18Broadcasting from Phoenix, Arizona. And it's either heaven or hell. And right now, it's heaven. It's the most beautiful time of the year. So we have a very important show today, and it's a guest I've had on before. And I read this book years ago. It's called Miracle Morning. His name is Hal Elrod, and he's come out with a new book called Miracle Morning for those over 50, for old guys like me. I think that's highly appropriate because I was just thinking about this, Hal. You know, when Social Security came out, I think it was 1936 or something like that. FDR brought it in they said retirement age was 60 or 65 oh wow never expected anybody to live that long huh so back in the 30s our life expectancy was like 50 yeah and so what's happening today is that guys like my generation of boomers were living longer and longer and longer which is the good thing due to medical medical you know medical is keeping us alive longer.

26Yeah. And for me, from the money side, there's a lot of boomers who are going to run out of money. I hope I'm wrong. But we're due for a huge market correction, and everybody looks at the S &P 500. And for most boomers, we're the first generation that didn't have what's called the defined benefit pension plan. defined benefit pension plans like Ford Motor gave it to you or General Motors where you got a guaranteed payment for the rest of your life the boomers are the first generation with a defined contribution it's called a 401k or an IRA so your book Miracle Morning for those over 50 very appropriate because the good news is we're going to live longer that bad news you might be broke, you might be a homeless.

23So anyway, help. Well, I know my dad is 67, I believe. And he, you know, he's dealing with that concern of he's healthy as a horse, going to live a long time. And, you know, and so he's kind of hanging on and not, you know, and not ready to retire because he just wants to make sure that he's set up financially, you know. Like I said, it's one of the biggest changes around was that, to a shift from defined benefit to defined contribution, i.e. the 401k. And the 401k basically means if you don't donate to it, you don't get anything. Because before, you didn't have to do anything. You got something.

03So that's why your book, Miracle Morning for Those Over 50, crucial. Because the good news, you'll live longer. Bad news, you might be sleeping in a trailer someplace. Well, hopefully it's a nice trailer that keeps you safe. But yeah, The Miracle Morning After 50, I mean, that was the inspiration is my co-author for that book. I don't believe you've met him yet, but his name is Dwayne J. Clark, and he is the founder of Aegis Living. So it's a senior living center. They're all over America. And he actually came to me and he read Miracle Morning, similar to you in his 60s. And he said, Hal, this book changed my life and I'm in my 60s and he cares for people over 80 ,000 people that he's cared for in their 50s 60s 70s 80s 90s and beyond and he said they really need uh you know they need the miracle morning in the same way that you've talked about it Robert that it helps you start your day in an optimal state and then you show up at your best uh whether it's to your health or your finances or whatever you apply you know your miracle morning to so let me ask this question miracle morning was a great book because it's how you start your day frames that you know use it today but i'm being honest i haven't read over 50 yet yeah but what's the difference between your first book miracle morning and then for those over old guys like me yeah well you know the the miracle morning book series and if anybody's watching you can see behind me there's about a you know a dozen or so titles the Miracle Morning for college students, for real estate agents, for salespeople, for writers, you name it.

45And I wasn't planning on doing another Miracle Morning book, but the series, all of the books in the series, only the first three chapters support the entire original Miracle Morning book. And the next seven or so chapters is completely original content based on the expertise of whichever co-author, because I wrote all of the books with a co-author. So Dwayne is an expert in longevity. I have no expertise in longevity, except that I'm a healthy person. I study health and that kind of thing. But Dwayne, having cared for over 80 ,000 people in the second half of their life, that's what the majority of the book is.

23And even the Miracle Morning aspects, Dwayne completely customized them to be for folks in an older age. And Robert, this is kind of funny, but the original book, I talk about move your alarm clock across the room. It's one of the keystone tips I give in that book, and that helps you get out of bed, and now you're awake, and that's how you beat the snooze button. Well, Dwayne said, Hal, I haven't used an alarm clock in years, and I don't believe in alarm clocks. I think we should wake up naturally with our body. And I was so convinced that, no, no, this is such a great strategy, and he swung me to his way of thinking.

02and I haven't used an alarm clock in the last year. But the book really focuses on purpose after 50, on finances after 50, on health and longevity after 50, and how the Miracle Morning supports you in all of those aspects of your life. So what does a person have to do? Let's say, what about longevity? How do you add life to your life? So, I mean, there's, you know, we, one of the things that we talk about in the book is we separate kind of two categories and there are all of these, uh, you're familiar with biohacking, Robert, that term biohacking, have you heard of that? No. So biohacking is very popular today.

46And it's, it's basically using all these technologies to optimize your health. So red light therapy is an example. Um, ozone sauna is an example. Um, PEMF post electromagnetic frequency machines that give you a subtle electrical charge. All of these things are being studied and used to improve your health and longevity, but they're all pretty relatively expensive. You know, a good red light therapy machine might cost you a thousand dollars. So would a sauna. So would all these things. And so for the average person, um, that might not be feasible. So in the book, we talked about the science behind things like earthing, literally putting your feet on the ground, ideally in the morning when the weather permits and connecting your body, which is literally, it's a battery, right?

38It conducts electricity and standing on the bare earth and that connection that we are designed to be connected to earth. And yet most of us are spending most of the day indoors. And when we go outdoors, we've got tennis shoes on and we're not connecting. We're not grounding. We talked about first light, the benefits of seeing sunlight first thing in the morning and how that not only feeds you with vitamin D, but it sets your circadian rhythms so that you have more energy throughout the day and you sleep better at night. So my point is we really focused in the book that we talked about red light therapy and all of these biohacking technologies.

18But we really said, look, these are great, but don't invest a dollar in those until you're using nature's biohacks that have been around for millions of years. That's good advice, Aime. Okay, who was that? Some doctor talked about from Stanford, you get 10 minutes of sunlight every day because we don't get enough sunlight. Yeah, that's it. And it costs you nothing, right? It doesn't cost you a dollar. Yeah. Yeah. That's important. So anything else you want to say about that? Yeah. You know, one of the example, one of the things that we talk a lot in the book about, and again, Duane, my co-author, really led this, is ways to move your body.

04So one of, you know, the E in Savers is exercise. Well, if you're in your 50s or 60s or 70s or 80s or 90s, depending on your physical abilities, exercise might look very different. And so Dwayne does some really simple things as part of his miracle morning. One of them is every morning he stretches in bed. As soon as he wakes up, he does about a five-minute routine under the covers where he rolls his ankles and his wrists and he has this whole routine that he does. it takes a few minutes, but it wakes up his body. And then he stands on one foot while he brushes his teeth. And that might sound crazy, but he quotes this study where they, they, it improves your balance and he's done it every day for years, you know, maybe decades.

51And so he's got great balance and he is now 67 years old. Um, how old are you, Robert? If you don't mind me asking 80 you're 80 already i i thought you were 72 you're uh you you look great for 80 and i'm not just saying that um but at 67 years old he's still doing you know push-ups and sit-ups and but he does them modified he can't do them like when he was younger so so really the whole miracle morning the practices the savers silence affirmations visualization exercise reading and describing for the, someone that doesn't know those are the six practices of the miracle morning in this book, they're all customized for folks over 50.

38And then there's a lot in the book, which we can talk about if you want at some point about finding purpose after 50 and how important that is. Um, because so many folks, it's like, once they retire, there are statistics that Dwayne shares about how soon people die after they retire, because that was their purpose of why they woke up, they had to get to work, they had to meet deadlines. And now that they don't have that, we've got to cultivate purpose within ourselves. I agree wholeheartedly. I mean, I was talking about that to my friend. I'm working harder now than ever before. You are. I love what I do.

17And like I'm going to be teaching in Vancouver, the VRIC, Vancouver Resource Investment Conference. Okay. And January 25th and 26th was a plug. But I enjoy it. Yeah. I enjoy it. I get paid a lot, but I don't need any more money. Yeah. But it's the feeling that my work or my life has importance yet. That's crucial. Yeah. And I meet other people who don't have that. or they don't have their friends anymore. Like this year alone, I had three friends die, all younger than me. And it's kind of lonely. You just be able to call them. They're gone. One guy died of pancreatic cancer. Another guy, he's really tragic, probably the happiest guy I know, he committed suicide.

17Oh, my gosh. He would be the last guy because he was always happy. Yeah. Happy, happy, happy, happy, happy guy. There's no guarantee how long you'll live, but. Sure. It's, there's no sense living like, um, you know, a sweet potato in a bed or something all day long. Yeah. Yeah. Well, my grandma's 93 years old and, uh, you know, I sent her a copy of the book, of course. and you know she always every time I talk to her uh she reminds me that you know she is all about positive thinking positive she says positive positive positive Hal you can't think negatively you've got to think positively so she's got the right mindset that's allowing her at 93 to still be active and go to church and she interacts with you know her friend groups But then also I was talking to my mom was visiting.

12She left this morning. She is 67. I have a funny story about her and the new book. But she told me that her mother, my grandma, the 93-year-old grandma I mentioned, she has drank lemon water every day since my mom was a kid. And we talk about there is science behind how lemon and salt, how it alkalizes your body and so on and so forth. And, and it was, you know, I think that really is one of the secrets to longevity is simply squeeze some lemon in the water every day. And it does so much to detoxify your blood, alkalize your system and so on and so forth. And, you know, my grandma's living proof.

52I would say if she had to sum up her secret to success and living long, healthy life, it's lemon water every day and a positive attitude. I think that's what she would tell you. That's good news. Okay. We'll take a break. We'll be right back with Hal Elrod, author of The Miracle Morning. His latest book is called Miracle Warning, where old guys take me over 50. And I had no idea how much a difference a few years can make in your life. Oh, wow. I'm looking forward to reading your book. And we'll be right back talking more to Hal Elrod. Be right back.

28Whether you're solving murders during breakfast, cracking cold cases on your commute, or playing amateur detective at bedtime. Amazon Music's got millions of podcast episodes waiting. Just download the Amazon Music app and start listening to your favorite true crime podcasts ad-free, included with Prime. Welcome back. Robert Kiyosaki, Rich Dad Radio Show. Commercial message we're talking about to Hal Elrod, Author of the Miracle Morning for those over 50. His first book, Miracle Morning, was fantastic. but one of the things I found out for guys my age, I'm actually not 80, I'm 79 this year. Okay.

10That's close enough. Yeah. But it's crucial to have a purpose in your life. And for me, the thing I love doing more is teaching. And I teach my cash flow board game, this game here all over the world. Wow. So I'll be at the VRIC, Vancouver Resource Investment Conference for those interested in gold and silver. And then I'll be in Charlotte, North Carolina on February 3rd for Aspire, A-S-P-I-R-E. It's a financial seminar and personal growth. So again, I love teaching. It keeps me alive. Travel kind of gets to me over the distances. But once I'm teaching, my spirit comes alive. Yeah. You and I share that in common, Robert.

55For those of you who are doing anything, hopefully you're doing work that makes your spirit happy. If you do that, the rest of you is going to be happier than ever. So, Al, what else can a person do over 50 that's different? You know, like there's one book I was reading by Dr. Atiyah, I think his name is. I didn't know until I read the book. He says, when you hit 75, the bottom drops out. What? Because what happened for me, I didn't know. I went right past 75. And I kept working the same way I was working before I was 75. And as Dr. Atiyah, he's all over YouTube, and he talks about exercise and all that.

41But at 75, my mistake I made was I didn't change what I was doing. I can still teach as much. I can still do what I love, what I was doing. But at 75, life changes. so that's why when I saw your new book coming out Miracle Born of Older 50 I said it's appropriate because sometimes when you're young you don't know what it feels like to be old and that's the hard part and it's best to prepare for old age, if you're lucky you'll live to old age, if you're really lucky you'll be dead before like some of my friends are but it's all life and death and your friends are crucial and all that stuff Anything else, Hal, can you tell us about it?

30Yeah. You mentioned purpose and that's one of the big themes of the Miracle Morning After 50 is finding your purpose after 50 and really emphasizing as you're approaching retirement. So whether you're already retired or that you are approaching retirement, maybe it's five or 10 years off, but that you already are thinking about what's life going to be like so that it's meaningful and purposeful after retirement. And I use my mom as an example. She, you know, she's never told me what her purpose in life is, but observing her, there's two things I would say that come up for my mom. Number one is she, she volunteers.

13She's always volunteered since I was a kid, but to this, it's more important. Now she sits with people who are dying in hospice. She has donated blood as often as she's allowed to for the last 50 years. She volunteers at the Elks Lodge and she's always volunteering and she always has. However, if I really look at a deeper purpose for my mom, it's to bring joy to the lives of other people. My mother, every week, she hosts karaoke parties at her house. She goes dancing at least once a week. She is, and so she's always, and all of her friends, Robert, she's 67. All of her friends are in their 70s, 80s, and 90s, and she brings them out of their homes.

07She, and she gets them dancing and singing and playing board games and living life. And I was, I told her this when I picked her up from the airport the other day, I said, mom, I don't know if you ever thought about this, but this is how I see your purpose. You are just a source of love and light and joy. And you don't just do it for yourself. Selfishly, you grab everybody around you. You say, Hey, let's go have a great time. And it really resonated with her. And she said, no, yeah, you're, you're actually, you're right. It brings her joy, just like teaching brings you joy, Robert, but you're enriching the lives of the people who you're teaching to.

46And she's enriching the lives of all of these friends and people around her. And, you know, people, I actually made a documentary for my mother last year. It's a 10 minute documentary. Anybody can watch it on YouTube. It's called Julie. Her name is Julie, J U L I E. And I made that documentary and we went and interviewed her friends. And again, they're all in their seventies and eighties and nineties. And they just said, she makes everybody happy. She is the life of the party. She, you know, and I just thought, what a great legacy for her. She, you know, she's, she's not changing millions of lives.

20And to me, it's about quality over quantity. I think many people think I've got to change the world. No, just change your world, change the lives of the people that you live with and your immediate family and your extended family and your friends. And that's it. She's changing the lives of the people who she loves. And I think that's what purpose is really about. Yeah. Well said. That's very well said. I agree wholeheartedly. And then my subject is money. What does a person over 50 do about their money? Because like I said, I think the S &P 500, I hope I'm wrong. I think we're in for a major correction because we pumped too much fake money into the system.

01Our national debt is now$38 trillion, $38 trillion in national debt. And rising. Like I said, Social Security was made for people who lived to 60. Now people are going beyond that. Social Security and Medicare possibly will run out of money. so what does what do you recommend for people to hang on to their money or make sure they have enough money to get them through old age yeah i would honestly say listen to robert kiyosaki uh this is it's not this is not my expertise and i've learned a lot from you um also it's not my you know i've done well for myself financially but i'm only 46 years old.

50So, right. So I don't, I don't have the real life experience that I would speak from in my sixties, seventies, eighties, so on and so forth. Now my coauthor is a self-made billionaire. So he also is in a different level of financial security. And so while we touched on that in this book, I would not tell anyone to read the miracle morning after 50 for financial advice. Um, that is absolutely, yeah, I would, I would, I would lean toward, you know, rich dad radio and, uh, And any books on retirement, on how to succeed in retirement? Have you written any books that are specific to that genre of how to do well in retirement?

28Or are they more just general financial? It doesn't make any difference if you're rich or you're poor. What happens for many people is our mindset doesn't change. If you're poor at 50, you'll probably be poor at 80. yeah do you know what I mean if you don't have it in your hands by 50 there's something wrong but you try and tell that oh I got time I got time I got time yeah oh I have a 401k and like I said the baby boomers are the first generation with a 401k or an IRA the boomers are the first generation that if they run out of money they're out of money wow in retirement that's why I wrote this book here who stole my pension.

15And what's happening on Wall Street right now is they're stealing pensions. So they're going into like teachers and pilots. I was a pilot. I pilot. My friends all became commercial pilots. I had enough flying. And their pensions got stolen. So when they were 65, they went, wait a minute. So they had to go back to work at 65. So a lot of people don't take money too seriously because they've had it for, it was easy. Yeah. My experience is, is when you pass 65, if you don't have money now at 65, you got some big mindset changes to make. So that's how the cashflow board game and all that is to change your mindset.

01You know, because the reason I like board games is my rich dad taught me everything playing Monopoly. Yeah. You know, and I play Monopoly in real life today. I own hotels and apartment houses. I use debt and all this. But those guys like Dave Ramsey, who is a good friend of mine, he says live debt-free. And that's good advice, too, if you don't know anything about debt. Yeah. You shouldn't go get into debt. And there's a bunch of characters that all mention their name because they're always attacking me. They tell people stupid things like, go and buy a$20 million apartment house, then figure it out.

37I'm going, what? As you know, there's a lot of bad information out there. Sure. Well, the most important thing is a person has to do what they know they can do. And unfortunately, many people, if you're 50 and you're not a multimillionaire, there's something wrong. There's something seriously wrong. Because I think, if I'm wrong again, we're heading into a rough economy. You know, we've pumped so much money into the economy. It's called the everything bubble. Yeah. you know it's gonna crash so when the S &P goes down my generation a Burma generation and all they got is our house oh my god so anyway that's that's that's kind of my shtick in all this yeah Robert what do you see happening in the real estate market I mean I feel like it should have crashed you know I feel like they're just pinning it up and it should have crashed five years ago you know minimum uh we had our big crash in 2008 and it's been what 17 years going on 18 years since then.

37What do you see with the future of the real estate market here in the next couple years? Well, as most people know, the biggest disaster is office buildings because the technology changed again. And so people don't go to offices anymore. So these REITs, most of these financial planners, we should be arrested and put in jail. They put people in things like, oh, it's safe as a bond well there's nothing safe out there yeah because technology is changing everything so quickly yeah office buildings they're putting people in reits real estate investment trusts and office buildings are the biggest disaster going and so these stupid baby boomers oh my financial plan is to do this i said will your financial plan guarantee it i've you know for most of my life I said gold, silver, and today Bitcoin and Ethereum.

38Yeah. You know, just something that is sound money. Yeah. And I think that's crucial, except that it's hard to get people, as you know, Hal, it's hard to change after 52. Yeah. Yeah. Your brain gets kind of as stiff as your joints do. Robert, I'm glad you said that because I actually want to mention, I think that what What makes the miracle morning after 50, if I had to pick the most important aspect of what someone's going to get from that book, it's really what you just said. It's a shift in their mindset. And if you go back to the original miracle morning, the whole premise of it was that if you win the morning, you set yourself up to win the day.

22Or more specifically, you put yourself in a peak physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual state first thing in the morning. And then you're able to show up as your most resourceful, your happiest, your most disciplined, productive self for your family at work, in your health when it comes to maintaining self-discipline. And so that really is it, is that the miracle morning after 50 will enable you. I mean, the subtitle really says it. It's a proven path to joy, vitality, and purpose for aging adults. And so that's really it. Wake up feeling better, feeling happy, feeling more purposeful, having more energy, more vitality.

06And that improves every aspect of your life. So your relationships improve because you improve and so on and so forth. Outstanding. we're going to take a run, but I wish you the best of luck in your book, Al. Yeah. And support many people out there, you know, with their going over 50. Thank you for your support, Robert. I'm so grateful for you, my friend. Thank you, my friend. And we could be back with my final word from Rich Dad. We'll be right back. Thank you.

I want to thank Hal Elrod, Miracle Morning. His first book I enjoyed immensely. And I use it, and I haven't seen his latest book over 50. but I highly recommend it simply because as Dr. Atiyah found out at 74 your life changes drastically and we weren't supposed to live this long but now we're living longer and longer and longer and as you know many people run out of money my generation because as I said we're the first generation with a 401k so once again give me a hand keep me alive out here I love teaching I'll be at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference here in Vancouver, British Columbia, January 25th and 26th.

46And I'll be in Charlotte, North Carolina, February 3rd with Aspire, A-S-P-I-R-E, tour. It's personal finance. So I'll be talking about how you can get rich and stay rich forever. I'll say this again. It's a harsh thing to say, but if you're not a multimillionaire by 50, you did something wrong, or start changing your thinking, simply because we've come through the easiest time to get rich was the period from 1960 to 2020. But if you haven't made it in that period of time, the economy, I hope I'm wrong again, was going to change. So if you're still waiting to make it and you're 50 years old, I would definitely start thinking differently.

Life changes in ways most people aren't prepared for—and those changes become impossible to ignore after 50. In this powerful conversation, Robert Kiyosaki and Hal Elrod dive into what really shifts as we age, including energy, health, money, mindset, and purpose. More importantly, they explore why so many people feel lost, anxious, or unprepared for this stage of life.

You'll hear honest insights about aging, financial security, and the emotional reality of realizing time is no longer unlimited. The discussion challenges the idea that life slows down or loses meaning after 50, and instead reframes this phase as a critical opportunity to reset priorities, rebuild confidence, and live with intention.

This episode isn't about fear—it's about awareness. Whether you're approaching 50, already there, or thinking about the years ahead, you'll gain perspective on how preparation, mindset, and purpose matter more than ever. The conversation encourages viewers to stop drifting, stop avoiding hard truths, and start designing a life that aligns with what truly matters.

If you've ever wondered what's next—or felt the quiet pressure of time—this episode will resonate deeply.
