In short
Crypto market outlook and macro drivers (liquidity, Fed regime, risk assets), plus Web3/NFT maturation and MeBits’ World Cup–themed NFT/IP platform.
Guest
Sergio Sergito Silva, CEO of MeBits (Real Vision fan favorite). Background: long-term crypto investor focused on MeBits; founder/operator in Web3; previously involved with art/collectibles culture and museum-grade NFT/IP positioning.
Key claims
Crypto may “close the gap” versus assets like Nasdaq after the Oct 10 drawdown; January/early Feb was the worst; a “friendly Fed regime” could support risk assets; investors should avoid leverage and stay long-term. NFTs are maturing from 2021 “bubble” trading toward community-building, utility, and art validation (MoMA collecting punks; museums exhibiting generative art). Strategy tokens can create an ecosystem flywheel, but should avoid rigid/non-upgradable contracts and avoid “meme coin” exit-liquidity models.
Notable examples
MeBits Football (World Cup prediction/fantasy, six-country initial drop, larger drop next month); LarvaLabs IP (CryptoPunks, Autoglyphs, Quine); Chimpers GIF commissions; Board Ape community “clubs”; Hyperliquid as a dominant perp DEX; Mexico World Cup opener vs South Africa (June 11).

And today we're joined by Real Vision fan favorite Sergio Sergito Silva, CEO of MeBits, but you guys already know him well. Sergio, thanks for joining us. How are you doing today? Hey, man, I'm good. Thank you for having me. Yeah, absolutely. We always love having these conversations with you and checking up on the market. So I just want to ask you, just how are your vibes on the market these days? What's your take on what's going on?
0:47Bijan:I mean, they're good, right? I think we are seeing an opportunity here for crypto to close the gap versus all the other assets that are obviously at highs or hitting record new highs. If you graph, for example, Bitcoin as we're seeing it now versus like Nasdaq or something like that, you see the big impact that October 10th left. And I feel like that's a really big opportunity for crypto to catch up on those. So yeah, I think we went through the worst in January, early Feb, unless something dramatically changes in Iran. Those things seem to be out of kind of like the risk on the top of mind. And obviously, we might get a new feature here very, very soon.
1:37Bijan:I just saw before the show that the DOJ is stopping its investigation of Chairman Powell, which is one of the prerequisites for some of the senators on the Republican side who are withholding votes for Warsh. And so that might clear the path to a very, very, very friendly new Fed regime. And so, yeah, it feels good.
2:02Sergito:Yeah, it does feel good, you know, right? A friendly Fed regime. And, you know, recently Julian Patel also just charted kind of showing us how U.S. liquidity and global liquidity are rising right now. and that historically has been, you know, good for risk on assets. So it does feel like we're in kind of, I don't want to jinx it, but it does feel like we're kind of in that moment. But you know, you talked about the elephant in the room and, you know, the geopolitical situation and like, it's impossible to predict these black swans. So like, how does someone like you, who's like seasoned in this market, who's, you know, knows what's going on, how do you like, you navigate kind of what's going on in the market with these like looming potential of black swans and we're in the middle of a war?
2:48Sergito:How do you like navigate that as an investor?
2:51Bijan:Yeah, I mean, I think I've mentioned before when I've been here, right? I'm more long-term focused on EBITs right now. And so that's my day to day. And just have my position set. I have conviction in what I have on. And yeah, if things get really, really out of place, I take a closer look, see what's happening. Is that something that's temporary? Did this completely change the picture? Is there an opportunity to maybe add more? And then just go back to what I'm doing. And so for now, obviously January, February, we're very scary. I was very, very quick. The move definitely caught me by surprise, definitely flat put it.
3:26Bijan:But coming out of it, I think it's obviously we all know that you mentioned geopolitical. This administration is focused on keeping the stock market up. like risk assets is or are kind of like the way they measure success. And you've seen it from all the headline roulette and very, very intentional commentary before market opens and so on. And so in that sense, unless you're really putting yourself at risk with leverage, it doesn't really make sense to try to get cute. You can definitely pick and time things, but I think over the long term, the themes are very, very, very clear. Obviously, Julian and Rao always tracking liquidity, but also you can look at stuff like industrial production.
4:11Bijan:You can look at stuff like trucking capacity. That's kind of showing us that manufacturing is, even though we've had job losses in that sector, it started to take back up. Those things are coming back into line. And I think that sets a good, at least a good investing kind of like scenario for the almost second half of the year here. And I will be at the half point of the year in what, 60 days, which is crazy. I know.
4:38Sergito:It just happens so fast. Like it feels like we literally just hit the year and we're already almost, you know, ending Q2. So you touched on it and I definitely, you know, you're a builder and I definitely want to talk about like what you're building and what you're doing in, you know, in Web3 and in this industry in general. So let's talk me bits. Let's let's talk about what you're doing. What's can you I guess, where are you guys? Where's me bits right now today? And like, what are you what are you guys working towards, I guess, for the remainder of the year and into the future?
5:11Bijan:Yeah, thank you. Me bits are turning five years old on June 3rd. So we are throwing a celebration both here in New York and in Lisbon over the next couple of months. So next weekend, if you guys are in New York, please stop by. We are having an artist panel with Larvalabs, the creators of MeBits, obviously CryptoPunks, Autoglyphs, and Quine. We'll be celebrating with them at a soccer store called Saturday's Football, which is an awesome place in Soho. We'll have the panel and then a little cocktail reception. MeVets, to me, are an incredible IP platform that we're trying to use to showcase the power of non-fungible tokens in the sense that, obviously, we've seen it with many different approaches in the past.
5:56Bijan:Some have worked, some haven't. But NFTs, Web3, just humanity, right? We're all about identity and community. And so with the World Cup coming up this summer, especially it being mostly played here in the States, but also in my home country of Mexico and our neighbors up north in Canada, it's a great opportunity to showcase what we're seeing with so many other communities, you know, going back to the early Internet days of Internet forums and Reddit and community boards. And so we launched what I think you're showing here on screen, which is MiBits football. And this is us using the MiBits IP as a foundation to then create opportunities for people to interact with MiBits, but also to have fun around the beautiful game, which is obviously football or soccer.
6:42Bijan:And so we did an initial drop a couple of months ago. We did six countries. So these are MiBit inspired avatars. We call them MiBit collectibles. wearing the uniforms of the different countries. And we'll do a much larger drop here next month. So people will be able to buy this kind of hybrid trading card slash figurines, like collectibles, on the digital form. We're digital first, we're digital native. People came here for digital. And then you'll be able to use those to play different games on our site, which we'll be launching next month as well, which will include the ability to create brackets, to place predictions, to play kind of like mini fantasy soccer.
7:26Bijan:And we're seeing this as just a huge opportunity to showcase the power of digital assets beyond speculation. Obviously, you can also speculate on them. But for us, you know, IP that is timeless, that was created by artists whose work is collected by the MoMA, the LACMA, the Whitney, the Pompidou, the ICA, Toledo Museum of Art, like so many world-class institutions. we have this ability to kind of just merge that world with the fun world of sport. And obviously this global event that happens every four years, it's the biggest event in the world. Every single world cup match has the same TV audience.
8:04Bijan:That's equivalent to a super bowl. So this time around, we'll have 48 teams instead of 32, but in the previous formats, every single soccer, every single world cup match, literally same audience as the super bowl. And then obviously that goes up higher and higher as you get, you know, knockout stage in the final and so on. And you've seen the demand for tickets here in the States. I mean, you know, cheapest ticket for the final here in New York is like$30 ,000 now in secondary. So, yeah, that's what we're doing. We're saying, hey, listen, like this is a really good way for people to come in and explore digital asset ownership identity, right?
8:41Bijan:If you have a Mivid, that's where I have a little physical here because we're doing 3D prints of them. Well, I think it's getting caught in the green screen. They are little trading cards, but with IP that's personable and that you can use as digital toys. So a bunch of things we're throwing into the cauldron and hoping that people can explore NFTs beyond the idea of spending$80 ,000 on CryptoPunk and using it just as your PFP or on a board ape or some of the other. you know, collections that we like. This is more like, hey, these are digital artifacts, digital toys that are unique, that give you access to fun experiences online.
9:26Bijan:And then obviously that you own, right? It's not like a membership that you pay or like an app that you download and you pay$10 a month and you can't do anything with it as far as ownership goes. This is you really owning that experience. And if you want to sell them, if you want to speculate on them, you're going to hold them forever, then you can do that. And there's no need for us to give you permission which I think is a beautiful thing about crypto and that's what we're trying to showcase. We'll definitely have some physical stuff. So we'll have some physical jerseys. We have some really cool other physical products that I won't spoil the surprise yet.
10:02Bijan:But yeah, this is our big bet using a platform like the World Cup and an IP platform like the MiVets to showcase the power of digital asset ownership and bringing identity and community together.
10:16Sergito:Yeah, that's, that's, that's honestly a beautiful thing. Right. And, and I love that it's like with, with the world cup coming, it makes so much sense because soccer football is a, is a sport that brings people all around the world together. So like, it's just seems like it goes so well, well, hand in hand. And, and like, and I love what you are doing. And I think you are one of the few founders now in kind of this space that's showcasing kind of the new era of what, I guess, NFTs, digital collectibles are transitioning to, right? That's activations, you know, community experiences, really hammering home the IP and the products.
10:56Sergito:Is this something that like, you know, your colleague founders are like, you know, kind of understanding that this is the transition that the market of, you know, NFTs is going into. Like, how do you see this development right now from like where we were in like, you know, the previous NFT bull market, like where we are right now? How is that playing out in your mind?
11:18Bijan:Yeah, well, the previous market was just the bubble where you just made money from existing, right? Which was awesome as a collector and trader at the time. And I'm guessing it was really cool too for some of the founders that like had the royalty situation going on um you know i i don't like to subscribe to the idea there's only one way of doing something um and so there's definitely different playbooks in in the space and i think you know it's really cool to see different projects try different things and so you have like you know azuki like really going into trading cards you have obviously board apes like really going to like this yet club idea irl and you've seen the market react to that.
11:56Bijan:And then some other IPs trying different things. You know, there's a project that's just going full, you know, animation studio. And for us, I think what we are doing is, first of all, we are very privileged that we have MiBits, the IP itself. It hasn't been created by Matt and John from Larver Labs. There are pieces that will be in museums one day. And so that everything that we do always stands on that foundation of like, These are art pieces that we can do really fun things with in the community-wise. So for us, it's a combination of things. And I'm excited to see other projects do their own thing.
12:34Bijan:But I think you're right. There is three or four elements that kind of like, they don't guarantee success, but it's what holders and communities like, which is you really paying attention to the NFT and not so much from a floor perspective. I think people are starting to understand that these are very, very much just high beta assets to risk markets and really far at the risk curve. There's projects that have done incredible things, billions of views on social media whose floor price might not reflect that. Or you see a really big disconnect within one project and another one that have similar metrics of what was thought of as success.
13:15Bijan:And they're far away from each other. So I think people understand that. What communities want to see is that you are really taking them with you as you're building and whatever it is that you're building. So, for example, I just saw Chimpers today. They announced that you can pretty much commission the team to create GIFs with your Chimpers and you pay in their strategy token. And so that creates this little flywheel that goes back into the ecosystem, buying floor pieces, burning token, and so on. so that's the kind of stuff people want to see i mentioned board apes right like they're doing like really leaning into um helping community like local ape clubs and communities get together um they're celebrating five years as well actually yesterday was their anniversary um and then for us it's more again we're pushing on the art side we've been at every single art battle since miami so miami katar hong kong actually just got invited to go to art battle the main show in Switzerland.
14:13Bijan:And so we'll be there. We're doing some plotter pen prints with pen plotter prints with Matt and John that people can collect. So these are signed prints by Larvalabs. Again, they're just collected by the MoMA in December. You can have a piece of, or you can have a print that is signed and created by Larvalabs in your living room of a MiBit. And even if you don't have a MiBit, we have an open edition, a little show there. But, you know, I think there's sort of me like Warhol prints down the line where, you know, we're building in that direction, but at the same time doing like the fun stuff with football.
14:48Bijan:So, yeah, Web3 is waking up again to this idea of, hey, we're building this together. Bring the holders with you. Be very clear about your kind of like where you're going so people can either vote to be in or out. Right. You can vote your wallet in Web3, which is great. And then don't forget the NFTs. We saw some of the projects that got pretty big outside of NFTs just completely forget about NFTs. And they're obviously getting left behind now. And you're seeing that reflected in the market. And then you've seen some teams scramble back, tweet out NFT just to try to capture that. But the reality is they haven't paid attention to their NFTs in a while.
15:25Bijan:So yeah, people are starting to see through that, the small gun screens. Yeah.
15:31Sergito:And I think, you know, one thing about me bits in particular, I think makes you guys very unique is you guys do have that, that art, you know, culture about you as well as that PFP community culture as well. So it's like two, like really unique things working in one, which I think is what makes me bits very unique. Now we, we, we kind of talked about like the evolution of like the communities in web three and like how founders are thinking about it. But like Rao loves the art side of NFTs, right? He's very into, you know, digital art and unique one of ones. How do you see that part of the NFT space developing?
16:11Bijan:Yeah, it's every time I think of Rao buying digital art, I'm very proud because, you know, it's something that I think sends a really good message to the people in his circle, in the more traditional finance side and stuff. So it's always good to have people like Raoul and so many others have come into the space and really embraced it. And it's funny because you say NFTs to somebody who's mostly on that side, on the digital art side, and they think of 101s, they think of pure digital art. And you say NFTs to somebody that is not on that side, and they think of PFPs. And for me, that's really funny because the reality is NFT is just a file format, right?
16:56Bijan:It's like saying PDF. You don't say this is my airplane ticket PDF. You don't say like, this is like, you know, whatever my PDF. You just say this is my airplane ticket or like whatever you print from the computer that used to be a PDF. So NFT is the same thing. So for digital art that's tokenized, obviously we've seen a lot of consolidation, I would say, in terms of the market coming to reality. Obviously we've mentioned the bubble before. or you just make money by existing. There's nothing about technology that changes human nature other than enhancing it. And so you do see power loss be exhibited.
17:35Bijan:There were some people that made really smart investments or sort of build their collection thinking, okay, these are the top five, 10 artists. I'm just fully gonna collect that versus others who were just kind of like going in different directions. And so you're starting to see that play out where the markets come down a little bit from where it used to be. And you've seen some consolidation around like, you know, who the main, I don't say artists, but like who the people, the collectors like the most. And it's always kind of like walking on eggshells where you're talking about that because people feel like, you know, they're not selling, you know, they're not good.
18:08Bijan:And that's just not the case. And you see that in traditional art as well, right? Like there's, you know, walk through any museum. I was just at the Met a couple of weeks ago with Mrs. Sergito. And there's like huge, huge paintings there by people that you've never heard of. And they are at the Met. You go to the MoMA, it's kind of like similar. Yeah, you have the Frida Kahlo's and you have the Van Gogh's and you got all these. But then you see like really beautiful paintings of people you've never heard about. So it's just digital art, technology just enhances human nature. And so we're seeing that play out in a similar manner.
18:45Bijan:And obviously, a lot of people thought, you know, because it's technology, things are going to be different, things are going to be like decentralized. So that means that anybody, you know, can win. And it does mean that, but, you know, doesn't change human nature. So it's been five years of consolidation in a really good way. I think you see institutions continue to validate the idea, right? We mentioned earlier, the MoMA collected, I think it was 12 punks in December. you had the Toledo Museum of Art which is one of the top museums in the world just don't know that I didn't know that they had an incredible exhibition for generative art that combined you know some NFTs in there obviously you had you know the punk at the pumpy do and the glyph so like little by little we're making inroads it's just it takes time like anything right like people were not just gonna like you see it with like sports when like a new sport comes in if you look at like skateboarding in the Olympics, right?
19:43Bijan:Skateboarding has been a gigantic pastime in a big sport for 34 years. And it took a while to get into the Olympics. Doesn't take anything away from skateboarding or the athletes that practice skateboarding themselves. And it might fall out of the Olympics, just like breakdancing the last time around with a crazy Australian girl. So, but that type of validation does not change what people are doing on a day-to-day basis, right? Like there's great artists coming to the space every single day. There's great collectors coming in. There's people that have chosen to leave and that's fine. And I just think we're maturing little by little.
20:22Bijan:And again, following a more natural transition into established architecture. You see Art Basel, I just mentioned it, right? Like they have 010. They had it in Hong Kong. It was a massive success. Miami was a massive success. You have stuff like Node Foundation opening up their gallery in the heart of Palo Alto, first with punks, now with people. They're also bringing in artists from the community to do shows. So, yeah, it's going a more normal progression rather than what people got fooled into thinking because things went, you know, 20 ,000x in three months in 2021. and it is exciting to see maturity it's exciting to see people kind of like the ones to stick around um really develop a taste what they like i mean i look at my own collection and i'm like man what was i thinking but then i look at some stuff that i was like you know i really like this and i'm glad that i bought this um and and so it's just it's just maturing right we were like a toddler back in 21 as an industry now we're starting to be a little bit more of a serious teenager we still have drama and all that stuff but we're maybe starting to think about which college we want to go to or what field of story study we want to take that's the way i see it yeah and i like i like
21:34Sergito:how it is developing because now we're allowing like it seems like people can actually like build things and be creative as opposed to you know the toxic i don't well yes toxicity that we had before and kind of demand that really focused on floor price as opposed to actually like creativity and building and you know because it's a new industry right i mean yeah price is obviously important and there's real money going in, but that's not the essence of what we're actually doing here. So it's really refreshing to hear you go through all of that and describe it. Now, I'd be remiss, Sergio, if I didn't mention it, because you mentioned Flywheel and you mentioned CryptoPunks.
22:13Sergito:I want to ask you about, because a few months ago, we had the evolution of those strategy coins just blew up, and we saw people get so excited with it. And it was really fun and we saw them help NFT projects. What's your view on them now as we've seen them come, maybe go, maybe they're still around, but what's your take on these strategy coins now?
22:39Bijan:Yeah. We at MeBits were the first ones to really take the strategy token that was tied to our project and run with it with Meep's strategy. And I think it's a great idea. I think I'm a quite vocal, not enemy, but just, I don't like this idea of like dropping a meme coin to NFT communities. And then it just, it becoming nothing other than exit liquidity for the teams and just like some weird sort of hope for people to hold it. You know, we've seen a couple of projects just really go in that direction, not my cup of tea. And with the strategy tokens, what it does, it ties trading in the fungible token straight to the collection because the mechanism allowed for a certain percentage of the secondary transaction fee to get pooled and go and buy NFTs from the market.
23:37Bijan:And then those NFTs will get listed. And then when those sold, then that will burn tokens. So it's a really neat flywheel. So I think looking back, we're what, like seven months removed from that. There's a couple of things that I wish were different. One, the contract is not upgradable. So, you know, it's, and I know why, you know, TokenWorks did that. But also, I think you need to have a little flexibility to integrate feedback and modifications and mechanics as you go through time. We're talking about the industry itself maturing. So as the idea matures, like we, for example, at MiBits, we wanted to use MiBits strategy for other things.
24:17Bijan:The thing is, it's not a transferable token. And so the only way you can get it is by buying or selling it. And then there's that transaction fee. And so I can't take MiBits strategy for payment for mints, for example, MiBits football, because the token doesn't allow for it. So new iterations of strategy did change that where the teams can now designate certain wallets that can transact the token and transfer it. And so, yeah, I think that rigidity, is that even a word? I don't know. I just came back from Mexico, so my English is just like... Sounds like one. My English is just coming back to me, but I wish we had more flexibility on what to do with it and to be able to really develop it better.
25:03Bijan:But I like that idea of, you know, taking if you're going to have a fungible token, taking it and then tying it all back together as an ecosystem so it doesn't pull your attention in different directions like we've seen with some other projects. And we've seen the NFT suffer from that. Right. We've seen it was what, three or four large airdrops starting with the Pudgy Penguins in December of 24. And all those NFTs are in the gutter. And so, yeah, I think it's important for people that have a fungible token to find a way to tie it back to their ecosystem. And strategy was a good first chapter of that model.

25:44Bijan:I think the biggest lesson is, let's live ourselves some more flexibility to be able to integrate just experience and feedback and so on.
25:55Sergito:so a quick break in your regular programming if you're serious about your future grab my free report called prepare for 2030 i think you've got five years to make as much money as possible and this guide will help you navigate what's coming the link is in the description download it now so i want to uh i want to zoom out a little bit because uh i think our audience would uh definitely appreciate if we talked a little bit more like macro and crypto stuff so we we talked about Kevin Warsh, right? And you gave your opinion on kind of what's going on there. But I want to just ask you more directly, Kevin Warsh, he gets confirmed.
26:31Sergito:How bullish are you on him as the new Fed chair at a scale of one to 10?
26:39Bijan:I really hate to think, being Mexican, and I spent 12 years on the street covering Latin America. That was my bread and butter. I was down in Chile, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, multiple times per quarter. It is sad to see that a lot of the guardrails that the American founding fathers set for this government and this country have been eroded massively over the last 12, 15 years. And I think that having an independent central bank governor is something that is extremely valuable. it's quite clear that, you know, Warsh is not going to be as independent as, you know, Jerome Powell, for example.
27:22Bijan:And we just had a case in Peru where the central bank governor is retiring after 20 years. And, you know, Peru politically has been an absolute mess. I think they've had like nine presidents in the last like 12 years. They've had two presidents go to jail. I mean, it is like a true definition of an emerging market when it comes to politics. But the fact that I think his name is Julio Valverde, who was there for 20 years, at least gave that economy a fighting chance. And it didn't go the way of like Venezuela, Argentina, or so many other countries where that Fed independence or that central bank independence gets eroded.
28:01Bijan:And then, you know, the central bank starts getting used as like a PE bank or starts pushing a political agenda. And that is my worry. Like, will wars try to cut rates? Yes, of course. It's, you know, it's a board that makes a decision. And if inflation or whatever gets outrageous, then I think, you know, you'll see some pushback and the market will reflect that. But personally, just I think the risk here is that he's been angling to be Fed chair for a long time, not even just this current Trump presidency, and that he will try to do as much as he can to stay on Trump's good graces, which we know from just watching every other person that works for Mr.
28:44Bijan:Trump, you know, requires a lot of like ass kissing and just, you know, saying that, you know, going from$600 to$100 is a, decline of 600%. Being able to do basic math, I think, should be a requirement for people that are in positions of power in the government. And that is my worry. Now, as far as risk assets go, if they do, again, it's their scoreboard for them. Will they please fix risk assets and that lead to a perma bid underneath Bitcoin and Ether and all this other stuff? Yes. And we've seen that, right? Like you've seen inflation in all those other countries that I mentioned before. We had it in Mexico.
29:28Bijan:I grew up with it where like real estate just shoots up. Like everybody wants dollars. In this case, you know, dollar is going to be the victim. They're already seeing it. I haven't kept up with FX rates in a while. Like Mexico is not going through like a really good spot itself, but the peso was 12 % stronger last weekend that I was there or this week that I was than like the last time that I was there, which was in December. That was shocking to me because Mexico is not in a spot right now to be showing that kind of strength. And that was more in the back of dollar weakness. So risk assets, you know, quite bullish because at any sign of like a slowdown, which obviously we'll see from employment and we're already seeing like the headlines of layoffs and layoffs, left and right, left and right.
30:14Bijan:So that I think will give Warsh a lot of ammunition to cut rates to where Mr. Trump wants them. And then that will just make risk assets go one way and one way only.
30:27Sergito:hmm yeah oh my god Sergio that was a great I think that's very important um thing to think about there because you know us in crypto we we we think in terms of our bags and not like I guess what it means for the overall good of the economy and society which I think is is more important than our bags, right? We need that. So my question next to you is... Spring is here, New York City is bustling, and I just finished a clean of my apartment this past
31:03Bijan:weekend. And boy, did it feel great. You know what also feels great? One dashboard that gets your entire financial life organized. No more clutter, no more mess, no more scattered logins.
31:14Sergito:Just accounts, investments, property, and more, all in one place. Get your first year of Monarch for half off, just$50 with promo code REALVISION. Indeed, the Monarch app has helped me visualize my cash flow and helps me see where my money's moving. Not only that, I'm able to view my investments from various camps and how they're stacking up against the S &P 500. But my favorite feature is the AI Weekly Recap that sends me alerts on spending spikes, net worth shifts, and even upcoming expenses. Trust me, your finances will finally feel clean when you join Monarch. Use realvision at monarch.com to get your first half year off at just$50.
31:57Sergito:That's 50 % off your first year at monarch.com with code realvision. I actually want to transition a little bit. and talk about, well, you know what, actually, because you mentioned Meta, right? Meta recently just cut off 10 % of their staff. So we're literally seeing all of that happening, right? AI's taken over. We're just starting to see it. So I think it's very important that we keep that in mind. Now, I want to transition a little bit and talk about the rise of Hyperliquid. Do you use Hyperliquid? Are you playing around on that DEX? Are you trading oil perps?
32:38Bijan:As I said earlier, I'm not really a trader, especially not like a day trader to be in there, in and out. Don't have the bandwidth with what we're building with Meavitz. It's a startup. We have seven people working at Meavco. And then it's, yeah, 150 % of my focus goes to Meavitz. But obviously, I have my ear to the ground and people love Hyperliquid. All my friends that are traders or that are long-term investors, even like Liquid Fund managers, they love Hype Token. And I think Hyperliquid, in a way, it's kind of like Hyperliquid and Pump Fund, even though I don't really like the concept of meme coins.
33:22Bijan:But I think they both, as a kind of barbell, do a really good job at showing the potential of crypto rails and democratizing access to finance or to trading or speculation. And Hyperliquid has proven itself that it's done the best. And then you look at, there's a profile of Jeff, the founder of Hyperliquid, I think a week or two ago, and you read through it and you understand really why that company has done so well. So yeah, it's a great place to get levels when the market, traditional markets are closed. I think the token is really good. It's one of the best stories. And I like it. I think last time I was here with Mando mentioned Hyperliquid as something that I would buy.
34:10Bijan:I really have no liquidity to be honest. But if I did, I would definitely constantly be looking at it when it makes sense for the right valuation. But I think their token model is good. They're dominant. I think people are a little bit worried about every other service provider coming in to try to do perps. Perp dexes are a dime a dozen. I think instead of it being a risk to hyperliquid, it's probably just going to reinforce how good they are. And so just continue to cement their top spot in that regard. So, yeah, I think if I was actively accumulating this, I would be looking to really buy on days when you get those kinds of headlines and people freak out.
35:02Bijan:But I think the token trend is quite clear. I think you're looking at the chart right now. It's really, really nice. And then, yeah, it's a token that has the support from liquid funds. It has the support from its users. I think it's amazing when you see a product, you look at a token as a product, for example, as being an investment as well. You look at Apple, for example. People love using the iPod. In this case, if you're a high token holder and you love using the product, it's much different from folks that, and we see all of this in crypto, that hold certain assets, but they never use them.
35:46Bijan:So how do you even know that it's a good product? So in this case, I think that it's probably one of the best. No, no. It's definitely one of the best companies in crypto.
35:56Sergito:I couldn't agree more, honestly, because I just saw something last week, too, where Hyperliquid was the number two DEX over the last 24 hours. No, I'm sorry, not even DEX. It was the number two exchange in all of crypto over a 24-hour period just behind Binance. So they are moving. And the majority of that was not even crypto. though. So like, that is just so crazy to me. And I think it also kind of mirrors what's going, what we're seeing in our market in general of like it maturing people are, you know, yes, speculating is nice, but we want like real products that do real things, generate real fees.
36:27Sergito:And, you know, and I'm liking what we're seeing here. Now, another thing I want to talk about, because you mentioned, I think you mentioned there's like seven people working at MeBits, right? And I think there's like 11 people working at Hyperlakeway. We were just talking to uh oh geez my investors are going to be like man they're making billions of dollars no i'm not comparing you but you know and we were just talking to ov and there's like five or six people working at reg drinks like i'm seeing this as a trend right and i'm curious are you are you guys using are you using ai in your day-to-day work at me bits and like how are you implementing it how is that working and and how are you finding it yeah i mean i think when
37:07Bijan:what was it, December, November, when Claude really took off. So we've been keeping an eye on ViveCoding, call it, since March of last year. We actually hosted Aaron Wright from Tribute Labs. He gave a ViveCoding 101 class to me with holders because we saw it coming. It was like, hey, this is something that our community should get its hands on. And I remember even after that class, I had a hard time really using Cursor. and it wasn't really until December when it became much easier having a non-programming background. And we spoke to the team. I said, listen, guys, with this advances, we can cut the size of the team in half or we can start operating like a 50, 60 person company.
37:53Bijan:So you guys tell me, what do you guys want to do? If you don't want to use AI, if this is not something that really fits your skill set, let's find a way to kind of like move on um but if you're excited about this as i am then let's start 10xing our production individually and so we've had that um we brought in a new head of tech who is an ai native um and we have a very international team so we have uh have tech in kenya we have an artist in vietnam artist and manufacturing lead in china um and then we have a couple here in America. And then it's going to be seven. We're being joined next month.
38:36Bijan:Part of the Meavitz football project. We're going to be doing a daily live stream for football. And we hired an incredible collegiate soccer player from LSU who will be here for the summer. And yeah, so it was like, hey, let's 10X our individual production. So all the creative stuff for Meavitz football, like the actual asset generation. And so every meat that's football collectible is both kind of like an NFT that you see and it's beautiful, but it's also an other side avatar that works in that world and you can run around with it and so on. So all that stuff is still being done manually because it requires a degree of talent and care that AI still has not kind of like gotten there.
39:20Bijan:You know, we need things to be perfectly uniform across the board. And also we have a very talented guy in our creative director, Bailey, there. And so that stuff is still manual. Then everything around it, we're definitely using AI to enhance both, you know, every time that we ship something into the website, every time that we ship something for the community, all the stuff that's being created for me, it's football. And we're going to have, you know, prediction market integration. We're going to have fantasy games. We're going to have forecasting games. We're going to have all this other stuff.
39:50Bijan:All of that is being made with AI. And so, for example, our head of ops and community who's never coded a spreadsheet in his life, just build a whole bracket thing from scratch using AI, which is insane to think about, right? Like before that, you need to hire people to know all these things and how to code it. It's taking him a little bit over two weeks and kind of like getting there towards the end. But that's a resource that we already had that is now being super efficient. Our newsletter, for example, we have a bottom Discord, which is like drag things to it. and the AI just generates it, generates the visuals and queues it up on Substack, ready to go.
40:33Bijan:So yeah, definitely we're using it to act as a much bigger company and obviously learning a lot from it as we go. And it's just been really exciting to see our team come up with things. We're not like people are like, oh, we're not working. We're working on a Sunday on purpose. Like, ha ha, look at me. Like, you know, I'm hustling and grinding. No, it's just, it's a team they're just really happy to be doing what it's doing and so yeah like randomly on a sunday afternoon i'll get a text from somebody and be like hey like or the group text hey i just created this and it's really really awesome awesome to see it so yeah but now the flip side of that is you could definitely see how obviously ai is gonna cost a lot of jobs out in the market um and and yeah that's why i don't think wash is gonna have any problem justifying rate cuts um on any employment weakness, which obviously, right, like if you're a meta engineer, probably making good money.
41:32Bijan:So it's not just like, you know, people that usually, you know, we see a lot of turnover, kind of like the lower income jobs. Now you're seeing it at, you know, people making two, three,$400 ,000 a year, people with, you know, high net worths. Obviously you've worked at any of the big tech companies over the last 10 years, you've printed money just on your equity. And, And yeah, that's the other side of that coin. But I'm excited. I think every single time we've had technology like this come in, it's disrupted things. But for the best, right? It's just efficiency. And the internet was this kind of thing back 30 years ago.
42:09Bijan:And look at where we are now. So yeah, it's exciting. We're embracing it. We're using it. We're pushing our team. We're pushing our community. We've hosted a lot of AI content generation workshops. for example we did what with open c and their creative team we don't contest where we give people ape coin uh if they win to like five code a game integrate our assets we made a um skills file where we have a lot of you know there's 20 000 glbs of every single me bit out there and you can integrate them to your games into your apps whatever it is and so you could we want people to build with me bits but we we definitely want our community to like really see the potential here and so we're pushing people to do more just like we did with the team and then it's obviously up to them to see how they want to take advantage of it or not but we have you know we're you know very consciously pushing people to do because we obviously we all know that it's the future now
43:06Sergito:yes when i asked you this question i was just assuming like yeah we're working with claude and we're doing this and that but like you have like a whole like educational like ecosystem and incentivization to get people to adopt this and learn about this technology. That is so, that's so cool. Because I love that some NFT projects are actually, and some communities are actually doing this. So I, you know, you're talking about your graveyard in your wallet, right? I have an Oni, right? But one really cool thing that they did was they actually commissioned a PhD level study about AI prompt engineering.
43:40Sergito:And like, that's the cool stuff that I think is really going to make things valuable for people like not just for their wallet but like you're you're teaching them how to fish right and i think that's just so cool um so so world cups coming up right i think we we have to talk a little bit about that so you're doing you guys are doing me bits football right and you're you're doing a prediction market you're having like a fantasy league around it so first of all i definitely want the real vision community to get involved in this people have been asking me actually about that beginning dms about like are you going to set up a fantasy league or like a bracket a march madness style bracket for the world cup and i feel like this is this is our opportunity to do just that so one how can we how can people get involved in this and how can other communities get involved in something like this yeah so first
44:29Bijan:go follow me with football which is a different twitter account than our project account um there we have right now it's a twice weekly stream on tuesdays and thursdays called the 11 11 show where we're helping people kind of just starting to understand global soccer. What's happening right now, we have really exciting tournaments. For example, the Champions League out in Europe. It's not the semis. It's really, really cool. And we've been showing a lot of previews of what Bebit Start Football is going to look like. What we're trying to do is we understand that, obviously, sports betting and forecasting is huge.
45:09Bijan:It's changed a lot here in the States. even before polymarket, right? Like ESPN now shows the lines on broadcast. Every, like you can bet on your app and stuff. You can have your views on betting and the like, whether you like it or not. And that's personal. I'm not much of a gambler myself, but the reality is like, it's there, it's going to be in your face. It's in everybody's faces. So for those that do want to participate, we want to be that source of education to really understand, you know, not just the sport. Obviously, a lot of people, especially in America, have, you know, preconceptions about soccer.
45:47Bijan:It's, you know, at the collegiate level, it's more of a female sport than a male sport because of Title IX. So I think it's a really good opportunity for people to just really learn about soccer. So that's what we're doing, just kind of like getting people up to date on like storylines, players, teams. We've been tracking progress on like the odds to win the World Cup and Polymarket. kid we made some really good calls um honestly and and like hopefully people have started acting on those but what we want to do is just bridge that gap that exists because the last thing i want is for people to like come to the tournament you know two weeks in like oh my god this is so exciting and then just trying to catch up when like most of the stuff is already there so that's what we're trying to provide with maybe it's football besides you know the fun games and activities that we'll have with our mints um it's just education knowledge like i i have a much better time watching anything if somebody's explained or give me context before it than me just sitting there having no idea what i'm watching and i'm a soccer guy i'm a football guy that's what i played growing up and um that's what i just kind of like we want to use our platform to help because it is going to be crazy it's going to be fun um there's so many games and you already see it like you walk anywhere i was you know i flew out of houston to mexico city and Houston is a World Cup city, signs everywhere.
47:06Bijan:Obviously, Mexico, everybody's already wearing the Mexico jersey everywhere. I was shocked. I have not seen that in prior World Cups. We're 48 days out. People are already wearing the uniforms. Then you land in New York. It's everywhere. We have the final here. So every single, I think, person will come across it in one way or another. So we want to make it fun for them, for people to go to a watching party, a bar, to be able Mbappe were like, oh, can you believe Harry Kane? Like, I don't know where it got, you know, a 50, 50 goal season for the first time in his career. And it's like the lead contender for the Ballon d 'Or.
47:41Bijan:And then just like, it's just fun. Like, I don't know, like when I go to things and I can drop like backs like that, people are not expecting it's fun. So yeah, we're trying to model things after what we think will be fun for us and just hopefully finding a community that resonates with that.
47:55Sergito:Absolutely. Yeah. We're going to be, I'm going to be involved in this. So this is going to be fun. So prediction for you, El Tri, how far are they going in this tournament?
48:05Bijan:I mean, gosh, the World Cup is always a heartbreaker for Mexico. We were playing in Mexico, so obviously the first match of the tournament is Mexico-South Africa on June 11th in Mexico City. Obviously, we'll make it out of the group stage because this tournament has a lot more teams and it's easy to make it out of the group stage. we might face England in the knockout stage which would be very interesting I would hope we make it to the quarter finals and then from there it will get difficult we don't have the best team we've had our main goalie got injured a couple of weeks months ago now but you can never discount playing in your home country to a fan base of thousands of passionate 50 days out everybody's wearing the shirt already um it is going to be it's going to be wild i don't think if if people have never experienced a woke up um and and you really haven't right the last one was in qatar in an off cycle like during the winter uh kind of like tail end of covet it was bad it was just not good and the one prior was in russia um and and yeah again i think it was off so so really this is going to be a huge party and i'm excited to see how like the everyday american reacts to it and hopefully like everyday participants do use move it's football to get up to speed and learn a little bit more about the tournament the teams the players um and have fun
49:34Sergito:alongside of it absolutely um i for those of you that need to know about the home field advantage that Mexico has in general, whether they're in Mexico or in the U.S. I was at the Gold Cup final a few years ago in Chicago, USA versus Mexico. Sea of green, just a sea of green. So I don't doubt that that home field advantage will be pretty good. I don't think the U.S. is going to do great. I think if they get to the round of 16, I think that's good. But we'll just take it from there.
50:10Bijan:the u.s yeah i mean i wish you guys well uh that's all i say i uh you know i've mentioned this before i as a mexican like there's and obviously i'm an immigrant i love this country and i'm just very happy to be here in the states the country's given me so much and i can cheer for any american athlete any american team in an international competition um except for the u.s men's national soccer team because we have a rivalry that goes back you know and and and so yeah christian pulisic is not as good as lamin donovan but he thinks he's better and he's just not a good guy um so so yeah i'm not not cheering for the u.s but i will cheer for the u.s women's national team um it'd just be fun it'd be fun listen in a country where so many people are really about their heritage right like that's one of the things that shocked me when i came to the states we were like oh i'm like half german half irish half italian 30 is like 0.17 like stonian or whatever i think that it'll be really fun to see folks kind of like cheer on those teams as well um and and i might as well lock in because it's going to be everybody's faces that's like the only thing anybody's going to talk about so yeah yeah it's
51:27Sergito:going to be a blast. So Sergio, I want to end on one final thing that's near and dear to me, which is food, because I see you trolling Raoul on Twitter a lot, talking about food and everything like that. Obviously, you just came back from Mexico. Mexican cuisine is absolutely world-class for people that, I mean, if you're not familiar with Mexican cuisine, I don't know where you've been, right? But for people that are like, well, you know, they just think, you know, tacos and all of that stuff like what is one dish that if you're like all right this is what i will give you to try that is the essence of what i love about my country's cuisine what would that be oh gosh
52:08Bijan:that's hard by the way just route like okay he went to spain he had a house there and he has like tomato and like you know bread with butter and things the greatest thing ever sure buddy um our our food issue goes back to me saying that i i don't really like indian cuisine i think it's the wrong kind of spice if you want real spice you should get mexican um and so he took offense to that so i was like well you know i've never had good curry and and he's never had good mexican because he's only visited mexico was like tulum like clubbing uh so of course like no that's not mexican um the one dish it's mole which is a sauce that is made of chocolate and spices and chilies and you can make it a many many different ways but i think it does a really good job at just showcasing you know mexico as a melting pot not a melting pot like uh america is of 100 cultures mexico is a melting pot of two you know the european hispanic culture and the native culture right and so chiles chocolate that's um you know the native mexican and then obviously you put that on on chicken and rice and stuff um and that i think brings that together the tortillas you have like handmade tortillas, like maize tortillas with it.
53:23Bijan:It's incredible. So a good mole con pollo, some rice, then you get leftovers the next day. You make, you know, sunny side eggs and then you put the mole on top. Absolute perfection. I think that is one of 15 dishes that would crush any other cuisine around the world. I think Maxine cuisine is the best, followed by Peruvian. And then we can like, you know, talk Italian, French, whatever.
53:45Sergito:Yeah, well, yeah, I'm glad you said Peru. My fiance is Peruvian. reminds me every day that is the most underrated cuisine in the world the most it is it's it's the
53:54Bijan:most underrated cuisine in the world by far like by far if anybody ever has a chance to go to lima book central uh it's like a nine month wait and just have the best meal of your life there with berjilio chef berjilio is amazing um but but outside of that it's also another place where you have a melting pot of asian because they had a lot of japanese and korean immigration and then local and so some of the sushi um saying here from the production team peruvian chicken is best so yeah some of the best sushi and seafood like ceviche peruvian ceviche out of this world now we're talking now i'm getting hungry so i know i have to go to a meeting after this i'm like what am i gonna get on the way out um it's a beautiful day in new york but um just open in but not opening by but like if you are um interested in learning more about me bits and Larble Labs.
54:47Bijan:We're having our anniversary May 2nd in Soho at Saturdays football. If anybody from the Real Vision family would like to attend, it is going to be an RSVP necessary.
