In short

A 15-minute “Come Clean” dating special where Ronnie Vint discusses his relationship with Harriet post–Love Island, dating rules, and reality-TV dating skepticism, plus a fast “first-date” game.

Guests

Ronnie Vint (Love Island season 11; returned on All Stars earlier this year).

Key claims

Ronnie says he and Harriet are “working through things” after coming out, mainly due to less time together from work; he’s generally skeptical of people (“everyone’s guilty until proven innocent”). He prefers dog lovers, good hygiene, and “attractive” partners; he’d choose spa dates and would date either in the public eye or outside it.

Notable examples

He says he “pulled” someone by talking in the wrong toilet at a club; he calls out “Instagram stalking” and checks tagged photos for “catfish” signs; he judges first-date behavior (e.g., socks and sandals is “wrong,” splitting the bill is “wrong,” and turning up 15 minutes late is “wrong”).

1:57Olivia Attwood:or at a store near you you and Harriet are working through things you know what coming out was like so good it's just like what are their intentions do you know what I mean and I know that ain't no nice way to think but I think you just gotta look out for yourself are you watching Love Island it's carnage isn't it I think I was made for that season would you go back in would you do a KC would you go for a third run? What did you think of me when Brad and I first started dating?

2:27Olivia Attwood:This special episode of So Wrong It's Right is brought to you in partnership with Surf. Surf's new magnificent wash is specially designed for short cycles, so it only takes 15 minutes to get your favourite outfit clean and smelling fabulous. None of us want to waste time doing the washing, especially before a date. We've got more important things to focus on. That's why Surf Magnificent Wash is essential for any impromptu night out. To celebrate this new age of dating we find ourselves in, I've invited some of my mates from the world of reality dating TV to sit down with me and come clean about dating in the fast lane.

3:03Olivia Attwood:We've got just 15 minutes while the washing is on with Surf Magnificent Wash. So let's get into Come Clean in 15 presented by Surf. My guest today is one of my best friends and I am buzzing to catch up with him. You know him from Love Island season 11, and he made his big return on All Stars earlier this year. I've known Ronnie for years before either of us went into the mad world of Love Island. So let's have a little catch-up about his dating life. It's Ronnie Vintz! Hi, Ron Dog. Thanks for coming back. Now, this is your third time here. Patrick. You're, I think, my only third-time guest. How do you feel?

3:43Pleasure.

3:44Olivia Attwood:And how do you feel to be here for this little 15-minute special with Surf? Yeah, looking forward to it. It's what questions you've got for me. What are your laundry skills like? Oh, it's terrible. Yeah, I imagine. I smell nice, though. Does mum help still? Yeah. Oh, so that's one of the things like living at home. Yeah, it's nice. Let's get into dating chat, OK? You and Harriet are working through things. Yeah, working through things. Obviously, we come out and it was so much better this time around and I just feel like we've worked and everything and come a bit away from each other a little bit, I'd say.

4:15Look. So, yeah, I think that's the way we're at in a minute.

4:18Olivia Attwood:I had other issues with my Love Island partner, but dating in a post-Love Island world is really difficult. Like, you are, like, learning how to navigate this world together. Do you know what? Coming out, we was, like, so good. And then I just feel like with work and things coming up, it's just we ain't seen each other, ain't spent as much time, and it's just caused a few problems. But, yeah, that's the way we're at in a minute, just trying to work through it. but yeah, that's all I've got to say on it really. So in a hypothetical world, taking your current dating situation out of it, what are your three non-negotiables in a partner?

4:51Olivia Attwood:Because like, for me, it's like, I couldn't date someone that doesn't love animals. Like, do you know what I mean? Like, if you don't like dogs, what's wrong with you? Yeah, that's true. Yeah, so you've got to have, you've got to like pets, but I don't like cats, so. No one likes cats. Yeah, so dog lover, good hygiene and. They've got to be attractive. Yeah, you've got to be good looking, you know. That's a non-negotiable, isn't it? That's a non-negotiable. So, yeah, my three. What's your perfect date? My perfect date? Like, with... It could be a first date or with a girlfriend. Like, what is it?

5:21Olivia Attwood:If you have an evening you could spend with your partner, what would be your favourite thing to do? Do you know how I like it? I mean, like, spa dates. Oh, so's about you. Love Island's changed you. I know. Who do you... I've never really been, like, a restaurant guy, and a drinking guy. No? Only, like, with yous, because yous are crazy, but... As in me and Brad? Yeah, an actual date. I think a nice little spa break. Yeah? Something chilled. Yeah, that's a good one. But I won't get in the water because of my hair. Do you actually not? What about to the shoulders? What? What about to the shoulders?

5:50Olivia Attwood:Oh, yeah, to the shoulders, yeah. How does the hair stand up to sauna and steam room? Got a lot of hair lacquer in it. So you could do a sauna? Yeah, sauna's fine. Steam room, no. Just no underwater swimming? No. Would you, in the future, okay, let's take Harriet out of this, would you prefer to date someone in the public eye again or would you go and date someone who's not like in a reality TV world? I don't know. I think both have like good and bad sides, I say. Like, I think in the eye, like you're both on that same level. And then without that, like just someone half, I don't know, without sounding big-headed normal, it's just like, what are their real interests with you?

6:28Olivia Attwood:What, do you feel like now someone might have like false intentions? Yeah, I think so. Like when obviously back in the time, like you did speak to someone here and there, it was just like, what are their intentions? know what I mean like where do they want to go with this do they just want that I don't know five minutes I'm not sure do you feel like you're a little bit more skeptical of people since having been on the show yeah definitely 100 % and I know that ain't a nice way to think but I think you just got to look out for yourself and you know definitely it wasn't a change for me because I've always been super skeptical of everyone and to me everyone's guilty until proven innocent so there was no massive change for me after the show do you think you are good at choosing partners I think I've been good.

7:10I haven't really been with anyone, though. Like, you've known me for years. How many people have you seen me date?

7:15Olivia Attwood:Not well. I've seen you, like, date people, like, quite, like... But fully been with, what, one or two? Yeah, one that I met more than once. Yeah. Other than that, no. So is that good choosing? I don't know. But I've always liked being on my own. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? You were a bit of a commitment, though, but I guess that was what was the biggest U-turn, but seeing you with Harriet post All-Stars is, like, I've never seen you want to show that kind of commitment to anyone before. Are you watching Love Island? Yeah, it's carnage, isn't it? I think I was made for that season. I'm really far behind because I'm just old and overworked, so I keep falling asleep halfway through.

7:50Olivia Attwood:This is nothing to do with the production value. It's to do with the fact that I cane like four melatonins at bedtime, but then Brad will tell me in the morning what I've missed. Who are you liking? He loves it, doesn't he? Loves it. When I stayed up last week, he was like... I think he's dating me because he's a fan. Yeah, 100%. What do you think of this season? From what I've heard, it's feisty. Yeah, it's a bit annoying. I've missed the last three episodes, but I like Harry. Yeah. Yeah, I think we'd get on. Other than that, I ain't really a massive fan of the rest of the boys. Everyone's loving that Tommy and that.

8:18Like you're on a dating show.

8:20Olivia Attwood:It's a bit emotional. Yeah, just go and date. Just go and see what they're about. Obviously, I get it's different when you're in there. Like two hours feels like two weeks, which I do get outside. But I just think I was made for this season. In what sense? Just they're all carnage. Like you like the fact that they're like crazy. Yeah, they're all just dating each other. Like that's what it's about, I think at the minute. Going for it. Do you know what I mean? Go for it until what, week three, week four, and then you're going to find out if you like someone. In hypothetical again, heavy on the hyper, would you go back in?

8:52Olivia Attwood:Would you do a Casey? Would you go for a third run? Do the third time. Would you go for the hat trick? You've done the hat trick on the pod. Would you do it in the villa? I would do it a third time, yeah. It is fun. I loved it. This is a bit of a pivot now, but I wanted to know, well, actually, some of our listeners also wanted to know, what did you think of me when Brad and I first started dating? When the first conversation I had with you, do you remember? No. Well, no, it wasn't one of the first, but the proper one when you obviously finished with Brad and you said you was going to do the Love Island, remember?

9:23Olivia Attwood:Was that our first proper conversation? No, it was, like, one of the first. Okay. Yeah, he was like, I'm just going to go. And I remember saying to Brad, I turned around, David Lloyd, and he was like, what did you say? I was like, I think she's going to love Island, mate. And then he drove to yours, remember? Yeah. And then obviously it was more at the time when you first come out, that's how close we got. Yeah, that's true. Because I was going to meet you, wasn't I, really? When Brad was sending me to keep an eye on you. Wait, when? Remember, we used to have like parties now. You'd be like, Ron, you're coming.

9:52Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then Brad would be at football.

9:54Olivia Attwood:Brad and I got back together and he was like taking notes. Yeah, and he was pulling blinds down in Essex. Oh my, yeah, yeah. Yeah, just the house parties, just being mental. But I think we just always go on because we're very similar. Do you know what I mean? And then we've got Brad just looking after both of us. Just getting pure aggy. Just like grumpy little Lord Farquaad over in the corner. Just getting angry at us. What's the most random way you've ever met someone? Like DM slide, like toilet at the club, like in the queue? A few years ago, I was in, weird, I was in a girl's toilet because the boy's toilet was busy.

10:33Olivia Attwood:I don't know if we can... No, I just went into the cubicle and left. But as I come out, the girl was doing her makeup and she was really good looking. And we just started talking in the toilet for about 10 minutes. Girls were coming in and up and then I got a number and left. So you actually pulled by being in the wrong toilet. I wouldn't recommend it. And it's a heavy caution to anyone listening to take that as a tip. but that's quite good. This episode is brought to you by ADT. One second, you're enjoying your day off. 12:28Olivia Attwood:so the wash is on with surf magnify scent you've got 15 minutes to get ready for an impromptu date what do you do in the 15 minutes it takes me 10 minutes to do my hair ok so 10 on the barnet and then talk us through so you get the fibres out so yeah I'll bang you in the hair cream cream and then yeah so like hair gel ok yeah wax yeah put that in and then takes about 8 minutes to do the line if it looks rubbish I've just got to redo it. So how do you, if you need to redo it, do you have to put your head on tap? Yeah, I've got to wash my hair and I don't get so long. How often do you have to redo it?

13:01Usually I'm quite good at it now, but there was like a few times in the villa I'd say, like, oh, it would take me ages. Because it's well hot in there.

13:07Olivia Attwood:And you're getting aggy? Yeah, aggy. And then I'd have to like, just go and do it, go and do it again. A producer would be like, come on, you've got to do it. I'm like, nah, I'm not going out of a night tick. A night tick. So 10 minutes on the hair, what's the next five minutes containing? Just getting ready. Make sure you look good. What sort of thing are you wearing on a first date? First date? Maybe a nice pair of trousers, t-shirt. Mm-hmm. Saint Cash, but smart. I love it. Right. Now we've got a very special dating theme. Boxer roll, thanks to the show's sponsor, Surf's Magnificent Wash. Are you ready to play?

13:38Olivia Attwood:Yes, I go. You know this game because you've been here three times. I know. Don't I get a present for being here three times? I don't know. You can have a bottle of Surf if you like. Yeah, I'll take it at home. Yeah, go on then. Thanks. We've got enough. around okay so right wrong or so wrong it's right calling each other pet names on the first date pet names yeah or like what like baby like on the it's what you do if a girl called you like honey pie on the first date yeah no no see you later wrong wrong turning oh you you would do this so i know what you're gonna say turning up to a first date in socks and sandals i don't I wear socks and sandals.

14:18Olivia Attwood:I hate that. Wait, so what do you wear? Sandals on their own? Yeah. He turned up at mine the other night to go to Delilah in... I looked really smart. I had a little set on and a pair of flip-flops. It was 30 degrees. He had sliders on to go to... Not Delilah. To go... Daphne's. To Daphne's. And she told me off. White tablecloth Italian with silver service in sliders. I had to wear Brad's jeans and a white tee. Imagine what I looked like. He had to wear Brad's jeans that were too much short for him and Brad's trainers that were a whole size too small. Splitting the bill on the first date. Wrong.

14:51Olivia Attwood:Agreed. I thought we were in agreement. Going on holiday within a couple of months of knowing each other. I think that's a good sign, though. I think so. Technically, I guess you and Harriet did. Yeah. Was your holiday to Dubai, was that your first couple holiday? So the first time we'd come out, we'd done a brand trip to Italy, which weren't really a holiday, but a proper holiday, yeah, was Dubai. Because have you been away with other girlfriends? I don't think you not like that first time yeah what was the experience like for you of like going away with a girlfriend I really enjoyed it it was nice and obviously out there it was different yeah like it was just me and her we had like a nice time but then we still like she was still working I was still working so it was like the night times were nice like what we'd done but it was more of a chilled like it was hectic after All Stars it was just more of a just chilled out one but it was nice I enjoyed it I feel like you get to know each other on like a very deeper level when you go on a holiday like that.

15:50Olivia Attwood:Turning up 15 minutes late to a date. Wrong. Wrong, rude. For a girl, for a boy, no I think the boy should be there first. Yeah. But if a girl's a little bit late then I do get it because it takes them forever but 15 minutes would be fine. Anything longer I think is a bit long. What takes them forever? Just girls, you know? Not laundry, with surf no surf you'll be there 10 minutes early yeah I'll be there yesterday yes I agree I think the man should be there first and then the girl should be the girl shouldn't be sitting there waiting for us I'm not waiting for any man no Instagram stalking before you meet yeah do you know like on Instagram the third thing along on your page if they ain't got photos I don't think you're real hold on come again so do you know like your tagged photos on Insta yeah if it's clear I think you're fake so if you don't have any tagged photos what do you mean fake because they're the photos that you don't look good in do you so sorry not like you think they're a fake person but you think that their photos are not oh that's a very interesting hack I look at that sometimes so I've not actually heard anyone mention that so you check the tag photos to see if they're a catfish yeah and if it is see it interesting someone just said yeah really quietly that's interesting i like it activity based dates like bowling or crazy golf oh i love golf i know you're a golf fan yeah no i don't know that's ever going to happen like what i will say to you and i'll say this to brad i like like golf club culture but when i say golf probably like glen eagles like i like the clothing i like um the the kind of feeling of being around wealth um i love the grass do you ever go on a buggy of you i have i have hated it just like it's just slow isn't it like once you've seen one shot you've seen them all yeah true but i think i don't i quite like it as a hobby for him like look it could be worse he could have a hobby for like i I don't know, bungee jumping or something.

17:59Olivia Attwood:Do you know what I mean? Champalino. So, yeah, golf is a good hobby, I think, for a husband. Yeah, I know. We played last week loads, didn't we? Yeah. Wow. Did he tell you that? Yeah, he did, actually. I watched the cameras, so I saw him taking them fucking golf clubs out every day. Fucking prick.

18:18Olivia Attwood:Well, guys, this is it. The wash is done, and it's our 15 minutes. Lovely. Ronnie, thank you for coming back to the pod a third time.
