The hag divines when something must die. Yes, that was Pug. But this is huge. The ego loves to seek. But never to find. It was Berlant and Novak the whole time. Hi. Hi. You sent me a nice text before we started. What did I say? You said, standing by with joy in my heart.

1:24Yeah. Why? You were excited to record? Whoa, whoa. What happened? Sorry, a mosquito has entered the frame. I actually am going to close the door. I'm so sorry because it's hot in my office. The AC, then you can hear the AC. So I had the door open to the elements. It is hot. It is kind of hot, right? But then the freaking mosquitoes come in and ruin my life. Hang on. Okay. But I just want to say, listen, and I'm hoping this will be the last time I mention this on this podcast. I still have my rash. It's better. Also, I want to make a note, which is, or just, you know, report. I'm going to see a derm.

1:58We'll see what she says. but on the verge of tears yesterday is this my new life you know yeah and i'm not putting anything on my skin for the first time since probably i've been doing skincare since i don't know the sixth grade seventh grade right so this is the first time since my childhood that i don't at least have moisturizer on like i've been wearing spf since i was a child every day well done i mean it's gonna serve you well i mean kind of every day more like anyway so i'll just say it's a life lesson because in my and by the way the rash is it extreme no and today it's better but i just had coffee with someone and i within 30 seconds my rash i know what you're thinking oh my god she fell off look at that rash like what are you talking about and it's yeah exactly and it's like or i was a shut-in yesterday because a i woke up i took benadryl so i was you know on drugs was actually kind of amazing.

2:56How have you been experiencing that? Right, because as I was trying to warn you, like, it ain't no joke. It changes a day. Benadryl. Oh, yeah. I watched Wolf on Wall Street and The Departed yesterday. So it was six hours. So you decided Leo to soothe the system? Yeah. Yeah, I needed Leo to come in. The excellence of Leo Dio to soothe the system? Also, and guess what I discovered? Jacqueline, there is a... So after I watched The Departed, I there is a short film that Martin Scorsese made and it's Scorsese not Scorsese I'm intentionally saying Scorsese there was a short film with a 15 minute short film 70 million dollar budget starring Leonardo DiCaprio Robert Gennaro and Brad Pitt that is basically promotional material for a casino in Macau so clearly like they all just got like 15 mil I haven't watched it yet my god but it's called the audition you've never heard no one's so it but it's oh my god so they're not promoting it because they're like this isn't real what do you mean it's a real casino it's 17 minutes you said it's like 15 minutes yeah and it's a promotional but it's literally a promotional it's a short film in quotes but it's promotional material for a casino and the budget was 70 mil so clearly this casino was like hey and how much did marty get i mean right at least 20 mil and where is it uh where is it showing i would say the budget for the short film without it's the actors or where the budget's going they got leo they got brad they got robert fucking denier oh right right so it's come to the point where i'm just gonna say i need clean beauty on the lips because if there's a strong scent to the lip product at this point it's like an instant headache i don't know what's happened yeah my nose has opened up and it's possibly it's um olfactory maybe so it would be um olvoyant or something you know what i'm talking about right clairvoyant yeah yeah yeah claircognizance what's the yeah thank you oh that's what i was trying that i knew something was wrong it's not the voyant right claircognizance clairvoyant clairaudient clair olfactory and i feel like i've asked this before no that is a real thing people that smell they're like i smell i smell burning rubber and they're like smelling burning rubber factory burned to the ground that may it's always smelling um clairvoyance is oh right i remember this word clairalliance or oh oh clair olfaction it's a psychic ability to intuit information oh my god you're still wearing your fake aura ring so funny i'm gonna take it off i'm wearing it for a week i need to send in the news about what size this is the sizing kit and you know I should just start doing errands on the podcast that would be I would really finally get through things because to ask me to on my own deal with going into the app or looking and going to a website and logging in and being like here's my my size like what oh I've had as we all know a car hit my parked car and I have been needing to upload a damage report of the images for does it happen?

6:06Oh yeah, that's tough. Because it needed my vehicle VIN number and I was like, well, that'll take a week to get together. Oh yeah, you know the VIN is like the ATM? Because it's vehicle identification number. So it's like vehicle identification number number or ATM machine. It's like automatic transaction machine machine. See what I'm saying? You following? I don't think you are. Yeah. It's okay. Yeah, I know. I get it. I get it. Or you're just not interested. It's not that exciting. But I do, when you catch two of them. The VIN number. Right. The ATM machine. Wait, I have to break in with the Poog Movie Club required viewing here.

6:45Do you know what that is? Let's see. Robert Zemeckis' film here from 2024, which is one shot. No way. It's all one shot starring Tom Hanks with the most insane de-aging CGI. It's like the craziest thing you'll ever watch. I turned it on. I heard about it. I meant to watch it because it's like the laughingstock of society. Oh, this is the one where he's like young and whatever. Yeah. Right. And I was like, okay, yeah. And then. So you were curious. I was like, I'm going to just turn it on like as a joke. Turn it on. Watch the whole thing. the next day started again because it's so unimaginable and if if any hags want to laugh and to marvel really at the impossibility of culture turn it on there and by the way mandatory viewing is just the first 10 minutes it's the kind of thing that you're like this couldn't possibly have been made on purpose it's fascinating check it out very interesting and then we were watching it and naomi was like when's this from because because like the cgi is so right crazy it looks it's like i don't know like it looks like 2002 or something it's 2024 like uh we didn't have a better like a good eye for cgi where it was almost like um back then you could confuse the people with lesser or something it's like someone's grand niece made it in an afternoon the cgi but please please we'll talk about it in bonus if we could figure out how do movie watches streamed simultaneous that would be a good time oh we can figure it out all right we can figure it out the tech is there so and also I want to cut in and say a clip that bonus subscribers will have access to is Jacqueline and I in front of the most magnificent sundance most significant sundance in front of the most amazing sundance it was we were actually in front in front of a beautiful beautiful slam dance, I believe.

8:49It was a shocking sunset. So beautiful. We were taking it in specifically with thoughts of Poog and the year to come and the growth. And then a man who we were doing huge, what's it called? Expansive when you physically make your body large to take it in. And he said, well, he said, take it in. We had our eyes closed, taking in the sunset and he went, take it in. Let me just make sure, like, because I was getting buzzed. I don't know if you can hear that. I was getting buzzed. Oh, God, you know what lives in my heart, and I always mean to clarify? You're like, have you ever been pulled over? This is on Poog at some point, right?

9:26And I'm like, yeah, I call it getting buzzed or something, or it's called getting buzzed in my household, okay? And what I mean is literally I refer to, like, wee, wee, like, oh, I got buzzed. Like, I got buzzed. Like, they got me, okay? Like, buzzer. I don't know. and I've always been like do the listeners think I was like have I been pulled over? Yeah it's called getting buzzed on a Saturday night like driving crazy cause you're drunk but what you have been pulled over? In life? Of course I mean I haven't I mean have you ever gone on long road trips? Yep and you're on the highway like and you never I don't think of myself as speeding I mean the times I've gotten no I've definitely gotten pulled over like you know a long time ago but like oh you go past and like you know you're on an empty highway and there's a spot that's there to get you and if you're going like five miles over yeah they got you they got you it's shocking that i haven't yeah and then the other times were like once was within you know weeks of getting my license there was a turn in my town that i essentially it's a confusing turn and it's like you have to go further past the little island to make the left and i was like panicked they essentially pulled into the unoccupied wrong way and they got me and then um oh damn then there's a couple like just like you know spots that are like oh you didn't come to a full stop at this at this stop sign before making the right oh yeah rolling through come on rolling through and like i'm still i'm still breaking taking looks everywhere and going it just didn't get down to a full zero and they were they're trying to make their quota i'm looking at um fucking pigs by the way can you know what's gonna be radical you're gonna come over and record here sometime i know and i was just like it's so funny like because it never happened i know like i realized like i have a million microphones from my tech well don't worry everyone we're gonna be doing some in person soon oh yeah and uh just like i just think it would be so cozy absolutely there's room in this chair for two this has been my chair since the beginning wow and then going to the grove this sort of dumbass chair that i love you don't mean us both talking into the same microphone of course not no i'm saying i have like nine microphones here we could just sit across from each other yeah or next to each other whatever we prefer but yes we sit across well here's a tease i'm i'm um i'm using something that um it's going to be on product corner something that i just got in the mail that's ten dollar item really got in the mail wait do i have it i can't see it no no i bought it you ordered it you ordered it how exciting i've um yeah very simple item but that i already feel is the great version of a simple thing i'm just taking a photo of this just so i can move on i i like i wanted to talk about i told you i want to do a deep dive on breakfast oh yeah and not just the day-to-day because yes we've spoken of it but i was thinking about breakfast as a child okay strange breakfasts that you've had like throughout your life okay strange oh by the way people's breakfasts and what you've thought about them.

12:33Just really, I just want to dig into something. Well, a breakfast that I had that I think about a lot is the breakfast I had in London at Koya, Japanese traditional breakfast. It was unbelievable with like, what kind of fish was it? It was like some white, was it cod? I don't think it was cod. Unbelievable with white rice, miso soup, radishes, an egg. It was fucking divine. And then I chased it down with some really nice, some warm non-caffeinated tea. Blew my mind. That sounds incredible. Well, savory. This morning, you know what I had for breakfast? Savory oatmeal? Kitchery. Oh, hell yeah. Kitchery.

13:18Kitchery, kitchery, kitchery. Oh, you know what I had last night? Like a little non-alcoholic cocktail sort of, or mocktail, you know, of, it was with this stuff. They sell it in Whole Foods, Pathfinder. never heard of it it's like herbal something or other and then does it give you lemon juice and um spritz there's literally it's just herbs but it um genic herbs i don't even know if it was dr genic i mean i think it was like it's just like like i don't think it was any because the adaptogens flavor it's just flavor let's see adaptogens can make you high maybe i don't know pathfinder um so jacqueline when you look at your cuticles right now are they dry My nails are like, it's hideous what's going on.

14:02The nail or the cuticle? Like peeling kind of? Yeah. Like I'm just, I'm taking a break from gel. I hate getting my nails. I'm not going in there. I say don't cut. They do anyway. There's literally no consent. Right. Just push back. Just push back. Yeah. They're like, but surely not. And then you leave. You're bleeding. You're crying. Yeah. It's a struggle. But guess when I back on for events, press on. I'm going to be doing press on and in, in product corner, I will reveal my favorite press on. Okay. Because I, I, I got some press on, um, for that party. And then I didn't put them on because it was last minute.

14:42And so it didn't happen. And I'm curious because. Well, press on is, is I have to say fabulous. Not for like this press on. Yeah. For, for, for an event. A makeup artist recommended to me and she had been wearing them for like almost two weeks. To be honest, kind of creeps me out. I'm like, ugh. Well, why? Like dirty. Like, I don't know. Just long nails. Oh. I guess it's the same as like, I don't know. I just. It's definitely the same as the gel. For sure, for sure. I guess maybe it's not if it's like, but isn't the gel basically plastic? Yeah, I mean, the gel is poison. But I think I just mean the, it's just more of an emotional thing.

15:20Something about the press I'm being on for a long time. But they were fabulous. but then you have to use, I'm going to be wearing them, I think for two days. And then, so I'm going to use glue because the simple sticky pads you can edit for a day, but like one, you know, it was on the verge of flying off the whole time. Yeah. But they make me, they make me instantly feel as we've discussed kind of horny and want to spend money. Well, I put them on and then I went to, I just spent, I went shopping. You shop. Right, right, right. Yeah. That's very interesting. Yeah. Well, it reminds me of Troop Beverly Hills, like her finger and the nail, like pointing at the one missing jewel on the gown.

16:01It's like Betty Draper smoking a cigarette. It's like hand on the steering wheel. Like it just, it's such an evocative image. Although I was trying to argue to Paul, you know, when I was, he was dressing me and I mean, he was remote, but it was like, did you get your nails done? You know, no, you know. And I was like, oh no, I think there's like a cat hair on this like thing. And he's like, like almost, he was very like, you've got worse problems. you didn't get your nails done you know what I mean like yeah yeah kind of like he was really kind of like hooked on the nail thing and I was very like it could just be my like I don't think it's what it used to be like yeah yeah totally the expectation that you have a long painted nail like I was like I don't think anyone will notice that I don't have nails even even while I'm in full yeah like someone someone who's into it might in this way like oh look like someone you know what I mean but not in a way like like as if I were wearing you know I don't know like something that would be noticeable very noticeable right like yeah yeah so and i was trying to like argue this point like it's not it's just not i i just think it's not what it used to be i think having no nail is just a neutral i think you're probably right you can be in full glam well if you have a really nice and that's what i'm trying to work toward is the bare hands really nice clean hand look where your nails are still manicured but they're not colored and they're not right long I mean, I very much enjoy a short manicure.

17:24The times that I've had, I had these glue-ons, I think when we did the Rachel Antonoff dog show. And I didn't take them off right away or something, but they were still on. And one of them was on. And it's a completely different existence. Completely. And I was struggling with using my phone. Yeah, yeah, totally.

21:09what did i walk oh i walked by two frogs i mean i mean i walked by two stone frogs on a stone bench okay okay and there were those kind of frogs that you see the oh they're like a cartoon like kind of Yeah, like kind of like as if they're humanoid, you know, like they're sitting up on a bench with their legs crossed. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I was thinking about how, you know, some people, I looked at them because I briefly had this like, what if I lived in that house? Or if I bought that house, would I keep the frogs? It was the thought I had, right? It was more like, I like those frogs. And I was like, I keep those frogs.

21:44And then I imagined you coming over, okay? And me being like, yeah, like the frogs were here before. And like, I kept them, Kate. I kept them. I end up clutching my pearls at your frogs? Yeah, yeah, like defending the frogs and being like, you know, like a lot of these garden frogs, these stone garden frogs are like horrible, you know. But I thought these were good. And like, you know, I like to develop a more discerning eye. This is another thing I like have learned from Paul or shopping with Paul or like looking at like vintage like Palm Springs, like flea market. Like he'll like, there'll be a bunch of figurines, right?

22:18and he'll grab one and be like the things you learn from friends that friends model for you he would be like that's a good rooster that's a really good rooster and with this discerning high like one time we're at the Palm Springs walking with Paul and he comes across these little wood animals and he's like just the three in the midst of a table of other figurines and he's like He's like, where are these from? Are these like this? Are these 60s? He's like, what is that? It's signed on the bottom of something. And he's talking. He's like, I've never seen these before. To the person running the booth, right?

22:58That particular table. He's like, I've never seen these before. And I shop. Yeah, yeah. Okay? Yeah. And it was like, it was so cool. I love it. Was it acknowledged? Because it just looks like a wooden figurine. Well, me and Chris say it like near constantly in our house now. You know what I mean? Like, and I shop. Like, to know. And then the culture of whether it's like estate sales where the people running the estate sale are like, well, that's blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Or flea market, you know, all the fairs, right? There's this kind of like, you know, they didn't know what it was from. We all tried to figure it out.

23:35He took the four animals home. And he is like, so through a friend. This is a fun topic of conversation, actually. Like what you've modeled from a friend, right? I mean, this will be the next episode. He, seeing that, allowed me to go, those are good frogs, right? Yeah. That's a good frog. That's a good stone frog. And have the self-dignity and self-esteem to have an opinion. Well, they give you permission. What friends grant you access to do, of course. I know. Yes. You try it on and you're freed. No, no, no. It's defending the frogs. I mean, and shopping with a friend, by the way, is one of those ways.

24:14What is? Oh, shopping. Yeah. Yeah. Shopping with a friend like and do you feel like, OK, huge question. Shopping like and I even mean, you know, like you have no money and you're 11, but you're still kind of like in a store with a friend or whatever. I feel like young teen, like a couple of girls together going into a store and looking at things or a vintage store, like, you know, like a secondhand, whatever. I feel like that was a major life change experience, okay? Oh, yeah. Of being in a store with a co, not with a parent. Subjectivity formation. And then the competition and the, I like this.

24:51Oh, you like that? Yeah, yeah. I want that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, ew. You know what I mean? Like, I would never wear this. Or, oh. And then the panic. Like, they've got the one. And do you remember that? Yes. Very intense. And did you ever get, like, I had to learn, like, did you ever get convinced by a friend into buying something and take it home and you're like, I don't like this. Oh, my God. Of course. Of course. Of course. I mean, still. Yeah. It's like a huge learning. Yeah. How to shop with a friend. It is. Because you have to maintain your own personhood. Yes. While being right up against someone else's.

25:24And you have to see the way in which you. I mean, nothing's more classic than, you know, for you. The whole free. Well, that's. I like that for you. I know. I like that for you. Classic. Yeah. I never would. But yeah. Wait. Something you were saying. The friend. Oh, well. just talking about oh modeling friend modeling yes but talking about yard decorations yes so now we're you know it's been we're past christmas now healthfully past christmas yes when you see people's christmas decorations still up it's like officially a sign of mental illness no i know and by the way right now i'll say my blow mold is still out there but it's face down and dragged aside like yeah like it's like you someone could see it but it's no longer on display and i'm not proud i and you're right i grew up in a house which in kind of a proud way or like kind of like aren't we kooky way my mom would have the tree up into january right like and it's possible even i should ask her when the latest it was up because i thought it went longer i feel like you've told me this and it went longer yeah i think it was like feb i think it was like valentine's day christmas tree or something like because her trees like we would do them and they'd be they'd be wild and they were gorgeous and it's like yeah you do that's like you're living by this object it's great brings you joy it's hard to get rid of it and also particularly my house wasn't a oh it's the day after thanksgiving up goes the tree right so it's like you know anyway but that whole decorating the tree like christmas eve thing i'm fascinated by it i know i know i'm and now i'm kind of like rebelling like i'm like no bring it down last day can be up is january 6th last fucking day And then there's a couple homes, me saying homes, a couple homes in our neighborhood.

27:00There's one house near us that keeps their Christmas decorations up 365. Lit? Year-round lit. That's very interesting. Year-round lit. And so it's like, well, they're insane. Like whoever dwells in there is, because also - Are they good? Then it's by making, it's always Christmas, then it's never Christmas, obviously. well you need to state the fucking obvious but no no but it needs to be said um because it's it's actually it's not just profound on the on the level of you know more can become zero right no this is helpful infinity is zero etc well it's allowing for the dips you can't always be special every day can't be special every day can't be good it just can't fucking happen and you eliminate the potential for magic or anything when you insist on that.

27:52And I have a habit of insisting on that, perhaps. No, no, no, no, no. It's so moving. Years can, no, no, years, years. I sure can, sweetie. We think of in days, oh, a couple hard days. How about a couple hard years? Yeah. How about five years ago, lost to the wind? Well, this is, I think about it all the time. I go - It's okay, it's okay. It's okay. We lose years all the time. Remember when we came up, I mean, I know I lose years all the time And it's don't lose a day mourning them in the wind. Time, you cannot. They're not lost. You're still there. You're still in the belly of the whale. You're still Jonah and the whale moving forward.

28:25Oh, my God. I saw this thing. It was so good. Wait. I got to look for it. You got to look if I can see it. The whale is the ship as we. I just want to show you something. So, like, I'm going to show you this thing. I saw this. What looked like a Zen Buddhist monk talking about on Instagram. Okay. I'll show you that in a second. Remind me. I'll hold this in my hand. this cat lure to remind me because I'm not oh but here are you ready so you'll love this okay so so just to consume what we were saying it's like the most moving thing okay in the Christmas spirit right and someone who's someone who's a steward of the Christmas spirit like oh it's the people put up the like okay it's like it's the sight of them taking it down oh wow they are I love it they are doing the painful work.

29:17I mean, the hag divines when something must die, right? Yeah, it's over now. Death is part of life. There can be no rebirth. If they could just, a film of just, you know, unhooking the lights or whatever it is and da-da-da and putting it away, they are sowing. They are sowing the magic. That's the triumph. Yeah, putting them up is not the triumph, actually. It's taking them down. It's true. And I have to say, I felt profound. I felt an eerie sense of selfhood, taking down my Christmas stuff. Packing it away, I go, do I have three kids? What is this? Oh, yeah, yeah. I think also that is an acceptance of finite time again.

29:56You know, like you are participating. You are welcoming death. I know. Well, it's acceptance. But the Zen Buddhist is like, and I'm just saying Zen Buddhist, you know, but you know he seemed like one um he's got this thing and he's like you like in life he's like if if this is life he's like this is life and i'm just hanging this thing okay we'll show the people later all right i just have a thing hanging he's hanging a cat toy to be like a pendulum okay he pushes the pendulum away he's like you push you cause that okay yeah yeah he's like oh yeah you push it away it comes back you resist persists yeah yeah okay yeah exactly so i'm going okay i'm I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah.

30:38What we resist persists. Sure. He's like, you pull something towards you, you are setting in motion it going away. Okay. Now, it doesn't mean if you want something, don't pull it towards you. It's just the nature of, you know, take something, it will go. And it will always come back. Push it away, it will come back. You know, take it, it will leave. Right. And so he's then saying, yeah, yeah. He's then saying, no, yeah. And you might, you know, do you want to live in the swing? I mean, I probably do. He didn't say that. I mean, it was just what I extrapolated later in bed thinking, okay. But he's talking also then, so then you just let it hang.

31:15And he's like, you can also go through creating like no ripples, okay. He's like, you can still have a goal, you know. He's like, you still pursue a goal without it being like pushing shit away and pulling shit towards you, pushing shit away. You could sort of let – it was almost like you can pursue your goal while disturbing as little as possible. and that I don't know I have nothing to say about it other than there was something to it and when uh when those guys bring it to you and it actually hits stillness it hits I still don't have a rug um the search continues one of my god see your face right you you are someone who agonizes over decisions and if they're the right decision right so the look i just got for you was a shock because it almost looked like a normal person who doesn't understand yeah like like you know like it's crazy no but but it's like one choosing a color is one of and this has been an issue since i was a child i remember going into like like gap kids okay i've been there for hours No, choosing a color is so hard.

32:28Because you stare and you go, you look at one, you go, it's beautiful in its way. And then you look at another and you go, it's beautiful in its way. And I'll just say, I'll say what I'm holding. I'm holding a nail file. I agonized over the choice of what color nail file. See, yes, and you go. And agonize might be too strong a word. But there was like, for example, a clear one. Yeah, but you hesitated, you paused. And I go, and I go clear. No, no, no. I paused for like more than the average person, I would say. Yeah. Because I go, okay, this one's the first one that popped up. $9.99. there's different colors there's like a sunset one then there's just clear and i go well that's more chic just like a clear right but i go but why not have a little color have a little fun i know i know no no it's if you could hear the interior of the of the consumer okay like because i always make it about my life and what i need yeah the new life and so i go you know what i can't be afraid anymore have a little fun or you know it's time to stop fucking around and and no the fear that the choice will then define the next few years or the hope that it will rather i have to stop that's there's nothing worse filing your nails on air horrifying i'm not hearing it i also wouldn't be shocked if you and me both had a fidget type of activity like that going it's so weird you say that like if we were knitting oh you have a spinner i literally have a what's this called?

33:53Fidget spinner? Everyone knows that sound. Yeah, I was like, do I need to get... Well, it would make sense. I mean, because whatever I am holding, I'm doing some version of... I need to start... Well, I'm thinking about... So, by the way, you know how every five episodes, I'm showing you how I put my neck all the way back, and it goes all the way back, and it's really hard to pull it back up? And you're like, again with this? Okay? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've now become convinced that it's a hypermobile thing okay now i'm a i'm a part of hypermobile instagram oh like an ADD hypermobile and going like another thing always choking on your own saliva i've brought this up on the podcast that's an ADD thing no it's well it's a hypermobile thing which comorbid with hypermobile in a lot of cases i don't always that doesn't does that happen to you a lot i feel like I don't really hear that usually.

34:48Hear what? You choking on your own saliva. It happens to me all the time. Or with water, just like wrong tube more than often. Like walking and then like, no, it's a thing. Like a notable thing, like doesn't happen to Chris, happens to me all the time. Yeah, yeah. You know, like, are you all right? Yeah, I'm just, I just choked on my own saliva and I'm hacking. Like, and then it's like, it was this thing and there were like all these other things and there's like the trachea, like just my trachea just like move, like I can like feel it like move, like I can crunch it over. Yeah, yeah. and pretty sure that's not i mean the thumbs i don't think are a big deal i know some people think a full curled thumb is like something is that weird i can't see it wait i think well i mean what i'm showing is that like without yeah that is a little extra mobile but and then that and then nothing like acting like this was hard or something like to go one finger over the next finger over the next finger like and then over this one so so you see like a waterfall i mean that's yeah i mean child's play to me right and then and then they were like so so you know you can get views if you say you might be hypermobile if like it's making a lot of sense and then but yeah the way that my neck goes back i remember as a child in like these like gymnastics or dance classes when they would have us like just doing stretches in the beginning and they would do the neck rolls so i'd be doing all the way around and when i go to the back it felt like like like this feeling of it would flop back but then like then you couldn't get your neck your head back sort of but but pain like so it was almost like it would go all the way back but it would throw my neck out and like you know it was like so and then also you know limbo like being like extraordinary at limbo winning limbo oh at Every freaking party.

36:41Being like, excuse me, everyone. I haven't done limbo in ages. I know. And there's like a thing in you that like, if you're someone as a kid who's like, oh, I know I can limbo, right? There's a weird feeling like it because it feels almost like bother people who can't get as low or whatever. It's like, is that like an early sexually? It's like sexuality. It's acceptable. It's like. Yeah. I mean. There's something sexual about it. That's what I'm saying. Like it felt almost like, like, how low can you go? Like the, the, the competitor in me, right. Is almost a sexless competitor. Right. Which is like, oh, I'm going to like go as absolutely low as I can with, with like no shame, like, like, like it's competition.

37:28But then there's also this little part that feels a little bit kind of like, you know, I'm not afraid to go where others won't. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then, yes, I absolutely think these kind of like attention to the body, you know, it's like sixth grade and it's like time to bring out the stick. Yes. And everyone like, you know, lead with their pelvis. I think you're absolutely right. How were you at Limbo, Kate? I bet good. I think so. But I can't quite recall. But I think I was pretty good. Or were you protecting the neck? I could kind of see you being like. I think I was a little scared.

38:00Yeah. But I think I went pretty low. Hey, I have. Sorry, just to break in with something that I need. but I feel like you know about this a lot, but I've had it. I need a serious sun hat. And I have an SPS 50 sun hat from Australia that my friend has, but guess what? It doesn't cover my whole fucking face. And I - Welcome to my life. Really, I go on walks. I can't live without walks because of my rash. I haven't gone outside. I haven't gone on my usual walk. I did an evening walk yesterday, but I need my 10 ,000 step walk a day or I fall into disrepair. I wonder if you and me walk towards each other, how many steps that would be?

38:37Probably a lot. Thousands, not that much. But this is the kind of thing you say, let's talk about the best sun hat out there. And boy, do my ears perk up, okay? Because I've been screaming for years. But I need big. I need big. I need it to not just cover my cock-sucking forehead. I'm trying to say, folks. I need chin. Every hat. Remember when you wanted a bucket hat? And I'm like, that's not going to cut it. For like poog merch? Okay. Now I know you're going to reject, but I will say there's a reason I wore those visors. I know. I know. Okay. So just take a minute with it. Okay. Okay. And I got news for you.

39:16Your little hats that you wear, I'm not going, who's that movie star? Okay. I know. Like you think my hat sucks. Like the classic photo of you in one of your like safari hats. Yeah. So I think you can let go. My hats are ugly. huge so so huge brim visor or visor right i'm just looking because i haven't seen in a while now i think i'm too vain i'm too vain for visor is the truth i just it's just the truth but you're acting like you fundamentally believe that it doesn't have to be a visor i'm just saying it needs to be that level of you know i'm looking as my no no it's not going to be pretty okay by the way well here's the thing what about and see this is the most extreme version right which i can't do the full glass or plastic visor where you can't even see the person's face right so let me look at that dr idris makes one you serious hi and by the way dr idris i want the full line i want the anti-redness line as we're both embarking on rosacea yeah i want the full dr idris line and by the way i've actually said that i have purchased out of pocket and enjoyed the roller the dr idris so i'm saying yeah redness is one of his um oh the de puffer roll-on serum yeah the de puffer roll-on serum i was talking about her nurse's assistant okay i was talking about the the boy below her okay i know she's the doctor okay i was talking with a physician's assistant who I believe his name is is it is it Carrie it's um Carl by the way I'm like believing you even though I know it's a bit um yeah I know nothing of Idris and this is also this is also what's interesting about just being on the internet so I've been as we all know rehabilitating from being online I'm doing very well I have to say um I still haven't engaged it's been I think I'm basically a month without looking at Instagram and the visual thing like like idris she would i would just be watching her she just got in and then she became she became my guru she was watching i go i'll do whatever she does and it worked i bought things she told me to i bought her roll on serum and guess what i really like it okay i want to hear what good copywriting is okay from an old gal to me the cleanser i thought you were just going to read some dr egypt's copy i am okay complete daily cleanser soft wash i used for that soft wash that's a good name i bought one i bought a travel size one i liked it i can't believe that's not taken i can't believe no one got to that soft wash that's lovely because you think of a oh a soft wash of light across the face a soft it's and we all need our cleanser to be gentle we all need it so this is a jelly cleanser well jacqueline because of my rash and i'm using nothing not even moisturizer right now not even sunscreen and this is just you know day two of this but i go am i going to be is this actually what i needed the stripping everything's being stripped away and instead i'm becoming cedophil you know where it's like i wash with cedophil i have a ceravee moisturizer like the spoils of poog too many products right introducing too many products i don't know i can't yeah i mean well certainly but you were by the way jacqueline novak what a friend because i was sending jacqueline forensic photos of my face and And Jacqueline's going, okay, what date is that?

42:39Send me earlier. Keep going back. She's studying my face in the photos. Oh, yeah. I go, send me one from Jan 8. She's like, here it is. I'm like, I go, show me Christmas. I go, show me Christmas. Yeah, yeah. And then going, show me your sunglasses, because the shadow of your sunglasses seems to be corresponding with a line of where the rosacea starts. The sun, I know. And it's pretty interesting. but I'm curious but here's the things that have been said to me they go well you know rosacea is a form of acne and then you go why? trust me I know but it's because of these ideas you know why is that it's like well that's only a problem if you have some kind of idea about acne that means a certain thing which you know the culture has sold us very convincingly might I add but I'm just thinking about I'm kind of curious because I have found myself struggling recently with, actually I have it.

43:41Do I have it with me? Oh yeah, here. I've been using this. I don't because I just, I'm not always in the mood to pump it out, rub it, and apply to the whole face. It's just, there's something about like one, you know, I don't know. It's like, it's like. Wait, wait, pump what? Just a product? With SPF. Okay. Like I'm going out. Oh, I need to put on SPF. And then it makes me aware of like, am I doing a good enough job? Should I be doing the ears? So then I always feel unsatisfied. Anyway, so I grabbed this recently. Well, here let's say something. Reapplying, that's where I feel. Oh, yeah, I've got that.

44:11That's good. What is this? Oh, Bloom Effects. Bloom Effects. So I've just been dragging this across the face. It's a bar, like a deodorant, but it's, yeah. So I drag, drag, drag. Yeah, drag, drag, drag. And then I sort of rub and I feel like, all right, I got it. And then I carry it in my pocket and just go pretty hard with it. And then. That's good. But I think, but it needs to be hot. Don't forget the eyelids themselves. See, I've completely forgotten those and just believed that that's like you don't put anything there. And you're right. I've been forgetting them. But I'm just thinking. By the way, my favorite sunscreen, which is new on the market for me.

44:47Elta MD Color Correcting SPF. So it's green. And I've been using the shit out of that the last few weeks. Okay, hold on. Oh, welcome. Sweetie, welcome to green products now. And I mean the color green. Green. Green. Green products always offset the red. Oh, yeah. That's why. Yeah, yeah. It's incredible. And the green Elta MD, I bought it out of pocket at Larchmont Beauty. Shout out to Larchmont Beauty. And I was like, well, this is my new daily. And then it's not makeup, but the color correction makes you feel. Color correcting, broad tint. Color corrected. Broad spectrum tint, UV skin recovery.

45:27Yes. Broad tint. It's green. Or wait, wait, wait. No, no, no. Is the bottle green? Or just this little green thing on it? No, the bottle's not green. It's a pump. And what comes out is green. Color correcting, green tint, broad spectrum. Yeah, UV skin recovery. I think this is all the thing. I think this is all it. I'm just looking. And then I'm kind of just curious what, who was the one? Oh, you know what I always got? This has always sold you redness. And I think it's good. I know exactly what you're going to say. Sick of repair. Dr. Jart. Yep. I know exactly what we're going to say. dr jart dr jart has been she's been owning this for that is good shit really long time and by the way that same stuff you know they came out with the it was like because that was the hit the tiger bomb or whatever it's called tiger bomb yeah yeah or uh and then yeah the line expanded the line blew blew up and then so i'm looking right now i'm going centella barrier cream sicka that's how i say but i don't know repair and then um i was using one of those yeah the green and i first learned about the green back when I was a child in these Smashbox primers, and there was the green one.

46:36I was like, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Let me just see here. You know who, talk about the Dr. Jart face masks, that branding with the rubber face looking. Can you picture it? The really intense face masks. I feel like Jart is king. All right, so I want to just, I want to lock down. I want to get my, point is, I might get my visor again, but I haven't done this search in a couple years, and I want to see what's out there. I saw someone with a big hat, and I almost stopped her and said, where'd you get your big hat? But for whatever reason, I didn't. Yeah. So now what about, do you remember, it was like, the thing, I've tried in experiments, you can't really walk around with one of those beach hats that's like you know comically fashion big you know i'm talking about yeah like it's like can't really do it i'm just like a big flower it's like soft and around yeah yeah it's like covering like you can't do it you can do that on the beach spf visor you try to look that up and then the beauty brands give you serums because they've adopted that language to mean like an like do you see what I'm saying oh a serum yeah it'll be like lip visor actually Dr.

47:57Aegis prequel is offering that right that's kind of interesting I want the Dr. Aegis lip based duo I'm just looking up like UPF like um because there was this one brand who's this brand oh you know who like has owned the space for a while Coolaroo I feel like they were an early early poog like they offer shades for moments that matter wait wait wait i must be this can't be right because this is like actual shades i don't mean cool i don't mean cool i mean it was upf clothing and they were what the fuck was it oh right oh coolabar coolabar and solbari coolabar and solbari what is that solbari is the hat that i own My God.

48:46All right, hold on. I'm going to go to Silbari. Silbari is the hat that I own. Let's see. I just hate the feeling of a hat going to fly off. And it also means my hat – here's the other problem for me. It means my hair has to be down. So then I'm out and it's hot and there's sun. And then my hair is down against my neck. So my dream is – Silbari actually has a hole for a ponytail, but imagine. But you don't use it. I can't do that, I think. I would consider it because what do I give a shit, you know? It's like I would love if it were more like bonnet and it would hold my hair. Like if I could just throw it up like it's almost like in a bun and then the hat goes in and somehow holding the bun in there.

49:26So it's got my hair off my neck. See, you know where I go immediately? Custom. You and me designed the perfect hat. It's so funny. You go custom. It's so funny. Never in a million years do I go custom. I'm like, fuck. I'm like, I could do this. I'm like, I could really do this. And then I start. I wonder if I'm drawn to you because, you know, my grandfather was an inventor. My dad's dad. Oh, my God. Do you not know this about me? You must have told me at some point. Like, hardcore. And, in fact, there's a photo. It's very also ADD. It's like, you know, brain style. ADD inventor mindset. Water thinking.

50:03Patterns. Anyway, go on. No, I'm like, look, I mean, like this. Look, I have this opposite. Look at this. That's my grandfather. Do you see this? Oh, my God. That's him. He invented the film camera? Well, he invented a kind of recorder called the Berlant Concert Tone. That's insane. Let me just take a quick look at what Koolabar is offering. Okay. See, this is interesting. Like, they've got, you know, you could just live in Koolabar. Like, you know, like, oh, I only wear Koolabar. The fuck is Koolabar? I'll show you the hats. Let's see. Now, some are funny. Like, some have, like, some of the face covering.

50:40You ready? some of these i must say have a deep brim a lot of these i mean technically speaking or any of these sorry this is boring but i'm looking oh damn but but you know if you go to their whole site okay go to their let's check out men's hats maybe those will be bigger and they have by the way i'm gonna start to need to doing this which is the full face mask part if i'm gonna that's what i'm You see that woman? Yeah. So all, so it's, it's like next flap. It's, it's a bit much. I mean, I also, I just can't do it. Wouldn't be, what if, what if on it, you said like, what if, what if it was that again, another thing I'd invent.

51:22Okay. But the mask, so that, so these are sun hats and then they have a clip on piece that covers the entire front of the face, leaving nothing but the eyes. I'm saying custom front flaps we put out there and says things like, this is due to rosacea or like just like just like seriously it's a medical issue doctor's orders no it'd be doctor's orders totally just big letters doctor's orders by the way i'm about to i'm about to right now buy this hat okay which one that one by the way you'll hate this one star because the website has a bug and they got the wrong color no no no no no no it's like Like get a grip.

52:02You know what I mean? Yeah. Get a grip and realize what the purpose of the review system is. I'm seeing that this has good best hat ever. I hated this novel because it arrived wrinkled. I mean. I know. I know. All right. I'm about to right now live on air by this. Oh, shit. But shouldn't I wait for them to send it for free? What's it called? This is the Kula Bar Ultra Wide Sun Hat in black. Okay. Yeah, this is very... Wait, I wonder if I have this one. Oh, the pink one's half off, but Lord knows I can't be. I have a big black hat like this. Really? And I wonder if I got it from them. It looks massive.

52:43It's$70. It looks about right. The turquoise color is$35.99, but it's too hideous. Let me look at it. Yeah, I mean... I just can't do that. Why'd they even make that? And the terracotta is not terracotta. that's pink sweetheart last i checked let me see the terracotta terracotta is not on sale and that yeah it is terracotta is on sale by the way if that's terracotta i'm freaking oh no wait tan couldn't even think what to say i'm not sharp anymore i'm not even seeing terracotta oh the pink oh terracotta rose okay that ain't terracotta okay okay rose there what just laughing like if you want to eavesdrop on a couple of girls shopping together.

53:24I'm buying it. Wait. Wait. Don't do it yet. I have an idea. Okay, okay. I'm going to put it in the hag shop. You buy it there, I think we get a kickback. It's genius. Let me see if a cool bar pops up. And by the way, if anyone's listening right now, you better be shopping in that. You better be going to the hag shop. If you think I'm not. You better be doing all your shopping in the hag shop. I am literally doing the SPF cool bar hat. Let's see. It looks nice and wide. I got to be honest. Yes. Let's see. It does. And it's 50 plus SPF. It better be. We've got a chin strap, seven inch brim, seven inches.

54:02Damn. I'm going to pick my favorite hat in the store. You're saying that link that you just sent me. I buy it there? Yeah. Okay. They don't seem to offer any whatever, but it's still good to be able to, if we send a lot of hats their way, they see a lot of purchase come from our site, then we can really talk to them and go look. I want to make a custom by the way guys I'm buying it right now$70 that ain't cheap but I need a more serious hat this is crazy see I want something that is umbrella sunglasses oh you know it's another I mean you can walk with a parasol okay no never gonna happen really no and they used to do it all the time that to me is like they used to do it you know women in the park Sundays in the park with George when I'm walking I need to be I need to be free it's meditative for me i can't i can't be holding that standard ground eight dollars i'm gonna head over to men's because sometimes these sites this this kind of gear the men's and the women's the women's always have these like shapes that do not call to me jesus this is we go shipping taxes 83 dollars swim bottoms oh rash guards wait jacqueline should i buy it's 83 I got news for you.

55:13Hats are not cheap. So go for it. That's not that bad. Walking to Nordstrom's, I don't know if you ever tried to buy a sun hat at Nordstrom's. Right,$120. $120 they start. Easy. Okay, cool bar. It's on the way. Yay! Oh my god. Cool bar. All right. Sun hat accessories. I'm going to pop over to the outlet, see what's under$40. Fuck. I'll be in the outlet. Okay. Oh, a little dress. I mean, if I'm going to start swimming seriously in the apartment pool, don't I need head to toe kind of coverage? Absolutely. Absolutely. Guess what I do tomorrow morning? Are you sitting down? Yeah. 11 a.m. Spanish class.

55:56Live? In person? Zoom. Why didn't you invite me? I mean, I don't know. Why don't you say, hey, Fran, want to learn with me? Well, I'm not at the most base beginner. So am I? Spanish? I've never taken Spanish. No, I'm not. I'm not at the base beginner. Oh, bitch. I'm very good with languages, okay? I studied linguistics, okay? Well, I'm starting Spanish class tomorrow. Amazing. And sorry, I'm just looking at a pullover shrug in the outlet section. See, I just need something I can throw on. And fundamentally, I guess I'd want a hooded and hooded and brimmed poncho that goes all the way down in a set of colors.

56:40So no matter what, I just throw that on and out I go. Hooded and brimmed poncho. I can't even picture what that is. What a poncho is? Well, I'm not sure that. Let me see. I'm not sure that ponchos like traditionally have that. I don't think. Poncho with a brim? Let's see.

56:59Oh, yeah. No, they do. They do. I mean, they have a little brim. But I could totally see. Oh, wait. Here's a... Poncho with a brim. Poncho with a brim. Poncho with a brim. Hey, hey, hey. And brim and brim. Yeah. Poncho with a brim. Poncho with a brim. All the ladies love to wear Jacqueline's poncho with a brim. She sells them for a dear price. She sells them for a dear price. A dear price. But everybody pays because they are so good. And it's musical. all right see this looks cool i love a big a big a big over the top now these are rain ponchos but like i just love this shape i love like like i just came across this poncho just looking around based on nothing i'm gonna send it to you oh wait no it was sent poncho with a brim fuck poncho with a brim poncho with a brim what was i trying to build custom oh i had this idea of the cat litter behind a custom screen.

58:02But I was going to get a vintage, just like a nice or secondhand fireplace multi-paneled screen, and then the litter would be behind it. And then I was imagining, and then I was imagining, are you ready? When I was looking on Marketplace, et cetera, I see a lot of them selling them with the fireplace tools, right? Oh, uh-huh. The blow. The blow poke and such.

58:25And when they find the blow poke and it's covered in spider webs. Oh, my gosh. They go, don't fucking move it. Yeah. The blow poke. Spider webs form pretty quickly, though, I'll say. Yeah, you make a good point. Isn't that exactly how it went down in Charlotte's Web? I mean, that's why he was able to write, like, call it, like, the pig is terrific. Oh, yeah. Terrific. So I nearly became a puppeteer today. Again, this is always happening. Okay, puppets are always calling me. I went to a state sale, went home with some stuff. We'll talk about that later. I now have a bag full of papers from two different estate sales both at which I paid for paper essentially papers?

59:02I mean like papers like someone's like their drawings and then another thing their clippings oh wow I almost became a puppeteer why was I saying that building oh I know so then I was like yeah the fireplace screen obscures the litter box right but keeps it open air okay for them because they kind of like it like that And then I was doing it because of the fire tools. I was like, oh my God. I was like, instead of this furniture that's like, oh, it's your side table, but it has like a cat shaped door. And it's like, oh, that's your side table, but actually the litter's in there. Imagine full hearth.

59:38It's like full hearth. It's like, looks like a fireplace. Oh, at the house? Yeah. Like for cat owners. It's like, I love that hearth with the mantle. And it's, but it's actually litter. And it's, it's a litter box is back there. And then the tools are like the scooper. That is so.

59:58Jacqueline does it again Oh my god that's so funny I know isn't that glorious Well I think we're going to end on that invention Because that's unbelievable And then for those of you who support the show We're going to move into Product Corner Hell yeah To reveal some specific items that we're entranced by Alright well we gotta say bye Love you bye Love you Thank you.

1:00:53Thank you.
