2:35Shannon Sharpe:Joe Burrow said the vibe on this year's Bengals team are similar to the ones that held the 2019 LSU team where he led college football to the playoff championship. You go back and watch what I said before the 2019 season at LSU. I feel very similar about this team. I'm so excited to get started and get moving. I wish we ramped this up right now into training camp so we can continue to improve. I've tried to be a little more vocal in a mean way. I think that's a little out of my comfort zone, but that's somewhere what I'm improving. Maybe it's good, maybe it's bad, but we'll find out. Ocho? Yes, sir.
3:13Shannon Sharpe:How do you feel about your Bengals being compared to the 2019 LSU Tigers from Burrow?
3:18Joe Johnson:I mean, listen, only Joe would know. He was a quarterback on that team. So obviously the vibe, the aura, the atmosphere is reminiscent of that time with him at LSU, with Justin Jefferson and Jamar chasing those boys. And obviously, I don't think he means it from an offensive standpoint. I think it means it collectively as a team. With some of the moves that they made in the offseason, I'm assuming the vibe is a little different around there at OTAs and minicamp. So I kind of trust him being that he would be the one to actually know that. and I don't want to get too excited. I know we have some great players offensively and defensively, but again, on Sundays at 1 o 'clock, can we execute?
4:01Joe Johnson:Not just on offense, but can we do it on defense as well? Yeah.
4:06Shannon Sharpe:Hey, look, I like the Bengals, man. I get Ocho problem here and there, but for the most part, I like y 'all, Ocho. I think for me, it's the defensive side of the ball and obviously Joe Burrow staying healthy. clearly. You know, if he stays healthy, I think y 'all got a great chance to obviously do something special. So, you know, for him to feel the way he's feeling, saying it feels like that 2019 team at LSU, bro, that's saying a lot. That's saying a lot. You know what, guys? I think the thing is, he says he's been meaner, and maybe that's good, maybe it's bad, and he did, he's done this on purpose.
4:46Shannon Sharpe:I think that's the biggest thing. I think, you know, sometimes you're like, man, I don't need to get them. But I can honestly say, John, hey, I want to run it again. Yeah. No, we're not. No, no, no, no, no, no. Now, Mike was also like that, but we had a level of expectation because we was having a conversation, Rod and I, about we go to practice and the ball wouldn't hit the ground. We know we're going to be ready that week. But that was the expectation level. No mistakes. Hey, mistakes drove me crazy. Even my own mistakes drove me crazy because I know better. But, hey, I'm trying to jump the gun on you.
5:30Shannon Sharpe:You know, hey, that's that because I'm gone. Hey, I'm out of the blocks. I'm gone. Out of there. I'm gone. I'm gone. But we held everybody accountable. Stop bull jiving.
5:43Joe Johnson:Mm-hmm.
5:46Shannon Sharpe:that'll get a bro you can't cover that dude that dude on the practice squad that guy ain't gonna see the field right what you think that what you think they receive is gonna do yes uh guy you can't get open against this guy this guy ain't gonna play on this guy gonna be in the stands right bro get it right bro you hot how many times see now instead of running to the phone get your ass in that playbook yeah get your ass in that playbook training camp Joe if they came by training camp because you know we had club she she if you busted a play you couldn't come to club she she get your ass up there and study your plays because when my ass might end up shutting my club down because your punk ass in here and you ain't study your damn plays get your ass out of here hold on you said when you was playing you had club Yeah.
6:43Shannon Sharpe:What was going on at Club She-She then? They playing Madden. We rolling dice. We playing cards. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I can say it now. I ain't going to say who it was. They smoking cigarettes. Might have been our quarterback, but that ain't none of my business. Yeah. Hey, that's a good thing. Hey, look. That's a good thing for the Bengals, man. Joe asserting himself, you know, putting himself in uncomfortable situations. obviously you know that's what growth occurs so hey Joe also
7:17Joe Johnson:listen to me now speaking of growth speaking of him changing his mannerisms and him being a captain and a leader this is almost like a we got to have it this season yes you made that statement that cryptic statement and we all knew what it meant because you see the Bengals and that organization moving completely different than they've ever moved before, doing some of the things that they're not characteristic of doing in the offseason, we're going to get you some defensive players. That's up to you. Do what you need to do offensively. Stay healthy. And let's string some wins together and make it to the playoffs this year, which I think we missed, what, the past, what, two, three years?
8:00Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, the last couple of years. And I think the thing is for him is that it's okay to get on your defense. Come on, guys. Let's be better. Let's be better. I mean, you're going against us. You're going against us. I'm one of the better quarterbacks. We got one of the better receiving duos. Come on now.
8:26You have to be okay not being everybody's friend,
8:32Shannon Sharpe:especially when it comes to practicing and trying to get better. I'll be your friend we'll come back and reminisce we get the championship Joe we come back and reminisce talk about how we won this championship we'll be friends again and if you choose not to come back that's okay too there are a lot of guys that don't come back we have the reunion and stuff guys don't come back that's okay you grown
9:01Shannon Sharpe:never lose sight of why we're here fellas we're here to win and I want to win more than anything. I want to win more than be your damn friend. I can guarantee you that.
9:12Joe Johnson:Absolutely.
9:12Shannon Sharpe:Hello. Hello.
9:17Shannon Sharpe:And, you know, we build a bond. You know, we did things. Like I said, club shea-shea, you know, guys come play. But if you blow in the fly, what you in there for? Get your damn playbook. Right.
9:33Shannon Sharpe:And because first thing, you didn't want your plays. Mike going to ask, where were you last night? Man, I was in club. No, he wasn't in club. You're lying. You're not going to have him be shutting down at club, because you were in there. You're supposed to be studying your damn place because you want to play mad. You want to roll dice. You want to play cards. You want to drink beer. Because, you know, we'd have, you know, companies come in. They stack. We have beer stacked up to the ceiling. Yeah. Oh, we had that thing with no club. She said, we're like that. yeah we playing music we had it going on hold on you drink but the guys did so I just had it for them yeah
10:17hey
10:17Shannon Sharpe:hey man hey let me get hey come on in bro have a good old time it was noisy nobody wanted to be on the 8th floor cause we was on the 8th floor making all the type of noise and we playing pranks on everybody man I rang about 6 or 7 tubes of toothpaste. Because in the morning, I'm going to wake up in the morning and I'm going to put toothpaste on somebody's door. So when they walk out, just pull the door. Because you know, ain't nobody looking. They just closed the door. Come on, Sharp. I'm laying in bed. Man, ain't nobody do that with Sharp.
10:52Shannon Sharpe:Man, I'll be like. So I go by the time I get to the cafeteria, Sharp. I'm like, man, you need to stop playing. So I said, what are you talking about? I just woke up. Nah, man, ain't nobody did that. But you stop playing. Or we'll put rubbing alcohol. and set it on fire? Hey, come out. Nah, man, Sean, leave us alone. Or we'll penny lock you in the room? You ever penny lock somebody in the room, Joe? Oh, Joe, Joe? Penny lock, what that means? Yeah. You take pennies, you know, it's just enough. So you put pennies in the door so they can't open it. Either way, they can't pull it over or push it open.
11:28Joe Johnson:Oh, I ain't never seen that.
11:31Shannon Sharpe:I ain't neither. Man, we kept people penny locked in the room. Oh, we'll knock your peephole out. Hey, come on, man. I want to talk to you about something. Nah, Sharp, you play too much. Five things all in your room. Oh, that's messed up. Oh, man, come on. The last night, man, we did the last time we was up in Greeley. This was 2002. I'm sorry, Harpo, I got to get you up. I said, Harpo, I need a master key. You know, everybody called me Sharpie. Sharpie, what you need it for? I said, Sharpie. I said, Harpo, we got to get the rookies, man. They been misbehaving. He say, after we do room check, come down and get it.
12:18Shannon Sharpe:So now me, Burns, about five of us, we done went, I think it was King Soopers or something. But we done got, we take all the trash cans. So we fill it up with syrup, water, and flour, and we cut up the pillows and dumped the feathers in there. Oh, man. Hey, about 1 o 'clock, 1.30 in the morning, them Joke asleep. Pelucho.
12:44Joe Johnson:Hey, I know they were. I know they were mad.
12:47Shannon Sharpe:Hey, they sound asleep, Ocho and Joe.
12:52Joe Johnson:I know they were mad. What? Were they? Hey. Hey, because as a rookie, man, you're going to get guys anyway. No matter what you do.
13:03Shannon Sharpe:It don't matter if you're doing everything right or if you're doing everything. They're going to get you, bro. In Baltimore, we tied them up to the goalposts, dunk water on them, put them in the cold tub. Yeah. But in Denver, oh, yeah, we got them. Man, we messed up people's computers. I'm sorry, guys. I am so sorry that we messed up your computer. Man, when they go to popcorn. But we did about 45. And all the... Because we going to get Bible Steemies off everybody floating. We empty those. That thing like a winter wonderland. Yeah. Hey, hey. They going to get your keys out your locker while you're in practice and they popcorn your car.
13:43Shannon Sharpe:Okay, Ocho. Man, you know how hard it is getting all that stuff out your car for us. Yeah, I've seen those clips. That's funny. Joe, we steal somebody's car and drive it about a mile away, leave it running, doors open, lights on. Damn! By the time practice over here, that thing's dead. Dang.
14:00Joe Johnson:I got off easy as a rookie. The most they did to me, tied me to the goal post, left me out there, poured all the Gatorade out the practice, Gatorade on top of me, the water on top of me. That was pretty much it. And my rookie dinner. My rookie dinner, I had to pay for the receivers. I got off easy.
14:21Shannon Sharpe:Oh. And we're going to make you late. You got to be late. You got to be late for one practice. because we're going to nail your locker shut. Nail it shut. Man, come on, man. Who did this, man? Oh, man. Show them some fun days. Hey, hey. We met Snickers and put them in your helmet. Oh, yeah. Baby powder in your helmet and you be sweating. That thing. Like, man, what the? Come on, man. Man, y 'all play too. I said, bro, I don't know why everybody blame it on me. Like, I'm the only guy on the team. Man, ain't nobody but Sharp. It had to be Sharp or Burns. I bet you. Man, come on, bro. Y 'all just stopped blaming me for stuff that I did.
15:08Shannon Sharpe:I mean, I didn't do. Hey, hey, hey. I try to do everything right, Uncle Ocho. What you need? Coffee? What you need? Propylactic? What you need? Newspaper? I'm bringing it on. I'm making sure I ain't missing anything. They got you, Joe? because it was three of us as rookies. So, you know, like, if one of us ain't doing what they ask, hell, we all got to pay. Man, we came outside one day, bought them cars, it was full popcorn. I'm talking about as soon as you open the door, it comes flushing. Oh, man. I got unlucky too, Ocho, because I was the only rookie. And they didn't want to do anything. So I had a limo, I had a limo, had the thing, and ain't nobody show up.
15:49I'm like, thank you,
15:50Shannon Sharpe:Jesus. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Jesus. But Clinton Portis, oh, we got Portis. Clinton Portis, Ashlyn Lee. Y 'all got CP? Did we? I know he was mad.

That's it,$22 ,500. $2 ,000? 22 ,500 well y 'all y 'all would have had to see me hey the thing is look I say look guys this is what we're gonna do we not taking anything home cause you know cause guys have started they order steaks $150 steaks take home my in-laws come in town no your in-laws ain't finna eat none of this buy a$3 ,000 bottle of wine to take home now if you wanna drink some Rothschilds from Patruz, or if you want a shot of that King Louis, hey, what's the most expensive? 16:57Joe Johnson:What? Oh, whoa, whoa. Come on, come on. You said that too casual. $125 for what?

18:14Joe Johnson:yeah
18:17Shannon Sharpe:You made the price go up even more. For sure. Yeah. But you know, sometimes we had rookies, they wouldn't know how to draft picks. You know, I went, I helped them out. Right. But if you were the first round draft pick, and you on the skill position running back or wide receiver, yeah, you got it. Get all that.
18:40Joe Johnson:You know what's funny too? What's that? You know what's tradition? all NFL teams obviously rookies based on position you all have rookie night obviously the dinners when I was a veteran I never did it I never made the rookie have to do anything
18:53Shannon Sharpe:you ain't do oh man
18:55Joe Johnson:I ain't made them boys do nothing I had to deal with it I was kind of cool about it I wasn't with the hazing you ain't got to carry my pad you ain't got to carry my helmet I was cool I would just chill

19:24Joe Johnson:Yeah.
19:25Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, for sure.
19:26Joe Johnson:I was kind of cool about it.
19:28Shannon Sharpe:Mm-mm. I had to get chicken. And I ain't even want no chicken.
19:33Joe Johnson:Well, that's right. I had to do Popeyes, huh? Yeah. For the receivers. I had to do Popeyes on game day as a rookie, Joe. Hey, you mentioned the game when I wasn't dressing. I still had to get Popeye's.
19:44Shannon Sharpe:Listen, man, I had to get coffee, donuts, and a newspaper. These folks ain't even looking at the newspaper. Hold on, hold on, Joe.
19:51Joe Johnson:Now, this is very important, man. When you go get donuts, we talk about Dunkin' Donuts or we talk about Kris Kreme?
19:56Shannon Sharpe:I was getting Dunkin' Donuts at the time. Nah, they had this place, I think it's called Winchell's. And they're talking about they want them hot. Oh, I know about Winchell's, aunt. Yeah, I think that was the name of it, Ocho. And Joe, they're talking about they want them hot. and they wanted six glaze and they wanted with jelly donuts and they want... I said, come on, man. Damn. And they want breakfast sandwich. They got this spot. They got breakfast sandwich. I want bacon, egg, and cheese. I want sausage, egg, and cheese. Well, I want mine on a... You be late for that plane. You want to? Man, please.
20:32Shannon Sharpe:But I wanted to fight these dudes for real. And I know they couldn't beat me. I want to fight these in words for real. And then I was just like, you know what? I ain't going to lie, Joe. But like week eight or week nine, I just told her, I said, I ain't bringing no more donuts. You said that? I said, I ain't bringing no more donuts. They said, all right, you know what's going to happen. I said, okay. If anybody's knowing y 'all, because they're going to cut me, because I'm going to whip every last one of y 'all. Did you bring them? No. I was done. They weren't even eating them. Okay. First of all, I'm a seventh-round draft pick, Ocho.
21:13Shannon Sharpe:I ain't got no bread like that. I'm buying all this stuff, and when I leave, you know, I sit them in the guy's locker, and they still, I mean, somebody might eat one donut. Somebody might eat, you know, one breakfast sandwich or two breakfast sandwiches. I done bought seven, eight. Nah. They didn't want you to put the work in. They just want you, hey, they just want you, they just want to put your ass to work. I'm having to get up early. hey they wasting your money huh that's okay hey hey not only that you gotta leave practice early on days we finna fly yes you gotta leave practice early cause you gotta go get all these sandwiches yes thank you Joe thank you subways boy you gonna be late we calling you you ain't got about 10 minutes boy you pulling up sweating like I don't know what yeah somebody want Popeyes somebody want Kentucky Fried Chicken somebody want Burger King I mean why can't you just go get Popeyes
22:06Joe Johnson:and everybody get I want spicy
22:08Shannon Sharpe:I want mild man so I'm done that's crazy that's how it happened
22:16Joe Johnson:that's crazy
22:17Shannon Sharpe:so that was the end of that I did it I did it for as long as I could once I'd have kept doing it if they were eating the sandwiches I'd have kept buying them no problem but nah y 'all not eating them and then you know the D lineman eating them and the offensive lineman eating them nah right I say hey well I guess this ass cut I'm going to have to take. But I tell you what, two of y 'all are going to get effed up. I promise you that. Did they complain? What are they going to do? I told them whatever y 'all want to do. Right. Oh, damn. They gave me the name Big Greasy for a reason.
22:55Joe Johnson:Yeah.
22:56Shannon Sharpe:Big Greasy.
23:01Joe Johnson:Hey, Unc. Huh? I would have had to jump on you, boy. I would have had to jump on you, boy. Like a chicken on a jelly, boy. I ain't got into it, no.
23:09Shannon Sharpe:I got into it one time. For real? Yeah, me and CK. Because I was a rookie. Because when they moved me to tight end, obviously, I had to go into the tight end room. Right. CK was a vet. CK sat behind me. And every day, you know, I don't want to cause no trouble. My grandma say, boy, I don't seen you nowhere. You know how to behave. You know how to act. Yes, sir. C.K. kept knocking my, um, so I have all my thing out, so I'm trying to take notes. So I have my notebook out. Man, it ain't worried y 'all like to maybe say this ninja would, like, kick the book and all my papers fine. So, you know, I got to rearrange them.
23:49Shannon Sharpe:Right. And so I thought, okay, it's a rookie. I'm a rookie. Okay, I'm going to eat this a couple of times. You know, one of them days, guys, you just don't even feel like being bothered. Uh-oh, you snapped on? You catch the right guy, but it just happened to be the wrong day. Yep.
24:15Shannon Sharpe:Man, that Joe kicked that thing over one more time, that last time. Boy, I jumped out of that seat, death flipped over. By that time, I was right here. I got him out of his seat. I said, CK, you do that one more time, bro. I'm going to beat your ass and you're going to beat me. And I don't think you can beat me. I don't think you can beat me. Who broke it up? I ain't have nothing. Nobody. They were just looking like, well, damn.
24:48Joe Johnson:I bet he said, I'm just playing.
24:51Shannon Sharpe:I bet he ain't do it no more. Because at that time, my eyes, when I get really, really upset, my eyes get really red and they start to water I had a young lady she used to call me beast because when I get really upset she's like man look at your nostrils
25:13Shannon Sharpe:so she called me beast man I was like boy look here had I been a well he wouldn't have done that if I was a vet but he thought like and see I don't like all that picking that's what they call it In the South, we call it picking, Ocho. They call it bullying now.
25:31Joe Johnson:Trying to bully, yeah. I don't do all that picking.
25:35Shannon Sharpe:And grown men don't play like that. I had no telling man, stop that, man. I was thinking the coach, the Tynan coach, was going to say something. But he didn't.
25:48Shannon Sharpe:That was it. And then I slapped a dude one time because he was playing. Damn, huh? You slapping people at work? Look here, man. And when a man tell you to stop playing, what you do, Joe? Stop playing, hell. It was cold, and he knocked the ball out of my hand. I'm talking about it was cold. I'm talking about I bundled up. I got two sweatsuits, two pair of sweatpants on. I'm talking about it cold out there. Come on, man. So he knocked the ball out of my hand. I said, man, stop playing. So catch me a pass. I come back. he hit the ball and the ball hit me in the face and before I had knew it I had them punched him there in his face a little slight reaction I'm talking about I snapped he said man you for real they said that man just punched the shit at you what you think I went on about my business that was the end of that I bet he didn't do it no more Nope.
26:53I mean, we didn't speak for a couple of days, but we were cool after that.
26:59Shannon Sharpe:I don't do our look. We had a group that we used to play jokes on each other. Me, Burns, House.
27:10Shannon Sharpe:Double-A dude named Alan Aldridge, rest his soul. He passed away. It was about four of us in foots. So we would play jokes on each other. Couldn't do it in the cafeteria. But if we saw you somewhere outside, like, man, Joe could be eating in his locker, and you come knock all his food out. Oh, okay. We did that in high school. We did it in high school. So check this out, Joe. Check this out, Joe and Ocho. This dude, I get my food. And Ray Jacobs, that's who it was, Ray Jacobs. So every day I would come with pancakes. I come with pancakes from LaPete. I get wheat germ pancakes Banana sliced on top That's it, that's what I would get I would park in the same spot Every day How about dude laying up Under his car He laying up under his car I ain't thinking nothing about it Man I got my Pancakes, got my orange juice I'm just gonna tear this up How do you roll up Under his car and just kick my bag right up Out of my hand oh man they and Kate go everywhere yeah he laid on the ground under his truck like Kate Fear you see the movie Kate Fear with Robert De Niro that's how old boy did me hey you know
28:34Joe Johnson:back in high school we played that and you got something in your hand they slap it out your hand real quick and it hit the floor
28:41Shannon Sharpe:it's yours
28:42Joe Johnson:but it hit the floor though Joe so you can't eat it no more I play three second rule, boy. Three second rule, I'm picking it up. I'm eating mine.
28:51Shannon Sharpe:You couldn't eat that because we hit on the floor and just step on it. You ain't eat that on Joe. That's exactly what guys would do. Tell me, oh, three second rule, it's good. Three second rule, yep. Joe, y 'all ain't play that three second rule, Joe? Nah, nah, nah. We played games like if you had something in your hand and I liked it and I knocked it out, then it was mine. Okay, okay, okay. Yeah. We be in training camp, Ocho. I go around and screw the top off and just barely put it back on. All the salt and pepper shakers. So when they get some... All the pepper in the plate. All the salt on the food.
29:33Shannon Sharpe:Hey, boy, you man. I was. I did. I did. That was... Hey. That was all the stuff that I wanted to do. I said, I couldn't wait. They got me, Joe. Yeah, yeah. That's the thing. I got to get my get back. Yeah. I hated when, because that was my, in 2003, my last year playing, we had training camp at the facility. That's when they had started, you know, bringing in, and we didn't go back to Greeley anymore. But to go to Greeley, to be in that dorm, because we stayed at UNC, University of Northern Colorado, up in Greeley. Man. Oh, we stayed in some mess. Oh, man. Oh, Ocho, Ocho would have been mad. Oh, we got Ocho.
30:27Shannon Sharpe:Who? We got Ocho. You're a rookie. Nah, but y 'all would have loved me. Y 'all wouldn't have messed with me. Yeah, we would have. And you're a rookie, yeah. And then we got you so bad. And you like, oh, I'm getting me somebody back. Yeah. They make something up to get you, Ocho. It don't matter if you're doing everything right. They going to make something up.
30:50Joe Johnson:It's all good. It's all good. Yeah, because you're only a rookie once, Ocho. Yeah, you're right. You're right. And then guess what?
30:58Shannon Sharpe:You're going to be a vet longer than you're going to be a rookie. Rookie, yeah. So guess about all the rookies that come in after you. Yeah.
31:05Joe Johnson:See, I let all the rookies slide that came after me. I was a good sport about it too, Uncle Joe. I was a good sport about it. I want to. But listen, listen, I understand this tradition. I really ain't into that. So I'm going to accept it. I'm going to pay what I need to pay. Hood before the games. I'm going to get your Popeyes, you know.
31:23Shannon Sharpe:I'm good. I don't want no Popeyes. I want you to sing. Where you from? Put your hand over your heart. Where you from? Oregon State. What position you play? Wide receiver. How about you, your signing bonus? 500. Oh, hell no. How you get$500 ,000?
31:43Hey,
31:47Shannon Sharpe:the worst thing in the NBA was when they made you as rookies, they make all the rookies carry these little girl backpacks. You had to carry like a pink backpack, or it might have to be clear to where you can see everything. It might be a butterfly backpack. Door to explore. Oh, man. Oh, yeah. Door to explore. All that. Yeah. Yeah. Old season. But that's gone on. What we did was passed down. They have been doing that for like 40, 50 years, old Joe Joe. Yeah. Damn. So we just want to keep the tradition going. Okay. All that that cutting up. We ain't cutting no hair. I mean, I see some people cut people hair.
32:34Shannon Sharpe:Nah, we ain't cutting nobody. I ain't cutting nobody hair now. Wow. Oh, yeah, man, they be getting new, man. They cut half the side of the hair off like this here. The rest of the side is there. Oh, man. Oh, yeah, they get your mohawk. They do all. Oh, man, Joe, I said, oh, no. Y 'all doing too much for that.
32:55Shannon Sharpe:That's too much. Then was the days. I'm sorry. Man, you know what? Now that I think about it, y 'all ain't getting no rookie initiation, Joe. Joe, we didn't get y 'all no rookie initiation. Joe? Yeah. What we don't do to him? I don't know. We think of something. Hey, I'm two years in. Yeah, you right, Joe.
33:21Joe Johnson:We done passed the test. Not really. We still got to initiate you, though. Hey, Unk, you know what? I'm kind of mad, too, Unk.
33:30Shannon Sharpe:What then?
33:31Joe Johnson:For what? I'm mad. He faking an injury, trying to duck me, man. Oh, he ducking you, Ocho? Yeah, he ducking me. I'm thinking about that. I just thought about that.
33:38Shannon Sharpe:Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, hey, hey, hey. What I ain't doing in the big three ain't got nothing to do with you, brother. Oh. I'm going to be able to tend to you soon. Don't you even worry about that. Damn. Yeah. Don't worry about that. You think so? Yeah, yeah. Ocho, that left leg, he said that left leg is only like 115. So he ain't going to be able to push off it.
33:58Joe Johnson:Hey, all I'm going to do, I'm going to go to his right because you got to push off that left. That's right. That's right, Ocho.
34:03Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, you can't see in that damn right eye. So we even. We even.
34:09Joe Johnson:Yeah. Hey, Joe, don't talk about my eye, Joe, for real.
34:16Joe Johnson:Hey, that thing a little murky, though, for real, though. Yeah. Good look, Kyle, Ocho. I know. Hey, can you see it? Can you see it?
34:23Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yeah, man.
34:25Joe Johnson:It's bad, huh?
34:28Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
34:29Joe Johnson:Man, that's why we're machine. I'm going to go get the cataract removed, man. I'm going to do it, man. You probably need to. I am. I am. Hey, Unk, I be... Man, I be... Man, I don't know, man. I be... I don't know, man. You scared, huh?
34:42Shannon Sharpe:Boy, don't want to have to... I just... You know what?
34:44Joe Johnson:I remember what it was like in 1994 when I had that surgery and I had inflammation on the inside. My grandma thought it was pink eye. I don't know what it was, but Unk, I remember they took the Q-tip. Yeah. And they took the Q-tip on top of the eyeball. Yeah. And you feel that needle go in, but you can't feel the pain because they have it. They numbed it. That's the worst feeling, man. I just don't want to go through that no more, man.
35:09Shannon Sharpe:And then I had a late - No, that ain't what they do with a cataract now. They actually lift it up and pull it out.
35:16Joe Johnson:Oh, man.
35:17Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, yeah. They got to get that up out of there. Go on, get it done, bro. You got to get right.
35:22Joe Johnson:Yeah, I'm going to do it, Joe. I'm going to do it, Joe. I'm going to do it. I just, oh, that's just the eyeball, man. And what if I get that lazy eye again? 38:28Joe Johnson:Are that Farz Whitaker? No, my eye in high school my eye was stuck like that it was off to the side like Oh, you think that thing cocky, huh? Yeah, I was like that for real. I don't know how like Hey, Joe, you see how I'm looking at you right now? Yeah. It wasn't like that when I was in high school. My eye was stuck to the right like Biggie Smalls. I don't know how it got to the point and I can't see. I can't see nothing out the right eye. I just don't want that to happen. I go back under the knife and then my eye stuck. I'm 50 years old and I'm cock-eyed.
39:05Shannon Sharpe:What'd that look like? We gonna start the show every night with a joker to. Don't think just because you got a cock-eyed at 50 years old, we ain't gonna join you. Boy, please. hey come on man
39:20Joe Johnson:y 'all can't do me like that man yes we can
39:22Shannon Sharpe:yes we will I don't know Joe might not but I'm oh hey nah hey you know I got to get mine in you know what
39:31Joe Johnson:I'm gonna wear a patch don't worry about it that's okay we know what's under there
39:35Shannon Sharpe:you gonna be like hey you gonna be like slick Rick the ruler
39:38Joe Johnson:yeah man honestly that's why I'm nervous about getting it done because I just know after that surgery my eye I had a cock eye all through high school. Sophomore, I had to deal with it in college. And once I got to Santa Monica, for some reason, it started to straighten back up. But I still couldn't see how that.
39:56Shannon Sharpe:Hey, y 'all remember Klump? When Dave Chappelle Reggie, when he asked you, should I get him? Get him, get him. Should I get him? What would he do for a Klondike bar? Now we know who's eating Gil was great. I bet when you cut him, He bleed chunky. Man, Ocho, I'm going to get you. I'm telling you, I'm going to get that surgeon so you can see. Nah, man. But I'm going to get you. Y 'all ain't going to be I mean, the chat want me to. Chat, should I get him? Should we, should Joe and I get him?
40:33Joe Johnson:No, I think the chat on my side, man. Chat, what you think? The chat's like, get him. Get him.
40:38Shannon Sharpe:They say get him.
40:39Joe Johnson:I'm a good dude, man. I'm a good dude. Why would they want to do me like that, man? Get him in the team. It don't matter that you no good dude, man. The champ want a good laugh. The champ say get him. Hey, man. Hey, one thing about it. I might be cock-ass, but I look good, though. That's it. Huh? Yeah. Hey, Joe? Huh? Yeah, I'm a 10 on the scale, man. What we talking about? Okay. Yeah. All right.
41:06Shannon Sharpe:That's all. Oh, Joe. Hey, Joe, where the champ say, Joe? They get him.
41:13Joe Johnson:Get him, yes.
41:14Shannon Sharpe:Get him, yes. See,
41:17Joe Johnson:the chat don't love me, man. Chat don't love me.
41:19Shannon Sharpe:They don't love me. Yeah, they do. That's what they say for me and Joe to get you. Yeah, they don't love me. Get him. Sabrina Inescu hits the game winner. John Quayle Jones had 19 points as the Liberty beat the Sky 96-95. Sabrina Inescu hit the winning layup with about 10 seconds remaining. She subbed back on the floor with 15.6 seconds remaining, caught the ball, drove for the basket before finishing with her left hand to seal the Liberties' eighth straight win. She finished the night with 10 points. Stewie and Satu Sabali had 17 points. Rookie Sidney Taylor scored 24 points in the first career start, hitting 57 % from downtown for the sky.
41:58Shannon Sharpe:Olivia Miles is the only rookie with more 20-point games this season. Gabriela Hawkins, also a rookie, at his season-high 22 points for the sky. Look, I mean,
42:14Shannon Sharpe:the Liberty. I mean, Sabrina Nesco, I think she had surgery this offseason. So she's trying to work herself back in shape. But when you look at what they have, they got two bigs. They got Stewie and Jonquil Jones. Jonquil Jones has been an MVP. She was the finals MVP last time they won it. Stewie has been a two-time league MVP and a finals MVP. They got a loaded team. They're really good. And they got Sabali now. Yeah. Yeah, they got a nice squad. They do. They got a big team. You look at Jones, you look at Stewart, you look at Sabali, they got a really big team. Mm-hmm. And once Onescu gets back in shape, they're going to pay.
42:56Shannon Sharpe:But this guy's been on hard times. They've been, you know, they've been... Angel Reese said, I tried to tell y 'all. Y 'all talking about I need to shut up. I'm trying to tell y 'all. They were trying to get me used to losing over there. So you think it's infrastructure, it's the organization? Something ain't right. Yeah. Because you look at Cardosa, she played 24 minutes. She only had four rebounds. Skylar Diggins, everybody talks about how competitive she is and she does not like to lose. Right. She got to get used to it over there. Hawkins, on that talent. That's the one who played for... What'd you say, Joe?
43:37Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, that's the rookie who plays for the UCLA. Yeah, they had, I think, five or six young ladies going to the first round. Natasha Cloud. I mean, they got okay, but something ain't adding up. Yeah, it ain't. I mean, you got Hawkins had 22. Taylor had 24. Diggins had 19. Cardoza had 10. Natasha Cloud.
44:04Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, they're going to have to figure that out, man. I see... Joe, they was mad at you about what you said about Andrew Reese. What you said, Joe? What, about the accountability? Yeah, I mean, that's with anything, bro. If you can't take it, then don't dish it out. So, y 'all... See, they just disregard how Andrew slapped the ball out of her hand. Right. And the girl ain't pointing and try to, and dry snitch. Yeah. But when she tried to do it to her, she go pointing. Yes. Yeah. You can like Angel. And says, you know what, Angel? If you dish it, you got to be able to take it. You got to take it.
44:42Shannon Sharpe:I mean, I don't know what you said was wrong, Joe. I really don't. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. They got on me about that. But it's okay. Hey, look, I like the dream, but I'm a realist too. You know, when I'm watching something and I see it, I'm like, hold on. She had just did the same thing, the old girl. Now she trying to snitch on her like, come on, bro. And y 'all need to do us a favor. Anytime Joe or Ocho or myself say something that y 'all don't like, stop talking about we don't watch the game. Because y 'all are your toy for that. And y 'all know damn well Ocho and I was watching these games. Y 'all know Joe and I was watching the basketball game.
45:20Every time we say something that y 'all don't agree with,
45:23Shannon Sharpe:oh, you didn't watch the game. well how the hell I know what happened if I didn't watch the game you're watching the game you don't know the hell you're looking at but anyway that's neither here nor there but stop that foolishness stop it you can disagree with what Ocho say what I say what Joe say that's fine just because you disagreed that doesn't mean we didn't watch the game we just have a different opinion on what happened that's okay Hey!
45:55Shannon Sharpe:You know, I don't think you're supposed to agree with everything I say. You're not supposed to agree with everything Joe says or Ocho says. You're having a right to your opinion. I have a right to mine. Everybody on this panel have a right to their opinions. Okay. But y 'all know, y 'all quick. He didn't watch the game. Really? Nah, I ain't watch the Spurs play. I ain't watch the Knicks play. I ain't watch nobody play. I ain't watch football. I don't even know football now.
46:23Joe Johnson:Right.
46:24Shannon Sharpe:Anytime you say, well, you already watched it. Really? Really? You feel comfortable saying that? Mm.
46:40Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, at least Joe is going to Dream's game. Yeah. Oh, you do? clips. I'm telling you things that happened in the game that they don't show in the clips. So then what? What are you saying? I'm telling you that the coverage they ran. I'm telling you who should have blocked who. Did you know who was supposed to block who? Did you know they were mollying the 3-4? Man, what's mollying? Man, hey, the tackle kick out to the widest guy and the guard kick out to the next widest. And they lead the back on the middle guy that's coming. Oh, oh. Ocho, now we tell you he's in a wide nine, a cowboy front. He's in a seven.
47:24Shannon Sharpe:He's in a five. He's in a shade. He's in a cock. But we didn't watch the game. They played cover five. They played cover four. They played cover six kick. They played – Lord have mercy. Just you can say, you know what, Shannon? Ocho, Joe, I don't agree with y 'all. Yeah. that's okay that's cool you don't agree okay what don't you agree with
47:53Shannon Sharpe:because if I don't agree with something I'm going to tell you what I don't agree with right I ain't going to say you didn't watch the game
48:04but anyway
48:07Shannon Sharpe:it's time to play a fade presented by prize picks okay
48:21Shannon Sharpe:We're going back to the National Championship game. LSU versus Iowa. The Dream versus the Fever. Aaliyah Boston, more or less than eight and a half rebounds. More or less. Hold on, who the oldest? Indiana. Yeah, Indiana. Indiana. Indiana and Atlanta. Ah. I'm going to probably say more. What you got, Ocho? I'm going more. Damn, I sure hope some rebounds left because Angel going to be getting a bunch of them. But she's going to have to do a great job of keeping Angel off the board. So I'm going to say I'll go more. Angel Reese, more or less than 12 and a half rebounds. I think she's probably asking about 13 a game.
49:13Shannon Sharpe:The way that girl been eating that glass. She's getting to it, bro. I'm going to say more, huh? She all hustle. She is, bro. If she shot 50 % from the floor, Andrew Reese would be averaging 25 points a game. Maybe 30. Easy. All her shots she missing are in the paint. Yeah, she take her time. Man, what she just had? 11 offensive rounds the other night. Come on. Out of 17. That girl ain't going. the girl ain't playing bro Kaitlyn Clark more or less than 8 assists
49:50Joe Johnson:more she got good vision I know she a shooter but she could pass that ball boy
49:59Shannon Sharpe:damn what's she averaging on the year she's probably about 7 I think she had double digits the other night I don't know what she had tonight All right. I guess we're going more. Yeah, Caitlin says. Hold on. She's averaging 8.3.
50:23Joe Johnson:Told you. Told you, Joe. Listen to me, Joe. When it comes to basketball, just follow my lead, man.
50:30Shannon Sharpe:Just follow your boy lead.
50:31Joe Johnson:I ain't going to see you wrong.
50:33Shannon Sharpe:Here we go. You going more or less, Joe? I'm going more or less.
50:39Joe Johnson:Oh, there you go, Joe. Huh? You learning, boy.
50:42Shannon Sharpe:You learning? Jordan, Canada, more or less than six and a half assists. She plays for the Dream. She had – She got Ryan Howard. She got Alicia Gray. She got some guys that can get some buckets. Yeah, she had – what she had? She had seven. She's averaging seven assists a game. Yeah, I'm going to say more. I'm going to say more. Ocho, you going more too?
51:12Joe Johnson:Absolutely. I'm following Joe I mean I shouldn't be following Joe come on come on
51:19Shannon Sharpe:all you have to do you're going to give me my compliment
51:23Joe Johnson:don't do that backhand
51:26Shannon Sharpe:don't do all that
51:27Joe Johnson:I'm going with Joe this time my bad Joe
51:30Shannon Sharpe:he's ain't going with you this time Joe yeah I already know $25 to win$125 download the app today use code Shannon to get$50 in lineups after you play your first$5 lineup. Prize picks. A preferred partner of the NBA. All right. It's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q &A.
52:04Shannon Sharpe:Before we get to the Super Chat, we've got two video voicemails from our Discord. Let's take a listen. What's up, NICAP fam? I have two questions for you. One, this goes for everybody. Who in your careers or like what player or team when you guys got your schedule, did you look at and say, and circle and say, I don't care what our record is, I want to make sure y 'all get this work, a player or a team or both. And then two, for Ocho, Ocho, if you were playing in the World Cup right now, how would you be able to talk trash to the players and they speak a different language? Like, would you learn to do the language or you just talk the way you've been talking in your career?
52:42Shannon Sharpe:Keep doing what you're doing, guys.
52:46Joe Johnson:Hey, listen, for one, as a trash talker like myself, depending on who we're playing, I'm going to know what word to say based on whatever language of the team players that we're playing. So that'd be easy. And I like that he asked that first question too, Unc. Yes. About, about, about, um, damn. You circled the schedule, who you wanted to. hey hey joe i don't know joe you was probably playing unk unk remember though i think it was the 2005 season joe i looked at the schedule when the schedule came out joe uh-huh i had there they had them eliminate all the db's names the number one corner and the number two corner all from from week one all the way to 16 17 however many weeks it was and at the top of it said, who covered Ocho in 2005?
53:33Joe Johnson:And all they had to do was stop me one time, Joe. You stop me one time in a four quarter game, you get a check mark as you cover me. Joe, and I put it in my locker before the season started and let all them boys know, ain't none of y 'all finna be able to do nothing with me all season long.
53:50Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
53:51Joe Johnson:You know how difficult that shit was every week?
53:54Shannon Sharpe:And you went out there and done it.
53:56Joe Johnson:Man, I went out there and cut a effing fool, Joe. That's that 2005 season where offensively, boy, we might have been, what, maybe offensively ranked number two or three, something like that. Man, Joe, I was out there going crazy, boy. But it was hard, though, because they were trying to knock my head off. Yeah.
54:15Shannon Sharpe:For me, 2005, 2006, when I first got here to Atlanta, I had the Phoenix Suns marked on their damn calendar. I can't watch you. for lowballing me, letting me get up out of there. Yeah, yeah. Hey, Sean Marion, Amari Stoudemire, Steve Nair. I was trying to get them boys at work every time I played against them. Yeah, we ain't win a whole hell of a lot of games playing against them, but I gave them boys hell. You hear me? Yeah, yeah. Me, I looked at, obviously, everybody in our division, you got to get it to them because you're going to see them twice a year. Raiders, we had a Raider week, and then our number one rival was Raiders, then Kansas City, then probably the Chargers, then the Seahawks, but Raider week.
55:02Shannon Sharpe:How do you get them that work? And me, Ocho in the World Cup, this is how you look at somebody. You point to him, you?
55:12Shannon Sharpe:Everybody understand that.
55:13Joe Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah. They understand that. That's a good one.
55:17Shannon Sharpe:That's universal. That's a good one. Let's take a listen to our second one.
55:25I so welcome to the messy show three goals hat trick first game back to defend the title that he will win again that I will rightfully predict and a oh I'm sorry I can't invite you bro you said you're a Ronaldo guy awesome real stuff you know it wasn't even Ronaldo's fault they lost today I feel like with that midfield Juan Neves Vitinha Bruno Fernandes the best midfield in the World Cup they should be better and I think it's all boils down to Martinez. He's not the manager for him. He messed up Belgium's golden air when they had Hazard.
55:54Shannon Sharpe:Kevin De Bruyne, Lukaku, you name it. Courtois on the goal. So I think these next couple games that Portugal is going to play, they are must-win. Let me know what y 'all think. God bless.
56:05Joe Johnson:Ojo, the man
56:07Shannon Sharpe:is a bigger fan of soccer as you.
56:10Joe Johnson:Yeah, yeah. Remember when I told you the first thing, how bad the midfield played?
56:13Shannon Sharpe:Yep.
56:14Joe Johnson:It's the midfield job to be able to create for others. Obviously, I mean, they had the best midfield, I'd probably say, playing in the World Cup, but they weren't able to do anything. Cristiano can only do so much. Obviously, they want him to score, but it's difficult, especially playing the nine. It's not like he's able to take people on 1v1. He's not on the wing like he used to be. No, he's at the nine. So the midfield played horrible.
56:42Joe Johnson:The next two games, they are a must win because it can get ugly. Can you imagine Portugal not making it out of the group stage? they're going to fire that manager. Man. Absolutely. And hold on. Forget the manager. You know who they're going to blame everything on? Ronaldo. Ronaldo.
57:01Shannon Sharpe:The best player I always get to blame. Absolutely.
57:04Joe Johnson:Are he holding us back and all type of stuff?
57:07Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Them country, man. I know, was that Columbia, the guy that missed that kick and they end up? They killed him?
57:15Joe Johnson:Yeah, they don't play, y 'all. You don't understand what that World Cup being like. Was it the Goldie? Because the guy that had the big bush here, was that Valderrama? Yeah, that's Valderrama. It was their own goal. Yeah. Yeah, he had their own goal, I think.
57:32Shannon Sharpe:At this point, Messi is the GOAT, and it's not even close. CR7 has disappeared in national play. He's at this point, Messi is the GOAT, and it's not even close. CRC has disappeared in national play. Who said that? The GOAT 2022. Yeah, that's rude.
57:52Joe Johnson:Okay.
57:53Shannon Sharpe:That's very rude. Went to Houston for Portugal to DR Congo. For my birthday, the atmosphere was electric. Congo fans were outnumbered, but matched the energy 10 to 1. Portugal fans, get out and see a match.
58:11Joe Johnson:Yep, I'm going to Portugal, Colombia, down here, Miami. me.
58:16Shannon Sharpe:Boy, they be all over the place, man. They got these teams playing all over the place. Boy, they took over Atlanta. Oh, yeah. I can imagine. Who play in Atlanta tomorrow?
58:30Joe Johnson:Who play? I'll tell you right now. I got the schedule to save them a phone. Tomorrow we got Mercedes-Benz Stadium. you got is that Czech Republic is that Czech Republic yeah Czechsia Czechsia and South Africa that's who play we got Canada Canada play Qatar and Vancouver and Mexico play Korea and Guadalajara Mexico okay Switzerland play tomorrow too against Bosnia I'm sure I'm gonna be I'm gonna be on the plane do it wait I'm gonna be on the plane for I might
59:20Shannon Sharpe:be able to catch that 12 o 'clock game oh yeah two questions say do you think soccer players are fragile since their bodies bodies aren't callous like NFL players or do or do they not eat enough
59:32Joe Johnson:McDonald's I mean we we get I mean NFL player get get hurt at a far more higher rate than they do in the soccer, the game of soccer for those that have been paying attention to the World Cup as you can see, it's physical as well
59:53Shannon Sharpe:Oh, Ocho, I sold no way. Any other show is as diverse in all sports as you three levels to the game. Hello. We appreciate that. We try our best to be as knowledgeable as we possibly can. And what we don't know, we try to research and investigate and watch it. They got me watching World Cup and I'll probably start watching soccer again in four years in 2030. I ain't been to hold you. And see, I've been to watch these friendlies and all that other stuff because I'm not. I'm going to watch the World Cup and then I'm gone. But we appreciate that, man. That means a lot. Why is I so looking like the fifth member of B2K?
1:00:37Shannon Sharpe:I saw them back in New Orleans when they had just gotten started. As a matter of fact, that was in 2002 in New Orleans. I had an appearance with him. B2K? Yep. Yep. I remember telling my daughter to do what he was. I had no idea. Ocho, what do you think about Olyse from France? He was phenomenal in that game against Senegal.
1:01:09Joe Johnson:Olyse is awesome, man. He's awesome, boy. He's a magician on that ball. He can create, take people on 1v1. He's really, really nice. He's really nice. He's dope. He played for Bayern down in Germany. Bayern Munich? Yeah, he nice, man. He like that? Joe, I'm talking about silky smooth. You know, Olise is like Jamal Crawford, the way he, you know what I mean?
1:01:31Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. That's a comparison.
1:01:34Joe Johnson:Yeah, okay. That's real smooth, no wasted movement. Yeah, he cheeky with it.
1:01:42Shannon Sharpe:Dr. Frank L. Bellamy said, Hey, Unk, I've come to the realization that if the Knicks can end a 53-year drought, then the Cowboys are winning the Super Bowl this year. Hello. Let's go, baby. Let's go.
1:01:58Shannon Sharpe:Hey, I'm going to tell y 'all right now, boy, the Cowboys win. That's why you're not going to win. You see how you talking? See how you talking right there? That's why it ain't going to happen. Nah. Kyle, I'm too excited. Yeah, Joe. Hey, Joe. Hey, Unk, Unk, Unk, Unk, Unk, Unk, Unk, don't put that bad joke on. No, no, no. You put it on yourself. You burned the money. What did that?
1:02:16Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe.
1:02:16Shannon Sharpe:You know when you gambling, you can't touch your money, Joe.
1:02:18Joe Johnson:Hey, simmer down a little bit, Joe. Simmer down a little bit.
1:02:22Shannon Sharpe:Why I got to simmer down? Yes. Hey, I thought the man made a valid point. Hell, the Knicks won. That's Doc. What do you mean? That's our girl, Doc. You ain't never met Doc, but Doc doesn't been to every one of our shows. She came to Vegas. She came to Atlanta. She came to New Orleans. She came to San Francisco. We got a live show. Doc coming. Doc and her husband coming. Okay. Everyone. If she wasn't first, she had to be our second sub. Because some of them like Doc and Laney Ray and J-Dub from Akron, there's been about five or six that when the thing popped up, I saw those names. So that's how I'm able to remember, know them.
1:03:04Shannon Sharpe:But Doc had to be first or second. Yeah. and every year after the Masters they have a tournament down in Myrtle Beach she go she got a picture with my brother she's like hey I know your brother my brother said hey cause I told him I said look a lady named Dr. Frankie she gonna be down there I told her say hello and ever since then but Doc loyal hey chat y 'all been great though I mean we did unbelievable number We started out, I think we had about 1 ,000 people in the chat the first night, Joe. And then we built from there. We went like 2 ,000, 3 ,000, and 5 ,000. And subs, I mean, we went. As a matter of fact, we got, let's see, October, November, December, January, February.
1:03:56Shannon Sharpe:In five months, we had a million subs in five months. Yeah. Working.
1:04:04Shannon Sharpe:What's up, Big Three? Y 'all think the government won't step in if the NFL isn't on regular TV channels and all that streaming? No. Hell no. It's about money. Who won't step in? You do realize the NFL weren't supposed to play any games other than Sunday until the college season ended. That was the agreement that they made. So tell me what games, when the college season is coming on, the NFL come on. What day is other than Sunday? What about Monday? What about Thursday?
1:04:41Shannon Sharpe:NFL greedy.
1:04:46Joe Johnson:They don't think about that bottom line, boy.
1:04:49Shannon Sharpe:Thank you.
1:04:49Joe Johnson:They going to get to it by any means necessary. Step in.
1:04:55Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, they trying to have them boys playing. They realize them owners, they give a little. Hey, you got a presidential library, right? You got something going on, right? 1:08:56Shannon Sharpe:everybody look good when they ain't got no pressure
1:09:01Shannon Sharpe:man they put pressure on that joker that joker fold like fresh laundry
1:09:09Shannon Sharpe:if Ocho and Aiso decided to have a cage match who's winning no rules no weapons fire whatever they want. First off, if you ain't got me winning, something wrong.
1:09:22Joe Johnson:It ain't nothing wrong, Joe. Ain't nothing wrong. People got common sense, Joe. What you mean something wrong? Ocho, you can't see.
1:09:30Shannon Sharpe:Who can't see? You. You. You see Temporo? You see Temporo? How much of a company just hitting it with everything because the eye closed. A fractional orbital, Ocho, and a broken nose. I already knew it I had the same thing Joe ain't Justin Gaethje
1:09:51Joe Johnson:who ain't when it come to me and you just like how Gaethje whooped that boy I tell you what matter of fact I'm so confident Joe I'll let you get the first swing I'll let you hit me first Joe for real he let you get off first Joe that's how confident I am in my hand, Joe. I'll let you hit me first.
1:10:14Shannon Sharpe:Next thing, the only thing you're going to see is a ref laying over top of your hand. Joe, that's what you think, Joe. You're doing this number right here.
1:10:20Joe Johnson:Joe. Hey, Joe, you're going to be in a world of trouble, boy. I'm telling you not, boy.
1:10:28Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey. Oh, Joe, me and you two little, man.
1:10:32Joe Johnson:Joe, it has nothing to do with size, Joe. Yes, it do.
1:10:35Shannon Sharpe:When it come to me and you, it do. Joe, I'm going to jump on you like a spider monkey, Joe. I'm telling you. I'm going to jump on him like a spider monkey, Joe. That's what you think. That's what you think. You going to catch these? Hey, I'll tell you one thing.
1:10:47Joe Johnson:You going to have hell on your hands, huh? Hey, when the last time you got baptized? Don't worry about it. You going to get that. That's what you going to get. Yeah, okay. I'm going to lay your head right in the water.
1:11:01Shannon Sharpe:I want to see you try. I want to see you try. Joe, he might rush in on you, Joe. Oh, Joe. I ain't going to... You know, Ocho used to wrestle, Joe. Man, that man grappling game ain't even like that. Who ain't? Joe. Joe, I'll break your neck, Joe.
1:11:19Joe Johnson:Don't play at me. Man, please. I'll make you tap out, Joe. Man, please.
1:11:25Shannon Sharpe:That ain't happening, Ocho. I'm telling you.
1:11:26Joe Johnson:Which one? Their left knee, huh? Okay, don't worry about it. I got something for you.
1:11:30Shannon Sharpe:Man, you ain't going to even be able to get to it. That's the problem. I'm a leg lock you, Joe. You worried about the wrong thing. You worried about the wrong thing, partner.
1:11:38Joe Johnson:Damn. You ain't got all that old Joe. I got you. Hey, you don't have no combat sports background. I do. Unc, Unc, just set it up.
1:11:48Shannon Sharpe:It could just be me and him. You know what I mean? We're going to have a match and whoever comes out. Yeah.
1:11:55Joe Johnson:There you go. As a matter of fact, you can make it. As a matter of fact, you know what we can do? Put us in the phone booth. Put us in the phone booth. I bet I come up out. I bet I come up out of there.
1:12:05Shannon Sharpe:Man, man, I put that man in the sleeper. he gonna be knocked out in there. Damn. He don't, hey, hey, hey,
1:12:10Joe Johnson:that man don't want, he don't want this, he don't want these problems, man. Joe, you not built, hey, Joe, you not built like that, Joe. I come from, hey, Joe, I come from struggle, boy. You hear me? I come from struggle, Joe. You know what I had to do when you get here? Huh?
1:12:22Shannon Sharpe:Hey, just because you come, just because you come from struggle, don't mean you can't get your ass off. You still get your ass off, I will chew your fucking face off, boy.
1:12:30Joe Johnson:Huh? Okay. Damn, Joe. Yeah. Man, that ain't realistic. Yeah, okay.
1:12:37Shannon Sharpe:Okay, okay, okay, okay. I'm going to show you realistic. We got to say, you know, cage match. Yeah. Whoever comes out. Yeah, get us in the cage. So we ain't got no time limit or nothing. There ain't no rounds. There ain't no time limit. It's just whoever comes out. Hey, hey, hey. When you see me come out, we'll hit a little ass over my shoulder like this. Hey, hey, like in life.
1:12:55Joe Johnson:There you go. Like in life. Hey, put him down, boss. Hey, you know what we should do? Hey, Joe, me and Joe, we should do power slap.
1:13:07Shannon Sharpe:yeah I'm going first cause I be damned you get a shot I'm gonna get a shot
1:13:11Joe Johnson:we gonna do power slap
1:13:13Shannon Sharpe:well I'm gonna knock taste out your mouth you hear me fire yes sir DeAndre 8 in comparison to Nnamdi Asomawa in the NFL he was that boy on the Raiders love this show what do y 'all think about the Steelers season nah he was never as good as Nnamdi Nnamdi at one point was the best corner in the game absolutely no DeAndre 8 was not That's not a comparison. Maybe when he went to Philly, you want to compare it because he was terrible in Philly. And I don't know what that was. Maybe they wouldn't let him play man. I don't know what it was. But he was, with the Raiders, he was phenomenal.
1:13:50Shannon Sharpe:And Aiden made it to the finals, huh? And gave Giannis a 50-piece in a closeout game. Woo! He can't do nothing with Giannis now. And he had a dunk and let Giannis block his lob dunk. Remember that? Yeah. What do you think about the Steelers? What about the Steelers this year? You like DK? Didn't they draft a wide receiver? Absolutely. They were trying to get Lemon, and somebody snuck them, the Eagles. Philly? Philly snuck and got them?
1:14:28Joe Johnson:I mean, you got Aaron Rodgers, man. You got Aaron Rodgers. it's the last dance for him. It is.
1:14:36Shannon Sharpe:He says this is his last year. Obviously, he's going to want to put his best foot forward. Oh, yeah. The question is, defensively, how are they going to be? Hayward is back, healthy. TJ tailed off at the end of the year. Is he healthy? Yeah.
1:14:50Joe Johnson:Jalen, you got Ramsey.
1:14:54Shannon Sharpe:Oh, Bernard. Yeah.
1:15:00Shannon Sharpe:what recommendations would you suggest to improve the wmba product i would love to see 12 minute quarters more minutes more basketball more minutes more advertising more money for the players well look i think they play 44 games i think in 27 they go into 50 and i think by 29 they can go to 52 so you're gonna get more games i think i think i think they play 10 minute quarters i think that's fine. That's 40 minutes in plenty. Yeah, I do too. I do too. And I think as the game grows, I think more advertisers will be a part of it. I think the product is unbelievable. They're playing as good as they have at any level.
1:15:37Shannon Sharpe:There's a lot of parity around the league. So no, I think it's only going to improve. But I wouldn't change it. Honestly, I wouldn't change anything, Joe. You got any recommendations for change, Joe? No, I don't got no recommendations for change. but I know for the ladies, I'm sure that they're happy because more games mean more pay. You know what I mean? And the way the women's game is growing, man, in the next five to seven years, Uncle Ocho, like they're making some good money now. They're making some real money now. Considering the fact that probably the highest paid player last year was at like$300 ,000, now you got them making millions.
1:16:14Shannon Sharpe:No,$244,$245 was the highest. Was it? And so now you got people making a million, million, two? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I mean, so it's a huge jump. You know what I mean? I mean, I think Asia signed, what, a four-year,$5 million deal or something like that. Yeah. I think, what is Asia making, like 1.3, 1.4 a year? Yeah. In Vegas, that's really good because there ain't no state taxes. Yeah, yeah. And think about this. So in another five to seven years, man. Three-year,$5 million, Joe. So she's about 1.675? Yeah. Oh, yeah. So in about five to seven years? 1.66. The girl's going to make some real, real money.
1:16:58Shannon Sharpe:Five years, yeah, I can see somebody getting$2 million, two and a half a year. Yeah, yeah. When it's time to pay Caitlyn? Yeah.
1:17:06Joe Johnson:Oh, yeah. Hey, she's going to set the bar, huh?
1:17:09Shannon Sharpe:No, Olivia Miles is going to set the bar. Because she's going to be smack dab in the middle of it. they got a nice squad and the girl what's her name Napisha Napisha she ain't back yet when she get back yeah they got a nice little squad Fee can defend can score cause before she had that ankle injury she was like the MVP front runner yeah she won she won the Unrival last season one on one one v one like she can play uh What do we got? Ocho, Iso. Who did? Yeah. Olivia Miles balling. She going to be in the running of the MVP. They win? What did Kelsey do? KP.
1:18:09Shannon Sharpe:Olivia Miles going to be in the running for the MVP. I don't know if she can do like what Candace Parker did. Candace Parker won Rookie of the Year and MVP, but Olivia Miles can flat out play.
1:18:19Joe Johnson:That's the one from Notre Dame, huh?
1:18:22Shannon Sharpe:She transferred from Notre Dame to TCU. TCU, yeah, yeah, yeah. You seen her numbers tonight, huh? 12 or 15? Ooh. How many points she had, Joe? 31. 30 points. Damn. Oh, she can ball. She got game. She got wiggle. She got game like a guy. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, she does. That's what I said. She moves like a dude. She twitchy, yes. Yeah, oh yeah. You know who, like Maya Moore? If you look at her game, she got a lot. The one-hand layup, look at her game. Maya Moore had it all. She absolutely could. Oh, Chau, I saw, if y 'all went boar hunting, who's catching the most? Boar? Yeah. I ain't catching nothing I'm killing but me you know
1:19:15Joe Johnson:you know I'm gonna catch
1:19:16Shannon Sharpe:first of all Ocho don't know how to catch hog Ocho has never caught a hog a day in his life he has Ocho he has ISO even though he played for the Razorbacks he don't know nothing about catching a damn hog
1:19:25Joe Johnson:hey just cause you know about it you knew both of y 'all knew about basketball and got everything wrong didn't you
1:19:31Shannon Sharpe:oh here we go
1:19:32Joe Johnson:hey don't worry about it here we go put me in the environment I'm gonna adapt that's all that's all that matters you don't know how to catch you're going to get yourself hurt. Hurt who? You.
1:19:42Shannon Sharpe:That hog, aren't you?
1:19:44Joe Johnson:You don't care about that hog, man. I done been on the back of a PBR bull.
1:19:47Shannon Sharpe:You think I care about a hog? Yeah, you been on his back. You ain't going to be on the back of that. That yo will cut you with them tugs. Hey. First of all, catching a pig, catching hogs, me. Killing hogs, me.
1:20:02Joe Johnson:Nah, nah, nah. I ain't going with none of that. I ain't going with that. I ain't going with that.
1:20:06Shannon Sharpe:Okay. Maybe back here. What kind of rifle you, what you using, Ocho? What you shooting hard with? What, what I'm going to use? Yeah.
1:20:15Joe Johnson:The kind of rifle?
1:20:16Shannon Sharpe:Yes.
1:20:18Joe Johnson:Shoot, probably, um, shoot, I might use a.350 shell, boy.
1:20:25Shannon Sharpe:No. Joe, what you shooting? Probably a little.22. I got a little.22 rifle, yeah. So what you going to do, walk right up on it and shoot him in his head? Yeah, when I catch him in that pin, when I catch him in that little hole. No, we ain't going to be in the hog pit. They'll be out in a while. He going to be free, Joe. You shooting fish in a barrel.
1:20:46Shannon Sharpe:Damn. You missing a two. Let me think about that one. You get a.223, get a.30-06, a.30-30, something like that. A high caliber rifle, Joe. That's what you using? That's what I'm going to use.
1:21:02Joe Johnson:I'm going to use my.357. You use that. First of all, a handgun.
1:21:07Shannon Sharpe:You going bore hunting with a handgun?
1:21:09Joe Johnson:Yeah.
1:21:09Shannon Sharpe:Okay. Good luck.
1:21:13Joe Johnson:I don't need no luck.
1:21:14Shannon Sharpe:I just need to hit the target. You ain't been hit nothing. Oh, I'm going to hit something. I'll shoot a high caliber rifle. Oh, man. But that's okay. I got to see y 'all out there at work. I already know. I've gone hunting. He has never been hunting. He can't hunt nothing. Well, he been two-legged hunting. He pretty good at it. Yeah, yeah. There you go. Hey, two-legged hunting.
1:21:42Joe Johnson:What's that?
1:21:43Shannon Sharpe:Come on now. Come on now. Come on now. Stop playing slow. Yeah. He good at that.
1:21:54Joe Johnson:Hey, listen. I don't hunt no more. I ain't even got no license no more, bro.
1:21:58Shannon Sharpe:Good. Okay. A 308.
1:22:06Shannon Sharpe:Oh, Ocho, start bench cut. Titans, Eddie George running back, Chris Johnson, Derrick Henry. Ooh. Two of the three guys have gone over 2 ,000 yards. Chris Johnson have a 2 ,000-yard season. Derrick Henry have a 2 ,000-yard season.
1:22:23Joe Johnson:Chris Johnson, Derrick Henry, and my dog, man, Eddie George. I got to cut you, man. You my dog, though. But Chris Johnson starting. I'm betting Derrick Henry. Damn. What? I ain't saying nothing. There is no other order. There's only one person in that list that has a 2 ,500-yard season. Okay. Yeah.
1:22:50Shannon Sharpe:When are the podcast Olympics? Boy, that'd be so dope, bro. We and Joe got a heel now. Joe and I, two of the three, are effed up. and our other guy gotta get his eye fixed so we all messed up one guy can't see out of one eye one guy right knee bad the other guy left knee bad we all screwed up so we all on our
1:23:15Joe Johnson:nah I'm good I'm healthy hey my eye my eye been like this in 1994
1:23:22Shannon Sharpe:yeah
1:23:24Joe Johnson:yeah Joe what's the phrase
1:23:25Shannon Sharpe:about don't accept what you do in a win the same with a loss never accept anything in a win you wouldn't in a loss
1:23:36Shannon Sharpe:he gonna write it down so never accept anything in a win you wouldn't in a loss and if you do that good things are gonna happen sometimes we get we just like the end result oh we won and you don't take care of the little things cause little things eventually nothing is ever big everything starts out as little and it gets big nothing starts as a five alarm fire Nothing starts off as a foreign spark. It's just a spark. That you don't get under control, then it spreads. My guys, Ocho versus Prime. Iso picked the quarterback. Unc argues for Prime. Ocho argues for himself. Both in their prime. Ocho, leave humble 85 at home.
1:24:21Shannon Sharpe:We need Liberty City 85. Let the chat decide. So, Iso, you get to pick the quarterback. Ocho versus Prime.
1:24:34Shannon Sharpe:I'm going...
1:24:35Joe Johnson:Who you want the quarterback to be, ISO? The quarterback don't matter because Prime finna get work.
1:24:42Shannon Sharpe:Who I want the quarterback to be?
1:24:47Joe Johnson:We'll give you Carson if you want him. It don't matter who the quarterback is. Hey, Joe, I can tell you something before you answer. It's the only thing the chat don't even know. I'm the only receiver in the history of the NFL that didn't get paid to play receiver. They paid me strictly for my feet.
1:25:08Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I'm going to give you your boy. I'm going to give you your boy, Joe Burrow. I'm going to give you Burrow. Yeah. He's going to put it right there on the 85. Hey, Joe, honestly, I create so much separation.
1:25:18Joe Johnson:It don't matter who the quarterback is. You could be out there. You don't create separation from who? Prime. Boy, look here. I'm going to create separation from anybody. Mm-mm. You can say, uh-uh, all you want. You can say, uh-uh, all you want.
1:25:35Shannon Sharpe:Let me tell you why you're not going to get no separation. Because Ty know you can't run by him. And once he knows you can't run by him, he's sitting on everything.
1:25:47Joe Johnson:You know I watch film, right? I done watch Prime my whole career. Yes. I done seen people run by Prime, but I done seen Prime get beat. By receivers that are nothing like me getting off the line.
1:25:56Shannon Sharpe:Mm-mm. Nah. I don't see it okay.
1:26:00Joe Johnson:I give you three catches for 26 yards. Man, child, please. How many catches?
1:26:06Shannon Sharpe:For 26 yards?
1:26:08Joe Johnson:Hey, Prime couldn't stop me with eight toes or ten. That's my dude. We got to get Prime on here again soon, man. All right.
1:26:19Shannon Sharpe:Man, you know times like Ocho. That back foot. Get that back foot straight. Hey, ISO, don't get too excited about those bingos. They got us come through Steelers first.
1:26:33Joe Johnson:Who? Come through who?
1:26:36Shannon Sharpe:The Steelers.
1:26:38Joe Johnson:Man, child, please, man.
1:26:42Shannon Sharpe:You got a point, Ocho. Not really. My man say, I ain't one of those 81 Chevys sitting on blocks in the front yard. No motor. Oh, man. Come on, man. I agree. What's up, Ocho Aiso? It's my 32nd birthday, and I'm bringing it in with a back injury, shaking my head. Nonetheless, I'm grateful to see another year. Love the show. Appreciate you guys. Well, happy birthday, Roger. Appreciate that. Speedy recovery. You know, a little friendly hunch to get that back right. Hey, hey, hey. And the older you get, boy, the harder you got to work. Hey.
1:27:20Joe Johnson:You got to work smarter, not harder. Yeah.
1:27:23Shannon Sharpe:Boy, that back, boy That back ain't nothing to play with It ain't, boy I ain't let to play with That thing how you laid up Yes, sir I know a dude that lost his vision In a firecracker incident He can't see, but he can still Spark He still has that spark in his eyes There y 'all go Oh, so y 'all
1:27:56Shannon Sharpe:What happened, Ojo?
1:28:00Joe Johnson:Y 'all got the jokes flying already, huh? Nah, that Chad said that. I mean, Ojo and I ain't saying nothing. Oh, you didn't make that up? No. That's what he got saying. Somebody really said that? Yes. Oh, so they Johnson? Okay. Okay, bet. Okay, bet. Let me get they IP address.

1:28:40Joe Johnson:Who's Ice Trey? Trey Young.
1:28:43Shannon Sharpe:Trey Young. As of right now? Yeah. Yeah, he's a better guard, yeah.
1:28:53Shannon Sharpe:his body, he's just more physical. He can play through contact instead of the three. Yep, yep, yep. Damn, Ocho. Ray hit you so hard, you went cock-eyed? See?
1:29:08Joe Johnson:His timing all wrong, so that's not a good one.
