In short

Lil Flip (MBAM Flip) discusses Chicago drill’s early days, his 2012 “Porsche incident” viral clip, and his views on rivalries (Ewol, Rico Recklezz, Rooga), plus his shift toward music after jail.

Guests

The episode is hosted by No Jumper’s Remo. Lil Flip is the main guest.

Guest background

Lil Flip is from Chicago’s Hunters area (100s/118th–120th Perry/Lafayette). He says he grew up around older guys getting money, started/claimed the “NBA M / Death Row” identity with his brothers, and began rapping around 2009–2011. He reports about 3–3.5 years incarcerated total, including violations that led to re-incarceration, and a later 2019 stomach shooting.

Key claims

He says the viral “porch” incident happened after he linked with AOKD for a studio session; he claims they never actually went into a studio and he was lured to a porch where multiple men pulled up. He denies “bullying” and frames street violence as real, not internet. He says he and Ewol had no real conversation and that Rico Recklezz and him are connected through family ties (Rico’s baby mama is his sister). He argues Chicago got worse due to easier access to high-powered guns.

Notable examples

Influences named include Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, 3-6 Mafia, and Young Jeezy; he mentions Bump (Bun B) and Louis (Louis) as local momentum. He references Zach TV’s interview and the “y’all shouldn’t let me off that porch” moment, plus J-Rod’s viral role in the video.

0:00No Jumper, coolest podcast in the world. I'm in here today with my man Remo and we having a sit down. Very important Chicago lore about to get discussed as an important update. My man Lil Flip, currently known as MBAM Flip? MBAM. MBAM. All right, we got to speak it up. MBAM, man. Long overdue too, because we were supposed to do this one when? A year and a half ago, a year ago. And then what happened? You got booked. Yeah, I was incarcerated, locked up. What did you get locked up for? pipe case pipe case some more other miscellaneous shit for sure had to go in and out yeah cause you was in and out alright cause you got out I came home man and then went right back in yeah they violated me what they violated you for another case bullshit ass case I just knocked that shit out came home so how long how long you spent in jail just all together How long I do?

1:00I was together Like three Three and a half You don't know Yeah Three and a half I'm actually He was like Three and a half Yeah I did like Three and a half You did a little time You've been a four Yeah I came home And I got Locked right back up So for the most part You've just been You've been in Chicago Just staying out the way then For the most part Cause four years because you really went viral. What year would you say you went viral? That was what? 2010, 12? Yeah. 12. 2012? 12. You got to say 12. But I've been out the way, though. Yeah, before we even get into that, let's just give a breakdown on, like, for the people who don't know you, where you from?

1:52I'm from the Hunters. I'm from the Wild Hunters, man. I'm from downhill, 118th of Pereira. I'm from Death Row, 120, Perry, Lafayette. That's where I'm from. Nothing else. I'm nowhere else. I'm from outside the city. The Hunters is the city. Where I'm from, we the wild. We are the city. We are in the city. Break that down because we got a lot of people come up here who from the low end. And the low end is like the 40s, the 30s, right? Yeah, yeah. So you on the 100s. So that's the opposite side down there. Yeah, but that's just deep south. You got what I'm saying? That's deep south. That's not like the birds call themselves the Hunters too.

2:26because the numbers but it's different that's not like that's not really like the city the hunts is still in the city oh so what's going on or so it's it's why that's why they call it wild hunting or so what's the name of y 'all block or street or we just nbam we nbam death row death throw nbam simple with that but it's always been that yeah forever for the last past my time all right so that wasn't nothing you started that was even before you was there me and my brothers started that nbam shit that nbam shit i shit all right yeah but my brother mazzy man but it like translated to like everybody from there kind of saying it it just became like much much more popular through you guys claiming it yeah because motherfuckers had to fall in place and get out lay down this is what type of time we on we ain't know what y 'all on y 'all ain't know what we on y 'all gotta move around just we nbam my brothers and me money bitches and murder we separate ourselves from everybody else type shit just got on our own brotherhood type shit lordy for sure and at the time when you when you created this crew was this like everyone had their crew so you like we finna oh y 'all was this was a rap crew like what made y 'all even know rap shit it was just uh Everybody ain't had no crews We was just like And I hood How the way I hood is It's just like Everybody went on The same type of time That we was on You got what I'm saying Yeah So we just like Separate ourselves from everybody Love a couple other niggas From a distance But we just I look for This is what we on They ain't on We on You know what I'm saying You know some strictly NBA and death row shit It's not like a brotherhood Yeah we're brotherhood man Not no gang for real Yeah this ain't no gang Everybody we all brothers We all look at Everybody the same you feel me?

4:09He is. Yeah, it ain't no gang shit, man. Definitely. So when you started actually, well, okay, before we even get into the rap, and when you feel like you kind of fully hopped off the porch? Like it's a shorty. I was a shorty, I ain't going to lie, like 12. Anybody that know me, they're about, but yeah, I was a shorty, 12. And you were just with all your young homies, or you have like big homies that you were kind of the young dude hanging out with? Yeah, older. Like in our hood we had older niggas, our older niggas was getting money. So it was like the older guys were getting money but we always had our circle, you know what I'm saying?

4:45That I said that we separated out so we had ourselves. All of us would jump off the porch. 11, 12, 13, you know what I'm saying? We was doing shit. So. What was the reason you had to jump off the porch? Circumstances? Like what was the household like? The environment. My household was strong. My momma hired everybody. She said I don't want momma. My momma hired everybody. So a household is strong, but it's just the environment. You know what I'm saying? I'm around a whole bunch of killers. You can't be no poodle. You know, you're going to get eight out there. So I just adapted to my environment like shit.

5:18A poodle is a good type of dog, bro. Yeah, I see you like them. I got two of them. This nigga is bad. But yeah, though, baby, you just adapted to our environment, man. You got to adapt. What was the first major thing you were like, yeah, I got to move different out here? that made you wise enough? When I was shorty? Yeah, that made you like, all right. Shit, it was real. Shit, I'm like, shorty. Niggas getting clapped. Niggas getting f***ed up out there. I wasn't going to get f***ed up. So I'm like, all right. You either fuck people up or get f***ed up. You know, because a lot of people come on here and they say their parents knew of the circumstances or they might not have known.

5:55Was your mom aware of what was going on? Did she try to move you out the area? I was always been like a little intelligent motherfucker like stay stayed in school and like my OG ain't play that shit but I was still in the streets because that's what I liked it that's what like you can't stop me from going outside this this was outside yeah so she knew it just she was like just stay on your shit and if this is what you want to do stay on that shit too you know what I mean so well she's trying to tell you to stay out the streets no she's saying she always told me stay out the streets it's just if you won't be in the streets you know I'm saying stay on point you know don't play don't slip it's what you want to do huh you grown now just don't fuck up don't let them don't let these niggas kill you or don't go to jail for the rest of your life but she seems like she kind of like understood that you're probably gonna be living a wild life no matter what i'm a problem child yeah yeah she knew that how many siblings and stuff you got four brothers four sisters oh so y 'all's deep all in the same Yeah.

7:02So what do you think that that instilled in you from just having to share a home with so many other kids? Shit, shit. I got to make something work because I can't go out like this no more. There's too many of us. We got to change the narrative. You know what I'm saying? We got to get a big house. Do you think it made you competitive because you got so many brothers? You don't want to be the little guy. You want to kind of rise to the top, right? Nah, growing up at one, just all of us in that motherfucking crib. Okay. Those motherfucking born, you know what I'm saying? Like three of us, then four of us, you know what I'm saying?

7:34So that's the type of shit we live. And y 'all hood, that's like a GD hood? Or what's the area? There's more GDs, BDs? You know, every section in Chicago is like either a four. Nah, man, we gangsters. All right, so that's like a GD area. But we don't get on about that shit. We an all-star team. Long little super. Long little lord. My brother, he was a white lord. So we don't get on about that shit. Long little solid folk core. He was a solid folk. We don't care about that gangbang shit We just NBA M Yeah it don't matter Loyalty don't gangbang Are you tapped in with the other GD's That rap in Chicago I'm tapped in with who The 3rd year old niggas I'm tapped in If you fuck with me You fuck with me Alright so let's break it down When did you start rapping initially Cause early on you was probably one of the first people to be rapping out in Chicago?

8:27Like, when the Cheeky movement started, when did you start rapping? Like, how long after that? I was really rapping for a minute. I was rapping for a minute, and then I just really took that shit to see us. When I came home, I was in the Audi home or some shit. I came home, family moved to 75th. Family moved to another side of the city. So I'm like, f***. Started rapping, and the people who I was around on 75th, they was on some rapping shit, and they was on the same type of time I was on. And what year this is? Like 20? This was like 2010, 2009. This was 2009, matter of fact. And Cheeky got songs busting already or?

9:04No. It's 2011. That whole era, all of us. So nobody even made it yet at this time. Everybody just working. Everybody just little dirty. Studio time, you know? Everybody want nobody million years of saying. All right, so who was influencing you to rap at this time? Because a lot of people got influenced After they seen Cheeky made it, and they like, oh shit, I can do this too. You was doing it before you made it. So like who influenced you to even like, you know what, I'm going to do this shit. I just was seeing like, I was listening to my bracket of rappers who I was listening to like, you know, mainstream.

9:35I was listening to them, but it was just like, I just, I don't know. It's time. Like I just want to do it. I don't know. I just love music. Who you was listening to at the time? Gucci, Wayne. What? my boy Gucci gonna let me down universal feeling amongst the streets right now bro you never seen anybody's stock drop that quickly but what I'm gonna say Gucci, Gotti Wayne of course um shit 50 yeah alright for sure um Um, 3-6 Mafia. So those are the influences. I was listening to them. So who, all right, where you going to the studio at? Like, because at the time now, people recording on their phones.

10:30Back then, y 'all ain't had it. Nah. So what was the studio process like for you? And getting money for studio time and all that? Break that down. See, I was like low-key spoiled in my hood. Like, all the other guys, like, really spoiled me and shit. They ain't spoiled me, but all them loved me. so like I was and they was backing me up yeah so they was shit go to the studio go to the studio so they push you to rap yeah they fuck that street shit go in the studio go in the studio you can rap you got a talent they rap so I was hitting the stew and in the streets but I made sure I stayed in that stew cause you know but I had to stay in the streets cause I had something to rap but I had to rap about something I ain't wanna lie so locally at this time who having like motion and shit after you Louie was Louie was busing so Louie going crazy Louis was doing his thing man Shout out Foo or whatever You were a Bump J fan before that?

11:21Yeah I ain't gonna lie I was fucking with Bump before he got booked I fucked with Bump Bump Bump thorough That was a big wave In terms of like Before Chief Keep That's like one of the main rappers Where I was like Oh this is a Chicago street dude Yeah Foo be on some gangsta type of time But yeah Bump Louis and shit Nobody really like everybody was just developing they self at that time in the era. We was the people that was rapping. You know what I'm saying? Us, you know what I'm saying? Drill rap. Alright, so this brings me to where I guess your viral moment kind of started happening. So you rapping at the time.

12:01So I guess A-OKD was having a little bit of motion during this time because I've seen him on the internet. Where was his motion really coming from during that time? Because it wasn't he didn't have like a big song out or yeah, you breaking out. I'm gonna keep it 100. I don't know what Shorty. I ain't know. Shorty had some motion back then. I ain't gonna take a nigga. He had motion whatever the f*** he was doing. You know what I'm saying? But he just was a rapper. Like, that's it. It wasn't no... Yeah. I'd say, like, Facebook. Yeah. I'd say, like, Facebook and his little going viral moments for doing goofy shit.

12:33Yeah. That's what got him his buzz. Yeah. And this one, he hanging out with Dex and stuff, too, at the time. Dex have emotion and shit, too, right? Of course. Folks have emotion. him with yeah so all right what was your relationship with aokd you knew him as a friend or this was like all right this nigga rap i'ma link with him see we really i really just tapped in with him because i seen he had motion and that's what you supposed to do you know what i'm saying tap in with the motherfucker got motion but i i tapped in with him like all right let's do some music boom that type of shit but it was only music it wasn't no like you my best friend you my homie let's go slap in the hop so let's go smoke weed and do this type of shit nah it wasn't none that it was just strictly music.

13:10So how many times you and AOKD hung out? Two times. Before that? Two times. Only twice ever? That's it. I bumped into him and hug. But he not a person at all. I'd be like, oh, what's up, bro? Like that type of shit. So all right, let's break down the day that you went viral over the little Porsche incident. So you reached out to AOKD. I guess y 'all was going to go to the studio to do a feature? Yeah, and y 'all been playing with me because y 'all been saying my name when I been booked, playing with that shit. That was Remo. Huh? That was Remo. Real or not. He snitching on me quick. I'm just kidding.

13:43You snitching more than Poochie Man. Not what you say though. Nah. What was said though? Freshman, because you probably. Nah, just the flip. Like this topic, this motherfucker must have been big. Oh, well, we interviewed AOKD like maybe two years ago and he probably gave a less flattering description of these events. Yeah. And Ewall probably too. Ewall. Okay, yeah, yeah. That makes sense. But we getting to that. we finna get there so like alright break down the day of like alright so you reached out to AOKD like hey let's go to the studio yeah I reached out to him on some alright look we finna hit the lab type shit he had some other shit he wanted to do then we was like alright f*** shit I had him come grab me I had me and slide on me he actually was there but he wasn't there like he went at the when they got down what's up crazy before they left what's up crazy I'm like man don't go with that look I had my pipe well damn oh man but yeah I had that motherfucker on me I give it to him like man I'm good this nigga goofy I don't need it That's exactly what he told me He's a goofy fuck I said just like that You trust that nigga fuck But my man was like He ain't dangerous At the time Was you paying him for a feature What made him even want to link with you I don't know I don't know I seen a couple videos Interviews he did Trying to put me on

15:08I feel like Folks had his own motion too He was doing his shit too On the rap too He was one of them faces When really from Chicago was going up He was one of them faces I just wanted to do it I seen the motion with Dex It was a different type of lane of rapping I'm talking about Drill and shit that I'm really doing and shit that the streets, cause Voucher be like, yeah, shorty doing that. You rapping about, hello? You talking about like, bitches and finessing and money and partying. So I'm like, I can get on that wave. So let's do it. So then what? He come pick you up? He pick me up. I ain't know.

15:52So you in his car? Yeah, I'm in his car. We in lemon. Pug, pug. That bitch. You know, 25 miles per hour. That shit. That motherfucker. Fishbowl. Yeah. But he, What you know he give me you a change pull up on me. Yeah, I don't take that he pull up on you pull up in the hood He pull up on 120th and Perry Dolo he bombs up He Dolo he with uh, he was some nigga The other nigga that was in the video. All right, not actually who is this but he look like a movie It's so I'm like I ain't I ain't think nothing of it. Yeah, I ain't got my guards up But I should cuz I'll keep my guards up on Mac But I you were you were young you're new to the rap shit now I wasn't new.

16:34I was growing into the rap shit. You were first starting to really get attention. But it just, I ain't get no. What age was this to break that down? How old were you when this was going on? Because this is so many years ago. I ain't, I don't even know. I'm going to be 32. So that's. Whenever that shit, Mad Max. 2012. So you were like, it was like 20 years ago? You were like 12? I ain't gone. Nah, you wasn't that young. Nah, it wasn't 20 years ago. Oh, wait, it wasn't. 20 years ago, man. Why am I up the math? That's 15 years ago, sorry. 15 is shit so you're like 17 I was like 17 or something shit yeah I mean a lot of dudes like don't really have anything to do with dudes outside their area until they get in the rap game but he did though he did he had nothing to do with nothing like nothing like so he pick you up you get in the whip with both these niggas and y 'all got a destination to go to the studio right yeah he told me like oh I got a stool I got a stool or whatever What is that?

17:32Straight here. I got a stool. Ooh. That's true. Motherfucking. I'm like, man, we go. We hit the stool. We pull up. But when we pull up, it's fishy as hell. So y 'all actually made it to the studio? Yeah, we made it to the stool. That bitch, fishy. I'm doing this fishy. And we hit the birds. Like, we all come to the birds as we playing ball. Well, why you say it's fishy though? What made you stood out that you like, yeah, this is something right? Because we had a studio. How the way we move, we move correct. Like, we had a studio, that door open, we gon' go in that bitch. Or the studio main gon' pop out, we gon' do something, you know what I'm sayin'?

18:06So, it was just fishy. I just felt that it was fishy.

18:12But BBMB, I don't get over it. Whatever happen, happen. That's the type of thing out here. You get me, you better get me good. But I was thinking about that. I was with some f***ing goobies. What's gon' happen? But, uh, we bop out that bitch. We hop out the lemon. we bop out that bitch he looking around they looking around a nigga pop out at the door that bitch really like a bandeau now when I get when I get close now I'm at the stairs I'm on the porch now I'm on the board that bitch like a bandeau I'm peeping it out a nigga come to the door he like hold on but they politic I can't really remember but they politic and this shit by the time I turn around I see what I see I'm good but I'm thinking I'm because the person I am you get what I'm saying yeah I'm thinking motherfucking finna all right so that porch was the studio porch no that was a send-off move they sent his ass off so yeah break that now so how y 'all go from the studio to that porch because that wasn't that they told him I guess they I don't know what the I guess they was setting him up or they had something as in saying Katie all right I guess they were setting him up I guess but uh I guess they was gonna lower him now, whatever the fuck the case may be.

19:29I don't give a fuck. So in your mind, where you think you going? So y 'all hop back in the whip? Nah, we ain't never hopped back in the whip. We hopped out the car to the... We on the porch now. Now I'm... Oh, so the studio, the porch is what you thought was the studio. I never actually went into a studio. Oh, that's crazy. We just got on the porch. Me being me, I'm like, let me check the side of these crib. I don't like this now I ain't got my pipe on me so now I got a security mode breach of security so when I look I see what I see you got me type of nigga I am spank me all my officers would have spanked me it's just those guys I don't know what the f*** they was on and by how many niggas pulled up cause from what we see we see E-wall but we don't really see too many other niggas like rock around like six like six everybody got them bitches on them and you dola and AOKD and his homie.

20:28I'm dope. Them niggas don't count. They ain't got nothing to do with shit. This shit real with me. All right, so let me ask you this then, because the main thing Iwo was on, he was saying, he was telling you to say Chief Mankey. And then niggas don't be bullying shit. I ain't even finna come on here capping and woofing with niggas or saying niggas ain't doing them, don't bully shit. All that bully shit niggas be doing is internet shit sending niggas off that. Social media, all this shit. Niggas don't be bullying nothing, man. The streets know what the fuck going on. All right, so what was the moment where he kept telling you to say Chief Mankey?

20:56Like, what was that about? I don't know. I guess he felt like that was his moment. They put a camera out. That was their moment. Shit. I'm saying, who is that? Why that name? One of his homies, right? Just one of his homies. A dead nigga. Shit. But I guess somebody in your hood was dissing them back in the day? Because we don't. Or were you doing it? Yeah, you were doing it. We was. I was. On record, though? Like, this was music? Or you was just dissing this nigga? That type of tab? I was a shorty. My man was on some shorty shit. Yeah. Because you were dissing all these people in that Zach TV interview.

21:23but that ZACK TV interview was right after this, right? Yeah, it was after this. But I could do that because I was doing shit to people. Right, right. So it was like, the other shit, so it was like, okay. So you knew, so in your mind, you and EWO was into it already, so you knew if you ran into EWO, y 'all had a problem. Hey, okay, D don't hear on it, it had nothing to do with what y 'all got going on. Nothing. But it do seem like him and his homie set y 'all up because what the fuck, if y 'all never even went to a studio. So what's that conversation like with Ayo Kitty? All right, so they let him off the porch.

21:58No, look, look, look. But like I was saying, though, I ain't. Now I see them with a, I'm thinking they finna do them. But once I see the nigga movement, nigga body language. Yeah. Because if you gonna do something to a nigga, you gonna do something to her. You know what I'm saying? You ain't gonna look at a nigga and, oh, that's a, you gonna blow a motherfucker down or whatever the case may be. Whoop a nigga, whatever. You ain't do that. You know what I'm saying? Why do you think he didn't do that to you? I don't know. like the people who i'm into they would have did something you know what i'm saying they not gonna pull out no cameras yeah because that's internet my nigga that's goofy shit nigga killers don't pull out cameras motherfucker the now age the new era killer dude but yeah them on the wheel man come on man that shit corn bar shit but yeah though i seen that not seen how much of carried they self nigga wanted his moment yeah i guess he you know he was riding reckless way so he had to you know what I'm saying this was that was his little moment nigga got on off that shit not got on the nigga ain't on but nigga got notarized off that shit yeah how many times you said reckless renegade before he even made you or told you to stop saying it you never like where is it because he kept saying he reckless renegade out out your mouth like you was on record saying that shit no see I never uh

23:15I really don't give a fuck I ain't even I don't even say that Like Motherfucker If you know If you know you know I don't even say that type of shit You know what I'm saying So it's like So you admit that you might have Dis Chief Manky or whatever But like When it comes to the Reckless Renegade shit You wasn't even saying You don't even know What the fuck you was talking about I was saying Them at the time At the time I was saying I was reckless I was saying All right Dude You know what I'm saying I was saying Fuck him cause that's what type of time that's what we on and how far that hood is from y 'all hood for y 'all to even be into it like type shit cause they 79th or something right where Rico and them hood at compared to y 'all shit Rico hood yeah or Ewall hood it's near so he in the 100s too alright that makes sense Rico hood I don't know Hope on the Bird Hope on the Bird And he from the low end.

24:12And he from 75th.

24:17So he's from all over the place. Yeah. But that's because folks grew up, like, moving around different places. Like, I'm from the 100s. Yeah. Like, I'm strictly from the 100s. I'm a down-eat-o-deaf-ro nigga. But I had moved on 75th. That's how I got in tune with Fulham. That's how he got in tune with them. moving down so after you filmed the video how did this whole exchange end what you mean like how'd you end up going your own separate ways oh yeah they they they whoop a they not even whoop them we gonna pumpkin hit you we gonna beat you up oh my brother you're not just gonna get up and just uh we gonna beat you up the exact tv was the next day or like how many days later because you ain't had no black eyes or nothing i ain't had a scratch on me yeah i'm a homie so look the day day or two later so two days later you did exact tv my face was public that because i had a what's it called the the shit with your tooth was fucked up the root canal no the ass says shit whatever the fuck that's what my favorite play but a nigga ain't scratch me or nothing we whip a nigga we gonna beat the bones out your ass we not gonna let you get up your folks high yellow shit of anything you could have seen anything any scratch So in hindsight Shorty The little nigga that was there He got up out of the He a bitch Not AOKD the other dude He got up out of the He instant Were you feeling like AOKD might have set you up?

25:48I wasn't even thinking about that I was high as fuck Off them pills And I was thinking about like They got them They got them pipes They got them pipes This You know what I'm saying I ain't care about nothing else Like I ain't care about Nothing else Alright but hindsight When you look at it AOKD kind of got embarrassed In that situation too So like Why would he Backdoor you If he gonna look stupid too So like Do you think he Set you up But like How do you think They got your load For them to even pull up And even get you to that porch Cause if AOKD They got him to the porch That's some shit that Me you know Me and him We did talk After that But we ain't never had No grown man conversation Or no No thorough nigga conversation You got what I'm saying We ain't never had No real Political nigga Cause he ain't you know, they're politicking ass and nothing.

26:35Yeah. Me, I feel like that shit wasn't for folks, you feel me? Because honestly, like, no. I know what's going on in the streets. If it would have been that call that folks trying to go record, you feel me, it would have been different, like, just off the get-go. Like, I just think no cameras would have been pulled out, period, like, no. So you think they tricked him into going to the studio knowing that she was with him? Nah, I don't feel like they knew folks was with him. Nah, that's just my opinion. I don't feel like they knew folks was with them. Cause I been, I feel like if you known in the streets for, no, if you got ops in the streets, you feel me?

27:12And a nigga get the car, shit, a nigga depending on what you done did out here, how you coming out here, is gonna be thirsty on that car, you feel me? Yeah. And motherfucker ain't finna pull up and pull out no phone, you feel me? Off no car, so. So then my thing is, if that wasn't even the studio and they just really lured you out to a location, how did they even get Ayo to KD there? Like, how did they lure him there? What you think? If you break it down, what you think they told him to get him there? Especially if they don't even know that they're trying to get you. They just trying to lure him there for no reason?

27:46I don't know. They got him. They got us. They got him. Shit. I wouldn't got God for that shit. Yeah. I wasn't supposed to be, you know what I'm saying? I was supposed to have that bitch on me. Simple as that. But it's up, man.

28:02So you go back to your neighborhood and like how you go about like explaining this to him and did people want to like crash out when they heard about it? Uh, when that shit happened? Yeah. We don't crash out, we just do shit. Shit got done. Like, shit got done. Y 'all did that clown ass shit. Y 'all paid for that shit. Facts. But they had to let AOKD on a boy walk away and I guess they jumped you, right? you made you made phone calls niggas picked you up or some shit you wasn't beat up to the back i guess because we seen you just at tv so like how you get home that day like you got to call niggas niggas ain't robbed you i'm sorry usually when a nigga jump you they try to rob me and take whatever so they just jumped you and then left you about your business type shit yeah they wouldn't even have left me it was a it was like play fight with folks now yeah i'm my homie it was like play fighting with Foden, how the way a nigga was hitting him up.

29:01Foden don't play rougher than that. On that Zach TV shit, the main thing you kept saying, y 'all shouldn't let me off that porch. That was the most viral thing from the whole thing. Everybody kept saying, y 'all shouldn't let me off that porch. Man, yo, no. So, Zach, Ben got up with you, or like, that made him like, all right, we got to do the interview ASAP. Nah, me and Zach, Ben locked in. I ain't going to lie. Where y 'all relationship? I'll be Zach TV, man. so where y 'all filmed the uh the video at the next two days so where was that at and y 'all hood or something no y 'all just put up a little location yeah put up put up the reason i ask is uh one of the main dudes in the video he was the dude in the purple shirt i think he named j-rock yeah that nigga he went super viral from that video because he i guess he he seemed like he was the most mad nigga out of everybody out there that's my brother man that's my what's happening Yeah, what type of nigga was he?

29:55If you know folks. Real bug. Folks was a real bug. Real bug. Folks was fucked up. But if you know folks was a good nigga, like he fun. Folks was fun. A big ass baby to his brother. And he was a, he was a, you know? He was like a protector. Yeah, he was one of them ones like, you gotta love, you feel me? He ain't gonna leave nobody behind type nigga. He fucked around. If the odds were one of the odds, you'd be around folks, they'd fuck around. Folks was a good nigga to be around. Yeah. An overall good nigga to be around. But folks just beat people up and spank shit. On a little J-Rod. On a little Glizzy.

30:30How you feel about this music shit after all these years? Do you feel like, I guess you feel like slept on? Hey, yo, yeah. Y 'all got me fucked up. Y 'all sound these weak ass niggas. A lot of these rappers can't hear rap, man. A lot of these niggas, that shit be trash. I want to hear a nigga rap. If you're going to rap, rap. Sing, sing. Y 'all got me fucked up. So what stalled you out? Because think about it like this. You did four years in jail, but that was kind of like recently. I just was in the streets. And I was doing shit. I was getting some money. I wasn't like that sound backwards. I was getting some money.

31:09I was investing in music, but I was doing shit. Like I was, it was grand time. I was in the streets. I was on some rapping shit, but I was doing what I was doing at that time. I just feel like folks wasn't focused enough, you feel me, on the right shit, you feel me, after that. Because shit, everybody like capitalize off they moment type shit, you feel me, like rather good or bad, but folks ain't care about that shit. I just feel like - And niggas wasn't making them numbers. My shit was doing numbers. He was doing what he was doing, shit. My shit was doing numbers, niggas wanted to do, and I was just, fuck that shit, I'm finna go beat this road down.

31:46Fuck that shit. So what made you more focused lately on the music?

31:55I'm matured. I had time to think and reconstruct myself a lot. So I'm like, all right, I need to. Most of them did. They giving out millions for this shit. They giving niggas millions for this shit. This shit easy. Like, the shit I got, this shit easy. Do you regret being too in the streets back in the day when you first started having emotion with the music and you wish you had, like, focused on that more? Yeah, I can agree with you. I don't fully regret it. I just feel like I should have paid attention. You know what I'm saying? I should have calmed my ass down. Yeah. Change some little shit.

32:34That's it. And a lot of times with the music, people think like, oh, I got plenty of time to make music and et cetera. But then like in reality, there's new rappers popping out all the time and you kind of got to grab your moment right when it happens. Yeah, really. but i was like i said i was doing shit but like i was tweaking yeah i had that for real i was tweaking i had that moment so many times i ain't gonna lie i had that moment where i could have been yeah ben took off but i was you was moving around crazy because you got shot back then too didn't it what year was that um 2019. oh so that was all right so break down that day well what you what happened the day you got shot or like what you was doing um long-lived fat man my little brother had passed away my little brother he had passed away and shit he was his friend or his birthday or some shit nah he just passed i'm talking about the day i got hit yeah it was just like one of the days after he passed yeah we was just chilling you know motherfuckers got up on the motherfucker and whatever happened happened yeah but you just in the whip like you outside niggas get hit you i was outside word i was outside that was your first time getting shot i mean how many times you got oh where you got hit at that's like you stomach all the stomach oh damn how many songs three all right so what's the recovery process like for that uh how long they had you at the hospital yeah that recovery process was a month like you said you ain't got shot yeah nah three and the stomach different though yeah and i'm a little too skinny so but i surprised i'm a warrior so

34:31you know i threw the stomach different because you know get shot in the arm or some but like that was a though that that healing process was how long was the healing process I had to sit in that motherfucker for months. Like months. I don't know how long, but it was months. It was months. I was in that bitch for months. Even when I came home, I had to do all type of shit. Like shit bag and all that. Physical therapy? I just had to sit. No shit bag. No shit bag. No shit bag. Nigga ain't shit bag me, man. Just a simple man. They ain't yet stitched me up or stepping me up. I healed up. I'm just saying, because have you seen Ewald lately? You seen like he's transitioning, like he's more mature now. He's doing like Afro beat music and shit. He came up here and did an interview, and it was super positive. He ain't on the same shit. You ain't got no choice but to grow.

36:44You know what I'm saying? Who the fuck? He probably just at the point where he like, all right, I'm going to grow from this shit. You know what I'm saying? Niggas grown. You a grown-ass man. You know what I'm saying? You got to stand on something. You got to do it, though. But niggas want to stay out the way, so that's what he on, probably. Whatever the fuck he's doing. 37:35Nah How you feel about like people coming together? J-Man cannot make that happen. So that's one that ain't going to happen? Nah, that ain't going to happen. He know that ain't going to happen. You know what I'm saying? I ain't going to lie. I'm on some grown men shit, fool. Like I'm on some different shit, man. I'm on some just. But that shit, that street shit. You know what I'm saying? Street shit stay in the streets. You know what I'm saying? That's what's going to happen if we see each other. But other than that, I'm out the way. You out the way, I'm out the way. You know what time it is. other than that it's too much money out here to be worried about what happened in 2016 15 yeah I hate that you even like every interview niggas wanna bring that up like you gotta retell that story right yeah but now I ain't gonna retell it I'm just gonna make a watch shit it's life shit folks got one you feel me yeah niggas can't tell a story again you feel me I ain't one of them niggas what niggas get yeah I ain't one of them niggas what niggas get or a nigga just oh that happened to him that was that's why it was big what y 'all think that's why it went blew up look who the nigga they did it to you think that would have blew up if that was a nobody on that porch or that wasn't me like and that was early days of like shit going viral like you want to yeah now it's like if somebody would have if it was just aokd and dude and that would have happened it probably it would have made some noise but it would never you know what i'm saying yeah it's like now we see like a new clip of somebody getting beat up or hoed out or whatever all the time but at that time it was like you got one clip like that and it's like dudes are talking about it for months like it's just i ain't never get beat up or what a whole whatever you just said i got played with played with right y 'all play with me that's what happened

You did four years of jail, you wasn't really doing jail time. Yeah. So how do you think you able to manage to stay alive and like move and maneuver these Chicago streets and not get caught up? Like how a lot of niggas might, you know, die young or. I ain't gonna lie, if you still in Iraq and you a face and you getting some money, whatever you not getting, whatever you doing, if you a face and you still in Iraq, yo, that's a good.
