In short
FullyChop (Chicago drill rapper) discusses his name/origin, growing up in a constant shootout environment on the South Side (Back of the Yards/59th & Pulaski area), early music influences, how he started recording, and the “backdoor king” rumors. He also talks about street culture (guns/phones/chains getting taken), school life, losing close friends (especially Q50/Lil’ 50), and his views on media narratives and “couch curse” claims. He connects his rise to PGF Nook’s breakout (“What Up”), and shares who he wants on future projects.
Guests
FullyChop, a South Side Chicago rapper/artist associated with Motown/PGF Muda and the “Fully Chopped” name he created for Instagram and music. Host: Remo (No Jumper interviewer). Mentioned figures: PGF Nook, Q50/Lil’ 50 (his “twin”), Keso, Lil Speedy, Lil’ Javion, G Herbo/Bibi, Chief Keef, Polo G, Lil Durk, Lil Baby, and DJU.
Key claims
He says he’s not a “backdoor king” and denies taking guns/chains from others. He claims Q50/Lil’ 50 was his twin and everyday home before Q50’s death, which pushed him harder into music. He says “couch curse” talk is nonsense. He says “What Up” put PGF on the map and brought more eyes (good and bad).
Notable examples
Grandma telling him to stay on the ground during shootings; his first rap push coming from being around PGF Nook and studio sessions; recording a song while sick with a raspy voice; rumors about Keso/Lil Speedy and “pipes getting took”; and Polo G’s involvement in the “What Up” remix and chain-grabbing meme.

And for all my fans of Chicago Drill out there, Chicago in general, we have one of the most requested interviews in recent memory. Fully Chopped is on the podcast. Know that. How's it going? Know that. This is exciting, honestly, because I feel like your name comes up so much in terms of when we ask people what people are actually really listening to in Chicago and stuff, your name just constantly coming up.
1:28And so I'm pretty excited we're getting this one in. You know that they fuck with me. You feel like you're one of the hottest Y-Eans coming out of Chicago right now? I don't really do that Y-Ean shit, fool. They be saying that, but shit, whatever y 'all label us do. I don't know. Nah, man, yeah, I don't know. I ain't no Y-Ean, though. I ain't going to say I ain't no young nigga, but I'm going to get the look. No, I ain't going to say that. Like, you know, I'm going to call myself Y-Ean type shit. All the motherfuckers, they probably do, though. You don't know. So how you get your name fully shopped anyway?
1:55Who gave you that? It just, hmm. You named yourself or somebody? Yeah, I named my A on Sosa. I named my own name Fully Chopped. I came up with it. Like, no. And this is when you guys started rapping? Like, have you been going off that? Nah. Have you been going about that? Nah, I've been going off Fully Chopped. My Sosa, I've been going off Fully Chopped. I just named my Instagram that. And then when I started rapping and shit, I put my shit to Fully Chopped. First, my shit was Luskkoom folk. Then I changed my shit because, you know, the other rappers was Luskkoom. So I changed my shit to fully chop them for them.
2:29There's so many people in Chicago over the years who have been doing something with the Skoom brand name. I feel like if you want to stand out these days, like it kind of got retired when Skoom passed. True or false. I don't know. Okay. So what part of Chicago are you from, actually? I'm from South South. I'm from back of the yards. I'm from 59th Palina for all through that bitch. That's really all shit. 50 from 50, 50 Woods. Hermitage. like back ass and shit like that. That's all our shit. We want that bitch. Ain't good about it. They be calling it Motown? Yeah, Motown. Why they call it? Where that name come from?
3:06Shit, you gotta ask him. You gotta ask his ass. Tell us who he is for the people that I know. They're Mo's. I'm PGF Muda. Right, because the name that comes to mind when I think about people repping Motown is PGF Nook. And of course, you guys have connections there. You got PGF on your arm right there. Yeah, that shit. that shit just, you know, that shit come from a long, you know, long time ago, so they been named that shit Motown and shit. Bro, we just, you know, grew up in it. Bro. Right, for sure. So, okay, what was your family life like growing up out there? I ain't gonna laugh for it. It ain't gonna laugh for it.
3:46When I was growing up, I was like, it used to be shootouts back to back for it. So it's, I was like, fat, shootout, I gotta get on the ground and all type of shit. Every time I'm outside, they coming through that bitch. Let's show you no I'm coming through that bitch. I'm so sorry. They fucking shooting them up. I'm so sorry. Every time. I ain't go about. Every day a shootout. Shootout. Shootout. I'm like six. I'm very so old. I'm six years old. They shooting every day. So like a lot of your earliest memories are just this crazy shit going on outside your door. Yeah. I'm so sorry. I'm playing.
4:15They know how little kids are playing in the dirt. They come through that bitch. Switching that bitch. Now I got to run to the house. I got to run. Run the career ball type. You get on the floor. All goofy shit like that. I'm so sorry. So at an early age, you kind of knew you was in a bad environment. Or did it seem totally normal? It was like a war zone over the ankle. I was so sick. War zone through that bitch. I was so sick. But did you feel like it was normal because you're so young and you're growing up in it? Shit, fool. All out. Shit, I was young as hell. I ain't really new. All out was just getting on the floor.
4:46I ain't know what's going on the whole time. They shooting. I can hit a shot, but I don't know what's going on type of shit. I'm fooling them. My grandma used to tell me to get on the ground. Stay on the ground for like five minutes on Sosa. Then get back up on shit like that. So at what age did it register to you? Like, oh, damn, this was going on. Right. Like, eight, nine. I ain't go like eight, nine, four. I realized, like, I started just watching out the window, four, because my grandma used to stay, like, really in the mix, four, on Sosa, from, like, both of the aunts, like, really in the mix, four, on Sosa.
5:16I used to just be in the window, four, just watching this shit, like, quick and see how they just coming through this bitch, four, stay having shootouts, four. I'm seeing this shit on Sosa. I'm really seeing this shit blow like it was crazy for angle but I ship's great Did your parents try to like keep you in the house They didn't really want you playing outside? We only we only get playing the back in the front of shit We couldn't go nowhere after that I used to go to my homie house and play catch one catch all we always play a catch one catch No kids So what is that? Catch one catch all is like eight You know how you run it?
5:45It's eight like we touch on your team gotta catch all That's what we used to play I used to be goofy as seals back then So do you feel like you had a childhood or did you feel like everything was too crazy for you to really have that experience that a lot of people take for granted? Not had a childhood for sure, but my childhood was crazy. I was seeing some crazy shit when I was little before Angle. What's the first rap music that you remember really appreciating and enjoying? Like what I did? Like when you were young, just music you were hearing in the house or in the neighborhood? Angle, I was like who I was listening to.
6:18Yeah, yeah. I don't know. I ain't go back, but it was who I was hearing a lot. Chief Keefe, I ain't go back, I was hearing Chief Keefe a lot. G Herbo on socials, they had Bibi. When G Herbo and Bibi did that song, that she was going to see on socials. It was a long time ago. That's the only songs I was basically listening to. King Von, Crazy Story on socials. I used to stay listening to Crazy Story. It's crazy because for us, being older, we remember when Chief Keefe came out and kind of changed everything, but I feel like from your generation's standpoint, that was basically probably the soundtrack to your life from an early age.
6:52I'm full enough. Like you probably barely remember a world without Chief Keefe, music-wise. Like, at all, really. That's crazy. You ain't baby. Definitely. Okay, so, but was your dad around? You have any kind of relationship? Yeah, yeah. Okay. What was his role in your life like? Was he like a real solid, consistent part of the house? Hell yeah. Hell yeah. What did he tell you about the streets? He was just like, every time he, because he didn't really know for, I was really, being with them, he knew them and shit. He knew I was going around them and shit. I used to sneak out the house and go with them because I was hood down the street from my grandma's house.
7:36So I used to leave out the house, go with them. They ain't know my pops don't know what I'm doing type shit for. I ain't know Until they saw a picture of me For I had a big ass 54 On my soul I had a big ass 50 You know this You know the things At the trap On my soul I had a big ass 54 I took a picture with that bitch On my soul I thought My OG did not know about this I'm supposed to I get back in the house On my soul They Showed me the picture For They over whooped my ass For On my soul I ain't gonna lie Over got whooped I ain't gonna lie They just saw it on Facebook Or something Yeah like somebody Showed them I forgot her name folks he snitched on me folks on the saucers he told my OG because he had them added folks I'm thinking I'm slick you know how you add your OG and shit like that I'm thinking I'm slick folks Angola I see total me folks Angola I got whooped saucers great I couldn't get shit for Christmas really on the saucers it's that bad yo so from your perspective when he's coming around and he's real young like what's your perspective on it like are you just looking at him like damn he's hella mature for his age and he really want to be around this shit and I could tell like you know his people his cousin you know he used to be around us so I already knew like he was different him and his brother I already you know I already see it I used to tell him all the time like y 'all different but I could see something you know something about them they different but was there anything you didn't let him do like hell yeah we didn't let them get in our music videos none of that like he was in SRT PGM Nook SRT he blew up my face in that bitch phone so that's how you know I was a shorty He didn't want the op number to get on to me.
9:13Because I used to be walking all through that bitch, fool. So I fucked with Nook for doing that on Sosa. Because if they even saw my face, I used to go to school with they eyes, fool. On Sosa, I used to go to school back there. On Mr. Tops. That shit was crazy. So Nook was somebody that you were looking at from a young age? Sosa ain't going back. Hell yeah. At the time, I'm a little with Seal. I used to tell my OG, take me to the park. Because you had Nook up there on Sosa. I used to, you know, kid. I'm going to stay listening to the songs. Every song that came out, I was just bumping my head.
9:43So that's all I used to do, bump my head, me and my brother. So how old were you when What Up blew up? Dang, I was so old I was. I was like 11, 10. And what? Like 12, 13, 12. Yeah, you was like 13. 13, 12, yeah, 13, 12. I was a game here when What Up came out. I never came outside. Yeah. Dang, I was a game here. it ain't go back. So what changed that song or impacted that song having a hood instantly like after it blew up? Like, what changes did you notice? Oh, I ain't gonna lie. I ain't. And one of those changes for real, like, Phonum was like still them type shit. You see, I had Phonum, it was acting how they got up.
10:25Now it was still them on Phonum. No, I'm just saying like, cause like now the motion coming. Like, yeah, motion before What Up like in y 'all area. Like when What Up came, it dropped, everybody starting to know pgf on the map now like what was the difference like soon that song at least maybe from your perspective yeah i know like that shit was it was decent like it was just like a look like it was decent it was decent just like a lot of eyes on us and shit on folks you know we traveling the world and shit yeah that shit i'm for that shit was decent for and that could be a good thing and a bad thing a lot of eyes on y 'all right yeah that's a good thing and bad thing You don't know who Everybody know you But you don't know everybody Everybody know your face As soon as they see you That's him But you don't know That's how it be Nah for sure You don't know this nigga You don't know his ass from a can of pay But I feel like for Nook Man that was such a crazy time period He just had multiple songs is just going so big.
11:31When I was talking to him, I realized that he felt like he hadn't really seen anybody from his area really blow up like that. I don't know how much guidance he had, but it definitely felt like... Yo, shit, always doing that. Yo, shit, always doing that. You got canoeing issues going on here? Man, I'm going to be like, fuck with the papers. I'll be rolling woods, so I'm going to be... No, but I mean, that just was a crazy time and I mean I feel like you know Nook had to go through some growing pains like I don't know if he necessarily has anybody like really telling him how to move in terms of how to make his career last.
12:07Oh no he I mean he did like but you know that's just he his own man like you know so like he he got this shit his you know like he been on the rap and shit he got this shit itself you know he feel like you really can't tell you really can't tell Nook nothing though like but you can but you can't like he not gonna take no advice from you if you ain't you know like you gotta to be somebody you got to be showing him like you know like well you got to show him what you talking before like you can't just be telling him shit he gonna treat he gonna treat you like a goofy like you gonna be like you talking to me for nothing like if you ain't in a better position than him or you know like could teach him something he not gonna listen to you folks he also stands out to me in my head is like one of the earlier people i've seen in the videos where everybody in the video had mad modifications on their straps number one and number two like even from just talking to him he had such like a militant like doesn't give a fuck attitude about the street stuff like he didn't go into crazy detail or anything but like his perspective on it was just like whoa like you're super young and you are like a fucking warrior dude man
13:18Yeah, I mean, for sure. Free, free nut. No bullshit. Okay, so like, were you getting in trouble in school and everything like that? Or what kind of kid were you? I was the class clown for Angle Bob. I was bad as hell. Running the halls. Every time I'm lying to my teachers, I got to use the bathroom. So some run the halls all through that bitch. so I never used to be in class what high school you went to? high school I ain't been going to high school you didn't make it to high school? what grade you dropped out? I ain't really dropped out I ain't dropped out I ain't dropped out though so you still in school?
14:04yeah oh so you do online shit? when did you stop physically going to school? though? Like, what grade? It was at least freshman. I was at least freshman. Something like that. It was at least freshman. Was it the situation you just started going? Because a lot of niggas from Chicago, they say they started going to school because the ops and shit made it hard. shit like that. Yeah, shit like that. I'm getting bigger for it. After I was getting bigger for it, I was getting bigger for it. So it was harder for you to get to school? Hell no, it wasn't hard for me to get to school. Hell no. But like, it's like, you know, or come with going to school, like, come with going to school.
14:45You gotta be repaired from going to school on Sosa because motherfuckers losing their life on Sosa. I ain't going like, on Sosa. You heard what J-Bo said? You forgot to earn his hat on Sosa. I ain't going like that, you know? Sosa ain't going like, you know, going to school, getting cooked, coming from school. Hell no, we ain't going about, hell no. At a certain point, it just seems too risky to be running up in there. Hell yeah. Do they metal detect you going into the schools and shit? It depends. Like, high school, yeah, but like, eighth grade, like, eighth grade, seventh, like, no. You get through that bitch.
15:19You get through that bitch. I'm sorry, you get through that bitch. Real shit. High school, you ain't cool. High school, now that's when they on that because y 'all old, they bred them still, like, you still shorty for, like, they don't be having no bitches in eighth grade and shit like that, but like, freshmen and shit, like high school, they got them. They probably just now doing that. Just now got them that's crazy when you go to start metal detecting 8th graders and shit they're just fully off the porch by the time they're like 13 that's crazy okay but were you were you looking at had you thought about rapping before Nook or was Nook the one that kind of inspired you and made you realize you could do it Nook really I don't want no rap well either way I guess.
16:06Oh, yeah. Bro, Nook, a real rapper. He had a passion for this shit. He grew up making dropping songs on Facebook. You could still see his trailers on Facebook. Folks used to tell me I got to do this shit. This shit going through it. Bro, I'm not believing. I'm not no rapper. You know folks got a passion for this shit. Folks making songs, dropping that shit on Facebook. He started dropping that shit on YouTube and shit. You see they fucking with him on Facebook. he started dropping on YouTube. He dropped his first little song on YouTube. That bitch went up. I got like 500 ,000. So what about you?
16:42Were you thinking about it before him or did he fully like open the door to your mind that you could be a rapper? No, he ain't go about it. He wasn't telling me nothing like that. Because when he was getting up and shit, I was a shorty fool. I was a shorty fool. I ain't go about it. I was just like, no, he was raw as hell before I was listening to him every day on Sosa. Every day. and me knowing, like he up the street type of shit, I go, his ass, they be outside, so like, that's how I really got with them, like, you know, start being from that, who that shit like that for, I'm where I start, going up to the park, they used to be at the park for deep seal, shooting videos, that's, I used to be going up that for, then they started calling me that shorty for, you know, I was like, y 'all can see old for, they start, you know, nugga start giving me bread and shit, you know, motherfuckers, huh, get this, you know, give me bread and shit on funnel they start looking at me as one of their shorties I'm coming around they start bringing you to the studio and like trying to show you how to rap no no no no you know what I'm saying we want him he still got his own shit going on he got his little brother his cousin he be around he got his little crowd it's just I told you we see some in shorty We like, hey, bro, Lil Bro Rock.
18:00Something, folks. Something about him. We fuck with him. That's how. We just fuck with him. That's how. So when you start recording your first songs? I ain't gonna lie, fool. What's his name? Dirty Vine, right? Shit, yeah, tell me. The rapper Dirty Vine, the studio he be going to? Oh, I think so. Yeah, I did with folks, I ain't really know, I ain't know him at all. I just went my cud to the studio, he went to that studio I went to with him.
18:42He was like, do a song, folks. I ain't gonna lie, I just did that, me and 50, folks, my homie 50. I don't know 50, I'm sorry. Read the full transcript
27:52Is he the exact same age? He's older. That's really like Big Butterful. He doesn't really like my Big Butterful. So when you met Q50 with Lil' 50, you already had that name? Oh, he had a different name. Nah, since she was little 50. Yeah, she was little 50. Yeah, because everybody, you know, you got Q50 and then you got little 50. So everybody used to think that they were like some type of relation or something, but they not related at all. Mm-mm. And then you said at one point you was going by school, right? Yeah. So everybody, you know, it was like y 'all was like associated with bloodhounds and shit.
28:27But ain't no association there, right? No. When did you actually end up meeting them? Meeting who? The bloodhounds. what you mean like me like I don't think I what you mean like me like yeah I mean just cause like people think that you guys were like super inspired by them but like at what point did you actually become aware of them and start listening to music or even meet them in person uh I don't know wait what the fuck about I don't know how the fuck but at one point y 'all were inspired or was fucking with a movie they got some raw ass music for them Sosa. Facts. Who was you fucking with from over there?
29:06I used to listen to Lil' Javion and Q50 all of you. Yeah. Angola, they got some raw ass music, Foul. I'm Sosa. That's the confusion. Angola, I think Q50, I think the 50, he really pit me on the Jeff, Foul. I think he played like a song of his or something, Foul, that first song he dropped, Foul. That first song, that's the song we used to always listen to, Foul. The one that went up, Foul. That bitch got like, I don't know That bitch went up though That used to be our favorite song It's like that though That shit ain't nothing to do So where was you at When you heard the news That Q50 died Or he had passed away I don't wanna talk about that I don't know I don't wanna I don't wanna How did that affect you Or you know what I'm saying Cause that's the thing You hanging out with him everyday And then you know Being from Chicago Y 'all lose a lot of people All the time Cause like Was this one Hit harder for you Compared to everybody else You might have lost Or like What was your initial thoughts No, oh shit
30:10Yeah, I don't know how to answer that for a ringer. I don't know that's that That did break me though. I'm so sorry that broke me for those my everyday home before I got a wake I was waking up to him types, you know that was my everyday home before angle, but that shit did break me though Yeah, it's tough losing anybody you care about but especially like the person you're with every day. No boys This shit even real type shit? Shit like that, fool. That shit made you go back in the studio? It inspired you? Man, I'm finna go harder. You know what I'm saying? Because he really wanted to rap, fool.
30:40I really was like, no, he wanted to rap. I was rap because him type shit. I really went for the rap. He was telling me to rap type shit. I really went for the rap. When he died, I focused on music more. Just like that. Was that the first person you lost? Was that close to you? No, I lost my big cuz. that was that, like, real close to me. So that's my big cousin. I don't know. How do you feel when people be saying, all right, because y 'all did the interview on DJU, and then I think he died, like, 24 hours after the fact. How y 'all be feeling when people be like, the couch is cursed, cursed and all that shit?
31:14How do you feel about, like, people saying shit like that? Man, I just talk, that bitch ain't cursed. I don't know, so that shit, I don't know, fool. They just be talking, I ain't gonna lie. If I listen to that shit, talking about the couch curse, I don't know if that bitch curse. I ain't gonna lie I would've checked shit If that bitch was cursed Yeah Who am I over here I would've checked shit Man so many other motherfuckers So many other motherfuckers That was on that Didn't check Why the fuck is that cursed I'm so I was like come on That shit ain't real I know but you seen People saying that Yeah I seen that shit I'm here I seen that shit Yeah yeah But this Just to shoot him some bail Like DJU gives opportunities To a shitload of younger artists From Chicago Who might not be big enough To get on other platforms Yeah So from my perspective he's giving a voice to a lot of people who are living extremely dangerous lifestyles but probably like you know he's helping them like get ahead in their career and everything it's the same reason why people are like oh if you sign to Empire you're gonna die because like there's like 10 rappers who have been signed to Empire or passed but it's like you should be thanking Empire that they're putting people in position you know like that they gave opportunities to all these younger artists no bullshit hey guys just be talking for sure one thing I do when I ask y 'all and I bounce out video, you had a big fat ass chain on.
32:28What the fuck, what the chain say? It was like Y-T. What the fuck, where you get that chain from? It was like another crew of yours. What the fuck, Y-T? I forgot how we end up with that bitch. I think it looked K-So slim. I don't know, I think he took that bitch or something. Oh, that was somebody else's chain. Yeah, that was somebody else's shit. I just got that bitch for him's shit. He came with a ICY chain up there, brother. Oh, fuck no. How old was Luke? How old was Lil Keeso? He was like 15. Yeah. He was like 15. So Keeso was out here backdooring people and doing all that. You said he slimy?
33:05I don't know. What the fuck shorty was doing? Shit. Yeah. But I seen a video. And actually, in one of your music videos, I guess somebody took a pipe from Keeso or some shit and that shit, you put it in the Super Slime video. What the fuck going on? What y 'all got going on, bro? Like, niggas be scared to get around y 'all niggas. Niggas pipes getting took, niggas chains getting took, took. Phones getting took. Ay, fuck you tomorrow. Nigga, phones getting took. Like, damn. If one of these cameras comes up missing, we're gonna be looking at you. Y 'all might be with a fucking camera. Ay, fuck you yourself tomorrow.
33:39Y 'all fuck you yourself. I don't hang around. We don't be on nothing. We don't be on nothing. We really cool to see her be around. Like, we fuck with you. We cool to see her be around. Motherfucka that been around us. No, I'm so sorry. You got that fishy vibe. Yeah, how often is it that niggas pipes and shit get into it? Like, how often is that? Like, because think about it, that's kind of hard to be able to take somebody gun, you know what I'm saying? Like, that's coming? Yeah, that shit coming out there in Chicago. Yeah, that shit is. That shit is. It's just like, you know how it is. Don't go around nobody you feel like you're gonna, who will take your gun.
34:16And for them to take you sweet on social phone for them to take you for, like, I be, you know? I can't stop shit, like, you know, like, I can't stop you Yeah LA Safens are coming You know Safens You know There's not no interview Or none of that We was just linking up With y 'all Safens fully know you Yeah You know But he bringing me Yeah Oh bro Whatever Y 'all Safens I'm just trying to be Oh yeah That's Adam Who out the BIM Yeah you Yeah Yeah he see you I'm fanned out Yeah give him my gun He take my shit Just cause I'm just Trying to be around Shit just be happening folks Don't be around I'm like Let me get my gun back He like hell nah Like, what's the situation?
34:54Like, y 'all taking it when a nigga ain't looking? Or a nigga getting it? Not even just y 'all in general. I'm just talking about, like, Chicago culture. Niggas' guns getting took off on, like, normally? Or, like, y 'all doing it when a nigga got in the whip and a nigga just snatched that bitch in? Like, how'd that shit go? I don't know how. I don't know how. So a nigga shit could get took off on while they know him. Yeah. Or some shit. They'll do it. They brave. Yeah. I don't know. Ain't that, yeah. So how'd that play out? Ain't that some brave shit to do? Like, shit could go left. he ain't go left he ain't go left he ain't go right he ain't go right you never know you never know what happens you gotta take it you gotta take a risk you gotta take that risk I mean young Scooter used to always talk about robbing you without a mask but I feel like he was talking about just kinda slipping off whereas I feel like the Chicago version of it is like spend time around you get cool with you then when you're in a moment of weakness take the pipe point it at him take all the drugs take whatever and maybe even make some internet content, piss her with you, tie you up, fuck you over like that.
35:57That's a whole new wave. Nah, I don't know. That's what they doing out there. Not you guys, but just in general. Yeah, that's what they doing. They're doing anything. For sure. Alright, but outside of yourself, is there any situations you've seen over the years that kind of blew your mind just in terms of somebody getting robbed or getting their shit took or somebody backdooring somebody that really let you know how cold the streets are out there? Hell no. I just know off other people's situations. That's what I'm saying. Like, other people's situations is not necessarily involving you guys. I don't want you to incriminate yourselves or anything.
36:29Yeah, yeah, motherfucking no. Like, I ain't gonna say they situations on here. Okay. Yeah. You don't gotta say that name or anything either, but. But it get like that. And see what you're saying. Niggas is taking pipes, like, even, all right, let's talk about it. Fucking, uh, you used to hang around some dude named Lil Speedy or whatever. And in the video, you show why the nigga Speedy mad at you or whatever. What was y 'all relationship like? Because y 'all used to be hanging around and be in music videos and shit together and shit too at one point, right? Yeah, yeah. That was bleed shit. That was bleed.
37:03He from the same block as you? Nah, he from blood out shit. Was he your cousin? Yep. Nah, Speedy and Q50 was cousins though, right? Nah, that's what Jada was saying. I don't know. What the fuck are you talking about? But she was saying they was cousins though, right? Yes, she was saying they was cousins, but I don't really know the story. So I ain't in a situation with Speedy, like he ain't from y 'all block. Y 'all linked up. Where y 'all link up at? Where y 'all became friends of? Oh, we been friends. Quan used to go to school with him and shit. Oh, right. No, we been cool and shit from school and shit.
37:34You know, motherfuckers be meeting each other from school and shit like that. Shit like that. I met his dad from school. Shit like that. And y 'all just fell out, ended up going separate ways type shit? You were real cool for a while, right? That's good shit. I ain't got no bad blood before. Yeah, it's cool. I ain't got no bad blood, bro. We all gonna draw some music together and shit. Shit, I don't know shit, you guys. I don't know. Because that is kind of crazy that you guys are both blowing up musically at the same time. But we've seen some posts on some blogs and shit saying that you did take a pipe from him at some point.
38:09No, hell no. No. Okay. That y 'all just be talking, I ain't doing that shit like that. Hell no. That must be stressful, people just making up narratives like that about you. For no. How you be feeling Like when you be seeing All these documentaries And shit Niggas I ain't gonna lie I don't be I don't be Looking at no doctor I go past that shit I ain't gonna lie I don't look at no None of that I ain't gonna lie Yeah You be seeing shit With your name Like man Here they go again Yeah I ain't gonna lie I be seeing all types of shit I don't be looking at that shit For them They irritating folk So much They be Clickbaiting folk Like They ask me Hell no For them Nah like you guys Put out a lot of stuff for them to work with, but then they end up just kind of tying the pieces together and coming up with whatever they want, right?
38:53Yeah. False shit. They be coming with false shit. Shit, that goofy shit. They be saying anything. Why be what the fuck? These people just be thinking they do something. They think they got all the opponents. No. Don't know what y 'all are talking about. Do you think in like 20 years you'll end up just doing interviews where you tell the stories the right way? Because that's what people like J-Main are doing now. They're like coming out and telling stories, all this crazy ass shit from Chicago from their childhood?
39:22Tell stories. Hell no. Hell no. No war stories in the future? No, okay. We'll just have to keep guessing. How many times have you been arrested? You been in jail or some shit? Like, you ever had to sit down? Hell yeah. But now I know. Long, like, weeks and shit. Like, split shit. For what? Like, what you had? For good for shit. High speeds or some shit? No, like, wars. Like, good for shit. Police be on you? Like, when you on your block? Like, they know, like they got a face card like man that nigga fully chop you over there cause like some niggas can't even go to their block before they be like that I can virtually be like that but nah I ain't police never gave me hell no yeah cause you know how they be like oh man the rappers out here man they just thinking some bullshit and they ain't like that for you hell no how many what you got uh I mean like do you still stay in that area or at this point is your name too big that you don't really want to be just on the block everyday well in terms of like living where you grew up?
40:18Oh, no. Yeah, I'm too known for being over the hill now. We a goat, say hey, and shit like that, but we ain't doing no kicking, no posting up on no blocks. We got, we too famous for all that. We got too much money for all that posting up on blocks and shit. That shit be, fuck, you wanna post up and go to jail? What the fuck? We ain't doing none of that, you know? When was the first moment that you felt like you actually had made enough money that it changed your life? Like, you know, the first big streaming check or some shit like that? Oh, you said what? Like, the first time you got, like a serious check in the mail or whatever that made you just feel like, damn, like I made it to a certain extent.
40:53Like I can get out of here. I can live my life differently than just being around here. Let me see. I don't want to answer that. Yeah. I don't want to answer that. Okay. Cause you've been popping. You've been really popping for how long would you say? Like a year? Yeah. Hell yeah. Not, not even a year. Yeah. About a year. Yeah. About a year. How often you been like traveling and shit? Like, when I met you, that was your first time coming to Cali, or you been popping out here? That was my first time, right? Yeah, that was my first time for sure. I don't like traveling, fool. That shit be irritating, fool.
41:29Last time I was out here, fool, that shit, I didn't like it, fool. I ain't go back. Just a playing experience? I don't know what the hype is. I don't like it out here, for real. But, like, this time I like it. I like it not, fool. I'm starting to like this bitch, fool. Last time, it was boring as hell, fool. Yeah, because you was in the studio and shit. How you know Fonzo? 47:40I'll be like Oh that's PGF Nook without a mask And they'll be like What? Even if they know who it is and shit They'll be like Why would you That's what I'm saying man I'm a different kind of guy man
47:56So how serious are you About your music career and shit right now? I see you out here in LA You finna record some music and shit? How often you in the studio nowadays? Angle out in the studio every day to like like six, seven hours. Every day in studio, I ain't gonna go back. I be in that bitch every day. What's the vibe in there? Is it like hard work or you got girls coming through? Is it like a party vibe? Hell no, hell no. I don't live through the girls and shouts. Be in that bitch by myself. Before, no. Getting fried. Making songs. Getting fried, making songs. That's all. How many songs do you mind making in one studio session?
48:30Like three. Ain't gonna go back like three. I knew Lou since I was little as hell before. I used to be shooting Nook videos. I used to be around that.
50:05My name's shooting. Videos. Shooting Nook videos. I used to be young as hell. Lou shoot. I'm into videos too. All that type of shit. In the phone number. Yeah. What is it? Do you believe Jada when she said that Mimo was trying to date her?
50:45A lot of people were kind of shocked by that. We asked him about it. He wasn't really going for it. Trying to date her? I don't know. I don't be in her business for I don't know what the fuck you got going on. I ain't gonna buy it. We don't know what she got going on. With who? With who? With who? With who? She's like a big hot topic all of a sudden. Everybody want to know about her. I don't know. But I don't know what she got going on. I ain't going to go about her. Yeah, I don't keep in touch. I been seeing. I be on the phone and shit. I be on the phone and shit. Like, she coming. I be around her and shit like that.
51:13But I don't know what she doing type shit. Yeah, yeah. I don't know who she talking to. Like, I don't really know. I ain't all in her face. Who is this? Who you talking to? Like, I ain't. I ain't. all the her business type shit. I feel like you gotta be a special type of chick to be able to kick it around dudes like you and actually get respect. She's in the videos and shit like that. She's rapping now. What are you talking about? Being around me? Yeah, just like you guys having enough respect for her. Clearly, she's not just like a regular chick to y 'all. I'm fine. That's my big sister. That's like my big sister.
51:46Yeah, that's liberal big sister. Yeah, that's pretty big sister. So that's like my big sister. She ever say anything in an interview though That you're like damn she's saying too much Hell no Cause I feel like she'll say Spicier shit than y 'all will say She's the wild card I think But I don't know what the fuck Y 'all never check her for some shit Hell yeah She was on live talking about she got 30 on Speedy Niggas like what the fuck you saying I don't know what the fuck she was talking about She just be she just be talking for a while what the fuck is she talking about though cause 30 ain't speeding normally you gotta be going at least like 50, 60, 70 miles per hour to be speeding in the comments they gonna know exactly what I'm talking about in the comments they definitely gonna know they funny as you they you see you sorry that's probably the worst dad joke I ever did on here they funny as you How you feel But like You know A lot of people The Chicago shit get serious though Like all jokes aside And all that shit like What do you think could be done To like slow some of the violence And all that shit down Like you know J-Man got the push and peace movement And shit going on How do you feel about like You think you And everybody in Chicago Could slowly come together And like stop some of this shit Cause like niggas gotta be tired Of this shit right I ain't go a lot for You don't look For You don't know how Other motherfuckers feel They ain't lost homies for They ain't lost people To this shit Like you don't know Or you don't know How they feel They didn't lost Homies, brothers All type of shit Cousins All type of shit So you don't really know How motherfuckers feel And shit like that So you can't speak I can't speak for everybody Type shit you know Yeah but speaking for yourself How you feel I ain't gonna lie I ain't with the Piss and P shit But I ain't with the Piss and P shit But I fuck with J-Man For doing that type shit Cause they was in real war I ain't gonna lie On soul There's no way he supposed to be pushing peace.
53:50Angolow, bro, there's no way you supposed to be pushing peace, brother. So you've gone on YouTube and watched his older stuff and realized, like for me, I interviewed him before I realized like, oh shit, you were mega disrespectful. Yes, on Sos, he was disrespectful. There's no way he was pushing peace with us. There's no way you pushing peace with us. Angolow, Sos, there's no way, fo. He just said, fuck everybody, literally, a hundred people's fo. He just said, fuck a hundred people's. and I fuck with him for a piece of piece dude yeah like him going to O-Block once you've really like done the deep dive is like whoa that is pretty crazy that you are actually at a different point like honestly he did get like kind of yelled at and chased out of there or whatever but when you consider all the shit that he rapped about in terms of like different O-Block members the fact that they didn't just whatever him is kind of impressive you know there's no way that's good that's good so that's good for him but there's no way I kept regretting that video but really there's no damn way that I was coming to all shit like this he walking that bitch freely I'm nah hell nah so y 'all ain't got no older homies that's like trying to piece it up and shit I know you younger and shit but like none of the older guys like man come on we gotta slow some of this shit down how you feel like niggas get tired of looking over their shoulder and all that type of shit, right?
55:14Yeah. I ain't gonna say like that, but like, you know? Man, motherfuckers. Motherfuckers get some money for it. Bro, we gotta get some money. Motherfuckers don't be on that all. We don't be on that all the time. We gotta get money, fool. We gotta, you know? We be chillin'. We be chillin'. We be trying to just get money, fool. Stay out the way and shit like that. We don't be chasing that shit. We don't chase that shit for real. For sure. Big phone, they just be trying to get to the money type shit, fool. because they get into the money, you know? Have you ever had a moment where, like, a real young fan comes up to you showing love?
55:47They're so hyped on you. They look up to you, but then they also say some shit about, you know, violence or street shit or whatever, and you have that moment where you kind of realize, like, fuck, maybe I am having a little bit of a negative impact by influencing these kids. No. Every time a motherfucker walks up to me, they say some good shit. Yeah, they say some good shit, like, can I get a picture or something? I saw like two La Girls in like Walmart they went to the picture like motherfuckers just be looking at me in one of the pictures type of shit like that they don't be keep they negative shit but my little cousin they be yeah they be trolling my little cousin they be trolling on social head they see me they want to say the opposite I be wrong and you don't be wanting to do it though right you be trying to protect them so how you feel about like you know you fully chopped people looking up to you and shit now how you feel about a kid that might be like I don't want to be like fully chopped and shit like what would you say to him somebody that might want to jump up the porch because they see how you move don't follow my footsteps don't follow my footsteps stay in school that's what I want to say don't follow my footsteps the reason why I asked that question was because I had a moment where like a kid came up to me outside a show and he was like 16 clearly off mad Zanz and I was just like fuck like we gotta stop talking about this shit on the podcast like I just really felt it in that moment.
57:09This was like eight years ago or some shit, you know. But, you know, like we do have a lot of influence on these people out there, you know. I don't know. Watch what you say. Watch what you say around kids. Do you stay away from drugs? Do you mean drugs? I mean, have you just smoked a little weed? Yeah. That's good. I don't do all that shit. I don't do that. I'm just stick to weed. I don't do nothing out of shit. Yeah, that's a safer alternative for sure. Is it, you still allowed to have like fun in Chicago? What you do for fun when you're in a wreck? See, I just be chilling for, chilling with my cousin and for, I just be playing a game and shit.
57:51I just be, feet kicked up shit, you know? Also, feet kicked up type shit, like, put up, like, somewhere far type shit, you know? Do you ever plan on like leaving Chicago like long time? Hell yeah, but not, no, but I don't, I don't know how to say, I'm always coming to Chicago. Yeah, yeah. That's where I grew up at. Like, you know, I don't really. But you see how cheeky did it when he got on, got some money? First thing he did was move to California. He got up out. Got him on down. So, like, you know, you don't plan on, like, all right, let me leave States and shit. It might be best for me and my clique to move out here to change our surroundings and shit.
58:26I don't know. Like, did he move when he got on? Like, he stayed in Chicago or he ain't never moved? Yeah, he moved. Yeah, yeah, so. For sure. He moved to Jersey.
58:39I feel like it's hard for some people to make that move and actually separate themselves from their world that they're so used to. Chief Keefe is the one rare dude who's kind of in his own world just making music and kicking it with his boys. He don't need to be in Chicago. He prefers to be just ducked off. He's not the most social person. For sure. So, okay You keep referencing Your cousin Sosa Who passed away Can you tell us about Your relationship with him? We was Ain't gonna lie We was close Close I wanted to be like him For ain't gonna lie Really? Ain't gonna lie I wanted to be like him What type of person was he?
59:22Was he rapping or? Yeah, on Sosa He was rapping That's really why I was rapping too Cause him He was rapping So he got songs He was rapping He was rapping For me started rapping. How do your mom and everybody feel about your rap success and you blowing up? They proud of me. I ain't gonna lie. They proud. For sure they proud. I ain't gonna lie. They ever tell you that they're concerned about your lyrics or anything? Nah, they just be laughing at the certain shit I be saying. They be laughing. Like that. Like them. They hit the certain shit though. Like they kind of know. Like being from Chicago, a lot of moms be knowing what's going on to a certain extent.
1:00:01Yeah. Because for safety reasons, you, like, kind of tell, you got to tell them, right? Mm-hmm. So she kind of woke to what's going on. Yeah. I feel that. You must have grew up with your grandma more than your mom. Because you kept saying your granny house. No, they both, like, all us, like, it was all, like, in front of my grandma, my pops, my budgie. We was in one household. No, that shit is. No bullshit. All right. man we gotta make sure you finish uh schoolie home school man you gonna make so what grade you in right now how much you got left i don't want to say i don't want to say my grade yeah yeah yeah but you're gonna finish that mud all right yeah yeah yeah i'll finish that for sure for sure what what uh is your message to the kids out there that hear your music and they you know find it all very attractive hearing you rap about the street shit like what would you tell them if they ask you for your advice?
1:00:59Shit. I ain't gonna lie. I don't know. What'd you say? You said for what? For advice? Yeah. Yeah, like the younger generation who listens to the music and they fuck with it and they are attracted to the street life and everything. What would be your words of advice to them? Stay in school, man. That's all. That's really all. Stay in school. Graduate on something. Graduate. What's in your book, man? No bullshit. What about the kids that might be in Chicago and they say they can't go to school? Because situation like... Like my situation. Yeah, like your situation. What would you say to them? Yeah.
1:01:33It's still a way. It's a way. It's a way. He learning shit. Do what you want. Like, you got to... You got to want this shit, gang. You got to want... I don't know about it. Wherever, like, you... Wherever you at, like, if you in a bad predicament, you in Chicago, you can't... You got to want this shit if you want to, you know? Yeah. Don't be looking behind us I'm about to go to school Finish school first Just finish school first That's all Do all that other shit Glass or something I don't know just finish school first Definitely So you end up signing to a label I know you probably had a lot of them on your line Yeah That kind of change your life Just getting a big sum of money from signing and everything like that?
1:02:25Yeah. I ain't changed my life, but, like, shit, there was something though, you know? Does that feel dope, though, to have them in your corner? Or does it feel like they got a plan for how they're gonna blow your shit up even more? Yeah, yeah. No, that's dope. Who's the top three hottest rappers coming out of Chicago right now as far as the up-and-coming crowd? That's already up. That's already up there? Well, no, like, people like you who are, like, you know, you've came up, but you're also, like, growing right now. We don't need to include, you know, the little Dirks and the Polo G's and shit like that.
1:02:56Let me see. Let me see. Phone on. You got three and I got three. Phone on. Name drop them because they might go check them out after the interview. What you got? Let me see.
