In short

NBA and NFL hot takes plus sports updates and Q&A. Main NBA debate: whether LeBron James would accept a “third option” role on the Spurs without hurting the team’s growth. NFL segment: Browns QB competition—Shedeur Sanders closing the gap on Deshaun Watson for QB1.

Guests/backgrounds

No clear external guests named; the episode is mainly hosted by “Uncle Joe” and “Ocho” (co-hosts). Sports references include LeBron, Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and Browns/USMNT figures.

Key claims

  1. LeBron can adapt to a reduced role and still be efficient, citing his career evolution.
  2. LeBron likely dislikes being a third option, but could sacrifice for team success.
  3. Shedeur Sanders has narrowed the gap; Watson’s OTAs showed inconsistency (throws into traffic).
  4. Watson’s job is “to lose” within weeks; supporting cast and timing/rhythm matter most after long inactivity.

Notable examples

  • LeBron “third option” efficiency vs. earlier “lead dog” roles.
  • Deshaun Watson’s recent availability issues (missed games, shoulder, Achilles).
  • USMNT: Christian Pulisic calf injury; hope he plays vs Australia.

3:00Shannon Sharpe:I think he really enjoys playmaking. Yeah, we all know he can score. Hell, he's a league leader, you know, in history. But I think he enjoys playmaking and making guys better around him. And obviously, do I think he can make the San Antonio team better? Yes. but when you slow down the growth and development of some of those young guys in particularly like harper because i think you're gonna have to move him to that damn starting lineup put that ball in his hands man hey hold on and joe as you get older right you got to be able to adapt as you get older you got to be able to adjust lebron showed he can adapt and he can adjust to different circumstances as opposed to how it was when he's in cleveland he wasn't happy about it though joe Wait, hold on, hold on.

3:46But he showed he can do it. And he showed he can still be efficient. He showed he can still score, even being the third option. So who to say he can't go to the Spurs understanding, like you said, okay, you know what, I don't want to shorten the growth spurt for these young players. I still want to allow them to continue to grow and learn the game. So I'm going to come here and take a step back and allow them to do just that. And where they need me, I will insert myself. Where need be.

4:15Shannon Sharpe:Mm-mm. That's not how he's wired. Nah. He's trying to get that fifth one. He's trying to get the fifth one and make as much money as he possibly can while contributing. He was not – listen, he'll probably never admit this publicly. He was not happy with that third option role. Hey, hey. He does not believe that Austin Reeves was a better player than him. He will concede Luka. I don't believe he'll ever concede Austin Reeves. And I think Austin – he loves Austin Reeves. He took time out of with Austin Reese, with Austin Reese with a rookie, and believed in him and gave him opportunities when he was on the court.

4:51Shannon Sharpe:But it's just hard for me to believe knowing how a guy of that caliber is wired. Yeah. Yeah. I agree with you. I agree with you. I could be wrong. I could be damn ass wrong. But it's just hard for me to believe that. I think you're wrong. Hey, Joe, at times in life, sometimes you got to sacrifice to get what you want. Yeah. I'm willing to bet LeBron is willing to sacrifice whatever he needs to do to help the Spurs get back to the finals and this time hoist that goddamn trophy. And that means being the third option, whether I like it or not, I think he can do it. Because he's done it. He's done it his whole career.

5:31He's had to evolve over time. I'm like the same guy I used to be. But I can fit in any system. I can play in any system.

5:40Shannon Sharpe:But Ocho, everything has revolved around him. You know, he's reiterated, you know, this postseason that, you know, I'm getting back to the number one option that I've always been. That being that third option, man, that was foreign to him. He let that be known. He's never been a third option. Yeah, he's never in life. He said, hell, even in high school and junior high, hell, he ain't never been no third option. It was an adjustment to him to be the second option. remember you remember how when he first got to miami how awkward it was because he was trying to be the second the second option like d-way this your team d-way said nah bro you the best player you lead i'll i'll i'll figure it out what did what did he show you he could do though even if he didn't like it for the betterment of the team what did you do i can i think he's good enough to do whatever he set his mind to now you saying like correct damn if brun set out to be like okay i'm gonna come here and be the third option yes he could do that i just don't think he has i i i don't see him moving like that bro i don't i don't not when he's not when he's considering himself the goat as well nah that man ain't doing that bro think about Ocho and quarterbacks when they want historically great quarterbacks to be to mentor or move to the backup they retire

7:09they retire

7:12Shannon Sharpe:you could never see Peyton Manning Tom Brady Ben Roethlisberger Aaron Rogers Brett being backup up could you? Mm-mm.

7:25Shannon Sharpe:It takes and when he's been that and like I said, he's like, look when I was the number one option, look what I did. I led a team to the pole. I led a team and we took down a team that people didn't think we're going to beat. We beat the Houston Rockets. Me as the lead at scoring 20, 24 points, 7, 8 rebounds, 7, 8 assists, something like that. I could do this. Hey, but Uncle Joe, as you get older in your career, LeBron is going to be 42. Yes. Now he's in a position going to a team where he gets to take the weight and the shoulder and the burden of having to lead. It's off him. He can get that monkey off his back.

8:06He doesn't have to do that no more. He can let everybody else do the dirty work. We talked about this yesterday. Think about this, right? Like Messi, the way the Argentine team is constructed, right? Messi don't got to do nothing. Half the time, if a game is played in 90 minutes, Messi's just walking around standing there about 70 minutes. It's moments of brilliance where Messi can dictate and facilitate and control the game. LeBron can do the same thing. He doesn't need to be the one with the ball in his hands. He can allow everyone else to put their construction hat on and do all the dirty work.

8:42We need LeBron in those moments. What can he give you in those moments? We know what he can do. I'm telling you, he can do that in San Antonio. He doesn't have to be the lead dog. For me,

8:55Shannon Sharpe:Joe, it's just hard for me to believe. A man to spend that kind of money on his body, get to the gym five hours early, do all that working out to be the third option. It ain't about the third option. all the money he spent on his body everything he's done going to the gym at five in the morning look at the resume look at the accolades he's been rewarded for all that you just named he's been rewarded for I know because Ocho he can't can't I hate saying can't but it's hard extremely hard when you've been the lead dog and all of a sudden they don't even let you be number two. You're number three.

9:47Well, I mean, at that point, it would just be stat padding. And if he's not able to do it, you got to be able to adjust. You got to be able to adapt, especially when you know you're not the same person you used to be. You're still trying to leave. It make no sense.

10:00Shannon Sharpe:The only thing on LeBron is real, thinks he's lost some is athleticism. He thinks he's the same player, Ocho. He knows he can't play 38, 39, 40 minutes like he once could, Joe, in his 20s. But if you told LeBron, said, okay, you're the number one option on a team, say like Sacramento, LeBron James believes he can give you 27, 8, 8. For me, he's playing from shoulders up as opposed to these young dudes playing waist down. That's a good one. He ain't out here trying to outrun nobody. He going to outthink you, Ocho. He understands he's so many years ahead of a lot of these young cats who are in the NBA.

10:44Shannon Sharpe:He understands that he's defining the odds of being a 40-some-year-old, 42, 41-year-old NBA player playing at his highest level. We've never seen him before, bro. I think he enjoys that. I think he enjoys defeating the odds, bro. being the only player to ever play 41-42 and still be able to put up the numbers that he's putting up. I think he really enjoys this moment. Yeah, I think it's selfish. You think it's selfish? It could be. It could be a little selfishness, but yeah. I think it's selfish to understand that you're not the same, understand you can't do it or muscle it up like you did before when you were in your younger days when you were at Cleveland, when you were at the Heat.

11:30you're a different player now even if you are thinking from the shoulders up it's a mind game now at this point where you're thinking a little bit more intelligently so as intelligent as he is why would you not understand what your role is at this point in your career how many greats aren't selfish that's how you became great didn't you say you had to step on

11:52Shannon Sharpe:somebody to become a billionaire to become historically great how selfish must you be Selfish. A lot of times, selfishness, what does it cost you if you married? Your relationship. Look at the great coaches. And what happened? Yeah. Remember, you got to be a little selfish to beat. You got to be a little selfish. You do, bro. No, you got to be a lot selfish. Ain't no little. I got you. I got you. I got you. Hey, listen, I'm just throwing my two cents in it, man. That's all. We hear you. Another year, another Browns quarterback competition. According to Jeremy Fowler, Shadour Sanders has bridged the gap between him and Deshaun Watson.

12:32Shannon Sharpe:Deshaun went to the spring as a clear-cut favorite, and then Shadour has bridged the gap. According to The Athletic, Watson lacked consistency during OTAs. Watson seemed healthy and occasionally throw downfield with confidence, but he lacked consistency and threw too often into traffic. Ocho? Yes, sir. What you thinking? I ain't really thinking none, no. Is it your job to lose? Yeah, I told you that, and that's exactly how it's going to be. For those that are in the chat that love football, whether you're a Cleveland Browns fan or not, Deshaun Watson is the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns.

13:06The job that Deshaun Watson is going to get, Uncle Joe, it is his job to lose. He has six weeks. I guarantee you, listen to me now. I'm telling you, I'm calling it right now, Uncle Joe. He has six weeks to make sure that team is playing above a better then whatever the expectations may be for that team and that quarterback. If he's not, Shador Sanders will fall in line as the backup and be the starter for the remainder of this season.

13:37Shannon Sharpe:I don't think it's going to take six weeks. I think because he's been off for so long and that football is a timing, rhythm thing, especially at the quarterback position. and if you can't be consistent in this league fellas y 'all know y 'all played it bro they only gonna deal with so much now they're gonna give him an opportunity uncle ocho but yeah yeah yeah they don't get but i don't think it's gonna take six weeks before she do or get in there that's just me but oh if they if they if they doing bad if they doing if they doing bad i think most of the time i could be wrong you you'd be better suited to answer that when it comes to a quarterback and you got somebody over your shoulder, if you're not playing well, I thought maybe it would be the six-week mark because you don't want to lose too much of the season where you still have a chance to compete.

14:28At least play for something.

14:32Shannon Sharpe:Well, the question is, when is their bye week? How soon is their bye week? Right. How bad? I mean, is the offense stagnant? You know what I'm saying, Ocho? I mean, you're like three and out, three and out, three and out. Pick, fumble. Now we maybe have three, four weeks of that, and then we got to make a switch. That sounds good. It's just hard to be off the length of time. It's because we got to go back to like, Deshaun hadn't been that guy, what, since his last year? Because remember. Last year in Houston? Excuse me. His last year in Houston, Ocho, he led the league in passing. Yeah, he went crazy.

15:13Shannon Sharpe:And then all that information comes out. he didn't play another snap even though he was still on the roster. He goes to Cleveland. He misses the first 11 games. The next year he gets hurt with a shoulder. The next year he tears his Achilles. So when you look at it, in the last four to five years, he's played one season if you add the games up, I believe, in its totality. It's hard, man. It is hard. imagine any other sport in a five-year period you play the equivalent of one season if it's basketball it's 82 games so basically you play 16 games a season baseball is 162 so imagine you playing you know 32 games 34 games a season it's just hard yeah listen i i wish i wish the best.

16:08I wish them the best. It's all going to come down to, forget Deshaun Watson. It's going to come down to how well are the people surrounding me going to be? How well are my receivers going to always be where I expect them to be? Are they going to be able to get open? Can they block? Can they run? Hey, the quarterback job is a lot easier, Joe, when you can rely on everything that's surrounding you. Your supporting cast makes things easy.

16:34Shannon Sharpe:When you look at it, hell, they got at all the skill positions, I mean, they got some hell of a players, man. Yeah, they got some. They added something. They added something. Yeah, so I think he got plenty of weapons that he can use. It's just the rhythm and timing that you need at that quarterback position, bro, after being off for real, for real, three, four, five years. Damn, it's hard to come in thinking this man ain't going to be him. You feel me? That's hard. Because we remember what him was. because we keep hoping, Ocho, to see him. The last time we saw Deshaun Watson start a full season, play like that, we remember what he was.

17:15Shannon Sharpe:So we just keep saying, okay, that. I don't know if he'll ever do that again. That's what I'm saying. Honestly, I ain't going to put nothing past him. Again, I think it all comes down to supporting cast. Them boys got to be on point. They have to make his job easy. And how do you make Deshaun Watson's job easy? Being accountable. for him being able to rely on you, making plays, being consistent, always winning your individual battles. So he always has an outlet. They don't have that caliber of receiver, Ocho. They consistently get open, the chases, the JSNs, the Puga, the Kuhls. They don't have that.

17:57They don't have that, but that system that they do have, Deshaun got to know it like the back of his hand. I'm not sure who the officer coordinator is. I don't know his name by heart, but he has to learn. Listen, if I had to –

18:10Shannon Sharpe:Todd Munkin's the coordinator. Oh, Todd Munkin? Yeah, he's the head coach and the coordinator. If I have some discrepancies and inconsistency with my quarterback, then I have to know those that are around them. I got to understand their strengths and their weaknesses and put them in positions to make my quarterback's job easy. I got to know what everyone else does well for this offense to go. what if your wide receiver strength and weaknesses isn't what your quarterback does well and what about if your quarterback what he does well isn't what they do well not what we do hey

18:45hey hey hey honestly honestly somebody shouldn't be in the league boy if it's that bad boy i got to i got to be able to rely on somebody man listen i want to see the browns be competitive

19:01Shannon Sharpe:I really do.

19:07Shannon Sharpe:United States manager Mauricio, how do you say his last name? Pacino? Pacino? Pacino? Pacino. Says star tagger Christian Pulisic is doing much better in terms of an injury to his left calf, but will be assessed by the medical staff later in the day to determine his availability to play against Australia. Ocho, the game is on early. Do you see him playing tomorrow? Man, I would hope so. Man, I done flew six hours down here to Seattle to watch USA play Australia. I'm hoping he play. But that's our star boy. That's our wonder kid. What are we talking about? Hey, he better take a tour though. Yeah.

19:47I need Balagoon. Hey, Balagoon, boy. Hey, he nice, boy. He is nice. He's the real deal. But obviously, you need Pulisic out there because he opens it up for everybody else. Basically, he's able to do coming off the wing. The midfield, though, we played so well, Uncle Joe. We played so well when we played Paraguay last week. I didn't even know who the hell I was watching. I'm going to be honest with you. Our U.S. men's team, Joe, has never looked like that. Hold on, hold on.

20:17Shannon Sharpe:You act like Paraguay. They supposed to be like that? No, Paraguay ain't like that. But even though Paraguay is not like that, I still never seen us play like that. Anytime we did play against inferior opponents, we play down to the confidence. We struggle. Copenhagen's Spit Free packs American-grown tobacco into pouches. 23:32Let's meet at the facts. Let's move forward from there. NBC News, reporting for America. 23:58Shannon Sharpe:it now is time for our final segment of the evening it's time for Q and A shot to my calf Yeah, I am. Joe, you laughing, Joe. Before we get to the super chat, we got one video voicemail from our Discord. Let's take a listen. Unk, Ocho, and still King Iso. Hello. Check me out. So, y 'all left a response on my comment on y 'all's post the other day. and told me to tell my fine-ass mama that y 'all said hello. Well, she said hello. Also, I got a little situation going on.

24:43I've been with this girl for about seven years, and I wound up having a baby on her with another girl. But I'm still in love with this girl, and I want to be with her, but I also want to be in my kid's life. So any advice from y 'all? Like, I don't know, man. Also, go Duke, double ACC champs, baby.

25:01Shannon Sharpe:First off, who said something about his mama? I don't know who that was. I don't know. He said somebody mama, who his mama is? He said his fine ass mama. I don't know. I know I ain't said that. I ain't disrespectful like that. I ain't disrespectful publicly like that.

25:24Shannon Sharpe:I know his mom wasn't the one that took that picture with her son in the high school and she was like there with the white pants on. That wasn't his mom. I don't know. I didn't see. I didn't see, I didn't see, I didn't see. But, but, but on another note, if you had a baby on that girl, man, you might well let her go, bro. Let it go. Hey, you gotta ask a woman. Nah, nah, they ain't never gonna forget that. They ain't, she ain't never gonna forget that, no. Hold on, Joe. Good boy, that lit she get back, gonna hurt. Yeah, it is. Oh, hey, baby. Baby, you sleep? hey if you was dating somebody right and they had a child on you could you see yourself still dealing with that person yeah yeah yeah hey homie yeah just go ahead and let that go yeah go ahead and let that go yeah you ain't gonna never live that down and obviously it's gonna get thrown in your face it's gonna throw it in your face every time just go ahead and be in your child life matter of fact whoever you had a child from if you can you know you might want to you know no no try that route yeah that's a tough one it is it is you know i mean it takes it takes a special type of it takes a special type of a woman to forgive a child i think obviously it's a lot different between boyfriend and girlfriend and somebody been married.

26:56Shannon Sharpe:But still, he said they've been together for seven years. You know what seven years is, huh? You know what Black Boat call is, huh? The seven-year itch. Yeah. Yeah, that seven-year itch, Joe. If you can get past seven years, you might as well get married at that point. Another, I mean, yeah, you got to move on, bro. Yeah, yeah, I think, bro, uh, uh,

27:22Shannon Sharpe:she might forgive you, but she'll never forget it. Never forget. You can live that one down too. And you know what? She has a green light to do whatever she wants for the rest of her life. And that's what I told you before you were, hey, her lick back, because the question is, the hair is a thing. Yo lady, y 'all been together seven years and she had a baby on you. Would you stay with her? Stay. Hey, that's a good one. I like the way you flip that thing like a pancake, boy. No matter how thick or how flat it is, Pancake got two sides. Yeah. Imagine somebody else all in your girl, huh? Ooh, come on, Ocho, come on, man.

28:06See, he ain't have to do that, Joe. No, I'm just saying, I want him to visualize it so he get a better understanding on how he feels. He's chuking in your girl. Oh, oh my God.

28:18You feel me? Just think about the noise that she make, huh? but it ain't it ain't from you it's somebody else oh come on i'm just saying i'm just trying to

28:30Shannon Sharpe:i'll tell you what though she ain't gonna trust your ass you going nowhere doing nothing so she gonna always question you she probably gonna want you to share your location with her yeah yeah you're gonna be miserable man go ahead and go ahead and leave cut your losses twin cut your lost who she every time you leave the house she gonna make sure you got that damn location on nah you don't want no every time she leave the house because you thinking she gonna get that lick back you don't want to deal with that just go ahead and let it go twin yeah yeah just hey it was fun hey i'm sorry and uh but yeah you got the mmm and having a baby yes car watch detail to start your team with Kareem, Dream, Shaq, Wimby, Jokic, Tim, Wilt.

29:25Shannon Sharpe:Damn, I'm taking Shaq. I don't give a damn what nobody say. Well, shoot, the way they talk about Wilt and what he did back in the day, I'ma take Wilt.

29:38I still ain't seen nobody doing Wilt, dude. I ain't seen no 40. You ain't seen nobody do that. Ain't nobody gonna average 30 or 24 for Kareem.

29:44Shannon Sharpe:That's insane. Yeah, I'ma take Wilt. You know what, Joe? I think it really has a lot to do with era. Yeah. Yeah. Who you taking on? Because the...

30:06Because, listen, everybody talking...

30:09Shannon Sharpe:Probably Dream. What? I can see Dream. Dream ain't no bad pick. Yeah, Dream, baby. Bad, you know, bad, you know, bad, you know, everything we talk about now. Y 'all told me what was the greatest sin of all time. What we talk about, but like us in that era. Oh, we now we're picking one error. We can't we can't we can't we can't use errors as a script. You have to Joe Joe.

30:41Shannon Sharpe:Because you think you think we'll go be able to do what he doing in this era with all, because there are more seven footers. You gotta realize there wasn't probably two seven footers when we'll play. All right, well I ain't taking.

31:01Shannon Sharpe:I'm taking. No, you can't, I already got him. I already got him. You gotta pick somebody else. Yep. So you gotta take Wimby, Jokic, Tim. He going through all of them. Shaq going through all of them. I got Dream held his own So I already seen what Dream And Dream gave him Fits on the offensive end So you got to give Shaq fits on the offensive end Dream wore him out in their finals What was that 94? 5 94 they played the Knicks 95

31:38Hey What position Ronnie Cycli played

31:40Shannon Sharpe:Ronnie Cycli He was a sinner. OK, I'm just making sure. What you know about Ronnie Cykler? You remember he played for the Heat? Yeah, I'm from Miami, Joe. OK, that's who you taking? Yeah, he went to the center. You taking Ronnie Cykler? Him and Derek Coleman. No, I was just thinking about sinners. That's all. Boy, you get your toe out the frame. No, I'm just thinking about sinners. When you mention sinners, the first thing I said, wait, Miami, yeah, sinners, OK. Yeah. I mean, he can't compete with them boys we talking about.

32:11Shannon Sharpe:LeBron is a 16 year old was driving a Hummer in high school now how many 16 year olds had a Hummer in high school not at that time not many unless your dad was Bezos or Zuckerberg you know Bill Gates somebody like that hey I was getting she was 16 I was on the box hey hold on while y 'all talking I seen some my son went to a private school his junior and senior year. Kings Ridge. Them folks driving Lamborghinis, Mercedes trucks. Yeah. In high school, Ocho. Wow. Look, look, look. I'm taking them to school for like the first couple weeks because it's about 20, 30 minutes from the crib. I see how them young boys pulling up.

32:59Shannon Sharpe:I'm like, damn. I felt obligated to let them drive my Range Rover. I'm like, man, you're going to drive my Range Rover.

33:12Shannon Sharpe:I let him drive my Range Rover. It wasn't three weeks here. Somebody had to ran into him. I'm like, oh man. Damn. Yeah. Yeah.

33:26Dr.

33:26Shannon Sharpe:Frank, I love the new Adidas commercial. Thank you. It is dope. It's dope. I like them gold thing. y 'all boy had on y 'all feet, boy. Yeah, appreciate that, appreciate that. What's up, Nightcap, big three? Y 'all in y 'all prime, and y 'all going out to a spot together. Who getting the most numbers? Who getting the coldest lately in the spot? Who in the hell? Who was hell when they was well?

33:54Shannon Sharpe:Hey. I'm going to say this, I'm going to say this. I'm going to say this. In my younger days, me and the homies, we used to have little bets like that. Who get the most numbers by the end of the night. Who had the most numbers. I'm talking about worthy though. You know, that's worthy talking to. Like we used to have little competitions like that, bro. Yeah. Yeah, I'm kind of cautious because everybody here, you know, depending on when you go in the room, you know, you gotta weigh your options. You know, everybody is at expense. Some expenses there is high and some is low. I want my experience right away.

34:33Shannon Sharpe:And don't let us have the same taste in women. Oh, yo. That's the majority. I mean, we do. If you could, that's why everybody keeps saying, man, why everybody, all NBA and NFL players, why they keep, because they got the same taste and those are the women that be at the place that we frequent. Yeah, they know what they doing. The women know what they doing. Yeah. In order to get what you want, you got to hang at the same places. If you're trying to get chose, you got to be in the place.

35:11Shannon Sharpe:If I want fish for dinner, where am I going? I'm going to the fish market. Duh. If you're trying to get an athlete, where are you going to go? Where do athletes hang out at? Once you figure that out, okay, let me go and see if I can get chosen. Nice ladies. where do the nice ladies hang out at okay let me go see if i can see what's going what's really going on it ain't that complicated it ain't hey they pretend like it's all innocent oh i was only there with my girl yeah yeah i'm only in town for a couple days i just came to visit yeah okay that's just enough i don't want you here any longer Nah, it's, you know, I was shy back in the day.

36:00Shannon Sharpe:You know, I'm cool, you know. I'm still shy now. Yeah. You know, I ain't try to take nobody home. I'm leaving the club just like I came. I came by myself, I'ma leave by myself. That ain't how you used to move back then. That's how I move like that. You probably move like that now. You wouldn't move like that. No, no, no, no, no. Oh, man, I would definitely. Yeah, see, now you wouldn't. But back then, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Not bring her home from the club? Oh, no. No? No. Hey, Unk, I take care of business at this. Well, I ain't never go to no club, Unk. Nah, that wasn't me, Joe. So when you see her, Unk?

36:42Shannon Sharpe:Maybe a day or two. It all depends on when I meet her. OK. So let's say you met her on a Monday. I ain't going to meet her on a Monday. I didn't go out on a Monday. I mean, maybe a Tuesday night or a Friday night. And so I was like, it'll be about two weeks, a week or two weeks. A week or two. I impressed. Hey, the same thing I'm saying. The same, whatever she'll do on a Tuesday night, trust me, she'll do on a Saturday night too now. Yeah. If she want to do it that night, she'll wait two weeks. Ocho, Ocho, Ocho, that's how, see, that's how you have them falling in love though. You haven't fallen in love like that.

37:22Shannon Sharpe:Oh, hey, hey, Joe. Oh, he's such a gentleman. You know, slow walker. Slow walker. Hey, Joe, you know I be slow walker. Hey. Hey, hey, hey, Joe. I ain't trying to hear that, man. We meet on Monday. I'm trying to test drive the car Tuesday now. Come on, old Joe. Hey, man, come on, man. What we doing? We grown, man. I'm trying to test drive. I want to see if I want to lease you. Okay, okay. I like that, old Joe. I like that. Talk about Joe. I ain't got time to be playing no game. I ain't never toast drove a car. I already know what I want. Huh? Okay, I got you. I already know what I want. You going to buy the car before you test drive it?

38:06Shannon Sharpe:Hey, I know the kind of car I'm looking for. Look like it. I just need to know. Hey, I just need to know. Oh, Joe, I just need to know it got low miles on it. I know somebody done driven it. Yeah. I just wanna, hey, hey, cause the last thing I wanna do is buy a rental. Right. Cause you know people don't give a damn about a rental. Woo, they doing a speed breaker, they slamming on brakes, they driving 150 miles an hour. Yeah. Hey, you know, they gonna tear a rental up. Are you sure? That's why don't never buy a car from a rental car. But the funny thing about it is Uncle Joe, it's easy to tell who to rental and who's not.

38:45It's easy to be able to tell who's for fun and who's to keep around. It's easy. I mean, based on our experience and based on where we are, it's easy to know.

38:58Shannon Sharpe:Man, this old Joe, man. This Joker here, man. What happened? Hey, hey, hey, young. Don't you want to wait? Don't you like to wait, I like, don't you like to wait like two weeks, a month? Two months? A month? You think I'm finna wait a month to see what that happens? Hey, it depends on the mood I'm in. on. Hey, Joe, ain't no mood, man. Yeah, it depends on the mood I'm in. It depends on him. I'm trying to rearrange your furniture. Talk about some weight. I told you. Hey, hey, hey, hey. I don't have him blowing his phone up after he, after he, see, after he laid his pipe down in that rent house and he wondered why they started calling him.

39:33Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, yeah, he already know he got a - Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, take him on by 37 days before he do it. try he tried that's how they fall in love that's right yeah oh girl he they all in the group chat girl he's such a gentleman he ain't even try nothing what hey hey he took me out to eat dropped me off at home didn't try to come in or nothing yeah i ain't trying to be a name that's me i meet you on monday you're gonna touch every wall in the house on tuesday i ain't trying to come on every wall hey my head up on top of the ceiling fan huh what we talking about that time y 'all right here the booty bandit don't don't turn it on model they don't want to drown yeah yeah come on man come on ocho man fancy hey chat see i keep telling y 'all i keep telling y 'all is ocho joe whoa no no no hey um this this this no this i'm not number one i'm just not about wasting no time what we wasting time for.

40:38You want to get to know her. Get to know what? You want to get to know about her. Get to know what, Joe? Because there's nothing I'm going to find out about her, getting to know her. That's going to change me, Wanda. You know?

40:52Shannon Sharpe:So why have to go so soon when you can wait like a week? Because she's going to do the same thing. Hey, Joe. If she's going to do the same thing, what the hell are we waiting for? When I go to Dunkin' Donuts, I want more donuts. I don't care nothing about what's feeling in the middle. When you get to know people, that's all the feeling in the middle. I don't care about that. I want the goddamn donut. Okay, I got you. I got you. I got you. You see what I'm saying? Joe the same chat. Y 'all see how Joe will? How Joe will. I'm telling y 'all, y 'all sleep on Joe. Y 'all let Joe that shy. Hey, he the cool bro.

41:29Shannon Sharpe:Hey. Nah, nah, nah. Oh, no. I see y 'all game. I see what's going on. I'm like a flux in between both of y 'all. I ain't like Ocho. I ain't trying that one night. I'm patient. He's like my game. Poison patient. I'm patient. I ain't in no rush to do nothing. Joe, but see, you got to realize, Joe, I wasn't a starter either. I sat the bench. Hey, I got to pay this to Joe. There you go. There you go. You know what? You know what? You know what? You know what I understand? See, this is the problem with y 'all, right? As you think about waiting around and trying to see and doing things the right way and getting to know.

Like if it's too easy, I'm cool. I'm cool, I'm sorry, I'm cool. Hey Joe, yeah. How you, Joe, it might be a situation where you the only one that she may wait.

47:07Shannon Sharpe:You ain't thought about that though, DJ. You ain't thought about that. Oh Joe, I'm just saying. Hey, that's the game they play, man. They, hey, hold on, Uncle Joe. They know who to play with like that. You hear me? because some opportunities you not gonna get as often depending on who the individual is trying to holler at you play that way well you know what you ain't really who i want so i know i can play with you like that yes yes some dude man it's some dude oh man you wait who man girl next time for that man i don't know why y 'all keep trying to put me at number one with father day around the corner no matter or if was high school college or the pros what game do you wish your dad was at oh i like that one miami beach high school versus highly miami lakes the quarterback rohan davy was a quarterback at that time for highly miami lakes it was my first playoff game as a high schooler the one game my grandfather didn't attend he you know obviously he had gotten killed or earlier that day when I'm preparing to go to the game.

48:19And that's the one game I wish he had been to. He was always on the sideline, you know. One time he wasn't there. I obviously kind of – when I'm young like that, you don't think anything is wrong. You just think, okay, he missed the game finally. And, man, pops have passed away, man. He got shot. For me, sorry to hear that, though, Joe.

48:42Shannon Sharpe:I never hear that. Remember Ron Davion? Huh? Yeah, yeah, yeah. With the LSU. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He played with the Patriots. Yeah. Damn. And they whooped their ass. For me, it would probably be my last high school game. High school was the best to me. Okay, old Joe. I had fun in college, don't get me wrong. Met some cool cats. The pros obviously was great. But high school was so organic, bro, because it was guys who I really grew up with and played ball with. But my last high school game was a championship game against North Little Rock, who was our rival. We were one, they were two. It couldn't get no better than that.

49:22Shannon Sharpe:It couldn't get no better than that. And when I'm talking about, boy, we stomped a mud hole in them folks. Oh, man. I wish my pops would have been there, bro. But it's no better feeling than that. I still got the game. I had it on cassette. I got to put it on a disc to where I watch it from time to time. I don't know about y 'all, but I enjoy watching a lot of them old games I played in high school college even a pro I I need you know what Joe I need to go get to get some of that high school I mean college I put that a mean You know what I I would probably say Yeah, I would like to see him but the Super Bowl Because I wanted him to see his son yeah, the Super Bowl Yeah and to have my dad to have my dad because i'd like i'd ask mike um my dad has never really seen me play um can i have him on the sideline because i really never i really never ask right stuff like that yeah i mean my homeboys come i would get they'd get passed i get i always kept my homeboys on the sideline you get your homeboys on the sideline joe yeah absolutely and You know - My homeboys always stayed on the sideline.

50:41Matter of fact, even still to this day, remember I had butter on the sideline? Yeah. Yeah, I mean, yeah, say Cincinnati boy, they can do no wrong in my ass, man. The fact that I don't abuse it, Uncle Joe. I don't - No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

50:55Shannon Sharpe:Just - Anytime I come, it's always love. Yeah. Hey, my pops enjoyed it, bro. He, like I tell y 'all, I didn't really, really, now I seen him when I was a kid, eight, nine years old. You know, he lived with my grandparents. I used to go down there all the time. But I didn't really meet him and know who he was as a person until I was about 26 years old. I was already five years into the league. And when he came to Atlanta to live with me, he experienced anything you could, you know, especially a guy just getting out of prison, just coming from incarcerated. Bro, he lived the best life he could possibly live.

51:29Shannon Sharpe:Go to NBA, countless NBA games, countless All-Star games. Man, that man had a ball, bro. But my high school years, I wish, you know, to some degree, he could have seen some of that. That's what it's about. For them to experience that. That's what it's about. I'm 29, and my grandmother used to always say, players change, but the game stays the same. As a kid, I didn't understand, but I do now. Hello. Hey, the game will always be the game. It is. You better learn to play it or we'll play you.

52:08yeah you're right fellas right damn mocho you and my basketball game and you only want to play

52:16Shannon Sharpe:defense what the f i see why cam patterson is mad at you keep the beard going on bad cam patterson out his mind you playing that uh uh that celebrity basketball game with him Right, Ocho? Yeah, wait, which one was this? That one I think it was, cause he's a comedian, I think that one, oh, this a dude you just interviewed. Yeah, yeah. Well, he a canteen man. Man, Joe, man, this man had me laughing so hard, man. This dude say whatever's on his mind, he say. I say bro cause he tried to explain to me like a dating app I said bro I ain't got no dating app he's like you ain't never been I said no I said the people I've met I've kind of met organically he's like I said well like you build a profile he's like well you just explained it and people like hey I said bro I understand how debit card works I ain't never had one people don't believe that I don't have I don't have PayPal and cash apps and all that stuff and a debit card.

53:28Shannon Sharpe:I'm like, when debit cards first came out, Joe, I don't know if you – they still did do this, but they used to charge you. They would charge you a fee, like$1 or$2, to withdraw your money. I said, hold on, you going to charge me money to withdraw my money? I'm like, no, I don't want no card. No, I don't want no card. But, no, he funny, man. This dude here, boy. I was laughing. He had me back from shooting his shot at Meg to his scene in the movie with Kevin Hart. I mean, he was just, he a funny dude. He a character. It's my 24th birthday. I would love a shout out from the big three. Happy 24th, bro.

54:13Shannon Sharpe:Happy 24th, my boy. Happy 24th. You and your lady got something special. You know, you got something up in the sleeve. but happy 24th birthday. I came across a video with Ocho on TV with Unc. Can Ash play the clip when Ocho took his phone from Unc and said, how you going to tell me I ain't Hall of Fame worthy? Give me my phone, child, please. Oh, I remember that. Hey, remember Unc? I was on there with you and Skip? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Hey, that was fun. Hey, Joe, I snatched my phone quick. Give my goddamn phone, man.

54:52Shannon Sharpe:Well, it's simple. We know who Jalen Brunson was talking about, the same WNBA coach who said you need a 1A player to win a championship. Guys, okay, so how many Jalen Brunsons have been able to do this? Y 'all make it seem like it was so far out of the realm of possibility what she was saying. So in the 80-year history, you've had a guy 6 '1 or below win three championships as the lead dog. No, you had two, because Steph is like 6 '3". But if you say 6 '3 or under, you've had three guys in 80 years. Steph Curry, Isaiah Thomas, Jalen Brunson. Jalen Brunson's probably the shortest of the three. She didn't say anything wrong, guys.

55:40Shannon Sharpe:Right.

55:44Shannon Sharpe:Jalen is a phenomenal player. They did a great job of constructing a team around him. Look at what he had in order. Same thing with Isaiah. Joe Dumars can play defense. John Sally can play defense. Dennis Rodman can play defense. Steph was built totally different. They got shooters. But they had some guys, Draymond, play defense. They had some guys that could play D a little. Mainly Draymond, Clay Thompson. but come on y 'all make it seem like she just arbitrarily pulled this out she didn't so three times in 80 years Isaiah won what was that 89-90 Steph won 15 17-18 and then Brunson won in 26 think about that Jalen Brunson is phenomenal.

56:40Shannon Sharpe:He is a phenomenal player. Kudos.

56:47Shannon Sharpe:But y 'all make it seem like she just said, oh, she's like, because we hadn't seen it. You'd only seen it twice prior to him doing it. And I think Brunson needed that too. He needed that. He needed that. He needed to carry that weight. The naysay of saying that he can't do this, he can't do that. and he put belief in himself and went out there and done it. But let me ask you a question, Joe. How many teams you think are going to build their team around a 6 '1 or lower point guard? It ain't going to be many, bro. And I just asked the question, what, night before last? Or what might have been yesterday?

57:31The fact that he was able to win one and he's only 6 '1. You think that would change the opportunities the point guards that are short.

57:39Shannon Sharpe:Because you base it on history, that's three times in 80 years. So you look at a situation, Ocho, every, what, 26 years. Oh, excuse me, every 29 years. That'll happen.

58:00Shannon Sharpe:Kudos to him, though.
