0:56Um, yeah. Do you know what? I'm going to be honest. I'm going to be honest up front. I'm actually quite rattled. and I know, I know, I shouldn't be probably. I know that Manchester United have turned a corner under Michael Carrick, blah, blah, blah, all that sort of stuff. Thomas Frank's useless, I know. But I actually thought we were going to do them. I really did. I really thought we were going to beat them. And I've got to say, I've got to say, I'm still not having them. I don't think they're that good. But they had our number today, didn't they? And I am annoyed about it. Let's dive straight in on Christian Romero.
1:42Look, I'm of the persuasion that I don't think it was a red. I don't think it was a red. I don't even think it was that rash. I know people are talking about it being rash and stuff. But for me, he's going to kick the ball. He's trying to clear the ball. He's not gone for the man. He's not gone over the ball. His studs aren't high. You know, I... It's, you know, he's giving the referee a decision to make, obviously. Even though I think it's happened in a split second. He's trying to clear the ball. And I think if his name isn't Christian Romero, if we hadn't had an entire week of the press going on and on and on and on about Christian Romero, he probably wouldn't have been sent off.
2:39But that's how I feel about it. That's how I feel about it. And we can dive into, should he have said stuff on his Instagram? Does he create more kind of noise than he should all the time? Does he learn from it? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. but you know he's for me I don't know I just I don't think like we just change our opinion because he's got on a red card today pretty much I would say the the mass consensus of most Spurs fans this week has been Christian Romero was right to say what he said on Instagram and I'm not saying that's everybody but I would say anecdotally most of the people I spoke to said yeah good good I'm glad he said what he said I think it's fair enough the press haven't liked it at all The press have come down in either the two ways, which is the odd protectionism of Thomas Frank or the kind of, how can I say it?
3:41Like the dismissive tone with which they treat Tottenham, which is, well, Tottenham are a club of this kind of size. So what is he moaning about? Get back in your box. why should a Tottenham player be moaning about their transfer window or whatever? They signed Xavi Simmonds, they signed Connor Gallagher. Obviously, Simmonds in summer, Gallagher here in this window. What are they complaining about? But either way, look, whether you think it was a red or not, that's not helped us, right? We can't deny that. Spurs looked okay before he went off. I think we have to again question the three at the back thing that Frank started trying to experiment with now.
4:30Didn't work in the first half against Manchester City. Didn't really look like it was working here. It invited more pressure onto us. There's a lot of space at the back. Don't know. It just whiffs. It pings. um but yeah christian mamera getting sent off didn't help us and i i don't want to sit here and just moan about like you know the way people sort of go on about christian mamera all the time because i've gone on about christian mamera as well in the past i have done um and i do get it i get the i get the the idea that there is a bit of a circus around him
5:13but I don't think that means that you know this whole narrative that oh he's been a naughty boy you know like it's that you can hear that just ringing out can't you and he just validates the nevels and it all that but I I don't think it was a red I don't think it was a red um let's call it an orange but I don't think it was a red it didn't help and then what do we have after that point a game where Spurs didn't really offer a lot. I thought, you know, there was little moments, little glimpses at points in the second half where I thought, we might nick one here. Like, I did have a feeling, I actually had a feeling we were going to get a draw.
5:58Well, I knew it was going to go the way it was, so it was basically United were going to get their second and that's it, game over, or we were going to nick a draw. And I know that's not exactly like blisteringly original insight onto a game of football, but you get what I'm saying, don't you? Like that, that, that, it kind of had that, that, that air about it. It had the air of a, of a, of a ball getting whipped into the box and Solanke just getting a foot on the end of it. Obviously didn't happen. It came quite close a couple times but yeah it didn't happen and yeah Spurs lose again Spurs lose again um is that he's gonna get a haircut yet what's Man United it's five games in a row isn't it and then he gets a haircut were we the fifth I can't remember I feel like I would have heard more about it if we were the fifth but no so it's we were the fourth so West Ham West Ham on the 10 why am I giving that air I don't care about some numpty getting a haircut Tottenham have lost again Tottenham have lost again Romero's out for four games Destiny a doggy's limped off the pitch again a player who I love who doesn't seem to be able to stay fit I don't think that's entirely his fault or anything like that as as the point has been made i've seen people make on twitter like when he returns he gets stuck immediately back in the team and we just stick with him because we got no depth at all for what it's worth i actually thought souza looked okay in the in the little cameo that we that he had yeah it wasn't there wasn't an awful lot to take from it but i thought he looked generally all right in that.
7:41But still, Adog is out. You know, Danso's out. We don't have any players. We don't have any players. And once again, you look to the transfer window and you have to say, what were we doing? What were you doing? What were you doing, Johan Langer? What? Don't know why I've said it like that. Felt like it. seemed good at the time, you know? Felt cute, might delete later.
8:15As, I'm not just going to nick our point, as my good pal Rosa said to me as we were watching the game, essentially Tottenham's whole point was like, we're not going to do a panic buy. And it's like, lads, that's what you do when you're, when you're sitting there, like near the relegation zone, the bottom of the table, you know? That's what you do when half your team's injured. that's what you do when the squad is threadbare you make panic buys you make loans whatever you get some more bodies in Thomas Frank clearly doesn't want to play the young players and that's fine well that's a whole other debate let's put it that way you know how much do you expose a young player how much do you chuck them in a crucial point in the season blah blah blah right it's a different argument but still he doesn't want to play them he doesn't want to give them any time he doesn't want to patch any holes with young players really where he can avoid it what are we going to do what are we going to do what happens when the almost inevitable happens when if Solanke gets injured again he doesn't really fancy tell what he just he just tucks telling and just hopes that he can do a job up top on his own when he's probably not very motivated doesn't really fancy it anymore Mwani who has been for most of the season you know I just don't get it.
9:36I don't, I don't, I don't get it. I don't, I don't understand. Well, I do understand. I totally understand because it's just Enoch doing Enoch things. Like, you know, again, they've, they've sold that whole vision that we're going to do things differently. It's not going to be the same. It was all Daniel Levy's fault. He ran the club poorly. There's those leaks to the press that, you know, we're doing an audit on all of the work that he's done to show that it's really, really bad. And some people argue that's to, like, drive down his share prices and all that type of stuff, whatever. Whatever skullduggery is going on there, they basically want us to forget that their name has been on the deeds for the past two and a half decades.
10:27They want us to forget that when push came to shove, when they wanted to get Daniel Levy out, they did it like that. Oh, it'd be tough to get rid of Daniel Levy. Was it? They managed that pretty quickly enough, didn't they? They managed to throw him under the bus just kind of when the protests and everything started kicking off a bit and whatever, you know? It's just frustrating. And I don't want to sit here after every single game, after every single loss that we are probably going to be having in the coming weeks, months, whatever, and have this same conversation about Enoch, the same conversation about the transfer window and everything.
11:09But, you know, they do this. They continue to prod us. We have this interview of Johan Langer where we're told how difficult it is. And, yeah, I don't doubt that. You know, I can imagine us, the layman on the street, probably doesn't have a strong idea of the complexities of the transfer market and what it's like buying, you know, multi-million pound assets, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But the only other thing I put back to them is, why is it that pretty much every other club can do it when they want to? To be fair, again, just in the interests of just, you know, clarity and everything, this January transfer window was particularly quiet across the board.
11:51It was particularly quiet across the board. So for me to sit here and say everyone else has managed to buy players isn't entirely true. It's not entirely true. But when we base it on history, if you like, we know that other clubs, other teams manage to get deals done and Spurs just don't.
12:16Again, I say that we brought Conor Gallagher in, you know, we brought Conor Gallagher in, but it was a deal that presented itself for us. We haven't really put the hard work in on that one, have we? Like, being real, like, let's be honest, layman or not, from the outside, I think it's probably quite clear to see that, you know, we haven't gone above and beyond to get Conor Gallagher in. It's a deal that has fit all parties, and thus it's happened. Oh, God.
12:50I just...
12:55I'm not joking and I'm not trying to be overly dramatic when I say this, but my conviction that we could, dash, probably are going to get relegated grows ever stronger. That's all I can say. I get it. I get the sense that people always say that we're too good to go down. That doesn't happen to a club like Tottenham. Zero chance. Number one, I don't think that's true.
13:29I understand that there are probably worse on paper teams than Tottenham out there. However, and as Phil said to me when I was talking to him about the game, It just feels like right now, pretty much everything that can go wrong for Spurs continues to go wrong. And this is how teams get relegated. This is what happens. You just catch yourself in a bad vein of form. You start losing key players constantly. Look at the injury list that we have. I don't you know like Frank or not I don't think we'd be in this position had we half our players available to us regardless of that the squad is clearly not very motivated regardless of that he's not really using the pieces at his disposal very well we can make all of those arguments and everything but still we keep getting injuries we keep losing players stuff just keeps happening that is not good It's not good for Spurs.
14:33It's not good for their... What's this little thing with me? It's not good for their chances of staying in this division, which is a mental thing to say. Like, it's an absolutely mental thing to say. It's...
14:53I don't know, man.
14:58Like... But like, honestly, I didn't think Man United were that good today. Maybe they didn't have to be. No, I don't really buy that. Like, I just don't think they were particularly good. But we just offered very little, didn't we? Yeah, you know, we did have 10 men for most of the game. But again, it's not like we're just pretending that no team with 10 men has ever sort of fought back. or, you know, got on a goal, got on an equaliser or anything like that. I'll tell you one thing they did say on TNT that I was staggered by. In the Premier League era, Manchester United have never lost a game at Old Trafford when they've been winning at half-time, which is wild.
15:47Like, that's a pretty mental thing to have, considering they've not been that good for the past few years, right?
15:58yeah they're all the thing is right they're all piping up at the moment as well on twitter number one you do forget lads we just had you in bill bow a few months ago and we had a nice big sort of open top bus parade at your expense so let's calm it down a little bit number two like you actually haven't really been very good for a long time now so just because you've won a few games it's like they win like two three games back to back and they just start talking like Like they're sort of like the top dogs again. Do you know what I mean? It's just like, it's just so insufferable. So pretty much all of the red clubs are just insufferable.
16:38They just really are, you know? And it's because they just get everything, they've just been pandered to for so long. Just pandered to constantly. Most like most prominent media figures are affiliated with one of those clubs. It's just so tedious. Ali McCoy, right? Ali McCoy isn't even affiliated with any of them. And every time he commentates on our games, he cannot stop himself. He cannot stop himself. And this is the same Ali McCoy that week after week after week, whenever I hear him commentate on games, Spurs games or not, acts like the old pub gammon going, all right, my day, in my day, we were all hard.
17:19In my day, in my day, we all had the testicular fortitude to break each other's legs and then shake each other's hands after the game. And then with that Christian Romero thing, it's so pearl-catchy. Oh, heavens! Heavens! Oh, what has he done? Oh, Christian Romero! Oh, what a brute! It's just so boring. It's so boring listening to him go on every single game about Spurs. And I can't, I can't, I cannot stand him. I cannot stand him. I can't stand him. Like, I really, it's him, Smith. We always get them on our games, always. I'm bearable. I'm bearable. I'm just, I am. I'm rattled. I'm really, I am properly ratty after that game.
18:08I'm really annoyed. I'm just, I'm just bored of Spurs losing. I'm bored of like listening to Thomas Frank's shit in every single press conference. and, you know, like his sort of snappy, snarky stuff all the time. You know, we play good in 20 minutes and we want to rep. Shut up, mate. Like, we play good for 20 minutes. Great. Well done. Pat yourself on the back, mate. Like, you've only spent like 200 million pounds so far in your time in charge, you know? They say you should learn something new every day, like how you should only drink Jägermeister at zero degrees Fahrenheit, ice cold. Like those frozen cavemen they find.
18:51Which makes you wonder, what would a caveman think of Jägermeister? Well, if you served it warm, he'd probably throw it in your face, say Oonga Boonga, and storm off. And nobody wants that. So drink it cold or not at all. Jägermeister. Damn, that's cold. Drink responsibly. Jägermeister liqueur, 35 % alcohol by volume. Imported by Masked Jägermeister, U.S., White Plains, New York. Visit quickbooks.com for details. it's just boring it's boring and you know i find i find so much of it boring i for the patreon patreon.com rtr pod i did a like watch along of the press conference because i saw loads of people going on about it it's just waffle man i saw it all pitched as a car crash car crash press conference to thomas frank was it like it was nothing it was just the same old boring rubbish It's the same old journalists, all of them, all in the line saying, I know you've already spoken about Christian Romero, but I know you've already answered a question about Christian Romero, but is he going to be disciplined?
20:47I know you've already answered a question about Christian Romero, but is he going to be at the club next year? And it's just like, this is it for half an hour, half an hour of them all just sitting there going on about Christian Romero. It's so, all of it is so boring, boring and I'm so bored of Spurs just being like this thing in the middle of it all, all the time. It's like we are just, we genuinely are, like we are like the old wildebeest staggering through the desert with all the vultures circling above it just waiting for us to drop so they can all come in and peck away, peck away all the little bits and pieces that they want to hear.
21:26This thing happened at Spurs, that thing happened at Spurs. You're just always on edge. You're always on edge waiting for things to go wrong this gleeful like narrative around spurs being terrible you know like even when we won a cup last year we won a trophy last year they couldn't wait they couldn't wait to go on about like well what does this mean for zonham's future what does this mean for ang postagoglu's future what does this mean for the club what does this mean for that and maybe maybe it's not special treatment maybe it's not maybe we don't get exceptional treatment maybe that's every single club we only view that because this is a club that we follow and we consume all of the news from various different sources about Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, but it just feels so tedious.
22:06It feels so boring. It's just like, as I said in the other pod the other week, just leave us alone. Just leave us alone. Arsenal are going to win the double, treble, quadruple. That in any year would be terrible, awful, the worst thing to happen. The fact it's happening at the same time as us in this relegation battle, being in this sort of form that we're in do you know what i mean like just give us a break just give us a break and i don't care if it's moaning i don't care if this is victim complex stuff like whatever i'm just a bit emotional we've just lost the game we keep losing games it's boring it's boring and it's this is probably boy this is it's ironic it's probably boring listen to me going off about this as well i get it i know but this is it this is a post-match reaction this is me talking immediately after the game.
23:00Well, five minutes after the game. You know, don't want trading standards after me. Okay. I had to change a nappy. My own.
23:19You know what that is? You know what I'm drinking there? That's sparkling water. If you don't like it, do one. elite, elite level water is sparkling water. I'm turning you now.
23:41William Gardner, hello mate, says, respect and thank you for doing this on Saturday afternoon, Jack. No worries, mate. Have you seen the recent clip of Pochettino on the High Performance podcast? He doubles down about wanting to be Spurs manager again someday. I haven't seen that, mate. I've seen a picture of a whiteboard with a lemon on it, and it says, like, Mason, Champions League, Spurs, underlined. That's the thing I saw. That's, like, the teaser, isn't it, from the thing? So, you know, I can assume that it's that. I don't know. I don't know. Like, the funny thing is, the way I feel right now, like, on a certain level, on a certain level yeah you know I'd love Pochettino back with some of the happiest times of my life and I've spoken about this like on here before just sort of talking about the fact that he might be able to be a bit of a yole give everything a bit of a lift this and that but you know I flip-flop on this all the time mate and right now honestly I'm sort of in this zone where I'm just like I don't even want that I don't even want the noise of that I don't want the whole like he's come back to Spurs blah blah blah he went to Chelsea do you know I mean just again the circus around it like there's a part of me that just be like let's just you know let's just do like Bournemouth or Brighton or whoever do and just get somebody that's doing all right in the Bundesliga or in La Liga some fairly unheard of let's get the next De Raiola Let's get the next Pochettino.
25:22Let's get the next Klopp, Herzler, whatever. Like, let's get that guy. There's not really that much narrative around it. Yeah, they might say, does he have the experience to manage us? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But just somebody that, like, doesn't have any baggage whatsoever. Do you know what I mean? Like, somebody young, somebody that's done a decent job. I don't know. I don't know any names. it's the sort of thing you have to go to Nathan A. Clark or somebody like that for I don't have the names I don't know who they are but there is that big part of me that's just like I want somebody with minimal baggage somebody that can work with young players because that's what Tottenham are going to do like we're not going to be we're not going to be the superstar club we're just not going to be not under Enoch that's not going to happen so if we are going to be the club that buys the Bergwyls the Greys the Tells whoever Odder Bears let's get in a manager that can work and I know Pochettino can do that, but still, let's bring in somebody that can work with those type of players, galvanise us, make us a fun team to watch, number one, make us fun to watch, make us solid, give us a bit of identity and give us a bit of pride back.
26:36Let's shelve these ambitions of being a top five, top six team. And it's easy for me to say, I'm not the one paying two grand a year for a season ticket. You know, I get that. I'm sat here now saying this. I haven't gone up to Manchester today. I haven't gone up to Manchester today. So my opinion on this doesn't count. But from an armchair perspective, I'm sat here saying, let's shove any of these sort of pretenses that we're a top five, top six, whatever team. And let's just focus on making the team fun again. Let's focus on a team with some identity. Let's focus on the team that we can actually be proud of again and then build from there, you know.
27:16But of course, stakeholders won't allow that. Sponsorships won't allow that. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Overheads won't allow that type of thing. We'll probably spend all summer clinging on to Thomas Frank, being vague about it, trying to have conversations with Xavi Alonso or Julian Nagelsmann or whoever in the background. End up getting strung along by either of those because they use us as a vessel to get a better deal out of Liverpool, out of Manchester United respectively. And then what, we get towards the end of summer or midway through summer before we have to go off for some other tour somewhere.
27:56And we've got a sort of Frank there that knows he's walking the Green Mile. We've got sort of Pochettino hovering around, probably still doing interviews. And we're not really sure about pushing the button on bringing him back in. Do you know what I mean? You can see it. You can just see it already. And I feel like we can lance that ball. I feel like we can circumnavigate all of that by just doing the thing that nobody would expect us to do. Pick up the lad from, you know, FC Sausageheim and see what he can do, you know? Like, I don't know anymore, man.
28:33Bill Argy says, I thought I was numb to it and had checked out mentally. That Romero challenge and sending off made my head so hot.

28:45yeah yeah mate that's genuinely I I don't know what it is I don't know if it's like you know I think number one I think we're all less unique as you know as we like to think we are it's a trite thing to say isn't it but it's one of those things that the internet's opened up a bit I think you know we also realize we many of us all think in the same way and think the same things at the same points and that's because you know we're limited machines or a capacity for a certain thing and we're prone to all the same influences and all that type of thing aren't we oh welcome to my ted talk on i so clever as i'm sitting here blethering on about football i don't know what i'm talking about what i'm talking about nonsense dunning kruger self-important pillock right i said that like jeremy clarkson then pillock self-important pillock um yeah i was really i thought i was checked out as well a little bit mate i thought i was kind of no do you know what it is is actually because i'd actually been duped into thinking maybe spurs actually you know maybe maybe we'll actually be okay from this point um but we're not we're not and that's why it's i find that really annoying i find
30:05I don't know, mate. Isle of Lily White says, Jack, you're a legend. Oh, thank you, sir. Jack, you're a legend. Fancy playing right centre-back next week. Cheers. That would actually be very, very... It would be generational content to see an overweight 40-year-old man who is actually pretty crap at football anyway and always kind of was quite crap at football playing right centre-back in a Premier League match. I think it would be quite interesting to watch. Maybe I should get an agent and pitch it. Pitch it to Spurs. Tell them that, you know, it'll... I don't know. It'll be interesting. I don't know.
30:54Album273 says, Surely the only way to go from here is up. Right? Right? It's very Padme, that, isn't it?
31:07Roberto Camp says, Romero is a dimwit. Dimwit is brilliant. Do you know what? That's one of those, like, old-timey, I mean, slur's not really the word for it. It's a slur, to me, infers that it's very offensive. but it's one of those, you know, just an old-fashioned insult that's just brilliant, imbecile, you blithering idiot. That's what Captain Hook always used to say, isn't it? You blithering idiot. What's it, Captain Hook, or was it one of them? Pocahontas or something, isn't it?
31:58320 music says we're in real danger here why can't every why can everyone but the board see it yeah mate you know hubris what it's either i think there's an interesting debate here as to whether it's hubris or it's them simply not having a clue the hubris element being well we're talking to hotspur we're really rich you know we bought conor gallagher we can't go down and they're not having a clue so i mean to be fair the two kind of go hand in hand don't they one begets the other if you like
32:40james pruden says i can't stand any of them any of them i think there is i honestly think there is a case to be made when can i remember football i would say i can properly remember football from if i'm saying like properly if i remember like games and disappointment i remember plenty of games i remember plenty of football from like 1994 onwards but i didn't get to watch an awful lot of football um i was a skyless household um so the majority of my football watching was either if i went to a mate's house or match of the day um and that would be match of the day on a sunday morning because i'd be tucked up in bed before it was on in the evening but where do you know i maybe let's say 99-2000 when I was watching more and more football if you like really
33:47I think from that point I don't think there has been I think you'd be hard pressed to find a more dislikable group of Spurs players I think there are a number of dislikable players in the squad that Pochettino inherited at least there was just such a stink around that squad at that point and they were all sort of checked out the majority of them and it seemed quite toxic and it didn't really seem like anybody was you know really have much love for the club or anything anymore and it feels like we're in that place now but loads of these guys are all young players still and loads of them all won a European trophy of his last year you know so he must realize there's a platform here to do something
34:38Pirate Dread Roberts says I didn't think we were that good before the Romero Red Romero's actions masked another bad performance under Frank yeah I don't know if I was saying we were like really good but I thought we were okay still like I said though the system I don't think provided us really much help.
34:59James Pruden said, players manage a board, they can all do one. Yep. Canine McGurn one says, who does Romero hate more, the Tottenham hierarchy or Brazilians? Yeah. Toast Malone, three wins since October the 26th and the manager doesn't seem to be under any pressure whatsoever.
35:24Yeah. Ryan Andrew says, I want to get off. Rub it harder. Hacker CPS says, Orange. Yeah, yeah, Orange. Yeah, I agree. Orange. Kugo says, obviously daft of Romero, but he's been pulling the team for the past two months. Not a red. Really unlucky. And his head's on Mars because the manager is a clueless W word. Ben Mathis says, sleepwalking into relegation for what reason? I can see some transfer requests coming in the summer. Yep. Bang on. Hacker CPS says hard yellow. Yep. 320 Music VB also says, yep, agree. Orange. If it isn't Romero, it's a yellow card. Christopher Hall says if the club wasn't such a shambles Romero wouldn't need to post would he exactly spot on like for for all this that like oh it's vile that he's done this it's disgraceful guy signed a new contract in summer you know signed a new long-term contract with us he's a club captain I don't think he's like you know desperate to leave by any stretch of the imagination although you know there was some talk that he did it to get himself a bigger pay packet and i don't know whatever
36:55darren223 says didn't watch the game same as usual before and after the red pretty much mate to be honest pretty much christopher hall also says he sets us up to die he can only have one more game do you think that I don't know mate I I cannot I can't see them getting rid of him I think they're just so terrified I think they're so terrified of and to be fair like who do we bring in who do we bring in for half let's see managers available now Premier League let's have a look
37:40available coaches this is transfer market it's obviously Xavier Alonso yeah we all know that Gareth Southgate anyone taking Gareth Southgate I personally don't really fancy it but you know I think we'd all be lying if we said we weren't all bought in and loving him in 2018 you know I don't want Gareth Southgate I'm just saying Enzo Maresca I don't think he comes to Spurs Joe Jim Lowe should we have him on the sidelines picking bits out of his pants and sniffing them and stuff don't know about that Xavi Hernandez he's still floating about isn't he Ruben Hamerim I've seen some people and I don't know if it's just one of these like oh I'm different type takes.
38:35I have seen quite a few Spurs fans being like, I'd take Ruben Amarim at Tottenham. The guy was an absolute disaster at United. And I know United are a bit of a bin fire, but come on.
38:50Thiago Mota. I didn't even realise he was... Igor Tudor. Igor Tudor, that's apparently, isn't it, who Peretti wanted us to bring in back in like November or something. Walter Mazzari, decent enough gaffer, isn't he? But I don't know, he's a new bit of a nutter as well.
39:12Edin Terzic, that's the guy that lots of people really, I see that name come up a lot. An old sort of, I think he's an old Dortmund manager. I think there's like a, from my understanding, please correct me if I'm wrong, but Edin Terzic, there's a bit of the like anges about him, I think. I think it's all very like blood and, wait, blood and thunders Nazi, isn't it? what is it like hail and i don't know whatever it is the good thing throwing caution to the wind and everything he's you know i don't know sam allardyce he's only 71 sam allardyce you all fancy that i would like to be fair and if you are watching nathan i don't mean this in a nasty way i'm just saying like nathan kish and the lads there's a there's a part of me there's like a horrible chaos embracing part of me that we'd love to see head spinning head spinning in those kind of quarters if we brought in sam allardyce it would yeah there's something about that that would be a fairly quite funny in a way um it's greesby says the only conclusion i've come to is that the media love frank because he's got spurs back to where they think we belong he's too weak to stand up to any of them like ang did you know i don't think that's the worst thing i've seen posited it is all very like you know come on spurs be humble sit down you know sit down be quiet now you had your little cup and that's fine okay ryan andrew says uh a harsh red but romero should have known better he's got a bad reputation already and after his comments this week all the attention was on him stupid to give the ref the opportunity i think that is fair enough to a degree i think it It does kind of, all I'm saying is, I don't entirely dismiss what you're saying because I do think there is something in that.
41:17I do think it's also easy to forget that this stuff is happening in an instant on a football pitch, right? We all obviously get to sit around and reflect on it after the fact, but, you know.
41:35Joseph G says, reality check. We're 14th in the league, three points off 17th. The acceptance of averageness from Enix speaks volumes. This is not high performance. Frank out, Winnie the Pooh in. Yeah, it's not high performance, is it? Jake Humphries this week posted a thing on LinkedIn.
42:02And it was one of those things that you honestly couldn't have paid me to reveal what it is that he was talking about he so he i think his kid goes to the same secondary school that he used to go to or something but he was like and it's you know it's quite vulnerable i'm not making fun of a guy for being vulnerable to be fair as much as everyone likes to make fun of jake humphries but he basically was like almost in tears talking about how powerful and how much of an impact it has on him going back to the secondary school that he was horrifically bullied in and he regaled this story about him either being like they were getting they're basically getting changed to pe and i can't remember i think they sort of you'll think he was like half naked or they took his pants off or something and some of the bullies carried him outside and locked him in like they threw him out of the changing room and put him into the playground completely naked and wouldn't let him back in um and you know it's just like you know his whole thing was just like and then look where i've come to from there don't let bullies stop you kind of thing which you know if he didn't have such form for self-aggrandizement I don't know.
43:30I don't really know why I've gotten onto this, but it's just, it was quite a lot, I would say. Yeah, high performance. Bingai says, we ran out of excuses. Oliver Lilywhite says, Diallo made the exact same challenge 10 minutes later and maybe got a yellow. I don't know. I don't even think he did get booked. And yeah, United were kicking lumps out of us. Was it the challenge on Xavi Simons later on? Because I saw like minutes after the Romero read, there was a rough tackle on Xavi Simons and I don't think it even got a book in. I don't think it got anything. Yeah, annoying. Patrick Longson, just showing you, I'm not in an echo chamber here.
44:16Patrick Longson says, Romero doesn't deserve the captaincy. Today he epitomized the word disgrace. I've been defending him for months, but that's me done. He needs to be sold. Strangely, I'm leaning back to Frank Inn. I mean, that took a turn at the end there, Patrick. I'm not going to lie, mate. But, you know, somebody's going to have to pay up for Christian Mermere if they want him. You know, that's sort of a long and short of it, isn't it? Really, that's kind of how it is on that one. Will they? I don't know. I don't know if they will. he's going to cost a lot. And I don't think, you know, leaving or not, I don't think they're going to want to sell Romero.
45:00And I don't really think they should. He's 27 years old. He's got like a four or five year contract at Spurs. He is, whatever anybody wants to say, he is probably still one of the most talented defenders going in, you know, when he fancies it.
45:17I would say Spurs, I don't think it would be a tall order for Spurs to sort of, want to have more than you know 60 mil at least for him i don't know who pays that maybe real madrid if they fancy it don't think atletico can afford that um i don't think many other lilly can barca i don't know do barca even want him i don't know
45:46matthew g nelson says cheers tottenham pleasure doing business review appreciate the three points thanks for the thanks for the nice night in Europe a few months ago Matthew I very much enjoyed the trophy parade
46:04it's I would say it's a startling sign of where Manchester United are now compared to you know a few years back that you are reveling in Manchester United being Spurs and coming into a Tottenham stream on your Saturday afternoon you know that's that's all i'd say that's all i'd say to that um c nor says i don't even know how much it's even on frank at this point he's got the injury crisis and chad and a new manager can't fix this until april when the players are back it's a wasted season uh i think you can blame frank to a degree because he keeps setting us up in this weird way Like, this tinkering, I think the over, you know, the overcomplication, wait, overly complicated, whatever.
46:53He overly complicates everything, doesn't he? Doesn't he? I know, I'm there in the team talks. Hacker CPS says, I honestly think we need a study done on the injuries and inevitably sue the PGML for not protecting the players. I mean, it is kind of mad, mate. Like, we sort of, you know, we talk about the amount of games and all this type of stuff that players have to play, and it's pretty mad.
47:26Ricochet Pig. Hello, old friend. You didn't answer me last time as well when I asked you where the name Ricochet Pig comes from. Ricochet Pig, maybe a harsh red, but not a scandalous one, so we shouldn't put this result on the ref. yeah I don't I don't think it's scandalous I don't think it's gonna I was you know maybe a bit dramatic in the moment on Twitter but I uh yeah yeah I get what you're saying um also at this point if you are watching this on YouTube please please do me a favor and just drop it a like right now um also if you're listening to this podcast and there's probably been an advert break or maybe even two by now and you thought, grr, I liked this guy, but I don't like that the flow gets interrupted by bloody adverts all the time.

50:31Oh, that's an interesting one. Binny Guy says, our players are not really hurt. They don't want to commit. That's it. Besides, it's good for the owners because they don't want to pay them while not playing. I mean, that's a conspiracy, sir. There's certainly a theory. I haven't read it yet but Jack Pitbrook has written something about Dajan Kulusevsky basically being like what's going on there I would like to read that I would like to know what's going on because it seems kind of weird doesn't it? It seems kind of weird that we're still sort of sat around waiting for Kulusevsky wondering sort of what's up with him what he's doing I don't know oh what ricochet pig said that um bruno also hit 200 goal contributions today it's a start reminder what with it we could assign if it ended up with well we ended up with you said gedson instead but we actually ended up with loselso instead um but yeah potter's first choice was bruno fernandez bruno fernandez wanted to come to spurs and by all accounts we just wouldn't we wouldn't pay the the wages that he wanted to be paid so there we go
51:47a lot of people saying that we basically you know we're just excuses fc that's the same thing so we are ian says after last week i relaxed about the threat of relegation but it's back in spades now and several people are agreeing with that which yeah i i kind of feel that again now um chatting on the uh oh god what's going on now something in the premier league what uh yeah so west ham 2-0 up at the moment just as we're speaking after 25 minutes west ham are 2-0 up which they smell blood they smell blood don't they um Oh dear. It ain't looking good, Brev. It ain't looking good.
52:40Lucas Tate says, Captain Romero strikes again. What a bloody idiot. Wouldn't be surprised if we go unbeaten in the next four Prem games without the, quotation marks, best centre-back in the league. Don't know, we'll see. to dare is too risky says cootie out for four games we really are in a relegation battle and the club didn't bother to bring in reinforcements yep liam wilson says under poch we had a brilliant first team but the dropping quality to the bench and squad was obvious that's what we have now a squad full of players who really should not be first team players a large i think a lot yeah i I think that's true for a large amount of them.
53:24How many of these players do we, and I'm being genuine here, genuine here, how many of the players that we currently have, and don't reduce it to their actual individual attributes, I'm just talking about their overall level, if you get what I mean. Like, how many of the players that we have now are, say, miles above the second string of the Pochettino era? When we talk Ben Davis, when we talk Kieran Trippier, Kevin Wimmer you know like are we are we miles above player for player that sort of standard
54:05I don't know if we are uh whatever he is 36 35 36 year old Ben Davis often steps in now and you know people don't like to hear it but I think generally looks like one of our better players whenever he does I mean he probably won't ever again so you know we don't have to have that culture war anymore but you know it's i don't know
54:31cnor says next year is massive mad as deki kudos solanke xavi and hopefully some big incomings in the summer lots of the potential but this season is such a write-off i mean look that you know that is true like when you look at that when you look at the sort of players that we do have coming back into the fold it is quite ridiculous you know it genuinely is quite ridiculous some of the talent that we are missing right now and what we could have going forwards
55:03we just got to stay in the premier league haven't we because you know not all of those players stay if we go down and do all of those players stay anyway i don't know um but things things could look very different this time next year we could have a new manager we could have a large amount of those players fit and firing some new signings in there as well and suddenly things you know kick on things change really quickly in football but right now it's really really hard to see that and it's really, really hard to see that with Thomas Frank as our gaffer, in my opinion.
55:43Christopher Hall says, every side that beats us doesn't have to be very good. Yeah, I think that's a fair point. Third time in 13 months, we've gone seven games without a win, which hadn't happened in the previous 16 years. Get this cretin out of the job. Ridley82 says, we're stuck. Frank won't leave. the players appear angry we have an injury list longer than anyone's the board made big statements when levy went but have gone quiet since the fans are annoyed yeah it's basically summed it up all pretty nicely haven't they
56:29ricochet pig also says the cost of not reinforcing could be astronomical how does that level of risk make financial sense to the board it's almost as if they don't know that relegation exists it does to a degree and yeah look i i you know i don't know the numbers i just floated when i was talking to phil the other day that maybe there's a horrible businessy voice in the background somewhere saying it'll actually cost us more to panic by now than relegation might if we go down and come back up the next year. It's parachute payments and all that type of thing, right? Yeah. T-Pace Coist says, we get Lee Dixon in the States.
57:15Mate, that's horrific, isn't it?
57:22And then Leslie says, McCoy is an absolute cliche-ridden cliche. yeah i i honestly i cannot stand him mate i cannot stand the bloke i really can't stand him jack 1906 says romero's wasn't even that bad of a tackle i agree you know i said it at the top i i really do agree um ian 3415 says the thought of being replaced by wrexham just hit home Jesus can you imagine that's gonna be a circus isn't it when they come up as well if they do
58:00I don't know well here's an interesting one JM12VV says afternoon Jack are you a pork crackling man I'm not really you know I'm not actually despite my outward appearance I'm not actually that much of a pork man for any like religious purpose or anything like that. I just, I don't really love it. I don't really love it. And I also, it's tinged with a lot of guilt because pigs are really smart. Pigs are really, really clever. They're really, really smart. It's kind of, I don't know. You hear lots of stories of them knowing that they're, you know, about to be slaughtered and trying to escape and stuff in it.
58:43I don't know. See also octopus, octopi, octopus, octopi. They're incredibly, incredibly intelligent creatures. Incredibly intelligent. One of my old mates used to say to me, though, not so clever that they don't end up on my dinner plate, though. So, you know.
59:08Andy Years says, Frank is not the problem. Here we go. Wild how people cannot see that. The players are simply not good enough, and strength and depth is non-existent. You cannot put that result on him. I think you can put lots of results on him though. I think you can put the way he sets up all the time. Why does he play three at the back when you know Manchester United have got the sort of attacking unit that they do, that they're going to be able to exploit the same pockets of space that are afforded to them that Manchester City did the week before? They set the template for that. you know Frank is not an inspiring dude ultimately I don't see him go into these press conferences and and lead the charge really you know all it is is conceding that it's difficult it's saying that we're going to lose games it's you know I don't think you can pretend that that stuff doesn't bleed down to the players I think I think you can comfortably say that a lot of this is on him mate you know from if I'm being brutally honest
1:00:18Henry Sabini says I'm done with Romero he's a disgrace read all day long
1:00:30Ian said as it stands with six points off the drop and West Ham are hitting form this is horrible Roberto Camp says Jack I think you vastly overrate Romero I don't I don't, I don't agree with you there, mate, in the respect that like, I think I, I often point out that he is, you know, he is culpable for things on the pitch, shall we say. But I do think he's, you know, I think he's, he's talented. And a lot of it's about image as well, isn't it? Right. You know, Argentine star, Tottenham captain, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, all that type of stuff. And he is young. and when he is good we're often good you know that's kind of the you know i think that i've not drawn up a chart or anything but i would say off the top of my head there's probably a correlation there court says six points off the job i'd feel more confident with big sam keeping us up compared to this clown i can't believe the board have just let us sleepwalk into this situation yeah ample sample says will there be a relaxation patreon level where we can just listen to whale sands and forget about this mess i mean i could do more of the i have been meaning to do more of the sporkle stuff did a bit of sporkle stuff a while back i'm not gonna lie right didn't boom do you know i mean i didn't become a viral sensation with it but it did seem to appeal to quite a niche audience and most of you know most of all i quite enjoyed doing it so So I might do something like that.
1:02:08But I'll put it on my YouTube anyway. It won't just be on Patreon. I get that you were sort of having a joke there. Thomas Mullen says, this team and manager are in free fall. Spurs' problem is that we bought English first division players, but that's where they're going. Yeah.
1:02:32the united guy is uh one game away from a haircut happy for him you know the duty says that was an interesting one and people arguing about thomas frank in the in the comments i'll sort of leave him to that it's quite interesting though um trey for trey for ball 3603 says i was thinking about problems It's not a red, but all the pundits going red, red, red, red, red. So I thought it must be. Thanks for suggesting an orange. And yep, Romero was in the public eye that did it. Yeah, yeah.
1:03:11C. Norquoise says, big moves needed this summer. A number six, left winger, another top striker. Do not keep Mwani. I don't think we'll keep Mwani, will we? I don't think we will.
1:03:28gareth day says of all the abysmal results and performances this is the one least on frank um but despite the game being even beforehand we still stoically avoided passing forwards i don't know it's just it's really it's just really annoying is it yeah west ham are still is it still 2-0 so what's going on Villa Villa are winning Arsenal are winning Chelsea are winning who are they playing 3-0 away at Wolves Fulham are winning 7th in the table beating Everton I don't know who have Palace got next Palace Brighton so yeah that'll be that'll be tasty won't it what have Leeds got Oh, Leeds won 3-1 yesterday.

1:04:30Oh, man. I mean, at least we got it out of the way, right? At least we got that one out of the way. We can enjoy the rest of our weekends now. Can we not? Can we not do that? Are we not allowed to do that? I think we are allowed to do that from this point. Yeah. Spurs lose again. Ain't looking good. Injuries, red cards. It's really quite frustrating, isn't it? It's really quite frustrating. And, yeah. I don't know. Thanks for watching. Thanks for listening. Like I say, patreon.com. If you want.

Spurs lose again. Something I'm getting bored of typing. Sure, Manchester United have been reinvigorated by Michael Carrick, but it's still frustrating to see Spurs put in such a meek showing against a side that we beat four times last season. The Cristian Romero debate will rage on, was it a red, wasn't it? Either way, the timing is somewhat ironic, giving his bemoaning of the team being short of players. Udogie limping off again, completed a miserable afternoon for Spurs that again asks the question...where are the points coming from?
