2:05The crown is yours. Today is Wednesday, January 21st. And the Indiana Hoosiers are national champions of the college football world. Let me just say it again because it is still so crazy. The Indiana Hoosiers are national champions of the college football world. PFT, it's the craziest story. It's, well, let's first talk about the game. What a game. We deserve this. We haven't had a national championship that was one score. I think the last one was the two a game. Yeah. So it had been a long time. It had been blowouts. This game was tight. It looked like Miami was dead in the first half. They come roaring back.
2:45You have, like, big-time plays. The back shoulder throw to Charlie Becker over and over was just unguardable. Fernando Mendoza calling his own number with the goal line run. It was awesome. It was a great game. It was an awesome game. You're right. Miami did look dead in the first half. The offense wasn't doing jack shit. And then the second half came out, and Mark Fletcher kind of took over for a little bit. The offensive line started blocking people. And the Miami defense also played really well. Oh, they were insane. Like, the defensive line, the first half wasn't exactly a great half for Indiana either.
3:17Miami's defensive line was just beating the fuck out of him, sometimes to the point of we're not sure if that was legal or not. Yeah. But they didn't call it, so I guess it is legal. Fernando Mendoza might be one of the toughest guys. I'm the biggest Fernando Mendoza guy now because he is just so fucking tough. And the spin zone on that is Fernando Mendoza got to show that he can take a beating, which he will likely have to do as a Las Vegas Raiders quarterback next year. What do you say? He can take shots from the front and the back? Shots from the front and the back. Shout out to Bella Danger, Miami super fan that was in the crowd last night.
3:48Yep. She looked a little distraught after the game. She was upset. I actually had an idea last night. You know the show Heat Rivalry? Yeah. We're all big fans. They should do one of those shows, but it should be about college football super fans. I like that. Like maybe a Bella Danger and Mike Pence at the game last night together. It's a Romeo and Juliet type situation. The full Miami, by the way, the full Miami fan, the sideline experience is so funny because you had a Bella Danger. You had Michael Irvin, who I still don't know how he got the – I understand how he got the access, but he was coaching the guys during the game and then posting the clips.
4:28You had Ray Lewis tell Carson Beck before the final drive, I'm going to fucking kill you if you throw an interception. So we haven't seen Carson Beck since. And then you had one of my favorite pictures, Malachi Tony being consoled by Ed Reed after the game. Ed Reed's wearing the big giant hat. The funny hat. Yeah. And he's wearing it backwards. Just so Miami. Yeah, it was very Miami. I think Michael Irvin's job is just be Michael Irvin. He is the executive vice president of being Michael Irvin. Yeah. for the Miami Hurricanes. It's a situation where you have Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Michael Irvin. They want to be on the sidelines, and I simply don't think that Miami has enough coaches and security personnel to keep them off the sidelines.
5:07It's easier just to invite them in all the way. Sure. We'd rather keep them close than have them do things in the shadows behind our backs. I thought that, yeah, in the second half, Miami got the ground game going. Fletcher is awesome. I've loved watching Fletcher this entire year. he's going to be back next year and I think the Hurricanes are going to have another great team and Malachi Tony he Malachi Tony is so electric to watch because you can watch a game where Malachi Tony's you know in the game and you could see Indiana was very very focused and Indiana was so good defensively they don't make a lot of mistakes they were so focused on anytime Malachi Tony touched the ball they had guys there right away and the defensive coordinator afterwards said you can't stop him you're just hoping that you have people there to tackle him right away and And you just know he's one of those guys when you're watching him play, you're like, he's going to break one eventually.
5:55He's going to do something eventually. And then he did. He scored a touchdown. But by Indiana's resolve, special teams, that punt, you know, the punt block for a touchdown. That was the play of the game. And then Fernando Mendoza keeper, Indiana was just the – Going for it there too. Yeah. I like the call to go for it. Yep. The ball's on Signetti to go quarterback draw. They hadn't run Mendoza really all night. and to have him do that play when I watched because there's so many different parts of what Mendoza does on that fourth and five that it was like the Vince McMahon meme in real life where he's just progressively getting more and more excited watching something it's like oh the juke that's nice oh the spin the truck stick that's nice yep the spin move oh my god and then the dive into the end zone it was like just an incredible sequence for Mendoza and it was a play that will make you, even if you're not an Indiana fan, if you're an Indiana fan, that is the best thing that you've ever seen in your entire life.
6:51And you probably won't top it. That's just at every Indiana bar, hung as big and framed as you could possibly get it. It's going to be seared into your brain forever, and it's very rare that you get that type of moment if you're a fan of a team. And even as somebody who's not a fan of Indiana, watching that, I'm never going to forget watching that play. Oh, yeah. It was so incredible to see that. It was so incredible. And then Miami had a shot at the end, which, you know, Carson Beck, Miami had a great season. Carson Beck, their three losses. And, you know, I think Carson Beck's one of those guys that we've seen a lot of him in college football.
7:27We don't know what's going to make of him in NFL. I think he's an okay quarterback, but not, you know, he's been in these. He's an okay quarterback. A national champion. He's an okay quarterback. There's a stat. Do you see the stat? Yeah, the three losses for Miami this year. I think he has six losses in his college career. Four of them came on an interception when they had a chance to win the game. Yeah, so he lost by three to SMU this year. No, you're a stats guy. Interception in overtime. Lost by three to Louisville. Interception to end it. Lost by six to Indiana. That doesn't matter. Interception to end it.
8:00It was – and I actually – it's crazy it sounds because I think there were some people who were debating Signetti's call to then kick a field goal at the end of the game to go up six instead of trying to end the game right there. I had no problem with it because you're basically saying Carson Beck has to go the entire length of the field, and I don't know if he can, and he couldn't. I had no problem with it because Signetti made the call, and Signetti's always right. I think at this point we have to all agree that Signetti, whatever he does for the rest of his career, whatever moves he makes in-game, in the portal, in recruiting, you name it, he's right.
8:32He's just right about everything. He's right about everything. Just accept that fact now, or else you can just fight about it and be mad at yourself later. I saw a crazy stat, Hank. You'll appreciate this since you're a stats guy now. Indiana didn't lose a single fumble over its last 15 games. 15-game streak, no fumbles lost. That's 1 ,047 plays that they ran. What? No, I'm just kidding. Oh. Yeah, they lost a fumble in the first game. That was a fake buzzer. Yeah, it was a fake buzzer. They turned fumbles off. They turned fumbles off. They turned fumbles off for the season. So since 2004, there hasn't been a single team that's gone 12 or more consecutive games without losing.
9:12Indiana did for 15 games. Again, 1 ,047 plays, no lost fumbles. That's pretty incredible right there. It's the whole thing is just nuts. It defies logic. I think that we aren't talking enough. I know that people, you know, there's been a lot of talk about, hey, Indiana, this is the craziest story in sports. Definitely the craziest story in college football. But we're not even saying it enough. Like, it's so mind-boggling that Kurt Signetti was able to do this in two years. The only analogies that I could come up with took a lot longer. and they were Bobby Bowden at FSU because Florida State, before Bobby Bowden showed up, was actually going to get rid of their football program.
9:53They were in women's college for a long time. He basically made that program as Bobby Bowden. And the other one would be Jim Calhoun at Connecticut. They were under.500 for their entire history. He comes, again, though, it takes over a decade, wins multiple national championships. Kurt Signetti did those two guys would be the closest analogies. Kurt Signetti did it in two years. Yeah. Well, Brad Stevens at Butler. Brad Stevens and Butler is a pretty good one. Yeah. But he didn't win it all. No. Right. Jim Calhoun and Bobby Bowden won it all. Yeah. Here's just so we could talk about big picture how crazy he is, but this is just in this season.
10:28Because this is what I think. Indiana was so dominant at the end of the year that it was kind of a foregone conclusion they were going to win it all. It's kind of funny. It was like, well, the plucky underdogs from Miami being able to take down the juggernauts from Indiana. Right. But before the season, they were 150-1 to win the college football playoff. They obviously had a great year last year, but they played two big-time teams in Notre Dame and Ohio State and weren't very competitive. So everyone had their doubts. They're a really good team, but they can't win it all. So 150-1, if you were looking at similar odds right now, and this is to put it into perspective, it'd be the Marlins to win this upcoming World Series.
11:08It'd be Nick Benito to win the Super Bowl MVP. Oh. it would be the sons to win the nba finals yeah ghana to win the world cup well they're going to beat the u.s in the knockout stage yeah and utah state to win march madness i mean nick benito sounds like that's a tasty one but it's crazy and indiana has been playing football since 1899 indiana has six total bowl victories in the history of their program and half of those have come in the last 19 days they won a bowl in 1979 they won a bowl game in 1988 they won a bowl game in 1991 and then since january 1st they've won three more it's nuts they were the losingest school in history in college football and kurt signetti showed up and he just did it yeah i mean a lot of credit to signetti i also think mendoza what he did in these playoffs was was incredible Absolutely nuts.
12:04Like, he was by far, he was the best player. You can make arguments about, you know, Malachi Tony, obviously, when he had the ball in his hands, that guy is hard to tackle. But what Mendoza did for the Indiana Hoosiers is far and away the most impressive performance, I think. And he's every bit deserving of the Heisman Trophy. Yep. He showed that, you know, we got to see there was some debate beforehand about who should win. Some called it a lackluster year in terms of stats and all that. but what he did in the playoffs and especially what he did on that fourth and five that is just it's a moment it's a moment of college football that we're going to remember for the rest of our lives and i think uh to to the signety factor in all this i think it's the best thing to ever happen to college football and i also think it's the meanest thing oh yeah to ever happen i agree with all of that because the expectations now could not be higher for the no offense the arizonas and the Maryland's of the world.
12:59I mean, you can go even a little higher than that. I'm watching this and saying, I've, for my, you know, since I went to college, I said, I love watching University of Wisconsin play football. I'm very happy when they win 10 games, when they go to a Rose Bowl, all these things. I understood where the University of Wisconsin was in the pecking order. And the fact that a college football playoff berth is there, winning a national title is probably never going to happen because you don't win a national title unless you have an inordinate amount of five-star and four-star recruits. And what Indiana did is said everyone can win a national title, but actually not really because you don't have Kurt Signetti.
13:39And it was kind of nice when you had the Nick Sabans of the world running the show, and every other fan base was kind of kept in line by that. And they were like, yeah, well, we're not Alabama. We're not Georgia. We're not Ohio State. We really don't have a chance to do anything. Yeah. And then all of a sudden the NIL, which interestingly enough, it doesn't sound like Indiana. I don't think all the figures are public, but Signetti implied after the fact that their NIL budget was not what people thought that it was. It was still significant. It was good. It wasn't like they just went and bought.
14:12It wasn't maybe what a Texas Tech did this year. Yeah. But it was still significant. So you can't say that they didn't have very strong alumni support. Yeah, the largest living alumni base in the United States. They always throw in living in there. And you can see the prices for the game and everything. Yeah, so this was Indiana obviously went 16-0. First time it's been done since Yale in 1894. Yale went 16-0 as well. That's a long time. But back to your point, it is kind of mean because there is a small sliver of hope for basically every team in college football right now. We're like, if Indiana can do it, literally, again, just to reiterate, they're losing his program in the history of college football until Kurt Signetti showed up.
15:01They had never won 10 games, and then he does it back-to-back years and wins a national title. Everyone can say, hey, we have a shot, but you really don't, because like I said, Kurt Signetti might be a one-of-one type of guy. He might be one-on-one. And last night, I want to know how many drinks Mark Cuban had with Kurt Signetti. Because if Signetti was smart, and who knows how long he's going to stick around a coach, it would be hilarious if he just retired right now and then made everybody ask him to come back every single year. He alluded to it. He said he needed the money. He's like, it'd be the greatest story ever if I retire, but I need the money.
15:36I think that he kind of should walk away. Yeah. But what he should have done last night is talk to Mark Cuban, who was at the game, cornered him had like 12 to 20 drinks with him and just made cuban open up the biggest checkbook of all time and fund the nil and in perpetuity for the next like 20 years he's like yeah okay i'll put me down for 50 mil a year because mark cuban in that instance was so happy probably so drunk and one of the richest people in the entire country you could you could just keep this train rolling for forever at that i want to know how much mark cuban gave to this team because i Listen, we like Mark Cuban, but I feel like he might not have given all that much this year.
16:18That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Yeah, I'm saying he's just getting richest guy. Everyone's like, well, they have Mark Cuban. Yeah. I'd like to know. But here's the thing with the NIL stuff. It doesn't matter if you don't get the right guys. That's what Kurt Cignetti has done at an elite level is his talent evaluation is so far ahead of everyone. Yeah. That you could have$50 million. that doesn't mean you're going to win a national title if you pick the wrong guys if you pick the pieces that don't fit together yeah so that's where kurt signetti has done an incredible job and just so so to put it in perspective because this now is the list and it's pretty crazy kurt signetti at indiana in the two years so this is all the accomplishments they've done in two years two years first 10 win season in program history first 11 win season in program history first 12 win season in program history first 13 win season 14 win season 15 win in season 16 win season all in program history vorst undefeated season in program history first top five matchup in programs history vorst win over the number one team in program history vorst time being the number one team in program history vorst heisman in the program history vorst time beating ohio state in 37 years vorst time winning the conference outright in 80 years, first playoff appearance in program history, first playoff win in program history, first bowl win in 35 years, first Rose Bowl win in program history, first time beating Alabama in program history, first Peach Bowl win in program history, 27-2 record in that time span, best in the country, and those two losses were the two teams that played for last year's national championship, and then, of course, first national championship in program history, the first ever champion since 1996 Florida.
17:59It's insane. That's all the things he did in the last 18 months. That's a great run. It's an insane. He just keeps stacking it up. It's basically like playing college football on freshman mode and just getting your war chest just every time it pops up. Oh, you got another trophy. Oh, you got another trophy. Oh, you got another trophy. It's also so mean. It's also so mean for everybody else. It's like, we just need our Kurt Signetti. And one of my favorite Kirk Cignetti subplots that happened was his daughter's tweet from 2019 after he won with JMU went re-viral where she said wins first D1 playoff game, scores 66 points, improves to 12-1.
18:42And it's a text that she sent to her dad saying, are you happy? And he said, no. Yep. And then she updated it today after winning the national title and said, this has gone re viral. The tweet of mine from 2019 has resurfaced randomly. Everyone is wondering if you're happy now. So are you happy? And he said, yes. Yeah. He finally did it. He finally smiled. He achieved happiness. He smiled several times. Maybe not. He didn't smile during that punt block. No. Like the most surprising play of the game. Maybe the biggest swing of the game. Kamara blocked the punt, recovered in the end zone. Miami goes up or uh Indiana goes up two scores at that point right and he wasn't even surprised he wasn't phased by that but he did smile last night he smiled a lot he was very happy uh the JMU angle of it for me because a lot of people are like oh you must not be that happy for Kurt Signetti because he left you now he's Kurt Signetti as we all know him my my honest feelings watching it are I'm so happy for the guy I'm really happy for the guy and it was a small part of it maybe just stood out to me after the game but the guys were they were crowded around the championship trophy and when they touched it for the first time it was five JMU players that touched it and the five guys that that contributed a lot to this Indiana team same five memes put that down same five of the year might be the Indiana guys from JMU um it was very cool to see that Fisher Surratt Pons uh Black and Kamara and Signetti playing such a big part yeah in such an incredible story and shout out our guy Mike Kadic and our guy got a shout out after the game yeah from the offensive line being like hey last year culture wise Signetti shows up with a bunch of JMU guys and Kadic made it a a point that we got to make sure we have a cohesive locker room and you know a mash of a bunch of people and he got you know guys were shouting him out last night being like hey you you built a lot of this culture of two teams kind of coming together and achieving this goal it's a very cool moment for him it's like remember the titans except it's like group of five guys and then power four guys coming together in the locker room yeah what a touching story yeah no i i i did think at one point uh last night after i saw that picture of them and i thought to myself like how did these guys not just win every single game at jmu and i thought oh yeah the one the one game that they lost how big of a mush am i that the only game i went to yeah they my my losing energy was so powerful that it it made these national champion juggernauts lose at home to app state yeah tough break you did it i did it but yeah i saw the signet you're the signet stopper i am it's a it's a great story though i do think it's the most incredible story for college football maybe ever that we've ever had and you said it the best hire of ever the best hire yeah think think about the hire i think the one that i brought up last time we talked about uh michelangelo he's the one that painted the sistine chapel right yeah but it took him eight years yeah it took signetti to two so i think best higher oppenheimer took him a while to build that bomb yeah that was good hire a four-year project yeah he got results but then he built that bomb but then the seat got pretty hot on oppenheimer afterwards once korea started to go it's a what have you done for me lately yeah i saw that movie the black and white was uh flash or no that was flash forward flash forward yeah i think i think kurt signetti is the best person to be hired for any job ever the only one that you could maybe make an argument right now would be the athletic director at indiana yeah when you hired him scott dolson yeah he's the one that hired kurt signetti so really he he got he might get that and he said that you know saw a little bobby knight in him and and now it the the history books are perfect that the uh last undefeated season in college football is the Indiana Hoosiers, and the last undefeated championship in college basketball is the Indiana Hoosiers.
22:3350 years apart. 50 years apart. Every 50 years, Indiana takes over the world. Yeah. And they also have a great chant. Who, who, who, Hoosiers? And they also have the boys' banners on the wall. Shout out those guys. Those guys have, you know, that video. This is Indiana. Yeah, we do it big. And the Fernando song is just... Oh, Fernando. I mean, ABBA rocks. We all know ABBA rocks. but yeah uh fernando mendoza is he's awesome i'm a huge huge fan of the toughness i was yeah he's dorky i was disappointed last night why he dropped a hard f-bomb yeah hard f-bomb on tv he let it slip yeah i was i was fine with it for him give us a synergy yeah he hit us with a synergy did he say amalgamation last night he might have it he also was uh he was with uh scott van pelt and he was talking about mentors and who he talks to, and he said that Scott had been queued up to ask him about Tim Tebow, and he just kept on calling him Mr.
23:28Tebow. He's like, and I called Mr. Tebow today, and he told me about the game, and Scott was like, you can call him Tim. He's like, all right, Tim. He's just a cynical, terrible world. He's a fucking seems like just a great dude. But I also think that if you look at how he prepares and how he practices football, he's probably a complete fucking psychopath. Oh, yeah, no. No, he was talking about stoicism, that it's just the only thing that matters is the moment you're in right this second. Yeah, he's definitely a psychopath, but he's the nicest psychopath that you'll ever meet. Yeah. Hey, do you guys want to go fingers up for a second?
24:02I was thinking about this last night, and I'm not going to take credit for this because I did some digging. I was watching the pregame and everyone besides McAfee picked Miami including Nick Saban who didn't only just pick Miami but he put on the hat and I know Nick Saban is Mario Cristobal they have a relationship too but Kurt Signetti was the recruiting director and wide receiver coach for Nick Saban when he first got to Alabama in 2007 he was there for three years and I was like huh that's weird he doesn't really talk about signetti there you don't see a lot of like signetti sabin talk uh it seems a little forced why is that what's going on here so i went did some digging and this was someone else's theory i have two actually two theories but this is someone else's theory is there a chance that nick sabin knew back in 2007 that kurt signetti was a one-of-one type of coach and specifically did not promote him to oc because he didn't want him to become the best college football coach in america i always thought that they were so so much alike that they might not have gotten along well so how it went was nick saban hires him he does a great job as wide receivers coach and and and uh recruiting uh director finding great talent i think julio jones was part of it like a lot of great players and nick saban then hires i think i can't remember I think it was Major Applewhite or someone, and then Jim McElwain for OC.
25:36And Kurt Cignetti basically said, this guy's never going to promote me to OC, so I have to go start from the bottom in D2 and work my way up. Did Nick Saban specifically not promote Kurt Cignetti because he's like, hey, if this guy gets a head coaching job, he's going to be known as the greatest head coach of all time, not me. Because winning a national championship in Indiana is probably worth four at Alabama. So if he wins one more, he already has passed Nick Saban. Almost doubled him if he wins one more. Also, the minor one, people will say, Kurt Signetti, Nick Saban coaching tree. It's actually reverse because Nick Saban was on Frank Signetti's staff at West Virginia, Kurt's dad.
26:23So Nick Saban is in the Signetti coaching tree. so Nick Saban's been trying to keep the world from Kurt Signetti for all these years and finally he's popped off that's why he put on the Miami hat I think he was rooting for Miami because he didn't want the world to know that he had tried to stop Kurt he basically was like hey I'm not going to give this guy an OC job by the time he gets to the Division 1 and gets to a Power Forward program he's going to be in his 60s which is what happened how could he possibly catch all my records by the time he's in his 60s Just something to think about. That's his brother.
26:59Frank Signetti Jr. is his brother. Frank Signetti, if you're a senior, was a coach at West Virginia when Nick Saban was a DB's coach in 1978-79. So Nick Saban is part of the Signetti coaching tree. Yeah, it's interesting because I hadn't really thought about why he didn't promote him. I always thought it was because there was so much alike that they must not get along. No, I think there was – I've talked to – at least not fact-checked, but talk to some people who are in the know of how all these dynamics work. And Nick Saban was – and you can't really fault Nick Saban for this. He was more into hiring younger OCs.
27:34Kurt Signetti was already in his 50s when he was at Alabama, but he quickly realized, hey, I'm doing a really good job and I'm not getting the OC job. I got to get out of here. And then he bet on himself. So you kept him from us for a long time, Nick Saban, but now he's here, and if he wins three national titles at Alabama, I would you'd have to start making the argument. He's the best college coach of all time. You also have if he goes and wins the Super Bowl to with the Dolphins or the Steelers. Yeah. No, he's not leaving. No, he said I'm a college coach. He's not. That was getting paid. Like, I think he I think with the bonuses, he made 14 and a half million this year.
28:11Yep. And he's got a contract that means that they have to renegotiate. So that was the other thing in talking to some of some sources. Let's say, I guess all these guys. Guys, this is such a racket, the college football world and the coaching world. All these guys have contracts where they have clauses that are linked to each other. Yeah. So if Lane Kiffin gets a raise, Kurt Cignetti gets a raise. Yeah, based on his performance as a coach. No, but there's also specific ones like if this specific guy gets a raise, I get a raise. So they all just keep getting raises on top of each other. That's so awesome.
28:45Yeah. But yeah, Kurt Cignetti. I mean, I'm happy the world knows of him. He is just a football guy through and through. the scowl, the snarl. He just loves, he's a little off. And I say that in an endearing way. It's kind of a Harbaugh off. It's like a good off. The great irony about Signetti is that, yeah, he does seem like the grumpiest old man coach of all time. And I'm sure that he is. But then when he does the sideline interviews, he snaps out of it. Yeah. And he becomes uncharacteristically warm and open to answering questions thoughtfully and truthfully. Yep. And then he gets back into grumpy old coach mode.
29:19maybe he just likes holly bro a lot i don't know maybe maybe she reminds him of a sister or something but he just like he he flips it on and off and he's definitely an awesome football mind obviously a great motivator he's the best coach in college football and i think it's that talent recruiting too that's just that doesn't get talked about enough with him where he's just finding talent finding talent and it's not obviously every team tries to find talent overlooked guys and it's really hard to do if you look at the history of college football the teams that win they have the most five-star recruits and the guys that aren't five-star guess what they've got like they're going too deep on four stars and three stars and the depth that they have is incredible he is finding great players that will buy in to what he's doing and then taking them along for the ride and winning with it and it's it's absolutely incredible i'm very happy for for hoosier fans out there yeah uh this it's just the best story ever there might be a football school now yeah yeah i mean kurt signetti had uh he was he had a hand in julio jones in mark ingram he was because he was the recruit when when yeah he was a recruiting director when saban started alabama went on to win obviously six national titles like got that thing rolling i did look up uh yale's schedule in 1894 oh so they went 16 and oh guess how many points yale allowed that year 12 i was gonna say 22 uh they allowed 13 points okay but it seems like the offense might have been a problem for yale because they had two games where they gave up four points so oh they beat that might have been intentional safeties they might have been intentional safeties but it looks like yeah they had they had a game where they gave up four points on october 10th 1894 and then later on the second to last game november 24th right before thanksgiving they're playing harvard they won 12 to 4 yeah they gave up yeah they gave up four safeties that year not Great.
31:12Oh, no. And then the other game where they gave up points, that was at Army. They won 12-5. So they gave up five safeties that year. Wow. That's an issue. That is an issue. I would be remiss to say that Big Ten owns College Football World third in a row. I think that's the first time since the 40s. And the fact they did it with three unique national titles, Michigan, Ohio State, and then Indiana. the thought did cross my mind last night that maybe this is just how the universe is going to work and we're just going to go down the line of Big Ten schools and everyone gets a turn probably not going to happen also probably not the best watch if you're a Penn State or like Oregon fan because you've spent years being like our turn's coming our turn's coming and then Indiana in the same conference no actually it's our turn probably Penn State that was a tough one I wonder how many times Penn State has beaten Indiana since their last national championship.
32:11Yeah. You can live with the Michigan and Ohio states of the world, but then when you see Indiana, if you're Penn State, you're like, wait, what the fuck? Bad for Notre Dame, too. Bad for Notre Dame. Notre Dame's watching this like we weren't. Well, no, they can just be like, if we were in the playoff, we would have won. Yeah. Marcus Freeman did a pretty good job on the... Also, Notre Dame can say, because people were replaying CJ's car. Wait, is that his name? Yeah. Wait, no, who's their quarterback's name? I already forgot. Yeah, yeah, CJ Carr. CJ Carr in the first game of the season ran an almost identical QB draw.
32:46So Notre Dame technically won the national title. They stole it. Because they gave it to Indiana. I thought, by the way, you mentioned it earlier, but the back shoulder throws that he threw, that was, I mean, people aren't going to remember it as much as that quarterback draw. No. But without that play, the draw doesn't happen. And they did it a couple times. Charlie Becker, like, that is a perfect pass, perfect catch. Cannot guard that. Yeah. It was insane to watch. Yeah, he's – yeah, it was crazy. He didn't play – Charlie Becker didn't play until the Penn State game. Yeah. Right. And then once he played in that Penn State game and basically won him that game, he was, like, one of the best receivers in America for the rest of the year.
33:25He's the only – he was the only receiver that didn't get brought in by Signetti, and Signetti just asked him to stay. Yeah. And now he's just going to be the best receiver in college football. The narrative I've made up. He's talking about it nowhere. The story I made up in my head about Charlie Becker is that Signetti told everybody that was a wide receiver, get in the fucking portal. Get out of here. And then Becker was the only one that fought back against him. It was like, no. Signetti was like, that's an order. Get in the portal. He's like, no, sir, I won't. I won't leave. And then it went back and forth four times.

33:54And he's like, fine, that was a test. You passed. You can be a Hoosier. It was incredible to watch. Incredible to watch. What a season. Do you see the fight after the game? Yeah, what happened there? So, shoot, I forget who was the guy on Indiana, but it was Fletcher on Miami. They said he threw a punch. It looked more like it was an open-handed slap to the side of his head. Okay. I'm fine with it. I'm fine with the slap. I was less impressed with the guy from Indiana who then immediately tried to call his teammates over for backup and then ran away after it was over. I didn't have any problem with Mark Fletcher doing that because he was also the first guy to congratulate Mendoza, and it didn't seem like he was just mad at Indiana.
34:36I think something might have been said. Something might have been said. Yeah. Also, maybe, Zach, take this down because we're going to prep for the takeies. We have a takey nominee that we'll revisit in the summer, but Colin Coward last year tweeted, The entire playoff is experimental. Things will change. Potential reseeding after round one. It may expand to 14 games. Change is inevitable, but let's make one non-negotiable rule. Indiana can never be invited again. Whoops. Nice job. Indiana broke a lot of people's brains. It took a long time. I think there's still brains that are broken. I think Feinbaum's brain is still broken because the sport has always been run by blue bloods.
35:18And then Indiana came and crashed the party and did it in dominant fashion. Well, Feinbaum had a dog in the fight. He's just, he's a pro SEC mouthpiece. Yeah. That's the role that he has to play. Yes. But yeah, I mean, Signetti is a rare example of a guy that came in talking the most shit and then doubled backing it up. He came in and he said, I win, Google me. And then, which was cocky as it could be. And then came in and said, Purdue sucks. And everyone's like, well, yeah, Purdue kind of does suck at football. Like they have a good basketball team. And that's also your rival. So you know you're going to say it.
35:53But then he's like, no, no. and Michigan sucks and so does Ohio State. They all suck. I think we probably talked about that on part of my take. It'd be interesting to see what our reaction was to in real time. I think we said that we liked it. But we also didn't take it seriously because it's like, oh, that's just coach speak. A new guy comes, they go on the basketball court after they get announced as a new football coach. They say, hey, we're going to beat our rival. Okay, yeah, that makes sense. You're not going to beat Michigan. No, he did. Yeah, he's bigger than... Purdue sucks, but so does Michigan and Ohio State.
36:26I fucking love it, man. He's bigger than the bulletin board. It's so much joy. These are the joyful sports moments where it's just like, this guy rocks. And he went and called it out, and he just did it. His name's Sig, too. His name is Sig. His name's Kurt, too. I saw some of this game. I was in Indiana last night, and I stopped into a dive bar because I was ordering some dinner. I was picking it up. And the dive bar that I walked into was the most Indiana scene I think I've ever seen in my entire life. It was, I don't think there was anybody under the age of 45 in there. One guy had an eye patch on.
36:57The guy that was the drunkest at the bar was about 67 years old. He had hair that went down to like the small of his back. I couldn't understand a single word that he was saying. People were playing pool, smoking cigarettes, and they had the game on the shittiest TV that had like a crack through the middle of it, but the sound on it was blaring through the entire bar. And everybody was just locked in on this game. every single thing that happened. And I've never been in a happier place. Smoking cigarettes inside. It was an incredible place to watch my brief glimpse into this national championship game.
37:32I didn't know. You were in Indiana? You didn't know that Kevin Warren hired him? He's scouting for the Gary Indiana Bears. Oh, nice. Yeah, they had to figure out. PFT had to go down there and figure out where they're going to put the flight simulator. Well, that and also they had to see if there was ample space for tailgating. So I was just drinking beers in the parking lot for the most part. Pretty magical. If you were an advanced scout for the Gary, Indiana, the Gary bears, listen, I, whatever you need to do, whatever you need to do to just care bears, drive up the, the amount of money you can get to renovate soldier field, make it a place that you can get in and out of.

Oh, no, actually, technically, Sean McDermott was fired in between shows, but credit to us, we essentially said that had to happen. So I'm actually, because that will happen to us every now and then with our opinions not always being spot on, where there's an alternate world where we could have done an entire show on Sunday and said, you got to keep Sean McDermott.
39:59And then he gets fired two seconds later. We kind of expected this to happen. I think a lot of people expected this to happen. Brandon being promoted. They're going to now find, this now becomes, in my mind, the number one job. Yeah. it's the number one job open yeah so that they should be able to get whoever they want they they should get whoever they want i i wonder if there's some coaches that have been hired already that are like damn i wish i could interview for the bills job i would say john harbaugh might be thinking that he might be in those same lines uh stefanski might be thinking that he might be thinking that same way although they just hired uh callahan to be their offensive line coach not not the big tom callahan son big time no they hired big tom callahan yeah the o-line coach is doing the same thing in Atlanta.
40:43But yeah, I feel like you got Josh Allen. McDermott was a great coach for the moment that he needed to be there in terms of getting the Bills to the playoffs, stabilizing the franchise a little bit. He's a good defensive coach, I think. But it was time. It was just time. And if they can get somebody in there, I don't want to say like a John Gruden, but like a John Gruden, to be a hard ass, to give him a little bit of edge. Because McDermott never had any edge to him. Well, and the defense, you know, failed them. Because that's the thing. We said it. Josh Allen didn't play great on Saturday in Denver.
41:22That game was a winnable game. He had too many turnovers. But if you look at the bills in the Sean McDermott-Josh Allen playoff history, Josh Allen gets them to 30 points like every time. Yeah. And their defense is just – it's crazy as it sounds. I don't think it's the worst to get an incredible defensive coach knowing that Josh Allen can just do it. Yeah. You know, like Brian Flores. Dave, I mean, if you look at their history of playoff losses, yeah, you're right. For the most part, the most recent one stood out because, yeah, Josh fucked a few things up. But, yeah, if you have a defense that's marginally better, that gives you a big advantage of the playoffs.
42:02And that was what Sean McDermott was supposed to be. That's his M.O. is he's a defensive coach. Hank, you rolled your eyes a little bit when we were talking about the next coach. What are your thoughts on the Bills? No, I just would hate Gruden going there. It would break my heart. That'd be tough. You think Rex Ryan is going to volunteer for this job too? Maybe. He might. Yeah. So in the Bills' losses, this is the points they scored in the Bills' playoff losses in the last six years. They scored 30 points on Saturday. They scored 29 points last year. They scored 24 points. The low one is 10 when they got killed by the Bengals.
42:40So that was bad offense. They scored 36 in the OT game to the Chiefs, and they scored 24. So they've scored points. They just haven't been able to stop the other team in these big moments, and I think that's part of why the change is happening. Yeah. Yeah, I would agree. And it's happened over and over and over again, and it was the right time to do it. I don't think he's a bad coach. I think he's actually a good coach, but it wouldn't have worked out moving forward. Do you know where he actually wouldn't be? So it's interesting because when we were going, whatever, two weeks ago when we were talking about the coaching carousel, since then the Ravens fired John Harbaugh, Mike Tomlin left the Steelers, and now Sean McDermott has been fired by the Bills.
43:25So it went from 7 to 10. And it also went weirdly to a point where we thought it was going to be a coaching carousel where there weren't a lot of great candidates. but now Sean McDermott's in the candidate. You know, John Harbaugh became a candidate. Like, Sean McDermott, maybe like the Cardinals, a place where he can kind of – remember, he went to Buffalo. There wasn't a lot there. Yeah, they were bad. They were bad. And he did make them good. It's just they hit the wall. So maybe going to a team that feels lost, he could put it back together a little bit. Right. I don't know that Sean McDermott going to the Steelers would be great because that's like – Kind of the same.
44:03The same problem to a different extent, but the exact same issue. Right. But yeah, what he did in Buffalo was really good. I don't think that – like Bill's fans probably got frustrated with him by the end, for sure. But they also appreciate what he did for the team. And I think, yeah, I think he's a very good coach. Yeah, so the other coaching news we had was Robert Salah hired in Tennessee. They wanted a strong, defensive-minded guy who's a good culture leader of men, like a Mike Vrabel type. Yep. And that's what they got in Robert Salah. Memes, are you upset? No, I'm upset by the reporting going on right now.
44:41Okay, tell us. No, they're just saying he finally gets a start with a quarterback. Yeah, I actually had Ian Rapoport on my hot seat today because he got community noted by memes. He did. He did, big time. He said, Robert Salah lands with a second chance at a head coaching job, this time with a quarterback. And then memes replied, Sam Darnold was a quarterback when he was hired with the Jets. Community note Ian, at X. And he got community noted. Sam Darnold was a quarterback, currently playing in the conference championship, for those who watch football. And he also had a choice at a quarterback at the second pick.
45:19Okay. Look, I'm happy for Bob. I think he's going to do well there. It sounded like he wowed him. I love reading the reports of what, Memes? Memes just had a tweet that said, you can shit on the Jets. All I ask is accurate reporting. I think Memes' whole thing is that you cannot shit on the Jets. I don't think Memes is allowed to say you can shit on the Jets. It's the big question. If the accurate reporting is shitting on the Jets, that's not allowed. That's not allowed. Then we kind of run into a situation where if you shit on the Jets, that's inaccurate reporting. Right. Accuracy is How do we know if they're accurate Accuracy is Accuracy is a subjective call by memes Yes Okay Facts That's all you ask All facts that pertain to the New York Jets Must be cleared by memes first That's fair That's extremely fair But yeah He essentially It was a domino effect Because all these guys had like Jeff Halfley got hired by the Dolphins which I think that was a good hire because you kind of he's he's a good defensive coach and also I think the Dolphins just hired the like second in command from the Packers front office you got synergy shout out Fernando Mendoza all these guys had other interviews and they all have had to like trickle like Stefanski was supposed to interview with the Titans Bob Sala was supposed to interview with the Cardinals and I think they're just from all accounts Robert Sala showed up to the Titans facility and they're like we can't let him out this guy's so impressive he was so good i love this guy so now we got salah and domico ryans in the same conference yep or the same division that's going to be interesting to see uh halfley so big cat i don't think you were here for this i think you'd love to go to the uh the bears game but i was sitting on the couch in the gambling cave next to steven chay and we're talking jeff halfley because you know just a couple boys talking Just talking Jeff.
47:15And Stephen Shea was like, oh, he has the worst haircut in the NFL. And I was like, I haven't spent that much time looking at Jeff Halfley's haircut. It's a little bit of a flat top, but it's also almost identical to Stephen Shea's own haircut. Yeah. Like far and away, if you were to pick one guy in the office that has a similar haircut. Yeah, if you just made it dark. It's Stephen Shea. And he wouldn't shut the fuck up about how terrible this haircut was. This is a weak character's haircut. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, and I was like, it's like if I said Steve Belichick has the worst haircut in the world.
47:48You can't say that about the guy that's got your own hair. Yeah. No, he hates himself. Yeah. I think it's a good hire by the Dolphins, though. Sure, we'll see. And then we have, where's Mike McDaniel going to go? Do we have any guesses? Tampa. Tampa, so then he can basically be the head coach when Todd Bowles gets fired for going 8-9 and maybe winning the South. Head coach and waiting, yeah. Head coach and waiting. And also then you lose the prospect of Baker not having back-to-back offensive coordinators. I guess the streak would continue, but it would be Mike McDonald on the graphic instead of getting fired or getting hired by the Jaguars.
48:26Right. It would be promoted to head coach. Right. Yeah. And then we had the Lions get their OC. They went with Drew Petsing, who has familiarity with it. I think he worked with Hank Fraley from the Lions. And Campbell was like, yeah, that's my guy. Tough. Can you Google Drew Petsing? Did you see that one picture? I did. Drew Petsing and Kyler Murray. Google that. That one was tough. He seems like he'll be a good coach. Do images, Max. You're going to do images. There it is. Yeah. Kyler is towering over him. It's not a great image. Yeah, that's the bad one right there. As a fellow completely average height king, you can't stand next to another short man if you know that you're shorter than that man.
49:21Here's what I'll say, though, in his defense. I think you'd want, if you had to build your OCDC in a lab, I actually think DC you want a big, tall, hunking guy. And OC, you kind of want a short king maniac. I kind of like the idea of the short king maniac being the O-line coach. That too. Because it's just like a little fucking psychopath that gets the boys riled up. Right. But he can't be a defensive coordinator. Like a short guy feels like defensive coordinator. It's like, I don't know. But as an offensive coordinator, it's like a little madman to him. I don't know what's going on. Yeah. It works.
49:55Maybe if it's a short defensive coordinator, it's like a little Napoleon syndrome, which could be good to build. Yeah. If you had to pick one, I would agree with that. Yeah. Didn't Detroit say we interviewed Mike McDaniel? Didn't feel he was a good culture fit. Yeah. I think that's 100 % Caprice. I think he showed up for the interview in Caprice. Well, there's also been – no, have you seen the picture of him in the airport? Yeah. In the weird suit? Yeah. Dan Campbell got a look at him. He was like, we're going to go in a different direction. Yeah. Yeah. And then I think that's it. That's all the coaching changes as of right now, right?
50:28Yep. Yeah. I think so. Do we – any early thoughts about championship Sunday, Hank? Are you getting a little scared of Jared Stidham? The Broncos, yeah. I'm worried about the Broncos as a whole, as an organization. Mile high. Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback that's ever walked the planet, never won a playoff game in Denver. So that's nothing to scoff at. I'm not looking past Denver. I'm not looking past Jared Stidham. You just laughed. You just laughed. You could not get the words out that I'm not looking past Jared Stidham without laughing. We sat out there and talking about two more weeks.
51:07And you said, yeah, just book me. No, no, no. You just laughed on air trying to say Jared Stidham. You guys are putting words on him. Max said, we're going to go ahead and book you for Monday. And you said, yeah, you should. That was you guys. Max is right. Prove that you can say Jared Stidham can beat the Patriots without smiling. Nope. Can't try it. Jared Stidham can beat the Patriots without smiling. No, he can't do it. He can't do it. He can't do it. So far, your entire outlook on this game is just like, oh, it's hard. The altitude. The Patriots have never won. It's the New England Patriots, the greatest football franchise, and the greatest 20-year run of the greatest team with the greatest quarterback and greatest coach could not win at mile high.
51:47That, again, is like that. No, now finish the sentence you say in private. You say that, and then you say, but it's Jarrett Stidham.
51:59It's Jarrett Stidham. Jarrett Stidham. I'm just kind of upset where it's like I've enjoyed being the scrappy underdog that no one believes in and we are in a spot we're in a spot where it's like we could be the laughing stock of the league you've been favored in both your games and you've been a whole playoff games scrappy underdogs no one's believed in us that's the thing Patriots about to go to the Super Bowl no one knows if they're actually good it's true Yeah, it is. What do you know about going into a conference championship game against a shitty backup quarterback? Not that Jared Sims is shitty, but like, you guys played an NFC championship game against Christian McCaffrey at QB.
52:47Okay. That wasn't going into the game. We also lost that Super Bowl. So are you saying that you're going to lose that Super Bowl? No, I'm just talking. We're talking about it. I'm not looking at the Super Bowl at all. I haven't thought about it. I'm worried about this Sunday. Yeah, that's such a lie. That was also mid-game. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You didn't go into that. No, I did not go into that Super Bowl playing a backup quarterback. We ended up playing no quarterback, but we didn't go into that game. Wasn't Josh Johnson the quarterback? Well, no. He also got hurt. Brock Purdy got hurt in that game.
53:17Then Josh Johnson got hurt. And then Kittle was like, hey, Brock, can you throw left-handed? No? Okay, we're fucked. Yeah. Say it. Say Jared Stidham's name with respect. I have more respect and more knowledge on Jared Stidham than anyone on this podcast. He's a patriot. Patriot for life. And you laughed when you said his name about that you're not scared of Jared Stidham. You laughed. You couldn't get the words out. I am scared about the mile-high stadium. You want to laugh again. You want to laugh again. You want to laugh again. You're afraid of the altitude. He's going to laugh. We got a big game on Sunday.
53:51And that's all I'm focused on. Jared Stidham, you mean eight? Sure. Eight. Yeah. You got some stats? No, I have no stats about Jarrett. That's the problem with Jarrett. There's no stats to draw from. Yeah, he's a complete unknown. He's played four games. I'm in the top of Dylan. I'm so far in the back of your head. We tried to sign him. You think I got stats about everything. We wanted to sign him. I mean, the one thing, this is not a good. Daniel loves Stidham. This is not a good Jarrett Stidham. It doesn't really do anything for actual gameplay, but Sean Payton did get him in free agency and then re-sign him to pretty lucrative backup quarterback deals.
54:30So he sees something. Yeah. I hope that I'm giving Jarrett Stidham all of the bulletin board material. If he wins on Sunday, he is my GOAT. Why do you care? Cuz, fuck the Patriots. Fair question. Fair question. Yeah, I know. Hank's going to win. The Patriots are going to win. They're going to go to the Super Bowl. And, yeah, good luck, Hank. Like, you'll be playing against Stetson Bennett and the Rams, and you're going to win 40 to nothing, and then you're going to go to Disney World, which you've already planned. Yeah, you already planned that. You already booked your Super Bowl trip. You already booked Disney World.
55:07Dynasty back on. And it sucks because I love Vrabel, and I want to root for Vrabel. I mean, the parade's going to be so sick. Duck boats. It's Mike versus Sean Bowl on Sunday. Yeah, we got both games. Mike-Sean squared. Yeah. It's wild. Kind of wild. Hank, would you rather both Mike's win or both Sean's win? Both Mike's. Yeah, okay. That was a good answer to that. Took you a second. The Mike and Mike poll? Yeah. I'd rather play the Rams. Oh, so you want to go double Mike Sean? You want to face Sean two times in a row? Yeah. It's tough to beat two Seans in a row. It's really tough. But I'd rather play the Seans.
55:49You think McVay is going to, much like he was with the Bears and Matt LaFleur, he's going to seek to avenge his brother that you vanquished the week before? Is McVay... Wait, no, you beat a Sean. Like, you beat a Sean. You are one and one against Sean's this year. What do you say, Meems? You would rather play Matthew Stafford than Sam Darnold. Yeah, that's probably stupid. that's got that's going crazy i'm a little crazy guy
56:18you are a crazy guy uh any other cleanup from what what i want to hear from pft what just like what what's been your no you we're not doing the preview yet oh you're not too okay yeah no next on friday show i want to hear this question though what where are we going i just like i i it's you know game week you're waking up and and you're thinking about jared sidham and what like where's your head at where where what like you got you somebody put some respect the things separating number eight we should double check from being fifty thousand dollars poor forty thousand dollars poor is jared siddham yeah i know that's like the first thing that's been crossing your mind in the morning what and then oh yeah he's what are those next thoughts my next thoughts on potentially owing you fifty thousand dollars it would suck he might be four he was four on the patriots is he four.
57:09That's a Broncos four. We got a four and an eight. We don't even know the guy's number. Jesus Christ. I think it's got to be eight. Would it scare you if the Broncos do the throwback uniforms? I feel like they have to do that. They have to throw everything at this game. I don't think you can for the playoffs. Why? I wake up every morning feeling great, Hank. Feeling absolutely wonderful. You got to have something for him on Friday. Listen, I don't, contrary to what he hank believes don't flatter yourself i don't think about you all the time i think about facts and i think about statistics and if those statistics are inconvenient for you i'm sorry for that but that's not going to change the numbers so i'm going to continue to do my job for the listeners continue to do my job for the podcast and do adequate research and be prepared to talk about the game intelligently as opposed to just sitting back there and be like oh but we have we never beat we never won in denver i'm scared of i'm scared of the city you know what hank You should be more like memes.
58:10You should just have the rule. You shit on the Patriots, but you have to be factual. PFT's just being factual. Yeah. And you're getting upset. I'm not upset. I love it. I love it. I want more of it. Memes is a shining beacon of how not to get triggered online. If I get a stat wrong, then that's fair for you to point out. But if I get a stat right, and then the stat ends up becoming even more true after I say it, would it kill you to be like, good call, PFT. You warned me about this. Yeah. True. Okay. All right. So, no, I'm not thinking about you, but I did call Bank of America this morning. I'm trying to figure out the most inconvenient way to possibly give you$50 ,000.
58:44I want him to buy you a U.S. bond because no way would you figure out how to. And you also would be smarter not to cash it. Let it accrue. Hank, what animals are you allergic to?
59:00This is for your own safety, by the way. Yeah, we're trying to look out for you. I don't think I'm allergic to any animals. Okay, perfect. Perfect. Including insects. Including cobras. I don't like snakes. Oh, you don't like snakes, but you're not allergic. I am allergic to snakes, actually. Nope, he's not allergic to snakes. You're not allergic. You just don't like them. Are there any other animals that you really don't like? Because I'll make sure to stay away from those, too. Golden retrievers. Dachshunds. Okay. Okay, so... You don't like golden retrievers? What? No, just something they get around me.
59:36I get all stuffy and start breaking out in hives. Oh, so you are allergic. I never got officially diagnosed, but... Just golden retrievers? Yeah. That's it? Hank, you're the number one dog hater on this podcast now. I don't know what it is. Yeah. What are you going to do with 50 grand? Well, in this scenario, in this hypothetical, the Patriots have won the game and are going to Super Bowl, so I'd probably buy Super Bowl tickets. okay so you'd spend 50 grand on tickets it depends how expensive they are Dave's gonna buy you a ticket yeah you don't need that I don't know that was smart of you to do that that was really smart that was you being like oh I'll get the bill I paid it in 2013 I had zero dollars to my name I was getting paid like 800 bucks a week or a month every two weeks and tickets to Super Bowl were five grand and I had Dave I did like a payment plan with him I was giving him like 200 bucks every two weeks.
1:00:36I think I paid like three grand and then he's like, you don't have to pay me. How much money did Dave have then compared to how much he has? He has a lot more now. Yeah. But I'm not, I'm not, I'll pay. I mean, again, I'll be$50 ,000, which would be the greatest, you know, reinvestment of my life. How embarrassing would it be though? If you did lose to sit him in the Broncos. I mean, they're the number one seed for a reason. Sean Payton's a great coach that they didn't get here because of one player, their defense, you know, Caused five turnovers last week. They're a very good defense formal opponent.
1:01:07The unbelievable crowd. Great sports town. So I wouldn't be embarrassed at all. They're the one. They're the higher ranked seat. You've always said that Denver great sports town. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Always respect Denver. Of course. Okay. Anything else from the weekend? The delayed onset losses hit me this morning. Oh, yeah. It was. Last night where I was watching the national championship game. I was firing up the group chat with some of my friends, and it was just like a lot of if this play had been different, if this play had been different. So it's like finally hit like shit. The Bears aren't playing again.
1:01:44Yeah. I mean, after the game was over, there was enough cool stuff that happened for the Bears in that game to be like not the worst loss I could experience. There's a lot to look forward to. And then it's slowly. And then you think about. It's slowly. And I said it, the Bear weather still being here even more so is just like shit. I spent a whole week rooting for bear weather, and then it stayed. Oh, it's hitting harder next weekend. I'm also fighting off the Bears are going to be the number one team people are going to pick to regress. And I don't see it that way, but I know it's trivial to talk about it after when the playoffs are still going on and we have all offseason to do it, but I've been fighting that fight online.
1:02:29Well, it's the bear weather this weekend's bananas. I mean, White Sox, Dave arguing for positive. Positive regression hurt us. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Hand up. I did not see this. Can you explain to me? It's a positive regression. Try to explain to me in a way that will make me smarter. No. Positive regression. You can't. He just said it's going to be positive regression. Like, okay. All right. Wait, I think I might know what he's talking about. He's talking about progress. And this is not a good sign for me, but I had this thought last year for the commanders that our record is going to be worse, but our team's going to be better.
1:03:03Yeah. Is that what Dave was saying? I don't know. I actually don't know what he's saying. But everyone's, you know, there's people picking it. I think we maybe discussed it on Sunday, but the cap makes no, the cap's so stupid. People being like, well, the Bears are in cap trouble. No, they're not. They're going to fucking restructure a few people. They do have to get better defensively, but I think the offense is going to get better. and they were 8-5 in one-score games. Were there a lot of comebacks? Yeah, but they were 8-5. That's not a statistical anomaly, being 8-5 in one-score games. And guess what?
1:03:36If you can fix the defense a little bit, you don't have to do the comebacks all the time. So I'm thinking that there's going to be just two firm camps of people. One camp saying the Bears Super Bowl because you make some additions on the defensive side and you see the big step that Caleb took in year two. and then there will be those that are bear haters that will be more inclined to be like this is the they're gonna suck that's gonna suck so you're gonna get both sides probably not a lot of people saying that the bears will be a very good team and makes noise in the playoffs again next year put me down for that you're gonna i don't i don't know yeah six out of ten the play that's what six out of ten looks like the playoffs is a crap shoot i think the bears are going to be just fine and i think the future is very very bright for caleb and ben johnson and uh i mean And look, by the way, I went back and I watched some of the CJ Stroud.
1:04:24You guys were underselling how ass he was. I think I said mega ass the most ass that's ever asked. But that's still underselling it. Yeah. It was so ass. It's crazy. What are the Texans going to do? So they have to make a decision, right, about the option? I think they can wait. No, no. Before next season? Yeah, they're going to give him the fifth year. I think they already gave him the fifth year. It's now whether usually going into the fourth year is when you do the extension. Yeah. they can't extend this guy right now. And you take the risk of, oh, could he return to a form of the first year and now the extension is more money?
1:05:00Sure. But you can't extend him, right? Because then you get into a situation. So I'm seeing that I don't think they've actually given him the extension yet. The option, the fifth-year option? Yeah, there's a rumor from one of the rumor Twitter accounts. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they did officially decide to do that. I wonder, Texas, Texans to pick up fifth year option on CJ Stroud. That's on Yahoo. Yeah, but if you click, which I just clicked that article. Oh, and it's a rumor. And it was a rumor. Oh, yeah, yeah. Wow, that's bullshit that they did it that way. I think you have to pick up the option, but you can't extend them.
1:05:39Yeah, you definitely pick up the option. I think that he's played well enough in the past where you can definitely do that. You guys want a quick blind resume? Yep. QB1, last 17 starts, 19 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 83.9 passer rating. QB2, 26 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 87 passer rating. Last 17 starts.
1:06:06I'll take QB2. Yeah. Yeah. Who do you think QB2 is? I think it's Bryce. It is Bryce. Yeah. Redraft. Think about that. Bryce Young has been better than C.J. Stroud in the last 17 starts. How awesome is that for Panthers fans? Caleb, ever since he Lil Bro'd Caleb. Yeah. I know this is – I don't think there's even – I don't think there's a debate who you'd take Caleb or C.J. Stroud. It's not even close to a debate. No. It's crazy to be in this spot, like considering how last year looked and then C.J. Stroud after his first year, he's completely regressed. Oh, yeah, I've seen that meme going around.
1:06:43Caleb Williams, five interceptions in two playoff games. Wow, you're sweet. C.J. Stroud, five interception, two playoff games. Hello, human resources. There is context to all of this. Yeah, a couple of those were fourth down. Three of them were fourth downs. Two of them were bad that hurt the Bears. But the difference, I would say, is one, you have to add C.J. Stroud's fumbles. Yep. And two, Caleb basically went out and won. If the Bears had the Texans' defense, we wouldn't even have this conversation. Texas have a Super Bowl defense, and C.J. Stroud was so assed that Davis Mills, if he played in that second half, I don't know if they win the game.
1:07:22They have a chance. They have a fighting chance. You're saying that's what we're seeing during the game. It's like, no joke. You actually put Davis Mills in this game right now. Yes, you guys are right. Not just because it's funny to have Davis Mills play. He's not a bad quarterback. C.J. Stroud was objectively bad. Yeah, and Caleb Williams, yeah, he threw five interceptions. is he also won that game against the Packers, almost got them to the conference championship game. CJ Shroud, that Steelers game was all the Texans defense. The thing about the internet. They just kept on fucking them up.
1:07:54Is that just anybody can say whatever they want? Well, it's stats versus watching the games. No one would have watched both CJ Shroud games, both Caleb Williams games have been like CJ Shroud's playing the same as Caleb Williams. Eye test. Eye test. Okay. Let's do Hot Seat Coltrane. And then we got two great interviews, Adam Thielen and our good friend Patty the Baddie coming up. Hut Seat Cool Throne is brought to you by Pizza Hut. This segment is sponsored by Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut has been challenging quarterbacks to say pizza before hut during a televised game. But don't wait on your QB to pizza before the hut.
1:08:30Get the Big New Yorker now for just$10. It's the biggest pizza for the biggest games. It's massive with slices so big you have to fold them like true New York slices. Don't forget to pizza before the hut. Grab the big New Yorker of$10 and you're set with for the whole game. Order head at Pizza Hut dot com or in the app. Hank, give me your give me your Pizza Hut call. Pizza Hut. OK, that was that was money. Yeah, that was really good. Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut. OK. Hut seat. My hut seat are the Beckham's. Yeah. A lot of drama in the Beckhams world. David Beckham. Posh Beckham. What's the real name? Spice.
1:09:16Posh Spice. Posh Spice. Spice Beckham. David Spice. David Spice. Victoria Beckham. Victoria Beckham. Their son, Brooklyn Beckham, who apparently is married to a billionaire. She's attractive. She's attractive. She's so pretty, she looks AI. I saw a picture of her. was like that she literally looks like an ai of like when you see on instagram and you're like this girl's so hot oh it's ai uh does it happen to you a lot it's happened a little confusing by the way the um what was it what's the model's name brooklyn decker decker so when i saw brooklyn beckham i started reading his uh this is really stupid i read his instagram someone posted his instagram stories and i read that and i was like oh do the are the beckhams homophobic because like their daughter is married to another chick and then i realized that brooklyn's a guy's name it is carry on yeah yeah uh stupid yeah he released a statement via like six instagram stories just trashing the beckham enterprises a lot a lot of a lot of uh tidbits in it but it was basically like uh this feud is is all my parents they're all focused on image and they're They don't actually care about their kids.
1:10:31They care about their public image and photo shoots, things of that nature. Victoria Beckham is apparently a fashion designer who's supposed to be designing Brooklyn Beckham's wife's wedding dress. Nicola Peltz. Nicola Peltz, billionaire family. Like, they're richer than the Beckhams. Yeah. So you would think that, you know, if it was like a social thing, it's like the Beckhams should be, they're worried about their image and social status. It's like, this is ideal. your son is marrying into a richer family than you that's you know that's good for everyone consolidating power but they got big dogged i guess that might be the problem at the last minute she canceled she's like i'm not doing your wedding dress they had to scramble and then apparently which is the funniest story to me is that she hijacked their first dance oh she like the the first dance song came out and she was basically on the dance floor being like all right what's are we gonna dance like this is my time yeah so i i read the uh the instagram story from brooklyn and uh i'll just say this for any guy who is out there is listening right now and you're like hey what side do i take when maybe discussing this with your significant other you got to take brooklyn's side i attempted to take the beckham side last night it didn't go well i think my exact quote i don't know because i just read it and i just decided my hot take was well well my parents you mean to me no I think I think the exact quote was what are you some kind of idiot was what I got I gotta be honest I don't I don't follow this story at all there's too many too many names the guy wrote like four Instagram stories people are saying he didn't write it too now and I was just my takeaway was when my parents are mean to me and can you explain to me like I'm five I'm married to a model uh parents trashing son in media yeah son fights back via instagram stories got it destroys empire parents are me feel bad for david or podcast re-benefit via talking about current event pfd i'll i'll explain it son wife hot max i'll explain it to you real quick david beckham's son did an entire instagram post saying where my parents are me okay yeah what a baby What else happened besides the first dance?
1:12:46I mean, canceling. Imagine your mom is a famous designer, and you're like, hey, will you design my wife's wedding dress for our big day? And then at the last second, they're like, hey, sorry, canceled. He also claimed that his parents— It'd be like if your mom was a famous fashion designer the two days before, was like, hey, sorry, dress isn't ready. So then they just had to find a new dress? Yeah. They also— Could they afford one? I was trying to do research on this wife. And then hijack the first dance. Yeah, he also claims that, like, David... That's so funny. Wait, who hijacked him? The mom.
1:13:21The mom. The mom was like, okay, I'm going to do a mommy-son dance. Correct. Instead of... Correct. Instead of first hits. And then Brooklyn Beckham also... It's my time to shine. Yeah, I mean, this is a Greek myth. This is Oedipus. Yeah. Claims that the parents, David Beckham and Posh Spice, refuse to see them. Refuses to spend time with the daughter. They went to London and David Beckham was like, I'm not going to hang out with you, son, because I don't like your wife. The wife also allegedly... Maybe David Beckham doesn't like his son. The wife is tight with his ex and was inviting her to events.
1:14:00Oh yeah, they were bringing back a lot of exes. They were trying to break him up. That's tough. And I guess one of the exes turned lesbian. oh okay so there are lesbians in this story yeah i was right okay allegedly so it's double x's now what it sounds to me like victoria spice just wants she's looking to talk to a younger guy and needs somebody to just chat with if you want to come on part of my take we're happy to give you a platform sure yeah yeah it's essentially a story that happens probably a lot in the real world the parents don't like the partner their child has chosen and then the only difference is the Beckhams are ruthless in the media and have trashed the shit out of the family.
1:14:46Basically, like sewer his name. So I don't actually side with the Beckhams. I think I'm actually going to stay neutral on this because I don't care. I kind of do. I think I kind of do side with the Beckhams. Okay, so you're in the wah-wah my parents are meeting me. Yeah, it's like grow up. Grow up. Wait, you didn't have the money to get a new dress? That's what I'm saying. What if David Beckham's like my son's kind of not chill? right yeah what if you don't feel like hanging with what if what if your baby's got bad vibes nobody talks about that yeah exactly i know i i fall firmly into the i i don't care but i will pretend to take the beckham side to make people angry that's where i stand okay you're hot uh cool throne cool throne live yeah they lost brooks but they did sign uh phil mickelson's team the high flyers signed michael lassasso who was the he won the individual ncaa men's championship last year great personality uh huge legs wear short shorts huge but not anymore huge legs huge legs that's how we're objectifying in a good way like like ideal legs but he can't do he can't show those off on the live tour anymore he can't but he wouldn't been able to either way um so good signing so who are the other members of the high flyers don't know phil mickelson Okay.
1:15:59Okay. Only needs this guy. Yeah. High Flyers, they got to come up with a better name. Why doesn't Liv just steal names of teams? Why don't we just have the Liv Yankees? Yeah. That's not a bad idea. It's like, what are you going to do? Sue them? Yeah. Good luck. Like the Liv Fighting Irish. Mm-hmm. The Liv Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Yeah. Get brand recognition. They've had worse ideas before. Hank, do you think that Liv will be around in five years? No. Will you be able to live with that? Yeah, I'll be all right. Okay. Because if you were a real Liv head, you'd say no. I can't live without Liv.
1:16:42I know, but I'm a Brooks head, too. Oh, yeah, we are Brooks heads. Brooks is the first domino. There should be a team named the Moss. Like they grows on a tree? Liv Moss. Liv Moss. Oh, yeah. That'd be hot. It's not, oh, yeah, but the Dos Equis guys back? Yeah. No? Nah. Okay. That guy's for sale. He's trying to. Oh, okay. Oh, all right. Nah. All right, your hot seat. My hot seat is going to be Zach. Oh. Because we got some cold news coming through. The blob is back. Oh, it's so bad. And the blob. I want to give you guys just the numbers, just the facts about what the blob is going to be doing to us.
1:17:23Imagine if the Rams won Zach would be crying. What do you mean? What? I mean, if the Bears, whatever. If the Niners and Bears had won, we would add Bear weather again. So this weekend, these are the numbers for Chicago. Saturday, low of negative 14 degrees, high of 6 degrees. Friday, low of negative 12, high of 9 degrees. I told Zach those numbers, and he got the 1 ,000-yard stare like, Dear God, what have I done with my life? I think Zach is afraid that he won't make it to the weekend. You'll be fine, Zach. How are the weather apps allowed to use the word high before those predictions? You can't say high of zero.
1:18:07No. Zach, can I give you... It doesn't really do anything for us, but have you seen that there's going to be a catastrophic snowstorm that's not hitting us. It's hitting the rest of the country. So everybody else gets this cold. It's like Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, all these... They're saying shit like, be prepared to be snowed in for like six days. Do they have the infrastructure, like the plow trucks? I don't know. But we're not getting hit. But there's a world that just comes here, right? No, I don't think so. You saw it. No, the blob keeps it away. Yeah. Also, Zach, it looks like there might be some sun, which that does help.
1:18:45That's always a beautiful thing. Cold sucks a lot. But when it's sunny and cold, it's a little bit better. I would like for Zach on probably when it's going to be the coldest on Saturday. Yeah. I want Zach to do cold reviews. Cold reviews. Like, get your camera going while you're inside, while you're bundled up, and then go outside and just stay in there and give your review on the cold. Pre and post cold? Yeah. Yeah. Current cold. I can do that for you. Yeah. I think that'd be good. Okay. Your cool throne? My cool throne is Aliens. Aliens might drop this week. The new movie? No. There's Aliens.
1:19:22Might drop this week. Okay. That's what one analyst for the Bank of England is thinking. So they wrote a message to the bank. Did he just lose all his money? This person, it's a she. Women can be bankers too, Hank. Is this just you because you owe him$40 ,000? No, but that would be great. Guys, aliens, who cares about football? So this lady, she was a senior analyst in financial security at the Bank of England. I think she worked there for about 10 years. She wrote a letter to Andrew Bailey, who is the governor of the Bank of England, telling him prepare for the possibility that the White House, the United States, might confirm the existence of aliens as early as this week and just be ready for the outcome of that and what's going to happen to the markets.
1:20:07Okay. So more Epstein files are coming out? Oh, so this is a distraction? Must be. Maybe both. I'm down. You're down for aliens? I think what she's saying is - Give him like three weeks, though. If you owe somebody money, you don't owe them money anymore if there's aliens. That's smart. Because what's the meaning of all this? Right. Like, what is money even, Hank? Maybe Ed Cooley was right. Yeah, we all believe in money because we've agreed to believe that money exists and that it's worth something. But the second you throw aliens into the situation, yeah, forget about debts. So I'm going to follow the Bank of England's guidance on this one way or the other, no matter what happens.
1:20:43But yeah, we might get aliens this week, boys. And it seemed like... If there's real aliens, like not... A report means nothing. Yeah, we're not getting those through a report. You want to see bodies? If they roll one out, we can have a conversation. Oh, I was saying, like, I don't think we're finding out about aliens through a report. We're finding out about aliens when they just show up and fuck us up. Yeah. Do you think that, like, what if it's a body, but it's not alive? Nah. You want a breathing, like, captured alien? Yeah, I want them to, like, bring them out to the press conference. Mm-hmm.
1:21:14Mm-hmm. Hold their head up. Like, yeah, what if it's - No, alive. We killed this alien. Oh, alive. Maybe they can't breathe oxygen. Then we're good. oh yeah well yeah who cares i think it'd be kind of fucked up if aliens came right before the super bowl that would be really i'm saying give it three weeks yeah well maybe not jared sit him that would actually be like if they lose it's like just come to chicago and i think that's actually his nickname the alien jared sit him yeah no one knows if he exists okay my hot seat is uh the booth and my diet because we got way in tomorrow and it's not gonna we've all been just walking around preparing each other for bad we're basically like a doctor being like hey it's not good it's it's just not good sometimes you're gonna have bad weeks but it's it's about getting back on that horse and next week we're gonna come back stronger it's just so funny because we haven't actually weighed in yet but to a man all four of us have independently been like hey boys just want to give you a little heads up as a team i i don't think i'm coming in with anything good we we had I catered lunch today.
1:22:21I've shot three little pigs. I think it's a really good Chinese food. And I had a plate, but it wasn't like the healthiest food. It was sandwiches and fried rice and orange chicken. I had a big plate. I walked back to our booth. It was like a cartoon where I walked past Max and I just hear him go, look at that plate. And I looked up and there was like a cloud of dust and Max memes and Zach were in the kitchen. Oh, no. It was a good looking plate. Someone did point out that we could technically report that we're minus 170 pounds and just say it was Puck. Lost Puck. Yeah, good point. I had a lot of salad on that plate that I brought back.
1:23:01There was other stuff, but I made sure that I put mostly salad on the plate. Did you have that dessert? Nope. Oh, that dessert was good. That dessert thing was really good. Looked really good. Yeah. I did have half a fried chicken sandwich, though. I did, too. We're down like 23 pounds as a team. Yeah, the flu is doing a lot of work for us that you had in week one. You're going to just have to keep firing somebody Week after week after week Like we lost Pug Not a firing by the way Pug's leaving He's back in East Coast But yeah Next week you want to lose You could lose Anywhere between 190 Mm-hmm 200x Amount of pounds Yeah That's you?
1:23:37I'm not in the weight loss challenge No I'm getting swole But who's Who are you? Who's the 190 200x pounds? I was saying 190 I would guess like Yeah that's none of us dude memes is probably around the 200 ish zone we're somewhere yeah yeah that's why it's a challenge and then we are somewhere we are somewhere it's a true challenge yeah life wouldn't be fun if you didn't have challenges and we're doing a challenge you were saying like who's 200x i thought you're talking about me but i'm not i'm not that big no are you losing weight too no yeah you're just getting so i would like to be 190 yeah not that big yeah 190 is not that one one night's not that big yeah let's all let's all weight is subjective weight is in the eye of the behold yeah yeah big time yeah if you're on the moon you'd weigh like 100 pounds that's facts why don't you just switch the scale to kg good point we could do that we could report big time but yeah the the flu is uh Like a weird week one result.
1:24:38You look back. You're like, how'd that happen? How did we lose 15 pounds week one? Oh, yeah, the flu. My cool throne is Hank. Nice. Hank, you're on my cool throne because I just saw this on Twitter. Robert Kraft said that the league is pushing for 18 regular season games, reducing the preseason from three to two games, and every team has to play an international game each season. So you've done it, you fucking piece of shit. Let's go. That is such bullshit. More football. That's all I heard. It's a football podcast for football guys. It's actually not more football because you're losing preseason.
1:25:15He took away a preseason game. Okay. Football that matters. Same amount of football. Meaningful football. That's in the eye of the beholder. More meaningful football. You know what meaningful football is? Football that takes place in the United States. American football. Football that grows the sport. American football. American football. Watch soccer. American football. Listen, I'm all for expansion. Okay. And new fans. Do you want a British team you fuck? Do you want a team in London? You want to make live NFL? No, send the Jags there. So mean. Zach. Send the Jets there. Oh, whoa, memes, get there.
1:25:50New York already has a team. I would accept this. I would accept it. I didn't see that coming. Memes, if they move the Jets. It would just be pain. You'd get pain out of your life. If they move the team in London, you'd cut ties. You'd become an absolute wagon. Say that again? You cut ties with the Jets? Yeah, I would cut ties. And what would you do? I don't know. Maybe find a hobby. Yeah. You wouldn't become like a Giants fan? No. Become like a really sharp better. That'll never happen. Okay. I was trying to help you. I mean, I could try. Yeah. Zach, speaking of sharp betters, Zach has lost the competition.
1:26:27We'll get to that on Friday, but officially he's lost the competition. I did clinch last place. I don't think you won a game in the last month and a half. No, it's tough. It actually really couldn't have been worse because I had like three consecutive weeks where I could flip it and not be in last, and then I didn't do it a single week. I made no progress. I've been 16 and a half for seasons, for months. It's not good. I don't know what to do. I think I'm going to just fade myself the entire next season. Yeah. Okay. I think I might come out on top. There we go. All right. What's your hot seat, Quiltron?
1:26:55My hot seat this week is going to be sports that aren't hockey because did you guys see that all-time goalie on goalie action last night? The goalie fight was awesome. Usually get one goalie that's a little bit more like, shit, I don't want to fight, but I guess I kind of have to. This was a good fight. It was a great fight. They threw good hands. Neither one looked like too much of a pussy. Yeah, it was great. They both wanted it. Go, buddy. I love how hyped up the boys get when goalies get out there and fight. Both teams were like, that was awesome. I'm glad we got to see that. It was so sick.
1:27:25They got so much gear on as well in the beginning of the fight where it's like, I don't know if they could reach each other, but then they just really bring it in close. Yeah. And I also respect both men going helmets off. Yep. Mm-hmm. Yep. Okay. Your cool throw? My cool throw this week is going to be, have you guys seen any ranches circulating online recently? What? Whatsoever. Ranches? Ranches. Ranches? A ranch. Ranch. What do you say? So Jake Paul got a new ranch. Okay. You guys got to see this ranch. It may be, this is how you, I think this is how you spend money. If you're going to be an adult and you're going to buy, you're going to go big.
1:27:56Yeah. 6 ,000 acres. they're saying it's bigger than half the size of manhattan landing strip wait f1 track that's it's bigger than half the size of manhattan so it's smaller than manhattan yeah yes considerably bigger than half of it so pretty big i've never been to manhattan but okay where is here online pretty big uh decatur county georgia this is sick yeah that is pretty cool it's got like a massive like gun range four miles of lakefront i agree this is my my dream is to have like a shitload to land and build a um a baseball field have full court basketball and then just hire people to come every day that i can just beat but they have to try really hard so like i wake up on on a tuesday at 9 a.m i go down to my baseball field there's a pitcher down there who's gonna pitch me and i'm just gonna go fucking yard on him over and over and he's gonna be like fuck i don't have it today What happens when the guys you play ball with, they play so much and they try so hard that they get better?
1:28:56Well, I'm going to pay them to make sure that they never get better. Okay. Yeah. How sick would that be, Max? You're just hitting bombs every day, and the guys are just like, I can't believe I hung that one. Yeah, no, it sounds great. Yeah. This is a pretty cool ranch. This is a cool ranch. He's building a track. He's going to build an F1 track. And they're going to put a neighborhood around it, So you're going to buy a house to be on F1 track to race, but then you can also land your private jet at the landing strip. Oh, that's sick. Okay. Yeah, he's doing property development. And he's doing it for an audience of like 10.
1:29:32Super niche. Wait, what do you mean? It has to be rich enough, has to want to race F1 cars. Oh, for the people. Yeah, we're going to buy and want to have a house on a F1 track. I was going to say, there's going to be people. Oh, yeah. I'm saying the actual people who are going to buy a house, it can't be the biggest, hottest real estate market. It kind of sounds to me like the Pauls are just starting their own country. Yeah. Like they're sneaky having a rebellion. He has a gas station in here. Yeah. He's building Monaco in Georgia. That's pretty cool. He's probably going to have security, I would imagine.
1:30:08He has like a billion different AT. He also has like the Travis Pastrana. He's got that thing. I don't know what to call that Pastrana land dude No but he's got like the ATVs And like a track like Pastrana had In his place he's building that here He's building He's got four miles He can just do all the water sports And he's like it's warm all year round there It's not real life It's like if you He does how billionaires should spend money I agree yeah I agree It's exactly how they should spend money This is so sick Just buy cool ass shit Yeah, I mean, if I had his money, I'd be go-karting every single day.
1:30:49He said it's the largest residential dirt track in America. Yeah, this is... I didn't fact check that, but he said... And it's almost half as big as Manhattan? Bigger than half of Manhattan. Bigger than half of Manhattan. His driveway to get to his house is three miles long. That's too far. What if it snows? I don't like that. But it doesn't snow. What if it snows? It's going to snow this weekend. He was going 130 on his driveway into his house. It's Richie Rich shit. And then he also kept saying he's got the best dirt in the world. I don't know what that means, but he kept saying he has the best dirt in the world.
1:31:22If you say it enough, I'll believe it. Can you get TV out there? Also, I just showed this. That's an actual Jeep from Jurassic Park. Never seen it. I don't think I have either, but that's still sick. No, that's pretty incredible. Max is in love with this piece. You want to go move in with him. I watched this the other night, and it kept getting sicker and sicker. I couldn't believe it. All right, so we got to get Max down there. They don't have restaurants down there. I don't even really eat that much anymore, PFT. Where's the meatball factory? There's probably a height requirement to go on a lot of these cars.
1:31:58Good shot. Enjoy it. I do kind of mean that, though. You do have to eat. Can you get food delivered? Max, we do have to. You don't think Jake Paul has a staff of chefs that just cook him whatever he wants? But sometimes you want Pizza Hut. Jake Paul, if you're listening to this right now, or someone from the Jake Paul camp, just fucking throw in a meatball factory. Just so Max could see it pop up. And it was just like, he'd be the Leo meme. Me? Yeah. This is my meatball factory? This is a good use of money. I'll agree with that. Do you see that Stan Kroenke also just bought another piece of land?
1:32:31He's now the biggest landowner in the United States. Whoa. He has all his property put together is bigger than Delaware. Whoa. Is Delaware big? It's bigger than Manhattan. It's a small state. Yeah, how about halves of Manhattan? How many halves of Manhattan? I would guess that that's probably 50 to 70 halves of Manhattan. Holy shit. How much do you think of it as decent weather year round? Probably most of it. I think most of it is in the southwest. You think it's very flat? I think this is 6 ,000 acres of super flat land. Oh. That's what you want, right? I think so, yeah. But wouldn't you want a little - What if it floods?
1:33:08What if you want to climb a mountain? I think that he said he needed to be flat because he wanted to. He needed the plane access. Got it. And he need flat land for that. Right. He just has his own jet and it's just. He's going to be able to park it in his house. This is sick. But does he have an ice cream machine? Probably not. It looks like he's in way too good of shape. Exactly. So the man doesn't have it all. I'm going to remember this ranch and everything that he bought the next time he has a fight. Yeah. That was the other thing Buying this entire thing Was like a fifth of what he Made off of just that last fight Of course So it's just like It's just a drop in the bucket He's so rich But I think this is how you spill the bucket This is a great spillage of your bucket here At this ranch Okay good hut seat cool throne everyone Let's get to our interviews We got Adam Thielen and then we have Patty the Batty Before we get to Adam Thielen Twisted Tea.

He has retired from the NFL after 13 incredible, incredible career in the NFL, 13 years.
1:35:54Adam, thanks for joining us. Let's start right from that. What has it felt like a week into retirement? Have you let yourself go yet? I feel like if I were to retire after 13 years in the NFL, I would get so fat so fast. I assume you're not doing that, but what has it been like? Is it weird just being like, I'm retired, I'm done, I'm not going to train anymore? Yeah, I think the biggest thing is right now it doesn't feel too much different for me because usually this is the week that I kind of relax, you know, kind of let myself eat whatever I want to eat. and then get back into training. So I think it'll be a little bit different, especially when guys start going back to OTAs and I'm not doing that.
1:36:35It's probably when it'll really set in. But I did play old man pickup basketball this morning, and I haven't done that in a long time because I didn't want to risk injury. So I was excited to kind of get back out there and stay in shape. Wait, so tell us how it went. Like, how was your game? Was it weird being out there for the first time in a long time? because I assume you're an awesome basketball player. It was really weird, but it was so fun. I've been waiting for this to happen for a long time because I love basketball. I used to play when I was a young player. We had a bunch of guys on the team that would play.
1:37:12So in the offseason, we'd play a lot of basketball. But as soon as I signed my first real contract, I was like, yeah, I don't think it's worth the risk of them not paying up my contract if I get hurt playing basketball. And, you know, you hear those stories all the time with guys getting hurt playing old man basketball. So, but all that to say, it felt great. I'm a little rusty and I'm definitely out of basketball shape, but it was a lot of fun. Have you thought about how much golf you're going to play in late July, all throughout August this year, going into September? Have you even like started to comprehend how much golf you're going to be able to play for the first time during the summertime?
1:37:51I can't wait. You could just fast forward me to that right now, and I would be very happy. Unfortunately, it's negative eight degrees outside here in Minnesota right now. But I've been grinding in the simulator. I knew what I was doing. I smartly put a golf simulator in my house a long time ago. So retirement life will treat me well in there. Getting ready. I already have a tournament next week that I'm going to be grinding for and then hopefully make a good appearance in Tahoe this year. We'll see. I was going to say, not to bring up bad memories, but you kind of blew it in Tahoe this past year.
1:38:26I think you were, like, what, tied for – you were in top five going into the final round. You finished 11th. I'm not – listen, you're a really good golfer, but you blew it. Can we maybe get a little focus on finishing strong? That's the last two years for me. I've been – I think two years ago I was in, like, third. I was in first after day one and then end up, like, yeah, ninth or something. So I've blown it on Sunday. Sunday has been brutal for me. Can't make any putts. I lose my game somehow. But again, now that's my job. Before I had to train. You go back to OTAs and I wouldn't play golf for a month and a half probably just because you're busy again.
1:39:06And then on the weekends you got kids stuff. So I didn't play a lot of golf and then I was a little rusty going to Tahoe. But that will not be the case this year. Yeah. You had kind of a wild last season in the NFL, obviously going back to the Vikings and then going over to Pittsburgh to wrap the year up and the way things ended in Pittsburgh. That was a crazy team that you played for. Like the Pittsburgh Steelers were, I don't want to say chaotic, but they were a very fun team with the energy they brought, especially towards the end of the season. What was it like? What was it like getting to play with Aaron Rodgers and those guys?
1:39:39Yeah, I mean, such a blessing. Like you said, it was definitely a wild ride this year. Crazy. I mean, someone just asked me today, like, when are you going on vacation? I'm like, I need to just be at home. It's been a crazy year. Just moved twice, family traveling back and forth for games. But, yeah, Pittsburgh was such a blessing. Coach T to be able to spend a few weeks with a legend like that. And just to kind of see how, you know, you see from afar, obviously I have a lot of respect for him from afar. But when you get in the room and just see how he operates, just his attention to detail, the way that he conducts team meetings and just kind of brings together the team and is that that true leader was such a blessing to see and really cool.
1:40:22And I really picked up a lot of things from a leadership perspective. And then same thing with Aaron. Right. I've known Aaron a long time, played against him forever, saw him from from the other side of the field, but never like really saw his process and how how he does things. And those are the things that people don't see that when you see you're like, that's why he's been so successful. That's why he's one of the best quarterbacks of all time. It's not just because he can throw the ball really well. It's his process. And it was really cool to see that. I mean, he has almost a whole system outside of the system that he's just carried with him throughout his whole career.
1:41:01So that was really cool to see and how he kind of operates that, how he prepares guys and tests guys. I probably had never been so stressed ever in my life in practice because you just never know what he's going to throw at you to try to see what you know and how well you know it so you can be on the same page on Sundays. But it was really cool to see that. Do you think Aaron Rodgers retires? Because it feels like he has something left. I don't know if you're playing with him in those last month and a half with Pittsburgh, would you agree that his arm is still there, his processing is still there, maybe his athleticism has waned a little bit, who doesn't, after 40?
1:41:37do you think that he if he wants to play do you think he can still be a high level quarterback in the NFL yeah I mean I think I think my wife hopes he retires because if he doesn't I might come out of retirement oh I like that breaking news but no he he's uh I mean he can still do it for sure I think I think for him um it's going to come down to I would imagine I don't want to speak for him but it'll come down to just whether he wants to or not right I think he can definitely do it um being around him um just seeing how he again how he operated how he practiced i mean the guy the guy has you know been playing for 20 some years and still every day of practice like treating it it's like it's a game and not missing practices you know he missed a few for you know to heal up his wrist but other than that i mean he's out there begging coach to do a two-minute drill to get extra reps in that um and and just the way he practices was was really cool to see and again And that's why these guys have success.
1:42:33They don't have success because they're crazy talented. They pair the talent with the hard work and preparation, right? Like I remember one of my best friends in high school, his dad always said, like, preparation is the key to success. And then you hear that and you're like, yeah, yeah. And then you, like, get to this level and you see why guys are great. Not good, but great. It's that preparation. And it was fun to see. And with playing with Tomlin, I'm sure you got to see this up close for the first time. and maybe you can explain to us, what is the standard? The standard? I mean, I don't know exactly what that means.
1:43:08He doesn't get it. He doesn't get it. You know, the answer's easy, dude. You weren't there long enough. It's a good thing you retired. No, you don't know the standard. The standard's the standard. It's the standard. Yeah. The standard's the standard. The standard's the standard. What was it? I knew you were going somewhere like that, and I'm like, crap, I should probably know this. Yeah, no, this is actually, it's good that you retired because no one's going to pick you up after not being able to answer that question. That's true. The standard's the standard. It's very clear. What was that last meeting like?
1:43:33We saw the reports. It sounded very emotional. Was it as shocking? Obviously, you hadn't been there as long as some of these guys that were a little more emotional. But was it shocking when Mike Tomlin walked into that meeting and was like, hey, I'm done, guys? It was because he didn't start with that. He didn't preface it in any way. It was just like a normal Mike T meeting. Like, hey, it wasn't good enough. You know, like, I appreciate your effort, like all these things. I don't know exactly what he said, but but it was kind of like his normal, like after game meeting, whether you win or lose, like just talking about, you know, his appreciation for the effort and things like that.
1:44:12And then it was kind of the last thing was like, and by the way, you know, like, you know, I'm going to step down, you know, and it was I think it was most emotional because the way he said it was was like he wasn't good enough. You know, like he didn't do a good enough job and he felt like he's letting guys down. And that's when it gets emotional because you're like, no, no, no, I didn't do enough. Right. Like you did your job. I need to do my job better. And I think that's where it got emotional. Whether you were a coach or a player, you kind of like, man, like if I would have done a better job, like this probably wouldn't be happening.
1:44:45So, you know, tough to see a guy like that again, a legend, the way he carries himself, the way he leads. I think coaches and players all just had so much respect for him until the very last day. It's not like he just cashed in the last few weeks or cashed in knowing that he was maybe going to step down or take a year off. He was all in, and you felt that every day. You had a team meeting every day, and you felt it. Yeah. So do you feel like it was maybe locker room code was broken the fact that we found out so much about this meeting? We had tears. We had some I'm sorries. Like that was kind of weird that we found out unless you were the mole.
1:45:24Maybe I'm asking the wrong guy. Well, I feel like, well, first of all, I don't know what's true and what's not true nowadays. Like on the internet, you just feel like I'm like, I don't know if that's actually been leaked or if people like made that up. Like I really, I really don't. But yeah, I mean, I think that's, that's kind of interesting. I mean, like who's, who's going to a media outlet right away and being like, yeah, everyone was crying and hugging. And so I'm not sure if that was like actually a real report or if that was just kind of like the fake ones that was, you know, semi-accurate, I guess.
1:45:59And again, like there's a lot of different points of view, right? Some guys maybe stayed after. I'm not sure. Like I didn't necessarily see a lot of that. So it is interesting nowadays. You just don't know what to believe. All right. So let's do some accurate reporting. Did you cry? I did not cry. I'm not really a crier. Okay. And again, I wasn't there for very long, but I did give him a hug. I told him how much I appreciated him. I mean, we had some amazing conversations and just some really cool moments over the, what, five, six weeks I was there and really felt like I actually knew him a lot better than I did in the short amount of time we were together.
1:46:40So a lot of respect for him, and I was able to talk to him after. So that was pretty cool. How long was the hug? oh it was quick because there was like 5 000 people behind me trying to get a hug yeah uh and i had kind of an awkward like post hug uh kind of ran into a few guys and then it was like in the middle of two hugs so that was a little awkward but uh but this is good reporting we're going to report it adam dylan did not cry also shared an awkward like post hug with mike tomlin follow up on the hug when you said when you said i'll see you later and you hugged him Did you guys then do the awkward thing where you started walking in the same direction afterwards?
1:47:18And you're like, oh, I guess we're going the same place. Should we? All right. See you later again. Well, thankfully, no, there was a line of people going to get hugs. So I didn't have to do that awkward walk together after you already said goodbye. I'm actually horrible with goodbyes. Yeah. And actually really dislike them. So usually I'm the one that's like the, what is it? The Irish goodbye? Is that what they call it? Yeah. Just like leave without saying goodbye. that's usually me so it was cool that I even got to obviously that shows that how much respect I have for Mike T that I did actually say goodbye and thank him yeah alright follow up on the follow up on the follow up of the hug do you think anyone in the line was like this fucking guy he's been here for six weeks he's taking one of our hugs yeah there might be that's definitely a possibility this guy doesn't even know him why is he hugging him we're just all about accurate reporting here Who was the first in line for the hug?
1:48:15I have no idea. Okay. All right. This is important stuff, Adam. This is really important stuff. We're trying to do journalism over here. We're trying to get it right. You guys are actually helping my marriage right now because my wife says I don't ever have deep conversations. I feel like I'm having a deep conversation right now. Yeah. I appreciate it. We're talking about our emotions. Yeah, it's pretty good. So, I mean, I don't know if we're reading into this a little bit too much, but you did just kind of leave the door open when you're like, If Aaron comes back, maybe I'll think about it too.
1:48:43Have you had regrets since retiring, what, four days ago? Have you had second thoughts about it? No, I'm really content with it. Honestly, just wore out. I feel like I've given everything I've had for so long and just have never wavered from that. I feel like I knew there was only one way to do it and every day just give full effort, attention, detail. And, you know, just doing that for 13 years, I'm pretty exhausted of that. I'm so excited for, like you guys said, some fall golf and summer golf, extended summer golf. But most importantly, to be able to coach my boys, my kids, and just be around for their sporting events and things like that.
1:49:31But, yeah, I think it'll be tough. Like, let's say it's end of October, November, and a team calls and has a need at receiver. That's going to be a tough, tough one. But I also have been so all in for so long that I've taken my offseason training so seriously. Like, I'm not going to do that. So I just don't think that at that point I would feel good about playing and playing at a high level and feeling good about that. So I'll never say never, but I feel really good about where I'm at. All right, that's good. Keep the door open. All right, so I had another question about a player you played with.
1:50:06We're members of Bryce's, so we like Bryce Young. We think that he's been great in the last couple years, really. What is it about him? You played with him a couple years there. It feels like it coincided with him kind of finding his way and getting the playoffs this year. Are you a member of Bryce's? Are you going to join us? Do you think he's got a good future in the NFL? I'm a full-fledged member of that. I'm a huge fan of him. I sent him several text messages, you know, talked to him a few times on the phone this season, just how proud I was of him. And I saw it coming. And honestly, which made it so hard to leave there because that was the whole reason why I was going to be done last year.
1:50:49And the whole reason why I came back, and I think I've said this a few times in the media, But it was like the whole reason I came back was, number one, Bryce, and number two, like the leadership of the organization, just where they were at and where they were heading. And I felt really confident in that. And I never thought I was going to leave, you know, and never had anything in the back of my mind at all that I was going to leave and go somewhere else. So, yeah, that was obviously tough. But so much respect for Bryce, just his way that he's handled adversity through his career. I mean, I was in that room, in that building through some really tough times for him personally and just for the organization and for the team.
1:51:32You know, firing a coach halfway through his rookie year, kind of a mess on offense just with a lot of things going on. You know, coaching kind of craziness, the coaches kind of battling each other within in the offensive room, especially. and then just the next year not having a lot of wins, him getting benched, him coming back and playing great at the end of the year. There's so many things that I'm just so proud of him, especially at quarterback, right? The media kills these guys. They kill them. We all get our fair share, but quarterback's a whole different level, especially when you're not winning as a team.
1:52:09And so he took a lot of wrath, and always good to see good people. You know, good things happen to them, and he's one of those guys. Yeah, in addition to being supporters of Bryce's, we also – I'll speak for myself. I'm a member of 9-TIFA. So there's a difference, I think, between J.J. and 9. And in your experience, limited experience playing with him in Minnesota, could you tell when it was J.J. in the locker room and when it was 9? I could. Yeah, for sure. What's the difference? What it looked like. Yeah, tell us what it looked like. First of all, I love that guy. And I got to see him in the offseason.
1:52:48You know, when I was a Panther, I was in the offseason. He was here in the summer. I needed a quarterback to throw to and had fantastic throwing sessions with him. And it really started to build respect for him and just his talent, his love for the game. But, yeah, I think he's got – and he takes a lot of heat for that, like saying that. But, like, I feel like all of us as athletes have that. Like, when I'm on the field, I'm a different person. I'm not Adam. I'm not my son's dad, how I treat them every day. When I'm on the field, I'm a different person. An attitude comes, like a mindset. And so I understand where he's coming from.
1:53:27He's a different person on game day, which he should be. That's part of the thing. And that's what makes a lot of these guys great. When they step across the line, they're different. And that's what I really, honestly, when I first started throwing with JJ and getting to know him, that's what I loved about him. I saw that. I saw this intensity when he started playing and stepping across the line, this intensity and this competitiveness. And those are like, all right, this guy is going to have success in the league. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So another one, we actually gave out this award. We're big on the awards on this show.
1:54:05We have a fullback award we give to the best college football fullback. And we gave teammate of the year award to Justin Jefferson. do you think that's a fair award that we gave out? And it was basically because, let's just be honest, Minnesota didn't have – it was up and down quarterback play this year. J.J. gets hurt. You got other guys coming in. And he could have freaked out at any moment. And it feels like he didn't freak out. So we gave him teammate of the year. Is that a fair award to be given to Justin Jefferson? 100 % earned. That guy, I mean, there's so many times that I would pull KO to the side and be like, man, this guy is special.
1:54:44Like, he's different. And like you said, like, just the adversity that was happening through the season and just the guy that showed up every day, busted his butt, I mean, worked his butt off every practice, like, where he could have just relaxed. I mean, he's the best receiver in the NFL. Like, he could just – he could coast or say, you know, I need a day of rest, whatever. But, like, he's out there, like, competing every day and never complained. I'm sure there was some frustration. Obviously, we all had some frustration, but it never showed up. As a teammate, you appreciate that so much. Those are the guys that you want to have success.
1:55:22You want to win for those guys. Why is that important for teams? Because everyone in the locker room, they want to win for that guy. They want to put in a little bit of extra effort. They want to do more in the weight room. They want to practice harder for that guy. because they're like, this guy deserves a championship. And so it goes along beyond just being a good teammate. That stuff really makes a difference on a team and is why he's paid so highly, right? Because it's not just can he make plays on the field, but he's just a great guy to be around and a great leader. All right, so we did a good job with that award.
1:55:57So we should give ourselves an award. We should get ourselves an award for nailing it. Yeah. So you had a long career in the NFL. Was it 12 years that you played, 13 years? who is 13 yeah who is the best player that you ever played with best teammate not not best teammate in the sense of good guy but like the best player that you ever saw close up i mean i think justin pretty much hands down i'd say adrian peterson um is is right there obviously but i just think yeah i mean i've never seen a guy just had so much consistency with everything stacked against him. I mean, he had every team. The only person they're trying to take away on our offense is Justin.
1:56:40Yeah. And he still has 1 ,000 yards. Like, it's crazy. Like, that's a different type of consistency. You know, guys have good seasons year after year after year, but, like, teams aren't just, like, focusing on one thing to take him away. Like, that's what teams are doing against him. He's the only person. And they're like, he's not going to beat us. Anyone else can beat us, and we're fine with that. But, like, Justin cannot beat us, and he still goes out there and makes contested catches, makes the tough catches, runs after the catch, moves everywhere, has to be really smart because a lot of different plays, a lot of different moving, you know, with motions and shifts and different alignments.
1:57:19And so he's got to be a really smart football player, which is not easy. Can I throw out another name who's having an incredible career and probably underrated? Daniil Hunter. He seems like a guy who's got life figured out and just kind of like happy guy, but also just a warrior on the field. The great thing about Daniil is, is not a lot of people talk about him because he doesn't talk, right? He's just so quiet and like, he's not going to pump himself up. Uh, you just don't really hear about his name, but like we obviously played against him and he destroyed us. And then the next week he, you know, he had a pretty dang good game and was a game wrecker.
1:57:58But, yeah, he's unbelievable. I mean, practicing against him and hearing it. You know, I always enjoyed, like, going to an O-lineman and be like, hey, like, is Danilo really that good? Like, not just him, but, like, other guys, right? Because you don't – when you're not – it's not a cornerback, right? Like, I know if a cornerback is good or not good. Like, I'm playing against him. But, like, a defensive end, like, I'm not going against him. I'm not having to block him. Like, I don't really know. And so when you talk to guys and you're like, hey, like, Like, is he actually this good? Or, like, what's the deal with Daniel?
1:58:26And they're like, dude, he's unblockable. Yeah. Like, everyone is like – they're like, yeah, he's like, we don't know what to do. Like, it's not even fun in practice because, like, the guy's insane. Like, he's strong. He's quick. He's fast. Like, does he have a weakness? No, not really. He's long. And so, yeah, he's a heck of a football player. And he was a great teammate. You know, again, didn't say a whole lot, but just showed up, worked hard. And again, those are the guys you always root for to have success. What about C.J. Hamm? I would have said C.J. Hamm, best player that I played with. Yeah, elite fullback.
1:58:59I love that they gave him a touchdown run, his very last game for the Vikings. A guy that seems like he meant a lot to that organization. Oh, the best of the best. I mean, you can't find a better human, a better actual teammate. I mean, he's a guy that even though he's younger than me, I kind of looked up to and I went to with a lot of things, just how strong he is in his faith, just the type of human he is, how he treats people. Really cool thing about Hammer is we played against each other in high school, college, and then played together in the NFL. So that was that was pretty cool. And again, just so much respect for him, how he approached them.
1:59:36We've trained together our entire careers and spent a lot of time together. So I was so happy for him to kind of get those that last game at home, get the touchdown. down. I mean, like you couldn't ask for a better storybook ending for him and excited about what he what he does post career. Yeah, he's the man. We'll get back to Adam Thielen in a second. When you went back to Minnesota, you got a glimpse into the defensive mindset of one Brian Flores. And I'm curious to know, going up against him in practice, Is he addicted to blitzing? Like physically, does he have to blitz? I would say like, is there a word that's like stronger than addicted? it's like it's a compulsion for him yeah yeah he he he does not know a world without blitzing yeah and and uh i thought it was interesting i think they played was a christmas day um and i'm watching the game and uh like like detroit didn't have an answer for cover zero i'm like i'm like guys like for me i'm like like that's what they do like that's that's like how they live and die Like, like, and so that was interesting.
2:01:52But yeah, I mean, he's, it was cool to be able to set, cause my locker was two lockers down from Harrison Smith. And, and I would talk to him all the time about it. Like, you know, what's, what's the deal? What's the game plan this week? How are you guys? And just hearing him talk about, about flow and just how he sees things and their, their connection, right? Like he gave, he gave Harry a lot of control to kind of be able to get out of stuff if he called a blitz and like they knew that they were prepared for it or they had an answer for it like harry had a lot of control to kind of get out of that and and do some different things and so just to uh just to hear some of those things it was it was cool to kind of get the inside scoop of what makes flow tick and kind of how he operates um and yeah i mean he just causes havoc it's it's cool to see yeah i got a question about this year's playoffs because we We obviously have the NFC Championship game coming up where it's going to be a big story that Jarrett Stidham's going to play.
2:02:47Bo Nix got injured out for the season. From a locker room perspective, practice perspective, how you install the game, what is this going to be like for the Broncos this week? And is it a situation where you can have a backup come in and perform good enough to win a high-leverage game to get to the Super Bowl? The way I look at it is Sean Payton is where I look. I don't really necessarily look at Stidham. I think I look at who's calling the plays. And the reason why I say that is because if it was like an offensive coordinator calling the plays, you know, a good offensive coordinator, run, pass, play action, things like that, but Sean has been doing this a long time, and he knows how to create separation for guys.
2:03:32He's going to scheme guys open. And so I think – I really think that it doesn't change much for them. Obviously, Bo, like playmaker, yes. Is it going to change? Yes. But I think the guys are still going to get open. He's a capable quarterback. He's been around a while. He's been in that system. And I think Sean is kind of the tipping point where I think they'll be just fine. Obviously, New England's defense is playing really well, flying around. I mean, that was an unbelievable defensive performance on both sides there against Houston. And so I think it'll be tough for them, but I just think it won't look as different as you would think with a backup quarterback that hasn't played all year.
2:04:17Yeah. Is there anything that the receivers are going to do differently to help out a guy that has less experience? Good question. That will be the challenge, and that's what people don't understand, is it takes a long time to get on the same page with a quarterback. It's not just you can't just like, yes, like you run the route on the that's called. Yeah, for sure. But like there's just a little bit of every quarterback is a little different how they how they want you to run certain things. Is there certain checks that they're going to call the line of scrimmage in the run game? You know, a lot of times the run game, you know, the run alerts, the run pass option stuff is kind of on the quarterback.
2:04:52And every quarterback kind of has their things that they like or or sometimes, you know, it's the same place called. But this quarterback, he's probably going to throw to, you know, this route more often than this one in this same concept. And so you kind of just try to get it. It takes time to get on the same page. So I think for those receivers, I think this week is going to be like, all right, we got to like go like we can't just do walkthroughs and things like that. Like as much as we want to feel fresh on game day, like it's probably more important to get on the same page of how he's going to throw these balls.
2:05:23Like, what can I be ready for in certain concepts? And, you know, some quarterbacks are more aggressive, right? Like, you're on the backside, and a lot of times you're probably 99 % not getting the ball. Well, he might come back there a little faster and get the ball out and give you the opportunity. So just kind of feeling that through practice, getting full-speed reps. I think they might not be as fresh on Sunday, but I think it'll be worth it to get those full-speed reps. Yeah, my buddy Aaron Foster had an idea last week, and when he said it, I thought it was the stupidest idea. ever but you might appreciate as a receiver i i know people like it was a polarizing take but he said that receivers should get all the all the credit for the yards after the catch that quarterbacks that shouldn't be a passing yard after the ball is caught because you did all the work after the fact so you would get more stats than the quarterback what do you think about that well i would i would take it one step further i think the oc should get some credit for that too because a lot of times it's like scheme, right?
2:06:22Like can you call the right plays against the right coverage, right? Like if it's zone coverage and there's a lot of – you know, there's plays that are a lot better versus zone than they are versus man. And there's plays versus man that are a lot better than versus zone. And so I think a lot of times it comes down to the O.C.'s play calling that really gives you opportunity for a run after the catch. And then obviously, like, there's just guys that have a knack for breaking tackles, catch and run. I mean, look at Jamar Chase. Like, that's not the O.C.'s play calling. Like, he's making that himself.
2:06:59I mean, he's catching the ball in traffic, breaking a tackle, spinning off a guy, and running for 50. Like, that's not the O.C. or the quarterback, right? That's him. So there is a little bit of, you know, give and take there. But for the most part, I think, you know, the quarterback giving you a catchable ball, being able to come downhill, and then OC, like, you know, kind of really knowing, playing that chess game of when are they going to play man so we can have those pick routes give you some space to be able to catch a run, I think is huge too. Yeah. Adam, I had one last question. This has been so awesome.

He's probably not going to retire, but he said he wants to play basketball too. So we can just get all the boys in here and just have you guys kick our ass for anything we've ever negatively said about anyone.
2:08:11That would be fun. All right, my last question, because we did some good journalism earlier. I want to actually do one last piece of journalism. I don't know if we've asked you this, so if it's a repeat, I apologize to the AWLs. I don't think it is. Can I take you back to Teddy Bridgewater tearing his knee in practice? Did you cry then or possibly puke? Oh, man. I didn't do either. but um i think i was in probably the most shock i've ever been in um other than other than when we missed the 27 yard field goal um against the seahawks that was pretty shocking as well yeah um but uh but no honestly that was just a crazy moment again you we've talked a lot about just so much respect for guys and guys you just want to like cheer for and guys to have success i mean And like Teddy is like one of those guys and one of the best of the best as far as a teammate, a person, just how he treats guys.
2:09:12And then just like where he was at in his career, like he was he was playing so well. And we hadn't started the season yet. I get that. But still, like like there was so much promise for that team. Our defense was like lights out. Coach Zim, you know, had those those those guys just locked in. And there was so much promise that year that when that happened, it was like the life just got sucked out of the whole team. And you could feel it the moment it happened. There was just no words. No one was saying anything. No one could move. Everyone was just like standing there watching and like couldn't move.
2:09:48Even when he left the field, like no one knew what to do. And it was really the only moment I've ever been a part of that was like that. again no matter who it was like that's horrible but when it's a guy that you have so much respect for and so much excitement for when that happens you just you just don't even know what to do or say um and so glad that I mean that dude's that dude's the best I mean he's still playing you know coaching high school football come back and playing um and and I know those guys loved him in Tampa because uh what a fun guy to have in the locker room but yeah crazy moment I mean I was literally like 10 feet from him I was in the back I was out that play we were just doing like a jog through and it happened like right in front of me and it was interesting because Teddy's kind of like he's kind of like Gumby you know he's just kind of like loose and kind of like he just kind of falls weird and so when he did it wasn't like surprising that he just like stumbled and fell and and so it didn't it wasn't like shocking that this the way it happened or like so it was kind of like normal and so for that to happen on such a weird you know slow motion it wasn't fast paced full speed guys flying around no it was like slow motion uh walk through tempo and he just stumbled weird and fell weird so that was just um really shocking obviously yeah yeah seems like an all-time guy uh teddy just everyone that's ever played with him has nothing but the best things to say I've got one more Big J, capital J, journalism question for you.
2:11:20Your reaction to a tweet, actually, that was posted this year that you ended up becoming the final prophecy for. It was, Mike Tomlin will say something like, we can't eat soup with forks. We need spoons. Then the Steelers will sign a 2018 Pro Bowler to the practice squad. You were a Pro Bowler in 2018. This tweet was put up on November 30th, 2025. you became a Steeler December 2nd 2025 and you played really well for the Steelers I don't mean for this to be a knock against you because you still you showed that obviously you could still play in the league my first question was have you have you seen that tweet and then how long after you signed with the Steelers was it brought to your attention that you were actually the person that made this come true I had never heard of that so that was fantastic but uh maybe because I didn't sign to the practice squad I was just like claimed off waivers yeah but it would have been a lot uh it would have been that would have been really cool if I would have you know got released not cleared waivers and then signed the practice well that would have been perfect uh but that's that's crazy well and then the there that reminds me there was the other one of Aaron Rodgers in the summer talking about uh the last would someone ask him a question like games on the line last game of the season against the Ravens to go to the playoffs and he said something that was pretty much spot on what happened.
2:12:44So that's crazy. Yeah. But yeah, you were the Mike Tomlin prophecy. Did he ever say, we can't eat soup with forks, we need spoons? I never heard that one. I never got these good quotes. I feel like he was pretty locked in at that point in the season where there was no BS. Yeah. I love it. I mean, that's probably why you didn't get any of the quotes. You didn't know the standard was the standard, and that's also why you got an awkward hug from him. That's true. Adam, you're the best, man. Appreciate it. Congrats again on retirement, and hopefully we see you in Tahoe. Let's not blow it on day three.
2:13:21Maybe we'll come and follow you, and we can keep you focused, and anyone who bothers you from the crowd will be like, hey, leave him alone. He's in the zone. Yes, make sure on Saturday after the round you come up to me and be like, hey, remember, don't blow this. We talked about this. Let's go walk in. Like, I need that. I need that. Like, I just need that encouragement, you know? Okay. I love it. All right. Well, thanks so much, man. And congrats again. Appreciate it, guys. All right. Talk soon. See ya. See ya. Before we get back to an interview with Patty Pimlet, Patty the Batty, he's brought to you by Campbell's.
2:13:58It's soupy season. Hank's thinking soupy. Hank's thinking really, really soupy with his New England Patriots. Maybe some Campbell's. Maybe some New England clam chowder for your soup, Hank. and you know what I'm craving though? I'm just craving soup. I'm not craving soupy. I'm not feeling soupy. I just know it's soup season. Blob season is soup season. Blob season is soup season. I choose to respect soup. I choose to enjoy soup all throughout the winter time. It warms you from the inside out. It fills in the cracks. No soup satisfies all your cravings like Chunky. Chunky is bold, meaty, and has craveable flavors that you need to tackle your hunger.

2:15:13Paddy, great to see you. How are you doing? How are you feeling? We miss you so much, but how are you feeling? Yeah, it's great to see the boys again. It's been too long, but I'm boss, lad. I'm brilliant at the minute. I cannot wait for this. This is going to be spectacular. Yeah. How's the body doing? Feeling boss. feeling unbelievable. Best I've felt training, lowest my weight's been. For once, I've got no injuries, lad, so we're ready to kill. Yes, I love it. What are you down to now? What's the weight at today? 169 today, lad. Okay. I'm lighter than I was before I started calling Wafer Chandler.
2:15:56So what do the next, like, three days look for you in terms of weight fluctuation? Like, how low are we going to to get down and then how far back are we going to climb? Well, obviously I'm going to get to 155. I'm going to weigh in at 155 and then I'll get back in the cage about 180, 185. Okay. That's awesome. And then when you win, we're going to have fun and get to eat whatever we want? Yeah, and then we win and then we get up to 200 pounds. I love it. Wait, so how was camp overall for you this time through? Was it a good camp? I mean, how long does camp last before a fight? This one's been about eight weeks which is nice.
2:16:33When I thought Chandler, I only found out six weeks out. So I only had a six-week camp. This time I've had eight weeks. So the prep's been brilliant. This is the best camp I've had. I know it sounds very cliche. Everyone says it, but this is the best fight camp I've ever had. Everything's went smoothly, even training over Christmas and New Year. It's not nice sitting around, watching everyone eat cheesecake and a cheeseburger while you can't eat none. What's the best time of the year to fight? Anything that's not January, February. Yeah, that makes sense. Wait, so I saw that you said that you'd be open to boxing.
2:17:11Is that a real thing maybe after this? Would you be a good boxer? Do you think you could? I mean, I know that you're incredible with your hands, but is that something you actually have considered potentially doing? I mean, Paddy the Batty beating up Jake Paul would be awesome. Yeah, it's just something I got asked about, you know what I mean? And obviously I said I'm a prize fighter. If the money's right, then yeah. But I'm not a boxer. I'm an MMA fighter, and I'm focused on winning the UFC world title and defending it and trying to become a two-way champ in the future. But if someone wants to offer me an obscene amount of money to beat up an influencer, then I'm there.
2:17:46Yeah, that sounds like a great plan. In this fight in particular, there's a little storyline that's been going on for the last few years. Ever since you started working at Barstool, I remember Dave got into it with Gaethje online, right? And didn't Gaethje say he wanted to kick Dave's ass for hyping you up for saying that you were a great fighter? Oh, well, that just drives me on even more. I want to punch his head in, doesn't it? Yeah. You're fighting for all of us. Yeah, for Dave's pride, for his legacy, really. Yeah. I like that. Well, yeah, this can be for Dave. Yeah. Patty, I saw a report the other day that, it might have been a little bit longer than that, that you are, according to Michael Bisping, the most hated man in the UFC.
2:18:26Do you think you're the most hated man? I feel like that's something you would like to – you'd actually embrace it because you're not only a fighter but you're a showman. And if people are hating you, they're selling tickets. It's buying pay-per-views. Is that – do you feel the hate? I think I'm loved and hated. I think that must have been a couple of years ago what Bisbon said that. Okay. It must have been after I thought Jared Gordon had that close fight. But I always say it, lad, I'm loved and hated. whether you hate me you're tuning in to watch me hopefully get knocked out which will never happen or if you love me you're tuning in to watch me win so all that matters is eyes yeah people care about you one way or the other i i did see something that was from this week uh it was from armin sarukin i don't know if i pronounced his name right but he started talking some shit about you and i i need to know if it's on site for us if we see this armin guy he said it's chubby patty fight week but i'm doing the press run wake up fat ass and get to work it's not a good look for the ufc what the fuck is this guy's deal he's just an absolute helmet you know what i mean he's the worst tool ever um talk shit like and then doesn't back it up because he pulls out a fight the night before the weigh-in yeah um 10 fights down like so he's not a real fighter what it is lad is family a millionaire so he's added everything handed to him on a silver plateau with caviar and he thinks that he deserves that treatment when it comes to being in the ufc when you've got to work for everything that you get in the ufc yeah it doesn't work yeah no you need you need to uh it's the old it's hard to do road work in in silk pajamas you know marvin haggler said that do you feel that like as you've gotten bigger have you has your drive like you've gotten more money are you able to still have that same drive as like an underdog from Liverpool?
2:20:18No, to be honest, the opposite's happened with me because I've had twins, you know what I mean? And everything I do now is I work even harder for them to provide to them. So I just, I don't think I've ever worked this hard or been this disciplined and it's going to continue until I retire because I'm fighting to put food and their marts and clothes on the back. Yeah. Howie, congrats on the twins, by the way. Boys or girls? Girls. Okay. Are you going to let them fight someday? If they want to life, but I'd rather them not. Yeah. I think that's fair. You're taking all the punches for them. Wait, I want to go back to something.
2:20:57Can you explain to me what a helmet is? I love that as a diss. A helmet is your bullet. Okay, now I need an explanation of that. Well, the tip of your penis. Oh, okay. Got it. Got it. He's a helmet. Got it. I thought it was something. Okay, I feel stupid now. That makes sense. And when you say absolute before, it sounds way better. This guy's a fucking absolute helmet. I was thinking more like a kid who had to wear a helmet, like his head was misshapen or something, like one of those situations. Yeah. Wouldn't be able to say that nowadays. No, you wouldn't. You can instead call him the tip of a penis.
2:21:36I like that. Yeah, misshaped bellend. Yeah. Yeah. How are you feeling about Liverpool? How about these Reds? Well, we're playing shotgun at the minute, lad. Can't even beat the newly promoted sides at all. It's a sad state of affairs, but we'll get through it, lad. We've had worse times than this. Yeah, I think we talked to you when you were in the studio about how you feel about England in general. Are you going to be attending any World Cup games? Are you going to be rooting for England? I don't know, to be honest. It depends when I end up fighting earlier after I beat Justin. I do plan on going to a little World Cup game or two when it's in Miami and stuff like that.
2:22:17So we'll just have to see what happens. Yeah. And when is that fight going to happen? Because I heard that he wants to have it in like April. Yeah, that's not happening. June, July. I've waited for him. He can wait for me. I like that. We'll get back to Paddy the Batty in a second. He's brought to you by Microsoft Co-Pilot. The world moves fast. Your workday, even faster. 2:22:57Learn more at Microsoft.com slash M365 Copilot. That's Microsoft.com slash M365 Copilot. And now here's more Patty the Batty. Do you have a prediction for Saturday night? Are you giving out a public prediction of what you're going to do to Gaethje? Yeah, we're not going to see championship rounds. He's getting finished in the first three. Okay. Ideally, how would you like to finish him? If you could draw it up. I'd love to knock him out. You know what I mean? With a cartwheel kick or something. You know what I mean? Something spectacular. I'm going to finish him, lad, and that's all that matters.
2:23:35He gets finished in three. Yeah. Can you give me some more English disses that you have? Like when someone's being like an asshole, what do you say they're being? Call someone a beaut. A beaut? Okay. Yeah. Okay. What else? What about like a, do you say, do you drop cunt friendly or a cunt derogatory? Yeah, no, cunt can be both. You can be like, ah, I love that cunt. Or it can be, ah, you stupid little cunt. You know what I mean? that's cunking me in both ways. Yeah. What about like a scumbag, like a shitty person?
2:24:14A dog or a rat. Oh, I like that. I like a dog. Yeah, but dog. We can take dog to be a good thing sometimes in America. Bitch. Yeah. Yeah, what about like a bitch? What about like a... In the UK, dog is a bad thing. You know what I mean? Like, he's a dog. It means like he'd rot. But a bitch I'll just call him a bitch What about like a weak person Like a pussy Someone who doesn't back up anything I call people a bitch ass Oh I like that No bitch assness I call people a mushroom And a sausage I love a sausage Oh wait Give me a context of how you call someone a sausage Just someone Just take a fucking little sausage Yeah, that's good That's a really good one Fuck yes I'm curious because we always talk about The sleep patterns that you have to get into Before you play in a football game And some coaches think you gotta sleep good the night before Some coaches think like two nights before Try to get a good night's sleep Do you have like a sleep regimen that you try to get locked into?
2:25:23No, I just try and have a good night's sleep every night You know what I mean? I don't do no regimen So I have nothing planned I just sign off at least seven hours every night. Yeah. I was actually talking to Spider earlier today, and he was reminiscing about the time that you guys hung out before one of your fights, and he said that you put down an absolutely legendary amount of ice cream the night before a fight, that you went to an ice cream shop. Yeah, in Miami. Yeah, in Miami. Yeah. Is that normal for you? Can you walk us through what your ice cream orders the night before a fight? The night before a fight, like the day before, after you've weighed in, that night you can eat a lot, you know what I mean, you can do what you want and you want as many carbs in you as possible and obviously milkshakes and ice cream full of carbs so it's slow to sugar what your body needs after doing a weight cut so Friday night I'll be doing the same thing I love it, what's your order?
2:26:17I love a milkshake like a peanut butter and chocolate milkshake, something like that and there's actually an ice cream gaff in our hotel isn't there what's looking delightful so i'll be in there ordering all sorts yeah i love that i don't know if you know you definitely don't know this but i bought a uh soft serve ice cream machine that's in the office so we have ice cream every single day at the ready it's like an industrial ice cream machine i want to see you come here and put some work on it yeah that sounds real good love at the end to that mate yeah all right so i have uh uh one last question about about the fight and everything that's coming up so again on saturday night patty is going to be there he's going to end justin gaethje in the first three rounds it's uh ufc 324 it's the roback question rhoback.com promo code take 20 off your first purchase q-zips polos hoodies jaggers shorts It's Roback.com, promo code TAKE.
2:27:17So my last question about the fight is, on, like, the two days, I know you've got to put the weight back on. So weigh-in's Friday, then you've got to put the weight back on. Are you doing anything physical this week, or are you just, like, kind of mentally just getting ready? Because you don't want to get hurt, right? Oh, yeah, and I'm still training, no. You know what I mean? I'll be going to the PI at 4 o 'clock and doing an hour session. I've been on the treadmill this morning. so i'll be doing that up until i'll be training again set mills saying later set mill training tomorrow probably set mill thursday morning and then all about the weight cuts do a little do a little pad session on thursday before i start doing my weight cuts i love it and and what's the plan for for the day of the fight like i always see people backstage i don't do not on the day of the fight i'll just chill let me body recover and then it's all about the fight I don't want to expend any energy doing anything else apart from the fight.
2:28:14Yeah, when I see people in the locker room and they're just sitting there, it feels like they're just wishing that time passes faster so they could hurry up and get in the octagon. What do you do looking for that? I'm normally sitting there eating some sweets or something, watching the other fights, and then just a nice warm-up. Get your whole body limber and get yourself nice and warm so you're ready to go. We're going to be rooting for you, Pat. Yeah, big time, Root Free. Do you get a little extra juice when the crowd starts doing the, oh, Patty the baddie? Because every time your name comes up, it's just ringing in my head.
2:28:49Do you get a little extra juice from that? Yeah, it gets you going a little bit more. You know what I mean? It makes you feel it and want to perform even better for the crowd. Yeah, I love that. I'm going to be ready. We need the crowd to do that for you. You're going to knock him the fuck out. Yeah, you are. It's going to be great. Yeah, you are. Don't you worry, buddy? He's getting dealt with. He's getting his head smashed in He's not going to be playing golf for a few weeks Believe me I fucking love it I love it Alright well Patty we're rooting for you man It was great to catch up with you I'll see you in Chicago this year Definitely Chicago and see you as well Come to a Cubs game We'll do the ice cream We'll just have a good time We'd love to host you We got a big warehouse We got everything here Maybe choke somebody out while you're here Yeah we'll spin the wheel And you can choke someone out Sounds good.
2:29:38You just let me know that I'm there. All right, Patty, you're the best, man. Best of luck on Saturday night. We're rooting for you. Of course you, fellas. 2:30:58Nutrafol.com, promo code PMT. Okay, let's wrap up our show. We got Pardon Your Takes. Pardon Your Takes. By the way, did you know that Major League Baseball, I believe, is announcing Hall of Famers tonight? Great job, baseball. Great job, baseball. Perfect. I just went to ESPN to check college basketball score, and I was like, who's getting into the Hall of Famers? Is anybody getting in this year? I was like, what? I see... Barry Bonds. Right now, on the main page, I think it's Andrew Jones. Yeah, Andrew Jones. Andrew Jones. And Carlos Beltran. Okay. Carlos Beltran. Andrew Jones should be a Hall of Famer.
2:31:35Yeah. It's been too long. Okay. Partner takes. Hank? I'm ready to say it. The goalposts are magnetized. Since the NFL put chips in the ball, doinks are way up. I have zero data, but the timing is suspicious and the sound is too perfect. Explain that. The doinks have gotten louder. I like this take. They've been miking up the doink poles. And so when you hear them, they get louder. They're more like bonks now. But yeah, there's nothing like a good doink that just gets people out of their seat a little bit. But I do agree that we've had more than we have in the past. Yeah. I think he's right on about this.
2:32:17And I think when it changed was that Super Bowl, the Chiefs, Eagles, the no doinks bet. Which you have to do again this year. That was a typical, I got to ride no doinks. No doinks is hot. It's been a hot bet recently. What, Max? Last year. Last year. Super Bowl. One for one in the last one Super Bowl. Oh, just Super Bowl. Yeah. I was going to say there was a doink last night. Yeah. Yeah, no, I'm saying in the Super Bowl, that's my bet. Got it, got it, got it, got it, got it. No doinks. Can I just share something with you guys that I hate to admit because it means I might be getting old? I switched to 4K last night on YouTube TV when I was watching, and I watched maybe like 10 minutes, an hour behind.
2:32:59YouTube TV does that, though. I was watching and I saw everyone being like, oh, we got a ball game. Oh, we got a ball game. And it was the Miami run. And I was like, I was in the second quarter. Oh, man. I actually did that. Like, what the fuck? I was thankfully in the first. I don't know why I did this, but I switched over to the McAfee broadcast and they were a completely different drive ahead of me. Yeah. I was like, oh. Oh, yeah. That was what it was. I was watching the doink in the first half, and everyone was like, game on. And I was like, why is it game on? It was a fucking doink. And then I realized I was so far behind.
2:33:40I've done that a couple times. Usually it's not football. But there is a difference. Like when we watch stuff at home. Yeah. Like when you're watching at work, Big Cat is like the best sports watcher in these walls when he's on the clock. And he will see a goal. Like if we got hockey. Yeah. Like a hockey over on the upper right-hand TV, he'll tell you, oh, there's a goal before the puck even goes in. Yeah. But when you're off the clock and you're watching sports for leisure, it's almost like you take your eye off the ball a little bit. Right. You would never do something like that in the cave.
2:34:08Well, and my only defense is I was switching. I was laying in my kid's bed when they were going to bed, and I was watching on an iPad, and then I switched the TV. Yeah. So in between the switch, something fucking went wrong for me, and I'm an idiot. I've got a theory about old games that you can watch online now. I think somebody's going back and making the feeds worse. Just for nostalgia? If you try to watch a game that's from the year 2009 online, it looks like it was shot in a basement camcorder situation, bootlegged off of a giant projector TV that's out of focus and doesn't have enough light.
2:34:49It is, I swear to God, when we watched football in 2009, it looked good on TV. Yeah. It didn't look like that. I agree. I agree. I like that take. I feel like it's the TV companies that are trying to make us think that we have to get new TV. Yeah, they're fucking with us. Next generation is way better. Yep. I agree. If you had a chance to know if your team would ever win it all the rest of your life, would you want to know the answer? I don't think so. No. Because the answer could be no. That would be heartbreaking. It's most likely no. That would be like, what's the point? I'd be down. Okay. Yeah, because you would be like, okay.
2:35:25Jared Stidham. I guess I'm just a golfer now. What if I could tell you right now that I have the answer of whether Jared Stidham was him? As a person? I'm sure he is. But would you, if I was like, hey, I have the future, Jared Stidham wins this game, would you take that information? You would, and you would probably then watch and be like, no way. Yeah. I mean, I just got a report. Jared Stidham's him. Jared Stidham's great. I saw a report from his time at Auburn, and he was saying, it's kind of cool being the quarterback at Auburn. Everyone knows you, and you're the man. Sounds like him. Yeah, big time.
2:36:06I'll be honest with you. I have Googled Jared Stidham fun facts probably five times in the last two days. That doesn't mean he's thinking about you. He's doing his job, dude. I'm prepping for Friday's show. Our job is to talk about football. It's not all about you, Hank. It's not about me. I just asked. I said I know that you're thinking about him first thing in the morning. What does that next look like? You acted like you don't, but it sounds like you wake up, roll over, and then pull out your phone and say, Jared Stidham. Hank, this is such a stretch. You just answered my question from earlier.
2:36:35This is such a stretch. Thank you. You're stretching right now, Hank. I don't think about you at all. This is such a stretch, Hank. I'm looking up Jared. Riddle me this. Riddle me that, Hank. If you have a quarterback that hasn't started in how many years? Three years? I'm going to riddle you this or that. Both. Shut the fuck up, Hank. If there's a brand new quarterback that's going to be playing in the conference championship game, is it or is it not our job to find out any fun things about that person? No stone unturned, Hank. I'll riddle you that. It's called journalism, buddy. Stathol's going to really, really have to be a beast on Friday.
2:37:12We need Stathol to come through. And we need Stathol to come through. We also need PFT to fully read Stathol's stats. Yeah, that's a really good point. Both things need to happen. That's a really good point. Oh, shout out Jake Elliott. Happy birthday today, Jake Elliott. There we go. You are the worst in the history of the NFL. Minimum of 10 attempts at extra points in the playoffs, but you're not 72%. Happy birthday. PFT, can I? Well, what's this? Did you miss a birthday this week? Did I? What do you mean? Did you miss a really important birthday? Did I miss a birthday? Did you miss a really important birthday?
2:37:50Whose birthday did I miss? Who did you say for last Friday's show? Sanford Steve. Who else? No, I didn't know. Sanford Steve was the first one. I don't remember who I said last Friday. Harambe? Did you? I hope you don't. You didn't miss Joe Flacco's birthday, did you? No. I thought his birthday was later on in January. I thought he was in Woodhead Week. No, he's January 16th, 1985. Oh, my God. Great month to be born, but you missed Joe Flacco's birthday. Shout out to my sister. Her birthday was Saturday. I only asked that because he was on WUB this morning, and I think T-Bob was like, oh, happy birthday.
2:38:22I was like, oh, no. Oh, no. My brain immediately went to you. I was like, oh, my God. I got to refine my process. I'm working with some people on refining my birthday process. That's one you can't miss. Yeah, I know. He's not only Joe Flacco, your guy, but he's also our birthday month. Yeah, that's a fact. January 1985. Well, that's what I'm saying. People say January 1985. They say PFT, big cat, Joe Flacco. LeBron on the outside looking in. It was also a show day. It's not 1985. Yeah, listen. It was a show day. Max, this is something. It's continuously improving myself. It's not going to be a straight line.
2:38:56The path to success, you got to trust the process. There's going to be setbacks. Hank, did you just wish - It's like our diet. You just wish your sister a happy birthday belated because her birthday was last weekend. Did you do that in text? Yeah. Okay. Okay, good, good. We did Lin-Manuel Miranda that day. Yeah. Lin-Manuel got it. Was it - And Joe Cool didn't? Lin-Manuel Miranda and Rage Against the Machine. Oh. Zach De La Rocco, maybe. Lin-Manuel. Okay, well, happy birthday, Jake Elliott. And Joe Flacco. And Joe Flacco. Your name's not Jake Smelliot. Anymore. Shout out Hank's sister. Yeah. Okay.
2:39:34Next. Sup Cancun Cat 50 KFT Lefty Hank and Lucky Wind memes. I would love to be in Cancun right now. My question is, is it really considered bare weather if the Bears themselves were negatively affected by the weather drops and whatnot. I do think memes can, and Zach can maybe back me up. I do think the Rams offense was more affected by bear weather than any other unit because their offense is like the best in the league. And they made our defense look awesome. Oh, I agree. I think if you can get Matt Stafford's teeth to chatter, those are the most impacted teeth in the world. Yeah. He's the number one teeth guy that we got.
2:40:14So, yeah, those things are shaking around, probably getting concussion from it. I mean, you can't say the weather didn't have an impact. We were play away from beating the Rams. They were three-and-a-half-point favorite, four-and-a-half-point favorite. They've been presumptive. Oh, wait, what is this? Andrew Jones and Carlos Beltran. Official. All right, nice. Nice announcement. I think Bear Weather had an impact in the game. That's it? I wish Bear Weather had more of an impact in that game. Didn't Beltran do steroids? And yes, Bearweather did affect some drops. There were some drops. There were a lot of drops.
2:40:50I've watched almost all the drops back. The Bills just posted a tribute video to Sean McDermott. That's kind of a weird move, isn't it? Eh. They were really good. I think they were the best team statistically ever to not win a Super Bowl. Damn. Yeah. Or not even go to a Super Bowl. It's still like if you get if you get fired from a place, do you really want them to be like, hey, here's a tribute video that we made water under the bridge? No, no, no, no. All right. Last one. If all the PMT cast teams won a Super Bowl, who would you who would each of you be most happiest for? Besides me, just will never win a Super Bowl.
2:41:28Not even on this is memes. The answer is 100 percent. The ricochet shout was in the question. Yeah, that's only you guys. No, but it's memes. The answer is memes. I think PFT. Shane. I think Hank. Shane. Shane would be, come on. Nah. Shane, he'd be all charged up. Charge him if you got him. Charge up? Yeah. I would be so happy for Hank if he was lucky enough to get a Super Bowl. The answer is memes, though. I think we all can agree. That would rock. Colton. I would be. What would he like? Colton. Oh, yeah. Colton. Cardinals. Colton. Cardinals. I would be excited for memes just because he would be like just such a dick to everybody, and I would love it.
2:42:11He also would be the funniest. I have promised. I've made a promise to myself to be as insufferable, insufferable, insufferable in which insufferable. I'm going to be an asshole, even if they have a winning record ever. Okay, that's fair. Everyone's been warned. Everybody's been put on notice. Yeah, I just want to see memes. would it would be so weird to see but memes i think would just never stop smiling and memes never smiles never stop smiling i also would cry a lot there we go but i mean if hank won after all he's been through yeah jared stedham sucks yeah i might bet fifty thousand dollars on the patriots this weekend that's how confident you're gonna go against our guy that's how confident I am.
2:42:56I mean, no chance. What about eight? I'm going to have to find... If you know any Jared Stidham fun facts, please tag me in there. Help the team. This is all hands on deck. All hands on deck. Jared Stidham fun facts. Is that it, Hank? Yep. Okay. Good show, boys. Great show. Let's finish with numbers. Seven. Eight. Eight. Nice. Eleven. 99, are we all agreeing that it's retired? Yeah. Okay. 10. This is fair. 17. Let me go 10. I'll go 50. 66. Six. Fun fact, Jetson never had a winning record during this podcast. Oh, boy.
2:43:4455. 55. Double neck. Love you guys. Also, happy birthday, Jake Elliott. Max calls you Jake Smelly I don't think he's steak I've said that in the past What do you say to him on his birthday Max? Happy birthday Jake Elliott Super Bowl champion He just wants some cake Love you guys
2:44:29We'll be right back.
2:44:56Thank you.
