0:01Kris Bullock:As you know, on this podcast, I bring the best guests in the world at that nexus of understanding of macro crypto in the exponential age of technology. If you're enjoying the show, a quick five star rating goes a long way. It helps us grow and keep these conversations coming with the best guests in the world. Thanks a lot.
0:26Kris Bullock:is this ai boom a bubble or is it just the beginning happy wednesday everyone welcome back to another edition of trading the markets but it is a little bit of a new edition of our show because we are focusing on ai not just this week but going forward on our show on wednesday We will be focusing it on AI, the new tech taking over our industry and our future and everything in between. So come ready with that in mind. And of course, it is also AI Tech Week, trading the future here at Real Vision. And the content already has been absolute fire. We've been digging in to how to trade the future, where the real infrastructure money is hiding, who's paying for it, who wins second order, and what people are still missing.
1:19Kris Bullock:So definitely make sure you check that out. You can sign up now on Real Vision by joining using the link below and get started. I think starting with Andreas and David Matten's conversation today, the 2026 outlook for AI is probably a good idea of where to start. But again, like I teased at the top of the show, AI is not just a bubble, right? It is the beginning. And on the most recent Rau Pal juryman, Andreas Steno joined Rau, and they talked about this new technology. And one of the key points of their discussion was that this isn't the 1999 dot-com bubble. Companies are funding AI with real cash and not debt.
2:03Kris Bullock:So if we're in that sweet spot right now of solid growth and that cooling inflation, this AI boom could really be the start of something big and a long productivity wave. And that's exactly what we're aiming here to do on the show. So with that said, Chris, welcome to the new show. How are you doing? I'm really excited for what we got.
2:25Nico Brugge:Yeah, me too. I'm so excited. I've been waiting for this for a long time now. I feel like over the last two or three months in particular, my usage of AI has just ramped up just exponentially. I mean, to the point where I'm using it all day, every day. And I just kept thinking, we need to be talking about this. This is important. This is how people are working now. this is what people are doing. And it's improved my ability to research things and analyze things and just become such a much better investor. And I just, I want to talk about it, you know? And so when we were thinking about this first show and where to begin and how to break it all down, I kept wanting to just cram everything into one show.
3:03Nico Brugge:And I had to stop and remind myself, okay, look, this is going to be going for a while. There's a million things we can be talking about. So we're going to start a little bit slow today. We're going to start off with some simple stuff. And we'll just, you know, over the coming weeks and months, we'll really start to get into a lot of what's going on. And I'm really excited by the fact that we're bringing in the community, that we're involving the Real Vision community on the show. And we're going to be bringing them on stage and talking to fellow community members and learning what they're doing and how they're using it.
3:32Nico Brugge:And I think through that, we can all just become better users of AI and better investors at the same time. And yeah, I just I can't be more excited, like you said.
3:43Kris Bullock:Yeah, absolutely. And what a great way to start this show on Real Vision's Trading the Future Week. And I also want to remind everyone as well, in addition to Trading the Future, next week we are starting a trade idea competition. And it'll be running from March 3rd to March 17th. You'll need to be a Real Vision member to enter the competition. So again, sign up. Now's a great time to do it as well. And prizes range from winner is getting a one-on-one portfolio review with Andreas. You'll get a tier upgrade and some free merch. And it doesn't have to just be an AI trade. It could be any type of trade.
4:16Kris Bullock:So just March 3rd through the 17th, we have our Trade Ideas competition. So get ready for that. And maybe, you know, watch some of these shows to get some ideas of some AI trades that you could be making, perhaps. So with that, so we have a few things on the agenda for today's show. We're going to obviously go over some news in the AI space. Chris is going to talk to us about how he's using AI. And of course, one of our community members, Durden BTC, is going to come on and explain to us how he is using AI in his personal life and for his financial journey as well. That portion will be on the website.
4:53Kris Bullock:So come and join us on the website for that as well. But Chris, let's dive into it. What's the market looking like today? What are we seeing?
5:04Nico Brugge:Well, the market looks pretty good today. We've had a nice bounce across the board. But really, the thing that's going on, the thing that everybody is talking about is the NVIDIA earnings call coming at the end of the day today. And, you know, is it going to be positive? Is it going to be negative? I think, and really it needs to be not just positive, but kind of more than positive, you know, because that's going to really dictate if this train is going to keep running or if it's going to slow down and what impact it's going to have in terms of like a trickle down effect in all of the relative sectors that are part of this AI, you know, build out.
5:37Nico Brugge:And so that's going to be what we're looking at. And looking, I just wanted to pull a polymarket here. Right now, it's projecting a 93 % chance of a beat quarterly earnings. That number has been fluctuating anywhere from 93 to 97 or 98 throughout the morning. And it's ticked down a little bit right now. But really, again, that's the thing. And I think what we're looking for, we want to see them not just beat earnings calls, but really beat it. And I think the forward guidance is going to be very important too. I really want to see them come out and say, you know, forward guidance, they're looking at like 75 billion or more for next quarter.
6:15Nico Brugge:And then I want to I'm going to be looking for sort of key comments. I don't want to hear them say things like, you know, AI demand normalization or hyperscaler spending discipline, you know, or China export constraints, you know, things like that. I want to see I want to hear them say everything looks great. We're going full on. You know, nothing is slowing down, anything like that. And that's really what's going to be key. If there's any kind of hesitation, if there's any kind of slowdown, I think that will have a outsized impact on the markets. And it's going to impact particularly the hardware sector, the semiconductor sector that is part of the data center build out.
6:54Nico Brugge:If they're slowed out in CapEx spending, obviously those assets are going to be impacted. I still think energy is going to do okay generally, but semiconductors and some IT infrastructure in particular will be vulnerable based on the outcome of this call. So it's really, really an important thing. And it's what everybody's going to be glued to today at the end of the day.
7:17Kris Bullock:Yeah. So we don't want to just hear any corporate talk here, any corporate lingo, speak and buzzwords. We want the straight info and something to be positive, no beating around the bush. Well said, Chris. So obviously, NVIDIA is super important for the market direction, and we'll be looking for that earnings announcement later today. But how's the rest of the market looking? Is there anything that is maybe doing exceptionally well or exceptionally bad? What are you seeing in terms of the rest of the market right now?
7:49Nico Brugge:So I have this watch list here. I wish I could share it in a clearer, cleaner way, but it's broken down the AI sector into multiple different individual sectors. And right now we can see there's a fair bit of red in terms of like cooling and mechanical. But when we get down into like the IT infrastructure sector, very green across the board, multiple assets up, you know, five, six, 8 % or more in some cases. semiconductors also doing very well across the board lots of green there that we're seeing so again semis and it infrastructure doing well um surprisingly the mag 7 itself is actually doing pretty well today too uh but we're seeing a bit of just i guess whatever even even in terms of like all power like solar is doing well lithium is doing well um but some of these other ones are are iffy right now.
8:38Nico Brugge:So yeah, generally, again, I'm looking at IT infrastructure and semiconductors. Those are going to be the big sectors that really are going to be impacted by this positively or negatively one way or the other. Right now, they're up today. I think we're seeing generally just a bit of a technical bounce across the board, really across all markets, across all risk assets right now. Kind of everything is up today, even including crypto. It's a very green day across the board, even just the major indices. So I can't help but think that's somewhat of a technical bounce, maybe, you know, because there's been a lot of news with tariffs lately with a lot of stuff that just caused the markets to really be wobbly.
9:15Nico Brugge:And I think we're seeing a bit of a technical bounce after a bit of a flush out, you know, over the previous days. And so, again, really, it's going to come down to that NVIDIA earnings call in the end. So that's what I'm looking for.
9:28Kris Bullock:All right. That's a big watch for us today. So, Chris, you know, this is, of course, this is our new AI show. And, you know, we talked about how we're using AI to enhance, improve our daily lives, our daily workflow, all that good stuff. And you have been working with AI for quite a bit now. You've been sharing your findings and kind of, you know, your research and what you've been doing in the Discord. And you have something for us today. You know, you have a little something to show us on what you've been doing with AI and how it can, you know, help others out there. So why don't we, you know, without further ado, why don't we dive right into it?
10:07Nico Brugge:So some of the general things that I use AI for when it comes to improving my investment outcomes are sort of as follows. I like to use it to conduct deep research. Like I watch a ton of YouTube videos. I'll generally use it to, you know, I'll load videos into AI and I'll have it help me break down all of the concepts in the videos, sort of extract important themes, important thesis, and then, you know, whittle it all the way down to what sort of stocks or which assets can I use to express these investments with, you know, based on the ideas that are expressed in these shows. So I do a ton of research with that, which I'll show later.
10:46Nico Brugge:I also like to have a lot of information at my disposal. I use TradingView a ton, and sometimes TradingView has limitations in terms of the data that it can display or go out and find. So sometimes I need to make dashboards to actually get me information that I couldn't get from TradingView.
11:03Kris Bullock:So a quick break in your regular programming. If you're serious about your future, grab my free report called Prepare for 2030. I think you've got five years to make as much money as possible, and this guide will help you navigate what's coming. The link is in the description.
11:19Nico Brugge:Download it now. And so one instance in particular that I'm going to start with is I wanted to be able to see like a crypto breadth indicator. I wanted to see sort of out of the top 200 crypto assets, how many are advancing versus declining? You know, on a rolling sort of seven day basis, on a 30 day basis, on a 24 hour basis, I want to see how much of the crypto market is moving together, how much of it is moving up versus moving down. And you can't really get that with TradingView. The problem with TradingView is it has a limitation of you can only sort of have it pull data for about 40 assets at a time, 40 tickers at a time.
11:58Nico Brugge:And I wanted the full top 200. And so I went into Claude in this case. Let me, I have it pulled up here. And I didn't know this at first. And with stuff like this, it can be pretty simple. You don't have to know deep prompting exercises, which is a topic for another day. You can just start talking to it. And so I just started with Claude and I said, I want to make a crypto breadth indicator that, you know, tracks assets in the top 200, you know, by market cap. And so it started telling me what it can do, what the limitations of trading view are, what I could do to maybe work around that. And then I'm like, no, that's not going to work.
12:35Nico Brugge:And then so it actually was like, how about instead of doing this in TradingView, I'll just make you a dashboard. Like Claude actually recommended this to me. And I was like, great, make me a dashboard. So I told it to make me a dashboard. It was amazing. This is when Opus 4.5 first came out. And not only did it make me a dashboard, but it actually made me a full HTML web interface. and it made me like a readme instruction tutorial document. So it taught me how to use this interface. Basically, all I needed to do was go and get an API key from CoinMarketCap, which is easy to do. It's free. You sign up on CoinMarketCap, you get your API key, you paste it in here.
13:16Nico Brugge:And it's like, great. And within a minute, it spit me out a fully functional, working HTML interface with everything I needed, really, and a full readme instruction set, none of which I even asked for, which was amazing. And, and it, you know, it kicked me out this dashboard. And I was like, this is I mean, this is this is perfect, you know, so it, you know, and if you if you run into trouble, if you're like, well, how do you do this? Or how do you start it? Or how do you make it work? Just just ask, like, that's the thing I want to really emphasize a lot with new people who are new to using AI.
13:47Nico Brugge:Just ask AI, don't go digging in Google or go on the discord and say, What do I do? Just ask Claude, just ask Gemini, whatever you're doing, just say, hey, this doesn't work. Just copy and paste the screen and paste it in. Say, hey, I ran into an error. What do I do? And it'll just, oh, here, do this. And it'll tell you. It's amazing. This is sort of how you learn how to use AI and how to become more technically adept at sort of setting this stuff up on your own computer. It'll tell you how to do everything. It's like a built-in instruction manual on the fly, which is great. So kind of looking at this dashboard, basically, it tells me right now, you know, it gives me a one hour, a 24 hour and a seven day and a 30 day advancers versus decliners.
14:31Nico Brugge:And we can see right now that on a 30 day basis, things are pretty ugly, as we well know. I mean, we've been talking about the charts for a while now. And yeah, so not surprised. But we can start to see on a seven day basis, things are starting to rebound a little bit. We're at about 47 % advancers versus decliners, still not, you know, above 50, but it's moving in the right direction. And then this is interesting too, because it tells you sort of in the last day, we're very much on an uptrend. And you can toggle this chart here by 24 hours, by seven days, and by 30 days. And so obviously, the 30 day is really the one that matters.
15:07Nico Brugge:That's the one that I'm going to be looking for, because that's going to tell me that we're starting to develop a stronger weekly trend to the upside. And then too, it kind of gives you just a little box that shows you what are the top 10 out of the 200 that have gained the most in the last 24 hours. And then the same thing with the ones that have declined the most, and you can toggle that. And so this was perfect for me. This is exactly what I needed. It took literally five, 10 minutes to create this, another 10 minutes or so to kind of get it up and running on my computer. But easy, easy, just no brainer, you know, and now I have this insight at my disposal and it just runs all the time and it's great.
15:44Nico Brugge:So that's one way, that's just one of, you know, dozens of things that I've used, but I wanted to start somewhere with this. Another one was, I want to talk about TradingView because again, I do use TradingView a lot and there's a lot of indicators that don't exist for TradingView that sometimes I, you know, need insight on. So I'll go and I'll look in the indicators list and I'll see if what I need exists first, you know, and if a community member hasn't created it, then you can just go on Claude and say like, hey, I need an indicator that in this case, I wanted an indicator that compares the correlation between Bitcoin and another asset or another market, you know, like that.
16:25Nico Brugge:And so I just went on to Claude and I said, make me an indicator that shows me the correlation between, say, Bitcoin and the S &P 500 and have it just be a little line chart down at the bottom that shows this. And I didn't really give it too much instruction. That's really all I said. And so what it does is it says, okay, here you go. And it spits out a chunk of code. And so I'm just going to quickly demonstrate what you sort of do from there. So it spit out a chunk of code. I went into trading view. Let me get rid of this. You go into the pine editor here over in the lower right. And you just delete this, basically copy and paste the code just like this.
17:03Nico Brugge:You don't have to do anything. Now, TradingView is good at if some reason there's a little syntax error or something isn't right, it'll pop up and say, oh, there's an error here. This didn't compile right. If you ever get that, which is fairly common, you can just screenshot that, copy and paste that back into Claude and say, hey, I got an error. And it'll usually fix it in one or two tries. And then it'll just give you a new batch of code. But once you get the code correct and you can scroll through it and see that there's no big red errors anywhere. You simply just say add to chart like that.
17:34Nico Brugge:And just like that, here we go. It adds a chart. Now you can name it if you want. You can actually publish it if you want under your own account, under trading view. You don't have to, but you can save it and just keep it in your own library if you want. And then just close this. So now I've got this correlation indicator and this is exactly what I needed it to do. But also, so right now this is, you know, Bitcoin and the S &P, how correlated they are. And so it shows me, it gives me a number of correlation. It says status week positive. You can change the time period if you want. So just go into the settings.
18:10Nico Brugge:You know, you can change the symbol if you want to actually change it from the, like the all time index of Bitcoin, or if you want to change it to something else altogether, you can change it to a different asset. You can change it to Ethereum or whatever you want. Then you can change the, you know, the time period that it looks back on sort of like the moving average. Like if I change this to 30, for example, it's going to change the line a little bit like you just saw. So again, this literally took me not even five minutes. Like I was going along doing some research and I thought to myself, I need a correlation indicator.
18:41Nico Brugge:Went on to Claude. Hey, I need a correlation indicator. Boom, pace, done. And I was just running just like that. So like that's literally how easy it can be. And you're just going. And And next thing you know, now I've got 5, 10, 15 random just little bits and bobs of indicators and stuff that I've built along the way just for general analysis that I need from time to time. And, yeah, so just to kind of, again, display, demonstrate how easy it is to enhance your ability to analyze things, to call data, to pull data from anywhere and visualize it. I mean, yeah, it's amazing, honestly. And I think everybody just needs to start doing it.
19:24Nico Brugge:Like, I didn't know how to do this. I literally just, you just go on every day, go on to Cloud, use Cloud, use Gemini, use ChatGPT, whatever your go-to LLM is, and just start using it. Just start asking it questions. Just start telling it what you want. And the more you do that, the better you'll get at sort of asking it, you know, and refining what it is that you're looking for. And you'll find that the more you can refine the initial request, the quicker you'll get the results you're looking for. Like sometimes you'll end up needing to have a conversation with it for 15 or 20 minutes and kind of do a lot of back and forth.
20:02Nico Brugge:And eventually you'll get the output you're looking for. But over time, you'll go, well, I didn't need to do all that. Now I know how to just I know to ask it just this, you know, instead. And that just comes with practice. So really the whole focus of the show is just to encourage people to be using these tools every day. And you'll find that it can enhance your ability to invest and research by just tenfold. You know, so, yeah, let's start with that.
20:30Kris Bullock:Yeah, well said, Chris. And I noticed that you were talking about Claude a lot, right? And obviously everyone knows about Claude or maybe not everyone, but Claude and ChatGPT. And I do want to emphasize that it doesn't necessarily matter which one you use. Just start using them. And through your practice, you'll find maybe Claude works better for you or maybe ChatGPT works better for you. Because like a lot of things in life, there are things that are specialized, right? Like what I've found and what I've heard others mention is that Claude is very good for like coding and gathering data and making dashboards and spinning up apps and things like that.
21:12Kris Bullock:Whereas ChatGPT flourishes in creative content, analyzing trends and making draft suggestions and things like that. So you'll find which works best for your workflow and what type of worker you are. And I think that'll help you decide what your LLM or which model you should use. So I wanted to make that point of emphasis there. And use the premium version, guys, if you can. It's 20 bucks a month, right? That's the, I think they generally go from zero, 20 to like$100 a month. I don't think you need the$100 a month one, but the$20 a month one will give you the latest version of whichever LLM you're using.
Read the full transcript
21:51Kris Bullock:It'll be faster. You'll get priority access and you can really get a feel for how it is. So sign up for 20 bucks for one month, see how you like it. and then you can just kind of figure it out from there. Yeah.
22:05Nico Brugge:Go ahead. A number of them give free trials and things like that too randomly. Like for example, Perplexity gave me a free year of Pro just for connecting my Venmo account to it to pay for it when the year is up, which was easy, no brainer. I got a new Pixel Google phone and Google gave me a free year of Gemini Pro for getting a new phone. which was amazing. So there's, there's random ways out there, just kind of maybe do some searches, look for things. There's, there's, you know, there, a lot of them give promotion because like, keep in mind, like Chachi PT came out storming right out of the gate and, and got sort of that first mover advantage.
22:44Nico Brugge:And so they have tons and tons of subscribers. And so a lot of the other competing LLMs are having to kind of give a little bit away for a long period of time, just to, just to get people over there to try them out, you know, because a lot of people like, oh well i got chat gpt it's fine it works it does everything i need to do why do i need to switch over to gemini or perplexity or whatever you know and so you i recommend trying all of them because they are all different and then on top of that they're all it's a constant cat and mouse game they're all trying to one up the other every day all day every day they're all building non-stop to try and come out with better models all the time and so one week claude might release a new update.
23:24Nico Brugge:The next week, Gemini will release a new update. The next week, you know, ChatGPT will release a new update to try and best the others. And we're the beneficiaries of that. You know, we're benefiting from that constant game of just one-upsmanship with all of them, which is great as the consumer. But yeah, I recommend just trying them all out. They're all a little bit different. They all are better at certain things than others, like you said, Bijan. But they're all unique and they're all really cool.
23:52Kris Bullock:Yeah, absolutely. So speaking of trying things out, we are going to bring on a community member who's been trying some things out himself, and he's going to share with us what he's been doing. So I'd like to welcome Real Vision member Durden BTC to the show. Durden, how you doing? Thanks for joining us. Yeah, and thanks for having me on. I'm super excited for this talk. So I'm ready to get into it. I'm going to just basically lay out how I turn this little Mac mini over here on the side of my desk into an AI investing research assistant and automated a bunch of stuff that I spent 20, 30 hours a week doing.
24:34Kris Bullock:So. Well, guys, if you want to hear how Dern and BTC is automating his life and simplifying his task, Head on over to the Real Vision website and join us. And we're going to dive in to what Dirt in BTC is doing. I have a feeling it's using Open Claw. We're going to talk about it all and we'll go from there. So see you guys over on the website. Come on and join us, realvision.com. See you guys there in a bit. You obviously enjoyed the episode because you're here with me at the end.
