In short
Reaction to AS Monaco 0-0 Tottenham in the Champions League, with Spurs praised for remaining unbeaten but heavily criticized for a “non-event” match, bizarre starting XI, and lack of attacking quality. The host argues Thomas Frank’s tactics/ambition may be questionable, and that Spurs need more experienced, high-caliber signings rather than relying on young players.
Guest backgrounds
No guests appear in the transcript. The episode is a solo fan reaction with live listener comments.
Key claims
The match was forgettable and offered little attacking threat; Spurs weren’t “bad” but “not very good,” with scrappy, panicked play and no clear plan beyond preventing goals. The host says Spurs look out of depth in Europe and points to missing goal-scoring contributions from last season. He expects improvement only after future windows and higher-profile recruitment.
Notable examples
Pat Matassar dropped/disappeared; Richarlison ineffective; Xavi Simons criticized for slowing attacks; goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario praised for keeping Spurs in it; defenders Kevin Danso and Mickey van der Ven praised; Archie Gray and Wilson Odobert discussed; Kudus relied on too much.

1:48So, what are you expecting from me? What do you want tonight? What do you want? What do you want from me? It's been years of this now. Years. Years of false dawns and trying to bright side a load of these performances. No, I'm not losing my bottom. We're unbeaten. Look, bright side. Bright side, we're unbeaten. Unbeaten in the Champions League this season. You're still thinking about the bad news, aren't you?
2:24what was I supposed to talk about with that one do you know what I mean you know
2:33completely forgettable game of football wasn't it Aklayouche looks good that lad we were linked to that we didn't sign he looks decent doesn't he
2:47Thomas Frank's starting 11 was quite bizarre what's he ate Papa Matassar for now why's he ate him so much what's he done he's been listening to the he's been listening to the Extra Inch hasn't he Thomas Frank listening to the Extra Inch and hearing all the Wendy's propaganda about Papa Matassar yeah you know I was talking to I was talking to a friend of the show Phil the other day yesterday day actually in the wake of Arsenal's game and obviously them being really good you know it's not very nice is it it's not very nice at all but we'd sort of come to this point and I know it's I know it's a bit kind of one of those oh yeah yeah you're right yeah tell us something we don't know but we sort of came to this point where we were like we could just do right we could just do with spurs actually just being really good now do you know what i mean like none of this kind of like tiptoe around maybe we'll be good if we sign this player or maybe we'll be good if that player stays fit or maybe we'll be good when these players gel well, maybe we'll be good when...
4:14And we sort of present all these scenarios, don't we? And we end up kind of being all right. Like, you know, there's definitely been some really quite acute lows down the past few years, but there was a massive high last year. And there have been highs in between. It's been such a sort of, what is it, you call it, slaloms going side to side, isn't it? What's the other one? Like, I don't know, a roller coaster. There you go. It's been a roller coaster. I was trying to think of something else. What I was trying to do there was be too smart for my own good. I didn't want to say rollercoaster because I thought that's too gauche.
4:50Everyone says a rollercoaster of emotions. And I felt like I was above it. And then I just said the slalom, and it's made myself look silly there, haven't I?
5:03There's been some ups, there's been some downs the past few years. But you know what? I just want Tottenham to be really good. I don't want to have to do these pods where I'm either holding back bits of my opinions. Because I'm like, oh, I don't want to go too hard. I don't want to go too hard too soon. I don't want to seem too fickle. I've been backing Frank up until this point. But has something just clicked the past few games where I'm like, nah, get rid of him. Get Glasner in. it hasn't but intrusive I did a tweet about this I did a tweet about intrusive thoughts and I think people don't get what intrusive thoughts are you know like intrusive thoughts are you know I don't know the worst possible thing you know when people say you know somebody's you're standing on a train platform and somebody nearby is talking really loudly on their phone or there's somebody being annoying around you and the intrusive thought is i could just push them on the tracks now i could push them in front of a train that's like an intrusive thought it's the thing that's like what's the worst thing that can happen in this situation it's just creeping there in the back of your head somewhere reminding you that ultimately that for all our kind of these layers of like societal programming we put on ourselves we are just instinctive beasts we're primates do you know i mean do you ever think like this is this is one of those old things i used to i used to think about when i was in a in a so you know in a certain uh frame of mind should we say in my youth me and my friends would say it's well weird isn't it when you're like walking around the streets and you see people driving cars people going to shops and all this sort of thing it's weird when you like view it when you view it through the prism of the fact We're all apes.
6:58You know, that's an ape driving a bus setters. When you're getting up on a plane, when you're flying 30 ,000 feet in the air, it's just an ape. Like, that's what it is, you know? You've got all your friends and family and stuff, all apes. Everyone's an ape. Looking in the mirror, it's an ape. It's like when an Indian elephant looks at an African elephant. That's us looking at a gorilla or something, you know? We're just apes. Got clothes on, all that type of stuff. intrusive thoughts though that's what it comes it's that it's that it's that what is it like the the you know the chimp brain programming there that in the wild what am i going to do here rip and tear bite bite main tear and the intrusive thought around this one is is thomas frank actually useless are the are the are the tactics lot are they actually correct are we horrible is it not that it's not a personnel thing is it not that you know there's these various things is it just quite simply that you know his ambition is stunted he's been too used to managing a let's be honest like far more inferior team in Brentford than Tottenham Hotspur.
8:28Say whatever you want about Tottenham, but we're a big club. Does he have the ambition? Does he have the mentality to take it to Spurs? You know, does he? That's an intrusive thought. I'm not saying that. I'm not projecting this. Well, I mean, I literally am, But what I'm saying is I'm not holding this as like a truth. I'm not holding this and saying, this is my theory on this. This is how I feel about Thomas Frank right now. What I'm saying is just somewhere in the back of my head, there's this nagging little thought where I'm like, does he actually know what he's doing here? Like, what's going on?
9:06You know, that starting 11 today, bizarre. Pat Matassar just completely disappeared from the team who has been one of our better players this season, just completely gone. But indeed, you look at this game, you look at certain passages of play, you look at certain players presented with certain opportunities, if you like, and then I am kind of like, a lot of these lot are useless, aren't they? A lot of these lot aren't very good. Richarlison, what's going on there? we're still hoping that one's going to come good get him out the door get him out the door don't want it anymore i'm sick of it get rid get rid of him dom solanke if you can't get fit lad if you can't man up out get him gone bring in you know i don't know get harry came back let's do that easy easy work I don't know I just want this to be good I'd love to have a season of doing these pods not just like the pods where I'm talking to other people I'd love to have a season of talking to other people where everyone's buzzing and we're sort of tripping over ourselves trying to like you know lavish superlatives upon Tottenham Hotspur Football Club I'd love to be doing these post-match pods imagine if I was doing imagine if I was doing these post-match pods in 16-17 I mean I wouldn't have been doing them because I actually went to games back then but just do you know what I mean if I was doing this sort of thing back then 16-17 imagine that imagine the praise you could lavish upon the team week in week out then but instead it's just it's been five years I don't know how long I've been, how many seasons, what season, I can't actually remember how many seasons I've been doing these post-match ones for.
11:16Is this the third season or the fourth season? Either way, it's felt like it's been just years of like, um,
11:27blah, blah, blah, this might be all right, but it probably won't be. I just want to talk about Spurs being good. Sorry if that offends you, you know? sorry if that's going to get me cancelled, but I'd quite like Tottenham Hotspur to be good nowadays. I'm sick of processes. I'm sick of looking at the vision far ahead. I'm impatient. Piggy wants food. Piggy wants feeding now. Give it me. Give it Piggy. Give Piggy good football. And by Piggy, I don't just mean me. I mean you. I mean all of us that's it and I mean piggy in a figurative sense I don't want to start getting myself in trouble and offending people
12:27which this is a rambling mess I know it's a rambling mess but what what is there to talk about from that game it was it was an absolute non-event absolute non-event nothing to talk about nothing whatsoever i know here i am here i am still but absolute non-event let's see what everyone else is saying let's have a look ricochet pig says a nil nil thrashing yep isla lily white been waiting for this with lots of prayer emoji hands thanks as always jack no Thank you. I'll let Lily White says, got to start Randall Colomawani at the weekend, surely. Yeah, why not? Why not? Let's do it. 15:24jask says snooze fest surprised we're still awake i'm surprised i'm still awake to be honest mate like newborn been doing shifts been doing all this sort of stuff with charlotte little care windows and all this type of thing but still you know sleepy sleep's different sleep pattern's different all that type of thing you know i actually stayed awake through that though big of me and here I am now but yeah I agree with you mate I don't know what we're supposed to talk about um Baz O 'Brien says I think I'll come back in February no don't don't I know stay listen no don't don't don't come back in February stay now Baz right don't don't make those numbers go down mate all right just like just put it on in the background just put me on in the background Don't even watch it.
16:19You know? I don't do this because I expect anybody to watch it. I do this just to see some little numbers rise up on the screen. That's all that it is, isn't it? Social media, man. Social media. Stop making stupid people famous, right? What is the value in social media? Or is it just all dopamine hits? Blah, blah, blah. Baz does say congratulations on the baby though. Thank you, mate. I appreciate that. So if you really want to congratulate me, don't come back in February. Stay. Stay now. Let's go on this journey together, Baz. Jack Underhill says, we fully got away with that. Also, I'm very much over the constant horse shooing around the back until Porro spams across or pelts it into kudos, hoping he can do something.
17:12That's not a tactic. Well, if I'm to be a pedant, Jack, it is a tactic. It might just not be one that is very nice, I guess, you know.
17:34Poro had a really weirdly bad game today, I thought. I really like Poirot. I think he's maybe been our best player this season. Definitely one of, maybe the best. Weirdly bad, weirdly bad performance from him tonight. Like proper weirdly bad, I thought. Anyway, I thought.
17:55David T says, Frank seems a bit like AVB Mark II so far, except instead of Gareth Bale, he has Danso's long throws. um yeah that's one way of looking at it mate yeah um agloosh looked decent according to darren i agree i agree james 83 says we're not very good exclamation mark really wanted to hammer that one home and i agree darren i agree i don't like i don't think we're very good the strange thing is though what i would say is like for all my sort of theatrics at the start I don't think we're bad. I actually don't think Spurs are bad. I don't think we're playing badly. We're not playing like that attractively.
18:42We're not playing kind of beautiful football or anything like that. But I don't think we're bad. West Ham are bad, right? And I know you can't always compare yourself to the lowest common denominator and all that type of thing. But equally, it is worthwhile having a bit of a reference point. and West Ham are a bad team. They're bad, they're horrible, they stink for reasons other than just their football. But Spurs right now are not bad. We're not very good though. That's kind of how I feel. That's where I am. Centrist are in it right there, sat on the fence.
19:30NotBrettMay says, Chelsea, Liverpool, superb Spurs with loads of poo emojis. I guess, I don't know. Maybe it's an Arsenal fan or something. Nick Shipley. Oh, here we go. Nick Shipley is his spicy one, says, what is Simons meant to be good at?
19:57It's an interesting one. he's he's one that started i think it was jamie o 'hara started digging him out didn't he the other day um i mean it's a bit rich isn't it right but jimmy i don't know if you've ever seen jamie o 'hara
20:14um he was i don't know i don't know what the program was or anything but i've just seen the clip doing the rounds on twitter before it's always toe curling he's on some like u.s dating show or something it could be like a love is blind or something like that i don't know what it is but it's some u.s dating show and i'm guessing there's a point in the show where the contestants have to like reveal something about themselves and uh jamie o 'hara says to this you know unwitting american lady he says like back home in britain i am a world famous footballer and uh it's it's just yeah it's horrible it's horrible it's very uh you know it's just toe curling toe curling um what is xavi simon's good at well you know he's supposed to be good at being creative isn't he a lock picker a lock picker a exploiting space breaking teams quickly all that type of stuff right there was that moment today where i again the intrusive thought started to take over and I went on to whatsapp to the lads and I had to have a little moan about the uh the moment when we were on the break basically and Simon's got the ball in midfield and then he just stopped and turned backwards and looked to pass it backwards again when you had like Mwani and Kudis like bombing it on past him I didn't like that he wound me up a bit maybe he's low on confidence maybe all these sort of things i don't i actually really like javi siemens but things like that you know that it's not a good sign is it it's not a good sign um there was that moment i don't know if you saw it in the vast and villa game when tell had that break and uh he didn't pass the ball to siemens he was like an acres of space in the middle and Siemens was like fuming you could see he was just like waving his arms about quite unhappy with it but there were a few times there were a few times this evening when he got the ball in quite good up like in quite good positions and he just didn't shoot he sort of would either hold on to the ball or again spread the play out wide and maybe that's what he's been instructed to do but I'd like to see a bit more of that like that just instinctive dangerous player that I kind of felt like we were we were getting when we were first linked with him do you know what I mean um you know
23:09Lee says um Bergvau is a clear example of subconscious pretty privilege in society that's quite funny um I do think he's good stinking performance tonight though real stinking performance and i think this is the point i've made on bergval before and the point i'll make on bergval the point i'll make on odderbear tell all of these lads right i think the main thing is there's so like we'd we'd there's so much chat at the moment about like is odderbear any good is tell any good and it's like if we were building a team properly right if we had had a chairman if we'd had an owner over the past few years that prioritized sporting success that prioritized spurs being really good on the on the field on the field it's very isn't it you know um i was just doing the inglorious bastards three hands on the pitch
24:17we wouldn't be having these conversations about like oddeberg bergwell and all that type of thing what would be the the prism that we'd be viewing them through is how did they do when they got a game in the carabao cup how did they do in those last 10 minutes that they got at the end of a game that we were winning for example what we're constantly doing is having these conversations around like teenagers or players in their early 20s who don't have that much experience who've been thrust into like uh an expectant into they've been they've been thrust into the into the team for an expectant kind of group of fans which i think is fair you know spurs spurs fans pay a lot of money to go and watch their team.
25:06Spurs set the bar quite high. As I was saying on Twitter, you know, the club, they reap the rewards of Spurs becoming a top tier club, if you like. They reap the rewards of the big, big brand partnerships and all that type of stuff. They reap the rewards of being able to charge fans more money. Well, you get to come to this world-class stadium and watch Harry Kane and Son Hyun Min. I think that's more than reasonable. You should have to pay£15 ,000 a season to come and watch them. But the part that the club didn't like, the part that they didn't like was, oh, when we sell all these really good players or they retire, Vertonghen, you know, Eriksen, Dembele, Waniyama, Kane, Son, so on and so forth.
26:01if you actually want to stay like competing at that top level you have to replace them with like other really good players i mean yeah it's not it's not quite working out so far for them but like look at what liverpool have been doing this summer you know sal are still in the team and they're already kind of building buying their new raft of superstars if you like Spurs never did any of that did they what we did is buy buy all the sort of youth players that we should have bought when not exactly man for man because obviously some of these players weren't old enough but the point I'm trying to make is the promising exceptional talents of tomorrow we should have been stacking those players up you know all those transfer windows when we didn't buy players at least stack those talented young promising players up to be understudies for your Mr.
26:54Dembele's and so on and so forth, right? We didn't do that. What we've just done is just be reactive and just waited for all those players to, you know, car kit effectively and now just replace them with a load of 18-year-olds and 20-year-olds and then everyone gets angry and is like, why aren't we challenging for the title? It's not their fault, is it? I think this is the point I've tried to sort of maintain with Telenodder Bear. and I'm not trying to like you know be like a not all heroes wear capes type person on this they might both be useless and I'm not I don't sit here and say that I think Taylor and Odeber are both fantastic I thought Odeber was actually really good tonight I've got to say like as much as I keep talking about I'm talking about him in the wider scale of things but I actually thought he was really good tonight and I am actually often really quite encouraged every time I watch Odderberg play.
27:47But my point as such is that the scrutiny that is poured onto these young players, onto these promising young players, is a direct consequence of Tottenham not building a strong first XI, of Tottenham not effectively recruiting players of a certain level of experience, at least not doing it consistently enough. The priorities are always just so off.
28:18yeah and i just it's going to take some time i don't think i'm i'm still positive about spurs overall um i think in a you know in a couple of seasons we we might be all right we might start kicking on let's see what the the lewis family gonna do let's see how much money they start spending or don't you know let's not forget it's still them eunuch that have been in charge of the club for the past however long you know 22 years or whatever it is now just because levy's gone doesn't necessarily mean that we're going to start you know i look at the thing is like things could change very quickly for spurs right i look at this team and i think i know this sort of stuff is fantasy football football manager fifa ultimate team stuff but two really i know and i mean really like if we if we if we've been a serious team if we go to them with a serious package the players and the clubs and we sell them a proper serious vision adam wharton and anton simenio are two players that spurs could afford a club of spurs with the with the sort of you know the money that we have we could afford those players we could pay their wages and we should be enough of a draw i know they're both very very sought after players but at the same time if we got them and said you're our two like star players we're gonna build the team around you got xavi simmons in there you know a few other sort of good players
29:52then i think we'd be a we'd be a much better outfit instantly instantly if we had those two it'd give everyone a lift and i'd instantly be thinking spurs mean business here spurs are serious and maybe we will do that but i think that's those are the sort of moves we've got to start making what's that Semenya and Wharton or you know it's going to be close to 200 million for those two but why aren't we doing why do we keep telling ourselves we can't do it we can do that we're a rich club of course we can afford to do that and if we do have ambition that's the sort of deals we need to start making you know no more of this like I don't know I don't mind I don't mind signing the promising young players i don't mind that we just we need we need more players of a certain quality now because we are i mean we're unbeaten in the champions league to be fair we you know let's see how we fare against paris saint-germain um but you know we are unbeaten we're doing all right but i do think like i mean we're not doing all right are we really you know that game against Buda Glimp was horrible
31:14I just feel like we look a little bit out of our depth in the Champions League this year you know
31:26I don't know Ando says that was pretty concerning a lot of familiar failings in attack and now we've added defensive frailty to the mix. James83 says undulating. That was it when I was talking about roller coasters earlier. Undulating, nice, nice. Chris Jones says congrats on the ween. Thank you, mate. Samsalinas says our ceiling under Frank is 7th-8th. Maybe. Pyman18 says I keep thinking the same thing about Frank.
32:06deuces wild says felt like we were two three men um we were down two or three men in the whole of the second half painful viewing yeah it did feel like one of those games it just felt one of those games where we could never really like it's so it's so annoying sometimes when you watch football and you watch those games you're like beg your pardon we've not been in this at any point we've never gotten a foothold in this like everything that we're trying to do just feels scrappy and feels rushed and feels panicked why does it feel like there's no plan other than kind of stop them from scoring goals don't know
32:50James83 also says it feels like we've been playing this way for years yeah it does a bit

33:05uh crocodox says we're all looking at frank because we don't want to admit that this team is absolutely mid-table as it stands i'll admit even i've caught myself blaming frank but then i'm thinking who actually gets any good football out of this and that's you know probably fairly true Jask says gotta back the manager it's not great but it's not awful we're not leaking goals and not looking like relegation fodder let him work things out this season and hopefully we're a better team next year and I think that's that I mean that's how I feel mate that's how I you know that's that's where I'm at with it I'm just having a bit of a moan you know just having a bit of a moan that's me prerogative
33:52um
33:59wilson t uh talks about like the stiff double pivot um let's have a look where is it why is he playing such a stiff double pivot oh matron um not giving xavi a confidence booster from the start was bad management.
34:25Julian Big says, that could have been a cricket score. Lucky their shooting boots had their laces untied and Vic was dialed in. I still think Frank will sort it, but our attack is limp at present. Xavi looks lost. Yeah, I don't think that's... Yeah. I think that's pretty fair, julian um thomas jones says huge congrats on the little one properly chuffed for you thank you mate what concerns me most is the lack of goal scorers in our squad yeah somebody uh what's he called brian daggool um who is normally he's normally well he's mostly known for like purple and gold stuff and all that type of i'm not saying this in a you know i'm not saying this in a in a mean way i'm just saying that's kind of uh that's you know that's that's how you might have come across him before but he put out this thing that i made fun of a bit only because he used this ai image that looked funny you know it had that thing where it was generating players faces and it just looked like they'd been created in like a 1999 version of fifa or whatever
35:45but his tweet was essentially Tottenham have lost 86 goal contributions from last season so Son with 23, Madison with 23 Kulisevsky with 20 and Solanke with 20 you know that's not nothing is it it's not nothing so So that's something.
36:17Mega Major Danger says, fair to ask questions of Frank at this point. We shouldn't be this bad with the players out there.
36:29And Alan Leslie says, we are blunt and disjointed, not bad. Does Frank realize we aren't Brentford?
36:41I'm not so sure how we get out of this. Yeah. I agree, Alan. That's it, because I'm saying, I don't actually think we're bad. I just think we're not good. That's the main thing, isn't it?
36:58Simply Ace says, from the Villarreal game, things have fallen apart. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know if they've fallen apart, have they? maybe we'll see he also says the next two windows will show if we changed or not which is yeah I think is is is true
37:22let's do the players because what what let's have a look at some of the other results tonight Chelsea 5-1 Liverpool 5-1 Bayern 4-0 Madrid 1-0 blah blah blah yeah quite good I just don't want to like just don't let Arsenal I'm sort of you know I think we're going to have to I think we have to prepare ourselves you know and talk about Arsenal just for a second we're going to have to prepare ourselves for them to win one of the big ones I think it feels somewhat inevitable right now Premier League I've seen them do a couple of times not going to be pleasant don't get me wrong I'm not I'm not sat here thinking it's going to be a laugh a minute if Arsenal win the Premier League.
38:13But I could take it. I could just about take it. Seeing them win the Champions League would be disgusting. Disgusting. I think we've just got to remember, there's a lot of good teams. There's a lot of good teams still in the Champions League. PSG aren't bums. Bayern aren't. Real Madrid aren't. Man City aren't so you know just don't let them just don't let them do it I'm going to do the players and of course this will mean there's going to be an advert break coming up so for anybody that moans about adverts on pods I'm telling giving you a heads up now that they are going to kick in in a second but also if you don't like adverts you can get every episode of Roll the Roots podcast ad free on Patreon patreon.com slash rtrpod so if you join the supporter tier you get all of the pods that i put out ad free as i've said but if you want to join the inner sanctum tier you'll get extra podcasts you'll have access to some of the evergreen pods that i've already produced and you'll also get the match previews and random bits i do throughout the season on there so patreon.com slash rtr pods support the show appreciate it Let's do the players.

41:06so giuliemo vicario somebody i've been digging out a lot lately magnificent game tonight can't fault him kept us in it we could have lost by several goals were it not for him well done giuliemo i'd still like to replace you but good performance tonight lad pedro porro weirdly poor performance from him tonight i thought like weirdly poor by his standards um didn't feel that anything he was doing was coming off.
41:38Don't know. Just put it down to a bad day in the office. Kevin Danso, I think he stepped into the defence admirably. I think he's a, you know,
41:52he's pretty class, isn't he? Pretty good player.
42:00I like him. I'd like him a lot.
42:05Mickey van der Ven, very good. I usually worry about Mickey van der Ven without Romero, but I thought he was particularly good tonight. I think he used his strength, he used his body really well on a couple of occasions. And I think that's one of the things about van der Ven, maybe it is a learning processor for him. But, you know, he's such a big, tall, strong guy. He often doesn't use that to the best of his advantage. he uses his speed obviously a lot um and that's like the sort of main asset we see from him but i want to see him kind of develop a bit more using his body um more intuitively and everything and i think there were a couple of occasions in the game today where he got himself between the player and the ball without committing a foul without even really needing to tackle if you like commit himself to a tackle just kind of gliding in muscling a player off the ball and carrying it forwards being the start of an attack for us um sometimes i do want to see him be a bit smarter when he's playing um and tonight was a very good example of that um
43:15palina sort of floated between center back and uh sent the midfielder um decent enough performance obviously doesn't pass the ball forwards we know that but decent enough Archie Gray is I think a lovely player I want to see Archie Gray playing alongside Xiao Polinia instead of Bentancur um there was there was especially towards the end of the game there was a really really nice run that Gray pulled off he kind of ended up getting the ball tangled in his own feet and didn't really do anything with it but still the the intent was there and I thought it was quite nice Rodrigo Bentancur I can't bother you know I mean I can't bother to keep doing this one talking about him waste of space for me um Mohamed Kudus tried to do the best he could um we rely on him too much we rely on him in non-inventive ways we just punt the ball to him and hope that he can do something with it he's a magnificent player so he ends up imposing himself on more games than he doesn't but it'd be nice if we could work him into a more cohesive sort of attacking unit whereby all the pressure isn't just on him he He can add his own flair to a great attacking unit as opposed to just being the attacking unit all of himself.
44:50But he's a lovely player, isn't he? Wonderful player. Lucas Bergvau, night to forget in my opinion, but he's still a great player. Wilson Odebert, I thought was decent. I thought it was a decent performance from him tonight. I'm more encouraged every time I watch him play then I feel the need to criticise him, to be honest. I think he's alright, and he's a decent player. Richarlison might as well have not even been on the pitch, so I don't really know what I can say about him. Xavi Simons, quite disappointed when he came on, but I'm sure his confidence and everything is a bit all over the shop at the moment.
45:32Pat Matassar, I thought was good as ever when he came on. got stuck in got involved in pretty much everything don't know what's going on there needs to figure more Brendan Johnson skied the one shot that he was hoping he would be able to get in the back of the net when we had that nice break at the end and he was there hovering on the back post but yeah skied it fluffed his lines whatever I think Frank clearly doesn't really fancy him so we'll see on that one Randall Colomani actually alright when he came on let's see a bit more of him maybe see him on the weekend that would be quite nice wouldn't it Jed Spence decent enough when he came on didn't do a lot really but was alright I appreciate that's not the most in depth kind of player analysis there but I sort of tell you back to the start and what was there really to talk about there um not an awful lot but still as i say positives where i'm beaten in the champions league uh yeah there you go thank you everybody for tuning in thank you for watching thank you for listening please drop ratings reviews share the podcast all that type of thing I will be recording a podcast tomorrow with the one and only Dan Lowe when I say tomorrow I'm obviously recording this on Wednesday evening so take from this Thursday if you have any questions that you would like me to ask Dan Lowe tweet him at me send me a dm on instagram blue sky as well or comment it on youtube too comment it on spotify send me some questions to dan low tottenham royalty real legend really looking forward to talking to him a very funny man um who no doubt will have been out in Monaco.
47:49So that'll be good to talk to. But yeah, other than that, much love. Thank you very much. Appreciate you. Bye. Up the Spurs.

Tottenham played out a goalless draw in Monaco in a largely forgettable match - more likely remembered for Thomas Frank's somewhat baffling team selection to start the match.
