In short
Premier League season opener reactions and early-season form; debate over whether Arsenal can win the league, whether Liverpool’s expensive striker Viktor Gyökeres (referred to as “Jokeres”) will flop, and whether Newcastle will be able to keep/land players amid transfer-window drama; discussion of Manchester United vs Arsenal, Man City vs Wolves, Spurs’ tactics, and relegation battles (Leeds/Sunderland/West Ham/Everton).
Guests (panelists)
Oli and Tobes join Reeve, Thea Baker, and Tom Garrett. They support different clubs (Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool, Man City, etc.) and argue based on match performances and transfer rumors.
Key claims
- Arsenal: performance was poor but result was good; main concern is striker/goal output; Calafiori and White’s defending looked strong; Saka left/Madueke right could fix issues.
- Liverpool: Gyökeres may not fit as a link-up player; judge him by goals; Liverpool still need a centre-back more than a striker.
- Man United: looked better than expected; new signings (e.g., Kunia, Mbwemo) and a “mop-up” midfielder could help; Mason Mount could play a lot.
- Man City: new signings impressed vs Wolves; Wolves were better until City’s quick goals.
- Relegation: Leeds and Sunderland should stay up; West Ham look in trouble; Everton’s striker Beto was criticized heavily.
Notable examples
- Enzo Fernandez “worst player” vs Palace; Eze “farewell” at the away end.
- United vs Arsenal: Rasmus Højlund praised; Declan Rice criticized; set-piece importance discussed.
- City vs Wolves: Ait-Nouri and Rinders praised; Oscar Bob highlighted.
- Leeds vs Everton: Tanaka praised; Beto mocked as a “trampoline” who couldn’t control the ball.
- Transfer-window: Johan Visser Instagram/unfollowing Brentford used as a “red flag” example for Newcastle.

And if you want more Pitchside, catch us on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram where you can find us by typing in Pitchside. Let's get into it. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Pitchside. The Premier League is here, Gary. Give it up. First game week of the season. We are joined with Oli and Tobes. Hello. I suppose I could ask you the same question how was your perspective of the game on Sunday? pretty good pretty good dull dull it was very dull world champs we should have won yeah you need to rip that sticker no you need to rip that sticker off your fucking shirt that sticker's embroidered by the way is that being kept on for four years?
0:54yeah you've got four more years that is fucking disgraceful for four years you get to visit the world champions you should be you know you should be great would they have a ceremony? the game? No, not really. It was just the unveiling of that little thing at the top. That was about it. Cringe. Yeah. No, it was a boring game, to be honest. Yeah, it was boring. We defended pretty well, I thought. You defended well. We defended well. Enzo Fernandez. He was the worst player. Get him gone. Could be an Eze farewell though, wasn't it? It definitely was an Eze farewell. What was the thing with Gahey as well?
1:24Apparently, he had to go and do a drugs test after the game, a routine drug test, and he was annoyed about that, and he would want to go down the to get it done and Glasner tried to shout out I really think that was overblown it was overblown I didn't get why I almost thought maybe Glasner asked him a question and he shook his head as if was it a foul do you know what I mean was that a foul mark or something and he just shook his head he definitely wasn't disrespected no no obviously every Liverpool fan on the planet went well he's coming us that's quite clear he's leaving the palace now boys no the Eze Eze came over to the away end at the end and that was like definitely a farewell.
2:01Like, 100%. Or it was intended to be anyway. Other than, like, the disallowed goal, there's not really much to speak about from that game. No. So we can speak about a different game, which we did stream. Manchester United versus Arsenal. Thoughts? Well, thoughts on the two Arsenal fans on the panel. Ah. Oh, no, you actually don't think you're going to win the league, do you? No, he does. I've seen his content, and he does. You still think they're going to win the league after that? You can't change it after one game. I do agree with that. You can with that striker up. Well. I've seen a Lukaku That was Rasmus Hoeland At the other end of the pitch He was Don't disrespect Rasmus Hoeland Like that mate Jock Lesnar Oh yeah you range Jock Lesnar Jock Lesnar was super To the ball out for throw-ins He was absolutely Or he just looks like A shocking footballer You know when there's certain players You're like I can tell Yeah That was enough I think I think you've been a bit off I'm not I agree I think you've been a bit off The service he got was like Mate it was The thing for me was That game was like About transitions That's what he's supposed To be good at He was alright at it though.
3:00He bloody did it like four times. No, no, no. But I told you all this that he's clunky and he's not neat. He is clunky, yeah. But he can finish and he's powerful and he'll be a nuisance. And he will score goals because he can finish but he didn't get the service. He did. I agree. He scored a bit of goals at Atalanta. It depends what you want. It depends what you want to see from Jokeres. You're not going to get Havertz's link-up play from Jokeres. You're never going to get that. You're not going to get his flick on. You're not going to get the neat play but what you will get is what Havers can't give you which is the deadly finishing and he's a bully as well he was a bully there was a few times he knocked the licks over he was arguing with the ball the whole game I'm not having this but that's him yeah I know that's what I'm saying but you can tell immediately it's like this is that's not Jokeres' game you want Jokeres in and around the box just then give him the ball then judge him judge Jokeres off his goals he's not there to link up and be this neat player but it was like when he was getting towards the box and he's standing on the ball Yeah, yeah, yeah.
3:57That was funny. Even his ball striking there, just overdoing it. I was like, this is not why I expected. I expected someone who's a bit more cold with the ball, but not like, obviously, I don't expect... Nah, but see, I didn't... As soon as he gets the full match fitness, you never know. Yeah. It is a confidence game, too. I saw Gary Neville that bigged him up afterwards and was like, it's Old Trafford in your first Premier League game. Yeah, I agree. It's tough. Yeah, but that annoys me because this isn't Old Trafford from 15 years ago. Oh, here we go. It's not my... They played 15th in the league last season and he's a striker in his prime at 27th.
4:28Ekansi is like a kid and he looks way better. Yeah. Like comfortably so. I'm not having anyone being generous. This is the signing. I do. I actually agreed with Carrick yesterday. I would not be surprised at all if in the big games he gives me the habit. Oh, no, neither. I said that when they signed him. What's the point of spending that much money on a striker then? That's true. Yeah. That's such a stupid signing. You might as well have just broke the bank and actually gone for Isaac. I just think yet again we're going to get to the end of the season and say the same things about Arsenal I just couldn't get over the line because they just needed that one extra play they just didn't quite have that it's always there's always like oh we just didn't quite have this I'm just bored of it and you're shit are you not impressed by the end result a little bit yeah the result the fact that we played that shit and we came away with three points but I don't think you I didn't think you were that shit I thought that shit no they weren't no they were bad we were really bad Declan Royce was terrible.
5:24That's the worst I've seen him play for Arsenal, that. Saka was great either. No, he was. We didn't have a single control of the midfield. It's games like that where being good at set pieces is so valuable. I know people clown them for that, but if you're good at set pieces, you can score in any game. Was it a good set piece? No, it wasn't. It's still just the stress of Arsenal's set pieces, probably. United would wrestle them all. We got a set piece aura. That's the problem. Man United let in direct corners like three times a season. It's embarrassing. I remember the game at the Emirates last year.
6:00Man United trying to deal with Arsenal corners at the Emirates last year was like a comedy show. It was terrible. And they obviously haven't worked on it since then. And why is Mount in front of Saliba? Yeah, it just makes sense. Yeah, I know. It's just little things like that. You're just like, what are they actually working on? They don't have a set-piece coach as good as ours. That's the issue. Don't ever say that again. That guy. What's his name again? There's a camera on him. I haven't missed him. Nick. Oh, Jova. Conversely, obviously, new signings, Mbwemo Kunia. Kunia looked good. Kunia looked good.
6:32Mbwemo, obviously, a few chances fell to him, but if they play direct football, he's obviously going to be very influential. Mate, Kunia is everything you want in a footballer. Just catch the ball, runs, beats your power. You're only saying this because he's now left Wolves and you can support him. I know, that is not fair. I've always said how good he is. I just now can really love him properly. Also United need a player That is willing to just Grab them by the scruff of the neck And drag them through He is that guy And he only did in the second half It was like You know he took it He was like The Zidane fucking touch Yeah Ran away from Declan Rice And then I can't remember What happened after that Yeah he is Oh no he played And then played the ball out And Diallo like ran in front Of him Yeah kicked and Kicked the ball off him But they showed good signs I thought United looked better You're miles away from you I'm not sorry There you go Yeah I thought United Looked a lot better Than they did I thought United looked good actually Do you think Sesko's the missing piece?
7:24I don't know. With creativity like that of Embuemo and Kunja behind him. I don't know if him being central is going to take away from... I quite liked Embuemo and Kunja kind of being like a two at that point. They were floating though. I mean, they're good enough to just do what they want really. But then what's that going to do with Bruno? That Bruno's going to be a holding midfielder? That's pretty much in the eight now, isn't it? That's why I said I think he'll really shine this year. Bruno has been a bit of an issue because I don't know how he's going to fit in. If these new signings are going to work, I think...
7:51Unless he just turns himself into a holding midfielder. I thought it made so much sense. They took that Saudi money and ran. Yeah, but United did accept it, didn't they? It was him who didn't want to go. I think maybe that's where Mason Mount will play a lot for United this year because he's just like the ultimate utility guy. Really think that? Yeah, I do think he'll play a lot. He played well, but he'll get injured. But he's just... Amarim loves him, doesn't he? But every manager who's ever managed Mason Mount absolutely loves him. Yeah, that is true. I just feel like if you've got players like Kinyan, Ubram and Bruno who can win you games but need a little bit of freedom to do it, you need someone who's going to just mop everything else.
8:21up attacking Kuna kind of has the ability to follow the mentality of someone that can go to Manchester you know I remember when we always say like people that go to Manchester United always feel like they can fix them yeah he definitely thinks he can he does he genuinely does take the scruff of the no but he thinks he can and he also has the ability to do it as well like is it going to get 15 games into the season he's going to be like fucking hell this is a mess I can't be bothered anymore he's getting fairly hot headed for other games even like the Euros and Dogus I thought looked alright yeah I thought Dogus they're a midfield away from doing anything serious.
8:53I genuinely think if United go and get obviously a goalkeeper and maybe a believer or an Adam Warton maybe. No way Warton goes. If they get that United will 100 % finish top six. 100%. I think a midfielder would be massive for them. They just need more legs than Casemiro basically. Is Kobe mainly becoming like you know when a hand in Toy Story drops Woody. Yeah 100%. Amarim just doesn't. Amarim's not having I don't understand why He's got a mount ahead of him He'll go somewhere And be unreal as well Everyone will be like Why have you not sold him It will 100 % happen I think people are forgetting How like He come into that England He was like literally Our best player in that year It was like He was Kobe May knew he's unreal The composure of 100 years old Apparently Like I said to you the other day Was I think it was Alex Cook Was saying it on TalkSport That The word is Amorim doesn't think He's mobile enough But then he starts Casemiro He literally can't run I actually thought he was right No he was better Yeah he was better Yeah he was better But Isn't that one of Cobby's greatest strengths No he's not that mobile No it's to be fair He's more technical And like neat Rice did a lot You mean mobile As in defensively mobile Right okay Manu's like good in tight spaces Yeah yeah yeah But Just going back to the overall I do think I'm in the middle With Arsenal With that performance Half of me thinks That is a great result Playing that way Yeah My other half thinks That's a worrying sign That the levels that low so early and I just thought it was a good win if I was being an Arsenal fan I'd be more concerned with a striker than anything else I think getting over the line like that when you played badly nothing wrong with that I want to throw something out there just a little ironically I thought Havertz was actually alright no but he was saying just before you like jump in Havertz looked okay Havertz looked alright and obviously the striker issue is I actually thought you looked your best when Saka was on the left and Madwecky was on the right I reckon that could happened quite a lot this season.
10:50If you think about it, how did Saka come through as like a left wing back? Saka can easily do that. That could fix the Martinelli issue who fucking reeks, by the way. How he's on 200 grand a week. Goodness me. Saka on the left, Madweki on the right. Put it out into the universe, man. Everyone watches the show. So Arteta, if you're watching, give it a go. They're going, oh my God, that's it. They've solved the problem. but a massive massive positive I will say is the back four and I'd say your two starting full backs didn't even start that's a really good sign that you can start Calafiore and White and the level not drop in terms of defending and Raya was unbelievable again a lot of Arsenal fans are tipping Calafiore as like the guy this year they just fancy him yeah don't we all yeah our whole chat literally when we were streaming some of the comments were like we're just like having normal conversations like Calafiore's so fit he's like what yeah yeah yeah Cal's for a lot mate that's five points a season nothing to do with how he's playing performance it's just not fit some of them are like this guy could be like a model or something he's a new left back he is in the space of our third kit reveal so I mean also can we stop with kit not kit reveals team reveals on Twitter and the picture is the team and a player with a shirt on with jeans.
12:18Yeah, that was criminal. That was an Odegaard in that movie lineup. That was awful, mate. Why are you wearing jeans with the shirt? They come out all just wearing jeans for the game. Yeah, look, three matches with a jacket and jeans. It's not what I used to wear at my year six disco. Yeah, the 90s. But yeah, look, I'm happy. You've got to be happy. I'm happy with the points. I'm not happy with the performance. Yeah, 100%. Go on. I don't think that we're going to score as many goals as we have in previous seasons. Right. And that worries me a little bit. Okay. Especially if we're trying to monopolise the goals from Jokeres.
12:52Yeah. Like feed him, give the goals. If he doesn't get to a game, we're in big trouble. I feel like. Yeah. Would you say, do you think he starts this weekend against Leeds? 100%. I think he has to. Yeah. Those are games where... Three games have a... Champions League have a... But that could be a smart play. Maybe. And spark him into some confidence. If he wins you the fucking league. I've seen a graphic yesterday. have they on Monday Night Football, your record against, I'm sure it was Arsenal, their record against the big six since like the last three years. They haven't lost. They haven't lost in like over three years to any of the big six teams.
13:24That is, I know people are like, oh, well, what a trophy. That is actually so impressive. That's exactly what Arsenal didn't use. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They were the complete opposite of that for so long. But I just don't trust you to get over the line. And the way City... But you didn't before he signed either. No, I know. But no, I'll tell you what, if you'd have gone and gotten Isaac, maybe. Get a left winger. Get a left winger. Even if he played like... Please get a left-wing guy. If Eke Tike played on Friday, I'd think, ooh, they've got one. Yeah. Like, he looked like a player to me. I don't know.
13:51There was just something... He just looked very Timberland every week. You see that, like... I mean, you can... Well, speaking of Eke Tike, first goal of the Premier League season. I called it. Yeah. What, you said he was going to score first? Yeah, I backed it as well. And I said it would be 4-2 on the Prediction Show. You did, actually. Yeah, Liverpool. That's for you, so I don't know anything. I fucking do, right? Bournemouth looked okay. Although I did say Bournemouth would... No, sorry. On the prediction show, I said Bournemouth would take the lead. Ah. But it doesn't matter. I was still fucking...
14:19That's a really good prediction. 4-2 is an unbelievable prediction. Liverpool's defence is going to let them down this year. Yeah, but they're going to be so fun. They're so... Oh, it'll be great to watch. That'll be amazing to watch. I watch every game. It's like Roy Keane said. They score two goals a game minimum. That's really difficult to beat. I think them and City are going to be... Actually, I don't know. If Johnny Stones can stay fit, maybe City will be rock solid. But yeah, I do agree with you. I was speaking to someone the other day and they were like yeah but Graven Birch weren't there and I was like Graven Birch isn't going to fix all those issues from Friday on the break they were one player's not going to fix that that second Semenyo goal obviously took it really well but the defending from Van Dijk Kanaka yeah I know they're new but the full backs were like pretty rash Kirkus was rugby yeah when we played them in the Community Shield we got at them so easily so easily that was the sign where I thought oh god I'll let them off because it's Community Shield but you should well you should have beat them in a normal time I think yeah we should have died the second half we were the better team but Friday night I just thought but that one Semenyo goal what I loved about that he should have passed it and he just didn't the only way you don't get grilled for that is doing exactly what he did because he should have passed that ball to the two players on the side but yeah he's fucking unbelievable Semenyo do you reckon it's a big season for him individually yeah I mean someone's got to pull that Bournemouth team through right or Arsenal I was going to say I think this is you know at the end of the season we'll get we've had Rob Holding you've had all the excuses the next time we'll go if we'd got Semenyo instead of Madweke we would have yeah yeah they're still talking to the transfer now go and nick him and he plays anywhere in the front I don't think Semenyo would be a difference maker for Arsenal whoa that is why I just don't think he's I don't think he's tidy enough and like if a team's got like 11 men behind the ball I don't think he's a he's the kind of player to go and like unlock a defence but Saka sort of does that and he'd be on the other side Yeah, but I don't think he's not on that level.
16:13I watched, so we played them in the FA Cup last year and I went and we've had this conversation before. When you see players live, I couldn't believe how good he was live. I was saying the same thing. I couldn't believe how big he was, how fast he was. They always are. And the way he strikes the ball. I'm pretty sure he'd come on and it was 1-1 or 2-2 and he'd come on straight line and just knock one top corner and it was like, bear in mind, okay, he's playing against like championship, but they're still fucking good pros. And he's coming on Just taking the piss out And I'm like Oh this boy's a bit like He's definitely Arsenal level laughing To be fair When I saw him at Sellers Last year it was the same But then we did draw Nil-Nil with him And he didn't do anything But I was like Oh you're a lot tighter Than I thought you were But nothing happens Like an absolute rocket Against us I just think Bournemouth Don't tend to sign Bad players do they That left back Looks good as well They're kind of like An underplayed Brighton Like the amount of money They've been rented Especially this summer Like the whole Backline Real Madrid PSG Liverpool They've got a really strong manager Yeah I'll regret putting them 16th I think they'll be a lot higher That way you put them Yeah Surely not So they have no defence They lost all that And obviously Super Kepa left as well So Yeah Petrific is alright Yeah Has anyone crazy money Uhtara Not that much I mean He's alright He's not 42 million No no He's not going to solve Brentford's problems Some of the prices Last week for some of the players That was going round I was like I feel like I'm losing my mind here.
17:40Jacob Ramsey going for 40. Amari Hodgson for 37 and a half million. Oh, no. I'm going to have Forrest fans crying at me for that. Forrest fans right now, they're rattled by us. Yeah.
17:52What I will say is, sorry, I know we're going off piste a bit. McAtee's a great signing for Forrest. I'll give you that one. Well done, lads. Amari Hodgson for 37 and a half million. Criminal. That is daylight robbery. he's like he's like a top 6 championship player I'm not joking like he's tidy he's got a bit of like a bit of pace about him he's fucking average he's not going to change he's not a replacement for a Langer if they think he is they're mental they have just because they signed that Ndoy guy he looks alright good header yeah he's good but they signed that header yeah that's a great header they signed him Hutchinson and McAtee who can all play off the right for like a combined like 80 odd million and they've just signed him the striker yeah yeah again they're all good signings in isolation I haven't seen them That's just Botafogo, John Texton.
18:40But signing that striker from, is it Wren? Yeah. Why? Who? I don't know his name. He was at PSG. He's meant to be really good. Also, they've got Igor, they've got the... Jesus. Igor Jesus. And Chris Wood. He's better than Chris Wood. You'd assume that this guy would come in and start ahead of... It's Europa League depth, isn't it, really? Is it bloated squad? Sorry to... It could be bloated squad. Also, are they going to drop Wood? Why would they drop Wood at the minute? you know what happened I think everyone's expecting Wood at some point mate you can't keep doing this he took his goal really well actually he is I couldn't believe when he scored he's seriously still doing it by the way he's actually inevitable but yeah they've spent 140 million quid this summer I know that they've just sold Lanker for 55 I guarantee you they'll be crying about PSR very very soon when they've just spent that much money on four right wingers speaking of I'm sick of them speaking of do you think Izak is the solution to Liverpool winning anyway or do they not need him regardless?
19:39I don't think they need him. No, they don't need him. The little FIFA career mode kid in me goes, go on, get him. It would be. Just fully the league. It would be crazy. They need to sign a centre-back more than they need to sign Isaac, I think. Agree, but they might. It might be one of yours. I mean, there would be worse signings than Gahey for them. I don't mind us selling him if we need a bit of cash. Or find it as superverts because I didn't see him. I don't know about anyone else. I don't know, no. That's a bit harsh. It is a bit harsh. But I'd say in the two games, the Palace and that game, I'm like, I'm not seeing it.
20:09I was like, he was good against Palace. No, he kept things ticking. No, Toby. You're talking shit. I want these guys held to the standard that those players... Virch was very good against Palace. £160 million player. £150. He's been dropped to a final in Wembley and then it's the first game in the Premier League and people are still going, oh, he's pretty good. He's got one... OK, he wasn't great against Bournemouth. I just thought we'd see more. Liverpool did still win 4-2 Bournemouth with all their defence out I just thought you'd see a bit more from a£150 million player £150? Where's that confidence?
20:40It's going up every time From£170 million I'm sorry This is how it works A billion? Yeah, exactly No, I think you're being a bit I am being harsh You're being very harsh I'm just saying It's always easy to create a player worth 120 mil though if they don't I've heard best 10 in the world is coming to the league I just thought you'd see a bit more against Bournemouth without Liverpool It's one game, relax We'll see Liverpool still scored four goals Exactly They did I think people are confusing What Virts will be this season Maybe He's not going to be that final ball guy He's not going to be He's going to be like the linchpin He's going to be like a Xavi Like Dewsbury Hall Dewsbury Hall was good last time He was that kind of 10 He's kind of German Dewsbury Hall But I mean No he's not I don't understand where you're going And also Slott's never really ran at Actual number 10 right in the Liverpool system.
21:33Yeah, and also, he was coming very deep against Bournemouth. Oh, he was. He's not going to be, basically, they're going to leave that to Ekotiko, Salah, to Gapmo, to do the business. And he's going to be the one keeping it ticking and dictating, basically. 100%. Which I think, and then, look, he's very good, but like you say, moving on to City Wolves, there were some very good debuts there. Have we jumped the gun a little bit early with putting City in like third and fourth? Yes. Yeah, I think it's because everyone wants the Guardiola era to be over? Like, we all kind of think, they look really good.
22:07The Wolves did actually get a lot in the first half. The new signings they've made. Can we just, so first of all, the only reason I put City, I think, third or fourth was because I just didn't know enough about the new signings and how they'd be. And also, you can't trust John Stones to stay fit. You don't know how Edison or who's going to be in goal, whatever. City weren't amazing the weekend. No, I'm saying the new signings were. Wolves were the better side until they had the goal disallowed and then City got two quick goals and it killed Wolves. Yeah, it did. And then there's just a class difference, isn't there?
22:37Once City are 2-0 up away from home, Wolves really haven't got much to... Agpadu gave one of the goals away. And you just can't do that against the teams of this quality. But Aitnuri was brilliant. Rinders looks a fucking player. He was insane. He was unreal. The footwork for that. Was it for the first goal or second goal? First one. Yeah, that was mad. Where the Dinko... And the third goal. Yeah. Also, Oscar Bob. Mate, I forgot Oscar Bob existed. He's invested. Oscar Bob. He is class, mate. I love him. I can't believe people are saying Pep was going to loan him out. And I was like, no, he fucking isn't.
23:06He'll be like, Pep loves him. Well, Savinia could be off as well, right? So, I mean, that's another position that's... Where does Foden figure in this? I was thinking that. I don't even think he plays, mate. Also, I can't believe Marmouche didn't start. I couldn't believe that. You look at their bench, it's like, oh my God. That's another thing. You just look at their depth. And Rodri still got to come back. Yeah. He wasn't even on them. They still have Rodri to come back. It is quite scary, actually. And what I loved about Ryan Diz is, he's obviously technically both feet and just brain. He's fucking powerful, isn't he?
23:36Like, he's running power. He does remind me a bit of De Bruyne. I got more Gundogan. I thought he was more Gundogan. He's more mobile than Gundogan. Yeah, quicker. But just in terms of where he was popping up. Yes. Have you seen Haaland's record in August, by the way? It's like the most goals. He's like the fastest star of any. It's pretty much the opposite of Harry Kane. It was like the record for most goals in the Premier League in August. Yeah, he's got 21 in 12 games. The record is like 24. It's like Andy Cole. Last season he got Hattrick off the back-to-back rip, right? Yeah. It's mental.
24:08It's almost like you should have captained him, like I told you. I don't even have him, mate. I don't even have him. He's punishing me again, and then he's going to go to Spurs after everything we've said about how good Thomas Frank is. That will be a good game. That will be a good game, yeah. That will be more of a... Like you said, Wolves, it's... It's a bit weird as well because, like, that Arias that Wolves have signed is actually a kind of right player. Yeah. So you were playing a weakened... Wolves look weak. Yeah, they need depth for us, too. So I kind of want to see City again to get a better team.
24:32Yes, that'd be a good gauge of both teams, actually. And also, like I said, that first half hour, Wolves were the better team. They were giving City problems. And like you say, I think before we jump the gun and go, I was too quick putting City down, yeah, I want to see them against someone with pedigree. Spurs look tough. Spurs look tough. And what I loved about Spurs is going from the five at the back against PSG, where they were the better team, I thought, for most of the game anyway, to switching it to... He's going to switch it. You mean a manager that has versatile tactics, mate? What the fuck?
25:05Hallelujah! That's crazy. But I think he's... So it'll be interesting to see what he does against City, though, whether he thinks, I know I will play four at the back, or if he does switch to five at the back, which also makes Spurs a bit less predictable. Also, them having kudos is just like, one of the best outlets going. Yeah, yeah. Thomas Frank re-signed Mwemo, pretty much. Yeah, yeah. And then just implicating Kuduska. I think if they get Eze as well, which sounds like he will. But you have to remember how good Frank's record is against Pep for Brentford. Is he? Yeah, he beat them a few times.
25:35I always remember he went unbeaten against them two years. Oh, yeah, I remember when Tony did. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So really, like... And Spurs have got a really good record against City. Spurs City has been so one-sided. Spurs won 4-0 there last season, didn't they? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, Burnham put that one across, didn't they? That was the different Paul Walker. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now he's just blasting them from Burnley. But just quickly speaking on Spurs, I did go and watch the Extended Isles. Burnley weren't bad. Again, they mischarted the one. Burnley did all right, man. They just got no firepower.
26:05That was like a hard pen, wasn't it? No, that weren't a pen. You know what I mean? I didn't see it. No, no, no. I know what you're getting at. They were... I smashed the day, did it. Yeah, they... I just regurgitate. They had a go, but... I mean, Richarlison. Mate He could be back He's keeping Solanke you He scored that goal Yeah He's I am I'm done with Solanke After that fucking Super Cup When he come on It was like watching my dad But he's not fit is he He's had no procedure minutes I don't care if Charleston's the answer He's the man for them I think But that's a good two-to-to They're going to get Eze to replace Madison They might win the league That's a good two-to-to Oh Oh they're definitely finished above Chelsea Okay Do you want to get Eze and Savinho?
26:49Yeah, I think they will. I read that City don't want to sell Savinho, do they? Oh, really? You could have said that five minutes ago. No, no. I think they will get both. Well, there you go. Yeah, fair enough. They'll definitely get Eze, I think. I mean, it's ridiculously early to call, but signing of the summer, who might it be? Bournemouth, that's right. Truffaut. You reckon? He's unreal. I think Ryan. You're going to go Ryan is. Ryan just looks pretty. Eke Tike's a good shirt. Eke Tike. I love that. Hegebo. Jokeres? Jokeres. No. I think it could be Christian Newgard. Definitely. Ziba Menny might come through as well, so you never know.
27:30I'm waiting on Esteval to start. He looked good, actually. He looked good when he came on. He could be a tidy little... How was Gittins, in your opinion, like there? Because he didn't really do much. I thought he was a bit off there, to be honest. Final product doesn't look... He looks more raw than Esteval, which is quite weird. Yeah. But he looks slick. He's run at players. He's direct. He's not passing backwards like we had with Sancho. But yeah. Worried at all? I've forgotten he existed. Worried at all or no? Nah. No? No, Palace have a good side. Yeah, I do. Palace have had results against all these big teams.
27:59Yeah. It was a nil-nil. It was one of those ones where you go, all right, take it. We did say, didn't we? We were like, this is a banana skin for Chelsea. I think everyone's just looking at it and going like, that's a win for Chelsea. So they're a fucking good side. I think they were two of the most confident sides to kind of play at the moment. Like, you didn't really want to get either side because it's like, all right, they've won stuff. They're a bit like buzzing. Yeah. In the last 10, we've played like Arsenal away, Spurs away, Chelsea away, the cup final against City, the Community Shield against Liverpool, the semi-final against Villa, and we've not lost any of them.

28:29Yeah. Wow. Which is mad, yeah. Anyway, conversely, Leeds and Sunderland. Obviously, we spoke about Burnley losing. Welcome to the Premier League. Score the lads! Are you feeling stressed? Why? Of there being the potential that not all three teams go back down? No, I'm buzzing. Why? I don't want all three to go down. Oh, you're just backing against yourself. No, I thought or think all three will go down, but I don't want them to. Yeah, no, no. One bit. Yeah. First of all, the two I want to stay up are Leeds and Sunderland. Yeah, I think that's fair. Mate, I'm more than happy about that. I think I do think the Leeds win last night might be a little bit overrated Was it a pen?
29:13Was it a pen? I saw you guys saying this is a pen That's my woke thing No I didn't No I didn't I saw you say it's a bit harsh and I thought that's bollocks I can see it Toby knows what he's doing He does 100 % knows what he's doing He does know what he's doing He leans but how's it he has to Okay do you know my whole issue with all this and this discussion we're about to have either way I can see I can see it either way and I don't mind it either way. Like some different refs are going to have different perspectives and give different decisions. I'm okay with that. He didn't even give it. Yes, he did.
29:46He spoke to his assistant. And they said the VAR. Isn't that the whole point of refereeing though? I'm glad he had the bollocks to give it instead of not giving it and leaving it to VAR. I completely understand. Yeah, but you've also got to remember it's a shot on target. Okay, he's leaned into it with his arm behind his back but he's still leaned into it and hit his arm. Because you have to lean to block it. No, he doesn't have to do anything. He actually doesn't have to do anything. Let the ball go past him. But as a defender, you're trying to block. That's what annoys him. It's like, what's he meant to do?
30:14Just not try and block the ball? Yeah, not with his arm. That's literally the rule. Yeah, but he didn't try and block it with his arm. He leaned into it. I am not saying it should or shouldn't be a penalty. I'm saying I could see either way being given or not being given. They wouldn't overturn it. And I just don't think that is a decision we need to get annoyed about. No. Yeah. I think that's nonsense. If that was against Chelsea You'd be screaming for it No I wouldn't You would No I can understand If your arm's down there I can understand that If his arm's up here and all that Like the Ekotiki when he knocked it through I mean that should have been He slapped it away That's clear as anything Okay okay But that to me Like you're leaning into Right so here's my argument Okay so here's my argument Can I So can I put my arm behind my back And purposely use my arm to block it Just because it's behind my back He didn't purposely use He did though He leaned He didn't like twist You're giving a twist motion We're talking leans There's fine lines here He leans into it It's upper chest Also imagine Imagine Van Dijk Did that at Leeds last night And it wasn't given It wouldn't be People would There would be a civil war Yeah true But that's because It wouldn't be given So everyone's got this At the moment idea It's like Van Dijk Doesn't have stuff Given against him So that would I completely see Where you're coming from And I personally A part of me Doesn't want that If that was If that was like Look put this way If you stuck that in Like a final To decide something You really want that To be the for me that is not enough to like decide a game as such.
31:36Like he has to at least have your arm out a little bit. You can't, like if you were like this and you're leaning to and that costs someone winning something massive or sending someone down. I completely see it. I completely see both sides of the coin. I hope he sends Everton down, yeah. That's what I mean. Toffees might go down. I completely see both, no they won't go down. I completely see both sides of the coin and I think, I do think it was harsh but I can see why it was given and I just think someone made a, I was listening to TalkSword earlier and they made a really, really good point of like we have a criminal law, don't we but every police no no no wait no no Jamie Tarkovsky said be it bread hear me out we have a criminal law in this country right and does each police officer police that law the same they don't do they so you are going to get different referees who police who police our laws or referee our laws slightly different with different interpretations and this every time a referee doesn't give a decision you don't agree with first of all it doesn't make you right second of all get over it man these aren't the decisions to get worked up about, I couldn't believe the reaction on social media yesterday.
32:34Also, people that get worked up about VAR as well, like, people talk about VAR re-reffing the game, they're just like, mate, crack on. I think, even the SA one, I didn't agree with it, I thought it was bullshit, but it is the law. Yeah, true. That was just, it was more the fact that none of us had ever heard of that rule. That's why I found it nuts. I'll take it. Were you happy with it? Yeah. Very happy with it. I actually think, what a fucking cheat. I actually think it was a foul. Yeah, I was surprised they didn't give it as a foul. I thought at first, He fouls him. Is he offside and he's in the line of sight?
33:03No, he fouls him. He shuns him out of the way. It's a foul, but yeah, I mean, and what was the other one? The contentious one, the handball, yeah, I mean, but even that, that one was mental. But he doesn't mean it. What do you mean he doesn't mean it? Are you talking about the Sennessy one? Well, at the time, I didn't think he meant it, but I think he does. I think he does mean it, yeah. What? I feel... He panicked. I don't know. I thought, I thought, you know, He's on the halfway line and he flicks it away. I feel like Laventhal for me. I should have been red. Oh, I can't remember. Also, shout out Sunderland, 3-0 West Ham.
33:31Yeah, sorry. Let's go back to actually Sunderland. I said that I thought Sunderland would stay up and West Ham would go down before match day one. You went West Ham down? Stop the count. Stop the count, mate. A lot of people were reminding me yesterday. Congratulations, Maxi. The Premier League season, he's only one game, guys. I was going to say I feel a lot better about it because West Ham are bad. Yeah. Graham Potter sucks. That's not news. Yeah, I think... Playing Wan-Bissaka as a wingman. He's not. No, mate, he is awful. He's not, though, is he? He'll come out and say the boys played well.
34:01No, no, he's not. He said the goals changed the game on Saturday. Yeah, if Graham Brinkham... No, Graham Potter needs to be at, like, a club that doesn't have any spotlight, any, like... Do you know what Graham Potter needs? Graham Potter needs a club that has Alexis McAllister and Casado in it and enough good players there. It just is going to be okay. Also, since he left, right, then he's gone. Even then, only, like, 10th, and they've got better since he left. Right. They finished 17th. He didn't do too badly at Ostersunds or Swansea, did he? I forget we have avid Ostersunds fans. No, but you're saying...
34:31We probably do, actually. I understand he's not good enough or can cope with the size of a club of a Chelsea or even a West Ham. I don't think he can. But I think a Brighton or a Swansea, where he has excelled at... Did he? Yes. I think we looked at it because he was English and thought he's excelling. Whereas when you look at what De Zerbe did at Brighton, it's more impressive. I think what this... De Zerbe took over his team. Yeah, it was. I know, but there's a young child in charge that's doing better than he was doing. With a completely different team? And also with less superstars. Lots of money.
34:59What are you all about? Brian, back then, they had Macalester, Casado, those players. And who helped bring those players in? They were nurturing. And develop those players? Who helped develop those players and sell them on for stupid money? Bobby and Herzl spent£250 million last time. It's because you hate him. You can't see. He just said the boys played well. I wouldn't say that every time I don't know anything. Small club manager And unfortunately I think West Ham And also his style of play Will never ever suit West Ham What is his style of play? I was like He likes to play He likes to play It's like nice football Nice on the line Not ideal when you've got Full cricket But West Ham That's not East fucking London Is it?
35:37We want to fucking get involved Full cricket And Callum Wilson Is your striking option Full cricket got a 4.9 Didn't he on Fopmont? Did he? He stinks It was like a generationally bad I love him though He looks like a pirate though I don't know But if Juve looked okay Juve looked okay And Bowen played Juve had run off the line Yeah And Bowen Bowen tried But what I loved about Sunderland is They They sat in first half And went They didn't They didn't let the crowd Let them like go Let's get at them They just sat in Sat in And then second half Then they come out And had a go at West Ham I think they kind of They lulled West Ham is a fake sense Like oh we're Kind of dominating The ball and that And they come out second half And their new signings look good Diara looks good Yeah yeah And all three of the players Who scored were Players from last year Yeah me and all the old boys Yeah Which I really like The goalie looks good as well Do you know who's goalie He did look good Yeah Fucking hell I rate him I've said a lot It was like Pinocchio He was awful Have you not seen the goals Yeah I've seen the goals Fuck me Especially the third There were headers going in For 30 yards Yeah everyone's saying That me and the header Was amazing It's a good header But how do you not say that Me and the header's done as well As you can do with it But there's no world Where that should be going in That's a scarecrow goal Hot take A hot take I think Hermanson Reminds me Of nearly every single Chelsea Relegated goalie I've ever seen We had it with Sam Johnston Because you face 50 shots a game And naturally Because you're a goalie You save 45 of them People go He's a great shot stop He's brilliant He's perfectly suited then If West Ham are going down Yeah Well I just think These goalies Get so overrated At the smaller clubs Because they have to face So many shots Sam Joltz is a great example of that.
37:17Yeah. You got in the England squad at Albion. I was like, how was he in the fucking England squad? Like, it's embarrassing. And now he's on the bench for Wolves. We got 10 million for him last summer. Yeah, I know. It's crazy business. Because then we signed Henderson for like 15. Yeah, he might be part of money laundering. But, right, one game in. Let's just fucking... One game in is going down. For me, it was Brentford. I said Brentford before the start of the season. I thought Sunderland might stay up. Because I like their business. I'm the same, but I said Leeds would be the ones. There you go.
37:43So you've got Sam and... I mean, should we talk about the Leeds game? How good is Tanaka? Yeah. I mean, I'm not trying to be that, oh, I knew, but he was the best player in the Championship by a mile last season. I'm glad he's, that's just his level. I'm glad he's managed to move that level into the Premier League. Him, yes, and Ampadu was fucking brilliant. Yeah, they still need a little bit more in the final third, I think. Yes. How many already injured was he? I couldn't tell. I don't know. I thought about Willie Nonto as well. He wasn't even in the squad. Out of respect. Yeah, maybe. I think yeah as good as Leeds were in terms of they look better on the ball they look neater in possession Everton Everton what?
38:19I am going to get on to Everton in a minute but I never felt like they were going to score Leeds I felt they were dangerous but I never thought oh they're going to score now which that could be an issue but apparently they're still going to sign quite a few more before the end the transfer window but I want to fucking talk about that donkey up front Beto a Premier League striker oh my god Reeve I know you didn't watch the game I don't think one ball stuck to him it was fucking embarrassing to watch he's a 30 million pound Premier League striker on god knows how much a week and the ball it was like he was a human trampoline and he's been mocked by Joe Rodon not Maldini just hold the ball let's just lay a ball off once and then the fullbacks I know they're not full backs but fucking hell Everton they're like the first five minutes Michael Keane got a ball tried to play it down the line and just kicked it into the stand and you're like what is going to go on here?
39:22Are you a bit nervous about your Everton 9th prediction? No because they're going to sign full backs but they're going to get Michelenko back they're going to sign a right back and I think It's more he's going to work out Yeah and Jude's real did look an improvement on them I thought Jude's real was alright How does the front four work? And Jai and there's some moments and Jai had like four on him and he's just being fucked me. Is it Greenish? Do you reckon Greenish in the 10 and KDH at the back? No, Greenish come on on the left and Alcraz went into the 10 but I'm not. Where's Jai going? That's what I was saying.
39:50Jai went to the right and then Dewsbury Hall played deep. That's what I love. That's not Dewsbury Hall's. And I'd say it's not really in Jai's. No. If I was, if I'm Everton I'm playing, no and Jai can play on the right. I'd play in Jai on the right, Dewsbury Hall in the 10 and then Grealish on the left. Alcras is pretty good. I do like Alcras, yeah. I'm not a massive... I'll tell you who was good. I can't pronounce his name. Embrago. He's everywhere. Tim. He could have got sent off, actually, on Ampadu. But yeah, I'll just get Beto out the team. Also, I accidentally captained Barry in FPL. Didn't realise I had.
40:24Because basically, I captained Salah. Why'd you even have him? And then I took him out because I haven't put my stocks in Barry this year. I took Salah out, having had him captained, and I brought him back in and then forgot to recaptain him. and then last night I stopped watching with like a few minutes to go and I was like oh sweet like Barry's not come on checked it this morning he's got one minute yeah it came on at the end yeah it came on at the end where are all these Barry stocks coming from because I've seen a lot of people talk about him I've never heard of him I'm not impressed by him yeah because he's just 6 foot 5 and he's a David Moore striker and that's all I need he's a DCL with technical ability that's all I need I've never heard of him but yeah I've never ever seen him play but I know he's better than Beto yeah probably I just thought Beto last year was a handful he was a handful He's an ample for himself because he can't control the ball.
41:04He ran off ragged at Sellers last year. So God, he was unreal. Just one of those that like turns into our nine every now and again every one game. It's pretty mental. And I had someone tell me, sorry, someone tell him on Twitter last night. Oh, that's not his game. What is his fucking game then? He's a lone striker. He can't hold the ball up. Yeah, it's pretty sweet. Carry on. Yeah, anyway, moving on. We are obviously at the end of the transfer window. There's a couple of people that are being a bit naughty in the way that they're going about trying to get signed by other teams, etc. Johan Visser now unfollowed Brentford on Instagram.
41:38What is football now? He's changed his profile picture. He's removed all mention of Brentford from his Instagram. It's so weird. Also, this should be a massive red flag for Newcastle. Don't pop up. Like for a rating. There should be a red flag for Newcastle. They've got strikers doing the same thing to them at the moment. Like, if you want to get good... That is 100 % Stockholm syndrome if they're just like, right, we'll sign him. Yeah, yeah. He's just done that to his previous. If he's done that to Brentford, there is no reason why Wister wouldn't do that against Newcastle, especially if it works.
42:11I do love, though, is that whenever you see that within football and you always see it online now, everyone goes, shows you how determined he is to come here. You know what? Like, no. He doesn't. You're an idiot. You're an absolute idiot. How do you see this all playing out, then? What do you think happens? He'll get to Newcastle. No, but what do you think happens with Izak, then? I don't see. I think Ezek plays for Newcastle this season. I think Ezek stays now. And just plays anyway. I just don't think Liverpool are that dead set on either wanting him or needing him. If you said, like, what do Liverpool need?
42:40I feel like he'd be quite low down the list. Oh, definitely. Definitely. I actually think, crazily, Liverpool would be better off going for Vissa as, like, a backup to... That would be so funny. Please do that. Would you not like Obviously I know this This sounds mental to say Because obviously He's act way better than Visser But I don't They need a backup They don't need a star He doesn't look like someone He looks amazing I would say Visser for 50 million quid To any club though Why would anyone He's 27 as well isn't he He's had like He was obviously really good last season But like he has had like one If Newcastle do sign Visser Do they just go right well we see now he's arrived at the club let's try and work our way back to being friends with Isaac again because that's kind of like look for a month they'll go we don't want to it's so contradictory to do that he scores and they're like yeah and he'll go yeah he'll go yeah yeah yeah yeah he'll point at the ground like I'm saying yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah it's very fickle You can't not utilise a player that good for your season.
43:56He's like, yeah, you can't. Who are you kidding? They haven't scored a goal in four games without you. I wish, I wish. It's completely unrealistic and stupid. Obviously, I know I did my rant the weekend. I wish the Newcastle owners went, you're not leaving and you're rotting. Just to go, fuck, for three years. You've got three years on your deal. You can rot for three years. And that ruins your career, actually. We'll take the£120 million hit and probably ruin our PSR chances for the next three years just to spite you, you fucking wanker. That's how much it's wowed me up this because Newcastle are a big club, man.
44:31By the way, gave you your chance in the big league. Absolutely, yeah. You've got a manager and teammates, by the way, who are probably your friends. Yeah, that's not a problem. Who the fuck are you just to not turn up and play just because you want to leave and get to Liverpool? I do get you, but at the same time, there is a part of me that thinks, like we look at it as fans where it's like, yeah, this is really bad. It's a job for them and there is a part of them going, I want to go to this job. You won't let me go. I understand. It works the other way where like, look at Man United where they'll have a Sancho, they'll have all these players that they just cut, like Hoyland right now.
44:58They're like, bye-bye, in the under-21s you go. They don't care for their career. That's true. No, I know. So there's a part where from the players' point of view, I do get it that they go, I'm digging my heels in. So don't sign a six-year contract with no release clause then, Toby. I get it. And don't blame the club. Didn't make him sign that. The club would do the other way where they go, you need to go. And it's like, well you'll pay me 200k a week I'm not getting that elsewhere so I'm not getting that Ben Chilwell apparently that's equally fair the same way who did it Jack Rodwell did it at Sunderland I think the club and players do the kind of same thing it's just fans support when the club do it there's no loyalty there's no loyalty in football whatsoever but you've signed a contract you're under contract people who work at Asda can't just go I'm not coming in because I fucking oh no it's mental I'm not that it's accepted in football and if they did they'd be sacked but they won't be sacked but it's not I mean you say it's accepted in football it's not really not really but it is legally it's somewhat normal that a man doesn't turn up it's only accepted because clubs don't do anything about it because they can't because nobody's going to sack a 120 million pound asset are they it's never going to happen I saw something that football lawmakers were looking at introducing something where players can basically get out of their contract easier than they currently can so we might as well not have contracts in also like that literally cost Newcastle like hundreds exactly I will say there's like looking at it from a neutral standpoint there's got to be something behind the scenes where Newcastle promised him something Oh no no no Lewis told us Lewis said it Yeah yeah that's what he said He said it Isaac was 100 % initially in the right I agree with his stance of asking to leave and wanting to leave because he was promised things for the last I think last 18 months that's why he was shit assorted last season because he was sulking because Amanda Stavely promised him a pay rise, then they left and the new guy coming in said, you're not having a pay rise and his argument was, you're telling me I'm the best striker in the world, but you're paying me the same as Matt Target.
46:54What's going on here? That's his issue, but there's ways around it and there's ways of doing things, isn't there? You don't have to do this. You don't have to do it. You don't have to do it. I just think, I love him as a footballer, but I've really, really lost, I mean, like he gives a fuck about my opinion, but yeah, like, fuck, I've lost Tom Garrett's respect. Oh, shit. I knew this wasn't right. I really just think he's a twat now. I just think, who the fuck do you think you are? Also, like, what does he even do now? Let's say he doesn't get a move. Like, how does he, because if he comes crawling back, it's just arguably more embarrassing.
47:30But if I was his teammate, I wouldn't want him near me. I'd be few. Better language for you. They would have won that game the weekend, by the way, Newcastle, with Izak. Because they battered Villa. All they needed was a finish out. they'd have won that game and they're running their bollocks off without a striker Gordon's trying to fit in if that's me I'm going and he tries to just come crawling back going oh just because Liverpool won't pay the fee alright lads I'll be like fuck you you Swedish fuck and Lange is there like what the hell well I agree with the sentiment but don't go that far also Gordon's Gordon's hairband's stupid by the way I just think he goes tail between his legs even if it will happen then there's not a world where the inevitability of him not being signed by Liverpool having to grovel back to the club and then playing for 30 games of the season yeah yeah yeah sorry guys he'll be back after the international break Newcastle will eventually they will eventually forget about it Newcastle fans so by the end of the transfer we know where is Alexander Rezac playing just one word answer Liverpool Newcastle Liverpool I think Newcastle ah split decision Will I don't do so you can be who you can play for Newcastle Newcastle Do you reckon Vist is going up there as well?
48:45Yeah So it'd be Vist around Yeah they have to get him Which by the way Is a fucking good window For Newcastle They've had a decent window When you look at it On paper It's actually pretty good It's just all the surrounding It was all the Quackery going on Yeah Yeah Yeah They were They were They were trying to get to Like Marbella and Ibiza To pull a bird When really They needed to get to Zanty That's like Still some good ones I mean Well I do know No, I'm saying this is... I'm saying this is... Anywho. Anywho. What's next? Talk about who Liverpool need to sign up. We spoke about it a bit earlier.
49:19Gahey to Liverpool, even as a Palace fan, I'm amazed they've not pulled the trigger on that. They've got some giant Italian bloke over there. But he's like 18 or something. He's like, Gahey for 40 million quid is such a good deal. I'm amazed that Liverpool haven't done it. I'm amazed that Chelsea haven't done it. Why not? Yeah, that's true actually. We're looking for something so specific at the moment. It's like... What, like a really good centre-hal? No, no, no. No, no, no. It's someone who can punch through lines. That's exactly what we need. That is what Mark Gay can do. That's not to that level.
49:50That is what Mark Gay can do. It's not. He's so underrated. We've got Atrimpong coming through. It's like they don't really want to block him. Cole was at this injury. They don't really want to block that. And then they've got enough in there with Tosin and Fafanas. They've got a lot of players. I get it. Short-term, I want a defender. But long-term, it doesn't make sense. I think that's a really weird way of looking at it. I think you immediately... Atchipong will be a much better defender than Gahey is. I'm not worried about that. And then Colwell already is. So I'm like, what? There's no what.
50:18But when is Colwell back? I'm not joking. That is not... Mark Gahey was England's best centre-back at Euro 2024. He was our best defender. One of our best players. Yeah, I agree with that. Are there five better centre-halves in the league than Gahey? No. Yeah. Van Dijk and Kanata are two. I don't think Canata is better than Gabriel Saliba Gabriel Saliba Yeah they both are John Stones is five Colwell's six No this isn't like Colwell's not better than Gay What are your thoughts on Laquard I really like Colwell I really like Gay he is better than Colwell What are your thoughts on Laquard being better than Gay Even I He's the glue Gay he is the glue Gay he will go somewhere Probably Liverpool He will go somewhere like Liverpool and now people will be like wow Gay he has got so much better like It's like the Declan Rice To Arsenal thing They're like wow But he's really stepped His game up Mark Gahey Yeah A.K.A.
51:13you've watched him For more You don't think That would be the case with you Because so many people Have been watching Palace Because of what you've been Winning and doing The last six months And he's played for England For a while If Gahey went to Liverpool He wouldn't start Until Canate goes to Real Madrid I think it would be difficult To break into the team That's what I do agree with that I do think Gahey I do think Gahey Is technically a better defender Than Canate But Canate physically Is a lot better than Gahey Which suits Liverpool better That's a very good assessment. But, like, again, the value for a player like Gehi, who's so experienced, he's a leader, he's played for England, he's only 40 million quid, I just don't get why more teams haven't done it.
51:45If you're Liverpool, right? Chelsea should be all over it, not Liverpool. No, but from what I've read, he said yes to Liverpool and he has no interest in us. Yeah, I think Gehi only wants to go to Liverpool. Yeah, and the thing is for Liverpool, if they're sat there going, right, we have Canate for another year, his deal's up, Real Madrid union for him, all right, Gehi, we'll get you for free in a year. I think that's the thing. Is that how many years left? He's got one year left. So it's like 40 million now, or we get three. We've got Canate, we've got Gomez, we've got this Italian one, we've got Van Dijk, we've got four centre-backs.
52:08Is Canate going this summer or not? No, this summer. He'll go next summer, I think, to Madrid, yeah. Yeah, so I think... Both their deals end simultaneously, so I think it will literally be that. He goes to Real and he goes to... What Palace could really use, actually, is just someone bidding for Gehi. Like, someone like Newcastle. What do you want to happen with Gehi? Well, I am assuming he's not going to sign a new contract and he'll go at least next summer. I'd rather we got money for him. Right. So like, it's kind of a win-win. Like, it's obviously, if we have him for a year, that's great.
52:35Is it worth 40 million pounds for a year? That's the question, isn't it? Possibly. But the thing is, so last, last season we rejected 70 million quid for him. And then we won the FA Cup. So it's like, to maybe it's like financially to the club, that's not an equal thing, but for a fan, and we wouldn't have won it without Gehi. But if you win the conference, then you're worth it. Yeah, it is worth it. Who cares? Yeah. But you're not going to be like, wish we had that 40 million to start instead. Who are the two players I saw the other day that you've signed? But are they replacements for potentially Eze and Gehi leaving or are you just getting them as part of this?
53:08So we've already signed, we've signed a backup keeper and a left wing back. We've been linked today to Huang He-Chan from Wolves on loan. He's not the best chance I believe. As an Eze replacement, right? Well, we need depth. El Canoos, I like that. Yeah, El Canoos from Leicester is the, I think is our number one. And I think we'll get him. I think the only reason Eze hasn't been confirmed to Spurs yet is because we need to agree that first and then they'll both happen at the same time. Which is... I mean, if you get Huang, you're in trouble, mate. He's got a great chant. When Wolves came to Palace in 2021 and they sung the chant to She's Electric, it's been stuck in my head for four years.
53:43Yeah, they stole that from him. It was with Mikey Johnson. Dingle bastard. By the way, we are joint top of the league if we want to talk about it. We've won two out of two. Ryan Mason is absolutely flying. Our new striker is fucking unbelievable. But let's talk about your shitty clubs. Yeah, go on, carry on, carry on. Tell me about how boring Chelsea are. Go on, tell me. We were boring. I mean, like, like I said, at centre-back, we're just lacking. It was so sideways. Oh. Chalibre's very side-first. Decent player, but side-first. It's only you had... Gaye is not punching through like Holwell and Tosin do.
54:13He's just not. Tosin? Oh, my God. Clip this up right now.
54:21Gaye is a one million times better passer of the football than Tosin Adler-Rubayo yes he is no he's not Tosin no just any other Tosin that is someone who's not watched Tosin oh he's playing for my claw he's dog shit he's not he's good on the ball I'm not taking the piss he kicks the ball like he's wearing clown shoes you can play him down I'm telling you on the ball as a passer of the football he's actually good are you talking about he is what do you think Marguerite is like I don't know what do you watch he's a good player he's a great player He's not as good a passer of the football as Tosin specifically.
54:56He's not. No way. He's not. He's just not. But anyway, that was our build-up. We were boring on top of that because I also thought, like, Esteval just injects a lot more life into us. He needs to play. I thought Delap suited playing Palace more. Cole Palmer from open play since January, mate. That's a bit of a problem, isn't it? Yeah, but... Yeah, that's terrible, actually. Yeah, not a nice stat, but he kind of kicked into gear the last few months. I thought yesterday was just more... The pre-season tournament, you had that one. Oh. All right, qualify for it one day.
55:25he was good then and it was just against Palace the lines are so close between their midfield and defence he's just like we couldn't find those passes through we were just done if only you had Mark Gahey Mark Gahey's not the answer to Chelsea I'm telling you that it'd be like a Bastoni or something would be the actual that's someone who could do that job Colwell could Colwell's the best at it well Bastoni's left sided isn't it he'd be the Colwell replacement no because Colwell's central we don't play with it's not no but I mean Colwell's left footed on the left hand side of your defence isn't he no but he's not on the left hand side of offense, that's what I'm saying.
55:52He's in the middle. When we build up, he's in the middle. Do you not need like another mid, not another midfielder you've got like, a lot of them, but a midfielder that can actually like break the lines to a really elite level? We do. Caselo does, Santos does, Asugo does. What about Lavia? They've got a lot of players that can do that. Lavia does, but he's never fit. Lavia's probably the best at it. To be honest, Lavia would solve a lot of our problems. Yeah, I think Lavia's already. I think they would love each other really well. If Lavia fancies being, he hasn't played 190 minutes for us and we've had him two years that's mad that's a mad statistic what's up with him at the minute I don't know general injury he's just he's always got something going on that's the problem but he would he would be a solution I'm a big fan of the lab it's like banking on Wesley Fofana he's not going to be there that was a good signing wasn't it 80 million anyway Rodrigo apparently to Arsenal Asna he is the person that we actually need that's literally unless we're doing the old sack of to left wing as you say That's the actual solution Yeah Really For sure But is he still 86 million I think Yeah I mean In today's market That's probably fair Are we sure Arteta doesn't see him As a midfielder Who?
56:58Rodrigo Yeah Are we sure Like are we actually Do we know this You think it's his Rodgers Yeah do we know Yeah maybe Yeah he's like Oh he's got the same name Yeah Wingback Maybe He's linked with City as well though right And they're not City will only do that I think if Savino goes Won't they Probably As you said he's not Yeah Yeah, but they've already got Doku and Mahmoud on that left-hand side. They've got Foden, Oscar Bob. I can't see City going into it. And Cherky. Blank checkbook. Other than something ridiculous. An outright left-winger that Roderick could do. Would he be the one? Yeah, I think so.
57:33He solves the problem. In the market that we have. The one for me I can't understand. How did like... How were Arsenal not in for Kavaro when he went? Yeah, I agree with that. When I think of that in the last year, I'm like, that's such a no-brainer just to be there even. Yeah, yeah. But yeah, I don't see that happening. In fairness to Kavari, he did drop off a bit at Napoli before he signed for PSG. I do think... I think a lot of people... The PSG resurgence. Yeah, I think a lot of people thought maybe he's not as good as we thought. I just think that was Conte, what he wanted to play. Yeah, mate.
58:05Yeah, no, maybe. And again, I'm not a fucking chief scout for Arsenal. They should know that really. But if they get Rodrigo, I think you win the league. Well, the£86.3 million that's reported apparently would pay for Canote and Adam Wharton. You wouldn't get both of them for that. Well, the funds would help pay for... No, Wharton won't go this window. I do think we need to sell someone this window. We've got no money. It will be Eze. And it will be Eze. And I'm kind of fine with... I love Eze so much, so much. Second favourite Palace player ever behind Wilf. But I think£60 million with a lot of...
58:39You don't know him. Yeah, I do. He's my close personal friend. I think 60 million quid with a lot of that up front for Eze is a really good deal for us I really do think that what about if you sold Gayhi, Adam Wharton and Eze I mean we would get relegated yeah yeah Wharton Wharton will be a big sale probably next summer if he plays every game this year and stays fit he is a lease A tier would he stay in the first half against us he's just ridiculous he's got a start for England enough setup I don't know if I said it on here he has to be the first he is an insane player him and Declan Rice together would be amazing I think because it would allow Rice to just you release him you let him flourish he will be this generation's Carrick if he doesn't play oh where people are going no no I mean that is the player who should have played that would have got us over the line when in the last international break at the start of the summer Wharton wasn't in the squad Tuchel spoke about him loads in the press conference and said we have a plan for him and blah blah blah like because I mean who else is going to start next to Rice I am half glad these links have come about with Madrid because now I think people take him more seriously yeah because I feel like because he plays for Palace people don't think well Eze is the one that jumps out at people so they almost there's like a ladder yeah but even even Elisa I think people were surprised he went to Bayern and I was like why are you surprised by that you watched him play Elisa and Wharton are both better than Eze yeah yeah agreed agreed I love Eze so do I he's such a you want about the one in the first half where he took it and megged a little 1-2 wall pass no that was the Eze one you were talking about the Reece James when he megged Reece James oh my god it was quite funny I saw Seb who's a Spurs fan say about Eze he was like oh I didn't actually think Eze was brilliant against Chelsea I thought he had some really nice moments but his decision making at times in the final third was a bit weird and I was like that is Eze and you need to get used to that he kept trying to shoot from 40 yards we were like stop doing that he will have those spells where it's like it will all come off from that month yeah exactly and that happened at the back end at the start of April last season he had two Premier League goals that was it also I think the chance sorry the possibility with Eze is a team like Spurs he's going to have a lot more of the ball he can't afford to try more things and he'll have less attention and yeah like kudos on the right and stuff that will help him a lot 100 % he's just so good to watch he is he's one of my favourite players to watch he's just a beautiful footballer not in that way not in a caliphy not in a caliphy yeah exactly well actually what we're about to do guys we're going to solve every club's problem for the rest of the transfer window because clearly no pressure some clubs have some missing gaps that they need to fill certainly in terms of transfers now I don't know how deep the research has been from you guys I trust that you've put a lot into this show because you care about us I feel like Tom's just going to say numbers and and places that teams need?
1:01:40Yeah, because I'm going to be honest, I am not a chief scout. I don't know the answer. Like, Albin again linked with a guy from Denmark who apparently is amazing and he's going to be a great signer for a bit like Hegebo has been already. If you'd have asked me at the start of the window Albin should sign, I'd probably go, Adam Armstrong. I don't know. But I can tell you... He's a friend of the show. Friend of the show. I can tell you where teams need to improve and the position. and maybe then you guys can tell me a specific name. But in terms of the sales, I'll fucking tell you players, teams should sell immediately.
1:02:14I've not done many. Let's start with Everton, Beto. I thought that might be the case, yeah. Can we say no one? Yeah, you can indeed say like the team doesn't need to sell player, but just buy someone. Should we start? Are we starting with Everton? Is that what we're doing? No, I think we start with the leagues of Wolves.
1:02:58I mean They're absolutely desperate for a right back. They need a right back immediately. They should buy Lamptey because where is he? Lamptey's a good shout, actually. That is a good shout. Lamptey's a really good shout. Saw Tommy Asso on the free agents list, but he's currently injured. That would be a useful... You're joking. He's been released and also injured. But yeah, if he's back to full fitness, that's not a bad Premier League. They need a bit more like... What wages are you going to be on now? Tommy Asso's probably a quite big wage. Tommy Asso existed? Yeah. Did anyone see him play? He didn't play.
1:03:32He was fucking great, mate. Was he? Yeah. How many games do you play for Arsenal, actually? I'd love to know. Number one, it can't be more than, like, ten. Nah. It's obviously more than ten. Mate, he was in every time. I'd always see him. I'd always see him. I'd ask for my ass who's in. I'm like, he's always in. So we're agreeing in Sel Hwang. Yeah. And multiple signings, Wolves, I think, before the end. Lamptey, you guys need. Lamptey's probably a good shout-out. Midfield, someone like... I quite like their midfield Wolves. Yeah, but they've got no depth. Yeah, true. If Andre gets injured or Joe Gomez gets injured, they're fucked.
1:04:03Because they've just sold Tommy Doyle to Blues. I don't know why. Tommy Doyle's like a really good midfielder. I don't know why you wouldn't keep him as backup to, I don't know, but... Piss me off that. Maybe Henderson was for them. That could have been them. Keep it again, wages. That's like a backup. Wages, a Wolves are going to pay 140 grand. Is that how much Brentford are paying him? I imagine so. 65 Premier League games for Tommy Asif. No more than 10 Nah That's a lie West Ham Well they're Trying to sell Edson Alvarez At the moment Aren't they They need a mobile Midfielder Get rid of Rodriguez He is shit I know obviously You mentioned him earlier But Andre Santos I was just about To say the same thing On loan On loan But they're not Going to get him Why not Because we're using him No I'm not As in like When does that mean No because There's plenty of players Here No he plays for our club They can't have him There's plenty of players Here I'd say Chelsea Would sell we have a lot of players they're on the market Xander Santos is one where they flat out says like he's not going anywhere what other centre midfield is a Chelsea goal there's got to be yeah Jewsby Hall got sold to Everton they'll keep he would have been a good signing yeah Jewsby Hall would have been right there yeah I don't think that's what they need though they need they need like a are they going to play two midfield I've actually gone with another player I don't know if he exists but Milinkovic Savic just get him over from the Saudi and put him at West Ham I mean talk about wages he'd probably ask like 400 round a week at West Ham maybe he wants to play in the Prem and West Ham have paid some silly wages in the past oh yeah that's their bread and butter there's got to be there's got to be some player at Lille at Lille who's like 22 who's like 34 I actually did some research for that but he's my Brighton oh okay and he actually plays for Lille he's 17 them bringing Guendouzi in makes sense to me as well is Guendouzi still at Marseille doesn't that sound really West Ham who's he playing for He's still at Marseille, isn't he?
1:05:56He was doing all right. He's just been kicked out of training for having a fight with someone. No, that was Rabiot. Oh, they kind of look the same. Also, Rabiot to West Ham. Rabiot to West Ham. That could 100 % happen. That makes sense. Go and get Rabiot. He's pretty big. An overpaid player who is probably a bit washed and has a massive attitude problem. Get him to West Ham. That checks out. Okay, next up we have got... Burnley. I don't think any of the priority teams should really sell anyone. No, I agree. Especially Burnley, who have just placed out. I have an answer for Burnley. I think check if he's still there.
1:06:28Is actually Barnes still there? Yes. If so, get rid. You're not going to get any money from him. Burnley needs to sign Josh Sargent. Norwich, really? I have another Josh, who's a free agent currently. Josh De Silva is a free agent. Ex-Brentford. I actually have another Josh. What, Josh Brownhill? The captain who left. Yeah, but he got like 20 goal-conduced from them last year. Why did he leave? Bring him back. Because I thought he was going to Sheffield United. I feel like, am I not right in saying he's not signed? I don't think he's signed for anyone. Get him back. He was their captain last year and he was like their best player.
1:07:04Why would they? He's not going to go back though. Yeah, but he's just trying. I'm not sure why he left. Does that solve an issue though, really? Well, it's just like continuity. The lack of Josh. Yeah. Any more Joshes. Go get all three of them. Oh my God. I actually have another Josh. I have Josh Datro Fofana. Just because we can't sell him. so they had him on loan before take him back please didn't he do he did alright there right he's got a really good guy to go to the fam yeah I remember that yeah so have him back Josh De Silva's in the Brentford one yeah oh hey he was quite good he's currently a free agent yeah but a lot can change in a couple of years there's a reason Dean Marnie Dean Marnie might be Dean Marnie Richard Chapler yeah I wouldn't sell anyone for Burnley I'd go and get Josh Sargent Brentford oh Brentford don't sell anyone else are they selling with sir you know what for 50 mil sell Vissa mate I think that's good money right yeah because he's on strike sell Vissa and then oh my god I haven't got the answer I've got the perfect answer for Brentford you buy Dwight Gale because you're going back down you're going down to the championship you need to get prepared Jordan Rose sell Damsgaard as well while you're at it because you're going to get better money now than you will next year that's a good point I mean I feel like he'd be quite useful still when you speak about how you're not a scout Brentford are the perfect example of just like I don't know who you're going to sign but I trust that you all know someone better and I will Brentford will get someone in we've never heard of who will be running and he'll be Danish yeah yeah he'll be some sort although I think that's I'll have a good year for them yeah yeah he will not use the cliche he'll be like a new signing he'll be really he was really highly rated before he got to the league wasn't he he scored at the weekend didn't he I know it was a penalty but still I think I do think they need probably another midfielder I'd put a midfielder I'll tell you what I need they need a manager let's not jump in the field I'm not buying Keith Andrews is becoming a good manager guys why?
1:08:50just not It's a bit Gary O 'Neill to me Yeah that's probably And Gary O 'Neill If he was called Keith Andrus You'd say Yeah yeah yeah I'm just looking at Keith Andrus Remembering at Birmingham I'm like that's not Going to be a good manager Can't be Did he play for Birmingham Was it you Was it Albion I know he was Albion Well he was at Wolves Early on his career Then he played for it Maybe he did all the Midlands I'm not sure He was good man He was a good player No I think Brentford are a cog They'll be fine It's Moneyball They're good Tom Garrett bingo that I think It's a cog I think Brent was the heart and soul.
1:09:21Isn't their own looking sad? Thomas Frank was the assistant manager and then got promoted to manager. That's what they do. Yeah, but I'm ignoring that information. Oh, right. Okay, that's fair enough then. Bournemouth. Again, don't sell anyone else. Do you know what you do in Bournemouth? I mean, I've chosen another free agent here. Where do they need help? Centre back depth. Yeah. That's quite a few. Kurt Zouma. Is he a free agent? He's currently a free agent. That's a good shout. That is a good shout. But then, no, they're going to... That's so not Bournemouth though, is it? they need to go and sign yeah but he doesn't he doesn't have to necessarily start for them it's just true who played centre back for them on Friday night Sinesi and I can't remember the other Donnie's name Adam Smith or something no he played he played right probably Adam Smith probably Mepham or something it was do you know what they should do they should buy Iriola a big present for about a money Diakito it is crazy how much money I'll tell you I'll tell you who I'd go if I was Bournemouth and again obviously who was it Sinesi and Diakito Go and get Esteev from Burnley Yeah He's quality But will Burnley sell I think they will if you took 50 million at him They lost Egan Riley didn't they Or is he Did they sell him or is he injured Or he was like They lost Trafford Yeah they just They can't afford to sell But Walker played to sell him back didn't he Yeah I think yeah Esteev will either leave Well I don't think he will leave this summer But if I was If I was Bournemouth I'd try and give him If not he'll go next year Because he's not having another year in the championship Sell I'd go with fucking Jesus Christ.
1:10:50Get rid of... They've kind of sold everyone. Get rid of Billion. Yeah, I mean, I feel like out of all the clubs that don't need to sell them. They could also get money for Philip Billion. Yeah, stop selling. Wasn't he in Napoli last season? Yeah, he was on loan last year, wasn't he? Put their sales on pause. Please, stop selling. Or that Unal. Sell him. He's rubbish. I don't think they should sell him else. Yeah, I agree. I agree. Man, Chester, United. Sign Donnarumma. Donnarumma, yeah. It's pretty nice, isn't it? Yeah, that's a tap-in. I've gone with... sell Bruno get Wharton slash Belieber why would you sell Bruno they're not going to sell Bruno Bruno for me now he needed to cash in yeah I do agree with that the most amount of money you're going to get from him is this summer and that midfield is a bigger problem probably than the goalie I genuinely think that I'd sell I don't know sell Sancho you saw it at the weekend he's the keeper I think next summer the competition for the Beliebers and Whartons is going to be so much higher like right now I think most other teams are kind of settled yeah that is You're going to get one now with no one competing.
1:11:50I think they've been priced out of Belieber, haven't they? And they're not going to get Wharton. Sell Hoyland, sell Sancho, get Donnarumma, get Belieber. No one will buy Hoyland. They will. AC Milan, I'm starting in. I've got Hoyland. It'll be an Italian club that goes, loan with option to buy. And then at the end of the window they go, you know what, fine. Was that an accent? No, it wasn't. Loan with option to buy. I didn't go all in on it, but you know what I mean. They do it every summer the Italian clubs right at the end of the window they go, will take an option. Yeah. Never activate it. Yeah.
1:12:18I said this a few months ago back in the night and they were linked to him today, I saw. They should get Hulman, who plays for Sporting Lisbon. He's like a 26-year-old midfielder. They need a midfielder badly. I love the vanilla. But yeah, he played under Amirim at Sporting. He knows how to play in the midfield role in that system. I like it. He's supposed to do Garte and he looked pants. Yeah, he was shocking. He was shocking. I think he scored the goal against England. Did he not score that screamer against England? But Denmark. But Denmark. I mean, yeah, he looks like he did. So we'll say, yeah.
1:12:49But yeah, I read that they were looking for him today. So we're spoiling by Hjolnmund. Yeah, exactly. Exclusively get people that have ate their shit at the start of their age. You've got to play both of them. Everton. I don't think I'd be selling any. Well, Beto, but that's not realistic. I don't think Everton should be selling any. They cash in on anyone. I'm trying to think. They need to. No They can't get rid of Brant Them and Tarkovsky They were brilliant I've gone Just because it's Moyes though I think they should bring in Suchek Just because Oh yeah I like that I just like the idea Yeah that's good Who's to midfield At that point then Really I don't know But you find a way Of getting Suchek in I just feel like Suchek It's just a gay Dewsbury Hall Suchek Yeah Piena They need to sign a right back Yeah right back What about Diogo Dallow On loan Just Chuck Lamsey No, he's going to be playing.
1:13:43Will he? He started against us. Surely Ahmad's going to be playing there long term. Well, apparently Everton... Masari was the signing of the season. Everton have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Tete. Really? As in Kenny? That's a solid signing. Wow. That's actually decent. That is a good signing. He was decent, wasn't he? Oh, no. Oh, sorry, no. Kenny Tete signed a new contract. Sorry, yeah. I've just seen the next one. However, that deal fell through. Yeah, but I... You just got click-based. Yeah. Apparently they're in for Juanlu Sanchez from Sevilla and James Justin. James Justin.
1:14:18That's very Everton. Mate, pre-injury Justin was class. Yeah, I think I don't have the answers. Maybe that Juanlu Sanchez. Definitely a right back though, isn't it? They need a right back. They can't keep playing Jacob Bryan out there. He's too big. He's a big stiff idiot. He's so big. He's a pro clubs guy. You go, I'm a right back today. Really? Again. If they do sort that, though, they're all right. You know Everton when you go through their team. Get Mikhilenko back. Get a right back. Then they've got Branthwaite, Tarkovsky. Midfield of like... What's his name? Yeah. Irobri, Gay. And then Jusby, Grealish, Injai.
1:14:57And then Barry. It's not a bad side, is that? It's not a bad side at all. They're close. I'm close. Come on. What have we got next? Newcastle. Sainvisa. Sainvisa. Sell Matt Target. Sell. sell Joe Linton for Colin Gallagher oh Colin Gallagher at Newcastle would be unreal I've been on Joe Linton well now and get literally but who's going to buy Joe Linton with Colin Gallagher will they let him go if let's go if let's go open to selling him he doesn't even start for them I think Stran Larson is a better shout than Wisser I think Colin Gallagher at Newcastle wins so much Wolves won't let Stran Larson no they won't but you could probably get Stran Larson for a similar fee to Wisser no I don't know about that surely he's got quite a few years on his contract although I was reading the other day He's younger as well, isn't he?
1:15:40This has to be wrong. It has to be wrong. But I tried to find so many different sources of Strand Larson's wage. And everyone kept telling me he's on 12 grand a week. He might well be. That cannot be right. They're signing for like 25 million. That can't be right, yeah. Was he 25 million? 780 grand a week. That cannot be right. Strand Larson is not on 15 grand a week. He might be. Yeah, he could be. He can't be. Why not? In that case, anyone who goes in for him is going to be pretty keen. Average salary of 780 grand. I think he is, you know. He can't be. Why? He can't. Jed Wallace is on more than that.
1:16:21Jed Wallace. Mate, you can't. Go and get him. Go and get him. Give him a nice big pay rise. 20 grand a week. Zach is aging as well. Yeah, in the meantime. Yeah, yeah. How are you doing those contracts? You're starting Premier League striker with like 15 goals last season. 15 grand a week. I think Newcastle should sell Isaac. I agree. Just go and take the money. Oh, sorry. That is actually right. Sell Isaac for 130 mil. I think they should go for Conor Gallagher. I think that could... What, to replace Isaac? Play him up front. I don't think they need to... Get Joe Lenton back where he belongs. No, no, no.
1:16:54Fuck that. Fuck that. Joe Lenton up front, Gallagher in midfield. The Newcastle press would be insane. Now they've got Jacob Ramsey. They're good in midfield now, I think. With Miley as well. They've got a good depth in midfield. They should sell Isaac and get Vissat and Strand Larson. that would be that would be a really good window for them that would be a brilliant window for Newcastle and they'd still have money left over I reckon at that point yeah yeah definitely Crystal Palace Eagles back in 12th uh sell Eze yeah I'll put just get the money he's obviously gonna go I need you one of science um I mean El Canoes is the obvious one I've got one for you that I really hope doesn't happen Tom Fellows yeah you said that you said that before Tom Fellows would be good for you I don't know if this is silly but you know let me know if it is or Isaac Price you need someone creative to fill the EJ role so I put Carney Chukwameka I would love Chukwameka I would love it we were linked with him last summer but I think he only wants to go to Dortmund he was at Dortmund he was at Dortmund apparently he only wants I would love him at Palace and we did want him but he fills the role pretty well oh he does I feel like I saw his name on Sky Sports News the other day hasn't he gone somewhere no he's there we're trying to sort it with like Dortmund but again they're very much we want loan and option to buy I think we should go in for him I agree another one who I saw people talking about yesterday outside of Huang was we spoke about Marseille changing room bust up.
1:18:07It was Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe who used to play for Norwich. Who's like, England under 21, or 23, now whatever he is. He'd be pretty cheap. We were linked with him previously. And he's attacking mid as well. Yeah, he's like a winger. But I think that'd be great. He's been on football manager, he's been on football manager. Exactly. Exactly. That's all I need. I went very ambitious with, I just think Palace should swing their dick around and make a bid for Matoma. Even if they don't want it. Just to unsettle a bit. Just let them know. You go, the FA Cup. we've got European football we've got Europe we can take you and even if it doesn't go through it's just going to rattle them a bit I quite like that I like the idea of that let's do that not buy him but definitely bid for him just make some noise just stir the pot and then Chelsea do you want to tell us do Chelsea need to sell and buy?
1:18:52I'd put my man yeah yeah or a goalkeeper of some sort that's not Robert Sanchez I'd put I think Donnarumma for them as well okay well yeah you couldn't reuse selections I suppose yeah I think Donnarumma I still I think it will happen but I still would like Xavi Simons I've gone with selling Kunku Xavi Simons that's the thing wait you don't you don't need a keeper you think you don't need a keeper we need a keeper if I went actually need I'd say sell Jackson get Bastoni that would be like if my Roman brain was on where I'm like just do that yeah but there's a part of and Kunku's gonna go buy in any I think yeah but again another one where it's just trying to get fees out these clubs is the problem but yeah I think Jackson would generate the most yeah I'd put sell Nicholas Jackson actually Jackson to Newcastle I changed my mind I want Jackson to Newcastle I like All three of them?
1:19:35Vises, Stran, Larson and Jackson? Just get all the strikers that are available. Sack off Whistler, go and get Jackson. How many can we replace these over? Right, next up we've got Aston Villa. Signed Rasmus Hoyland on loan. As a backup to Ollie Watkins and playing the New Open League. Jackson would be good with them. Jackson's very similar to Watkins, I think. And he worked with Emery before, he's younger. Yeah, Jackson's a great show. I put by Garassi. It's a similar vein. Really silly, Villa aren't going to sign anyone, they can't. Yeah, they literally can't it's quite weird they need to stop crying about that by the way have you seen their wage bill the players though have sort of started to say stuff I got slated for saying there's something weird at Villa at the minute there's just something in the air it feels weird enough and their performance Saturday show Watkins doesn't look interested there's definitely something behind the scenes at Villa that is just not right and them McGinn and Ming's coming out so publicly about the Ramsey sale he's a bit like Martinis was crying last season but now no one's dealt with him.
1:20:35Yeah, that's weird. They should sell Martinez on that note, by the way. Yeah, sell Martinez. What's the new keeper called? He was well good the other day, I thought. He's got a short name. Vitoch. Bizok, yeah, something like that. He was good, actually, yeah. He should have been man of the match. Bizok, yeah. Yeah, he was good. Yeah, I think, yeah, sell Martinez, sell... Who else could they get money for from a PSL perspective that doesn't look like that might be a good timing? to be honest. There's a reason in January they were pushing to Arsenal. They offered him to Arsenal didn't they, yeah.
1:21:07True. I think he wants to leave as well. I think he's had enough. Watkins to Arsenal would be pretty... Sell Watkins, sell Martinez, go and get Jackson and yeah, maybe Hoyland on loan. Hoyland on loan, mate. He'd bang. I'm a razzle as Hoyland believer. That wouldn't be that bad. That wouldn't be that bad. That wouldn't be that bad. That wouldn't be that bad. Fulham. Fulham need... They need... Good signing, but bring Harvey Elliott back. Harvey Elliott would be a great signing. They're getting that... Is it Kevin they've been linked to? Yeah, he's Brazilian. I'm not having these Brazilians. With English names, yeah.
1:21:34Kevin's and... Kennedy. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, they're shit, mate. Two Freds, Anthony. I wouldn't sell anyone. They can't afford to sell anyone. What if they sold Rodrigo Meniz? I'd sell Smith-Rose. Who's linked with him? Someone's linked with him. Meniz. Leeds were linked with him for ages. Leeds, that's it, yeah. Because they would... Meniz, Rodrigo Meniz. But they could get good money for him. But then a lot of film fans think he's going to not literally explode this year. He came on a bag to go to the point the weekend, though. You're selling him and your only option is Jimenez. Yeah, right.
1:22:01Yeah, true. For injury-prone. I love Jimenez, but that would be pretty unwise. You can't sell Manees, I don't think. Go and get Hoyland on loan. Surely Fulham. We could, you know, yeah. Arsenal, get Hoyland on loan. Bring Willian back for like the third time in like the last year. No, they should go and get... Harvey Elliott. Sell Smith-Rogue. Who can they? Surely tell Smith-Rogue. Sell Smith-Rogue. He's never fit. Like, he's just... He was fit the weekend. I don't know, but he never looked properly fit. Are you calling him f**k? I'm not a Smith-Rowe believer. I think it's a lot of low-stock hype.
1:22:31Surely the suggestion of Conor Gallagher is not a bad one either then. Who? Yeah. Surely the suggestion of Conor Gallagher is not a bad one. Gallagher would be a great shout out for Fulham. I prefer that to Javier Litt. That's a great shout out for Fulham, Javier Litt. What the fuck am I on about? What am I actually on about? I don't really know what happened there. If we were watching the brain fog, it's a lying person. Just talking bollock. Right, Leeds. I know Leesling oh yeah so well Brighton hey here's my one go on then Buadi oh go on talk to me Buadi Leal Youngster fresh talent to replace Belieber and keep the Brighton conveyor belt going because they sell Belieber for 100 mil and then keep him ticking over I'd sell Belieber and go and get Angel Gomez another Leal midfielder yeah fucking ramaged up Leal no no I was not really like for like just go and sign some unknown Ecuadorian from the third division.
1:23:27It'll be amazing. This is the reason why it will succeed because no one's heard of the guys. Yeah, I am not even going to pretend to know better than Brighton. So just go and sell Belieber. Go and get ridiculous money for Belieber because I know you don't want to sell him and he's great, but you will find someone better. Brighton, you always do. Just go and find fucking someone from Timbuktu who's never kicked a ball in his life and he turns out to be the best holding refielder in the Premier League and sell Belieber for 110 million. I think there's your cash on Belieber, even though he's well good.
1:23:54He's well good But What country do we reckon The next 100 million pounds You take it Ecuador Ghana Ecuador Senegal Senegal actually Senegal Maybe Colombia This time I'm sorry I'm not Maybe Colombia Oh What do you mean About that Right next up We've got Yeah sell Believer Then go and get Some unknown fucker Leeds Don't sell anyone again Yeah don't sell And go and get Go and get Stryker Sell Melie Then buy Melie and sell him again. I actually... That is exactly what Leeds should do. They should fire him into the sun on like a ping pong bat that has their screen. Mate, they've got a good new goal in them.
1:24:34I know, but just for past trauma. I feel sorry for Leeds, right? We're going to get Smellier on like that. Do you know who Leeds... I think Leeds should put their big fucking bollocks on the table and say, we're Leeds United. They've got a lot of money. Go and sign Gerasi. Oh, that would be mega. That was my suggestion for Villa, yeah. Go and throw 60, 70 million. if a promoted team did that mate I've got Angelo in the Saudi league he's a Brazilian winger on the right and he's actually quite good alright we sold him to Saudi but I thought he was quite a good player Arsenal sign Rodrigo sell Yikarez no I'm joking sell Rhys Nelson so mean Nelson's a good shout yeah sell Martinelli apparently Rhys Nelson is on like a hundred grand a week I mean if you're facing the same position then yeah I mean you can afford no but I think you'd want the depth of Martinelli in line.
1:25:23Yeah, Martinelli is good. I think Semenyo can play anywhere in that front three. Madweka can play on the left and the right. Martinelli can play on the left badly. Yeah. Also, what about Trossard to Villa? I forgot about that. That was a little... I feel like they needed depth at nine though, right? But you can do it all. You can play everywhere. If they're lacking... Changes their game a little bit. PSR, yeah, possibly. Possibly. Yeah, Rodrigo, 100%. If you're going to spend like 70 million on Semenyo, go and get Rodrigo for 15 million more. Agree. Because he's so much better. Agree. Is he? Yeah.
1:25:56I don't know. Yeah. I like Semenyo a lot. I like Semenyo. Not like that. What do you mean not like that? How else could that ever be interpreted? Right, Nottingham Forest. Boom! Sell Maranakis. Mr. Maranakis. Buy a treadmill. Whoa! Fat shaming. Fat shaming on pitch side. he's a fat cunt though he's going to copyright this mate I can say that because I'm no longer in Greece while I was there just a side note we went on like a trip to like this lagoon like this Ballos Beach lagoon and on the way the guy's like telling you stuff and Mr. Maranakis owns like nearly all the roads in Greece apparently there's like three or four like multi multi millionaires or billionaires who just own everything that's like all the petrol all the oil or the Rhodes and he mentioned Maranakis and I asked him he was like oh yeah I don't think he knew him through football he was like they all football teams they all own the football teams they own multiple football teams and he's just basically a fucking dictator and I hate him alright there's a part of me that likes that we have like an evil superhero oh no don't yeah he's like he's in the Incredibles I actually yeah I do say it's a Wine Forest fan I do like I think he's a bit like Mourinho I think they're good I think away days now are going to be really fun at points.
1:27:23I think there's been so much going on. He kind of reminds me of the same way I love Verstappen. I think he's good for F1. He's fun. He's a cunt, but he's good for F1. I think Maranakis is fun instead of these owners who are like, oh, I want him to come in. Hold your players hostage. I kind of like it. Make them sign a contract. I love how involved he wants to make himself in all of it. No, but no, he's not because he put his shares into a blind trust so he doesn't actually He doesn't own him. There's no ownership. You know what's going to happen also is you've just spoken really positively about Maranakis.
1:27:56They're not going to... Oh, they'll only... When you called him a fat cat. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That is what they're looking about. The rest of it, they're just going to completely ignore. What about sell Chris Wood now they've signed thingy? Nah, he's inevitable, man. He can't stop the woods yet. He's already under the Golden Boot. Get money for him. Mate, he's going to score 76 goals this season. Get him gone. If I was them, I would sell... I'm selling Moreno. I'd sell Bolli. Get rid of Bolli. Yeah. He's done any now Perena's a good one Sell Bolle And sign What do they need Buy Douglas Ruiz I'd put They've addressed him He's a good shout Oh yeah that's a great shout Yeah Douglas Ruiz 100 % They link with him as well aren't they We're linked with him Or sell that job to Silva He's shit He beat back some goals Last year for them didn't he Against who Brighton Exactly Great No he's fucking shit I'm not having him Or Dennis Get rid of Dennis He's still there I quite like Dennis He's not done anything How long ago was that?
1:28:49No, I know. Watford have sacked 40 managers since then. Do you remember that FPL game week where everyone was like Captain Emmanuel Dennis? Triple Captain Dennis. And he got sent off. Double game week, he got sent off in the first game. Actually, I think he might be... No, I think he's back at... I don't even know if Dennis is back there, but... He was there last season. Just while we're on Nying and Forrest, I feel like we haven't... Oh, here we go. No, I feel like we haven't spoke about them, have we? I do... They were really good the weekend. I will give them their credit. You just said Chris would.
1:29:15I still do think the wheels will come off but what I was impressed with my prediction was they can't just keep countering and they got found out at the back end of last season by Leicester, Everton of Chelsea went there and you can't just sit back against these teams and try and counter however the weekend they did actually take a foot hold of the game I know they're against a poor side a struggling side but I do want to give you credit so you can also fucking message me abuse because it's getting boring you fat fuckers They have a good enough 11 now to take the game to their... Well, you'd like to think so, but Nuno's never proven he can do that.
1:29:54I think when Hudson has always fit, they're a lot more creative. Yeah. Like when it's just the language, it just felt like they were just countery. But I still do think... Hudson, Adoy, and Adoy. Yeah. Yeah, nice. Yeah, so I do... I must admit, I don't actually think they're going to finish the game anymore. The Ellie Anderton pass for Wood's goal where everyone keeps the keep the wards. Yes, incredible. Also, Wood going around a keeper was quite weird to see. The goalie should have done better, though, I thought. Brentford in trouble so I'm not it's kind of like Wolves Man City tax it's like yeah Man City were really good but our Wolves just shit yeah and the Gibbs right assist was brilliant for that header which was unfair great header anyway old school carrying on I just wanted yeah because I knew what it would be you never you only mention when you fucking early doors though early doors it's very early doors and you're still going down that's right next up we've got Liverpool who should they sell Simicast by Gahey yeah I wouldn't sell Simicast but you got Kirk as Ann Roberts I know but did you watch No, no, agreed, but Robertson would be the other one that plays, I think, over Simakas.
1:30:50Yeah, that's probably a good shout-out. That's back on there. Simakas would be a good shout-out to Sal. Maybe look for the Verts receipt. We'll see. That's crazy, by the way. I mean, I said he was a lot of money coming originally, but if he's that good in the first couple games that they've played, I think he'll kick on him. No, he will be good. I'm having a laugh. He's got to take the reins when Salah goes AFCON anyway, doesn't he? if I was there we'll see how good he's who are they going to sign they need a backup striker don't they who Liverpool I've gone with I mean I was thinking he would have been the better shout there I just think I want I want he's out there purely for oh my god what is that going to look like I know what you mean yeah it will be fun to watch just from a football fan perspective of like how does this work on paper how does this work on paper yeah I mean it's Galactico vibes I'll tell you this is going to sound mad Nicholas Jackson wouldn't be a bad signing for them as a backup no not at all I really don't think he'd be bad at all would he?
1:31:48yeah he'd be 70-80 million what? no he will that's crazy he won't be 70-80 million who's paying that? no one surely that's not how much oh you're not selling him then yeah you're not going to get rid of him he will go for 70 no you won't he will look at the market no he'll be paying 70 million for Nicholas Jackson it's like he went for 70 what two years ago and I think people have looked back and said that's overpaid yeah like he's what 24 you're not Nicholas Jackson is not leaving for 70 million. It might be 65, but it will be around that. The same way Pep is still in charge. You still owe me 20 quid for that as well.
1:32:20I do owe you money for that. Who's next? Tartanham. Sign Eze. Sign El Canoes instead and we'll keep Eze. What did I do for Spur? Sign Eze and for Savino. I said sell Basuma. Go for Wharton. They should sell Basuma. Do they need Wharton if they've got Paulinho coming in? I mean, anyone needs Wharton. They don't need him. but it's just like they knew him for the future. Their midfield is actually pretty stacked. Spurs next season should be all in on Watt. There's no way Watt will go to Spurs. No way. No, but they should be in for it. That's what I mean. They should be trying to go in for him. I said that earlier this summer.
1:32:55They were getting all gassed like, oh, Watt and Spurs. I was like, I feel like they just need someone way more creative. I just think Eze couldn't go either, but Watt definitely won't go. Madison's a big loss. Yeah. Yeah, Eze does make sense. He's never really fit either. It makes sense as a signing Eze as much as a pain. In my head, I've experienced he's already at Spurs. He is. He is, yeah. Sunderland. Sunderland. Damn. I think they need a bit more depth at centre-half. Yeah, I was going to say centre-back. I haven't gone with that. I don't have a name. I don't have a name. I put a player with a bit of Premier League experience.
1:33:24Clearly, Xhaka coming across, you know, makes sense. They look better. Free agent, Reguilon. He fits the kit. No, but it doesn't fit their... I know Xhaka's old and whatever, but older, it doesn't fit their type of signings this summer. They've gone for like... Good players. Young, hungry, up and coming. Well, yeah. I think, to be honest, man, I'm just looking at their squad, they've got a lot of players. I think maybe a midfielder, but they've signed another person yesterday. They probably need another keeper and another... Have they signed a keeper this summer or not? It's the defence for some of them.
1:33:59Yeah, they've signed a goalie. No, they've signed a goalie, yeah. I know they kept a clean sheet. That Robin Roos started in there. Paterson was their goalie last year Was it Ballard and 0-9 Played the centre back No, 0-9 didn't play It was Ballard and I think a new signing It was What's his name Again, I don't know any of their new Sealt Sealt Did he really there last year? They started like seven signings Oh no, he was there last year But he didn't really play They should go and get a centre back With Prem experience No, this is what they should Kazuma They should buy Seb Larson again Which is not Seb Larson It's James Ward-Prowse Where's he at the moment?
1:34:33Wait, no Michael Chopra must still be knocking. What's Mal Bronk doing? Is Ward Proulx still at West Ham? He started the weekend. Yeah, but I think if they go for Ward Proulx, those red and white nets getting free kicks thrown in the mic, I like that. Another free agent that I did see. He's been on the free agent list. Yeah, because the Cubs don't have to buy players. Yeah, they've got money though. Lindelof. That's actually decent. I like that shout. I thought Lindelof's a bit on the radio. That's what I mean, that's the issue. It's also got that lineage of Wes Brown, John O'Shea. Johnny Evans.
1:35:06Johnny Evans. Johnny Evans went on loan. Again, I'm very up to date with the latest transfer news. I've seen they're apparently getting this centre-back from a Serie A team. I can't remember. Lusumi. They signed someone yesterday. Lusumi. Yeah. This centre-back. And people are like, oh my God, he's actually unreal. How the hell have you managed to get him? HTO said he's good, so that means he's good. Yeah, he must be good there. And finally, Manchester City. I'd cash in on Savino and go and get oh I'd put sell Edison I'd put sell Kovacic buy Livramento Livramento would be great for them yeah Emi Martinez or Donnarumma I suppose you can just sign Emi Martinez fuck off Reeve why is that crazy what's wrong why is that I don't want to reuse Donnarumma it's washed it's not that bad and it'd be I'd rather have Trafford I'd rather have Trafford exactly you've got another good keeper a second fuck you I'm fucking fat odd Why?
1:36:02The problem is if they sign Donnarumma The problem is they sign Donnarumma Donnarumma plays first and Trafford plays second which doesn't really solve the issue of Trafford as they wanted to play Trafford will be their number one this season Yeah I thought That's what I mean I thought he did So you just got to sign a keeper Do you know I didn't realise how big he was That's what I thought I have a vision of James Trafford as a little like dweeb in goal I thought he's actually bulked up by a lot He's 6 '6 Is he actually? James Trafford is 6 '6 I was watching him over the other day and they brought it up and I was like, nah, he's not.
1:36:31And they checked it. Will, double check that. James Trafford is six foot six. Nearly the same height as Fraser Fawcett. This is one of those illusions. It's like when you find out Luke Shaw's over six foot. Fucking hell. Yeah. He's not. Why? It's fucking massive. He's always two meters tall. Six foot six. That is insane. I didn't realise that. In my head he's like five, ten. And he's agile as fuck. He's a kepper in my head. Yeah. I know what he means. His arms aren't really big enough. He's not. You know what I mean? Right then. Anyway. What an opening weekend of footy, eh? Yeah, and all the Premier League players and teams that watch this, we've solved all your issues.
1:37:05Yeah, well, I don't mind that. I mean, Albion, who've we got the weekend? Portsmouth, probably another three points. We'll probably be nine points from nine. Is it a home game? None of you lot can say that. Yeah, I'm going to go. I think I might go up, actually. Fuck it. Because I can. Well, all these teams would have only played two games. Yeah, but you won't be 100 % like we are. You cannot be. Well, I can't. You don't think we'll beat Leeds at home? Whoa. Don't know. Okay, right. Not if... What's his name? Not if Yock Lesnar is up front. Yock Lesnar. Right. Anyway, guys, thank you so much for tuning in as per usual.
