't even played the game in 2015 year Jimmy but But I'm still thought over your mind, you hear me?

20:15But that's appreciation, you hear me? Well, you get back healthy. If you need a nutritionist, holla at your boy. I need not to change. Man, y 'all see Jimmy earrings? I seen them, man. You know, hey, hey. You know, I missed it. You missed it? You didn't see the, you know the man can't see, Unc. You got this thing. Yeah, I forgot he only got one eye. Yeah, you got this thing. No, I wasn't, I was more so listening to what he was saying, but I didn't even see the earring. What was wrong with him? He got two, he had on two like dangled like crystals all like chandeliers yeah chandeliers like i had on my check check him out

20:54hey y 'all know every year okay ojo jimmy always come with something different you know yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah he he go he gonna switch it up now hey he gonna keep you off balance now He gonna keep you off balance, yeah.

21:16Now it's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q and A.

21:24Hey, boy, Joe, I had me a nap today. I did too, old Joe. Hey, Joe, I was feeling good at night, boy. Boy. Hey, hey, I didn't put it, not last, I think I forgot what night that was, but I was hurting, boy. I was fighting for my... Was it Thursday? Hey, Joe. Boy, when I tell y 'all I was fighting for my life.

21:46Oh, my God. Hey, every so often I had one of them nights where I'd be fighting. Oh, man.

21:57CJ has no top 15 guy on offense. No run game. Defenders in the backfield every snap. Top three receivers always out. Skill guys are Joe's. No separation. drops new coordinator. CJ led the two-minute scoring drive, and the defense folded. Coach burned 30 seconds before timeout caused the game.

22:20Well, it says, what does it say? Excuses like assholes. Everybody got one, huh? Yeah, amen. We got to deal with what we got to deal with. We got to, hey, this is what he has to play with bro yes yes hey it's just unfortunate this is a pivotal time for him okay ocho because you know that boy he he want that money on he he want to reset the market it's still early but boy he gonna have to get to work quick it is one thing about it it ain't getting no easy over there either it doesn't get Because Nico Collins isn't coming back. It ain't getting no easier, boy. What you mean? He done? No, I'm not saying he's done, but he's not coming back in the next two to three weeks.

23:10No, no. That hamstring, Joe, that hamstring ain't nothing to play with, boy. And he don't want it to be lingering, be in and out of the lineup, you know, instead of going and missing three, four weeks, you try to come back and now you basically end up missing ten weeks. Well, what if he come back and they already 0-6? They ain't won a game. it's going to get real tough it's going to get real tough hey Joe them boys start 0-6 there's going to be some changes coming in there absolutely 0-6 man stop playing with the expectations you made the playoff last year and obviously you want to build on that even with the way you exited the playoff last year and you come out and you come out the gate like this man shh Well, it's going to be some goddamn furniture moving, right?

24:00Hey, guys, this question is for ISO. What was your reaction to making Paul Pierce crawl around the floor like he was looking for his contacts? Honestly, it was such a back-and-forth game, and for the people who don't know, Chad, every time I used to play against Boston because I was Paul Pierce's rookie, he would talk the entire game. I probably wouldn't say nothing to him. You know what I'm saying? but my demeanor and my energy he could feel because I'm going right back at his ass. I ain't gotta say nothing to go at you, but you know what I'm saying? You gonna feel my energy. And that's kind of what it was, bro.

24:36We were going there the whole entire night. And then when I seen him fall, like I said before, I had to shoot it. I don't give a damn who else was guarding me. I had to shoot. I said, Ooh, I gotta make this here. I got to make this one. So, but yeah, that's always a great memory, bro. I get asked about that all the time. What order Brian McKnight, Anytime, Usher, Superstar, The Manhattans, kiss and say goodbye? Hold on. Let's just kiss and say. Who are you going with first? I had to meet you here today. 25:39Brian McKnight hard. I don't know why y 'all acting like Brian McKnight. They ain't like that. Hell no. I don't know why y 'all acting like Brian. Hey, listen, the Manhattans is first. You hear me? anything the Manhattans produce or saying is first. I respect Usher. Usher, you know what? There could be a topic with him being the king of R &B. I mean, there's a conversation. No, there can't be no topic. The king of R &B is currently incarcerated. Yeah, that too. But obviously, listen, that Usher, that Confessions album, iconic. Yeah. An iconic album. You know, Usher's discography, his body of work is unparalleled.

26:14You know, Brangman Knight is coming in third. You know, due to some other issues that's ongoing that have nothing to do with music. Man, please, man. Now, hey, hey, hey, look, look. Hey, look. Brian McKnight, one of my favorites, huh? When I get married, Brian McKnight coming to sing at my wedding. Is it really? Brian McKnight and Kiki Wyatt. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

26:48but that's a fucking ojo we know the top three receivers all time are but do we have four to 10 spots and do you see any wide receivers playing today that could crack the top 10 or even top five wait four through 10 yeah i mean you probably uh like lad fish jerald marvin harrison it's so many names you know yeah jerry marvin harrison reggie wayne Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Steve Smith Sr.

27:22Antonio Brown. Julio. Julio Jones. Wait, hold on. I'm trying to think. AJ Green. Let me keep going. I'm trying to think of some of the greats, especially through eras.

27:36But he's still playing right now, so I'm not going to go there. Yeah. I mean, they go 10 for you right there matter of fact that might be more than 10. for somebody the top five i mean you probably have to say chase maybe jsn now is currently playing that you see on on on that projection jello right yeah yeah but boy to crack that top three for somebody for me my top three is jerry to and randy for somebody to crack that top three as far as production as far as you You know, you look at catches, yard, touchdowns, big game.

28:18I mean, the thing with Jerry with all those stats, he's still the greatest big game receiver there ever was. Yeah. Look at his numbers in the Super Bowl. Look at his numbers in the playoffs. He showed up every game. You knew they were going to throw the damn ball to Jerry, and he still caught it. Yeah, bad boy, man.

28:44Man, he just is ridiculous. If the Eagles continue to class like this, should the coach be on the hot seat? Uh-oh. What? Uh-oh. A coach three years removed from a Super Bowl championship on the hot seat? Yeah. They two and one? They still think, huh? Uh-oh. Oh, it's possible. Hey, don't start an avalanche over there. Hey. Damn.

30:39Mad Eagles fans here extremely disappointed in our coaching. Terribly getting beat up by the Bears while kicking ourselves down with penalties. Bears put the game on display for the K. Flop, Eagles flop. Yeah, I mean, look, you had 10 penalties for 61 yards. You turned the ball over three times. two of nine on third down or two on fourth down. So you was two of 11 on third and fourth down. And defensively, you couldn't stop him. Couldn't stop. That boy Casey Keenan out there dealing. What it was, Unc, he was 100 % on the blitz when they sent the blitz. Oh, man, how the hell you expect to beat that man?

31:19Hey.

I'm going Penny Hardaway at the one. I'm going MJ at the two. I'm going Bron at the three. I'm going KG at the five. I knew it. I knew it. I know balls, Joe. I know balls. I'm going KG at the four. And I'm going Diesel, Shaq.

36:02I'm going Shaq at the five. Joe, that's a good team. you ain't taking timiddy yeah okay i ain't got but five spots here i got it

36:14tim duncan oh oh hey hey joe what's up hey forget what i'm talking about swing that thing one more time joe i'm in the coach I mean, I'm just talking to Joe.

36:29Hey, what's wrong with this dude? As a 22-year-old, I can tell you the order. Ocho Frico is one. Unk is two. Sneaky ISO is three. Damn. Jayla Hurts was playing for the Bears tonight. Hey, I wonder why I got to be sneaky. Why I got to be sneaky. Because everybody know. Everybody know. Everybody know, Joe. What? I'm in last place, though. I don't understand that. It ain't for three of us, Joe. Yeah, no, I'm always in last, though. You make it seem like you're in last place in the 30 of us. Hey. You real close to the top. Dicall fam, can I get a birthday shout-out? Today is my 31st birthday. I look 21, but I feel 61, LOL.

37:22Happy birthday, Kylie. Hey bro.

37:27Hey, some morning to be like that. Yeah. Well, you ain't lying boy. You wake up some morning. You just pop out of bed the other morning that I just lay there for a little while longer. You hear me? Hey, some morning you get out of bed, you hear all that crackling and my knees popping out. I'm like, damn. Yeah. Yeah. Hey boy, I've been fortunate boy. Hey Joe, Sunday, you know, having a little game that y 'all ain't come and support me in. what happened y 'all win but Joe we lost three zip Joe what you how you let that happen it was the first it was the first game of the season Joe oh man come on hey but hey I had my phone propped up you know listen you know watching the game running up and down the field you know this morning you know I woke up I didn't know how my body was gonna feel you know so I can still move a little bit like when I'm in open space you know I just wanna run yeah and Joe I thought my body was gonna be messed up today, Joe.

38:22I woke up, man. I felt pretty good, Joe. Yeah, that's what's up, man. I didn't know what to expect. I'm 59 and I'm playing 30 and under. So, I don't know. I'm going to hit that wall at some point, boy. It ain't hit me yet, though. Keep going. Keep going. Yo, Big Three, I'm just saying since Unc's teams won yesterday and Ocho's and Joe's team lost, it's only fair that each of you wear Ravens and Broncos jersey, don't matter which one wears what. Love from IE. This is out of control. This is out of control. And that must be your homeboy or something that you broke right there. You got to check it.

39:03That's somebody you know, huh? Yeah, you know it, man. Come on, Ocho. And you can't make, you know, you got to put all that out there in the open for the bit before we jump off. You know what I mean? You can't start making stuff up. Well, Joe, ain't nobody going to wear the cowboy jersey this year. So, ain't no telling. Damn. Joe, y 'all might not win more than about five or six games. You got to chill. What is wrong with you? Boy, you feeling good over there too now. You need to chill. Damn. Your day coming again. Keaton looked like Peyton Manning. Goldfish could have jobbed. But what does Suriyani do?

39:43Somehow he gets 10, 11 wins and keeps his job. I want him gone. Super Bowl win be damned. them CEO coaches ain't it. Damn, boy, them Philly fans, boy, they brutal, boy. They do. They don't play. But you know, sometimes they do. Sometimes coaches live off a Super Bowl or NBA championship and they overstay their welcome. Yeah. Well, they lost - That don't give you no lifetime pass, now, Joe. Cause players don't get a lifetime pass for winning a championship. You're right. But think about what they lost when they won the Super Bowl. They lost a lot of key pieces, bro. Yeah. Yeah. Well, they lost the office coordinator who's doing a great job in New Orleans.

40:24They kept Vic Fangio. But they've lost a lot of key pieces. Yeah. And they've gotten older.

40:34The whole NFC East is cookies. What? Ocho, please, can you get us a Thierry Henry and Big Mix on Nightcap? If not, expressions will do. Hey. Hey, that'd be funny. That'd be funny. Yeah, I like that. It's only three weeks, y 'all. Stay on that side. My bird still winning the division, Joe. Offense some slow right now, but we'll bounce back. Fly, Eagles, fly. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, we ain't even hit stride yet. We still working some kinks out over here. Yeah. What kind of kinks y 'all got, Joe? Come on, man. Come on, man. We got guys. We trying to get acclimated with the system. Ocho, don't start acting like that.

41:16Y 'all got the same team from last year. No, we don't. We got a bunch of new pieces who we trying to get right on this defense end. I say offense, Joe. Well, hell, defense. We need the defense to step up too, Ocho. Well, Joe, you told me y 'all defense didn't improve, Joe. It takes time, Ocho. It takes time. It's just three games. Damn. Hey, yeah, all right. Okay. We going to see about week 10. Hindsight is 20-20, but did the Giants make the right call on 26? did they do right by not resigning Saquon? Yeah. You think so? Man, they let Saquon go. Saquon wouldn't win the Super Bowl the next year.

41:56What you talking about? So that was the right call for the Giants? Hell no. It was the right call for Saquon. They didn't want to pay him. They didn't see the value in him. But they went and paid the quarterback who's no longer there, and he's over in Indianapolis now. Yeah, he done been two stops since then. Yeah, what we talk about. So the Giants haven't made the right call yet, and they just made another blunder again. They went and got – I ain't going to talk about nobody. Come on, man. I ain't going to talk about nobody. You got to give a man an opportunity, Ojo, before you go. I ain't going to talk about nobody.

42:24And he had an opportunity. He had one of the best opportunities. As a quarterback in the NFL, there are 32 teams. There are a few teams. There are a few teams you can go to where you can have instant success because of what's surrounded by you. Huh? It would be a dream for a quarterback to go to any of these teams. Minnesota is one of them. Cincinnati is another. that's just naming two. I'm not even going to mention any other offenses that have great, great, great superior talent that makes your job easy on the outside. Come on, Joe. You can't mess up when you got that kind of deck of cards. You got to play that hand the right way.

42:59That's a flush.

43:03Okay. Oh, Joe, when you coming out with your own line of shades, 85 degrees. Hey, I like that. Hey, speaking of shades, you know, man, I like that. As a matter of fact, with my shades, I'm going to have a line of clothing. Huh? Yeah? Cheap. Cheap. Everything under$50. Sweats. Really? Yeah. That's going to be hard, bro. No, not really. I'm going to do that. I like my nightcap merch. Well, I need some more nightcap merch, man. We need something with me, you, and Joe on the front of it. We looking at that right now. Yes. and new sweats. You know, I get, matter of fact, you know what you do? When we do a nightcap merch, we should have nightcap merch like cheetah shorts.

43:49You feel me? Hey, hey Joe, like a specific cheetah shorts like this that people can get them and they have like the little NC on the side. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, those things will fly off the shelf. Don't you hear me? I'm telling you, boy. Hey, what? Some nightcap cheetah shorts? Hey, boy. Nah, ISO, stay over there. We remember how you came with us last week. Who that? Bear that. Who, what, what, what, what you talking about? Who a game at? The Bears, cause they lost. I ain't gonna lie, boy. That's why I said yesterday, I said, damn, I just knew you were gonna go with the Bears when me and Ocho took the Eagles.

44:30I ain't like taking the same team Ocho took any damn way with his janky, you know what I mean? He's janky. Yeah, for sure. Damn, I ain't no case. I mean, y 'all got Cleveland. I got Pittsburgh. So we different on Thursday night. I got the same team as Ocho again? Yeah. Whoa, whoa, whoa. What you mean? I picked the Bears. Talking about Thursday night. We talking about you picked Cleveland. Oh, again, for the Steelers game? Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. I only picked Cleveland because of Deshaun. That's why. Damn. So somebody. I ain't got no horse in that place. Somebody going to get an opportunity to get a TV?

45:04I got a question. Yeah. Because when me and Ocho win, I need to know how this thing going to work. I don't need us splitting$500. We get 250 P. You know what I'm saying? You get to purchase something on your wish list. Okay. All right. You heard me, Joe? Dang, Ocho, you didn't even give JJ a chance. You had to like asking him to drop back 30 times a game. Give my giant some grace, man. Also, shout out Javon Holland. Our safety, he got more interceptions than the Cowboys. L-O laughed my ass off. Love y 'all. He's playing unbelievable right now. Yeah, Javon Hollins played really, really well. Yeah, and my Cowboys, we having a hard time getting turnover.

45:49Yep, damn. Yeah, turnover, y 'all having a hard time stopping people too, Joe. All right, all right, all right. Hey, I like you offensively, Joe. I wish y 'all get picked the ball. I see 88, double eight getting his, you know he getting his thing on yeah how many how many uh uh passes you want to throw the uh pick we doing whatever if we're doing everything we can to get in there damn all right i'm just making sure joe because y 'all what y 'all y 'all y 'all y 'all cowboys fans wanting wanting you back so bad so you know if you're gonna have that don't let him be decoration it ain't christmas he ain't no christmas on him i'm telling you gonna lose him once he disconnect you ain't gonna connect that wi-fi back i can tell you not

46:33Who would you rather have as a teammate, ISO, Jokic or Giannis? I already know the answer to this. You're probably going to say me. Jokic or Giannis. I'm probably going to go Jokic. I ain't going to lie. I'm probably going to go Jokic. Jokic is a reluctant scorer. He can score the ball, but Jokic going to get A. Jokic, you get going, Jokic will have 20 assists. See, you know what it is? He's so good. Yoko just so good at scoring Uncle Ocho. He's a pass first big. He just scores when you make him score. Oh, you don't bring a double team? Alright, I'm gonna make your ass pay. But he looks for his guys.

47:16But man, them dudes who play around Yoko, they be eating. Them boys, they be fat full. And he makes sure they get full health. He having them 12, 13 assists a game. Man, please, put me with Yoko. I told y 'all last night, Keenan was going to surprise plenty of people in Johnson's offense. Y 'all all dismissed it. Johnson was in his bag, and Keenum had many toys to play. Bear down. They did, bro. Keenum looked good, boy. Damn. He come out spinning that thing quick, early, got into a nice rhythm. Bing, bing. Appreciate all the hard work, Big Three. Iso, Joe, has been a good addition to the show.

47:56What happened to all those critics that said Lamar should be a running back or wide receiver? I mean, there was only a handful of them. They were wrong. Yeah. Yeah. They were wrong.

48:09And good thing for Lamar sticking with his guns and believing in them damn cells. Hell yeah. You know what I mean? Because you got to think about it. You get a chance to play the American dream, play in the NFL, the NBA, any professional sport. You damn near do whatever they ask you to. You know what I mean? And for him to stick with being a quarterback says a lot about that young man, bro. Ocho says system for Purdy, but gives her excuses after five OCs. Jalen got carried to that ring. If all this cow, couldn't Jimmy G sniff Purdy's stats with more weapons? Stats don't lie. Ocho does. Hey, I'm confused.

48:49I'm confused with the words that he just said. Where did I mention anything about system? I don't recall ever saying that.

49:02keep enjoying the wins because as soon as the cowboys and bingos win ocho and iso will be on one two i know i know i already know what but joe ain't gonna win anytime soon so he gotta wait another week man please y 'all got us bent why oh and the jags gonna put that thing on ocho them too so i i bet you well you won't bet none And I got a tremendous amount of respect for all my people down there in Duval. But hey, the time has come. The time has come. Unc talked about the Cowboys because he had the delusion of belief that they could have beat the Cowboys, and we know that wasn't going to happen.

49:45Man, we beat the Cowboys. What are you talking about? Man, come on, bro. Come on. Man, there wasn't no damn time out neither. Huh? One second. One second, Joe. Nah. Luka can't carry a team. He's a slower mellow. A slower mellow? A slower mellow. Nah, I wouldn't say he's a slower mellow. I think he definitely can carry a team. My thing is, it's just the duration. How long can he carry the damn team without getting injured? You know what I mean? Yes. Yeah, we know he'll make it 30, 40 games before he have a little hiccup. and then it kind of just kind of lingers throughout the whole season to where he never gets back to 100%.

50:30So then when the postseason gets here and it's revved up at 1 ,000, hell, he can't get there. He can't get there. So hopefully he can stay healthy, bro. So now it's been 10 years since you were on the 2016-17 Jazz that beat the Clippers in the first round. Favorite memory from that season and series? My favorite memory from that season and series was – I remember going into the postseason, Uncle Osho, we were the fifth seed, but we kept flip-flopping with the Clippers, meaning like we would be the fourth seed, they would be the fifth seed. Like it came down like the last seven, eight games. And I remember we had a team meeting in Utah because the guys had never been to the playoffs before.

51:12And I remember Coach Quinn Snyder, he was like, Joe, what you think? He was like, you think we should start the playoffs on the road or at home? I said, hell, let's start on the road. Because, see, we start on the road, and you squander a game away, one or two. The first game or the second game, you get a chance to kind of see what level you need to play on and how idle you have to have this thing. Versus when we get home, we can't lose no damn games. Exactly. We got to win all our home games. So I thought it was a great challenge for us as a young team, and we answered the bell. It was fun. It was fun.

51:49Do you think it's fair to put that much pressure on Luka? It's not like he chose to go to the Lakers. He got traded there. But I understand stars win. Absolutely. But guess what? He chose to resign. Hello. So this is where he wants to be. And you understand when you go, promise you, there could have been worse places he could have got traded to. Hello. With that being said, he knows what comes along with going and playing for the Lakers. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And I'm sure he's up for that challenge too, bro. Yep. Yeah. Because when you look over there, he see all those banners hanging. He see all those retired numbers.

52:26When he pull up and they see those statues out front, he know what that is. He knows what is required of him. And he wants his jersey and his name put up in them damn rafters. Absolutely. Yep. That completes this episode of Nightcap as you watch the Bears take down the Eagles by the score of 27-7. Oh, man. Case Keenan was dealing tonight 24-34, 200. What do you have? Oh. Hold on. That boy was a dog out there. Oh, he was dealing. He was dealing tonight. Case Keenan was 24-34, 247, two touchdowns. He also had a rushing touchdown. He was outstanding tonight. The Bears' defense completely throttled the Philadelphia offense.

53:14They could get nothing going. Jalen Hurts had a fumble. And Tank Bigsby had a fumble. And Andy Dalton came in, and he had a pick. So three turnovers along with ten penalties, that won't get it done. No, sir. But thank you for joining us for another episode of Nightcap. You know who I am.
