In short

End-of-season Premier League review focused on relegation/near-relegation (Burnley vs Wolves), key match reactions (Liverpool–Brentford 1-1; Bournemouth–Forest 1-1), and debates about England World Cup squad selection (Tuchel’s rationale). The hosts also argue about European qualification rules (Champions League/Europa League drop-downs), Liverpool’s summer departures (Salah/Robertson) and whether it’s a mistake, plus a long Newcastle vs Sunderland “who’s the better team?” discussion and pre-season prediction/club ranking talk.

Guests

No named guests appear in the transcript. There are multiple recurring speakers (e.g., “Theo” and “Tom” are addressed), but their real-world identities/backgrounds aren’t provided.

Key claims

  • Burnley finished 19th/20th-level poor; Wolves are more likely to bounce back next season and will be harder to replace due to player sales.
  • Liverpool’s Salah likely played his last match for Liverpool; Curtis Jones assist is highlighted; Brentford’s Kevin Schade equalised.
  • Bournemouth’s 1-1 secured Europa League; hosts call the Champions League spot allocation “stupid” given Villa’s Europa win.
  • Tuchel’s England picks are defended as “best together,” but criticised as inconsistent in defence (Luke Shaw/Hall/Byrne/Spence/Henderson debates).
  • Liverpool’s Salah/Robertson exits may help Slot by moving on from the “old guard,” though internal club noise is questioned.
  • Newcastle vs Sunderland: Sunderland finished higher and in Europe; Newcastle argue injuries/cup games explain the league gap, while Sunderland argue they’re the better team.

Notable examples

  • Burnley: Adam Armstrong penalty opener; Zion Fleming equaliser; Sean Longstaff (Wolves) cited with 14 goals.
  • England squad debate: Luke Shaw vs DJ Ed Spence; Lewis Hall versatility; Henderson inclusion questioned.
  • Bournemouth/Forest: Morgan Gibbs-White goal contribution; Chris Wood off the post; “18th goal” referenced for Gibbs-White.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Pitchside. It's a glorious day to chit-chat about football. It's 30 degrees outside. It's hard. We are inside talking about footy at the end of the season. I love footy. Those weather warnings, guys. It's grit spot. It's grit spot. Shall I tell you what's even hotter? What? We're starting off with the bottom of the table, Burnley Wolves in today's Premier League review, guys.

1:11Is the elephant in the room or are we just going to wait? Well, technically the elephant isn't in the room yet. Yeah, it's going to be great, guys. It's going to be 33 degrees today. It's 33 yesterday as well. Guys, if you're inside watching this, what are you doing? I'm sick of seeing Yanks saying, oh, why can't you just deal with it? No, we do this every time. Yeah, they don't understand. but they're dumb yeah sorry dumb dumb this is bad for us because summer's actually probably going to be cooler if it's hot now it's going to be way cooler guys global whorming it's here and it's here to stay global whorning right so Will your team's actually like gone gone now season's over well they've been gone for a month they've been gone since October propping up the table but you did score first yeah on the board first penalty 1-0 yeah we'll take that Adam Armstrong friend of the show friend of the show good I feel a bit more positive Andre's staying.

2:03Yeah, I did see that. Which I find a bit mad. I'm a bit surprised. Why? So, I suppose it's now time to get off. Why is he staying? That's what I mean. Why is he staying? I've got a question. A bit weird. Obviously, Zion Fleming being the Burnley equaliser. Does he get bought by a Premier League club? I think so. I think he's pretty good. He's done well this season. I could see. He's proven that he's not right at his level. He's better than Brogia. Exactly. He's better than Brogia, mate. He's getting bought by everyone anyway. He's sparse alone. I could actually sit and sit your Coventry going pretty much with it or he might be better than that I think that makes sense isn't it you want to get a kibble striker yeah we'll take anyone 11 goals in the Premier season for a team he's done yeah I didn't realise and an array of goals as well like not just 29 games he probably gets a bigger move true but Sean Larson did also score 14 for Wolves yeah it's a good point we'll argue yeah he he was a purple patch player though, Larson.

2:59I think Fleming's actually popular. I do like Fleming. And we were better than Burnley were. I think he suits the league. Yeah, Burnley's styles very... And Everton could get him. Everton's not a bad shout. But I feel like would they have a bit of ego and rather go for... We know who they're going for. Who? Oh, Tony. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. A half queen. A half queen. Sorry about that. These two teams, 19th and 20th, are really poor with returns and points, 22 and 20. If you had to choose a team who's more likely to come up next season, who do you think is going to put a challenge in? Wolves.

3:35Yeah, Wolves. You'd say Wolves, I thought you really... I don't think Burnley will come back up. I think Wolves will. I also think players like Jadon, Anthony and Flamman who we've discussed, they'll probably get bought as well which makes it even harder for them to bounce back. And at the minute they don't have the old cheat code of a Dice or a Parker that just get them straight back up. Exactly. They've got... I don't think it was weird getting rid of... I don't see why they got rid of Scott Parker. You stick it out, you're relegated, and then you sack him a few games from the end. He's a proven manager to get you up, so you may as well have got rid of him halfway through the season.

4:07You say that right, but they did spend some money in the summer, when you actually look at it. But that's what I mean. But they may as well have sacked him halfway through the season when there was still a chance to survive under a new manager, rather than wait until a few games to the end, and it's like, right, now we'll get rid of the championship proven manager. Super late reactionary, yeah, for sure. That's just standard procedure, don't you, with these clubs a lot of the time. I feel like they just, it's, yeah. Well, another 1-1 in the Prem. We spoke about how important he was to the club last season because most of the teams' outcomes were decided.

4:38Liverpool, Salah's final game for Liverpool. Goal contribution on the score sheet. Assist for the Curtis Jones. I mean, it was a good pass. What a player. Yeah. What a player, man. And then Kevin Shard with the equaliser. Brentford can consider themselves to have had a good season. Oh, look who's turned off. Now he did. What are you doing here? Don't worry, mate. We've saved the juicy bits for you. Look at this cool guy with his sunglasses, bro. He's got a Guinness hat on. What are your thoughts on the Liverpool-Brentford game, Theo? It was fun, actually, wasn't it? You didn't see any of it. I watched the whole match of the day on the train home.

5:10I haven't seen anything, to be honest. It's not the boss. The only games I've watched were the games we watched here. Really? I ain't watching this shit. Yeah, it's the end of the season. We've got to care a little bit before it ends. Stupid boy. Not on the fresh tat as well. Oh, fuck. You've not seen it yet in person, have you? I've not seen any of it, yeah. There you go. That is mental. Can you see yours? Yeah, that's mental. Let's see yours. We're all hashtag tat, hashtag inks, guys. That's my favourite. I've always been a fan. You've got your mortal enemy written on your leg. It's not. No, it could have been Brogia.

5:45Tom's got his baby kicks on his leg. Honestly, I'd rather Al Teta on me than Brogia. And Brogia was being floated at one point. Really? He's a fucking prick, Roger. At least Arteta wins something. No, I think it's the other way around. Just because Bro's just shit at football. He's not a prick. He's also sexy. No, I love Arteta. Brentford obviously missing out on European football and in ninth there. If they'd have got a win, they would have been in a European spot. It's a shame for them. They really bottled it, didn't they? It's tough to go through. I know contextually at the start of the season, no, but they were in the driver's position.

6:18They were against the Liverpool side who were at home on Zalas' final day. No, it's not this game. In terms of like, they were around fifth and they were the ones right up there earlier in the season. In fairness to them, it's not like, you are right, they've been in the... They've been sniffing, haven't they? Positionally, they've been in a good spot, but it's been so tight. And also from 10th all the way up until Bournemouth, for the last two weeks, anyone could have got any place. The fact that Sunderland have ended up 7th is kind of mental. Yeah, we'll touch on that anyway. That's a big talking point.

6:47Shall we talk about the other one, one? Bournemouth Forest. Morgan Giveswight another goal contribution after being snubbed by Tuchel. He should be in the England squad. Yeah, he should be. I mean, we'll probably do a full segment on the England squad in a future episode. He's just brilliant though, isn't he? Yeah. He's absolutely essential. What is it? Is that 18th goal of the season for him? Chris Wood should have scored as well. Off the post. He's good. Yeah, they should have a lot. Yeah, look, he's a high-scoring Englishman and he gives away. Is he? He's not going. I know Watkins. most goals most goal contributions contributions yeah but I don't know I just think where would he play he wouldn't play well that's the issue isn't it but do you not want more quality in the squad but yeah I don't agree with a lot of the squad but that's the reason why Foden and Palmer haven't gone I get I get why he's not gone also he won't play I'm sorry yeah there is a difference in that I do think in those positions as well This is why, I feel like I'm a broken record, but this is why the likes of Bowen don't go, like, he's not taking Bowen, he's taking Madweke and he's taking Eze.

7:56They're doing it or have done it or play. On the highest level. They play for the biggest clubs, they're playing with the most pressure all the time. I understand Anderson's in the team, so you go, but I think in those prime positions, like, you're number 10, you want the bet, like, you want Bellingham, don't you? He plays for Real Madrid. Or like, I don't know. I think he's great. I think Gibbs White is great. You were all involved for Gibbs White before, weren't you? No, I've said all along I wouldn't have had him in. Oh, really? Yeah. No, you said it wrong. You didn't think he'd go. I didn't think he'd go.

8:24But you would take him. But I could understand if he took it. Based on form. Yeah. But he does, that's not how, unfortunately then, I don't know. Elliot Anderson, on the other hand, at Forest, is a star. We also don't have any players in that position. That's the difference there. Do you think he gets a big move this summer? Yeah, he's gone, isn't he? Well, Man United, it's basically a shoot-up for United City, right? But they both might unless he gets held hostage. The only reason I thought this was actually more shocking Gibbs-White is he is versatile. Yeah. Like, he can play off the left. He can play deeper.

8:57And I do feel a bit sorry for him, but fuck him, he's a dingle bastard. I don't even... It wasn't even a case of, like, he's played well to, you know, prove a point to Tushley. That's just been his level the entire season as well. It's sort of a similar run of form like Watkins at the moment, isn't he? He's sort of turned on since January. He's kind of had to play himself into contention whereas Gibbs White has just been... Watkins was always going to go though but I think... Was he? At the start of the season he was always going to go. He's always England's number two, isn't he? No, yeah, but I'm saying if you're basing it totally off form then there was a conversation around him not going.

9:29No, I don't think there was ever situation. Nah, if he had a bad season he wasn't going there. He was Keenan Watkins and then it was who's the third striker and he's ended up going with Tony. I agree. Bagging goals in. At the start of the season Watkins was shit if he continued that far he wouldn't have been in. Go in Everton, mate. Before we move back to the final day, I wanted to ask him about Tuchel. He's came and said the reason these players he's picked... He's a German spy. He's admitted it. Correct. Did you see how it went up? The reason is he believes this bunch of players are the best at playing together of what he's tested so far.

9:59So in the losses that he did, is that not what we want? Have you been wanting managers to do this? In his defence, the people he's left out have had the sort of fewest minutes under him, right? The only issue I have with it, I actually think he's actually cooking something here. The only issue I have is it doesn't seem consistent with every pick. For example, like a Luke Shaw or a Lewis Hall, I think I'd prefer Dan Byrne. And then Dan Byrne can play centre-half. Yeah, but then you have DJ Ed Spence. Yeah, DJ Ed Spence. I agree with that one. I get Spence. Jed Spence is a shocking goal. Do you not think Luke Shaw should go over DJ Ed Spence?

10:32I'm sorry. Is it because he's versatile? No trend either? But the thing is, Lewis Hall can play midfield as well. He can play right back if he needs to. Maybe it's a case of he's picked Levermento and DJ Ed because they're both left and right backs. Lewis Hall can play right back as well. They've played under him a lot, haven't they? But my issue with that is these players have played under him a lot a lot of the time because other players have been out or injured. But even... You can't just pick it on games we've played against Japan. The reason he introduced Dan Byrne into his squad is because he had good league form.

11:05But his league forms fell off. He started playing less. Lewis Hall's been great in the league Dan Burke should be anywhere near the England squad should he really I don't know if he's just there as a Henderson thing you know what I mean we've got Henderson in the squad yeah no but apparently we need more I actually don't know if I agree with the Henderson inclusion I know it's all like I don't think he should be there I don't waste any space on him Luke Shaw's got just as much England experience as Henderson yeah I mean look I do get it because again if you with Henderson right Henderson's never going to play or he may come on at the end of a dead rubber game.

11:39So if you don't take Henderson, who do you take? I don't know, Wharton. Wharton's not going to play. So he's looking at it as, I want them on the lead. Do you know what? I don't think anyone really has an issue with the midfield and forward line. I know you could say, where's Foden and Palmer? No, I don't mind that. I think it's more the defence. Starting 11 is really good. Oh, 100%. You can't even argue. It's the defence. But also, at the end of the day, Reeve, you make a great point there. It's the starting 11. I mean, how much of these guys who are coming along are actually going to play a minute?

12:06No, I think you'd be surprised. There's more games now, isn't there, as well? You only need to win one game in the group. They're going to be playing every three or four days. Yeah, in heat. So you do need, you're going to need your squad, for sure. Part of me is like, at least he's doing it his way. If we came in doing the same thing, like, we've never won it. So, like, so at least he's, we have won it. It's not in our lifetime. But like, at least he's going in and he's doing it his way. He clearly has a process that he's trusting going with. So let's see. It might be an absolute stinker, but we also might just win the World Cup.

12:33Just going back to the game itself On the other half of the 1-1 Obviously Bournemouth getting Europa League football Is absolutely insane It's a bit harsh they didn't get Champions League I don't know why that rule exists It's because Villa was 4th not 5th right? That's what I mean That's stupid We got given 5 Champions League spots So why does it matter if they're 4th or 5th? It shouldn't It's ridiculous So where's that other spot go then? It's the incredible season for Bournemouth regardless Did the top 5 get Champions League Villa have won the Europa League so technically they've qualified for the Champions League through the Europa League the spot should get to Bournemouth but where does is it going to a different league then or something where's that spot that would have been it's probably in the in the stratosphere in the ethos it's floating them up but yeah if Villa would have finished fifth and fourth sixth gets Champions League which just doesn't make sense to me guys that's no one bullshit sad times I don't like how many teams we get anyway in the Champions League like yeah you could imagine Real Madrid at the vitality to be fair though Bournemouth and Europa League they have a chance there They have a chance in the Europa League To go and actually go win it Have you seen the state of the Europa League?

13:35Friendly Ronaldo played it No but I mean in the actual Champions League Alright yeah Do you think Bournemouth can win the Europa League? Yeah Have you seen the Champions League? Have you seen the Europa League? Fucking pants Freiburg mate That is one of the worst That is one of the worst European performances I've ever seen Do we miss Champions League teams dropping down? I think they just diluted it With the amount of teams in the Champions League So like back in the day right Teams like Villa and Liverpool Would have been in the UEFA Cup Yeah now they're in the Champions League Bournemouth and Sunderland are in the Europa League and they'll be the best teams in it but that is credit to Bournemouth and Sunderland but the only thing the club's dropping down is that now we actually probably get a new set of winners yeah for sure I know but like more European champions there's more justice in like if you're in that competition you probably go the furthest rather than look at some of the teams it makes it a worse competition though as well it does it makes it less Adolescent Madrid you know watchable these are all drop-down teams though play the games but like it's a bit unfair you're one of the only teams to qualify for that competition and then you suddenly just have Barcelona or whatnot I don't think it's that unfair because you go into that competition knowing that's the rule like you know and they have the right to drop in because they qualified in a better competition I just think it's too diluted especially with the bigger nations like England like we've got eight teams in Europe that's ridiculous realistically nearly half the league are qualifying for Europe shows how dominant we are but it's not that's not dominance that's just we're just handed well it is dominance because we've got teams in every single European final and they're all going fire and they're all going to win it there shouldn't be three European I mean I understand the conference league stuff but there shouldn't be this many teams I think it should be the top three corner five of the Champions League well now that's going against all kind of then you get like maybe one or two it's always been top four it has been top four that makes me feel weird but I I don't think four finishing four Finishing 20 points Behind the winners In England You should qualify For the Champions League I think that goes Against the essence Of the quality Of the competition Personally Because there are now More teams in the Champions League I don't like that I don't like the fact Fucking Kurosawa At the World Cup It's a waste of time Do you know what Tom I want competition You're living in the past bro Italy aren't there But Cape Verde are there Italy are shit To be fair Italy are fucking shit Italy haven't qualified For a World Cup They're not shitter Than Cape Verde Cape Verde did it They haven't qualified For a World Cup Since 2006 Since they won it Make a kit value better than Italy.

15:58That's how they'll manage to beat us in the Euros. They've actually changed their way World Cup qualifying can make it next time because basically Italy had to play eight, maybe 10 games. I think it's eight to qualify and then other nations only had to play four or five. So they've now made it equal so everybody plays the same game. It's going to be like the league phase. It's going to be like the Champions League. You know, just to count on your point though, it wouldn't detract from the game, well, like the competition anyway because all of the top five leagues have all of their representation anyway.

16:28I know. It's just the shitter teams that... I think there should be less teams. You see less teams and more shit teams? No. Less teams, less shit teams. I think you should go back to... I don't think Scotland... Scotland should have to qualify. The shit leagues should have to qualify. For the Champions League, I'm talking about. Yeah. I mean, qualifies in the qualifying stage is what they used to do. I like the old format. I'm not just being an unk, but... You are. I like the old format when it's group. It's called the Champions League and teams who finish in fifth are qualifying for it. Rename it then What to?

16:58Yeah, you've got an issue With the name, yeah But I mean Not the champions of anything, is it? There's about five teams In the Euro champions Wankers But realistically They are some of the best teams Across Europe It's just they're not The bigger names in Europe Are they? Are Liverpool One of the best teams in Europe? They're shit They are one of the best teams in Europe They're shit And Europe's washed Well, yeah Probably You don't think Liverpool Are one of the best teams in Europe? No You think Liverpool Are one of the best teams in Europe? Well, it depends how you define Best teams If you take in all of Europe, then you have Belgium there, don't you?

17:27Yeah. What's wrong with Gank? There's four teams that are better than them already. There's four teams in England that are better than them. Yeah, but that still makes them one of the best, doesn't it? Okay, sorry. I understand what you're trying to say. Take it back. I meant within the Champions League then. How high would you have Liverpool? I mean, where did they get the quarter-finals Liverpool? Yeah, PSG. Yeah, still kind of one of them. They might have lost to the champions. Might have lost to the champions, mate. Quite literally, they're one of the best teams in Europe. Literally, our top eight in Europe.

17:53The team that they lost to is currently in the final. Yeah, they're going to... They are crap. I'd say you made a big poo-poo there. You understand what we're talking about. I think you chose the wrong team. I think the words you're looking for is they're shit. We can agree with that, but they're still like top 10. Let's just say, hey, Salah. Salah's gone, bro. You need to let that go. It's a totally different Liverpool now. Let's quickly talk about that because before Theo came in, Salah and Robertson leaving. Is this a mistake from Liverpool? Have they backed Slott instead of the players? I actually think it will benefit Slott going forward because he can sort of make it.

18:24I know he's already had transfers last summer, but I feel like maybe there's a part of him that he can't move on without the old guard sort of leaving in a weird way. I agree. The thing is, you see that? I think it was Kirk has had an interview the other day and it was like, there's a lot of noise around the club, but inside the club, it's completely different. And I'm like, Salah was inside the club, but he was making statements. I'm like, what do you mean? And then posting pictures with all the new signs as if like, his statement's like, yeah, all the players agree. Well, do you reckon he's taking the training sessions?

18:51yeah so it's like I'm like I'm sorry the noise is coming from inside the club and then we're hearing it and repeating it he's already going to come out and go yeah it's a fucking mess it isn't but like you can't see it what do you expect to do that it's like you really value players interviews and things you read far too much no no but no but it's like there's an earthquake right in my village and my house has been knocked to shreds and I go outside and go to the news I'm like no it's actually okay in there guys I'm like we can see yeah we can see I just wouldn't talk about it you can't see though no no I can't see.

19:22What? No, I mean... I thought you were more glasses. No, I'm talking about within Liverpool. No, I can see the club legend making a statement saying everyone thinks slots are... Jesus. I thought so as well when he said it. That's one player. That's like your neighbour next door. He's the leader. He's the leader. It's like the head of the city council, the mayor, the president. That's just what spin is though, isn't it? They're always going to try and deflect the tension away. No, I agree, but you can spin things when it's rumours and stuff and it's when it's top. But when it's literally a Twitter post from your club legend, don't spin it because he's literally wrote it down and posted it, lad.

19:57Nah, fuck it, man. Salah's one of the best Premier League footballers ever. What's Slott done? Won a Premier League? We're not even on about that. Such an irrelevant point to me. What, are you talking about Salah? No. I'm talking about Earthquake, really. Oh, now we're finally on it. We've waited a while, but congratulations, Newcastle Football Club. I'm finishing 12th with the Premier League. Do you remember when you got really angry at me for suggesting that Sundance are going to finish you don't know about football bro they got you up nah we had a great season guys we lived the dream we did actually I mean obviously stinking into season to a team who were just faltering as well they've actually finished with you do you know what the problem is it's like we actually we were actually yeah this thing we actually were alright for the last few games then we just came out here last day and just been absolutely shitting some of your players in that game were embarrassing by the way yeah there's there's a lot of angry fans see the Willow one on the wall yeah look like I said to him I was like realistically he's not going to make a difference but like at least you have to at least look like you're trying come on lads do you know there's only four teams in the league who've lost more games than you yes and they're all in relegation zone all four how'd you write that out and then one of them aren't you're an idiot is that not it Spurs as well and Spurs Spurs lost the same same but that lost the same amount of games as Spurs no but on the positive side on the positive side we don't draw much we only ever win yeah because you ball lose you finish two points ahead of Leeds Shit You don't Nah but Can we talk about No but we're also We're also four points off Europe So it was a close It was a close chase You've won less than you've I mean Yeah you've won less than you've lost We're four points off Europe Minus Negative goal difference The team are in the Champions League this year So how do you bounce back from here then Lewis Honestly I don't even know If or how But all I'm excited about Is like just having like a mental transfer window And just seeing what the fuck happens I really don't think he's going to be as mental as you think You think six or seven Oh no Six or seven arriving No, no, it's going to be a huge window for us.

21:53How big is huge? It's supposed to be like 15, in an outgoing, it's supposed to be like 15 moves. Zion Fleming has won when you discuss that. I'm just kind of excited to see who we get. Transfer windows are fun when you sign people in it. Last one wasn't, if I'm honest. What big boys are actually going to go? Tenali's going to Arsenal, I think. Tenali's going to Arsenal. Which will be unbelievable. Bruno's going to go to Man United. No, Bruno's staying. He ain't. Livermental probably staying, but he might stay because of his injury. Gordon's already gone Bruno's stock's about even higher after this Harvey Barnes the thing is I don't actually think people make a move for Bruno he's like 29 now we keep him one of the best in the Premier League yeah we keep him why are you saying 29 that's not his pro I know but I know but yeah but no when you sign someone who's 29 for like big money you know that's like you're not getting that back essentially you get three years out of him Trostein was 28 it's a bit like when Man United signed Bruno Fernandes at what 28 it's a bit different to Bruno isn't it like 20 million the loss, that's fine.

22:50That's worth it. But Bruno will be going for more than 20 million. People won't be signing Bruno Gimoures to sell him on. Yeah, that's why there's a reason why you'd look at like a Tenale or other options. How old does Ronaldo because clubs do keep selling values as well. I'm on about the top team won't worry about his selling values. It's a question. Bruno's not going to go. Also, Midfield is with good football IQ. Age isn't their... I don't think he goes. Detriment, you know what I mean? I don't think he goes. 29's actually fine. I think I'm happy to admit I think Tonani goes I think Liverpool goes I think we should sell those players Gordon's gone Harry Barnes linked to Villa fucking 12 the problem is the problem is we have some really bad expensive players who we can't sell on we might have to sell Wisser for like 10 million should we just keep him at that point then I think we're going to but we need another striker someone's going to have to go out of Isula, Vultomada or Wisser because none of those can be our standard striker.

23:51Is there any strikers that you've got your name, like your eye on? Me personally. Boyle Mbappe? Yeah. I honestly have no idea. Look, in an ideal world, we find a system that works around Vultomada because he's clearly the best, but I don't think he's a striker in the prime. I think he's more of a 10. So who knows? But we're linked with loads of people, but the problem is Liverpool are also linked with the same players. Keep scrolling well if you want to get to the same players. So we know what happens. There's that guy from Monaco who we were in with. And now we've had time, obviously we were talking about the end of the stream and you've had time to sleep on it now.

24:22Do you now admit to learn a better team than you? No, I don't think they are. What? How can you possibly say that? I mean, I was getting inked up at this point so I didn't really pay attention. Mate, they're literally in Europe and you're in 12th. Yeah, they finished five points above us but we went further in domestic competitions and we also went for, we had Champions League. The team has done a double over you and finished five places higher than you. Five points as well. For my understanding. The places makes it sound way worse than it is. Look, we shouldn't be anywhere near, we should be miles ahead of them, don't get me wrong, but it's five points.

24:58They are literally the better team. So do you not think it's relevant to the injuries, the domestic games we've played and the Champions League games? In front of you right now, there's literally a whole format that determines that. Okay, wait, wait. Do you think us playing more games this season is relevant to a team's league position? No, because you're... You don't think that's relevant? No, because you're a team in the Champions League. You've been equipped in the Premier League challenging for Europe the last fucking five years or whatever. So why? They've just come from the Championship.

25:24They lost most of their players in January, by the way, to African Cup of Nations. So they went with like a month without that. They had Xhaka, their best player, injured towards the end of the season. Everyone has injuries. You've got a bigger and better squad to cope with that. No, no, okay. Let me respond. No, let me respond. Okay, so why when we talk about Man United and on about the great job Carrick's done, you yourself, you treat that very different with, Man United's doing all this, but that's without cup competitions. But when Newcastle have cup competitions, you see it's not relevant to league positions.

25:52Because we're talking about the job I think Carrick will do next season with the cup competitions. This season, Man United are better than Villa. Man United are better than Liverpool. Man United are better than Bournemouth. Yeah. So you think... That's why they pay for points. Liverpool and Villa have got furthering competitions than Man United. Man United haven't been in any of them competitions. So you think Carrick will do worse with more cup games? Yeah. Yeah. Yes. So a team that plays more games will struggle more with those more games. No, no. What are you talking about? Okay. No. But Tom, I know you're talking about Carrick personally, but that team will pick up less points in the league because they have more games.

26:26It's a cost - No, no. That's a managerial issue. Yes, but you're a better team than all the teams with Tom are here. It's a managerial issue. I'm saying Carrick won't deal with it. The fact that we're trying to sit here. I'm saying Eddie Howe could. The fact that we're sat here saying, you're trying to say to me that playing more games won't affect your team's position in the league is crazy because it literally coincides. Every single time we've been in Europe, we've done way worse in the league. It's coincided every year. That could be a managerial issue, no? That's part of it. Do you personally think it makes a difference to your league position if you play more games in Europe and more games throughout the season?

Read the full transcript

27:02Do you think more games affect your league position? It depends on injuries throughout the season. It depends on the quality of your actual manager. We've had the second worst injuries this season behind Tottenham for a mile of days missed by far. So injuries, we've done that. We've went far in both domestic competitions. We went into knockouts. We went knockouts to the Champions League. Yes, I know it's football, Tom. You can't just be blinded by the fact that it's a managerial issue. These extra games, Sunderland didn't have. Sunderland's had an amazing season, but because of those, I don't think Sunderland's a better team than Newcastle.

27:31They've by far had a better season in the Premier League, but objectively, they're not a better football team. I'm not a mathematician. Actually, objectively they are. In your opinion, I think the five points difference we're arguing about here and the amount of extra... The amount of extra injuries we've had and the amount of extra games that we've had, it definitely makes up those five points. They're not a better team. You sound so like pizza. I feel like you... We've had extra games. I'm not bitter. They've had an amazing season. You've lost to them twice. I've actually credited some of them throughout the season.

28:07They beat you twice because you had a few extra games against some shitty team from Azerbaijan. If you're on about head-to-head, if we play head-to-head, I think they're going to beat us because we're bottle jobs this season. But objectively as a team, we're not a worse team than Sunderland. You'll see it next season. Sunderland and Europa League are going to struggle. This year you have been. This year you have been. But we're sat here pretending the sheer amount of games that we played and the sheer amount of injuries we've had isn't relevant to us being a few points behind them. That would have worked for Villa.

28:35Like, you could at least acknowledge you could at least acknowledge and you'd look like you were less biased if you could at least acknowledge that does make a difference but you're sat here you are you're there you should be equipped for that but it's still relevant it's still relevant to the argument you can't just say that's football but it is football yes I understand and it's relative it's relative to the argument we've had more injuries they didn't lose all their best players they've had injuries but let's bring up the time we're second in the whole league but you have a way bigger and deeper squad than them that's why you boasted your squad to handle European football That's why you got They finished fucking Fifth in the championship Last season Do you think it's a fair thing To say that a club That has done the double Over you this season Finished five places High and got you Five points Five places makes it Sound way worse Oh my god But it is five places Yes but also But also Yes but the point Difference is relevant Five places makes it Sound like nine It is a big difference But it's a It's a tight league It's five points With the sheer amount Of games that we played It's actually much tricky We've actually performed Really well in the cups We've done well to get Into the knockout stages in the Champions League and this sort of stuff is relevant.

29:38Like, you can act like I'm being delusional silly but like, what I'm saying is correct. For Newcastle United, what to find really well in the Cups? Well, we went out to Man City, we made it to a semi. What did we do in the FA Cup again? I can't remember what happened in that one. We still went far. I think we got knocked out by Man City in both, didn't we? And we went far both. Went to knockout stages in the Champions League, did well for us there. We'd actually performed well throughout the group stage there. So this is, it's relevant, it's relevant to how a team performs. You are totally glossing over the fact that you spent that much money in the summer to bolster your squad and nothing went right in terms of those signings.

30:13You're strictly... We're talking about who's a better team. You're strictly... You're just pointing to the Premier League. I'm pointing to actual Evans and domestic clubs. The reason why you bought... Is it the City? Fifth round of the FA Cup. Yeah, that's not going far in a cup competition. No, we went semi-final in the Carabao Cup and that's knocked out... And by the way, didn't we knock out... I think we knocked out someone good before. I think we knocked out Villa to get to City as well. Bournemouth and Villa yeah so we knocked out Bournemouth and Villa by the way two teams who were really doing well in the league as we can see and went out to Man City yeah the fifth rounds are good it's Man City by the way in both domestic competitions we lost to the team that went on to win it so that's number one and then the Champions League we actually our Champions League performance was actually really good this season so as a footballing team we watched you lose 7-2 on stream yeah we were great at home it was a great first it was a great first yeah you really weren't at the country look you can disagree but I'm talking about as a football team who's better it's like Newcastle's better team we've had a bad Premier League season objectively that's not how it works it's not how it works you're just not acknowledging the cup competition at all you have better individual players no we're not talking about Premier League we're talking about as a team we're talking about the whole fucking season how can we compare you and Sunderland in Europe and they're not in it what about the domestic cups then what about them what do you mean what about them they obviously prioritised the Premier League because they want to stay up in the Premier League haven't they they lost on penalties to Everton in the FA Cup so that makes you team because you'd be fucking very lucky.

31:36It's funny how you sort of make one rule for Newcastle and one rule for Southern. Well, how do you not know then we prioritise Champions League? I have different... Oh, fuck off. It's to make a point on that you're... They did really bad in this... They did really bad in these domestic cups. Oh, they don't even care about those. But with Newcastle, it's a very different argument. They lost to Port Vale. Yeah, they beat Everton, didn't they? They lost to Port Vale, yeah. It was the big cup upset, wasn't it? They played a very weak team against Port Valle and it backfired. It's almost like they prioritised the Premier League but yeah.

32:08You could argue that. Not that that's an excuse. They shouldn't be losing to Port Valle. But you went one stage further in the FA Cup. Yeah, we lost to the champions. We beat Bournemouth and Villa on the way. It's a bit different, isn't it? Why? No, but the argument you made was we've had so many extra games. We had one extra in the FA Cup and a couple extra in the Carabao Cup. More than a couple extra in the Carabao Cup. And we had the Champions League all the way to knockout stages. It's a substantial amount of games to me that we've played more. Your club and players and management are built to deal with this.

32:38You've been doing it for the last couple of years. No, we're not. We've had a ridiculous amount of injuries. All that depth... That's a club issue then, isn't it? Yes, but all that depth that we've signed in, Tom, we're injured. But objectively, this season, Sunderland are better than you. I disagree. That's all we're getting at. I disagree. I don't think they're a better team. You'll say who's a better team. I don't think they're a better team. You know last season when we did this exact conversation with Spurs in 17th and you used the logic of, well, this is where they finish than the table, this is actually how good they are.

33:05Argument with Spurs against who? Well, with any other club that were that, like, particularly last season when everyone was going off Spurs in 17th. I was arguing that they aren't the fourth worst team in the league because obviously they sack the league. No, I didn't think they were fourth worst at the time. They prioritised something and actually got success out of it. You've just said that you were going for deep cup runs and the Premier League is something as a result. Do you think something's a better team than Newcastle? Based on what I've watched this season, yes, absolutely. And me. 100%.

33:32I just disagree. Look, I'm not... Having better players doesn't make you a better team. We've had a terrible season. Chelsea, for example. For me... Chelsea, for example. By the way, it's actually terrible on Newcastle that this is even a conversation. It's embarrassing that this is even a thing that we can talk about. But I think it's completely... It's completely valid and relevant to quote the amount... You're on about the depth, you should be equipped. We've had ridiculous... All that depth's been injured, simple as that. And then also, the sheer amount of games that we've had, it does make a difference.

34:01Well, that's just factual I wonder how many more games You actually played than them So Sunderland have played 41 competitive games Newcastle 49 This all comes in a fast period Though over Christmas It does It comes over like a fast period Eight more games Wow By the way, that can't Bloody hell That can't be true That's an extra game That can't be true I'm kind of fact-checking this No, that's not true Because you're playing more alone In the Champions League that's not true I'll work it out no we went to knockouts that by the way I think it was probably wrong there because they were in the playoffs that's actually like extremely wrong oh yeah I'll tell you what that'll be are they counting the playoffs oh pardon me I got it wrong 58 yeah 58 58 to how many Sunderland exactly well done you've played so many more games it is quite a lot more games so why didn't Arsenal played the most games I feel like we're in a different territory of argument.

35:01You're literally a different tier of team than us. So you think Villa are better than Man United? Palace played the third most amount of games this season. Crystal Palace. Yeah. So you think Villa are better than Man United then? By the way, you know what Palace playing the third most amount and they're a 15th. It actually backs up the argument of Matt Morgan. Yeah, but it backs up the argument of the more games you play and it can affect league position. But it can affect league position, simple as that. It can because on your Villa better than Man United, I think they are. I think they are better team.

35:31But going into next season, I don't know. It's a bit hard, that one, because I'm sort of sweared by Man United at the start of the season. Probably not because they've been a proper team under Carrick. That's the only one I've got. Yeah, that's the one I saw, yeah. Do you really think Man United are a better team than Villa? Yeah, I think. No, I do think that. No, I'll take that back. I think Man United are better. Because you have to take it from under Carrick. It's a different manager, isn't it? It's a different sort of era. Villa are playing a lot of extra games with Man United. Yeah, but it's a bit bigger of a difference, isn't it?

36:01Man United actually have a better team as well, like player for player. Villa is sort of a team that you try to end. With Sunderland ahead of Newcastle and League, but you'd say Newcastle have better players. Man United ahead of Vaston Villa, but they also have better players. What? You said Newcastle have better player for player than Sunderland. Yeah. But Sunderland ahead of us in the league. But Sunderland are higher than us in the league. And then Man United are higher than Villa in the league, but they also have better player for player in my opinion yeah I think it'd be close so that's why I think it'd be close I have interest do you think Bournemouth are better than Newcastle?

36:36I think the player for player they actually might have us as a starting XI you know we're not on about that we're not on about who's the better team I know but that comes into my process I think about who's actually better he doesn't know because you could assemble the best XI players in the world does it make the best team? yeah no but I've literally just said I've literally I've just literally said my logic it's the same as the Man United-Villa argument that's why it's relevant who do you think is better Bournemouth or Newcastle probably Bournemouth probably probably yeah so how many teams on there Lewis if you go through the list let's go yeah obviously you've got the top six top six all this is going to be as soon as I see it one team Newcastle we're going to jump down into the same conversation no I'm just quickly like because Sunderland is seventh does that mean everybody else below Sunderland aren't as good as you and you think on this that's for me I'm brighter than Newcastle I think I think we're better than I think we're as a team we're better than all of them but I think Chelsea Chelsea are better just the players Chelsea have is like easy like they're better than us So are Sunderland better than Chelsea lads?

37:37Yeah Didn't they do the double over Chelsea? Are Sunderland better than Chelsea? Yeah I mean So yeah Jews actually think Sunderland are a better team than Chelsea They beat them twice and they finished above them in the Premier League They actually beat them when it mattered the most Yeah they did When theoretically that's even more of an injury. Chelsea in the Champions League this year. I can't even remember. No, they weren't, were they? No. No, they weren't. What were they in? They were in the Champions League. Yeah, they were. Were they? They got to the quarters. I can't even remember them.

38:05Who'd they lose to? No, they lost to PSG. In the round of 16. I felt like this whole season. Did they? Champions League round of 16. Oh, they did. So, according to Lewis, guys, it doesn't matter where you finish in the Premier League. Well, you do. Newcastle is still better than most people. So, you think something's better than Chelsea? Yes. 100%. I don't think so I think it's crazy look at the final game of the season is a prime example they're just not a better team one team needs to win that for Europe and they didn't do it unfortunately that is a really good denominator of where you finish yeah but you're saying that two point difference Sunderland have to Chelsea makes up for everything and it's just have you watched Chelsea recently so you have to finish 20 points yeah they're under really bad management but as a team they're not like come on they have like Corpana like look at the actual team no we're not talking about their individual players as a team Sunderland are a better team than Chelsea and if you look at them if you just watch football as well you can understand but by this logic will they fall off probably will they but I'm not in a relegation battle who knows this season they're the better team they're the 7th best team in England one of them is in Europe and one of them is not but by that logic it's just like it's like a purple patch it goes against your argument that is like when Murphy was banging all those goals when Murphy had that unbelievable season when Chris Wood last season was right up there you were arguing against he was one of the best strikers You used to argue against it.

39:21You were like, he's a big stiff idiot. You wouldn't have him even up there. So that goes against your argument because it has to have a bit of sustainability. Objectively, yes, he's what he was. But yeah, wasn't what you used to argue? Yes, objectively, he was one of the best strikers in the Premier League last season. Me personally, I still don't rate him because of his title. No, but you never had him. You never had him as one of your better strikers. You never had him. Again, I'm explaining to you, objectively, yes, he was one of the best strikers in the Premier League last season. Me personally, I don't like him as a footballer.

39:47I don't rate him. my opinion isn't the objective fact of it. So you can just use that logic with what I'm saying right now. What? You can say objectively Sunderland are seventh, but in your opinion, and that is the simplest of the same thing. We think objectively they're better than you. In your opinion, you don't think Sunderland are better than Newcastle because it's Sunderland and because you've had a few extra games. It's not. It's not because it's Sunderland because I said the same about Brentford. I said the same about other teams above us. It's not actually because it's Sunderland. It's just how I think.

40:17and then I'd say I think Chelsea are better than us it's like it's not because it's something because I say the same argument for other teams ahead of us question I think you're looking Newcastle team they've massively underperformed this season but it's like we're not but there's factors do you think Brentford are better than New no I don't think they're a better team than us no you think Brentford are better no I don't think they're better you don't think Brentford are better than New oh my god Theo sorry shall we move on because like we're going to go let's move on we've been under for ages I think people have lost interest you're jerking you're jerking Before we move on quickly I just want to ask you something about Sunderland 7th in the league teams have done that before promoted obviously Wolves have done it Ipswich did well but do you think in terms of where they were when they got promoted to where they've ended up is the best performance ever the way yeah probably you know when they bought you know when they bought all them players and everyone always says like Forrest did it like it cannot it could so easily not work it was the jacket sign wasn't it though the fact that they've all all of their signings pretty much are just bang on the money yeah they needed the jacket And all of them have made a difference this season.

41:20The recruitment is very old. It's genuine. Regis. Is it? They keep calling him Regis? Regis LeBouret. Yeah, Regis. Isn't that Regis? It's fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. They're on about getting rid of him though, aren't they? They'll keep it now. They were saying if he didn't get you if they were going to get rid of him and bring in a big boy but now he's got you. He's earned his time, hasn't he? He's earned his stripes, hasn't he? Yeah, anyway. Man United, Bruno's broke the record. He did. Has it been confirmed? Yeah. What are our thoughts on that, lads? The rule is an own goal, but I mean...

41:49No, so the rule is... I think that's such bullshit if they don't give him that. Apparently the rule is if it's bouncing down on it or something. Apparently it's always given. By the way, what is Roy Keane's problem? I don't know if I find it funny. See, his story he put on. And it was like... I listened to that episode of Stick to Football. I understand where he's coming from. No, he put a story on yesterday. It was like, give a donkey enough applause or something and he'll think he's a liar. I'm like, let the lad just have his moment. That's about him. It is about him. words about having to value.

42:16Genuinely, how do we know that's about Bruno? He did a whole... He's just done a whole pod on it as well. Saying what? It was basically... He went off on him saying how embarrassing it is that they're literally trying to give him the ball to pass to people. And you know when Mbwemo missed that shot last week and he was crying and he said his fucking about him. I've seen that clip as well. These lot are fucking not winning anything. Yeah. And they're doing this whole trophy parade about him getting the assist record. He said it was just an embarrassment to football. I understand that, but look, Man United's had a bit of a shit time.

42:43Let them just enjoy it. just fucking let's just enjoy it that's what he's implying he's saying the club's fallen from grace so much that they're now celebrating why don't they just have like shit morale forever he also said you know in that game last week when he equaled the record he said he couldn't he couldn't actually get over the fact that the players and even Bruno was talking about how they were all basically more focused on getting him a system yeah for sure and even though the game didn't really mean anything I don't think yeah I think that's more more what it is I can see Keane's point but then I can also see the point of Man Utd have had nothing playing for the last few weeks.

43:15Like, this is kind of their... And they are trying to win. They have been. That's what I mean. So what are we actually complaining about? You also have to understand Roy Keane as a mentality of it shouldn't matter who scores, who assists. The goal is to only focus on winning. Which, to be fair, it goes against his argument because they have been winning. Yeah, they've literally been winning. But his argument is they got knocked out what to Grimsby. The FA Cup, they were out first round. They've had it... For his standards, this is a poor season for Man United but actually since Carrick came in the standard has been amazing it's been way higher a bad season for Man United is second the thing with Man United I always think you have to just treat it as two separate seasons it's been a different season since Carrick came in and that's actually pretty poo on the players obviously it's a different system but they beat Bryant 3-0 away Bryant are fighting for yeah they needed a win it's a really good fucking result I can't believe I'm defending Man United yeah you know your big rivals did find it funny how Bruno scored directly after he basically got the record yeah good finish no but I mean he just hasn't been yeah he would have passed it yeah anything prior he would have just tried to score it are we all in agreement that he deserves play of the season yeah Bruno yeah and you know like people are saying oh it's not he's not won the Premier League not all this and that they are like they have finished third it's not like they haven't been down and out of it do you know what I mean like I know they had only the Premier League to concentrate on you're supposed to be angry you Russell fans you're supposed to be like give it to Raya I don't think there's been a one standout for Arsenal.

44:43Yeah, that's the thing for Arsenal. It's like, you could sit between three or four of them. Without Bruno, man, not at all. Who would you give it to out of your Arsenal team? Yeah, that's a good question, actually. Declan Rice? I think there'll be three. It'll be Rice, Gabriel or Raya. Who would you give it to? I'd give it Raya. My preference would be Gabriel. He's a fucking cheat. I think second half the season, though, Saliba's been better than Gabriel. Yeah, he's sort of gone, Saliba's sort of now going underrated almost. I think if you look at moments throughout the season you've had Gabriel's header against Newcastle but then you've had Raya save against West Ham and you've had Rice just pulling the strings any three of them I'll give it to all three of them they can all share it that's why you can understand it's probably not gone to an Arsenal player because the vote share between the three of them I think it was in the end it was between Rice and Fernandes wasn't it yeah you can't give it a go I think the Arsenal fan well Arsenal as a football club tried to orchestrate everyone just picking Rice but then everyone that wasn't an Arsenal fan just picked Bruno Bruno Arsenal's defence is, we're touching it now, it's like, it's the best defence in Europe.

45:45But that's why I kind of think you have to pick statistically as well the best defence in Europe. Yeah, that's going to be an interesting final then, isn't it? People always said, what wins your titles, Lou? Gabriel. Or defences. Gabriel wins you the Champions League is what a man said here. I said 1-0 header in the final, mate, and that comes true. That would be so annoying. What a shit winner with a fucking 1-0 header, Gabriel. Maybe we're going to leave by seven points. Yeah, it's mental but a pretty low points talent you say that though Tom I think that is more than seven of Sir Alex's title winning sides so still low but no one was saying it back then they were I don't think they were they were who what do you mean who oh sorry Steve who was saying it people were saying that yeah who what do you mean I'll find them who's not everyone I haven't seen anything there was no Twitter there was no social media yeah you can't say There's no social media.

46:42Who's not doesn't work. That was... People were... Because I haven't. When it were like 79 points, that is so low. Yeah, 79 is low. 85 is all right. I think... You're doing what I think. It's about the same as Leicester. Of recent years with the way that Liverpool and City have sort of gone totally with like 90 plus points. That's what my question is going to be. Do you think... By the way, I think 90 plus is an anomaly. It is. And then that never really happened. Is that just... We've got the average... Yeah, yeah, yeah. The best teams get like 90 points. I don't think they normally do. The best teams are saying.

47:13I think 85 is not the best, but... This is a pretty average Premier League winning team. Do you think the points tally now compared to the Liverpool City eras is indicative that the league as a whole has got better or the best teams have got worse? I'm not sure. So the average is 87. So you're below average? 87.7 going into this season, below average. It's not... I know it's slightly below, but it's not like... You're a below average Premier League winning team, which you can see that when you watch. That's true. You have been itching to the shit all over our parade. Be honest, do you think Arsenal are a below average Premier League winning team?

47:52Yes. You're still champions. It doesn't matter. It does matter. Because a real champion lives in the hearts of the old... I think it's been a more difficult league to win. And also on country. No, it's been one of the easiest. No, as in like... No, City are the same. Liverpool are fucking thick. No, sorry. Man United have crap. I'm talking about on an individual game basis. More teams are putting up a tougher fight in the bottom half of the table now than they've been. I actually agree with Reid. Oh yeah, Wolves and Burnley are really tough. They've just been relegated with 39 points. You're picking the two worst teams, the rest of the league.

48:22By the way, they drew with Wolves. Nah, I agree with Reid. And they strike past Burnley. Overall in the season, there's not really many games in the calendar where it's like gimme games at all. The average team is way better and that's why the rest of the league is so tight and bunched up. So you do... You're right. I hate to say it, but the reason that point tally is lower is because I think the overall quality... I think the quality has dropped in the top four, but also the quality has risen in the rest. And that means the league is harder. So then it's a case of both. If those Liverpool and Man City teams were in this league, they'd still get those points because they'd just wipe everyone.

48:58They'd still wipe the floor of everyone. Yeah, so they're both true then. They're both true. I think it's a bit of both. It is a bit of both. that's why I said I don't know to your answer because I don't think the league is better overall in terms of quality but the best are worse yes do we prefer lower points for the title winners tighter I enjoyed this it's closer having one or two teams just better than everybody else it's actually blinded my mind a little bit that it's ended up being seven points when it it looked like you might not have won it I thought Villa 1 was hung over and drunk yeah walk-ins with the football celebration I mean yeah Maddox actually But that kind of Was the gap But also the games City sort of Dropped points At the Everton And Bournemouth People could see that Coming They're not like Bournemouth qualified For Europe Do you know what I mean I thought City Were on the chart I thought they would have Brought a last derf I was really Disappointed in them Arsenal winning the title Though that was Come on this is your big We've been waiting Four years for this How are we getting How are we so casually just talking about this.

50:04No, no. He's just recovered from his run. It's four years in the making. It's just like, next top of the game, Arsenal won the league. He went for a run after Arsenal won the league. It's crazy. Didn't happen. Yeah, but I'm assuming. Are you not fuming there? I can't remember 100 years of the ratio of a lifetime. I was... I don't think I've ever felt just like more FOMO. Oh, yeah. I was in an empty pub. By the way, you missed... In the middle of nowhere. You missed two opportunities. What are you doing up there, man? Jodie's sister's boyfriend is also an Arsenal fan so we got some whiskey shots in to celebrate some Scottish whiskey it was a really weird way to win the Premier League how do you feel about winning the Premier League and then you spent the night on Twitter breezing Lewis Bowden what else could I do got me a shot as well Tom I got like 20 K likes or something I was already pretty drunk and then we went home and I thought what can I do now I know I can log on I don't do my bookmark tweets I've lost I will say Arteta's finally done he's got it over the line I think Arsenal are by far the best in the league.

51:04They have been all season. They do deserve it. And I now think... The dynasty is becoming. Let's relax with that. Jesus. I do now think with the pressure off, it gives you a much bigger chance. But you're not going to be to win it. You're not going to be. Honestly, I'm not going to lie. Look, I can handle the Premier League but if you win the Champions League as well, I don't know. I'm going to do things to myself. I just wouldn't leave your house on that Sunday. You're not even in the country. I know, dude. Look, I was... I thought the celebration was actually pretty cool. I was, I was, fucking insane.

51:36Cause we went, we went, we went out after the Bournemouth go. No, we went out to watch the Bournemouth go. And then I went home and driving out of London. Fuck me. It was carnage. Like just arse on everywhere. But we'll say there was a lot of, um, weirdly, a lot of people wearing just around 20, 20 year old shirts. It's almost like they've just like pulled them out of a rock. It's just really come out of a rock. It's weird. Yeah, you missed both, man. Missed both. We have got more points in Liverpool last season. Wee! They were also shit champions. Only three champions have scored less goals than you this season.

52:15You should be stripped for that. I will say, though, I will say this morning that if Arsenal scored two in the final of the Champions League, that's the best of it. What about goals conceded, then? Because that's apparently the best defence ever. So, Man City have done it and they're not three point season two same it's pretty good though four yeah it's decent Manny Knight can see 43 goals and won the league that's pretty impressive that all of these Chelsea yeah that Chelsea's still pretty good though all I hope now for Arsenal is is like next year turn into a team that's is more exciting please like you've won it now okay you have to shit house it fair enough and you've got it well done I'd love to see like some proper footy down.

53:00Do you know what is exciting for Arsenal is that, I don't know how you boys feel, but this Premier League almost feels like an era is coming to an end with Pep leaving, Banana Silver leaving, Stones leaving. There's so many changes, like Salah leaving. A lot of teams are almost in their sort of transitional period that you saw the likes of Arsenal and Man United were about 10 years ago. Comes at a point where we're building on success. And also not just building on success, but we have a club that has stability. It's almost like it's empty because all the other things are shit. But you notice the teams that are doing well are the clubs that are stable.

53:35By the way, I can't wait for you to lose our Champions League. Well, you say that, but I actually have a bold prediction for next year. I think... Chelsea? You think Chelsea are going to win the league? I think they might. Is it because it's Liv's birthday? I think Alonso... They have to get their recruitment right. Because he's manager, not head coach. They're only going to be playing once a week. his head coach is going to get more control I think he'll demand the respect I think they'll get rid of him I think I trust him to get the right sign he's done it at the top already I think he's well respected Is it not just a massive jump to go from where they are to No this is why I don't think so I think United are really going to struggle with Europe under carry I don't see Liverpool turning it around under slots I think they'll have a sticky start I think Pep leaving up who knows what's going to happen there and I don't think Arsenal are unattainable.

54:28What odds would you give me on Newcastle finishing within 10 points of the champions? 50 to 1. Does it not get me better than that? We'll talk about this off there. You might finish worse than 12. You might get renegated. We'll come back to that. You finished 36 points behind, so you've got to make up by 26 points. Go on, I need better odds. Do you remember this third season when you said you were going to come third? God, I had so much hope, though. I was wide-eyed, full of hope. He's like an Eka-Tiki in my mind. It wasn't hope, it was delusion. It was full of promise and happiness. That's what footy's about.

55:08You know everything you boys have said this season, do you take it all back? No. I meant everything I said at the time was right. No, he's proven me wrong. Yeah. Yeah, yours is fine. His is just blind. Yeah, that's just being stubborn. I'm not taking it back. Arteta's proven me wrong, but in fairness, I've said all along if he does get it over the line then I'll hold my hands up he hadn't all this time and I thought he'd that's why you can't take it back because up until that point he hadn't done it like you can say now he's proved me wrong he's proved me wrong like a real man would take it back no but you don't take it back because you said it at the time because at the time of the time you felt it you don't take it back I stand by every word I said because you have always been bottlers but you've finally done it but I'm not wrong now because up until that you are wrong because you said they were going to bottle it again correct no I'm wrong about that it doesn't mean I take it back my logic and the reason you said you're not wrong and now you are wrong no you said I was wrong you said I was wrong about you being bottlers but you were bottlers for like three years to be fair to you there's two awesome I'm wrong about it there's only one person with Arteta on their leg I love Arteta more than you's 11 you've got a Premier League champion manager on your leg let me tell you about the light bulb brother I usually get smart do you see when the dog's still alive as well yeah he's drinking champagne mate he was dancing in the challenge you do have to say though we'll always stick with giving him he's gone and done it if he gets the Champions League my god I think you are right though I think this is the start of an Arsenal era oh god this is why I can't stand them winning it you know what I mean as you said Lewis the hope that you thought Newcastle finished third to play countries to what Tom just said his argument is Arsenal aren't attainable but I don't see any other club in a stable enough situation to challenge but even that's like that's so unpredictable You can't call that now I don't give a fuck where Chelsea finish But I just think I've seen the vision I'm really intrigued by Manchester City Have you seen science?

57:02Are people just underestimating Maresca a bit? I think Maresca Personally my opinion is I think they'll have a similar season to this season Under Maresca I don't think they'll drop off Because that's kind of His level at Chelsea was kind of like They were just like They were decent And they also have like exceptional footballers Yeah Do you know what I mean? I think it's anyone's. Mareska's the same star as Pep. Well, I disagree with that. He will be. I don't think he is. He's a disciple of Pep, but he doesn't play the same as Pep. Mareska is a manager that has an excellent plan A, but no plan B or C.

57:36But do you not think the club and the higher ops will demand a way of Manchester City to play? No, they'll leave it to him. He's the manager. But I only say that because Pep has been there so long. They'll know the way Mareska plays. Mareska's a very slow build-up style. But that means it's not just changing the first team, though. that's changing like all the way down to youth play they're not Ajax mate they don't have to play they all play the same way they do under Pep I don't think they do I promise you they do but Pep can play all the youth teams all the youth teams that's the way what so all the youth teams were playing four centre halves at the back no not that because they'd probably have different players if they're full backs so what are you on about I'm just saying there's a way that ideology was spread throughout the whole it's built around like Lamar City is that's why I think Mresco will actually play the way like a nice style of play but by the way Man City have been way more direct this season so you tell them all the kids play that now No I agree but I think no no I don't think that I think they've played with the Pep's ideology for the last 10 years Yeah so the kids will stay the same but that's why the first team will play Mariska's boring style That's why their academy products you come through are always so good on the ball Yeah yeah That's why I think Mariska might change his style But we'll see I think he'll carry it on man it won't change much I think we know from history like Moyes coming in and big managers at Emery I think getting somebody who knows the club and his stability probably is the best option but that's what I'm saying change your style away from Maresco and more into Pep that's what I'm saying so it's more of a Man City no but I actually don't I think he'll just I think Maresco will continue playing Maresco football you think he'll want to make his own because this is the best group of players he'll ever experience playing or managing we shall see what happens to them it'll be an interesting season next season and if he's a manager that primarily succeeds when he's got good talent next season off the back of this one it has like so much potential I hope it's not just like a shit one where someone runs away with it because like Arsenal and Villa are class actually they can't sign that by the way is the complete opposite of what it's setting up to be I disagree at the minute it's setting up for Arsenal to run away with it I disagree I think with Liverpool I know I disagree that Slott has no chance the actual quality of players they have is like unbelievable they'll make more signs do you think Slott's going to turn it around when all the fans want him out but the amount of the great players that they have there I don't think it'll be any worse what great players genuine question what have you watched from this season to think that every other club is just going to suddenly catch up I think we're just writing off Man City I don't see a world where Arsenal I think Arsenal and Man City are going to be very close I agree with Chelsea I don't think Liverpool will have it I actually slightly disagree with I think Carrick's going to be alright next year I know it's unknown alright isn't he no in terms of like he might not perform well in the Champions League I think this Premier League forms going to be fine are you not just projecting with all of the other clubs as opposed to watching Arsenal and knowing they're the best in the next season.

1:00:20You do realise Arsenal are also going to invest and improve. Yeah. I think it's going to be a good season. If we win the Champions League it's like 700 million competition revenue. What? Isn't it? What? It's like Parma. Fuck, cool Parma. If we win the Champions League it's like 700 million comp revenue. Is it? We are doing a very good profit wise. Fuck.

1:01:14The total prize prize. does think with Arsenal second, second, second like you've been finally and you finally reach that mountain top and then it's like you could see a drop off I'd fucking love that finally we've done it or you could see the pressure's off now I think the pressure's off there we go but because it was like it got to boiling point didn't it really that's what I mean I think this season was do or die the end of this season was like scruffy this season was do or die and by the way after losing at City they've just gone and won every game like Ray said Did you see the match of the day with like six games to go with Joe Hart and Wayne Rooney?

1:01:48Wayne Rooney? Wayne Rooney. And Joe Hart was like, I just don't see a Wayne Man City don't win it. It was just like, he was refusing to see a world in which Wayne was basically saying that I can actually, I think Wayne's quite an unbiased pundit. But he was like, I think the two games City will drop points at Everton and Bournemouth. Yeah. To be fair, even Gary Neville, who's like pro Arsenal season after that City game, he was like, I think it's City's now. That was a big moment. It was huge. It was a big moment. City just didn't capitalise on it at all. Even Ian Wright said he wasn't sure. Even Ian Wright was starting to doubt it.

1:02:21That's what I mean. They had you on the ropes because even all your fans, all the players would have been like, fuck. Are we going to talk about the Palace fans cheering Arsenal, by the way? Yeah, but is that real? Mate, that is... I don't know if that was just Arsenal fans who got in the away end. I'm not. No, they were in the home end. I'm in the home end, sorry. I'm not sure. Because that's fucking weird, isn't it? Fucking washed. Weren't they playing North London forever over the tannoy? Yeah, but that is... The Premier League though. Yeah. Fuck that roll. No, you could tell the Premier League no.

1:02:47Tell us stadium. How about no? How about no? Okay, how much are paying us? Surely a lot of them were just celebrating Eze's win, no? Individually or not. I hate that shit. It's like fucking Stanley and Gilles Pedral. It's like you have this good player and he goes on and you support him forever. That's why Oli was happy. It should be a good club. I don't want nothing to do with him. You should want them to fail. To be fair, my mate was happy for Eze. Yeah, that's probably why they were cheering, no? You could snog him as well. Well, Eze on my mate. Right, anyway, talking about apologising and being completely wrong about things, do you want to apologise to me about Spurs?

1:03:21Oh, they're skinning their teeth, mate. I can't, because I said Forrest's going down. Skinning their teeth, what, two points? Skinning their teeth, mate. I thought they were dead and buried. I told you so, didn't I? Yeah. I told you. We told you. Do you remember when I said that and you were like, what the fuck are you even on? Do you want to bring up how wrong you've been this season? Yeah, there's a few... Spurs have stayed up. There's a few dodgy predictions coming up this episode. Spurs are staying up, mate. Spurs are staying up, mate. I'm actually really disappointed in that. Do you want to just apologise?

1:03:46No. Yeah, go on, Theo. I thought Spurs would go down, and I had an agenda at the time, and I'll always have the agenda. All right, but do you want to just apologise? I was man enough about Arteta. You said his Bob man enough. Do you take a bet? I don't apologise, but I know I was wrong. Stay safe now. You're on his mouth. Nobody's focused on him. I've got to apologise to Forrest fans, but beyond that, I said it as well, but he's only focused on you at the moment. Let's talk about Spurs. Oh, yeah, he said it as well. I had a bet with him. What was that? You actually owe me money I owe him like 120 quid For the season What was our Newcastle or Sunderland bet?

1:04:14You owe me 100 as well I don't think we have that Why don't you just pay Tom for me? I owe everyone money He'll pay No you can pay me Yeah it's a rough year Yeah anyway going back to the game itself I'm actually horrendously disappointed with the Everton performance Because I thought they were going to be way better They were shocking They're usually better than that Nothing to play for You get more money for how you finish I mean they don't give a fuck really do they they're on holiday how much Prius does Deserby deserve one defeat in the last six Deserby deserve he's done well I mean he saved them so yeah enough but he's done a good job he was brought in to do the job everyone thought they were dead and buried including everyone on this panel other than one no you did until they lost that game what so up until you know when Spurs lost and you're like oh I think they're going to stay up no but prior to that you were saying I think Spurs are down oh he's got your Charles is down That is back to the league.

1:05:08He's actually got your trousers down. No, it isn't, mate. They lost a game of football and you're like, well, I actually think they played none of that game. And then that's when you turned. You're on about when they drew to Brighton. You're on about when they drew to Brighton. Mate, whatever. You got my little ropes here. And then prior to that, prior to that, you were still saying Spurs will go. I actually think they'll go down. No, I didn't. Yes, you did. I've maintained they'll stay. Oh my God. We definitely have receipts, I think. We have old spiel. You do realise this podcast gets broadcast from you.

1:05:35Yeah, I did a whole spiel saying Spurs are definitely going to stay up. What are you on about? Yeah, a week before you were saying they're down, mate. What the fuck are you on about? Oh, he's on your head. Memory's kicked in here. Oh, go on, memory boy. When we were going, oh, Javi Simmons injured, and everyone was going, oh, they're going down. He went, yeah, everything's going against him. For that reason, they're going to stay up. Yeah, but I'm saying before that, he was saying they're down. Yeah, prior to that, it was correct. I could see them going down. You could see them going down. but I've always said I think they're going to stay up you've seen you talk like that I've always said that alright not from the start of the season yeah well let's go look at your predictions shall we do you know I'm not going to find any what's going on there mate honestly you were so close to a great take because at the start of the season you were genuinely saying like they're going to finish 17th they're going to finish 17th and then as it came to the predictions you bottled it and said they were 8th but it's no surprise that there is close that is back to back 17th finishes for Spurs but the thing they have such like they're going to Yeah, that's what I mean.

1:06:35The quality of players and the people they'll sign, they're going for Savino again for something. I don't like that as much these days. Sorry, what? You see them all celebrating like deserving of a run on the pitch. Why are you happy about not going down? It's so cringe, guys. I thought that was great. You've sent down your rivals and stayed up. Why are you happy? Be sad. No, we've had celebration police all fucking year, mate. Oh, it's about Arsenal, that's why. We've had it all year. Mate, I thought those were really... Well, you know what? They should be sappy if they finish 17th. No, I think...

1:07:05They're not happy about having the... It's just a sigh of relief, isn't it? Mate, I thought that was great scenes at the end. What the fuck are they meant to do? A proper fan base gets behind the players when they've just... They've survived. They've had a terrible season. Get behind them. New year. It's like... Boo! You shouldn't be here! It is a bit like celebrate five seconds clapping and go, fucking nuts. Mate, six years ago I thought it was good, mate. Mate, six years ago when you were finishing 7th. It's not 17th, is it? The Emirates was half empty. He's not 17 Precisely They're actually showing off And I was there Wearing my puma kit Really skin tight No you weren't Yes I was No you fucking weren't You Brighton fan They're probably celebrating The fact Beyonce can still Play there next year Oh good one bro One of their owners Or the director of football I don't know the exact title He's got to go here He's came out And said we haven't been Concentrating on football Decisions enough Good thing to do When you're running The football club He's an easy old Yeah host an NFL game instead He used to be the villa Sporting director didn't he and the Villa fans were buzzing when they went down as well.

1:08:02Not sure. Executive Chairman Peter Cairnton admitted feelings about the rebuilding Is it Langer? You used to be the Wolves assistant manager. Right, Winger. Oh, Winger. What? Langer. Why don't I know that name? Langer. Oh. Langer. They'll be good next season. They'll be top it. The ceiling of where they are. Is that last year? No, they're going to go for a proper this window. One positive for West Ham I do think now They've got a decent manager Though now They'll be top 10 We said that last year Nah they got rid of us No they didn't We said they got A decent manager Frank Oh he didn't say that I never said Frank was going to do well One positive For Spurs they have Is the team coming up Probably are worse Than the ones that came up Nah give them another week Honestly Everything I said this season Was wrong About everything Are you shocked I think everything No but sometimes When you're throwing enough shit I get a few bits right But this one was just like Everything missed So I was just saying One positive for West Ham Going down is that their stadium's now half price.

1:08:59So they'll be spending only 45k a week on rent. Bowen's going to stay in, though. I'll pay for their stadium. It's part of my council tax. You see that Bowen's staying? Well, it looks like it. He said that he can't really speak on it. It's been a day and a half. They might have to sell them because they need money in. But he was saying he wants to help get the clue up. But he might say, I want to help them buy, give them my transfer fee. Yeah, they were pretty good in that game, but it's too late, isn't it? I'm pretty certain Bowman won't leave. I would really respect him if he stayed. I think that would be good.

1:09:32I don't think it's a case of... He also has it kind of good there. He'll probably go on... He'll get a wage increase probably. He's got a new contract. He needs to get renewed in. He's got a year left. He ain't going to get a wage increase. They can't afford it. They've just been relegated. They might need to. He's actually just a bit reduced by 50 % of some shit. Like 40%. He must be on 120 grand away. how are they going to keep him if fucking Villa comes Villa mate no big club in the Premier League is going to spend what 50 million on a 30 year old Jared Bowie I'd take him at any cost please cut to the transfer news they won't but you happily take that but you can't understand where a 29 year old Bruno would go no but like the difference is we're desperate like we've got a Langer and Murphy on that win I was on the inside Trossard when he was 28 from Brighton not to start well and it's a step up You go from Brighton to Arsenal.

1:10:27West Ham, he's settled there. He's a club legend there. Obviously, all his family are London. Where's he going to go? Everton? I'd love from the store. When West Ham will probably get promoted next season anyway. Yeah, they're not even in Europe, are they? I just think it's such a... Unless he's going to go to a big six team who he's going to start every week at, it just doesn't add up in the mood personally. Yeah, I know. I do know what you mean. I think the actual best fit for him would be Spurs, but he would never go to Spurs. He just couldn't do that. Kudus and Bobby. Boeing couldn't go from West Ham.

1:10:57And Savino. He just couldn't. They were both from West Ham is the poor. Ah, yeah. Before we move on to the next one, next section, little one on Nuno. It looks like he's going to go. You see all this shit come out about him. Rightly so, by the way. I was under, for some reason I tricked myself into thinking Nuno had done a good job and he'd been there since like December. He did all right. He was there in September. Yeah. He has done a decent job No I know But he's basically Had the whole season We all thought They were just Definitely down You was on about Sell the ball Because you saw She were that They were down They actually almost survived He came a month Into the Premier League I was right They almost survived That's like five games It can't be that He was appointed in September Have you seen The end of September Is different as the start It's the 25th of September August And the Premier League Kicked off what 16th of August That's got five days Are you sure that's true Yeah it's like It's five games Can you It can't be right Surely they had I have to be right on this one.

1:11:55I have to be right on this one. Check when Nuno was appointed. I actually don't remember. 25th of September. All I do know is since January, they're in the top eight. Yeah, that is true, but he's still got them regated. Yeah, no, he has to take blame. Lots of shit came out about him from behind the scenes in the last couple of days. Yeah, but it's from Alex Crook, isn't it? 27th of September. I was two days off. Ah, you were wrong. That was still earlier than I thought. Isn't it? Isn't it? Right, so that is Yeah, five game weeks Oh my god, I'm actually a genius I'll tell you what When they lost to Forest I was like, they are done Fucking hell, he was there way longer than I remember Yeah, because Everton West Ham He had like one day's notice That's not terrible form He got his own pleas And in January, didn't he really But West Ham fans aren't entirely happy with him They feel like some performances, some results he sat back too early yeah and they've lost three out the last well they hated the way they turned up against us yeah they played three at the back didn't they yeah 25 minute change that Tadiba refused to play apparently against Leeds but one thing I will say is it's actually smart business when you think about it because Nuno will have a clause in his contract if they get relegated they don't have to pay him out if they sack him and it means they'll just go and get Scott Parker who's a free agent that's exactly what will happen of him walking rather than...

1:13:22Scott Parker will get 100 points with West Ham, get him promoted, and then... West Ham getting relegated. He always gets relegated. I reckon there'll be a clause in his contract where they don't have to pay him out. Why are you bleeding? Because he's been relegated. And Scott Parker's a free agent, so they don't have to pay a club to get him... I just heard that, yeah, nice. Who's got experience in the championship, he's West Ham legend or whatever, or he's got ties to the club. I just think that's an absolute given. And I think West Ham and Wolves will come straight back up. Well on that note guys That has been the final ever Premier League review Final ever Never come back We're coming back next year No we're not I've quit I'm going to the overlap guys I want to speak to people Who actually know football Because they thought Spurs Would go down Oh yeah like Paul Scholes Cringe He's not on the overlap mate He knows ball doesn't he No he's more than you No he doesn't even fuck all mate That's right Paul I said that What you going against A fellow ginger Fellow Paul I'm not ginger I'm strawberry And a fellow Paul That's not funny right then guys I'm excited for this yeah as is normal for the end of season guys we're going to look back on our predictions so that includes our 1 to 20 our awards predictions cup winners predictions and our team of the seasons individually as predicted at the start of the year and I know that there are some howlers in this I've got your 1 to 20 predictions at the start of the season and after 19 games yeah oh the halfway who we start with there's a hey Have you done No on Twitter I keep getting tagged In a clip of me And everyone's saying Like Oh he Not What's the opposite of jinxing it Like Opposite of jinxed Manifesting Manifesting yeah Because obviously You know I predicted City to win the league But then Every season I've committed Oh like a reverse We did the reverse Psychology I've seen that guy He's like Thank you to Theo For predicting a second Because that means We won the league Right anyway We'll start off with Theo Are we?

1:15:17Yeah this is a one to 20. All right. Oh, that's not, it normally means you have the best one if you're first. Fuck's here. Oh, okay. So I predicted Liverpool first. Wait, what? Yeah, I think everyone did because they've won the, yeah, and they spent 500 mil and I don't think that's crazy to have said. So Liverpool first, Arsenal second, City third, Chelsea fourth, Newcastle fifth. Yeah. Brighton sixth. If this is the best one, then they finished eight. Yeah, but they got you up. I predicted them to get you up. Oh my God, you've got Forest, Palace and Spurs in the top 10. Isn't it a different kind of Europe?

1:15:51Didn't they get conference league? Mate, it's still Europe. Right. The fact we're not top 10 is actually crazy. Villa 8th, Spurs, Forest, Bournemouth, United 12th. Everton's bang on though. Everton is bang on the money. Fulham 14th, West Ham 15th, Brentford 16th, Sunderland 7th. I'm predicting Sunderland to stay up. Wolves prediction's good. Come on. Wolves, Leeds and Burnley. Wolves is pretty good. Wolves is a good shot. Yeah, the Wolves is very good. That's actually not horrendous. I don't think anyone... Yeah, that's why you went first. Oh, I'm the second best, definitely. I predicted Brian to get Europe.

1:16:22Do it slowly. I predicted Brian to get Europe, Sunderland to stay up, Wolves to get relegated, and Everton bang on. Yeah, but you also had Manu Live in the bottom half. You got Palace, 7th, Spurs, and Forest in the top half. Mate, Forest... That's the best one, though. Yeah, is that the pinnacle of what we've said? I can't believe I'm second. I'm going to have Newcastle third or something. All right. Yeah, because we laughed at how you said it. Yeah, I was really... Have we won the Premier League? I'm more excited to see our mid-season one because then we've actually seen the season so far. I was so stubborn at mid-season.

1:16:53I wasn't giving up. Ready, boys? Yeah, I'm ready, brother. So first, I had Liverpool going into Man City second. Chelsea third. Oh, my God. I have Arsenal fifth. Arsenal fourth. Okay. You did that because of the agenda. I knew Castle fifth. You said on the Zach thing that Newcastle were going to finish third. You said something you don't believe. I think I forget what I'm talking about. I feel like... To be fair, they record... It's not like you. They record... They're covering all day. They normally record at different points, aren't they? So, like, different transfers have happened. Yeah, like one day after the other.

1:17:24The Zach one was before Isaac even left. I thought he was staying. Did you get higher halfway through the season? Is that what we're going to realise? Right, let's see the next five then. Wait, where's your mullet gone? It's gone. Spurs, sixth. Fair enough, mate. Fucking hell, mate. All right, Spurs, like, fifth. Villa, seventh. Brighton 8th Everton 9th Oh! Bangor the ball Which one? Bangor Brighton Brighton 8th Get in Lou Let's go Yeah I got one guys Bournemouth 11th Obviously they massively up Man United 12th Forest 13th Fulham in 14th That's not bad 15th Wolves 16th West Arm That's not bad It's alright Southern 17th That's really bad Leeds and Brentford 19th Burnley 20th You had something staying up I had something staying up But then Because they got Xhaka Didn't they So I thought that was Going to skate them by But they just got the Europa League Hang on You said Brentford Going down as well And I'm the only one That lost 100 Oh yeah You've only got one out of You've only got one out of The three relegated clubs Yeah that's true I got three after you And I'm second best Yeah Well we know We know Surely I'm next And then Tom's last Because Let's see it really Right Do you remember Tom do you remember Earlier in the show When you said I'm never wrong baby.

1:18:44I didn't say that. You did and then you just got up and did the L dance. Yeah. First in Liverpool, same as everyone. Second Arsenal third Man City, fourth Chelsea, fifth Villa. It's not a bad call for Villa to be fair. Sixth Spurs. God we all have Spurs. Seventh Newcastle eighth Brighton. Ninth Man United. Top off. That's the highest so far. Yeah. Tenth Palace that's not necessarily good. I don't know where I am. 11th, Forest. Jeez. 12th, Everton. That's not far. Oh, not too far. 13th, Bournemouth. Oh, that's quite bad. Fulham 14th, West Ham 15th, 16th, Wolves. 17th, Leeds. Oh my God, what the hell have you got?

1:19:27And then Brentford, Sunderland and Burnley to finish off my top 20. That's not even that bad. Yeah. I mean... There's a couple in there that was okay. I've got Villa the highest. I said Villa and get... You thought West Ham and Wolves would stay up? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that's not great. The Wolves... I think I've got both of them staying. My Wolves is lower than his Wolves, though, so I do have them further than that. Who's my relegation again? I don't think I had West... You had Wolves, Burnley and Leeds. They were pretty good. So you got two out there. Leeds, yeah, sorry. Yeah, so you thought some of us there, but I thought Leeds is there.

1:20:00None of us thought West Ham were going down, though. Well, Tottenham, who... It has to mean Tom. Tom, not Tottenham, who has to have the worst list now. Right. Yeah, but I don't think Reeves is worse than Theo's. I think mine's the worst of them. I've asked them for that. I mess the orders up every round. Okay. So just to not give anything away. I had Liverpool, then Arsenal, then Chelsea. Yeah. Then City. Fourth. Then Man United. What was your reason for Man City fourth? They weren't good the season before, were they? I can't remember. I think I just thought they were coming to the end. Man United fifth's all right.

1:20:33Man United fifth. We all had Spurs sixth. Yeah. Spurs sixth. Only 11 places off, boys. Yeah, yeah, close. Spurs sixth. Newcastle seventh. Villa eighth. Everton night. They let me down, man. 10th Brighton. 11th Wolves. Oh, God. Oh, God. Look, I'm happy with that. They nearly didn't even get 11 points. 11th Wolves. 12th Palace. I think I had Palace the lowest. Yeah, Tom, you put your surprising team this season, Wolves. They did surprise everyone. Yeah, that's technically first. That's fucking true, by the way. 13th West Ham. 14th Fulham Where did Fulham finish? 11th 15th Forest 16th Bournemouth You had the lowest I really thought they'd drop off 17th Brentford Oh God Then I had the three coming up Going down I mean in our defence of Brentford Like They got They got pillaged Pillaged again But they're just Abuma Wisser Wisser right Manager Thomas Frank Norgaard Yeah I'm not even that mad at that This is the one I'm most excited Forest is the best show Everyone knew all I didn't top up So after 19 games, we got you to do them again.

1:21:45These could be worse, actually. This time around, we've actually... They should have. We've now seen the Premier League. We have evidence to base our predictions off. So these should be more accurate. Mine's going to be worse. Mine's going to be worse. All right. So this is... You're going to see the whole table at one seed just because of the way the graphics is. I didn't know which time yesterday. Ready? Theo. Oh, Arsenal. City. Oh, I thought Villa would get third. That's not far off. United for... Oh, my God. He's called Sunderland as well. Oh, my God. I called Sunderland in seventh. You almost have Newcastle right.

1:22:13Fucking hell, mate. This is actually pretty good. And Brighton in eighth. You have your bottom three spot on. Bottom three's perfect. So why did you change allegiances to Spurs going down? What point did that happen? Yeah, you took Spurs 12. That was a 19 games though. That was 19 games though, wasn't it? Hey, this is really good. I called the resurgence of former. You called Brentford's drop off as well. Mate, you've got the top four perfect. Sunderland and Brighton. He's one place off Newcastle. Where did Brentford's drop off? Also, Man United finished third. Villa Venice fourth. Also Bournemouth Do you remember We were talking about The only bad ones there Really Are Chelsea And Leeds Forrest And Spurs Leeds finished 14th I predict it's 17th Yeah Genuinely pretty good I mean I'm having the Bournemouth one Because I got a lot of stick For saying they'll turn Their season around Yeah I remember having that argument Get ready for some Prime delusion here I'll fucking take that W 112 I'm going to get that Remade God, I had Newcastle.

1:23:10No, you've got bottom three as well. I had Newcastle fifth, mate. United 10th. You thought Newcastle... I remember my logic was... What was your obsession with Pallix? Why did you get Spurs? Spurs? Oh, I don't know where I'm going. Oh, yeah, I shouldn't really say that. How did I have Spurs seventh? Man United 10th is crazy. What position were they at this point? No, Man United... Not good. Or did they? Man United 10th. Was that under Amrum, though? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Amrum was... Yeah, it wasn't anyone else. That makes Theo's list look so good, by the way. What do you mean this makes Theo's list look so good?

1:23:42My list was good. No, but I'm saying... Even without this, it looked good. Yeah, but I'm saying you've accurately called it. It could be quite easy to call it wrong. Yeah, this isn't a good list. Newcastle and Chelsea. I thought Newcastle would go on a run. I remember I was saying, we always go on a run, guys. We didn't. We didn't do that. That was shocking. Yeah, that was really bad. Reeve. Go on, then. Arsenal. You did go for Arsenal, then. I've got four out of the top five. Chelsea in third. That's not ideal. Man United, sixth. Newcastle in 7th Sunderland in 8th Sunderland in 8th Spurs in 9th But my bottom 3 are Forest Burnley and Wolves that's an incorrect call isn't it Yes Yes Palace in 10th That's wrong Spurs coming back Mate why why did everyone get convinced by Chelsea And why has everyone got Palace so high I don't know Yeah Watch Tom have it even higher No well that's what I'm saying I think I do Oh Everton's bang on I'll take that one Alright let's see Tom's You thought Arsenal would do it Arsenal Yeah Palace is a lot of fun.

1:24:38Everyone thought, yeah, you had Newcastle, you had Newcastle City, you only had one behind me. Oh my God, Tom, you actually don't know ball. To be fair, we really weren't far off at this point. Pretty similar to yours. No, it's not similar to mine at all. It was, at this point, Borish, Bangon, Leeds, Stainer, West Ham going down, Burnley Wolves. Can we do a, a scroll through everyone's top five? Just to see how many people called the, top ten maybe. So Theo got, four out of five. Four out of five, Yeah. Well, three out of five. Plus, the teams. Oh no, the ones to qualify. Sandlin and Brighton is in there as well.

1:25:14Top 10, mate. Oh, you know what? Go for the 20 and see how many positions we've got right. My top five's pretty good. You didn't even call the champions. Yeah. And you had new cards over there. Who's he missing? Man United. Man United in 10th. In 10th. That was a bit of gender driven. I think mine was four out of five but with no Man United. Yeah. Six. 48. Yeah, it's the cruel mistress, guys. Always the same. But we all called Arsenal to win it. Not me. Yeah, and that's what I mean. Yeah. Next up. I was close. Player predictions. Oh, here we go. I remember me. I remember me. Right, I said Haaland would be top scorer.

1:25:51That was right. Yeah. Was it? Oh, my God. He's got a golden boot. Player of the season. Player of the season, Wurtz. Oh, God, young player of the season. Young player of the season, I went with Mariusz Luskele. Can I say? I've been playing about four games. Can I say? Like, calling the young pro of the season was almost impossible because he didn't even play a minute before the season, did he? Look at your best manager. Best manager I went with, Slott. Oh, yeah. First bar. Bang on. First manager, second. Best newcomer? Juve. Yeah, he was strong on the Juve cheer. You were pushing that agenda. You have moments, man.

1:26:29You went ballsy on that. That means that yours is one of the better ones, then, if we've already read it. No, he said he mixed up the sword. Yeah, you're trying to breathe too much into that. I mean, you've got Nuno and Haaland. Oh, breakout star Costulas. He did score an over a kick. He did. Biggest flop for Arteta. Forrest, though. Arteta? Arteta. Forrest is... Can we... Forrest? They finished seven last year. So you printed Arsenal finish second. I can't believe you said that about Arteta. Also, Arteta to flop, I guess because he's finished second again. I can't believe you said that about Arteta.

1:26:59I didn't think you'd win anything. I had to walk away with a double player. That's why I said it was a flop. Is that it? Nice. Damn, that's pretty horrendous. Oh, here comes mine, boys. It's half good, half shit. Yeah, sometimes they were good. Top goal scorer, I had Salah. I genuinely think I might have Salah as well. Come on, play of the season, Verds. Nice. No one for two. Young player. You ready for young player? Yeah. Who the fuck is that? Who the fuck is that, guys? is he? What? Oh my God. Sung Sung Park. I remember who it is. I went so ballsy. Oh my God. What? Oh, you see the next one. Manager of the season.

1:27:44Thomas Frank. Wait, who is Park? See Sung Park is a guy we got from Asia and in preseason he was fucking balling. Did you say See Sung Park? See Sung Park. That's not even his name. Sung Sung Park is his name. See Sung Park. No, it's not Su Su. How many games have you played this season? None. None. How many minutes? None. None. He's been good. If he's played no games, how's he played any minutes? Was that... I remember that one. Because you try to go ballsy for young players and try and catch a good one out. Yeah. Right, so you're north for four. I'm not excited for mine, mate. North for four.

1:28:16What have we got on the other one? He's got two goals. First manager, I was close. He almost got them out. He kept them up. He almost got them out, though. What? Daniel Farker. Next up, Eketika's best newcomer. North for six. You know, Eketika, that's not horrendous. But like, yeah, it was a bit unfortunate. I don't understand how this next one worked, but you just didn't turn up with one. Oh. Breakout. No, breakout. Bro didn't bother. I would have had a breakout. Bro doesn't do jobs. I bet we had an argument about if it classes as a breakout star. Amorim, that's a good call. Amorim and Cunha.

1:28:51Cunha's wrong, but Amorim is random. Cunha's random, isn't it? Amorim's a good call. Amorim was a very good call. Amorim's a good call. There you go. So you got one. Hell yeah. That's good, that. Oh, no, I don't like that. All right, here we go. First, Harland or Rezac. What a fucking clock. Reeves sitting on the fence again. I can't believe that we allowed that. There's been two answers. I can't believe we allowed it. I must have said if he's going to Liverpool. If he's going to Liverpool, then him. But if not Haaland, wow. I think that's exactly what you said. That's exactly what I would have said.

1:29:17That shouldn't have been allowed. That's bullshit. It's a zero for one. Van Dijk, player of the season. Better than first. Lewis Skelly. Yeah. Same call. North for three. Slop. Yeah. North for four. Daniel Farker. Oh, that's a joke. Read them out You can catch people in Trafford That's Newcomers Trafford This was before Donnarumma signed So Still shit Don't let him off I've got half a point On the phone Breakout Max Darman It's a breakout You're on the Premier You give him that A breakout Obviously Of course he is He scores Nah He's had a Gold scorer of all time And the youngest Premier League winner Of all time We now know about him Yeah maybe Maybe And then my final He played six Premier League games.

1:30:04That's enough to earn a Premier League medal and he scored. Is that a breakout, really? Yeah, we talk about it. He's broken into the first team. Krupy Junior's a breakout. No, that's signing of the season. Kinyan and Bremer, not quite. Biggest flop, Kinyan and Bremer, both been good. Yeah. They've been pretty decent. Two of the better signings of the season. Steal. Don't tell me I've got your Kres and goal scorer.

1:30:27By the way. Not far off. That isn't that bad. Yeah, that's... He scored, how many Premier League goals? 15 or 14, I think he's got. I mean, he's like, what, 11 behind them all. Yeah, but... So, that's not horrendous. He's got 14 Premier League goals in his first season. That's decent. I actually won't laugh as much as that. Virch. Yeah, classic. Yeah, I think most of us did that. Lewis Kelly. Slott. Slott. Best manager. Daniel Farker. None of you believed in Daniel Farker? Best newcomer, Jokrej. And Virch. Oh, another one. He sat on the fence. I think we must have had an argument about what a breakout star is It must have been an argument We did I think we had an argument Bro doesn't do job Bro is the job Oh god Oh Wolves and Sesco That's sick Wolves is a good call Sesco's done well Yeah I mean Wolves is a good shot You were set for Sesco for a bit And then Carrick came in Is he Nah Sesco's good now I don't even care what those numbers say Yeah mate I actually 11 goals It's okay We actually Do you know what Predictions are impossible you either look like a genius they are pretty hard especially the star it's a genius what you do we have cup predictions oh god right then I think I said Newcastle I think I'll give us a double this year I'm not going to lie cup predictions Brighton for the Carabao Cup I think that was a hipster call to be fair very Brighton you called Brighton to win the Carabao Cup after everything that's gone on recently with you and Brighton as well oh well me in the bins FA Cup Man City that's correct Champions League Arsenal that's correct as well don't know what happened here Reeve but you just didn't bother giving us a Europa League winner I must have said Aston Villa when everyone else did you got two for two out of four at the moment Crystal Palace Conference League I think we all would have said that same with the most bold same with the Villa one there we go is that all of them I don't think I would have said Villa here I come baby show me Newcastle Carabao Cup Man United they went out to Grimsby and I I said they'd go out to the Crimson on break yeah but yet again you fucking on breaking chances I don't even remember saying that FA Cup did I say Newcastle Newcastle yeah there we are had to be one Champions League Liverpool I think I said Liverpool oh no I said Villa to win Europa League there we go get that Palace to win yeah I got two are you surprised Do you think these are better or worse than what you expected so far?

1:33:00About what I expected, I think. In the middle of the past. This is why when we do the Premier League position, I always try and throw some random things in there because it's always mental, isn't it? You always have to find some mental ones. What, like? Like Newcastle to win the FA Cup, yeah. Right, in mind then, I went with City, Carabao Cup. Yep. Everton FA Cup. They went out to Sunderland.

1:33:29I still think they would have Porto They went out in the semis So it's wrong It's not that crazy No you fucking You're shit bro Hello Palace Palace So we've all got two Oh no See you Wait are you counting Palace or not counting Palace No yeah we've all got two Palace won it By the time this comes out Palace have won it So which ones are your two Palace and City so I've got three then right Phil sorry Ball Knowledge King thank you Cabral Cup Chelsea oh FA Cup Arsenal Champions League Arsenal Champions League Arsenal yeah I called domestic not domestic 0 for 3 Villa 1 well I've got no it's 2 2 1 Fiorentina Conference League to be fair when did Fiorentina got to the semis didn't they yeah I think so horrendous wowie this gets even worse now because this is team of the season isn't it oh fuck I know who I had oh fuck I know who I had right back I know who I had right back right team of season predictions boys who's off the I've had to type in your front front three I think this is when we were trying graphics out for the first time sure thing mate I don't think any of us come away from this go on then Raya here you go who's this who's this this is Theo okay I called Raya and then I think my right back was Gusto yeah oh my god Van Dijk Gabriel we all thought Liverpool win the league didn't we yeah we did Gabriel's in there Gabriel's a good shot Read out the whole team And then you've got Yeah read out the whole team For this people Raya, Gusto, Van Dijk Gabriel, Kerkhez And then the midfield three Of Parma, Kaiseido I think Mourinho will be similar to that Ooh Front three Front three of Saka, Jokerez and Izak Fucking hell That's bad I actually think That's so much better Than what I came up with I think So you have like What two out of eleven We'll give you that Nah Saka No No.

1:35:23You're Chris? No. Two out of 11. Team of the season. Gusto's been all right. No. After his own goal. I actually think that'll be all right. I don't think I've got one. Yeah, I think I'll struggle to have one. I don't think I've got one. Go on, then. Who's next? Next is Lewis. Here we go, baby. Show me Nick Bob. Raya. Fuck. Did we all go Raya then? I think I went Allison. I then went Frimpong Van Dyke, Botman and Kukorella. What the fuck? Botman was out all year. You know when we like tell you our bias and you're like, no man, you want to start seeing you want Jokeres and Saka? You want Botman?

1:35:58Yeah, Jokeres and Saka. Yeah, Botman's out from injury. Two of the forwards who are going to win the title. It's a bit different. Yeah, but they've been the worst. You want to buy. You can't give me the bias, chat. You ready for next three? Next three. It's got to be Newcastle. Tonali, Anderson, Palmer. Oh, Anderson, Anderson. Tonali is... If you say it every year, mate, it's going to finish the happen. Do you know what? If I went for Bruno and said Tenali, I would have been happy with that as well. So he had him as a young player, and then you've had him play. Yeah, I've had him there for a while.

1:36:26He called Elliot Anderson team of the season like two, three years ago. Yeah, I've been saying this for ages. He's finally just a good call after three years. Any guesses for his... I'm going to have Vultvada. I think I remember Sesco being in there because he thought he was going to get Sarai. I thought I was going to get him, yeah. He said Sesco team of the season. I remember that. Let's see it. Yeah. Salah Sesco. Sesco Rams there. Because he didn't have one, did he? We put him in. Let's go Ramsdale. You didn't have a left winger? Ramsdale left wing. I don't know what happened on that one. Anderson's a good one.

1:36:58You only had 10 players, so you were giving Ramsdale. Anderson's a good call. Yeah, Raya Anderson. Ramsdale left wing into the season. Imagine if he actually just burst onto the scene left wing. I'm going to call the season. Burst onto the scene? He could have. In a round for 10 years. No, but if you went left wing. Who's next? Tom. Okay, blood pressure's gone up then. Right then. I have got Raya yes everyone safe bet Raya Timba Gabriel fucking hell I'm cooking Jouf you loved him oh my god Will not know what are you doing wait so I've got Timba Van Dyke Gabriel Jouf Raya and Gold Palmer Cossado McAllister Timba was a good shout until his obviously injuries and then up front I went with Salah Harland and Jai oh god And Jai's had a good season And Jai's had a really good season He's had a good season, yeah Why do I just stick to my salary agenda?

1:37:51Funk knows what mine is That's alright, I'll take that Four, four Where are you getting four? Where are you getting four? Royer, Gabriel, Harland Timbers are good Timbers are good I don't think Timbers are four Only three of them are in the team of the season Oh, we're doing it based on who's in the actual one No, we're not Just based on who's in the actual one I'm happy with Royer, Gabriel, Timber, Harland and Jai I'm happy with that Right, here we go Well, I'm happy with Rabseil left wing then If we're judging off that I thought it was 11 out of 11. That's a different goalie's haircut. Alisson.

1:38:19Oh, no. Stinker. So you've got Alisson in goal. Oh, my God. Van der Verne. Van der Verne. Kukurea. Good chance, buddy. In defence of Kukurea, you had him as well, didn't you? He's been crap this season. He's been one of Chelsea's best players. No, he hasn't. Left wing, mate. I'm an ox. I feel like I've just... He's level. He's been crap. He's so Riley, isn't it, really? Yeah, he is at Riley. Or Hall, even. I went against my agenda Roger Rice Palmer Rice is in there I'll take one I think Sally Yocker as Izek Oh my god That's so bad That is shocking Oh dear Why did I say Harlan Slash Izek for top scorer And then put Yocker as in Yeah That doesn't make any sense Does it No it doesn't Wait someone on this panel Not making sense That's crazy I'll take the Declan Rice one I was the only person That said Rice Yeah that's true But everything else Is a shit show Why didn't I do that Why haven't I got Gabrielle or Saliba in so on a scale of 1 to 10 how happy are you each with your predictions 1 out of 10 I reckon 2 out of 10 overall on everything like a 7 4 my mid season was class oh no team of the season or everything everything 7 out of 10 7 out of 10 happy mid season was about a bang off what's the worst call from anyone on the table your what Wolves 11th it's got to be up there hasn't it it's probably Wolves Ramsdale left wing team of the season yeah but that would have been a joke wouldn't it he wouldn't actually yeah probably finished the season well Van Steele as well maybe Van Der Ben yeah he did great man left wing nah Wolves is worse than that yeah what best Nuno first manager sacked Bournemouth resurgence Elliot Anderson team of the season no not don't do hard do before the season started it's got to be a pre-season prediction yeah I mean Lewis's Lewis's park for young players got to be up there as well isn't it oh yeah is that not that actually that is the one and Thomas Frank best manager See, I call him Wolves as a flop.

1:40:16That's a good one. I call Wolves as a flop. Yeah, that's a good one. That's a good one. Yeah, that was a ballsy one for me. Generally, it's pretty bad. Hey, here's to another next season, boys. They're not horrendous. You know what, though, Lewis? At least you're not sitting on the fence. At least you... Oh, shots fired at Reeve! No, that was absolutely nothing to do with me. No, I'm just telling Lewis that he's done well to try and be different. Don't use that fucking word again. Nah, Sung Soo Park next season, mate. He's going to fucking bang him for us. Where is he now? He's got two guys. He's just under 21s.

1:40:45He's vibing. Obviously, he's still under 21s. Oh, okay. Fuck you, man. Just vibing. Well, moving on. Well, you lot have been loving the tier list recently, so we're going to do it again. We're going to be ranking every single team season so far. Are we... I think we should look on the broader spectrum of football, right? What on earth are you on about? So, for example, Palace in the Premier League, not a good season, but Palace this season have been good. There's a good season. Yeah, it's your whole season. Yeah, it's your whole season. Yeah, every team's season. Yeah. Do you reckon? Not every team's Premier League.

1:41:13I think they've had a bit of a disappointing season. No, but like we're saying cup competition is coming into a team's season. So Palace of... They do. But it would be a massive, massive foul if they didn't win that. No, but if they do win it... We are recording. We should say we're recording ahead of the conference league final. So we're anticipating them winning. Which they're obviously going to win. Yeah. Who are they against? Under the impression that... Some shit team from fucking Kazakhstan probably. I don't know. It's tomorrow night, isn't it? Real Vallecano from Madrid. They'll be champions of Europe, man.

1:41:42Yeah, Rayo Vallecano Oh my god They're going to be Champions of Europe See where they are Vallecano finished 8th Fucking Have you seen The state of La Liga though Mate, Seville have finished 44 points off So who? Seville Seville, whatever They've finished Where they finished 13th Mate, look at 18th Up to Vallecano A few weeks ago From 8th down to the bottom 3 They could all get relegated It was ridiculous No, Mallorca are down On goal difference Yeah, but Tenerife we've got promoted. Right. So. Let's kick things off with the Wolves. Oh, I think that might be a D. Yeah. There almost should be a separate tier, really.

1:42:26One of the worst teams we've ever seen in the Premier League. I mean, we'd be looking to make D, wouldn't we, really? Do you know what's crazy as well? Is that if you just beat Burnley, you would have finished above them. Yeah, we didn't. Do you know what's crazy? Like, yeah, if the usual Woodland, I think if we finished 19th, it would have actually just... I don't know. I'd stop really caring where we finished, but I've got three or four weeks left. It was just let's get the new season going. For sure. D it is. Yeah, D for Wolves. I don't think it needs too much discussion. West Ham, D. 14 years in the Prem.

1:43:00Back in the Championship. Yes, absolutely a D. Spurs, D. Spurs, also a D. Do you reckon that needs a tier below it for Spurs? No, they stayed up, mate. It's an awful season, but they are... And they're qualified out of the Champions League group. Even though it's fucking easy to do. It is crazy because even though we're putting them D, it could have been worse. Yeah, absolutely. It couldn't have been worse. West Ham's season is worse than Spurs. No, I'm saying we're putting Spurs in D, but it could have been worse. What I'm saying is if you're talking about adding an extra... Oh, no, they're definitely D.

1:43:30West Ham would be dropping. Yeah, but technically, realistically, they're qualified out of the Champions League league stages. They've stayed up. Is it not a C? Are you a Spurs fan? Let's be honest. Is it not a C? No, mate. I'm just asking I'm just asking There's no There is a question Where It's like Their season Isn't the same As if they got relegated And it's 17th last year And then they've just They've just replicated The same season So at the start You could argue for B And they've qualified At the Champions League group stage They won a trophy last season Yeah that's what I mean But that's why Last season would have been an A But obviously this season That's probably a C Well they had the debate last year And I think you might have even put Spurs up Logically If you put them C now for Survivor And a relegation Would have been a D Yeah, if they would have gone down, it would be a D.

1:44:11That's a good point, actually. Last year when we didn't quite agree but put Spurs in F or A. Because they won a trophy. I'm saying as a panel we didn't. But they won something. Whereas we said if they don't win it, they're going to have to be in D. So really, on the other side of the coin this season, it is just a D, isn't it? No, because they've stayed up, mate. They've survived. That was their target at the start of the year. That was their target. It was six weeks ago. But that's why it's not C. they've they've they've it's deep but why you used to have such an agenda yeah you just said there that West Ham have had a worse season than Spurs do you think at the start of the season you explained what happened for the two seasons you'd still think West Ham had a worse season better man Spurs were on the brink of relegation yeah but they did survive West Ham are now in the championship yeah it's still worse yeah but in terms of expectation that's what I'm asking in terms of expectations in the club West Ham wouldn't have expected to be in a relegation true true why are we pandering on this they're in D I'm just saying there's a conversation to be out of here so we have an order what order would you put them in in that order no Spurs have to be ahead of Wolves than West Ham yeah Spurs would be furthest to the left oh wait Wolves would be bottom Wolves would be the worst yeah so Wolves on the right and then West Ham in the middle oh is that how it works yeah Forest they got to a semi-final It's obviously a D They finished 7th last season They stayed up And they got to the semi-final Of Europe They didn't get relegated What are you doing They had a Europa League semi-final So they should By the way That competition Is crap Stop taking away Every single European competition I'm not Where are they at in the league?

1:45:52Conference League is shit Europa League is shit Anything else that's shit? Because they're all diluted Anything else that's shit Get it off your chest It could be It could be It could be C Do you think If you said to a Forest fan At the start of the season you get a Europa League semi-final but you finish 16 would you take that yeah I think they would I don't think they enjoy that too much not based on how much they enjoyed last year their manager got sacked they've sacked two managers three managers this season they've had four managers this season they finished seventh last year when they're in prime positions to get Champions League football they kept Morgan Gibbs wide had Chris Wood injured spent loads of money yeah true no Chris Wood man and they've only just about stayed up towards the end of the season when Chris Wood came back They have got it right.

1:46:35Pereira's now in charge. They went out... Who did they buy? Igor? Summer season. Igor, Jesus. They signed another striker who's barely played. Backward as well. Not Hudson-Odoi. Hutchinson. Yeah. He signed in the summer, wasn't he? They've spent a decent amount of money. Gibbs White was basically a new signing. But you were... Everyone like... I'm not trying to make it about my prediction. When I said Forest would fight over this season... But I will. Everyone was like, what are you on about? They're obviously going to finish top. We had the whole argument about how why can't they kick on to finish in the top four?

1:47:05No, we were saying they could kick on. No, you said they will. No, we were saying they could. It was could. It's the C word. It's all about anything can happen in football. Okay, but do you think finishing 16th, you're arguing Spurs finishing 17th? I do. They're in a better season than Spurs. At some point, teams are going to have to start going into different tiers. And Forrest are going to have to admit, they had a terrible season, but they've survived and they've got semi-final. C - is different to D +, isn't it? Yeah. I think they're in C. They're not on the same tier as like a Wolves. I think you're really forgetting at the end of last season.

1:47:37No, but it's going to spread out throughout the tier. Like they're not... We have these 20 teams to get through, mate. We've got enough teams. I don't think they're the same tier as like a Spurs and Wolves and West Ham. They were like ridiculous. Like they've had a terrible season, but they've had some... Yeah, but they haven't went down and they got a semi-final. That's a... I think they should get bumped up for that. Yeah, even as a fan, you've had some decent European... Yeah, it's not just absolute sorrow, which it has been for the teams in D. They beat Porto. They got absolutely battered at Villaport.

1:48:07Yeah, but you know what? That happens in football, Tom. Teams in D are just like no happiness. They lost for the winners. Five wins in a row. It's a C. For us fans, if I'm starting to cheer about this season, Spurs have had nothing to cheer about. Nothing. Have the weekend. We'll have a vote. I'm not voting anyway, so they're voting C. I think they're D. Newcastle's in D. Yeah, I'm happy. I'm happy to throw up. It's going to go actually very contradicting to Forrest. Expectation though. But they've had so much to cheer about. They've had good games in the Champions League. I want us to go in E.

1:48:41They had a cup run. They had two cup runs. I want us in E, please. What games did they cheered about in the Champions League? We had a good Barcelona. We had a good home game. That was great. Your highlight of this season is drawing to That was a great game by the way. The highlight is winning 1-0 at home to Villa Then getting smashed away from home By the way I'm with you I want an eight They got to what The semi-finals of the Carabao Cup It's a bit different Why? It's actually a higher competition A European semi-final You just completely Ponged it to you No I'm not I want us to do Yeah we are a different tier And also we spent more as well We're talking about Newcastle and Nottingham Forest We spent more We were higher in the league They finished similar positions last year We were higher Similar positions Champions League places A bit different isn't it Newcastle were far bigger We're going to have far more money to spend as well.

1:49:27We spent more money. Mate, we're D. We're E. Yeah. We're G. I think they're both. D, this is my point. Put me in fucking D. Put the D in me. Manchester United. Everywhere. Just behind fucking West Ham. It's not worse than Spurs, is it? It's not worse than Spurs. It's got to be worse than Spurs. It feels worse than that. You haven't floated with relegation whatsoever. Manchester United is an interesting one. You've also just been like saying, oh, well, the table lies because you've done a whole spiel. Be interesting when we put Sunderland, eh? Defending of why... I know, but emotions are boldy.

1:50:00I'm just thinking about, like, I haven't got any good times. Could I... Fuck them. Push Manchester United into B? Down. What do you mean, down? Well, I think B... They're not C. Is it higher? Because surely their goal this year... They've got Champions League football. Yeah, but that would be their goal. Yeah, B. Knocked out by Grimsby. They were so bad in that. Do you know what I mean? But it's a different... It's like two different seasons away. I think Man United is a B. Stop saying that. No, at the start... At the start of the season, their goal would have been to qualify for the Champions League.

1:50:29And they did that. Yeah, but then... And probably win a cup, though. That's my point. But then everything else, they got knocked up by fucking Grimsby. That's why I'm thinking it's B. They've finished third, though. It's B. Yeah, I agree with B. I feel like you were thinking people were going to say A. People were thinking it was like A. Yeah, is it not better than that? No, I think it's B. I thought you were arguing for... No way. They spent about 200 million in the summer. No, it's not A. And now those players are playing well. But they were terrible In the Cups May Grimsby Come on B is good And not great They haven't had a great season You think you might have An A season An A season As if they actually Had a cup run or something Based on people's expectations At the start of the season Yeah We all have them Getting Champions League In their top six No we did not No I had them 12 I had them 12 But they're idiots But I had them 12 On the idea That it was Amrum It doesn't matter About our opinion The board would have said to Amaran at the time and obviously Carrick Champions League football was a minimum but then we're not doing it by the board then are we because not even Forest would be in there Matt you really think Manchester United had an A season be honest yeah knocked out by Grimsby first round in the FA Cup that's a really should we win the cup FA Cup I love a lot they weren't out first round did they not well third round I can't remember but this is my point that's a really that's a really shit Manchester United would have been Champions League and get a cup lost at home to Brighton do you know what I mean yeah that's former their competition would be Champions League and a cup get a cup run they only got Champions League I don't think it was they had quite a bad season they went and got I think it was just getting back into Europe generally you have to take into use the cup no we can't do that because we our argument our argument last year was Man United could turn it around this quickly and yours was no they can't do that but this is not a Premier League review thing we have to look at all the competitions yeah he has cooked you there a bit yeah but you said they wouldn't bounce back as quickly as we said yeah they're proving me wrong that's why it's a B but I can't put it in A what?

1:52:26because they got knocked up they're all over fucking Grimsby and you're saying it's an A yeah but we can't brother they lost to Brighton they got knocked up third by the FA Cup it can't be an A we have to look at all the competitions how they've performed in them in fairness they have finished third everyone thought United were going to be dog shit the entire year if you think about it at the start of the same yard Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool Chelsea like they finished third to be fair in the league that's why it's a B it could be an A for that. Man United finishing third this season I think actually might be in here.

1:52:59I think finishing third for Man United is a good season. Being knocked out in the cup competitions the way they were was embarrassing so it levels out to a B. That's what I think. That's exactly our reasoning. It's a very good season for them. It's a very good season in the Premier League. Yeah, but it's not just the Premier League. They lost to Grimsby, man. Grimsby. Would you not look objectively at the end of the year and go, OK, are we in a good position compared to where we were? Yeah, that's like B. That's good. No, I think it has to be. You might have convinced me. A is great. Neither of you even had them in the top 10.

1:53:31That's what I mean. I didn't think they were going to be shit for a while. You said they were going to rock forever. And they're now in contention to maybe challenge for a title next year. Mate, they won nothing. They got knocked out by Grimsby. They went out in the third round of the FA Cup, but they've got Champions League. So, shit, good, middle, B. That is science. No, because great would BS, wouldn't it? so having a good year would be no no S is like the best possible season yeah absolutely A is a great season yeah or very good B is good I think Manchester United in B is really weird why?

1:54:02because of what I've said do you think they've had a better season than Sunderland? because of what I've said do you think they've had a better season than Sunderland? no so then for if you put United in A you'd have to put Sunderland in S I think Sunderland will be in S yeah yeah fairs alright then but hang on we've got City next City have won a domestic double and finished second in the league their standards That's an A That's an A That's an A That's an A Man's standards are different No they're not Manchester United's standards Every season is to win something No but The standard of Man City And the realism of I understand you're going With the same expectation But the The realism of a team Achieving it Is like Completely different City have failed in the league Yeah no I don't think I think City are an A City have failed in the league Filed in the Champions League But succeeded In the domestic competition Man United have succeeded In the Premier League And failed in every other competition I know but they're different tiers of team in recent years like they're different tiers of team of team yeah not club Manchester City yeah but like that club is irrelevant you can take the name away it's about on paper just to like circle back to Manchester United they got almost 30 points more than they did last year yeah that's why it's a team we're not trying their Premier League performance but it's not just a Premier League I think you're right I do actually think it's there but do you not think for the expectations we had of Manchester United we thought they would not a single person would have ever said We all thought they fell off.

1:55:22I don't know how dire it was at that club. Yeah, they finished third. The whole season. Correct. Made their third in the Champions League. The fact that they have finished in their Champions League position is insane. When was the last time they were in the Champions League? You think they've had just as good of a season as Manchester City? When was the last time Man United in the Champions League? It's not insane them finishing third when also in context Liverpool have completely fell off. Right, but at the start of the year not a single person would have ever considered them to finish top four.

1:55:48Of all the clubs to argue and I didn't think it would be our game over Man United. I think they've been the most controversial. I think both sides have good points, but I think objectively Man United finishing third. You said that, it's like, great, he's won back in the Champions League, we can grow from there. Man United getting knocked out by Grimsby, what about that? Yeah. I know, but like... I think Man United as a club finishing third should be just the bare minimum. But it hasn't been the bare minimum for years, you can't see it. I don't care, but Man United as a club, every single season, the bare minimum should be finishing.

1:56:14But as a club, that's not been their level, that's why this isn't here some of their footballers didn't want to take a penalty against Grimsby yeah the last time they finished third was the 22-23 season under Ten Hag and they also won an AFL it was only four years ago which is way better than this 54 years ago that's what I'm saying four years ago since you got Champions League that's quite a while four years four years four years was it it's three years ago I mean I can be out of here and they won a club Manchester United always tend to win something want something they failed completely in the competition They haven't had anything to play for.

1:56:47They've been playing once a week. I don't actually mind them in either, if I'm honest. They've brought a manager in who's just played players in the wrong position. They've actually finished where they fucking should have, to be honest, with the money they spent. Sesco and Bomo, Cunha. Yeah, I didn't actually think about that. They did spend a fuck ton, didn't they? They're Man United. Oh, aye, because they come third. Do you know what? I don't care where they finished last year. Maybe we put them C. They should be finishing in the top four or five. They should be. I don't care where they finished the previous year.

1:57:14Spurs, every year, should be finishing in the top six. I don't care what they did the last year because they have the resources and the pull and the size of the club and the facilities to be finishing in those positions every single year. Man United should be third. I think they might be C, mate.

1:57:58That's why I think these are fair. we've actually got to look at them as a club and then where they've finished Sunderland have obviously finished 7th done nothing else but the fact Sunderland shouldn't they shouldn't have even been in the top 10 a good example is when we come to Crystal Palace you know they've actually been quite poor this season but they could walk away over European trophy which is a really successful season for them yeah but that's why it's difficult to call because it could either be high or low couldn't it well if Palace walk away over European trophy we'll get onto that but I think it's B Yeah Are we putting City A Yeah City's A Yeah I think City's A I think double's good I mean Domestic double At one point they almost won The fucking triple Yeah I mean like Come on For City To win a double And that's their off season Yeah you've got two trophies And to push the mighty Arsenal Yeah All the way To seven points clear But if you're saying off season Is that not a They have had an off season But they've won a domestic double They've got a double Let's not do this Let's not do this Just play devil's advocate Who got the community shield?

1:58:59Did they get a triple? Tribble? Did they have the community shield? Who got the community shield? Palace won. Oh, Palace won. Yeah, City weren't even in it. What? It was Liverpool Palace, wasn't it? Yeah, Palace won two trophies this season. Yeah, we'll get to that. Oh, we will. Right, City A. Yeah, City A. Sunderland, S. Europe. I mean, there's no denying it. It's bloody fantastic, isn't it? And if you look at that, right, Sunderland, S, Newcastle, and D, and you still think Newcastle are better. Yeah. Moving on to Liverpool. This is a tough one. They got Champo. C. I know, but that's bare minimum.

1:59:33I think C. I think this could be D. No, D is if they literally actually missed out of Champions League. Like C is... They did that bare minimum. They missed out because they were close. There has to be something below that. One of the best defences of a title ever, though. Yeah, I know, but like... With all the money they spent. But I will say... Oh, I do forget about the money. The only thing I think is C is because as bad as they've been, how much money they did, the bare minimum. It's not like they didn't do nothing. Yeah, they got a Champions League. I actually don't think the bare minimum is for them, with the money they spent after winning the league.

2:00:04Bare minimum is Champions League football. They finished below Man United. No, no, no. Imagine if anyone would have said that. Bare minimum for Liverpool is Champions League football. Bare minimum would have been Silverware, wouldn't it? Finished below Villa. I don't think you can ever see a bare minimum. No, like bare minimum. It's all unpredictable though. Bare minimum for a team to build on that squad. No, they're talking about bare minimum. The lowest of the low. They didn't compete on any front. No, I know. I agree. But the lowest of the low what 400 million yeah there has to be how much did they spend yeah they spent I also get that money I know how much they spent but the champions spent nearly half a billion I know and finished 446 million no I agree with you but they've had a better season than Spurs yeah but they could be a bull Spurs indeed it's the fact that it's fifth for me as well because that's not even top four exactly they've only finished in the Champions League I know they've finished fifth because Arsenal have got so far in the competition but also top five in the Champions League driving the Premier League for Champions League is quite common now.

2:00:59Yeah, I know. Most seasons is now top five. Pardon me, just... No, to be fair though, you have to remember at the start of the season, Liverpool fans were going at the start of the season. Let's wrap it up now where we've done it. They were really... And we won them. Yeah, the transfer fee is quite relevant because that raises the expectation. They're already champions and that's raised the expectation beyond it. But I just think... But like... I agree with you on all the points, but they've got Champions League football. It has to be a tier below though because the same argument that you gave about Manchester United's expectations should be a trophy every season.

2:01:31Yeah. You dropped me down one for that. It's D at the head of Newcastle. Liverpool should be dropped from C for that. At the top of D, I think. Yeah, it's top of D. It's an awful season for them based on what they were going into. It's an absolute disaster. They literally signed two players over 120 million. Think of all the turmoil with Salah and all that and Van Dijk's drop-off, everything that's been going on at the club. As a season, it's got to be a D. They limped out of the fucking Champions League. They didn't even put up a fight, really. It has to be So worse than Forest Not as bad as Newcastle Yeah I mean I still think Forest is down there But Leeds So long as we're keeping it Stayed up I'd go S Semi-final of a FA Cup as well I'd go S S needs to be somewhere Where it's like Really like Nearly Nearly everyone had them Going down They finished 14th And an FA Cup run Semi-final of a cup And what more Are they going to do But like Sunderland in the same Which uses them And got Europa League So you can't put them In the same as Sunderland You can't just below them Sunderland are a freak just because Sunderland have gone to a level where but that's what S is that's what S is it's for unbelievable you can't overcrowd S that is unbelievable yeah A is still great but S is for like this is that's like the absolute cream of the top yeah yeah Sunderland went out to Port Vale in the cup yeah but that's literally irrelevant it's literally irrelevant they got Europa League don't you think that is irrelevant it is they got Europa League it is irrelevant They prioritised the Premier League.

2:02:53They got Europa League. Like, Leeds can't go the same tier as them. But Leeds got the semi-final of a cup. Even then, but Europe. I think you are right. It is. It's absolutely unbelievable. Yeah, it is. That's what S tier is. That's exceeding expectations. It is, like, unbelievable. Because B is middle of the road, right? So B should be, okay, we've achieved what we should have done at minimum. Yeah. Everything above that. And then, yeah, they're in A. S should only ever have, like, a few names in real. I mean, Liverpool should be in the Champions League. we're putting Leeds yeah I think a better or worse than Man City that Man City want a double Leeds stayed ultimately Leeds stayed up yeah mate there were 8 points the thing I hold against Man City the thing I hold against Man City is though they kind of bottled the league no but lads winning a domestic double is more impressive than a a promoted team getting set up no but they stayed they were as good as done no I know but in a manner of them not really being in the conversation for the final 6 weeks of the season that's quite no I'm not thoroughly impressive what they've done and like Tom said they do get a 75 off then we need to give them a bit of respect a domestic double on an off season but off season you don't excuse them for an off season off season is why they're lower down because it's an off season do you think it's actually more impressive to do on an off season no but like no but you saying that they're having an off season means they should be lower down City fans will say that they've had a better season than Leeds fans would say that their season's gone I'm pretty sure City fans will say that yeah Really?

2:04:22I don't know I think Leeds are probably Of course they're going to say I reckon Leeds They'll be holding their trophies up Parading it around Fucking Manchester Yeah but they're the two trophies They don't really care about That's the thing Care about the FA Cup Pep's always cared about the FA Cup Yeah you Just not listen to what I said Leeds did get to a sale Out of the four competitions Which competitions Do they care about the most? Probably Champions League There you go I still want a domestic double Yeah Yeah they're in here They've had a good season But Mate You You all had Falk getting sacked first.

2:04:52Everyone said Leeds were going to get down. I think they've had an incredible season. That's why they're in hate. They were on an unbelievable run. But City... Okay, then. Have City had an incredible season? No. Have Leeds? Yes. So they're above them? Yeah. Good logic. Fulham's an interesting one. Is that... They've confused me this season. Oh, I'd say C. No, C because of the FA Cup when he went out to Southampton. Oh, Southampton, yeah. He rotated against Southampton. But then I just think, how can Forrest be in the same bracket? But then you've got Fulham above them, haven't you? Yeah. And they didn't really spend much either.

2:05:26So it's not like they've built horrendously on them. Yeah. The cup run, though, was bad. Do you think Margot Silva will be manager of Fulham? Have you heard? I've got it right again. Enfica. Enfica. When did you say that? On the show last week. I don't think you were a shock. Inside knowledge? Inside a trade? Yeah, he was a bit of a guess, to be honest, just because Mourinho was leaving. Everton. C. Yeah. It's not B. It's not B. They don't know where they ended. 13. They were below it. A lot of them want Moise out, didn't they? They're below you. Really? Yeah, that's bad. They're below Newcastle.

2:06:00How could it be below us? They should have pushed for Europe. That's what I mean. They were in a good position for Europe. And actually, they started the season really well. Yeah. There was a lot of excitement about their front three, wasn't there? Above or below Fulham. Yeah. I don't really know. I mean, I mean, it has to be below. It has to be below. the league. You are. They finished three points below them. That's what I mean, they're lower and they spent the same as far as I remember. I feel like Everton just had a bit more excitement about them, haven't they? Oh, well, that's more reason then for Everton.

2:06:28No, Harry Wilson. Oh, yeah, Harry Wilson, of course. Yeah, Everton. Yeah, that's all right. Yeah, we're good. Next up was Palace. Are we doing it based on if they've won or not won? Lads, they're going to do the double. I mean, let's face it. If they win tomorrow night, it is A. It's the second trophy of the year, I really don't agree. European trophy. I think it's B. Like when West Ham won it. They've been so bad this year. All the turmoil with Glasner and all that shit. Hang on. It's, let's be honest. It's fucking, them winning the FA Cup is way better than the Conference League. Last year was like an A.

2:07:03Mate, the Palace fans have got, they're going to go abroad and see the team win a trophy. This is the greatest period. And they won the Community Shield. Like mate, they're living a dream. It's a near. last year they never won a trophy till last year now they're going to win like the full trophy in two days by the way we can't do that you can't say oh because they've had a good two years this season when they win this so they get Europa League yeah so they get Europa League it's here it's here they've got Europa League it's our argument with Tottenham it's our Tottenham argument you can't not do it by the way could be fucking S no they've got Europa League they lost their best players round the Tottenham hotspot argument exactly the same Europa League two trophies however they might not win it yeah if they don't then it's horrendous if they win it honestly it could be S they'd have Europa League and a trophy what are you saying?

2:07:58if they win it they have Europa League and a trophy that could be S they qualified for Europa League last year as well yeah but that's an amazing season still isn't it? yeah it's a great season but I mean come on if one about Palace if one about Palace and like Europa League I don't think Palace fans are disappointed of their club this season if they win a trophy. But what if they don't? We're going on the premise at the end. Sorry, so we're literally... Yeah, it's like Spurs' argument, mate. If Spurs didn't win that trophy, it was like the worst season of all time. But if they did, there you go then.

2:08:29I was dishonest, mate. So you're saying, yeah, but Spurs did win it. Yeah, and... But we have to assume, don't we? No, I understand, but it's also a different level of competition to win, isn't it? It's more the qualification you get. So we're saying one game he's going to define fantasy's whole season yes 1 % because you could say Arsenal could have Arsenal could have not yeah Man City Man City could have won a Premier League yeah and then it would come down to Arsenal in the final against PSG he's like one game we'll decide we had a good or bad season yes we had this exact argument with Tottenham yeah Grimsby decided Man United to be in B so that is fair so Chelsea Jesus D What a mess No U So many D's No trophies Half the league's Going to be in fucking D F they got final though Yeah Really interesting City were there For the taking And they were shocking Interesting Point here Because of how badly It's gone And they've had to Change managers over and over again And they've ended up With Xabi Alonso Does that I thought they see It's next season You're going to give A higher degree Because they managed to get Alonso No no no But I'm saying like The position they've actually Ended up in this year Is kind of Alonso might end up being shit.

2:09:42Yeah. Well, you think he's going to win the Premier League? No, but we can't base it on just what I think is going to happen. Yeah, of course. I said Virgil's going to be part of the season. I'd even say there's a case. Chelsea have had a worse season than Spurs. Because they've both had the same outcome. No. And that Chelsea have spent considerably more. They got to the final of the FA Cup. Yeah. Chelsea have been worse than the FA Cup. And they got to what? The quarterfinals of the Champions League? Or the round of 16? Both of them got no. And you thought they were going down? Because you said 6-7 and he's a baby.

2:10:08Oh, right. Sorry. Yeah, it's lower than Newcastle. Yeah, lower than Newcastle. Yeah. Whack them in between Newcastle and Spurs. We did it. Go on. Burnley's D. But is it though? Because their expectation, they're not expected to stay up. Yeah, they finished 19th, didn't they? Not rock bottom. Maybe I'll put them in A then. It's above. It is better than the Spurs though, no? It's better than West Ham. They tried. They went 19th. It wasn't rock bottom. Better than West Ham. Yeah, it is better than West Ham. They expected to go down. West Ham didn't Brighton Europe B I'd say A No way Nah bang on the money They're not the same as Palace City and League They're not the same as Palace City and League Yeah they've bottled both games back to back to finish They've ended up in the Conference League Brighton are in Europe for the first time What?

2:10:55No it's not the first time they're in Europe Yeah Well in my lifetime No it's not No it's not You just can't fall back Were they in Europe? A few seasons ago Under De Zerbe Europa League Would they have ever expected to finish top eight? Yes. Okay, so that's got to be a B then. If it's not exceeding expectations. They would have 100 % expected top eight. You can't be putting them the same tier as the others. They haven't outdone themselves. Worse than United. Brentford. They joined them and be there as well. But then Brighton have had a better season than Brentford. Yeah, but Brentford lost the manager.

2:11:32Brentford, we had them. Yeah, they were pillaged. They had their entire club ransacked, including their manager and they've got better. They hired a set piece coach. Where did Brentford finish last season? And they're better. It must have been like 16th or 17th I think. Was it 16th? In between? They finished 10th. 10th, yeah. But they're better. Better by one place, yeah. So B? Better or worse than Brighton? They actually got less points this season than last year. But you said points don't matter. You said it's more competitive so it's harder to get points. What? I was just playing it because they got a higher I was just saying that because they finished higher with less points Yeah but they had Thomas Frank and they had Mbwemo and they had Norgard and they had your mum at the back Interesting And they had who was in goal?

2:12:20It wasn't for any reason Last year What are you talking about? Because they signed Right They signed Keller It was Flecken wasn't it? Flecken Yeah I think I don't know Is it just a B then? I think it's a B I think Really though I mean, I had them down, but... It's a B. We've all been saying what an amazing... Keith Andrews could be manager of the season and all this. I know, but then he fell out of the places. He fell out of the places. Now he's 10th, he's middle. That's a B. The outcome from the season is not what they wanted to get. Tom, they've won one football match. We were saying that when he was around 5th and 6th.

2:12:55They've won once since February the 28th. Redfuss? That's a drop-off. No, they're not. They've finished above Chelsea. They've won three on that form chart there. That's last season's table. Oh, sorry. I was confused what I was looking at there. Yeah they've drawn way too many The only team they've beaten since February 20th is West Ham Yeah 3-0 as well Big game London Derby They're showing it I think it's B Is it B? Yeah The mid-table It's B But it's B though isn't it? They've done what they wanted to do for the year It's better than Man United Stay in the league With a new manager And build on what they did Aston Villa Well yeah You can't complain can you?

2:13:35Trophy and Champions League. Double Champions League. Done everything. They finished fourth. They finished above Liverpool. What a season. Are we ending... Bear in mind, didn't they not score a goal for the first five games? Are we ending with just S's here? Yeah, because we did. Kept shooting from long range and then eventually started. We might be ending... It started working. Might be ending with some S's here, boys. Because they kept winning on XG. Have Villa had a better season than Sunderland, lads? No. Oh, maybe. I think you have to. No, no, no. A promoted team getting your whoop. Stop saying my whoop.

2:14:05Villa, in fairness, in fairness, Villa is S. Actually, Villa were probably favourites to win the Europa League. Yeah, they're favourites to win the Europa League. They should have won it, and they have, so they've done it. And they're finishing Champions League, which would have been their aim. Yeah. So it has to be S because they've won the Europa League and they've finished top four. Oh, yeah, just, yeah. No, we already said that Sunderland is almost in a tier of its own. Yeah. But Villa has to be S. Yeah, Villa's also S. 100, brother. Right. Should we do Bournemouth? Yeah. Bournemouth. It's got to be A, innit?

2:14:43No, they're not Champions League, are they? It's above Palace. If they had Champions League. Bournemouth Football Club would finish sixth. Yeah. If they finish Champions League, they'd be yes. No, but he was debating whether or not it should be higher. Yeah, but because it's not Champions League, obviously it's... I mean, it could be. The annoying thing is not Champions League is only because Villa have finished fourth. Bournemouth are in the Europa League, lads. Remember, they sold a lot of their players as well. Yeah. I think it could be. S Nah it's not S They're in the Europa League We just said about S being like unbelievable Yeah it has to be creme de la creme That would be them getting Champions League Yeah I think it's them getting Europa League It's no Everyone had them like 15 They've been around they've been around the top half of the table in the past It's not like the It's not that crazy Bournemouth It's an unbelievable They lost You're wanting to put them in S because they got Europa League when something got promoted and then got Europa League and they're in S They've lost the Bonnet Halson Kirkes Well that's what I'm saying He wants to put them On the same par But once been a Premier League team For years And got better They've achieved the same As Sunderland But Sunderland got promoted And did it Yeah but So it has to be in S Yeah I think they're in S But below Yeah in A No it's A mate They're not in it They got pillaged as well They finished 9th last season And now they've finished 6th So they've been great With players getting stolen Off them left right and centre But they've also then Recruited well Credit to them by the way You act like Bournemouth That don't spend a load of money They spend loads They are a bit of lucky They also sell a lot They are a bit of lucky If they If they If they qualify for the Champions League They'd have to play their games at Fucking Saints No they wouldn't Their stadium Is not qualified for the Champions League Yes it does It doesn't It's because of the media They don't have enough media sections It would be the same as Bodo Glimped They don't have enough media areas for it They'd just add it Or in a car park I don't know where they do But they'd figure a way out They wouldn't have to play at Southampton They would I swear If we're putting it in an A It's a very high A Look at the money they spent, by the way.

2:16:33They bought Ben Doak for 25 million. That is such a weird... Yeah, I mean, a lot of that money is from sales, though. True, but... Ryan? They finished ninth last year. They finished ninth last year. They've obviously improved and finished it. It's a great season. It's not S. Yeah, I agree. It's high A, though. Yeah. Yeah, high A. That's fair. Yippee-high A. They sell so well, don't they? Look at that. It's money, mate. They're such a well-run club. Look at all that money By the way That Tara deal Is amazing Fucking hell That's actually insane 42 mil Tara Oh Jesus And they finished 6 By the way They actually Yeah they made money This season They made money By far 250 million Five players Is that why You're having them there I'd have higher than Leeds I don't mind Higher than them They've got Europe Last one though They're unfortunate That Villa finished 4th Not 5th Otherwise it would be Champions League so it's like it's kind of out their hands a little bit as well last one on the list boys it's not out their hands is it if they'd have finished fifth they'd have qualified if they'd won one of their games that they fucking kept drawing for the last half of this season I'd have had Leeds ahead of them personally but that's just me Arsenal's S isn't it Premier Champs Champions League still to go where do they go though I think it's A what well let's hear the arguments because I don't think it's a given it depends are we going on the idea that you win the Champions League because I don't think you win the Champions League I think you Yeah, you've fouled in every competition other than the Prem.

2:18:00The Prem is obviously like the creme de la creme. You've really... I know you're trying to... You're trying to... You're trying to rile us up. It's actually a valid point. Like, if you win the Champions League, that's an S. But without it, it's an S. What was this season? Win the Premier League. And you've done it, so you've had a great season. If anything, it could be B. If you then win an extra trophy, then it's an S. I agree. I think Champions League gets you into S, but you did your expectation this year in a bad season, but then that's good of you. So you get an A? You've done what you've done.

2:18:28You've done what's expected. So well done. Put it this way. You've finally done it. Put it this way. Everyone had Liverpool to win. Put it this way. Liverpool lost Bartlett. No, no, no. Who's Bartlett now? The benefit we have is we already put Palace in the tier where they presumably won it. So just put Arsenal and Leicester. No, but we presume they win it. We don't presume Arsenal to win. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying we will. No, they're playing Farmers. You're playing the rest of the year. Who thinks Arsenal wins the Champions League? I don't think so. You don't think PSG are Farmers?

2:18:55You're going to get battered. I think you're losing the Champions League. We're going to win 1-0, mate. How the fuck are you going to win? You can't score against anyone good. 1-0. We scored against PSU. So are you seeing that winning your first title for 22 years is not an elite season? The argument on this, Will, the argument on this one, can I just make a kind of argument? They've had seasons and seasons of spending hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of millions of pounds. And it's been what's expected for season after season after season. So you say, oh, they've won for the first time in so much time.

2:19:22Yeah, because they've been doing bad. And they could only do it in a year when it was dropped off. You've been spending billions of pounds. You've spent 240 million on Esi. 245. Mate, it's mental. And now they won the Premier, it goes up 20 mil bonus. Mate, do you know how Zeus is on like 250 grand a week? It's fucking embarrassing. It could be a B. Please, what are we doing? 85 points. It's obviously an S team. It's obviously an S. Like B, we're joking, but A is like you've done, yeah, you've done great. But now you have to, if Champions League is S. Yeah, I think for now it has to be A, top of A.

2:19:54That's not true. you've just said City have got two trophies in an off-season I didn't say off-season he said off-season oh well yeah but the counter argument why have you put him in A it's S it's A it's movable I'm just doing the debate no it's A it's top of A it's an S it's S if we've talked about I'm firm no he's not an S whoa whoa whoa get it down he's not an S I've had a better season than Villa yeah that is true not based on expectations wait so okay so by your logic could this season not get any better for you then yeah and we'll go even higher than Sunderland if you want a double No What You should be winning the double You fucking bottled it In the two cup competition By the way By the way It is a brilliant tier It is a brilliant tier Like that is where You've done really You've had a really great season You've got two Arsenal fans On the panel That thought Liverpool Were going to win the league At the start of the year Yeah I was going to say Shame on you No By the way You haven't exceeded Expectations this year Your expectation has asked No you haven't Your expectations You finished Your expectation was to win the league Your expectation is to win the league The hope is to win the league No, not at all.

2:20:55The club expectation would have been to win the league. You might be scared and not knowing if you're going to do it or not, but the expectation for Arsenal is to win the league every season. It's an S because we proved you wrong. And by the way, you've spent hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of millions of pounds for seasons and seasons and seasons. So have you and you've finished bottom half. Yeah, we're in D. Yeah, also we proved you wrong so we're in S. You have a prude as well. You're in A. Top here. In between Sunderland and Villa and if we win the Champions League it's not in the Sunderland.

2:21:17Why would you be a Villa? You absolutely pooed your pants in the Carabao Cup final. We're the Premier League champions. Yeah, but let me finish. It doesn't matter. We understand. Yeah, we understand Arsenal have won the league, mate. But like every other team, we have to talk about every other competition, which you failed massively in. Got to the final of the League Cup. And lost easily. They still got to the final. What did you do in the FA Cup? Don't worry about that. They lost to Southampton. Don't worry about that. The whole Grimsby argument you were doing for Man United earlier. So therefore, if you then lose...

2:21:47How did Villa do in the other competitions? They've won the Europa League And got Champions League You're a different level of team It's a far harder competition to win Than the fucking Europa League Oh my god You're a different tier of team We can't compare Arsenal to Villa Did we not put Liverpool in S last year For winning it Yeah but they don't have an agenda against it I thought we did didn't we No This is an agenda We're saying you're top of A You're top of A Guys If we put Liverpool in S No because things change Oh god If we put Liverpool in S Arsenal should go in S It's A All jokes aside If you win the Champions League Then it's S You just saw bias You've also had By the way You've had the most Fraudulent Easy run in the Champions League I've ever seen In my life Yes So by the way Getting to the final Is I'm actually I was joking But now I'm fucking serious Because Yeah You getting to the final Of the Champions League Is completely expected With the run you've had Genuinely That's not true Barcelona should have Genuinely Barcelona should have Played us in the semis But they didn't But that's what I'm saying So other teams You've got the easiest run No but you had the easiest run They've got two players sent off in both legs, they would have been playing there.

2:22:49They would have been... Man, you got knocked out by Southampton. Southampton. You got the easiest chance to think of a run ever. You're almost got on the preppy. The only reason we got an easy run, as you say, is because we finished the top of the fucking league. You fucking bet. No, it wasn't. Yes, it is. You finished the top of the league, you get a slightly easier run. You get home fixed. Man, this is the easiest run. That's the whole point to finish the top of the league. This is the easiest run any team has ever had to a final. I'm done with this. It's an S. It's an A. It's actually top of eight.

2:23:12Where did we put Liverpool, Will? I'm just checking. Right, Arsenal with top of eight, and there is our team. Thanks for tuning in, guys. We'll see you next week. Bye-bye. You had Liverpool in S. No. Smack him in S, then. No. Liverpool in S. Arsenal in S. Arsenal in S. Arsenal in S, T. See you, guys.
