In short

World Cup call-in show focused on England’s Round of 16 win vs Mexico at the Azteca, beer “beer battle” guesses, and predictions for upcoming knockout matches (England vs Spain; Norway vs England/other bracket talk). Also discusses Sweden’s World Cup run under Graham Potter and debates Spain’s quality.

Guests/backgrounds

Callers include John (argues England’s run/media narrative is overrated), Henrik (Sweden supporter; admits being wrong about England; discusses Sweden vs France and Potter’s system), Ryan (argues Spain are overrated/France/England/Argentina better; also discusses Belgium), plus recurring “friend of the show” Blackhawm Tobe and Callum Skyvin.

Key claims

England’s Mexico win was historic and atmosphere-driven (altitude, 10 men, decisive moments). Jude Bellingham’s tournament form is world-class; Anthony Gordon was pivotal (penalty won, penalty taken). Media overhypes England as underdogs; conditions at the Azteca matter. Sweden: defensive frailties under Potter; content with progress. Spain: debate whether they’re underrated (no goals conceded) or overrated (boring/no firepower).

Notable examples

Bellingham tackle/save sequences; Gordon’s penalty; England’s “bang-bang” after conceding; Pickford saves; Mexico’s red-card moment; Sweden vs France; Haaland scoring/knockout goals; Spain’s clean defensive record and Yamal fitness; predictions like 2-1 England and France-England final.

1:12Callum Skyvin again. Let's dock his wages. Right, up first, we've got the beer battle. Bring it on. I don't know if you saw the last one. We got it, well, I got it bang on. Did you? Yeah, it was France, Sweden. Sweden, yeah. It was a copper, a recorder league and a Cronenberg and I called it. Oh, recorder leagues. That did give it away, yeah, it did give it away. For this one, this has been played. This game has been played. Obviously, we're in the tournament now, so. Ooh. This game has been played. Only last four days, I think. Ooh, I know that smell. Mine's a bit woke. I know that smell. I know what two is.

1:53I don't know, I know the taste of two. What? I remember, Two feels like something I've ordered and then gone, I'm not ordering that yet. Two feels like, that smells like... A bit woke. Like an ale. It's a bit brew dog. Oh, yeah. Yes. It's a bit woke. I could just say something about it. IPA-ish, yeah. It doesn't taste like, it doesn't smell like a lager. See, one's a drink. One's a drink. I can drink that. Oh, you're so right. That's an IPA. It's woke nonsense. That's an IPA. And then... What would Brewdog be made? Where would that be? Oh my God, it's fucking England, Mexico. That's England, Mexico.

2:35I think that's a Modelo or a Corolla. That could be... What, one? I've been drinking a lot of Modelo's the last few days, so... I don't know if you know, guys. I went to Mexico. One's just a warm lager. The problem is, when they're not cold, they fuck me up because I don't drink lukewarm beer. You don't? I don't, guys. I think that could be England, Mexico Brewdog is English, isn't it? I think so He's Scottish Oh my god He's Scottish Could that be Blue Moon? Belgian Belgian, Spain No, sorry, Belgium, USA Could that be like a shitty Brewdog is Scottish, by the way Brewdog's Scottish Yeah, I thought he was Scottish What's Blue Moon?

3:21Is Blue Moon Belgian? I know it's a Belgian That could be a bud. That could be a bud, couldn't it? That could. I think that could be USA-Belgium. Go on. What's he saying? That feels more right to me than England-Mexico. Yeah, Belgian, yeah. Blue Moon. I think that's a blue... Oh, where would you get Blue Moon here, though? I feel like it doesn't come in... Anyway, we'll get back to this at the end of the show. At the minute, I think this could be USA-Belgium. I like the idea of that being bud. That makes sense to me. Yeah. Because it just tastes like a warm, okay-ish lager. Yeah. Whereas two, two tastes woke.

3:55anyway let's talk about England how was that by the way it was one of the few games I've ever felt properly jealous of from an England point of view yeah I will be honest quite literally the best game I've ever been to best experience of my life I can't believe how lucky I am to have experienced Mexico in the Azteca what's amazing about it is obviously you go there with so much expectations the whole build up by the way the Mexican people are fucking unbelievable but they're so like the hospitality was unbelievable like so friendly before and after the game the best people in the world during the game hostile as fuck but we were surrounded by Mexicans and they're actually sailing with us exactly I could see how certain games could get tasty there though with not the separation of the fans especially when obviously there was probably 5 ,000 England there out of 80 odd thousand like it was in fairness to them I'm surprised there wasn't more yeah I'd never make it in the crowd he said there was when Bentley's just going like that yeah yeah you're gonna die he's going fucking wanker but yeah no it was funny because all the build up like we met up with Rory and that and then like Parsons and Oscar from the stomping ground and then obviously Chip, Cal AB and Harry were out there and the whole whole few days before we all kept saying I actually can't believe we're gonna watch England at the Aztec against the Mexicans like we built it up so much a part of me thought this is going to be a nil-nil shit and then the game was probably the best game of the whole World Cup it was one of the best games I've ever been to it's the best atmosphere and the best stadium the final should be there it is like genuinely after the game my head was fucking pounding I didn't even go out after what from the altitude?

5:43I don't know the altitude is bad by the way it is fucking tough but just the noise I can't describe it. Anyway, go and watch the vlog on Tom Gowat Vlogs on YouTube because it's fucking all-timer. But yeah, it was very rarely do games live up to what you build up in your head, do they? Obviously, you go to games, you know. And for it to not only deliver, to exceed it tenfold, and obviously England win, which helps. And then just the Mexican people. I've never seen so many people be so nice after a game where you've beat them in their home. and they were literally going, bring it home. They were throwing you up in the air, weren't they?

6:22Oh, mate, yeah. Because it was like a 40-minute walk. You couldn't get anywhere near the stadium. We had to walk right out to get a taxi we'd booked. And they were throwing each other up in the air and then they clocked my England shirt and they were like, Anglidera, Anglidera, Anglidera. And I was like, oh, fuck's sake. And I heard them speaking in Spanish and I stupidly thought in my head, I was like, they're planning to drop me. Stupid, I know. Obviously, they were just really nice people, but everyone walking out the stadium I couldn't believe how many Mexicans knew who I was. Really? Mental, like pitch side fans are absolutely unbelievable.

6:56Yeah, just, yeah. I don't know how to ramble on, but quite literally the best thing I've ever done and I cannot believe I was there. And shout out, Pat. It felt that way at home though. What? Like, to me, it was my favourite England game. Oh, yeah. Like, people might say, I don't know, German in the Euros. I thought we'd beat German in the Euros. Like, Mexico going down to 10. You didn't think we'd win that? Do you know what's... I thought... I was so confident. I think we're going to do it maybe next time. I was so confident the whole way through. And I'll be honest, obviously it was shit in the stadium because we had no idea what was going on.

7:30So I was texting the lads, being like, is it a red? Was it a penalty? Yeah, yeah. That's probably my first experience. I've been to a couple of games with VAR. That's the first one I've actually experienced where shit's happened. And I'm like, this is, what the fuck's going on? No one knows what's going on. Yeah. but I never felt like we were going to concede I don't know I don't know if that was just blind confidence don't get me wrong I nearly had a heart attack when the red happened it was like the PTSD of we grew up with Rooney against Portia yeah true obviously before that it was like Beckham against Argentina yeah it's been a historic feeling you're going to get the red and the tournament goes up in flames so like there was that element but when Gordon won that pet that was the moment that was like yes I was more worried you know the 10 minutes before half time we just kept saying we need half time so badly like the Pickford save by the way the Jude Bellingham tackle that was his hat trick oh my fucking god I couldn't believe how good that was it didn't look like he had got it he just looked like the Mexican had missed it and then when you see yeah oh no in this no we could tell oh you could we were we were right at the top but it's such a good view I think there was a couple of England fans next to me went as he missed that and I was like Jude's fucking just blocked that I didn't realise he'd I thought he'd blocked it.

8:45I didn't think he kicked it. But, oh, mate, yeah, Jude Bellingham, by the way. Well, we said before we didn't win the tournament, I think the last time I was on here, you and me spoke about Jude Bellingham. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, by the way, Rodgers could have done this.

9:01Technically, how do you know we were wrong? I was watching that clip and I was like, at the time, we're not wrong. No, no, no, no, we are. No, we're wrong now. What I was going to say is, if he played like this, we wouldn't have been saying that. He has been absolutely... This is the best tournament I've seen from an individual for England. Oh, by far. That, I'd go as far to say, in my lifetime, that's the best performance I've ever seen in an English shirt Bellingham the other night. I don't think that's unfair. I don't know if it came across on the TV, because of our view, mate, he was dead on his feet, and he just kept sprinting, making runs to block...

9:36Because when they took Kane off, I did think, oh, fuck, he must be... And Bellingham went up front on his own, didn't he? because he brought Rogers on for Kane. And I thought, oh God, mate. And you seen him collapse at the end. I think, didn't he run like 12K or something? And I'm telling you, I know we've all laughed and joked about it. We went genuinely walking up to the seat. We were like panting out of breath. The attitude, it is tough there. Like the air is just... What's all the journalists doing? 5Ks and all that. But Anthony Gordon. He was unreal. Unreal. So good. And do you know what was really kind of the turning point for him in the game?

10:11There's one instance, he got it and kind of just kicked it and beat and he got to the ball and then we either won I think we either won a corner or something happened and he mentally went I've got him I've got the beating of him and it kind of just accelerated and he did so well for the penalty I thought he was awesome big Dan Byrne was quality when he Jed Spence was good when he come on as well I just thought Pickford was quality I just thought to a man Declan Rice for the first goal he's such a good team goal isn't it it's a fucking and I've seen the Mexican manager come out and he was like he was quality though oh yeah it's very funny and to be fair they give us our credit but he said oh we made two mistakes and they capitalised I don't know what mistake they made for the first goal it's an unbelievable team goal and Kane drags the man away and then Bellingham makes an unbelievable run I just thought and then the bang bang just yeah and it killed the stadium so when they scored all you could hear was this goal music and this like a penny drop when they scored we literally went oh we've let them back in just before half time like if we'd have got to half time 2-0 I don't think they'd have scored but what do you think about the decisions I thought we got them all spot on I agree the only one that wasn't was actually you know their first goal Saka didn't fail the blow no yeah we didn't realise that that's not a VAR one I know what you mean other than that I thought the red as soon as he did it I went ooh that looked a bit we played on for a while their reaction do you know what was hilarious about that their reaction I always say you can tell by players reactions their bench and the crowd by there went mad.

11:43Yeah. Then obviously we went up the other end and Gordon did unbelievably and won a free kick just outside the box, didn't he? And they were all like celebrating and go, and then the ref was like, oh, I'm going to go. And we're like, what the fuck? But then I saw it back and oh my God. You can't really, you can't make any complaints. So he didn't, he didn't need to do it either. I don't think he meant it. He didn't mean it. It was a tackle that matched the occasion though. Yeah. Like he played the occasion. He got suckered in by just the feeling of the game, which can happen. And he'd had a good game up to that point.

12:11so I wasn't like I wasn't fuming about it didn't I? I thought like it's like the penalties as well both of them are pens yeah Gordon's the best diver I've ever seen though by the way that wasn't a dive no no not a dive but like he will earn contact whatever he's doing I do agree with that but I think for the penalty that's genuinely just yeah that's clear but the difference is you know with Kane's better no the Congo game where Kane Kane should have won a pen with that but instead he made it an obvious dive Gordon wins a pen there yeah I know what you mean I do know what you mean like he just he just buys contact so well but yeah I mean Bellingham wow oh he was a joke but the thing is I said this on Pitchhead I am more like I'm not I'm not here going off fucking I'm so happy he's proving me wrong I'm so so happy that this bloke is as is way better than I give him credit for and also in fairness when I think about it how often do I watch Jude Bellingham not that often Chambizzi Chambizzi the odd old And I don't think, well, I'm not even going to get into it because then it seems like we're trying to defend that.

13:15We were absolutely miles off it and I couldn't be happier that we're miles off it because he's not overrated. He's absolutely world-class and I think he's been top three, four players at the World Cup so far. Yeah, he's with Mbappe and Messi. Yeah. It's that group for me. But I think Bellingham has more, he has less round him than Alise and, do you know what I mean? and I think because I think Kane has goals in the tournament Kane's been amazing but he doesn't carry the team yeah it's a different feeling Bellingham's had to play in the 8 in the 10 he's all out to midfielder he reminded me it was Keane Gerrard Lampard like the other night the way he was playing like he just covered everything he's been unreal yeah I mean if you're watching us for us to be right on every opinion yeah I mean and also realistically there's probably a high chance Jude saw that and now that's why he's playing well so England fans you're welcome that's all I'm saying Maybe we just know how to get the best out of certain players.

14:10Call me fucking Ancelotti. Well, he can't. They're fucked. No, he just raises an eye. But Mourinho used to tell certain players you're brilliant. He tells certain players he goes, you're not. Are we Mourinho? Well, look, for two years, all I'm saying is everyone was up his arse and he weren't performing. I mean, you and me went, everyone's up his arse. I must admit, again, I haven't watched a lot of Madrid in La Liga this season, but I've obviously watched him in Champions League when he's been fitting. He has had an on-off, like he hasn't had a good season for his level that he has. Do you know what I mean?

14:41No, it took us saying the truth to wake him up, didn't it? Well, yes, you're welcome. And Jude, I apologise. I love you. What a player. I love you. Right, let's get the first caller in. Hello, John. Welcome to the calling show. You've got Sammy Gennett and Tobes here. What do you want to say? I want to say that England have had the easiest run to the final ever. and this whole story around them is so overrated. Okay. I mean, I know we've got to discuss this because it's part of the show, but a part of me just want to say, so, what can we do about that? Yeah, did England do the draw? No, but I think, no, no, no.

15:23But I'm saying like the way the media is making it is that England, like this win over Mexico was so amazing. It is. It is. It's not though. It is though, mate. They're a top 10 nation in the world. Probably because they played on a mountain. Yeah, mate, it matters. It's really hard to play there when you're not from that neck of the woods. It's very difficult. The same way lads from South America struggle in England sometimes because of the weather and stuff. It does matter. Why do you think... Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You can talk when I'm finished. Don't worry. Why do you think they've got such a good record there?

15:53Why do you think they're so hard to beat there? Why do you think they didn't concede a goal leading up to England? Look, man for man, they can't talk to England. Everyone knows that. But you play the conditions. There was also 80 ,000 screaming. Like, it matters, mate. The atmosphere, the conditions, they do matter to games. Let them turn men for almost a whole time. Yeah, they actually played, though, in their undefeated run. Who, England? No, Mexico. Like, they're undefeated. Everyone before the World Cup had Ecuador as the dark horses. They splattered them. Yeah, they beat Ecuador. And bear in mind, Ecuador did Germany.

16:26You know, they're obviously a decent side. And they made mincemeat of them. Yeah, but no, I still think... The gap, though, the gap from England to Mexico is so big that it doesn't matter. No, no, no. Yeah, but that gap closes with the conditions and it being an away game. Surely you understand that. No, I can see that. But I honestly think your performance against Croatia was more impressive than Mexico. It wasn't, no. But they show the dichotomy of how this England team can play. Like, you can play. If you want to go all guns blazing, England will take them to the sword in terms of Croatia. But equally, if they want to sit back and Dan Byrne just headed everything out, they can do that as well.

16:58Yeah. So it's the fact that this England side has shown they can do everything. What? Who's Mexico's best player, has he? Probably that young lad, isn't it? Or that Quinn Ones. Yeah, Quinn Ones it is, right. But again, we're not denying the fact England, they haven't got one player who would probably get in our squad. We don't deny that. But it's a team game, isn't it? They are a good team, Mexico. Why do you think they're ranked like 10th in the world? It's not by accident. The rankings changed during the World Cup, though. The teams that were ranked top 10 have fallen out of top 10. Well, yeah, because teams like Germany have lost to Paraguay, but then Mexico have beat teams like Ecuador.

17:33Ecuador lost twice in qualifying. Twice. They conceded, what, four goals. They finished above Brazil in qualifying. They got two goals against them. And Mexico beat them very comfortably. And again, a lot of that was down to scoring an early goal. England come out with a game plan. First 20, 30 minutes, just nullify them. And then we scored two goals back to back. And then even with 10 men, go three, one up, and then hold out as you do, because when you've got 10 men and they were all absolutely dead on their feet. I don't know how you can criticise that performance. I don't think that shows how bad...

18:06No, I'm not criticising the England performance. I'm criticising how bad Mexico are in comparison to England. But why is that England's fault? It's not England's fault, but the way the media's react... I like England. I want England to win the World Cup, by the way, just as a thing. But when Gary Nivel and Ian Wright are saying this is the best performance since 1966... It is. Name a better World Cup performance England have had. Our bar isn't exactly high I said before I think the Croatia game Was more impressive No no no See You're missing the point An opening game In a group stage Isn't the same As a last 16 Away from home In the Azteca With 10 men Who isn't away from home Except Mexico Like there's the one team That aren't away from home Like What Well yeah exactly England have You were away from home Against Croatia You're ignoring the context mate No what are you on about You tit We're not playing it In fucking split Are we It's the first time England have ever knocked out a home nation.

19:01We've never done that. It's unprecedented for England. No, no, no. But I still think the gap is so big that it doesn't matter. But it does. It does. Because if that game's at Wembley, England probably win 2 or 3-0. OK, but in terms of the teams in the World Cup right now, where do you think England are in terms of favourites to win? I think we're third favourites. Third or fourth? Yeah, I think you're third or fourth. No, third or fourth. I think France, Spain, maybe Argentina. No, there's no... still performance against Argentina or against Egypt and you think that Argentina will win. No, but it's the Messi factor and it's the fact they're world champions and it's the fact they just keep getting it done.

19:37They have that mentality, don't they, the Argentinians. Again, not everything's about player for player. The Argentinians weren't the best man-for-man team at the last World Cup and they won it. And unfortunately, when you have that freak in their team, they've got an X-factor where they can win any game. I'd fancy England to beat Argentina, but England are probably, on the bookies, they're probably four favourites. I'd imagine. But not everything's about, oh, man for man. Brazil had the best team in the 06 World Cup and they got knocked out in the quarterfinals. It's a team game. You have to be a team.

20:14But I still think England's team is so much better than Argentina. Yeah, I agree. I think we'd beat them, but I'm telling you, I think Argentina would go into that game favourites. I don't think Argentina would even beat Norway. I think Norway are more likely to beat Argentina I think you're I think you've got to watch Messi what he does in these moments though yeah if they play yeah I know but that's what I'm saying they can play as poorly as you might perceive them to play but he'll find a way of getting them through they've got know-how like you said they're inferior to France at the last World Cup France had a better squad at the last World Cup I honestly think you guys build this like safety net so it's like even if you lose it's like we thought you were going to lose anyway no no no I'm telling you right now the only team I think will beat England I think France and Spain would probably be I think we beat Argentina we're just it's not a safety net we're just being honest like what do you want us to say we'll beat everyone because we're better that's just delusion you should no but it's not the only teams that you like aren't favourites against I think are Spain or France right yeah and even Spain haven't looked that good what but like have Spain ever conceded a goal bro who hasn't bro Mexico didn't concede a goal until what until you guys played them and you smoked them in their backyard on their mountain.

21:25What's that got to do with... Yeah, but they're out. Spain are in the quarter-vinals without casino goal, playing Portugal. Spain haven't broke out of second gear. And Yamal's barely fit. Yeah, that's what I mean. Yamal's barely even done anything and they're just cruising every single game. France are blitzing every single team. We haven't shown quite the same level. Roger looks back to his best. Like, Spain look good. As happy as I am this tournament, defensively, we have looked suspect. Oh, yeah, 100%. We can be got at. Yeah, definitely. But then we can hurt teams as well. Yeah, that's why the Argentina-Inguid game would be all-timer.

21:52So what are you trying to get? You're saying the media are going over the top. It's not necessarily about you. I think the media, I just think the consensus that England was somehow being perceived as underdogs against Mexico was outrageous. Who perceived that? It was sick. When you were watching the game... Mate, you don't understand how high up that hill is. Mate, I'll tell you what, I was out of breath walking to my seat, son. Big hill. That's all I'm saying. I've seen Gilly climb up hills bigger than that, bro. The air is thin, mate. Paper thin. It's a tough gig. Tough gig. They've got mountains here, bro.

22:31I know what a mountain is. You see their record? Yeah, but how many of those mountains have stadiums in it where you play football? You've never seen the Wellington Stadium on a rainy night, bro? Yeah, you boys are fucking garbage. Let's not get into that. Yeah, I don't think you support them, by the way. Right, so let's wrap it up. Where do you think England are going to end up finishing in the World Cup? I think England are going to win the World Cup. Good lad. I think you guys need to have the, like, I don't know, like the mindset of you guys are better than everyone. Instead of this like, oh, we're playing mixed corner here.

23:01We kind of did have that mentality for so long, especially our generation. We grew up with, oh, we're the golden gen. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The air of humility is quite a new one for England. Yeah. Play it down. We're just happy to be there. And also like, happens it's we we have been built up with disappointment and failures against fucking average teams a lot of the time england so forgive us for being a little bit pessimistic but i don't i think most people thought we'd win that game the other day so i don't know i think i don't think there was an england fan that didn't think england have a better team than mexico yeah everyone's a bit skeptical like it's a lot of their fans it's thick air whatever go on what's the highest mountain in the UK sorry Ben Nevis Snowden I don't know Ben Nevis your mate Rory talks about what we're talking about if you stack two Ben Nevis's on each other and play it's like it's different though like that's not how it actually feels yeah but Rory's got to sell you the fear can I ask you a question have you ever been to Mexico City yeah yeah yeah I lived in America for a bit and I've been to Mexico on holiday but yeah have you been to Mexico City yeah yeah yeah I've been to that stick before did you not you didn't think there was any issue with the altitude in that I didn't but professional football players I don't think it's like we they literally Anthony Gordon literally come out and said for the first 20 minutes he couldn't catch his breath so Anthony Gordon's a pussy bro like that's all it is he was one of the best players on the pitch you silly Aussie fuck not even a family one he's Kiwi yeah he's Kiwi right anyway thanks for calling in buddy we'll maybe get you on when England win it in a bit it is funny though I mean I understand it's just football and it you can never win though if England would have gone into that game going easy everyone would have gone arrogant bastards it's such a tough place you've got to look at their record which I think some people did and then we win get real excited it's a fucking and also fuck you trying to police have fun it's an unbelievable result and if you don't agree with that you can suck a fart out my arse it was it was all timer it felt like it bashed against the ball 10 men I would love anyone to tell me, in my lifetime, a better England World Cup win than that.

25:11And the only one I'll possibly concede is Colombia, because it got us over the penalty hump. Yeah, because pens we never win. And in the same way with this, we never win with red card. It was a cross-ass order. But I like the fact it was in this historic Aztec stadium. Last time, hand of God was that last game we played there pretty much. Yeah, everything about it was just perfect. It was fucking unbelievable. And you said that sucker punch of scoring two. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was so... Well, I did because we were still fucking doing the darts chant when Kane went through. And I'm like, oh my fucking God, they're going to score again?

25:42That might be one of the most underrated or slept on things in football, a quick double goal when you're still celebrating. I mean, again, you could barely catch your breath there, guys. The altitude is fucking really tough. So, yeah, right. What have we got next then? Right, next up we've got a friend of the show. we could say as a friend of the show. Oh, is it Henrik? Oh. Right. Oh, I'm excited for this one, guys. We have got back a friend of the show. And I'll tell you what, there's going to be some humble pie eaten here. Henrik, how are we, buddy? I'm not too bad. How are you, bud? Good, mate.

26:23Good. Henrik, we couldn't remember. Was Toby on the first time you called up? Yeah, it was Toby the first time. Ah. Okay. Yeah, because he was telling us how good Sweden were and they were going to go further than England because they had all that firepower. Oh, Yacht Lesnar. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Any thoughts, mate? I'll let you take it away. Go on. What do you want to say? I mean, this could be a quick call. It could just be a quick, I'm really, really sorry, guys. It could be a text. I don't know if you'll get that out of me, but I think, to be fair, I've been massively actually impressed by England.

26:57I didn't think I would be. Yeah, it's almost like Panama. that it doesn't matter does it when you cover when they come up against the big boys mate that's when fucking Jude and Harry Kane come out the shell don't they but let's talk about let's talk about Sweden let's talk about Sweden uh because you in fairness I will I will concede you did go through which I said you wouldn't you got the point against Japan which I thought was a decent result and in fairness that France are unbelievable aren't they and it could it could have been 10 couldn't it? Like they were insane. How are you feeling about, I mean, Graham Potter?

27:34Yeah, no, not so much Graham Potter but how are you feeling? Are you kind of, I don't know, what's the word? Are you, not happy but are you content, not contempt, what's the word? Content. Content, yeah, are you content with how the Swedes got on? Yeah, I mean I think, I think I'm happy with where we got up to obviously what I'd like to see us go further and I did, I think we could, yeah. I think there's now we've seen a lot more under this Potter system and what sort of style he's going to play and the plays he's going to select, I think we've seen massive defensive frailties. I mean, I know we sort of alluded to the fact, you know, in the first couple of episodes that that was going to be the case.

28:13But I didn't expect quite how much it was going to be. I didn't expect us to put up a fight against France because I don't think anyone in this tournament will until the final comes around, to be honest. Yeah, I think that's... I think Spain will be a good game. I do think, though, mate, in fairness, in that game, there were a couple of moments when Xokarez could have... He had two good chances, didn't he, against the French? And that firepower just didn't hit like you thought. It was quite funny seeing him defend Mbappe 1v1. I must admit, I actually felt a bit sorry for him. That's not even your bag, mate.

28:48What are you doing there, you know? Yeah, I see that. Gary never come out after being like, you've got to show him down the line. Are you joking? Like Jokeres is going to know what to do there. So go on. Let's talk about England. What has impressed you since last time we phoned up? Because, I mean, we're going to have a nice conversation. I'm not going to tell you I told you so, but I did tell you so. But I told you we didn't want to peak in the group stage. It's going to be a slow peak. What two, she was going to get us there. Is it the Mexico game that you thought? Because I can't remember. Did you?

29:18I can't remember if you were the one who said we'd lose. Yeah, I said, I did think you'd think you'd go out. I just think I mean not that he cares about my opinion but I've been No don't say that you're a friend of the show mate we care we care No just to everyone I've been saying how I didn't think Judo's going to do anything this tournament I thought Rodgers should start over Mate how the hell did you come out That's a crazy opinion That's a crazy opinion You thought Rodgers should start over Velligan If you thought that I mean what are you doing on here Yeah no welcome to the club mate and I can't we were just saying this before we got the callers in, we are so happy how wrong we were about Jude.

29:57He's just an absolute phenomenon. So what do you think about the weekend? Are you backing us to lose again? No, do you know what? I think I've been saying this to a few of the guys I'm friends with. I think I've obviously been in England for a long time. Yeah. And when we're not in the competition, obviously I'd love to England score and win it. Oh, good man. I've never been in... I've never felt this. I think there's a real togetherness, not just in the players and the coaching and in the fans as well, especially with all the Wonderwalls, I think. Yeah. Is that on a John Stones clip? I do slightly disagree with that, though.

30:34I think there has been that togetherness for the last three tournaments. I think Southgate built that. But I'll tell you what the difference is. I do think the Tuchel factor, or Tuchel, however you want to say it. Yeah. I'll be honest, leaving that ground the other day, I don't know if it's I don't know the adrenaline or the endorphins we did say I think that's a game we'd have folded like Red Hot Mars you'd look back on and go that's where we won it but again the French are just so but I thought I just think everything Tuchel's done so far has just been been right he showed this game he was like that's why I took Dan Byrne and that's why I took Jed Spence everyone I spoke to before the game was slagging Jed Spence off I'm like he's here he wasn't here to start he started kind of by accident he is here for when we come up against I don't know Dembele in the last 20 minutes just go and man that's why he's here he's not here to fucking score his goals down the other end and that's why Dembele was here yeah exactly so what do you think the score is going to be Saturday mate I think it'll probably be I think I'm going with 2-1 to you guys I think Dembele is going to be a massive factor do you reckon I think you'll get minutes especially with because they're playing Saul off on the right hand side Yeah, mental.

31:48Good winger. Mental. I don't know how Oscar Bob don't start over him. Oscar Bob did well for one of the goals. Yeah, he did. With the height of Nico O 'Reilly and if Dan Byrne ends up on that left-hand side centre-half, potentially. Yeah. O 'Reilly's getting closer and closer to a goal as well. He's hit the post, hit the bar. Yeah, I've got just a little one. Henrik, if you ever like having a little flutter, I don't know if you do or don't, but Anthony Gordon will score on Saturday. Do you think? I am. Well, I've seen the light, mate. I've just seen it. I've seen the vision. and where do you think England are going to how do you think we'll finish mate where do you think we're going to win it semi-finals runners up I think you'll get to the final and it's a flip of a coin I think whoever goes through out of you in Norway will get to the final do you know what I agree with him no not Norway I just think Messi will just find a way against Norway but I think we'll beat Argentina I think we'll beat Argentina but I'd be worried I think I'd rather is it crazy to say I'd rather play France I think France I think France anyway Henry thanks for calling up again buddy we'll try and get you back on in a few weeks after england have won it and you can just say look i'm not a swede anymore i'm english all right mate enjoy not everything has to be like hateful and bitter you come on he's like yeah do you know what lads i got it wrong and like it's football isn't it he was back in his country he thought sweden would like that i don't mind a bit of blind illusion to your team i don't get it and he can laugh about That's part of the point.

33:14You can laugh at yourself. You've got to fumble. You don't need to abuse people on Twitter. All right. You fucking freaks into that. So just a quick previous chat, D. I will be honest. I don't think this is easy at all. No. Because, like we discussed, I think Norway are really good. It's a good, like, cog. Good team. I think they're beatable, definitely. I think they can be got that. But they are a goal threat. And we do give up chances. and I think the chances Jimenez miss the other day or hurt us with I think Haaland gets one or two of them and if we score two or more we'll win though I do agree but I think they definitely score I do but I also look at it I go Christian Aya I know but like look before the tournament if I told you we have Norway in the quarters you'd have bit my hand yeah yeah yeah don't get me wrong the good team good team no I think we had better chance against Brazil than Norway and I know that should make sense Norway not at Brazil but looking at it I was like I know it's Brazil by name but we'll beat Brazil Norway I'm like that could be a banana skin Brazil still have that X factor of play and in fairness they did miss a lot of chances Norway've got the X factor of a Haaland True but Haaland Haaland needs them created for him usually I mean I know that goal the other day was fucking unbelievable by the way the header oh mate that is and the other goal I know yeah but me as someone who grew up trying to be a forward bullying fuck and by the way he's not even good in the air Sorry, it's not one of his main strengths, is it heading?

34:42I wouldn't say, even though how big he is. I think both goals weren't his biggest strengths. No, yeah. That's how the boxing doesn't really do too much. But do you know what? We write it up like it's a rivalry, this Gabriel Harlan thing. It's very one-sided. Yeah, I mean... Every game he bitches him. And also, I think I spoke with Callum about this, Harlan. It is actually getting to the point now where he's just one of the best strikers of all time because he does it everywhere. Salzburg, Dortmund, Man City. Oh, well, anyone would score that many goals for Man City. Norway. Yeah. He scored seven goals at the World Cup.

35:18He scored as many goals in this World Cup, his first World Cup, as Ronaldo's done in five or six. Ronaldo was on eight going into this World Cup. Or seven. No, no. Seven going into this World Cup, yeah. He was on six, I think. I think he's now on seven. Either way, yeah. Either way. In and around. It's fucking bar, mate. Mate, he's got how many knockout? He's already got three knockout goals. Because it's not even like, do you know what? Yeah, he farmed against a Panama. Yeah. It's like, no, he's knocked out single-handedly Brazil. Yeah. He did that. Beat Senegal. They beat Ivory Coast. Yeah, fair play to the Norwegians.

35:51And Fred, anyone who's an old-school TG fan, La Masala podcast, Fred, our roommate, he's been getting cheeky in the chat. He's getting very cheeky. He's a Norwegian. He's getting very cheeky in the chat. he's saying should we read out what he said Friedrich Bental I just think though in this game I don't think he thinks they're going to win no actually he said good luck mate we're never going home imagine you lose going to be so embarrassing and I went are you going to do that rowboat thing when we smash you 4-1 I think because you know Jude and Kane have been doing group celebrations a lot they should row only if it's like 2 or 3-0 No, I do it.

36:36Or do they? Ooh, I like that. That's a good one. Just fly Lewis Skelly over. Let's get Lewis Skelly out. Lewis Skelly can run on the door. Call him up. Right, let's get another caller on. Hello, Ryan. Welcome to the Callie Show. You're here with the big TG and Toes. What do you want to talk about, brother? I want to talk about Espanol. Oh, viva España. Talk to me, brother. I think that you and a lot of people are overrating Spain. What do you mean, you people? What do you mean by that? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Cancel. I just think. No, go on, carry on. I'm with the uncancellable man. Correct.

37:24I just think that I think that France, we all know how good France is. Yeah. France, England, and then Argentina are all better than Spain. And I even think they might get knocked out by Belgium. Ooh. Okay, can you tell me, give me your reasons why you think this. Do you want me to start with Belgium? Because that's the other person. Yeah, start with Belgium. Because I don't know what you've seen from Belgium to make you think they can beat Spain. They've been shocking most of the tournament. It was funny, that USA. Oh, brilliant. It was funny. I couldn't have been happier. It was so good being an Aussie as well.

38:03So go on then, what makes you think the Belgians can beat them? Because I haven't seen anything to suggest they can. Well, I think, minus in the group stage, the knockouts have actually been all right. No, they haven't. That's second half against Senegal. They were shocking against Senegal. Second half against Senegal threw them that game. They were shocking second half. It was only the last ten minutes. They literally come out of nowhere with two goals. And at the end of extra time, they just gave them a pen. Belgium were not the better team against Senegal. Senegal should have gone through in that.

38:30Like, Sars go. Oh, here we go. He didn't watch it. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I won't lie. One of my main notes, I don't actually think, I'm not saying Belgium are like unreal. I'm more on the opposite. I'm saying Spain just aren't that good. All right, why? Well, they've got defence. You are. They've got defence. That's it. They've got nothing up top. What about Rodri? Pedri. Your mom. How's that going to help you? This dude in Kane. Yeah, but this orange ball guy's got like five. Orange ball. Yeah, I mean, I think you'd be... Against who? Against Austria. They beat Portugal, mate. Yeah.

39:14Who? You agreed that when Portugal play Ronaldo and Felix, there's no chance. They've got no chance. I had Portugal get into the semis because I thought they'd win their group. I had Portugal win the whole thing, but... What do you want the ball then, you nutter? You rate them higher than we did. You think Portugal were going to win it, but then Spain beat them, and apparently Spain are crap. And also, they kept Portugal to niche. Yeah, but Portugal are crap. They started as well. You said they were going to win it. What are you on the ball? Mate, Spain are the current European champions. They haven't conceded a goal.

39:51Whether you want to go on about other teams, whatever, Even like France have conceded goals to some pretty shit teams. We don't deny how good France are going forward. Hang on. Every team at this World Cup, even against the likes of Iraq and Iran, have conceded goals. Spain haven't even looked like conceding a goal. And they've coasted into a quarterfinal. When Yamal hasn't been fully fit, I think now you'll probably see, with the longer rest, probably the best of Yamal. They're a team. They're winners. They've been there and done it. They don't look like conceding a goal. I don't understand what makes you think they're crap.

40:27I actually think they're being underrated at the minute. They're playing second gear cruise control and walking past everyone. They boss every single game. Like you said, they don't concede a single chance, let alone a goal. My point is... And their best player hasn't even been fit yet. Exactly. If he clicks, they could make France loop. Before this tournament, a lot of people would agree, you're miles of best player in the world. And if he plays well, Spain... Spain were the favourites. Spain were the favourites. And I don't understand... Bruno Fernandes is the best player in the world. At what?

40:56You need help. I think a lot of people would have said Jamal's the best player in the world. And they've come into this tournament and I think people are being clouded by the Cape Verde result. By the way, if you take away name... Argentina must win out. Yeah, if you take away names and watch Cape Verde, they're all right. Don't get me started on Argentina. And also, Spain could have... I mean, we went and watched that game because we fucking did that Spain thing. They should have been 4-0 up at half time. They missed big chances. So Argentina are crap as well? Yeah. So who's good? So who's good?

41:33The English. The French. I think France. I think France. You still haven't explained to me why Spain are crap? What is wrong with Spain? I get that they're more boring than everyone else. I think that's why no one talks about them quite so much. It's because we've all been waiting for your mouth to do something. And he's not. But like I said, Orange Ball is doing his job. They've scored nine goals and conceded none in five games. Against who? Portugal, Uruguay. Portugal, the team you said we're going to win. Uruguay, Austria. Yeah, but that's because of Bruno Fernandes. There's no other reason.

42:06What? I thought he's the best player in the world. No, I'm more saying... No, he's saying that's why he said they were going to win. Oh. Go on. I think they've got no chance against England and France. And with how Argentina have been with these refs, maybe Argentina as well. you do realise they beat England at the last Euros in the final and they're and they're better now did they knock out France yeah in the Euros Calum you're also English pardon Calum you're also English this is Tobes not Calum have some respect you can hear you can hear what I'm saying so you should know it's not Calum yeah there's no subtitle love it so as two English boys surely you just see yourselves in a final against Spain and just feel confident I wouldn't say...

42:50I'd back England... The way they are at the minute, Bellingham and Kane are fit, and I'd back England to beat anyone on a one-off game. Confident is a different story. I'd probably give England like a 40%, 50 % chance of beating Spain. My heart would be confident. Yeah. My head maybe not so much, because not only have you got Spain beating us in the previous final, but if you're telling me Spain in the final, they've done France. Yeah. If you've gone and knocked out that France team... To be honest, I kind of feel like whoever... wins this tournament has beaten France. Yeah. Whether that's in the final for us or in Argentina or that's Spain.

43:23Yeah. Like if you beat that team you're probably going to win. You win it, yeah. I think I agree. Thoughts? I just think if this France can win it in 90 or if it is England I feel like if it goes to extra time or even late in the 90 minutes you guys have just way more depth. Then the French. No, no, no, no. Then the Spanish. Oh, I'd probably... Michelin is a good straw. You are right. You are right. I think I agree with that. You guys can go and Jude slap two away in, what, like three minutes. You guys can score and then put the pressure on, or you can bring on Dan Byrne and DJ Ed Spence and just hold them out.

44:09DJ. No, but, mate, I agree with you. I think we can beat Spain. I think we can beat France. I just think The way Spain I think the way Spain play In my opinion Suits England less Because we just can't get the ball off them And Mate it was like the Euro final You watch Roger go off And you thought We're in this Zubimendi comes on And just dictates the game It's like that Was that like your guys When When you guys Drew to DR Congo And It was Close for a bit against Paraguay We beat DR Congo by the way Sorry? We beat Dio Congra. Oh, my fault, my fault. When you drew to Ghana. Ghana. When it was close, in these lesser nations, you guys said Tuchel was brought in against the bigger nations and now you're saying that Spain are going to hold the ball and that's what you're worried about.

44:59But I think that's what you want. No, yeah, you might be right and we could just hit them on the brad. Yeah, you might be bang on. Again, like I said, I trust Tuchel and I think we've got the players to win that game. But you have to remember, we've been scarred a lot as England fans where these teams in tournaments, like the Spanish, just keep the ball and wear us down and like so I'm never going to go into that game like I do against I don't know like the Mexicans being like yeah we're definitely going to win that we'll be really really really confident because we just naturally have a pessimism about us with England against these top nations because in fairness we haven't beaten the proof should be in the pudding we haven't got enough of that to look back on and go do you know what yeah we did turn up and beat this big side it would be delusional of us to go yeah we'll definitely beat Spain when all the evidence suggests we won't based on history.

45:44At the minute, and also the way they're playing at the minute, they're just so difficult to score against. But look, I think it would be a coin flip, genuinely. I think that's a really good game. So where do you think England are going to end up finishing, mate? I think it'll be France-England final. I think France will take it. Yeah, I don't think that would be surprising, to be fair. But yeah, right. Thanks for calling in, mate, and enjoy the rest of the World Cup. All I'm saying is, all I'm saying is, go on, cheers for this. But last thing, if a centre-back takes any more penalties in this World Cup.

46:17Oh my God. I do also think with that, just quickly to a twist on the front, I mean, I know he's hinting at Akanji and stuff, but didn't Akanji score against us? No, he missed against us. He missed as well, didn't he? Davinson Sanchez, I've never seen it more obvious. Yeah. It's just not going to work. Because he can't kick a ball. Nah. Yeah, second as well. It's like, that's a big penalty. Did you see the Australian one Harry Suter went first. He was first. I can't remember a tournament. You usually get a few permanent shootouts at these international tournaments. I can't remember as many being skied.

46:53Yeah. It could be the ball. Yeah, Joe Hart is big on this, isn't he? Joe Hart is big on the ball. Good analysis, though. He's a good analysis. I have enjoyed Joe at this one. I must admit, BBC are getting mogged by the ITV. They got mogged by the studio, but then BBC did... What did they do quite recently? They're not even doing the quarter-final, are they, apparently? I enjoyed Gary Lineker's heel turn. Yes. Yeah, I knew you'd like that very WWE. Yeah, it was great. Right, let's get another caller on. I believe this fella wants to talk about club versus country. Harry, welcome to The Calling Show.

47:30You're here with Tom and Tobes. What do you want to talk about, fella? Take it away. I want to talk about the club versus country debate. Okay, we've got a lot of Aussies on today, haven't we? A lot of Aussies. We've had a lot of Aussies on for the whole time. Yeah, what time is it over there? It doesn't matter what time it is! Nice. Go on, what do you want to talk about? I think if you ask a football fan about their sort of top moments, the best games they've ever watched, they'll always go to national team games. Yeah. More than they were a club game, if that makes sense. I was literally just talking about this before we started recording.

48:09I think that depends on who you support. That's very, that'll differentiate depending on the team. Me personally, I completely agree with you. Other than like, I don't know, I've watched Albion win the championship or stay up or big games like that or beat the Wolves every time we fucking play them. But I do think my two best ever moments, especially going to a game, was the England semifinal in Dortmund and then obviously the Azteca the other day. And I do, I think where you're trying to come from, which I agree with, is it's all together. So like, for example, my friendship group are mainly Wolves fans.

48:43And we always say like, if Albin have a good away day or they do, we're like, fuck it, how good would it be if we all supported the same team? So when it comes to England, we all do and we all love it. So my best memories are like in pubs, watching England beat Germany or the Denmark game. I know Toes is going to chime in now with a very different view because he supports Chelsea. so I will understand his view. But before we do, so who do you support? I'm a Spurs fan. Oh, you're with Tom then? Yeah. Yeah, me and you, Tom, we support some team. Wait, so would you not say the Europa League was one of your best ever moments?

49:19Yeah, so that and then also the Ajax semi-final was a big moment. Staying up last day. And in fairness, I'm not trying to take a dig here. What would be your big moments for the Aussies? Well, I'm an England fan. Oh. Oh. Oh, didn't you call him the other week? I think it's the same. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. I apologise, my friend. Okay, yeah. Are you agreeing with me then with the big moments I mentioned? Yeah, yeah. So for me as well, the trippy free kick, the Shaw goal, I remember exactly where I was. I remember who I was with. I was standing in the rain watching that Shaw goal go in in Australia.

49:58Like, it sticks right out. Wait, you don't remember where you were when... What's his face? Who's the midfielder? Johnson scored. No, no, no. Who's the midfielder? They got from Bayern on loan. Palinja? Yeah, do you not remember the Palinja? Where you were when Palinja got that equaliser against the Wolves? Yeah. Top off. Good night. Top off. Good team. That was going nuts. I think it does come down to a club thing. I think where England have stakes in these games, like you said, supporting West Brom or even Wolves, like very rarely you're involved in games where it's like we could win this yeah yeah yeah whatever so I get it we never are yeah so I completely get it where it's like you then have that feeling of this Mexican we could go and win the World Cup or whatever for me that England-Mexico game was a brilliant game the other night brilliant it wouldn't enter my top 50 what as an experience it just wouldn't I think that's mental but it wouldn't but how would it where did you watch it I watched it with my dad but you're not like just a lady no I loved it yeah no I absolutely loved it but as in Chelsea have given me too many experiences that are way higher than that.

51:02And the fact is that you watch it week in, week out, week in, week out. You're so much more attached to those players. Yeah, I get that. But it's your country. Everyone's together. Yeah, I love that aspect. And very rare does the country ever come together like it does. So that's why it's so good. But like, I have that with family mates that Chelsea fans anyway. And I feel like you're so much more attached to something you're on week in, week out, week in, week out. What do you reckon about that as? it is a bit of a absence makes the heart grow fonder a little bit so you only get England every now and then and a major tournament every two years does that not when it does as a hypothetical to you if England were to win the World Cup where would that rank?

51:43it'd be above a Carabao fuck off Toves no do you know what you're playing a bit you're playing a bit it would be above an FA Cup but it wouldn't it wouldn't touch a Premier League or a Champions League fuck off as a fan it wouldn't are you serious How many family leagues have you won? Five, I've seen. You wouldn't swap one of them for England to win the World Cup? No. That's such... By the way... I'll give you an FA Cup win. By the way, believe this, you're a c*** for that. If a genie popped out and offered you that and you didn't take it, you're a selfish little turnie. Yeah. I'd give away Albion winning the championship and we just finished second for that.

52:22Hang on. Would you take an FA Cup over a World Cup? because I'd give one of my FA Cups away I don't know I'd give one away selfless man can I can I preface this with is this based on how the teams are now it's how Albion are and how England are yeah and can England still win a World Cup in the future yeah sure but they don't win this one but yeah they don't win and who knows what's in four years we know England no no no I think I'd I'd take the Albion FA Cup only because no no wait only because I've never seen it I've never seen us win anything. You've seen, you're the most successful club in England in your lifetime.

52:59Yeah. And you're still saying, no, no, no, not England. Not the whole country. Fucking basically having a bank holiday. No, I like it now. Everyone coming together. It'll be the best thing ever happened in this country's history. Even bigger than 1966. And you're telling me, no, no, I'm keeping all five of my Premier League and you're not having one. They were all lovely. I wouldn't like, do I want it now because I've experienced everything? Yeah. But I wouldn't take away prior memories to have it. I wouldn't. Like I said, I'd give up an FA Cup. Yeah. League and Champions League. What about in the future then?

53:33Hang on, Haz, let me ask you this. Would you give up that Europa League for England to win the World Cup? Yeah, 100%. Oh, good man. I must admit, the more I think about it, the more I think about it, sorry to put it in, mate, the more I think about it, going, as these tournaments progress and the feeling I get, I love England, I just do, sorry, I love Albion as well, I think I love them both equally. Maybe slightly Albin more, but I just think the way it progresses and the way everyone is on the same team, the only time we're all on the same team, I just think you're a horrible little man. Yeah.

54:09Ever saying that. I don't disagree with you, but what I would also counter with that, I love it that we're all together with Mexico, the win or whatever. We've all seen it. The second England do lose, it's going to be about how, oh, it's because Spence. oh it's because the Arsenal players oh it's because and I will be at the front saying all of those things but but my point is that is what the country ends up turning into the second it actually goes wrong at the moment it's going right and it's great while we're all together hang on it becomes it becomes divided by and that's not the same with club football yeah no no my point is that club football then overrides national football to the point that eventually if things go wrong it becomes about club football anyway you start pinpointing the problem as certain players are in the right because club football is your bread and butter Yeah, but that's my point.

54:53Everyone actually cares about it more because the second it goes wrong for the national team, you're not thinking, oh, do you know what? The English lads did well. You think, oh, that one plays for them, so it's their fault. Yeah, but that's natural anyway. It's the same way where if you're a Forest fan, you're probably going, Gibbs, what should we be playing? Like, that's just, that's how football fans are. You probably think that about fucking Chalaba. Oh, mate, the other night, when he was bringing Dan Byrne on everything, I was like, Trev would have this. When Kwanzaa got red, I thought, Trev wouldn't do that.

55:18Go on then, Az. What were you going to say, mate? one of my mates is Spurs fan and I was asking him where he was going to watch the England game and he didn't seem that interested and he said if England won the World Cup it'd just be another day that's such bullshit as well it'd be a party for so long it's such bullshit and by the way I completely understand people who are club over country it makes sense like it's your but it's your community like you go home and away every week like it's your life I get it completely get it if you're from England and don't follow or back the English national team, I don't care whether it's cricket, rugby, fucking tiddlywinks.

55:59If you don't, this is where you're from. Whether you like it or not, this is where you're from. You're English. I find you really, really strange. And I don't want you in my presence because you're a freak. Like, you're pissing me off saying you won't give up that Premier League, by the way, because that's really whammy. No. But that I can kind of get. I can understand it. And we can still possibly still have a friendship after this. but if you don't support England or go, I don't even know how they got on. First of all, you're lying. You watched it and you probably celebrated, but this gimmick, this whole gimmick of, I don't, I don't follow England.

56:31And a lot of them, by the way, are like people who live in Bristol and support Man United. So you've chosen Man United. It's not like Man United is in your fucking core and it's all you care about. And like, you should be supporting Bristol city or Bristol Rovers for one. And then this gimmick of, I don't even follow England. I don't care about international football Fuck off Then don't come down the pub Stop booking up the tables That I'm trying to book It is pointless It's pointless Not to just enjoy The international football For what it is Like I said Yeah I wouldn't sacrifice those two But it's not from a place of like I don't actively want this Yeah It's so sick Seeing how together The country feels at the moment Stop backtracking You're a piece of shit I'm not sacrificing those Premier Leagues I'm not sacrificing the Champions Leagues They can have an FA Cup for it One Premier League out of five No No You're a slimy little turnip Go on What were you going to ask him?

57:22What about in the future So you don't give up anything You've already had Those memories stay Good one You've got to give up Oh no no You win the Premier League next year Or the World Cup In a couple of weeks Premier League No way That is awful Sorry we came 10th last year guys I haven't seen Do you know how Unprivileged I've been actually I haven't seen Chelsea win A Premier League I haven't seen Chelsea win A Premier League In 10 years next year It'll be 10 years next year What are we doing here 10 years. Been a long time. I know you rage by me. I'm not. Do you know what, actually? It's the longest I've ever gone without one.

57:55That's how much sacrifice I'm putting on as a Chelsea fan at the moment. So, yeah, I'd take the Premier League. Tobias, what about not the Premier League, but you win the Carabao and the FA Cup? No, no, I'll give up the Carabao and the FA. Yeah, we can have a World Cup. We can all have a party. That'll be fun. Right, well... Haz, thanks for calling in, mate. I'm just going to have to swap him. No worries. All good. Have a good one. Can I have one more question or no? Yeah, go on. I'll try and stay calm. It's all right. It's just to do with the game against Mexico. Go on. If all things went as is, and just after they scored their penalty, it's 3-2.

58:31If we had Southgate, would we have seen that game out? No. I think we wouldn't have. I think we would have. By the way, England, under Southgate, were very good at that. Do you think he'd have brought Byrne? Yes. That's a very Southgate move. Do you think he'd change the game well enough that we would have got through that? But hang on. I don't. I like, right. So when it comes to Tuchel and Southgate, I think Tuchel is a lot better at the attacking substitutions and changing a game when it's not going well. Southgate was very good at holding out results and sitting back. And that was basically what he got accused of against the Italians and stuff like that.

59:11We were wondering, look, why didn't we go for it more? I think I genuinely think that England team still wins the game in Mexico under Southgate however I do feel more confident with Tuchel at the helm than Southgate in games such as Argentina yeah I think Tuchel has proven why he's here so far Southgate wouldn't have picked the same squad so the likes of Spence probably wouldn't have even been in the squad so he would have been bringing on Lewis Hall who in my opinion probably isn't as good one-on-one defending as a Spence so I do I still think we would have won that game, yes, to answer your question, but I think we have a far better chance of winning it with Tuchel than we do with Southgate, just in those big moments against the big teams.

59:52And by the way, let's not all shit ourselves. Tuchel was brought in to beat teams who are deemed as better than us. We haven't played one yet. And also, we don't have to, we can praise Tuchel without slating Southgate. No, we can't. You are a horrible little toad and you're never coming on pitch tried again. Thomas brought two stars to my club. He's bringing two stars to the country. I think Chelsea have done more for the country than most. See you later, Az. Thanks for calling in, mate. Thanks, boys. It's true. I was banging on about us getting too cool long before. When Southgate was here, I was saying to you, I was like, bring that man in.

1:00:30Bring that man in. He knows how to get the second star.

1:00:36Stop disrespecting Gareth and stop disrespecting the country and just give one up. Just give one up. No, I said it. You could be four times Premier League champions Do you know what I'll give two FA Cups How about that Right Let's finish on the beers I am going to just I'm going to stick to my guns I think it's USA and Belgium I liked that shout I think it's a blue moon I think it's a blue moon And I think it's a Budweiser Yeah I'll go with you So You're wrong on what Actually the beers are You are correct with the Yes Come on That's good, I'll take that. What are the beers? So the beers are...

1:01:16What is this woke nonsense over here? What's a Belgian beer? I don't really know. Is it a cause? Oh, wow. A slag? Slag? You slag. And a fist city. Oh, no, we got it the wrong way around. That's... The US is the IPA. It's a fist city. Right. A fist city. A fist city. and you slay you slay alright so we've got a slag lager from Belgium what's the percent of that it is 5 % using pure Lake Michigan water the fist city Chicago pale ale 5.5 % by the way strong it's a little bit strong does the slag go with so do we do we win that we do don't we because we got we got it's just the game we have to get right you got USA Belgium mate I think that's what matters and we knew it was awoke as soon as we drank yeah but I didn't think it was going to be the Belgians no thanks for tuning in everyone make sure you like comment subscribe and we will see you maybe I don't know if it's Toby's in next week or it's Callum Spence of Callum wants to fucking turn up for once we'll see you very soon all the Toby stuff will be in the description come on England come on
