In short
Reaction to Brentford 0-0 Tottenham (Premier League), branded “BEYOND BORING.” The host argues Spurs showed “lack of ambition,” producing joyless, passive football and failing to create invention, despite missing attacking players. They also discuss VAR and a disputed Archie Gray incident, plus broader manager/club concerns about Thomas Frank’s future.
Guest backgrounds
No guests are interviewed in the transcript. The host references other people only as commenters/mentions (e.g., “Phil,” “Max Trivers,” “Paul O’Keefe,” “Charlie,” “Owen Littler” as a darts subject), not as studio guests.
Key claims
Spurs should be more than mid-table; Frank “has to go” (many fans agree); Brentford are stable and well-organized under Keith Andrews; VAR’s Archie Gray foul was a penalty on review; Spurs’ tactics and player selection (Wilson Odobert, Mathys Tell, midfield choices, Archie Gray role) are ineffective; Marco Silva is floated as a potential replacement.
Notable examples
Brentford fans/away end chanting “Boring, boring Tottenham”; Spurs’ 0-0 streak stat (first goalless draw in 137 league games); VAR check for a foul on Archie Gray; mention of Romero’s rashness and time-wasting (Vicario booked).

1:24What do you want me to say then? What am I supposed to say about that? Honestly, I sat watching that thinking, I nearly didn't even do this tonight. What am I supposed to say?
1:52I think if you are somebody that's prone to leaving me a comment or something that says this was too negative honestly just don't bother listening to this one because there's not going to be anything there's not going to be anything positive in this one I'm just I'm saying that upfront so if you don't want to listen to me kind of complain for you know half an hour or so maybe then just don't save yourself self save yourself the effort save me the negative review and crack on because that honest to god honest honestly i think in my many years of watching football I would have to say that is one of the worst top flight Premier League games I've ever ever watched ever seen I watched the game on my laptop I streamed it on a laptop I had the darts on the TV because honestly, when the Spurs game came up, I was like, I don't even want to watch it.
3:08I don't feel like I want to watch it. I don't want to miss out on the darts because it's at such a good point in the tournament. There's going to be a really, you know, it's going to be Van Veyn and Luke Humphries going to be really good. Don't want to miss that. I feel vindicated in my decision to at least deprioritise football from the big screen, have it on the laptop there because it's just appalling. It's just like energy-sapping misery watching that, watching Spurs, watching that lack of ambition.
3:57It's just nothing there, is it, man? Like, I know I've sort of been on the fence about it and stuff, but I think he's, I just think he's got to go. I know there's reasons. I know there's injuries. I get it. There are. There's a number of key attacking players missing. But that lack of ambition is just so appalling. Ben Tanker and Polina away at Brentford I mean we thought his Ben Tanker and Polina days were behind him but evidently not
4:46man this is just like I said I did a tweet about it and I mean this like sincerely it's not just some sort of pithy well that'll go down well thought like I often do where there's so many times I stop myself now when I'm watching Spurs I'm watching games like this evening and I just sort of stop myself in my tracks and I think to myself isn't this supposed to be fun? isn't this like a distraction from like the day-to-day drudgery of existence i mean i have a nice life i'm not you know i'm not sure i'll be too nihilistic about it or anything that's you know i'm just being dramatic dramatic effect right what i'm talking about is bills work worrying about this worrying about that you know football's supposed to be a big distraction from all that and that doesn't mean doesn't mean your team have to be great but there's got to be something that's at least entertaining about it isn't there and I just don't get it I don't get what we're doing here
6:05you know he's had another he's had another press conference in the week hasn't he where he's made that kind of weird comment about, what is it, walking out? Was he walking in Richmond Park or something? I don't know. He saw a Spurs fan and the Spurs fan stopped him and said, keep doing what you're doing. You're doing a great job. We're all behind you. And he was kind of like, you know, that was nice. And I know there's negative people, but maybe it's just easy to be negative behind a keyboard and not to my face.
6:42And people did take that quite badly. Like, you know, and I do think we're, if I'm being brutally honest about it, I do think we probably microanalyze these sort of things, press conferences and stuff to a degree that perhaps isn't overly healthy. Back in the day, right, when we used to get the sort of lines, if you wanted to read anything about what the manager was saying before a match, you know from a press conference you'd read whoever's pre-match preview in the newspaper or whatever and you get a few throwaway lines in there and it'd be fine I think kind of like the razor sharp focus on every single words the way it's poured over out of press conferences probably isn't that healthy probably isn't that conducive to enjoying football when you are in a bit of a rut like we are right now but it is what it is I think Thomas Frank needs to get better at them um I sort of took it I'll be honest I sort of took his point as quite a human one um it felt like a guy who if I'm reading into it like I just said we shouldn't be doing but here we are if I'm reading into it who seems quite beaten seems quite defeated and is almost like using this anecdote of a fan having a nice encounter with him as a way to sort of pat himself on the back or cheer himself up see they don't all hate me maybe it's only a you know a loud minority on the internet or whatever I don't think it is I don't I don't speak to many Spurs fans and I would say I've got, you know, I speak to Spurs fans across the spectrum of being above it all and being massively wobble-headed.
8:41And I think the majority of them all think he should go, that the job is beyond him.
8:50I mean, it's tough watching that. is tough to give them their dues Brentford are on the right side you know what you're going to get from Brentford a well organised decent hard working team Keith Andrews isn't it he sort of picked up where Frank left off and he's doing a decent job with them you know he's managed to get them pretty stable after losing a couple of key players, losing a manager, a whole coaching team really in the summer.
9:36But I would like to think that Spurs can
9:41cause a Brentford team like that regardless of what I've just said there. A few more problems and not just be as meek as passive as they were for the majority of the game. And this is kind of constant now, isn't it? This is most games. This is most games for Spurs. This constant passive style of football. I don't think it's helped by...
10:20I don't know if he's frustrated. I don't know if he's tired, if he's carrying a knock or something. I think Romero, if I'm being brutally honest, captain has been playing silly buggers the past few games. I think he was, I thought Romero was quite poor tonight. I thought he just
10:49I just thought his decision making wasn't always very good I thought he was probably quite rash was rash in the previous game that he played and got himself sent off I think he gets frustrated I think he can't really handle that and we know that about him we know there's a brilliance to him but there's also a frustrating side to him that we we we do see fairly often especially when spurs are in these moments if you like don't think he was very good um i do think wilson odderbear is a really good player and i'm nicking my pal charlie's point here but you know wilson odderbear perhaps isn't the guy that should be starting games.
11:40And I know we've got personnel issues and things like that, but Wilson Odebeer seems to still be kind of at his best when he's coming on to a game, injecting a bit of his threat later on, playing against tired legs. I thought he was pretty ineffective tonight. I don't know what Mathis Tell has done. I sort of made the joke last week, didn't I? But I don't know what Mathis Tell has done. He got a few minutes this afternoon. There's some talk going around today that he's out on a loan this January, which isn't this a play we've just spent 30 something million on? What are we doing? You know, honestly, what are we doing?
12:25I don't get it. Pelini and Ben Tanko in the midfield again. What are we doing? Archie Gray playing as a sort of advanced role what are we doing I just don't get any of it anymore I don't understand it I don't understand what we're trying to and I know we can say what we are trying to do is get the ball to Kudis and hope he can do something with it but even then what are we hoping he can do with it there's that there's absolutely no invention to our play whatsoever
13:08and the thing is we're talking about people who are paid like Thomas Frank is paid millions of pounds a year like millions of pounds a year and I know the sort of the popular you know byline to all this is what the fans know fans don't understand how difficult it is blah blah blah blah blah but right fine if we want to take it down that route but you know the important thing is that fans are entertained and fans also watch a lot of football and have done for a long time and know when their team is playing well and when their team isn't and we are not playing well there is absolutely nothing to what we are turning out week in week out which suggests we are building towards anything and that is really alarming that is really alarming that you could be paid as i say millions of pounds millions of pounds.
14:14His salary is millions of pounds. Millions of pounds. Can I say that again? Millions of pounds. It's probably not. Someone's probably going to say, he's actually paid 700 grand a year. Even if he is, it's a lot of money. Just shut up.
14:39What's going on?
14:45it is not good. It is not good. That tonight was poor. We've got players missing, right? The squad's been built poorly, right? Yep, check, check, fine. Take these things on board. Regardless of that, this team should not be playing that badly. They just should not be playing that badly. I just refuse to believe that that is something we can just excuse. Paul O 'Keefe dropped one of his mid-thread bombers today, which was that Marco Silva is in the frame. If something does happen with Frank before the end of the season, Marco Silva is a name that we very much like
15:45it's not very inspiring is it I mean like yeah cool right we might have five games where we feel like things are a bit better but you know but then I sort of hark back to the conversation I had with Phil on Monday sorry days are all a bit blurred at the moment, aren't they? You know what it's like at this time of year. And we were just sort of talking about the fact that Spurs might be the sort of club that has managers like Marco Silva for a bit. Maybe we need to, as fans, reassess where we are as a club, what our stature is, what our standing is, those sort of things. Does that mean the club are going to charge us any less to go and watch the team?
16:34No, it doesn't, does it? so why should fans why should fans realign their expectations really it all comes down to money doesn't it all comes down to money

18:50you cannot like if we're talking about like relative pricing you cannot charge somebody for a bentley and give them a voxel nova can you
19:06and expect them just to be happy about it you like voxel as a brand you said you are voxel shout a bit loyalty it's not the cleanest comparison. But people get tribal about, people get tribal about, like, you know, brands. You should see what people are like talking about Android and bloody Apple. It's all the same. You use it, you take pictures, you go on Twitter, you go on WhatsApp or whatever. It's the same thing. No, it's not actually. Do one. Isn't there more important things to argue about? that's what they're saying about us that's what those types that's what the phone types say about football fans
19:56you can see people go on Reddit you see people arguing about anything you go down those forums of Star Trek fans against Star Wars or Doctor Who fans do you know what I mean it's mad
20:16what's going on man I'll tell you one one one minor sort of point from the game just reflecting on the match there because there really wasn't an awful lot to talk about from the game the Archie Gray challenge foul that went to VAR challenge on Archie Gray that you know was a VAR penalty check for us during the flow of a game like the players coming together in that way is a 50-50. I wasn't sat there sort of spittle flying at the TV thinking, penalty, penalty, come on, give that. But when it's gone to VAR and you're watching it back in slow motion, whatever motion you want to watch it in, it's a foul on grey.
20:58So why is that not, again, I'm just sort of back at this point of like, what are we doing with VAR? What's the point of VAR? It's a penalty. If you've checked it and you've made a point of saying on the screen that's been checked. It's a penalty. It's soft. Don't get me wrong. I'm saying like in the flow of the game, when I was watching it, I was like, that's 50-50. You see those given, you see those not given. I'm not really going to lose any sleep if we don't get it. You know, the referee just blows play on and we waves play on and we carry on with the match. But the fact that it, like I say, the fact that it got checked and we looked at it, it was a foul.
21:33It's just pure and simple, like soft, whatever, but it was a foul. It was a foul on Gray in the box. It's a penalty. you know fine whatever that's one one minor sort of grievance about the game but didn't deserve to win it anyway so is what it is i mean i don't really care like i'll take it but i'm just i'm simply saying like didn't deserve to win it didn't deserve anything from that it's you know um let's see what some Some people are saying it's like, Echo Sonic Music says, Stel Morrison says, you know things are bad when Brentford fans, bloody Brentford, are singing Boring, Boring Tottenham.
22:18Happy New Year, Jack. Big love. Big love to you as well, mate. Apparently, I'm just saying, apparently it was actually the away and the Spurs fans singing Boring, Boring Tottenham. That's what Ali Gold tweeted during the game and said that the away fans were then also chanting for martin yole um chanted about like lidley king eric dyer all the all the old guard
22:53um owen lawrence says who do you think is the most likely to beat littler gotta be jean van veen for me um i mean he's obscene he absolutely dominated humphries tonight he was really really good i i am loving ryan salvo i'm dead i'm desperate for him to beat luke littler in the semi and to just go all the way i absolutely love him i think he's quality um as i said like you know just socially awkward kind of aggie warhammer dude energy um Phil said to me like the type of guy the type of guy that works in a guitar shop and just gets pissed off by your presence when you're in there sort of asking him questions about what the pick up's like on this he just looks at you don't you know I love him um and he was absolutely brilliant today it's you know I'm really I'm really enjoying the darts overall I think it's really good talk and there's so many good narratives um hood against anderson today was great two great narratives going into that anderson just seems like such a lovely bloke really really good guy um so i wouldn't be against him doing it it's just it's it's great it's the greatest sport really is deuces well but littler's gonna walk it i think really being being brutally honest Owen Littler walks it he's just he's obscene isn't he you know he's just he had his sort of tantrum the other night didn't he when he had his he's 18 years old right he's 18 years old and he's been the pretty much the best in the world at what he does since he was 16 which you know and he's a millionaire try and try and sort of stay humble under those circumstances before we sort of cast aspersions at him but I did think it was quite weird energy from him the other night I don't really like it when people start doing the whole my money your money stuff and they're kind of coming from a position of you know extreme wealth or whatever it's just a bit weird it's a bit unsightly i don't really like it i'm not i'm not really making a massive moral judgment over him i'm sort of just saying i i find it quite unpalatable i don't really like that in people um but i do like luke litlu you know he's brilliant he's he's he's wonderful he's great at what he does um and he's just he's just the best isn't he by a considerable distance and he tonight he he's like i was saying sort of spurred on from the other night he was in his sort of evil luke mode where he just absolutely beasted the uh the old boy that he was playing against with the status quo walk on music um deuces wild back to football deuces wild says this is joyless soul destroying football it's hard to differentiate between frank's tactics and players trying to get a manager sacked.
25:53Zeros and ones said, I was more concerned about the City game. Yeah, this wasn't a good night, was it, overall?
26:05Max Trivers says, Hi, mate. Can you please do the Peter Charrington butcher impression? Cheers. Is that Peter Charrington? The Northern lad? Okay, no. That weren't very good tonight, wasn't it, Thomas? I think that was it I can't remember maybe a bit more like Fred Elliot Kugo says Thomas Frank is being paid 8 million pounds a year to deliver this kind of is that genuinely 8 million pounds Jack Underhill says genuinely what was that
26:47XcasualFPL says wake me up when September and a new manager season comes
26:59Stagaz says the most turgid game I've seen this century JakeM95 says woeful DJ Tucker says that was boring what was your favourite to trunk impression you used to do?
27:21I don't know. It's a good question. I do think the Daniel Levy one seems to go down the best. I think people quite like that because he does actually sound like that. I'd seen him in an interview like years and years ago when he first sort of came to Spurs. so I did sort of loosely base it on like a voice it's a voice for Daniel Levy and also for like an old mate of mine um hello Jay if you're watching who uh we just used to do that making fun of him um so the two sort of came came together and uh I quite like the wave of when when stuff like YouTube really kicked in and Levy did a few more interviews and stuff when people would message me being like, he actually does sound like that, doesn't he?

28:10So that was quite funny. That was quite good. I always thought, do you know, I'll tell you one thing that really irritates me when I look back on it. I always feel like my Harry Redknapp impression was crap. I just couldn't do it. I just did like a generic kind of, geez, I did like Harry Redknapp like that. I was all like, Harry Redknapp, hello there, all right. No wonder he's in the reserves. But I was like, it doesn't actually sound like harry redknapp at all um yeah no he's a bit more like i pitched in the harry redneck a bit more like that but yeah there you go
28:52fridges on fire says how much longer do you think it'll be before the players have checked out have they not already honestly are they not already i think they have James Nicholson hello mate how are you getting on says I haven't watched Spurs for about six to eight weeks now I basically decided that it was making me unhappy watching them play under Frank even if this football could be successful it doesn't bring me any joy and that's absolutely fair enough mate hope you're doing well happy new year era 7000 says such a nothing game waste of life watching that um yeah that's certainly one way to put it uh in other news happy new year to you all there we go delfo chronics uh stegas also says it was us singing boring boring tottenham um that was to stile morrison's point earlier on delfo chronic says i can't take much more of this i'm hate watching us and hating myself for continuing to do it like some smelly crackhead hacker cps says there is something called planned obsolescence in engineering yeah people's to people's that's like the conspiracy theory isn't it about like apple phones and all that type of stuff it'll stop working after two and a half years which you know most branded stuff stops working after a certain amount of time doesn't it um But still, anyway.
30:28Planned obsolescence in engineering, which plans parts failure to create optimal profit. Think foreign cheaply made parts that fail early. Very Tottenham.
30:44Jewsnuts says, boy, wasn't that exciting. To dare is too risky, says has to go. GZero says, the time wasting was a complete joke. why are we playing for a draw against Brentford? Frank has to go. Hacker CPS also says we need the Spurs fan who talked to Frank to answer some questions. Tadare is too risky also says I predicted a 1-1 draw guess I was too optimistic. Echisonic Music a game with no redeeming features whatsoever. James Forster says Vicario booked for time wasting at 0-0 against Brentford sums us up. Such a dull and uninspiring manager. This is the thing, isn't it? Like, and this is what football does.
31:37I actually think he seems like quite a nice man, really. I think he seems like a fairly nice bloke. But watching this type of football and watching his press conferences and stuff, it just makes me hate him. Makes me hate him. Makes me hate the club. hate's a strong word, but you know what I'm saying. And I see other people being like, get this out my club, you know? This boring, get him out.
32:14JKM95 says, we are in genuine danger of becoming a mid-table side for the next decade. Yeah.
32:24I mean let's see let's see what we do in let's see what we do in January it is January
32:35but it's going to take it's going to take big money isn't it and it's also going to take people with something of a clue and I don't really trust the club I don't really don't really trust Langer don't really think he's is he doing a good job you tell me I don't really feel like it looks like he is um
32:59don't know man
33:06Robert Glenworth says Thomas Frank team versus Thomas Frank team equals worst game of association football played in the history of association football Jews Nuts says even beer is not numbing this painful watch. Stoof says, to not take a risk is a risk. Thomas Frank's own words, isn't it? How the turntables have turned. Brian Park, nowadays I need to plan ahead and find something enjoyable to do after watching Spurs. Absolutely draining watching this every week.
33:46jake m said the most worrying part of the press presser pressure presser was him saying that we'll have at least 10 poor games and maybe win three or four of them andy perry hello mate happy new year jack we have reached frank's ceiling look at how both clubs he has touched play the most inept football i've ever seen he hasn't stepped up to our level and is dragging us down to his. Yeah, I feel that. And Phil was talking about this the other day, just how a lot of his, a lot of like Frank's kind of lines are negging spurs. You know, a lot of it's kind of always going on about, well, I finished 17th last year and this sort of thing.
34:33You know, it's this way of like self, you know, it's a certain amount of self-preservation, isn't it? there's a certain amount of expectation setting, which as you say there, Andy, is more on his terms as opposed to the club that he supposedly stepped up to elevate to another place. I don't know. Benedict Fox says, I get that a point away with injuries is job done, but this is worse than that. This is building towards nothing and feels actively detrimental to the club, players and fans now. I'm coming round to that way of thinking, mate. I really am.
35:21James Forster says the standards at this football club have dropped so much. They seem content to with avoiding relegation as much as long as the board fill up the stadium. Schedule with flash offence. Get El Jefe home ASAP, please do. did you see the uh the graphic that the tottenham hotspur stadium team put out just being like you know another wonderful year at the stadium and there was there was not a single mention of football there which you know it's not good like you know people got very wound up about it but it isn't good and it's very easy to take a step back and be like as if you're getting annoyed about that but i think that completely ignores that this is just one of many drips on the head from the water torture that tottenham hotspur are you know putting us under and you know it just kind of speaks to the way things are handled, should we say, backstage.
36:36It's, I don't know.
36:40I do think, I think last year, I do think last year losing was unacceptably normalized at the club. And I think that, my biggest theory is I think that like losing got so normalized last year that it broke something quite fundamental within the psyche of a lot of these players that are still here and you know we have had a few outs we have had a few ins um but I do think it affected something quite fundamentally around the psyche of the squad maybe the club in general and frank is probably the worst appointment seemingly to follow that because he is quite happy to run with that to say well look at look at the games that were lost last year look at where we finished in the league last year what am i supposed to do what am what am i supposed to do with this lot really he's arrived there already and it's all just too convenient for him you know I think any manager that's worth anything would be saying the league form wasn't great but we want a trophy that shows that we're capable of doing great things here let's build on that we want a big future here we want to put the league form behind us last year see it as a blip and blah blah blah but he he's even capable of doing that but he doesn't want to do that.
38:20Like most of you are saying here, I don't want to sit here and watch this all season.
38:27Phil Mayo says, Brentford Hotspur FC. Cameron Arthur says, game's so boring. Me and my dad played a game of chess in the second half. I won. Tidy. I am useless at chess. really really bad I'm awful at it and it really annoys me I wish I was good I try you know I play every now and again Charlotte's very good beats me all
38:58yeah
39:03JM112 says that game was so boring me and my mates were reminiscing about Musa Sissoko Kugo also says they booed the F out of him at the away end today they did I saw that when he went over to clap them at the end big big boo again on a human level I feel bad for him but it's not really anything personal is it it's business that's the thing palindrome pilot pirate says we need some creativity in the midfield badly James Pruden says I wasn't really bothered if Brentford scored in the second half Isle of Lily White says Happy New Year Jack happy new year to you boy oh boy is this what our beloved Tottenham Hotspur have become not even trying to win away at Brentford not trying to be wobble-headed but I'd be pleased to see him sack now to be honest I'm with you mate I'm with you I wouldn't, I think a few weeks ago, as I said on here, as much as I kind of could understand people for wanting him to go already, I wasn't quite there.
40:10I sort of thought it would be bad. I don't think it's good for the club to get into these cycles of sacking managers at the first sign of trouble or that type of thing. I'm pretty much with this sense now that he probably has to go because as much as it can be toxic getting into this cycle of sacking managers and bringing somebody else in at the drop of a hat. I think it's also really bad to get into a cycle of just being this poor, being this awful, having this little ambition, this little scope for intent or, you know. this far

41:28Are you happy with your job? The fact is, a huge number of people can't say yes to that. Too many of us are stuck in a job we've outgrown or one we never really wanted in the first place. But we stick it out and we give reasons like, what if the next move is worse? and I've put years into this place and maybe the most common one. Isn't everyone miserable at work? But there's a difference between reasons for staying and excuses for not leaving. It's time to get unstuck. It's time for strawberry.me. All the ingredients showed up pre-chopped, and he just laid it out on a baking sheet and no cap. Dinner was on the table in like 25 minutes. apparently it's chef designed and it has like over 40 grams of protein that's a lot right so maybe we try it just saying you can be the next dylan's dad blue apron get 50 off your first two orders plus free shipping with code stir 50 terms and conditions apply visit blue apron.com slash terms for more i love lily what it also says um your take that van der ven doesn't look like he's having him is aging like fine wine it's so obvious they aren't bothered about him yeah i i you know there's a few you know he stormed he's pretty big man for a player to storm off the pitch and ignore his manager um there's two of them doing it him getting the instructions just how unimpressed he looked with all that you know is there anything today that i've missed is there anything in particular that's made you say that i'll be interested to hear it if um you see this Coise Castle says two things can be true one our players make up a mid-table squad two Thomas Frank is not capable of being a top four manager both are a problem yeah that that's probably fair um I do feel like once all of our players are back from injury and whatnot we should be more than a mid-table team that's just kind of my gut feel on it but yeah you know right now we're not
44:00Robert Glentworth says I look forward to showing my seven year old the highlights tomorrow if he has a spare four seconds I mean this is what I mean imagine what a hospital pass that is if you're sat trying to edit the highlights out of that what a nothing game Deborah Longmere says the football is absolute dross I just can't watch it anymore what an absolute mess once again it's just exhausting bang on just that exasperation isn't it this this is this is a sort of the the the point i was making on the pod the other day is like how are we here how how are we here again like even if even if frank is not pulling up trees even if frank is not amazing i'm staggered by like quite how poor it is though like by actually quite how badly he's doing i thought he would at least be okay you know this is this is so bad neil g 78 says sad times when i can't even bring myself to watch spurs anymore i just wait for the fans reactions to see how bad we were
45:18Phil Mayo, Archie Gray is a second striker for half an hour while Tell and Randall Calamawani sat on a bench is not something you would see from a competent manager no Bad Nasher says millions, millions, millions of pounds Waylex says today was a sad day for football Ronnie Sy says they just kicked the ball anyway can't pass to each other. Wilson T says, fair play, Jacko, would have binned this off for a good old film. It's tempting, mate. It's tempting. I actually watched Cinema Paradiso earlier. Beautiful film. Really, really nice. I can't help but admit that I felt certain feelings relevant to Tottenham Hotspur as I was watching it.
46:11if you've not seen the film go watch it it's all about nostalgia how nostalgia ages stepping back like if you step back in time into a into the sort of warm embrace of nostalgia how does it actually serve you in the present day blah blah blah blah blah there's lots of themes all around that
46:38can you imagine just stepping away from spurs could you do it could you leave him behind it's a bit different it's a bit different than leaving a physical place and leaving physical people isn't it you can't physically step away from spurs as such unless you live near the ground i suppose
47:08shall I find if there's any more the comments have just refreshed
47:23Matt Beck says both teams set up not to lose I miss proper football shocking watch tonight Anthony Lynch, Frank out MJBTHFC 1991 have we passed the ball this badly ever? no I don't think so mate Thomas Mullin, been saying for three years worst Spurs side I've ever seen we are where we deserve to be 12th and getting worse it's I don't think it's the worst Spurs side I've seen but it's down there with them um and maybe i don't know how old you are maybe i'm a bit a bit bit older than you we're not very good in the noughties 90s late 90s anyway we're sort of on a par with that i reckon i genuinely i genuinely reckon we're like on a par with that i think this is as bad as we've been in the premier league era let's say that bad nasher says give me deservey no thanks not for me not a fan, don't like him Thomas Muller Norsa says my Vauxhall Astra is better than Solanke, Madison Johnson, Davis, Dragasin, Richarlison Spence, all these players
48:42Bob Rudge says I know we know this is bad but only in hindsight, when we're back playing football with good players we will fully appreciate what an idea this is i mean i really hope we are about playing good football with good players mate i really do james regal comedy starting to think that the only way to manage us is to understand that tottenham hotspur isn't really a football club in the traditional sense tottenham hotspur is an abstract concept it's a vibe i mean
49:19you are basically onto something there mate and that is really what pochettino tapped into um lightning in a bottle and all that can we get it back i don't care i just want the joy i want to go there and belt his magic you know out at the top of my lungs you know when a massive argentina flag with him standing in the middle of it back in the stadium let's just have it back let's just do it just do it I want to do Marco Silva and any of these other losers what we're doing is we you know if we get Marco Silva and I'm going to be sat here again in two three months time saying what are we doing why do we keep making these same decisions like we all know that's where it's going to go you know yes I'm doing my moany voice I'm doing my whiny voice but we all know that's exactly where it's going to go isn't it marco silver come on maricio pochettino getting back murray says to dare us to draw um bad nasha says frank is earning 4.5 million pounds a year so it's millions of pounds murray says more backwards passes than a game of rugby Bilagi says grim viewing that game how do you think Seth Ruckham would give a half-time team talk?
50:42I think he just laughed.
50:50Ibarra says that was crap. More of the same for the rest of the season if you give this guy 200 million pounds to spend.
51:04Peter Turner says taking up knitting Jack I need to raise the bar with my entertainment levels pretty good it's probably very good for your mental health isn't it um it's named the diver Tom Tom Daly isn't it says knitting's very good for his mental health he sort of he does like a great British bake-off but for knitting now as well so you know
51:28Terry Margulis says I'm old enough to have seen as relegated footy was miles better I still I find it so I genuinely find it so wild that Spurs have been relegated I mean it's quite mental to me that Manchester United got relegated as well similar time wasn't it around the same sort of time but yeah I just find it mad that we got relegated but I always hear from like a lot of the older guard that the year in sort of the division two as it was at the time was a real laugh really good fun um yeah
52:08and unless he says happy new year had more fun tonight when the cat dragged his ass over my living room rug
52:21listen Grove says I think Thomas Frank is auditioning for a part in the Uber Eats advert but the truth is Big Sam, Pardew and Pulis all played better football than us
52:38Tims Warren says it's difficult for me to watch Spurs live here in the US, watched live today and that's the game we got gross yeah yeah that's bad mate yeah you have to go to like unless you're sort of streaming at home if you want to watch with some atmosphere yeah i know you guys often have to travel quite a long distance america's big um i hear sort of tales of people having pilgrimages like two and a bit three hour drives to get to the bar where everyone is to watch us and that is yeah i mean that is disgusting gross as you say disgusting
53:21Tom Panovich says imagine paying money to watch that I mean good on them good on the people that do but you know
53:32Kapoti says recently somebody said Spurs are Southern Man United now I'm thinking we're turning into Everton Marco Silva here we come I mean we are very Everton we are very Everton Trevor Juro says we are a crap when he says it in caps we are a crap team
53:56James Glanville says when do we regret the deal we made with the devil to win the Europa we will never experience happiness again just bring Potch back for the vibes let's do it man Vegan Bean says Happy New Year from Oz Jack I'm ashamed to say I'm checking out not completely just keeping spurs at arm's length for now for self-preservation you're not the only one saying that mate you're not the only one saying that there's a few people saying that and it's you know it's supposed to be fun at the end of the day mate it's supposed to be fun and if it's you know when the fun stops stop as uh I mean that's for gambling but I probably shouldn't re-appropriate it for this should I it's probably problematic on a certain level I reckon it's just a pithy throwaway thing come on give me a break all right coys mccoy's face says happy new year jack happy new year to you not much to say from me about that game i'm slowly checking out but i do love these pods thank you all the best for the year ahead and to you thank you very much ali um zeros and one says would we take mareska mareska is a really funny one is it's really weird this the whole Chelsea thing but I feel like he has a certain level of plausible deniability because Chelsea is such a mess but I couldn't actually say to you whether or not I think he's an actually good manager um it sounds like he might he might be getting the city job um if Pep does make good on his promise and leave at the end of the year which he might be um there's a lot of I was going down some sort of chelsea rabbit holes today and a few of them were all talking about the fact that he's he's engineered this on purpose so city don't have to pay a release clause to chelsea and all that sort of thing like it would like they have infinite money it wouldn't bother them to do that but still right cut down on the paperwork and all that sort of thing it's probably a bit far-fetched football fans far-fetched um but would i want mareska at spurs gut feeling no that's that's what i'd say um coys mccoy's face says also smash that like button yeah go on mate thank you thank you i need a hype man every now and again so i do i appreciate that yeah if you are if anyone is watching this please uh drop it a like i really appreciate that um subscribe and all that type of stuff as well if you listen to this if you listen to the audio version please leave a rating leave a review add free podcasts on patreon patreon.com slash rtr pods evergreen pods on there as well and sort of other stuff agency panic says the standard of football is muck most of this team can't even pass the football five yards gray had a shocker couldn't even control the ball bread and butter stuff crap is being kind um yeah

58:01Andy Perry says do you think losing the away fans is the beginning of the end for Frank I mean historically that has always been the beginning of an end for a manager every single noise we hear out of Spurs is that Vinay Venkateshan wants to give him time he's the man that gave Mikel Arteta time and look what happened there but that ignores any sort of sense that Mikel Arteta loath as I am to say it might just be really good you know what is it it's the sunk cost fallacy isn't it where you know if you give enough time and money and stuff to something energy to something that it's going to come good not necessarily true
58:50Stevie says we'd love to know what happens during training there's no fluidity in passing or movement touches too big it's I mean it's just disgusting isn't it um James Reed that was a team trying to accumulate enough points not to be relegated head on Mars get him out the door yeah that's a good way of looking at it mate and it does kind of feel that way doesn't it let's get our 40 points and then maybe try and build on that it's just tedious isn't it
59:20matter jack says i take christian gross tomorrow brendan mcgurty says happy new year from brazil jack hello mate obrigado um to to bane well done in picking that ball fest apart crazy it's our first nil nil in 137 league game. Is it? Apparently that's our first 0-0 in 137 league games. That is crazy if true. Crazy if true.
1:00:00I mean, this is very true. Pete Turner says, did it dawn on Frank that the Arsenal fan in the park could be an Arsenal fan?
1:00:10probably is.
1:00:16You're probably going to see, sorry, I know drinking on the microphone is disgusting. I'm sorry.
1:00:25I didn't think, I apologize. I always get, I get complaints when I do that and I don't like it either. Miss phone it. Like it's, it's disgusting. I'm, I am sorry. Um,
1:00:39you wouldn't it wouldn't surprise you would it if it became clear somehow through a tweet or whatever that it literally was an arsenal fan that said to frank pretended to be a spurs fan and said you know keep doing what you're doing we love you it's very we want you to stay isn't it you
1:01:04know benedict fogg says there are bad people in this world and i hate bad people thomas frank is a good guy but i dislike him as if he was a truly bad guy yeah yeah um alex paramour says frank just said that was a robust performance solid defensively and spoke about layers again.
1:01:30Gavin says, how embarrassing is it that our defenders have to take the goal kicks because our keeper is so bad with the ball at his feet?
1:01:41Phil Mayo says, yeah, it's clear from Frank's comments that he sees nothing wrong. He's totally at sea.
1:01:49Aaron Deb says, I would leave Spurs, but I don't know where to go. I love the lads and my heart is breaking at how poor they have been. Yeah. Oh dear. Ian Sinfield says, Happy New Year to you and yours, Jack, and to you, mate. The football will see Frank off. The fans will see Frank off. Turgid football. Yeah. Brendan McGurk says, Tottenham went 137 Premier League games without a goalless draw before this evening. the last 0-0 draw involving Spurs in the league was in 2022 with Thomas Franks Brentford wow there we go the snake the snake has eaten its own tail what a place to leave that one um thank you for bearing with me those who have like I said I did give you the disclaimer at the top if you don't like the sort of negative moany pods you should have not listened so don't leave me any comments about moaning on this one because what am I supposed to talk about after that really you know happy new year though to everybody um I hope you enjoyed the quiz if you have had a chance to listen to it please do please do check it out quiz master Tom Foynes works very hard on these and they are brilliant they're really good fun they're very easy to play along with at home um scream the answers at me you know the general ineptitude on display from everyone really in reality.
