In short
England crash out of the World Cup in the semi-final vs Argentina, with heavy debate over tactics after taking a 1-0 lead.
Guests/backgrounds
The episode is a panel of four England fans/hosts (named only as Lewis, Theo, Jamie, and Reeve in the transcript). They discuss from the perspective of supporters watching live and at home; no football credentials are claimed.
Key claims
England “shithoused” by sitting back for ~35 minutes after scoring, which the hosts call too scared/respectful of Messi and Argentina. They argue Spain’s approach vs France (pressing for a second) was better. They also say Tuchel’s substitutions/tactical changes were late and ultimately wrong, though Dan Byrne’s introduction is defended.
Notable examples
Elliot Anderson and DJ Ed Spence praised as England’s best; Kane criticized for being slow on counters; Saka’s limited impact (possibly injury). Argentina’s goal is debated (Pickford/shot quality), plus McAllister hitting the post and Enzo’s role. Messi is said to have been “nullified” despite two assists and Player of the Match.

Well. yeah hello guys we're the two guys who decided to show up for work today England have lost the World Cup semi-final and our heads are not on Mars I'm not going to lie like okay I just want to say something right quick number one I'm going to try and be like reasonable I'm not smashed I'm not on my face drunk or anything but like my head's so far gone right now not only by England fucking bottling it not only by Tuchel the fucking spy not only by Reeve not showing up to work you're doing what you said you're not doing so like My head is on Mars, but I'm going to try and stay calm.
32You're doing what you're not doing. I'm just putting it out there that I'm actually so fucking gone. What I will say, Lewis, is you and I just had a very reasonable conversation on the walk home last 20 minutes. And we both disagreed with each other, did we not? But we had quite a valid conversation. So let's have a repeat of that conversation. Should we skip to the... No, we shouldn't take it on from what happened. I think we should take it on from the moment that we took the lead and I went to you. we can't sit back like this because it's Argentina. Can I just say before you interject I was shouted out by you and Harry for saying no it's fine, it's fine.
08Look, I understand that we got by against Mexico with 10 men but we had no choice. Against Mexico we had to sit back because we had 10 men. Against Argentina, a team that has proven to fucking nail you in the arse and you have Nian Al Messi on the team. How about let's not sit back for 35 minutes when we've actually controlled it quite well before that. How about when we get that goal, let's get another like Spain did against fucking France. Let's not be fucking pussies, Tuchel, you spy. Yes. In essence, Lewis, I do agree with you. I actually do agree with you. To play devil's advocate, which I did on the walk home, I say to you this.
50I say, now, by the way, I actually agree with Lewis Bowden on this point, but I'm trying to see the other side of Tommy T, a.k.a. the spy. he shitted he shitted he shitted you may be right but in this scenario I'm trying to see the other point of view what we've done there is we've gone 1-0 up we've seen Pessy we've seen Argentina we've seen their comebacks and we've gone ah ah I'm absolutely terrified can I tell you right now can I tell you right now can I just say quickly really I think you're doing a disservice we've chatted ourselves I think no you love Elliot Anderson that game yes he's phenomenal I think you're doing a disservice to people like Elliot Anderson and others I don't think any of them were looking at they weren't scared of Messi for the 16 minutes before that game and as soon as we took the lead they aren't all of a sudden scared of Messi that's managerial instruction that is them being told to do a similar way that's us subbing on Dan Byrne and accepting okay this is how we play I don't Elliot Anderson went into that game thinking I have got this guy locked down and he locked him down yeah absolutely by the way Elliot Anderson was our best player today.
57Yes, he's not scared of him. But in the defence of Tuchel for the Dan Byrne substitution, we've seen when Dan Byrne has come on, and he's been fantastic. So who's to say he wasn't going to save us again? I'm not slating. Do you see what I mean? So the idea is there. The idea is on the Dan Byrne. On the other subs, maybe not. But the idea on the Dan Byrne sub, I understand. I have no problem with the Dan Byrne sub, in terms of what it tells you, and all the Argentinian players know, as soon as we sub on Dan Byrne, they all know what we're doing. we are sitting back and we're saying come on to us come on to us why not when we're 1-0 up when we can afford to concede we can go extra time why not still put it on them because Theo we're good enough absolutely we're good enough but in the defence of Dan Byrne and that substitution it happened three minutes before the game so there's already been seven minutes Argentina made four subs before he put on Dan Byrne we've been sitting back for 20 minutes to that point it's not even on Dan Byrne at that point I actually agree with the Dan Byrne sub because I'm like if this is how we're playing sub on Dan Byrne if we're going to do this.
56But my problem is, why? Why are we fucking being that scared? Because it's not on the... I don't think any of those players were scared. I don't think they were scared of Messi. I think that's a managerial instruction. I'll ask you a question. You know, so I said to you, I said to you before the pod, obviously, I said, it sounds hypocritical over the Spain result, but I said, any team that's won up against Messi and Argentina with, say, 10 minutes to go or 20 minutes to go, whatever, will ultimately they will be like nervous right they'll be shitting themselves why could we not do what Spain did against France who has ultimately the best attack in the World Cup I think do you know what this is what I was going to say to you in the lip but I want to save the pod so Tuchel clearly made some changes there was clearly as soon as we scored there was clearly instant change and it's like look if we want to be that team he's going to skate on by via just like fucking defensive whatever but like that tells me That tells me that Tuchel isn't confident enough in this team to see it out.
58That Spanish manager is so confident in this team and the way they play that he's like, we've scored against France, the scariest team in the tournament. We're going to go and score another. We're going to still play our same way because I believe in my team. Tuchel, changing it, tells me personally that he wasn't confident that this England team would hold on to it. Maybe we wouldn't have, Theo, but sitting back against Argentina for 35 minutes doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Yes, we sat back but we actually didn't change for about almost 20 minutes. It was the intent No, no, no. We sat back It was the intent It was the intent We sat back but we didn't change until Argentina made a change which was 20 minutes later.
36Yeah. So we actually didn't change until we responded to their We changed the tactics Tuchel responded to the tactics No, the tactics changed No, the tactics changed but we responded with the subs. No, yeah but that's There was a clear tactic as soon as we go up right we're gonna shithouse this but it's just like i just i just think we are frustrations i think a lot of the players i who look i might be talking my ass i don't know any of these players hello welcome to the show pitch size um but i think a lot of the players we sat there thinking why are we so scared of these why are we setting up we went one nil up against messi and we're now setting up shop up shop against them and look maybe it is a pressure of the occasion that we can never relate to the fans on the back because there was a lot more argentinos from just to touch on that point lou the the england end was genuinely like 60 argentina i know there's not meant to be an england and there is an england and there's an argentina and then everything's mixed in the england end which usually is the band and everything phenomenal they were everywhere genuinely the argentina i've never seen such a contingent of argentina fans in my life we were outnumbered throughout the whole build up but we didn't they didn't make the impact on the game until about the 75th minute but like and look but this is the thing like oh it was I always felt it as soon as we scored and I feel like everyone back home probably has felt it when they're watching it's like as soon as we score it just sort of changes a little bit and it's like it wasn't like any team was creating stuff either side but as soon as you invite a team like Argentina who are literally the champions and you invite them and say look we're going to sit back and defend Egypt would turn it up we're going to sit back and defend and let you yeah Argentina a team who've proven it against countless teams and we're saying you can come on to us and you have Lionel Messi that is the the shittest game plan I've ever seen in my life and we slayed Southgate sorry to but we slayed Southgate for a long time for being a fucking pussy and Tuchel has got us this way and we backed him throughout all the changes we thought they were great changes and as soon as they mattered honestly he's fucking bricketed today I thought do you Yaz is bricketed no I understand what you're saying but if you actually look at the changes that he made though, he didn't actually make any changes until Argentina responded with their subs.
50I'm trying to be as neutral as I can. I'm trying to be the karma one in this situation because I do feel the same as Lou here. But ultimately, he didn't make the changes until he responded to the Argentina changes. Do you know what I mean? This thing, right, because we never know. We don't know if it was a situation where Tuchel didn't want us to sit back like that. Yeah. And it was the players just naturally doing it on the occasion, which again which it might be by the way because the occasion is huge yeah it's easy for us to sit and sit here in a hotel room and be pissed off and like start like raving about the bottle in it but like it's a different story when you're on the pitch obviously but I just I don't see it I feel like it was such a drastic instant change that it has to have been led by the manager by the manager it has to have been and look in a different world we held on and we're hailing and we made it through absolutely and we And we did until the 85th minute.
42And ultimately, what's the one... Sorry to interrupt you there. The one thing that we... I checked Twitter and they're fuming at Tuchel. I completely understand it. But up until this moment, when it matters, everyone has been so full of praise of Tuchel. And especially with his substitutions. And maybe he got it... Not maybe, I think he did get it wrong today. He absolutely got it wrong. I think he did, yeah.
08what can you do in this situation he's got it wrong in the last minute so is it now we go okay Tuchel thanks now we've got to try again or do we thank him for another semi-final at the first attempt I don't no no no but I know that sounds shit I know that sounds shit yeah thank you for a semi-final I get that I get that I get that but what do you do do you keep him I don't think it's a case of him getting it wrong in the last minutes though this is a we were arguing about this in the last pod and we kept saying and the sort of story of the pod was it's about getting past the next game it doesn't matter the performance doesn't matter it's next game but I was looking towards France because I thought we'd beat Argentina but the point still stands what I was making which was it's all well and good I mean before France would beat Spain it's all well and good saying that in the short term of saying well we go through this one but the performances do matter because eventually you're going to come across a better team in the latest stages so that's why it's relevant and we have been caught up by that where we again we actually agreed kind of unanimously our best performance this tournament was the second half of Croatia this is right at the start it's only since then it's got worse lad we chatted about that we ultimately do play better against better sides who don't sit as deep and I think you saw but did we today?
22we didn't what I will say to that Lou is did Argentina play well? exactly no team created anything but we went 1-0 up first we went 1-0 up and we could have controlled it lad up until that goal it was I will say it was very neutral. Yeah. Hardly anyone created anything. We could have controlled it though. That's why my frustration is because they weren't creating anything when we weren't allowing them just to come on to us. And we were actually so-and-so and some sort of threat. And I imagine the idea from Tusha was, let's get them on the break. Let's get them on the break. I'm sorry, but Kane isn't great on the break, is he really?
53He's quite slow. We attempted a few times. There wasn't really any runners. And we just got berated for 35 minutes. And I think before the goal field, they hit the post, was it? they flashed across the goal a few times and I kept saying to you this isn't fucking sustainable and I guarantee everyone back home was saying what are we doing we're going to concede yeah absolutely do we know Saka didn't appear is it just because of the injury is it I don't know that's an interesting one we don't know that was an interesting one I thought Morgan Rodgers actually had an okay game you know he got the assist for Gordon I thought Eddie Anderson did great I thought he was I thought Eddie Anderson was our best player Lou Eddie Anderson's been great throughout the whole tournament.
33He's been amazing. Everyone knows I'm biased towards Eli Anderson, but I'm glad that he's shown his skill on this world stage. He deserves a big move. Can I say something crazy? It might sound crazy. It's going to sound crazy. I know it will sound crazy. I know Messi came away with two assists, right? And he got the superior player of the match. But I actually think we sort of nullified him a little bit. Yeah. I actually think Eli Anderson did a fantastic job. I thought DJ Ed Spence was genuinely brilliant. and I know we lost and all this and that but I thought Jed Spence and Elliot Anderson was probably our two best players would you agree?
10Yeah I do agree I know that's crazy because he came with two assists but DJ Ed was brilliant I think look even at Messi in this age the problem with Messi is right he's so good but you can't dedicate yourself to marking him all game because he's not moving so it's like you have to pick him up at the correct times which is the hardest thing Saga just wasn't much fit that's what it was so with Messi it's like you have to as a player Eli Anson as a player has to decide when Messi is now involved in the game and that's when I'm going to go mark it because I can't spend all day whilst you're walking halfway off the side like he's so elusive like that but that's why he's great on the Argentina point of view then if you're talking from an Argentina point of view obviously Enzo's goal do you think Pickford could have done better or do you think it was a great goal I think you have to close down that shot I'm caught in two minds because I don't like the slander Pickford gets actually especially recently over his shots yeah I can see the argument of Pickford maybe could have done better but ultimately I think it was a good goal I mean we've only seen the stadium inside the replay inside the stadium and it looks like he wasn't ever going to get there I feel like with a shot like that you need to have men in front of the ball like that's those are the kind of shots where you need three people blocking it you need people fucking in front of the ball and he had a lot of space there from my memory but again lads I know we've said things silly on this pod after the England games.
32We haven't seen the whole highlights yet, but I don't think he played Pickford. I thought Romero and Martin has had a good game again. I thought Pickford made some good saves before that. I thought he made some good saves as well. Before that, he was playing well. Yeah, absolutely. And obviously, was it McAllister hit the post in the end of the last minute as well? It was McAllister hit the post. I thought Jude obviously had one of his... But he's right. Both teams didn't play well. Yeah, absolutely. I thought Jude had one of his quieter games, but is that a compliment to Paredes and Enzo? I know Paredes came off but do you think that's a compliment to how well they played and how well actually Martinez and Romero played or not?
08I feel like the Jude praise comes because he manages to make a moment of magic in a But he plays well No, no, that's cheap on him He's not just a moment of magic He genuinely plays fantastic No, he plays great And he galvanises the team Absolutely galvanises the team What I mean is it's like the team for the most part actually doesn't create much in itself to allow Jude to do anything too crazy and it's been that case throughout the whole tournament where we're like we have got by by playing not that well like Theo moment of magic Theo are there many games that you can honestly look at in this tournament and I know it sounds crazy because we got to the semi-finals I'm not taking anything away from the players individually very hard to get to there but like except for the Croatia game genuinely and the Mexican game where we had to really galvanise but also there weren't there's not been any performances where I'm like wow No, but I think you are right.
01But also to throw back at you, could you say the same about Argentina? No. Do you know what? Do you think they played well today? I don't think they played well today. The problem with Argentina is... No, the problem is Argentina is the same as England. Unfortunately for us, they just had another moment more than us. They are killers. They're the Real Madrid of the Champions League. Absolutely. And they've got Lionel Messi who, by the way, we shut up shop today and still came away with two assists in the superior play of the match. Do you know what I mean? They have the best player in the world.
30Honestly, this guy might win a Ballon d 'Or. This guy in the World Cup, he actually might win a Ballon d 'Or. But my only frustration comes from, we were literally 1-0 up, man. We're so close. We're five minutes away from the final. I'd rather go out. My main thing is, and maybe people back home agree or disagree, but my main thing is, I'd rather have went out today fighting for that second goal and coming up short shop rather than being scared and being like we're going to set up shop like you're mexico because they're not mexico mate they're literally the champions in the world look the players didn't the team the team did look i'm not i'm not calling out any individuals i'll never know what it's like to play at that level but i'm saying i would have rather went out chasing a second rather than holding on to a first because i thought we were too scared to lose today yeah when we were one nil up when you're one nil up look you always have extra time you always have extra time we have the We have the advantage.
25If we get caught out on the counter, it's extra time. If they get caught out, we're 2-0 up and we're through. Yeah, absolutely. And you saw it in the Spain-France game. You saw it in the Spain-France game. Exactly that. It's an exact copy of that. Yeah, but when you go 1-0 up, you don't sit back. You need to get a second. That's what Spain did. Spain did not give France a look at it. No, absolutely. Did Spain give a France a look at it? I'm trying to be as fair as I can. Don't be fair. Give your honest opinion. We should have done what Spain did. absolutely not exactly but they back themselves but is it did we give Argentina and Messi too much respect in that case were we was Tuchel scared because of what Argentina have done in the past I think it's a case do you see what I'm saying because it's so easy to say we shouldn't we shouldn't sit back we shouldn't but imagine we'd gone for it and still they scored look why didn't we why didn't we sit back do you see what I mean there'd be more respect for the team going for it I'd rather I'd rather my team You see what I'm saying though?
24I'd rather my team go out fighting for a second. Yes, exactly. I will say, I will say, I will say, look, the atmosphere must have been really brutal there. Compared to Mexico, bro. In the stands, I couldn't, no, in the stands, I couldn't hear us even like... By the way, I couldn't even hear the national anthem. Yeah, I couldn't hear that. But like, again, look, unfortunately, and like, it's easy for me to say, but this is why I'm not in the England squad, but unfortunately, that's what you fucking ask for when you want to be in the World Cup squad. And you have to be, and there are, and I don't say any of these players aren't built for it, but but they were that's all it makes but I'm saying we have to show it man you have to chase for the fucking second goal can I say do you not you have to chase for the second goal I agree with everything I'm saying every game we've screwed by by one I agree with everything you're saying they did want it we went 1-0 up do you know what I mean we actually went 1-0 up and then it's not enough and then I know we set off but to say these players didn't want it But the way they played is almost disrespectful to the fans because they didn't go for the second goal.
28I'm trying to be positive. I'm trying. I'm trying. No, but there's no need to be positive because, look, we've had a great run. We've had a great summer. But Theo, I said to you, as soon as we started sitting back and you were like saying, no, shut up, shut up. But I was saying, you can't do this. It's one thing doing against Mexico, lad, but you can't sit back against Argentina. Against the number one team in the world. Yeah, against the current champions who have Messi because these are going to unlock you. And do you know what? the main thing that annoys me it wasn't like two world cups it wasn't like it wasn't like they just scored instantly they give us warning signs they were fucking trying there was loads of warning signs and we were still sticking to we're going to try grind this out it was we asked for it in another world we get lucky fair enough but like we were never going to win the world cup playing like that full stop let me ask you this then you know ultimately before I ask you the question can I ask you another question are you proud are you actually I know it's early are you proud?
22Yeah, I love all the players. No, but Jamie, I know you laugh, but are we will you be proud in a week? No, I'm proud of them. I love all the players. I love like there's players like J.J. Ed who I would have been like, what are you doing in the squad? I think he has massively proved his worth. I'm so happy for people like Anthony Gordon getting his goal today. I thought he was phenomenal this time. Jude proving his worth. Yeah, Jude short against certain people on this fucking show. Dan Byrne having his highlight. Everyone had their moment, I feel like, through the tournament. He's not finished.
57John Henson, Pickford. Do you know what I mean? But the thing is, though... By the way, that's not necessarily to do with them, that's to do with Gareth Southgate. And what a job... People forget, we are in this position, we are cheering on for these lot in another semi-final because of Gareth. It's not because of Tommy Tuka, it's because of Gareth Southgate. Up until Southgate came in, there was such a... there was such a disjoint between England and the England fans, you know. Half of us would barely watch them. We felt completely separate. I don't know if I'm speaking for myself. I felt completely separated for the England team.
33But Gareth Southgate created such a unity between the fans and the England team. And it's carried over into Tommy Toucan. Whether Tommy continues, I don't know. Whether we get Pep Guardiola in, you know, we can only dream, right. But there is definitely a unity between the fans and the England team. And you saw it after the game. You know, obviously everyone was completely disappointed as... No one's going to be more disappointed than the players. Every single England fan, barring Reeve who went home. Cut that out. I didn't see the game. Every single England fan was cheering on that England team to the last second until they went in the tunnel.
11Because they have given us one of the greatest summers we could ever imagine, right? They have created such joyous moments. And Jude Bellingham has created such joyous moments. You know, John Stones has been fantastic. All these players have been absolutely fantastic. I know we lost in the semifinals and we crashed out against Argentina. But I just want to say thank you to the England squad because you've given us such treasurous moments. And I know this is quite soon and whatnot, but Reeve is at the door now. It's good to knock that loud during a pod that you're late to, by the way. Just re-interrupt the audio.
44but um i want to say thank you because you you've given us memories for a lifetime and what i will say i actually feel sorry because like the thing is while steve's getting the door the thing is like football for a lot of people is like a distraction as well and like the tournament especially there's a lot of people back home i guarantee you're watching this and you're like that you have your personal shit going on in your life and you have whatever and this is like this is your distraction this is your like fuel on the side so it's like it's really sad for those who's like this is your fuel to distract yourself from normality for a while and uh unfortunately unfortunately that's came to an end now but luckily luckily we've had a nice run of it lads we've had a nice run of it we can look back at some of the cool highlights of the amazing moments what you're saying is a form of escapism from yeah for a lot of fans i apologize i'm late by the way i went to the wrong fucking gaffe i do apologize you didn't go to the wrong gaffe you chose to do the Grand Gaff.
42I didn't choose to do it. I don't have any control. Can I ask you boys? We'll touch on Spain-France in a second. Are we all supporting Spain or what? Yes, I want Spain to win. I'm not going to lie. There's an Argentinian fan behind me who's, like, after kick-off, after the end of the game, he's really trying to get a reaction from me and I refuse to give it, but he's trying to put the flag on my head. I refuse your reaction, but I want them to know right now I will laugh. I will laugh and dance when Spain beat you, you fuckers. But also Messi might walk left to your own. That's true. Not good for an out-of-fact.
17If we break down that whole tournament, Spain deserved to win. They've been the best side of the entire game. They've been boring. They've been very boring. I will say, every single person that I came into the lift with, supported Messi, didn't do anything for the entire game. Argentina were better than us. Messi didn't. Can you remember one moment Messi had? Argentina weren't better than us. he got two assists yeah he got two assists no but I'm saying like Messi wasn't Messi wasn't the golden boy of today Argentina beat us well he was he got two assists he got two assists you did get two assists alright well I'll just hold that then no we did we talked about this earlier we said he was at as weird as it sounds he was on a void but he walked away with two assists that's what I'm saying but ultimately won the game no no no Jamie I'm not trying to start an argument but like he wasn't the focal point of today and yet he got two assists that's how good the team is as a whole we weren't good enough both teams weren't good no no by the way fucking worst game I've been to the entire fucking tournament what no Panama that's not true at all you saw a nil-nil against fucking Ghana yeah it was Ghana sorry knockout round it's the only we've only been to two you've only been to two yes or no is that correct well yeah I guess that is correct after you adjusted your saying but Spain France I'd like to touch on because we watched it in what might be described as one of the coolest venues.
42We were actually at the game. We were actually at the game. It felt like we were at a place called Cosm in Atlanta, which is basically, guys, if you haven't been there or seen it on the internet, it was a 180-degree screen. No, more than that. It was like 270. So you get everything and behind you. I don't think it was a 270. Well, it might have been 270, but it was the biggest screen I've ever seen in my life, bigger than an IMAX, and it felt like we were at the game. I actually tried to shout to someone downstairs. Turns out they were in the stadium. So they obviously didn't report. Turns out.
20How much does that mess with your mind, by the way? If you look down at the people in the crowd, I actually thought they were in Cosm. And prior to the France-Spain game, I thought, who is going to lock up the French attack? Turns out Pedro Porro, Laporte, Gabarsi and Cucurella can just completely lock up the French attack. That Porro goal was very good, by the way. Phenomenal goal. Absolutely phenomenal goal. What was your dissection of the England game? Have you done it before I came? Have we done the England game dissection? No, I'm asking. I'm asking because I wasn't here for it, but I want to hear what you say.
57We've done it for the last half hour. All right, sorry. All right, fine. I just fucking shut up there. So we're on Spain-France. Give us your Spain-France performance review. I said at the start of the tournament, I didn't think Spain were good enough. And it turns out that if you win by one goal every game, you're going to win the tournament. Absolutely. It's actually so depressing. They're so efficient, right? There's literally... The problem is this tournament hasn't been enjoyable to watch from a Spain perspective. No, no, it actually has been a completely enjoyable watch from a Spain perspective.
28Well, if you're Spanish, yeah. But from a footballing perspective, if you're some sort of a fan that is against Spain they're so efficient it's actually just like it's quite depressing they kill you by a thousand passes even it's sort of in your mild's goal you know like what they did is what we should have done lads lads can I just be honest to people back home I was supposed to fly home on the 17th and I booked a hotel for four more days because I thought we were going to the final yeah me too I'm genuinely so fucking depressed right now so am I I've just I've genuinely I'll shoot you not yet I've literally just ran the last 20 minutes to get from their apartment to here how much of the game did you watch of the England game I was there for you the whole time how much did you watch I watched a lot of it a lot of it yeah glass what do you think of your mouth what mate I watched the whole game that's not true what I swear to god I reckon you I've been shot you three times We said Reeve stop texting Megan the England are playing Reeve I'm going to be there in 20 minutes lad Well I watched I watched all the goals that's all that matters That's also not true That's not You weren't here for the second half you didn't see everything else Yes I was No you weren't You didn't see the goals conceded What do you think of your mouth's goal on the 2-0 I know it was offside because I was at Cosm so I could see the fucking line Guys Guys, I actually, I just hope you all feel like this at home because I don't want to be the only one.
05I fucking hate my life. No, genuinely. No, no, no, this is fucking shit. I ran all the way here to grab a microphone and say I'm so depressed because I was expecting to come here and be like, oh, England are the best. We're going to be spending the final. It's all gone to pot, mate. Everything that I said against Gano and Panama has all come to fruition, mate. Oh, so you're switching again. No, you and the whole team, you're switching again. The only game that matters now, when we were performing like shit against Norway, and you're like, the only game that matters now, and we perform shit. It's almost like the performances matter when you get to the latest stages against teams that are half decent.
46Reeve, prior to this tournament, you sat on the fence of every debate, but this World Cup, I've seen you going dilly-dally, dilly-dally, dilly-dally. I was trying to comment far. I was saying at the early stages, we weren't good enough to beat teams that would fucking play over us, yeah? Argentina have done that. We weren't good enough today. Norges Norway and the other teams, you were saying that it only matters. It's a one game. It only matters this one. This one only matters. But I told you, once you get over the hill, mate, there's a big fucking scary monster there waiting for you. And that's called Pessy.
21And he's called Lionel Messi. But in a knock around, if you get through to the next round, that's all that matters. It's a bigger picture than that, though. It's a bigger picture because it's all right to go through the knockout rounds. You're agreeing with me. No, I don't agree because the performances matter in the knockout rounds as well because eventually you're going to come across a team like I thought it was going to be France, but turns out it's fucking even Argentina. You know what I mean? So I was right. I don't know where news. So I was right. Do you know what, boys? No. No, you're wrong.
50You're very, very wrong. How am I wrong? So who would have thought Argentina would just beat us in the last 5-10 minutes of the game? Who would have thought that? Do you know what I mean? It's embarrassing. Yeah, we've not seen it happen in the World Cup before. Do you know what I mean? The Irishman in the corner saying, I thought that, I thought that. Who would have thought it? Hey, look, lads. As an Englishman, it's such a surprise that Argentina have gone through again against all odds. Lewis said something to do with his serve. From me to thee, because I know you support us at every part of this journey.
17I am sorry that I'm late. But at the same time I'm also very disappointed In the performance That England gave So were me and Lou I agree with you I think it was shit Mate We didn't have All of our Why are you laughing In the background mate All of our star players Didn't turn up Theo and Lou Had to do the same thing By the way That is absolutely Not true as well DJ Sped was quality He's not our star player Is he He is now Elliot Anderson was quality Jed Spence isn't our star player He's my star player Bellingham and Kane Should have carried us Through to this game Elliot Anderson's my star player question question as it's England are now knocked out question for you who wins the World Cup who wins the World Cup who wins the World Cup you've got everything going for you I won't say who's our player of the tournament because it's obviously Jude but who is who's our who's our surprise player of the tournament absolutely DJ Ed absolutely he's not a surprise I think it's an acceptable answer because he goes because he's in the midfield he's carried the entire midfield with other people that are 100 million pound points Jude has no but I will Sorry, as a guy that said Jude was going to be a player of the tournament.
23Which I'm right, by the way. Yes, correct. You thought he was a surprise for the tournament. You didn't say that. He said that. You said Elliot Anderson. I said, no, Jude's carried out midfield. No, no, no. Can I just say, the reason I agree with Elliot Anderson is because he's in midfield three of Bellingham and Declan Rice. Bellingham, Declan Rice and Anderson. He should never be in the conversation. No, no, no, by the way. He should be in the conversation. but for people who don't who follow the names a little bit they wouldn't put I've been seeing Elliot Anson for years I want you to all remember yeah you are right I've been putting them teaming the year for years can I ask your question though who are you more surprised by Elliot Anson or DJ Ed Spence Jed obviously that's the question he asked originally yeah but I think DJ Ed is the answer but Elliot Anson is a fair second place fair for second place but Jed Spence has been brought on and off when he's needed Elliot Anson's played Pricklish every minute of every game.

18That's also not true he started today. I think they're both fair answers. They're both fair answers. They're both fair answers. I'm not disagreeing with him but I'm saying DJ Ed Spence has been on and off through the entire tournament. Elliot Anderson has played every minute of every game pretty much. I think Jed Spence is good for England because he's surrounded by good players but when he plays for Spurs he's a bit rubbish. I agree with that. I think that's very true because when he's when he's around good players he elevates his game that's also just not that's not true that's so disrespectful for DJ Ed by the way he hasn't just been good because of players around him he's put in phenomenal individual performances yes but he's playing better and actually at the start of this season at the start of this season we were talking about how good he was at versatile left back and right back yes but there's some games where he's played Theo there's some games where he's played 20 minutes and he's been brilliant for those 20 minutes Elliot Anderson has been basically playing 9 minutes every game like he's been I'm not surprised about Elliot Anderson's okay well let's we'll agree to disagree then because like we're on the same side Jez Spence and Elliot Anderson I believed Lewis four years ago how good Elliot Anderson by the way I just want to say I told you about Elliot Anderson he's a Geordie Maradona Elliot I fucking love you like tell you who it is it's Dan fucking Byrne everyone doubted him all year why is he in the squad I'll tell you why because he's a fucking king we love Dan Byrne right I'm obviously late to the party but there's no one like really depressed with what's happened anyways guys thanks for watching no masking obviously what do you mean like read the room bro yeah well I hate my life the lights are off I hate my life I hate my life guys I'm surprised if you made it this far I just want you to know if you're back at home and you're dreading work tomorrow because you have to go back to the the same routine and I-5 and the summer of fun I will say just remember we lived some great moments together and embraced them with your friends I will say and it will come back I will say as a group perspective We actually love you so much Because without you We wouldn't be here Genuinely Why is that a weird thing to say?
25Why are you just trying to point me out For being fucking honest? No it's just funny It's funny because you get all emotional Yeah because it's true Without you guys following us And watching what we do We wouldn't be here And we wouldn't have enjoyed The entire journey To be the semi-final Against Messi Watching him live By the way After watching Messi live He ain't all that lads I agree by the way he's shit he's fucking shit England are shit I think Ronaldo's better put it there yeah come on anyone else is like really dejected I want to fucking cry I'm going to end the pod now I actually did cry at the end of the game I cried at the end of the game thinking like we should have gone further because your phone ran out of battery anyways guys make sure you drop a line well you guys know that's not true no how am I going to reply I've never seen Reeve watch a game.
18I've never seen Reeve watch a game. Why are you doing this? Anyways, guys, make sure you drop a like and subscribe and rate us five stars. And we'll see you at the weekend for a World Cup final review. Bye-bye.
