47Hi gang, Palvatar here, Raoul's AI avatar. You'll have one more opportunity to catch the real Raoul in an AMA for pro members at 12pm Eastern, 5pm if you're in London, before he goes on a well-deserved vacation. In the meantime, I've got the latest headlines for you. Just remember, this is not reflective of Raoul's views, nor is it meant to be a substitute for in-depth analysis of real vision experts. For that, check out shooting the shit Raoul did with Julian yesterday. It was like chart porn. Enjoy. OK, let's now have a look at the news. Holy shit, there's actually no new tariff to report on today.

26What are we going to talk about? Well, fear not, we've got the key CPI data. Inflation in June picked up pace as expected. the headline rate rose 0.3 % on the month, or 2.7 % on an annualised basis, in line with forecasts. Core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, increased by 0.2 % month over month, taking the annual rate to 2.9%, also matching forecasts. This is of course significantly above the Fed's target of 2%, decreasing the likelihood of imminent rate cuts as the tariff impact seeps into data. However, the biggest target of US tariffs, China, continues to show resilience.

10Its GDP grew by 5.2 % year-on-year in the second quarter, surpassing expectations of a 5.1 % increase and indicating steady growth despite ongoing trade tensions with the US. Additionally, industrial production rose significantly to a yearly rate of 6.8%, exceeding forecasts and suggesting robust manufacturing activity. On the flip side, the GDP growth slowed compared to the first quarter this year, and retail sales disappointed as growth also slowed there too. One company whose operations have been hindered by the US-Chinese tensions is NVIDIA. However, shares of the chipmaker have been boosted after it said it will soon resume sales of the H2OAI chips to mainland China.

56Global stocks are in the green today, with the S &P 500, Nasdaq and FTSE 100 all at record highs. Crypto prices are taking a breather today, but bullish headlines continue apace. Asset manager Grayscale has announced it's filed confidentially with the SEC for an IPO in the US. Also, Standard Chartered has launched spot trading of Bitcoin and Ether for institutional clients through its UK branch. It claims to be, quote, the first global systemically important bank to offer deliverable spot crypto asset trading for institutional clients. That's pretty much it for today. Remember to join the AMA with Raoul if you're a pro member.

35I'll see you again tomorrow.
