In short
Wkhysogrimey (Why So Grimy) and Active talk about growing up in South Central’s Florence District, getting into “game banging,” starting rap, hood identity/tattoos, police encounters, and a viral Blue Strips incident involving P-Face Baby where a gun was pulled and a fight broke out. They also discuss “hood vlogs,” beef/ops, touring up north, prison life, and dating/culture.
Guests and backgrounds
Wkhysogrimey, 19, raised in Florence; moved to Rialto with his dad at 15–16; started rapping about two years ago. Active, 27, grew up in a family street environment; says he did 13 years (served 7.5) for a “saltwater semi-farm,” later re-incarcerated; has face tattoos tied to his clique/hood.

How y 'all feeling? Good. Chilling man, chilling. You know, ready for this podcast? Yeah man. Welcome to the pod. You got a crazy new face tattoo with the Spitfire logo right there, huh? Yeah, yeah. That's brand new dude. You ain't f***ing around at all. Hell yeah. Bro, the cop pulls you over? anybody killer above your eye OTF on the side just throw yourself in that Rico yeah yeah okay I figured and then the ski mask Jason face I was gonna say I thought the left side of your face didn't have anything but now you got someone else out too damn I like it man I wish I had the balls to just fully tap my whole face right now just go crazy I mean, that shit's viral, man.
0:56People love that shit. Yeah. You know, it goes with the little image, little rap image. Nah, exactly. Like, you're young, you're a joint, you're rapping, you gotta get your whole shit blasted. Why not? Yeah, yeah. Let them know. You're really about that life, man. I support it. If I had an artist, that's the whole face immediately. Like Baldacci? What's it called? Yes. Young Baldacci would be my artist for sure. I wanted to tell you a clip. My boy, Dopey, I don't know. You remember my boy? Oh, shit, Dopey. Yeah, yeah, because I met him outside. Oh, what up, bro? What's up? Lock one in with my boy.
1:28Let's see. It's gone, man. I'm supposed to interview him, too. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I brought him for you to lock him in, you know? Shout out to Young Dope. Because he's... I seen him outside of the jail when we were all doing a little thing on Brick Baby's birthday, and he was out there supporting one of his homies, too. He was locked up in the same facility. Okay. Damn. That's dope, man. So, yeah, for the people out there, let's get into it. Why so grimy? Where are you from? Where did you come up at? From the South Central, Florence District. That's really where I was raised in. I did move out for a little bit, for like two years with my pops and shit.
2:05But then I came back to the area and then started game banging and shit. Where did you move for a little while with your pops? To Rialto. Okay. Rialto, California. What was it like out there? Was it kind of quiet? It was kind of active out there too, I ain't gonna lie. Same old bitch. You know, she was really active out there too, I ain't gonna lie. But you were young when you were out there? I was like 15, 16. Okay. Yeah. And so then you, what were your parents like though? See, my dad was, he's from my hood too, but he was just like, he just didn't want me to be part of that life for me. So that's the reason he kind of like took me over to Rialto and stuff and moved out from the area and shit.
2:44But like, I kind of like, I had, like, we just had partners, like me and him, like we was in like, we was close, but like, it was like, we would have partners with each other type shit for me. like we'll get into it with each other and shit like that. You and your pops? Yeah, so like one time I just took off from over there and I left from his house. Like I took the bus all the way from over there. Like I think it was Union, all the way from Union. All the way back to L.A.? Yeah, all the way to L.A. And then I walked there all the way from like Alameda from where the Union is at all the way to my hood basically.
3:13Like that's like 50, 60 blocks. Oh, shit. I walked through 38 streets and all that. No phone, nothing, shit. So nothing popped off? No treacherous at that time? I made it safe all the way to like the 50s where the Pueblos is at and I caught a bus like more to the 70s to my hood and shit. So the quiet life out there just wasn't for you? Nah, it wasn't for me. It was like, that shit was different, way different, you know? What do you think like attracted you to the street lifestyle so much? Just like, like I was in the area like around probably like when I was in like 6th grade, fifth grade, sixth grade, and seventh grade, I was like, grew up around, I grew up in the hood and shit.
3:55And I just like, I already knew what it was and shit. So when I left over there, I was already like over there kind of like banging that shit. Right. Like claiming the hood over there and shit in the IE, you know? But were you somebody where like, you felt like you needed to be from the hood to like, just sustain, to like, for protection and shit like that? Or were you just like, in love with the lifestyle? Yeah, just cause like, I see, I see how my family, yeah, family time, yeah, that's it, really what it was. for sure um okay so uh did you just have like a lot of older homies or whatever that were already from there or how did that kind of play out like my my yeah yeah like like my popsies all his like his people's and his homies like that's how that's how i know dopey and that's how i know like a lot of people like because of my pops and shit you feel me because they like we grew up environment like the same environment yeah like and then i just seen other people come around you feel me like older people and i just knew everything what it was you feel me so i just wanted to follow to the footsteps and i guess should we get a mic for dopey too yeah yeah we all got good man we got a hell of questions for all of us you know oh hell yeah perfect man um so wait do you feel like the older dudes kind of like uh appreciated your energy because you were you were real active and turned up yeah yeah yeah really yeah because they see me like doing my shit so they like salute to my little thing i got popping i guess okay but so you you are officially from the hood when you're 16 when you start rapping when did i start rapping yeah uh really like man probably two years ago really how old are you right now i'm 19 just turned 19 last month okay yeah and was that always like a plan of yours you always uh were attracted to doing the music and everything yeah i was doing it but i wasn't taking it like serious i wasn't thinking it was gonna pop up but like by the time like it just started like developing you feel me at first it was just like people like some people look like certain little people from like around my area like started to recognize me and then that just started going like more mainstream type i guess not mainstream but like like more work people around the city yeah yeah a lot of areas people i get recognized everywhere like that's crazy definitely where where the name come from Really just like I don't know Just like I don't know I just thought like Why you so grimy Like I don't know Is that what people were asking you?
6:14Like you seem like a good kid Just a couple years ago Why you so grimy now? Why you so grimy? That's how I imagine it Yeah tight still like that Yeah What's your definition of grimy though? Like Shit just like I ain't no janky Like but I could be janky You know what? At times You click for a double S What you mean nigga? Nah but yeah But nah I'm not no grimy nigga but it's just like not with my people you feel me but but if it's somebody that you don't necessarily know you're gonna slime them out yeah
6:46oh man were you getting in trouble like all through your teenage years and shit like that like have you been arrested and all that shit yeah yeah just fucking out there just trying to make money really doing shit that stuff you know shit like that just regular shit you know definitely usually shit but you know I ain't really was I was just in the house. I just hit the house like two times. You feel me? And that's it. Okay. Do it now. Yeah. Definitely. We're going to get Dopey in here too to get some commentary. Hell yeah. All right. All right, Dopey, introduce yourself, man. We got to introduce active too here.
7:23So tell me how you got familiar with Why So Grimey. Yeah, man. This is the boy right here. It's Dio, man. I'm doing his shit. I'm doing my shit. My boy Rich Mike Moolah, remember? Uh-huh. He was right there in the little, you know how I made a shit. He came to show love, show the homie was right there. But did he stood out to you as somebody that was really like... He told me like, hey, my little nephew out there. He had a free Richie, he's locked there right now. He was doing his rap and shit. And then he got locked up. He gonna come back home soon. Get it popping. That's my uncle and shit. So do you feel like you're one of the older representatives of Florencia now at this point?
8:03like this yeah you you did a bunch of time no i've been street smart
8:12okay now you're smart okay for sure
8:24you know yeah active back in there give us a little description of where you coming from and what you've been through growing up like a group environment everybody from the trying to pull in a little bit yeah just mom dad aunties uncles everybody i grew up in it you know and i mean i didn't think i was in kamali there but i ended up gaming but school i liked school and i played basketball i love basketball so i was on the teams everywhere every school i went
8:59I was in the streets, yeah. I was in the streets and I don't know when. By the time I turned 18 I was in prison. Me and his uncle, you know. That's my only Rex, you know. How old are you? 27. 27, alright. So you're a little bit on the older side of things? Yeah, a little bit, I mean, a little bit on the young side.
9:23I took 13 years My crummy took 17 He's still in there I got out Went back Got out again You took 13 years for what? Just a saltwater semi-farm No big deal He shrugged when he said that No big deal But okay So you got 13 And then how many you end up doing? I did 7 and a half Okay But I got early kick out of nowhere So You know But I don't know I didn't think I was ready To get out? No, I wasn't ready. Why? I wasn't prepared. I guess it was out of nowhere. They gave me like five days notice before you go home. Really? You're lying. I looked and I went. It was true, so I wasn't prepared for it, you know?
10:06I didn't come back in a month. And you just went back to the regular world? You didn't put it in a halfway house or anything like that? And I just had a half years that time. I got out one month. Went back in, did three more, but he got out. I just went back to the county for some bullshit, but he got out too. Like last month. Like a month. For sure. So, okay, why you got the 64 on your face? It's my clique. Okay. It's clique, 64. And then the other one just says SS? Yep. Oh, okay. MDF. Okay. And what's the MK? More Town Killer. More Town Killer? Regular, yeah. And then with Mariano, but it's crossed out.
10:53Who's Mariano? One of my exes. Oh, shit. A long time ago, when I was in prison, my first term. Damn, and you got the tattoo while you were in there? Yeah, when I was in there. And she what, snaked you or what? Yeah. Damn. Fell off. Take a basic bit. That's too bad. I'm sorry to hear that. That's straight, you know. You just got to move on. Yeah, yeah, no. Life is hard. You got to get your heart broken a few times along the way. Right, Dopey? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Pushing. Don't look back. That's right. Yeah, we always do better. Keep leveling up. Come out, keep buttoning out better, brother. Yeah.
11:25But do other girls always ask about that? Like, damn, you got another girl on your face, huh? I'm going to take it off and put something else. I mean, I want to cover it, but I don't put anything big, you know, in my face. But I'll probably just take it off. Yeah, you can get a laser a couple times. Get a new girl's name on it. Just go to Homeboys, you know? Oh, they do that for you, huh? Damn. That's lit. What's uh what's the loonies right here? It's six four loonies, you know? Okay, that's that's the name of the hood too, okay. And then what's there's one more here too. What's the name of the hood too?
11:56To activate it. Oh, okay. Yeah, to activate it. What's your definition of activated?
12:04Like in the hood, tent up, you know? What do we gotta do? You know out there in the streets? Trying to survive. Trying to survive, you know? And game ain't the same time. You know? Right. But I mean growing up now is different you know it's not the same like like back then we were you know What's the biggest difference? It's not the same. My fuckers a lot of days ain't gonna fight. As a youngster I could say the same shit. You know? Back then shit I would do a squabble you know? Yeah real quick. Fight each other and get up. Nah to do something you know? Hell yeah. He still squabber this shit too.
12:38Not that my fuckers gonna pull out guns and shit you know but. That's the way he was. Nobody wanna fight anymore? Nah shit. You can't be entertained no more. Nah there's a lot of you ain't still breaking the shit. game ain't got any change it's just I don't know shit really different ain't really nothing you can do out here now you getting caught up you feel me
12:58what changes have you seen cause you're a young I'm just a young I just know what I said from my shit how their generation was from our generation we still turned up young youngsters we still turned up but their shit was more I don't know, I could just say more, more crazy, you feel me? It was really more crazy, more vicious back then, you feel me? Right, because if I'm not mistaken, though, Florencia is like one of the older hoods in L.A. that's like a real legendary neighborhood, right? You know, you know. And even the fact that you coming in with somebody like him who's quite a few decades older than you, that kind of stands out, right?
13:36Hell yeah. That you guys are actually tapped in with the older dudes from your neighborhood? For sure, hell yeah, for sure. Hell yeah. And that kind of stands out because I feel like so many people that we talk to on some gangster They're basically like, yeah, we don't got no OGs. Nobody can tell us what to do I'm still young, brother Okay, I thought you were gonna be older Nah, but y 'all still a generation before me, so it's like, y 'all still like 10 years ahead, you feel me? Like way back 10 years back, you feel me? Dopey just comes off like, see, I assumed he had done prison time And I assumed that he was like probably closer to the lead 30s I lost the game.
14:13Yeah. I'm falling. Bang, right to the floor. That's amazing, brother. I'm on some other s***. I guess also because I met you. I met him outside of a jail. I'm hungry, brother. Persuaded me. Definitely. So, yeah. Yeah, like, I mean, as far as, like, being from that neighborhood, though, does it feel like there's a lot of pressure in a way to, like, maintain the image and everything? Like, it's really on you to make your s*** look good, right? I should be crazy out there game like yeah I'm gonna recognize but we began recognize by so many people who like it be crazy like we're running into enemies all type of I'm over here driving in a uber going going down the going down right there yeah some full from watch banging on me through traffic yeah you would get put over to being honest I'm like any videos was like oh look yeah he put up he can he put over by the cousin the random he's passing by just taking their head out this you know it should be like it's not i'm not saying like you know how their generation it's the it's the dangerous i mean i feel like you could have maybe been more low-key if you guys didn't both have your blasted all over your faces yeah you know we know we know we signed the for and shit like so why put a k after a w in your name not your favorite letter i mean you just mentioned some dudes from from watts so is it like is that what it primarily stands for because somebody told me it was from something else okay because i'm familiar with all the the black hoods and watts but not really what's going with the mexican side of oh yeah we but man we'd be for all the all that's like the whole side black neighborhoods mexican neighborhoods from that side all that right dude y 'all it's like damn enemies everywhere did y 'all grow like from your perspective do you guys grow up like having smoke with black gangs or just mexican hoods everybody yeah some some black some black hoots be tripping too you know for sure hell yeah for sure i never i never got into my education but it'd be tripping yeah now it's changed man yeah because it used to be a lot worse yeah so many candle lights every corner that's why i say it's more it was more dangerous but think for me like every corner brother she was really everywhere For sure I mean would you consider one of the things that made you kind of pop out as a rapper to be the the hood vlog that you do with DC baby draco over there She yeah, she kind of did help like what's on she could as how money I think they started going about it So good off that vlog I was like doing that we did that vlog and she I know you know dad getting our name out there, you know at the blue strip on thing they did pictures that people do work.
17:19Yeah, yeah I was already but I was already kind of known like a little bit you feel me like but yeah that vlog did do a little more you feel me helped out more you feel me do you have to get permission from anybody to film in the neighborhood or I mean I do like no we don't not really not necessarily we're not just talking about we're not talking about nothing wrong and shit okay so like you but you understand what you can and can't show in that sort of environment for sure yeah yeah for sure all right that's what's up um so who set that up you know anyone set it up for you or that was just like uh nah cause okay it's dc baby draco he posted on his um story he posted like oh who's um hood day y 'all want me to pull up to and it was like on hood day that same day like i just i just read his story i didn't even follow him with i just read his story and then like he posted on on his story like right away like 20 everybody was up for like 20 minutes and it was like oh what hood vlog what hood day y 'all want me to pull up to him i just hit him up because it was our hood day you feel me so i told him like hey pull up same day he pulled up and we got it we got it the first one with my real birthday yeah yeah i don't know friday 13 it's his birthday there is any awkwardness about having somebody who's not from your there on the hood day or it's all good it was cool it was all homies right there it was all homies and he was chill ago yeah man we had this girl on the podcast last night and she just starts telling us that dc baby draco's her boyfriend and she's like just talking about how good his is i couldn't believe it she's surprised the i mean i had no idea she was gonna say that and then she started just talking all about it i'm like damn good for you what who is she like her name is uh uh chunky barbie oh you know i'm talking about the one from 90s yes never it's crazy to be like even just hanging an hour with a girl who's got big hk on her hand i'm like every girl i spend time with is you know basically just like a regular person like a chill just chilling like casual ladies having that shit in your hand like just i don't know it's just like like i can get used to being around a dude like cript mac but to be around a girl who got that kind of shit on him is crazy I don't know.
19:33Oh, you were with Krimack? Yeah, in the studio. I got a song with him too. What? That's legendary. That's an iconic verse right there. Nah, for sure. We about to do the music video, everything to me, Blanco, and Krimack. Oh, that's the first black rapper you did a song with? Yeah, and then I got a song with G Money too. G Money, I guess he's considered it for me. Yeah, wait, oh, kidding from a black hood, right? Yeah, yeah. Nah, you and G Money together is good. You guys are like the most lit Edgars coming out the city right now. All right. We doing our shit, yeah. Right. I could call you an Edgar.
20:06That's not offensive, right? Nah, hell not. Oh, okay. Fat Edgar. Fat Edgar. But yo, like, Edgar's like, is Edgar like a Southsider thing only? I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, I think he is. That shit is. I don't know what guard, I feel like if I go with an egg guard over, I feel like my shit look too cut, and it look stupid. And then like Dobie. Oh, I have to start doing it. Okay, the only reason why I say that is because I seen a clip the other day that I was interviewing this Norteño rapper, right? And I said something about his haircut. And I was like, oh, it's kind of like an Edgar in the front.
20:42And I didn't notice it when I was doing the interview, but he got mad uncomfortable and was like, nah, you can't put the word Edgar with me at all, bro. He was really not feeling it. And I'm like, I didn't really think about it at all until later. And I'm like, oh, I guess maybe that's an L.A. term, so they don't like it being applied to them. No, that's crazy. That's crazy. Oh, no. All right. All right. So, yo, that vlog that you guys did, that you had the cops all harassing you and shit. Like, what's your relationship with the police in your area? Shit, they're weird. They get up on us all the time, but shit, they be letting us go like nothing.
21:19We'll be... They just went on shit. Shit. We'll be out the way quick. I don't need to try to be seen, though, but... We'll be trying to get out the way. When they see me, they even pull us over. Regardless. Right away they see our face and they gonna pull us over Just cause they know like who we are in that area They just wanna see what we up to They just wanna make sure we not They have such a car They just wanna do this They just search your car like Randomly, regularly? Probation? Yeah They do Depends who it is Some kind of be just like whatever They just be like They just be like, you know, let's get this shit over real quick.
22:02We'll just be right there, just listening. So music like your full-time thing at this point? Do you graduate high school? No, I didn't. You didn't? Me neither. No. We could still do that shit. Oh, you might want to go back? No, we could do that homeboy. Shit, that shit. It was easy. Why not? Wait, so you could get your high school equivalent diploma through homeboy industries they got school and everything oh they do okay they help yeah they obviously the homies that there's some ways that we're gonna get us in there late you know that's what's up yeah i feel like i wouldn't i probably would but i probably wouldn't at the same time if the music she goes good you feel me right i just think to do later yeah yeah yeah time when i'm already successful you feel me yeah i'm not gonna lie this is probably a waste of time at this point at this time you feel me especially especially i got this like for myself so i could I don't gotta be...
22:56Yeah, that shit's gonna take time on my, you feel me, music things and shit. Nah, definitely. So what kind of music would you grow up listening to? Shit, like the usual shit like Draco, fucking Bravo, Frosty, all that shit. Baby Stones. Fools from Hoover, I listen to them, Fools from Hoover too. Yeah, J-Five, Shaze Poke, Trey Way, yeah, all that. I'm just curious if that even like applies to you or if you just strictly Or like B.O.E.

I got my little first album coming out soon, so I'm trying to get all type of rappers on that shit. You feel me? Okay, so is there anything about a Mexican dude who's from a black hood that rubs you the wrong way, or is it just whatever?
24:14You don't give a f*** at all? That's damn it. That's them, you feel me? I didn't choose that way. I didn't choose to go that way. Because I just had a rapper on here, Rich Rabbit, who he's from, you know, he's a black dude from a Mexican hood. We got gang of those too. That's regular for y 'all? We got gang of those. That's normal thing, brother. Yeah, we got a lot of them. Prison is too loud. And nobody gives a f***ing name, like the old heads? There's nothing controversial about that? Nah, because they really move, like, south side of the way, you feel me? They don't act black They don't act black They're like straight Mexicans They'll be acting more Mexican than a Mexican person Define act black though Like shit like just try to They don't act I'm not saying like damn You got yourself in a corner a little bit Nah I'll save you though Cause when I was interviewing Rich Rabbit He was kinda saying that like He rocks like acai and purple jeans And like basically just dresses like a regular LA dude And I was asking him like Is there any kind of pressure where they feel like because you're from a Mexican hood that you're supposed to abide by that dress code a little bit more?
25:21But then somebody like you, first name comes in your mouth when you're talking about the rappers you listen to, Draco. I feel like a lot of the younger Mexican cats in LA, they listen to a lot of black music and they don't really give a f***. Not hell yeah. They all give each other a couple of swag and shit. Like that, I guess.
25:45who you haven't really got a chance to work with or anything like who stands out to you that you feel like you can make some dope with it can't even be like people that passed or just like just anybody yeah somebody alive i guess I like um They answer me on that shit Who's really doing that shit? Shit Lefty Oh yeah Lefty I'll do social I know Lefty I know in prison They were in the same Same prison and shit Okay You feeling You like Lefty's music Or are you more into like The antics and the social media shit? I like fuck with his music He's too Right I mean he got a Grammy I'm scared to like mention Different rappers around y 'all Cause I don't know who y 'all beef with Shit, fuck It don't matter We won't let it be known Right You couldn't do a song with an op Even if they were really popping?
26:34Nah There'll be an answer for you He's like, no sir Nah, we done some With some great Nah Richie Yeah, Richie done some shit With some Project Baby Twin You know Project Baby Twin Yeah, yeah, yeah He got My uncle did some shit With that nigga Right, definitely But Yeah Oh, okay. So I forgot to ask this earlier, but um, so your mom actually lost custody when you were nine Yeah, yeah, so what what led to that situation? You know She was just in the streets Yeah, one way or another she from she from a water to I turn around any time for mom. I like that But she from me she from the absolute from she from my eyes.
27:23She is But that's my mom. Was that awkward ever at any point? Nah, not at all. I just grew up like, you know, living my mom, so it was nothing like it for me. Chunky Barbie told me that if I was her boyfriend that I couldn't hang out with anybody from Hoover. Oh, shit. I asked her that last night. Damn. That's when I realized I could never date a girl like that. I'm like, I'm gonna fucking hang out. Like, you gotta stop hanging out with people for me. I'm hanging out with whoever. I'm a journalist, man. You can't tell me shit. I'm fucking whoever you want. Right? Yeah, real shit. That's crazy.
27:55I don't know. Chunky Barbie. I was trying to convince her that Chunky has a K in it. What's the name? Normally, yeah. Oh, okay, okay. She has a C. She's like, no, there's no K. And I'm like, there is a K. She has a C? Yeah, she's C-H-U-N-C-Y. They're the K. Oh, man. Yeah. She's like, Adam, you better not say what comes before the K. Oh, okay. I'm like, okay, I got you. I got you. I'm not fully from here, but I can figure that out. all right yeah you feel like you always date mexican chicks or you could you date a black woman i never did i never did no right i don't even lie i never did anything i never did you think you could though or you think that the the cultural differences would be too much no i could i don't see why not i'm not active did already i know this i know these fools did you guys I feel it, man.
28:52My uncle in the pen, too. I done told him that fool talking about he smacked females from Hoover and some other shit. He already been down for like 10 years, imagine. Okay. That was back thing, generation. He was smacking females from... Pussy's too important, man. You can't be turning up just because of where they're from or the race, you know? For sure. Yeah, pussy's too important. We got to override some shit. It don't matter, man. It don't matter. It don't matter.
29:21So, you grew up saying the N word, I assume? I did, because I just grew up around fucking... I was just going to the IE, bro. IE fucking... I'm going to say nigga regardless. It's a normal thing. A lot of people... They get mad in prison, too, when you talk to that. But I don't give a fuck. Some folks are trying to check these. You do have to watch who you talk to, you know? but like if I fuck with you or like close to nobody I'm here you know but you do that respect so basically nobody could tell you that's just how you came up you're gonna talk okay it's essential you know yeah it is weird because I feel like everybody in the streets pretty much for the most part don't give a and then it's like you see people online complaining about it and that makes like the whole because I'm gonna be real like every Hispanic person I've been around my whole life when I was on the East Coast and out here.

30:19Yeah. Everybody, they always said it. In New York and shit back in the day. I try not to say it a lot no more. Oh, yeah? Now that I be raping and stuff, I be trying not to say it, but it just, that shit stuck to me. That shit stuck to me, I don't know. It's just like, I ain't gonna lie, I grew up in the, I grew up in 48, and I'm over here pointing this way, like I'm thinking I'm over here in the hood and shit. But all right, but I grew up in the low-bottom studio, I grew up in the right there. And I grew up, I was there for like two, three years, it was in 48th Street, I was like in 38th Street, type kind of not like a little more above but like my mom even my mom was fucking with a fool from that head you feel me i was just young i was just a little kid you feel me and she was fucking with something from 38 and shit and and that block right there i just knew nothing but it was like nothing but um african-american little kids and shit so i'll just go out there and play with them and shit and i just like like they'll talk like that like they was as young as mine he's like nine years old and shit and they'll be saying nigga and shit and i just got used to that and then I moved to the IE for being out there.
31:19It was like nothing but, not nothing but African-Americans, but it was a lot of African-Americans too out there and shit. You know? Yeah, shit. It's not just fake. Nothing, yeah, you know? My family black. That's why some black people, that's why certain - Your dad's black? You mixed? No, no, no. I'm Mexican, but he raised me though. Oh, okay. I raised my black. Oh, that's what's up. Hell yeah. Yo, you heard that new Phoenix Flexin' song? Yeah, that rubber shit. What do you think about it? Man, that shit stay popping up on my... That shit crazy. Yo, I can't even lie. I feel like that is the most...
31:56That's crazy. That's the most I've heard people talk about a song from a rapper in LA in a long time. I've known Phoenix for like 10 years. Way back. And I was so shocked when I heard that song. But I really feel like it's brilliant. like he's gonna have a whole different arc in his career that just blew back right back up like just how it was in the beginning like damn yeah you when you were growing up you listening to shoreline yeah yeah i was bumping that when they barely just came out like musty and i was on that that was a great era yeah yeah yeah that's when sob too started coming out sob shit definitely um okay so was it a big decision to start getting your face blasted or you just dived right in i just did it i just did it the homie that did it for me he's from my head he was just like do it fuck it i was like all right yeah i was not like all right but he was i was like i just do my face i don't look bad all right just do it nigga did it then he did his you know i remember back in the day uh desto dub from avalava cop syrup i I said to him, I said, I was like, what's the most fucked up thing you ever did?
33:06Like, we must have been high as fuck if I was asking him a generic question like that. But I was like, what's the most fucked up shit you ever did? He looks right at me. He goes, probably tattooing a 16-year-old's face. Nah. But did he know what he was doing? Yeah, but he used to it before the clothes shit. He was, like, mostly a tattooer. Like, his old Twitter is Tatman Dub. What the fuck? And I was so surprised that that was what came to mind, like, of, like, things that he felt bad for. but i was like i guess you know yeah 16 year old getting their face tattooed is kind of like for sure like that's illegal like you could get in trouble for that but it's pretty unlikely because they would have to like catchy i don't know like yeah or the people people probably try to like file or like sue them or something yeah or maybe like you go home to your parents and then they just freak them out call the cops i don't know i guess it's possible yeah damn all right Alright so I wanted to Ask about this So like There was a Infamous moment Where I guess you went To that Blue Strips Yeah Store And you ended up Running into P-Face Baby Yeah Who has been on this podcast Shout out to him So I f*** with him But There was an iconic moment That ended up going viral On social media Where basically He just pulls out a blick That was for you Like were you like Right there He got lucky He got lucky He got lucky My boy active And my other boy They just took off in a lamp.
34:28The homie left them borrowed the lamp, took off to the store. So you had just dipped out? Yeah, he just left it. And right away, he entered into the, and started taking pictures with fans and shit. And it was like, I was a, Billy was right there. He was telling me, he was like, hey, look, he face right there. And then I seen him, I look, and I just seen him. He's right there taking pictures and shit. And then he's like, let's go to him. I'm like, yeah, straight up. I told him, but he was like, let's go, let's go, get on. I was like, nah, it's good, it's good. And then, like, I don't know what Billy did, but I don't know.
35:00I just started walking up to P-Face like myself. And then my little homie, little clumsy and shit, started following me and shit. And we just walked up. I ain't going to really say it. Like, the video, y 'all see what happened. You can see what happened, you feel me? Yeah, I guess. He tried to pull it back and it jammed? I don't know. I don't know. His shit was bullshit, though. Okay. He knew that shit was a jammer. But how did that situation... Yeah, that shit was for sure. At the end of the day, it was for sure. But what's it called? Yeah, like, he f***ing, I guess. He f***ing. I was trying to get to him.
35:33Like, I was really trying to just go head up and catch the fate real quick. Okay. And shit, I guess his... First, right away, like, his older homie put that shit. And whatever, whatever happened, y 'all seen what happened, I guess. I ain't gonna say too much and shit, but... But so what? Everybody just kind of cleared out after that? At the end, I just socked that fool's older homie. His older homie. Really? Yeah, some nigga named Lil Man. Nigga's a straight bitch, nigga. How the fuck you gonna let a nigga just sock you and you just gonna laugh right there? You pull out a gun and not use it to him.
36:02Nigga, what the fuck? And P-Figure, nigga, over here, shaking over here, forcing himself towards the back, like, nigga. And it wasn't even, it was a fair, nigga. I was with my Lil Humm, but he barely 14 years old. You know, and then it was just me and Dopey was right there in the back, just standing, you feel me? He was in the cut, and then it was me. I was right there just pushing up on them and shit. He could have just went head up, you feel me? But he want to do the most from the kids and shit. Like, how the fuck you going to do all that, nigga? We got kicked out. You guys got kicked out because of that?
36:31Yeah. Yeah. Because the owner is his people and shit. Like, those people, the owner of... Okay. So, he just told us, like, oh, like, yeah, shout out, BlueStream. Because it did occur to me when I saw that. I'm like, this kind of thing is why, like, a lot of people don't want to start stores in the hood. Yeah, like, I don't know. He knew what he was doing Coming to his head Nah he knew He knew what's up He was shying Man I saw the guy When I was looking When I seen him And he seen me I was just dogging The fuck out of him And that fool His foot right there Spookly talking to Other homie already Like already scared Cause he already knew Like what the fuck What timing Well I don't know He knew what timing was on But I was really on that Had you ever gone back and forth On social media before that That was the first time Running into each other First time baby I never had nothing Yeah I asked him questions I ain't gonna lie And Juvenile Hall I was locked up And one of his homies One of his homies Named Greedy Some shit Yeah Greedy And what's it called He was cool Like he was cool people You feel me He never told me Like they beef with the hood Or nothing and shit And what's it called And then That was an intake That was an intake At Juvenile Hall And then they sent me To my unit And I was in my unit And then He had another homie That was in Juvenile Hall too But he was in a whole Different unit You feel me But I was in my unit And then he was outside Playing basketball because they bring out the units to play.
37:51And they were playing basketball, like, right behind our day room and shit. So you could see them through the window and shit, and you could talk to them and shit. So, like, what's it called? He knew, like, I was in the unit and shit. So that nigga started popping. And he was like, oh, nigga, fuck flowers, this and that. He was like, nigga, fuck your dad, homie, this and that. They called me FKD, man, this and that. Oh, jeez. Yeah, so. And I don't know if you know that little viral video where there's a little boy, he crashing the key and shit, and he's right there throwing gang signs. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
38:17Yeah, that was his nigga that was saying all that shit was his older brother that was popping it through the window and shit. But I was like, what the fuck? That's when I knew, I was like, what the fuck? These fools be pressing FK and shit. So since that day, I was just thinking, what the fuck? These fools over here be this in the hood and all this shit. Like, what the fuck? So is this something where you're going to take it to the music? You're going to write diss songs about each other or not? Shit, not really. Not, hell no. That's Lil' Kissy. That's Lil' Kissy. You feel me? That's something else.
38:43Nah, that's hip-hop. In hip-hop, we write songs about each other. Yeah, if you do it, if you do it, I'll throw it a little, you feel me? Okay. I ain't gonna lie, I did a song with Blanco, I did a song with Blanco, and Blanco was over here popping in the bottom. He did a song with the Playboy, Dissin Hood. Yeah, over here, you feel me? Right away, right after that situation. He did a music video with the food from Pino. It'll come up, watch. It'll happen. Yeah, you feel me? Next time you sit down and write a verse. We got one. We got some shit. Videos coming out. I got some shit. Oh, shit. I just started.
39:13I just started. We gonna do some shit. with Deuceface too, we gonna do some shit with Deuceface. That's how I do Deuceface. We got some shit with Pipe of the Bone later. G-Money, who else? Kremec on the verse too. But yo, with P-Face, let's keep it music, no bang outs. We don't need to be clapping at each other in public. Scuffle up, scuffle up. He didn't even wanna scuffle up. Scuffle up, bitch shit. Bring whoever, fuck out. I mean, he looked kinda stressed in that moment. He did, he panicked out. Scuffle up. I think that was why that clip went so viral. You been confident, right? right fk right supposedly keeping music he just get beat up real quick he just didn't want to get too bad that shit he didn't want to get knocked out you shouldn't have full beat i would have did a million bad but wait is way too serious that y 'all couldn't like meet up and have a fight nah okay look check it out i ain't gonna even know somebody want some food from my click oh i ain't gonna say that somebody call me whatever somebody come in they were trying to tell me like oh um what's it called you want to fight him you want to fight him that he could get that shit shit up this and that he's from my hood okay and i was like yeah do that like whatever you gotta do but he's locked up you feel me the fool that called me and i don't know who he is you feel me but he's just some food from my hood and and i was like yeah do that do that and then he never caught and they'll call me back or anything ever, you know?
40:39But he was trying to get me, he was trying to like have us meet up and shit and do the squad with us, you know? Okay. I was like, yeah, I was like, yeah. Cut him out right there. So it is a possibility. Cut him out. Cut a nigga, fuck, man, that nigga. No, he know what it is. Little light squad. Oh, you know what's crazy? Cut him out. He called me, he called me like the next morning. He called me FaceTime on Instagram. I was on the phone with that nigga for like 10 minutes. And he was just right there like talking and shit, thinking. Any common ground or we just talking to each other Just talking shit, just talking shit, like popping and thinking he was doing shit.
41:10Thinking, you know, he think I did bunk, but in reality, he did bunk. He did. Hmm. He would have been way worse if Active would fly with him. I'm telling you, we would have rushed him like bad. He would have dropped that shit and everything, and he was like. We would have took his gun. We would have did it worse. Yo, Active is crazy, bro. Active just got like a aura about him, man. I seen that blower. I was right there, right there. I told him bullshit. I told him to shoot that shit. You didn't care? you weren't worried about it? I don't give a fuck. I don't give a shit. He wasn't gonna do it.
41:40I don't give a fuck. I was ready to, you know? Dopey don't seem worried about anything. Nah, nah, come out. Because this guy, you know? He got hit before. I ain't gonna say, but my boy Dopey got smacked before. Got into some shit. That's why my nigga be a little paranoid, you feel me? Sure, you listen to Peso? Nah, I don't listen to him. Well, shit. Why not? He know what to rap, you know? You're something, yeah, all right. Do you look at him like a op? Yes. They ops, they hit. But it's just like, he f***ing. Nigga, I ain't gonna say to my nigga. That nigga just a pick hopper. Well, they said they have pictures of him back in the day throwing up your hood, right?
42:24He's a hood hopper, my bad. But do you know that he, did he used to hang out around your peoples and s*** back in the day? Or you don't know nothing about that? They only said a free flock of the gangland.
42:38I feel like you're saying some shit I don't understand up the score what They know My boy just got like that Two weeks ago A few more boys Alright so You were mentioning before Something about We mentioned the Norteños earlier Is that something that y 'all put any thought into? Or is that just like you just ignore whatever they got going on up there? I really ignore it. I don't know about them, but I ignore it because that shit. They not out here. They not you, feel me? Yeah. They not out here doing shit. We not out here going at war with them and shit. You feel me? But you think you ever going to tour and perform up north?
43:26Shit, I could. Shit, I could. And I feel like nothing going to hype you. Straight up. I would. Right. I was just interviewing like a little weirdo from San Diego and they were kind of like, he didn't want to talk about it too much, but it sounded like they had some difficulties when they went, I'm trying to tour up north. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Nah, yeah. Yeah. Shit. Nah, yeah, I did see all that little shit was going on when they went into Fresno and shit. Yeah. So, you know, it's definitely, it's complicated out there, I guess. It changed eventually. Yeah. Shit. In the pen that shit's different You know, beef with them and shit, huh?
44:06Like that In the pen, nah In the pen, everybody gotta stick together? Yeah, with that Does that make it feel kind of weird That you're like not allowed to have anything to do with them on the street? You probably can't talk to them Fuck with them, huh? But like, you could No, you keep respectful Yeah, respectful and shit Shit Hmm Definitely Alright So, okay, from your perspective where are you at in your music career and like what do you feel like you need to work on to take it to the next level and shit you're kind of just getting started people are really just starting to get turned on to you over the last couple months yeah barely yeah I gotta get um I feel like doing more songs with more artists and shit I'll probably get my name doing I could also do my solos you know I gotta do a lot of solos too and shit but we gotta meet Active and my boy Fly got a music video coming soon That shit should drop like next week And then me and my boy Dopey and shit We got another music video right there in the cut So it's getting work done You be rapping?
45:04Yeah I need some young Dopey on my playlist though Nah hell yeah Hey you gotta check out his He got that He got that Oh shit he's there Probably like 10 years ago Hey That's what we need We need that no shit Oh we need that no shit Oh okay here we go Dopey Grime Dope man You been rapping Alright Dope man Dope man Yeah, this nigga still be like. Yeah, I wanna do something like that. Let's do that. We should do like a little vlog type, you know?
45:39I need a verse though too, I think. Let's do it. Let's do it. Well, Nas Kings. I know you be doing rap shit. Pull up to Nas Kings. You guys do Nas? Hell yeah. Or it's just called that? You do Nas? Hell yeah. We do it. For fun. A lot of people are kinda low key about it. Everybody does it. Yeah But I need to stop that shit But I feel like a couple years ago Everybody put it on social media more And now people want to be a little more low-key Low-key about it Yeah Because it does look crazy You got a giant pink balloon in your hand Standing on the blog It just kind of Man, that's why we be low-key Writing around, you know Yeah I don't know if you ever heard of Nostkins and shit Shout out Nostkins Yeah, I mean, I see them like Doing like content online and shit But I wasn't So this is like a store Where they have nitros and shit Yeah, we just got Nah, nah We just got a little studio right there In the cut Shout out Nas Kings.
46:25Yeah, I'll pull up to Nas Kings, man. Did I really get there already? Look at this balloon head over here, right here. You realize it? The engineer's a balloon head, man. Hell, love. You're only 20, but I've seen him. I think he, but like, all right. You tried that shit, though? I don't do it no more. No more back then. But like him, like, I feel like he don't want to do it around me because he knows how I look at him when I see him. He knows I'm looking at him like he's burnt out. Low key. He wants to be like low key about it, but. Let's see. I remember back then like two years ago on Instagram, I'd be trying to post that shit and shit was like - Yeah, post a picture there.
47:00It's a little bit, it's a regular shit, you know? Just to have fun. I can't tell you how to live your life, but for sure that's one thing that if you get too into it, it's all bad. Yeah, you gon - This shit's bad for you. Yeah, crash out shit. Look at Lush, he be walking all weird and shit. Where he at? Lush ain't here today, but - Especially this - Oh, there's Blanco. There's Blanco. How'd you meet Blanco? Oh, through my boyfriend from Texas, yeah. Okay. Through some boyfriend. Yeah, he knew something. Yeah, yeah. Close on your mind. Okay. That's what's up. Right away, we locked in. They caught Blanco and told Blanco if I wanted to do it.
47:36If he wanted to do a song and shit. Oh, you guys got music out or you just recorded something? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We got a music video out. Oh, shit. We got a music video out together. We got another song right there in the hood, too. Mm. For the album. For sure. All right, yo. So, why so, Grammy, man? It was great getting to get familiar with your movement and everything. 48:10You're kind of like an old soul, too. You got a little bit... You feel like you have more life experience than you should for a 19-year-old. No, yeah, for sure. Yeah, yeah. I don't know. I went through... I already went through Shout out to Active too man I like Active Active got a good vibe about him man He seems like he'll do some crazy I'm glad he went to the store that day bro Active's just chillin' I feel like Active could get really activated You don't get a name like Active Without wilding out a few times man The way he said Attempted murder Assault with a deadly weapon or whatever.
