In short
Pardon My Take episode mixing (1) Draymond Green interview hype and NBA trade-deadline reaction, (2) Super Bowl media-week talk including Roger Goodell’s press conference and international NFL schedule news, and (3) football takes and segment banter (Hot Seat/Cool Throne, Guys on Hank), plus (4) DraftKings/Bombas ads and general sports chatter.
Guests (and who they are)
- Draymond Green: Golden State Warriors star forward; the hosts discuss hypothetical trade scenarios and note Warriors/Bucks “active talks” involving him.
- Scott Zolak: Former Patriots quarterback/football broadcaster; described as “dialed in” and a “relic of the past,” joining to talk Super Bowl topics.
Key claims / notable points
- Roger Goodell press conference: hosts mock his claim that officiating is “great” and that players enjoy international games because they feel like “ambassadors.” They reference reporters (Diana Rossini) and specific player quotes (they speculate names like Travis Etienne/Brian Thomas Jr.).
- 2026 NFL international schedule: 16 international games total; locations include London (3), Madrid (return), Melbourne (Australia), Mexico City, Munich, Rio de Janeiro, and Paris. The hosts complain about travel/time zones and argue France is not a football country.
- Rooney Rule: hosts discuss it as a checkmark and say it hasn’t produced results (citing “0 for 10” on Black head coaches hired for vacancies, as discussed in the episode).
- Super Bowl media night: described as having “lost aura,” with examples of awkward/pointed questions (Cam Newton ISIS question; Ron Rivera go-for-two math argument).
- Patriots/Hall of Fame debate: Bob Kraft not getting in; Bill Belichick not first ballot; hosts argue Tom Brady should be first ballot and debate whether voters’ “vengeance” could block him.
Notable examples (NBA trades discussed)
- Grizzlies trade Jaren Jackson Jr. and others to the Jazz for Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, George Niang, and three future first-round picks.
- Multi-team deal: Jaden Ivey + Mike Conley Jr. to Bulls; Kevin Herter + Dario Saric to Pistons; Detroit gets a 2026 protected swap from Minnesota.
- Bulls trade Nikola Vucevic to Celtics for Anthony Simmons and a second-round pick.

Hour and 15? Hour and a half? Put the mic in front of your face, Max Hour and a half?
1:23PFT Commenter:We actually were going to save it for after Super Bowl, and it was so good, we're like, we have to run it right now. So we do talk about hypotheticals of him being traded. We also have our very good friend Scott Zolak on to talk Super Bowl. He's a one-on-one guy, Scott Zolak. He's a relic of the past. He's the best.
1:42Big Cat:Scott Zolak is 100 % dialed in. And also the Draymond Green interview. You're right. I think it might be top 10. Ooh, top 10. Might be top 10 PMT history.
1:50PFT Commenter:So we're going to talk some Super Bowl. We had Roger Goodell's big press conference. We have hot seat, cool throne. And then we have the first ever guys on Hank. Questions for Hank. Oh, he forgot about it. Yeah.
2:04Big Cat:Oh, that makes it so much better. Hank, why are you upset? They might be good. They might be all just good things. You know what? Yeah. Let's be positive. Who's picking the options that we're going to read? That would be Connor. Yeah. Oh, Connor. We're going government names.
2:16PFT Commenter:Government names. Okay.
2:17Big Cat:We have a great show, though, for you. In sports, winning takes more than talent. It takes strength, reliability, and the drive to go the distance. Sound familiar? That's the same DNA you'll find in a Chevy Silverado. As capable and dependable as a winning team, Chevy Silverado shows up and gets the job done. It won't flinch when the pressure's on. It doesn't take plays off. When it comes to trucks, Chevy Silverado is football guy approved. To learn more about Silverado, visit Chevy.com.
2:44PFT Commenter:Okay, let's go.
2:49Football guy, but team of A.W. Hey, hey. Pardon my tape.
2:56Big Cat:Yeah.
3:00Big Cat:Pardon my tape. Yeah. Pardon my tape. Yeah. Pardon my tape. Welcome to Pardon my tape. In sports, winning takes more than talent. It takes strength, reliability, and the drive to go the distance. Sound familiar? That's the same DNA you'll find in a Chevy Silverado. 3:37PFT Commenter:Today is Wednesday, February 4th, and Hank Week continues because we had Roger Goodell's press conference, and we have nine international games in the 2026 NFL season. Look what you've fucking done, you piece of shit. There's some new... That wasn't a question. I was talking to PFT. I'll take it from here. You were saying you called PFT a piece of shit?
4:03Big Cat:No, I was calling you a piece of shit, but it was not a question. Yeah, not a question. I did not end it with a question mark. There's a period at the end of that sentence. Yes. Period is a punctuation mark for when you're done talking. The games are London. We got three games in London. it returns to Madrid, Spain. Which, by the way, I got to see the stadium when I was over Madrid. Incredible stadium. Awesome stadium. Keep football out of there. That's a soccer stadium. Melbourne, Australia. Melbourne. Melbourne.
4:30PFT Commenter:Insane that the teams are going to have to go to Australia.
4:33Big Cat:That's going to be, I'm going to guess, a 16-hour plane ride. I think it's 21 hours if it's an East Coast team. They'll probably do West Coast, I would imagine. Who knows? They're just shoving these down our throat. We got the return to Mexico City. If you think the altitude's an issue in Denver, Mexico City is super high. We got Munich, Germany. Sweet. And then two new locations, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Brazil. And Paris, France. Gay Paris. The NFL is going to Gay Paris. The Saints. The Saints are going. Yeah. Hank, is France a Super Bowl country? No. Are we going to get the Super Bowl in France?
5:09Big Cat:No. There's a lot of better countries on that list. where would you if there was to be an international super bowl where would you put it the madrid one that was it was all it was high praise up your ass is the correct answer that's where you put it
5:21PFT Commenter:it's just too much it used to be fun because it was like two or three times and it was oh this is an experience you know what it reminds me of did you guys know that on sunday two days ago there was a stadium series game yeah yeah that's in florida they just throw these things out there It's like, hey, this one thing, stadium series, exactly the same. It used to be, oh, there was one of them on January 1st, and it was cool, and it was an experience. Now they're just fucking throwing stadium series at us left and right, don't even know when they're happening. This is the same thing. You just don't need this many games.
5:55PFT Commenter:And the worst part about it is this is clearly going to keep going up and up and up. It's not going to go backwards. It's going to go more until every single team. There will be 16 international games, and every single team will have to play in an international game. And then Henry Lockwood, his watch will end, and he'll be happy that he's ruined the sport of football in America.
6:16Big Cat:So it looks like the Rams are going to be one of the teams that goes over to Australia. Okay. The Rams might be one of the designated teams for that. I'm curious to know what time of day it's going to be played. Who knows? Time zones fuck you up when you go to Europe.
6:29PFT Commenter:We do have our time zone expert here.
6:30Big Cat:Time zones when you go to Australia is going to be absolutely insane. The game is probably going to be played on a Monday. Give it a shot. Like Monday morning. Give it a shot. I can't.
6:40PFT Commenter:Google it and give it a shot. By the way, Zach is sick, so that's why he's not in this chair. And he didn't tell us. That's probably why he slept the other day. He wasn't going to tell us. He did not tell anyone for about 24 hours, so there's a very high chance all of us get sick.
6:54Big Cat:He had never had In-N-Out. We went to In-N-Out for his first time, and he ordered just like a double-double. Yeah. He was like, I'm good. And I looked at him, I'm like, Zach, I've heard your orders a hundred times. You get like 5X that. He's like, no, no, I'm good. I'm good. That should have been the number one sign.
7:09PFT Commenter:He's keeping sickness from us. And yeah, I don't feel maybe this is just, you know, in my own head, but I didn't wake up feeling great this morning. Me neither. And so the whole podcast might be, I guess if we all get sick on Thursday, it will just be Zach doing a solo show because he'll be better by then.
7:27Big Cat:Yeah, he'll be happy. He'll be spry. This is going to be Melbourne's going to be too much Go ahead give it to us Right now it's 3.30am Tomorrow
7:39PFT Commenter:Okay but right now what time is it It's 8.30am In New York It's 11.30am
7:49Big Cat:In New York
7:50PFT Commenter:And it's what time in Melbourne 3.30am
7:53Big Cat:So how are they going to play this game They might play a Monday night game find max find out for me what time 7 p.m no that'll be a sunday night game here no but monday night in melbourne yeah it's sunday night here yeah yeah that's what i'm saying so they're gonna take sunday night football no it might be a monday afternoon game look up what time max look up what time 5 p.m in melbourne is this is on the east coast this is what you've done to us roger
8:18PFT Commenter:you've made us try to learn things and that's not what the nfl is about but he is did you see what he said about the players no diana rossini who we all think is an incredible reporter said that yeah all of us do uh she's our queen goodell said she's uh he spoke to many players and discovered how much they enjoy playing international games because they feel like ambassadors that's this has got to be he talked to like one punter and a long snapper this is that to me
8:47Big Cat:I think that was probably Travis Etienne that said that. There's no way this happened. Brian Thomas Jr. said that. There's no way this happened. I really like playing in London because I feel like an ambassador. This is crazy. Max, grow the game. I think I found it. I think I figured out how we're going to do this as a society.
9:06PFT Commenter:Hope you're listening, NFL. We've got this figured out.
9:09Big Cat:Ready? 12 p.m. noon, Melbourne is 8 p.m.
9:15PFT Commenter:New York. So it's Sunday night football. So it'll have to be Sunday night football. That's awesome. That I'm fine with. Yeah. That's a regular slot. So now we're down to eight games.
9:24Big Cat:We're down to eight games. The France one, I don't get it. France is not a football country.
9:29PFT Commenter:No, it's the opposite of football country.
9:31Big Cat:It's going to be terrible. We're going back to Spain. We're hitting the Brazil thing again. We're doing that. We got to stop. Football, it belongs in these walls, in this country. We have to stop. This is our thing. Although Melbourne would probably be a great time. I have another problem with Melbourne. I might be on Team Hank when it comes to Australia. Melbourne, should we go? What they're probably going to do is like a Friday night. Oh, yeah. It's going to be like a Friday night.
9:57PFT Commenter:He's right. It's going to be a Friday night. Yeah. So what time would the game be played here?
10:01Big Cat:So it'll still be Saturday at noon for a Friday night game. Yeah. But what's going to be bullshit. Because of the travel, too. That's going to be the second game of the season. Yeah. 100%. And then they're – no, but you'd think you'd give those teams a bye week coming back. Yeah, they have to have a bye coming back.
Read the full transcript
10:16PFT Commenter:No, they don't necessarily do, especially if they play a day before – two days before Sunday.
10:21Big Cat:I think if it's a 16 - to 20-hour plane ride, I think you would have to give those teams a bye week.
10:26PFT Commenter:I feel like this might be the second game of the season.
10:30Big Cat:I'm kind of feeling second game of the season. I also think it's going to be bullshit that it's going to be like an 8 p.m. start. It's just going to be completely bright the entire – It's going to suck. I'm going to be very confused watching that game.
10:40PFT Commenter:You are the reason this is happening.
10:43Big Cat:You are the reason this is happening. No, you.
10:46PFT Commenter:This beautiful game is growing.
10:48Big Cat:We have lots of international fans.
10:50PFT Commenter:We know that. I did see some Irish dudes at the diner this morning. NFL Ireland.
10:57Big Cat:Yeah. Australia is one of our biggest international listeners.
11:02PFT Commenter:Yeah, we have no problem with the Australian game because we realize that it's going to be a night game. So we're cool with that. We're kind of cool with it.
11:08Big Cat:Aussies, we're cool with it. Yeah, we're cool with Aussies. We'll share the Australia is basically like South United States. Yeah. I'm okay with that. But yeah, the travel logistics sucks. We're trying to grow the game. We're trying to build revenues overseas at the expense. I'm not. No, at the expense of the American fan. I don't care about the revenues of the NFL anymore. Internationals read books too. They listen to podcasts. They want takes.
11:30PFT Commenter:You're not even going to watch these games.
11:32Big Cat:The Australian one, I will.
11:33PFT Commenter:Yeah. And then the other ones?
11:35Big Cat:If the Patriots are playing in it, I'll watch. I'll turn it on when I wake up.
11:40PFT Commenter:So the other news that came out. So one last question.
11:43Big Cat:Oh, yeah. When is aren't they announcing the Super Bowl venues?
11:48PFT Commenter:I don't know.
11:49Big Cat:Well, we already know the next two, but I think they're doing the other one soon. Yeah. Max was actually. That's got it's got to be coming. It's going to drive people nuts.
11:58PFT Commenter:No, no, no. We're not coming this year. They're going to do 16 games international first. It's coming. The Max, we were talking about future Super Bowl sites, and Max was doing the math in his head, and he's like, all right, so L.A. next year, I'm going to have to go to the Birds game. Then Atlanta, we probably will lose in the playoffs. We'll lose in the first round. He just won every other year now. So, Roger, he held his press conference. They're trying to rework the Rooney rule. I don't really understand. I do think that the Rooney rule is it feels like people just use it as a checkmark now.
12:33Big Cat:Yeah, that's kind of what it's been. And this year was like everybody pointed out like 0 for 10 on black head coaches getting hired for all the vacancies. Robert Salah is Lebanese. He got hired. He was a former head coach. It's never worked as intended. Basically, the Steelers were like, we knocked it out of the park with Tomlin. So, therefore, everybody else should have to bring in somebody. Yeah. And it's the owners that are making the call. So, it really hasn't worked to its intention. They'll try to figure out something new to do with it. um but yeah so far i'm gonna try this joke again uh wait the rooney rule hasn't worked but now we've got two sets of brothers as head coaches in the nfl nice nice put in a laugh track for that one nice that was way better mike lafleur's uh his hair is something he's the hair
13:20PFT Commenter:that yeah that we were talking about jeff halfley he's like mike lafleur's hair yeah he's he's jeff
13:25Big Cat:halfley with like another quarter inch on there swaggy but uh yeah so goodell did his press
13:30PFT Commenter:conference he just basically lied to everyone he was like yeah the officiating's great uh everyone wants more international games blah blah blah blah blah hank just lapped it all up the officiating
13:41Big Cat:comment was was comedy i have a take on that actual comedy yeah the actual quote was i'm amazed at how good our officials are that he said and he said it watches the games being like yes such a straight face such a straight face from goodell i will say that i i think it's probably very very hard to be an NFL ref. Yeah. There's a lot of things that you don't think so, Max? No, I would say I couldn't do it. Yeah, it's got to be super hard. And do you think that the guys that we currently have reffing NFL games are the best in the world at reffing NFL football? Well, no, because they don't get paid year round to do it.
14:13Big Cat:Yeah, but out of all the people in the world, nobody gets paid year round to do it. I think they're probably the best, right? I'm sure they get paid a year. Who do you think would be better?
14:22PFT Commenter:Probably like a 19-year-old Asian boy who's really good at Call of Duty, who's got fast twitch eye muscles yeah like those gamer guys are awesome a guy sitting in a chair yeah where
14:33Big Cat:would be better at it yeah i don't know i don't know i do think that here's my problem with refs they've gotten too focused on physical fitness recently we used to have one jack ref that was ed hockely all these other guys are like i want to have big arms too yeah they need to be in the
14:46PFT Commenter:lab not in the gym isn't it isn't so tell me this so we we lost our uh our gamer here to sickness but isn't it like the the guys who play competitive gaming they're really really good until like they're 22 years old and then they're washed up yeah that's how it like they're all all the guys who are incredible gamers are just their eyesight is the best it possibly could be their ability to track things it feels like we should have a bunch of teenage refs or yeah put body cams on them that works too accountability yeah but uh so that that was it and then we had the super bowl uh media night which has just lost all of its aura and luster it looked ridiculous it was a fire fest I don't know why they stopped doing it in the stadium.
15:28PFT Commenter:I guess because San Francisco, obviously, the stadium's outdoors. The whole setup for San Francisco makes no sense because Santa Clara's so far away.
15:35Big Cat:It's stupid. Well, I was at the last one that they did here, and it was at that convention center. That's where Dave asked Belichick if he could kill anybody for him. Nope. That was the year before.
15:45PFT Commenter:Belichick wasn't in that Super Bowl.
15:46Big Cat:Oh, that's right. That was in Arizona. That must have been Arizona. Yeah, I don't think media night was ever really great. Do you have a story from that media night? Oh, the one in San Francisco? Yeah, I asked Cam Newton if he was so strong and athletic and loved America, why didn't he go overseas and fight ISIS? That's a good question. And he had absolutely no answer to that. And then I grilled Ron Rivera for about 10 minutes on why he doesn't just go for two every single time. And he goes, well, here's the thing. He's like, sometimes you don't get it if you go for two. I was like, sometimes you don't get it if you kick the extra point.
16:19Big Cat:And 50 % of two is greater than 94 % of one. And then he just didn't understand that math at all. But no, Meaty Day, I don't think was ever really that great. It's just that.
16:32PFT Commenter:Well, no, but it used to have like some type of, I actually think that they screwed it up making it Monday night. Like it was weirdly 10 years ago or whatever it was when it was during the day and you're just like, you're sitting at work and you're like, oh yeah, they're doing this. Like there's some stories that pop up. Now at night, I don't know. And it just, yeah. It sort of looked horrible. It looked terrible.
16:51Big Cat:Terrible. Absolutely terrible. I don't know. It looked worse than it was 10 years ago. That's the part I don't understand. It's like they were here. Yeah. They've been here. The setup and the clips from it just looked bizarre. I like Dave Damoshek asking Vrabel if it was a must-win game. That's actually a good question. That was a great question. Must-win or can't lose. Vrabel said they're all must-wins. Did you hear what Tom Brady said? No. So Tom Brady, they asked him who he was rooting for. Yeah. Tom Brady, our GOAT, right, Hank? Yep. He said, I'm rooting for a good game. He said, I don't have a dog in the fight.
17:23Big Cat:well he does he doesn't the raiders yeah the raiders not i mean he is an owner but they're
17:29PFT Commenter:not in the fight sense that he's not like outwardly saying i'm rooting for one team or the other
17:34Big Cat:well if he's rooting for the raiders isn't he also then rooting for the seahawks because their
17:40PFT Commenter:offense coordinator is the new head coach of the raiders yeah i would say maybe but that like i saw that or did i see the quote or i can't remember i just know he's he's an owner now right so yeah He's got to basically pretend that he's neutral on all of it.
17:55Big Cat:Yeah. But I was shocked that he wasn't rooting for our Patriots. Shut up. What? This is Tom that said that. You're mad at me. You should be mad at Tom Brady. I'm sick of PFT parading around San Francisco. I got this big bet on the Patriots. Go Pats. Go Pats. Go. Did you hear about my bet on the Patriots? It's because they ain't. As a Patriots fan, I'm used to this hate. Hank has a bet that I placed. I'm used to the hate. It is Hank's money. It's Hank's, but it could be some of my money, too. But you are parading around town. I've heard you 10 different times be like, oh, Patriots. Got this big bet in the Patriots, and I just...
18:31Big Cat:I'm also rooting for my bet to lose, Hank. So you need to start saying this. So stop acting like you're a Patriots fan when you're talking. Like, you're fake as fuck. You have been going up to Patriots fans saying that we're in lockstep. Correct. Correct. It's fraud. And I'm publicly rooting for my bet to lose. But you're not. You're not saying that when you're telling people about this bet. That's the problem. Well, because the game hasn't started yet. So I have to bet on the Patriots. Once kickoff happens.
18:56PFT Commenter:So you found a way to play both sides, but also no sides. No, I'm... Because it's Hank's money and you bet it and you don't want it to hit.
19:03Big Cat:Yeah, I'm really actually rooting against the Patriots. But for the time being, I can say that I have a big bet on the Patriots, Hank. It's free country. But you really don't. I also... I do have a big bet on the Patriots.
19:14PFT Commenter:Well, Hank has a big bet on the Patriots. Yeah.
19:16Big Cat:You also keep saying that you're going to get some of the money too. you either lose$40 ,000 or you lose$2 ,000. Yeah. So you keep saying, like, I'm going to get some of this money, too. Yeah, I would much rather lose$40 ,000 than$2 ,000. Yes. That's what I'm doing for America. No, no, no. He'll get more than that. Why? Plus$195 ,000.
19:35PFT Commenter:So, oh. So I'll hang$80 ,000.
19:38Big Cat:He put$40 ,000 in. He's getting$30 ,000. He'll have$38 ,000 in his account if it, after giving it to Hank. Yeah. Got it. I was just, man. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. My goat, Tom Brady, it broke my heart when he was like, I don't have a dog in this fight. Come on, Tom. Lock in.
19:54PFT Commenter:PFT, I got a follow-up question for you. What are your thoughts on Bob Kraft not making him to the Hall of Fame?
19:59Big Cat:I mean, what does a guy have to do to get in? He's got to jerk someone off. It's crazy. It's crazy that Bob Kraft isn't getting into the Hall of Fame. Maybe the greatest owner in the history of any sport.
20:09PFT Commenter:Do you think, though, there's a small part of him that's maybe a little happy it didn't happen this year because it would have been very awkward? I think that's probably true.
20:16Big Cat:Yeah. But it does also feel like this is setting up so good for the Patriots. This is classic. Oh, yeah. Us against the world. They hate us because they ain't us. It's back to the old days, you know, when we were the whipping boy of the NFL, and all we did was go out there and win championships, right? In everybody's face. Yeah, it's bullshit. I mean, it's clearly there's never been more clear that the Patriots, and I don't understand why the NFL hates the Patriots the way they do. All they've done is brought. And then all you do is carry water for the NFL. False. Yeah, you do. False. With the international games.
20:49Big Cat:I carry water for the sport of football because I love it so much. As a Patriots fan, it's all the winning that we did that pissed them off. Also, probably all the cheating scandals that we had. But mostly the winning. It was mostly the winning.
21:03PFT Commenter:Has it registered that you bet$40 ,000 on the Super Bowl?
21:06Big Cat:Oh, yeah. Oh, it's registered. Trust me. I know. Like Hank says, I'm telling every Patriots fan that I see. Go, Pats, go. Dave didn't buy it. $40 ,000. Dave would, yeah. I've been keeping eyes on you. I've been watching your takes from afar. We'll have words. All right, Dave. I would love to converse with a fellow Patriots fan. I was also looking through the quarterbacks that we have right now. I was thinking about this last night before we went to bed. The quarterbacks that will then become like the next Sam Darnolds that we have out there. I had a couple that I added to the list. Maybe I went too far.
21:44PFT Commenter:By the way, just as a total aside, I completely forgot Tommy DeVito is in the Super Bowl. Yeah. He was at media day. I was like, holy shit, Tommy DeVito. Five for five on third and six. Yeah. Perfect. All right. Go ahead.
21:58Big Cat:It's a fact. He's the best in the NFL. The other two that I... What? What? What, Hank? What? Hank, you can't... You want this? You want this? You want to go? We got to be united. You want to step outside? Your whole stupid... No, because it's so stupid. Whatever. You started the stat by being like minimum 10 passes. So you can't then be like Tommy DeVito five passes.
22:16PFT Commenter:But even if Tommy DeVito goes incomplete for all five of those next ones, he's still better than Drake. Twice as good.
22:24Big Cat:Hank, there's also like an argument that you just have. They're not first downs. They could just be like check downs. This isn't. I honestly don't care. I know. I also don't care enough to look into it. And it's not a real stat. And it's pointless. I aren't wrong because it's in your head right now. Because it's so far in your head right now. Hank, you're right. It's a pointless stat.
22:48PFT Commenter:The Super Bowl coming down to third and six with PFT's big bet would be awesome. Awesome. Well, no, you don't want that because third and six statistically won't go your way.
23:01Big Cat:No, it went our way last game. He didn't pass. He didn't pass. I don't give a fuck. We got a first down and ended the game. If it's the fourth, third, and sixth of the day and he's been 0 for three on them, then you want them.
23:13PFT Commenter:But if it's the fourth, third, and sixth and he's gotten like three of them he's completed, you don't want it.
23:18Big Cat:I want it.
23:19PFT Commenter:Okay. Go ahead, PFT. Your next Sam Darnold. This is going to be great. Okay.
23:23Big Cat:The next Sam Darnold. I added Anthony Richardson to the list. I'm in. You're in? Yeah. So in. I don't know. See, Hank, lockstep. He needs to. Where does he go? He would have to go to like Minnesota. or or la maybe it might be like a little thing maybe uh maybe goes to arizona maybe arizona could fix them okay and then the other one that i had uh was mitch i don't know yeah fuck yeah so
23:54PFT Commenter:i i'm a big mitch guy but he if he was gonna be the sam darnold i think it would already happen because remember he did have a chance.
24:04Big Cat:Yeah, but Sam went to the Panthers, then the Niners, then he got good on the Vikings.
24:09PFT Commenter:Right. Mitch went to the Bills, the Steelers, then back to the Bills. Yeah, you're right.
24:13Big Cat:Mitch off the list. So he kind of already had the. I will be replacing Mitch Trubisky on this list with Kyle Trask. Okay.
24:19PFT Commenter:What about Justin Fields, pro bowler?
24:21Big Cat:Pro bowler.
24:21PFT Commenter:Well, no, he turned down the pro bowler. But he was, Memes is touting him as a pro bowler now.
24:25Big Cat:But Memes, he turned it down. But he was asked, he's a pro bowler. He was asked, he's a pro bowler. He was asked. Yeah, Justin Fields, he could be on the list too. But yeah, Anthony, I don't know. I should be done with Anthony Richardson, but I'm not. I feel like the answer is Malik Willis. Yeah, Malik Willis, he's number one. He might already be.
24:43PFT Commenter:Yeah. He might have been good enough this year and last year that he doesn't even qualify. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. Because I actually think he's good.
24:56Big Cat:But you could have said the same thing when Darnold was on the Niners.
24:59PFT Commenter:Yeah, but although Malik Willis, he wasn't a first-round pick, was he? I think he was. No, I don't think so. No, I don't think he was. Yeah. I feel like it's got to be a first-round pick, don't you think? He was a third-round pick. Yeah, Kenny Pickett.
25:12Big Cat:Kenny Pickett, maybe. Kenny Pickett. Well, he's going back and forth. Max says no. Malik Willis was number one. Trey Lance, no. And then I also thought to myself, yeah, what if Deshaun's good again? And then Anthony Rich, I don't know. Maybe, probably not. Probably not Anthony Richardson. Will Levis. But you got to think about it. Will Levis. Will Levis. Yeah. Not a first-round pick, but still.
25:35PFT Commenter:Chance.
25:36Big Cat:He was a first-year starter.
25:37PFT Commenter:Pete Prisco thinks Will Levis is the best quarterback in the NFL. He said that on the record.
25:43Big Cat:Also, Sam Darnold's grandfather being named Dick Hammer needs more discussion. Always great. Dick Hammer. And he was the Marlboro man.
25:50PFT Commenter:Yeah. Okay. Let's do DraftKings real quick, and then we'll talk some other stuff and then do hot seat, cool throw. The springtime thaw is finally here. Flowers are blooming. 27:33PFT Commenter:Stop me if you heard this before, but James Harden wants to be traded. That's the big news going right now. So the NBA trade deadline, we're recording this early in the morning. If there is a trade of substantial, what did we say? What was the? I said five-time All-Star. Five-time All-Star. We are going to do an emergency insert, and it will happen right here. Okay, we are breaking moves. We recorded most of the show at 8 a.m. And we said we will place trades in this part of the show if it happens. And we do have some trades. Max, we're going to go to our NBA insider desk, Max Delente. He's got all the trade details.
28:16Which one would you like me to call?
28:18Big Cat:All of them. Give me all the trades, Max. All right. We're going to go in chronological order here. Newsmax. Most recent? Nope. Okay. Least recent. Okay. And we're going to start with the biggest one of the day. I'd agree with this. It is going to be the Memphis Grizzlies are trading star forward Jaron Jackson Jr., John Conchar, Jock Landell, and Vince William Jr. to the Utah Jazz for Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, George Niang, and three future first-round picks. Wow.
28:56PFT Commenter:Whoa.
28:57Big Cat:A lot of picks. A lot of picks. A lot of picks. Whoa.
28:59PFT Commenter:And Niang. And Niang, the mini-Vang. So the Grizzlies are just blowing everything up, which they should. That's really all that is. So what happens with Ja now? Ja, it's his team. Finally. They're going to build around Ja. Mount Zion. We are going to have Ursula on next week to do an NBA preview. This is our reaction to trades that we don't know anything about. You know what this tells me?
29:24Big Cat:People love this trade for the Jazz I'm seeing on Twitter.
29:27PFT Commenter:Oh, okay. This tells me John needs to step up. Yeah, big time. Well, I mean, Jaren Jackson's like an elite, elite defender. So, yeah, good trade, Jazz. And also good trade, Grizzlies.
29:41Big Cat:Win-win. Okay. Okay. Justin two hours ago from Shams Chicago Minnesota and Detroit have agreed to a multi term deal a multi team deal fuck a multi team deal that sends Jaden Ivey and Mike Conley Jr. to the Bulls Kevin Herter and Dario Saric to the Pistons and Detroit also receives a 2026 first round protected swap from Minnesota
30:10PFT Commenter:you want my instant reactions in chronological order of the thoughts that went through my head okay number one cool because Titus is good friends with Mike Conley so he'll probably come to the office number two Kevin Herter his agent played pickup basketball with us on Friday and he was like I'm finally settling into Chicago this is awesome not awesome anymore for you dude but good hooper cool guy uh number three this feels like the timberwolves are moving money around to maybe go for yannis number four this is a patented ak bulls move where he and i can't in i can't be a hypocrite here because i also subscribe to this theory he sees a guy like jay nivy who was uh the fifth pick overall a few years ago he got hurt last year remember that terrible injury he hasn't been really the same Missed a ton of time.
31:03PFT Commenter:Hasn't been the same this year. He's like, but he was the fifth pick, so he's got to be good. I agree with that, even though this probably doesn't do anything for the Bulls. He was a really good player in college. Yeah. Excellent player. But if you're a lottery pick, you're a lottery pick forever in my mind, so I understand his reasoning. I don't know if my reasoning should also be the general manager of the Bulls' reasoning, but that's for a different day. Kevin White.
31:24Big Cat:Bring back Darko.
31:25PFT Commenter:Yeah, it's Kevin White. Yeah, it's Kevin White. Kevin White. Kevin White still's got it. But, yeah, no, the Bulls did a lot of lateral moves, build the whole team out of guards. I think they have one big man right now.
31:34Big Cat:Well, they have one more trade. Yeah. Breaking the Chicago Bulls are trading center Nikola Vucevic and a second round pick to the Boston Celtics for Anthony Simmons and a second round pick. My insight on this is, Hank, you might have been there. We're playing golf. Remember that? Like two years ago in Chicago. Oh, yeah.
31:53PFT Commenter:This is shit you won't get anywhere else.
31:54Big Cat:Hank and I were playing golf with Johnny Fish. Yep. And the name of that course is? Medina. Medina and Vucevic was there the day that he signed a contract, I think, with the Bulls. I feel bad for him. He's probably not going to be able to play Medina anymore. Ah. Yeah, this was – I like this trade. I was happy with this trade. Well, Vuce – It also means Jason Tatum's coming back.
32:15PFT Commenter:They were trying to trade Vuce for a while. It was a bad trade the first time. Then they gave him money. He's a flawed player. He's not a bad player. He's just a flawed player because he's not great defensively.
32:29Big Cat:I think he's an upgrade for center for us. Okay. And it gets us under the apron.
32:33PFT Commenter:And it does feel like a solid that AK's doing for Vooch, where he's like, hey, I'm going to trade you to a good team and keep going with the let's get a bunch of guards. And also, I think Jaden Ivey and is Anthony Simmons a restricted free agent after this year? Yeah. So is Jaden Ivey. So he's basically doing kind of like the Josh Giddey, let's get him for a certain amount of time, and then we'll have to figure it out. I don't know. The Bulls stink.
32:56Big Cat:So Hank, you think that this is a clear sign that Tatum's coming back? Yeah. This year? Yeah. Because if Tatum was back, those are minutes like Simmons has been playing. But if Tatum was back, those minutes are gone. Got it.
33:07PFT Commenter:Also a sign that probably Ayo and Kobe White are going to be moved. And they might, when you're listening to this, they might have already been traded. I think I'm actually happy that the Bulls aren't. I wish they would get a first-round pick here or there. They're basically allergic to trading for first-round picks. but this doesn't it's thankfully not like a stupid oh we're all in for making the play in situation it's more lateral moves take a shot at a guy like Jaden Ivey maybe he returns to form and hope it works out that's what AK loves to do he loves to get guys that are still young and maybe haven't played well or been injured and it's like hey maybe they're still good like I said the lottery pick
33:51Big Cat:the Bulls are right now are they on track to make the play-in?
33:54PFT Commenter:They are. They swap back and forth to 9th and 10th. Right where they should be, always. They're always in the 9-10 range. I think there's actually, I think coming up in the schedule, we play the Heat. Like, I think we, did we play the Heat last night? I think we play the Heat maybe tonight. We play the Heat like two times in three days, and it's basically the play-in to the play-in. I love that. Yeah. Market as such. Yeah, exactly. T-shirt. These two teams don't like each other. They'll be playing in the play-in soon. Yeah, so that's it. We have anything else?
34:24Big Cat:Shams say anything? Shams. Yeah. I mean, he's saying right now the Warriors have involved Draymond Green. Actively active talks going on right now between the Warriors and the Bucs.
34:36PFT Commenter:Oh, so when you listen to the Draymond Green interview, it's going to be. We did. We played. We played the we played the heat two nights ago and then like three nights ago. So that was the plan. Oh, we played him three times in a week. That was the plan to the plan. and we the bulls lost two to one so we lost the plan to the plan the way that steve kerr is
34:59Big Cat:talking about this makes it seem like draymond's gone he said i think what's really tricky for draymond is this is the only place he's ever known he's going to have a statue outside the building someday oh he's never been through this and it's definitely been on his mind i don't think
35:13PFT Commenter:you talk you don't do statue talk unless it's serious so the good news is we you're about to listen to the draymond interview which again was incredible we will go through all the the emotions so we actually will be breaking the news if he gets traded i hope he doesn't get traded till thursday so people can see the breaking news of him uh reacting to all the trades yeah potentially we did do that gets traded like the exact second we released this yeah because then people would have to run for instant reaction i hope he doesn't get traded i hope he doesn't
35:41Big Cat:get traded i don't think he wants to get there's gonna be a statue of him outside one day yeah
35:45PFT Commenter:But we get into it.
35:46Big Cat:We get into all of that. I hope it's of him kicking Steve Adams in the dick. That'd be an awesome statue. It's just the dick and then Draymond?
35:52PFT Commenter:Yeah.
35:52Big Cat:Yeah, that'd be great.
35:53PFT Commenter:Okay, that was NBA trade deadline from some guys that love ball. Hoop. We love the hoop. Ball is life. Oh, look at that. Hold it. Hold it. Hold it. Hold it. Oh. Got it. Max. Beautiful. All right, let's kick it back to ourselves. The real story is Giannis and then James Harden, weirdly, so atypical for him, has quit on a team. I won't believe it until he gets fat. Did you see the Ty Lue? They went and played the Suns, and James Harden just stayed in Arizona. And Ty Lue was asked, and he was just like, I don't really know. He just stayed in Arizona. He went to an Arizona State-Arizona basketball game, and I think he just missed two games, and he just quit yet again.
36:38Big Cat:The NBA is so weird. It's so weird when it comes to that. The players can just do whatever they want.
36:44PFT Commenter:Yeah. James Harden is, I'll say this about James Harden, he is maybe first ballot Hall of Fame, I got to take care of me first guy. Wouldn't you say? Yeah, he's right. He's always like, hey, what can I do for James Harden?
36:58Big Cat:James Harden has actually done life pretty good. Really good, I would say. How much money do you think James Harden has made? Probably like$450 million. Yeah, and I'd say like 25 % of that is when he's just like not working.
37:14PFT Commenter:Do you remember when James Harden just called Daryl Morey a liar in front of a bunch of Chinese elementary school kids? Yeah, got him. That was weird. Nailed it. $411 million. Wow. Good for him. Yeah. But he's got no home. Because he always wants to go. Maybe he just has some type of anxiety where he can't. He's got like restless. He can't stay in one place for too long. That's all it is.
37:39Big Cat:I mean, if he's in Cleveland, that's going to be a problem. Yeah. Like LA.
37:43PFT Commenter:I can't wait because James Harden will go to Cleveland. If he goes to Cleveland, he'll go to Cleveland. He'll be decent. They'll get in the playoffs. He'll have like a game one or two where he goes off and everyone will be like, bam, that's why you trade for James Harden. And then he'll choke.
38:00Big Cat:I hope he's in the playoffs. He's not my problem anymore. Would you have him back, Max? You want him back. Depends on what we gave up. We have the Clippers 2028 unprotected, which is gold. That's juicy. So I would not give that back for James Harden. You would not give a pick for James Harden? No. I would not give the Clippers 2028 unprotected. That team is going this way. Down. Down.
38:31PFT Commenter:This way. This way. Okay, what else is going on in the sports? Matt Nagy got hired by the Giants. Yep. Good for him, I guess.
38:39Big Cat:I did see, I think this was through Media Night. There was a little nugget about Stefan Diggs. Hank, did you see this? Say it. I'll tell you. Okay. So we're back.
38:53PFT Commenter:So Vrabel. That was our quick intermission where we talked about James Harden for two minutes. Now back to our regular scheduled programming of PFT versus Hank. It's football season.
39:04Big Cat:I actually This is a good story We're on the same side So Diggs is Diggs is usually late On Friday mornings To the team meetings And they asked Vrabel about it And he said Yeah every Friday Little buddy's gotta go Take a poop So he misses every That's like you Before the show Yeah yeah He's like a half hour late To every single Friday meeting Cause he's pooping I thought that was cool Yeah Yeah you can relate to that Yeah I also did The other nugget I saw From Media Day Was just like how bad cam newton has has ruined his relationship with drake may and like the patriots well and me
39:40PFT Commenter:cam newton is like i feel like everything i see from him it's never really good stuff uh and he hasn't done anything wrong so it's a very funny watch where you're like he hasn't done anything that he's like a bad guy he's not a bad guy but he's just been so wrong on his takes and his takes have been so out of touch that everyone has soured on him.
40:01Big Cat:And he's talked so much shit, and it's like Drake May is from Carolina, like grew up, Cam Newton's his favorite player. He used to talk about that all the time. And then it's like he got asked in media days, like you could see the wheels in motion where he's like, oh, yeah, my favorite player growing up, like Aaron Rodgers. Like he just completely, like he's never going to acknowledge Cam Newton. And rightfully so. Like Cam Newton's talked so much trash, even though you would think, you know, he would embrace him more.
40:23PFT Commenter:Right. How did Drake's shoulder look?
40:26Big Cat:Great.
40:27PFT Commenter:You watched?
40:28Big Cat:I watched some clips.
40:30PFT Commenter:And?
40:30Big Cat:Looks great.
40:31PFT Commenter:Dr.
40:32Big Cat:Hank? Zolak put it to bed. I'm not going to spoil the interview, but you can tell the body language. You said he saw him before, and he's good to go.
40:43PFT Commenter:Okay.
40:44Big Cat:Did he not?
40:45PFT Commenter:Yeah, he did. I was just asking if you saw any other clips, if you're watching it, like a hawk.
40:50Big Cat:Do you think Zolak has any bias? No. Good question. I think Zolak knows. Got it. he's there qb's no qb's what if zolak had said he's worried about drake may's shoulder would you then be worried then not have to probably turn on dr hank you guys are trying to make a
41:08PFT Commenter:story out of something that's not a story dr hank i want to i want i don't i don't give a fuck about drake may's shoulder i just want to turn on dr hank i just want hank to do a little
41:17Big Cat:reading i don't know what that means yeah i don't know what that means if he did listen tom brady He was listed on the injury report for what, Hank? Like six years in a row with a bad shoulder? Yep. This is fine. Everyone's dinged up this time of year. Not a problem. Correct.
41:32PFT Commenter:Yeah. Lockstep. Lockstep. I don't know if you heard, but he's got a big bet on the Patriots. Let's go. Go pass.
41:38Big Cat:You should get the ticket printed on his shirt. Defend the wall. King of the North. Fuck yeah. Did you know that Drake May has faced every defender on the AFC Pro Bowl roster this year? He played against every single one of those guys. Wow. And they're still trying to talk about the schedule. that's a great stat yeah thank you is it is the pro bowl roster how many of those guys are backup pro bowlers no this is it's a good good list of names really good pro bowl's pro bowl's pro bowl and listen you guys can say what you want about drake may and his shoulder being hurt and the schedule that we had that was so easy this year and how every single quarterback we played in the playoffs sucked ass but it doesn't change the fact that drake may doesn't play against quarterbacks.
42:20Big Cat:He plays against defenses.
42:25Big Cat:Yeah, whatever you want to say. No, you flip-flop. You just flip-flop. You disagree? You just flip-flop and lie on your takes.
42:30PFT Commenter:You're like, oh, steady, steady, steady, steady, steady, steady.
42:34Big Cat:That's before I had a bet on our Patriots. That's before we understood that he had a tail. Yeah, good point. I'm trying to give you good stats. I'm excited for the good. I'm giving Hank good stats, and he just doesn't know what to do with them. I just can't wait for PFT to be gone. He doesn't know what to do with them. And I'm just my Patriots friends.
42:53PFT Commenter:And we're you guys were you guys were so such good friends.
42:56Big Cat:I asked Dave for a ticket. I already did. I asked him if I could get a ticket to the game. He said, I've been keeping an eye on you.
43:04PFT Commenter:What?
43:05Big Cat:Actually, no, I will ask him today. I'll ask him on the act.
43:08PFT Commenter:You're going to you're going to regret like when PFT and everyone else leaves. You're going to regret not having someone walk around talking about the bet. No. yeah you're gonna miss that there's gonna be a moment on saturday where you're like you hear an echo and you're like oh my god was that someone saying something about a 40 grand bet yeah and and it won't be yeah you won't be here i'm gonna miss this friendship that we've had this
43:32Big Cat:week with the start of the week was great i'm i'm very excited to start betting some props i think by the way what we should i love mine by the way i had to put them in on sunday before i left so here's looking at them all week they're great here's what i think we should do i should
43:46PFT Commenter:Should we do five prop bets each or seven prop bets each? Maybe five each on Friday. And I think what we should do is the difference that you have wins and losses is like a mandatory hour you have to do with Zach. So if you go three and two, you don't have to do any. If you go two and three, you have to do one hour. Mandatory. You like that?
44:04Big Cat:I only have five. I'm already – I already have 18.
44:08PFT Commenter:So we'll have to add hours. And Zach also has to add hours. We cannot add hours. Yes, he does. What is he up to? What is he, 36? the worst you could do is add five if you go over five you add five hours okay like the chance of him going over five okay so so everyone will do it and that's like we're all going to be can i subtract hours yes that's what i'm saying if you go three if zach goes if zach goes five and oh he now has to do 31 hours so what's the minimum for the uh for the odds on the props i think it has to be like somewhere in the you know minus 130 to oh okay 130 yeah no it doesn't have to be i got bombs oh you can do bombs but then you might have to do mandatory hours that's fine i mean i i my bets are in oh okay hank i got a question for you better so we'll do that friday i think that will be good for friday's show and it's it's not like a substantial swing and we're all going to be part of the stream anyway but i'm saying like if i go oh and five i have to mandatory be five hours in a row you know what i mean five hours no i agree the difference between zero and five is so much but what if you go five and oh now you only have 13 hours should have picked better games should have picked oh no that was actually that's i started to parrot it and then i remembered that you and i max were incredible yeah that yeah yeah you should
45:21Big Cat:have done a little bit better a little bit worse max yeah i got a question for you about our patriots yeah we're just he's exhausted we just keep going back we start talking about something else max your loser eagles aren't playing in the super bowl our our winner patriots are my bad so We're going to talk about the Patriots this week. That's okay. You either would have brought up the Eagles. Okay. So Robert Kraft not getting in the Hall of Fame. Bill Belichick not getting in the Hall of Fame first ballot. Is there any chance at all, any chance remotely, because the voters have shown true vengeance against New England, is there any chance at all that Tom Brady is not a first ballot Hall of Famer because of this group, this cabal of voters that is keeping the Patriots out?
46:04Big Cat:Yes. A hundred percent.
46:06PFT Commenter:I think he's the only one who it's not.
46:09Big Cat:I watched the 30 for 30 on the Four Falls Buffalo was on TV last night, and I watched it before bed. Bill Pullian is the biggest loser of all time, of all time. He was talking about those teams like they won. He was like the greatest teams of all time. They lost every Super Bowl. He's the biggest hater and biggest loser of all time. So, yes, I do think there's a chance. I was watching him just getting mad, being like, this guy has done nothing. I don't think he's won nothing.
46:34PFT Commenter:PFT, I don't think there's a chance.
46:36Big Cat:They went to the Colts and barely won.
46:37PFT Commenter:Because of what just happened with Belichick. Because of the backlash. If they do it again, it's basically like fold up the pro football Hall of Fame.
46:45Big Cat:If Brady was in this class, then I could see all three of them, they don't get in first ballot. But because of what happened this year when it's time for Brady, he should. I mean, obviously Tom Brady should be a first ballot Hall of Famer. Now I'm just looking at it sideways. I don't know what these guys are capable of. yeah you got suspended for deflacate they won the game by a hundred right i have a question is there a little part of you that hopes that he's not first ballot because you patriots fan love this though we do wrong yes you do you love you love being disrespected oh you yes wrong yes wrong wrong if there's two respect if there's two things i don't want to be I don't know.
47:31PFT Commenter:If there's two things I know about you, Hank, you love being disrespected and hearing about PFT's$40 ,000 bet.
47:39Big Cat:Shit, over two. I want respect, and I want my money when my bet hits.
47:45PFT Commenter:You'll get your money. Okay. I think that was good. When we get to Hot Seat Cool Tron, we'll get back into this somehow. Yeah. No, no. We're done. Hot Seat Cool Tron. 48:46Big Cat:My hot seat, Cool Throne, is, or my hot seat is Kawhi Leonard.
48:50PFT Commenter:Mm-hmm.
48:52Big Cat:Wendy's back again. he quite under is having one of the best seasons of his career played the amount of games he needed to play to be an all-star and has been snubbed as an all-star reserve brian windhorse thinks it's back to the the scandal from earlier in the year the tree scandal yeah how like this is this is payback ah okay for trees never forget yeah okay the whole thing that story kind of just went away Are the voters trees? I think it's the NBA. Oh. What do you mean the NBA? Like they. Who votes? Who votes for the All-Star game?
49:32PFT Commenter:Hmm. This is a tough question.
49:34Big Cat:We got to get to the bottom of this. Dr. Hank would not know this.
49:37PFT Commenter:Dr. Hank would know what's going on with Kawhi Willenner at all times. Is it the players?
49:42Big Cat:I don't think it's the players. I think it's the coaches.
49:45PFT Commenter:Okay.
49:46Big Cat:But the NBA could have just told the coaches, no, no, no.
49:49PFT Commenter:No, no, no. NBA All-Stars starters are chosen by a weighted vote from fans, 50%. Current players, 25%. No, this is reserves. I'm getting to it. And media, 25%, while reserves are selected by a vote of NBA head coaches with both groups choosing players without regard to position in the current format. So, yeah.
50:09Big Cat:Yeah. So, yeah, they could be jealous. The coaches are mad. No, I think it's NBA has not told the coaches.
50:15PFT Commenter:They told the coaches.
50:16Big Cat:Or they just pulled his name out of the results.
50:19PFT Commenter:And the NBA does such weird stuff with, like, at the end of the season voting, the, like, all pro stuff and how you, like, it changes millions of dollars for these guys. Huge, huge money. It makes no sense. But, yeah, good theory. So that's what, Wendy's theory or your theory? Wendy's theory. I love that. I mean, Wendy knows.
50:41Big Cat:I also, I read that, then I read about the James Harden thing, and I was wondering if they're, you know, if the Clippers players feel like this team is getting screwed by the NBA and it's time to get out.
50:50PFT Commenter:Ah. The walls are closing. Ah. Time to bounce. Now I like that theory where it's like you can't play for the Clippers because they're just going to, they're never going to forget about the trees.
50:59Big Cat:I think James Harden is more likely jealous that he didn't get a tree deal. Yeah. It also could be true. You think, what, am I, chopped liver over here? Yes. I love getting paid to not work, and you didn't think to kick something like that in over to me?
51:10PFT Commenter:Mm-hmm. a lot a lot to think about yep good job hank thank you uh my cool throne i had i had international
51:17Big Cat:nfl and nfl referees i guess i guess pga tour you can put them on the cool throne live seems to be just spontaneously combusting that's weird so it's a players are players are
51:27PFT Commenter:mad about the 72 holes it's a league so hold on let me just follow this so you're a diehard live fan uh it's a league that like tried to expand too fast internationally and you just loved it loved it loved it now you're jumping ship i'm not jumping ship oh because you said i've heard you mumbling around like live is cooked live is cooked live is cooked i'm not jumping i listen
51:53Big Cat:i'll be on a ship and it's burning i'm not getting off it okay i can acknowledge that it's the ship so name the four aces i don't know who i don't know who they replaced patrick with i don't know
52:04PFT Commenter:that they have so you so you don't you you aren't a live fan i am a live fan what do you mean you can't name the four aces i don't know if they've announced a replacement for patrick reed so okay have you watched any live golf it's the it's the first opening week this week are you
52:20Big Cat:going to be watching uh it's like in radia and it's at night i don't know he'll be watching
52:26PFT Commenter:oh it's weird time zones because it's international yeah grow the game oh uh it is miguel tabuena
52:33Big Cat:So they did. So you are a live fan. You are a live fan. Who are the four aces now? I'll give you Miguel Tabuena. Dustin Johnson, Thomas Dietry, and it's another fucking... So you couldn't even get three of the aces. You got another one. I do know the other one. I don't know the other one. Also Thomas. Is it Peters? Thomas Peters. Thomas Peters. I know Live Golf better than you. Brooks Koepka was like, we didn't sign up for 72. This is bullshit. So did active live players are saying that. I'd be pissed too. Paul Casey.
53:07PFT Commenter:They signed up to get paid way more money to play way less golf. Yep. And now they're getting screwed.
53:16Big Cat:Yeah. So, yeah. Again, I'm on the ship until it sinks. But we're taking water.
53:25PFT Commenter:Yeah. Big time. Big time taking water. Okay, PFT, your hot seat, Cool Trone.
53:30Big Cat:My hot seat is earthquakes.
53:32PFT Commenter:Yeah.
53:33Big Cat:Because we got a taste of California earthquakes on, was that Sunday morning? Monday morning. Monday morning. Didn't feel it. Yeah, we woke up. So I farted and I woke up, but it also might have been an earthquake. I'm not sure. I woke up to some vibration in my bed and then I went right back to sleep. Then I woke up later and it was like, oh, that might not have been a fart. That might have been an earthquake.
53:52PFT Commenter:It was not close to us, the epicenter. Yeah. So I would like to feel a little bit of an earthquake. Just a tiny bit. We talked about it right when we got here.
54:04Big Cat:This PFT had a crazy, crazy take.
54:07PFT Commenter:Oh, probably not as crazy as I screwed up yesterday, and I said I want an 8.2, and then we looked up 8.2s, and it was catastrophic.
54:15Big Cat:That's pretty much my take.
54:17PFT Commenter:Like 200 ,000 people minimum died in 8.2.
54:21Big Cat:That's pretty much my take. We were standing on the banks of the bay. We were looking out over the Golden Gate Bridge, which is beautiful by the way and uh i said it'd be kind of cool like if if there's going to be the big one while we're out here if it's going to happen anyways it'd be kind of cool if it happened right now so we could see the bridge like swaying back and forth and then hank was like you're insane man that's crazy no yeah i was like we're on a cliff that could just slide into the ocean you'd survive there's no sharks in there hank i don't think i understand earthquakes okay let's let's unpack that tectonic plates i know that you can't put food on they move against each other slide
54:55PFT Commenter:into they're going up like this like that and they and they rumble so a cliff could just slide
55:01Big Cat:into the well no so the ground underneath like underneath hits each other and it shakes and that makes everything above it move i'm gonna have to do some independent research i would love to see
55:12PFT Commenter:your findings on this but yeah i i take back uh 8.2 definitely don't want to 8.2 yeah i think i would like another i would like another 4.1 or whatever it was monday just maybe a little bit closer so i can feel it a little bit a five what about a five i actually my real my real wish because we got in in the car uh from the airport memes is in the car and i was saying i wanted to feel a little earthquake and brandon started freaking out and i was like wouldn't it be funny if we had like a 3.5 earthquake and there was just one death it was brandon from anxiety heart so the actual earthquake didn't kill him heart attack yeah would be funny you'd laugh yeah Yeah, I mean, we would be sad, but we would also laugh.
55:56Big Cat:But Hank, my whole point was, if it's going to happen, why not have it happen when we're able to watch it from the coolest possible standpoint? If it wasn't a cliff overlooking the ocean. Yeah, what a way to go. What a way to go. Yeah, but also, PFT, you don't want this right before your big bet. I know. What if they had to delay the Super Bowl? I know. So my cool throne is the Patriots, because guess what? But after this game, the Patriots will have played in 20 % of all Super Bowls. Wow. How about that?
56:28PFT Commenter:It's awesome, man. Hank has opted out. He has opted out entirely. He has unsubscribed from this email.
56:36Big Cat:We'll be back on Thursday. Don't worry. My other cool throne is shields. Oh. I got shields on the cool throne. The commanders have soft launched a new logo. Oh. which has everybody in dc very excited because there's a shield and now there's spears on it so it's not just that stupid w that we have anymore we got we got a shield now this is something that that's pretty cool this is something that a loser franchise would really care about well winter franchises are playing in the super bowl but the shield is it makes the w
57:06PFT Commenter:better we have a few new logos kind of hovering around the falcons and then i think the titans
57:10Big Cat:too yeah yeah where did where did the titans get rid of the fire though i don't know there's a guy That's a bad move. I apologize because I don't know his actual Twitter account.
57:19PFT Commenter:Sorry about this, but I'm shouting you out. There's a guy who's been on this for, like, months, and he's basically been picking up clues, being like, I think the Titans are going to change everything. There's, like, a whole thing that happens before. I think the Rams are also changing their logo because they put all of the jerseys on sale in the NFL shop right before they change it, and the Titans have done that. and the new stadium and he's like there's some renderings with some new stuff I think it might just be the sword which would be cool so yeah this is
57:51Big Cat:what many are speculating to be that's a pretty cool logo the new commander's logo that's pretty cool look at that shield Hank what do you think that's pretty damn cool it looks like I don't know protect the shield little evil yeah good good you like the spears kind of looks like oh I actually like it looks like a Star Wars like vibe that's cool yeah yeah cool cool cool that's cool So this is, yeah, this is very exciting times.
58:14PFT Commenter:All right. My hot seat is, I have two. One is that rat fuck Punxsutawney Phil. He said six more weeks of winter. I hate that fucking hedgehog, whatever he is.
58:25Big Cat:Do you have the Phil stat for our Patriots? I don't have that. Five out of the six times we won a Super Bowl. Phil has seen his shadow, so. Oh. Oh, awesome. Let's go. Me and Hank are still back.
58:39PFT Commenter:Oh, for people who aren't watching, they just did a fist bump and hank had a full cup of hot coffee and spilled it all over himself he just knocked it all over how am i to blame for that you just fist bumped me with a cup of coffee
58:52Big Cat:this is so cold that's my fault too that's my yeah that i said that i think that we should put
58:57PFT Commenter:anytime phil does this to us we should put him in a crock pot and just get a new phil
59:01Big Cat:yeah i i directly in a crock pot is there uh is there a sad about how frequently he said he sees
59:07PFT Commenter:the shadow i don't know it feels like he does it every year yeah it's fucking loser so wait hank
59:11Big Cat:what's the set every time he sees his shadow the patriots win five out of six times five out of six
59:18PFT Commenter:five out of six times they've won they've he's seen his shadow they've won correct and when was the last one that what was the one uh yeah we've really gotten deep in these stats he's looking for
59:34Big Cat:it he's looking for it filibuster last time was 2017 so he didn't in 2019 so most recent okay got it okay what about 2002 2004 2005 2015 2017 what happened in 2018 against the birds i don't know
59:49PFT Commenter:what happened when you lost the super bowl that's what i'm saying oh okay let's see i'm gonna seems like a when you come with your stats come with them a little bit better no this is what you
59:57Big Cat:always do like i gave a stat and you just literally dive in we don't we ask wait you You haven't researched and done a bibliography on your stat? Like, what the fuck? Bibliography. MLA. Well, I mean, when PFT comes to stats, he comes to stats. I worry about wins. Okay. But I got a real stat. Okay, here we go. It's not data. It's a fucking stupid ground. All right, PFT, you got it? 2018, more winter. He saw his shadow. And then the Patriots lost. What happened? 2018, they lost to the Eagles. Nick Foles. Thank you. Thank you, PFT. We're adding context. This is what good stats do. Yeah, yeah. They inspire us to do more research and add more context.
1:00:39PFT Commenter:My other hot seat is I went to the diner this morning. What do you guys order when you're by yourself at a diner? Because I feel like I might be a little too aggressive with my order. What do you order if you sit down at a diner by yourself? We're talking breakfast? Breakfast.
1:00:55Big Cat:I'll go like a traditional, like two eggs, hash browns, side of bacon or sausage, and then sometimes I'll do like a pancake.
1:01:04PFT Commenter:Okay.
1:01:05Big Cat:Pancakes, eggs, bacon. Oh, so I'm not that far off. Yesterday I did pancakes, oatmeal, bacon. Today I did, and PFT came over and was like, this is all for you. Today I did a yogurt parfait. Well, you had the pancakes sitting in front of the other chair at the table, so I didn't know if somebody else was with you.
1:01:22PFT Commenter:I did a yogurt parfait, two eggs, bacon, potatoes, waffle. Yeah, it's a pretty good order.
1:01:29Big Cat:You do, well, you do the table cakes for yourself.
1:01:32PFT Commenter:Right, yes. But then I also added the yogurt parfait, which was probably aggressive. I realized as it came out, it all came out at the same time. You need the yogurt parfait as an appetizer. You need it to, like, cool you down. It cools my body temperature. Well, I kind of mix it in. Okay. Because I get overheated as I go. Okay. And then I like to cool it down. It's like a nuclear reactor. You got to keep the rods nice and cool. And then my cool throne is Lindsey Vonn, who I didn't even know she was still skiing. Yeah, she is. I assumed because she was skiing, she probably crashed, which she did.
1:02:05PFT Commenter:She tore her ACL, but she's still going to compete. Beast. Fucking beast.
1:02:10Big Cat:Yeah. I saw she tore her ACL. I thought that was it. Yeah, I was going to say that's a crazy cool thern if she just tore her ACL. How could one possibly compete? John Elway played his entire career with a torn ACL.
1:02:20PFT Commenter:I feel like skiing is. Is it bad that I didn't know Lindsey Vonn was back until she crashed? I also didn't know. The first time I knew that she was back was Lindsey Vonn crashes. It's like, oh, that makes sense.
1:02:33Big Cat:Yeah, but I feel like she crashes a lot. She's torn both ACLs before. So this is the second time she's tearing one of them. I hope she wins. That'd be awesome if she won with one ACL.
1:02:43PFT Commenter:My prediction? Crash. Another crash. Yeah, I think she's going to probably crash. Okay, Max, because Zach's not here. But we can feel him because we're all sick.
1:02:53Big Cat:Yeah, no, we're not going to get sick. I don't feel well. No, if we just say that we're not going to get sick, we're not going to get sick. My hot seat is Caitlin Clark. Oh. Why? Because she was on some halftime show with Reggie Miller and Reggie Miller. What halftime show? Please do your research.
1:03:20He got you there.
1:03:21Big Cat:I don't know. Who's NBC? What? Was it maybe a basketball halftime show? It was NBC. Was it halftime? I don't even know if it was halftime. It was halftime. Okay. Well, they were talking about who. They were talking about, they asked Reggie Miller, what game does Caitlin Clark remind him of? And he said Peyton Pritchard, and she was not happy. No, she was not happy. She was not happy. That's disrespectful. Peyton Pritchard is a great player. I think Steph Curry would have been. Steph Curry. I think she was hoping for Steph Curry. Yeah.
1:03:53PFT Commenter:I also like that Hank has raised the bar of this podcast where you better come correct your stories facts everything well with boss and related excellence
1:04:01Big Cat:no you demand excellence from just me and now i'm demanding it from everyone else okay great credit
1:04:07PFT Commenter:to you well i mean i don't have to demand excellence from pft because he's excellent
1:04:11Big Cat:i think i got a question for you do you think that um like could that be a compliment because pain pritchard is known for him those long shots at the end of quarters Peyton Pritchard is awesome Awesome player Yeah he is It's good motivation for PP I'm happy I saw People are disrespecting him No no no He's motivation for Caitlin Clark No he's been catching ricochets Left and right Being like Peyton Pritchard's a bum How dare you compare him to him And so that's gonna fuel him
1:04:38PFT Commenter:Well I think the fairness is that Caitlin Clark is the best player in the WNBA Or if not the best Top five She's changing the game I don't know if Peyton Pritchard's a top five NBA player I saw a tweet today that said there's a non-zero chance that they're just never going to play WNBA again. I thought that was interesting.
1:04:55Big Cat:What's going on? There's going to be a lockout? Oh. Yeah. Well, that 3v3 thing that I didn't even know existed, but you didn't know. Explain more. If you know a lot about it, explain more. Go ahead. Two former players started a three-on-three league in the offseason so that the players don't have to travel to Europe and they can still play and get paid, and they've been selling out arenas. It's doing really well.
1:05:19PFT Commenter:Wow. That was pretty good. He got you. That was pretty good. We're in a dangerous territory. We might have to put our guns down because I'm scared of Hank. Hank's style. Hank's demanding excellence from us. I don't know if we can reach that bar.
1:05:34Big Cat:Your cool throne? Cool throne will be Bad Bonny. Oh, Bad Bonny. Bad Bonny. The Grammys happened on Sunday. Didn't really know that that was happening until we got into the editing room. I boycotted because there's no podcasting category. And I also forgot that the Grammys were on.
1:05:51PFT Commenter:Yep. Did you? Yeah, there was a there was I think it was on The Athletic. They like asked a bunch of players in the in the Super Bowl if they like Bad Bunny. Everyone's like, I don't think that we should have this guy doing the Super Bowl. It's like, OK, why? And who cares? I don't care about the Super Bowl halftime show. No, I'm just going to say it right now. Not at all. My Super Bowl halftime show is Ben Mintz.
1:06:13Big Cat:yeah my Super Bowl halftime show is also like taking a poop yeah
1:06:17PFT Commenter:seeing what live bets I can make going to the spread right eating food like is it okay to just say I'm gonna say it the Super Bowl halftime show is for chicks
1:06:33Big Cat:it's great when you're there the Lady Gaga performance in Houston is one of the best live performances I've ever seen and I became a huge Lady Gaga fan.
1:06:45PFT Commenter:Okay, so then I take it back. And I'm not saying that women can't... But for chicks and people in the stadium. Women also love football, but for the... That bunny has some bangers. For the majority of people, I don't think the average NFL fan is like, man, I hope this Super Bowl halftime show is awesome.
1:06:59Big Cat:No.
1:07:00PFT Commenter:I don't give a fuck.
1:07:02Big Cat:The Katy Perry one in Arizona was pretty cool. She came out on that Tiger. Yeah, left shark.
1:07:07PFT Commenter:It's just going to be a bunch of people complaining about it anyway. We already know how this is going to go.
1:07:10Big Cat:Yeah. the janet jackson may have been my first boob that i saw first boob first boob ever wow could have been that's good new segment brianna was sick what it's gonna happen oh okay um let's get to so
1:07:29PFT Commenter:like i said at the start of the show draymond green we interviewed him on monday we got he hung out with us for like an hour and a half hour and 15 minutes and we were planning on saving it for after the Super Bowl, but it was such a good interview. We're like, we have to run this right now. So there are some times when during the interview, I think we said, we're going to run this in a week. Let's pretend you got traded. We were running it right away because it was that good. And then we have Scott Zolak on the other side of Draymond Green, and then we're going to do guys on Hank. 1:09:30Big Cat:And I, yeah, I do want to pay, pay respect to you as a podcaster. I feel like you take it seriously and you're very good at it. Sometimes it's a little bit unfair what you do, where you have a game and you do something in the game, you get into a fight, get teed up. And I think sometimes you do it just so that you can get the numbers up on the next podcast. When you explain why you did that, which is a genius move. Yeah. Well, you know, and having the platform, sometimes you got to do something to give the platform something to spark it up a little bit yeah so but i take a beating for that though yeah you do but as a podcaster i respect it though i appreciate that you know the podcast world is definitely respected but in every other world yeah i get crushed is it have you noticed any difference like what now that you're
1:10:15PFT Commenter:you're doing it routinely like in the locker room everyone's like oh is he going to talk about this on the podcast or you know because that happens in our like office where anything that gets said can be said on air no i think i have a little bit more discernment than people realize yeah I know what to say and what not to say from the locker room. So I always try to hold that line. I don't try. I always do hold that line. I know how important it is to be on a team. I know the makeups of a team. I've been on a team my whole life. So I always hold that line. The reality is people are dumb as shit.
1:10:53And so because they're dumb as shit, if you say anything, they don't know anything. So if you say anything, they're like, oh my God, this guy's giving all the secrets of the lock. Right, right. When in fact, you're just fucking dumb. And so, you know, that's kind of how it goes. It's true. That's how it goes.
1:11:11Big Cat:Have you ever been like had a clip taken out of context? And when they read just the words that you said without the stuff around it and all that, like it gets misinterpreted? All the time. Yeah. Which also shows you how dumb people are. Yeah. Because you just took this little excerpt that was all of 15 seconds of a five-minute segment. And you ran with it. But you don't know anything around it. And so I find that often. But they say you want to hide something, put it in a book. You want to hide something from these people, you put it on the show. And then you type it up and release it. And they won't see any of it.
1:11:52So I get that often.
1:11:54PFT Commenter:But it's got to feel good, though, being able to control your own message where like, you know, in days past, it's like, all right, well, you got to wait for the postgame or maybe a writer comes up to you. Now you can just say everything that you feel. You know, when I started the podcast, I had no idea that that's what it would do for me. Yeah. And in saying that, that is one of the things I appreciate most about it. It's like, you don't have to go here. You don't have to go there. If you want to know what I think is right here. You know, and also to have that outlet, like there's been times where, you know, I've needed to just get on there and like let it all out.
1:12:28It's hard to do that in a five minute interview, a three minute interview, you know. And so I've, I've, that's what I found as I got into the podcast space. It was almost like a, um, an indirect consequence that not quite a consequence. Yeah. And I appreciate it, but, um, I had no idea that that's what it would do for me.
1:12:50PFT Commenter:Yeah, because, I mean, media narratives, I mean, we run with any narrative. There's a million that have been written about you. I actually had a question about that. So I think both these are probably not true, but if you had to pick one that was more close to the truth, is it you begged KD to come to the Warriors or you ran KD out of town? The one that is closer to the truth is, let's see. Because it is funny how that works. You were responsible for both. Exactly. You begged him to join and then you made him leave. And begging him to join, no one said thank you. Running him out of town, everybody said fuck you.
1:13:29Yeah, exactly. It's kind of a double-edged sword, man. But I would say the one that is probably closest to the truth is I ran him out of town. Oh, okay. Because I'm not begging anyone for anything. Yeah, yeah. I've worked too hard in my life to beg anyone for anything. quite honestly though if we didn't win the year before he was going to leave then so I don't quite know if I ran him out of town but I'll take that one because I'm not begging anymore for anything that's fair
1:14:02Big Cat:I do have one thing that you said on the show that I will take exception to maybe you can tell me if I took it out of context I don't think that I did after Dele cooked your ass in the finals you said Dele stinks he won two games in the NBA finals with Dele you were talking about LeBron I got a lot of, this is actually my favorite quote of all time. I got a lot of respect for Dele. He stinks. I respect him. Completely stinks. Do you respect him? It doesn't sound like you respect him. I have so much respect for Matthew Delvedo. Okay. To come from Australia, go to a small college in St. Mary's, have zero athleticism.
1:14:44You're getting close to the non-respect part again. This is getting close to stinks. He has zero athleticism and yet the man was like guarding the hell out of Steph Curry. Yeah. You know, like that is short will, determination, like grit, a knowledge of the game that people don't give him credit for. Like you can't be that unathletic but that effective if you don't have an extremely high basketball IQ. And so I have a ton of respect for Dele because he's so hard-nosed, but like both things can be true. Like I can have a ton of respect for him and he's stint. and that's just what it is. Like, you know, respect and smelling good doesn't quite go together.
1:15:24He stinks, but I respect him.
1:15:26Big Cat:It's like you're saying that you respect the fact that he's so unathletic that he was able to overcome that and become a good basketball player. Yes. And, like, what did he play? Eight, nine years in the NBA? Yeah. Like, come on, man. That's incredible. He has no athleticism. That is to be respected. But make no mistake about it, he still stinks. Okay. All right. I'm getting closer to understanding what you're saying there, so I'll back off a little bit. I think I have more respect for Dele than you do. No, no, not at all. Is it we're going to get a respect off? Yeah, I have a lot of Dele. I respect Dele so much.
1:16:02No, I got a ton of respect for Dele, man. A ton of respect. Can you do a Dele impression? Yeah, mate. Yeah, that's pretty good. You do respect Dele. I believe you.
1:16:11Big Cat:I believe you.
1:16:12PFT Commenter:You said something there, basketball IQ. do you think that I would argue that you have probably the highest, if not the highest top five basketball IQ right now in the NBA? Do you think like you, I've heard you say that the game is actually slowed down for you on, especially the defensive end where, you know, things are going to happen before they happen. Do you think that's fair to say that you have one of the highest? Yeah, for sure. I think, you know, that's, you know, and speaking of Delhi, I'm not that athletic myself, but that's, what's gotten me by, you know, But it's just knowing more, knowing the game, being able to see things before they happen.
1:16:47I definitely 1 ,000 % have a top five basketball IQ in the NBA for sure. Who else is on there? LeBron's IQ is off the charts. Joker has a very high basketball IQ. Let's go. So I'll say myself, Bron, Joker. No particular order, just throwing out the five. Myself, Bron, Joker.
1:17:15PFT Commenter:Steph's got to be in there. I mean, Chris Paul is still technically in the NBA. He is. Chris Paul is smart as hell. So I got to go with Chris. And then the problem with Steph is, it's not that he doesn't have a basketball IQ. It's that he almost gets dropped down because his shot can get him out of any problem. Right. So when you shoot the ball as well as he does, You don't always have to think your way out of it. You don't have to rely on it, yeah. You can shoot your way out of it. Right. And it's a different thing. So that's the problem with Steph for me. Yeah. It's like he shoot the ball so well that you can just shoot your way out of the problem.
1:17:52You don't necessarily have to always think about the problem. Yeah. But extremely high basketball IQ for sure. The fifth one, I'll have to go with...
1:18:05PFT Commenter:Campaign? Shane? Oh, no way. Luka. Yeah. Okay. Luka's smart as hell. And James Harden. James Harden does not get credit for his basketball IQ, but you cannot run an entire offense like James Harden does, getting everybody to the correct spots. No matter who's on the floor with you. Yeah. And still be able to do that. I think James Harden IQ is very underrated. I had a question about Steph. Jeff, when you've been playing with him for so long, does he have a different look when you know it's going to be one of those nights where it's like, oh, shit, he's going to make everything? 1 ,000%. That has to be the best feeling ever.
1:18:46Absolutely. I'll take it a step further for you. I can see in his run how he takes off running of where he's at. And when he's in that mode, man, it is one of the best feelings ever because you know what it does to a team. Like, they're as incredible as Steph is. I think the thing that stands out to me most about him is, like, any guy in the NBA can get it going. When he gets it going, what it does to a defense is different than anything we've ever seen before. And I think that's one of the most impressive things about it. But I could see it, like, right away.
1:19:27PFT Commenter:Yeah, the gravitational pull where it's like the whole defense is basically focused on just him and then everyone else is open. Absolutely. And, you know, sometimes even for him, like the defense is so keyed on him that it's even just hard for him to get the pass out. Right. You got four or five guys over the top of him. But there will never be a player guarded like that again. Yeah. Like the way he's guarded. The NBA has never seen it and will never see it again. And that's why when everybody's complaining about, yo, like, why are they grabbing him like that? You know, like, why are the referees not calling these fouls?
1:20:02I think it's unfair, too. But, again, if there was a guy to come about, say, 10 years from now, and he moved like Steph without the ball and was that dangerous, I think the NBA would actually do better at calling those fouls.
1:20:17PFT Commenter:Yeah. But this is the first time they've ever seen that. It's not as easy to referee as people think it is. And he never stops moving. That's the craziest part about Steph is when you watch him and you're just like, how is he? He literally just never stops moving. He doesn't. It's incredible. But his level of conditioning, like, to do that. Like, sometimes he's even just moving without a purpose. But that's just who he is. Like, he's just going to continue moving. But then, boom, and a quick beat, he just take off. You know what I mean? But it is, I always tell, like, your defensive possessions to us was there when he gets off the ball.
1:20:54Like now the possession starts. Right. And people haven't figured it out yet 17 years later.
1:21:00Big Cat:What is it about when he starts to run? What can you see when it's like it's going to be one of those nights? Well, I can't give that secret away just yet because then people will be able to read it and I don't know that they need to. But there's a certain run he has when he's in and like there's a certain run he has when his mind like, I'm not really here tonight. I'm here in the physical. He's locked in. But I'm not really, truly locked in at this tonight. There's a certain way he runs. When he locked in, it looks a little different. Yeah. Yeah. Back to the basketball IQ thing. Is there an art to setting a perfect screen?
1:21:37Yeah. 1 ,000%.
1:21:39Big Cat:Is that something that you've honed over the years? Absolutely. And playing for Tom Izzo. We spoke about Coach Izzo. You cannot play for Tom Izzo if you don't screen. and what you work on every day is how to screen, like screening, positioning, foot positioning, and you got to put your body on someone or coaches are going to call you soft and every other word in the book that you don't want to hear. Screen positioning, we work on every day, and how to guard ball screens. We work on every single day at Michigan State. And so I've always known how to screen, and I've gotten better and better as my career has gone on, but that was required for me at Michigan State.
1:22:21But I think a couple things you need to understand. One, most importantly, who it is that you're screening for. Because who it is that you're screening for changes the type of screen you need. For Steph, I need to screen a little higher because the defense is going to be so glued to his body that in order for me to get the screen off, I have to screen a little higher. For most guys, you need to screen a little more on the lower side to give them the possibility to turn the corner. But for Steph, they're up so high. In order for me to give him the chance to turn the corner, my screen has to be a little higher.
1:22:59It can't be on the low side. But also on the flip side of that, no one's going under a Steph Curry pick and roll. So I can set the screen as high as I want to because guess what you're going to do? You're going to chase over because if you go under, you're dead anyway. And so it's all about understanding who it is that you're screening for and then what it is that you're trying to get out of this screen. Am I trying to get this guy a basket out of this screen? Am I trying to get the first domino to fall to create this out of the screen? But I think there's a few different things that you need to understand going into the screen.
1:23:31Big Cat:Is there an art on the roll after the screen? Like how to keep that screen going for an extra half second as you're rolling away? 1 ,000%, depending on, based on how your guy is guarding you and how this guy's guarding Steph is going to determine my role. Do I need to open up and roll to create this space? Do I need to quick slip off the role and get out of it to create the pocket fast because they're trapping? You know, it's different things based on how they're guarding that will determine how I'm getting out of my screen. It's almost beautiful to watch when you're rolling out of a screen and you do take that step.
1:24:04Big Cat:and it's like you add in an extra screen as you're cutting to wherever you need to be, and it really does open up the offense. 1 ,000%. You add a little bit to the screen. Yeah, it's not a moving screen. You're rolling. No, I'm getting out. Yeah, yeah. I'm trying to leave. Absolutely. You got to learn a few tricks of the trade. It's a little gray area in there.
1:24:26PFT Commenter:You mentioned Izzo. One of my favorite things that happens pretty much every single year is Tom Izzo loses his shit, yells at a player, maybe grabs a player, everyone freaks out and is like, coach can't do that. And then pretty much every single guy that played for him comes out and is like, no, that's totally fine. I love it. Because it's just like everyone has his back and they're like, this is a coach who will coach you hard, but he loves you. And that's the best type of coach. 1 ,000%. Because if you're just watching from the outside in, you're like, oh my God, I can't believe he just spoke to him like that.
1:25:04However, you haven't seen the hundred hours of meetings and work that this man has done on that relationship. So if you're just looking at it, you're judging this based on how he should speak to you because you don't know him. Right. And he don't know you. Right. You're not judging based on how he should speak to that guy he's coaching because of the relationship that they have. And so when we all come to his defense, it's because we know the amount of time that he spent building that relationship up so he can do that very thing. He's just not out the gate like, ah! No, he's out the gate like, yo, come to my office.
1:25:41Yo, let's go to lunch. Let's sit here and watch film. Let's do this. How you doing? What's going on back home? How's your mom? How's your dad? How's your brother? Heard your little sister struggling with this thing. That's all the stuff out the gate. Right. By the time you see him go completely apeshit on someone, he's done so much work that he has the right to do that. But guess what? And what makes him special and what we all appreciate about him is he has a rule. Hey, if I speak to you guys like that, I can't just sit on this high horse and this pedestal and you can't say anything back to me.
1:26:22Say something back. Tell me how you feel. The worst thing you can do to him is go silent.
1:26:27PFT Commenter:Yeah. Because he gets so mad at that because he don't know what you're thinking. Mm-hmm. Right? So he say something back. But then he always tell us, but if you come in the kitchen, bring the goods. Because I got hundreds of hours of film where you're doing it like this and I'm going to take you right to that film and show you while I'm yelling. Right. And so it's a give or take. It's a relationship that goes both ways. And we all appreciate him, man. Yeah. Like the love that we have for Tom Izzo. We always want to have it. You can feel it. And it is very funny to watch because it's a lot of people who don't know him like make casting judgment.
1:26:59PFT Commenter:And then the people that know him the best being like, no, that's totally fine. That's how he coaches. And that's why he's been so successful so many years. 1 ,000%. And why we all have the success we have after we leave him. Yeah. Whether that's in basketball, whether that's in business, whatever it is, when you've been coached up like that, when you've been given the game that he gives us, like it the trajectory of your life changes after you meet thomas yeah i got a question about that too um getting drafted by the warriors and like playing with steph and obviously and and steve who i want to talk about as well like the way they were able to unlock your skill set do you think about like if you had gotten drafted somewhere else if your like career had just would have been just totally different i think i think um draft positioning draft place i think I think that's one of the most important things for anyone in this league.
1:27:52You know, I always speak about when young guys fail, no one ever says it's the organization fault. It's always that guy's fault. He did this, he was this, it's never the organization fault. I hate that because then on the flip side, it's always the organization. Right. And do I think it would have looked different for me? Of course. Like, I've had the opportunity to play with two greatest shooters to ever touch a basketball. And I am an incredible screener. I'm an incredible passer. And so I'm going to benefit from that because it enhances my skill set. It allows me to really dive into what I do great.
1:28:39Like, however, there's always this narrative of like, yo, your career would have been so different had you not got drafted to the Warriors. But people tend to forget I've been here for so long that I actually came here when the Warriors were shit.
1:28:53PFT Commenter:Yeah, you were drafted to a bad Warriors team. I wasn't drafted to like, you know, people look today and they're like, oh, man, like, if he wasn't drafted to the Warriors, he'd be shit. But no one said when I got drafted to the Warriors that that was going to be the key to my success. I made that success. And also, I mean, like, even if you're talking about before KD came, like you playing at the five, like that's that's not something that a guy usually your size can can do that. And the Warriors did it. And then you basically made not I'm saying you made it all go. But I always like watch the, you know, your first championship is like Draymond is the chess piece that teams don't have here that he can.
1:29:32PFT Commenter:He allows them to do stuff because you can guard so many positions that made it. So it was like such an exciting new basketball. Yeah, I appreciate that. I think that was, you know, at the end of the day, we all benefited off each other's skill set. Me being able to guard bigger than my size, you know, allowed us to play faster. You know, once that allowed us to play faster, it helped everyone. You know, it helped our entire group because now everything's fast, the shooting, the cutting. Things are happening at warp speed. Well, if you put a seven-foot center there that moves a bit slower, it's not happening at that same speed.
1:30:13You're not getting the same advantages, you know. And so I think all of our skill sets, you know, really helped each other. And that is the importance of having a great general manager to put together a great team to where your skill sets benefit each other. If we go get five guys with the same skill set, I'm going to show you a very shitty team.
1:30:36PFT Commenter:Yeah. Because that's never going to work. But in saying that, you never get me to say, or not you in general, but just saying in general, you never get me to say that this place did not play a role in my success. I've been here for 14 years. The continuity that we've had, the skill sets that we've been able to bring together, of course it played a role in my success. But I really laugh when people are like, yo, he's so lucky he went to the Warriors. like, no man, these people won 23 games the year before I got here. I was not lucky. The Warriors were the laughingstock of the NBA when I arrived at the Warriors.
1:31:16But what a compliment that people think that. Like how great I must have done for people to say that. Because they don't even have a recollection of me passing out tickets downtown Oakland for free and getting on the BART as a team activity, giving out free tickets as a rookie. they don't even have a recollection of that. How much success you must have had for them to not even have a recollection of that.
1:31:42Big Cat:They had you selling tickets. I mean, yeah, it's fair to say that if you have elite shooters, it shows how valuable a person with your skill set can be. It maximizes that value. And it's like, yeah, this guy is a key part of any sort of championship culture because you had that talent also around you. It's really, you're right. It's like the perfect mix of skill sets at the perfect time created the perfect basketball team, which is something that nobody else can say. It's like that's an amazing accomplishment. And when you got to the Warriors, when they decided, when Steve Kerr was like, I've got this idea for the death lineup to go small on them, what was that installation process of that offense like?
1:32:21Big Cat:Did everyone buy in immediately? Were they like, yeah, this can work? Or was it like, this is kind of crazy. I'm not sure if it's going to pan out, but we'll give it a shot. You know what's interesting? And just going back, like taking a trip back in time, it wasn't a thing. It was just like, yo, any other rotation in the game, right? I don't know if people realize, everyone always get into this, like, why are coaches subbing like that? Coaches have substitution patterns. They have these substitutions written down on a sheet of paper before the game even starts, right? And they're just going off that sheet.
1:32:59Yes, every now and then a coach is going to say, all right, we're not doing that one, though. We're going to plug. But for the most part, they've gone through analytics, they've done all of these things. Well we know this lineup that they play at this time matches up awful against this type of lineup. So this is the lineup we're doing. These things are really drawn out long beforehand. And so when we started the Def lineup though, getting a little old, it wasn't quite as drawn out. And so that was just kind of like, oh, we're going with this lineup, right? We want to get our five best players on the floor.
1:33:39Myself, Steph, Klay, Harrison, and Andre. Sometimes Harrison can be Sean Livingston, but we want to get our best players on the court. Okay, that's the lineup we're going with when we need to close games and get our best. And it kind of just morphed into what it became. It wasn't like this idea of like, oh, man, we're going to go with this small lineup and it's going to hurt teams like this. You kind of just fell into it, you know? And then once you see, oh, we can guard. Because that's the real test of any lineup working. Yeah, that's the same about you playing center. Right? Like once you see like, oh, well, this lineup give people hell because they can't keep up with it, but we can actually guard them on the other end.
1:34:21PFT Commenter:Yeah. Then it kind of morphed into like, oh, it's this death lineup. And it was given a name and all of these things. But initially, it wasn't like some big deal. It kind of just like, all right, this is the lineup we're going to now. And we just fell into it. And it was so dangerous. It kept growing and growing. And then there became different iterations of it. I got a dumb question. It's whatever. I'm just wondering the feeling of it, you know, the death lineup in those Warriors teams. How awesome was it when you guys, because I feel like when I think about those warriors teams i think about just watching a game and having it be you guys maybe down five or even a tie game and then three minutes later you're up 15 how sick was that we're just like this this is just the best thing ever yeah you it was because it really would it would be like that you'd blink and you'd be like what the fuck just happened 1000 it was it was it was a little um
1:35:20misleading for us. And what I mean by misleading for us was sometimes it would allow you to cheat.
1:35:28PFT Commenter:Where you wouldn't, you'd be like, we'll just come back from anything. Because you know, like, oh, they're up 10. Yeah. We'll cover that in two minutes, no problem. Yeah, you would though. And so in turn, it'll kind of lead you down this path sometimes that, you know, the old cliche, They'll play every possession and every game. It'll kind of lead you down this path that we all know it's not the right path we should be headed. Yeah, right. But in doing so, you also know like, yo, we can turn it on and flip this thing in two minutes. And so there was always this feeling that felt great of we're never out of the game.
1:36:06Or, yo, we about to just blow these dudes out. Like they didn't let us stay. We're up two. We're down two for too long. We about to blow these dudes out. And so it was always great having that feeling of just knowing you're never out of a game and you can take over a game at any moment. You'd be more shocked at the time. For us, you'd be more shocked when it didn't happen. You're like, oh, shit. We just tried to turn it on. It didn't work. It was very seldom it didn't work. But when it didn't, you're like, man, what went wrong there? You go back and watch the film. I'm like, ah, all right, they hit shot here.
1:36:38We couldn't get this ball right. but it was it was more surprising when it didn't work and off that you guys also like the patented
1:36:46PFT Commenter:when i also think about the warriors teams it's the third quarter and so what what would happen at halftime where because it would just be every third quarter there was that stretch where no matter what third quarter would happen it would be a tie game and then they'd be you guys be up 20 so i think for us number one is again we've always been guarded differently than any team has ever been guarded in the history of the NBA. So number one, you're going to have to see what it is that they're doing. We're like, all right, they're doing this. This is how we're going to pick this apart. And pick it apart and you're gone.
1:37:21But I'm going to tell you this part of it that no one seems to understand or talk about ever. And that's, you know how a team sometimes can become snakebitten? Like they get this kind of mentality of like all of a sudden something go wrong a few times and then they get to that point in the game and you can see them start to go, oh shit, like here it go again. Is it going to go wrong? We were the opposite. Right. And so for us mentally and for other teams mentally, you have a few great third quarters and people see this. They start to believe it. We start to believe it.
1:38:01PFT Commenter:Yeah. You know? And so then it's kind of this perfect storm of like, all right, well, we now believe in this third quarter thing. Right. And now we know you believe in it. Yeah, because the other coach is probably telling them, hey, watch out, third quarter, they're going to jump on us. And all of a sudden, Steph come out and hit two threes. Clay come out and hit two threes. Don't let me hit one. Oh. Like, and you can see on their face, like, there you go. And so it was a mental thing as well. You know what I'm saying? It wasn't just like what we were doing so much physically. It was a mental edge that we had as well.
1:38:37If we start doing these third quarters, everybody start talking about it. We start to believe it. Other teams start to believe it. It's like game six Clay, right? Like the phenomenon that is game six Clay. Clay had a couple good game sixes. Everybody started talking about this. He literally, I can see, I kid you not, he started to believe that it was a real thing. It was just game six, yeah. And he would walk around like, all right, Dre, it's game six. Here we go. game six you know what time he started to believe this phenomenon and guess what game six clay now it's a real thing and so it's kind of along those same lines right like it came mental for us it became mental for other teams and we leaned into it and it worked out for us yeah I would say
1:39:23Big Cat:so yeah if you hit one three what are the chances that you take a second three immediately after if I get a good I'm not someone that's going and hit one and just cast the next one. I usually don't get... But if I hit one, that next one is highly likely I'm shooting it again. Yeah, if you have like a sliver of daylight. Well, just because you don't know, you might be hot. No, for sure. Might be in the zone. But you know, for me, getting hot not really a thing. Because if I'm in a zone and I see you open, my first instinct is to just pass it to you. It's not even a thought of like, man, I just hit my last two.
1:40:03It's just my natural instinct. So if I catch it and someone's right there wide open, naturally I'm going to just catch and swing it because that's what I've done my whole life. That's what I've been taught. You know, you see the open man, you get the open man the ball, right? And so I've never truly been able to – like scoring is a mentality, right? I've never truly been able to dive into that side of I'm hot, I got it going, I'm taking a shot. Like, no, if I see somebody open, I'm going to swing it. That's just kind of who I am naturally.
1:40:37Big Cat:It's a great teammate. Yeah. Great teammate. I like to think I'm a great teammate. And I feel like there's a lot of fan bases around the league that hate you, but if you were on their team, they would love you. You'd be their favorite player, right? 1 ,000%. In my day, I've probably had quite a bit of success against their team, so I'd hate me too if I were them. Is this a weird week for you? So we're recording this on February 2nd today, right? Groundhog's Day. So it is the trade deadline week this week. Is this an especially strange trade deadline for you? Because there have been all the rumors and you're like, you know, at any given time, your life might change in an unpredictable way.
1:41:18You know, I'll be 100 % honest with you. It did not get weird for me until today. Oh. It got really weird for me today. I started my massage. And my massage therapist, the first 30 minutes this morning of my massage, was talking about me getting traded. How dare they want to trade you? I can't believe that. I heard this. I read that. It was this thing. And I was just sitting there playing dominoes on my phone like, oh, yeah. Uh-huh. And she was going in about it for a good 30 minutes. I kid you not. I thought nothing of it. I got to practice today. Think nothing of it. Go through the entire practice.
1:41:58and earlier in the practice, coach was like, what's up Dre, how you doing, you good? I'm like, yeah, I'm good coach. Boop, boop, boop, go on to practice. After practice, Dre, come here, call me over. Dre, how you doing, you all right, you sure, you good? I'm like, yeah, I'm great coach. He like, oh, because all this trade room and stuff, I know it can be, and I'm like, oh, that's when it got real for me.
1:42:18PFT Commenter:Yeah. And so, in complete honesty and training, he was like, well, how's Hazel handling it? Hazel's my wife. How's Hazel, Hannah? Is she good? And I was like, honestly, coach, I haven't said a word to her about it. So she's not nervous. She's fine. That's when I started getting a little weird after practice today. So before today, no. And saying that, honestly, what's to be is going to be. What's going to happen is going to happen. And what is and isn't. You know, I've dyed my beard black black and worrying about that is going to send it back gray. Yeah. So was that a move to be like, hey, I'm actually younger than you think.
1:43:03PFT Commenter:Don't trade me. No, I didn't. I'll tell you what it was. So close friend of mine got married this summer, Taylor Rooks. And when she got married, they had these black and white portraits at the wedding. and beautiful black and white portrait. And my wife and I was taking, we took our portrait and we got the portrait back. And like my wife looked fucking gorgeous. She looked amazing. And I looked like her 49-year-old uncle. And it was black and white. And I mean, the silver was like... Popping. I saw her on the picture, but the second thing I saw was the silver over her shoulder. And I was like, it was that day that I said, oh, hell no.
1:43:54The gray got to go. I know.
1:43:56PFT Commenter:I tried to dye my hair. It just takes so much work to keep it up. It is consistent. I shout out to Brownie Blends. He keep it together for me because it requires a lot of consistent work. Over and over. Yeah. So I get it. Yes, you are right. But no, it wasn't so they think I was young. It's so my wife think I'm a little younger. Yeah. Okay. So you might get traded. You might not. It would be weird if we ran this after you got traded. Do you want to say, knowing that we're going to run it next week, do you want to say anything to the Golden State Warriors fans? Oh, man. You just got traded. Yeah.
1:44:33I think for me personally. This is breaking news. It has been an incredible 13 and a half years. I have no reason to sit and worry or think about being traded. Because if I would have done that for the last 13 and a half years, the amount of worrying I would have done isn't good for anyone. Even grayer. You know? Yeah. 1 ,000%. It worried me more than trying to get the NBA finals was worrying me and causing all the grays. You know? And so this is home for me. No trades changing that. What I've done here is what I've done. What I've been able to accomplish with these fans, with this team, with this organization, none of that's changing.
1:45:25And so I am forever grateful. This is my second home or my third home. East Lansing is probably my second home. But this is home for me. And nothing's changing that. I don't get caught up into it. There is no hard feelings. No one owes me anything. I'm grateful for my time here. If it ends, look what we've done. How amazing is it that we were able to accomplish what we've accomplished, that we were able to change the path of history, change the way the game of basketball is played, all of that in 12, 13 short years. That's not that long of a time. so I'm forever grateful for my time here the fans have been amazing the organization has been amazing if this is where it is all good things come to an end at some point if this is where it does it's been a hell of a fucking ride
1:46:22PFT Commenter:okay now give a message to Bucks fans because you've just been traded there a message to Bucks fans I don't know you said you miss winter no I'll tell you what flying to the snow it's much better than living I would imagine it's much better so yeah I don't have much of a I haven't experienced anything with them I don't have much of a message for them
1:46:51Big Cat:and even if you do end up leaving you might come back we're not shutting the door on that either I don't shut the door on anything
1:46:58PFT Commenter:now do that you left you played for Milwaukee for a few months now you just re-signed with the Warriors over the summer
1:47:05Big Cat:yeah say goodbye to Milwaukee first
1:47:07PFT Commenter:Yeah, yeah. All your memories in Milwaukee. Please talk on that. It's been an incredible three months.
1:47:17Milwaukee's your fourth home. It's been an incredible three months. I hope they enjoyed the time we share.
1:47:27PFT Commenter:That's beautiful. Well said. Well said. Hey, we were mentioning threes. Remember when you used to take a lot of threes? I used to shoot a lot of threes. You used to shoot. There was games. I was looking at some of your game logs, and it was like, you know, 11 threes. What happened? You know, a few things happened.
1:47:47One, we got Kevin Durant. Yep. Well, you begged for him, so. So, you know. Yeah. Someone had to give up shots. You can't go beg for someone. Yeah. And then not be willing to sacrifice a shot. Yep, that's fair. But two, so 2018, maybe 17, whatever year it was that we swept the Cavs, I think it was 18.
1:48:20If we went into game five, I couldn't play. Oh. My hip was so jacked up. I couldn't walk after, like, for days after I had to literally sit on the couch like this. Just to sit. My hip was so messed up. And in turn, it changed my movement pattern. So it changed how I drop into my shot. It changed everything. Also, around that same time, we were playing, I'll never forget it. We were playing against the Detroit Pistons. And JaVale McGee was guarding a pick and roll. and he got beat. And so I came over secondary to help at the rim. And I come and I go off one foot to block the shot on the glass. And when I blocked the shot on the glass, JaVale McGee ran into the backside of me.
1:49:10And it like pimp my arm to the glass and my body kept going. I've dealt with that shoulder injury ever since. I mean, you can tell. I've dealt with that ever since. Because we see how you shoot. And so now fast forward, I then lost confidence. Yeah. Right? So dealing with the shoulder injury, dealing with the hip injury, I then lost confidence in the shot. So I catch the ball, and I'm like, ah, no, I'm supposed to shoot. But I don't feel comfortable shooting with the shoulder because this time I may shoot, and it may come all the way out and be perfect how I want it. Or I may go up, and it may get stuck right here, and I just had to push it.
1:49:53And so in turn, in dealing with that, then I lost confidence in it.
1:49:57PFT Commenter:Yeah. And once you lose confidence in this league, it's usually a death sentence. I was able to, fortunately able to do other things at a high enough level to make it a little less important. Yep. But so then now you fast forward and now then all of a sudden people no longer see you as a shooter. So then you're trying to get over that hurdle, right? Because you're trying to get over the hurdle of like, I want him to believe in me shooting. I want him. So regardless of all the work I put in, if they don't believe in it, you're then trying to get over that hurdle. And it was just kind of an ongoing process until getting to this year.
1:50:36PFT Commenter:And I finally like, I'll go 0 for 6. I don't care. But it took me a while to get back there just mentally. Like I'm talking years of just trying to get past like the shoulder thing and like worrying about that and actually being comfortable enough to just like, no, I'm going to just shoot it. It is what it is. That's what I'm supposed to do. That's what the game telling me to do. I'm going to shoot it. So what you just did is kind of fucked up because you just stole like one of my favorite things to do is make fun of your shot. And you just stole that from us because you have like all these real reasons that are like real injuries and the mental part of the game.
1:51:12PFT Commenter:So I'm not happy that you did that. Oh, I apologize. I'm sorry. Do you still make them all in practice? Because that's the craziest thing. I always say, like, we're lucky enough that we've met a bunch of guys in the NBA. We actually have, you know, at our office a full court. We've had guys come train for the draft and stuff. And I always say to people, like, if you watch a guy in an open gym, you realize the difference. Because they might be a 35 % shooter in games. They will make 90 out of 100 threes standing in an open gym. Yeah. Probably 99 % of the people that think I can't shoot, I'll take their life savings.
1:51:51Yeah, right. No problem. Right. Annihilate, too. Like, oh, man, he hit one shot. No. Like, to you, I'm Steph Curry. Right, right, right, right. So you are making him in practice. I'll tell you this.
1:52:06PFT Commenter:Yeah. I am a damn good shooter. Like, damn good. But, again, and getting over the mental hurdle, it's like a golfer getting the yips. It's like getting back over that mental hurdle was such a big deal. Like, it was so hard. I'm talking about, like, to the point where still, even today, I have to make sure and do work to know that, like, no, I'm still over that hurdle and, like, not to fall back into that. Like, it's an ongoing thing. Yeah. And then you add in, I'm always going to see if Steph is open first. And if he's even a little open and I'm all the way open, I'm going to throw the ball to him.
1:52:51And so always having to see that, I think sometimes for me also, that would throw off my rhythm in a shot. You catch the ball and you rising up, that's a rhythm shot. You catch it, you look, all right, it's a totally different shot. And so it was a perfect storm. And saying that, I think one of the things that I'm most proud of is I came into the NBA. I scored the ball.
1:53:14PFT Commenter:Yeah. And to become who I've become, not doing that is, to me, one of the biggest accomplishments. Because I became ultimately who I wanted to become in a completely different way than I thought I'd become now. Right, yeah. And so to me, it's one of the things that I'm most proud of. So that's good because I was looking up mean tweets about you, and someone tweeted, do you think Draymond makes any threes in practice? So now we have an answer to that. Tell that person. Well, it was me. I actually tweeted that. Oh, I would love that. We should – I'll give you some odds too. Yeah, we'll do an open gym.
1:53:47Yeah. Oh, no, you'll kill me. No, I'll give you some odds, and we'll make it fun.
1:53:53Big Cat:Okay. If I was locked in a gym with you, and if I scored two points against you, If I made one basket on you, I'd get your whole life savings. Great. But I'm not allowed to eat or drink. I can't have any water. Am I dying in that gym before I get your life savings? Yeah. I couldn't get a single basket off. No chance. Not one. Because it's for my life savings. Yeah. So the level of defense I'm going to play. Yeah. Put me in hell. But if you don't score, then I get your podcast platform. Oh, the RSS feed. We're doing an RSS feed. Okay. Okay. How about that? Two on one? Because I got to have a way to get your life saved.
1:54:33Yeah, true. You got to get high. Two on one's fine. Two on one? Oh, two on one.
1:54:38Big Cat:We work. We smoke you. Oh, my God. All due respect.
1:54:42PFT Commenter:You know how good I am at shooting? I'm the guy who said that you don't make any shots in practice. So let's do this. Let's do this. Yeah. Two on one.
1:54:48Big Cat:This would be so embarrassing for us. I'm more deli than deli is. You think deli stinks? I really stink. Two on one. Okay. Oh, man. Barstool. This is bad. This is bad.
1:54:59PFT Commenter:Versus Odyssey. bad idea two on one how much time do we get this this ends with us just like in tears just screaming about how big our podcast is and you don't realize that for sure and like i get the audience yeah and they're not they're not allowed to unsubscribe no because they like you guys more than me
1:55:18Big Cat:they're stuck with me but you have to you have to have hank on the show so it's you and hank and our producer and you would do the podcast perfect okay we keep then we keep the we keep platform yeah uh i got a serious question for you do you ever think about how you ruined basketball
1:55:37Big Cat:it's a good question thank you and not you not you specifically the golden state warriors yeah
1:55:42PFT Commenter:steph curry everyone's shooting everyone shoots threes now that's the game and you guys were
1:55:47Big Cat:great you guys broke the sport of basketball and now every kid that's in high school is like i'm steph curry too you ruined it you know what's interesting would you like to apologize to the sport no okay well what carrie mcgregor say i like to take this time to apologize to absolutely
1:56:03PFT Commenter:fucking no one yeah by the way we did the mcgregor mcgregor mayweather yes the two of us were as drunk as you could possibly be and i think i walked up to you and was like hey come on our podcast come on our podcast it was you and paul george and i i'm surprised you remember that well i was looking up old tweets and i have a picture of me drunk trying to get you on our podcast so but that's neither here nor there look here this is you that's the picture i took we just ran up to you you know that's when that's when see what a time that's when you used to go to a fight suited and booted yeah it was a whole thing wow what a time yeah well we we we showed up like to the fight and when we were walking in the person who's selling beer outside was like last call and we already were drunk and we're like, oh, fuck, it's last call.
1:56:54PFT Commenter:It wasn't even – it's Vegas. There's no last call. So we just started pounding drinks. We don't remember anything from the fight. We were so fucked up. It was a fun fight. It was very fun. Yeah. But back to you ruining basketball. Sorry. That was a side call. You were about to apologize. Yeah, I don't. You know what's crazy about that is, number one, the only person that gets credit for ruining basketball is Steph. No one else gets credit for it. Only Steph. However - You would like some credit for that too. No, none. Because it's ruined. Give it all to Steph. But I remember the very first person to say that was Mark Jackson.
1:57:35He said it on air. He said, Steph Curry has ruined the game of basketball. And everyone was pissed off.
1:57:44Big Cat:Yeah. Because no one understood what the hell he was talking about. And he had just left, right? and everyone was sensitive about anything Mark says about us. Coach Jackson to me, Mark to everyone else. Everyone was sensitive about anything he said. And I remember when he said it and everybody was just like, how dare him? He's mad, he's got fired, this, that, and the other. And it wasn't long after that where we were like, oh, you know exactly what he meant. It definitely ruined the game of basketball for everyone. I don't apologize, though, for us because everything must evolve. And we were the next evolution to the game of basketball.
1:58:31Quite honestly, people don't realize it, but the game is changing now. And it's changing away from what it was that we did to become so successful. It's always changing. We were just that time period. When you win, we always say it's a copycat league. When you win, everybody copy up. We need to do that. For multiple years, Buddy Hill was the sixth pick in the draft because everybody was looking for the next step. Right? You watch the NBA draft, everybody, oh man, who's the next Draymond Green? When you're having success, everyone wants to copy it. And so we were having such a high level of success, everyone started copying.
1:59:10Now people are going away from that. You know, people are looking at OKC. What can we do here to mimic that? it's just a copycat league and it was just our chance to do it but i will say i think we probably we probably changed the game more drastically than anyone had ever done okay can you apologize
1:59:29PFT Commenter:for something else you ruined yes you ruined uh like the humor of hitting guys in the nuts because every time you hit someone in the nut everyone's like well it's we gotta have to have a serious discussion about draymond and stuff sometimes it's just funny i i agree it's so messed up man you've hit a lot of guys in the nuts is there a favorite pair of nuts you've hit oh man you know what sometimes i'll be so oblivious that i don't even realize i hit him
2:00:01Big Cat:yeah i mean the picture of the the stephen adams one where he's just standing perfectly upright and your voice that's one of the funniest pictures of all time he's like this yeah hey what I will say the one with Steven Adams I was really trying to flop and like sell the call but man what an unfortunate spot to be in for him standing nice and proper looking at you like a gentleman
2:00:28PFT Commenter:I do have a theory about some of your technicals is there ever a time when you're like I don't really feel like playing tonight so I'm just going to get a tactical and get kicked out right away. I've done that one time in my career. It wasn't the Rudy Gobert, right? No, he tried to get Clay, man. Yeah. I was ready for that game. Were you surprised he didn't tap? Well, he did. He did tap? No, he did. Oh, he fully tapped. Okay. All right. He's like, go. Sorry. So what's the one time? Because I do like that where you're just like, I don't feel like playing tonight. It was, I think, I can't recall.
2:01:01I want to say we were playing the Sacramento Kings. I think it was, but it was the game before All-Star break. Okay. And I was like, yo, I'm ready to get the fuck out of here. And I said something to the referee, and I was walking away, and I was like, this is my chance. Boom! Tech, out of here. Boom, gone. That's the one time. Any other time, some of them be so garbage, man. Like, we have a thing now. One of our assistant coaches, he go around the locker room, people like, I was watching him all day. he really wanted to play. But they got him out of here on some... So, you know, I mean, I'd be lying to you if I said I've never done that.
2:01:46But no, most of the time, man, I like playing basketball. The fun part is the game. It's the playing basketball. All the other shit we have to do is like the miserable part. When you actually get to play in the game, that's the easiest part of the job.
2:01:59Big Cat:Yeah. And when you got Rudy like that, you had to do that. You had to be a teammate. I had to, you know. He was crossing the line. He was crossing the line. You had to let him know, remind him. Daddy's still here. We may have had a little history before. Yeah. You know. I think players should be allowed to fight like in hockey. Why not?
2:02:16PFT Commenter:Oh, you want to hear my –
2:02:18Big Cat:I seriously believe that a lot of the like, oh, is this bad for the league like if there's violence happening on the court? We don't talk about that in hockey. If two players are like, okay, let's go at it, give them 30 seconds. You'd have a lot less guys talking.
2:02:32PFT Commenter:Yeah. Yeah. A lot less. I think it'd be great. so it'd be amazing here's a rule that i've i've actually pitched it to adam silver um and i would actually you'd be perfect for this rule i think there should be every single player in the nba should get to fight one fan a year and you get to call them out but once you use it you lose it so how quickly would you use it fast because then but then the rest of the year everyone can talk shit to you being like he remember remember the remember game two against the warriors he beat the shit out of someone then i'm just stuck in the same spot i'm in now and I didn't whoop someone ass.
2:03:06At least that time I did get to whoop somebody. Now I'm just stuck here and I can't whoop.
2:03:12PFT Commenter:But that would solve the whole fans getting crazy. You just call them out and you go to center court and you fight. They would stop. Sends it on your ticket stub. A player can call you out if you get unruly. It would be awesome. A lot of people would stop. Watch for the ears. Yeah, I was going to say, cauliflower guys would not. Make sure you don't call out the wrong guy, man. watch for the ear that's a great tip you gotta make sure you don't call out the wrong did y 'all see this guy a couple weeks ago um maybe it was a UFC fighter he was at a game and the guy was trying to call him out and he just smiled and like walked off oh no y 'all it was at a football game I think it was
2:03:50Big Cat:yeah if you smile and like
2:03:52PFT Commenter:yeah that's a problem he lucky that guy had self control man yeah cause boy you better call out the right person yeah
2:03:59Big Cat:do you think fans have gotten crazier over the years like have they started to cross the line more or is it just more players are starting to call them out? I think they've gotten crazier over the years because you saw, like, I think the leagues, I say leagues, not just this league, the leagues overall, I think the leagues went so far left to where it's like a player say something back, you find, and it's announced. To where people then start making it a point to try to get you fined. Right. Yeah. And I think the leagues have done a great job of like, you know, we're not just going to keep finding our guys because you're saying what you want to say to them and they turn back human and say something back.
2:04:42You know, I think the leagues have done a much better job of that because what you realize is not much comes of the back and forth boom, boom. Right. There's more attention on the thing once you do the fine.
2:04:55Big Cat:Yeah. And it's like, oh, this moment happened. This was said. And then fans overall, they're like, oh, man, I got this guy to lose$25 ,000. I got this guy to lose$35 ,000. I'm going to say this to this guy next. He's going to lose. And it was almost like they kind of had this rite of passage, if you will, to just start talking and we lose money. I think the leagues have done a better job of that, but I think that's what created it. Fans got much crazier.
2:05:23PFT Commenter:Yeah, yeah. What's your favorite championship? My favorite championship, it's hard to top the first one because it's the first time you experience that. So it would be one and four. Oh, so you really don't like KD. No, I love KD. I set you up for that. I listened to an interview where you said one and four. I love KD, but, you know. The first is the first. The first is, yeah. In the fourth, I think the argument is the fourth kind of came – not came out of nowhere, but it was a little shocking. It didn't come out of nowhere, but it did. Like, again, me and Steph, after every playoff series, we'd be walking to an interview together, and we'd be laughing and looking at each other like, man, how?
2:06:15Yeah. Like, we just didn't know that initially that it was a championship team. it wasn't your typical championship roster that we had experienced. You know, like there was a certain experience that we had. We hadn't experienced that. And it was just like, man, but we knew what it looked like. We knew what it felt like. And so right away at the beginning of the playoffs, we like, man, we got something here. But it was crazy because no one expected it, you know. And so then also a part of me, like the competitive nature in me, I don't think I ran Kevin Durant off. No, I don't think so either. But everyone's going to say that, and I'm fine with people saying what they want to say.
2:06:53But the reality is, in people saying that, because people does, then the competitor in me is like, okay, well, if you say I ran them off and I made a mistake, well, then here, here you go.
2:07:06PFT Commenter:Yeah, I want to win another one. Now I did it again. Now what? So I still got to hear about that because I just went and did it again. And history will say, if you win one championship, you're lucky. This is the fourth, but let's just count this one. Is it enough? Since I ran this guy off, here you go. So that's why that one is up there with my favorite as well. And we are, Kevin Durant's actually a white whale to come on this show. And he, I mean, I actually think he's gotten to the underrated part where like, because he claps back at people on Twitter, so people try to kind of like the fan thing where people know they can get a rise out of him.
2:07:48PFT Commenter:But he is such an unbelievable player. When you were playing with him, when he was added to the team, like, it had to feel like you guys were invincible because, I mean, we talked about Steph. Kevin Durant's also unguardable. Like, you can't guard him, and he makes everything. Well, Steph's definitely unguardable. KD's kind of the original. Yeah. You know, he was a cheat code for us. Like, that's the reality. Like, once we got him, and then, like, once we got him, we knew. Like, obviously, we already knew we had a great team. And then you add Kevin Durant, and it's like, yo, this is nuts, right?
2:08:27But there's an adjustment period. You know, like, you add a big force like that, it's not like, like, that's not a plug and play. You know, like, you have to account for Kevin Durant being on the floor with you, on your team. And so once we added him, there was kind of this period of, like, figuring it out. And what it really was that needed to be figured out was him and Steph. It wasn't anyone else. It was those two. And the only thing that they needed to figure out was when it is that you're going and when it is that I'm going, which is ultimately how most people do it. what they figured out was that wasn't needed.
2:09:09If you going, you going. If I'm going, I'm going. If we both going, we going. But this offense is predicated on ball movement anyway. So the ball is never just going to one person. It's sticking there anyway. Like that's not the brand of basketball we play. So while trying to figure that out, it wasn't as easy. Like we were so talented to where we were still winning games at a high clip, but it wasn't, we weren't invincible yet. And then we lost to the Cavs that Christmas day. And Kevin told Steph, after that game, he said, hey man, you do you and worry about you. I'm going to get mine. I'm fine.
2:09:54Stop looking for me to try to call a play for me, thinking you need to find, I'm good. I'm going to get mine no matter what. Peace, Steph. And that was there. And from that point on until Kevin left, we rolled. And so we knew once we got him. Because people try to forget, but the most unguardable action in the NBA at that time was me and Steph pick and roll. Teams did not know what to do with it. they spent summers trying to figure out and all these different schemes trying to figure out what are we doing to stop these guys in the pick and roll. Then you got Klay on the backside. So once I get it now, I'm backside actually with Klay.
2:10:40Forget about it.
2:10:45Well, in figuring that out,
2:10:50well, now guess what? We just going to throw the ball to Kevin. And you can't double. And so then what teams start doing? They start bringing the double off me. So then we start hitting me. DHO is theft. He wide open for a three because your man went to double down there. DHO, Clay, wide open for three because your man weighed down there. We're going to use that against you now. You know, and so that's what made it so unguardable is because we still played our same action. And Kevin is good enough and smart enough to fit right in that action. But then, anytime they stopped it, hey, man, there you go.
2:11:25PFT Commenter:Yep. Go get a bucket. And he's automatic. It was like, what are you going to do? Yeah. You got Kevin Durant, in most cases, by the way, playing one-on-one with your second best defender. Right. Because you're putting your best defender now on staff. You got Kevin Durant playing one-on-one against your second best defender. There were some teams that started putting four men on KD. We're like, what are y 'all doing? But they're trying to figure this figure out. Man, he about to give y 'all a 45. Yeah. And we just throw him the ball.
2:11:59Big Cat:Yeah. Was there a game where it was the perfect game? It could be in that iteration of the Warriors. It could be in another year that you had. But was there one game that stands out to you where it's like, we have reached the perfect stage of basketball evolution. Everything worked that game. unstoppable, unguardable? Not very long after the game that changed it. Yeah. If you remember back then, NBA scheduling was very predictable. Usually there was a rematch on Christmas Day of the NBA Finals and on Martin Luther King Day. Martin Luther King Day Monday, there was a rematch of that game. so there was a rematch Martin Luther King Day versus the Cavs I think we beat them by like 50 something points 40 something points we beat the dog shit out of them and but because Dele was gone couldn't do that
2:12:53PFT Commenter:when he was on TV the dream on stopper that's what they said they called Dele the step stopper he was out of the league shortly after facts you know but like that game and on Martin Luther King Day we were like oh yeah Yeah. Like, there's nobody that can beat us now. Like, we got to figure it out that we know how this works. It's over. Man, we annihilated the Cavs that day. And it was that day that the whole league knew, like, oh, they figured it out now.
2:13:24Big Cat:Unnoticed. Do you have a favorite stat line that you've ever had in a game?
2:13:28PFT Commenter:We have some for you. A couple of them. The obvious one is Memphis, you know, where I had to triple-double without the points. That was the obvious one because I felt so in a rhythm defensively. You know how people get in the zone? I felt like I could just put my hand out and it'd lead to a steal. I felt like I could do no wrong in that game defensively. Just a crazy rhythm that I don't know if I felt that many times that day. But that day I did.
2:14:05Big Cat:That's really interesting to think about being in the zone on defense. I don't ever hear that from somebody. But if you're getting 10 steals in a game, yeah, you must feel like you're in the zone. I feel like I'm literally, it was like my hand was a magnet. Like one time I was helping up top, I'll never forget it. Whatchamacallit drove middle of Marc Gasol. I just reached my hand and got the steal. I was like, oh, shit. I had no idea. I was just trying to make him pick the dribble up. That game, another famous game is the game in OKC when Steph hit the shot. It's also the same night that me and Steve had our thing in the locker room that Lisa Salters then went and reported when she was standing with her ear to our locker room door.
2:14:51I had two points and maybe 15 rebounds and 14 assists or something like that. And I completely dominated the entire game. I was one for three from the field, two points. Like 15, 16 rebounds, 15, 16 assists. And that game took a few steals, a couple blocks. That game to me also, like I knew while the game was going, I'm like, I'm dominating this entire game. I haven't scored a point. You know, like that one to me really, that was one of my favorite ones as well.
2:15:26Big Cat:What actually happened to that locker room? What actually happened was Steve, I shot two shots in the first half. They were both top of the key threes. And Steve had just come back not long ago. If you remember that year, Luke Walden coached us. Yeah. Steve was out sick. And Luke was running plays for me. I was coming off pin downs, shooting threes, everything. I was averaging almost 17 points a game or something like that. And when you're going through the season, everything happens fast. It's a game tomorrow. It's a game the next day. And you're lucky if you have a day off and it's a game the next day.
2:16:12Everything's happening at warp speed. And so we're going through the season. And when Steve came back, I felt like I wasn't getting the same opportunities that I was before he came back. And so I had already started just getting more and more upset each game, like more and more upset. And then, you know, we get to this particular game, and I shot two shots. And they showed the two shots. He showed the two shots I shot on film. At the time, I had nine rebounds, eight assists at halftime. The two shots I miss, two steals, two blocks. The two shots I miss, you're going to show both of them on field?
2:16:57Draymond, I think we can get a better look at this. I'm like, all right. So now I'm a very logical thinker and everything has to make sense to me. And so I'm like, all right, so you wanted me to take one shot this half. All right, cool. He wanted me to take one shot. All right. That's bullshit. All right, cool. And then Phil, the clips go on and the second shot pops up. And so now I'm in my head like, so you wanted me to take zero shots to have because I only took two. And so when he said that, I'm like, all right, man, I get it. I won't shoot. And then he went nuts. Like, Tremont, what the fuck?
2:17:40He came around the table cussing me out. And I went back at him a little bit. And he was screaming at me. I was screaming at him. And then I got back to my phone after the game. I was like, whoa. I had no idea what we were talking about in the locker room was going to be broadcast to the world. Right. But here we are.
2:18:02Big Cat:It's crazy. Yeah. Crazy. It's funny because you mentioned earlier, like, Izzo likes it when you yell back at him a little bit. I think I saw a clip from last week. There was some player, he was yelling at him in the huddle, and then the player, like, cussed back at him, and Izzo gave him this little smile. Yeah. Like, this is good. This is good. I like that. Is Steve Kerr like that? Does he like a little confrontation? Or does he more like Buddha, Zen shit? Steve is not like that. Like, it is want confrontation. Like, that is looking for you. It is looking for you to do that. Loves it. That's the Italian.
2:18:36PFT Commenter:I think that was the clip when he said that my mom could score on you. Absolutely. His mom's 99. The absolute worst thing you can do for Tom, like I told y 'all, is to stay silent. If you stay silent with Coach Izzo, it does not go over well with him. Because he's just going to keep going back at you. He'll look away, start talking about something, and then just turn back and start yelling at you again. Because he can't get over the fact that, did he hear me? Did he not hear me? I don't know. He didn't say anything. So he keep going back. He's looking for you to say something back. Coach Kerr, on the other hand, not as confrontational.
2:19:17PFT Commenter:Yeah. But in saying that, he and I for a very long time, not anymore. I just matured and learned to shut the hell up. But he and I for a very long time, like that was our relationship. That was our dynamic. Like he'd go at me, I'd go at him. We come in a huddle, and I could be not doing much wrong, and our team is like stinking it up. And he come in the huddle and just go ape shit on me. Treymon, what the are you doing? And then I'll go back like, man, I am. And then before you know it, our team is flying up and down the court. He uses you. He knows you're the lightning rod. He would use me to get out of it.
2:19:57So for a while, our dynamic was that. Go back and forth. As our team started to change, I knew I had to change that. Because that team responded to it. well you know like that team that's what made that team go was like oh they get into let's go you know like that was a thing that we could use every team don't respond to that well so once the pieces started to change for us then we had to alter that because all of a sudden you got guys coming in that haven't been here and they see me and him going crazy at each other a they may think that they should do that right b they could just get thrown off like man it's crazy over these two dudes yelling at each other and they just don't know and understand the dynamic so as our team roster started to change that dynamic had to change not more so for him and i though it more
2:20:55PFT Commenter:so had to change for everyone else right what what is it about steve kerr because i feel like nba is the one league where uh a coach doesn't get a ton of credit because everyone's like you know Whether it be Phil Jackson or Steve Kerr, they'll be like, oh, well, he had a super team. He had the best players. What does it matter? He just rolled the ball out. So what is it about him that's like, no, you guys don't understand what he's able to do for this team? Yeah, I think a lot of people always say that. It's like, yo, man, he had this roster that he couldn't lose with. But we've seen better rosters.
2:21:26You know, but yet anytime someone's trying to make someone less meaningful than they are, then they use the very things that they use against other people. So, for instance, I suck, right? Like I'm not that good. I can't shoot. I, all the things that people say. but I was one of the most important players on that roster that you said he couldn't lose with.
2:22:01PFT Commenter:Right. That he couldn't do nothing to fuck up. But I suck. Right. You know, like those two things don't really add up, you know? And so there's this narrative of Steve that, like, he had this roster that he couldn't mess up with, but he's the one that brought the offensive style that changed the way the game is played. because we were together two years prior, and we did well. We made the playoffs a couple times. They hadn't made the playoffs much here at all. I think two times in 23 years than we made the playoffs my first two years under Coach Jackson. But our offense wasn't the offense we ran, and so we were a good team, an up-and-coming team, but we weren't arguably the greatest team ever.
2:22:52We weren't the offense that changed. And so he then came in and brought a system that created that. No one speaks about that. You know, it's always like, oh, man, like, Steph's the greatest shooter ever, so they were able to do this. But how did Steph end up in that offense? Who did that?
2:23:11PFT Commenter:Right. That just come out of thin air? Right. You know, like, and so what Steve brought was, A, I'll never forget his first practice. He's like, yo, pass it. Steph caught the ball. He's like, pass the ball. I'm like, man, Clay Carter, pass the ball. I'm like, what is wrong with this dude? He's out of his mind telling Clay and Steph to pass the ball. And you catch the ball, and he's yelling, swing it. You're like, I didn't even have time to think. And so he brought this system, and ultimately we thrived in it. And I'll never forget, we're sitting there early in training camp, and we're like, man, you keep telling us to pass.
2:23:50How is Steph and Clay going to get shots? And he said the ball will always find who it's supposed to find if you just move it. And so then our style of play was born. He brought that. Steve Kerr has won nine championships. Five as a player, four as a coach. Make no mistake about it. That's not a coincidence. That's not coincidental. One of the most underrated things about winning a championship and one of the most underrated things about the aftermath of a championship is the know-how. In 2022, we won because we just knew how. We knew how to do it. That is one of the most underrated things. Like, what makes this OKC team dangerous is because they now know how.
2:24:51Yeah. I didn't worry about them much last year. I wanted to meet them last year because I knew, we knew how, and they didn't. But they know how now. Yeah. Now, once you do it, you know how to do it. And so, Steve, what Steve brought was the know-how. Like, he knew. You could walk around. We could all walk around like, man, we want to win a championship. and shit, he actually knew how to do it. And so when we went through our first run, he was the calming force, like the veteran leader that you would have. Except we had no veteran leader that had done it. So it was him. And he calmed us. We're down 2-1 against Memphis.
2:25:33It was him like, yo, we good, everything's straight. Like, don't worry about this. We're going to make this adjustment. And they done. Huh?
2:25:42PFT Commenter:Yeah. You're like, what? we made this one adjustment, they was done. And so ultimately, right then and there, he created and gained this belief in us, from us, that then allow him to just go and flourish and be who he is and give his, because it's like, oh, we knew we got a guy. He know the answers. Like this guy knows the answers to the test. And so there's that. and what Steve Breen, he always knows the right answer. When it comes to adjustments, which playoffs are all about, he always knows the right adjustment to make. I have never one time seen him not know the adjustment to make. That's crazy.
2:26:31It's incredible.
2:26:33Big Cat:Deli. Again, Deli. There was no answer for you. He even made an adjustment to show how bad Deli stunk for real. i mean he even made that no but it's it's a good point because it is the nba one of the things i
2:26:47PFT Commenter:love about the nba is like you you don't just become champion you kind of have to go through the wars and like you know like even last year when everyone was like the rockets the rockets the rockets and it's like they haven't been through it like you that you have to lose before you win 1000 yeah it just doesn't it's not just like oh we got the team and here it go no that's It just don't quite work that way. But we took our couple losses, you know, and he came in. And I'll tell you, man, when Steve came in, we were not, like, we weren't talking about championships. Yeah. Like, I remember, like, that just wasn't a thing.
2:27:23We weren't just talking. But sure enough, with what he brought, 30 games in we were because we realized how dominant we were. Yeah. And we had this belief and we knew we had a guy that knew it.
2:27:38PFT Commenter:Right? And so then it was like, okay, you start. But he didn't walk through the door talking about winning a championship. Right. And I now understand why he didn't. I didn't then. But now I do. Because it's so cliche. When I hear some of these guys talking about winning championships, they just get in the media and be like, oh, yeah, I want to win a championship. I'm going to do this and win a championship. I just be sitting there shaking my head. So I'm like, you don't have a clue. You don't know how to do it. I don't even know why you're sitting here talking about it. You don't know how, right?
2:28:11Like, that is one of the most important things in doing it is the know-how. The reason LeBron James made it to all those finals in a row, not because his team was that great. He knew how. Right. Right? Like, the reason we went to five in a row, once we did it, we then knew how. You know, like, it is so vitally important. The Spurs. They kept getting back, and you think they're done, and they knew how to do it. It is the most underrated thing when it comes to winning a championship, and quite honestly, it's so underrated because most people haven't won. So they don't know that you need that thing, but you have to have that.
2:28:50Big Cat:So how do you stop OKC from repeating? Because we've penciled them in for the next three champions. They have every draft pick ever in every draft moving forward. We've just said, okay, this is about the start of their dynasty right now. How would you stop OKC? I think you have to ultimately decide what it is that's going to beat you. Is it Shea that's going to beat you? Or is everyone else going to beat you?
2:29:19And if you don't pick one, they all going to kick your ass. But if you pick one, I think that's the way to survival. So if I say I'm throwing all my guys at Shea, he ain't doing it. Everybody else got to do it. Lou Dort. Caruso. And if they beat you that way, it is what it is. Live with it, yeah. But you have to pick one. Yeah. And I feel like for them, no one ever picks one. It's like Shea's doing what he's doing. Everyone else is doing what they're doing. You have to pick one. And if you don't, they're too good of a team when you just allow them to run their patterns and do what they do. They're too comfortable with that now.
2:30:07So you have to make them do something else. And the something else is one of y 'all are going to beat me. Shea, you're going to beat me, but it's going to be just you. or the other guys y 'all gonna beat us and it ain't gonna be Shea but I don't teams aren't doing like why does Shea never get trapped why does Shea hardly ever get double teamed like why it's a good question Caruso
2:30:39PFT Commenter:he'll kill you but then kill me yeah and beat me four times yeah there's this story that's been out Derek White saying what I said in the NBA finals. What did you say? What did he say that you said? He said that I said in my interview after game one, like Derek White not going to beat us from three. Derek White then got in the gym and he came back next year. He could beat you from three. But I knew right then and there in that series, he's not beating us from three. Right. If it's going to take that Marcus Smart, Derek White, and Al Horford to combine for 17 threes in a game to beat us, I don't think they're doing that four times.
2:31:18Right? And so, to your point of Caruso, then the thing has to be, okay, if he beat us one game, you can't just fold and change it tomorrow. Yeah. Because your bet is, is he going to do that four times? He will. And that's ultimately what it boils down to. In most cases, this is just not – this isn't a Caruso thing. This is just in general. In most cases, the answer is no. Because the guy who can beat you four times is the star.
2:31:53PFT Commenter:Yeah. Because that's what they do, right? The guy who's like, oh, man, he's just had a good game, very rarely are they the ones beating you four times. It don't really happen like that.
2:32:02Big Cat:Yeah. That's a good point. With those other guys, there's been a lot of different people that have come in and out of this Warriors run that you've had. if you were to make a Mount Rushmore like the top four role players that have contributed to this extended period of success who would you put up there? I'm a role player, right? Well, no, no, no. You're the core. Oh, okay. You're the core of...
2:32:26PFT Commenter:You, Clay, Steph, KD are the core. Yeah, yeah. Andre. Yep. Sean Livingston. Jarrett Jack. Okay. Interesting.
2:32:44And I would say our centers, a mix of Bogut, Zaza, Javel McGee, our centers were extremely important for us because they gave us the versatility to be able to switch out of the small lineup. And when you go to the small lineup, it's more dangerous because you can't prepare for it the whole game. You got to prepare for this other style of play too. Other style of play is dangerous as well. Having the lob threat, Zaza wasn't quite the lob threat, but Bogan and JaVale McGee, lob threats. And that, I always tell people, when you have a great lob threat, a great lob threat is no different. It does no different for your spacing than a great three-point shooter.
2:33:29Because a great lob threat, you can't leave their body. You leave their body, it's up in the air, and it's a 95 % completion rate. You know, a great three-point shooter, Klay Thompson, if you go help on that role, you ain't getting back to him on the shot. It's the same thing for a great lob threat. If you leave that guy body while I'm coming downhill, I'm putting that ball in the air, there's a 0 % chance you can recover. Yeah. Right? And so I would say our centers because they were great lob threats. And then, like I said, Zaza wasn't a great lob threat, but he set a tone. Like Zaza, when Zaza was on our team, David West too would be in this group as well.
2:34:11Like they just always set a tone for us. When those guys were on our team, I wasn't the guy that just had to set the tone. You know, I wasn't the guy that, you know, if somebody need to be put on their ass, I have to do it. At that time, I wasn't the guy that always had to do that, you know, because we had sinners who were tough as hell that they would do that, you know. And so I would say a mixture of the group of centers would be the forefront of my rush.
2:34:36Big Cat:That's fair. I used to, I love watching JaVale McGee. He's liable to do anything on the court at any given time. He's one of the best live threats I've ever played with. Yeah. Like by far. Like even if you threw JaVale McGee alive and he couldn't dunk it, a lot of live threats would just let it fly to bounds. He would still grab it and come down with it. And that's so important. Like he's one of the best live threats I've ever played with by far.
2:35:00PFT Commenter:All right, Draymond, I got one last question. This has been so much fun. We really appreciate you giving us the time. Rowback question, RHOBACK.com, promo code TAKE. 20 % off your first purchase, Q-Zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts, rowback.com, promo code TAKE. So we started the whole show interview talking about podcasting. Everyone go subscribe, Draymond Green Show, great show. We'd love to have you back on anytime, especially talk playoffs. I do have to say, though, thank you, because you were actually an important part of this show. And we've been doing it for 10 years now. But one of our first segments we used to do was PR 101, where we would try to help out athletes, maybe get in a weird bind.
2:35:39PFT Commenter:And I remember vividly, I think it was the summer of 2016, it being like, oh, this hit. And it was because you may have gotten hacked on Snapchat. Do you remember that? and we said that the move because you said you got hacked and then you said you didn't get hacked and our take was if you say you get hacked you need to just go full hack just stay with you start like tweeting like swastikas and like crazy shit and crypto scams and just be like look i'm actually hacked you should have done that you know the problem with it is i was so drunk i don't know I don't know if my mind could have gone there at that time.
2:36:16Man, we were in Houston. And it was Olympic time. That's when we were on that tour. We played a game in LA, we played a game in San Francisco, we played a game in Chicago. We were playing a game in Houston, then we were headed to Rio from Houston. It's a closer flight from anywhere else in America, Miami or Houston. And man, I had been drinking all night. I was going to bed for like 45 minutes. It happens.
2:36:48I realize it happens. And I'm going into this meeting. We have a team meeting. And I deleted it, but I'm in this whole... You know it's not deleted yet. I'm in this meeting fucking sweating bullets, man. I don't know what's about to happen coming out of this meeting, but God damn it. and um you know it just did not feel good lying and saying i was hacked yeah because it was clear
2:37:16PFT Commenter:you weren't hacked it's not me man but if you had done rpr you would have been hacked i should have i could have just covered up with a bunch of random shit that's like oh fuck draymond's hacked yeah right ps5 giveaway yeah right you're one you're one thousand percent hacked but you You know, hacked is the first thing everyone says. Oh, always. You got to do that. It's the natural response. Yeah, because most hackers do hack into phones and they're like, I'm going to tweet out a picture of Draymond's dick. I know, man. It was brutal. That was a brutal time. I'll give you a funny story about that time in my life.
2:37:49It was a tumultuous time in my life. Suspended from game five of the NBA Finals.
2:38:01Lose the NBA Finals. get arrested for slapping the shit out of someone in East Lansing, Michigan. And then that happened. That was all. That was, yeah. Two and a half weeks, man. Yeah. And I remember after the fourth one, Bob Myers called me and said, okay, you done now? Yeah. So you're done. He said, I've been letting you live. I came and sat and watched the game with you while you were suspended from game five of the finals just tell me are you done I said Bob that's it I'm done
2:38:43Big Cat:I hit for the cycle I'm about to head to the Olympics win me a gold medal but I'm done nothing else for me right now I'm done but that was a funny time it was treacherous It's like boom, boom, boom. When it rains and pours, defs comes in threes, mine came in fours. It was brutal, man. A brutal time.
2:39:08PFT Commenter:Yeah, you should just, now you know. If you ever get hacked again, just keep going with it.
2:39:12Big Cat:I keep like five different pictures of other men's penises on my phone. So in case I ever send out mine, I just put the other ones up there and they don't know which one's mine. Yeah. Yeah. I think they're going to know which one you're with.
2:39:27PFT Commenter:The problem is now though, You can't. I do the fake hack thing. Like, if one of my teams loses, I'll tweet out, like, giving away a PS5. But now Twitter will actually, like, lock your account. I got my account locked last time. Really? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think it was last March Madness when the Badgers lost in the tournament. I did, like, giving away a PS5, and they kicked me out of my account for 24 hours. Twitter did? Yeah. And it was all. I knew I was doing it. I was tweeting, like, you know, please sign up. You know, free. I'm giving away three PS5s to prove, like, to show that I'm hacked so that people will stop being mean to me online.
2:40:05PFT Commenter:And then they're like, you must be hacked. And they kick me out. You know what? You must be the Draymond Green of Twitter. Because I've gotten some texts that I've seen guys get texts. I've gotten texts for a lot less. and it seemed like I've seen people tweet way worse things yeah yeah they got strict on it and not get kicked off you got kicked off for a lot less that's brutal
2:40:36Big Cat:it's just because they thought he was hacked
2:40:38PFT Commenter:not because they're sick of you well mine's just the opposite this has been awesome though thank you so much for giving us the time and like I said we'd love to have you back on anytime and congrats on everything congrats on getting traded to Milwaukee you're going to love it there welcome back yeah you know the bay cheese curds cheese does not sit well oh you're gonna get ready to learn cheese buddy you like beer you

2:42:00Big Cat:what jimmy v says like if you can laugh cry hug all in a day that was a great day yes you had the perfect basketball it's the perfect day y 'all barstool right yeah i fucking hate dave dave hate dave portland okay all right cool go on oh i think he made a shirt that said draymond is a That's why I hate him. Yeah, that's fair. That's a fair rivalry. And then you know what? I found out he was a Michigan guy. Yep. He calls you little bro a lot. A lot. What a clown.
2:42:28PFT Commenter:You love saying little bro. I love that. You know what's crazy? As much as I hate him, I actually appreciate how he goes about his shit. Yeah, well, you guys are, I mean, you guys both speak your mind. I love how he goes about, I fucking hate that guy. I love how he goes about his shit, man. I even watch I even watch his one bite pizza review I love how he goes about his shit man I can't fucking stand that guy I guess that's how people feel about me huh probably why I fucking hate this guy
2:43:04Big Cat:Draymond Green was brought to you by our great friends over at Twisted Tea Twisted Tea baby it's tea season Twisted Tea is refreshing hard iced tea made with real brewed tea and 5 % alcohol. What does your ideal big game look like with twisted tea? I think I would crack one pregame. I would crack one, actually, no, when the spread gets rolled out, you have your first twisted tea. Then you sit down on the couch, crack open the second one, maybe get one going in the second quarter, extra one at halftime, third quarter, put your fours up, another twisted tea. And then you got to keep one chilled for overtime, just in case have an overtime tea whether you're hanging out at a friend's house catching a game at the stadium or at the bar or if you're day drinking with your friends twisted tea is there to turn your big game day up a notch and make a good time a great time grab a refreshing twisted tea today and now here is scott zolak
2:43:59PFT Commenter:okay we now welcome on a very very very very special guest it's been way too long it is Scott Zolak he does everything he does Patriots games on the radio he does a radio show every single day it's number one rated midday show in the country number one in the country we're simulcast and all that we don't have your outreach obviously with podcasts my producer Tom 137th last week 137th what were you two?
2:44:28Big Cat:you're in the top 140 though that's where you want to be
2:44:30PFT Commenter:yeah so it's Scott Zolak here and he's here We're back, man. The Patriots are back in the Super Bowl, so let's start with that. Did you – there's no way you expected the Super Bowl this year. Going into the season, let me take you back to August. Okay. What did you think this season was going to be? We thought that they would be somewhat of a – okay, so the over and under on the team, I think it was, what, seven? Yeah. I said they'll be somewhere around eight or nine because we were in games a year ago. We only won four, but we didn't know how to win. They weren't well coached, and that's no slap at Gerard.
2:45:01But we got Mike, and you saw the type of staff he's putting together. Like, Doug Marone's a former head coach in the league. He's a line coach. He's got three assistants with him. Josh has an assistant. Josh has been here forever in New England. He's going to his ninth Super Bowl. Crazy. So, like, if you knew – we knew Drake was good. We didn't know Drake was this good.
2:45:17PFT Commenter:Yeah. Yeah. And then at what point in the season were you like, oh, this is now – because, you know, there's been a lot of talk about the schedule. Right. But they kept on answering, I think, the Bills game on that Sunday night football game. That got it started. Yeah. That Sunday night, Buffalo got it started because he out-dueled Josh Allen. Okay, the jump started because then we had a stretch of games, winnable games, and we just started stacking them. I think it was, what, 10, 11 in a row, and we got to Tampa. They said, well, if they win at Tampa, you know, Tampa's coming off the bye, then they really got a shot here.
2:45:46So we beat Tampa, and we get going again. Then we're up 21 points on Buffalo at home. We're thinking, this is it. Then Buffalo comes back, beats us. Now how they responded after that was Baltimore, and we beat Baltimore that Sunday night down there. I knew we had a shot at this thing. Yeah. Kind of shocking to think. They're a contender then. Yeah.
2:46:02Big Cat:Like, to start the season, you lose to the Raiders. That's wild to look back on. And the Steelers. Yeah. Well, the Raiders, like, especially considering how the season turned out in Las Vegas. That game sucked, man. So what do you know behind the scenes? Like, what happened after that game that kind of flipped the switch? So Mike said, I always ask Mike this, and he goes, it's second half Miami game. So Miami was week two. We never went in Miami. Because weird things happened down there. Even when Tom, you know, Tom would bleep the bed down there. Can we say shit? Fuck, fuck, fuck. Fuck, yeah.
2:46:31This is great. That's how you get number one. You got to be able to swear. See, we got to do this. That damn whatever regulation things we have on stupid ass radio. SEC, yeah. Yeah. How many times do you hit the bleep button? Oh, my God. Tom, how many, what, probably about once a week? I'll drop an F-ball. Twice a day. No, no, no. It's the F-ball. I'll the F-ball. I'll catch myself. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then they're like, nah, he let it get out. Yeah, let it fly here.
2:46:52Big Cat:So you fuck the bed down in Miami. And then what? Yeah, so like second half Miami, Romandre has that big catch. And we come back and Mike said, you know what? I got something here. And then it was the ability of the guys to believe in him and trust him. And I think that's the biggest thing is, you know, I remember just covering it with Bill and Tom for 20 years. We were a machine. You know, we're number one seed every year. It wasn't like where are we going to play, how are we going to play, where are you going to play a team, like which team are you going to get second round, right to the divisional round.
2:47:18And it's automatic Super Bowl. Like I'm calling my sixth Super Bowl. Wow. So, I mean, like, you lose track of it, not to make fun of the Bears or anything, but you look at the beginning of your season, and, you know, you benched Caleb, what, a year ago? He didn't get benched. Soft benching. Yeah, soft benching. No, he didn't get benched at all. Well, kind of. No, he didn't. What are we talking about? Around the country, everybody's talking about he got benched.
2:47:39PFT Commenter:He played the whole season. What are you talking about? Did he get benched? Yeah, he didn't play that well, Tom. He didn't play well. He didn't have a coach. Mentally benched. But he did not. We never benched Drake May. Let the record show he never. But Drake May didn't start the season. Okay, so I have a lot of respect for him. Drake May was benched last year.
2:47:56Big Cat:Bench Caleb Williams? I had a lot of respect for Caleb as this year went on because, I mean, the comebacks. And to sort of play within a system, and he's such a system coach, obviously coming from Detroit. And at times, you've got to let these guys go out and make plays. We go through that with Drake because Josh is a real stismatic. You've got to do what we say. Eight-yard curl is an eight-yard curl. we're going to do rub routes, all this stuff. But the second Drake gets off containment, he's making plays nobody can make. And he makes plays with his feet.
2:48:24PFT Commenter:I mean, you saw it in the, was it the Chargers game where you had that big play at the end of the first half? Yep. And it's the AFC title game. If he doesn't run that sneak in him, I fucked this thing up. Yeah, that's okay. Max is just killing it right now. Is this high-tech equipment? It's pretty high-tech. You guys used to have the headsets on and stuff. I remember when we did this. What? I know it's been a long time. First Super Bowl I did with you guys. We were outside, I think, on the street, and we had the goldfish out there. Yeah, that's right. It was 2019. Jim Topsula, you guys had the credential.
2:48:54PFT Commenter:Yeah, you were in the back of the van that we had. Correct. Yeah. That one. Love that. I think Houston, too. I remember you went on the street. Houston went on the street. That's what I'm talking about with the goldfish. Yeah. Yes, yes, yes. You got enough chairs outside. The Houston Super Bowl party. We were saying before. Oh, my God. It was one of the best nights ever. So my wife comes out and meets every Super Bowl over the years. She doesn't even like the game. She likes to go to the party. So we would always do – I had a guy, Jordan Burchette, who I worked with at CSTV. He was one of the content guys at Maxim.
2:49:22So we always had the end at the Maxim party. Maxim party was like the best party. Playboy party got overstacked with dudes. Like, you know, you had – no, seriously. You get the naked servers with, you know, they have paint on their body. But there's like one of those compared to like 500 guys. Too many dudes. And then after about eight Playboy parties, he said, this is enough. But I thought like the best Maxim party was at the Fairmont, the undefeated year we were there. That was a good one. And I've been to all of them. I've been to all those. And the Barstool Party in Houston. It really was.
2:49:51Was that Ja Rule? Ja Rule and Ashanti. Yeah. That was our first party. What does he say? Every thug need. Oh, that's DMX? Every thug need a lady. It is, right? That's a pretty good impression. Ja Rule. Dave's like, he's late. What should I do? Dave's up there, and he's like, you know, taking the things. And the best moment of the night, Dave taps me on the shoulder, and he goes, Tony Romo's calling me. He's like, two blocks away in line. What should I do? I go, let him stay there. this is great yeah it was the literally the greatest yeah ability to get liquor and we had that private area in the back and i don't know if you guys remember the private area was elevated yep there was a curtain there but there was it dropped off the wall and i think um it was uh uh blake portals and jared goff one of them ended up falling off the thing we had them we had them
2:50:36PFT Commenter:we'd tell the story but they all came back to the house after and i remember the next morning jared called me and was like, hey, where's Blake? And I was like, what do you mean, where's Blake? How the fuck would I know where he is?
2:50:47Big Cat:They almost burned down the house that we were in. We got the pizza rolls out late night for them. That's right. Talk about sponsorship. Tortino's everywhere. That's all you guys ate that way. They were trying to figure out how to use the oven, and the two of them couldn't figure out how to use the oven. And so it ended up just smoking out the whole kitchen. We had to step in and be like, no, you gotta turn this temperature down. It was like 500 degrees. Like a 16-year-old kid.
2:51:08PFT Commenter:And Blake Bortles watched Dave get head. Shut up. Yeah. Was that the one video Dave had on? No, no, no, not the video. That's a federal crime zone. What you just said is a federal crime. Hank, Hank, you can't find that online anymore. What you just said is a federal crime. I'm talking about the fact that we had a house. I said to everyone who said what Dave wanted. I'm like, that's not Dave. No, his room was off to the side. And Blake was in the backyard and Dave forgot to put the blinds down.
2:51:36Big Cat:Yeah. I think Dave did that intentionally. I don't know that that story has ever been told before. street cred who's gonna believe it right yeah yeah yeah what a video that was with dave oh man
2:51:46PFT Commenter:federal crime we'll lock you up right now no you it's a federal crime to watch that i didn't watch it you just said you saw somebody did told me about it you've been looking for it so why was that federal crime no that was just the joke okay anyone who spreads it it's a federal crime you never know yeah the brady thing i remember that back in the day now that was different it is so funny that like you look back you're like that's just a blip on the radar like oh yeah our boss had like multiple sex tapes yeah like oh yeah whatever exactly cool yeah that party was incredible and then we the minnesota one sucked and then we just stopped doing it you said you know what we're gonna sell it to corporate i remember minnesota the minnesota one was terrible oh it was bad i got there like it's all again it's all turned into a playboy party it was also
2:52:26Big Cat:like five degrees outside the line was outdoors that city sucked it was tough yeah yeah um i got a question about the game because we have we have hank who's a resident doctor this week yeah so No, it's Dr. Hank, and he's reporting that Drake made his shoulders fine. That it's totally fine. I saw him before the rally. I think he's good to go. Did you high-five him? I don't ask him about it. He had to read between the lines with stuff. I played with guys, obviously, bloodstone, guys that had shoulder stuff. You can tell when they're hurt, when they're stuff. What I will do watching this game is I will watch it more intently.
2:52:57So I'll watch once the pass is gone. Then I look to where's the route, what's the coverage, trying to help the people on the radio with that because we sort of got to paint the picture. But I'll be staring at him to see how he gets up after every hit. If it's like, if a guy moves over to the side, I went back and watched the whole Denver stuff. They were like, everybody says it happened on the one Ramondre throw overthrow where they missed a blitz pickup. There's about 10 shots in that game where it could have happened. And I don't see him get up weird in any of them. At any point, man, we're 17 regular games into it.
2:53:25You got the bye week, three playoff games. You're playing 20-plus games. Everyone's back up. Everybody's sore. And I think Vrabel's handled it the right way to sort of just, Leave it out there for everyone.
2:53:35PFT Commenter:So give me, let's do best case, worst case scenario. Best case, obviously the Patriots win, but how do they win? What does that game look like? It's him becoming the MVP. It's Drake Mech. It's got to be the way we won games at the first half of the year, because I think we're two different teams now. First half of the year, Drake was just carrying people. And, you know, you look at our receivers, Booney, Pop Douglas, Diggs, who I love, former Maryland guy, Fear the Turtle. We got good tight ends. You know, Hunter Henry's a good tight end. Our backs are good, Ramondre and Henderson. But we're not superstars.
2:54:05The best thing about us when you come to the line of scrimmage if you're a defensive coordinator, who's our one? We don't have one. You're right. Like Drake will throw it to anybody. Right. Or Stafford's got, you know, Devontae Adams, Puka, all these guys. That guy's got like true ones around him. And I love the whole MVP talk thing because everyone's like, well, Drake will be back. You never know if he'll be back. I played with Marino. 23, Danny went to a Super Bowl, never got back.
2:54:27PFT Commenter:Yeah. So you're never sure that you'll ever have the ability. Brady even said that. Oh, but he's buddies with Stafford. so all those guys are going to vote for him yeah but alright so then the way you win this game is he's got to play you know two touchdowns 250 like I don't think he threw for 300 until week 14 or 15 this year never had a 300 yard game
2:54:47Big Cat:I actually didn't know that until he did it and then Hank was like hey that's the first time he threw for 300 yards but he hits on 73 % of his throws except on third and six do you know about that?
2:54:56PFT Commenter:no I don't know that oh you gotta say that if you're painting the picture from the radio audience
2:54:59Big Cat:let me give you a little nugget you like nuggets? yes Okay, so Drake may – Did you look these up or did they hand him? No, no, this is real. We dive deep into the numbers on this show. So obviously great quarterback, MVP-type season, completion percentage off the charts, except on third and six. On third and six, he is the worst in the league since he's gotten into the league. He's connecting on like 25 % of the passes. So you're factoring in last year's two. Yeah, between over the last two years – That's fair. He's 25 % completion percentage on third and six. Have you looked up the numbers? Third and seven, he's really good.
2:55:32Big Cat:again yeah third and five he's really good third and six is kryptonite you remember that scramble play that he had to seal the game against denver that was on the third and six he wisely chose not to throw it and he took off with his feet because he knows the completion percentage really bad the uh sack fumble that he's processing like mike i gotta i gotta say six is his one weakness so if he can limit the mistakes on third and six i think you have a great shot i think third and six and under it's such a tweener down yeah yeah they got his head like we don't want you to take him off We don't want you taking off.
2:56:00It's almost like you wait, you wait, look. I just think open him up on third short. Like third short, give him his legs. Like when he recognizes his man and he's gone, he's got this weird. Remember Eric Dickerson would be upright. Drake's like so upright. We call him Bambi. I call him Bambi. Because it looks like he's going to get croaked and he just glides right by people. It's unbelievable.
2:56:18PFT Commenter:All right. So then how does this game go south? What does it look like if the Seahawks? Because Seahawks are really, really good. They're really good. But Sam Darnold, I think, is Sam Darnold. Oh. Is that good or bad, though? So, are you – For our defense, it is on the rise right now. Defend's been incredible. Playing their best football. You're not playing a scrambling guy. You're not playing a guy that breaks containment. For defense and guys like Chazon and Jennings on the edge and Milt Williams in the middle of Barmore, to understand that he's going to be five and a half yards directly behind center or seven and a half.
2:56:48He's never going to be outside the tackle box. He's a dropback quarterback. It's what you want as a defense to play and ultimately the biggest game ever. And you got to attack him. I think they're going to go after him early in this game. I think that's how you win this game from the Patriots perspective. Drake plays great. We're able to get to Darnold early because he will give you one or two. I've seen it before with the Jets.
2:57:07PFT Commenter:Are you scared a little bit about the Seahawks defense? Because the Patriots offense does not look great in the playoffs, but they played really good defenses. Because everybody keeps saying they're Legion of Boom 2.0 to me. Man, when I did Super Bowl XLIX, that was my most favorite call, favorite game. We were down, what, 10, 14 in the second half. We never ran the ball. It was Brady and Vereen and Edelman and Gronk. And that defense, I knew every guy inside and out, every name. I knew Weatherspoon. You know a couple of these other guys that they have. Veteran guys that have been around Lawrence.
2:57:39The other nine guys, I'm still going to study them. Yeah, I was just saying, aren't you calling the game? They're dangerous. Well, the play-by-play guy has got to know more. I mean, I'm basically – Yeah, you're right. What happened?
2:57:48PFT Commenter:When do you start – when do you actually start, like, where are you going to crunch on Wednesday? Well, also on game day, we get to the stadium six hours prior to kick. So then you can just learn everyone's name. Boom, boom. Yeah, I'll be able to tell you everything inside out. Yeah. I have photographic memory. They said photographic and pornographic memory.
2:58:03Big Cat:Really? No, I was kidding. Wait, so that Patriots Super Bowl, the Patriots Seahawks Super Bowl that you're talking about, what was your call on the very last play of the game? How did you react? Because I don't think I've seen that. Oh, there was a Malcolm Butler one. You can replay it too. I was cackling like the thing. I go, it's got to be the worst call in Super Bowl history. You got a running back who wears number 24, and you drop back pass. You deserve to lose the Super Bowl. That's how it went off. So obviously that call goes everywhere. It's almost like the unicorn show ponies wear the beef.
2:58:34Yeah. Where's the beef call? So we're getting back on Tuesday to do the parade. And we're all inside, and we're at the TV studio, and the team's over there. And Belichick comes in, and we have to take our last roundup thing. And he goes, hey, come here. I want to show you something. He goes, I heard your call. It's the worst call in Super Bowl history to drop back past here. And he pulls up a third down play from earlier in the game where Patriots couldn't stop it. So they were in regular base personnel, and beast mode on a third one. He went off left side, and I think he gained seven yards on third and short.
2:59:09So there was one time other in the game where they went goal line on a third and one, and they pinned him back. It was a tackle for a loss. I think it was Hightower. They actually got the tackle for a loss, and it was a two-yard loss on third and one. So he said, I remember that. So we went. That was the Malcolm go play. So it went only two DBs, and it was goal line. And he was looking across, and they went regular personnel. And this is when Ernie Adams knew that they drew up when they went stacked to that one side with short motion. They're running that pick rub play on the outside. Malcolm didn't play it well in practice, but he knew Browner.
2:59:41You could see Browner telling him, here's the thing when they were out there prior to the snap, jam your foot and go on this. And that's what he did. He just drove on it. I don't even think he read it. Yeah. I think he jumped up before the rally even started. Yeah. Bill just said, just so before you know it, like we, our defense made them throw it there. It was probably a check with me where you get up there and you look and, oh crap, they're going to shut this down. let's throw it because it was man-to-man outside. Right, right. So just be careful. But that's Bill being Bill. Like, that's little things that you don't appreciate being around one of the greatest minds ever.
3:00:09Do you think you should be in the Hall of Fame? Oh, Jesus Christ. It's an embarrassment. So how would you like to go to the Hall of Fame this year and have that asterisk next year? That's what I was saying. The year Bill Belichick was not automatic.
3:00:18Big Cat:It kind of sucks for the people that did get in because it's a celebration of their careers. They've all been amazing athletes, amazing football minds, and they're deserving of getting in the Hall of Fame. But this whole ceremony is just going to be like, where's Bill? You just said it. This is based on your career and your accolades and what you've done. This isn't a personality contest. Bill's a tough guy to be around. You know, hey, it was great with me, but, like, I've seen him be a curmudgeon of people, and I understand why that would rub people the wrong way. So say you even take two of the Super Bowl's wave.
3:00:47Oh, it's the Flategate and Spygate. It's all joke. I love that, like, the Spygate stuff happened. We all thought that was a joke at the time because nothing was applied to the games. You couldn't do that within a play in 11 seconds to say, ooh, we picked your signal up. you actually know what the play call is and we're going to get ahead of them defensively it doesn't make any sense so like the next year they throttled teams that's that was the undefeated yeah with randy and then spy gate or deflate gate you know tom had the regular ball and that's
3:01:11PFT Commenter:you got the best of tom brady after after deflate gate yeah with a non-deflated football take two super bowls away from bill he's still in there with four as a head coach and two with the giants he's got eight total and he's still at that's still a resume to get in first ballot guys like Kim Brady, Manning, shoot, Marino. You just stand up. You don't even have to make a case. Say the name automatically in first ballot. It is pretty crazy. Now, being around Mike Vrabel, can you see some of the things that Belichick was good at that he's also good at? Some of it. Mike Vrabel reminds me of Parcells.
3:01:45Okay, tell us. More of a motivator of knowing how to work with 53 different backgrounds of life when you come together at one time. Knowing how to push every guy's butt. Some guys, you need to have their balls broken, and you can get after their ass. And some guys are going to lay off because, hey, they're brought up in an easier environment. They kind of turtle. His energy is insane. I remember coming in the mornings with Parcells, and he'd be out there having one of those old styrofoam coffee cups, his bike shorts pulled up to his nipples because that's the way they always used to wear the old coaches with the spot belt shoes.
3:02:15Hey, honey, how was last night? And this is in the mid-90s. I go, wow, what do you mean? Well, how was Daisy Buchanan? I said, I don't know you were there with so-and-so and so-and-so. I said, how the hell do you know this? There was no internet. You know, there was no cell phones when I played in the 90s. so we got you get away with literally anything we dropped off jumped off a stage at the everclear concert some girl broke her neck but that was what pete carol if we did that with parcells our asses would have been glass like we would have been blutzow would have been safe but he probably would have got after our ass yeah he knows i'm the one who pushes the buttons yeah so he he was tracking you yeah tracking us but like vrables like that he is aware of everything because he's actually like the trade deadline i didn't say like anything about the team not doing a move but he's like i get tagged because you're on a certain oh yeah you had you got caught by ai right oh that was another thing with drake yeah what was that oh so you want to do the ai story yeah let's do both we'll do ai because he came out rabel came after you twice let's do the rabel thing first okay all right yeah because you never like he's like yeah sometimes reporters you know that because like sometimes they don't get things right you're you're you're you're a testament to that no we get everything oh great yeah and then uh we were doing radio the next week after the trade deadline he goes hey before we do this this is what you do you go on air and you shit all over this or we say this and that but I'm like Mike I didn't say anything like my defense was I wouldn't give up a one or two or three or anything because this roster is so depleted talent like you need those picks and everybody was like give up two ones to go get like who's the receiver from Philly what's out AJ Brown AJ Brown yeah sorry just mental blank but Mike's like they're not going to trade for AJ right now but I'm like yeah so why would everybody why would you guys give up two first round picks so I sort of get lumped in with the station because we're other guys are critical on the station but uh but like the fact he even knows that stuff he's got the antennas up so he's kind of in control of everything so to the ai story um you got duped by i played against mark may his dad his dad was at carolina i was in maryland his dad was a quarterback at carolina i was a quarterback obviously in maryland so we were off by like two years but so i was talking to his dad a lot after his rookie year and you know when they would come up and i'd see him at games so he kind of knew and And I knew the background when Ann Michael, his wife, current wife.
3:04:21Current wife. Current wife. His wife. His first wife? Stupid, yeah. His wife. God, the bacon stuff's awesome. Like the stuff she did with David at. Great cookies. So the whole story was they'd been together forever, since middle school, since elementary, and it's one of your ultimate love stories. So I'm sitting there and I'm on – so, oh, so I get kicked off Twitter. I've been banned from Twitter for this Super Bowl because it's in that freaking erector set out in the Six Flags parking lot. I said, I can't believe this shithole got another Super Bowl. Because this is like so spread out. Look where we're at.
3:04:52We're downtown taping this. Instead of being up in Santa Clara when the game's an hour away. Yeah. You got to go here. You got to go there. Traffic's a nightmare. And I'm like, I can't believe this city's getting another Super Bowl. And I put it on Twitter. But I said the word Super Bowl. And I said, at 49ers. Another shit. And someone 49ers alerted the league. League got in touch with Twitter. Suspended me. Since Elon Musk bought it, I can't get my Twitter handle back.
3:05:18Big Cat:So I've been on Twitter for a year because of where the hell this Super Bowl is. Okay. I like how you tagged the 49ers in that tweet. Like, fix this. Yes. Well, hey, you know where I'm from? Obviously, people know who I am. We don't want to come back here. Go around the stadium. Look at all – they have banners up all around it because it's all like girders underneath. It looks like Penn State. Yeah. It's not a great stadium. It really isn't. It's not one of your previous stadiums. So back to the AI. So my ability to not digest any news from Twitter and not have an ad, I go to Facebook. I'm on Facebook and Instagram.
3:05:48So I love Facebook. What are you laughing at? What, you're not Facebook? So I'm reading this story. Drake made his wife at their wedding decided to donate back to the homeless shelter back home in North Carolina, the kids' schools and this and that. And I guess they messed her name up the wrong way. And there were things that just didn't line up. but I read it. I just thought who would try and dupe somebody on this? Like that's a great story. Right. That's a great human story. We live in a day and age now where everything sucks. No, right. Oh, we're out to get this person, that person.
3:06:19Big Cat:I follow one of those accounts on Facebook. It's like Patriots fans Indonesia and they had a story on there that they were going to name their son Foxborough. Their first son.
3:06:30PFT Commenter:You should double check. You've been to Foxborough. You should look into that. Yeah. Wait, so you get duped by AI. So I get duped. So I believe it. I didn't contact our show or our producers. He's saying over there, Beatle, and we're on air, and I'm like, oh, by the way, did you guys see that cool story? Drake's donated all the stuff, and somehow it took off at TMZ. He got it. This one got it. You guys had it, I think. And what was weird is I wasn't getting calls on it from national people. I didn't go on it to break news on it. I wasn't reporting it. I said it casually on our show, and I guess Mr.
3:07:04Kraft gave him a really, really good gift for the wedding. Oh. And I guess he heard about, like, tell me this isn't true. And I guess Drake had called in or something. Like, did you donate everything? And he's like, it's not the case. I saw Drake in preseason. I'm like, hey, so I guess no, I get it. Like, people get full. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It sucks. I bet nothing by it, you know? Yeah, you're right. AI sucks. Yeah, I agree.
3:07:25Big Cat:I agree. Wait, I - You know what trouble you get in right now with AI? A lot, a lot. It's probably good that you don't have your Twitter account. There's a lot of AI in there. Yeah. I got in trouble for a Kelsey tweet one time when the Texans were kicking her ass in a playoff game, and I just started hammering Kelsey, and I was drunk at some bar. And you just start saying things you don't want to say. Yeah. But I had no problem putting it in print, ever. Yeah, it happens. It happens. Wait, you were talking about Drew Bledsoe a second ago. I want you to tell the Drew Bledsoe story where you, like, thought that you were the man at that time.
3:07:55Big Cat:Oh, yeah. So he never got hurt. I backed him up for eight years. Fucking guy never get hurt. Now, all of a sudden, he claps his lung for Brady when Brady's there after what, one year? Fucking luck. Born on third base, yeah. So Bluntz would have all these hits. He'd split, you know, he'd split his skin here. We'd see bone and that. We'd have fun on the sidelines. I remember Ted Johnson ripping his bicep and it would curl up. And I got to like pull it up and down. Oh, it's great. That's the stuff you appreciate, war wounds. So Drew broke his finger, hit it off a helmet. And it was the tip of his finger in his throwing hand.
3:08:27It was just shattered. So they put pins in it. And I hear, yes, I hear this news. I'm like, oh, man, that sucks. I'm like, yes, fuck yeah. We have like three games left to go with that. And so they end up putting me into that. I start playing. And I play like one game. And then next thing I know, no, no, no, no. I didn't play immediately after that. So the Friday after he broke it, we're at practice. And I see the doctors talking to him. They're like, well, let me ask you this. If we numb the finger up and we put a splint on the back of it, do you want to think, do you want to try and see if you can throw the ball?
3:08:58I'm like, fuck no, he doesn't want to do that. but I remember you talk about toughness he's one of the toughest guys I better everybody says Grogan Grogan was obviously a tough guy but Drew had to be held down like this with three of the doctors because they had to shoot up each individual joint in the finger so they and I had the third third degree high ankle sprain and the way they shoot it up is they get the needle into the joint but they move the needle until it hits the nerve and that's when they release the medicine so they had to wait for him to like clench like that I hear him screaming in there they shoot it up it's numb and there's a there's a metal uh piece of wire sticking out the tip of his finger so he starts throwing and i'm like jesus christ he's got more rotation on his football than normal and he said yeah because it's the the wire digging into the football that's the last thing that's the last thing to leave the football when he throws it i'm like jesus christ it's like a freaking ball steroids steroids steroids you know like this guy can't stop him so about two games it holds up but Then one of the games, the thing ends up falling apart.
3:09:59I end up starting the last couple games of the year. So thank God.
3:10:02PFT Commenter:You mentioned Dan Marino. You backed him up for a year. One year, yep. Datings for Pittsburgh. I feel like Dan Marino doesn't get enough credit because, you know, obviously he didn't win a Super Bowl. But, like, sometimes I'll just be scrolling Twitter. Sorry not to rub it in, but I still have my account. And there'll be, like, a Dan Marino highlight. And I'll be like, holy fuck. Oh, my God. I said it to these guys, reels all the time. But he does, like, a nine-step drop back. Oh, dude. Yeah. It was like, I remember the one year, Bledsoe and him was our opening day down in Miami. It was a monsoon.
3:10:29One guy threw five touchdowns. Dan threw five touchdowns, four to Irving Fryer. We threw three to coach. And it was just an up and down, like 500 yards offense. It was unbelievable. Danny threw the ball better than anybody I've ever seen. The release. And it was crazy. But we went to parties at his house. We had Damon Hewitt, Rondae Gatson, Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor. We go in and Danny would have this massive table outside. He put all these stone crabs over him. Joe's would send him up all the time from down in Miami. But he had this guest house in the back. And this weirdo would look out the top of it.
3:11:00He goes, yeah, that's Jim Jensen up there. Can't kick him out. He's been living there for like two years. This is like Dave and you guys, right? Like Blind Mike hanging out, or Hank. Hank's just hanging out at Dave's house. I remember those days when he first got in Nantucket. All the videos of Hank there. Or Gaz. Gaz is like legendary. Yeah, yeah. But Marino had this house out on a boat in the middle of Weston, out in Western Lauderdale. and he had a guest house out there but you had to go over to this bridge to get there. It was pretty freaking cool. You know, to be hanging out with Dan Marino.
3:11:30I know. He had this big wine cellar but his favorite wine, we all grew up in Pittsburgh we all had an uncle and he had Uncle Chucky who made wine in his bathtub and you know, he crushed it with feet and grapes and that and it just got you fucked up. We drank the wine and said try this. He got all these $30 ,000 bottles and like, yeah, we were getting high on Uncle Chucky's wine. That's awesome.
3:11:50PFT Commenter:I want to ask a question about Pittsburgh because it was We were laughing about it last week. Mike McCarthy gets hired. Yeah. Everyone freaks out. He's crying out there. Then he does the interview or the press conference. Nobody realizes he's from Pittsburgh. Yeah, and everyone's like, oh, fuck, we love this guy. This is great. The way he said Will Howard. Yeah. Will Howard. Yeah, all of them. So everyone's in on him. I grew up in Monongahela, right down the river. So there's three rivers, the Allegheny and the Monongahela form the Ohio, right at the point. I grew up down. My grandfather's worked in a steel mill.
3:12:21Stood in line with them getting government cheese when I was a kid. I remember that. But your only way out was to play ball, man. So my dad coached Montana in high school. I'm from Montana's high school. I was seven years old at the time, getting a kicking tee when Joe kicked off. I still have his chin strap from his final high school game. Didn't you have a football he gave you that you rubbed for good luck? When I was in Maryland, he gave me a football. I said, see you in the NFL one day, Joe Montana. So I used to take this ball before I first started rubbing 16 times. I did it from all my starts at Maryland.
3:12:48And then FedEx, like, hey, we got to do something here. We got to get this football. So FedEx did this big thing, went and got the ball before my first NFL start. We were 0-9, rubbed it 16 times. And I was the AFC player of the week. Wow. Fucking great. Wow. Yep. Shooting cards. I didn't know what I was doing.
3:13:03PFT Commenter:It is crazy the talent that's come out of that area. So just from our school, Stan Musial, for baseball people, he was from our hometown. My dad was from that school, but he was best friends with Ken Griffey-Seder. Okay. This is all in a town of 13 ,000 people. Yeah. But it was like that every town around that. Dick, Dorsett, Revis. uh nameth what is it what is it about that area that makes you good at sports iron city beer man you know it's you live it it's life sports is life you're born in every like all my friends you all have footballs in your cribs when you're born like that was a thing to do steal i had season tickets to stealer games with my dad like i remember four super bowls then with terry bradshaw we would go to three river stadium that's back when football was football and pittsburgh football's life yeah that's what it is it is there you know i was like the penguins they gotta tolerate them right now but there's no hoop team uh baseball team was great in 78 with woolly stargell and dave parker and uh marina like there were so many good guys back then but like we joke about how the the penguins in the in the pirates they have the same colors as the steelers just so that people can always like it about the steelers right yeah they're like oh it's just the it's just the hockey it's the it's the steelers on ice correct yeah i think a lot of bruids do it too because like hey maybe they think we're the steelers or something yeah i mean the black and the black and yellow black and yellow black and yellow it's pretty sick all right so i got one last question for you so this has been the best you're you're i mean you're zo this is i'm nuts hank might have a question for you too but uh no you're gonna get them in the party right that's not the question yeah we'll get it okay sure if we gotta do we had a dance off me him and dave had a ham off yeah it was good you gotta do it all right so roback question r-h-o-b-a-c-k dot com promo code take 20 off your first purchase q-zips polos hoodies joggers shorts roback.com I wear stuff on it all the time.
3:14:48PFT Commenter:It's incredible. The most comfortable stuff out there. It fits. Yeah, we'll get you some. Let's go. For being on the show. Love it. I like noble shoes too. Yeah, do you have a... And you love body armor? Oh, God, yeah. Yeah? You love Pepsi Zero Sugar? I drink nothing but diet. Yeah, there you go. Yeah, you love them all. You're heavy. You have to drink diet. All of our sponsors, give us a score prediction. Okay, it's the first time I've asked a score prediction. I'm taking a pass. Because the reason I'm taking New England is I've done these games for 14 years now. And no other season was there a game where they let go of the rope and they got blown out.
3:15:27Like, Brady would lose 45-3 in one game to where they're asking the head coach after the Kansas City game week four, would you reevaluate the quarterback position, Belichick. That was the oddest Cincinnati game after that. Like, those teams would lose bad at least one or two games a year. This team, like, we lost to the Steelers, should have won, but turned it over five times. Yep. Should have beat the Raiders in week one. You know, should have beat Buffalo. We're up 21. Should have swept them. They're that good. They're that sound. And I think they're going to get after Sam Darnold. I'm going 27-20.
3:15:59Okay. No, 27-23. All right, you got a first touchdown score? Armandre Stevenson. Okay. How did he work his way out of the doghouse? He was in the doghouse early this year. Mike had his back after the Miami game because the next week after that, he fumbled. Or no, was it an opening week he fumbled? Was it fumbles? And they said, well, are you going to bench him? He goes, no, we're going to need him. Why would I bench him? He's one of our best backs, one of our best guys on our team.
3:16:25PFT Commenter:Yeah. So Mike having those guys' backs when they screwed up in postgame and the next week when the press really couldn't ride him, that came from Andre confidence. And when Henderson got nicked up at the end of the year here, and he's fantastic as a rookie. Yeah. Ramondre, I think, is our second-half MVP. Runs it, catches it. It's unbelievable. So I think he's going to run it in from about the six. Why don't they give trivia on the ball more? Don't really need to. Yeah, but he's got that, like, explosive, you know. He's got to get outside. They've got to get him outside. Yeah. He's not the same between the tackles.
3:16:56Ramondre between the tackles is better.
3:16:57Big Cat:All right, let's get Hank here. Hank's got a question. We got Hank.
3:17:04Big Cat:I really didn't have a question.
3:17:05PFT Commenter:He's confident. Hank, you've got a question.
3:17:08Big Cat:Favorite Super Bowl after party out of the last three. I do remember that, Lil Wayne. I just remember when you said that. We were in the crowd in Atlanta with Lil Wayne blasting music, and you were going crazy. No, we went nuts. Yeah, but I think the 49 when they beat Seattle, here we go, rehashing the Seattle one. That was my favorite one to call. That was probably the best postgame party because they were on a long horse pass, and they had this big ranch out in the middle of nowhere, out past Arizona State, and there were four huge ballrooms. I think it was Pitbull, Rick Ross. Yep. Was it Janet Jackson?
3:17:42And who's the guy that takes his shirt off? Soly. Flo Router. Oh, okay. Flo Router. But the Gronkowski brothers were all with Flo Router. That was like, you went ballroom to ballroom. Everybody, we went nuts. That was awesome.
3:17:55Big Cat:Great question, Hank. Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. It's 28 to 3 coming back. That's where you and I lived it. Yeah.
3:18:01PFT Commenter:You guys did it up then? Yeah, we did it up. Yeah. Well, it's great having me on, guys. I appreciate it. Great having you, Zo. You're the best. I can't believe you've taken off so well. You guys are doing great. We love you, Zo. One of our favorite guests. Yeah, it's good. I'm a sucker for getting sponsored, too. Yeah. You can do everything by sponsorship, man. Yeah, we got you your road back. You know, you're damn good. I'm getting that. I'm getting some twisted teeth. Yeah, you're walking out of here with a lot of stuff. Thank you. I appreciate it.
3:18:24Big Cat:And we got a Chevy waiting for you downstairs. That's what I drive.
3:18:27PFT Commenter:Yeah, we go. GMC Chevy. Let's go. All right. Thanks so much. Love you guys. Thanks, man. okay let's wrap up the show we've got guys on hank by the way thank you to all the awls uh for purchasing pre-ordering the book on amazon you can still do that part of my book we got we were number one in the movers and shakers uh i think we were the number two overall ordered book on
3:18:52Big Cat:amazon all day yesterday that's awesome incredible so thank you guys please buy it it helps us we're
3:18:57PFT Commenter:gonna hopefully become new york times bestsellers and then we'll get a tattoo yep um but yeah thank you so much it's gonna be an awesome book and uh also greg olson's on the back cover because he he was like where how is how am i not on this i was like you are i think he's the only person that's publicly complained well he would have a fair complaint if he was not on the book i agree 100 and i was very nervous that we would left someone out but we didn't he's on it so we love
3:19:25Big Cat:them it's very cool though to to know that the awls want to read our stupid words yeah in addition to listen to them so thank you guys it really does mean we also added a we added a page last
3:19:35PFT Commenter:night at dinner rico bosco is going to include his uh very best blob set so if you're an aspiring coach this will also teach you basketball hank guys on hank i feel like i shouldn't be reading these you want me to read them i'll read them i can read them send the memes memes send it to me I think PFT should read them.
3:19:55Big Cat:I'll read everything you sent me. I think send them to PFT.
3:19:59PFT Commenter:I'll read them. Everything? Oh, he sent you the big black cock. Nice.
3:20:06Big Cat:I feel like most of these are going to be pro-Hank ones.
3:20:09PFT Commenter:Agreed.
3:20:10Big Cat:Because if you're a Patriots fan, you're probably sick of me. So it's probably going to be very mean for me. Let's see. Okay. Guys on Hank and also a giant cock that memes just sent me. just had a baby recently i know choices like parenting aren't as important as golf but what can i do to make sure my kid turns out to be a winner like hank golf more no i didn't start golfing until i was i was already a well-established winner i wouldn't
3:20:41PFT Commenter:say you're a winner at golf not not even close right so you should golf more at a young age
3:20:45Big Cat:if you want to be a winner at golf no i think you want to play a lot of sports i think in today's day and age with the modern day parenting and coaching, people are too focused on one sport.
3:20:54PFT Commenter:You gotta let your kid play everything. The ratio of your time spent golfing and how good you are is way off. I would disagree with that. I would not disagree with that. Lifetime. You played 67 rounds last year and you still aren't that good. Yes, he did. He said that. He said he's going for 80 this year. That's a lot of rounds. That's a lot of rounds.
3:21:15Big Cat:Do you think it's important to let your kids play every single sport but also right and left handed? Good question.
3:21:23PFT Commenter:Thank you. What are you? Max is getting into his calculator. Hold on. He's going to take off his shoes if he has to count to 20.
3:21:33PFT Commenter:Here we go. What is he doing?
3:21:37Big Cat:That's every five days. But it's actually less. But because of the winter. Winter.
3:21:42PFT Commenter:It's probably every third day he golfed. Guys can't have hobbies anymore?
3:21:47Big Cat:It's crazy. It's almost like we had two days off a week. Almost. And I golf. Every third day, though.
3:21:53PFT Commenter:Oh, I fucked it up. Oh, he fucked it up.
3:21:56Big Cat:How many rounds of play times did you do with your kid last year?
3:22:02Big Cat:It's probably a lot more.
3:22:04PFT Commenter:It probably is. I'm going for way more than 80.
3:22:07Big Cat:Hank, will you do a Soggy Sorrows if the Patriots lose? Oh, good question. I think he has to. Will PFT join you in Soggy Sorrows since he'd lose$40 ,000? I'm down. I'll do it. Same. Okay. Okay. perfect that means we're bringing it back for everyone
3:22:26who was the last one probably me was it never done one i did double doink i did the last one i remember doing was in the office last most recent new york office and i did the honk that's
3:22:41PFT Commenter:where honk was born okay so yeah you probably did do the last one all right so soggy sorrows is officially on the table.
3:22:48Big Cat:Hank seems like a dude who has never watched. Wait, wouldn't you have to do it either way, PFT? This question says, will PFT join you in Asagi Saro since he'd lose$40 ,000? But you would lose either way, so you should probably do it either way. I don't think that's fair. Like, I can't be playing both sides of this. You know what? I'll do it either way. I'll do it either way. That's fair. That's fair. I put myself in this situation. Yes, unless it's a tie. Yeah, if it's a tie, yeah, wow. Wow. Tying the Super Bowl. Tying the Super Bowl. Never been done. Would be incredible. Yeah. Hank seems like a dude who has never watched a single sporting event until the 2002 Super Bowl.
3:23:24Big Cat:Yeah, I was eight years old. Yeah. Fair. Fair. Fair retort. This guy nailed this one.
3:23:29PFT Commenter:Fair retort.
3:23:29Big Cat:Yeah. Hey, heartless Hank. That's mean. Ooh. Would you rather Drake May shit the bed this week and lose to Sam Darnold, but the Celts three-peat? Or Drake May kicks off the new Pats dynasty with a Super Bowl win, but Coach Missoula gets sent to the shadow realm and the celtics become a poverty franchise oh who was no one's sending missoula to the shadow realm so that's that's an impossible question it's a tough hypothetical for you okay so the celtics just uh they they never win another playoff series that's a tough question that was a lot of dead air can a guy not think no i mean the answer i think the answer again this is whatever this is gotcha journalism i knew this was coming with this segment so i was a fair i would i would choose the celtics not to go to the shadow realm okay patriots will be back but yeah it's it's a tough question but i would i would i'd rather i mean celtics three-peating would be awesome and the patriots will be back during 23.
3:24:34Big Cat:good point this one's just mean i don't know why memes included this one is it just me or does everyone else hate Hank the 51 weeks of the year too that's mean that's mean memes for you including that 51 weeks besides Super Bowl week oh I love Hank I love Hank too I love Hank I love me as well okay you don't love us well that wasn't the question but we were saying we love you I love me too do you love any of us I don't hate me 51 weeks of the year it's probably like 10 Hank is a
3:25:03PFT Commenter:good guy lifelong what are your thoughts do you love hank he's okay sometimes okay that's actually as close to love yeah that was very nice you can't get you can't get closer to lifelong lifelong
3:25:16Big Cat:seahawks fan here i was wondering how much of the after super bowl party hank has already planned out like how many different plans he will cancel after drake may gets rocked for nine sacks and three turnovers go hawks i haven't really made any plans for for after super bowl i've just thought about mentally though yeah mentally only plans i made is is getting to a hotel room to record the podcast that's a company man right there yep fuck yes and then this last one is more of a visual question yeah we saw that yeah yeah yeah yeah good job memes that was it that wasn't that
3:25:49PFT Commenter:bad it was easy that was it that was good that wasn't that bad no a lot of them were named the four aces and we already did that i already forgot what was that guy's name

3:27:13PFT Commenter:before I go to bed, but we should do a challenge where it's like three of the greatest slices of tiramisu and one of them has an onion in it. I mean,
3:27:24Big Cat:I mean, yeah. Okay, all right, great. You're in. You're in for the challenge. Shane wants to do a tiramisu crawl where he has five tiramisu's back to back to back. That rocks. That's a lot of tiramisu, though. That's a lot of tiramisu. Have you guys ever had orange tiramisu? No. It's pretty good. Hey, that was orange tiramisu. Shane freaked out when I brought up orange tiramisu to him the other day. Did you freak out? A little bit. Well, I'm just...
3:27:51PFT Commenter:What's the word? I'm just like an originalist. Yeah, you're an originalist. That is the word.
3:27:56Big Cat:What did you think of the tiramisu last night, Shane? It was an okay tiramisu. They didn't use ladyfingers. They used like a sponge cake, and it soaked up too much coffee. It's too coffee-y.
3:28:07PFT Commenter:Okay.
