In short
Nightcap Hour 3 is a sports-and-life talk episode mixing Lakers/LeBron playoff discussion, internet/roast commentary, and a Q&A about fatherhood while traveling for work. It also includes long comedic banter (food, tattoos/ear piercing, sexual jokes, and pool-hall/music talk).
Guests (as referenced in the episode)
Mikey Day and Streeter Seidel (SNL performer and head writer) are mentioned in an intro segment about helping an acapella group with between-song banter at retirement homes. The main host/participants are “Nightcap Bros” personalities including Ocho and Joe (their identities are not fully specified in the transcript). Timbo is mentioned as the Sports Slice host in an ad read.
Key claims
- Lakers: Austin Reaves should be kept; Luka and Reaves are both defensively challenged, so the team needs “dogs” for dirty work in clutch time.
- Playoffs: Wolves got lucky in games 1 and 4; the series should have ended sooner, and Wemby wasn’t playing.
- Roasts: roasting is “no hold barred,” and jokes can cost jobs when they target sensitive real-world events.
Notable examples
- “Clutch time” defensive mismatch concerns.
- Kevin Hart roast clips and discussion of overboard jokes (George Floyd joke cited as unnecessary).
- Father advice: be present when you promise; kids remember; explain travel job realities; miss some events but communicate and make sacrifices.

2:47Shannon Sharpe:All right. Time to play Q &A. Q and A
3:02Shannon Sharpe:Before we get to our super chats We got two video voicemails From our discord Let's take a listen
3:11Ocho Iso What up with y 'all boys man What up with the big three What up nightcap family Yo I just got a quick thing for Ocho I just want to say I appreciate you bro I appreciate your love for a glizzy. You know I'm saying I recently just got back into eating glizzies because of you bro You saw openly Willing to eat a glizzy and share that you eat glizzy. So now I'm kind of like that. You know I'm saying I love a mean glizzy bro. Like I put my girl on glizzies, bro So I just appreciate your love and your passion for glizzies. Hell I'm on work lunch right now God glizzy. You know I'm saying already.
3:45You know I'm saying appreciate you don't trust your show bro. Love bro Hey, you know what? I appreciate that. I appreciate that. Not, not being, not being scared to, to publicly eat glizzies like myself. Anytime I go to a sporting event, I don't care what it is. I'm getting two glizzies. I don't use condiments. I don't use condiments and the fact that you're brave enough like myself, not to care what anybody else has to say about glizzies.
4:09Shannon Sharpe:I don't believe you use condoms either, but go ahead. We get you. Huh? Anything that got condo, condiments, condo. Where we get you, Porto Cho? Yeah. yeah hey hey hey joe hey joe you eat glizzies no i don't eat glizzy but uh ocho they got some they got i heard they got some mean glizzes down there in miami with like some caviar on it or something like a hundred dollar glizz you know i ain't with see i ain't with that fancy oh you don't get out like that nah joe i like regular hot dogs you know like you go to new york you know and look the little carts on the street yeah yeah joe sporting event you know football game soccer game yeah yeah i don't do that fancy stuff caviar just just pause just bread and the meat that's it yeah bread and dog bread and dog joe that's it right and you gotta hold up you gotta squish it joe you gotta squish the bread together yeah before you eat it yeah like i used to do my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches like that yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah lord have mercy what happened huh you don't eat glizzies though no i hadn't had i i'm gonna be dog i had a hebrew national it's probably at my uh probably 2003.
5:24Shannon Sharpe:oh yeah 20 plus years but it was it was a hebrew national because i had a had a a bird had a cookout birthday party um back in back in uh in glenville back in it because the last year i think i had it was because i retired so 2004. so i don't know if i had one in four or three but it's been over 20 years Somebody in the chat say they go to quick trip Damn So hey But I remember Joe They used to have them in that warmer They had them hot dogs and them buns be nice and warm Yeah hey You going there at the wrong time when you hungry as hell You'll be walking up out of that water cup And you get two or three of them
6:10Shannon Sharpe:Alright here's our second one Yo what up nightcap gang What up, Unk? What up, Ocho? What up, Iso? Hey, man, I just want to start off by saying I'm a big fan of the show, man. I appreciate what y 'all been doing. I've been rocking with y 'all since day one, so keep doing y 'all thing. But, Unk, man, I got a question, bruh. What are we going to do about Austin Reeves, bruh? I swear I feel like every time we need him in the playoffs, such and such hurt, we need him to have a big game, he just don't show up, man. So what do you think they should do? You think they should build around him or try to package him up and send him off for somebody a little bit more consistent?
6:38I'm curious on your thoughts. But other than that, man, keep rocking, keep doing y 'all thing, man. I hope y 'all keep Iso on the show. I'm a big fan of what he brought to the show. You know what I'm saying? His basketball takes, even his football takes be like that. So I hope y 'all keep him on the show because I really want to see his face. My Ravens go into Dallas and whoop the Cowboys in a couple months. So if y 'all could do that for me, I would appreciate y 'all. But other than that, man, keep rocking. Keep doing y 'all thing. I'll see y 'all on the show tonight. Peace.
7:02Shannon Sharpe:Well, if the reports ought to believe Ocho and Joe, Luke has made it very clear. He wants to play with Austin Reeves, and he doesn't want him to be packaged for any other superstar. Yeah. Now, the last thing that you want to do is to kick off a superstar because you got to have one in Los Angeles. You got to have one with the Lakers. You just do. And I want to try to keep him as happy as I possibly can. The thing is, is that he's defensively challenged. So is Luka. And if you go back and study, I don't know when we've ever seen a backcourt that was defensively challenged win a championship. Now, Chad, maybe y 'all can go back further than I can.
7:43But I can't recall one. Hey, you just got to find a way to put some dogs with them. I think with Luka, even when you watch them play, their chemistry is so great offensively. They both have high IQs. Yes, I agree. Who can really score the basketball and get in them cracks. You know, they really can play. But they are a bit challenged on the defensive side of the ball. So you got to have some guys, bro, who don't mind taking the challenge and doing the dirty work that, you know, a lot of these other guys don't want to do.
8:13Shannon Sharpe:But the problem that you're going to run into, Joe, in the last five minutes of the game, what the NBA consider clutch time, they calling them out. Oh, yeah. They don't do that. If you go back and go watch the game, and I know Austin, like I said, I know J.J. wanted to pair Austin Reeves and – what's his name? The left-handed guy. Luke Kennard. Yeah. I know he wanted to pair them offensively because it gives you great space on the floor. But the problem is – come here. Yeah, Red Rover, Red Rover. No, Chad. No. Yeah. Whoever Kennard is guarding, whoever is Reeves is guarding, that's who I want.
8:59Shannon Sharpe:I got to have that. It's hard. It is hard because you can – in the playoffs a lot of times, if you see how the Thunder executed in those situations, they got every look that they wanted, and they prohibit you from getting the looks that you want. Yep. So that's – I like – I think Austin Reeves has been – his maturation and his growth to see an undrafted free agent. He was going to make the all-star. If he didn't get hurt, he's making the all-star team, Joe. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I agree. He's a phenomenal offensive talent. You know, yeah, the turnovers hurt us last night. Sometimes I'm like, bro, why you try to split it to double team?
9:53Shannon Sharpe:Because you try to split it, the ball's going the other way because there's nobody there. Right. So now that's an easy, that's an easy, you know, that's a pickup, throw out, lead to an easy layup.
10:07Shannon Sharpe:TS Carwise Detailed Service. Y 'all hear about CB album. Did y 'all see the Kevin Hart roast? Yeah, Kevin. I've seen his own movie. I've seen him. Chris Brown dropped, he dropped an album, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, he did. I haven't heard it, you know, hey, bro. I know he has a song with Leon Thomas. I think it's Leon Thomas. Yeah, I think Leon Thomas, Real Soulful. I think it might have been a single. I heard that one. I enjoyed that one. As far as Twitter goes, obviously Twitter's going to always have their own opinion on things. And obviously they say they don't like it. It sounds like all these other songs.
10:47They say he makes too many songs. He needs to shorten this playlist or whatever it may be. but I'm gonna take a listen to it for myself. Cause he got about 23, 24 songs on that. Every time you make an album, it's 20 something songs. Yeah, bro, cut that down. That's another album. Yeah, oh yeah, but you'll find you some gems in there, some ones that you really like.
11:08Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Oh yeah, yeah, when I sat down with him and to see his house and to see, he was great. Yeah. He was great, man, and I appreciate, always, as always, I appreciate the time when guys sit down and he reached out and like, oh, let's do it. Let's sit down and talk. I was like, man, is this for real? Let me go see if this ain't got a blue check mark.
11:35Yes, I haven't
11:37Shannon Sharpe:watched it. I see bits and pieces of it. Me too. Take care of your heart. Ocho, help me if I'm wrong. Yeah, talk to me. but I thought a roast is like it's the Kevin Hart roast right they spent a lot of time roasting people that wasn't Kevin Hart oh I think they matter of fact this is the thing when it comes to roasting I don't know anybody in the chat you guys might not be old enough but um I've watched every Dean Martin roast there is so most of the time let's say Dean Martin roast and that night it was let's say it was Frank Sinatra yeah they roast Frank Sinatra right and everybody else that came to roast Frank Sinatra.
12:15So everybody get it. Yeah. Not just the person getting roasted. So I mean, I'm assuming they're still following the same format.
12:25Shannon Sharpe:I think they spent too much time. And some of the stuff, I mean, look, I believe you can roast someone, but I think sometimes they go overboard with it. Oh, hey, when it's a roast, it's no hold barred. No hold barred when it comes to a roast, especially those that are in attendance. everybody getting it. If it's something you're saying something about somebody else because I know a lot of people lost their job. There was someone that got killed earlier in September. Yes. And that people said and the people said things online. They lost their jobs. Yeah. Yeah. They got the thing deactivated. Yeah.
13:00Shannon Sharpe:So this notion that you know, no, no, no. It goes if you say it about something that we don't really care about. Right. So we got to, you know, hey, like this guy online and Chuck the builder. Yeah. He going around saying stuff, but he gonna catch the right person on the wrong day. Right. He gonna get what he looking for. Yeah. Yeah. He gonna get what he looking for.
13:27Shannon Sharpe:He gonna get it. But they know exactly what to say. What word to say. Yeah. Like I said, I look, the George Floyd joke, I didn't think that was necessary. See, I ain't see all that. I ain't see that. I ain't watching Kevin Hart roast. I seen clips. Yeah, that's me. We were on. We were on. Oh, during it? Yeah. Okay, okay, okay. So.
14:01Shannon Sharpe:But I tell you what, if somebody have a roast for Stephen A., I got something for him. You got something for him? What? A boy, do I? I hope he'll be like the Joker. Oh, we got a live one here.
14:18Shannon Sharpe:Well, do I? He already know. I already know he gonna call me. I've been waiting for this moment.
14:28Shannon Sharpe:I've been waiting for this moment. Steve Martin. Hey, watching Isil and Beasley ball out in the big three, realistic, could they? And Dwight Howard have helped the Lakers in this past series. Hold on. what he's saying he's saying if if you and my company and dwight howard could y 'all have realistically helped the lakers in this series no no not not with this league right i couldn't have done no i ain't gonna lie and say i couldn't have done nothing now dwight now dwight and beasley probably could have but no you i couldn't i couldn't have done nothing for him i'm glad you said that joe yeah i'm just being i'm just being hey uh he definitely setting up for excuses when i'm when i'm when i when i oh he said i'm sitting there trapped baby i'm saying i'll say that trap well you see me wait when they see me on your ass they're gonna be like oh he He can get out there right now.
15:25Yeah.
15:30Shannon Sharpe:Jose, he just laid that trap for you. Man, this series should have been over. Wolves got lucky in games one and four. What? They did get lucky in here. I'm glad they're over, man. We need this. We do need it, but they got lucky here. Wimby wasn't playing. They definitely got lucky game four. because it's just hard for me to believe that they lose this series, Wimby, in this game. And they took them down to the last two minutes of the game, Joe. Yeah. Without Wimby. Yeah. Yeah. Let's go, T-Wolves, man. Last night, a blown call changed the game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
16:12That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. This is Clifford Taylor IV. And on my podcast, The Clifford Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker whops up to me. He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue, 42.
17:17Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Rhett, my mama wants you to wave at her. What?
17:23Where's she at? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to The Clifford Show on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jared O'Donnell. You might know me as that loud guy who yells out, help, on the internet. Help! Somebody, please! But there's so much more to me than that. I'm an actor. I'm a comedian. And recently, I've become quite the helper myself. And on my new podcast, Hope from a Hypocrite, I'll be changing lives, helping people in need with my sage advice and thoughtful solutions. Psych! And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast, Point Game, is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. and finding ways to win no matter what.
18:45He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luka and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed. He has to guard Julius Randle. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history, too. Steve Nash would get that thing.
19:19That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers while he got the ball. Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. 20:37Let's get into a game seven.
20:40Shannon Sharpe:He's a game seven. I sure could use a game seven. I definitely could use a game seven. Kevin, non-delusional cowboy fan. Hey, my question for Nightcap Bros. How in the hell do you handle your mental health? Also, how do you overcome the darkest battles without giving up? Because my desire to continue is greater than my desire to give up. Hello. That's it. Because all I need is like a handful of people that believe in me. And I know I got a handful of people that believe in me. There you go. There you go. I cannot. I made my grandmother was on her deathbed and I say, I got it.
21:20Shannon Sharpe:I got to go get it. That's it? Yeah, it gets tough, look. And I understand a fragile person and you having the bullying in school or being bullying online. I get it. Yeah, we and Joe will ride this out together. Yeah, yeah. We and Joe and this one together. Because our damn show ain't sucking no toes now. Hey, hey, hey, hey, Joe, listen to me. I rub them though. I rub them on the jar and the counter. Joe, listen to me, Joe. If I go to Sam's Club, that they on the job, a convenience store, and they on the counter. Yeah. I'm gonna get them tongs and that wax paper and I'm gonna pull them out.
22:34Shannon Sharpe:But other than that, ain't nobody told to go in my mouth, man. Hey, let me tell you, let me tell you what to do, huh? What you doing? Hey, go to the gas station, get that dollar bag of ice, take it home, get you that hammer, and crush that ice up. Yeah. Put it in a red solo cup, you hear me? Yeah. yeah put that ice in your mouth huh you start with the pinky toe start with the pinky toe and work your weight like a harmonica huh do the feet like a harmonica okay okay and at some point put the whole foot in your mouth well that's why you number one I'm telling you boy that's exactly where you're in I tell you no lie damn yeah yeah I got it I I got a few more tricks for you, boy.
23:25Shannon Sharpe:That ain't happening.
23:30Shannon Sharpe:No, absolutely not. Look, Ocho, I get it. You know, but look, behind closed doors, it's all sex. Yeah, yeah. Nobody knows where the nose goes when the doors close, Joe. Come on now. I get all of that, but I just can't get a conscious lick with myself. That might be Kevin, that might be what push me over. I had some toes in my mouth. Hey, you'll never know what it feel like. I'm good. I won't. Some things ain't meant to be experienced. Especially by O'Shea. You gotta try it, man. Nah, I can't do that. Alright, well at least get the swing then. I told you. Last swing I was in was in elementary school.
24:23Shannon Sharpe:No, I'm good.
24:28Shannon Sharpe:I tell you what. If Joe tried and come back to me, I'm going to say, I'm going to try it. Try what? Try what? On them toes? Nah, nah. If Joe get on them toes? Hey, Joe. If they're good enough, if they're toes good enough for Joe, knowing Joe's an old country boy like myself, and he a little younger than me. I said, okay, you know what Joe said. Hey, now hold up. Now my lady got some pretty feet. I told her she might need to start her OnlyFans for a feet now. Hey, hey, hey, Joe. Hey. I'll get laughing. I'll get laughing over there. Hey, Joe. They say, hey, OnlyFans, OnlyFans, B-Dollar industry, baby, gonna throw them feet over there.
25:03We'll be all right. Hey, you know, I got the OnlyFans too, now. Do you? Yeah. You been on that playground? I done had an OnlyFan for about three years now. You be on there cutting up? Nah, it's my feet. It's for my feet. Man, come on, boy Joe.
25:21Shannon Sharpe:Lord have mercy. I'm just telling you. People tell me you eat pig feet. Pig feet are made to eat. That's food. I don't know what y 'all don't get. Yo, you eat raccoon, you ate... I had to, I didn't really have a choice. I would prefer baby back ribs. I really would have preferred a Wagyu or some chicken, but that wasn't available, so I took what was available. Yeah. Y 'all make it seem like when I was growing up on you, they make it seem like I had a choice. Like Granny said, okay, baby, what you want today? You want the steak? You want the fish? Or you want the turtle, the raccoon, the squirrel, the rabbit?
26:03You ate whatever hell they cooked.
26:05Shannon Sharpe:I didn't have a choice. It's not like we go to the grocery store now And you know, you got chicken, you know, okay, chicken. You got drumsticks. You got short thighs. You got breasts. Oh, you know what? Hey, you know what I think? I got a taste for some salmon tonight. Yeah. Yeah. Nah, nah. No, you know what? These Cornish hens, they really cheap. They look good. Mm. Okay. Yeah. Y 'all don't understand. That wasn't an option. My grandmother never, I've never, I've never heard in all my life growing up. until I got grown within a relationship. My grandmother never asked, baby, what y 'all want for dinner tonight?
26:45Right.
26:46Shannon Sharpe:Whatever she sat on the table, that's what we ate. That's what you eat. And we like, I don't want no tomatoes and rice. She said, do like the people across the river. Do without. Yeah. And walk up out the kitchen. Yeah. Because I'd hate, to this day, I don't like tomatoes. I don't like squash. I don't like okra. Damn. You don't like okra? Hey, I don't like okra. or okra, zucchini, okra, zucchini, and squash. I can't do it. Man, y 'all are tripping now. No, hell no. And hate to cut, I don't know, have you ever cut okra, Joe? Yeah, I know the real okra you talking about, yeah. Yeah, cause you have to wear sleeves because it'll make you whip up.
27:30Oh, you talking about out there in them fields?
27:32Shannon Sharpe:In the fields, yeah, yeah, yeah. I cut okra before. old people say boy I'm gonna tell your ass up you're gonna whip like okra cause if you go out there with the fields with no sleeves on watch them whips like somebody tell your ass up yeah but guys I didn't have no choice I got a choice in the matter I get it to each his own some people freak it like that some people golden showers and Ocho like the swings and hanging off the bed. I saw this thing they got on TikTok where the girl put a pillow down and she on the couch and she layin' back and got the lip. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Did you purchase it?
28:15Shannon Sharpe:I said, hey, I said, hey, you can do that?
28:24Yeah, come on now.
28:25Shannon Sharpe:Y 'all doin' too much. You gotta live a little bit, man. man. Ocho, I'm living. That ain't living Ocho, man. Come on now. I mean, you just, hey, just text again. Tell her, tell her give you that on a palm one time. Give who? Give that on a palm one time. Come on. You gonna enjoy it, I'm telling you. Whoa, whoa. Ocho, we gotta draw the lines now. Oh, he ain't got no lines. He don't draw no lines. He don't draw none. Man, I'm just trying to get you to experience things you never had before, man.
29:02All right, Joe, you try to honor Palmer, Joe. Nah, we good over here, we good. All right, all right, don't worry about it. But you, bro, go ahead, go ahead, Joe, go ahead. Unless he talking about that tea and lemonade, you talking about the tea and lemonade, honor Palmer? I mean, if that's what you want it to be, it can be that. Okay, all right. You can pretend it's that.
29:24Shannon Sharpe:That joker don't color between no lines. But Kevin, the biggest key is to not give up. You put one foot in front of the other. And just remember, sunshine follows rain. Even though the Bible says it rained 40 days and 40 nights, on the 41st day, what happened?
29:51Shannon Sharpe:That's how you got to look at it, bro. I ain't giving up. because I look at it like this. As hard as it's been the last couple of years, think about the first 20 years of your life. Joe, think about where you came from. Oh, Joe, think about where you came from. Yes, sir. Now, you mean to tell me I'm going to be deterred, I'm going to feel defeated after a year, after two years, and I spent the first 20 years? Oh, no, man. Oh, no. No. No. give me the top five Johnny Taylor song big three who's making love to your old lady ain't that Johnny Taylor hold on these last two dollars these last two dollars I'm not gonna lose y 'all know that these last two dollars one going for the bus fare last two dollars
30:57Let me look.
30:59Shannon Sharpe:Disco lady. Move it in, move it out. Move it in. Disco lady. You with it? Yeah. Y 'all don't know about no Johnny Taylor. Hey, they should play that Johnny Taylor in the pool hall back in the day when I used to be in the pool hall. Yeah. They probably still do. I admit to a... We call them juke joints. Yeah. Juke joints. What you know about that? Hey, they got a real talk door. They got some nice. They got a nice pool hall that I go to out here in Georgia. It's called Mr. Q. Oh, do you? Oh, man. It's old school, too. It give you that feel, that vibe. You know, they got the jukebox in there so you can put whatever music on.
31:37It's up to date. Yeah. They got about 50 pool tables and they be going down in that thing. Why?
31:43Shannon Sharpe:Move it in, move it out. Move it in, it's out. Disco lady. that.
31:51I told y 'all, man, I'm a real pool shooter. I know y 'all just out here talking. Oh, man. We gonna learn. We gonna learn. Hey, Nightcap fam, my question for tonight. We go straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear, the laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight reel.
32:31From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports Slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And for more, follow Timbo Slice Life 12 and the TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. What's up, guys? This is Clifford Taylor IV, and on my podcast, The Clifford Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff, like being an internet famous referee.
33:03We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me. He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Look! Quarterback on office blue, 42!
33:17Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Rhett, my mama wants you to wave at her. What?
33:22Where's she at? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to The Clifford Show on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jared O'Donnell. You might know me as that loud guy who yells out, help, on the internet. Help! Somebody! Please! But there's so much more to me than that. I'm an actor, I'm a comedian, and recently I've become quite the helper myself. And on my new podcast, Hope from a Hypocrite, I'll be changing lives. Helping people in need with my sage advice and thoughtful solutions. Psych! I'm a comedian! I'm not qualified to give good advice! Join me and my comedian friends as we riff, rant, and recommend some of the most legally dubious advice known to man.
34:08If I'm calling you, even if you're on your phone, let it ring twice. One ring is too scary. Cream of chicken soup. Hey, cream. Cream of chicken soup. This is Help From a Hypocrite, the worst advice from the dumbest people you know. Listen to Help From a Hypocrite as part of the My Cultura Podcast Network, available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luka and Austin Reeves. And finding ways to win no matter what.
34:44He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luka and Austin Reeves, I gotta manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's gonna be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed. He has to guard Julius Randle. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on a night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that thing.
35:18That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers while he got the ball. Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Oh, yeah. Get your ass up and down the court, and you gonna get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
36:01get hard seltzer instead of beer. Oh, they had a bogo. Well, then you got it. Do you want a White Claw or something? Here, just take it. Oh, what are y 'all doing? Microphones? Are you making a rap album? Oh, I would. Could you imagine? I would buy it. Cuts through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake. That sounds delicious. Oh, you're lucky I'm not a drug addict. You're lucky I'm not an alcoholic. You're lucky I'm not a killer. I love this team, and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on. Oh.
36:35Listen to Soccer Moms on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
36:41Shannon Sharpe:What feels worse, accidentally scoring in your own basket or getting a safety? What's worse, Joe? I mean, hell, I ain't never played football, but scoring in your own basket, hell, that's pretty bad. Yeah, and it can happen easily by just tipping the ball, trying to, you know what I mean? Yeah, you try to grab a rebound and you're getting them go up in the day. That's happened. Now, what Jim Marshall did was embarrassing. He scooped up a fumble and he ran the wrong way. So instead of giving his team, and he wondered why nobody didn't try to tackle it. Like, yeah, you good. And then he scored, he throws the ball up, and the guy from the other team come and hug him and say, thank you.
37:33Shannon Sharpe:So, I mean, there's a lot have to go into it if you score a safety for the other team. Because like Joe said, I'm going for a rebound. I'm trying to get the rebound of my hand, hit it, tip it up, it could go in. Yeah. But to get a safety? Yeah.
37:54Shannon Sharpe:What's up, y 'all? How old were you when you got your first tattoo and how much do you think you would have spent altogether? Unk, why you never got any ink? Love. Joe, how old were you when you got your first tattoo? Boy, I was in the NBA. I was 22. Damn, how old was I when I got my first tattoo? That's a good question. Hey. My first tattoo was my daughter's name, too. It was J 'Kyra. So you was in the league or you was in college? Nah, boy, hey, shoot. i'm i might as a she's 28 20 27 now okay no she's 28 28. yeah i might have been in high school boy hey oh she's 27. if she's 27 28 ocho she's born in 98.
38:47then i got it my my sophomore year in college then yeah I must have been at Santa Monica God that was that long ago yeah if you said 98
39:00Shannon Sharpe:God damn I'm old man 18 so if you do 98 to 08 that's 10 08 to 18 that's 20 18 to 6 that's 8 that's 28 hey boy time moving fast huh Man, I've only wanted one tattoo. I thought about getting my grandmother's name. And my sister found something where she actually wrote her name, Mary B. Porter. And I tore the page out. And I just remember her saying, boy, she hated tattoos. She said, son, don't mark your body up. Yeah. And I thought about it. I said, you know what? As much as an honor it would be, she would be so disappointed. She'd be so disappointed. And I couldn't do it, Joe. I couldn't, because all I could do, I just know my granny, and I know she said, son, why you mark your body up?
39:58Hey, look, my grandma was saying, I made sure I could take care of my damn self before I started getting tattooed, damn that. That's why I tell you, I was in the NBA when I got mine. I was already like two, three years in. Yeah, I made, you know, shit.
40:13Shannon Sharpe:But my sister got, I think my sister got a rose on her ankle or something. My kids got them. yeah you know got when did they get them did they get them early oh no no no no no no no no no no no no my son got them he was in college my daughter tried to sneak and get one I met a old Lord Joe oh Joe tell your story a man look here she don't go get a tattoo I don't know chat what does Rihanna have on her rib cage so because whatever Rihanna got written on her rib cage Kayla wouldn't got that I told her and she's like that I want to get a tattoo I said baby you can get a tattoo one year Once you get in college, get a tattoo.
40:51Shannon Sharpe:Man, she couldn't wait. Yeah. Man, I saw that, hey, she had that, because I guess there's some cream that helps with the healing process. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I didn't know what it was. I just saw the box, and my girlfriend's like, what is this? I said, I don't know what that is. Some of Kayla's stuff. She's like, do you know what it is? I said no I don't know what it is I'm getting annoyed I'm sorry Chad I get annoyed easy okay is it yours no it's not you know what it is no I don't you shoot
41:35Shannon Sharpe:so I said no she said it's tattoo it's something to heal up the healing of the tattoo I said well I ain't got no damn tattoo she said well you looking at me I ain't got one boy like my grandma used to say boy hell flew all through me
41:57Caleb
42:01Shannon Sharpe:sir bring you this down here

42:09Shannon Sharpe:I say bring you down here so she come down there with a bra and panties on cause I already I already know she gonna try to. Cover it up. She walking like she a mummy.
42:24I say Kayla, you got a tattoo?
42:31Shannon Sharpe:Normally, if you ain't gonna try to lie, you gonna say yes or no. See, if you say huh, what did you say? You trying to think of a lie. Yeah, yeah.
42:47Shannon Sharpe:Come a little closer. You can tell my daddy I can hear you cuz she already know I wanna bust hell out. Yeah.
42:58I said turn to the side Kayla cuz I can kinda see the little remnants of it like okay.
43:06Shannon Sharpe:I said Kayla turn to the side. Okay.
43:14Shannon Sharpe:It's okay. So now I gotta drive to school because I drove to school every morning. Yeah. Every morning I drove Kayla to school and picked her up. So I was, you know, I was, hey, I was, you know, one of them dads waiting carpool line. Yeah. Ooh, ooh, ooh, Kayla, your daddy. Don't disrespect me. I don't say nothing about your dad. Don't be talking about my dad. So I said, Kayla, you ain't got but another three months at school. You couldn't wait three months. but I'm gritting my teeth when I say it. Yeah. I say, you know you're going to get another poppy. How? Tattoo removal. Come on. Find a place.
44:00Shannon Sharpe:I say, hey. I asked Shelly, you know, that's where Shelly come in at. As a matter of fact, there's a place right up the street. I say, really? How far is it? She said, it's probably like 15 minutes. book us about eight appointments.
44:18Shannon Sharpe:Every week. Oh, you for real? I took her up there every week. So I right there, she's screaming cause that thing burning. Yeah, yeah. I smell the flesh burning.
44:33Shannon Sharpe:Daddy, daddy, daddy. Whoa! You ain't called daddy. Right. When you ain't got that tattoo with that man would put that in your right right you ain't say no i bet you ain't say daddy one time now you want daddy nah no can do

Get you a place. I say, no, I'll get you a place. You know, she's like, well, I want to go. I say, you really need to kind of like go off. Because I know you, Kayla. You're going to want to come in. You want to think, well, I'm grown. You say once I graduated high school, I was grown. And you're going to want to come in anytime you want to. Yeah. That ain't happening. Right.
45:29Shannon Sharpe:Facts. That ain't going to happen. Facts. I'm the same way. Nobody have sex here but me. You gonna think you could have sex and have somebody? Oh, no. I said, okay, don't make me hurt somebody. I said, you need to go, hey, if you want to go to Georgia Southern with your brother, because he was already in school. He started early. Got it. Well, me and Key, I said, no. Why you think Key want to? I said, you having sex. He having sex. Right. I said, you think he can come in and you in the room and you and your guy doing what you doing and he going to be okay with that? You know how that boy is about you.
46:08Right.
46:10Shannon Sharpe:No.
46:13Shannon Sharpe:No. But, Joe, I get real irritable. Man, me and Buck, I tell you what. Man, me and Buck, I almost fell out with Buck. We in college. We weren't close like we was now. So, I'm sitting in my locker. His locker right by mine. Hey, hey, Sharp, you hear what happened? I was like, no, what happened? You ain't here? I said, no, no, I ain't here. What happened? Man, ain't nobody. So now? I said, man, I told you. Ain't nobody told me. I don't know what happened. What happened? Man, I can't believe you ain't here. You sure ain't nobody that told you?
46:54Shannon Sharpe:I said, Bucky. I said, because at the time, his name was Fuzz. Everybody called him Fuzz. I said, Fuzz, bro, I don't know what happened. I said I've been down here in my locker he say man man you sure I said man I don't even want to hear man go ahead he said man old boy caught his girl with somebody else in the dorm uh oh I said what what he said yeah man it's a big old thing going on down there I said man I said, ooh, Sharp. I said, oh, did he? You know me. And you know me. Don't tell me that. I don't need to know that. You on the team? Yeah. And somebody did that? So you know me. I go to him.
47:50Shannon Sharpe:I said, well, damn. You that old boy hit him on the team. You let him get it, let me get some. Oh, man, come on, Sharp, come on. I said, whoa, whoa, whoa. Now you want to fight me. I ain't even do it. He did it, you ain't fight him. Whoa, whoa, slow down. So you know me, ain't a whole lot of people in the locker. So you know what I'm gonna do, I gotta wait till we get to stretching. Cause everybody there. Yeah. I said, well go on door. I said, you might want to turn your boy on. He get up out of line. He get out, cause he in the back. Cause you know, I'm the captain. And then you know he start us and go all the way back to the back.
48:30Shannon Sharpe:So he in the back. He get up out the back and walk up and he standing up over me. I said, boy, if you don't get your ass back in line, I said, I tell you what, I bet you if I stand up, this ish ain't gonna be pretty, bro. Go on and walk it off. Because you let that man do all that, but now you want to try to tussle with me? Man, let that go. Nah, I can't let it go. I'ma let it go once we done got all our laughs in. Boy, hey, anytime that, hey, what's up? Boy here? Oh man, come on, man. Man, you know, Joe, Ocho, you know, you can't let us find out anything. Especially nothing like that. No siree.
49:22Especially nothing like that. No siree. Hey, boy, hey, that's cut though. the man already going through it. Oh yeah, them jokes going flat. I got to put him through it some more. Hey, them jokes going flat, Joe.
49:34Shannon Sharpe:They going to have a rego. Man, you know, like I'm saying, if you go to a black college, if you can't Joan, don't even go. Yeah, you done, you done. Don't even register. Don't even go.
49:53Shannon Sharpe:Don't go, Joe, I'm telling you. I done saw a lot of fights happen because, you know, hey, you know how it is, it's all for the game. Yeah. See, the problem is, is that you don't get mad at the guy Jonia, you get mad at Ocho laughing. Yeah. What you laughing at? Whoa, whoa, I ain't saying nothing, I'm just laughing. Yeah, yeah. Now you wanna tussle, because you think Ocho easy, cause the dude Jonia. Oh, no. No. But that's how it was. Yeah. But nah, man, uh-uh, I can't get no ink. I can't. Nah, it's too late now. The only thing I ever wanted was an earring. Ain't too late? Yeah, it is too late. Man, I'm damn near 60.
50:37Shannon Sharpe:What I look like getting an earring? It's age ain't nothing but a number, man. Hey, hold on, what kind of earring you looking for? I got you, bro. What kind of earring you looking for? No. Nah, you got your ears bit. Hey, Joe, I got both. Man, I ain't had no earring since I played, boy. You know, I had a little stud from Claire's. Yeah. Yeah, man. I got some upstairs. I wanted one. My mama say, when you graduate high school, you can get it. I ain't wanted it. Because all my friends had already started getting it. They started getting them ninth, 10th grade, 11th grade. They getting the air. I was like, damn you.
51:12Shannon Sharpe:I called mama. Granny say, I told granny I wanted to hear anything. She said, boy, call your mama. Mama said, boy, I come down there and beat your ass.
51:26Shannon Sharpe:No earring for the key yet. Yeah. All right, so did you take it personal when Danny Ferry traded you to Brooklyn and was you blindsided by the trade? Did I take it personal? At first, not really. Soon as he got the job, Uncle Ocho, I'm talking about as soon as he got the job, I was the first person who he traded. So I never got to talk to him. I never, me and him never had a conversation. It was none of that. You know, it was like he signed on the dotted line, and he kind of already had a play for me. But the thing that was crazy is that I had my homeboy who was playing on the summer league team, so I'm still coming into the arena every day.
52:06And I see him every day, but he don't say nothing to me. I don't say nothing to him. I ain't pissed off. You know, it is what it is, part of the business. You know, ain't nobody untradeable. I understood that part. But he never told me, you know, he never told me nothing, bro. I mean, him never even spoke. I seen him on countless occasions.
52:26Shannon Sharpe:And then he ended up getting fired because he said that stuff about Luau Deng. Yeah. Yeah. So I don't know, man. You know.
52:39Shannon Sharpe:Oh, you ain't got no ears pierced. I'm looking. Oh, you let them close up? Nah. Yeah, they probably closed up right now. I just stick something back through there. It open up. Oh, no. you know i like needles on i do i got i got 47 tattoos i don't care nobody know a little needle going through the air man my sister appears my cousin them ears well what you what and a sewing needle okay she she she kind of froze it a little bit got it yeah put put some heat on it first you know hey dad we ain't know nothing about no gun yeah nothing about that burn burn one of my grandma's sewing needles put ice cubes on that let that thing numb and stuck it right through there.
53:21Mm-hmm. Nah.
53:24Shannon Sharpe:Got the broom straw, burnt both ends, put it in there, let the broom straw stand there for about a week, and then you went and got some hoops and some studs. Yeah. Hey, look, damn, man, I went to Clarence, got that little gold ball in there. Hey, Joe, me and you too. Hey, hey, held that little teddy bear tight as a ball. You hear me? Yeah. Yeah. People talking about, man, a sword needle, a ice cube. Man, what you, hold on. I don't know what y 'all back then gonna use. That's how people pierced their ears back then. There wasn't no, I mean, the guns came along later, but there wasn't no guns. You got a sewing needle or a safety pin, a, what it called, Bobby, no, safety pins.
54:04Shannon Sharpe:Just one of them pins that you hook, you get your clothes, yeah, one of them big ones, burn it, let that thing numb up, push it right through.
54:19damn hey that was some good day good memories boy good memories man
54:25Shannon Sharpe:as a father who was uh who has a demanding job on the road a lot to being a pro athlete what advice would you give to be the best father while providing
54:39it's challenging boy very very it's a little easier now though
54:45Shannon Sharpe:not for him when he seems like he is on the road a lot so that means I guess he's a truck driver or something that requires him to be away from home just when you're present you got to be present when you say you're going to do something you got to be able to do it and sometimes you have to like okay I'll do that something comes up and then you like you know I know I probably could use the money but once you tell a kid that you're going to do something especially after you're away, you got to be there. You got to do it. Because they don't forget. They don't. Hey, hey. Them kids got memories like elephants, boy.
55:22I'm talking about, hey, anything you say, they're going to hold on to it and remember it. You got to have them uncomfortable conversations, too. Yep. Kids, you know, at that age, whatever age they are at, understanding, you know, what your job entails, and it has you away for long, long periods of time. So they have a better understanding of what's going on, even though they might not understand it, but just having that uncomfortable conversation with them will help out a lot.
55:47Shannon Sharpe:It's hard. And I don't care even the most devout fathers, they're going to miss something. You're going to miss some recitals because guess what? You got practice. You're going to miss some PTAs because you're going to be away. It's just a part. And hopefully you've explained it to your partner and she understands that that's a part of your job and she's going to have to be mom and dad a lot, especially early on. I mean, think about it now. LeBron has been in the league 20 years. That's longer than Brown has been alive. How many things did you think he's missed? But when he had an opportunity to get there?
56:24Yeah.
56:25Shannon Sharpe:Even if it meant, you know what? Hey, I'm going to catch up. I'm going to rent a jet. I'm going to go see Brown, and I'll meet you all there. Everybody doesn't have that luxury, and you have to make sacrifices. but you know you got to put bread on the table you got to you got to feed a family you got to do what you got to do you got to do what you got to do but i just said the only thing i would tell you bro is that be available the best way you can because everybody's being available is different so don't look where a x y and z his parents are there or x y and that happened no you be there the best way you can.
57:08Shannon Sharpe:But at the end of the day, you gotta provide. You gotta put a roof over his head. You gotta put food on the table. You gotta take care of your family. So I commend you. Thanks for the... Oh, don't play with my name. I'll post you up. Y 'all see who that came from? Who was that? Somebody got Domination 5. That was it for real? No. No. They need to take that D and put AB in front of it.
57:43Shannon Sharpe:A hallucination. Man kills home. Ocho, do you realize OKC didn't start really beating the Lakers until the fourth quarter every game? Luka gives you 30, 35 a night. It would have been different, Ocho. It would have been different. Oh, my God.
58:03Hey, look. That's all I'm saying, bro. Like, damn. That's all we saying, Ocho. All right. You know what? Y 'all right. Man, Ocho. Y 'all right. Y 'all, y 'all right. Yeah, if Luka played, you know, beating the defending champs, you had a better chance of beating the defending champs. I got you.
58:26You think so? Hell, no.
58:33I'm just saying the games would have been a little better. They probably would have won a couple.
58:41Shannon Sharpe:Uncultured Jay. I see you got my boy Anderson Pack on Club Shay Shay. He's probably my favorite music artist right now. I requested him on Discord also earlier this year. So glad to see it come to fruition. It was great. It was great sitting down to him. I told him I'm gonna catch him um when him and um who's the guy ocho bruno mars bruno woohoo i told him i'm gonna catch him i'm gonna tell you i'm gonna catch you so hopefully hey hopefully y 'all enjoy it because you know every time i have somebody why you got this person on there have somebody like this here on there have somebody that's uplifting the culture i say well you can start your own podcast and have whoever you want.
59:28Shannon Sharpe:Well, I ain't got no platform. Well, how the hell are you in my comments? Ocho, you do realize if you're in somebody's comments, you got a platform. What the hell? I just didn't look up at the sky and see you routed in the sky. Hey, that's a good one. What the hell? That's a good one. So, hopefully that I like Anderson. Man, I like Suki. I mean, Ocho, when you get down, when you get an opportunity to sit down and really, like, talk to people and really get a chance to see them. Man, she had me crying. It gives you a different perspective. It does. I mean, to sit down and talk to Glow Rilla and talk to Meg Thee Stallion and talk to Kiki Palmer and to talk to a lot of these people that I never, never would have been I'd ever talked to had I not had this platform.
1:00:15Shannon Sharpe:Right. But, man, like I say, Glow was one of my favorites. She was absolutely one of my favorites. but bad suki she cut up that's your man man joe and people like man uncle i was like bro you do realize i'm not used to hearing people talk like this in real i mean we talk a certain way but i do not women i do it all the time but i'm so oh joe think about it we don't hear women when we talk oh i mean she's talking about oh yeah they don't see my oh yeah yeah she wide open I'm like, oh. She got it. But yeah, they know what it looked like. I said, Lord have mercy. Yo, I just start rubbing my hair.
1:01:00Shannon Sharpe:I said, Lord have mercy. Yeah. Hey.
1:01:08Shannon Sharpe:You got nightcap homegirl in Rome call. What you do?
1:01:16Shannon Sharpe:You got nightcap homegirl in Rome call. She was just, she happened to be over there. She was from America. She just happened to be over there studying because she was getting a degree in business and language.
1:01:34Shannon Sharpe:And so - So you had to get over there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She was a volleyball player. Wasn't she? 5 '8", I think 162. 5 '8", 5 '9", 162. I'm talking about legs. I'm talking about slit down the leg, teardrop. Cheers.
1:02:01Shannon Sharpe:Not long.
1:02:06Shannon Sharpe:What do you know? Ocho, do you realize that I interrupted a week of my training? Yeah. No. Just for that?
1:02:17Shannon Sharpe:Boy, I like Ray Charles. Hit the road, Jack. Don't you come back, old boy. I hit the road. Yeah, boy. That's a special one there, boy. Because y 'all know them volleyball players. Y 'all know how they built. I ain't telling y 'all nothing. I ain't telling y 'all nothing y 'all don't already know. They already know. That's a special one, to be able to take that trip as disciplined as you are when it comes to training. But I got my training in, Ocho. I got my training in when I got there. She had a gym already lined up. Okay, okay, okay. The family. I mean, we went out a couple of times. but her family was cooking, but you know, they cooking, because I wanted to try some, I was in Italy, and she was staying with her family.
1:02:56Shannon Sharpe:So I wanted to taste gnocchi, and I wanted to taste, they making everything handmade. Right, right, right. No reason, all that stuff. I was like, well, damn. But damn, you done met the family and all? No, it wasn't her family. She was staying with her family in Italy. Oh, abroad, okay, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, for the sake of damn, you were locked in. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Obviously, I met her, but I'm saying, yeah, I was like, okay. Yeah, back in the day, Shay traveled now. Yeah, yeah. Hey, you know how they have them signs up, we'll work for food? Y 'all know what my signs said, I ain't got a thing, but you know what it said.
1:03:35Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, no. All right, y 'all don't wanna tell me, but I know, Ocho, I know you don't win. I know, Joe, you back in the day when you was younger, Joe, I know you travel. I done travel, but I ain't. I ain't go that far, huh? Not for some hoo-ha, I ain't traveled that far for the hoo-ha. You done traveled, you done left the state? With something? With something with me? No, to go get something. To go get something? Oh, no, I ain't never did that. No, no. So you ain't, so everything you been, so you ain't never, so Florida, so you ain't never went to like Georgia or California or Texas. Oh, that's different.
1:04:13Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. That ain't no different, I say you travel. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, Ocho done that too. He better stop lying if you're talking about he ain't ever done that. Who? If he was in a different state, you'd have been to a different state, man. Man, now you better come to me, man. I'm booked your flight. Joe, what are you talking about? I don't like, hey, Joe, I don't like to go nowhere right now, still to this day. You think I'm flying for some damn who out when I can get some right here in Miami? In your early 20s, Ocho? Hell nah, with what money? you was in the league Ocho hey uncle your camera oh I went out
1:04:57hey yeah man I just no and especially especially when I was in the league you definitely flying to me I got I got you got me a little pocket change too so what about what about in the offseason though you got you got a little something you you know I mean hey you coming I'm into Miami. Oh man. Oh, you know, that's dangerous, man. You ain't going to nobody. I ain't no - Oh man. Hey. Boy, you too caution to the wind. You don't know what they got going on? Nah, I'm good, man. And I was the other, I was number two with number three back then too? Hell, now I ain't flying to nobody.
1:05:30Shannon Sharpe:I ain't know what I was. I just went. Oh, I made it clear. He said he ain't know what he was.
1:05:44Hey, oh, you just going with the flow. I'm like, hey, I'm just going with the flow, man.
1:05:48Shannon Sharpe:Hey, we having a good time. Do you think Aiden would be a good center for my Celtics? Yeah, y 'all should try him out. Yeah, he probably wouldn't be bad for real while you playing over in the East. The West is just too, it's too much in the West, bro. Tell me they should try him out.
1:06:13Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, yeah, you know. Yeah, that was them were the days, guys. Yeah. Gee, ain't it funny how time just slips on the way.
1:06:28Shannon Sharpe:See, that's why I couldn't hang with Ocho. See, Ocho, Ocho ain't no fun. He don't like to travel. Oh, hey, listen. My fun don't had nothing to do with traveling. Boy, it has something to do with. Yeah, okay. Okay. I need to go. Okay. Okay. Yeah, I put a bit on the road, hey, go to Florida, you know, hey, I hit the road. South Carolina, I hit the road now. Back in the day, not now, not now, not now. All right, no, I'm cutting up. Oh yeah, boy.
1:07:10Shannon Sharpe:Turn me loose. Ocho was too. You know I know, huh? What'd you say, Joe? I said Ocho was, he was cutting up too. He was not no? Yeah. Ooh. Ocho. Hey, you know I did a little something. Not no. But look, we all talking past tense. That's not who we are now. It's out of my system. It's out of my system. Yeah. Somebody said, but why I want to be normal? I am normal. I am normal.
1:07:45Shannon Sharpe:I am normal. I mean, I might have some idiosyncrasies that, you know, load the dishwasher back to front, don't leave, you know, cups and things in the sink. Yeah. Yeah, that's a pet peeve of mine, too. Oh, Joe, you don't just load the dishwasher front to back, do you? Front to back? Nah. You load the dishwasher back to front. Nah, nah. Nah, I don't do that. I'm sorry. I don't do that.
1:08:24No.
1:08:25Shannon Sharpe:It ticks me off. Why you do that? Joe, you load it front to back so you know what's in there. Oh, my goodness, man. Man, this is joking here.
1:08:46Shannon Sharpe:You know, ain't no place in the world like L.A. The only place Bron is going ahead and close that thing out in Cleveland. I just don't see it. I just don't see Cleveland. You don't see it. It's hard to see him leaving L.A., seriously. It does. and I don't see him going to the Clippers.
1:09:11What do you say, Ojo? I mean, it was hard to envision him leaving Cleveland. He left, didn't he?
1:09:17Shannon Sharpe:No, it wasn't that hard because the thing is is that
1:09:25Shannon Sharpe:they couldn't get anybody to come join him in Cleveland. You know, look at this. Come on now. Look at that team. Look at that team that he took to the fight. His last year there. Yo, he had no business getting that team. He had no business getting that team out of the first round. Damn the second round, the Eastern Conference. He had no business getting that team out of the first round. Nah. But he elevated everybody's play, bro. He did that.
1:09:55Shannon Sharpe:Ant-Man, Juwan-A-Man, Sand-Man, the Taliban, Spurs and Six. Oh, come on. Hey, Coach O 'Iso, what are your thoughts on Darren Peterson having cramps from too much creatine? It'll do it. They advise you take creatine and drink a lot of water. You got to. It won't water, and it's going to pull it from somewhere. You got to. Hey, look, and you know what? It's crazy because I never took creatine until I got to college too. You know, they try to put a little weight on you when you get to college. But I ain't experienced that, though. Hey, I took it. I took it, but I drank, I mean, I was drinking probably three to four of those 1.5 liter bottles of water a day.
1:10:38Shannon Sharpe:Oh yeah, now it'll put some weight on you now if you do it right. But I was, whew.
1:10:50Shannon Sharpe:You see that, you see that old Joe? Hey, we about the same size now. Come on, man. Hey Joe, I'm rocked up for this now. Yeah, yeah. I see. So you, Joe, so now you know when I was, what, 20, 20, in my 20s? Can you imagine when I was 20, my 20s and 30s? They ain't wanna see O'Shea. They ain't wanna see O'Shea. They ain't wanna see. Not long, no siree. Boy, that's all it ain't. Y 'all gonna be my hood, but right there.
1:11:34Shannon Sharpe:I would like that for real though. I believe bro. I believe. Ocho been 165 his whole life. I'm 205 right now. Man you ain't a damn 205. Hey you seen me carrying that weight around that day today. What weight you carried around Ocho? Yeah you saw it. What does that told you? I'm trying to figure out what you carry. you no way i matter of fact i'd make sure y 'all got some extra clips tomorrow what's wrong with this man bro i'm just i'm just telling you joe i'm telling you when i get in front of you hey and i slide these puppies you gonna slide on him hey hey um he don't understand and i hit you hey hey and i hit you with this big ass shoulder how shabby hitting them boys out there Boom.
1:12:23Joe, Joe, I'm not worried about that. I may absorb that contact and I'm gonna be right there. I'm gonna anchor down. Joe, that shit don't do nothing. You can't absorb - You acting like you talking to some rookie or something. Hey, you can't absorb the contact and still contest. You gonna have to do one or the other. You feel me? Joe, you ain't finna tell me what I'm finna be able to do, Joe. Okay. I'm not none of them other people you be playing at the YMCA, boy. Yeah, okay. You hear me, boy? Mm-hmm. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Boy, I promise you, you gonna keep my name out your damn mouth. I'll tell you that.
1:12:58They call me the ISO stopper, boy. All right.
1:13:01Shannon Sharpe:The ISO stopper. Hey, Zoom in, Jordan. Okay. Hey, Joe. What's up? See, this is what a 54-year-old look like. Damn. What you call, go zoom it in? That's 54, Joe. You wasn't messing around with you, man. That's Joe. That's 252 pounds, Joe. Hey, don't make me come up by this shirt. That boy was yoked up, boy. Hey, Joe, don't make me come up by this shirt. Yeah, you died and everything was right one and all. Oh, yeah, yeah, Joe. Yeah, Joe. I got to get my discipline back so I can, what you call them? I don't want to look like that. That's too much. You said it's too much. It's too much work, huh? Yeah.
1:13:53Too much mental stress on you.
1:13:54Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, cause it's work and then ain't nobody wanna be with you cause like you ain't going nowhere, you ain't eating nothing. Hey, you be irritable and all that, don't you? You do. You do, Joe. I ain't finna hold you, you do. So. So I was like, nah, I'm good. But I'ma lose, I'ma get down to like two, I'ma get down to 45. I get down to 45 like it ain't nothing. it's something i mean i'm on that bike i'm on that bike all the time now yeah what you doing about 45 minutes yeah i do 45 but i'm going all i'm joined i'm going i'm going all out with your heart you got you keep up with your heart rate and all that i used to i'm gonna start back wearing a heart rate monitor i'm gonna start back wearing it but i go i was uh i'm doing on the concept bike the urn yeah i go for i got to uh i can get 20 i go like a little under 15 miles in 45 minutes damn oh yeah you chucking yeah

They got to chill. Yeah. Damn. I don't know it ain't looking good for y 'all, Joe. What do you mean? They said, but y 'all, you know, we're going to see what y 'all going to do. Y 'all got pick back. Y 'all got CD, Dak. Dak no off-season surgery, so, you know, I'm going to see what y 'all going to put down. Oh, yeah. We should get off to a good start. We got the Giants open up. We're going to probably blow the doze off them boys.
1:15:39Shannon Sharpe:Damn, Ocho. You heard Joe say he's going to blow the doze off the Giants. Yeah. Hey, you know what? I'm not even going to disrespect Joe and the Cowboys. We know what they say every season. It's the same thing. Same, same. It ain't nothing happening, huh? Nah. Hey, look. I'm just telling you what I feel, considering what the Giants kind of done went through with some of the top guys. Yeah, we should get out to a damn good start. All right. We open up with Kansas City. We? I think we got Kansas City. Don't we got Kansas City, Ash? Who y 'all open up with? I'm not sure who we open up with. I know we play in Madrid week nine.
1:16:19L. Who they open up with? Loss.
1:16:25Hey, don't y 'all open up with Kansas City? Yeah. Okay, Loss. Let me see.
1:16:31Shannon Sharpe:Oh, you think so? No, we got Kansas. Joe, Ocho, you know we got Kansas City number now, Joe. You know we had that Ocho for a year. Oh, yeah.
1:16:41Uh-uh.
1:16:42Shannon Sharpe:Lost. They kind of leaked the little stuff. How has LeBron considered to go with all these times he's been swept in the finals and the playoffs other than longevity? Kobe Steph never swept in the finals.
1:17:00Hold on. My bad. Say it again.
1:17:02Shannon Sharpe:When last night Steph made the playoffs. Oh, they saying what? How long until Kobe did the playoffs his last four or five years? Did Kobe make the playoffs his last four years? Nah. Nah.
1:17:18I think when he went out with that, what did he have, 62 that night?
1:17:22Shannon Sharpe:That 60-point, his final game? Yeah. Yeah. Because I think Kobe, when he tore his Achilles, he was trying to make the trying to make the playoffs that year that's why you know
1:17:36Shannon Sharpe:the last four years so Kobe missed the playoffs the last four years we ain't gonna talk we're on happy time, we don't move past that we'll talk about that a little bit of a time what's up fellas, love the show, been tuning in for about a year but never gave you props M, appreciate that support guys, really really appreciate that Bruno Mars or the weekend Ravens did Crosby dirty Cowboys will beat the bingo though Joe child please oh yeah I mean look we can't got some stuff hey both of them got his boy they do but we talk about two different artists it's just that Bruno Entertainment Factor yeah yeah two different artists two different sounds I mean it's almost hard to compare the two then what we can't say ever since I was I was legit doesn't he sing that song what weekend he got a big song probably got like 5-10 billion views
1:18:38Shannon Sharpe:Kobe wasn't the GM LeBron he's the GM you see the buddy you see how they keep moving the goal now LeBron the GM hey
1:18:51Shannon Sharpe:Cowboys play the Bengals this year Ocho I don't think so. Oh, cause that's gonna be a L. They ain't want this move. Oh, tell them Al Bundy, Polk Kai story. Nah, bro. Ain't no Polk Kai stories here. Hey. Bro, hold on, talk about, Joe, do they realize that I've been to Pro Football Hall of Fame? Nah, we talk about them, we talk them, a Pro Football Hall of Fame ain't got nothing to do with them 52 points you scored in. Joe, Ocho, I'm telling you, I was a best, If you go ask anybody in Glenville, they will tell you I was a better basketball player than a football player. Ocho, I got one trophy in four years of high school football.
1:19:35Shannon Sharpe:I was the MVP my senior year. That's the only trophy that I got. I ain't buying it until I see some footage.
1:19:48Shannon Sharpe:Go ask anybody that went to Savannah State. From 86 to 19. I need footage. Ask about the juice. I guarantee you everybody know. Don't nobody know who other teams were, but everybody know about the juice crew all-star featuring. Who are they featuring Ocho? Oh my goodness. Hey, I'm stealing that name tomorrow. I'm stealing that name tomorrow. on the floor. Man. Nightcap, I've heard enough. This gonna be too far. Forget the one on ones. ISO versus Ocho in a Texas bull rope match. Man, Ocho don't know nothing about no Texas bull rope match. That's WWE style. Bull rope. I wanna fight. Yeah. Texas bull rope match.
1:20:41Shannon Sharpe:See, they had a steel cage match. they had the Texas Bull rope match they had what the hell hey we need to just fight we need to fight with brass knuckles on that's cool man hey hey I'll let you pick partner whatever you want to pick huh whatever you want to pick here cause he the one gonna be getting hitting upside the damn head I don't know what he think this is I'm definitely not getting hit yo
1:21:10bink bink
1:21:12Shannon Sharpe:Do y 'all think the Los Angeles Lakers problem is actually roster construction for LeBron's greatness for the organization into thinking there's always one move away? Look, a lot of times when you great, you think that, hey, I just make a little simple move. Those days are over, Joe Ocho. I think they're over. What do you think, Joe? For the Lakers? For any team. I think when you look at it, the way these teams are constructed, you look at Boston, you look at the Knicks, you look at the Spurs, you look at OKC.
1:21:51I think anywhere, bro, I think.
1:21:53Shannon Sharpe:Those teams are so deep now. Yeah. These teams go eight, nine, legit deep. And everybody on those teams going to get minutes on any other roster, they're going to get minutes. Hey, I know what. Johnson's going to get minutes. Mitchell and Caruso and those guys and Wallace, those guys that come off the beach, they're going to get minutes on any other roster. And you know why? Because these are two-way guys. All them two-way guys, bro. Yep.
1:22:27Shannon Sharpe:Sir Cates, my guys, Ocho up. I know it's early, but who has the most approved this upcoming season? Burrow, Allen, Dak, so what team do you see my Tar Heel brother Caleb Wilson going to in the draft? Burrow needs to prove he can stay healthy. Josh Allen needs to prove he can win the big games when it matters the most. And Dak got to get the team past the damn championship. Everybody got something to prove. As a matter of fact, everybody put up numbers. Josh Allen is one of the MVP. Joe Burrow's went to a Super Bowl. Dak is thrown for a gazillion yards. Yeah. So what are we talking about? Everybody has individual accolades.
1:23:12Shannon Sharpe:But last I checked, football is a team sport. They're going to need their teams to the ultimate prize, the ultimate finish line. Everybody believes they've made the move. Look at Buffalo has changed their coach. Ocho, I told you that. Remember what I told you, Ocho? I said, here you go. You said he was going to be a prize. I said, this season. I said, Ocho, baby, you got to win. That closeness. Burrow has been, look. he got his guys back Ocho say they've done a great job he loved the additions that they made defensively yeah huge the Cowboys they say hey we got rid of Micah and we turned that into Quinny Williams we turned that into what's the Clark we turned that into the draft the draft picks now it's time to go get it yes sir it's time to go get it it's really that simple no more excuses right thank you guys for joining us the San Antonio Spurs take a 3-2 lead thanks to a 126 97 victory over the Timberwolves and Victor Wimanyama he made up for that being injection in game four 27 points 17 rebounds five assists three big blocks plus 24 the highest plus minus in the game along with D Aaron Fox thank you guys for joining us y 'all know who I am I'm your favorite and that is my partner and co-host Liberty City's own.
