0:00Reev:Welcome to the World Cup Review Show! We are going to be covering everything from the first week of the World Cup. As you can tell guys, we're having a great time already here in the US.

0:12Theo:I will say before we start, the Germany game is currently on. It's 4-1 at the moment, so it ends up being an absolute belter to finish.

0:19Reev:Well, it is 4-1 already. Curacao have scored.

0:21Theo:That's the most amount of goals in the game so far, isn't it?

0:24Reev:Yep. There is a big game happening later, which obviously we won't have to cover in the Today Show, but we will win next week's show. Obviously, the Netherlands face Japan. That's a big one. That's a huge one. I'm going to put a low-key prediction out there at the start of this show. I think Japan win. I have them progressing pretty far in the tournament.

0:39Theo:I still think the Netherlands win that one. We're going to be doing like three of these a week, so it'll all be up to date. We'll be smashing them out. Yeah. Honestly, the amount of content coming out to you guys is crazy. Right then, guys. The World Cup is obviously underway. The host nations have played their opening games.

0:55Reev:What an opening game.

0:56Theo:What an opening game.

0:58Reev:I did think the standard of football was genuinely shocking in that first game. The Mexico game. Yeah, the amount of times the South African keeper gave the ball to the Mexico players and then made an immediate save after it. They just came out just to absolutely clart into them. But guys, that's all they cared about.

1:13Theo:They were playing football with the fouls turned off. I like that.

1:17Reev:Do you guys know what a red card means?

1:21Theo:When your play gets sent off and you can't use them anymore for the game and then you're down to 10 players. and then it says it.

1:27Reev:And for the American viewers, guys, don't worry because the description of a red card underneath the scoreboard every time. if yous are watching this in the UK, you are lucky because some of the coverage here, there was an analyst and she said the golden boot winner was going to be Luis Diaz. Columbia aren't even making it to the quarters. What's going on here?

1:48Theo:Is that cool now? No, that's just a prediction. You can't say it's wrong. but no, it's a terrible prediction. It's a stupid prediction. It does get the golden boot. There's not a world where Luis Diaz gets the goal move because they're not going to go far enough in the tournament. To be fair,

1:59Reev:he is one of the best players in the tournament. And their group features Uzbekistan and Congo. I'm going to fight them all if you're agreeing with her. She was half-Colombian as well. She was in the group stage. Yeah, yeah. Normally the person who wins it just front-roars in the group stage. It's not going to be Louis Diaz. It's not going to be Louis Diaz. It could be Balligan. It's Harry Kane, Mbappe.

2:17Theo:Bro, it could be Balligan. Just to touch on the Mexico game a little longer. Yeah. Three red cards. Obviously, in Qatar 2022, there was only four red cards in the entire tournament so we pretty much already matched that in one game. Do you know what the record is? When you said it in the car it's 22. 22 yellows. I think it's like 26 I forgot. Let me just double check. Oh cheers Will. Do you know what it is? Oh I'll have to check. Do you know who I was really impressed in that game? Quinones?

2:42Reev:Quinones? Yeah he plays in the Saudi league. He's got like a goal a game.

2:46Theo:Yeah literally 33 and 31.

2:47Reev:He was a 28 yellows. Because he had the battle in Nuremberg didn't he? Yeah he was yeah. And Jimenez scored at the Azteca. Yeah. I'm happy for him man I'm happy for him it's incredible yeah it's unbelievable but obviously that was on the first day and then South Korea went on to beat the Czech Republic yeah first South Korea goal

3:05Theo:was so

3:07Reev:unbelievable

3:07Theo:the little chop and then the chip it's been a lot of good goals this tournament I've enjoyed it honestly the moments that the tournament's produced already and the goals that have been scored sets up for a great I was saying to you it's like there are a lot of worse teams who aren't going to do much in this tournament but for them each goal is still huge because they just want to score in the World Cup. Sorry, that's a 180 of you saying you don't want these lower teams in the competition. Don't let me go. No, I don't want them in. But what I will say is when they score, it is class. Like in the Germany game that's on right now, that equaliser was class.

3:39But then they go on to lose 4-1, so it's kind of pointless.

3:41Theo:that comes to the World Cup, especially like debut nations, just scored. The limbs of the entire country is just scoring a goal. It was crazy. It was agreed that I was correct when I said sports should be first in front of entertainment. and all the comments were backing me so thank you very much for that I just want to you don't dear tell me right now do you listen to them I don't listen to the comments

4:03Reev:tell you

4:04Theo:I do

4:04Reev:because I care about the show I love having this Lou it's good to read the comments listen to the comments because it means you care about the show and you want the show to be better no I want the best thank you Theo who spent all this except when you pick and choose because I care can I get business class home that can be arranged

4:19Theo:but can you pay for it yeah with XTB so what you're saying is you're obviously correct in every situation but no just in this one but but you're going to lead on to a but

4:30Reev:yeah I was going to say no no my whole point was I'm right well the other two nations the other two host nations also got off to well one of them got off to a fantastic start Canada not so much they drew on to Bosnia and Herzegovina yeah they were rubbish they actually were naff what Canada I thought they were naff me mate Kolasinac literally did one of the greatest clearances of all time. That was class-like. But no, I just expected more from them, if I'm honest. They got better in the second half they were, but I'm being harsh. It's the first half where I was disappointed.

5:03Theo:I do think, in terms of performances, I was actually more impressed by Canada than Mexico, but just Mexico played a pretty poor team and the W, do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. I didn't think Mexico were that good to watch, but obviously South Africa were just really bad. When's Alfonso Davies back? I swear he's been just like he's just come back to fitness break so like are they just I guess it's later in the tournament they're hoping he comes there or is he just there for the dressing room

5:27Reev:I don't really know but man they got Jonathan David they're good man yeah they're absolutely good I was so impressed by the United States I know Paraguay I know Paraguay looked very open and literally Paraguay were pretty awful is it USA

5:42Theo:are good now or is it just Paraguay

5:45Reev:are bad it's a mixture of both I think Paraguay well they played a 0-8-2 formation I just think they got they got they got they got they got they got they got they got they were getting split open they were so open at the back what I'll say is America America looked really good and some of the moves they were doing down the wings was class but like they had a nice spurt where they were doing a lot of one touch football and just getting around the back so easily but again it's Paraguay so Parv they're not going to come against teams like that it's like this argument with Arsenal during the season but it's this team but it's that team yeah but it's still a World Cup and they have to go out and put a performance like that yeah that's true but like Arsenal against Premier League teams Paraguay are useless in the first half Pulisic was was tearing people up I thought death because he's out of the league they were 3-0 up at half time so it was just tactical yeah America are out of Paraguay's league completely no absolutely they still had to go and do a job you've seen many times teams come up against no that's true that's completely true Argentina lost and they went on to Saudi Arabia but the point is we can't get I'd say hold your horses Americans no man

6:51Theo:get involved it's an opening game and they just smashed the team 4-1 I want them to flop they should get high I'm fuming I want them to flop but Balogun Balogun technically scored a hat trick if it wasn't just a fight I'm sorry Americans have been giving all this saying if all of our top athletes played soccer we dominate and win every World Cup and now you're like cheering for them you should want them fucking humbled me yeah all you should want them humbled I want them humbled I want them to be embarrassed in this tournament to serve the right for getting cocky thinking they can overtake a sport

7:22Reev:that we fucking created I want USA to do well for the tournament because the atmosphere just gets bigger you do currently realise

7:30Theo:we are in America surely if America do well sorry if USA do well then it's good for us

7:35Reev:imagine England beat America they just come and support England they keep coming up at me saying it's coming home man I'm like you're American one thing I've noticed is that every American supports another nation because they're obviously they're a country that's just everybody supports another country whether it's because of their family or they just like a player I think fashion as well which is a bit bad fashion cool tops aren't they no like obviously I am in two months I do want it to be like fun vibes out here but I can't get over like I hate the ignorance of that arguing that these a lot of them are spitting out and it does make me really want to prey on the downfall they are 17th in the world that's pretty good

8:12Theo:this is probably the best generation of USA football team that we've experienced. So why can't they just be happy? Do you think when Americans say, if our best athletes played soccer, we dominate, do you think they're correct?

8:24Reev:I think you've said way worse. No, but do you think they're correct? No. I think if they've got their back together,

8:30Theo:they probably... Yeah, but they don't fund soccer like they do other sports in the US.

Read the full transcript

8:34Reev:No, but they have a very good soccer program over here. Remember, the women's team's always amazing. Of course, yeah. Do you know what I mean? So if they put that more, because in the men's one as well, they've got big potential. It's not about the sheer amount of people you have. England is a tiny country, but we have had some of the best footballs. It's about the culture and the actual ingrained. Yeah, maybe if you went back 100 years and you ingrained everything, then yeah, fair enough, but we can say the same about basketball. You do realise that if they go on

9:02Theo:to have a really good tournament here, that'll inspire a completely new generation of soccer players in the country. But it's not going to be just like overnight, okay, tomorrow we're all going to start trying in soccer and we can dominate. It's something that has to be built up and ingrained. Well, that I'm doing talking about Americans. But the reason, but that develops from success. Like if people watch the USMNT and go, oh wow, I really want to go out and play soccer now. They will, that's how you inspire the future generations of soccer players. It would take several, several, several generations is what I'm saying.

9:33It's already happening though. It's already happening. Also, think about the last time they hosted the World Cup in 1994. Look at the standard amount for football. Exactly. In 30 years, really, isn't that long of a time? I know, but when they talk about this argument they don't talk about in terms of long term they're like in 30 years nah they wouldn't be able to do it they're like there's no world they're athletes

9:53Theo:they are getting better they've currently got the leading golden boot they always reference LeBron James LeBron James is a big shithouse lad like he's not he's not going to be like a name you know what I mean I heard that Will just said

10:07Reev:he thinks USA will win a world cup in our lifetime probably do you think they'll win one before England no Not because he's coming home in 2026. Yeah, come on, come on. I was impressed by... Obviously, they have the Englishman, Arsenal legend, Balogun up front for them. We could have done with him in the England squad. Right.

10:26Theo:He's a baller, mate. He always has been a baller. He wasn't getting over Watkins Kane, would he? It was his first goal in 17 games. I will say, as a whole, USA just looked really good. McKinney, Adams, great Adams. What was good about them? Serginio Dest was great. Thillman was good.

10:41Reev:They felt fluid going forward. Yeah, they did. They weren't... Portia's got them playing, attacking football. And they also weren't afraid to be really direct. Yes, exactly. It's exciting to watch. It was really... For the first five minutes, remember, Paraguay were on them for five minutes. Their nerves... I think this is great for them because it's a confidence win. It's not a nervy 1-0. So it will give them that boost because that first five, ten minutes, you could see they were wobbling. Paraguay had a good chance. On the top of the USA, though, don't know how you boys feel, but it wasn't...

11:12Reev:We watched a USA game in a bar. Wasn't packed. Wasn't that hyped, really. You know the reason for it. Because of the basketball going on in America. The Knicks just won their championship. Six and five in New York.

11:25Theo:It's basketball-fever at the moment, isn't it? Absolutely. Well, now it's finished. I expect to see more soccer fans out on the streets. I would hope so.

11:31Reev:I really want to because, yeah, we've sort of been engrossed in this basketball this week, haven't we? Can't not be, mate. They've monopolized the entire city. It has overshadowed it, yeah. Well, he's sat in a Knicks jersey right now. Will's actually wearing

11:44Theo:like a Knicks vest I mean

11:45Reev:last night briefly touching it I know but last night I've never seen anything like that the entire city was overrun by people and fans do you know what

11:55Theo:I will say is obviously I've been very fortunate to experience both the Arsenal celebration straight after and then that one but because Knicks don't have any competition in New York it's everywhere whereas Arsenal was quite you know pertinent to North London like you could go separate parts and it wouldn't really hit you. I was talking to someone like, you have the Nets here as well, but like no one supports the Nets. No one gives a fuck. It's what I imagine London would be like if England win the World Cup. Yeah. Yes. I agree. It was crazy, man.

12:22Reev:I've never seen anything like it. There's people doing pull-ups on lampposts. And Spider-Man was there. Spider-Man was flying through the streets. At what point they were just destroying like one of the signs on the top. I'm like, what's the point of that? A lot of it I didn't understand. Like you're just like destroying some bloke's taxi. Oh yeah. Yes, we've won. I'm going to smash up the city. That's what we do as well. Win and win. We don't just randomly riot. We don't destroy taxi drivers cars. That was only a small minority though. Have you seen the set fight to a school bus? Yeah, it's crazy.

12:48Yeah, that's silly. That's insane.

12:49Theo:That's not celebrating. That's vandalism. Exactly.

12:52Reev:People just using that opportunity for nefarious reasons. But look, going back to footy, very impressed by the United States. I thought they were one of the standout teams of the week.

13:01Theo:Do you regret your prediction of Mexico going further than them now? Or do you think that... Look, off the first game, naturally you're going to favour America but again I just think it's like who's America's next fixtures?

13:12Reev:They've got Australia on Friday. It's like they're going to come across a much harder team obviously and I'd be very interested to see how they play against a team that's pretty much through now though. Yeah I know but that's the nature of this tournament isn't it really? You know what? Australia speaking of them they put up a very very good performance up against Turkey beating Tom's Dark Horse.

13:34Theo:Is Grant Kuala in this club? Let everyone know that Tom called Turkey the Dark Horse. I will say as well, both goals, KSOTT, knee slide of the tournament. I couldn't do the first goal. Absolutely unbelievable. Nice goal.

13:45Reev:So is the second one, Metcalf. Yeah, it was unbelievable, yeah.

13:49Theo:Absolutely worldy goals. And Australia, you deserved it. Very impressive.

13:53Reev:We are going to do a – I'll touch on that segment later then, to be honest. We have a segment coming up called Pitchside Superior Player of the Week, Pitchside Superior Game of the Week, and Pitchside Superior Goal of the Week. yeah we're basically going to do a recap of every good thing that happened each week oh it's 5-1 Germany I told you it's going to be

14:10Theo:a high scoring that's officially the high scoring game of the tournament yes it is talking about Australia Australia will give America a game better than more Paraguay we're streaming that game they'll go at them that's an amazing fixture great game yeah we're streaming it's basically our second and third best demographics yeah speaking of demographics Scotland come on the Scots get in there draw them again mate class what the hell I'm not cheering I'm not cheering on them that's a bit they literally they sit and play on our downfall every single year I am I am partly Scottish you can't claim that you have to pick a side mate they're my surprise package so you've chose Scotland as your side I don't want to see you well done Scotland

14:54Reev:for winning 1-0 against the 83rd ranked side in the world Haiti well done Scotland draw them again McTominay hit the post yeah McTominay could but you've got them surprising people how far do you think we'll go

15:09Theo:what's the first knockout round round of 32 do you know what last 16 I think but I think that's I think they could get that far as well yeah I mean

15:16Reev:the fact that Brazil and Morocco drew with each other is a big win for Scotland because it means they're going to go through in the third place pretty much didn't Haiti didn't

15:26Theo:who beat we beat New Zealand 1-0 right in a friendly and then Haiti or New Zealand beat New Zealand 4-0 4-0 didn't they and Scotland have just beat them 1-0 what's their group again Brazil and Morocco who because that's a draw massively favours Scotland yeah this was this was an absolute like must win wasn't it for their hopes but also Will Scotland might end the group with three points yeah yeah which I think is likely although do you know what I can see them getting a result

15:55Reev:I can see them getting a result against Brazil man let's touch on Brazil pressure's off now like they got the win that they really needed so let's touch on Brazil Yeah, I was a bit disappointed. I did say that. I called him to be my flop at the tournament. They were pure, you know. I thought Bruno G actually had a good game. Igor Thiago.

16:09Theo:Can he really be a serious international side with Alexandre still at left back? Aww. Tom. He was great 15 years ago. Can we ask Tom, Tom, what's your thoughts on Igor Thiago not having a chance to start for Brazil?

16:21Reev:He won't start, man. No way he fucking starts. No way. He's the worst player there. He missed a sitter. So much money

16:26Theo:he doesn't fucking start. He was pretty poor though, wasn't he? He started. Yeah, he missed a sitter head.

16:30Reev:Do you remember that? passionately he had a go at us for saying Igor Chaga is not going to start up. You know what I've noticed about Tom recently, right? And he made his team of the season. Everything he says is wrong. Yeah, but he says, we've always said that, but he has the Discord. Oh, he does have the Discord.

16:46Theo:He literally does have the Discord. He has the Discord, yeah. He actually does have a Discord.

16:49Reev:Yeah, Alexander is actually Brazil's highest rated player, Reeve.

16:53Theo:Yeah, I mean, I was just... I'm saying the fact he's still knocking around and he's one of their decent players. Oh, is that what you meant by it? Yeah. what do you mean? You said any international side still has Alexander and left back should be embarrassed. Their fullbacks were going to be Danilo and Alexandra and Casemiro. Yeah, but this is a Brazil side that's really on the verge of like being too old to be competitive. Isn't it? Admit it. You didn't know he played well. Yeah, just admit it.

17:17Reev:Just admit it. I thought Vinicius Jr. took his goal well. Yeah, I love that goal. That is one of my favourite goals. And Rafinha probably should have scored as well. I will say... Thiago should have scored twice. It makes me happy to see them struggling because obviously I have them down as one of the people who could win the tournament like so Brazil yeah I thought

17:34Theo:they had a good chance but seeing them perform like that then it gives me a bit of hope that there's one less competition are they not one of the you know from the eight biggest favourites are they not the oldest average age I mean

17:49Reev:I don't know if you guys saw but Fabinho came on yeah that's my point this is just this is not a Brazil side that I think where's like what are the young Brazilians coming through now Is this going to be a quiet patch for Brazil? We've got Hendrick on the bench, didn't we? Was he on the bench? Yeah, so the young Brazilians have. You have like the Jao Pedro. You have Jao Pedro, Hendrick. It's weird that they didn't bring Jao Pedro at all. That is just fucking mental. Yeah, Ryan is on the bench as well. But if you look at the future, yeah, Ryan, Jao Pedro, Hendrick. I mean Paqueta started. Who after that is the next generation of Brazilians?

18:21Esteval. Gabriel's not old either. Gabriel's only 26. I forget how young Gabriel is.

18:25Reev:28 now. 28. Yeah, it's not old. Yeah, they'll be fine.

18:30Theo:he is by far on the way the youngest player in the back line also Igor Tiago is like Alisson Becker Marquinhos Alexandre Gabriel Alisson Seif yeah so good yeah what about Morocco though

18:41Reev:are we impressed by them they are just good they are just one of the good teams in the tournament you can't just flute winning AFCON

18:49Theo:they're a hard team to play against Hakimi's so good he's good honestly he's so good I think one past me and we were speaking about is like they just swarmed Brazil every time they've got the ball and obviously except for Hikimi they don't really have household names it's just like they don't sit there and respect the opponent it's not like they're backing off from the aura of Brazil they'll go at anyone and that's why I like them he's still got Bono in goal

19:15Reev:he's cutting around he's 35 it's quite interesting how far do you think they'll go? it's 6-1 Germany they can have a good run I told you man

19:22Theo:they go quarters I said 7-1 before the pod started guys if it's going to be 7-1 that was a great run six different goals guys Rocco's making it to the quarters

19:29Reev:yeah I can see that another surprised game Qatar got a point yeah against Switzerland the seeds were good weren't they yeah they were the header it was a header right good header great header what a header he put all of his own safety out the window yeah that's how a header should be that's a proper fucking header that is so mate that group Switzerland Canada Qatar Bosnia set up what a group you can't call that everybody thought that was going to be the worst group well they're both 1-1s

20:01Theo:both games so they're all even why is Switzerland on top? that does imply that one of those let's just say first and second go on to win all of their remaining games because obviously they can't play each other now that does mean that third place might not qualify for them

20:17Reev:if they all finish on the same points, the same goal difference the same goal scored, every game finishes 1-0 what's it done on? I was just thinking that, is it maybe done like who scored first

20:27Theo:no because I think oh you mean in terms of because it's one they both all the games FIFA World Rankings it must be done on fair play

20:34Reev:and it can't win in head to head because everyone drew imagine every game is 1-0 in that group it's not going to happen but it'll be whoever scored first it's a fun thought

20:43Theo:probably actually I think it is fair play then really that's the only thing that would be yeah yeah yeah differentiating fair play points fair play crazy if that's the same drawing of lots oh they like flip a coin Yeah.

20:58Reev:That's nuts. Yeah, so it's currently 6-1 Germany against Curaçao. We've got Ivory Coast, Ecuador later today, Netherlands, Japan, and Sweden, Tunisia. I'm very, very excited for the Netherlands-Japan game. Boys, what is your superior game of the week? Yeah, that's what they call it over here, boys. They say, instead of Man of the Match, it's superior player of the match.

21:18Theo:I mean, the obvious one would be to say Germany, but we haven't seen any of the goals since it was like 3-1.

21:24Reev:What are we saying? your superior game of the week what game have you most enjoyed watching USA yeah it was a bit one side for me I quite enjoyed Brazil-Morocco if I'm honest I thought that was quite competitive I thought it was going to be a lot more feisty after those first two goals but it's the highest quality game that we've seen mine's Australia Turkey I thought it was a brilliant game that was a good game it was absolutely brilliant and also I'm a resident Aussie g'day

21:51Theo:g'day Dan it was cool to be in amongst USA fans watching it

21:56Reev:yeah I absolutely agree you know what's weird about the USA it was like it was on but the streets were so busy that was in London in England even if people don't like football they're watching it they're in the pub and it's like there was people just walking past who just did not care they didn't even know the World Cup was on do you know many times we've been asked oh what are you doing out here

22:16Theo:that's insane isn't it

22:17Reev:the World Cup what are all these

22:19Theo:British people here for that giant tournament that you guys are hosting the guy remember the guy earlier You beat us too, by the way. That's what pisses me off. They beat us to hosting this World Cup and they don't even fucking know it's on.

22:30Reev:Yeah. He went, oh, right, as if he didn't know what the hell the World Cup was. Yeah. And they got chores over us. Yeah. I couldn't believe it. Also, Lewis, you need to keep the mic still when you're talking. You keep it. I was shouting loud. You don't want it like here when you're shouting. It's called mic 101, man. Is there any thoughts, sort of teams you've seen so far, maybe you and Steve, for example, that you've gone, they're a lot better than I thought. Or somebody you've gone. Australia.

22:53Theo:Yeah. Australia 100 % that first Australia goal

22:55Reev:was phenomenal and flip a coin Turkey disappointing

22:58Theo:yeah Turkey Turkey were underwhelming yeah

23:01Reev:we'll see if Tom's Dark Horse managed to pull it back a little bit

23:04Theo:it's such a brilliant goal it's one touch round slot it is that your goal of the week then or goal of the superior goal

23:10Reev:what's your game of the superior game of the week Morocco or Brazil Morocco or Brazil

23:13Theo:USA I'll go for the Australia-Turkey then shout out the total crackhead energy of the opening Mexico game though because that was just like how many How many slide tackles can we do in one single? That was quite fun. What were thoughts on referees so far this tournament? There's been a couple of ER decisions. They did the first ever mistaken identity. Yeah, for the dive. That was good. And it didn't take too long as well.

23:37Reev:Yeah. A couple of minutes. Is that how you think it should work? Nothing's pissed me off yet, so they're doing a good job. I just pray we're talking about football this tournament. Because I can't do VAR again. We were sat next to a guy. Oh, yeah. You'd be fuming. He had a bet on. he had Balogun goal Christian Pulisic goal or assist and a certain amount of corners and on the 71st minute he needed one corner from each team for any team simply one corner and a few minutes later the ball went out and the keeper had saved him and they didn't give it to corner

24:10Theo:I think the obviously because Will did the rules in the preview the VAR adjustment for that is if it's given as a corner and it should be a goal kick it gets reversed but why can't they do the other way? I don't know but if it's given as a goal kick and it should be a corner they don't do it

24:26Reev:that guy won his bet

24:27Theo:the guy actually did legitimately win his bet but obviously because it wasn't given on field imagine not getting a corner

24:31Reev:for the last 20 minutes of the game in the whole game mate he was so upset

24:35Theo:what was he going to win? it would have been a lot decent amount yeah decent amount well then your superior

24:40Reev:my superior goal of the tournament so far is what's his name? Iracunda the Australian the first goal

24:48Theo:okay I'll change mine I thought it was

24:50Reev:I'm going to say I don't know his name but the guy who plays for Qatar that was just because of the moment like it's huge and a class header I like that one it was a banging header to be fair I will go with little unrollmention Vinicius Junior's strike was sexy that was good

25:04Theo:I'm going to go with Hwang Inbjom the first South Regal yeah composure for that is insane is that the one where he chips it and lifts it he chops inside and then chips the keeper yeah that was sick bearing in mind that basically swung the game for them. So we've done our superior

25:24Reev:game of the week.

25:25Theo:Superior goal of the week.

25:26Reev:We've got a superior player. Any stand-up performances? I feel like... Pulisic's first 45 minutes. Maybe that American striker, Giza, what's his name again? Baligan. Baligan. He unscored in 17 games and he just went in and scored a couple. 7-1 Germany.

25:42Theo:I told you! Jesus. I told you! Have a... Mate, I'm actually going to I'm going to have called it. I said imagine it's 7-1 and we start the pod 7-1 Germany yeah damn well we haven't watched enough of that to know who's been the best player in that one so I will actually go

25:58Reev:I thought Tillman was good for the United States he was good wasn't he he could have played for Germany really he could have played for Germany youth team yeah

26:05Theo:yeah I think for me I think Serginio Dest I think he was totally unplayable in that game but looking forward boys when do we do another one of these before the England game yeah I completely forgot Gio Reign is Travella. That was a filthy finish.

26:20Reev:I've just seen it on there.

26:22Theo:Mate, you can't reflect it.

26:23Reev:Yeah, that was good. Outside of the right, it was so clean. What about your guys' superior personal moment of the week?

26:30Theo:What? Seeing Spider-Man in the flesh in the Knicks celebrations. That's got to be real. Lewis can't remember any of these. Yeah, memories.

26:40Reev:I preferred the Game 4 comeback of the Knicks and the actual NBA winning game. Yeah, Wednesday night. the game 4 comeback

26:46Theo:was crazy when you had your top off for like half an hour yeah I just couldn't get my t-shirt on turned over and by the way Theo went to throw his drink in the air but he didn't throw it or be threw it back so like someone behind him just got a pint full of whatever he didn't disperse anywhere what about those what about those two hours you were sober for this week that's probably the personal moment no personal worst moment get me a pint

27:08Reev:yeah guys things are going to calm down from this week onwards are they it's just about to ramp up lad England haven't even played yet oh it's going to calm down because we're going to the England games. I'm ready. I'm ready to go, mate. I slept for the first time last night and I feel unbelievable. You don't sound great, mate. I'm having a pint today, like. Anyone that doesn't say

27:26Theo:the Knicks celebration's from last night, it's got to be, hasn't it?

27:30Reev:I was a bit tired. That's the most mental thing ever. Yeah, in the streets was pretty berserk.

27:34Theo:Berserk. You have main roads in New York City, one of the busiest places in the world, completely deadlocked and locked up. I can't believe people are trying to drive through. yeah man it's crazy people were climbing on the cars and stuff I will say climbed up on that scaffolding yeah yeah that was cool I went in the plant pot what yeah I will I know we're going to talk about England on the next one but I was curious what you thought about you see the interviews that Bellingham and Rodgers did about Jordan Henderson

28:04Reev:no but we can discuss that on the next episode no oh it's quite it's quite relevant now I haven't watched it that's why no it's quite it's crazy so they basically say like he's if every every England player who's in the squad would have Henderson in their top five people who they want at the camp and apparently he's just the funniest best guy and they were saying for them personally because they're quite hotheads like he's really important for them so it did actually because we do make quite a lot of fun it's like oh Henderson answered but like they spoke so convincingly about it you can really understand the actual logic of the behind the scenes guy

28:39Theo:that's why it's a squad right yeah you see a little glimpse in it Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because it's the same thing with third goalkeepers. I think it was Freddie Woodman at Liverpool where he's like, I didn't realise how much you do. Because if Salah wants to stay behind and do free kicks, you're there. So it was cool. He spoke really passionately about him. So apparently he's a funny guy. You're on board with him? I'm really not surprised. I think Henderson's a great person to have around. Ultimately, if two of our most talented players are saying he has to be there, he's good for them, then do you want?

29:08Fares, get him there. Absolutely, Fares. What about the England balls and boots been oh my god

29:16Reev:are they actually yeah yeah yeah have they found everything have they found the guys boots I'm not sure so annoying so FYI guys if you were sort of not in the know-how this week at England's training camp all the balls boots bottles bibs now we left with one ball everything beginning with B got stolen they left one ball I think so that's kind of a piss dig innit it's like it nicked everything it's like oh just leave them one yeah

29:38Theo:they won't suspect it if I just leave one I think it was talking of good faith it's like best to look at the tournament

29:44Reev:how many spare boots can you nick before someone realises you've got a spare boot well you know like

29:48Theo:when you've got your missus buys like a fresh pack of biscuits and you go I'll leave her one yeah she'll have one I'll have the rest yeah yeah I can't be told off for having them all I thought of you

29:59Reev:how many Skittles could you eat in a bag before someone noticed someone's been eating their Skittles ten for you it'd be like one though for you it's the you'll get a sense as I think about having one of your sticks He has like a Skittle sense upstairs. Hang on, this is a bit lighter than usual. Someone's thinking about eating my Skittles. I actually don't eat sweets because they give me spots.

30:19Theo:Why have you brought up Skittles? You actually do eat Skittles.

30:22Reev:No, it's just M &M's.

30:25Theo:One. Is that everything? Have we covered everything? I want to... Obviously, we're here for the World Cup. Oh, yeah. Fair enough. You wouldn't have thought, would you? I'm not. There is a transfer window going on. There's news back home. There's been material changes. Yeah. Just today, Kukureya off to Real Madrid. He probably deserves it, doesn't he? He absolutely does deserve it. That's definitely a club that he should be playing at.

30:52Reev:Also, I feel like, who's their current left back? Is it the young guy? I don't know. Is it one of their youth players, isn't it? Either way, this Real Madrid team's looking... They haven't really fulfilled for a while, a good few years, isn't it? This Real Madrid team's looking good now. They've made some quick, nice signings. Carraris. Yeah, the young guy. Mendy yeah yeah yeah so now they've got Canate he might retire who've they signed now Canate who've they signed as well Dumfries Bernardo Silva Bernardo Silva Bernardo Silva Dumfries yeah they've got Dumfries as well that was it's going to get confirmed because it was like if thingy got elected president he was getting Canate for free and Dumfries he was signed he just needed to get elected from what I understand or Trent in midfield oh my god Trent in midfield I'm pretty sure that's true I don't think I've been clickbait but that was like 20 million quid or something it was with Jose Mourinho as well so you don't actually know you're just guessing no that is all the stuff I just don't know if it's confirmed yeah oh he's been elected yeah he's been elected though hasn't he because Jose is appointed now no big transfer news though is we're getting Victor Munoz who's the best player in Spain so what better than Mbappe yeah but apparently there's a there's a set buyback clause for Real Madrid because they have a buyback clause on them already and they can just sign them back which is stupid isn't it

32:06Theo:well our transfer targets are now Dani Omar Morgan Rodgers and Barcolla, aren't they? Yeah, it's quite good. I'll take all of them. Take all of them, yeah. Should we just have all three? Managerial change. Fulham, Alvaro Abelola. Oh, yeah. Abelola, is that Fulham? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Wait. What?

32:21Reev:It's not been paying attention, is it? I've been a Knicks fan all week.

32:25Theo:That is true. That is true, yeah.

32:26Reev:Is that a risk? As in the Real Madrid, a Real Madrid Abelola? Yeah.

32:31Theo:Yeah, as in the Abelola, yeah.

32:33Reev:I think that's a bold move from Fulham. Yeah. I mean, he's a Real Madrid, I know he didn't do amazing at Real Madrid but he still managed Real Madrid I don't trust I think that's a bad appointment I think that's a good gamble I think it's a bad gamble I think you're going on a name there and not necessarily obviously I don't follow Real Madrid in and out but like you haven't had a great season have they and you just hide the guy you manage them through that partially so it doesn't make sense you're losing Marco Silva who's like a very very good manager he's a very good manager tactical and experience there's no way around the league and you're going just to a name in my opinion but who would you have had them have Have them have.

33:08Theo:It's a tricky one. I think it's a full-on B. It's a tricky one. It's a good gamble, I think.

33:11Reev:I think it is, yeah. They wouldn't have been all the glass in a ring, would they? What? Let's just step down. That'd be a huge step down. I know, but it's a tricky one. Apparently they ass-slot, didn't they? Well, they were looking at McKenna, weren't they? I thought it would be McKenna. From Ipswich. They were looking at McKenna from Ipswich. That one would make more sense to me. Yeah. Like, he was wanted by Chelsea just last season. He's got Ipswich straight back up. But they're not the paper of it, though. they've just gone inside Real Madrid's manager look it might be it might be a thing where it's like look if we get Abelorin I know he hasn't done a great job but it might be a thing if we get Abelorin we can attract a higher calibre of player like with that name because that is a thing with Fulham it's like I can't really think of many big name players that they got that's a step above it hasn't just been a player dropping down to them I know but that's a player you're right I think it's a good gamble by Fulham that one

33:59Theo:it is if they go out and sign some good players I think you're right though I think that's exactly what they're trying to do. They've brought in a name that will attract more players to play for that person. Yeah, and even if you end up sacking him, you've got the players in, haven't you? And he's Spanish anyway. Yeah, he's Spanish. He's quite attractive, yeah. They'll probably play good Spanish football. Classic Spanish football. Just go buy a Darmotro again. Yeah. Another bit of Newton back home. Pedro Poirot signed a new long-term deal at Spurs. Oh, that's good. Is this the start of them coming back to where they were?

34:29They're doing all right. They've got Senesi, haven't they, as well?

34:32Theo:When you say coming back to where they were, Will, what does that mean? Going back to 17th. Yeah, yeah. Two years in a row. 17th in the European Champions. European Champions. No, top six. Top six. They've obviously dropped out the last two years. Do you know what? Do you know what? From what I've seen, De Zerbe is actually quite a frightening prospect out of that club. I think he's been pretty good in challenging circumstances.

34:53Reev:Is van der Venstaten?

34:54Theo:I don't know. We'll find out, I suppose. We'll find out. He hasn't left yet. I'll be surprised if he stirs. I actually do rate De Zerbe. I think at Brighton he was... Yeah, he's kind of a little bit underappreciated, but now he's got even more resources to work with. He's probably going to be quite good. He's just a bit of a hothead, isn't he? Yeah, but like Sinesi on a free school. Sinesi is a great sign. On a free symbol. We'll see, man. It's going to be an interesting transfer window. The World Cup's, it's interesting to see how the World Cup's going to mess with it, which we might be getting Trafford again.

35:27Reev:Have we even talked about Gordon leaving? Yeah, pretty mad. in Barcelona yeah gone to Barcelona does that mean you're getting Rashford no we're going for this Victor Munoz from Asuna oh that's what you're doing yeah and then Brighton beat us to some other right winger who's like a young player he's going to be amazing then yeah he's going to be unbelievable so it's annoying oh my god the lineups will be out for the Netherlands Japan game has my boy started

35:52Theo:did he finish 7-1

35:54Reev:it was 7-1 yeah

35:55Theo:wow actually called it on the show I said it was going to be 7-1 as we started

35:59Reev:you're joking and Goto's on the bench.

36:02Theo:Oh, no.

36:03Reev:Oh, he'll come on a score. He'll come on a score. I know it.

36:06Theo:You need him to. You need him to get two goals because your bet's whether or not he'll get two.

36:09Reev:Yeah, you've got Somerville starting for the Netherlands. Van Heek. Van der Ven's playing left back.

36:15Theo:Yeah, he does, doesn't he?

36:16Reev:Oh, wow.

36:17Theo:He's rapid. Do you know what? That Dutch squad looks like. He's decent. It's pretty good. It is a pretty good Dutch team. Like, I actually didn't really realise like Reinders and Somerville were all Dutch. They just lack like an out-and-out goal scorer. Look at the bench as well. Ake Cliver, Depay, Vifa, Robin Roofs, Robbie, Hato. It's going to be an interesting one. I'm excited to get into the part of the tournament where there's just juicy games. Begors is actually on the bench. Group stages have those juicy games. You don't think the group stage games in World Cup are juicy? It's diluted a bit now.

36:52The first game had three red cards. That's juicy.

36:55Theo:You just watched Brazil and Morocco. I'd enjoy that. There's normally more than that though. There's a few good ones. You genuinely are like the most persistent hater of all things. Just because I have a different opinion to you. You've watched all of these games and you think none of them have been... You're putting words completely in my mouth. I said how good Morocco was. There's more juicy games. There's some juicy games here. Yeah, but we talked about this. Diluted because there's more teams. Germany have just beat someone 7-1 in a World Cup.

37:26Reev:It's not juicy games. it's not the first time that's like soccer age it's not the first time they've beaten someone 7-1 in the World Cup I still enjoy the big games that's why by the way I'm the guy who said Brazil-Morocco was my favourite game was that 7-2 or 7-1 7-1 yeah 7-1 all Germany do is just beat people 7-1 in the World Cup they beat Brazil 7-1

37:48Theo:so they're primished through to

37:50Reev:to the final it was anal when they beat Sadio A.B. in 2002 yeah do you know what I mean so guys that is the World Cup review we're going to be coming at you live every Monday with a weekly roundup of all games and fixtures in the World Cup we do more than a week not only that every week is a full roundup we've got big week content coming up yeah this week obviously we have the England game which we are vlogging and we are doing a preview show and a post match show so you'll be getting that which will come from Dallas yeah that's going to be coming at you live from Dallas yeah so that'll be coming at you Wednesday morning and Wednesday night as well as Tuesday we've got Tenable coming up yep Tenable of AB we are also live streaming USA vs Australia on Friday and tonight actually this comes out Monday at 5pm 8pm we're going to be live streaming Belgium, Egypt so make sure you stay tuned for that tonight as you are watching this on a Monday because I am on it with my time zones we're 5 hours behind so make sure you drop a like and subscribe because we're also trying to hit 400 ,000 subscribers so hopefully our voices will return Lewis is important I don't mind yeah

38:59Theo:there's every chance Theo's a mind world as we come back to some level of normality but Lewis is just I haven't even got to the point where we can like chant some England songs with the fans Theo keeps telling me off for singing Vindaloo guys by the way I'm at a World Cup in America and I'm singing Vindaloo and this guy

39:13Reev:I don't even think you're an England fan bro you're not singing Vindaloo you just keep saying cheddar cheese on the key I bet you're support in Portugal you all you do is just walk past me and do you want some cheddar cheese it's not the words can I introduce you please do some blog for cheddar cheese you should know this it's basically our national anthem yeah but just like enough cheddar cheese talk please Vindaloo so for the England pod that we're going to be recording on Tuesday it's going to be a great pod that I want you to do a full rendition of Vindaloo yeah I won't have a I will but it won't it'll sound like this I'll have no voice at all after that game that's probably for the best I cannot wait to be out with the England fans in Dallas and sing some songs man I just want to sing some England songs.

39:56Reev:Can you sing people to subscribe on Spotify? Subscribe on Spotify, Vindaloo. Okay, and on that note, guys, we will see you every single day during this World Cup.

40:05Theo:Yeah, see you every day for the next six weeks.
