2:10Shannon Sharpe:Just as we predicted, the NBA has rescinded Luka Doncic's 16th technical foul, allowing him to play Monday night's road game against the Detroit Pacers. I don't think we see. I mean Detroit Pistons. I'm not Pacers. The Pistons. I don't think we are anyone is surprised by that the Lakers are playing too well Luka is a super super superstar the last thing you want him to do is leading the league in scoring
2:37Chad Johnson:that's going to be a big game for him they want the Lakers to keep winning too
2:44Shannon Sharpe:anybody that's been in Atlanta y 'all know if you Atlanta you a guy you know about the Claremont Lounge you know exactly what I'm talking about 70? Man, so my mocho. They ain't got stretch marks. They got problems. Oh, man. Come on. I tell you, Joe, you like, I'm not. I ain't no way. What you doing now? You know, I ain't.
3:19Man.
3:19Shannon Sharpe:man.
3:22Shannon Sharpe:Because you got a staple, an institution somewhere. And you say, man, you just got to see it. You just got to see it.
3:31Chad Johnson:Yeah. I might have to pull up over to the Claremont. Yeah, how many times, how many times you went there?
3:38Shannon Sharpe:I ain't went but like once or twice. Cause one first time, you gotta go the second time to make sure what you saw the first time was legit. Make sure, and I went on a different night. So you got to make sure, because you know what? It might have been old-timers night. Right, right, right. So I just had to make sure what I saw the first time. Like, yeah, this is what they got. Hey, but y 'all shout out, man. Man. Hey, you know, y 'all got me hyped, man. You know what? After the show, I'm going to go to Booby Trap tonight. What, you going to go eat? Man, you finna go. No, you finna take your ass to bed.
4:11Shannon Sharpe:It's 11 o 'clock. Nah, nah, nah. I'm going for real. I'm not playing. It's two years. Yeah, you ain't going nowhere. Hey, Joe. Hey, somebody put the – it's on punts. It's on punts.
4:22Chad Johnson:Yeah, they got it up there.
4:27Shannon Sharpe:Joe, I'm telling you. I'm telling you now. No, I don't get been in no five times. I've been there twice. Lakers March, they're 11-1, 125, 121.5. Offensive rating, 112.8. Defensive rating, Luka is averaging 37 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists. Austin Reeves is averaging 21 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists. LeBron is averaging 19 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists. And the Lakers are. So what you think now, Joe, after what you've seen over the last, let's just say the last, basically last month since March, you think the Lakers are playing themselves into being contenders?
5:08Chad Johnson:I don't know about like championship contenders. I think they can get out the first round depending on who they play against.
5:19Chad Johnson:But champions, that's saying a lot. That's saying a lot, man. I know they playing good. They feeling good. They looking good. But I don't know about contenders. You think they contenders?
5:36Shannon Sharpe:I don't know. I think they can beat everybody in the West. I don't really think they can beat San Antonio or Golden. OKC. OKC.
5:47Chad Johnson:But I've seen Luka take down OKC by himself.
5:52Shannon Sharpe:Him and Kyrie, I saw that.
5:53Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah.
5:55Shannon Sharpe:I saw that.
5:56Chad Johnson:OKC grow.
5:57Shannon Sharpe:So I know what Luka can do. Yeah. The question is, he's going to need Austin because Kyrie was able to have some big games. He's going to need LeBron.
6:07Chad Johnson:Yeah. efficient.
6:11Shannon Sharpe:Yes. Somebody tell my book. Yeah, they got they got a couple of bullet wounds. They got some little exit wounds. Yeah, they do. Little stab marks. Somebody put out a cigarette or something on them. It's OK. OK.
6:27Shannon Sharpe:We go with Steph Curry teased the idea of possibly joining the Charlotte Hornets after his father's Dale Jersey was retired by the franchise earlier this week. Always keep your options opens. Like you said, I know what that means when you get your jersey retired. It's immortalized. Nobody should ever be able to touch it, but I'm sure he would make an exception. He would make a special exception if that were the case. Joe?
6:50Chad Johnson:You saying if Steph Curry go to Charlotte and get his dad's jersey out of the rafters? I don't see that.
7:00Shannon Sharpe:They'd definitely be sold out every night.
7:02Chad Johnson:I know he's from there. I know that's home for him, but why? I can't see that. I can't, I'm sorry. I can't see it. I don't either.
7:09Shannon Sharpe:I don't see him playing anywhere but Golden State. Yeah. Steph is in an era where everybody's kind of moving around. Steph is a one-Jersey team. One-Jersey guy?
7:20Chad Johnson:I don't know about that neither, fellas.
7:24Shannon Sharpe:Do you think Steph might be able to dip? I don't know.
7:28Chad Johnson:I think it might be possible. I mean, I think the Warriors probably, if they ain't making a play in, Arkin Ocho, they ain't in the playoffs, I was just like, man, don't let him go out like that. I think you can trade him, and he can still contend for a title. You put him on the right team.
7:47Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah, for sure.
7:48Chad Johnson:Yeah.
7:50Shannon Sharpe:Absolutely.
7:51Chad Johnson:I just think that course is kind of ran when it comes to Golden State. Yeah, I don't think they're going to be done. Yeah, they ain't getting back there. I don't see that. Nope. That's a wrap. Yeah.
8:03Shannon Sharpe:All right. It's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q. Hey. We're lost. It feels like we're going round in circles. I'm going to ask that man for directions. 12:00Shannon Sharpe:Before we get to our super chats, we got some video voicemails from our Discord. Make sure you join our Discord to submit videos for us to possibly show. This one comes from Arkansas15. Checking back in with us and letting us know he's for sure high. Let's take a listen.
12:17Chad Johnson:What's good with a nightcap? Yes, definitely smoking good. I'm going to hop back on here and say, woo pig suey, baby.
12:29Chad Johnson:yeah yeah whoopee that boy on cloud nine over there
12:34Shannon Sharpe:I know I said hey just make sure there's no confusion
12:37Chad Johnson:that boy sparked up over there look at it yeah whoopee this one comes from Xavier
12:45Shannon Sharpe:let's take a listen to what Xavier had to say
12:47Chad Johnson:I have two questions for you and Joe I have one question for you first question Unk when you worked with Skip in LA how did you stay disciplined with the breakfast you would post every morning, you know, to keep your body in tip top shape? And the second question is how much different is it working with Skip versus your old colleagues like Stephen A. Smith and the other people over at ESPN that you worked with? And Joe, my question I have for you is the night you made Paul Pierce touch earth. Going forward, how did the opposing team and players, like how did they, how did they defend you and like what did they draw up to defend you after you made Paul Pierce like after you embarrassed him well go ahead Joe I'll let you start for me it wasn't that you know teams did anything different obviously uh it was a great dribble move and obviously I finished the shot but I mean yeah was everybody talking about it yeah but I don't think people were I don't think teams were just coming in looking to defend me differently you know I probably had about 21 one points that game, it wasn't like I had 55 and I made them fall.
13:56Chad Johnson:You feel what I'm saying? But nonetheless, it felt great. It felt great. Yeah.
14:05Shannon Sharpe:Well, the first question is, you know, how do you stay disciplined? It's very easy because I had been eating egg whites and oatmeal since 93. And I ate egg whites and oatmeal until the pandemic happened. So let that just go to the show. I had eaten that for like 27 years. Straight egg whites and oatmeal every morning for breakfast.
14:27Chad Johnson:For 27 straight years.
14:29Shannon Sharpe:Yep, from 1993 until late February of 2020 when the pandemic happened. So it was nothing for me. And plus, because I was like, you know, because we had to be there before the pandemic happened, Joe. We had to be there. We had production meetings at 4.30. In the morning? Yes! Woo! So it got hard. So it was easy when LeBron was on the East Coast because they're playing 430 ball games. Right. I'm out. This man come to L.A., they're playing 730. So now I'm up 10, and I got to get right back up at 4th, get to the place. I only live two miles from the place, so it only took me about if I caught the lights just right, I could get to work in three minutes.
15:17Shannon Sharpe:And so it was easy for me to stay disciplined. I can eat the same thing. If somebody said, okay, Shannon, you can only eat this for the rest. It's easy. I can eat turkey, rice, broccoli. I can eat egg whites, toast, oatmeal. I can eat that every day for the rest of my life. Debating with Skip versus debating Stephen A. When I debated Skip on Undisputed, it was a real debate show. It's me versus him. Sometimes he's the defense. I'm the prosecution. Sometimes he's the prosecution. I mean, I'm the defense. He's the prosecution. And I'm really, we're literally trying to, I'm literally trying to win.
15:57Shannon Sharpe:I'm building my case to beat him. And if I can't beat him, I'm going to punch holes in his argument and then have his fall flat. Stephen A is more conversational. It's not, I'm trying to beat Stephen A. I'm not trying to beat him. I do what I throw a fact, and it's like, okay, boom. but it was totally different because at first take, it really wasn't the debate. It was more of a conversation. Ocho, what do you think about this? Joe, what do you think about this? Shannon, what do you think about this? Stephen A., I mean, with Skip, I'm planting my flag right here and I'm not moving off this. And now you build your case, you build your argument to support what you're saying.
16:43Shannon Sharpe:So, and that's why you learn is that you never bring something into the argument that doesn't help your case. If you bring it in, it better help your case. Because if it doesn't, all you've done is strengthen his argument. And you don't want to strengthen his argument. My strongest point, I lead out with it. My next strongest, I go with that. then I'm going to flip it over to him. But the thing is that you got to do when you're in a real, real debate format is that you got to keep your train of thought all the while while keeping a little bit what he says. So now I'm like, okay. I'm writing it down.
17:28Shannon Sharpe:I'm listening. Now, before I get to my point, I'm going to say, now, this is what you said. You said this right here. You said LeBron didn't play that well. Now, mind you, you do realize they scored 30 points in the fourth quarter, right? You do, LeBron, realize LeBron scored 16 points and he assisted on another six. So that's 22 of the 30 points LeBron had a key hand in. But you say LeBron didn't play well? I would say that's pretty good. If somebody gets 22 or 30. So if anybody, if another player, a team scores 30 points and another player has a hand and 22 of those 30. Did he play well? So that's how you have to build your argument.
18:13Shannon Sharpe:But it's just different with first take. You know me. I have a bunch of shenanigans. I'm coming with a goat mask. I got a crown on. I got a cloak on. I got a scepter. Ocho, I'm the only guy. When did you ever see a guy? I got Hennessy. I got weed. I got gummies. I got a hot plate. I got all that up there. They let me do it. I was like, okay, let's see how far we can push the envelope. So it's just different. Obviously, they wasn't going to let me bring no cognac, no gummies, no weed. I had actual weed. Yeah. I had actually gummies with TAC in them on the desk. I'm drinking at 630 in the morning.
19:04Shannon Sharpe:I got pancakes. I got sausage. I got eggs. I got a sign that said Club Shay Shay featuring Goat James.
19:16Shannon Sharpe:So, I – and when I did this, I had no idea that it was going to take off because you don't know. I'm just having a good time. Broncos beat the Cowboys. I want to celebrate. ain't no cigar anything open but convenience store at 3 30 at 4 o 'clock in the morning man you know what so i get some black in my other get some swisher sweets i grab a bottle of liquor and next thing you know i got but i got but uh yeah yeah yeah yeah it's gone and from that day on i've been on ever since I don't give a sense. Aaron Wilson, what do you think about Darryl Green trying to make the Olympic flag team? I'm rooting for him.
20:06Shannon Sharpe:Oh, DG. I came in at 90. DG came in at 83. So, DG like 65. He got to be 65. He trying to make the what team?
20:19Chad Johnson:Flag team.
20:20Shannon Sharpe:The flag team for the Olympics at 28. So, that's two years away. So he'll be 67-68.
20:26Chad Johnson:Hold on, the flag football team? Yeah. I seen Tom out there throwing that thing, boy. Man, they got their head whooped, Joe. Hey, you said, boy, they molly walk. Hey, remember when we talked about that on the show? Yes. What did I say would happen? It doesn't matter.
20:43Shannon Sharpe:They can't play. Yeah, they can score, but they can't stop the other team from scoring.
20:46Chad Johnson:Nah, yeah. You talking about how they dipping low and all that in there? Yeah. They picked them off twice. they got two pick sixes. Yeah, and just the game in general. I mean, Joe, the nuances of flag football is completely different. It's completely different. And we would lose every time. And me and Uncle had a conversation about this. Maybe it was last year. Maybe the year before last year. And I said, man, them boys will whoop us. We can get our best players in the NFL and play them in flag football. And they would destroy us every time. And that was a small example of it. Yeah.
21:25Shannon Sharpe:Anthony Bracken Jr. Who is your all-time Duke starting five? Kristen Laidner and Grant Hill. That's two spots.
21:35Chad Johnson:You going with Hurley at the one?
21:40Shannon Sharpe:You going Hurley or Kyrie?
21:42Chad Johnson:No, no, yeah.
21:42Shannon Sharpe:Either Kyrie or J. Will. Oh, Jason Williams. Jason Williams. Jason Williams. Oh, I forgot about Jason Williams. Jason Williams might be the second or third best player in Duke history. Why you bulljiving? Listen, people don't realize how good Jason – huh? Before he got hurt, huh?
21:59Chad Johnson:What?
22:01Shannon Sharpe:He was a two-time consensus All-American. He was player of the year, wouldn't player of the year, AP player of the year. No, he was phenomenal. Okay, okay, okay. Led him to a national championship. No, hell no, Jason. Oh, he definitely – Okay, now we got two spots. We got two spots. J. Will, Grand Hill, Christian Laettner. That's three spots. Okay, you got Johnny Dawkins. You got Tommy Amaker. You got Kyrie. You got Bancaro. You got Colton Flagg. You got Zion Williamson. You got Allah Abdenabi. You got Cherokee Park. You can have whomever, but there are three guys that's going to be on there.
22:42Chad Johnson:Yeah, J. Will, he got to be on there. Hey, man, he was so cold, bro. You know me and him are saying high school class, so I got a chance to play with him in a couple of All-Star games. He was cold, man.
22:55Shannon Sharpe:Woo! People don't realize how good he was because Ocho, he got on a motorcycle and, you know, he wrecked himself after his rookie year, and he was never the same, and, you know, they moved on. But, boy, in college?
23:07Chad Johnson:He was like that.
23:09Shannon Sharpe:Lord, have mercy. He was absolutely like that. So who else you got? Who you got the guys?
23:16Chad Johnson:J. Will, Chris.
23:17Shannon Sharpe:Oh, we forgot about Elton Brand. Elton Brand was the first guy that had to go number one overall.
23:24Chad Johnson:Yeah. Hold on. You ain't going to put Tatum or Zion or nobody in there? They ain't making it?
23:33Shannon Sharpe:I'm saying I'm talking about college. I'm talking about just college. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, college. Cherokee, Christian Laettner, J. Will, and Grant Hill. Those three going to be on there. Now, if you want Zion, Zion was college player of the year. Who else? I want Zion. Who else is college player? Cooper Flagg was college player of the year. If you want to put Cooper Flagg, you want to put a B.I., you want to put Tatum, you want to put who? Elton Brand, I don't care. But I don't think you can have a Duke starting five without J. Will, without Grant Hill, and without Christian.
24:05Shannon Sharpe:What about J.J. Reddick? That's a – hey. J.J.
24:09Chad Johnson:That was another – didn't J.J. win player of the year? I think so. I know he was a hell of a player at Duke. Boy, you put him on that team.
24:17Shannon Sharpe:And we forgot about Danny Ferry. People don't realize how good Danny Ferry was in college. I ain't talking about the NBA. I'm not talking about the NBA. They said the starting five at Duke. So it's only based on what you did at Duke. I think Danny Ferry was the number two overall draft pick. I think Purvis was number one.
24:38Chad Johnson:Yeah. He's supposed to be like that.
24:45Chad Johnson:Man. That's a hard one.
24:48Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Duke had a five. I mean, look at all the number one overall picks they had. Elton Brand, Kyrie, Zion, Paulo Banqueiro.
25:00Chad Johnson:What pick did J. Will go? J.
25:04Shannon Sharpe:Will went two.
25:05Chad Johnson:Who went before him? I can't. They had to be the O2 draft. Who was that? So that was after us. That was after us. That was after the high schoolers.
25:18Shannon Sharpe:The high school was still coming. That was before the high schoolers because LeBron was 0-3. Dwight Howard was 0-4.
25:23Chad Johnson:No, I'm saying, but, you know, my class 0-1 was Tyson Chandler,
25:27Shannon Sharpe:Eddie Curry, and Kwame Brown.
25:30Chad Johnson:Those three high schoolers were in the top five picks. So then 0-2 is when J. Will came in. I don't know. I can't remember. Was it Yao Ming? O2?

28:49Shannon Sharpe:Because 03 was LeBron. 04 was Dwight Howard.
28:54Chad Johnson:0-2-1. You got me?
28:59Shannon Sharpe:Yow Ming, one, J. Will, two, Mike Dunleavy, Duke. Yup. Man, Duke had some players, man. A lot.
29:10Chad Johnson:Yeah.
29:12Shannon Sharpe:I just don't know how you keep, I just don't know how you keep J. Will, Christian Laettner. Christian Laettner is a Mount Rushmore Duke player. Yeah. He's a Mount Rushmore Duke player. That's how good he was. Sheldon Pope, will LSU retire Flagee Jersey? Great job, Big 3 Nightcap, late night sports show out today. Oh, when the Big 3 Nightcap merch coming out?
29:41Shannon Sharpe:Flagee, will they retire her number? As a freshman, they won the national championship. Angel Reese was on that team. They still in the tournament? I think it would be a better chance had she won college player of the year. She's most outstanding player, all American or something like that. I think it's going to be hard when you're not a first-team All-American. I don't think she's ever been conference player of the year. I don't think she's ever been national player of the year, something like that. I mean, to retire your jersey, that's normally retired for an A.J. Wilson, a Caitlin Clark a Brittany Grinder a Maya Moore a Diana Taurasi a Juju you know she had a phenomenal career but I don't know what you want we try to put together what we gonna do next Carlos Flo, Ocho Aiso in chat what is the best March Madness buzzer beater y 'all ever witnessed Ocho, Palm Beach County, love you, boy.
30:52Shannon Sharpe:That Villanova one. Villanova 2016. They beat UNC.
30:59Chad Johnson:Yeah, at the buzzer. Dude made that shot. That's yeah. Ain't nothing better than that.
31:07Shannon Sharpe:One rival, 83. When Wittenberg shot that shot and Lorenzo Charles dunked it home. They beat five Slamma Jamma. He missed it when he missed it, and he caught it out there, right? Caught it and dunked it. Lorenzo Charles dunked it. Yeah, I remember that.
31:27Shannon Sharpe:Those are the two. Those are the only two.
31:34Shannon Sharpe:I mean, there have been some. I mean, you're talking about those were to win the national championship. There have been some other buzzer. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And Joe and, you know, opening round, you know, second round, Sweet 16, Elite 8, but that. Oh, you remember Suggs hit that shot about four or five years ago in the Semifinals.
31:52Chad Johnson:When he was with Gonzaga? Yeah.
31:54Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yeah, he hit that shot. He kissed it from 30. Yeah. So they've been, we mentioned U.S. Reid, Arkansas, when he beat Louisville in 81. So they've been some buzzer beaters, but to actually win the national championship. Don't get any better than that. Trey Campbell, Uncle Ocho Iso, love y 'all. Keep up the great work. past midnight today. My eighth anniversary with my beautiful wife, my beautiful lady, Samantha. Can y 'all give her a shout out? Absolutely. Happy eighth anniversary. Trey, you and Samantha, hopefully you guys did something, man, fun today. Eight years, that's a long time. I'm sure you put it so.
32:35Shannon Sharpe:Y 'all probably been together a decade. And to be together that long, that means you know what? You gotta adapt, you gotta grow together, and you gotta wanna stay together.
32:45Chad Johnson:Man, congrats.
32:46Shannon Sharpe:Right now, we've got too many options, Ocho. It's too easy to just like, F this, I'm out of here. Oh, oh yeah. People say Rio Chalmers, but Rio Chalmers just said it to overtime. It didn't win the game. Nehemiah JP, please get Coach Prime to get on with you three. I pay money for that episode. Justin Clark 76, Patino and Nolan are identical with their coaching styles. 84 feet, man to man, fatigue, mace, cowards. Gotta play D. Swo underscore nerve, gotta be two something.
33:24Chad Johnson:Hello.
33:26Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
33:32Chad Johnson:Take you back, huh?
33:37Shannon Sharpe:Damn. Gotta be 223. Man. To be right for me.
33:43Chad Johnson:Hey, boy, that.
33:45Shannon Sharpe:228, you're underweight.
33:46Chad Johnson:That's a big.
33:46Shannon Sharpe:You know what I'm saying, Joe? 228, you're underweight.
33:48Chad Johnson:That's a big girl, boy, 220.
33:50Shannon Sharpe:But you, hey, six foot?
33:51Chad Johnson:Oh yeah, she's six foot now. That's different. Oh, that you. Six one, six two. Oh, you, you, you. That's how you was coming back then? Yeah.
34:02Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey, hey, look here, man. You need to be sturdy. I got tired of me putting, man. Hey, you remember how King Kong ripped the dinosaur Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I can't put no, come on now. You gotta be starting. Gotta be built tough. I owe them some good memories, boy. 828 style, if a man has a woman under 145, she's not a grown woman. She's a high school girl. Aw, man, come on. I don't know about that now.
34:37Chad Johnson:Come on.
34:39Shannon Sharpe:I mean, they've been, I mean. how tall is she?
34:44Chad Johnson:Right.
34:47Shannon Sharpe:I mean, she's 5 '5152. If she's 5 '5152 and she's 140, she's caked up. She's solid, solid.
35:00Yeah.
35:01Shannon Sharpe:I mean, she's thick of the cold oatmeal.
35:06Shannon Sharpe:Nah, you start getting on up there 5 '8, 5 '9, 5 '10.
35:09Chad Johnson:All right, that's easy. There's some walking around there, boy. Oof, boy.
35:19Shannon Sharpe:Man, hey, you know it's sundress too. It's right around the corner. Look at the chair, right around the corner. Sundress, right around the corner. With them open toe sandals. Whoo, whoo, whoo. I can't see nothing. Boy, ain't nothing like boy to - I can't see nothing. I hear what y 'all talking about, but I can't see. Yeah, man, Ocho. Oh no. You can see, brother. Man, my head gonna be straight ahead, Joe. I can't see. That's me, Ocho. What'd you say? You got them blinders on? Man, I got them blinders on, Joe. I don't want no problems. Unless you cross in front of me. You know what I'm saying? I stop at traffic.
36:01Shannon Sharpe:I stop at stopsizing traffic like Ocho. So you know you got a YouTube pedestrian. A YouTube pedestrian. You walk from... Good Lord, have mercy. Hey, Joe, and even then, I'm still looking straight ahead. Hey, hey. Hey, hey, you know... Hey, the thing... Hey, they be talking about, oh, you don't pretend like you don't see that. Right, right, right, right. What are you talking about? Hey, you know what's funny? Depending on who you're dating, they're pointing it out before you do. Yeah. Say what you think about that one.
36:33Chad Johnson:She right.
36:34Shannon Sharpe:Not long.
36:36Chad Johnson:She's nice. She's nice.
36:37Shannon Sharpe:You know how they're in the church, they die long.
36:39Chad Johnson:Hey, if you can't point that out to your girl, y 'all can't laugh and joke about it, man. Yeah, that ain't the one. I don't like all the seriousness. Yeah, that ain't the one. Yeah.
36:51Shannon Sharpe:But I mean, hey, I got the stuff. I got the stuff, hey, look at that.
36:55Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah, man. Dump truck.
37:03Shannon Sharpe:Woo!
