1:46Olivia Attwood:Yeah. The financial heat. Is this the teat as in like nipple? Yeah. At the next concert people go, oh, it's so wholesome. I'm like, hey, she's a f***ing matcha. I hope she chokes on that matcha. No.
1:58Hallie Batchelder:I mean, you know you've made it if you have like a dedicated thread. So until that day comes, I need to work harder. You're giving these people something to talk about.
2:13Olivia Attwood:Hi, everyone. Welcome back to Olivia's house. We're back in NYC. and I thought what better than to hang out with a proper New York City gal guys it's Hallie Batchel there thanks for having me thanks for coming to the house I'm so excited to meet you oh my god I love you same same that's why I invited you on my pod people invite me and they go this girl is the American version of you that's why I first came aware of you on TikTok people would send me on TikTok this girl has very similar energy to you yeah people do the same with me
2:50Hallie Batchelder:that's crazy and they also look alike which I'm like okay period I'll take it sister
2:55Olivia Attwood:you are funny fearless and full of stories and you kind of broke onto the internet onto the scene by storytelling on your social media yeah was that an intentional journey you started were you just doing it for fun it was really
3:09Hallie Batchelder:like I wasn't I didn't have a job like out of college so I graduated college 2019 and then COVID hit, which kind of gave me a little leeway. I was a classics major, so I didn't really want to do anything with that. So I kind of was just hostessing on Nantucket, which is where like I summer. So I didn't really know what I wanted to do. So I was like, you know what? Like I have nothing else to do. Let me just like start posting on TikTok like it's close friends because I feel like there wasn't a lot of that at the time. Everyone was just doing like thirst traps. So I was like, let me tell stories.
3:41Hallie Batchelder:Like everyone that's watching me or following me is, you know, like a friend of mine, like a close friend, like to have inside jokes. And like, I feel like through that, I built kind of like a bit of a following and a community. And it's been just fun. And from that, I just took off into where I am now. What did you enjoy college? I loved college. I could have gone without it, though. I just thought I wanted to party in college. I was really bad at school. ADHD, like anxiety. I didn't want to go to class. so I wasn't really the best student but I was really good at like you know going out in college so you were good at the recreational side yes I was
4:20Olivia Attwood:the studying bit was like I could do about that
4:22Hallie Batchelder:yeah exactly when I invite
4:25Olivia Attwood:people up to Olivia's house we have a little leave at the door policy so before we get into deeper chat is there anything you'd like to leave at the door Hallie
4:36Hallie Batchelder:let me think there could be so many answers there. There's so many things they should leave at the door. Like we were just talking about this before we started. I think I want to leave saying yes to everything at the door. Like I say yes to, I get FOMO, like crippling FOMO. Oh, do you? You know FOMO? Yeah, fear of missing out. Yeah, so like if someone has like even like a little, like I won't miss like an opening to an envelope. It's an issue. I want to be at everything or else I get anxiety. Like I need to go. So I need, I want to leave that. the door.
5:08Olivia Attwood:Okay, saying yes to everything. Yes. So I really don't get FOMO at all. Why? I don't know. What's that like? I always think, I'm like, well, I'm not there, so it can't be that fun. That's honestly a good outlook.
5:20Hallie Batchelder:I'm going to take that with me.
5:21Olivia Attwood:You're like, I just feel sorry for them. They're definitely having a horrible time. You are an ultimate NYC girl. You weren't born in New York, were you? No, I was born in Boston. Boston. And how long have you lived in the city?
5:35Hallie Batchelder:five years I moved here right when like you know 2020 ish yeah and do you love this city do you feel a New Yorker now I love it I just like I don't imagine myself living in any other city Boston is beautiful and it's small and cleaner but it just like wasn't for me like career-wise like what I'm doing now I don't think I could see myself doing that in Boston and just like you don't really even have to like leave the city to experience something new every day here which which is something I love about, like, there's always a new restaurant. There's always somewhere new to go out. There's always a new members club.
6:09Hallie Batchelder:There's always, like, something going on. And, like, that's, like, my favorite thing to do is just connecting with new people and living life. Living life.
6:18Olivia Attwood:Like me, you love a night out. Yeah. Talk me through, set the scene of a perfect night out in New York with you.
6:26Hallie Batchelder:Friday night, my gay bestie Graydon visiting from Boston. He's with me, too, to set the scene. we are in the kitchen doing tiktoks getting lit exactly getting ready together out we're getting martini shaker out we're filming lots of tiktoks we're laughing we're giggling and then we'd go probably to like a nice restaurant for dinner nothing too heavy like light bites i don't like to be super full when i go out no but like maybe like a nice italian spot and then i would probably They go to like a membership club, which is like a big thing here. Well, it's a big thing. It's what I do when I go out because it's just, it's a big thing to me, I guess.
7:08Olivia Attwood:You're in one point now, babe. Yeah.
7:09Hallie Batchelder:And then like going there and then having like four martinis, getting slightly cross-eyed. Yeah. And then just going to like a fun after party. Yeah. I love good afters.
7:22Olivia Attwood:What members clubs in New York are the cool ones? um svb the ned shay margot and um zero bond is an og one of my favorites and i feel like it's like i'm starting to go there a lot again it's a good one what other cities do you love to party in you you just told me before we started not been to london no you're gonna have to go to london and
7:45Hallie Batchelder:we'll have to go out because that will be wild we should do that i would love to i also hear london's like the best time ever in like hot men yeah respectful men all the there are some respectful
7:58Olivia Attwood:ones I didn't meet loads of them when I was single I think I met the disrespectful ones yeah but then I actually I am a bit of a sucker for an asshole like I don't like them to be too polite
8:09Hallie Batchelder:yeah I don't like that's one of my icks it's like too nice but that's a thing of me problem that I
8:13Olivia Attwood:need to with they're too nice to just ick you out yeah but like I think my frontal lobe isn't fully
8:19Hallie Batchelder:developed. I think I'm very toxic in a lot of ways. Like I shouldn't be in a relationship right now at all.
8:26Olivia Attwood:You talk on your podcast about dad's credit card. Yeah. The financial teat. The financial teat. Yeah. Is this teat as in like nipple?
8:36Hallie Batchelder:Yeah. But like I'm not putting that and my dad in the same sentence. I'm just imagining like a small cat.
8:45Olivia Attwood:Like a cow, like a cow teat. what's the setup are you still on the on the on the black card you know i'm not gonna lie the
8:54Hallie Batchelder:more i've talked about the teat online unless you liked it and he's weaned me off the teat he's
9:00Olivia Attwood:and you must be earning cash now too he's probably looking at you thinking girl you don't need the
9:04Hallie Batchelder:credit card my biggest my biggest mistake was telling him i was successful at anything because now he just is pissed he's like all right well you don't have that back he's like why am i still paying for some of your rent and I was just like that's I don't know I haven't got an answer for you what do you want from me yeah but no I'm like off all those credit cards you seem through
9:27Olivia Attwood:socials to have such a good relationship with your dad and you like have so much fun with him can you actually like hang out with him like a mate yeah it's one of my favorite things to do
9:36Hallie Batchelder:and I'm like so like blessed and lucky I feel like I have that relationship with my parents when I'm in Nantucket, an ideal night out there wouldn't even be like going out, going out to the bars. It'd be like going out with them, going to a nice dinner. And then just like, they like to get fucked up too. It's like the best night ever. And they pay for dinner. So it was perfect. It's great. But they're really fun to go out with. They're both amazing.
10:01Olivia Attwood:It's like a dream situation. They seem like a lot of fun. Yeah.

10:05Hallie Batchelder:All my siblings too are a good time.
10:07Olivia Attwood:Yeah. I seen your brother talk about you in a podcast recently. It was really sweet. the way he spoke about you. That's nice. I've got a good relationship with my brother. Do you have sisters? I have one sister. You have one sister. Did you have a fight?
10:19Hallie Batchelder:Yes, we're 15 months apart. So me and my sister. No, yeah. And she's an introvert. I'm like an extrovert. She's a sober Pilates instructor. Neither of those things. But now I feel like as we've gotten older, we appreciate each other for differences.
10:36Olivia Attwood:This is literally the exact same story. It's the same. If I spent too much time with her, I annoy her because I'm the same are you the younger? I'm older but if you was watching us interact you'd always think she's the old one yeah she works in finance she's been with her husband since she was 15 okay so she's like different paths she's fun but different paths very different paths
10:57Hallie Batchelder:that was like me and my brother he has chased me around with a bad couple times just sibling bonding
11:04Olivia Attwood:what was you when you started becoming viral online and the stuff you were saying did you ever get any backlash from your dad or your brothers where they've been like, okay, can you not tell that story on your TikTok?
11:13Hallie Batchelder:You know, like people just assume that. A lot of being like, oh my God, I wonder if like her dad or parents see this stuff. But no, my dad just like, they've been all so supportive and just like they kind of understand like what I'm doing. Yeah. And like how telling stories and like it's kind of like a business at the end of the day. Like it's on a podcast and it's like how I'm getting viewership and stuff like that. So they're very understanding of it. and that's good you know they get they get who i am yeah known for a while even before
11:44Olivia Attwood:it wasn't a secret yeah my my mom and dad are the same i'm i have to be a little bit more careful now because some of my telly stuff in the uk they don't like it when i'm talking about some things in graphic detail which is a bit boring but if i do talk about things or i'm like i'm so fucking hungover my mom will dm me and be like for fuck's sake or she'll dm me say there's something wrong with you.
12:07Hallie Batchelder:I'm like, yes. Yes. My parents aren't as like, my dad doesn't tune in to every week's episode, but I do remember the launch of my podcast, which is like, it has to be like a big shebang. So I was telling like the craziest stories, trying to get people to listen. And my grandma wanted to be so supportive of me. And I'm like talking like threesomes, benders, like the whole nine on this first episode of my show. And my grandma tried to watch it on her iPad and she didn't know how to turn it off because she's like 85 and she had to throw it out the window and I think I'm out of the will I'm not even kidding she does not fuck with me anymore at all love you grandma the inheritance and the iPad out the window she was like you're disgusting and you're a vile human being but I was like but you don't get it mama
12:56Olivia Attwood:like you don't get it you're not you're not in the community you don't get it you're not my target audience like you're you're like you're yeah your audience and your audience grew and is growing so rapidly what has that experience been like for you because like you say you didn't set out to be a content creator it just kind of happened like organically yeah and I feel like you know
13:17Hallie Batchelder:through like storytelling and like talking about not just like party stuff and online stuff like that but I also talk about you know things that have a little bit more depth like my personal struggles like eating stuff anxiety and like I kind of feel like I paint this like 360 well-rounded picture of myself where people get to see like different parts of my life um and I think through that like anyone that watches me and follows me can connect to some sort of element of me and I feel like that's kind of how I have created such like a loyal like the people that follow me are so like loyal and amazing and but yeah I love it and do you how do you deal with like the negative
13:54Olivia Attwood:sides do you struggle with it or are you you just don't engage I kind of like out of sight out of
14:01Hallie Batchelder:mind also the people that troll me were never fans of me to begin with and like are so dedicated to like people just like misery loves company sometimes but also I I know what I say is kind of polarizing sometimes I don't expect everyone to like me but I don't really think I want everyone to like me either. So I'm going to have opinions, you know, stick to them. And if you don't like me, you don't have to listen to me is kind of how I look at it.
14:29Olivia Attwood:I feel like to be like, and I would say what you do is like you are an entertainment. You have to be like polarizing to a degree. Otherwise, it's just going to be like lukewarm in the middle and no one's going to give a shit. And also it's like you have to kind of, you have to own your truth. And also, I think the internet's gone a bit mad because I kind of feel like you can have your truth in your opinion, like you're not telling anyone else what to do. Like, do you know what I mean? Like you want to do something, they don't want to do it. Like let them get on with their life.
14:58Hallie Batchelder:No, like I just talk about like my own life, my own experiences. I'm not, I'm not a how-to guy. I never claim to be like an idol or anything like, or, you know, anything. But honestly, if anything, I preach like what not to do sometimes in certain situations. Like don't, like learn from me, like don't do this. And I'll even say that on my show. I'm like, This is where I went wrong. But I think admitting your flaws, there's like power in that. Yeah. But just like being honest. Like there's not a lot of like honest transparency online. I feel like people need that.
15:29Olivia Attwood:There's not. And I think that being like a flawed human being and like you said, you are really honest and you can like be like, oh, that was a mistake or I shouldn't have done that. That's quite rare, especially online. Because I feel like you say, so many people have like a filtered bullshit version of themselves. Boring to me. Like so boring. It's boring to look at. It's boring to watch. and I some people do like the most aesthetic feed who like are like you know going to pumpkin patches and I don't know and like making matcha are some of the worst fucking human beings I know and they probably look at the next content and people go oh she's so wholesome and I'm like no she's a f***ing matcha no usually that's how it goes I hope she chokes on that matcha no the matcha
16:10Hallie Batchelder:I'm obsessed with you no but yeah but you know I just feel like if that's content I don't want to consume is like a girl like being aesthetic and stuff
16:19Olivia Attwood:and drinking matcha like now I'm saying matcha well how would you say it what's going on that we say matcha in London really English people yeah we say matcha is it matcha no I think it's
16:33Hallie Batchelder:just us I kind of like matcha I'm gonna go with that but I don't make video but like i don't make videos of like clocking them for drinking their matcha like but they love to make videos clocking me for my own non-drinking matcha behavior
16:52Olivia Attwood:so yeah why can we all just like coexist you know this is always my thing and also we men don't do this to each other this is the problem men are not like on instant ripping each other especially if someone gets following growth they just kind of observe they don't like it they move on they don't go oh why are you following this person this is the reason you shouldn't be for like that we're such we are all like guilty of it i've just been a fucking bitch right there but it's like we are so guilty of being each other's haters and it's like like you say if you don't like it
17:22Hallie Batchelder:just scroll on i yeah or like keep it in the group chat like i don't like hate on anyone publicly even if i fucking hate their guts literally you're never gonna catch me like dragging another girl online because that's just that says more about their character or someone's character than it
17:36Olivia Attwood:does about anything else i was telling my team one of my like sickest pleasures in life is when a girl it's always girl dms her friend something bitchy about me but sends it to me have you ever had me all the time and i reply all the time so do i i'm like hey babe so like like do you look at her face she's it looks weird she's done something what do you think like or something like i go oh i was like i don't know maybe a new moisturizer and she's like sometimes i'll just delete it or they might be like fuck I'm so sorry like it goes either way but I find it really
18:07Hallie Batchelder:yeah I don't even know how that accidentally happens you have to be so like illiterate using an iPhone to be able to be doing that it's like really embarrassing for them but I always say it's like the girl on girl crime rate just like it's become like social media
18:22Olivia Attwood:has become reddit do you know reddit yeah is that like reddit we have reddit it's like tattle life is it like a forum blog where people just write mean things if if reddit was called tattle live tattle live i think i would be able to like digest it you're the second person that's spoken to me about reddit and um teffy said she has a whole thing of people just being mean about
18:44Hallie Batchelder:her on reddit i mean you know you've made it if you have like a dedicated thread so until that day comes i need to work harder but that's literally literally you're giving these people something to talk about so I kind of look at it like that but yeah if you're not being talked about on there you're doing something incorrectly I think or you're bland as hell yeah you're not doing enough
19:04Olivia Attwood:you're so fucking boring you haven't they come in but they have nothing to like have a conversation about they but the good sides of the internet the community you've grown does it feel like when you meet the girls and they come up to you and they're like we love you like does it feel like quite
19:19Hallie Batchelder:it's surreal it's just like i have imposter syndrome i i like don't even when i go out i'm like oh my god i can't believe like these people follow me and i think that's like been my like most favorite part about doing social media and it outweighs anything negative is doing like the
19:35Olivia Attwood:in-person stuff and meeting people that actually support me yeah and i would take a million
19:41Hallie Batchelder:negative comments over just like one of those like positive interactions because it's like the best part of the job.
19:48Olivia Attwood:But also the positive is always outweighing the negative. The negative is just loud. I think, yeah, I think negative people are just louder. Yeah, like, but the positive is always there. And you know, you know, people have so much love for you. How did the podcast come about? Because you're under Unwell Network, which is Alex Cooper of Call Her Daddy's Network. How did you meet Alex? And how did the podcast come to life?
20:09Hallie Batchelder:So I think it was like 2023-ish. And I I think like she discovered me on TikTok or something or maybe someone sent her. Like I was doing story times, a lot of like unfiltered story times. And I think she just organically found me through there. And then we set up a call. And from there, it's been amazing. Like she was like, do you want to show? Do you want to do like long form content? Like I think you'd be amazing at it. And I was like, I'm down. Like I'd never really thought about having a podcast. And she's been so amazing and supportive. and like she's like the smartest person in this industry in my opinion.
20:47Hallie Batchelder:So it's been amazing working with them unwell.
20:51Olivia Attwood:I'm a big fan of Alex. I was on her podcast many years ago. Oh, really? Yeah. I knew that. And she's a great interviewer. And she's so, like you said, she's so fucking smart. She's so smart. What she's achieved is insane. Yeah. What's it like being under the unwell umbrella? What are those parties, events like? Are they as fun as they look?
21:08Hallie Batchelder:I give them so much credit. I swear like she never sleeps because she's always, it's always something else. It's something better and bigger. And the in-person activations, which is kind of what I was saying, like meeting these people that follow you in real life and just like doing face-to-face stuff, like she cares a lot about too. Yeah. And I think it's so important to like connect with your fan base and whatnot and just to continue to like grow and stuff in general. I love those events. I don't think I've missed a single Unwell event. Like whenever I get the email that like there's something coming up, I'm like I'm clearing my schedule.
21:41Hallie Batchelder:I will be there.
21:43Olivia Attwood:You were recently in Vegas. How was that?
21:45Hallie Batchelder:It was amazing. It was fun. I mean, I think that was one of their biggest events yet. It's crazy. I was like, so many moving parts. I was like, how does this even work? It's mental.
21:54Olivia Attwood:I was in Vegas the week before, and I was working. Boring. But there's literally the posters of her unwell party were everywhere. Like, on every right turn, there was a poster. I was like, she's about to, like, shut this whole city down. It's, like, fucking really impressive.
22:10Hallie Batchelder:Yeah, they're really fun. and every single person that comes, I feel like we're saying hi to every single one of them. Yeah. And they're really fun. You get to get, like, drunk with, like, the people you work with, too. It's like a work event, too, at the same time.
22:23Olivia Attwood:Are you an extrovert extrovert or are you, like, an introverted extrovert, which is what I am? That's what I am, too. So do you like to, like, party and be sent to attention but then you need to be alone a little bit? Because I have to, like, after a day, like, talking to people, no offense, guys, all day, like, I will, like, go mute now for, like, ten, You know, like I need to be alone and just kind of, I get knackered. Do you say that? Knackered? Knackered? Yeah, it means tired. I get knackered like from being, you know, being with people. Yeah. But I want to be with people. It kind of drains your battery a little bit.
22:58Hallie Batchelder:I mean, I live alone. So like my whole day is just silence and bliss. I don't walk around much. I don't really engage that many people during the day unless it's work related. But I also do randomly get spurts like social anxiety. If I go to, I pick up on energy a lot. If I go out and the vibe is like completely off, I will like soak it in like a sponge and be like, I have to get the fuck out of here.
23:22Olivia Attwood:That's interesting because I think if anyone was following you, they would never assume that you would ever be socially awkward or anxious.
23:29Hallie Batchelder:No, I get anxious for a lot of things. Yeah. For stuff like this, I'll get anxious for it, although I was really excited to speak with you. But like anything that's like requires me to like memorize, like I recently just did this brand deal where I had to like memorize lines and I was like shaking all my words and I was just like so nervous.
23:45Olivia Attwood:I can't imagine you like that. Yeah.
23:47Hallie Batchelder:But it's a skill. It's just like a skill I'm working on still.
23:51Olivia Attwood:And also, yeah, but you'll like give yourself a chance as well because you haven't been doing this that long. And it will become public speaking. Yeah, but it will become like my muscle memory. Yeah. But I've been like doing this since 2017 and I literally sometimes when I'm going to go on a podcast and someone's going to interview me when I sat down in the chair I have this feeling like I'm going to forget who I am and what I like and they're going to ask me a question and my mind's just going to go fucking blank and I'm going to go I don't know I don't know anything I don't know anything about me that always happens to me on a red carpet they'll say like you know who are you excited to see tonight and I'm like I can't name one fucking person and then as I walk away I'm like blah blah blah it's just like in the moment your brain just goes nah you're not having the information right now you can have it in a minute Spring is here
24:35Hallie Batchelder:and there's a whole new way to chai at Starbucks that's made perfect for you. Choose your sweetness, dial it up, or keep things light. Add a touch of pistachio, a hint of strawberry, or vanilla, or make it a spring classic with lavender. Because this season, there's endless ways to chai at Starbucks. You should just say that.
24:58Olivia Attwood:Yeah. Well, I'm going to say this, I'll go, mind your fucking business.
25:02Hallie Batchelder:Mind your fucking business and keep going. when did you know you were funny um when i was an ugly kid i had to be funny i was super like because i was gonna say did karate pretty and funny is a heavy crown to wear
25:21Olivia Attwood:which i fear we both carry well i put in work for this shit though i was like tell me you're a chubby
25:26Hallie Batchelder:I was a chubby kid that did karate and I had a really short haircut and I was overweight. So like the only way to make friends was cracking jokes. So I feel like that was kind of, and I'm like a middle child. So I feel like I kind of got my humor from my dad a little bit too. So I kind of like lucked out on that end. But I don't know. I feel like I love to find the humor in things. It's never that deep. No. I keep things light. Yeah. I feel like being funny is like my favorite part about me. I like to think I'm funny though.
26:00Olivia Attwood:You are funny. Yeah. And I think I'm funny sometimes. But I like making people laugh. And like my love language is laughter. And like I, we have that, like, I think New Yorkers get the London sarcasm, very dark sense of humor. Like if I was on my deathbed, like my gay best friend would like come up and like whisper in my way and be like, you look like shit. You look like fucking shit right now. Like that is like, oh, do you know what I mean? Yeah. That's our way of communicating with each other that feels like home, you know? Was your relationship with your food and weight, was that from when you were a child then?
26:35Hallie Batchelder:Yeah. I think it like stemmed from all the things I've mentioned, like just being like kind of like the overweight, awkward one. And also like I had a little bit of OCD and really bad anxiety, like biting my nails and just I was an anxious person. And I feel like through eating stuff, I kind of coped with, it was almost like a release for me in a control mechanism almost. Like if I have no control over like this aspect of my life or this aspect, I can control like what I put in my body. Yeah. So it became like a hyper fixation almost.
27:07Olivia Attwood:Do you find, how do you deal with comments around your weight? Because I have to say it's something that I've dealt with also. and I feel like societally we're people I mean people do get fat shame but I think people are so much quicker to be telling people they're too thin like it's a piece of work more socially acceptable but it's just as hurtful and fucking rude you know
27:29Hallie Batchelder:it's it is rude I don't think anyone should be commenting on anyone's bodies but also like when people call me like super super thin there's also still that like fucked up part of my brain that thinks it's a compliment okay If that makes any sense. But the fact that they're trying to use, you know, I've been open about it online. Yeah. And now people think it's like an Achilles heel of mine. So they'll be like, oh, this will like knock her off, you know.
27:54Olivia Attwood:It's so fucked up. And you've shared something that's like very personal. And then they try and weaponize it. My worst thing is like, you know, when people, women do this like feign concern, fake concern for you. So like they'll write under one of my pictures like really worried about her. She just looks terribly thin. It's not a good look. So you're looking at my picture and you think I might be going through something. I could be ill. And your way of showing your concern is to publicly write a mean comment. Thank you for your concern. I feel so much better now.
28:28Hallie Batchelder:It's always like a mom of three too.
28:30Olivia Attwood:And I'm like, would you want someone to chat to your daughter like this?
28:34Hallie Batchelder:Like it's just so negative. and also suddenly everyone becomes a doctor and is diagnosing you and stuff. But, you know, I kind of just ignore those things. And I also block out certain words.
28:46Olivia Attwood:Yeah, that's a good thing to do. I think mine like this bitch. Do you reply to comments when people talk to you? So, sometimes. It's a mixed bag. I used to do a lot of clapping back. Same. I do less now just because I think that I'm actually less bothered if I'm honest like sometimes with fun I might and I'll just do it like fuck you like I'll just something just short it depends what mood I'm in but now to be fair yeah I I just it doesn't really bother me I'm just a bit like you're in my comments you're helping my engagement do your fucking thing like I really it doesn't get under my skin the way it used to when I first started to have a following also I do think there's a weird thing about having a big following or being in the public eye, this is something I always say to my friends, I feel sometimes a bit gagged because if I clap back and I did a story and I'd be like, something really mean, everyone would be like, that is so mean, that's disgusting, you've got a platform.
29:52Olivia Attwood:But that person would have started and been really mean to me because you've got the platform, you're meant to be the bigger person. But I've never been a bigger person in my life ever. I'm like the pettiest bitch I've ever known.
30:02Hallie Batchelder:So I'm like, how can I be a bigger person? Have you ever, I used to do this, like, I don't do this anymore because people were getting mad at me for doing it. If someone would send me a really hateful DM and it wasn't on a burner account, I posted out my story. Yeah. And I would, like, have basically the people that follow me, like, go after these people in the comment section. But I'm like, in my head, I'm like, they started it. If they sent it, there has to be a chance. It's fair game. Yeah. But they were like, I can't believe you would abuse your platform and have your, like, fan base, like, attack this poor woman.
30:32Hallie Batchelder:And I was like.
30:33Olivia Attwood:It's a weird thing. Like sometimes I miss just being able to be a piece of shit like in private. Same. And in public. Because now I'm like if I'm in London and I want to maybe get into an argument with someone in the supermarket, they're going to be like, oh, you think you're so – but no, I was always just a twat. It's nothing to do with having followers. It's just me. But you also think like there's a layer – Yeah, sometimes I can't defend myself the way I want to. Yeah. When did you get your ADHD diagnosis?
31:07Hallie Batchelder:When I was, well, I feel like when everyone was getting an ADHD diagnosis.
31:12Olivia Attwood:Was it the same year that Louis Vuitton was going popular again?
31:15Hallie Batchelder:Yeah, it was like the same. Everyone was wearing sugar lipses. You know what I mean? And getting their ADHD mess. Yeah, I think it wasn't a real thing for like our parents, ADHD. I think it was a newer thing. So I think I was 12.
31:29Olivia Attwood:Yeah, so you were young. yeah that's actually good for a girl that's a really good yeah I used to get diagnosed because I I'm a bit older than you but I was like they at school they were like you know she she behaves like she has ADD but you know we don't really see it in girls and I didn't do all the things that like typical like box also everyone displays it kind of differently yeah and then I was like 17 I went for a really bad patch and someone else was like oh there could be something here but no doesn't really but she's really organized and she's really neat so it can't be that and then I was like 20 before I officially got the diagnosis yeah and as my brother has it um my sister I don't know she's a little bit something on the spectrum but I mean what's funny about our um our parents is like dad collects things so I think the call's coming inside the house but no one's allowed to touch anything on his desk so yeah I think we know where it's coming from so you can just like relax when you want your spring break to feel like
32:28Hallie Batchelder:and your kid's pool day to feel like and your hotel bed to feel like and room service to feel like because at Hilton, hospitality feels like Your cabana's ready. Would you like fresh towels? It matters where you stay. Book now at Hilton.com. Hilton for this day. no yeah it is three there's four of like four of us and three out of four all were diagnosed with adhd and i was just such like they were like oh it's because you're a bad student but i think like i was just like all over the place couldn't sit still i'm still like i'm not treated anymore for it no so i'm like very fidgety and kind of just like i'll lose my train of thought sometimes
33:15Olivia Attwood:but same you deal with it you know i feel like you take the good with the bad and also it it might I think that I'm quite similar to you. I think when you are ADD, especially a girl, you are anxious because you can't turn off. Yeah. It's just like on a, like a, it's like a hamstring wheel. Yeah, all the time. I always feel like I'm excited or nervous for something, but I don't know what it is.
33:38Hallie Batchelder:It's like a very, it's like a roller coaster. It's like a really interesting feeling. But yeah, I always feel like there's no off button. Can you have a drink and chill out? Or does drinking make you loopy? Drinking always makes me loopy. so that's an ADHD thing yeah no yeah it does make me loopy but I think I drink probably have
33:56Olivia Attwood:more than the recommended no yeah of course like if you drink enough it's gonna knock you out anyway but you know people who are like on a plane and like I was gonna have a glass of red wine and then go to sleep I do that yeah see if I have a glass of red wine I'll be trying to get in the cockpit I'll know not to travel with you so I just the idea of drinking alcohol and then like going to sleep or like chilling out at home drinking alcohol that's my ADHD with alcohol just like and I like drinking I'm a social drinker like the way it makes me feel but yeah I can't
34:28Hallie Batchelder:chill out with alcohol I don't drink at home no like I don't like have a glass of red wine to unwind at the end of well I'm like an influencer so I guess my days aren't stressful but like I don't like unwind like that I kind of just like if I have you're right like if I have a glass of alcohol i'm like all right so we're i'm probably going you know like where are we going before i
34:51Olivia Attwood:know i've got like heels on i'm standing by the door just staring into the hallway we both love reality tv yes what's your favorite what's your binge my binge is anything bravo
35:06Hallie Batchelder:real housewives which i recently just started getting into love island okay because your us one's just had a bit of a yeah okay yeah you you were season three uk yeah okay 2017 i need to watch your season because i'm just yeah i hear you're really funny i'm an absolute for like
35:25Olivia Attwood:eight weeks straight i go on love island you would be so good on love island why not i'm scared of
35:33Hallie Batchelder:the heart rate challenge horrific i didn't exist like if you have anxiety like we do i just can't I would be like, absolutely not. What if no one's heart moved?
35:43Olivia Attwood:But also, can you just imagine this, without making me sound like an alcoholic, that you have to be just completely sober. You are completely sober. For that reason, I wouldn't do the show. You're completely sober. And sometimes there's no music when they're doing the heart rate challenge because of clearancing issues. So they have to work out what music they can get clearance for. So it's dead silent.
36:03Hallie Batchelder:Are people like laughing or like cheering? Just to hear like heavy breathing.
36:10Olivia Attwood:that's actually like my health i loved love island actually i had so much fun just terrorizing the villa for like 10 weeks straight but the the challenges will make you question everything like you're like you're standing there and like i don't know some costume doing like what is basically a kid's game which you know is going to be publicly shown to the whole nation you're just like what what the fuck am I doing? And also just like,
36:36Hallie Batchelder:not having your phone. Like, I would be the villain. Like, I would be the one like, that they would have to be like, Hallie, like, you have to leave the villa because people hate you so much outside. Like, that's what I'm scared of.
36:47Olivia Attwood:They'd go on the tannoy. Why don't you go and have a cigarette and give everyone a rest?
36:53Olivia Attwood:That would be mean. Yeah, and I was like, I don't want no smoke and you weren't bored of smoke. You want alcohol. Well, you're not having it. Were you able to tan there? Like, what do you mean? Like, lie out in the sun yeah yeah yeah you do but like they're always having you do something are people like actually like falling in love there yeah some people yeah me no some people did anyone there's like one couple from my series who are like married now and have kids like you don't if you want to get your man you don't go to love island but what i always say is like it can
37:26Hallie Batchelder:happen and it has happened thing is i don't know if i would want a man that would want to go on love island this is the problem and that's the problem this is the problem that would kind of
37:35Olivia Attwood:give me the heck so like i'm gonna be sexist i don't care it's like influencer men yeah and they
37:41Hallie Batchelder:want to be influencers i know imagine you having to take his photos for him and like help him with his hashtags but like i also love influencer men sometimes do you have you got a bit of a soft spot well like they are at the same events i go out to a night after a couple cocktails you know like you never know you never know you never know
38:00Olivia Attwood:yeah is there any dating show or TV show you would do I would do Traders
38:05Hallie Batchelder:oh that's a good one I like Traders yeah I could see you on that yeah I feel like that would be a fun show to do but I don't think I would go on a dating show because people would be like this girl I can't take her seriously on a dating show but like I would consider it yeah I feel like it would have to be like the right fit and like the right where my mind was at in that era of my life but what's your favorite um housewife franchise right now i love salt lake and if you're not watching salt lake right now like i'm not i don't know like it's so good is it the best are they unhinged i need them to be really unhinged what is entertaining about them that a lot of the bravo franchises have lost is that they're so delusional and so themselves and they're so delulu and they'll just like argue to the desk about things and they're just like kind of out of touch with reality in a really comedic way and it's just the best smut tv i think there is out right now a bit like old school ronnie yes i mean there nothing beats old school ronnie like og like ramona singer those eyes on the catwalk the eyes on the catwalk like i I rewatched all these things.
39:18Hallie Batchelder:That was me walking back to my hotel last night.
39:24Olivia Attwood:This way! No, but yeah, I love anything proper. Yeah, they were just crazy bitches, weren't they? Crazy. What about the trip to St. Bart's? And she's like, and I heard a man's voice.
39:35Hallie Batchelder:And I heard Luann. And they all just kind of like let loose. Like Luann is also like her burlesque whole bit.
39:41Olivia Attwood:She's always in London on that gay club scene. And yeah. Doesn't jock me.
39:46Hallie Batchelder:And she's got the little hat on the side of her head. They're kind of iconic for this behavior. Like, I love it and we need more of it. When they did the New York Housewives reboot, I knew like they had lost the plot because I think they were starting to offend people. I don't know. But like, you just can't have the same TV as you used to like 12 years ago, I don't think. Yeah, agreed.
40:07Olivia Attwood:Yeah. And that's why when you watch My Love Island, you'll see it was a vintage season. A vintage season? The smoking. We didn't wear makeup. We were just a mess. with vile. You didn't wear any makeup? In the daytime, no. I thought I was on holiday. There's a TikTok clip going around. I'm going to find it. And I'm standing on the balcony. I'm wearing a pink thong. Like a lacy thong. I'm out. I'm out of the house. I'm not in the bedroom. A hoodie. And I'm smoking. I literally look like I'm on a criminal watch show. And I'm just saying, fuck, fucking this. I was like, this. And now the girls are so, They get done up for the day, and they do their hair, and then the bikinis on.
40:49Olivia Attwood:I was like, I was like sunbathing in my underwear most days. Wait, I kind of love that.
40:54Hallie Batchelder:That's a season I would have been like, I want to go on Love Island. Yeah, you would have been great in that era. I don't want to put, I don't, that's probably why I don't leave the house, honestly, during the week, is because I don't want to put any makeup on during the day. I'm like that. I'm just like, ugh.
41:08Olivia Attwood:When I do my documentaries in the UK, people write me, and they're like, I love when they do documentaries like sometimes you're just wearing no makeup like it's such a statement it's so refreshing I'm like babe I just fucking couldn't be asked I was so late couldn't be bothered I couldn't have glam because I was late and I was probably hungover and I didn't want to be touched by anyone so that's why that's like literally how I am dating are you dating?
41:35Hallie Batchelder:you know I'm like a really bad dater okay I've also I mean these are going to sound like a bunch of cop outs but like I've been super busy like yeah focusing on my career the right guys like ask me on dates but yeah I just think that I like the wrong men like I feel like I want to work for like someone to ask me on a date almost like I like when like guys don't show me attention so if you're like asking me on a date and like giving me that like immediate attention I am likely to say no to it
42:02Olivia Attwood:what there's something wrong with me basically you're in a safe space what type of guy would you look at physically in a bar who would catch your eye dark blonde tall like tall dark and
42:15Hallie Batchelder:handsome tall is like important to me because I feel like they're harder to find these days for some reason but like funny I'd rather like I always say this I would rather like in eight that's like super funny than like a 10 out of 10 that's kind of bland yeah because you have to like
42:31Olivia Attwood:grow old with these people what's your like red flag that it's like a deal breaker if you're like hooking up with someone talking to them is there anything she's like what's that I mean I love red
42:44Hallie Batchelder:flags but um I think something that would be like an immediate red flag to me now is love bombing oh I'm able to clock that really quickly and I feel like it shows a lot of I feel like if you're a love bomber you're toxic in a lot more ways than that I feel like kind of shows that you're
43:04Olivia Attwood:a narcissist and that's just the start and that's just the start so which is it someone that would be like saying things way too soon like promising the world yeah overdoing it and you're thinking
43:15Hallie Batchelder:why are you doing this i haven't felt this way in a long time and kind of just like you know like the whole like reeling you in and i've fallen for it like so many times and those kind of like hurt the most because then you're like wait what did i do wrong and then yeah what happened because
43:30Olivia Attwood:They just like fuck with your head.
43:31Hallie Batchelder:You're like, well, you were in love with me last week. And it's whole mindfuck. So I try to avoid that at all costs. Because I'm not a love bomber. I don't have time to type a text like that.
43:41Olivia Attwood:Yeah.
43:42Hallie Batchelder:You know?
43:43Olivia Attwood:Do you find it hard to let your guard down with guys?
43:46Hallie Batchelder:Yes. I think men probably would think I'm like icier than I actually am. Once you have a conversation with me, I feel like I'm a lot warmer. I feel like it's like this with anyone actually. but I feel like my body language when I'm out doesn't scream like, come up to me and say hi and have like a fun little conversation. Like, you know, pull me for a chat. Pull me for a chat.
44:10Olivia Attwood:Would that be a misconception about you? That you're probably warmer and softer than people would think from seeing you on the internet?
44:18Hallie Batchelder:I think people think, I kind of just like, I think I serve too hard sometimes. God forbid. God forbid a girl like has hobbies. but like I think people like oh my god you're so nice like they're shocked by it okay yeah but men are pussies yeah like I don't I don't know do you think men would be intimidated by what you do
44:43Olivia Attwood:in terms of if they date you they're gonna have a tiktok made about them I will say it's 100 %
44:49Hallie Batchelder:I thought like when I would get this platform lots of followers like a dating would be easier you know but it's made it 10 times harder because either a guy is like a little weird freak clout chaser or a guy doesn't want me to talk about them online or a guy doesn't like what i've said online about my past experiences and relationships or like who i've hooked up with and like the details of that it will take a very specific man to put up with all my shit but also i don't you're not asking for that much. And like until like he can afford a big house with like, you know, a couple of bathrooms and stuff, I don't think I would want to like, I'm not going to live in a small apartment in New York with a man.
45:28Hallie Batchelder:I'm sorry. I don't want to do that. I would rather not. Well, you don't want to be in a studio apartment with someone. Sharing a bathroom with a guy? This sounds like my personal hell. That's disgusting. Also, like your 20s is the only time in your life where you can be so selfish. Yeah. And like shamelessly selfish. Exactly. You don't have to wipe anyone's ass. You don't have to be like, I love you, miss you. Like, I'm out with the girls. Like, I just feel like I'm taking advantage of, like, a time in my life where I can be extremely selfish. Yeah, as you should. And get away with it. And then I will be ready when I'm ready to.
46:00Hallie Batchelder:100%. I know.
46:01Olivia Attwood:Okay, this little segment is called Hallie in the hot seat. Period. Hallie, you're known for your opinions and directness. Today, we have you in the hot seat. And I'm going to ask you a few questions. I want your unfiltered, knee-jerk thoughts. ready I love this lock in hold on to the side the publicist in the room publicist in the room guys hold on to that seat just lock lock and load
46:26Hallie Batchelder:don't look at her she's like no let's do it I'm excited
46:32Olivia Attwood:last celeb to slide into your DMs
46:38Hallie Batchelder:I mean I could look but I don't know if I would say that but I did this on another podcast and I got, it was out there the next day and it gave me a lot of anxiety. So I was like, oh, I probably like, I don't know, not a lot of like famous men DM me. I'm going to let you off the hook. Okay. This is your only pass. I'm like sweating a lot.
46:59Olivia Attwood:I don't want you to get stressed. It's not worth it. The last time a billionaire bought you an outfit? Probably like a few years ago. Oh, okay. Yeah, probably. Because you had that story, didn't you, about that billionaire guy that used to get you dresses and bits and bobs and bags. Yeah.
47:16Hallie Batchelder:That's fun. In Vegas, yeah. Yeah. He sent me that clip and he did not like that clip. But also, like, there was a guy I used to see who was, like, a billionaire. He used to, like, get me things like that too. Yeah.
47:27Olivia Attwood:What's your love language? Do you like GIFs?
47:30Hallie Batchelder:I don't like, I'd rather, like, quality time than GIFs, I think.
47:36Olivia Attwood:I want all five. Yeah.
47:38Hallie Batchelder:Yeah.
47:38Olivia Attwood:Word. last time you used your dad's credit card and what for
47:44Hallie Batchelder:um Amazon and he disputed all the charges from the banks and now I have to pay all of them on my own credit card and I'm not happy about it and I texted him and I said are you having like a rough month at work I don't know what's happening because this feels very targeted towards me like disputed like I got kind of banned from Amazon last week oh my god yeah Yeah.
48:09Olivia Attwood:I had to claim all the charges.
48:11Hallie Batchelder:I'm like, you disputed, like, an eyelash curler? He's, like, doing it to piss me off. Like, I don't know. It's like.
48:18Olivia Attwood:He's like, how do you buy your own fucking eyelash curler?
48:20Hallie Batchelder:Yeah.
48:21Olivia Attwood:Any weird kinks?
48:24Hallie Batchelder:I have all the kinks.
48:26Olivia Attwood:Do you? Yeah. Okay, what's your, like, what's your biggest one? I don't know. I like bondage a lot. Oh.
48:32Hallie Batchelder:Yeah, I think that's fun and playful.
48:34Olivia Attwood:Fucking nodding dog in the corner. I'm like God someone woke up and he was here and he's like sorry bondage is good but I don't do I've never done role play I haven't because I this thing had cringe I would laugh like imagine being in that costume and being like
48:58Hallie Batchelder:the doctor's here to see I do I do like threesomes I've done a few of those I think those are fun would you prefer is that a kink? That's kinky. I would say that's kinky. Two girls or two guys? Two girls. I don't want another dick in there. It's so much work. I would get like, I would pull a wrist.
49:21Olivia Attwood:No, those are good ones. Yeah. Okay. Three emojis that describe your dating style.
49:29Hallie Batchelder:The ghost emoji. The wet emoji, the water. Perfect. and what's the one where she's slipping her hair black?
49:40Olivia Attwood:Oh, the little sassy girl.
49:42Hallie Batchelder:That was a good one, right?
49:43Olivia Attwood:Yes, really good. Are you a ghoster?
49:46Hallie Batchelder:You can be. It depends how much. Yeah. Sometimes you just got to go. Sometimes you just got to go.
49:53Olivia Attwood:Sometimes you got to leave behind the door. You said that you would let anyone see your camera roll, but a chat GPC history would be a nightmare. what kind of things do you ask chat gpt that would be a nightmare i ask them for relationship advice
50:11Hallie Batchelder:i ask them will he text me back given like i'll send a screenshot and be like based off of this like will they will they reply i'm very actually like i used to was like fortune tellers that's kind of like why i wouldn't want anyone to see that because imagine the guy that you're dating then you've got a whole hit chat history and just like them once i went to uh what's it called a um what are those they like look at your eyes and then you tell the future oh like a psychic yeah so like i would like showed her like every guy i was like getting with like my whole roster and she'd be like this guy no i can keep for the next three months but then no like i'm
50:51Olivia Attwood:like really crazy like that hallie i mean it only made sense to have you at olivia's house because you love a members club i have a little um little segment of the show where basically i ask my guests to tell me who they want to recommend to the club who would you like to invite in who gets on the
51:07Hallie Batchelder:guest list who do you think i should have sitting in that chair i think my bestie graden you would
51:13Olivia Attwood:love him you know him in my videos is he tall like handsome guy he's tall he looks like a lot of
51:20Hallie Batchelder:beautiful skin any of my gays honestly i love my gay man dylan kevich would also be really fun i've had him on my show wait is he's like a shut up and fuck me guy he's perfect and amazing um that is
51:32Olivia Attwood:art yeah guys have you seen this guy shut up and fuck me he's so funny and he what he's does someone watch his phone for him i always wonder how has his phone not been stolen or is that not your thing in new york oh is that a thing it's so bad in london you couldn't like people get their phones
51:50Hallie Batchelder:snatched up their hands in broad daylight well based off of like his videos there's always like I feel like he lives by a retirement community. There's always old people. Like on walkers. And I don't think they can snatch a phone around.
52:02Olivia Attwood:He either has a tripod, he sticks his phone up, and then he just goes, shut up and fuck me. And then he does a dance. And then they'll be like, as if an unpaid actor, an old person, will just pass the phrase.
52:14Hallie Batchelder:He's perfect. That's a good one. Yeah.
52:16Olivia Attwood:And who are we blacklisting? Who needs to get banned?
52:19Hallie Batchelder:I would say my ex. I would be really upset if he was sitting here with you. and I would be confused too because he's a fucking loser. Nobody knows him. Clip that.
52:31Olivia Attwood:Okay, your ex. We'll cut cameras and give me the name so I can write it down. Make sure he can navigate him. Perfect. Hallie, it's been so much fun. It's kind of like, I feel like I've been sitting like looking into a mirror. I really like you. Me to my other half.
52:44Hallie Batchelder:I might come to London with you.
52:46Olivia Attwood:I would love for you to come to London. I feel like if you come to London, we should go out and then like debrief it on the pod. And do this again. I think that would be really fun. That would be funny. We should do that. Grace, you ready to video that night out in some parts?
53:01Hallie Batchelder:We could do a whole vlog.
