Remember how I said yesterday, right after the US inflation release, that we'll have to see what the markets focus on, as it was a bit of a mixed bag? Well, they've unequivocally focused on the good news. While the headline consumer price index remained steady at 2.7 % year-over-year for July, which was below expectations, core CPI rose to 3.1%, coming in slightly hotter than expected.

2:04That's complicating the Federal Reserve's monetary policy outlook ahead of its September meeting, but a rate cut is still highly anticipated. Meanwhile, Germany's consumer price inflation remained stable at an annual increase of 2 % in July, confirming preliminary estimates. The risk appetite has also been bolstered by President Trump's decision to extend a tariff truce with China for another three months. That's being reflected in global stock markets today, which have rallied pretty much across the board. Japan's Nikkei and Topix indices closed at a new high following the S &P 500 and the Nasdaq records on Tuesday.

2:42Altcoin prices have surged, taking Ether to just a few percentage points away from its 2021 record of$4 ,900. Several other major cryptocurrencies have enjoyed double-digit gains. The Bitcoin dominance has fallen to below 60 % for the first time since the beginning of February. Short and sweet today, and pretty bullish all around.
