In short

Dave Smith (solo) argues that critics of his anti-Trump stance are hypocritical, claims Republicans are not taking the “Democrats are a threat” narrative seriously, and then responds to viral clips from Victor Davis Hanson about Israel/Palestine accusations.

Guest backgrounds

No guests in this episode. Smith discusses public figures and references debates (e.g., Alan Dershowitz, Victor Davis Hanson, Sam Harris) but does not interview anyone.

Key claims

  1. Trump-era “anti–radical left” loyalists’ main argument is that breaking with Trump helps Democrats win; Smith says this is infuriating because he says he criticized Democrats and “woke” policies first.
  2. With midterms about a month away, Smith argues Republicans are doing little to protect institutions; he says Congress is on break (citing Mike Johnson) rather than pushing major legislation.
  3. He argues Hanson’s Israel defense uses rhetorical tactics: shifting from “war crimes” to “apartheid,” then to unrelated comparisons, and using “whataboutism.”
  4. Smith claims Israel’s control of Palestinians for decades without voting rights is “apartheid,” and that “settler colonialism” arguments are mishandled via conflating Jewish historical presence with modern state legitimacy.

Notable examples

  • Smith cites Thomas Massie trying to push “Epstein files part two” and Thomas Massey’s last-minute actions (including impeachment articles against Pete Hegseth).
  • Hanson examples Smith critiques: “apartheid” rebuttal via Arab citizens voting inside Israel; “settler colonialism” rebuttal via archaeological claims about Jews living there.

2:18And thank you to all of those of you who have. But so I find this is the kind of point that I wanted to make. I alluded to this on the members only episode, but I'd wanted to get into it more fully here. But this really is remarkable to me. And this has to do with, I guess, what has been a major theme of this show over the last year. I guess the last year plus, you know, the summer's over here. We're like into the fall, I guess. I don't know when is technically the summer over, but it's right around now. And so the summer of 26 is over. It was at the beginning of the summer of 2025 that I guess officially jumped with both feet off of the Trump train and publicly called for his impeachment.

3:10I think I'm not sure about this. I've never actually bothered to look this up, but I do think of the people who supported Trump. I, you know, I mean, I don't know. I guess it's kind of arbitrary how you'd measure this. But of the big name people who supported Donald Trump, I think I was the first one to jump off and certainly one of the first, if not the first and ones who jumped off like the most ferociously. I called for his, you know, impeachment and I think a trial maybe. Who remembers? But I was right. Anyway, yeah, I mean, I joined the latest and I left the earliest or something like that of the Trump coalition.

3:52But, you know, I remember at that time to me when he launched the 12-day war and he covered up the Epstein files, it was like it was obvious the decision the administration had made. And I think over the last year, year and a few months, that's kind of been borne out. Now, you know, that's from my perspective. One of the major arguments along the way, as we've talked about on the show, has been, let's say, as over that period of time, you know, if you remember, this was like, I was like kind of the first one, at least in my circle of people who jumped off. But over that period of time now, obviously, Tucker and Megyn Kelly and Alex Jones and Candace Owens and, you know, I mean, I wouldn't say I don't know exactly what the status with Rogan is, but he's certainly been very critical of a lot of the policies.

4:41And Theo Vaughn and guys and Andrew Schultz and all these guys have been very critical of the administration. And during that time, the guys who still supported Donald Trump, essentially, I would say their biggest argument, although there's been a few, but probably their biggest argument has been that, hey, guys, you're essentially giving in to the radical left. Like, look, the Democrats and the leftists who who did so much damage over the last, you know, however many years, you're going to let them right back into power. Um, and, and in some ways, you know, half of the, uh, half of the attacks from these guys on people like us is that we sound like the leftists or we're siding with the leftists.

5:30Like, oh my God, Dave, you know, I get this all the time. Like you keep talking about Palestine or the genocide over there, whatever. It's like, what are you, one of these leftists now you're at, now you're out doing shows with Anna Kasparian. And after all this time, we fought against the kind of like woke insanity or whatever. And, you know, look, I'll say this. At least to some degree, when you hear people like Ben Shapiro or whoever make these arguments, there is at least some degree of like overlap in agreement between us and them. And so maybe it's fair to just for the sake of this point that I'm getting to, maybe it's fair to just point that out, but we certainly would agree, right, that, yeah, the Democrats were awful.

6:18We don't want to hand power back to the Democratic establishment that essentially was governing during Joe Biden's presidency, which also was governing during the Obama presidency. And, you know, particularly, I guess, for me, as someone who I think, when it comes to like street cred on the issue of criticizing woke insanity or criticizing the democratic establishment i really take a backseat to no one um in fact i think i was probably light years ahead of almost all i mean you know you have to go through them but almost all the war hawks who criticize us now i bet i was so much better on russiagate while it was happening than they were.

7:05Well, they'll take my position now, you know, they'll take my position on Russiagate now, but how many of them had it at the time? And how many of them who were against it were even like soft against it? Like, well, there should be an investigation and we should get to the bottom of any Russian collusion. Cause like, they didn't see through it as like the deep state coup that it was. Um, so now, you know, now they're Trump loyalists, but back then, and again, during COVID, of course, none of their track record was good. Maybe, maybe one of them, but most of them was terrible. Anyway, you know, there is something about that accusation that, um, Hey, you're whatever you're doing here, you're about to let the radical left back in.

7:45And I do, I remember, in fact, there was one, I think I want to say it was a meet the press interview with Pat Buchanan, but who knows? Cause Pat was on TV so much back in those days. Um, but there was one where they were asking him about if you, for those of you who don't know, Pat Buchanan, like he, he was, you know, he worked for several presidential administrations and he mounted a very serious primary presidential campaign in 1992. But in the year 2000, he ran on the reform party and it all just kind of fell apart. He didn't get a lot of votes, but the famous thing he's known for in that election is that he got a bunch of votes in the, like these Jewish counties in Florida.

8:23and the overwhelming suspicion is like, I think it was, I can't remember the details. I think it was like, if you looked at the way the voting cards were, the people clearly thought they were voting for Al Gore and accidentally voted for Pat Buchanan. And this was the margin of error. It would have given him the state of Florida and therefore the presidency because it came down to Florida that year. So anyway, but so they, I think they were asking at one point him about getting Al Gore elected. like what if you running against the running as a third party took votes away that would have gone to george bush and now you got al gore elected and he was like oh my god that is terrifying that that would be on my tombstone there he lies he got al gore elected and so anyway in a way it's like this criticism isn't anything new it's what the anti-war right-wingers always get you know just go along with the team because we're a little bit better than them so hold your nose through this next bullshit war.

9:19But you know, those of us, many of us don't agree to do that with this one for a lot of reasons. And Pat Buchanan was right to not agree to do it back then. Anyway, so this kind of attack that, hey man, you know, while you're sitting here turning your back on Donald Trump, what this is going to lead to the Democrats coming back. I think that it's, you know, look, Look, I'm not going to say it's a good line of attack, but it probably is the best line of attack that they have. And you could understand why they'd make it. You know, it's like, well, look, we have nothing else other than we have consensus that the whole pretending Biden isn't senile and transing the kids and supporting the war in Ukraine and forcing people to get the covid vaccination.

10:06We have consensus that that's all bad. So let's go back to that. And you got to understand where from like my perspective, probably the perspective of a lot of people who listen to this show, it's pretty goddamn infuriating. Because if you think about any of those issues that I just laid out, I guarantee I was good on them before all of these people were. And now they're going to invoke our kind of consensus against those things. And of course, our response to this all along has been no dummy like you guys are handing power back over to them. That's why you don't go launch a war that nobody wants to fight and lose it on top of that, because this is what's going to give power back to that crazy establishment.

10:52Well, as we sit here right now, we are in the last week of September or the last full week of September. Meaning we're basically into October. We're a month away from the midterm elections. And I just can't overstate how crazy I think this is. Okay. So however you've been, um, however you feel about that entire fight that's gone down over the last year, you know, the say Ben Shapiro's and Mark Levin's and whoever else on the Warhawks on one side, and then, you know, Tucker Carlson and, and guys like me or whatever over on on the other side. And they've essentially been saying, oh, look, you guys, well, first off, they, they oscillate back and forth between saying you guys don't matter.

11:50Tucker Carlson doesn't matter. No one cares. This doesn't affect real people to now saying, as I predicted, they would earlier in the year to now saying, you guys are destroying the coalition. You guys are the reason why we're going to lose the midterms. And look, you're handing power back over to the Democrats. And then their biggest like indictment seems to be that some of you rascals have even said you're going to support the Democrats or you hope that the Democrats win. You know, I think Nick Fuentes said he's going to support the Democrats, I believe. Correct me if I'm getting that wrong.

12:21I think he said that. And I certainly said that they have to win the midterms, you know, because like the party that, you know, lies you into war has to be punished. and so that's their big you know out like oh well look you you guys are either indirectly or directly giving aid and comfort to the Democrats and they're going to destroy this country they are such a big threat right and it's so like hey we're all in agreement that yes they are a big threat and we could go down the list of the things that the Democratic establishment and like left-leaning Americans people have done over the last 15, 20 years and how insane it all is.

13:03Maybe another episode we could do that, but just listen, sign up at partoftheproblem.com and listen to this podcast. The last 15 years we've been covering it, I think. All right, guys, let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show, which is The Wellness Company. Americans love sushi. Over the last two decades, raw fish consumption has exploded sushi bars are everywhere millions of people now eat raw fish weekly but there is a hidden risk that most people never think about and that's parasites this is why many physicians are raising awareness about parasite exposure dr peter mccullough you may remember being heroic throughout covid he recommends doing a parasite cleanse at least once a year as a preventative measure so the wellness company offers a hard to access prescription parasite cleanse.

13:46It's USA compounded ivermectin and mibendazole. Ivermectin paralyzes the parasite's nervous system while the mibendazole starves them. Each capsule contains 25 milligrams of ivermectin and 250 milligrams of mibendazole. You can choose between a 90 or 45 capsule bottle giving you either four or two 21-day parasite cleanse cycles. So go check them out at twc.health slash problem and use the promo code problem to save up to$60 off. Plus you get free shipping. That's TWC dot health slash problem promo code problem for up to$60 off plus free shipping. All right, let's get back into the show. But okay, so here's the big argument.

14:32You like, let's really distill it down. I guess it's that if we had kept our mouth shut, or perhaps, Perhaps, perhaps if I'm trying to be as charitable as possible, they're going guys like me, let's say, could have voiced our criticism for policies that we don't like in the Trump administration while overall still supporting Donald Trump. Right. So there's probably a way that I could let you guys know on this show that I didn't agree with the decision to go to war in Iran. But then I could have like I could have not focused on that so much. I could have talked about that and then really talked about some radical leftist policy, some Democrats somewhere.

15:12I could have kept it more like let me still try to help the Republican side and get them over. Right. Like, like I'm just saying that we could have done that and then we'd be in a stronger position than we were to essentially break away and trash Donald Trump and and renounce the regime. And and this part I will if I'm trying to be as charitable as possible, this part I'll give him some. Like, if I'm being completely fair, because I have noticed this dynamic a bunch, right? like Pierce has had me on a couple times where it's like me versus a Trump supporter and a Democrat check in there too. And it ends up just being me versus the Trump supporter.

15:56And then she is just kind of a waste of time. I guess my point is that guys like me and guys like Tucker and guys like Joe Kent, we make the argument a lot better than most liberals can. And so in that sense, we are kind of like handing them ammo. We're handing them talking points. We're handing them, whether we mean to do it or not, we're handing them the best way to attack Donald Trump. And so in some sense, these Ben Shapiro, Mark Levin types can argue, hey, you guys breaking in this way aids them over this administration, right? But then we could sit here and the counter argument, obviously, that I would make is just fuck this whole game.

16:41I don't play that game. I tell the truth to my audience. That's the agreement I have with my audience. I don't go, I don't cycle this through the mind of a political operative because I'm not a political operative. And that to me is almost like very inherent. It's very fundamental in the DNA of whatever the hell this show is, whatever the hell it is, that is me talking and you listening right now, very fundamental in the thing there is that I'm like, hey, I'm a guy, I'm an American talking to other Americans about what I see as the state of our country, but I'm not a political operative feeding you something in a way designed to manipulate you into an opinion.

17:22And if I was doing that, that would feel like wrong. That would feel like a betrayal of kind of the agreement here. So anyway, so like essentially, so my counter to the Ben Shapiro types is number one, I don't do that. I'm not in the business of trying to get one political party elected over the other. I'm in the business of telling the truth to people as I see it. It's a different thing. And then like number two, it's like, no, if you're so worried about that other group of people, then you don't launch a war of aggression on behalf of a foreign country and lie your way into it. Sorry, that's the answer.

17:59You know, like it's it's this is like during COVID when, um, what's his name? Uh, what's his name? The pretend intellectual who talks about me all the time, but it's too much of a coward to ever see me. I'm sorry. I know that's not specific enough. Um, Sam Harris. Uh, so in Sam Harris, uh, says during COVID, uh, what was the, I'm sorry, what was the argument that I wanted to, to compare here? Um, so, oh, oh, so during COVID, Sam Harris was, I apologize for that during the, during COVID, Sam Harris would make the argument, you know, the real problem here is that people like Joe Rogan and Dave Smith are sowing distrust in institutions, but we need institutions.

18:40And you're like, that's the argument. The argument is that when we point out that they lie, people are less likely to trust them. I don't know. I mean, like, this is like, this is like the guy who's cheating all over his wife, getting mad at the person who told his wife. You told her and now she doesn't trust our marriage. Yeah. Okay, fine. But really, the problem was what you were doing. I don't know. It's just too it's it's hard to take it seriously. But anyway, so that's so so yeah, our argument, which is clearly the correct one is number one, we don't believe in lying. And number two, it's your fault that you've undermined this like the whole point, you can't just get up at your convention, get up at all these different speeches and all these different interviews and promise no new wars and then long.

19:28and then launches into the obvious war of choice that was always on the table while you were saying no new wars. You know, you launch it anyway. OK, but here's really the point. This really is the kicker. For this argument that like I just kind of I think briefly and I think fairly and charitably laid out their side of the argument and our side of the argument. But for this argument to exist, for their argument or our argument or our counter argument to not be contradicted in order for it to be valid. The agreement is that the Democrats are really bad. They're a big threat. OK, we can agree on that.

20:10Like I said before, we could go through the litany some other time, but we could agree on that. And certainly I don't know. I mean, there's people out there who say, you know, kind of wild things. And by my disposition, by my nature, I'm a little bit adverse to like making wild claims. But people say if the Democrats come back in, they will do X or Y. I don't know. I mean, I do think it's reasonable to think some things like they will try to impeach Trump again. They will have investigations and subpoenas. They will tie up the administration. I think that's reasonable. You know, but like they will institute a central bank digital currency.

20:45They will do lockdowns again. They'll do forced vaccinations. They'll do forced gender reassignment surgery. You know, I don't know. Who knows if they'll do any of that stuff. However, given what they did over the last 20 years, it's not that crazy that people would think they're going to ramp it up if they get in there again. Well, OK. All right. So cut to today. Another thing I think we can all objectively agree on, not looking great for the Republicans going into the midterms, which are, by the way, as I mentioned before, in a month. in a month. You know, so much of the, what really I think could be described as a counter-cultural movement over the last 15 years, the anti-woke movement that ultimately was victorious, at least to some degree, certainly has rolled it back from where it was.

21:40You know, there's, I mean, a lot of people played roles in that. You know, there was a huge mass like kind of pushback against so much of that that cultural insanity. What I think could be studied if we return to normalcy could be studied by historians as a true moment of like, you know, mass psychosis. but so much of that pushback that culminated in the success of Donald Trump's you know victories in in in the 2024 election you know was so many of us fought and did our little part to battle back against that woke insanity and all of the policies and cultural norms that surrounded it and in 2024 you know Donald Trump comes in he wins the presidency he's got the Supreme Court a somewhat handpicked Supreme Court.

22:31He's got control of the House of Representatives and the Senate. And the Democrats are in the toilet. They had like a 22 % approval rating as a party, humiliated with the catastrophe of Joe Biden having to pull out in the fourth quarter, and then Kamala Harris humiliating herself internationally. The Democrats were destroyed. This very dangerous thing that we all agreed was destroyed. And then the Republicans come in, and the Republicans have control of the Congress and the Supreme Court and the White House. And this was our moment to let. And so as you sit here and you go, OK, we're a month away from what we all agree is likely going to be, however any of us feel at this point, is likely going to be Democrats taking back control of the Congress, certainly the House of Representatives and quite possibly, quite likely the Senate as well.

23:19Certainly the House. OK, so we're about we now all know we're all in agreement here. I think that this party represents a huge threat. And this party is also about to come back into political power. So as we sit a month out, we might ask ourselves, I think this is a fair way to grade the Trump administration. If you're telling me the communists are at the door, this is not Joe Biden or Barack Obama, as bad as that was for our nation, it may have ultimately destroyed this great nation, right? Well, it's certainly devastating for it. As bad as that was, you're telling me something even worse is coming.

23:57Well, with this opportunity that we had over this two-year period, what have we done to institutionally protect the American people, the American Republic, the American nation from what these Democrats are about to bring? And I'll wait for answers on that. You know, we know that the leftists went through the long march of the institutions and took over every damn near every one of them, but they control, you know, academia and education and the big media and big pharma and, you know, everything else, right? What's been done to dismantle any of those institutions? And don't tell me a few of them aren't allowed to ask dumb, unimportant questions in one room in the White House.

24:47What's been done? you know what like what has really been done have you even even the thing you claim the election was stolen from you in 2020 what's been done to secure elections going forward now here's a piece of information for you on top of all of that and this really should tell you something about all those people who are mad at us for pointing out that the president's lying us into war even though they all know he is. None of them can, can really argue against it.

25:21Mike Johnson, you might wonder, Hey, since the last episode that we've done, since the last part of the problem that we've done, what has the Congress been doing? What's the Congress been doing? We got a month left. This is it. We know we're about to lose control of the government. The commies are at the door. They're coming. They're going to destroy everything. Okay. We're in agreement. Well, what are we going to do here, man? We, you guys must be really freaking out for the future of the country are you trying to cram through some major legislation before that happens what have they done since last oh i'm sorry what they've done since last episode is nothing nothing because mike johnson called an early uh recess so they're on break they're gonna take a seven week break i know some of them got campaigns to run and stuff that's what's important got to go run your losing campaigns rather than save the country.

26:15So like, by the way, just, and it couldn't be a more perfect contrast, a juxtaposition between that and somebody who actually believes what they say. Okay. Thomas Massey, what was Thomas met? Now Thomas Massey knows he's out of Congress. This is his final little run, which I guess is over now because they took this break. Um, or maybe he'll get a little bit in before the new Congress is seated, but, uh, so Thomas Massey, what's he doing in his last few days oh he's passing every set he's he's trying to cram through he's using every trick in the book to try to cram through the epstein files part two he last minute as a as a surprise he introduced articles of impeachment against pete hagseth trying to do something what's the republican establishment who has the control who has the the the legislative arm of government what have they done it's it's so revealing that they don't even take the threat seriously, that to sit here and watch Ben Shapiro and Mark Levin and all these people who have more outrage for us than they have ever had for the establishment of either political party.

27:25Fact. An absolute fact. Has anyone ever, has any Democrat or Republican establishment figure ever made Mark Levin or Ben Shapiro's blood boil the way that Tucker Carlson or me do. Never once. So, you know, so anyway, those guys who are so furious at us because of this big threat of the Democratic establishment and how we haven't been loyal enough to the party that is in opposition to them, those guys don't even seem to care that the establishment of the party that you're shilling for has done nothing. and doesn't care, isn't even trying, isn't even pretending to be trying. They don't even care enough to make it look like they care to you.

28:20They're on break. All right, guys, let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show, which is Bubz. It's rigorously third-party tested for quality and purity, and it's NSF certified for sport, meaning it's tested for banned substances. And that matters to athletes and competitors and tactical professionals and anyone who wants a supplement that they can trust. All right, let's get back into the show. I mean, am I crazy? Does that not really add some bit of perspective to this whole argument that we've been having over the last year. Oh yeah. We're the, we're the bad guys for, for telling the truth about this nightmare. All right. Um, so I also did the other thing I wanted to do, uh, for today's episodes, I wanted to respond to this, uh, this video I've been getting, uh, more and more, particularly lately, uh, particularly over the last week.

30:52I guess maybe it's since maybe it's because of the Alan Dershowitz debate or the way that that went. But now I'm getting a lot of people sending me Victor Davis Hanson clips saying that I got to take on this guy. This is the guy who really will smack down my shit, which is kind of interesting. I've been through several layers of, uh, I'm really trying to find the Tootsie role in the end of this Tootsie pop, but everybody keeps saying that this next guy is going to be the guy who smacks me down. You know, I remember when people were telling me I was going to get lumered by Laura Loomer. Um, and then after I debated Laura Loomer, I bet, remember that was the big knock, like, Oh yeah, you'll do that to Laura Loomer.

31:39She doesn't know anything, but why don't you try that with Dennis Prager, you know? And then, then of course, Douglas Murray was supposed to be the big bad wolf. And even this, as we were saying with Alan Dershowitz going into it, I was like, well, I guess he is the most accredited, accomplished arguer of any of the Warhawks. So let's see that. And of course, he had nothing to I will say, you know, I like Victor Davis Hanson. I read two of his books. I think two of his books, definitely one of his books. I think I read two of his books and I've watched a bunch of his lectures and stuff. He's, you know, he's like the best of the neocon guys in many ways.

32:16And he, well, he, what was interesting of like all those, I don't know if he was ever like technically a self-identified neoconservative, but he certainly supported George W. Bush's whole war on terrorism. And, but, you know, he's a really interesting, very smart, very well-read guy. And to his credit, I will say he, unlike a lot of the other neocons, he dealt with and grappled with the Trump moment way better than any of them. You know, like a lot of the other neocons, like when Trump rose, you know, they just kind of shrieked racism and, you know, a rejection of the global international order.

32:58And he was at least Victor Davis Hanson was at least kind of like, no, it's not racism. it's like an understandable reaction against mass demographic change. And then he actually endorsed the idea that we should really change the global world order. I think not in the way that some of us more sane people would like. Okay. That being said, he definitely also supported this war in Iran and it's a disaster, but people keep sending me his thing. And then a bunch of people, I guess this just went viral today. So a bunch of people were sending me this clip. Now this is not, you know, this is a, I don't know what interview this was.

33:30I know he just did Patrick David show, but this isn't from that. But he's going around doing all these podcasts. In fact, he's done Pierce Morgan and I think even debated some people. So maybe me and him could get a debate going. Maybe he's the guy I've been looking for to try to argue against this thing. And hey, look, I've created these moments before by just talking them into existence. In fact, it's the only way I've ever created anything. I just podcast about it and then maybe it comes true. so anyway let's take apart uh these arguments because you know how it is we can't let any of these arguments stand um here is victor this is yeah this is like a version someone took out of the video and put a background you know how people do that anyway it's the argument that matters let's play we're hearing a lot of charges since october 7th that israel has committed a litany of war crimes let's examine them very carefully because i think they tell us more about the accuser than they do the accused we're we're told by a lot of representatives in our own congress oh let's let's stop it right there let's let's stop right there here and you can pull it back a few seconds because i do want to get into what his argument is but i will say as is this is almost like a throwback now having to take on these things you know it's like when people would be like uh before i got the dennis prager debate people would be like here's a video dennis prager made and i'd take that on here's a video ben shapiro made about you know the history of israel and they're all just so loaded with propaganda.

34:56But sometimes, especially when there's a very skilled orator, a very smart person like Victor Davis Hanson, you do kind of have to like break this down. Let's look at this tactic because the first thing he does here is he goes, OK, so in the West, it's become popular, this idea that Israel's committed a litany of war crimes. OK, that's the very specific accusation that Israel's committed a litany of war crimes. And then his next sentence out of his mouth, Tell me, you guys just heard this. I'm not I'm getting this right. The next sentence out of his mouth is let's examine that closely. OK, so like the claim is they've committed a litany of war crimes.

35:35The next sentence is let's examine that closely. And how much money you want to bet the next thing we're going to do is not examine any of that closely. In fact, the next sentence out of his mouth is, I would say that this accusation says more about the accuser than it does about the accusation. Wait, so we've already moved in just to the very next sentence. We've moved from let's examine the claim to see whether the claim is correct or not to like a comment on the character of the person who brought it up. I'm sorry, dude. Like this is one of the reasons why fucking Zionists lose and lose and lose and lose this PR game is that it's just like after a while, man, people notice that people notice that it's like, why is this one subject that you're not allowed to kick the tires on?

36:27It's like it's like the only subject that I'm not allowed to like kick the tires on and walk around the car and kind of take a look and go, hey, well, what's up with this? Well, what's up with that? It's like, you know, I'm sorry. If people are claiming they've committed a litany of war crimes and you go, let's examine that closely. The next sentence that followed would be like the accusation is that IDF soldiers were using toddlers as target practice. Let's examine the evidence for that. okay there's two in-depth harrett's pieces where there's six different idf soldiers who testified to say you know what i mean like let's go through the evidence go through the claim there's there have also been claims that were wrong go through some claims that were debunked i mean i you know anyway here let's let's keep playing by a lot of representatives in our own congress mostly on the democratic side not all tucker carlson for example candace solens but also zaron mandami and others have said that israel is an apartheid state in other words it has racial enclaves but there's nothing in the israeli constitution that requires you to be jewish in fact there's two million arabs living freely voting freely inside israel

37:41like okay so again if you may notice this is uh and and i don't know what to say man it's just Like this is what they all rely on. And I know some people do hold Victor Davis Hanson up with some esteem. But and I will say, you know, one of the things in debating Alan Dershowitz, in fact, it was it was Daryl Cooper said to me, I talked to him on the phone after I debated Alan Dershowitz. And he said at one point he goes, I forget what he said, but he said it was like you were arguing like with a computer who hasn't updated its software since 1995, you know, and I mentioned that on the other show the other day that it's like, none of these arguments are new.

38:26And not even that none of them are new. I mean, none of them have even been updated in 30 years. It's the same exact script. And the truth is that like all this stuff has just been debunked. And they're like almost just pretending that doesn't exist, that this hasn't been spread yet. that people don't know. But anyway, it's just obviously that none of this is working. But so to Victor Davis Hanson here is going to say, so if you notice right away, let's just get into some of the details here. Immediately was the first claim. Oh, there's been this claim that there's been a litany of war crimes committed by Israel.

39:06Let's examine that closely. People on the left say things, and now people on the right kind of sound like the left. They claim it's an apartheid state. Let's get into that. Well, wait a minute. this is a totally different claim. Like he just, he, he made the first claim, didn't debunk it at all after saying, let's examine it closely. And now he's onto apartheid state. Look, feel however you feel about war crimes, feel however you feel about apartheid. Those are different things. Those are different claims. They are not the same thing. There have been apartheid states like South Africa that didn't commit war crimes.

39:35There have been states that committed war crimes, like, I don't know, Russia, that isn't a apartheid state. I don't know. The two things don't go hand in hand necessarily. They're different. So he's moved the goalpost to a completely different claim. Now he attempts to debunk the second claim and he don't debunks the second claim by claiming this is ridiculous because there's millions of Arab citizens in Israel and they can vote freely in the elections. It's like, yes, it, the Israel proper is about 80 % Jewish, 20 % Arab, and they have free elections. And guess who wins to be the governing party every single time?

40:18Okay, yes, that is true. But that's not what anybody's talking about when they call Israel an apartheid state. They're talking about the people who live in Gaza and the West Bank, who Israel's had control of since 1967. The complaint is about those people and saying that they don't have voting rights, even though they live under Israeli rule. Whether or not Israel claims officially that they're part of their government or not. They live under the rule of that government and have for 60 years and they don't have voting rights. So pointing out that the 20 % of Arabs in Israel do have voting rights just has nothing to do with the claim.

40:53So he threw out one claim, said, let's examine that, then just abandon it, threw out a second claim, pretended to disbunk it with information that has nothing to do with the actual claim. That, my friends, is some sophistry. That's bullshit. That's why this shit doesn't work in debates. It doesn't work when there's pushback against it. Anyway, let's keep playing. Two member Arab nations, almost all of them require... Just bring it back a second there, Natalie, so I can get the full thing. Thank you. ...that requires you to be Jewish. In fact, there's 2 million Arabs living freely, voting freely inside Israel.

41:28In contrast, of the 22 member Arab nations, almost all of them require Islam as the national religion. And of the 30 Muslim countries, Arab and non-Arab alike, about 23 of them make it a crime to be an apostate from Islam. Does anybody ever say that these are apartheid states? Do you really believe that if you were a trans community, you could start a movement in Iran? Could you have a Mormon chapter on the West Bank? Could you build a new cathedral of christian worship in istanbul today under erdogan you think there's a gay rights parade going on in gaza no no these are apartheid they eliminate and marginalize communities let's look at another charge that we hear settler all right let's pause it let's pause it right there okay then then just bring it back a couple seconds and we'll take on the uh when he says let's look at another charge so look i mean it's again like i said this this argument it's like all of them it It just it depends.

42:30And this is why I do these debates. This is why I think the debates are interesting and why I do think there's value in them. And I understand there's problems with debates and there's problems with debate culture. And yes, there are people who are too much just trying to win and get an own and not have a good faith exchange of ideas. But man, when they're good or when they actually demonstrate something, I think they really are important. And I think like with look with this issue with the pro Israel guys, they just always have to use these fucking framing tricks that are just obviously tricks like, dude.

43:08And I hate that term. What about is I hate when people use it, but this is like if it ever applied to anything, this is it right there. What? You say Israel's an apartheid state? Well, let me just talk about it's obviously the claim of apartheid state is a claim about the millions of Palestinians that live in Gaza and live in the West Bank under Israeli occupation. OK, so first I'm going to just pretend that the complaint is about Arab citizens of Israel and go, what are you talking about? They all have voting rights and then go look over here at all these other states. They do bad things and you don't call that apartheid.

43:43Well, all right. I mean, look, when you say that, if you notice, he starts slipping a lot of things in there. Are you when he starts saying, well, could I just go build a transgender cathedral in the middle of Iran or Saudi Arabia? Or could I, you know, start preaching against Islam in the middle of Syria? Or could, you know, like whatever other thing he has? And it's like, well, for the record, no, you could not do that. And please don't try to do that. And that would be that would be a fantastic point if the claim that I had made or the debate topic resolution was Iran is a very free, open minded place.

44:28Right. Like if I had claimed that Tehran is a bastion of religious liberty or something like that, then it would be a very good counter to say, well, in fact, it's not. and you couldn't open any, you know, you couldn't open a church in the middle of Tehran. Like, okay, that's true. But what the fuck does that have to do with the claim of Israel being an apartheid state? I mean, isn't it so obvious when you just look at it? Like, this is just a distraction, dude. And the truth is that nobody, I mean, I don't know, correct me if I'm wrong, there's always some loon online, but nobody is making the argument that Tehran is a bastion of freedom or that the Saudis practice, you know, religious liberty or that whatever.

45:10There aren't all these problems all along the place. And this is what's interesting is what happens is. Israel has right, as we know, they have a special relationship with the United States of America. They get more aid than any other country in the world. And then the countries who are like in second and third place get the aid because of Israel, you know, like Egypt gets the aid to be friendly with it, with Israel. They get more foreign aid. They get more support. They get unconditional support from the U.S. They call it the special relationship that even when they defend it, they acknowledge that it's a different relationship than we have with anybody else.

45:46Even like the U.K. is not as close with Israel, who's not even an official ally. It's all craziness. And then in defense of that, if that's ever examined, they go, hey, we're the only democracy in the Middle East. We're the most humanitarian country, the most moral army in the world. We do more to prevent civilian deaths. We are a first world democracy in a sea of, you know, autocratic theocracy or whatever. And then if you respond to that and you go, no, you're not. You're an apartheid state. You're not a democracy. Then they go, well, what about Iraq? You know, this is all just ridiculous. Yes, nobody's saying.

46:26But again, if we were to, let's say we were to elevate Saudi Arabia to the special relationship status of Israel and we went, no, no, no. Now we're going to give Saudi more aid than anybody else. Now we're going to support them unconditionally. Now we're going to fight wars on behalf of them, fight wars with them, all of that stuff. And then people started talking about the Saudi human rights abuses. That's totally reasonable. I mean, it's reasonable to talk about it now, but it would be more reasonable to talk about it then. and it wouldn't be an excuse to go, but look at all these other countries.

46:55They do bad stuff too. Just has nothing to do with anything. All right, guys, let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show, which is Quince. 48:48That's quince.com slash p-o-t-p for free shipping and 365-day returns. All right, let's get back into the show. All right, let's keep playing. No, no, these are apartheid. They eliminate and marginalize communities. Let's look at another charge that we hear settler colonialist this means that israel were interlopers let me ask you something israel to modern day israel we have archaeological and linguistic evidence that jews were living there 3 500 oh dude pause it jesus christ here pause it man this is just every bit as bad as like one of these dennis prager videos what's his word interlopers meaning like invaders or whatever.

49:34So he says the charge, now we've moved on to another charge. By the way, he didn't defend the apartheid charge at all or the war crimes charge. He just mentioned that they're charges and then just danced around the fact that they're both obviously true. Like, I don't know. Israel's had control of like six or seven million people that have been denied voting rights for 60 years. It's an apartheid state. And yes, do they commit war crimes? almost every war crime in the book. Yes. Anyway, so now we're on to the charge of settler colonialism. And I mean, it's just, does everybody see? Is my job even necessary anymore?

50:13Everyone sees the dirty trick he just pulled, right? He goes, oh, they're settler colonials. They're interlockers. So the accusation is they're settler colonial, sorry, settler colonialism, that they would be settler colonizers. So that's the accusation. But how could they be invaders? How could modern Israel be invaders when we know archaeologists could tell you Jews have been here all along? Okay, well, the dirty trick there is that modern Israel and Jews are not interchangeable terms. And of course, this is ridiculous. Like, all right. First of all, the founders of Israel were European. They weren't the Jews who were there the entire time.

50:58That would be Sephardic Jews, not Ashkenazi Jews who came over from Europe. And to say that they've been there the whole time, that there's always been a Jewish presence in what is now Israel. Well, yeah, that's true. But what percentage of the population? Oh, yeah, like 5%. Yes, there was a tiny population of Jews that were there the entire time, but nobody denies that. In fact, the pro-Palestinian people bring that up all the time because their point is that before the state of Israel, everyone lived like relatively in peace. Like there were Jews and Arabs and Christians or Jews and Arabs living side by side, Christians and Muslims, you know.

51:36And so anyway, yes, it's true. But like, again, if I don't know, like if there's if there's like, let's say that there's five percent of an area you live in is is Thai is from Thailand. OK, and then Thailand invades and creates a state and takes over the whole country. You wouldn't just be like, well, I mean, they didn't take it over. Thailand, Thai people have been here the entire time. Like, well, yeah, a little percentage of them. What does that have to do with that? And the point is that a bunch of Europeans came over and created a state, evicted a whole bunch of people. It never let them back in.

52:14And they've ruled over those people this whole time. How are you actually taking on the argument? I don't even really love the term settler colonialism. I don't know how useful it is or isn't. But like, yeah, the point is that it wasn't, Europeans had come in many times and dominated local populations. And we called this colonialism. We called this empire, empiricism, right? And so, not empiricism, excuse me, empire. um uh and so you know like that okay so that's there's you have something like let's say the french um uh colonization of algeria right so the french go and they take over algeria and they make it part of the french empire and the the french government rules it and they collect taxes and they run the government services and they bring in their way of life and all this shit right But then you had a situation like Israel where a bunch of Europeans went and started a government there.

53:27But this wasn't Europeans who had a country back home. This wasn't like France coming in and conquering Algeria or Britain coming in and ruling over whoever, India or later Syria or Palestine or wherever. this was a bunch of stateless Europeans who had their own story of their own persecution story much of which is very true and whatever but like there were a bunch of stateless Europeans who came in and did the same thing like formed the government that you know ethnically cleansed a bunch of people ruled over them but they didn't have a state back home right they were settling and colonizing the place that's the accusation and what are you doing to take that on to say no because there were some Jews here the whole time that's not true how does that disprove anything

54:17what would that be like if I were to just go take over an area where there's been some Jews that then okay nothing happened okay let's keep playing people who spoke early Hebrew who practiced the Jewish faith and lived on the land that is now israel okay so pause it so actually so so the actual argument is that because there were some people on who's who were on the land who practiced judaism and spoke hebrew therefore it's okay for european jews to come create a state there like what so like if italy just conquered manhattan they could be like there's been italian people here the entire time dude there were people speaking italian by the way hebrew is not the language that the zainas spoke they revived a dead language to start the project of of israel and they chose the place because of this line of jews that had been there the whole time um but they they spoke yiddish or russian or whatever um anyway so i mean this is just such a non-argument like because there were some Jews, because Jews there, and again, single digit percentage of the population, because there were 8 % of them were Jews, therefore European Jews can come take over the whole thing.

55:42It's not settler colonialism anymore. This is bullshit. This is dumber than the leftists who use the term objectively, no matter how you feel. Let's keep playing. Where did the Arabs come from? They swept in from Asia into the Middle East and North Africa, and as settler colonialists conquered Byzantine and earlier Roman territories that had been Western. All right, just pause it again. Man, this was just, I mean, again, this is true. And Victor Davis Hansen is a very interesting historian, so he could probably give you some great lecture about this and have all bits of information that I don't know.

56:20Very smart guy. But what does this have to do with anything, man? Like it's, it's, they just oscillate back and forth from non-argument to non-argument. It's like, you're conquering these people. No, we're not. Cause there were always some of our people within some of those people. Okay. But you're still conquering those people. Well, other people have conquered people in the past. No kidding. I know the, you're right. That is true. Did you know that the Arabs are from Arabia? Well, what the heck are they doing way over here off of Arabia? Yeah. it's because they moved around and conquered. And that's all of history is the story of one people raping and pillaging and conquering another people.

56:59But that doesn't just mean that we think it's okay to do that now. I mean, Jesus Christ. Yes. Muslims once conquered and invaded people. So did Europeans. So did Asians. So did the native Americans. So did everybody. Right, right. It's still bad to do that now. Okay. I still don't want my tax dollars going to doing more of the pillaging. Thank you very much. All right, guys, let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show, which is, of course, Body Brain Coffee, the brainchild of Luis J. Gomez, the great Luis J. Gomez. 58:45Bodybraincoffee.com. promo code Dave20 for 20 % off. All right, let's get back into the show. Let's keep playing. The greatest church in Christendom was Hagia Sophia, built in the 6th century AD by the Emperor Justinian. It was the largest and most revered church in Christendom for a thousand years. And yet in the 15th century, settler colonialists under the sultan came in and conquered and settled and took over Asia Minor from the Byzantines. And they slapped minarets and appropriated, culturally appropriated, a Christian church and turned it into a mosque. They were settler colonialists. Wandomi's family are settler colonials.

59:28They were part of a British imperial project at the turn of the 19th to 20th century who put settlers from other areas of the British Empire into Africa to help advance their colonial control of the indigenous people. and even today mondami one percent indian community controls 65 percent of the gdp of uganda settler colonialist i could go on but this is a ridiculous charge um let's pause it right there i don't by the way i don't know i will i guess i'll defer to victor davis hansen he probably knows this shit better than me but i thought that that i was under the impression that that's not what the term settler colonialist meant.

1:00:08And that like the, the reason why the British, sorry, I haven't watched this whole video through, but I thought like the idea was that the British project in, in India and Africa wouldn't be settler colonialism. It would just be colonialism because they have a mother country. That's what I thought settler colonialism was. I thought it was the, but anyway, I could be wrong about that, but I thought that's what the term meant was the idea that you don't have a mother country that you're going to settle there and colonize at the same time. So Britain sending people to a colony wouldn't be settler colonialism.

1:00:40It would just be regular old colonialism, I thought, but I could be wrong about that. And I'll defer to Victor Davis Hanson on all the rest of the history there. That has nothing to do with any of the charges against Israel, you know? And even like, if you were, again, even if you could point to like a more egregious example throughout history that wouldn't prove that war crimes didn't take place. Like if somebody were to go like, oh, you think Milosevic committed war crimes in the Serbian civil war? She's just seeing what Adolf Hitler did. It's like, OK, yeah, but Milosevic also still committed war crimes.

1:01:14What does that mean? All right, let's keep playing. Settler colonialist. I could go on, but this is a ridiculous charge to lodge against Israel when of all of these settler colonial powers, it has the longest pedigree in one place. Now we hear about ethnic. Wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on, pause it. pause it right there so he just said did you catch that line he goes now this is such a ridiculous charge against israel because of all these settler colonialist powers they have the longest lineage there so then didn't you just admit that they're a settler colonialist power you said of all the i mean it's a freudian slip i suppose they're right but he said of all the settler colonialist powers they have the okay well that would put them in that category again this is so goofy dude the longest lineage but who cares like if you have a long lineage as a minority in a country that doesn't give other people from a different continent who maybe share some lineage maybe by the way share some lineage with you the right to come in and conquer the place the does that have to do with anything let's keep playing ethnic cleansing we're told that the israelis ethnically cleansed uh the gosans and often uh people in the west bank i don't know quite what that means but before i try to translate it we do know there's a lot of ethnic cleansers mr erdogan the president of oh my god okay just pause it for a second jesus christ is he actually going to make me use the term what about ism i don't think i've ever had to do that in one of these before but what is this there's a people say that Israel ethnically cleansed the people in Gaza like I don't know what that means but let me tell you about Erdogan let me tell you about some things other people have done what does it mean it means that they used to live where Israel is now and then men with guns made a move against their will and then told them they can't come back they said remember that house you used to live in you don't live there anymore you live in that refugee camp over there okay you follow me you follow me so far there's a people they live over here in a house man from an israeli militia comes over points a gun at those people says you walk this way they don't have a choice they walk that way he says you live in a refugee camp now now they live in a refugee camp.

1:03:44This refugee camp is in Gaza. The people in Gaza today, well, if they're a real old man, they're that guy. If they're younger than that, they're his kids. They're his grandkids. That's what people mean by ethnically cleansed. Now go on to tell me the crimes of other governments. How is this taking on the charge that Israel didn't ethnically cleanse these people. Yeah, keep playing. And into Israel, his government, not his own, but the Turkish government of which he is a continual successor to, ethnically cleansed all of the Greeks from northern Syracuse and occupied it, and then sent settler colonialists from Turkey.

1:04:25I haven't heard anybody complain about that. Is there a protest I missed at Columbia? Did Ilya Omar forget that? Or is she just gives a pass to a fellow Muslim country? While October 7th was transpiring far away in Muslim Azerbaijan, they were ethnically cleansing 150 ,000 Armenians from their ancestral home of nearly 1 ,000 years in the Nagorno-Karabakh corridor. I didn't hear a word from Ilya Noomar. I didn't hear a word from AOC. I didn't hear a word from Zoran Mondalmi. And then we come to genocide. genocide the israelis say they committed genocide believe me people who commit genocide we know we know who they are and they don't vaccinate the targeted population they don't send food they don't allow medical doctors and suppliers to go into the target pause it pause it right there um i mean jesus christ so he went through the ethnic cleansing he debunked it by pointing out that there's other states doing bad things that people and you don't hear about that i mean that is just not a defense against a state committing ethnic cleansing um again like yeah i know it's just so tired it goes it's like dude there are other crises in the world that probably deserve more attention than they get but it absolutely makes sense that the country that is only committing their crimes because they're backed up by the global empire that has a special relationship with that global empire, as we discussed before, it totally makes sense that citizens of the country that is the global empire would have a special focus on the country with a special relationship.

1:06:12It just makes total sense. So essentially, all of this is just a distraction. It does nothing to get to the point. Now, coming on to this genocide claim, okay, so if it's genocide, we know it. We know... the countries that commit genocide and the countries that don't. Okay, well, a lot of people are saying they know that Israel's committing a genocide right now. And what is his claim really going to be here? That Israel, what, because they sent in food? That's, oh, we know the states that commit genocide and they don't send in food. Like, dude, I mean, Hitler started creating concentration camps in what was it?

1:07:041940? Maybe 39 even. You know what? In fact, I think I shouldn't say that. It was even earlier than that. There were the first concentration camps. I think there were like a few of them were built in the earlier, in the mid 30s. But like certainly like a bunch of concentration camps had been built by 39, 1940. Um, you know, the Jews, there were still Jews left there, not that many, but there were still Jews left at the end of the war. Anyway, my point being, they were feeding them. I mean, I don't think they were feeding them great through much of the war. I think in fact, there were many who starved to death.

1:07:43I'm not arguing any of that, but like the, so now the, you know, the measure for whether you're ethnically cleansing is, has anybody else ethnically cleansed worse. And now the measure for genocide is like, well, did you feed them? Okay. If some food got in, if some aid got in, oh, some vaccines, you gave rounds of vaccines out then like, uh, I don't know. You know, so many of these things are just like, yeah, but none of this is really how you'd measure. Why don't you just measure the way they have conducted this war against the civilian population and then judge that for what it is. Why is the measure here, how much more sadistic and cruel they could have been or something like that.

1:08:21And it also, you got to understand why we've been going through this for years, but the reason why this argument never lands is because we're also aware of the context that Israel can't just openly commit a genocide, right? Like we do recognize that. We recognize that Benjamin Netanyahu can't just get on TV and go, well, yeah, we're committing a genocide in Gaza. That's what we're doing. Yeah. They're Amalek. We're destroying their children. We're going to kill them, right? Like if he did that, the world would put a stop to it. So in other words, yeah, they have to kind of at least do something.

1:08:52They can't just line up all the people and shoot them. So it just doesn't really mean anything to go, well, they could have denied more aid. Oh, so when they denied, so after the area had been fucking war torn for two years and then they cut off all aid for three months to the poor civilian population, my takeaway from that was supposed to be, but they had it, you know, they had allowed it in before and after. Oh, okay. Wow. Do you know, like even, by the way, do you know, like even the numbers that the Israeli exaggeration, their biggest, most bloomed number was that Hamas had 50 ,000 fighters at like their height.

1:09:38Which I don't believe they ever had that many, but whatever. They claim Hamas had like 50 ,000 fighters. They've destroyed like 350 ,000 homes. what is that it's destroying a people destroy like gaza it's one of the oldest like continuously populated areas in the world they just fucking destroyed it wiped it off the fucking map what are we arguing over what we call that yeah but some people got sandwiches in the middle of it okay yeah let's keep playing we'll wrap up soon but more importantly when israel was formed by 1950 there was 170 ,000 Arabs still in Israel that comprised 12 % of the population fast forward to 2026 guess what?

1:10:26Genocidal Israel saw the population of Arabs who are now Israeli citizens increased to 2 million and the percentage of non-Jews in Israel who were Arab Muslims increased to 2 million dude, but I mean by the way we can wrap up here but I don't even know where his numbers are because those are not the numbers I've seen. I thought it was, but from what I've read about it, like, and I don't know what exactly he's picking a starting point. Like he picked 1950 for whatever reason, rather than 48, which is the year the country was formed. So there might be something about that. But from what I've read, it's been about 80, 20 from the beginning of the state of Israel, the population.

1:11:05But you see what he does there? Even if that's true, even if it wasn't 80, 20 the whole time, and it was in fact, 88, 12 at one point, and then went from 88.12 to 80.20. And that's his big thing. Look, the Arab population inside Israel has increased up to 20 % and therefore they're not committing a genocide. Well, what's the obvious bullshit in that? The accusation isn't that Israel's committing a genocide against the Arab population of Israel. It's never been the accusation. The accusation has been that they've been committing genocide against the people of Gaza since October 7th, 2023. Sorry, showed my age there.

1:11:43Yeah, dude. I mean, look again, the reason why this is why I'd love to debate Victor Davis Hanson on this, because the reason why it's important to debate these guys on this is just to demonstrate how much like they really have nothing. And this whole thing, this whole goddamn rant, it's all designed to just kind of sound good. If you don't like pick it apart, if you don't just think about it and then you go, oh yeah, no, this is all nonsense. Nothing. All right. That's our episode for today. We'll be back tomorrow with a brand new one. Thanks to everybody for tuning in as always. Catch you tomorrow.
