1:56Part of my take, yeah, part of my take, yeah, part of my take.
2:26break it all down we have not talked to max at all we made a rule he left last night he left the part of my take group chat he also left the group chat with myself big cat and jerry and uh he has been off so we're so we're we're just talking about what happens in part of my take group chats now we're just we're just we're just releasing screenshots now of you leaving that was funny i thought that was okay that you didn't think that was funny that's so that's the angle you're gonna to come with that's not it's not max left the group chat it didn't have any other words to it did you think we weren't going to bring that up on this show i i always thought screenshots of the of the group it wasn't it wasn't a screenshot of anything that was said it was just max has left the conversation this is a this is a wild this is a sad stretch max's listen matt this was that your big move was your big move i hadn't even thought about it until you brought it up again but I was mad about it last night.
3:22Well, let's talk about the game, Max. Let's talk about the game. He also, yeah. I don't think people don't want to listen to us bully you about the Eagles. They want to hear our analysis of the game. Yeah. So, Max, real quick question, because there was a moment when you left. So you left the Pardon My Take group text. Then Jerry O 'Connell left. PFT texted and said, did we win fantasy? And then you left that group text. I was thinking about starting to text every group text we were in together. Would you have left them all? Like if I had texted in the Stella Blue Blue text, you would have left it?
3:54Yes. You just would have left everything. There's a button on your phone you can press, and it is do not disturb. I turned that into because Jerry kept adding me back, so I did end up doing that to the Jerry O 'Connell one. Okay. You can do that for your whole phone, though. There's also a do not disturb option for life, which is just going to sleep. Yeah. That's impossible. Close your eyes. Go to sleep. Okay, so yeah, let's talk about the game because it was the Chargers. It's a crazy game. A ton of credit. Justin Herbert, he just gets his ass kicked every time he plays. He was sacked seven times.
4:28The Chargers defense played phenomenal. And the Chargers winning was enormous because I was looking at it this morning. This is all under the presumption that the Colts nosedive, which we'll talk about Phil Rivers in a second. But the Colts are in some tough, deep waters because they have a really tough schedule. and Daniel Jones has officially a torn Achilles. So the Chargers winning means that if they just win one single game, which would be week 18 against the Broncos, where the Broncos might be sitting everyone, they would get in over the Chiefs. So the Chiefs have a path now that is very, very precarious, and the Chargers feel like they have a stranglehold on getting into the playoffs.
5:10And Justin Herbert, just an absolute gamer. Cameron Dicker who I didn't realize was the most accurate kicker of all time. Well that's changed like four times in the last five years. Yeah. Because it was Justin Tucker for a while. I think then Young Way Koo took it. Yep. It might have gone back to Justin Tucker and then now Dicker's got it. It's just whoever the most recent good kicker is has that record. And then we had Jim Harbaugh with a great quote after he said, this just tells you how big this game was. he said he'd put uh it in the discussion of the birth of my seven children my marriage you know in the conversation just joyful joyous and the biblical definition of that is just overflowing with joy that's agape that that was what he that's that's that's how he felt after this game that's how much it meant for the chargers have a tough schedule coming up and winning this game was crucial for them to secure a playoff berth he was a gape agape as fuck after the game when he saw justin herbert on the field after he looked at him and i think in harbaugh's brain justin herbert is no different from his sons the look that he gave him after the game was like a proud father you did it son i'm so happy for you and justin herbert is tough as fuck playing with a broken hand he did i i think everybody that watched him that first quarter could identify with him he had he had like a cast on his hand and if you ever have an injury you just can't like stop touching it yeah and just like noticing it with your other hand and he was just doing that to his own hand obviously in pain when he fell on it but then in the fourth quarter he was like you know what fuck it i'm just gonna run with the football because he was having problems throwing it downfield with his accuracy uh underneath he was great i think he had like a perfect passer rating on throws that went under 10 yards yep couldn't throw it downfield but then at the end he was like i'm gonna run with the football and i'm gonna land on my healthy hand and we'll see if they can stop me and they weren't able to do it now the chargers have a long history of chartering it's kind of adjacent to falconing and and clemsoning and clemsoning but now they've kind of twisted the narrative around because the chargers have now won six straight games in prime time yeah which is the longest streak in the nfl by far the longest streak in franchise history The Chargers are just like a solid football team.
7:27They're a tough football team. I don't think they were spectacular last night. No, they actually. But their defense was. They actually weren't because Justin Herbert is the only NFL QB in the Super Bowl era to complete under 50 % of his passes, throw for under 150 yards, get sacked seven-plus times, have multiple turnovers, and still win the game. Yeah, and we'll talk to Dan Orlovsky about this at some point, but he had a great take after the game. he said the Eagles are in the shotgun way way way way way way way way way way way way way too much that's I think I said all the ways I'll do it again the Eagles are in the shotgun way way way way way way way way way way too much Herbert is an animal champion warrior legend animal champion warrior legend that's a I think that's the first time that honor has been bestowed on a quarterback but I don't disagree with Dan.
8:20I think he's right. Justin Herbert is tough as fuck. He also, we had a, I don't want to say controversy because I ultimately do not give a fuck, but he did shake off Laura Rutledge after on a hot mic being like, I'm trying to celebrate with my team. So there's obviously a lot of journalists, media members coming out of the woodworks being like, how could you do this? Laura's like doing her job. The media deals pay for this league. I thought it was just he did the interview right after and he was fine in the interview. I had no problem with it. He was he's he's probably he just got beat to hell on Monday Night Football.
8:57Won an improbable game where it looked like they were going to lose. And he had one comment where he's like, yeah, I'm just looking for my teammates. All right, fine. I'll do the interview. Yeah, he realized total nothing burger. That's right. I have a I have an obligation to do this interview. Like, I don't think 90 % of players, I think, would probably skip that interview if they had if it was their option. But it's mandated. So he was like, okay, yeah, I guess I'll do it. Thank you for reminding me. And then he did the interview, and she was like, how does it feel? And he was like, it feels great to win a football game.
9:25Yeah. So we got that information from him, which is very positive. I thought that the Chargers, they're going to be the definition of a tough out. Yeah. Is what they'll be. Because I think no matter what's going on with the injuries, if it's Herbert, if it's their offensive line or whatever, Harbaugh is just going to have them ready to play. And it is such a bummer. I mean, every team deals with injuries, but no Rashawn Slater, no Joe Alt. This does feel like a team that could be Super Bowl worthy if they had both of their tackles. Because it is such a glaring issue to get sacked that many times, to be under pressure that many times.
10:00They're just playing with one hand behind their back, and they're finding a way because Harbaugh is that kind of guy. And also the defense is really good. The defense is playing well. The defensive backs were awesome last night. They were all over the Eagles receivers. They got no separation. They were getting hands on the ball. Good job by the Chargers. So the Eagles, Max, talk us through this game. It was great. It felt like there was 25 fumbles. We had the incredible Jalen Hurts interception and fumble in the same play. First time that's happened. First time that's happened? Yeah, it's the first time since at least 1978 that any player had committed two turnovers on the same play, but the stats don't go back past 1978.
10:41So it could be the first time in NFL history that's happened. Because Lamar threw a pick and then recovered a fumble, I think, last year. But he didn't then fumble again, which is the crucial part of this. Yep. So, Max, how are you feeling? Bad. I mean, two of your top three players just had the worst game of their career in the same night. Which were? Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown both had the worst games of their career last night. Mm-hmm. and you still almost won the game because the defense was absolutely insane. And credit to Vic Fangio and that defense for somehow keeping the Eagles in that game, but just no one could make a play.
11:22No one could make a play. Saquon, I guess, who scored a 50-yard touchdown on a gimmicky play, and he had 122 yards. But if you take away his top three carries, I think it was another very pedestrian game for Saquon. But I think the point of running the ball with Saquon is you commit to running so that he does have those breakout carries. But he had two breakout carries in the first quarter, and then they were trying to get him the ball, and he was getting stuffed at the line of scrimmage every single time. I get that he had the long run, but that was essentially a trick play. You can't like, that wasn't just like a run up the middle that was like great blocking and it looked like the Eagles of old last year.
12:13It was a trick play. It was crazy watching Jalen Hurts because he threw that ball to A.J. Brown that A.J. Brown should have caught. If he catches that, none of this discussion is happening. Three of them. Yeah, he threw that one to Devontae Smith in overtime that was an absolute rocket, perfect throw in coverage. so he had moments where he looked good, but he had four interceptions and a fumble, and you did call Justin Herbert the big stupid pick guy. Jalen Hurts just threw four interceptions and has half as many picks as Justin Herbert on the year, so I don't want to, like, yes, Jalen Hurts threw a bunch of picks last night.
12:55He still has half as many as Justin Herbert on the year. In this game, who was the more big stupid pick guy? So I'm just asking What about in the playoffs last year Justin Herbert threw for four picks Yeah So like Yes he had a big stupid pick game Do you think it was a Passive of the torch Of the big stupid picks though Because you had a big stupid pick guy Justin Herbert Justin Herbert also threw a stupid pick I understand But was there a passing of the torch You said stupid picks He threw a stupid pick last night I said I never said stupid picks You said that Justin Herbert Was a big stupid picks guy You are misquoting me How am I misquoting?
13:33It was always big stupid pick guy It was never big stupid picks guy? But do you think How many times have you tweeted it? Who's right? Do you think though there was a passing of the torch on the big stupid pick guy? It was a bad game I mean See this is why you guys are pieces of shit Why? Because how many fucking times do you guys do this bit of Oh Jalen Hurts needs to throw more interceptions He needs to go out there and throw more interceptions It should actually be good for him. And then he goes and throws interceptions, and it's like, oh, no, maybe Jalen Hurts has got to stop throwing so many interceptions.
14:08Max, that's what you guys fucking do every fucking time. If you had waited for 15 minutes. Who is that? Is that just a combination? Yeah. If you had waited for five minutes, I was about to say that this was probably a great game for Jalen Hurts because he was throwing picks. Yeah. He was taking shots downfield. But you cut him off. I mean, Justin Herbert still has 11 picks on the year. Jalen Hurts has six after he just threw four in a game. But head-to-head. Head-to-head matters. I've been told that winning and losing does not matter for a quarterback. I've been told that for years. That doesn't – I've been told that for years that winning and losing is not a quarterback stat.
14:47Are you down on Jalen Hurts? Of course. You have to be down on Jalen Hurts. But I'm not – Jalen Hurts, it's insane that the way that people talk about Eagles fans, it's like spoiled Eagles fans, spoiled Eagles fans. Oh, you're going to boo your Super Bowl champion team? Oh, what a ridiculous fan base you are. And then as soon as your quarterback, your Super Bowl MVP has one bad game, it's like how can Eagles fans defend this guy? He's always fucking sucked. Well, are we the spoiled fans or are we the delusional fans? Because he can't have it both ways. Hold on. I've never said you're spoiled fans.
15:22No, but you know that's a narrative. Yes, but I always back Philly in the fact that I like that they boo and they're smart football fans, and they knew this offense was broken before it became a big storyline. Yeah. Yes. But you know that's a storyline. And the offense is broken. They have scored the only team that has scored less touchdowns than the Eagles over the past five weeks. I don't want to guess. The commies? Nope. Raiders. and they play on Sunday. Raiders. I have a stat here from last night. Oh, no. Yeah, Jalen Hurts' quarterback rating was 31.3 last night. Oh, what, that he could have spiked it every time and had a higher quarterback rating?
16:05That's not what I was going to say. Next. That's not what I was going to say. He nexted you. It's not what I was going to say. He nexted you. But he can't next me. All right, next. Want me to go? No, I have to finish my stat. Okay. Okay, so he had a 31.3 quarterback rating. against the Chargers, if they had snapped the ball to Jalen Hurts on every single play and he had puked all over himself and shit on the ball and ate the ball and then pooped the ball out onto the ground and then threw on the ball forward after he recovered his poop shit puke ball. So you're just saying what I'm saying. They would have had a 39.6.
16:41That's a different stat. So you're just saying the stat that I just said. No, my stat was completely different. His stat had puked and pooped. Nice. All right, Hank, go. Blind resume. Blind resume. QB1, 17 games, 2 ,700 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, 78.2 passer rating. Okay. QB2, 15 games, 2 ,200 yards, 17 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 85.2 passer rating. Oh, I think I'd take QB2. QB2 sounds – but he's only played 15 – how many games? 15. Two less games. 15 games, one more interception, two less interceptions. One more touchdown, two less interceptions. I think I take QB2. QB2.
17:23I wasn't listening. Continue. QB1 is Jalen Hurts without Lane Johnson. QB2 is Justin Fields in 2022. Oh. Whoa. That's crazy. That is crazy. That's a wild stat. Cool. You want to do the Super Bowl stats? You got some? Max, blind resume. Max, blind resume and back. I don't come to this fucking program with bullshit, biased stats. I was told that wins don't matter, Max. Now you want to talk about the Super Bowl. You're the one who brought up. If the resumes weren't blind. Those are just stats. We don't have to go in the wins. You want to just go into stats? Wait, Hank is right, though. Blind resumes is not biased by definition.
18:08You also picked specifically without his best offensive lineman. Right. System quarterback. He needs Elaine Johnson. He needs Elaine Johnson Merchant. He needs his Johnson Merchant.
18:22Max, I have a question for you. What are you looking up, Max? I'm not looking up anything. This is Zach. I have a question for you, Max. Did the Eagles play with joy last night? That was a bullshit quote. Nick Sirianni said needs to... Yeah, what do you mean by that? Nick Sirianni said that... I guess it was at halftime. Yeah. He said that he liked that the team was playing with confidence and joy in the first half and that they need to continue that in the second half. Do you think they continued playing with joy? What was bullshit about that quote? Yeah. They were not playing with joy. In the first half?
18:56No. No? What up, Max? Jake Elliott also fucking sucks. Every fucking week, he fucks us on some... You have eight wins. He was hitting bombs. It doesn't. This team is dead Nick Sirianni should shave his head Nothing will save this team The only good thing about this team is that Kevin Matula will get fired Will hire a new offensive coordinator and make the Super Bowl next year Because it's just It's just a cycle for the Eagles right now Are you worried about missing the playoffs? Yeah Why? Because you can't You gotta win football games to make the playoffs But you do play the Raiders the commanders twice and the Bills we played the two win cardinals in 2023 four wins I did see that and that's a fair point because that was a game that was shocking at the time and was like holy fuck nothing would shock so basically if the cowboys run the table go 4-0 and the eagles go 2-2 the cowboys will win the NFC East that's not that crazy it is a little because the eagles play the raiders they're 100 % splitting with the commanders no No.
20:09I'd be shocked if the Commanders won another football game. I think we're going to lose to the Giants this weekend. I think the Eagles are going to beat us twice. Max, you're going to beat the Raiders. You're going to win three games. You control your own destiny, Max. I don't care. What do you mean? They're not going to do it. Even if they make the playoffs, they're not. But what about the defense? This is not a good football. The defense is good. All right. All right. All right. All right. You're not going to. Hank is talking too much. Next. Next. I'm about to fucking help you. Next to Max. I'm about to try and give you a spin zone, Max.
20:38I'm trying to give you a fresh perspective. I just want the season to be over. I want it to be over. I was so happy just watching football on Sunday and not worrying about this garbage fucking offense. You were in a very good mood on Sunday. Yeah, life would be so much better if I just wasn't a fan of anything. Okay, all right, Max, shut the fuck up. It's true. No, no, shut up, Max. I've told you this. I'm going to do the thing that Big Cat said. The pain of losing is way worse than the joy of winning. You can't say that life would be so much better if you weren't. You fucking won a Super Bowl.
21:10I get it. I've said this before on this program. This calendar year, you won a Super Bowl. I understand what he's saying. If you just didn't have any rooting interest whatsoever, you just enjoyed sport. You won a fucking Super Bowl, Max. I get it. You were world champions in February. I get it. This year. You're allowed to be mad about your team. I understand. You cannot be this upset about sports in general. Yeah, you can. Because you played like five bad games. No, you can. Yeah, you can. Five bad games, Max. You're a world fucking champion. And Max did say it before the game. He said, this will decide my happiness for the rest of the year.
21:48Happiness gone. Whole year gone. Diet? Gone. I went to the gym yesterday. Had a really healthy day. And then I had like 16 drinks. Twisted teas during the Eagles. I was just anxious. It wasn't even drinking out of, like, it was just anxious. I needed something to do. We call that, that's putting out the fire. All right. I'll try and keep this short. I'll limit my word count here. But think about this, Max. Your season's over. You walk into the show. The two hosts just troll you. Oh, you're a co-host. And it's not fair, and it's mean. I don't think we've trolled them. And people in this office are mean and rude.
22:29Make the playoffs. Beat the Bears. Oh No because No It's just We're not going to beat the Bears This team cannot beat the Bears This team as it is right now Cannot beat the Bears Why do you say that Max? Because they suck We're all watching it This is a bad football team It's a bad football team You think your defense is bad? They were bad against the Bears You don't think you can beat the Bears No Actually that wasn't even trolling No No no You trolled Hank That was a troll I haven't trolled yet on this show. Do we have anyone who was at the game last night, though, that we could talk to? He's not here.
23:10Are you sure? I thought you were talking about Shane. No, we have... Oh, we're doing this... This guy doesn't even know what football is. We're talking about Shane, dude. Shane was at the game last night. He's on his way back. Is this Shane or is this Jerry? It's Shane. This is Jerry. It's Shane. Shane had been waiting to go to his first game. He went to his first Chargers game last night. Our guy Shane is ready to go. Zach doesn't know how to do this. I am putting together my own troll here, by the way. That's a hell of a producer right there. That's why we love you. You're doing a great job.
23:50Yeah, I do think the Eagles are going to make the playoffs, and I think that if they can figure out the offense in any form, Lane Johnson coming back obviously would be huge. I thought that I'll tell you Max when Saquon ran that touchdown I was like oh the Eagles might be back like this might be the Eagles being fully back but that was not like oh this running game looks good again that was a gimmicky play but he had a few good runs yeah in the first quarter he had like two good runs under center and then they stopped why don't they go under center? I don't know drastic change put them under center I don't know Yeah, you're going to make the playoffs.
24:30And honestly, you weren't that far away from winning the game last night. If A.J. Brown makes that catch in the end zone, ball game. Yeah. If A.J. Brown makes one of those three catches, you probably win the football. All of this doesn't matter. If A.J. Brown catches a ball that was a perfect pass. If Sully wasn't back there playing like prime Ronnie Lott, you win that football game. I was looking at someone on Twitter last night. It was like Jalen Hurts is basically like a home run hitter who just goes through stretches where he's unstoppable and then goes through stretches where he's like the worst player.
25:03He's Adam Dunn. Yeah, he's Adam Dunn. Yeah. By the way. Which is fair. Congratulations, Kyle Schwarber, back to the Phillies. Yeah, that actually was nice of him. Yeah, that was very nice of Kyle Schwarber. I appreciate him doing that. For$150 million. No, but the city needed that this morning, and he delivered. He could have waited a little bit more, and he was like, you know what? Philly needs this today. And he did it. And he did it. All-time guy. All-time guy. Max, did you watch any of the Monsters, Inc. clips of the football game last night? Did it make it worse seeing the animated graphics picking you off?
25:39Also. And then fumbling. That was bullshit. They got Sully. The fumble was bullshit. How the fuck is Mike Wazowski supposed to compete with Sully? He had a great run. Yeah. He's not Sully. He ran with joy. The thing about you look at two football players and you look between Sully and Mike Wazowski, who you taking. Yeah. You're taking Sully. You're taking Sully. I would like to see the Phillip Rivers game. He'd be the guy from Up. Talk about Phillip Rivers. Let's go on. We'll get to that later. We have Shane joining us. I'll do an ad, and then we'll have Shane joining us because he went to his first Chargers game.

I mean, there is so much green in that stadium. It was basically an Eagles home game. And I will say Eagles fans are so fun. The atmosphere is just electric. That said, Max, chin up. Come on, Max. Chin up. Max. Max. I'm listening. I am listening. Yeah, but why are you like all hunched over and like staring down and stuff? Okay, there we go. I muted my – There he is. There he is. There's my Maxi. Okay. That said, your team cannot run the ball at all.
28:57I watched with my eyes. Shout out GameTime app. Thank you for the tickets. 12 days of GameTime. Go to the Barstool Sports Store. You can get all the GameTime credits and stuff. great app the tickets are the cheapest on game time you can sell your tickets i love it that's how you do an ad hank you like that right that said um that's that said um saquon every time he runs into the interior he just crumples sort of like you are right now like there's like a crumpling of him he it's not even i don't know what's going on if it's with saquon if it's with your line when they bounce it outside he rips off a 50-yard touchdown he uh the early in the first quarter he ripped off three like 30 yards boom boom boom on the outside on the on the right side of uh of uh of the chargers but if you can't run the ball if you can't hand the ball off to Saquon and get three, I'm talking three yards.
29:59Max, you're done. Stop watching. Move on to. Yes, I agree. Oh, this is good. I agree with everything that you're saying. Do you have a question? Yeah. Yeah. You mentioned Saquon. Is Saquon on our fantasy team? Dude, Saquon is on our fantasy team. We needed just over 13 points from him last night. to get into the playoffs. And I got to tell you, I actually didn't bet on the game last night because I was like, I have too much at stake. What more do I need? Do I need more at stake here? Right. And when he ripped that run off, it was – honestly, I haven't felt like that since Hankey and I were watching game one uh celtics knicks yeah and uh did you assault anyone last night too um the guy i was with i was grabbing him and like whispering like uh oh fucking saquon yeah it was uh he really showed up for us right when he needed to um i i just gotta say like getting back to max and the eagles though yeah there's also So what was going on?
31:18Because I wasn't watching on TV, so I didn't get any commentary. Oh, by the way, met Joe Buck in the booth. Yeah, dude. It's so funny. I'm very respectful. He's doing live television. I'm sort of hanging off on the side. You know, he gets a break. He's there. Joe Buck makes a beeline for me and goes, hey, you do your interview for the part of my take book yet? And I was like, oh, my gosh, I can't believe it. We were laughing so hard. It's so funny. Like all roads lead to, to you guys. What a great guy. Holy mackerel. He is the best. What a, he didn't have to say anything. He's working live television.
31:57Also met Troy Aikman, not joking. I really believe just judging him physically tomorrow, he could play for the Colts. He is in such, he is in, I'm going to say it. He's in the best shape I've ever seen him in. Wow. That's high praise. It was your first time meeting him? Was this your first time meeting him? First time meeting him? I met him in a bar. So that checks out. But that checks out that's the best shape you've ever seen him in. I actually saw him, and I don't do this. You can ask Hank. I don't touch people inappropriately. That's my thing. I respect people's boundaries, their eardrums and stuff.
32:41when I saw him, I was like, I gotta see if this is real or if it's like implants. So I went, Mr. Aikman, it's such a pleasure to meet you. Shook his hand and then with my left hand touched his deltoid and stuff. He could play, honestly, Colts. Give Troy a call. Give him a workout. Yeah. Yeah. But, yeah, you have a problem. Those picks that Jalen threw. Oh, what happened in the end zone? Was that a pass to – who was that a pass to? A.J. Brown? Are you talking about the drop? I'm talking about the interception. Oh, Jahan Dotson. Jahan Dotson. Did it hit Dotson's hands? What are we doing here? He was at the game.
33:31We always do this. We recap guys from the game. Hey, dude, I just haven't seen it. I wasn't on TV. I was there live, so I couldn't see. And also, shout out to GameTime. GameTime app is awesome. But my seats were in one end zone, and they were in the other end zone. But I didn't want to spend all the money and get in the middle of the field. But they were still great seats. GameTime is incredible. That's how you do an ad, Hank. Cheapest prices, easiest resale. Any notes for me on that ad, on that read, Hank? No, you crushed it. It was fun. Yeah. Yeah, you were prepared. That's the big thing. Jerry, do you have any last words of encouragement for Max?
34:09No, Max. Honestly, Max, let it go. Start thinking about Phillies in spring training. It's over. Chin up, though. Come on, Max. Don't hunch over. Yeah, there we go. There's that beautiful face. I love seeing you. Jerry, did you get a chance to see Big Dom on the sideline interacting with the guys? It's so funny. I was looking for him, and I was trying to get a photo of him. I gotta say a lot of the coaching staff on the Eagles look like Big Dom I mean a lot of people and I didn't want to like I know Hank almost got cancelled on Monday's show for you know what I didn't want to film one person and then have the Italian American community be like that's not Big Dom, we don't all look alike how dare you you're dead to us yeah yeah that's better safe than sorry yeah all right well jerry you're the best thank you we were i mean we always do this recap from a game live um you're the best thank you for being our eyes and ears jerry yeah otherwise we wouldn't have known shout out game time map 12 days of game time go to the uh barstool sports store they have just incredible uh deals right now what an app i love it just seeing that green wait barstool sports yeah he's been just let him go Oh, he's been doing the...
35:30The Barstool Sports Store is part of the 12 days of game time. Yeah. Yeah, Hank doesn't know that. Yeah, because he doesn't read the ad copy. All right. Thank you, Jerry. You're the best. Hank, you blew it. You blew it. You blew the game time read. You blew it. Thank you, Jerry. All right. See you, Jerry. Bye-bye, Jerry. That was the best, Jerry. Thank you, Jerry. Max, you're obviously ready to move on. We have one last thing we have to ask because this is obviously the big elephant in the room. The bunny? I mean, we all knew. We tried to convince ourselves about that. Oh, my God. We got you something, Max, to help cheer you up.
36:16Max, look at that. It's a positivity rabbit. A positivity rabbit. It's actually the donkey from Shrek, but we drew a bunny nose and whiskers on it to make it feel better. Isn't that awesome? Do you want it or no? Do you feel better? No. No positivity? Nope. So what are we going to do with the bunny? We're going to rip it up? I guess I have to destroy the rabbit. Yeah. Yes. What are we going to do with the bunny in the Eagles locker room? What's Hank doing over there? I also got you. I think you should get another bunny. I got you a positivity bear. A bear. A positivity bear. Do you want this one?
36:55Let's get positive. Max, I got We have another positivity reindeer Max, look at this The positivity bear right here What do you have, Hank? I have a dog What do you have? You have a dog? That's a bear This is a bear as well Max, look at all this positivity we got for you Do you not like it?
37:19I feel better I feel way better Max, can you at least talk to us Because there's people listening to the show right now destroying my bunny. Don't destroy the bunny. Max. Max, don't destroy the bunny, Max. Put the bunny down. Oh, no. There's a positive. There's a snowman in front of the door. He just walked into another positivity thing. Max. Max, we're getting positive. What's wrong? That was fucked up. You had Pug out there doing that. Pug's an Eagles fan. Yeah. Max, I feel so much better. What's this? Oh, look at this, Max. A positivity dog. Look at... Oh, my bear's dying. Oh, no. Max, do you want any of these or no?
38:06Can you put your headphones back on? We got to talk. He's hiding underneath his sweatshirt. He's disappearing himself. Max, this is... Look at... Zach, tell us... You feel positive, right? I know what's going on. He's pretty positive in this room We got bunnies everywhere We got quite a few different animals Pretty positive You guys feel positive? I feel great I really do I think that this is the best thing for Max right now Just put a smile Turn that frown upside down Maxie Max look at all this positivity Come on man We're as positive as possible What are you going to do with the bunny though?
38:48They gotta get rid of it right? What are your thoughts on the bunny? Max. They got to get rid of it? Max, talk. Please talk for the people. Max is saying the bunny is gone. The bunny, has it officially been gone? Is it officially gone? Can we at least agree? Yeah, the bunny is... We all knew what was going to happen with the bunny. But you got mad at me for mentioning, oh shit, you just spilled water all over your computer. That's okay. Good. Because I got a positivity bunny. That's the best news I've heard in a long time. I can't be mad about anything with this positivity bunny. I hope that thing was fucking fried.
39:24It's so much water. It's so much water. I've got like three more. Oh, my God. Yeah, we'll be okay over here. Yeah, I think, Max, looking back at it, because you did get mad at me on Sunday night when I pointed out having to say, we're not sad. Make sure that everyone knows we're not sad. This bunny is not about being sad was probably not a great sign. I knew it wasn't a good sign. But you fought me about it. Yeah. Okay. But now we have a good sign here. We have so much positivity in this room.
40:02Can we just get a smile, Max? You're so much prettier with your smile. Just look up. Just look at the positivity, and then we'll be in. We'll unplug them all. All right. Look at it. You see it? Yep. Done. No, do a full scan. I just fucking looked. You said look up. Full scan. Yes, I see it. Give them names. Give them names. Give them names. You said to look, and we would be done. You said look up and we'll be done Give him a couple names real quick Rapid fire names and we're done Give him some names I can't trust you You're right That was fucked up But now I want some names for these guys Please We're not doing this Let's talk about Phillip Rivers Let's just do one 90 yard touchdown Max what is this guy's name See this guy right here Just name one of them Hey, Max.
40:48One of them. Hope you're doing okay, buddy. I'm just here to help. Five names or we're moving on. We will wait here all day. I'm giving zero names. One name. We're not doing it. We're not doing this. Why not? I swear to fucking God, I will wait here all day. We got a showdown, boys. We got a showdown. I got nothing to do. What about Big Domkey? Oh, that's good. I like that. Hello, Domkey. we got a bear AJ Brown bear Max I think we just have to we have to wait each other out here Jahan Doxon oh that's good I like that alright let's do a hot seat cool troll we'll talk about Philip Rivers and a hot seat cool troll is this bad audio Max can you put on your headphones and let us know if this is bad audio all this stuff oh this is look hey Max it's Nick DiRiani I'll wait here all day.
41:46BFT almost filled his water again, but I put a cap back on. We played with tremendous joy last night. It's me, Nick DiRiani. I'm so filled with joy. I'm happy as the dickens. Okay. All right. I'm unplugging mine. Vax, look. All right. Stand down. We're standing down. We're going to do Hot Sea, Cool Throne. Look at it. See? Oh, I've got to say, this is kind of sad now. Oh, no. Look at all them deflating. This is really, really big time bummer. Damn. I think we can keep the donkey on. I agree. I agree. Yeah, you keep donkey. Let's do Hot Seat Cool Throne. Hot Seat Cool Throne is brought to you. And we will talk Phillip Rivers and Hot Seat Cool Throne.
42:34Hot Seat Cool Throne is brought to you by our friends at Body Armor. This segment is brought to you by Body Armor Flash IV. Do we have a Flash IV? be careful the snowman out there zach body armor flash iv flash iv delivers faster longer lasting hydration with over 2 000 milligrams electrolytes and no artificial dyes flavors or sweeteners like those other drinks so whether you're training traveling or just feeling the heat work hard hydrate hard with body armor flash iv and grab yours today at your local 7 11 convenience store body armor flash iv if you take it a bad loss oh wait did max leave again yeah he walked out if you're taking a bad loss body armor flash iv will help you out uh body armor flash iv zach is going to bring it to me he's he's navigating all the stuff there okay body armor flash iv love it i'm gonna take a sip right now the tropical punch and then we're gonna do hot seat cool throne where's max uh max to quote himself he uh he hit the mute button on himself where did he go he just left He's got to come back.
43:36You assume bathroom. Why would you assume that? He walked towards bathroom. He walked towards the bathroom. The bathroom. Okay. Okay, let's do hot seat, cool thrones. We'll fill in Max when he gets back. Hot seat, cool thrones. All right, well, I'll start with my cool throne then. Okay, yeah, that's a good idea. My hot seat was Max related. My cool thrones, Mike Tyson. Ah, yeah. I'm assuming, I think he fought one of the Paul brothers already. I'm assuming he's probably going to fight the other one at some point. That's fair. But he got tips from Conor McGregor on how to box. I saw that. My cool throne is Mike Tyson in his next fight, next inevitable fight versus Paul Brothers.
44:17It was also great camera work when that was being done because it was Conor McGregor showing off the striking and then the camera pans over to who he's teaching and it's Mike Tyson sitting there like, yeah, okay, I got you. I got you. Legally, I would not like to accuse anyone of doing anything illegal, right? So we're not going to accuse anyone. All I'll say is I have seen people high on Josh Allen before, myself included. Every time I see a clip of Conor McGregor, he looks like he's just put another bet on Josh Allen to win MVP. Yeah. When was the last time there was a positive headline about Conor McGregor?
44:53I don't know. It's been a long time. I feel like it's been a decade. Yeah. Okay. Your hot seat? My hot seat, National Sports Podcast, moving on from football. It's the Philadelphia 76ers. Oh, what's up? Ten games ago, they were top of the division. But in the past ten games. Max, put your headphones back on. Celtics have gone 8-2. They beat the Pistons. They beat the Lakers. They beat the Raptors last night. They beat the Wizards. They beat the Cavs. 8-2, no Jason Tatum. They're now second in division behind the Knicks, and the Sixers are in third place. Wow. They've gone 5-5 in their last ten.
45:32spiraling. And LeBron had, I think, 10 straight in the fourth quarter against him. Oh, wow. New streak? New streak. Max, can I say one thing to you that you're going to like? Well, maybe you won't like, but can I just say it to you? Can you listen to me? Sure. I guess this is just the entire fucking show. No, it's not. All I'm going to say is about the positivity. National Sports Podcast. Okay. Can I just say that we love you so much and we think about you so much that PFT and I independently of each other plan to get these blow ups and then text us. It was the most obvious thing ever. Obviously.
46:06You didn't expect the snowman in the hallway. Admit that. Admit when you open the door and you ran into the snowman you did not see that coming. I just took a knife to that snowman.
46:18We love you Max. We do. Okay. Also hot seat me kind of because of the tan Coach Missoula reached out and just said tough fucking look. Oh. Oh, yeah. Oh, hot cheat me. The coach of the stuff. Good point, Max. And then I had to explain Mount Rushmore to him, which I felt like the most loser text of all time. Yeah. Well, we do this Mount Rushmore competition in the summer where we rank things and the loser has to do a punishment. I think a lot of his interactions with you come on the heels of losing some contest where you have to do a punishment. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. PFT, you're hot. We can't see PFT in the fucking camera.
46:58All right, I'll move it back. It was good to do so. Every time I talked, it was just Nick DiRiani. No, no, no. That's Big Domkey. Big Domkey. Here, put him up here. That's the funniest Big Domkey's ever been. There he is. My hot seat is the NFL because Philip Rivers is back. Oh, yeah. He's so back. He's 44 years old. I thought it was a joke. It sounded like something that we would have thrown out there on Sunday as part of my take. Like, just in terms of, like, wishing something that would never happen is going to happen. He worked out on Monday night for the Colts. Apparently that arm still works.
47:36He's a grandfather. And the Colts have signed him. Tough scene. Tough scene for the Ben DiNucci's of the world. For anyone that did not make a roster this year, maybe a young quarterback, they're just kicking the tires on Phillip Rivers, and he's coming back, and he is now officially signed to the Indianapolis Colts. Yeah, it's crazy. I'm so excited. I had the same exact feeling as you. I looked at it. I quote tweeted it. I saw the check mark, but after I tweeted, I was like, there's no way it actually was true, right? Yeah. No way. But he's going to try to do this, and it's exactly what we want.
48:17Instead of seeing no offense to Riley Leonard or whoever they could pick up off the street, give us Phil Rivers now he does have to if he got signed to the practice squad he is now if he plays on Sunday against the Seahawks who have quite a good defense I thought that he would I'm actually already so excited because when we were texting about it my initial reaction was this is mean because I thought the Colts would sign him or the Colts would bring him in for a workout they would see him be like alright you're 44 years old dude thanks for coming in but no thanks, and I would have got my hopes up for nothing.
48:53Now it feels like we're in. It feels like it might happen. No, they signed him. It reminds me a lot of the Jeff Saturday head coach thing. Yeah. This is kind of what they're doing just at the quarterback position. I hope he'll be okay. I am a little bit concerned about his safety because Phillip Rivers is a grandfather, and he's playing against that Seahawks defensive line. That doesn't seem like it's a good combination. This doesn't seem like a fix that is necessarily set up to last for the rest of the season. Yes. They might just be going on a week-to-week basis. Yes. I honestly think they should sign Taylor Haneke.
49:27He's a free agent right now. That's a pretty good one. And he would be fun. He would be a fun quarterback. He's good. He takes some chances. Like Jalen Hurts, it's not always a bad thing when you throw in receptions. But this doesn't... I'm not optimistic, but I am hopeful. I want Philip Rivers to play for the rest of the season I want him out there making his Philip Rivers faces I want him out there Pretending to cuss while not actually cussing The only downside to this really Is that his Hall of Fame clock Has now been set back Which I was like maybe he did this on purpose Because he was going to be in a class with Drew Brees And Eli Manning So maybe he's just going to keep doing this Until he finds a class that doesn't have a lot of Hall of Fame quarterbacks Why not call up Eli Manning See if he'll do it Has Florio said that Kaepernick is working out yet?
50:16No, I don't think that we've reached that stage. Because it is a slap in Kaepernick's face that he's not getting a tryout. I would say, yeah. If we're doing the Philip Rivers thing, there's a lot of guys. Why not Brett Favre? I love it so, so much. Bring all these guys back. What's Tebow up to? My guy, Cuddy. Johnny Manziel. There's a lot of guys that can do this. Johnny Manziel, he threw for 300 yards in the game. People act like he doesn't have an arm. He can play football. That's a good point, PFT. Yeah, thank you. Okay, your cool throne? Yeah, Hank, do you have anything about that? About Phillip Rivers?
50:51You were itching to talk about him. Mm-hmm. Was I? Yeah. My cool throne is winning the breakups. Okay. Because Notre Dame is now going scorched earth on the college football playoff, and more specifically, the ACC. So the athletic director, Pavakwa? Is that how you say his name? Pavakwa? I just think of Matthew Bevilacqua. Me too. The guy from Sopranos. Bevilacqua. Bevilacqua has been doing a bunch of interviews. He's been talking about the ACC and saying that the ACC absolutely fucked them over, that they did, I think this is a direct quote, irreparable harm to the relationship with Notre Dame.
51:30Now, Notre Dame is not in the ACC for football. Right. But they have, in Bevilacqua's terms, a business relationship together. that business relationship might be done because the acc seemed to have been advocating for miami to get in yeah over notre dame so this is like more notre dame a lot of sour grapes coming out of south bend right now and i i get it like they're a good football team and are they one of the best 12 teams in the country yes without a doubt they are one of the best will you apologize i'm not going to apologize for getting in never you will never hear me say i'm sorry that jmu is in the college football playoff.
52:05And guess what? We probably broke it. They should be thanking us. Notre Dame should be kissing my ass because JMU getting into this playoff, they will rewrite the rules for the playoff so this never happens again. Yeah. And you'll be fine. You've got your little memorandum of understanding. You'll be okay in the long run. But they're very upset that the ACC did not advocate strongly for Notre Dame despite the fact that they're not in the ACC for football. Got it. Yeah. I mean, it's the super conferences. Super conferences have screwed. This is how we've led all the way down here. And ESPN having a big hand in this and having a super conference where you have two teams that didn't play each other.
52:46They didn't play more than they played two common opponents. Yeah. The dumbest tiebreakers. And they also set this up because they never thought that an ACC, a Power Four conference champion would be ranked lower than a group of five team. Yeah. I mean, they set this up when the Big 12 and the ACC, that was what everybody was looking at. Yeah. It's so stupid. But, yeah, you shouldn't apologize. Yeah. Like, I would, as a neutral observer, I would rather see Notre Dame and Texas or Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt, by the way, like, they just got forgotten in all of this. Yeah. But Notre Dame, Texas, Vanderbilt.
53:24Yeah, I would rather see those games. Respect to Vandy, though, for trying to schedule another game. Yes. but at the end of the day i i won because i i'm happy for you and two it's like a reap what you so situation i'm like all right yeah you guys fuck this up deal with it now yeah listen there's a very good chance that i have a very bad time watching the jamie oregon game and it becomes see i told you this is why we don't let jamie into the playoffs yeah there's a very distinct possibility that happens um so i'm just on a mission to cover that's all i'm looking at let's cover the spread just cover the spread physically oregon is a much bigger team i i'm not confident at all i'm not saying jamie's one of the best 12 teams in the country i think that that would be an insane take to have i'm just pumped that we're in it and i'm glad that the cfp uh was so short sighted with everything that it put the entire sport in this situation but football is going to be fine college football will be fine they're going to change the rules notre dame you're going to get in next time this happens to you we'll all forget this ever happened and just but what if jamie won though which is what if we want i'm eating duck every day that'd be sick for the next 12 days yeah we're doing it uh is that your cool throne no your cool throne yeah i was winning winning the breakups yes yeah you should eat duck every single day i did i had duck i duck last night i'm gonna have duck gumbo for lunch today uh we're gonna do duck every day it's healthy right Yeah.
54:49Duck is very healthy. I'm Carson Wentz. I'm out here just fucking assassinating ducks. Duck has to be healthy. My hot seat is... So the one thing we didn't talk about with the Philip Rivers thing, and obviously it's the Colts. I want Philip Rivers to play. My hot seat is Chris Ballard. I'm going to put him back on the hot seat. The GM for the Colts, I have to remind everyone, has been the GM for the Colts since 2017, nine years. He has never won the AFC South. Yeah. He's never won the AFC South. they looked like they were in a good spot when Daniel Jones was healthy. But were they? Yeah. Yes, they were.
55:24But they also were also, like, Daniel Jones getting hurt gives you a nice excuse. I don't know if they were going to, they were already falling down a little bit before that. Well, he had a broken leg. But when did he break his leg? It was like three weeks before, two weeks before he reported it. Okay, so it was, but what game was it? Do we know what game it was? I don't know. Daniel Jones. Three weeks ago, I called them frauds, and it was before all the fibula stuff. Yeah. When did he bring them? And I was ridiculed. Yeah, I'm wrong. I apologize. In terms of being frauds, I wasn't saying, like, Super Bowl, I don't think.
55:59But they were a good team. They were by far the favorite to win that division at the time. But they also had a really, really hard schedule coming up. Yeah. What week? Do we know when he actually broke his or first hurt his leg? Was it the Chiefs game? I think it might have been the Chiefs game. Four weeks ago and it came out three. I think it might have been the Chiefs game. Three weeks ago, it came out two weeks ago. Either way, Chris Ballard hot seat because not winning the AFC South nine straight times is pretty crazy. I also feel like if you're Chris Ballard, you have to call some other quarterback too, right?
56:34Yeah. You can't pin the rest of your season on Phillip Rivers. Yeah. Zach, are you looking it up for me? No. You are. You're trying to find it. When did he first get hurt? I would like to find out when he I think it was the Chiefs game I believe because if it was maybe the Steelers game I don't know they had lost to the Steelers that was obviously when he went when Seth went savage either way their schedule has been very is very difficult going down the stretch it was always going to be very difficult going down the stretch not to say they weren't a good team before that but they also were beating some bad teams So this is a nice excuse that they were right there, but I don't know if you want to fool yourself and say you were right there.
57:17They were, but they were in good position to win that division. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Like the roster as it was, and also Anthony Richardson breaking his eye in a pregame warmup with the band. Not saying that Anthony Richardson is necessarily like the future of that team, but it would be nice to put him out there. It would be nice to not have to pick up the phone and call Phillip Rivers. It would be. Hank, I apologize to you. You were right. I'm so glad that they did call Phillip Rivers. Don't get me wrong. I'm so excited to see Phillip Rivers play football. I guess I should reverse it and put Chris Ballard on our cool throne because he's doing something we really are in favor of and calling Phillip Rivers.
57:52Yeah, the first thing that I thought of, though, was how mad I got at Kyle Shanahan for telling us that if the 49ers had beaten the Eagles to make that Super Bowl when they had Brock Purdy go out with the elbow thing, that he was going to call Phillip Rivers to be their quarterback on one-week practice for the Super Bowl. Yeah. How incredible would that have been? It would have been insane. all right my cool throne is uh Penn State and Max we didn't talk about this on Monday Max Matt Campbell's a good coach that was a good for a coaching search that couldn't have gone worse it ended up in a decent place Yeah, he had a good press conference too.
58:29So are you... That's good. Whatever. Okay. We've lost them. Yeah. What do you think about his hat game, Max? Where's hats? Big bend in the bill? Big curve? Couldn't tell you that I've thought too much about it. Max, are you least excited that big game Max takes a week off because you're playing the Raiders this week? We're going to lose to the Raiders. No, no. He's got a big game. What? College basketball. Big game Max? 17 and a half point dogs. No, the big game Max is when Wisconsin plays Villanova next Friday. Yeah, I'm going to that game too. Yeah. Big game. Big game Max. Little game Max this weekend.
59:08Zach, your hot seat, cool throne. Do we ever get an answer for when he – we can't find it. It's in – everything you look up just talks about the Achilles. When did he first fracture his fibula? I don't know. I can't remember what week we talked about it. I think it was after the Chiefs game. You know what it was? the news came out the week of Thanksgiving. So that was we recorded earlier in the week, but the news was also that he had been dealing with it for the last several weeks. Got it. So I'd say two weeks before the Chiefs game sounds like it would be the right track for it, which would be that be the Steelers game.
59:42Yeah. I mean, they probably would have made the playoffs if he stayed healthy. I just didn't know this. It coincides with the stretch of their schedule. I would have liked to see a healthy Daniel Jones play this stretch and see how good they could have been. Okay. Before this past Last week. It was two weeks? It was two weeks that he was playing through it. Yeah, so it was the Chiefs game. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, Zach, your hot seat, Coltrane. My hot seat this week is going to be oversharing on Twitter. Okay. Did any of you guys see former NFL quarterback Quinn Jammer on Twitter last night? Yes. I did, yeah.
1:00:15I mean, all the time, just true story. In 2011, I played completely shit-faced drunk at least eight games. Did you guys see the replies? Yeah. I did, yeah. He's ripping in the replies. Yeah. He is. Open book. It's crazy. The video clips are so funny. I haven't seen the video. I saw somebody pulled up his stats, and they were like, yeah, you were like the fifth worst cornerback in the NFL that year. There's a couple videos of him just running without a care in the world, just kind of taking long, no angles, and just looping around. Almost looks like he's trying to run and do a plane run. Is he sober now, I would assume?
1:00:52I feel like that's something you don't say unless you're sober now or it could also be something that you say if you're definitely not sober yeah I hope he's sober because yeah that was a quite quite something to say just outright admit yeah he was replying to people being like yeah I just have a couple tequila bottles yeah tequila bottles on the sidelines yeah he said he's ripping drinks through the game and the way home yeah just never stop drinking yeah I I mean, who was the coach of the Chargers at that point? Would that be – is that Norv, Marty? It might have been, yeah. How do you not notice that your starting cornerback is hammered during games?
1:01:31Yeah, I don't know. I mean, he played a long time in the league. Yeah, he's a good player. Yeah, so maybe they're just like, hey, he's a vet. He handles shit differently. We're not going to get involved here. It was Marty and Norv. Marty and Norv. Wait, what year did he say? 2011? 2011 was Norv Alright your cool throw My cool throw this week is Dodgers because MLB might just be over Oh yes Edward Diaz to the Dodgers Three years 69 million dollars Memes what do you think It's over Dodgers won the World Series Again Don't even do the season Start the lockout now It was their one weakness and they just got the best closer in baseball.
1:02:21But even last year when it was their weakness, they were like, we just have a bunch of starters. We'll just make relievers. It's bullshit. But now they got the guy. I went to two Mets games at Wrigley last year and he was just the best player. Is he going to bring the trumpets with him? Yeah. It would be nice if... I actually think I'm secretly hoping the Dodgers doing this type of stuff will just lead us to a salary cap and then it's all solved. So the Dodgers could save baseball while breaking baseball. Well, the thing is, if they had won the World Series more decisively, we'd be having that conversation right now.
1:02:55But salary cap means strike. Yeah, salary cap means strike, which means no baseball. Salary cap slash floor? High floor? Same thing. Very high floor? Same thing. What if it's just like a very short building? So you've got like a six-foot ceiling. The floor is so high that the ceiling doesn't really feel like it's... You know what I'm saying? That would just make a... A small room. A small ceiling, which players wouldn't like. Unless the floor is also... It's like a skyscraper, and the only floor that is lived in on the building is at the very, very top. Would it go to a really wide salary cap, to kind of spread the money around, and come to a compromise?
1:03:39Go super wide with the floor? Mm-hmm. Whatever. Max, I'm watching you stab this snowman. That was sad. Why did you stab him? That's holiday cheer. You guys wanted. That's what you guys wanted. No, I did not. I wanted to cheer up. That's why we got it. Yeah. Okay, let's get to our interview. We have D 'Amico Ryan from the Houston Texans. And now here's Houston Texans head coach, D 'Amico Ryans. Okay, we now welcome on a recurring guest. Very, very, very, very special guest. It is Houston Texans head coach, D 'Amico Ryans. The hottest team in football right now. I'm going to say that. Does that make you uncomfortable though? Just let's start there.
1:06:22Giving you guys the hottest team in football moniker. Because I truly believe it the way you guys are playing ball right now. It doesn't make me uncomfortable. I think the guys deserve they're doing a really good job. But understanding that it may be the hottest team, but it doesn't matter. You just got to keep going out, executing, doing what we have to do to continue to win games. Are you a believer in rat poison, though? Would you like us to say some mean things about the Houston Texans so these guys don't get a fat head walking around? Please give it to me. What you got? Oh, let's see. What can we say?
1:06:51Your offense still hasn't been very good. There we go. Yeah. Are we recording this? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Okay, yeah, I got to use. Congratulations on figuring out how to run an offense inside the five-yard line. Yeah. We could be mean. Yeah. Now, you guys are great. Like, we want – we've actually been saying very nice things about you guys, but if it helps, we're happy to give you guys all the bulletin board material that you need. Yeah, no, all the stuff you guys say is for me, man, as I watch film and as I go through it, always keep our guys – you know, I keep them even-keeled. I understand there's still a lot of things we have to clean up.
1:07:27even though guys are doing a great job of doing the most important thing, and that's winning. But there's still a lot of lessons to be learned, even in the wins that we have. And I'm always seeking that improvement. So I appreciate that. You guys are spot on. We're working on getting better. Yeah. So this last game against the Chiefs, it was a great game, playoff atmosphere. You know, the defense was incredible, what you guys did to the Chiefs in terms of Patrick Holmes throwing three picks. The game, though, felt like it turned on that fourth and one call, by the Chiefs. Now, you used to play for Andy Reid.
1:07:59Were you shocked on the sideline that they went for it on their own 30-yard line in that, like, with 10 minutes left? Or were you prepared for it and, like, hey, they're going to do this all the time? Yeah, going into the game, I was prepared for just seeing the comments and things that they said throughout the week of how this was a huge game for them, knowing, like, their season, everything was on the line. So, any time it was fourth down, I was just throwing my hands up, making sure the defense stayed out there, stayed alert, making sure we were prepared we had a call ready for the moment so it didn't surprise me because a lot of times you know Patrick Mahomes has done a ton of his career of making guys pay in those moments so I see why you know Andy would go for it just he's trusting his players believing in his quarterback to make a play how much fun are you having right now watching your defense play because I there is something about defensive football where it's you guys are so violent you're so aggressive that it's like it it's you know everyone wants points in this league but there's something about playing defense at the level you guys are playing at that is like it brings me joy to watch because it's just what you guys are doing in attacking do you feel that when you're watching your defense out on the field and i definitely feel the joy i feel the excitement i wish i can get out there and play with these guys because they make it looks like so much fun out there playing but they're playing together man that's what i truly believe in like Like, it's about stopping people.
1:09:22Like, everybody gets caught up in the offenses and scoring points, and everybody wants to see more points scored. I get it from a fan perspective. But for me, how do you win games? You win it by getting critical stops. And that's what's fun about watching our defense on third down, the way they go out, they perform, get off the field. It's exciting to see. And it's exciting for me just to see it all come together, right, and see guys truly play for each other. Yeah. What are those battles like in practice when you've got the ones on the ones and your defense going up against your offense? And I have to imagine that, you know, your defense can stop anybody.
1:10:00So what's that dynamic like between the two parts of your team? Yeah, we do a competitive period where we do a third down compete period every week, and it's been pretty lopsided for most of the year. Our defense has been winning a lot of those. But when CJ came back for the past couple weeks, he's he's gutted us on a lot a lot of plays so it's balancing itself out now so it's very competitive when we do those periods and i love it when you go just good on good in season to make sure the competitive fire the competitive spirits are still up with our team always enjoy watching that uh i got a dumb question for you and i hope you uh take this the right way but i well it's a compliment but i would assume that most of your beat reporters in houston are not doing the same thing asking these questions we have you ranked top three most attractive head coaches in the nfl are you cool with that do you think that's a fair ranking oh man hey i'm in the top five i'll take you let's go you're top three you might be one you honestly might be one and like i don't know if it's like listen guys should be able to compliment guys like you're an attractive guy Good looking dude.
1:11:08Yeah, it's Matt LaFleur, Andy Reid, D 'Amico Ryan. Yeah. Let's go. Let's go. Andy, Miko, let's go, baby. Top three. I love it. Do you prep your look when you're going out for a game, or you're not even thinking about that because you're just so good looking it doesn't matter? You know I have to do a really nice job of cutting all this hair off my head and making sure I'm looking really nice and clean out there. So it takes a lot to keep up this look. Okay. I told Zach before we did this interview, I actually did want to ask you about the hair. How often do you pick it? Oh, man, it's probably a couple times a week, probably two, three times a week.
1:11:43Okay, because I've never seen you once with any sort of growth. I didn't know if it was an everyday thing, if you had done it twice in a day before. There's never been a 5 o 'clock shadow there. I try to eliminate the 5 o 'clock shadow. I tell my kids I'm going to grow it out, and my daughter, she's like, Daddy, don't do that. Wait, if you did. I'll keep it fresh and clean. If you did grow it out, do you have a full head of hair? I do not, man. It won't probably look about the same. I mean, we always hear coaches and sometimes podcasters saying if your team wins a Super Bowl or a championship, you'll shave the head.
1:12:18You should do the opposite. If the Texans win the Super Bowl, grow it out for six months. Yeah. Yeah, I probably should. Just, man, be somewhere just relaxing, grow out the full beard, the full head of hair, see what I look like there. I do have another question about your defense. It seems like you've got a lot of leaders and a lot of guys that take responsibility and pride in playing hard and hitting hard. Is there one guy that you look at that sets the tone for the rest of the defense out there? Man, it's hard to really say. That's a good thing. It's a compliment to the entire defense. But I would say there's probably three guys I can go to.
1:12:56Number one being Kamari Lassiter. Even from the corner spot, he can set the tone. You got Jalen Petrie at the nickel safety position. He can set the tone. Then you got Aziz, Alshair. So those three guys, out of one of those guys, I know somebody's going to pop it off. Somebody's going to lay a physical hit. Somebody's going to make a big play that's going to spark our entire defense and make the energy just go through the roof. Yeah, it's crazy watching you guys play. Like even that Thursday night football game against the Bills, you guys beat the fuck out of Josh Allen. It's like it's the physicality that's just it pops off because you don't see that as much in today's NFL.
1:13:36Yeah, it's really hard to do. Right. So many rules protecting the offensive players. So you got to do it and do it in a legal way. But I love that our defense is showing people that you still can play a physical brand of football. You can do it clean. And people are still or people can still be excited about defense making big plays, making big hits. So I love the way our guys are playing. Quick break from D 'Amico. We're bringing Coach Dougs back in the lead up to the playoffs, and they're going to play through all the matchups with each school in College Football 26 to see who will bring Glory home.

1:14:56Again, go to www.ea.com slash CFB26 for 50 % off with the College Football 26 Deluxe Edition for Xbox. Okay, back to D 'Amico Ryans. Are you, so I know you guys, you know, most coaches, it's week to week. You're going, you know, you're focused on Arizona right now. But have you taken a little peek at the schedule and are you nervous about Phillip Rivers? Phillip Rivers, is he back? He signed with the practice squad for the Colts today. Man, congrats, Phillip. Man, that's awesome. Yeah. Phillip's older than me, man. I think he's going to do a great job there, though. You know, Shane, he's been with Shane before, so I can understand why Shane is getting him.
1:15:40He knows how to run the offense. He knows how to go out and make great decisions with the football. So, man, I'm excited to see Phillip. Yeah. Did you guys have any battles back in the day? Yeah, he probably got the best of me every time. No, no, he's such a gutsy player, man, such an elite performer. You know, back in the day you had Antonio Gates, Darren Sproles. Man, those guys were unstoppable. So, you know, man, I'm excited to see a guy like that be able to get back into the league. Yeah. You were saying earlier about how you're looking critically about your team, figuring out what you need to improve on every week, where you're lacking.
1:16:16What's the main key this week? The main key is watching the Cardinals and watching them play. I mean, it's a really good team. Good offensive team, good defense. They've been in a lot of tight battles. So it's not a game, I would say, for our team where you just sometimes look at the record. I know I go home, my daughter's like, oh, yeah, they only won this amount of games. It's like, no, baby, it's not that easy. Like, it's the NFL, and Jacoby Brazette is playing really great football. Really like the way he's playing the quarterback position. He's doing a great job. So for us, a key for this team is we got to be on our details.
1:16:53A lot of things to clean up for us offensively from our last game, also defensively with some communications, coverage, identifications and communications. So things that we definitely have to clean up and we have to be on it because if we're not, this is a really good football team despite their record. Yeah. So I want to go back to the beginning of the season. 0-3 start. I know that like you know coaching staffs have belief and they don't get deterred and I understand that we're we sit on the couch and watch the games we're humans so when a team starts 0-3 we're like oh they suck they're done was there any part of you that had a little doubt in your head we're like oh shit like this is not going our way it never I never had a doubt in my mind because if you really look at the games that we lost like we're right there in those games and we We lost those games in the fourth quarter, like all of them, like the last drive of the game is where we lost those games.
1:17:50So for me, it's like, no, man, all we have to do is just make a play here, make a play there, and we could be undefeated. So that's how I was looking at the 0-3 start. I wasn't looking at it as a down year. We suck. I was looking at it, man, as coaches, as players. Everybody find a way to make that one play. If you find a way to make that one play, our record could be flipped. And the guys have just stayed the course no matter how it's looked throughout the season, no matter how games have looked. Guys have stayed the course, made the plays we needed to make, and we finished games the right way, which has allowed us to be in a position we're in right now.
1:18:24All right, so I was definitely in the doubters camp. Every year for the last nine years on this show, a team that starts 0-2 with Super Bowl aspirations, I say it's done. They're done. They're not going to win the Super Bowl. and part of me saying that is that if they do win the super bowl i'll cut off the tip of my pinky you guys are my pinky team this year it's i'm very nervous so the only times i think the the 20 was a 2017 or 18 texans it was 20 yeah maybe 2017 yeah yeah 2018 they were a pinky team uh last year's rams team was the pinky team so i've only i think out of the nine years only two of the teams have gone to the playoffs.
1:19:09You guys look like you're going to go to the playoffs. Like, if you win the Super Bowl and I have to cut off the tip of my pinky, will you at least let me do like a make-a-wish, like come down to camp and like, you know, like put on the pads and run a play with the boys? Like do something for me? We make that Super Bowl. You can do whatever you want, baby. You're welcome here at any time for that Super Bowl. I mean, just think about it though. Like when you're, if you're in the Super Bowl and you're getting ready for the game, you should be like, there's a podcaster whose pinky's at stake here.
1:19:40Maybe think twice. I'm a father as well. Just think twice about it. I don't know. We'll let you save that pinky. You can still come down and run some plays for us. Or at least send him a get-will-soon card while he's in the hospital. Maybe we could figure out a way. If I pussy out of the pinky, maybe Will Anderson gets to blindside sack me. Oh, you don't want that. Or maybe send him a ring. Yeah. Send me a pinky ring. Yeah, send me a pinky ring. Pinky ring, that's a good one. I'm officially nervous, though, because I thought you guys were cooked. I'm an idiot. I'm a moron. And, yeah, that's at stake right now.
1:20:17So you guys are my pinky team, and it's very scary with the way you guys are playing football. Yeah, man. It's the beautiful thing about sports, right? That's why we all love sports. Like, no one truly knows, like, what's going to happen. Everybody has their opinions on how things are going to go, but that's the beauty of it, man. You don't know what's going to happen. That's why you continue to stay locked in throughout a game, throughout a season. So many variables that plays made. That's what makes it so exciting. That's why I enjoy the competition of sports because it may look like you're down and out.
1:20:47But, man, you keep punching. You keep swinging no matter what, and things can flip for you at any given time. And that's where our team is right now. Yeah, after the SEC title game, were you like Alabama's down and out? Man, that was – it hurt us. I mean, for me, watching that game, I thought they were out, but they found a way to get back into the playoffs. And now, hey, they have new life. You're in the playoffs. 0-0 rec, like let's go. See if they can go and beat Oklahoma. Be a great matchup. I know Oklahoma's going to be a rowdy place. But see if Alabama can turn the tide and find a way to get a win.
1:21:21You think Alabama can win the championship this year? Take it one game at a time. And I think, you know, with this team, again, you never know, like, what can happen. Can they win a championship? I think, yes, they can. Every team that's made the playoffs, they're deserving of it, and they have an opportunity to win it. You just got to go out, you know, and make the plays you need to make to win it. I like that you do coach speak even for teams that you don't coach. Do you have an NBA team that you root for? We're rooting for the Rockets, man. So if I were to say, like, do you think they can win the NBA championship this year?
1:21:55You'd be like, we got to take it one game at a time. You can't overlook anybody. Yeah, no. why would you overlook anybody man you got to go out you got to take that approach every single time with me as sports because who are you overlooking like that's to me to overlook somebody is disrespectful to the to your opponent like we're all professionals all those guys play hard they want to win the game so you don't have anybody to overlook you got to go out and play your best every single time you overlook somebody you might end up cutting your pinky off it's a good life You don't want to do that.
1:22:26No. Yeah, not want to do that. So it does feel like your season, you know, obviously the 0-3 start, but it really turned on that Jaguars game when you guys were down 19 and Davis Mills brings you back. Was there anything shared in the huddle or, you know, before that comeback where it's like, oh, it's Davis Mills time? Because he was phenomenal, and he did a great job as a backup in those three games that he started. Davis was outstanding. I mean, in that stretch of games, Davis was able to win three games for us. I mean, that's why we are where we are right now. It's because of what Davis did for us, and especially in that Jacksonville game.
1:23:01It was nothing said. It was just Davis going through his progression. He saw an open there. He took it, was able to run the football in, and it was the huge play that we needed to flip our season. So, I mean, this season can't be talked about without talking about Davis and the job that he's done for our team, just being a backup quarterback, going in, handling your job, handling business the right way, and winning games for us. So, man, shots out to Davis. He's done an outstanding job and, you know, excited to have a backup quarterback of his caliber on our team. Quarterbacks are hard to come by, let alone to have a guy, you know, sitting in a ringer who can go out and win a couple games for you.
1:23:44Man, we couldn't be more happy with Davis. Yeah. Just how big is his neck? It's big, right? Like, we don't know. We've never met him, but we see it on TV. Are you ever like, whoa, that is a big neck, dude? You should meet him, man. We appreciate him. Yeah, we're Davis Mills fans. We're in Mills Mafia. Yeah. Mills Mafia. I like that. When we start scouting quarterbacks, we measure up to the eyes. We don't measure above the eyes in terms of how tall they are. And by that metric, he's got a very efficient body in terms of maximizing his eyes height. So we appreciate him coming right out of the draft.
1:24:24That's awesome, man. Wait, but you didn't answer the question, how big is his neck? Bigger than mine. It's a big neck. There was another moment this season that I thought may have been a pivotal point for you guys too. Maybe you can share with us. but when C.J. Stroud said that we have to have hard conversations with each other, we're having hard conversations now, and we tried to kind of pick up that mantra, and we now have a lot of open, hard conversations amongst ourselves here at Barstool. What type of hard conversations were happening after that 0-3 start? Yeah, it's no hard conversations.
1:24:58It's a conversation about being a professional, right? Just as you guys are, you're expected to do a job and do it to the best of your ability. So it's nothing hard. I guess it's hard nowadays to hear the truth. And that's a lot of things, you know, that everybody has to be able to accept just in our society. Like hearing somebody tell you the truth, hearing someone criticize what you're doing as a professional, like that's our role. And so for me, I always tell the guys the truth on it's either you did a good job or it's not good enough. We've got to find a way to get better. Some guys accept it well.
1:25:33Some guys don't. If you feel like that's, you know, that's a hard conversation, then maybe it is hard for you, but you have to get over it. Understand we're all men here. We all have jobs to do. Some people can't. They don't like the truth sometimes. tell the truth no yeah everybody likes to be told how great they are how great a job they're doing and the criticism sometimes can come off as an attack but it's not we're all here looking to improve we're all looking to grow and get better it's because we care about each other that we're able to tell the truth right exactly do you guys have those conversations a lot it happens all the time like hard conversation let's do a hard conversation right now when you had i can't remember what game it was but you guys couldn't score from the one yard line like 10 plays in a row were you like this is hard conversation i don't know if we can play football anymore that's true yeah that's a hard conversation it's a hard conversation when you can't get in from the one yard line that's a tough one it's a tough one to take but it's true yeah different ways to figure it out like i'm sure nick chubb is probably really good at listening to the hard conversations but is he capable of being a guy that has a hard conversation with somebody?
1:26:44Because I don't think I, in all the mic'd ups that I've ever seen of Nick Chubb, I don't think I've ever heard him actually say a word. I think he's just like completely silent. We love watching him play and he's a beast. But yeah, I guess really what I wanted you to do is just talk about Nick Chubb and what he's like, his presence on your team, because he's one of our favorite running backs. Yeah, one of my favorite guys too, man. Really, like you said, I said on the mic'd up, he's a quiet guy. He doesn't say much, but he doesn't have to say much. Like, you watch this guy work. Like, man, when guys are not even supposed to be in the weight room, they're done with it.
1:27:19He's in there still working, still finding ways to improve his body, make sure he's ready to go. Like, he's just one of the hardest workers I've seen. And he does talk to guys on the side. I see him chatting with guys during practice on the sideline, talking to everybody, rookies, O-line, receivers. He's talking to everybody on the side. but he's more of a one-on-one conversation type of guy. He's not a me guy. It's never about him. He's truly a team guy who is one of the most competitive guys I've been around. Yeah. I saw a clip, I think it was yesterday, Will Anderson, who is an absolute game wrecker, unbelievable player.
1:27:55There was a clip from Sunday Night Football that after the game, Rodney Harrison was like, hey, why did you walk by me and not even give me a head nod or a hello? and Will Anderson explained that when he gets on the field before a game, he gets in such a zone that he'll even ignore his own family trying to say hello to him. Does he acknowledge you when he's in that zone or do you just leave him alone? Yeah, it depends on the game. Sometimes I have to leave him alone. He's so locked in. Sometimes we are locked in. Sometimes he shakes my hand so hard. I'm like, hey, I don't want to. I better not do that again.
1:28:33I better avoid this guy on game day. because he is so locked in. We're doing a team drill on game day, and he goes against our tight ends, and I'm like, oh, my goodness, this is the most violent play ever in warmup. So he is completely locked in. But that's what you want from a guy like him, man. He's always dialed in. You want your guys locked in like Will on game day because that's the most important thing that matters. Yeah, the way he described it was scary because it's like he goes to a different place. The fact that he's like, yeah, I ignore my family sometimes. And then you watch it on the field.
1:29:08You're like, oh, that makes sense. He's just absolutely destroying quarterbacks, destroying games. He's just a weapon out there. He's the Terminator, man. That's why he has that nickname. He's the Terminator. He goes, he's ready to destroy anybody. He's not worried about family. He's not worried. He's worried about destroying his opponent. Yeah, I thought that you guys might be a little intimidated going into last Sunday night's game after Andy Reid's comments that they were going to tickle your tonsils. When you heard him say that, what was your reaction? Right, what I'm doing now, just smiling.
1:29:43Like, okay, all right, Andy. All right, man, I guess they're throwing everything at us. Were your tonsils tickled at all on Sunday night? They were not. Okay. They're pretty cold. Good to know. After last year's loss, I was against the Chiefs, was there any message that you took from that loss into this most recent Sunday night football game that you brought back up you know I didn't mention at all our game from last year the playoff game I thought it was something that was understood for most of our guys and it didn't need to be stated like we understood you know how our season ended there but I don't I didn't want to make it a big deal like to me I truly tried to make it like as you guys said a coach speak like it was the next game like and that's what i want our guys to focus on i didn't want us to put kansas city on this pedestal i just wanted to go out and like let's just play good football i don't care about the names on the jersey i don't care who we're going against let's just go play how the texans play and let's just play relentless versus whatever happens like just be relentless and let's just finish in the fourth quarter that was my mindset that was the approach had nothing to do with last year yeah uh coach i got one last question for you it's the rowback question rho b-a-c-k.com promo code take 20 off your first purchase q-zips polos hoodies joggers shorts rowback.com promo code take the bills thursday night game i noticed something in that game and we actually were doing a case race during the game but i re-watched it after the next morning that end of game deon dawkins gets a uh false start and i was like i don't remember the houston crowd having this much of an impact before have you noticed that this like the crowd and you guys have a true do you notice that you have like a true home field advantage now maybe it's because of the way the defense is playing but it's credit to the fans like it just feels different this year than it has in the past for the fans and and the way the team's playing yeah our fans have definitely improved and that game right there was one of the best i've been a part of where our Our fans truly, they affected the opposing team, and that's how it should be.
1:31:54You know, we're in a dome stadium. It can get pretty loud here when our fans are loud and into it, and I think it does have a lot to do with, you know, it was an exciting game. Like our defense was playing really well, and our fans felt that, man. Our guys actually felt the energy from our fans, so anytime we can make it difficult, man, we need that all the time, man. We need, you know, NRG to be a difficult place to play in, and they proved it the last time we were out. Yeah, it is. It's crazy. Well, good luck the rest of the season. Not too much luck. Just think about my pinky. Again, I'm a father of three.
1:32:28I'll never do it again. So you can win a Super Bowl next year. But just think about it. Just have a little thought about it, okay? I got you, my man. I really appreciate you guys having me on. Head to Chevy.com Learn more Build your own Chevy Silverado Okay let's wrap up the show With guys on chicks Max we taped the show In two different parts So we did the first part of the show Earlier this morning And now we're in the afternoon Are we good? Yeah You stabbed a snowman That doesn't sound like it's good We just did a hug This doesn't need to be like an entire show No I'm just curious if you're feeling less stabby I love you. Yeah. I also think the Eagles are going to make the playoffs.
1:34:17I don't. It doesn't matter. Okay. They're going to get blown out first round, win the Super Bowl next year, or at least make the Super Bowl next year. With the new OC. With the new OC. Yeah, this is just how it goes. Get blown out in the first round, Super Bowl. Blown out in the first round, Super Bowl. This year you just have to get blown out in the first round. Next year, Super Bowl. Max, would you rather not make the playoffs and get a better draft pick? No. I want a first-round blowout so that next year could be Super Bowl. Would that be more embarrassing, though? What if they didn't make the playoffs?
1:34:49I feel like that would show us. No, you're not understanding. I get it. I get to get blown out. I understand the pattern. Preferably by the Bucs, but I don't think it's possible to play the Bucs in the first round. Would you like to apologize for stabbing the snowman? Absolutely not. I wish I – if more were close to me, I would have stabbed them all. Yeah. I just didn't like the – I let you guys do your thing in your room over there. whatever you think that good i'm happy that you guys had your fun i didn't like it being so close i just didn't like it close to me yeah max for stabbing yeah max max be stabbing you you are right it's it's four it will be four years that'll work four-year trend four-year trend go to the super bowl get blown out in the first round go to the super bowl get blown out in the first round it's a good it's a it's a good trend you'd sign up for that i'm signing up for that trend yeah all right guys on chicks why is my boyfriend so bad at keeping secrets i know almost all of my christmas presents and i know he's proposing soon would you like him to keep secrets that's the real question like would you prefer that he just keep stuff from you also the proposing thing is bullshit all girls know because they fucking tell their friends and then their friends tell the the guy what's what ring they want a lot of people just go shopping for rings together now Which I feel like that takes a lot of the surprise out of it.
1:36:09So this is not like you wanted him to know. Because the alternative is he surprises you in a setting you don't like with a ring you don't want. Think about that. So actually, yeah. I think it's just that women overall have such little trust in their guys to do a good job of picking a venue and a ring. Even present. You'd rather just get the Christmas present they want than... Correct. I also think there's something that, and this is just like our dog brains. If I buy something for someone, but I plan on giving it to them in like three weeks, I still want to tell them right away. Be like, oh, I bought you this.
1:36:46My engagement was full surprise. No idea. The ring was. The ring was not. Yeah. That's the thing. But the. The time. The time. The time location. Yeah. But the ring. Time location. But were there any parameters that were set for you? Zero. She didn't say like not at a birds game. No, I just knew that that. That would be a problem. Smart guy. What did you? You didn't even. She didn't even know you were going to be there, right? She didn't even know. I said I had to work that Thursday, and then I went to her family's home in a different state. Wow. What a guy. Yep. That's a fucking solid ass. She was so surprised.
1:37:23She was so surprised. Her sister asked her to get her nails done with her, and she was like, absolutely not. I don't feel like going to get my nails done. Oh. She should have been. She should have known. Getting nails done. Yeah. Stupid by her. Dumb.
1:37:39Okay. Will I ever win the emotional sports battle with my fiance? We were going to get married next fall, but after two years of watching his Saturdays be truly made or destroyed based on how the Tennessee Vols perform in football, I've given up. We're getting married in May. When they lose, he's mad. When they win but don't play great, he's mad. When they win and play great, he's happy, but now all he talks about is the next game or some player, and now I'm mad. I'm a Mississippi State fan so I'm used to disappointment but I don't let it ruin my days and weeks please advise well fortunately it's about to be Atlanta Brave season and Tennessee Volunteers basketball season for Big T so I think she should probably be able to cheer up soon the real answer to this is also when kids come then yeah it will lessen a little bit because you can always drop on him something my wife hits me with that hurts every time.
1:38:31You should be like, your bad mood, the kids notice your bad mood. And then you're like, oh, fuck. All right, you're right. I can't be this upset about a game. And then you, because you can't. That's crazy. A little kid being like, why are you in a bad mood? Oh, the Bears lost. You can't do that. So that will be your, just hit them with that when you have kids. I think the kids should learn, though, that you need to be in a bad mood when your team loses. But you can't have it, yes. Yes, but you can't have it like instantly. Yes, I don't get that comment. But if it's a day after, I get like, hey, it's Monday.
1:39:08We're having dinner, and you're still in a bad mood. Why did Daddy stab Santa or stab the snowman? Well, Santa was a troll. But it is. You're right. I'm allowed to still be in a bad mood right after a game. It's when it carries over. You can't be like, this game has ruined my entire week. when it comes to and your kids make you happy when it comes to just being a guy though we bottle up our emotions so much i do think it's it's kind of healthy to be able to to be angry after something to be excited after if you're mad if you're sad you'd be like i'm so fucking pissed off at my coach i'm so mad about that call the refs fuck the refs i hate the refs i feel like any emotional release for guys is a good thing overall why is it that i can make a joke to my co-workers and they look at me like I'm stupid.
1:39:59And then a week later, a dude can make the same one and it's the funniest ever. Say that again. Probably delivery. Why is it that I can make a joke to my coworkers and they look at me like I'm stupid? Then a week later, a dude can make the same joke and it's the funniest ever. You're not funny. Delivery. It's all about the delivery. Also, maybe your male coworkers are heavier than you. And when heavier people say things, it's funnier. It's actually a compliment that they don't think that you're funny. It means you're too skinny I'd have to see a test case Of how she's delivering this And if she's funny But this reeks of like Why is no one laughing I'm so funny And everyone's like She keeps making these uncomfortable jokes Yeah It's weird So my recommendation would be Put on like 50 pounds Yep Yeah and if it's a dick It's probably like a dick joke You gotta Yeah if you're making a dick joke My culture's not your costume Yeah right It also might be kind of hot Or like a fart joke oh gross I just blew up the bathroom oh a guy dude says that's fucking hilarious like fuck yeah you did bro let me go check wait it sounds in this situation like there's a male co-worker that's actually stealing your jokes yeah doing the same jokes but better like yeah aping your material that's an issue right there I would go to HR absolutely alright this isn't a guys on check but it's a good one to end on in the nightmare scenario that is the Texans and Packers make the Super Bowl.
1:41:29Oh, Jesus. Who will Big Cat and the rest of the crew be rooting for? A pinky being snipped or Packers get another one before the Bears? I think I would have to root for the Houston Texans. I won't even watch. I think I would have to go for... I'm going to get... I think I have to start talking to a doctor or something again. Remember I did that that year? I think I'm going to have to talk to someone. I think if it's... What do you think about this, Big Cat? Texans Patriots first round of the playoffs. How are you feeling going in that? I'm going to be nervous for every Texans game until they're eliminated.
1:42:02It's going to be the same as the Rams. They can win the Super Bowl. Yeah. Like I'm fucked.
1:42:09I think they can absolutely win the Super Bowl. What's their percentage to make the playoffs? High. Very high now. And they have no one playing. They're playing no one at the end of the season. I think they play the Raiders. I just have to hope their offense isn't good enough that's really all it is i think i would have to root for the for the texans because i would like to see the the way that you would manage to get out not get out of it in terms of like abandoning it but like figuring out a way to have it done i'm more curious about that it's the tip of the pinky it's like right i think i could just get it cut off right before the tip of the bone yeah i might actually what what do the packers trade for micah parsons two first rounders so those first round picks are they're both tied into green bay yeah so i'd probably root for the packers then so that the cowboys get a slightly worse pick uh yeah that'd be nice of you yeah i would just yeah i don't know i don't want to think about it but i'm definitely thinking about it i mean i didn't i didn't tell i didn't want to ask demiko ryan's because he's probably can't talk about it but i I said this a couple weeks ago.
1:43:15I looked up, like, is Tank Dell going to come back? Because I'm nervous about that. But that really is. Their offense is not good. So you just hope that their offense stays not good. I think you're all right. I don't know. This is the most wide open. AFC is a gauntlet. Is it? A gauntlet. You said you're not scared of, like, any. The only teams you're scared of in the AFC are not in the playoffs. It's still a gauntlet. It's not a gauntlet. Your only scary teams are the Chiefs and the Ravens. So welcome, Matt. You've been trash-talking the entire conference. It's still a gauntlet. Someone's got to win it, though.
1:43:56Yeah, I need, like, a good old-fashioned, like, give me a Rams-Jags Super Bowl. That'd be fun. That'd be great. Give me something like that. I'd definitely root for the Jags Yeah I mean the whole America would probably root for the Jags America's team Hey you look good by the way You look great Shane is back Shane How you doing Tell us real quick That was your first ever Chargers game You were a Chargers super fan How was it It was unbelievable So far it's insane I have nothing really to compare it to But it was crazy Have you been in any other NFL stadiums? I went to AT &T for WrestleMania, but it's like a different vibe.
1:44:47Yeah. What did you think about the way that the defense played? Defense was unbelievable. It was offense, super, super ugly game, but just unreal game. A lot of ups and downs. Dude, that double fumble play was like the craziest up and down. My heart was bumping through my chest. Yeah. I think that's the first time that's ever happened where you've had all that occur on the same play in NFL history. It was almost like... We already did this. We're talking to Shane. He was at the game. The listener has already heard this conversation. Don't speak for the listeners. They have. I just told you what the listener heard.
1:45:24Shane, from your perspective, how do you think the Eagles played? I think the Eagles... They were unbelievable on defense. Herbert, before overtime, was pressured 72 % or something like that. which is just, I guess, like a record-breaking number. Defense was unbelievable. Offense was just like nobody was open for any team. Did you say hello to any of the players? I did not. We were on, like, the Eagles side. Of the field? Yeah, so we saw, like, Cooper DeGene and stuff like that, but didn't really say what's up. Said what's up to Coop. Did you get a chance to see Jerry O 'Connell at all? I didn't, no.
1:46:03Okay. I was looking out for him, but I didn't catch him. It's a big stadium. Would you say that the defense played better or that the Eagles' offense blew a lot of chances from your perspective at the game? I think the defense played better. There, like, wasn't chances. Like, both scores, both touchdowns were from, like, massive broken plays. That just happened. What about when they got the ball? It was first and goal from the two. What about when they got the ball? It was first and goal from the two, Shane. When was that? Yes, the Eagles got the ball first and goal from the two. They got stuffed on a run.
1:46:37and then Hurts threw a touchdown to A.J. Brown. They got called back by a holding, and then it was a field goal. Yeah. What about it? You said there was no chances. Well, yeah, but, I mean, like – He got you there. Look, Dallas Goddard – How about when A.J. Brown dropped the ball in the end zone? Was that a chance? Yeah. Yeah, I mean, well, you know what I mean. You said there were no chances. I just gave you two chances. I don't know. I brought no hostility towards you. I don't know what this is about. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not bringing hostility. He's just stating fact. But like those are, in the grand scheme of things, the percentage of plays where there's chances, it's like 2%.
1:47:12Like there's nobody open at all. Either team. There was chances. And to Shane's point, 50 % of Max's chances that he brought up were not touchdowns. Right. He was getting stopped from first and goal from the two-yard line and you got stopped and then you committed a penalty then you kicked a field goal. What about that chance, Shane? I didn't say that. All right, well, we're happy you're back, Shane. Jackpocket, today's lottery ball segment is brought to you by Jackpocket, America's number one lottery app. Jackpot season is officially here. Memes, I don't want to do it because you keep getting it and it's like this. Come on. Number three. I think that was Hank. That was Hank. I'm going to cancel Hank. How did you fall for that one? I'm canceling Hank. You're canceling him? I'm canceling him. Personally. No, just blasting that photo out. What number are you going to pick now? I don't know. I'm just focusing on canceling Hank. Okay. This would be insane if it was... 100. I like that pick. Memes, do you have a number or no?
1:49:2399 put. Memes, you got a number? You're going to pick a number? 48. 16. That's good. Also, there's a big fear that Memes gets it on the one time he doesn't pick three. Yeah, I know. That's what happened to me. Yeah, I know. That's a dangerous game of the three that we play. It is. I'm going to go 57. I'll go 15. 31. Like, 48 seems like such a better number than three. It does. It does. Like, I can see 48 popping up there. You want to swap, Memes? You want to swap back? With what? With three? Hank? Is it on the table? Yeah. I don't want to get canceled. Go ahead, memes. You want to swap? Yeah. Officially.
1:50:14Officially swap. Official swap. This counts. No canceled. Let's go. Oh, what if it's 48? No, no, no, no. All right, I'm going 57 for a shout out to AWO Mike Davin. He said, my girlfriend just watched the pod for the first time and gets 13 for the lottery ball and said, wow, that was so easy. Then I explained to her how part of my memes has never gotten it How he's never gotten it She said How has he never gotten it She said And then she guessed 57 for this one That's a good guys on chicks question Probably cheats on them
1:50:47Oh man Does everyone else guess? 8 48 48 coming up would be a problem 57 3 coming up would also be a problem 34 You want to do one more? How many He's 43 guesses away from beating No, now he's 42 42 Same numbers? Yeah, same numbers You didn't get it Nope Nope Nope So this is 3 74 74. I mean, 74. Love you guys.
1:51:59Thank you.
1:52:27Thank you.

1:53:26Bye.
