Like how you should only drink Jägermeister at zero degrees Fahrenheit. Ice cold. Like those frozen cavemen they find. Which makes you wonder, what would a caveman think of Jägermeister? Well, if you served it warm, he'd probably throw it in your face, say Oonga Boonga, and storm off. And nobody wants that. So drink it cold or not at all. Jägermeister. Damn, that's cold. Drink responsibly. Jägermeister liqueur, 35 % alcohol by volume. Imported by Masked Jägermeister, US, White Plains, New York. You said you were over him, but his hoodie is still in your rotation.

12100 goals, the literal, this is it now. In terms of metrics, he's the literal goat. The fastest man to score 100 goals for a new club. 100 goals and 104 appearances for Bayern Möncheng. what a guy just feels feels like a real privilege in many ways to have seen his career unfold from start to finish the wild ride of a young Harry Kane coming into the fold for Tottenham scoring those goals, carrying us for such a long time and maybe maybe we'll again who knows you know there's a lot there's a lot of talk isn't there there's quite a lot to talk about today actually really takeover bids
14Harry Kane scoring loads of goals Mikey Moore Mathis Tell loads of stuff will I do it justice no probably not but here we are back in the inner sanctum previewing the Wolves game It's Friday evening. I've just seen... I keep forgetting the name of the film. The New Paul Thomas Anderson. Another battle or something like that. What's it called?
45One battle after another. Another battle. One battle after another. Very good. I won't say any more. But very good film. as you would expect. If you're a fan of Paul Thomas Anderson, you'll like it. If you haven't been a massive fan of Paul Thomas Anderson to this point, I think there's every chance that you could like it as well. So, yeah, I've just come back from the cinema. And now here I am to talk about lots of different things. Where to begin? Where to begin? I've spoken about Harry Kane. That's good, isn't it? Well done, Harry. Let's have him back. and there's a lot of talk right now, isn't there, about Mikey Moore and about this seemingly disastrous Rangers loan that he's currently got going on.
43They don't seem to like him very much, the Rangers fans. If Twitter is the yardstick, they are not overly enamored with him. I think they were perhaps expecting the second coming after lots of hype and are surprised that what is he a 17 18 year old lad um maybe needs a bit more time and it's quite interesting isn't it because now there's like a full there's a full-on kind of like discussion into how good or not Mikey Moore might be what his future holds and all this type of stuff and I just I find it and this is from Spurs fans and I just find this I find it quite odd I really do feel that even by football's own standards and even by like and I don't think this is a Spurs fan thing I think this is football in general I think you probably get players like Yamin Yimou come along who
50skew things a bit right like you got a lad there who has burst onto the scene and is looking like one of the world's best players at whatever it was, 17 years old or so when he was first kind of dominating at the Euros and everything like that.
08We've obviously seen similar in the past with players like Wayne Rooney who have burst onto the scene in a similar-ish fashion. Quite an interesting thing of him sort of talking about Harry Kane earlier this week but I mean the point is I think that right now the overall kind of conversation around football Max Dowman Yamin Amal Luka Williams Barnett, Mikey Moore it's all been kind of skewed people are expecting kind of every every promising young player to be an absolute worldie immediately or else that's it or else they're kind of washed and they're never going to make it and I do find it I just find it a bit grim you know I find it I find it grim I find it a bit boring and to a degree I kind of judge people who do it I judge them in the respect that I think they're a bit thick I just think it's a really I think it's a really weird thing to do I think there's a difference between like being a bit loose when you're chatting during a match or on WhatsApp or something right and you're saying to like your pals I think blah blah blah is a bit shit actually you know and then you can all sort of poke fun at it.
43This happens all the time like in plenty of the WhatsApp groups I'm in one of us will state some big opinion about one of our players and then that player will score a goal 10, 20 minutes later or make an assist or something like that. And it's sharing those great knowledge there, mate, great scouting, brilliant stuff. And that's part and parcel of football, isn't it? That's sort of the fun part of football.
14But when people sort of create these agendas and when they do it publicly, when they use things like Twitter and stuff to sort of start these kind of campaigns about players and stuff. It's kind of bizarre. And Mikey Moore is only getting it a little bit from Spurs fans, but who is getting it quite a lot from Spurs fans is Tell. Now, I didn't watch the Doncaster game the other night. Apologies for no post-match pod on that one. I was at a... Well, it wasn't an NCT. It was... I think it's called like Happy Parents, Happy Babe. It's like a right, it's NCT's rival, basically. And I was at one of those.
57And I was trying to get somebody to jump on when I got back from that to like, you know, do you want to do the post-match pod? And you can sort of explain to me what happened during the game. But funnily enough, not many people really fancy doing a podcast at like 10 o 'clock on a Wednesday night. So, yeah, I did. I wasn't going to jump on. I know I can talk a lot of shit. I can sit here and waffle for a long time. But I thought that would probably be even a bit beyond me, to be honest.
35What I understand in the aftermath of this is that Tell had a bit of a horror show. He missed a few guilt-edged chances. Looked like he was in his own head a bit. and I've seen some people sharing on Twitter a post from his personal Instagram. So he's got a finster that somehow or another, you know, it's just what the internet does, isn't it? The internet's tracked down his finster and it had shared an image of a kid holding a banner that said something like, Mathis, your future is bright. The haters ain't right. He shared that after the game. So, you know, he's obviously in his own head a bit.
30And I think it's fine for people to criticise this player and for people to have their opinions about him. At the end of the day, he's in the cold, miserable side of football. And I think this stuff is relevant to a degree. And I'm not saying this to excuse abuse, especially not any racist abuse or anything like that, but abuse or just general kind of personal attacks. But the fact that their job is in the public eye, they earn loads and loads of money. It does make it different than when people draw those comparisons. Like, how would you like it if you went to work and people were screaming all sorts of negative things about you all the time?
17And it's like, well, I mean, that does happen for a lot of people at their jobs. And most people, I mean, what's the national average salary? 35 grand a year, I think, in the UK, give or take. You know, that would be a poor salary for a week for a Premier League footballer. So there is a difference there. You get duly compensated for your ability, but also from the fact you have to perform in public, the scrutiny that you're placed under, the fact that there are so many people watching what you do, and they watch what you do to be entertained. And if you're not entertaining them, then they get annoyed about it.
02And I think there's many discussions here. spooky spoken you know a lot down the years hasn't he about people treating going to the football as if it's going to the theater you part with x amount of money and people go and expect to be entertained in the way that if you are parting with money for a film or for a theater performance or a musical concert. A musical concert? Yeah, a concert or something like that, a gig. That's what the kids call it, isn't it? A gig or something like that. You expect to be entertained, but football, there isn't any guarantee on that, is there? And look, we can debate sort of how entitled or not people are to voice that concern but I think I would rather just deal with the fact of the matter that some people will voice their concern some people will voice their frustration with poor performances from a team from individuals and that's kind of what happens I think the issue for me though and I take this with many of the conclusions that have been drawn about Spurs right now is that we're so early into a new season number one but like I said a whole new chapter in the club again and I know that the past few years kind of carry with them a level of like scarring but I took the opportunity and maybe this is just an age thing you know maybe this is just my age and having seen Tottenham not win anything for almost half my life which is which is genuinely really mad when I reflect on that you know like it is one of those things and it is it is quite cliched and stuff but I was actually quite I was I will say I was all right about turning 40 and I've said this before a lot of people got we are worried about it people get worried about these significant kind of you know landmarks I sort of I lost my nut a bit when I turned 30 you know I didn't like that I didn't like where I was or anything like that I think I've spoken about this on here before but you know I didn't really like where I was at in life at that point and I didn't have a very good opinion of myself and all that type of stuff then but when I was turning 40 I was like this is fine like I'm turning 40 I think just to be quite sort of not grim about it but complitative about it as well is that I would I've seen now I'm old enough to now have seen like people who I went to school with or people just you know in my life die and I mean people my age is what I mean and so there is that part of me now where the older I get I kind of think you know what this isn't something to be sad about this is something to be happy about you know it's a privilege to get older really because not everybody's that lucky so you know that's that's something to reflect upon oh god how the hell did I get here I haven't even had a drink I do you know I haven't even had a drink and I'm getting all mopey on my Friday night podcast um my age yet has probably given me some sort of reflection and not in the respect of like oh I have tapped into this you know this higher truth now that I have turned 40 years old I see it more just that like I say I
45hadn't seen Spurs win something for almost half my life and suddenly winning something again just like reaffirmed why is it we do this that that's sort of that hope of winning something and that's why it's so glorious and that's why to take it back to the point about theatre and gigs and all that type of stuff this is why the highs of football the highs of sport are better than anything else anyone anyone knows you know who listens who's listened to me with a run-on podcast for the past however long knows how much I love film you know it's it's you know it's my favorite art form and I love it I can lose I could watch a film I could watch several films every single day if I could, you know?
36I just love it. I love movies. I love being transported to another world and all that type of thing, right? But even like the greatest films, the films that evoke like, you know, certain feelings or whatever in me, nothing can compare to Amsterdam, you know? What compares to that? Nothing can compare to Bilbao. Nothing can compare to Harry Kane's mask goal against Arsenal. When you want your spring break to feel like... And your kid's pool day to feel like... 18:31And those moments come out of nowhere and they're well worth the wait. And it makes me appreciate the wait and it makes me remember why I love the club. And ultimately, as much as I can moan about things on here, I always want what's best for the club. and right now I don't think what's best for the club is to have the fan base who have been just given one of the greatest nights of their lives in winning the Europa League then that trophy parade now Champions League football and a good start to this season I don't think this fan base really, really, if I'm really honest about it, and yeah, I do say this on the position of somebody that doesn't really go to games anymore or anything, I don't pay for my tickets.
30But I also feel emboldened to say this because I've paid for a lot of Spurs tickets in my lifetime as well, right? You know, like I've been to a lot of games, so I feel like I can have at least some opinion on the matter. and I feel right now what's best for the club is just to get behind the club and all its constituent parts and I think that includes supporting and lifting up a 20 year old lad that yeah right we had him on loan last season but we've only signed on a permanent basis this summer as he kind of adapts to a new league and all this type of stuff you know I've seen some people say already no he just doesn't have it in him where where's that where have you drawn that from i don't think there's any real basis for you to say that this lad doesn't have it in him when he has been doing well at buying munich before in the past when he does well every time he goes away on international duty with the french under 21s and even the french senior teams as well
34i see glimmers of promising him and what i would say is it was only a few weeks months ago that loads of people were all digging out archie gray and saying now what a waste of money what have we done there and now everyone's waxing lyrical after a performance against doncaster you know it's you know i get it people are frustrated and people sort of just say things that are kind of on the tip of their tongue and they want to blurt it out and the internet is often the safe space to do that type of thing. However, I do sort of feel like we tell it's just gone beyond that a bit. Like, I think just get off the kid's case, you know?
18Get off his case, get behind him, get behind the team. Like, we shouldn't be having a referendum on players at this point in the season. We've started the season well. like you know even after the Villarreal game our first our first game in the Champions League for a few years the first game of our Champions League campaign we won against a team that aren't farmers they're a decent team and like relatively speaking they're not a million miles away from Spurs like let's be real like relative to their own league and all that type of thing you know so Relatively speaking, we're in a fairly similar position.
00We've beaten him, kept a clean sheet. We're still moaning about it. It's funny. I don't know. It's kind of getting to me a bit. I don't mean to be pious about it because I know I can be prone to complaining about stuff from time to time. But I just think right now is not the time. It's not the time for that. and I think leave Ted alone leave leave Mikey more alone just let these lads develop you know give them a bit of space to breathe get them a bit of space to grow
46and then we can you know I don't know I just don't does this even need to be said you know It's quite mad to me. It's quite mad. But, you know, here we are. And here we are on the brink of an apparent takeover as well. What's he called? He's called like Brooklyn Eric or something, isn't he? Some former DJ turned tech bro who... Where is it? What's his name?
28i'll try to find it now brooklyn eric eric let's just call it eric brooklyn eric's instagram story seems to refer to the deadline by which he'd need to make enough of it or so that he went blah blah yeah so he's been sharing sort of stuff to his instagram story um he shared like a photograph from the sun talking about the potential takeover saying quite the morning um and he shared a he shared a picture like the tottenham dressing room with a timer at the you know when the picture was screenshotted and shared so this was when about what doesn't really matter had like a 27 day timer on it um this was earlier today all a bit cryptic and everything um I mean it's a bit mad isn't it it's a bit mad like the point was made to me by I can't remember who it was one of my mates though on whatsapp saying it could be funny to go from somebody like Levy who was so shy of talking in public to this guy who's doing instagram updates at the moment um don't really know how I feel about this to be honest um but my mate so a mate of mine who sort of works in the corporate sports world and all that sort of stuff he basically said that this guy is a bit of a twat every company he started has failed every takeover he's been linked with involves other people's money and usually collapses.
17So that's, yeah, I mean, that's where we're at. It feels like somebody maybe, yeah, on a self-publicity kind of drive.
33But who knows? You know, who knows? I think the news did come out today that Spurs had officially... rejected a deal. So there has been a deal issued. You know, somebody has offered several billion pounds to the club and the noises coming out of Tottenham, per Alistair Gold, I believe it is, are that the Lewis's reaffirm their stance that they want to take the club forward and they want to usher in this new era at Tottenham. they want to be at the helm if you like um so yeah you know
18let's just hope that they do actually want to do this you know that they do want to be serious about it and i think i know this sounds a bit knee-jerk but i do think the proof will be in the pudding come January um because we're obviously still a bit light we obviously still need to add more players our summer business wasn't complete you know we wanted that left winger we wanted Savino um and I know business is hard to do in January and all that type of thing but it's not hard if you really want to make stuff happen is it so we'll see you know we'll see what the Lewis's have got up their sleeve or if it is going to be Brooklyn Eric coming in and sorting it out
16Tottenham versus Wolves Wolves have they lost I think they've lost every single game this season so far cue dr tottenham isn't it that's the yeah played five lost five which is quite wild um for a team who are all right aren't they like i don't feel like wolves are a played five lost five kind of team you know um i sort of feel like they're actually pretty decent I'm just I'm sorry I'm just looking through their kind of players now and I'm like yeah I mean they are they're a decent team they got a lot of good players what is going on I don't know I don't know what's going on but let's just hope that they can continue this um because I do it would be nice to have a win wouldn't it I think I think it'd be nice for Spurs to to notch a win here and I think it's something that we should be doing.
24Thomas Frank has had his press conference obviously you know it's nothing new he says that there's no fresh injury concerns with the same squad involved in the Carabao Cup victory over Doncaster available again. Pat Matassar trained on Friday having missed the midweek clash through a precaution whilst Rando Kolomuani picked up a dead leg before cup duties and is still unavailable now you know all the stuff I was just saying about not being knee-jerk and giving players a bit of time and all this type of stuff right I'm not immune and this this is why I would I will let you know I'm not pious and all that type of thing right because there's that bit of me that's just like I've just got a bad feeling about Mwani I mean it's not that bad a feeling he's a lone player at the end of the day but what I mean is I kind of just feel like I feel like he doesn't fancy it I feel like he maybe just doesn't maybe just doesn't fancy it maybe doesn't fancy
37maybe doesn't fancy Spurs I don't know I don't know you know I don't know what do I base that on I base that on the fact that this this stat that's been shared a lot is that he's he's I think he's only missed two games through injury or something in his whole career and until he's come for Spurs and now this will be his his third game he's missed already for injury I mean you couldn't write it could you um

I've got to say I do miss him from the Tottenham the Tottenham what's like the Tottenham equivalent of the Manosphere, Manosphere is like Andrew Tate and all that right isn't it that's what they call it the Totosphere Totmanosphere I don't know Equishare is good, good chat, good value if you haven't listened to it yet have a listen back really really good really enjoyed it he's a pro smooth operator
13Dominic Solanke remains out of contention for the clash against Wolves but Thomas Frank is relatively positive he will be back quickly he did say that the other day didn't he not quick enough for my liking he was asked if the striker had suffered a setback he said when you've had that bit of pain it's important to get it right he wasn't training on grass today but he has been during the week Radu Dragasin's recovery is also progressing well follow the following the ACL injury he suffered at the start of next year but it will be some weeks before he can return now there was one of these weird things where people were talking about I saw people talking about Dragosin Radu Dragosin so he is 23 years old which means he is only he's basically the same age as Xavi Simmons and the same age as like Antonin Kinski as well which that's how age works people have a set amount of years from the point at which they were you know birthed from their mothers and then time goes forwards and you accumulate those times in certain units.
27Days, months, years, weeks as well in there that I've missed out. But yeah, Dragerson, the point I'm driving at is I thought Dragerson was younger than he is, but older than he is. Fucking hell. I thought he was older than he is.
47But he's not. so maybe he needs a bit of time as well I don't know does he need a bit of time I sort of feel like Frank is going to like him right and I say that mainly based on the fact that Dragasin seems like quite an out and out defender do you know what I mean he seems like somebody that if you support him in the right way you don't come here for the tactics but still if you support him in the right way he could be a decent you know member of a member of a team. He was great for, he was absolutely great for Romania in the, was it well, a couple of euros before we signed him. Euros. He was absolutely fantastic for Romania.
26So, I don't know. It's just a lot of people saying it, and I'm just parroted. Do you know what I've done there? I've just parroted. I've seen what other people have said, which is, oh, Frank will love him. Oh, I feel like Frank's going to love Dragosin. I just sort of see people saying that, and they don't really qualify that opinion with anything. They say, oh Frank will love him and so I sort of parrot that because you know that's what I do in it you know it's what we all do to a degree you know and here I am propagating this on my on my podcast
11last. He was asked about the takeover and Frank said the club is not for sale. He said the owners have been very transparent, very good in communicating, very clear. The club is not for sale. For me personally, I find it a stable environment coming into work every day. And I also learned a lot over the years that the only thing that helps me and helps the team is that I do everything I can to focus on the team I can't remember who it is that said it but there was another piece of like ITK wasn't there that Thomas Frank has been given assurances by the Lewis's as well the Luise should we say that that he's going to be backed he's going to be given money so yeah we'll see he He's quite an interesting one, Frank, though, isn't he?

04Because he does speak in quite plain fashion. And he's quite disarming. I think most of our managers have spoken in kind of... They've used an air of doublespeak. Pochettino, who I loved, as I'm sure you all know, Pochettino would speak in sort of strained metaphors. Jose Mourinho would create these kind of narratives and things that he would talk behind it. Half the time you would be thinking, what's he going on about? Antonio Conte, obviously, his command of English wasn't that strong. I'm not saying that in like a, you know, I'm trying not to be offensive about it. so often he you know he sort of made his point in a in a more i don't know poetic fashion if you like at times and ang was and was quite blunt but himself wasn't free from
11an air of ambiguity in a certain way you know um but Frank is quite straight talking and I was I was actually quite surprised surprised and it's not an opinion that's original I've seen quite a few people say this but I was quite surprised to see him just out and out say that he'd he'd definitely have Harry Kane back um and I sort of wonder I sort of wonder if he was saying this in that way of like yeah of course we would because he's really really good in the respect that like you know I'm sure a manager would joke we'll have Mbappe kind of thing we take Haaland the sort of gloss has gone from Mbappe a bit hasn't it the past few years so maybe he won't be turning his nose up at us in the next few years you know there was that whole Spider-Man thing wasn't there when he met Tom Holland and Tom Holland was like go on come to Spurs the team I support and he like laughed it wound me up a bit that you know I didn't like that but it's what it is Tom Strank was asked about Wolves and he said we're facing a good Wolves side, everyone's aware that they haven't had the best start in terms of points their games have been very tight this is a team that the last five times we've played we haven't been able to beat we need to come flying out, be ready for it, have the fans behind us, they need to back us in every second of the game I'm confident that we will perform good
53so I'm just having a look now Spurs will be overwhelming favourites in this game we have failed to win any of our previous five meetings with Wolves we've lost four of those games as well and our last victory came courtesy of Harry Kane's 250th goal for the club in August 2022. That's quite mad, isn't it?
25I just want to have a look at the past. We played Wolves. So in all competitions, we've played Wolves a grand total of 86 times. we've drawn 18 of those games and lost 28 we've won 40 times so we've we've had the we've had the lion's share or the cocks share should i say in this animal game are most teams no not most teams are animals really are they lots of teams are animals but we cocks their wolves um 40 times we've beaten them so nice tottenham have lost four of their last five league meetings with wolves blah blah blah you've done that bit um wolves have only lost two of their last eight premier league visits to tottenham won four drawn two avoiding defeat in their most recent two one one drawn one wolves have lost all five of their premier league games this season with only three sides ever losing each of their first six in a single campaign.
34Do you want to know who they were? Well I'm going to tell you. It was Portsmouth in 0-9-10, Palace in 17-18 and Norwich in 21-22. Tottenham have earned 10 points in their five Premier League games under Thomas Frank so far. Won three, drawn one, lost one. Double the amount they won in their final 12 games under Ange Postacoglu. Won one, drawn two, lost nine.
03Tottenham are unbeaten in their last 15 Premier League games against sides starting the day at the bottom of the table. We've won 12 of those and drawn three. However, each of their last five such defeats have come against teams starting with the letter W. West Bromwich Albion times three, Wigan times one, West Ham times one. Only Liverpool, with seven, have scored more second half goals in the Premier League this season than Tottenham, with six, while Spurs are the only side yet to concede after half-time. That's pretty mad, and that's pretty good. Wolves have been trailing at half-time in each of their last nine Premier League games.
48No team has ever gone into the interval behind in 10 consecutive matches before i mean these stats are stacking up aren't they tottenham have lost 10 goals from an xg of 6.1 in the premier league this season only liverpool with 11 goals 7 xg have over performed their expected goals more than spurs 3.9 hang on okay right so we've scored 10 goals from an xg of 6.1 and liverpool have got 11 from seven so rxg is we've exceeded our expected goals by 3.9 goals right okay um is that a good thing or a bad thing is is it is over performing i never i don't i never feel that as a clear line on this right because i sort of remember people using that as something to celebrate sonny with and also as a stick to beat him with oh he performs his he overperforms on his xg wasn't that good you were saying that was a good thing the other day come on all three of mohammed kudis's premier league assists to tottenham hotspot this season have been for richarlison it's the most any player has assisted another so far this term while only Jack Grealish with four has more assists overall.
13Richarlison has scored six goals in 12 Premier League games against Wolves. Against no side has he netted more in the competition. He's also got six against Leicester.
28I know Dr. Tottenham and all that funny stuff, but I do expect us to do the business here. I've got to say, I expect us to beat Wolves. I want us to beat Wolves, obviously. Sort of goes without saying, doesn't it? So let's beat Wolves, eh? Let's do it. Come on, you Spurs.
57I think we're going to keep a clean sheet and I think we're going to score. I think we're going to win 3-0 there you go that's my prediction for today I think we're going to win 3-0 so let's go with that let's go with that and let's do that and let's hope we have a nice 8 o 'clock kick off man 8 o 'clock kick off like fuming having to wait all day to do that I don't mean I've got a bloody podcast after that. Do you know what I mean? So what I want to do, it's a bit of a break. When I get a three o 'clock kick-off on a Saturday, which is a rarity, really, nowadays. Nowadays, if you want a three o 'clock kick-off, you know, get arrested and thrown in jail.
47But do you know what I mean? On my weekend, I want to chill out a bit. I don't want to be sat here prattling on into my microphone. i'll still do it won't i still do it serving you up serving you up serving you up my slop into the trough little pigs gobbling it all up won't you what's he got to say today what's the what's the podcast man what's the the flappy mouthed know it all got to say today eh oh he likes papa matassar does he oh well done we haven't heard him say that before oh he's starting to get his vicario agenda yeah yeah you've said that plenty of times mate oh you think you need to upgrade him brilliant mate get some more material eight o 'clock eight o 'clock kickoff i'm not even going to the game i beg your pardon i was one of those weird like
54a sort of burp hiccup thing I think when you're diaphragming it when it doesn't really know what it's doing it's just having a bit of a spasm and I'm not saying that as a slur I'm saying it as literally like a you know whatever
13I think I'll leave that one there I think I'll leave that one there but thanks very much for listening thanks for all the support I appreciate it and like I say if you haven't listened to it yet do listen back to the podcast with Charlie Eccleshire because it was really good I really enjoyed it really enjoyable chat apologies about no Doncaster pods you can blame the impending arrival for that
