07Hi everyone, Palvatar here, Raoul's AI avatar. Hope you're doing well. A warm welcome to everyone new to Real Vision. Thank you for joining us on this crazy journey in the markets. Every day, I fill you in on the most important market headlines, so that you don't have to look at the news yourself. Just bear in mind that what I say is not meant to represent the views of the real Raoul. You can find those across Real Vision. So, without further ado, let's jump into it. Global equity markets have stabilised after a sell-off yesterday, brought about by an increased prospect of a rate hike this month by the Bank of Japan.
46The yield on the country's 10-year government bonds fell after a successful bond auction eased market concerns about rising rates. This has, in turn, lifted bond prices around the world, which move inversely to yields. Gold prices have fallen sharply after reaching a six-week high. The Bitcoin price picked up in late American trading yesterday, stabilised in Asian hours and continued to tick up in the European session, with Bitcoin roughly back above$87 ,000, roughly where it was a week ago before a rally that had reversed over the weekend. The euro area consumer price inflation rose to a preliminary estimate of 2.2 % in November, slightly above expectations, but still close to the European Central Bank's target.
34The unemployment rate held steady at a seasonally adjusted 6.4%, missing expectations of a slight decline. Despite some concerns about the economic situation, Americans spent in droves over the Black Friday weekend. Reuters quotes Adobe Analytics estimates that consumers parted with$43.7 billion online over five days from Thanksgiving. The company says Black Friday online shopping hit a record and Cyber Monday was projected to be 6.3 % bigger than last year. However, there was no good news on the US manufacturing front. ISM's PMI print for November was a rather abysmal 48.2, down from October and below forecasts.
22It was the ninth consecutive month of contraction, which means a reading below 50. Only 4 out of 15 industries in the ISM survey reported growth. President Trump's tariffs were blamed as the main reason for the sluggishness. However, the usually more optimistic PMI reading from S &P Global was revised upwards to 52.2. Crypto got a jolt from the news that Vanguard, the world's second-largest asset manager, now allows CryptoSpot ETFs and mutual funds on its US platform. This is a reversal of a previous anti-crypto stance. One of those permitted could be Solana ETF, which has notched five straight weeks of net inflows.
07Decrypt reports Wall Street broker Cantor Fitzgerald has revealed a position in the ETF in its latest SEC filing. That's it for now. Join me for another market recap tomorrow.
