Also discussed: Victor Wembanyama’s underwhelming Game 1 and how the Spurs might adjust for Game 2; Knicks’ title outlook and “must-win” pressure on San Antonio. Guest backgrounds
No traditional guests are interviewed in this transcript. The show hosts discuss an upcoming “awesome interview with Wyndham Clark” but Wyndham Clark’s interview content is not included here.
Key claims
- Knicks are “three games away” from their first title in 50+ years and may be unstoppable in the playoffs.
- Brunson: 31 shots, but “stone-cold killer” in the fourth; possible MCL knee issue; still played through it.
- Hart: despite near-zero scoring, had 15 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals in a Finals game; Knicks outscored Spurs by 17 with him on the bench.
- Wembanyama: not effective in Game 1; Spurs need better shooting and a way to manage his minutes without “resting” him.
- Spurs Game 2 framed as an elimination-level “must-win.”
Notable examples
- Brunson returning after leaving with a knee injury; Knicks cutting deficit and then taking control in the fourth.
- Internet “glazing” about Wembanyama shoe-tying/rest habits.
- AJ Brown alleged locker-room beef: masseuse rumor involving AJ Brown, Hassan Reddick, and Jalen Hurts; plus AJ Brown admitting to leaking negative Eagles stories to motivate the team.

3:29Part of my take. Yeah. Part of my take. Yeah. Part of my take.
3:39PFT Commenter:Welcome to Part of My Take presented by DraftKings. The crown is yours. Today is Friday, June 5th, and the New York Knickerbockers are three games away from winning their first NBA title in over 50 years. And PFT, they may never lose again. I'm talking about next season, too. They might just be the best team to ever play playoff basketball. At this point, it's crazy. And they did get off to a slow start, too, but it doesn't matter. Yeah. I mean, the first half, you're like, oh, man, this might be Jalen Brunson has his knee banged into, which we'll talk about in a second. He goes to the locker room.
4:16PFT Commenter:You're like, oh, man, they might not be ready for the moment. They're down at half. And guess what? Down to 14 in the third. Guess what? And not to do a LeBron here, but the minute the Knicks cut it down going into the fourth quarter, we were actually watching the game. Some of us were watching the game together. I was like, it's Jalen Brunson time. And it was. He wasn't the most efficient. He took 31 shots. But he is a stone-cold killer in the fourth quarter, and the Spurs had no answer for him. And it was anything he wanted, he got. And it was also the Knicks defense was incredible. Cat was, I mean, that was maybe, I know it wasn't like, I don't think he hit a three, but in terms of just like best game overall, maybe best playoff game because he was so good defensively.
5:03PFT Commenter:He was getting tough baskets. It's Josh Hart has never seen a rebound he doesn't think he can get. I was going to say, actually, like, Cat had a great game from the opening tip. He won the opening tip. I think the first guy to do that against Wimby. Yep. But I would say the guy that had the best all-around game for the Knicks was Josh Hart. And he didn't score. He had, like, no points. But he's the second player in the history of the NBA to get 15 rebounds, six assists, and four steals in a finals game. and I believe he's the shortest player since Elgin Baylor in 1970 to record 15 rebounds in a finals game.
5:38The Knicks were outscored by 17 with Hart on the bench. It's crazy. Hart, like I've never seen a guy contribute so much to a game without scoring. That's just who he is. As we saw Josh Hart last night.
5:48PFT Commenter:That's who he is. He's awesome. The ball could be just flying out of bounds, and then here comes Josh Hart, and he's going to find a way to get it and get it back in play. He was awesome. And Wemby was not as like... He wasn't good. No, he wasn't. And he was... And it's a problem, too, because you could see, too, when he comes off the court, they just start attacking the basket. Luke Cornett, like this happened in the Thunder series, too, where it's just the Spurs have to figure out a way to survive Luke Cornett minutes. But Wemby was not what you wanted him to be in terms of the superstar best player in the world that people are putting on his head.
6:26PFT Commenter:And he's got to be better. He said it after. He was actually kind of weirdly cocky. He said after, he's like, I'm not worried at all. I got a question for you about Wemby. And you know I love watching Wemby. You love watching Wemby. I think we all are kind of amazed by watching this guy play basketball. Would we hate Wemby more if he was not French? Or does his Frenchness kind of give like a - I think it's the opposite. No, but what I'm saying is like, does it give almost like a mystical aura to him when he's being weird, when he's acting like aloof sometimes? I see what you're saying. We're like, oh, he's just French.
6:59I see what you're saying. Like, if he was American, would we be like, this guy, he's a little bit corny?
7:03PFT Commenter:Yeah, I'd agree with that. But he's French. We're also still getting to know him. That's true. We're still in the feeling out process. But yeah, he's got to be better. I mean, De 'Aaron Fox is bad. Dylan Harper, like, taking him off the court for the last four minutes. I don't really understand that. He really didn't play in the fourth quarter. He was probably the most efficient player on either team when he was in the game. Yeah. He was really, really good. And then I think that they're trying to figure out who's going to be hot at any given time with that combination of three guards, and sometimes you whiff on it.
7:30But it was Dylan Harper. Last night, yeah, he was. Yeah, and they took him out. Then they took him out, and sometimes you whiff on it like that. Do we think, Memes, that Jalen Brunson going into last night's game had any extra motivation that we didn't think about from the time that Wimby took to basketball when he scored 61 points and he threw it into the crowd and wouldn't let Jalen Brunson take that ball home? no i i think it's more becky hammond but that's just yeah let's talk about becky hammond because i i agree with her but in a good way i think i think she said that jill and brunson's too short to be a superstar he said they did not get a dude he's not a dude yeah i think he might be too short for wimby but is he a dude i think he's too short in a good way he's a certified dude the same way that like was it fdu that won uh against uh too short i think he's too short in a good way like they have they have a hard time guarding him because he is short he throws his body around and i know memes and i talked about this a little bit earlier i would like to see jalen brunson play defense against wimby because his his he would be right where the ball is being dribbled right he might accidentally dribble jalen brunson's head that's what i'm saying like he might be the ultimate Wimby stopper off the dribble.
8:47Yeah, there's a theory going around the internet that he's just at his hips and can just steal the ball constantly. Yeah.
8:53PFT Commenter:Jalen Brunson. Dude's got big head. Yeah. When did Becky Hammond say this? Right, when the Knicks signed him. Okay, so while, I mean, I've always thought small guards are going to struggle in the playoffs, Steph Curry being a unicorn, Jalen Brunson might be that unicorn as well. I will say in, maybe not in her defense, but in the general sense, No one thought Jalen Brunson when the Knicks signed him was going to be this. No one. No, or else the Mavericks wouldn't. You think the Mavericks would just let a generational superstar go? Yeah. You think that's what they would do? And this isn't like a shot at anyone because I didn't think it.
9:30PFT Commenter:I don't think anyone was like, he is going to be one of the best players in the NBA. Take the Knicks within three games. I think they're going to win the title. Take the Knicks to their first title in 50 plus years. and also be just like I would say right now in the NBA, the number one killer, like in terms of fourth quarter killer. You want the ball in his hands. He will run the offense. He will get to his spots. He will make his shots, and he is just completely unaffected by everything. Even after the game, I don't know what the fans said to him that he was going back and forth with, but he just won game one of the NBA finals after being down by 14 and he was talking to Scott Foster and looked pissed off after the game.
10:17PFT Commenter:So maybe the fans said something really bad. But memes, that is fair. No one thought he was going to be this. That's fair. People knew he was going to be good. Yes. Because he kind of brought the Mavericks to that Western Conference finals. And you watched him at Nova. I loved him at Nova. He was so good at Nova. So yes, but this is – he's incredible. Yeah, and he does have the Mamba mentality, whatever you want to call it. Yes. And every single playoffs, he just ties Michael Jordan records. I think that with him, when he went to the Knicks, when Becky Hammond said, I don't think that this guy, he's not a dog, he can't get it done, that's when Knicks fans were like, you know what, fuck it.
10:55Yeah, he's a superstar. You just needed somebody to doubt him a little bit. That made New York fall even deeper in love with him. And he's so much fun to watch. They did say after the game, the NBA is looking into two courtside fans who allegedly directed vulgar, profane, flopping remarks towards the Knicks star late in game one of the finals. He did seem to be pointing them out. Yeah. He had a few different interactions with them courtside. I don't think that he really flopped much. I did think that he was dead maybe, to be fair. There were two moments in the first quarter. I thought that Jalen Brunson was dead, and then because of that, Zach was going to die.
11:33PFT Commenter:Zach, what was going through your head? I tweeted during the game. I said, we're doing a Zoom episode because this was right when he left and went to the locker room. I thought we would have to do a Zoom episode. No way we could be all in person. I want to know what was going through your head, Zach, and what was going through your head memes. Because memes, I would imagine you were – it was like put the bomb on and show up to the office. So initially you see him get hit in the knee, and you're like, oh, goodness. Hopefully he's okay. And then it wasn't okay. It hit the tunnel. I was like, that's really not good for a team.
12:08I mean, he's the captain, by far the best player on the court. I would say best player in the NBA right now. And then second, right under that, I was like, well, tomorrow could be the worst day ever. If it comes. If tomorrow happens. If I'm lucky enough to see the sunrise. Well, that's a good point. If I make it through the evening into the office tomorrow, and he's actually hurt and doesn't come back and then have like an insane fourth quarter, yeah, it's going to be a bad day. It's going to be a rough day. And memes, what was your reaction when all this happened? my reaction was I just had flashbacks to Aaron Rogers walking back to the locker room.
12:45And then I thought to myself, I don't know what kind of, uh, sex or blood ritual. Big cat PFT did before starting this show that everything, it just happens for this show. It just didn't make any sense. I was like, There's no way we're losing Jalen Brunson one quarter into the finals. After the 11 controversy. After the 11 controversy. Sex or blood. Sex or blood. Why not both? Why not the cover of the Metallica album, Load?
13:17PFT Commenter:Like, everything just comes up PMT. You tweeted, I don't think I want to do this part of my take thing anymore. I was like, well, we can't lose Jalen Brunson one quarter in. And it was the part of my take gods or whoever you guys did the ritual for. Nobody wanted that. we were all together and when we found out that brunson no we were we were like terrified this can't happen this can't happen maybe hank hank definitely with hank i shouldn't speak for hater hank is out in full force yeah yeah memes i was very upset for you when it happened i did not want it to happen but then when he came back and then he got hurt again i will say this when he got hurt the second time when he like did the tweak of his ankle maybe like minor high high ankle sprain or whatever i thought he was out again because he was like yelling at the ref from the ground i thought that was just him in pain then he got up walked it off at that point i did say out loud to myself how many more times is this guy going to get hurt i did say that so i'd like to apologize for that do you think he was actually hurt apology accepted yeah he was definitely hurt so he definitely played on like a beaver tranquilizer or something beaver tranquilizer nice that sounds not legal.
14:27PFT Commenter:What was going through your head about Zach specifically? Honestly, nothing. My phone was blown up being like, we gotta take care of Zach. He's like people that work here. Oh. So why did Tom Lay say that? It was Tom Lay. Yeah. But then he came back and then it was fine. Okay. Are you worried that they're not going to be able to shoot him up with the same beaver tranquilizer for game two. That sounds like a pretty serious prescription that he has to take. No, if you got one beaver tranquilizer, you got more. Okay. Do we know what they suspect him of having? Like, what's the injury? No. Just a sore knee?
15:08PFT Commenter:Dr. Dan said it was a possible sprained MCL. But he played on it. I think he'll probably not feel great. But again, if you doubt Jalen Brunson at this point, you're crazy. and he so here's some Jalen Brunson stats that are nuts and and by the way back to the uh conversation about the small guard thing it also is credit to in memes I think you probably agree with this it's credit to the Knicks roster building and what Leon Rose has done in terms of the Knicks just have like really good defenders and crazy length at most of their positions and then you can have Jalen Brunson who's maybe not the best defender when you when you surround him with Josh Hart and OG and Mikael Bridges and Kat, who played great defense and didn't get in Mitchell Robinson.
15:56PFT Commenter:Like these guys are just dogs. And I think that was what, like, if you look at what the Spurs did last night, they shot like shit. I think the length of the Knicks probably bothered them a little bit because it's a different beast than what they were up against with the Thunder. Do you think that there's any merit to the people that are saying Wimby, they got to figure out how to rest Wimby without resting him? Well, this is the problem. Luke Cornett comes in and it's like, it's basically everyone's like, get to the rim now like leave him in the game but like do in-game minutes where he's not they did a great job of pushing the tempo and making him run and get it and getting him moving but like is there a way for wimby to get a couple minutes where he's not just going balls to the wall and stay on the court i think our good friend rachel nichols had a tweet last night that was it was maybe a borderline the glazing's crazy uh let me try to find it it was uh hold on because it It basically hit on exactly what you're talking about.
16:54PFT Commenter:Victor may be 22 years old in his first finals, but that shoelace tying at the line to get himself an extra breath was a vet move. Glazing's a little crazy. Okay, so yeah, stuff like that. He also needed to tie his shoe. Yeah, they need to do more. Can he have longer shoelaces? What if he had the longest shoelaces possible? Clown shoes? Yeah, so it actually did take him five minutes to tie his shoes. Multiple guys have to. Steph Castle and De 'Aaron Fox have to come and tie his shoes for him. And every time there's a whistle, somebody on the Spurs needs to have an untied shoe that they have to start tying.
17:27That's number one. Number two is they might have to just go back to Hackamage. If he's on the court, just to get in those minutes, get Wimby some rest.
17:35PFT Commenter:But that was what was crazy last night because we all thought – we talked with Kirk Oldsbury about it. I thought OG was going to guard Wimby, and Cat was – I mean, he did a great job. I thought that Cat after the game, when he did the interview with Charles and Shaq and the guys, that was awesome to see Cat like that. He was so calm and introspective and what he was saying, you could tell he meant it and it means the world for him to be playing in the NBA finals. He was talking about how this is a moment he thought about ever since he was a little kid, and now he's grown up and it feels just like he thought it would and that he felt his mom's presence there.
18:09That was a really cool moment to see Cat like that after such a great performance. And then at one point he was like, you know what? I'm just really proud of the defensive effort that I put out there. There's other stuff I have to correct, but I'm proud of the defense that I played tonight. This is Cat saying all this. Cat has been maligned throughout his career sometimes for not really trying on defense.
18:27PFT Commenter:he tries to just maybe just fouls and you know doesn't move his feet yeah yeah but but now it's like this is a different cat and credit to the next coaching staff yeah i told you before the series i have two man crushes steph castle and cat i've always loved cat i think he's so funny and and he's i love his game and i you know people people make fun of his like expressions i think it adds to it it's just he's he's an entertaining guy to watch and i'm very happy for him. The Jalen Brunson, you ready for some Jalen Brunson stats memes? I'm sure you've seen all these. But 318 players have appeared in 55 plus playoff games for a single team.
19:05PFT Commenter:The only ones to average more points per game than Jalen Brunson are Michael Jordan for the Bulls, Allen Iverson for the Sixers, LeBron James for the Cavs, and Kareem for the Bucs. That's pretty good company. He also right now is He's scored 30 points in almost 50 % of his playoff games with the Knicks. 30 points or more in almost 50%, 47.4%. That's pretty insane. He's just every fourth quarter, he's just insane. Jalen Brunson averaged 8.2 points per game in the fourth quarter in OT and playoffs with the Knicks. only person in play-by-play error to average more is MJ with 9.3 points per game in the fourth quarter overtime so it's he's just he's on a different level right now I now for the Spurs if you were looking for hey how how like is the series over um Wemby's gonna play better you'd assume yeah he didn't play well at all I think he'll figure it out yeah uh I also think they aren't going to shoot as bad as they shot.
20:15PFT Commenter:I saw a stat. I think it was they were one for 13 in shooting when or one for 14 with Brunson as the primary defender. You just imagine that the shooting would get a little bit better. The thing that I would be nervous if I was a Spurs is like I said, they used cat on Wemby last night. They haven't even had to go to the OG like OG feels like the counter move if Wemby starts going off. So it's like they kept a chess move ready for later in the series. Yeah, I think that also, you know, the Spurs are probably tired. They're probably exhausted to a certain extent after a seven game series, which is why in the second half kind of looked a little sluggish.
20:52I think they'll be, excuse me, I think they'll be okay in game number two. I would put the house on the Spurs winning game two. House.
21:02PFT Commenter:The Knicks have not lost a game since April 23rd. Insane. April 23rd. It's tax day for you, Hank. April 23rd. what about the fucking nuts what about the guy that uh that ran onto the court you hardly ever see what they did last night which was they showed a replay like a slow-mo replay yep of the person that did it usually they cut away not only that but there's just basketball is not a streaker sport no it's not also we need to across the board i think i've talked about this in football you're not a streaker if you're wearing clothes correct we need to that s word is not for you you're just a guy you're just a trespasser if you trespass if you go on the court at an nba game um just to like promote whatever cryptocurrency uh or like whatever shit coin you're trying to pump they should take all your money too yeah they should they should tap into your account and be like sorry you're a loser yep all your money now goes to the team yep agreed um did you guys listen i know we've talked about it a lot but i feel like the larry o 'brien trophy at center court was too big and i i think i think we should go back to not having it adam silver if you're listening i think we got to get rid of it distracting yeah no i just want to keep flip flopping and see if we can get him to remove it year by year what did you think dude it's too much dude come on like we get it it's the nba finals what do you think fucking chill out what do you Think about the introductions.
22:30That was another one last year.
22:31PFT Commenter:Dude, I love the Spurs always doing the weird songs. They used to do that back in the day, too. Yeah, I thought the broadcast was good, except for the AI Tony Parker, which no one can explain. That's weird. That's very strange. I also thought that people that are getting mad at Wimby for putting his hands, like crossing his arms during the national anthem, those people online are my new favorite. People that don't understand that he's not American, so he doesn't have his hand over his heart for the Star Spangled Banner. That's funny. and then I listen again I like the crowd I like the colorful the fiesta crowd yeah that they have in San Antonio not the most intimidating but it is awesome to look at I was confused by our great friend Darren Revell who said credit to the Spurs for getting everybody in the crowd to dress up like a Taco Bell hot sauce packet I don't know that Darren Revell has ever eaten at a Taco Bell I think he was talking about the Taco Bell design of like the 90s yeah that would make sense I think I think he was talking about specifically the orange kind of looked like a hot, but like the other colors.
23:31Orange, red, black. It was pink. It was like an aqua. Those are not colors of the salsa or the hot sauce at Taco Bell.
Read the full transcript
23:39PFT Commenter:I do think that the Spurs crowd should go all black in the next game. I don't know if that would like fuck up there or make it. Maybe if they did take the over, like shooting eye would be awesome. It'd be great. Yeah. If it was like curtains. Being timid. Get some of the bats back in there. Like when Manu used to just snatch him out of the air. So our good friend Jerry O 'Connell was there. He broke the AC. Yeah, they did break the AC. Just watching his Twitter, I don't know how he gets into these situations where it's just so funny. He just popped up in a car with three Asian dudes, Knicks fans, and then Jerry somehow looked the most Asian out of all of them, which didn't make any sense either.
24:25PFT Commenter:but Jerry is just he's everywhere. Do we think that there is a chance look at that picture. I mean he does so it's he just finds friends everywhere. They did a celebrities a game one graphic. Where should we be upset for Jerry? So I was upset when this happened to him in the World Series because it did feel it felt personal. This time feels like not personal just it feels like the NBA is trying to copy what Major League Baseball did, which was pretending to not know that Jerry O 'Connell was there. Alright, so I have the list in front of me. Politicians aside, because Jerry should be ahead of politicians.
25:03PFT Commenter:They have Governor Greg Abbott, the mayor is on there, but I'm just going to say some names. Tell me if Jerry should be ahead of them. Timothy Chalamet, I think that's fair that Timothy Chalamet gets on there. He's hot right now. Also, credit to Chalamet for almost taking a role-player type assignment, not being feet on the wood. Yep. Was Abbott, was his feet? I don't know. Probably not. Shane Gillis, bigger. Our good friend Shane Gillis, he's bigger. Jimmy Goldstein, I don't, that guy, he's just the Marlins man at NBA. Get him out of here. He's not. Jerry O 'Connell was in Kangaroo Jack. Get the fuck out of here.
25:38PFT Commenter:I think, let's see, Ben Stiller, I get it. He's probably bigger. I think Jerry's better, whatever. Tracy Morgan, bigger, Spike Lee, but come on. Fat Joe. Fat Joe's not fat anymore. So that's Jerry O 'Connell. Like, hey, Fat Joe. Jerry already did that move. He was fat and he got skinny. You're just late to the party. Fat Gordo, right? Yeah. I would like to see Jerry on one of these lists. It's kind of crazy. He just went solo. He just went to go. And then AWL drove him home? I guess, yeah. Fucking love it. He's the best. He's the absolute best. Is he going to go to game two? I don't know. I don't think so.
26:18Because he said, the last I saw from him said, I live in San Antonio now. Oh, okay. He went to the Alamo. He had a great time. Alamo kind of overrated.
26:28PFT Commenter:Yeah, a little bit. I never forget. Tiny. Okay. Any other thoughts from the series, from game one? It did feel the hype of the game felt like the finals were back. I also saw, I think it was a stat that, I think that was the first time the Spurs lost the NBA finals game one. Yep. They were 6-0. Yeah. Landry Shammott just shows up and hits threes. He's a killer. He's just an assassin. Landry Shammott and Miles McBride are the fucking best. Yeah. I will say, though, to counter your point with what you could say for the Spurs, you could also say for the Knicks. Like, the Knicks did not play good.
27:04PFT Commenter:No, I agree. I agree. And that was the Russ game. And you imagine the Russ is going to fall off. Oh, it was the Russ game, yeah. And the Spurs just looked dead tired at the end of that game. Spurs shot 26 % from three. But, yeah. No, I mean, that was at halftime, the Spurs kind of have to win this game because the Knicks just, I don't know if they'll ever lose again. It's insane what they've done and how good they are and how likable they are. You know? It's nuts. What are you going to say, Max? Game two for the Spurs is the biggest must-win of all must-wins. All time. It's a can't-lose and a must-win all rolled into one.
27:44It may as well be an elimination game.
27:46PFT Commenter:Yes. Yeah, I'd be fine if they said that the series were done. Yeah, there's zero chance if they lose game two. We got a lot of people that listen to this podcast. I love all of you, and I'd like to use the AWLs out there to try to get to the bottom of something that they won't disclose to us. Before the game last night, they had the mayor of San Antonio on, and when they brought her on, before they actually had her on set, I was worried about what she was going to look like with the whole Charles Barkley dynamic. Fortunately, that was not a problem. she said that there's a mayor's bet between her and mom donnie i love mayor's bets she won't tell us what the stakes are oh no it's a we have a secret mayor's bet going on right now if anybody out there knows what the two have bet it's probably something extremely corny but i just need to know i have to know it's probably like i don't know uh like it's probably like a uh pizza like from joe's tossed up against like a gallon of white queso i don't know what it is but i have to know so Somebody please tell me if you know what the two have bet.
28:49PFT Commenter:Okay. We got to find this out. Yeah. You have to publicly say what the mayor's bet. Yeah. I don't understand. I've never heard of a secret mayor's bet in my life. Got to. Got to. Okay. You feel good about game two memes, Zach? You guys going to watch it together?
29:07PFT Commenter:I'm going to find it. Googled secret mayor's bet. Yeah. I thought the news would know what I was talking about. The news doesn't. So that maybe PFT is just making this up then because that should. Okay. I think I found it. I mean, she said it on the show. I know there's people should be talking about it. I've reached out to the highest levels of our federal government to try to figure this out. And I wish I was exaggerating about that. We're going to find this. Yeah. I've called in every favor I have to try to find out what this is. Any last thoughts, memes and Zach before game two? I feel great.
29:40I just feel like. How could you not? I feel like the Spurs haven't played a team like the Knicks. The only way to beat the Knicks, you have to kill the Knicks. And the Knicks don't die. You have to run up the score. Yeah. Because every game they've won, they've just beat teams by 30. Although the Hawks did beat them.
29:58PFT Commenter:Are the Hawks the second best team in the NBA? I think so. It might be. The fact that they beat the Knicks twice is pretty impressive. Raise a banner and then I'll get it in like five years. A lot of former Wizards on the Hawks too. Yeah. Hank, what do you say? Oh, yeah, you're in hell. You're a big Knicks hater, known hater of the city of New York. This is not a good start for you. Yeah, I mean, congrats to Meems. Congrats to Zach. I mean, should we just start Mount Rushmore season on Sunday? You know what? I think if the Knicks win, yeah. Yeah, the series. We still got to figure it out. Let's talk about that.
30:38PFT Commenter:Spurs needed to win both these games they lost. They're out of gas. Are you a little nervous now that if the Knicks win this one, everything comes down to next season? Yeah, I mean, they're... They'd be NBA champions. You can't deny that. You thought this was going to be your time. Oh, it's still... It's not not our time. Oh, it's not your time? It is your time? By definition, it's not because you're not in the playoffs. The last three champions will be Celtics, Thunder, Knicks, and then next season for everything. So yeah, Hank and I had a little conversation about this. He's already focused on who's going to be known as the team of the 20s.
31:15And right now, since we don't have any repeat champions, the Celtics still could be in the middle of a dynasty that we don't even know about yet.
31:22PFT Commenter:Yeah, they still have a good resume. It's a dormant dynasty. It's not off the table. Right. But this has got to make you nervous. Yeah, I mean, the Knicks are the greatest team ever assembled. It's tough to deny. They're unstoppable. There's no way they're losing this series, and we should just fast forward to next year. Which would you rather have done? Get beaten in game seven by the Sixers, which did happen, or get swept by the Knicks, which would have happened?
31:53PFT Commenter:I guess get swept by the Knicks. So you admit it would have happened. Yeah, I mean, have you seen this team? They're unstoppable. Yeah. And the Spurs are out of gas. Are you going to congratulate the Knicks on their championship? I did. I said congrats to me. I just congrats to Zach. So congrats to the Knicks and all their fans. Yeah, Jerry, whoever. Do you accept the congrats? Memes? Knicks, three wins away. Zach? One game at a time. Okay. But I would like to add on after those three wins if they happen. What would you like to add on? Nope, but we got to wait. Wait. Oh! We got to wait. What would you like to add on?
32:33Oh, so much. Knicks got to win.
32:36PFT Commenter:Oh. Oh, there's going to be a lot of adding on. A lot. Will we need like its own, you know, memes add on portion? Nice little Monday reading. Is it who's on the hot seat? Just Hank or everyone? No, just Celtics. Just Hank. Yeah. I almost think that memes should have like the New York Minute, his own podcast. If the Knicks win just for him to get all these. Because memes already has become a problem where he's dangerously confident. He's looking down his nose at everybody else. You need, I think, your own silo for your next takes. Yeah, I'm just enjoying every second of it. Because the reality is you either just life goes on and you're still a loser or your life changes forever.
33:21What would change about your life forever? Everything. I'd be a winner. Yeah. I am a massive loser. I just freaked out at someone for a lottery ball machine. Yeah. Walk me through. You did. And it was a freak out. Day to day, what changes about your life if you become a winner? happiness peace yep joy do you think that you would be worse at your job if you were happy all the time oh for sure yeah i i'm sure you'll find somebody pissed off about yeah but it'd be a great summer and then the jets start and then i'm back yeah okay other stories uh before so
33:57PFT Commenter:we're taping this uh in the afternoon we're gonna we're gonna get the reaction to stanley cup final coming up in a minute, and also Caleb on the Madden cover. Yeah, what do you got? Just one of the other stories in the news right now. Oh, yeah. Are you reading it? That one? No. Oh, okay, because I didn't even know that one. I just saw it. I hope you're thinking the same one I'm thinking of, BFD. Tell me what it's about, Max. Does it involve one of, actually, I guess, two of the teams that are fans of this show? It might. I had two of these, actually. I had two Brian Winhorses. Okay. I'll go with the other one first.
34:37Congratulations to Nick Herbig on getting a massive contract from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mm-hmm. Badger. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he's also not a starter, and he just got$100 million from the Steelers. Mm-hmm. Now, why would they do something? Why would that be? Why would they do something like that? Why would that be? Do you think maybe TJ Watt might be getting chopped?
35:02PFT Commenter:Mm-hmm. Do you think T.J. Watt would be interested in playing for the Chicago Bears? That would be fun. Just something to think about. Rap sheet dispels. Okay. This is where. What happens? Rap sheet dispels any T.J. Watt trade rumors. T.J. Watt isn't going anywhere this year. He's going to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I don't get the sense that Alex Highsmith is going anywhere else. That makes me think he's going to get traded. I mean, the fact that they gave Herbig a$100 million contract as a backup makes no sense. Mm-hmm. Right? Just something to think about. He's very good. Yeah, he is.
35:37He's a very good player. Okay, what was the other one? And then the other one had to do with New England Patriot A.J. Brown.
35:45PFT Commenter:Yeah, that's the one I'm looking at right now. I didn't even see that story. That's crazy. So he admitted to leaking stories about the Eagles to the media to motivate the team? Is this true, or is this essential? You're not even close to the most interesting thing of the A.J. Brown story, right? By all means, go ahead. You're not even close to the most. Give it to us, please. Someone from inside of the Eagles locker room leaked exactly what happened in the beef between A.J. Brown, Jalen Hurts, and Hassan Reddick. Okay, and? Should I? I mean, it's like a whole tweet thread saying that. I'll give the SparkNotes version of it.
36:27Can you just explain it? I'll do the SparkNotes version of it. Okay. Yeah, because you can't. According to this, according, I can read.
36:33PFT Commenter:I just read for your fucking book for an hour. You're in the book too, buddy. It's our book. It's your fucking book. Wait, whoa, whoa. It's our book, Max. Also, if your portion took an hour, then that proves you cannot read. It took me like 20 minutes. Okay. It was scheduled for an hour, though. Yeah, because it said Max can't read. Read. Actually, I actually fucked up a couple times. so this is all according to a reading no oh okay can you tell me what the tweet is max i'll just pull up the tweet thread i'm gonna look up go max go brown no no i want to hear what he says i just want to bear i want to see what he says go ahead sorry this is all according to a burner on twitter that posted this like 10 tweet thread about exactly why there was beef in the in the Eagles locker room he a Eagles like insider Instagram account posted an Instagram screenshotting every single one of these tweets Brandon Graham liked that tweet like that Instagram and then CJ Gardner Johnson yesterday morning woke up and tweeted can you believe that we still won a Super with all this drama that went on.
37:47PFT Commenter:Okay. So, A.J. Brown, according to, allegedly, this is all allegedly, A.J. Brown was hooking up with a masseuse. Then Hassan Reddick started hooking up with that same masseuse without A.J. Brown knowing that Hassan Reddick was hooking up with the same girl. What do you mean hooking up with a masseuse? Like A.J. Cleveland Brown is what I'm hearing. I don't know. I don't know. It seemed to be a consensual relationship between the masseuse. Whatever. They both were consensual relationships. It seemed to be. With a team masseuse. Jalen Hurts found out that Hasan Reddick was also hooking up with this same masseuse.
38:28A.J. Brown found out about Hasan Reddick, got super pissed at Hasan Reddick. The Eagles then had to trade Hasan Reddick to the Jets. A.J. Brown also found out that Jalen Hurts knew that Hassan Redick was hooking up with the A.J. Brown the person that A.J. Brown was involved with and he was so angry about the entire situation that he blamed Jalen Hurts just as much as he blamed Hassan Redick because he thought he was his best friend and that his best friend should have told him and that Jalen Hurts didn't want to get involved with off the field things like that so that's why aj brown was pissed at jalen hurts okay and all of this was going down during the super bowl year yes yeah big cat
39:16PFT Commenter:this is all a legend now what i'm about to say i don't want to say but it's something that i think the awls would be wondering and they're be like hey why didn't you ask this to max where's big dom in all this isn't this big dom kept this out of the media until after a.j that's true but he's got to get he's got to get all three guys in a room and just big hey squash the beef guys big dom was able to get a super bowl that's true all right that's good counterpoint all of this happened and they still want a super big dom so in this circumstance it's it i don't think it was a team masseuse i think it was like i never said it was a team yeah i know i was asking the question i was reading more about it it does not look like it was a team masseuse to catch that big dom can't have anything to do with that he can't it's not his fault he can't be glued to a.j brown's shoulder at all times now if if he's catching feelings about this masseuse that sounds like it was more than just a masseuse client relationship it sounds like maybe this was no i think feelings for yes i think this was like a a real relationship.
40:21And then Jalen Hurts knew about it. And he... So then AJ Brown felt embarrassed that it felt like all of his friends knew about it except for him. Yeah. And then he's mad at Jalen. I could see that. Yeah. It's also all of this... And then he goes to the Patriots who have had no masseuse scandals in their past. Hank?
40:43PFT Commenter:This is like the biggest nothing story I've ever heard. Well, they also won a Super Bowl. Yeah, like who cares? That's the part that you can look back. Breaking news. Professional sports teams has guys hooking up with the same girl, and there's drama in the locker room. Oh. You're going to talk about our favorite teams and drama between hooking up? No, he's having your back, Max. Oh. Can't read. I don't think he's having my back at all, by the way. He's having A.J. Brown's back. No, he's saying this story is a nothing burger. Max also has a hard time reading with his ears. He's saying it's a nothing burger.
41:17PFT Commenter:He's saying that this happens in every locker room in America. I don't know about what happened. What A.J. Brown did the past couple of years does not happen in every locker room in America. A wide receiver one who's had three all pros, been to two Super Bowls, won one, does not pull the antics that A.J. Brown did last year. That does not happen in every locker room in America. I mean, Max, it's sad to see what a fake friend you are. You were saying the nicest things about A.J. Brown until a week ago. And now it's like, oh, this guy, the antics. A.J. Brown was right about a lot of the stuff that he was saying about that offense.
41:51PFT Commenter:Also, if Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown are best friends, if your best friend knew that and didn't tell you, you'd be mad too. Jalen Hurts, he broke bro code. Yeah, I'm just saying what happened. It just explains a lot more of what this makes a lot of sense for a lot of things that didn't make sense over the past two years. Am I wrong? No, you're right. I'm going to say, if I was an eagle, I would make sure my masseuse stayed far away from Jalen Hurts. Also very alleged. I don't know if any of this is actually true, but it makes a lot of sense. Okay. So, and then he also admitted to, AJ Brown did admit to leaking negative eagle stories.
42:33Is that true? Yeah. I guess that was his way of trying to motivate the team.
42:38PFT Commenter:Yeah. Good guy. Like I said, leadership. I mean, memes kind of did the same thing the other day. It was done. It was done purposely to give us a push. It gives everything legs to push everybody to be better. I feel like it was okay to do. Yeah. Memes leak negative stories about Zach. Trashing him. Got us all together. Yeah. Very neat of you, but yeah. Okay. Well, it's crazy. It's crazy you guys won a Super Bowl. Yeah. Also, shout out the team for keeping that in-house until after he got traded because getting that first-round pick. Yeah, true. If that was like a real story that happened before the trade got announced.
43:23It would have been tough. It would have been tough to get. Or maybe they found out that's why they didn't get the 2029 first-round pick.
43:29PFT Commenter:Right. The more valuable. Right. Yeah. Right. Max, now, it's all well and good that you're saying all this, but also I think that you owe me and Big Cat an apology. Yep. A big apology. Yep. For what? For being right about this entire dynamic. Correct. Asking you every week if everything was okay. And you were like, yeah, it's fine. What am I going to say? What do you want me to say? Well, now you're like, everything was so messed up between the two of them. Yeah, you should have said. I apologize to the listeners for lying to them. Yeah. And you want to know what you should have said, Max? You should have said, hey, I'm starting to think that maybe Hasan Reddick and AJ Brown were fucking the same masseuse and Jalen Hurts knew and didn't tell AJ Brown, and that's why they hate each other.
44:04PFT Commenter:That's what you should have said. Maybe that's what I should have said. but he didn't say it he said everything was fine Sam Redick's a piece of shit by the way alright I had a couple other things one just cause it's did you guys see Brandon Johnson admit that he left the Bears Packers game early what a fucking idiot how do you say that and he tossed it in like it was like a minor part of the story because he was talking about just like leaving Soldier Field which obviously Soldier Field stinks to leave. Everybody knows that. You didn't have to say that you left early because you were losing. The funniest part, too, is that I don't know if he specifically said which one, but both you couldn't have left early.
44:51Both Bears-Packers game in Chicago this year, you couldn't have left early. That's true. And what if the Packers had said, stop the count? Yeah. Before all those strange scores started to appear in the second half, Brandon.
45:02PFT Commenter:Facts. and then listen we love him Peter Schrager good friend of the show I could do without whenever we get the fun nugget from an athlete getting traded somewhere and then we have the immediate so his tweet was fun nugget on Miles Garrett's first day in LA after the flight after the press conference after meeting everyone it was time to wrap up a wild day as they're packing up Garrett pulls aside a Rams official and asks if he could go to the gym and do a full workout whoa hey you want to work out hey hey the professional athlete wanted to work out fun nugget hey you know where's there's some weights shrags we got to have you back on and we got to we got to talk about what a fun nugget it means and what it doesn't because i expect the professional athlete to want to work out i also like when um i think it was tj watts extension yeah when he when he marched into the steelers office we made fun of that one too yeah it's Like, yeah, no shit.
45:59PFT Commenter:These guys like to work out. They work out for a job. I'd like to work out. Now, sir, if it's all right with you, I'd like to do an extra long workout. Yeah. When we signed Zach to Barstool, he said, hey, can I start cutting some clips and doing some podcasts? And it was fucking amazing. I've never seen anyone do that before. To get hired at a job and be like, can I start working? It was amazing. The work ethic on this guy. Yeah. Just once I want to hear the opposite story. Miles Garrett came to LA, and then he did the whole press conference. He pulled the Rams official aside and said, hey, where are the bitches at?
46:33PFT Commenter:I'm out of here. I'm going to go party for the next week. Anybody know where I can get him a Seuss? All right. Anything else that we have? I'm trying to think. Anything else? Oh, I think that's it. And then we'll get. I did see a little cleanup. We made a lot about the nine versus Kyler Murray relationship last week. there was an update on that so kevin o 'connell addressed it and he said the relationship between the two of them is actually very professional oh nice so that's what you that's what you like to hear yeah so which means that everything's fine yeah oh i had i did have one last thing todd munkin did you see his quote he said uh on the browns qb situation we we've got two starting level quarterbacks which two oh no it's true yeah first of all it's true because deshaun watson has started well so is Dylan they actually have three they have three starting yeah that's fair but I like this motivation tool he's basically doing the uh the like the old prank you get three pigs you paint one number one one number three you're like where's two we don't know which one which two are the starting two I I do think it's funny though that he's um he's trying the old coach technique of walking in and being like every spot's up for grabs yep you have to earn every there's no such thing as a starter on this team we don't know it could be anybody and he's thinking that's going to be a good motivational tool for the quarterback position as if there's one guy that thinks that oh shit i gotta step up because i thought i was gonna be the starter not anymore open tryouts i think you have three guys that are like oh fuck coach just took away my starting spot now i guess i have to go out there and earn it yeah gotta get everyone every job is up um did you guys have you guys played 82 and oh i feel like it's it was like a hard 12 hours and now well i also what i got it and then and then yeah and then it's it's a game that basically uh someone realized on the internet it it's the the old cliche guys just love to name dudes like sit around and name dudes it's a game that you're just trying to create a a perfect basketball team and then i think i tapped out when i saw a bunch of people try to piggyback and create for all the other sports and then i saw of soccer and i was like i'm done yeah there's 20 you know for football basically they're just trying to do what if wordle but for sports yeah no you're just naming dudes yeah clicking on dudes instead of uh the daily sudoku what if it was just like talking about mark limke yeah listen i i did it last night for a while i had a lot of fun but i don't know if i'm gonna keep going back and back to it i've done the football one a couple times i'm more of a uh geosports guy myself geosports is awesome i like that one has some legs to it yeah that game feels like it could be fun for a long time.
49:17Dudes love sports and dudes love maps.
49:19PFT Commenter:Yeah. Max is going real quick. All right. Wait. Let's do one together as a team real quick. Try to get 82 and 0. My team's good right now. Go to the football one. Dude, my team is good right now. Max is crushing it right now. Is he? He's crushing it. Boston 70s. Hank, who you got? John. We're going to have to go with Havilchick. What about McAdoo? No, it's got to be. Okay. Ah, 75 and 7. All right. Go to the football one. Let's go real quick. What's the football one? 20 and 0. And then do what? And then do GeoSports. I did see there was the... It's very funny. It's kind of a nice flex that they...
49:55PFT Commenter:It got so niche that our good friend Matt Jones, which, by the way, we're hosting Kentucky Sports Radio in a couple... Not next week, but the week after. They had a 40-0 Kentucky one. It was just Kentucky roster. Just Kentucky players. And I did want... I didn't want to kick the horn of the test, but I wanted to reply being like, you could just stop it with Sam Decker and Frank Kaminsky. But I didn't. But I didn't. Okay. Here we go. Detroit, 2021. Jameer Gibbs, right? Jerry Goff. No, Amon Ra. Amon Ra. We're taking a wide receiver from Detroit 2021 to 2025. Flex. Oh. Okay. Indianapolis, 2006 to 2010.
50:30PFT Commenter:Probably Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning. That would be Peyton Manning. We got a good quarterback, guys. That's our final answer. Peyton Manning. Miami, 2021 to 2025. Tyree Kill. Tyree Kill. Okay. This is a pretty good team, boys. We've got a pretty good team going. San Francisco, 1984, 1990. Jerry Rice. Jerry Rice. Jerry Rice. Okay, we need a tight end and a running back Green Bay 2006-2010 This could be good Mon Green Show me the tight ends though Mon Green, Michael Finley I think you gotta go Mon Green Ryan Grant's better Yeah, Ryan Grant did have that If they're picking specific years Okay, go Ryan Grant We're boxed into a tight end Carolina Is that Greg Olson?
51:13PFT Commenter:No, 99-2005 This guy had 12 touchdowns Alright put him on there And we went 20-0 How the fuck did we go 20-0 that was so easy Wesley Walls was our last pick Good work guys Those receivers are a problem Those receivers are really really good I mean Jerry Rice, Tyreek Hill and Amon Ra With Peyton Manning throwing it to him is pretty damn good We have to admit And that was great podcasting Hank how'd you like that It was awesome If there was a fucking live golf, you know, go win the Beijing Classic, you would have done it. You want to try a Geosports? It's five questions. I feel like that was good.
51:52PFT Commenter:I feel like that was good podcasting. No, no, that was good podcasting. Okay. We're going to talk some Stanley Cup final and Caleb on the Madden cover before we do that. Experian. We are back on Zoom because we had to talk about the Stanley Cup final. And what a Stanley Cup final it's been through two games. The Carolina Hurricanes tie it up 1-1 off an incredible, I don't know, like three minutes of hockey. We're not including the overtime where they win in overtime.
54:27PFT Commenter:but the early whistle on the Golden Knights with the puck going into the net, I don't know. I mean, it was clear the whistle happened before the puck crossed the line. Whether the whistle was premature, I don't understand that. Then the Knights challenge it, lose their challenge, Hurricanes power play, goal to tie it up, or sorry, to take the lead. Then the Knights tie it up with two minutes left. What an insane hockey game. So the moral of this series so far has been 2-0 remains the most dangerous lead in hockey. You don't want to go up 2-0 in this series. Kiss of death if that happens. And the challenge I thought was pretty ballsy on Vegas' part, on Tort's part, they never overturned that call.
55:12I've never seen that call called, oh, yeah, our bad. That was a goal. Sorry about that. Point at center ice. That never happens. But then to see what happened afterwards, one I don't think I don't think Mark Messier understands what happened still I think he's still very confused about about how that all went down but I thought Whitney made a really good point which was like they do not respect the Hurricanes power play for challenging that and
55:38PFT Commenter:and I think you challenge that when you're up 1-0 you know and you took a road game I don't think you challenge that if it's you know with three minutes left basically saying hey if we don't win this we're going to go on a power play and maybe lose go down oh two so it was it was a ballsy challenge it was like a hey let's just try to win this whole series right now um i'm happy that the knights then tied it up because i didn't want the game to be decided by that because i do think it was a premature whistle like yeah it it was the correct call to not give the knights the goal after you see you watch the replay and see the whistle but the whistle was early and it felt like it was like hey thank god the night scored so we went to overtime we get justice hurricanes get back alive what a series and then and then Tuesday night was incredible as well it's been an awesome Stanley Cup final to start it's also been awesome ratings PFT so we can feel okay talking about hockey 4.8 million people watch game one so don't cancel it yet that's good to know because i didn't know whether or not i should like hockey but now that nearly 5 million people are watching that's that's some good stuff um i did not realize that uh that the golden knights are that much bigger than the hurricanes like physically it looked like i mean through two periods i i didn't think that the the hurricanes had it in them it seemed like even though i think the shots on goal were probably pretty close.
57:06But Vegas seemed to be in control of this game. And if they go up 2-0 after two games on the road, I feel like the series is over. Like the Cup is going to Vegas. So that was a must-win. Must-win for the Hurricanes. And they did it. Also, they had a great, great crank to start things off. Great crank. Now, Cam Ward looks much different than I remember him last time I saw him. But he cranked the fuck out of that siren. He really did. I don't think I've seen a man crank off that hard in a long time. So Vegas has their work cut out for them if they want to keep up with that. But, yeah, great hockey game.
57:44PFT Commenter:Awesome game. By the way, shots were 26-26 in that game. So, yeah, it felt like it. And it really did with 10 minutes left or whatever it was. I can't remember the exact time that the Hurricanes scored their two goals. But, like, it felt like the series was over. We felt like we were going to watch just, you know, just give them the cup right now because you're going to go back to Vegas and they had just been dominating. Now we have a series, boys, and it feels good to have a little bit of a series. How does have we heard an update on McNabb? I don't know, but that was one of the nastiest. He ate it.
58:21PFT Commenter:He literally ate a puck. I think it went into his mouth. I think it like his mouth and his nose. Then he coughed and then it came back up like in a cartoon. I saw that he went to the hospital maybe. So I hope he's okay. But that was it. Remind me of Carlson one time from the caps took a slap shot to the side of the head and his helmet like went into his head and severed his temporal artery. And so they had to like take him to the hospital and get that stitched up. I hope there was no like there's definitely some blood, but I hope it wasn't serious for McNagg because that was that was a gnarly shot right to the face.
58:57temporal artery sounds like a pretty good like sushi roll yeah something maybe a little deep
59:04PFT Commenter:fried yeah um but yeah hockey's been awesome we'll have one of the boys on uh next week to to break it all down to explain to us what we're watching but yeah it's been and in the and the crowd has been incredible like that was to watch it kind of shift as the game goes and then get and the Hurricanes get back in the game, and then to score right off the power play from the challenge, it felt like the roof was going to come off that barn, and it's fucking awesome. So credit to the NHL. You put on a good product. Way to go. Way to go, boys. All right, the last thing, Caleb Williams officially Madden cover.
59:45PFT Commenter:That happened on Wednesday morning. Cool cover. I'm pumped for Caleb. I know there's a lot of people who are very upset about it, but that's okay. That was going to happen no matter what, unless you put like... He's very upset about this. I want to have a word with somebody who's very upset about the Madden cover. Okay. There's a lot of people, if you just go open your eyes online, there are definitely a lot of people upset about Caleb Williams being on the cover. What do they want? Who do they want instead? Probably Stafford or, you know, I mean, which I get it. He was the MVP. I don't know who else they want.
1:00:18PFT Commenter:and then there's the Madden freaks who are like he's only a 90 overall I think Vince Young was maybe the only other one who's been lower than that and being on the cover whatever he's electric and I think he's a good young ambassador for the game obviously I'm biased but we went to the Madden event tonight and it was a lot of fun PFT do you think people still do you think there's people who like there are a lot of people who still hate kill Williams I just didn't see anybody that was mad about it and I was trying to put myself in the shoes of somebody that would get angry about somebody being on the Madden cover and I was having a hard time uh making myself feel insane enough to do that I yeah I listen people are passionate about Madden there are definitely some people who are upset about Caleb Williams being on the cover Zach you saw it you cover cover Madden's like a contentious thing like there's there's guys who say things they have no business saying over the cover of which athlete's going to be on Madden.
1:01:18Yeah. Not to say that's right or wrong, but definitely a discourse on that.
1:01:22PFT Commenter:Yeah. I mean, listen, I think anyone who's on the Madden cover is probably going to get some criticism, but Caleb also is a little bit of a lightning rod. I think that's fair to say. Wouldn't you guys agree? Yeah. Yeah. There are a lot of people that don't like him. Yeah. But we went to the Madden event. Zach crushed it. He got to talk to a bunch of guys, got to talk to Caleb. It was a lot of fun. And Zach, what was your big takeaway? That was a lot of fun. Big takeaway. Okay, it was very charismatic. The mascots, too. Love seeing those guys. They were running the gauntlet. Didn't see that coming.
1:01:56That was pretty sick. Yeah, honestly, it was kind of packed in there. They had the game ripping on one side, and they just kind of had guys coming in and out, just kind of flowing. Everybody's talking mad and talking ball. It was a good time. Yeah, which of the mascots were there?
1:02:10PFT Commenter:Otto was there. Bucky was there. The Spartan, Michigan State Spartan. I think Indiana's mascot was there. Who else was there, Zach? We had everybody that ran to Conlet. Badger was there. Yeah, I think that's most of who was there. Yeah, Albert the alligator. It was a good time. So, yeah, Zach interviewed a bunch of guys, did a great job, wasn't nervous. Well, he was nervous, but he asked good questions. The question of the night, though, that I wanted to share with you guys, and thank you to EA for inviting us because it was a lot of fun. The question of the night was White Sox Dave basically chased down Michael Vick as he was walking across this turf field they put in Navy Pier.
1:03:01PFT Commenter:And Vick was like, yeah, what's up? And he's like, hey, can I ask you a couple questions? And White Sox Dave tried to ask him about his greatest game ever. I think it was the Monday Night Football game. and White Sox Dave accidentally said, your greatest game ever, the Monday Night Football game in 2008. And Michael Vick was like, bro, I was doing something different in 2008. Referring to him being in prison. Yeah, 2008 was not a good year for Michael Vick at all. What year was that? Was that 2011, 2010? I think it was 2010, but it was just, Vick handled it very well. But it was just very funny that White Sox Dave was like, Like, do you remember your best game ever in 2008?
1:03:42PFT Commenter:And Vic was just like, nah, dude, I was not playing ball then. Unless there was like a longest yard type situation that was going on at the time. In which case, I'm sure that would have been electric to watch. But no, I've blocked most of that game out of my memory. It's too painful to even think about. Yeah, yeah. But it was a good night. And yeah, the games look awesome. I'm excited for college football to come back. by the way, Zach, I know you've been thinking about it, but like we have to win a national championship before the new game comes out. Yeah, we can't skip one. We got to lock this in before the game because we're running out of time, really.
1:04:18It's coming up. We got to either get it done. Yeah, we were so close. We were so close last time.
1:04:25PFT Commenter:I had a guy from EA come up to me and he was like, you excited for the new game? I was like, yeah, accept. And he finished my sentence. He was like, yeah, you haven't won a national championship from the last one. I was like, fuck, man. That's tough. How far did we make it? I made it to the championship game, Zach? Yes. Maybe next week. We just got to do it with Oregon, I feel like. Sadiq. Yeah, if we just put the ball in Sadiq's hand, I think we can get it done. He's our best. He's our best. He's a tank. So how was the dap with Caleb? Were you nervous going into it? Did you practice? Did you rehearse it?
1:05:00PFT Commenter:No. No. I mean, I just said, what's up to him? I mean, there was a couple of them. There was a goodbye one and a hello one. Yeah, it was totally normal. I mean, we met him before. Yeah, but the dap was like three stages. Was it crisp? What was it? Yeah, it was good. It was just a little half hug. yeah because that zach did something that shocked me the other day with adapt which is upon like clasping hands and slapping he turns it immediately into a finger gun like as he's holding your hand and that that will intimidate somebody that was a shocking move on zach's part it maybe like a point maybe not a weapon maybe just like a point and if it was a weapon it wasn't loaded so nothing to worry about there that's good yeah no i i mean caleb's the man And we've, yeah, we've met him.
1:05:50PFT Commenter:So I didn't think it was going to, I wasn't too nervous about it. And he was very, very nice. And I mean, listen, right. I went up, we went up to him, said what up. And I was like, Hey, I got a couple of guys who got questions for you. And I sent him Zach and White Sox, Dave. So he deserves all the credit in the world for standing in the pocket on that one. And then he had to talk to Jay. So like Caleb is, should win a Nobel prize for having me sending a wave. Zach you're probably not in this but sending a wave of White Sox Dave and Shea at someone that's borderline torture. Did you have a favorite question Zach?
1:06:29On the entire evening or to Caleb? To Caleb. I thought Eddie had a very good question when he asked about the Summer Smash because we got a little sneak peek into what Caleb's been listening to. He said a lot of Chief Keefe lost sexy red. Nice. I didn't do that one but it was a great question.
1:06:45PFT Commenter:What about your favorite question of the night? uh it was fun uh talked a little bit of fishing with michael vick and also talked a little bit mcdonald's with uh ochocinco oh hell yes did you tell him your order i didn't tell him mine i got his and then it we we had him quick so it was see that i showed up late so that's i wish i had been there for that because i would have made you say your order he he had some solid orders he's going filet of fish for lunch a little oatmeal for breakfast he's doing the hot cake platter too Listen, I had McDonald's my kids last day of school today. We got McDonald's as a treat.
1:07:18PFT Commenter:It was fun. It was a great time. Max, why did you keep picking your ears during this recording? Do you have something in your ears? I don't know, man. Did anyone notice that? He just had like a full thing down his ear halfway through this. Is it a pen? I thought it was a Q-tip. Imagine talking sometimes the ADD kicks in he's liable to fill it I didn't even know that I did that I need to be doing something at some point when nothing's happening so I just start doing things you were fucking your ear for a second there that's not something that someone's like hey I need to be doing something let me go put P &E live on a show I'm not I was not live.
1:08:12PFT Commenter:Was that a pen? You penetrated yourself. You are live, Max. I may as well have been backstage. I was saying nothing. You're live right now. But that's because I was forced to be live. Yeah, because you fucking put a pen halfway through your brain. That's not true. Okay. All right. You're a big hockey guy. You break down what happened to Stanley Cup final tonight. I don't know. The Flyers are out. Fact. Max, I'll give you one sports question. Have you – you're a big baseball guy. Have you ever seen anyone lose the ball in the lights like PCA tonight? I do have something with PCA. He has turned into, like, the most hated guy on baseball Twitter, and I don't really understand.
1:09:04It's crazy. He's turned into the new Aaron Judge, but Aaron Judge makes sense because it's like the Red Sox fans doing like, oh, and Aaron Judge hits a walk-off home run into the night, and it's a strike three. PCA is the new Aaron Judge of people love to shit on PCA when he does something bad.
1:09:23PFT Commenter:People despise him. And now PCA has had quotes, and that's part of his personality, which I love. He likes to antagonize, but it's crazy how much people hate him. And they won't post that he had the walk-off tonight. He had the walk-off hit. So the Cubs came back and finally won a game. But I was at the game. I've never seen it. He had no idea where the ball was. Inside the park home run is so demoralizing, too. I think the lights at Wrigley are tough to play on, but I don't know. Usually the guys see it at the last second, and they'll miss it. It was 20 feet past them. I don't even know if you – it looked like he wasn't watching the play when it happened.
1:10:05It was like, oh, shit, the ball's in the air. I got no idea where this is. Was anybody else out there helping him out? Like pointing at it? No, it was.
1:10:13PFT Commenter:It was like it just dropped. It dropped so far deep behind him. Like no one. Like they kind of had a play at the plate for the inside part of the home. Right. It was crazy. But then he had to walk off and he had a home run. So listen, they won't. They won't post your winning your wins. They'll only post your losses. That's how it works. Yep. Okay. Let's start with your win a week and a half ago. You shot a 28 on the back nine. That's insane. Have you had a second to be like, what the fuck was that? Were you in the zone? You had to have been in the zone. Yeah, I think that was the definition of the zone. I didn't even know what I was shooting. I just kept making putts. Next thing you know, I looked up, and I'm like, holy smokes, I shot 11-under. Yeah. I actually just read some discourse online the other day.
1:13:18I don't know if you saw this, but there were people saying that it's an unwritten rule amongst PGA players that if you're playing at an away course, like a random country club that you're having a round at, and you're shooting like you did on the back nine, that it's bad form to set the course record there. That a lot of guys will pull up on the last couple holes or just bow out. JT, for the record, said, fuck that, I would try to smash every course record that I can. Is that an actual unwritten rule of the PGA Tour, or is that guy just making stuff up? I think that guy's making stuff up. There are some courses, like Cypress, for instance, that's one of those courses I think the course record 64 I've been like 10 under through 13 holes there and then you kind of like you know hit one in the water or stop counting score or something and say yeah I shot 65 so that you don't do it but on tour screw that I want to beat everybody I don't even care about that stuff yeah I guess I guess that's what I was getting obviously in a tournament you want to set every course record that you can but like so if you're at cypress you were just saying that you would you would intentionally not get the course record there if you were playing there for fun yeah i mean that place there's a few places that you would do that but then i mean there's like less than four i can think of outside of that you would just yeah you try to shoot the course record especially in an iconic place yeah you want to be on the you want to be on the board and everyone goes oh course record shot by window is that just out of respect for the course or what is it about those four places that you would pull up because i I actually think the same thing.
1:14:47Whenever I play, I'm like, I don't want to.
1:14:48PFT Commenter:Yeah, that's what I'm going to start doing. I'm not going to make it about myself. Yeah, I was shooting the course record. Then I intentionally tried to hit it in the water. Yeah. Wait, so you guys have shot course records? Well, no, because we respect. Yeah, I respect the tradition of every course. You don't respect. We respect. Okay, so on the third hole, you respectfully hit it in the water. Correct. If I get a par on the first hole, then I'll be like, I'm kind of on track to be in striking distance of the course record. so I'll just shoot a double on the second one. Yeah, that's smart. You guys respect.
1:15:20PFT Commenter:I respect courses so much I won't even flirt with a course record. I guess you guys respect the game more than me. That's a fact. Good on you. Good on you. What are those four courses that you would respect so much to not shoot a course record? Well, for sure, Cypress is one of them. I think a place like Pine Valley, I'm trying to think of other ones, like maybe a national in New York, kind of like those OG or even like a St. Andrews, just because it was designed so long ago and it was built for maybe that technology in that day. And I think that's why it's a big deal that they're like, hey, it's kind of the course record because in whatever year Bobby Jones or shot this score and that was the best ever.
1:16:05I don't know. I mean, you asked me, I think.
1:16:08PFT Commenter:Yeah. Who cares? All right, so you're in the zone in this back nine, two to 28. So your caddy doesn't tell you like, hey, man, just a heads up, you're fucking crushing it? Or you're just like, hey, we just got to keep rolling? Yeah, no, he better not tell me that. The last thing a caddy wants to do in those moments is get in your way. So really the best thing for a caddy is to just be like, do the same thing over and over again. And then one other thing is to kind of like keep you distracted from the score. so you get focused in on a shot and then like right afterwards he goes oh look at that that's a cute girl over there and then you just kind of like lose track of what's going on and then you come back to the to the present so that that's kind of what a good caddy does rather than being like so intense and then you're looking at leaderboards next you know you're making bogeys or whatever yeah i'd make a terrible caddy because i definitely would have been like hey just heads up dude don't blow this you're fucking killing it right now well good thing you're behind the mic instead of on the bag yes all right so you win it um listen we're we're transparent journalists here uh high level journalism we do on this show we have to talk about your quote um open up some grape what was going is that something you say routinely i'll give you a i'll give you a breakfast ball here i'll give you a mulligan if you're like hey that's not something i usually say it just came out yeah i get it it's weird is that something you say well it was definitely it's something i say but also in in the moment i didn't you know sometimes i'm like is this pc to say that we were just gonna get absolutely sloshed and you can say that yeah you can say that that's way better what you just said you should have said we're gonna get white girl wasted yeah but i don't know about that i was gonna say vino and then i was like grape i mean sometimes you just want some good grape you know yeah i think we got to get that out of the lexicon i don't know do you find yourself saying in vino veritas and like having a a satisfied chuckle a lot i've never said that okay good that's good normally i just say let's get fucked up okay there we go that works or or here's here's one and this might be crazy you might be like that's way too nuts to say but like what about i'm gonna go drink some wine i mean would you want to go party with me if i said Let's have some wine.
1:18:23Well, I would definitely more than open up some grape. Yeah, but then you'd be intrigued. Like, what's this grape he's talking about? Let's go see this wine. Okay. All right. Let's talk about it. Because it seems like you're a man that knows his grape. So what varietals are we talking about when you're saying, I'm going to open up some grape? I mean, it is old world Italian or French, and you're getting as bougie as it gets, and you're getting white girl wasted. Okay. Okay.
1:18:48PFT Commenter:All right. Yeah. All right. I'm coming back around to the open up some grape. But when I saw it, we did trash you on the show a little bit because we're like, what was that? What even? You know what? Here's the thing is if I just said I'm going to drink some wine, you wouldn't be talking about it. So I said, oh, great. Look at this. Any press is good press, right? That's a good point. You might get like wine sponsorship out of it, too. Yeah. Maybe not, but maybe buy a grape juice company or something. Yeah. Make some transfusions, whatever you need. Welch is great. Yeah. You got some. Yeah. What if you just pull out some fruit snacks right after?
1:19:20Actually, I was talking about transfusions, not wine. Yeah. There you go. There you go. That would be a good one. Are you a superstitious guy when it comes to golf? I'm a little stitious. I'm not superstitious. What are your superstitions? Okay. One of them is I black out the number on the ball because I don't want it. Let's say you bury the first four holes and you're using a number two ball, right? And then your caddy throws you a new ball and it's a three. you're like i'm gonna throw off the mojo so i black out all the numbers so i don't know i also believe if a ball is hot keep the ball hot even if it's messed up i just keep like the back nine yeah i didn't change a ball um in at the barn else even though it was like torn to pieces and i was like it doesn't matter this ball knows where it's going and it's going home yeah so that's probably one of them and then more just like routines i do the same routine all the time But, you know, it's nothing like I don't wash my underwear or wear my socks inside out.
1:20:20Right. Yeah. The routine that's more like good golf. And I saw you talking about your driver and figuring out that element of your game. If you're I'm not very good at golf, but I do like to play. I find myself when I tee off, if I hit a bad tee shot, my next tee shot, I mean, I try to change what I just did wrong after that first one. do you if you like leak a couple to the right on your first couple tee shots are you then trying to actively like correct for that on your next shot are you just trying to go back to zero back to what your normal everyday stock shot is yeah no i mean for sure if you if you slice the first two balls you're like okay what am i doing and then let's say you're thinking about it and you try something different on now the third shot and you still slice it there comes a point where you're like all right i just got to play the slice today but there's also sometimes where the front nine you hit it like crap and then you find like a good feeling or whatever and then on the back nine you stripe it so that's the one good thing about i'd say at this level so many guys are able to adjust on the fly and whether that's they fix their swing mid-round or they just say screw it i'm slicing it today i'm gonna play the slice yeah yeah fixing it mid-round that's because you can over fix and you can go the opposite way and now you've got a new problem to solve and then you're just in hell.
1:21:33At that point you gotta open up some grape at the turn and just try to wipe the memory and move forward. I can't say I've ever had some, I've never had wine on a golf course. It's always been John Daly's or Marg's or something. It's never been. Wine kind of puts you to sleep, right? Yeah, wine on a
1:21:54PFT Commenter:golf course would be weird. They'll make Franzia golf bags. Yeah, I got a dumb question for you because you're talking about like, you know, fixing a shot in the tee box or, you know, working on your game. You obviously have coaches. You go through all this stuff. But is there ever a moment where you just like happen upon like a YouTube video or like an Instagram reel and you're like, oh, I should try this? Oh, I am the worst at that. A hundred percent. I buy more training aids. That's awesome. Off of Instagram or Amazon things. It's embarrassing. Like I'll reach out to it just happened. I reached out to this alignment company.
1:22:28They have these certain alignment rods with like a face thing. And I reached out and said, hey, I'd love to try this. And the guy's like, oh, my gosh, is this actually you? I can't believe you want to try this. I do that stuff all the time. I just bought tees on Amazon. Like we get tees for free. But I thought these certain tees would be better. So, yeah, we do that stuff. Wait, what are the tees? I want these tees. Well, they're kind of the ones Aaron Rye uses, but they're step tees. So they only go on the ground a certain amount, and they're the same every time. So for driver, it's always teed up the same.
1:22:57So you're not, you know, it's one less variable.
1:22:59PFT Commenter:I like that. So that's very relatable of you because I always assume with the amount of money you guys put into your game and the coaches, you wouldn't fall for like the Instagram, you know, because once you get one of them, you just end up getting all of them. Like I'm just in the algorithm where it's every trick possible. And then a new box shows up my house. I'm like, what? I don't even remember buying this. Well, there's one constant in golf is all of us are messed up in the head. So what you guys deal with, we deal with, it's just at a different level. So, yeah, we see something that we think might help.
1:23:30I'm 100 % trying it. Yeah. And you said that you're an equipment-free agent, and you said it's like a girlfriend and you've been dating a lot but with golf clubs. So what's that like? Is that fun being out there or is it kind of scary? Well, it's just like when you first become single, it's a lot of fun. and then after a while you're like man i miss having my constant you know yeah great great person always there for you so now i'm in that like i'm honed in i like where i'm at we're at home base but for a while yeah it's fun to date around and see what's going on did you have like a rebound club like a wild one that you just want to try out because it just looked like it'd be fun oh yeah i mean i tried every driver under the sun i tried every putter multiple multiple things i I'd even know I was using this certain club, and then on the Monday, Tuesday, I'd go flirt around with some other putters and then come back to home base.
1:24:24You're always kind of looking and seeing what's out there.
1:24:28PFT Commenter:Okay, along those lines, this is also a dumb question, but you have a girlfriend and you hard-launched your relationship. Is that something you talk about before? Like, hey, are we going to hard-launch, or is it just, hey, you idiots, like we've been seeing each other and we finally posted a picture. like can everyone just relax yeah so it's funny in that she was like I go we're gonna you know you're gonna be catting for it she goes wow this is like a big step everyone's gonna know about us and I said yeah I don't care I'm crazy about you let's I don't care and then I didn't realize how big of a deal it is to hard launch yeah in general and then let alone at the master so there was definitely some you know some good things and some backlash and so but you know we're we were such a new relationship and it went so fast that everyone was like what i didn't even know you guys were even talking to each other that's because you should have soft launched you should have soft launched what it's a soft i think it's like you like uh like in the background of a picture of hers you know and they're like is that wyndham clark and then it's the soft launch and then it's the hard launch i think it's a picture you holding a you know what it is it's a picture of your grape so you're out to dinner you got your wine glasses and in the background there's a second wine yeah yeah okay i see that yeah that makes sense or it's like her like having lunch and like there's just some random uh tease that might be aaron rise or might be yours just sitting right next to her plate so people are like is it aaron rye or is it windham we don't know yeah that's a soft launch i just laugh every time i see a hard launch i'm like well i i guess it's they're just dating like what what's the big deal with the hardest launch i think would be like if she was caddying for you in the par three tournament that's what you did right was she did yeah wait no shit that is the hardest yes i thought it was just a picture of you guys yeah no you can't hard she was on your bag that's how you announced to the world yeah on my bag we kissed and we took a picture and posted it i mean it was about as hard as it gets but i also wanted the world to know yeah just like the golf clubs i'm off the market yeah no more flirting yeah more messing around yeah yeah but i because for our dumb brains we think like you guys started dating on that day yeah like that's day one for you even though i'm sure you have a relationship that's been put in place we're so stupid that we're like oh it's brand new girlfriend well it was maybe the second or third date but i thought you know what might as well go big and what a flex to be like hey uh i got this little tournament going on in augusta you want to be on my bag the best thing the best thing about that is i told her she had to hit a shot you know and so she's freaking out like practicing beforehand and we get on the first tee because she's never really watched she's not a golfer she's never watched it so we get on the first tee and i'm like okay your turn to hit and like you know it's just lined with fans and she goes no i'm not hitting i i'm gonna kill somebody and then gary woodland and keegan are like no emily it's your turn you gotta go hit and she totally bought it she's like i'm not doing this and you know obviously then we told her we hit on the ninth hole, but it was, uh, that it was a fun day, but yeah, she, she was freaking out because she thought she was going to one, have a hard launch and then to be on like not top 10 by killing somebody.
1:27:38Yeah.
1:27:38PFT Commenter:Is it, is it, uh, cause we always talk about like different eras when it comes to sports. Like I feel like this is the best time to be a golfer. Golfers are cool. Like, you know, 20 years ago, Tiger was cool, but the other guys he was playing against weren't necessarily cool, but right now it feels like golfers are cool and got some swag. I mean, I think so. What do you think? Am I kind of cool? Yeah, well, except for the grape thing. Except for the grape thing. Yeah, that was when we were like, I don't know about this guy. But other than that, you're cool. Okay, thank you. Golf is cool. I will say it's COVID helped.
1:28:11And then obviously now guys like Steph Curry and LeBron James and other artists and rappers and celebrities are all doing it that everyone's like, oh, maybe golf's cool.
1:28:21PFT Commenter:Hank Lockwood. Yeah, like all these guys. Hank Lockwood. Yeah. Yeah. Have you seen him go lefty? He's going lefty. He's taking the world by storm. It's our producer. I didn't know this. Yeah. He switched up his entire game. Yeah. He went righty his whole life, and now he's just playing lefty for a whole year. Some people might say that he's been a left-handed golfer. It's just kind of shocking that he was so dumb that he didn't realize he was left-handed until recently. I would not say that. I like to think he perfected the game righty. He's like, I need a challenge. No. Unfortunately, we know that's not the case.
1:28:53yeah speaking of so you're talking about your uh your girlfriend hitting that shot or lying to her about like hey yeah now it's your turn to hit when the gallery's right there i saw a video of you i think it was at the pga championship they brought the gallery like really close on one of your shots and you almost took somebody out like it looked it looked pretty dangerous for them i've always wondered about that like do they just what is it about golf galleries that make them think that they're invincible to golf balls like they stand so close sometimes to where you're going to hit yeah oh it's it's it's insane now i will say like in that instance i had a lie that was i don't think the people realized how bad it was i mean the ball went dead left i've never hit a wedge dead left and it was terrifying because i people were seven eight feet from me and it could have taken someone's head off but the craziest thing with us we don't hit too many shanks and miss miss off client but when we're on the pro-ams people will treat the amateurs we're playing with as if we're tour pros and they'll be like make a tunnel and i go this guy literally yeah there's a 15 handicap you don't know what he's gonna do but yeah i don't know they just think we never miss which is complete fallacy we miss all the time yeah yeah can i play a little game with you real quick
1:30:06PFT Commenter:yeah it's called uh hardest you've hit something so t shot how what's the what's the farthest you've hit one or hardest you've hit one oh boy i know this is going um i've hunt her actually this year I went like 430 on the 10th hole in Tampa. Okay. I hit a car path, but it went 430 yards. That was pretty hard. Okay. What about a nine iron? I don't know, like 180, 180 yards. Since you know where it's going, what about like a locker? I knew where it was going. Yeah. I mean, I've hit one pretty hard multiple times. Yeah. I don't know what I'm saying. By the way, I know that golf, there's a lot of rules, and we get it.
1:30:55PFT Commenter:There's respect to the court stuff. I always laugh because these guys are insanely competitive, high stakes. Yes, emotions will sometimes spill over. That's part of – everyone has had a freak out before. Everyone's had a bad moment. I mean, you pieced up that locker. I mean, what I did was wrong, and I want to preface it with that. But, you know, if people are going to say golfers are athletes, well, other athletes do that in other sports, too. And that's, you know, I'm not saying it's a good thing, but the emotions get to us in our sport just as much as other ones. It was unfortunate that I did it and then it was leaked and all that stuff.
1:31:34But, you know, it's the motions. I don't know. I like to think that, you know, we care. We do. This is our livelihood. And I was frustrated and, you know, made a dumb decision. But at the same time, it's like I care and I wanted to do well and I didn't. And, you know, we're in the limelight in golf. You can't show emotion or that's kind of the stigma. And so I try to do it behind closed doors. And obviously it resulted in a terrible thing.
1:32:01PFT Commenter:Listen, if you do it again, here's a little tip. Just show up to your next press conference with like a neck brace and be like, yeah, the locker fought back. Like, and then everyone would be like, all right, I guess he learned his lesson. I should have done that. That's smart. Yeah, it's like in a weird way, it's almost a sign of respect for the course. The course kicked my ass so hard that I had no choice but to physically fight it at the end. Yes, exactly. I'll see you in the parking lot course. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe next time instead of hitting locker, I'll punch the bunker or something. Yeah. But seriously, when it happened, obviously you're embarrassed and you apologize.
1:32:42PFT Commenter:But like this is sports and also like when we talk about sports and cover sports, people showing their human side makes it better in terms of the long run where it's like, yeah, this guy's a regular guy. We all make no one's perfect. I don't want the perfect athlete. I want the athlete who can be like, yes, some days I have bad days. Some days I have great days because the bad days make the great days even better. Oh, 100 percent. I appreciate you saying that because, yeah, last year was terrible and what I did was terrible. And it was just all in all a bad year. but then I get kind of the redemption and win and, you know, hard launch with my girlfriend.
1:33:16Yep. I'm a free agent with clubs, and now I win a tournament. Things, you know, things turn for the better. Things are going good, and now you've got, I mean, last year it was tough. The Oakmont setup was, it was rough for a lot of golfers, and then this year you've got Shinnecock for the U.S. Open. It feels like they're, like, this course is going to be out for blood. Have you taken mental reps of losing a ball in three inches of just dense ass rough that's one foot off the fairway? Have you thought about how to handle what promises to be a really infuriating course that you're going to have to deal with?
1:33:53Yeah, instead of hitting lockers, I've worked on going to my car, getting in the car, turning the keys, and driving away. Nice. That's what I've worked on. Nice. That's good. Do you need any tips?
1:34:03PFT Commenter:I shot a 72 at Shinnecock. Oh, no way. Really? Well, no, I found this hack for golf. You should try it. You can shoot whatever you want. You just need a scorecard and a pencil. Oh, yeah, so you have a good eraser. Yeah. No, I didn't even erase. I just wrote down what I wanted. I thought I should have a five there, so I'm just going to write a five. Yeah. No, I actually, like, I think I quit on, like, seven of the holes and just would just put, you know, par. And then at the end, I added it all up, and I had a 72. It's pretty nice. You count the strokes you took. So if you took four shots and then you picked it up, that's a four.
1:34:38I wish we could do that on tour. It would be nice. I'd shoot 59 or 60 every time. Do you have a history with this course? Like what has your game been like at Shinnecock? I've never played a tournament there. I went and played actually the Sunday before Byron Nelson. The golf course is very good, very tough. Yeah, I mean it's going to be, like you said, a bloodbath. In a different way than Oakmont. Oakmont was kind of high rough. and really penal bunkers and really long. This course is maybe not as long, but the greens are like crazy epic and you can hit it to 12 feet and you think, wow, what a shot, and guys might three putt because there's so much slope.
1:35:20So it's going to be definitely test people mentally for sure.
1:35:24PFT Commenter:Is that a sneaky awesome part of being a professional golfer that you can play anywhere? Like you just have to call and you can play? Are there any places? you don't have to name names because we want to put them on blast but are like sorry we know you're uh you know a u.s open champion but we're not going to let you play yeah um i mean definitely one of the best perks of being a pro is you can play essentially anywhere um that is yeah for sure the handwritten greatest thing um there let me think there are some places that i'd have to play with a member where they're like we can't just have you come out and play but then typically if when they ask members like, oh, so-and-so PGA Tour player wants to come out, members are like, yeah, I'd love to play with them.
1:36:07So there really isn't a place we can't go, which is pretty cool. That's awesome. What are you thinking for this U.S. Open? What does success look like? For me, it would be a lot of fairways and staying below the hole at Shinnecock. And I tell you what, if I have a chance to win on the back nine, that would be success for me. Just be in contention at that point. There's nothing better than being in contention, especially at a major championship. And just being in those moments, you feel the intensity of the fans, the cameras, everyone's watching, and there's just nothing like it. It's so much fun, the adrenaline rush.
1:36:47And at that point, it's like you against your mind and being able to pull off the shots when you need to. Yeah, and I read that you've got a new caddy, but this is more about your former caddy. I believe our friend Max Homa has picked him up. Did Max call you? Like, is that a reference thing where it's like, hey, what do you think about this guy? And then what do you tell him? No, I actually, I had no idea. I mean, I found out kind of when everyone else found out. But, you know, when John and I went separate ways, I just said, hey, I hope you get the best bag possible. like there's no hard feelings if if you're going to work with someone right away or if it's in six months or if it's never and um so i'm happy for him i mean max is one of my buddies obviously john's one of my closest friends so i hope they have success do you is it like being in a relationship
1:37:40PFT Commenter:where like every now and then late at night you'll like scroll max's instagram pictures and just be like oh that's they look happy yeah he looks like he's doing okay well they haven't started yet okay they haven't started hard launch yet yeah they haven't hard lunch yet but what i will say john caddy for tony for like four weeks and the first week we played where he was caddying and i was playing the event i saw john over there and it was kind of like oh yeah yeah man he looks good yeah yeah i miss i miss that guy yeah like i don't know if it's if max broke the code i a call would have been nice maybe right like heads up is it cool if I like we seem to hit it off yeah is that all right with you you guys cool with that I'm not a sloppy seconds guy but I'll treat him with respect no no no it's Max there's yeah he was fine it's no big deal yeah if he called that would be I think above and beyond and that would have just been I would have been like well you didn't need to call but it's no big deal honestly yeah it's great I just hope they have success Wyndham Clark is being brought to you by aura frames we'll get back to more with him in a second, but the aura frames will show you the moments where your dad tells the stories.
1:38:51Now, here's what I'll tell you about aura frames. I got an aura frame for my mom for Christmas a couple years ago. It's her favorite gift. She's got it right out there in the living room. I went over to visit her a couple months ago, walked in the door. First thing I saw popped up on that aura frame. It was me and Jerry O 'Connell in the back of the El Camino. That's one of the pictures that she has up there. It's a great, great gift to give to a mom, to a dad. It's Father's Day coming up. Show that you listen to your dad or your husband or your partner's go-to stories. This Father's Day, preload an AuraFrame with his memories of his go-to stories.
1:39:22So the next time he starts a sentence with back in my day, there are photos right there for reference. Add as many photos and videos as you want. You can keep adding from anywhere, anytime. If you're the kind of guy or gal that likes to play occasional prank on your pops, guess what? AuraFrame, probably good for that too. Load some pictures up there and then put that embarrassing picture of him getting hit in the head with an egg doing the family reunion outing. Put that up there. Put something up there that he'll get a chuckle out of. It reached number one in the app store on Christmas Day in 2025.
1:39:55You can download that free Aura app or you can text the photos over straight from your frame so you can upload your pictures right to your dad's photo frame. It's an awesome gift. 1:40:32PFT Commenter:Brooks? Because he's one of our good, good friends. Are we good? Because we don't want to have to dead you. dude we've never been bad in my thing that i said i even went up to brooks i was like brooks i wasn't saying anything towards you i was just saying more towards the live guys brooks is my boy too there's nothing nothing bad with brooks okay i went up to him and i apologized he's like dude i didn't think twice about it his caddy ricky was like we get it like no big deal yeah i actually saw your comments i didn't think anything either you're just like yeah that like i wish i could have got a lot of money and then come right back too like everyone does that's all i said and i I'm like, yeah, sorry.
1:41:08I'm jealous of him. I'm glad he went and got paid, and now he has to come back and play against us.
1:41:12PFT Commenter:Is that an annoyance of knowing that when you're doing media, especially with the live stuff where it's like when that was hot, every single thing gets completely microscope, like every comment, every face, like even guys' faces would get, you know, oh, look how he answered this question. That had to kind of suck for a little bit there. Oh, for sure. I mean, we were on like, you know, everyone had stuff where like, don't say this, don't say that. You can't do this. And you're like, oh, my gosh. And then after a while, some guys would just say it because they're like, I'm sick of talking about this.
1:41:46And, you know, some guys would even not even do pressers because they're like, I know what it's going to be about. I don't want to talk about it. I will say I have to, you know, thankfully for what they did, they helped all of us. I mean, our purses, golf's in a better spot. I mean, it's, yeah. So I'd say early on it bothered me a ton. And now, obviously, that maybe Liv isn't going to be anymore. Like, I don't know. I think at the end of the day it worked out how it was supposed to work out. And, you know, the PGA Tour and golf is going to really benefit from it.
1:42:18PFT Commenter:Yeah, it's kind of like, you know, we're big football fans. Like the XFL, when it came on the scene, like the NFL took some stuff from the XFL. Like they got, you know, the Spider Cam and whatever. Like there's things that were adapted. It's like, yeah, okay. The NFL got better from it. Why did the PGA tour take on the shorts though? Yeah. Like, is that something you've, do you want shorts? No, I don't want shorts. It's like, imagine if baseball stopped wearing the, the, the, you know, the pants, it's just like what you wear. Right. And I, I don't know. It's our uniform. We don't have a uniform in golf, but it's our uniform.
1:42:48And how are you supposed to tell a difference between, you know, Joe Schmo, the caddy and us, like the pants are like, no, one's going to wear pants on a hundred degree day. except for the tour pro because that's his uniform. What about the team aspect? Was there a live team that you found yourself more gravitated towards? Were you a four aces guy? Honestly, I would have been on Brooks' team. Brooks and I were boys. Taylor Gooch and I went to college together. I would have been on that team. Smash. Yeah, smash. Yeah, we would have been smashing. Yeah.
1:43:21PFT Commenter:This is a random fact that I saw about you. You went to high school to Christian McCaffrey. you played on the same basketball team for a couple years? Yeah, so his brother and I were on the team together, and then we played against each other growing up. The way it worked in high school is we weren't – when I quit basketball, he was a freshman. So we didn't actually play physically on the same team. But we had all the same friends. His brother is one of my good buddies. Which brother? Max. Okay. So when you were in high school and he was coming up, was everyone like, this kid is just – I mean, obviously his dad, everyone knows, but still like he seems like a guy who is just a freak athlete from like five years on.
1:44:01Oh, yeah. So I didn't play football past eighth grade. My dad never let me play tackle, so I never really played against Christian. But in basketball, I remember we had halftime and like we came I came out early and was just grabbing something. And I sat on the bench to wait for some of the other guys. And I remember they let the kid, you know, in high school basketball, they let the kids come out and like shoot on the hoop during halftime. And Christian in like seventh or eighth grade was dunking, dunking the basketball. And I'm like, oh, my God, you know, who is this kid? Yeah. So and I knew, you know, I knew him at the time, but I was like, holy smokes.
1:44:37And then, you know, then as I was a junior, senior and Christian was actually playing, I mean, he was the fastest, most physical guy on the court, whether he was a freshman or senior. and you could just tell everyone knew they're like holy smokes that guy's different yeah what about luke mccaffrey were there any stories about luke growing up like hey this guy might even be better athlete than christian well luke was so young like i mean luke was when i was 16 luke was nine or eight so we couldn't quite tell but if you were to ask anyone kind of in the family c-mac and and luke were kind of the two best best athletes for sure yeah yeah uh zach do you have any questions for Wyndham?
1:45:15How are we doing, Wyndham? I did have a quick golf question that was cool with you. Yeah, of course. You know, to maybe try to simplify the game for guys who don't have hardware like yourself, if you were told like at your next major, look, listen, gentlemen, only one club out the bag for the rest of the tournament, what are we reaching for? Like, what's the go-to? I mean, everyone kind of always says a seven iron, one club. Yeah, I mean, you can hook a seven iron, you can hit it soft. Yeah, I mean, a seven iron, it's like the easiest club to hit and you can do a lot with it.
1:45:42PFT Commenter:Yeah. Good question, Zach. You had a follow-up? Yeah. A quick one for you. When you're this good at golf, are you still able to go out and kind of play with old friends or is the skill gap just kind of unmanageable? Like it just doesn't make sense logistically. Are you still going out there? I know it's your job, but are we shooting around with the boys or is that not really something that makes sense? Oh, no. I mean, the greatest thing about golf is the handicap system. So I can go play with my boys that shoot in the 80s, but then they get enough strokes where it's really competitive. So I play with the boys all the time.
1:46:13My guys at Wisp Rock, I just played with them all leading up to this event. Thunder Dan Marley always plays with us and other pros, and it's a blast. I mean, we set the strokes, we go out, we play, and I don't win every time. They'll beat me sometimes. So it's a lot of fun. That's the great thing about golf.
1:46:31PFT Commenter:What's the worst golfer you've played with in the last, like, three years? Would you play with, like, a 110 guy? I mean that's that's tough I I'm not going to name the athlete but I uh their agent reached out to my agent and was like hey would you want to play a so-and-so and I was like sick I actually really like that guy he's a great athlete um you know is he into golf and like oh he just picked it up and I said I think I'm gonna have to pass ah because it's just tough there's a certain level I would say above a hundred it can just kind of be tough because you're like always looking for golf balls and I don't know.
1:47:08I mean I know that might sound bad but it just we do it so much that you're like do I really want to be looking for balls all day?
1:47:16PFT Commenter:So would you say like when Devin Booker hits you back up in a couple years would you then play with him? It wasn't Devin Booker. It wasn't Devin Booker. Good guess though. But you weren't like wondering to yourself maybe LeBron will tell me if he's going to retire or not. You guys were just trying to ask. I'm not going to say who it is. I'm not going to say who it is. But he might be he might be a wide receiver but I'm not going to say Puka Nakua Marvin Harrison Jr. why wouldn't you play with him I plead the fifth like Cooper Cup I know he's thinking about retiring soon too but he's got a decent amount of time on it it's the off season interesting it's not Adam Thielen because Adam Thielen is really good he is really good yeah we've had him on a couple times he's very good I have a real question for you so you know you guys make golf, when we're watching, it's so fun to watch, but you also make it look easy because you're so, so good.
1:48:11PFT Commenter:Coming up and going to Q school and all that stuff, was there a moment that you were like, I don't know if I can do this? Because it is the hardest game. And I'm always curious about guys who reach the highest level. If there was a crossroads moment where you're like, I think I might be done. Well, I will say I was almost naive and it was like ignorance is bliss. I got through school and my first year on corn fairy or it was web at the time got through with like a breeze and then i got to the pga tour had a pretty good first year and then i had kind of a sophomore slump if you will and it was like holy shit if i go back down like i don't know if i'll ever get back up because you almost don't realize how difficult it is when you just get through it that easily and that was kind of that moment like i never want to go back down right and you know there's great players that it took them three, four, five, six years to finally get their card.
1:49:04And then when they finally got it, they were world beers. And I'm like, I do not want to go back. So that was kind of my moment that I didn't want to go back to the minors. Yeah. Have you ever had the S word? A shame. Have you had, but like the disease? I don't want to say it. No, I've never had the disease. I kind of live on the toe. And so because of that, I don't hit. I actually hit a shank today. It was pretty funny on the range, and I laughed. He laughed it off, and then he moved on. But you've never had a time where you've shown up, and you're just like, I just don't have it today. I just can't hit a ball solid.
1:49:40No, I've never had that. That's awesome. Knock on wood. Hopefully, I don't ever have it. That and the yips, I hope I never have.
1:49:47PFT Commenter:Don't think about that next time you're out on the range. I tried not to say it. Thanks for bringing it up. I tried not to say it. It's pretty awesome that you're so good at golf that you hit a shank, and then you laughed. Yeah. Like, what else are you going to do? Are you going to get mad and then, you know, you just like, you know, push it away and go, whatever, it doesn't even happen. Yeah. Yeah. So going to, you went to Oklahoma State, right? Yeah. And Oregon. What's it about Oklahoma State that makes like a lot of good golfers want to play golf in Oklahoma? I mean, honestly, I have no idea.
1:50:24It started a long time ago with Coach Holder where he just created this atmosphere of, hey, this is a golf school. And they were one of the first schools with their own golf course, the best facilities. And then it just kept breeding great golfers. And now it's, I mean, it's the school to go to for golf. They win championships kind of every five to seven years. I kind of went also because of the coach at the time, coach Mike McGraw. He's one of the best coaches now on Bratton's there. And so I just think the combination of the history, the facilities, and then the fact that they're going to do anything they can to win in golf and golf there has been cool for a long time.
1:50:58You know, like it was a big deal that you were on the golf team. Conversely, like other schools, they're like, oh, we have a golf team, you know? And so it was cool there. Yeah, and plus you get all the merch with Pete as a golfer. I like how they have Pete playing all the different sports at Oklahoma State. They started that. Swing and Pete was the first – they were the first ones to do that for golf. Now everyone kind of has like – Alabama has the swinging elephant and, you know, everyone has something. But Pistol Pete, Swing and Pete was the first one.
1:51:26PFT Commenter:Yeah. So I saw that you're thinking about launching a mental health app. How does that work? And can we do it for podcasting? Yeah, you can. So the great thing about this is it's called Unlock. And it's like kind of a mental performance app. So let's just say, I'll use me as an example. I do all the onboarding. And why do you want to use this app? And you'd be like, okay, well, I struggle to perform under pressure. And I get a little anxious in these moments. And then it will basically feed you into the procedure and stuff that they want you to do through AI. So AI will then become your performance coach where it will give you things to read, meditations to do, daily goals to focus on, and then track all of your information in your journal.
1:52:14And then at the end, it will, you know, over time track stuff and you'll see hopefully tons of benefits. And then it's also kind of like a social networking where you bring awareness to mental health and more people can talk about it. So if you struggle with broadcasting, which you don't, you do a great job.
1:52:30PFT Commenter:Thank you. You could talk with him and be like, hey, you know what? I'm starting to get nervous doing this. And it's something that could help you and send you information. And then other people might say, hey, this actually helped me in these moments. And so it's a pretty cool it's a pretty cool thing and hoping to launch next year with a bunch of other athletes. and hopefully it's something that everyone can use. I feel like that's something I need for NFL Sunday in the gambling cave here. That would be nice. Yeah. You get in there and say, okay, hopefully I meditate and choose the right picks.
1:53:01Yeah. Yeah. I could use – listen, I'll try anything to perfect that game. Just hit reset on your Sunday. Just center yourself real quick. Yeah. Center yourself and be like, okay, yeah, I've missed the last 12 picks and I'm down 5 ,000, but, hey, it's going to come back and we're going to switch it around. That's cool, though.
1:53:17PFT Commenter:The mental health aspect, I mean, it's cool that we're in a time, especially in pro sports, where guys feel open talking about it because it is such a huge part of the game, especially golf. Like, I don't understand. You guys are mental warriors. I don't understand how you're able to keep that focus shot in, shot out when the pressure just gets so high. Oh, yeah. I mean, it's truly the toughest game mentally. You know, other ones, you almost don't have time to think about it. Like in basketball, you miss a shot. Now you got to get back on defense. Well, in golf, you have two, three, four minutes before you hit another shot.
1:53:53And you're just in your head, you know, like mad or distracted or whatever it is. And you got to be able to come back to ground zero. And then you can't show emotion. And so then it just makes it even tougher. So it's definitely tough mentally.
1:54:07PFT Commenter:That would be funny if your mental health app did have like a, like when it takes in all your data and every now and then it spits out being like, you got to break a locker like this is the only way you're going to feel better we'll put that in the suggestion box i don't know how good that would go yeah it's like once once every few years like it can't you can't get to that level like easily but every now and then it'd be like hey we've prescribed you one locker here's where you can go just go fucking smash it you get a pillow just be that's shaped like a locker that looks like a locker yeah there you go now we're talking yeah yeah um all right i got one last question it's a rowback question R-H-O-B-A-C-K.com, promo code TAKE.
1:54:46PFT Commenter:20 % off your first purchase. Q-Zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts, roback.com, promo code TAKE. We actually have Hank stepped in here. Hank, we brought you up earlier. Hank, do you have any questions for Wyndham about your game? He didn't believe that you – he actually went to Wyndham's credit. He said that you switched to lefty because you probably perfected righty. We had to correct him and be like, that's not the case. But do you have any questions for Wyndham? I do have some questions. I'm also a little loopy. I just came out of a four-hour oral surgery appointment. I forgot he went to the dentist.
1:55:25I feel like I have when girls get lip fillers. That's what's going on.
1:55:33PFT Commenter:It just came out of four hours of getting head. Yeah, four hours of oral. That's what it sounded like. Jeez Louise. Okay. I mean, my question is just I would love to know more about the lower body and the importance of the lower body, how you use it, when you really learn to unlock it, and how much is that something you think about when you're training day in and day out? Of all the different parts of a swing, how important is the lower body? Well, I will say it doesn't take me four hours to get the lower body loosened up. But you know what? The biggest thing is a lot of stretching, a lot of work in the gym, and then the sequencing of the golf swing is very important.
1:56:24And if you can kind of lead with the lower body, that typically helps you hit it farther.
1:56:29PFT Commenter:This is the kind of operation we run here, Wyndham, where we got the guy who was at the dentist for four hours getting on the mic. I love it. Actually, great question by Hank, though. It was a great question. Tell me about that. What does that lower body do? I also have another question because this is a huge problem for me and probably most amateur golfers. If I make a par, let alone a birdie, my mind goes a million different ways. I'm thinking this is going to be the best run of my life. You just had a round where you shot 60. How do you balance staying on the gas of realizing you're on fire but also not getting ahead of yourself so that you can stay on fire?
1:57:09Because if I made two birdies in a row, that's it. I'm probably bogating the next four. Well, we do the same thing in golf. In that round that I was shooting, multiple times I'm thinking about winning. I'm thinking about opening up some grape. I'm thinking about what if I screw up? What if I look at the leaderboard and I hit a bad shot? Our minds do the same thing. What you train is then to come back to the present and do your process. So the best thing for you is whatever it is at any level, come up with a process that helps you hit good golf shots. So like for me, I make sure I go through, get the yardage correct.
1:57:47I'm 100 % committed to the club, whether it's the right club or not. And then I have an intermediate target that I aim to. And then I just focus on that and try to start it over that target. And then you look up and you're like, oh, that's still really good. And you do the same thing with the putt. And you might make five birdies in a row, but you don't even know because you're so focused on the process.
1:58:07PFT Commenter:well Wyndham this has been awesome man we really appreciate it I'm actually gonna I'm gonna give you a second chance on the open up some great comment because I was after I saw that I was like I don't think I like this guy but I like you a lot so thank you so much I mean I might get cancelled by the PGA Tour media they're over here shaking their heads but hey you know what I had fun with you guys yeah yeah we'd love to have you on anytime you actually we have a deal with Max and Brooks but if you do win a major you have to come on that night so we'll maybe get to watch you open up some great We'll have grape of our own.
1:58:36We will do it together. Okay. Big grape party. I love that. Thanks, Wyndham. Okay, I love it. All right. See you, boys. See you, man. 2:01:04PFT Commenter:Quite a week for the boys, pardon my take. Feels like there was a moment last night, PFT, where I actually said, Pugs, by the way, won their playoff game. We're on to the next round. So we're at the bar afterwards having beers, and we're just like, the Knicks were down. And I just turned to Hank, and I was like, this is when me, you, and PFT have to be strong for all these fucking Italians in our booth that are so emotional with each other. I just tweeted out after the first quarter, I tweeted memes is right. Because it felt like this was a disastrous curse. And I'm glad that everything worked out in the long run.
2:01:44I was very nervous for Zach's life. And honestly, not for all our lives, mostly just for Zach's life. I'm glad that it worked out, but I think we're back on a good, we're on good footing now.
2:01:54PFT Commenter:Yeah, we've had quite a week and we just, we have to be strong. This room has to be strong for that room. That's all that we care about. They look to us as role models. But yeah, Pugs, playoffs. Another big matchup next week. Big matchup, big win. Felt good to be out with the boys and have some positive energy going. I got a question for you guys and for the softball team in general. Which you're on. I guess I am on the team. You're on long-term IL. We've actually been saving a lot of salary cap money with you doing that. Load management. Well, no. It's like hockey. We're circumventing the cap right now.
2:02:28You can bring me in for the finals if you need to. Because let me tell you what. I did yoga the other day. Nice. I'm back. I think I'm back. But yeah, with softball, I read this story about the UT women's team and that one player in particular on the team. She eats ladybugs before every game. Saw that. Have you guys thought about implementing something? Absolutely not. You're not going to eat the bugs?
2:02:48PFT Commenter:That's bad luck. I heard Big Cat was eating a bugs guy. I'm never going to eat the bugs. They will never make me eat the bugs. in terms of
2:02:59PFT Commenter:superstitions. The only two that we have now is never, ever, ever warm up and never let PFT pay for beers before the game has taken place. And also drink beers before the game. Yeah, I don't really love that one. We're undefeated when we've done that and the only time we haven't done that, we lost. I'm PFT, what do you when you do that math? Facts are facts. Facts are facts. I deal in facts. We're undefeated when drinking beers before the game and defeated when not drinking beers before the game. Yeah, constantly defeated. Constantly defeated. And it feels worse because you're sober. Yeah. Yeah.
2:03:35It loosens the boys up a little bit. But yeah, I think I respect the University of Texas softball player for doing it. Yeah. For eating ladybugs before every game because it's a fucking psychopath. That's crazy. So what if you can't find them? I think she just, if she sees one, she eats it. Are they ladybugs or are they the fake ladybugs? They're real ladybugs. Because you know the fake ones.
2:03:53PFT Commenter:But you can't have that superstition because if you can't find a ladybug, then you're screwed. Yeah, what are those? Is she just fucking walking around the outfield on her hands and knees looking for bugs? Yeah, the Timu ladybugs. What are they called? Are you talking about the ladybugs that have - No, they're like the off-brand ladybugs. Because it's pride bugs. Oh, the orange ones? Yeah. You talking about love bugs? I think - I don't know. They're like - You guys know what I'm talking about. I do. They're not like bright red. They look kind of like ladybugs, but they're not. No, she eats ladybugs whenever she sees them.
2:04:20I looked into a little bit because I thought, does she just have like a bunch of ladybugs that she keeps at her house? Lady beetle. That she brings out like it's like it's chewing tobacco. But no, I think it's like if she happens to come across a ladybug, she eats it. Got it. Yeah, it's the Asian beetle. Lady Beetle. Oh, you need...
2:04:40PFT Commenter:Nope, nope. I wasn't going to do it. How would you sing... Big Cat. None of us... None of us back here. How would they sing the song Obla Di Obla Di? Not going to do it. The Asian Beetle. Good for her. Hank, go ahead. I mean, pretty... We probably won't talk about it in the beginning of the show. I thought me and me were going to come to blows yesterday. Oh, yeah. He doesn't understand times and what times mean. and that got contentious. Facts. Memes, you have elected to this. Yet to apologize. Memes, you were wrong. Yeah, I was wrong. Okay. All right. That's huge. That's as far as memes would go.
2:05:18PFT Commenter:But then Hank started screaming, so he did. No, no, no. No, you were screaming. You told me to get the fuck away from me. Because you were screaming in my face. We sit next to each other. We sit across from each other. Did you hear about this PFT? He was standing over my desk. I walked in this room yesterday, and either you, Big Cat, or Hank, You said, PFT, what time would you consider to be early afternoon? Yeah. No, but so that was what the genesis of the argument was. Memes was asked to do something in the evening. Early evening. Early evening. And then the person emailed and said, hey, looking forward to this event from five to seven.
2:05:55PFT Commenter:And memes is like, what the fuck? You said it was early evening. I thought it was going to be like two to four. That's as afternoon as possible. but pft the part i might not have told you is there was a moment where uh memes basically yeah he screamed at hank it was like get the fuck out of my face and hank was like or what yeah i did that almost ended yeah the entire podcast office everything he started seeing red then he said that and then i started seeing red and then i was like i there was a chance he's gonna stand up and we're just gonna fight we didn't and we've gotten over it but it was it was it was heated i fucking love you boys like this is the shit that like listen anyone any podcast out there that pretends that it's all you know rainbows and gumdrops all the time listen sometimes you get in a yelling match about what is afternoon what is evening and then one guy says get the fuck out of my face then the other guy who might be his boss says or what and whatever happens after or what could end the entire company show everything those are the things we live for yeah just just another day at the stool or what i did set it off with the text yeah yeah yes because i called him a bozo yeah you're like you never said it i was like i i said early evening and you go early evening is two to four and then i was like you're joking yeah you were actually joking yeah that's insane read it that's insane or what you bozo you said evening late afternoon goes till five listen some guys don't know when the weekend starts some guys don't know times that's true yeah that's true Between us, we can figure out a calendar.
2:07:30PFT Commenter:Yeah, no, 5 o 'clock is the start of evening. That is early evening. You said early evening, you bozo. And I was like, are you trolling? What time is 510? And he goes, that's night. And I go, what time is? That's not night. I said, what time is early evening then? He said, early evening is 2 to 4. And then I just went up to him. I was like, what is happening? 2 to 4 is the meat of the afternoon. Yeah. And then he got Brandon involved. Well, yeah. And I said, Brandon, I was calling. I was looking around. I was like, there's graphics guys over there. I was like, hey. and they could tell his contention.
2:07:58I'm like, hey, quick. They go, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not getting involved. Brandon was down the hallway. I was like, Brandon, come here. And he goes, I was like, what time is early evening? He goes, five o 'clock. And Mims was like, shut the fuck up. Look at what you're wearing. Yeah, I said, look at what you're wearing. If there's anybody that knows about sundown towns, it's Brandon Walker. You're right, Mims. That's true. That they get a good laugh. And then Hank and Brandon started calling me a cunt. Oh, okay. I didn't call you a cunt. Now, Hank, when you told Mims, or what, did he look like he was going to do what no no he turtled he just was looking at his computer oh you pussy memes that's what it sounds like i was wondering about that because it sounds like you just kind of didn't do anything it sounds like you kind of just sat there and took it or what is maybe the heaviest thing you could say well he was i was it was like i was trying to come i was trying to just address the situation and then he was just like he was acting like he was my boss he's like get the fuck out of here and i was like i sit here no i said you sit over there yeah but it's all good it's that you know it happens yeah thank god i mean not really that's the thing the fucked up part is memes is such a sourpuss that there was one second yesterday where i was like i kind of hope the nicks win just so memes doesn't like kill us all the summer it's like no fuck that fuck the nicks but it is what it is we're past it next one okay they can enjoy it for now um and also the email i said wasn't even bad i was like you're just like you never told us no i read the email wasn't that bad no it wasn't bad i just that's just a workplace yeah no i just clear you said we didn't we never said you never established a time whatever it doesn't matter uh and then yesterday i went to the dentist i was under anesthesia they told me it was gonna i was gonna be like fine it'd be a quick recovery so i came back to the office thinking i was gonna be fine one of those kind of like when you're blackout and you don't realize it like i don't remember much of like being in the office yesterday and like the windham clerk Okay, I've already shuddered thinking about what I said in the Wyndham-Clark interview and just like realizing I was in the office for like four hours yesterday.
2:09:56Like I went home after that and then slept before the softball game and woke up. It was like, whoa, like I was pretty fucked up earlier. And I was like, oh, I was at the office for four hours. It was actually fun. Yeah, you sound more sober than most golf journalists. That's good. It was good. Yeah, other than that, great week. Yeah. Okay, PFT. I'm still thinking about the Asian Beatles. I'm still thinking about or what. You say goodbye and I say no.
2:10:23PFT Commenter:Max still didn't get it. We'll explain it later. All right. Oh, Blackbird, don't be a thing or two. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Help. Yellow submarine. Oh, my God. Yellow submarine. Oh, my God. We got to stop. Eleanor Rigby. Oh, man. Maxwell Silverhammer. Yeah. God. Oh. All right. good fire fest Hank thank you thank you my fire fest is we make a lot of stupid purchases on this show no you know what that's what the haters would say the haters would say we make a lot of stupid purchases on this show I also I think people are going to be like oh I can't believe you're listen PFC and I do are lucky enough to have money now it's pretty awesome I think we're instead of being like hoarding it we're we're just buying the dumbest shit possible and being like hey look how stupid this shit is i don't know like we're basically living true to like when you're 20 years old you're like if i had this i would buy this yes we're actually doing i think back all the time to like how i felt as a 12 year old and i think to myself what did you want out of life if you had if you got a blank check at 12 what would you have done and then i try to do that thing because guess what i think i was smarter when i was 12 than i am today an ice cream machine yes i think i think i had a more pure sense of direction in the world of what's right and wrong and so sometimes we spend things we spend money on things that might not be um conventional uh but i've made i believe this is the biggest perk outside of a house and a car uh this is the biggest purchase of my life okay that i i just fully cemented is it the one you were talking about earlier i'm a washington Wizards season ticket.
2:12:12Oh, yeah. And I'm talking some good seats. I sprung for some very... Let's just say that I'm going to be able to have one-on-one conversations with Trey Young. Is it on the wood? I am... I don't want to say exactly where they are just yet. Because there was... It's wood or it's not wood. It doesn't matter where they are in the stadium. Max, just say it. Will your feet be on the woods? I don't know where the wood starts. Say it, Max. That's your thing. The first row. Say it, Max. What do you want me to say?
2:12:46PFT Commenter:I want you to say what you want to say. No. Yes. No, no, no. Where are the seats? They are directly behind the wizard's bench. Okay. That's pretty sick. That's sick. That's pretty sick. Say it, Max. Right in front of me. I have nothing to say. You know what you want to say. I have nothing to say. Say it. Say it. I have nothing to say. Come on. Lip up. Say it. One time PFT gifted me courtside seats, and they were in the eighth row.
2:13:13PFT Commenter:max pulled me aside when you told us about these season tickets and he was like there's a chance pt doesn't know what the first row is because he see i that sucks i blame the charity that i i won them off of in a silent auction for marketing them as front row seats that's bullshit that's bullshit on their part were they good seats i'm sorry they were they were great i did i did tell oh, Max, I got you front row seats. Yeah. And then they were in the eighth row. I also don't think they were marketed as front row seats. What a nice guy Max is for not telling me that until just now. Well, it was very nice of you to give me those seats.
2:13:49But I did have my brothers fly out. I was like, this is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. We're going to have feet on wood. You guys got to come. And then I got the seats. I was like, sorry, guys. Not even close to the wood. Well, guess what, Max? When the Sixers play the Wizards, you can fly to Washington D.C. and still not be on the wood I'll fly you out I don't know how the arenas are set up like the row that is directly behind the Wizards bench, that front row that is sick your feet might be on the wood there those seats are sick they're incredible seats
2:14:24PFT Commenter:some teams do like staff, you know what I mean right behind and then you have one either way it's sick this is right behind And listen, it's Wizards season tickets. Some might say APFT, you don't live in Washington, D.C. Was that going to be your question? It was. That's a fair question. So I'll make it back for some of the games. Some of the others I'll just give away. Friends, family, maybe even listeners of this show. If you're willing to get Wizarded and you're in the D.C. area, then that'll probably turn into something that I will end up giving away to some of you guys. But I'm pumped. I'm pumped.
2:15:02That's how much I believe in this team. And I just saw, again, for all the haters out there, Anthony Davis just put out a video where he's wearing a wizard shirt. Nice. So we're good to go. How many games? What's your plan? Well, there's 41 games. Yep. And then plus the playoffs. Yep. So how many? Playoffs. Play-in playoffs. Plus the playoffs. That was a big part of the sell that they put on me. Well, you have to pay extra for those. Yeah, but don't forget, you also have the right to buy them at face value for the playoffs when we make it to the playoffs.
2:15:33PFT Commenter:And so anyone listening right now who wants to go to a Wizards game in PFT seats, email PMT Bachelor Party and Zach will go through it. As PFT was telling us all this, I just looked at Zach and I was like, you got some more work, buddy. We're slinging tickets, boys. Yeah. So it's a lot of money to be paying for Wizards season tickets, considering I don't think I've paid more than$20 in my entire life for a Wizards season ticket or for a Wizards ticket to a game. Yeah. But, yeah, I'm excited about it. This could be fun. So we're looking at, is this the Wizards? That was Knicks. Okay, yeah, because, see, sometimes there are some staff behind.
2:16:13PFT Commenter:Either way, it doesn't really matter. If you're behind the staff, you're still, like, right there. You're in shouting distance. I think I'm going to be, like, I saw the virtual picture that the guy sent me. It looks pretty good. Love that. It looks pretty good. So, yeah. So I'm excited. Feet on the wood, probably. Yeah, Hank, you got another question? Yeah, hypothetically. and i i mean actually i guess i won't even i won't even say that because i am actively rooting for the wizards to be bad next year because of our bet uh but let's say they are terrible you're coming to some games with me if it's close at the end of the season definitely uh but if they're terrible like how long will you keep doing this bit if they're bad next year like will you get season tickets again what do you mean bit what's a bit like believing in the wizards you think that's a bit yes believing in magic is a bit sorry some of us don't want to grow up hank yeah sorry hank uh i like sports i'm not a front runner are you saying like you can only root for your team no i'm just asking like what they're like what is that's what it sounds like to me what is your i i've rooted for dc sports my entire i'm used to rooting for you're gonna you're gonna own these season tickets forever well it depends on how it depends on how regularly i'm checking my emails when they send around the renewal notification because i'm in that on i believe year three of having cold season tickets because i did not deactivate them so if they sneak it past me during football season um and i'm not checking my email and it goes to my 100 ,011 emails that i have on read then i probably will auto run it you're going to be in the same exact spot i am with with my blackhawk season tickets i'm uh committed to having blackhawk season tickets until my credit card expires.
2:17:51PFT Commenter:And then we'll reassess. Yep. We will have to. I think it's 2029. Then we'll have to reassess. That's the way that men close out accounts. Correct. Is they wait for their shit to expire. And it's like a natural forest fire that wipes everything out. And then you restart from scratch. Having seen tickets is fun, man. It is. Just go to games. Yeah. So I'm thinking maybe if I'm giving away these tickets, I have thought about making people dress up as actual wizards to go to the game. I think that'd be a good look. Or if boobs. Boobs. Boobs would be good. Those are always fair. Those would be good.
2:18:23Okay. Hold on. Yeah.
2:18:25PFT Commenter:Is there like a scheduled release date for basketball? Probably after the season. Yeah. Okay. What do you got? That'll be exciting. Pulling it up. I'm pulling it up. Yep. So there's - 101 VIP. 101 VIP. That's it? Yep. Oh, okay. Yeah. These are awesome. Those are fucking awesome. Yeah. They'll be good seats. I'm telling you. Yeah. If I just explained what I was doing to like a psychologist, they would probably think, I was insane. Oh, no, just midlife crisis. Yeah. Yeah. But I've been having a midlife crisis for the last 40 years. It's now I can just afford my midlife crisis. Well, that's my fire.
2:19:00PFT Commenter:My fire fest is what? Memes, what's going on? They'd probably think you're insane. Yeah. No, they would. You just bought Wizards season tickets. You win one finals game. You live in Chicago. Memes is a terrorist right now. You win one. Memes, sorry for spreading it around to maybe some kids that might not be able to afford these seats that want nothing more than to go watch Trey Young and Bilal Koulibaly play basketball. They already can't afford the seats. It's like just rubbing it in their face like, hey, go torture yourself and watch the Wizards. This is bullshit. It's bullshit. Also, you're not prepared for the rivalry that we're about to have.
2:19:36Yep.
2:19:37PFT Commenter:Yeah. Learn some history memes. You can choose your rivals. Bob Diaco taught us that. my fire fest actually not similar to the Wiz but shout out Zach shout out Jacob shout out Owen today is the one year anniversary of the ice cream machine being in this office and it's been an incredible year I think I said at the time when we got it I said I don't want to live in a world where ice cream isn't easily accessible to me I'm just tired of living in that world so I've changed it but it also made me realize like time's just moving too fast we gotta hit a pause like one that's crazy that we've had it for a year a year is nuts i hank just pointed out it's our uh me and his three-year anniversary of moving here june 1st yeah i remember when hank moved because he didn't have any of the utilities set up in his place so he had to stay with me for a couple nights yeah but yeah three years since then one year the ice cream machine does feel like it was yesterday it feels like it was yesterday so yeah it's it's just kind of like I need time to slow down a little bit.
2:20:40PFT Commenter:But shout out the boys working hard. We've had no Listeria. Knock on wood. We've had no times where the only stoppages we've had were forced on us by other people. It's been great. A couple new flavors this year, maybe? Maybe. I like the strawberry. Okay. We could do strawberry for summer. Maybe Wimbledon. Oh, strawberry and vanilla? Yeah. And we could try the other strawberry as well. So we had two iterations. I know the last one was a little bit too strong, so we can try the other one. I love that. Okay, Zach, your Fyre Fest.
2:21:13I mean, my Fyre Fest of the week is causing division in this Knicks booth this week. Should I go with a different one? No, no.
2:21:21PFT Commenter:Well, we've already talked a lot about it, but you— That's a good point. I guess, how do you feel?
2:21:28I feel—you hate division. You hate to see it. You know what I mean? Like, one of your guys are in a division situation, and I play a big part in it. That's how you really feel. That's how I feel. That's how I feel. Was that you, Max, when we got softball and the Knicks were losing and Jalen Brunson was hurt? It looked like he might be hurt bad. I think you were the one. You were like, Zach is definitely just sitting in his apartment. Oh, I did. I said that.
2:21:50PFT Commenter:I said if I could have a live game on Zach right now, he's sitting in his apartment by himself fixing his glasses over and over and over as there's updates on Jalen Brunson. That was high stress. Speaking to no one, just being like this. Just like the season could be over. and then I your life could be over outside of that life too yeah maybe do you regret like the part that you played in it I mean you never feel good about it you know yeah you won the lottery ball I don't think I don't think either of you guys have regrets and I'm not sure that either of you should have regrets no it's an unfortunate situation yeah there you go unfortunate all around yeah it's unfortunate that it happened you regret saying the word email on why you picked the number i will say part of my thought press on that is whether i saw the 11 in the email you saw it on jaylen's jersey it was a it may have always been 11 and the fact so it wasn't the email it was jaylen's jersey no i saw it in the email i said that that's that's i can't take that back that's what happened meme saw it on the jersey he was willing it for jaylen it's i felt as if the 11 came up and it's like if we're talking superstitions I felt like okay it was always 11 and like memes why are you upset about the word email gotta do it for the next gotta do it for the next I'm trying to break a 50 you are you're trying hard if it costs us Hank's life you'll do it we have to win alright oldie's here oldie Miss you buddy You got a fire fest for us?
2:23:33Miss you boys too Love being back in this two and a half star I gotta say it's getting up to two and three quarters There's a lot of good upgrades I like it a lot
2:23:39PFT Commenter:Oldie came with a bag of treats Which he always does But it was like It almost exploded when he tried to open it It was so many treats Yeah so that was kind of my fire fest this morning I was down in Disney like three weeks ago With the fam jam Crushed it I had my little What's it do with your teeth brush and all that stuff. What do you call that little package there? Toothbrush? Toiletries? Yeah, the toiletry. Yeah, a little toiletry bag. So I had all my candies in my backpack, right? Normally it's clear, go through, go through. And this time I see my backpack go to the side. I'm like, oh no, all the chocolates, all the candies.
2:24:13This is not good. So the lady's like, sir, yeah, you have scissors in your bag? And I'm like, I don't think I have scissors. And she's like, yeah, you have scissors in your bag. So I went in and I seen the scissors and I was like, oh my gosh, like terribly sorry. Like this was like from a Disney trip. that wasn't my concern my concern was that bag getting evicted from me and not bringing chocolates to the barn here like that would have been that would have been terrible it would have been awful i just would have probably just turned around and went back home and said you know what keep the
2:24:40PFT Commenter:bag i'm out of here i'm staying in canada it is you have set the precedent that like when you come we expect just an insane amount of treats yeah it's probably not fair but you kind of conditioned us to think that way it's not fair but guess what it's never going to change you have to come with treats always like i bring half like half my suitcase is chocolate bars and candies and treats and snacks and maple syrup i have a huge duffel bag like like a biggest bag of chips i think there's probably like 15 bags of chips and i got like four carry-on bags you're not supposed to have that right uh no definitely not but i'm here i love being back in the barn boys great to see you guys weather is finally here yeah is every building a barn no uh usually uh usually every building a barn, but this is one of the best barns in the league.
2:25:27It is the best barn in the league, boys. Look at this place. I love it. The banner. I got to use the trough too. Yeah. I got to use the trough, which is incredible. That was built for you. Can't poop in it. Only pee. Yeah, only pee. Only front words. Backwards and sit down always. Yep. Appreciate you, boys. Love being back in the barn. Everyone in Canada loves you guys too.
2:25:43PFT Commenter:I love it. I love it. And yeah, Oldies here because we're doing the bass fishing tournament, which will be out in a few weeks. And also, oh, tune in starting, is it next? Is it Monday? Monday we did the barstool basically we did a soccer tournament Oldie was in it Oldie we drafted the teams on the Yak Oldie's on my team so tune in I think we're doing episodes every single day 10am eastern is when they debut so yeah watch us be idiots playing soccer a lot of fun 11 3 oh fuck 25 Four 99 21 61

2:27:0453. 53. All right. Good show, boy. Good show. Happy birthday on Sunday to Christian McCaffrey. Want to get ahead of that one. Happy birthday, Christian McCaffrey. Happy birthday to Sam Darnold, Super Bowl champion. Happy birthday to Torrey Holt. Happy birthday on Saturday to Anthony Rendon, World Series champion. Happy birthday to Kenny Pickett. Happy birthday to DeAndre Hopkins as well. You love Anthony Rendon. I do love Anthony Rendon. Nat for life, World Series champion. It's insane. It didn't pan out. With Rendon? It actually panned out perfectly. PFT loves Rendon way more than Rendon loves baseball.
2:27:48100%. Significant. Yes. I timed the Anthony Rendon market perfectly. You cannot do it better. Also, happy birthday in advance next week for Hank. Again, we're still on Hank birthday watch that none of us are going to forget. And it is next Wednesday. Hank's birthday is next Wednesday. Love you guys.
