1:26Ugh. for details.
1:34Glory, glory, Tottenham Hotspur, and the Spurs go marching in. Or on. And the Spurs go marching on. On. There you go. It's the Saints go marching in. Oh, when the Saints go marching in. But it's when the Spurs go marching on. Oh, wait, hang on. Oh, when the Spurs go marching in. I might be onto something here. On or in? You tell me. What is going on? Pep Guardiola. Pep Guardiola! Supposed to be... We're talking about arguably, arguably by many people's, I would say, appreciation of the beautiful game. Arguably the greatest football manager of all time. Who does he hate? Who does he hate playing against?
2:26Who does he... who does he come unstuck against on a consistent basis now? We can say a consistent basis. Little old Tottenham Hotspur. Little old Tottenham Hotspur football club. That's who. What's going on? How does this continue to happen? Halftime, I'm sat there thinking, genuinely, and I'll be real, sat there halftime thinking, we're going to get battered now. But at least they get a bit closer to Arsenal. I said it. I said it. That was my kind of, you know, making myself feel better about the situation. But I'm delighted that we've managed to come back and do that. I'm not sat here. I'm not lamenting Arsenal getting a further sort of lead at the top of the table or whatever.
3:19On tonight's evidence, on this afternoon tonight's evidence, this Manchester City team aren't good enough to catch up with Arsenal. So just, you know, I said it on Twitter, just accept the inevitable. Just accept the inevitable and enjoy the fact that Spurs have shown a bit of fight, have shown a bit of spirit, have come back against, you know, what should be one of the best teams in Europe, who don't sort of seem to be whenever they play against us, which is kind of bizarre. additional additional little talking point was Antoine Semenyo and his sort of so Antoine Semenyo becomes I think the third player one of them's Benito Carboni I can't remember who the other one is but there's three players now including him that have scored for two different clubs in one season against Tottenham Hotspur so Antoine Semenyo joins that club he's sort of smug little shushing celebration thing.
4:21I think the shushing was partly inspired because he did like a backflip and landed on his arse and got an ironic cheer. So kind of fair enough. He was sort of playing around a bit, but still, you know. And John Semenya, who obviously scored in his last game for Bournemouth, comes and scores on our turf, turned us down, is apparently a boyhood Arsenal fan, whatever that means, but still. It was nice to see, you know, him not smiling at the end of the game. Funny, funny once again to see Pep Guardiola. I've been told I'm not allowed to talk about it, but I'm going to talk about it. I'm afraid. Clay Hall Carter.
5:00That
5:03Pep Guardiola standing now on the sideline with his little spit pearl that he juggles around on his tongue, like rolls his tongue over and it's, it's, it's gross. I've spoken about it on here before. It's disgusting. It's not chewing gum. You think it's chewing gum. It's not. A little pearl of saliva that he just always boils up on his tongue. Disgusting. Disgusting man. Please, Manchester City, please go and stop Arsenal from this point. Do it. Do it, lads. But Spurs, good. Showing a bit of fight. Showing a bit of spirit. Now, look, it's a tough one, isn't it? it's a tough one because you know I feel very jubilant after that I feel very happy that Spurs have done that I do feel very happy um I think Spurs need as many points as they can get I don't I don't share the sense that it's just you know ridiculous doom mongering to consider Tottenham in a semi-relegation fight at this point I think you know I think we need to be serious and I think we need to get as many points on the board as we can our injury list is extensive defensive and growing.
6:16So as many points as we can get, the better, really. So I'm happy about it. You know, I'm not, I'm not sat here lamenting, look, at the end of the day, Arsenal can do what they're going to do. Yeah, it'll be frustrating, but for me, it's far less painful. Maybe it's because I've seen them do it several times, but it's far less painful to see Arsenal win the league than it is to see. The thought of Tottenham getting relegated is a disgusting one for me. So whatever Arsenal do, leave them to it. We're going to win the Champions League anyway. The difficult thing is, but that's not the difficult thing, it's not the Arsenal thing.
6:53The difficult thing is that really I wanted to give Thomas Frank both barrels. I wanted to go in much harder on him than I feel is probably appropriate to do so right now because I don't really want to turn this into a moany, unhappy podcast. I don't feel like it would be entirely in good faith to do that when we've just come back and done that to Manchester City. First half was a shambles. Once again, we only played in a way that even resembled anything like expansive, expressive, attacking or interesting when we were two goals down, when we were two goals down and desperate. and you wonder how much the players are taking it into their own hands.
7:40Once again, we relied upon a wonder goal, really, to level it. And what a goal. What a goal from Solanke. I know it's going to be, I think it's going to be one of those things like the Rooney shined at the bicycle kick against Man City. I feel like this is going to be one of those, that Solanke's flick was actually an own goal or whatever. I don't know. It was an absolute worldie, an absolute wonder goal. And we look so much more potent. I know this is nothing revelatory, and this shouldn't come as any massive surprise to anybody, but we look so much more potent with an actual proper number nine at the front of the system.
8:28We really, really do. it makes me realize dash feel that I've probably not been as fair to Solanke as I maybe could have been in the past I've always sort of valued his link-up play his presence up top but I've often felt that he maybe doesn't quite have the killer instinct required it has been posed to me previously that maybe you know you're simply even subconsciously comparing him to harry kane who you've been watching for the last decade who is one of the most potent strikers that there ever has been that's probably a fair thing to say i mean slanky did score 19 premier league goals the season before we bought him you know um but whatever it is you know a lovely finish against Frankfurt and again you know a wonderful a wonderful finish you know for the for the second goal and you know in the right place at least for for the first one um I did I've got to say I'm just saying I do I was I was I feel like we half feel like we half got away with one for the first one like had that had var called that as a foul i wouldn't have said it was a ridiculous decision that's all i'm saying that's all i'm saying but look you win some you lose some um shavi a real a real like cause for optimism finally looks like he's you know maybe settling into things maybe he's finally sort of getting to grips with things taking on the the mantle of being uh of being the talisman of the team um and look you can't hide from the fact that it helps him a lot having somebody like Solanke ahead of him um to look for to play alongside to receive you know balls in dangerous positions from there's a slight hesitancy with Xavi still to just sometimes shoot on sight, just when he gets the ball, just ping it.
10:45That's probably a Thomas Frank instruction, I would say. But look, still, that's one slight observation. But Xavi right now seems to be growing with every single game. With every single game, and that's obviously great. You know, the kid's one of our all-time highest transfers, probably on the highest wage we've ever paid anybody, I would imagine. Maybe similar to what we paid Harry Kane, I guess. But yeah, a lot of money. Conor Gallagher, I would say I was raging with in the first half. I genuinely was. I was watching the game, looking at Conor Gallagher, thinking he is useless. He is a dud. He is Heubier.
11:30He is a headless chicken. He's just a passion merchant. Why did we spend all this money on him? And then again, second half, I was like, actually, pleasantly surprised. pleasantly surprised with how he played um felt he seemed like a lot like he was a lot more composed at times managed to just get his foot on the ball i think he wound up city quite a bit he was he was he was very useful palina i know i know he's a battleground i know it's one of these sort of i don't know tennis matches with him and you know the sort of the opinions on his worth to the team and all that sort of thing. I thought he was good today.
12:16I thought he was really good. I thought he was, you know, really important, a really important part of, I was going to say, of that win. It wasn't, but it kind of feels like it in a way, to a degree, but it wasn't.
12:34And Destiny a Doggy is, is a, is a, just what I hope, I hope, and I pray, and whatever, summon, him to just, have an injury free, few years, because he's, he's a phenomenal talent, he really is a phenomenal talent, he's, I, I think he's an unbelievable player, I remember when we first signed him, and he started playing for us, thinking to myself like, this kid, and I'm pretty sure that the, the rumour mill kicked off, sharpish think after about half a season he was already getting linked to manchester city and you just saw that you were like yeah he's he's absolutely that type of player that just gets snapped up straight away like he's he's not going to be at spurs for long and then he's obviously had loads of injuries lots of setbacks um and i think like the the idea of somebody signing him would seem a bit more i don't know a bit more of a stretch um but you see it when he gets like a when he gets a few games, when he, you know, he's a bit settled, he gets fitter, he gets a bit more match sharpness.
13:43He's an unbelievable player, man. I really do. I think he's technically brilliant, physically like imperious. He's just, he's the complete package for my money. I think he, I think he truly is like one of the best in his position, probably, you know, in the league at least right now. I think he's an astonishingly good footballer. Let's just hope he can stay fit. But yeah, it's a funny game. I think Mark Gay is trash, honestly. I think taking that step up to City, I was watching him all game, I think he's awful. um like i i i mean bang average is probably a fair thing to say but it's that whole kind of big fish small pond thing he you know he might have done really well at palace and then you know the thought that we were apparently going to try and chuck 60 70 mil at him a couple of years ago makes my toes curl like i don't think the guy's good i you know i don't think he's any good rogery looks a shell the player he once was.
14:55And Erling Haaland, if he stays at Manchester City, there's every chance he might break Shearer's record. If he's at City for the next whatever, if he's at City for 10 years in total, he'll probably break Shearer's record. He'll surpass Kane for goal scoring. But he's nowhere near the player that Harry Kane is. Not at all. they really they absolutely dropped one not just going all out for Kane getting involved in the kind of the stuff with Levy they should have just paid what Spurs wanted for him they should have paid the 100 mil and he'd be because I'm seeing a lot right now of the whole look how many goals Kane scoring in the Bundesliga easy league he was taking the piss in the Premier League as well people sort of pretending he wasn't absolutely smashing the Premier League to pieces as well.
15:49And I dare say if he was playing for Manchester City, he'd be absolutely bagging, like, completely. But whatever, it's not our problem. Don't need to worry about that. Spurs, look, you know, we're not out of the woods. We're definitely not out of the woods. I don't know what Solanke's injury status is. I don't know if he was just a bit tired after, you know, hence why he came off. Romero, who knows what's going to happen there. injuries are, they're mounting up, they're piling up.
16:24But, you know, if we can keep, if we can keep just grinding out a few points, hopefully we'll be all right. And that's not what anybody wants to be saying at this point. Nobody wants to be sat here saying, if Spurs can grind out some points, then we can stay in the Premier League. You know, really, I want to be sat here saying, let's look ahead. let's close the gap on the top five let's get in the Champions League again next year obviously that's what I want to be sat here saying obviously that's what I would like Spurs to be doing but the reality is right now we need to just pull away from the pull away from the relegation end of things a bit navigate this tricky month and it's going to be a tricky month February and then just see where we are after that see where we are after this but West Ham did us a solid yesterday by being characteristically useless.
17:21I don't ever want to have to feel that spark of cheering or being happy about a Chelsea goal, really, ever again in my life. A horrible, disgusting feeling. And I curse this football club for putting us in that position, but here we are. um but yeah look I the there are things on the tip of my tongue that you know I'm not happy about I'm not happy with Thomas Frank I'm not happy overall with the direction of travel um I'm not happy with how Spurs played in that first half and in a funny sort of way I'm not really happy with how we played in the second half because once again it shows you that it doesn't have to be like the first half it doesn't have to be that way um that it is a choice to be that way but we got a point we've come back from 2-0 down against Manchester City maybe I'll save this for you know one one during the week you know I don't I don't want to sit here and moan on a on a on a Sunday evening I want to be I want to embrace the fact that I'm happy about Spurs um and I don't want to force I've had I've had plenty of conversations on here about Thomas Frank my feelings on him all that sort of thing and no doubt I'll be having more of those conversations in future but right now like I say the the feeling after these games is I want to react in the way that I want to I want to I want to showcase the way I am feeling overall about that I want to be as authentic as I can and I'm not going to sit here and complain about Thomas Frank for half an hour.
19:09I mainly want to focus on the fact that Spurs have navigated. They've started a tricky month pretty well. So, you know, I'm a Spurs fan at the end of the day. You know, that's the main thing. The overriding feeling for me with all of this stuff is always, I want Spurs to do well. I just do. Like, why are we doing this otherwise? You know, all that stuff the other week about like, let's go to the game and create a bad atmosphere. Why? I think it was the Dortmund match. Like, why do that? You know? I don't get it. And I'm not saying this about change for Tottenham. Change for Tottenham trying to organise a protest and everything, I feel is quite different.
19:48They're not going there and saying, like, let's make an intentionally bad atmosphere. Let's boo from minute one, all that type of stuff. That's just petulant, mindless, like, childish crap, you know? oh oh you know they sacked ang plus to cogloo and they hired this bloke get over it man like get over that side of things i i'm sorry to tell you but it was useless under ang as well towards the end like and i don't know why we have to keep pretending that it wasn't like you know he was terrible towards the end and frank's been terrible at the start like that's that's the main thing like this idea that you have to like boo spurs or be unhappy with spurs it's just it's just ridiculous like with spurs fans at the end of the day i want to support spurs i want spurs to be a good side right if change for tottenham want to do a protest and stuff that's different if they want to make a statement towards the ownership if they are getting organized about it which they have done you know they are very organized you know they're run by a committee of people that are having ideas and thinking of different ways to do things fine you know crack on support everybody's right to protest don't support everybody's right to try and you know go into a game to create a poisonous atmosphere and i it's the point of that people pay people pay good money to go and just enjoy football sometimes not everybody wants to be wrapped up in your feelings against the board or whatever um and i know people say oh you know that just makes you a useful a useful you know stooge or whatever nonsense for the board i don't know i sit here and i complain about the board and everything all the time.
21:26And the way they've thrown away good things. Anyway, I'm not getting into all this straw man stuff. I don't know why I'm bothering to do this. Happy about Spurs winning and that's it. That's what I'm going to say. Ridley82 says, I've muted the darts to this and it's marching in. Nice. Rob Stone says, Javi, man of the match. Yeah. Yeah, I think he... it's quite harsh to not give it to Solanke, I've got to say. But, you know, I mean, that goal, his second goal was unbelievable. Absolutely brilliant. Echosonic Music says, Evening Jack, they almost did it. Almost. Sounds a bit like Newt in Aliens.
22:12They mostly come out at night. Mostly.
22:19Ridley also says, did Romero manage the second half?

23:39Many have come here. None have survived. Predator Badlands, now streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. Rated PG-13. could have done Mr. Stephen Stotch says front three needs to be Tell, Xavi and Odaber going forward just give them the ball and let them play attacking football, I don't really disagree with that Odaber is he is really really going into an impressive footballer I feel that there's going to be a bit of egg on a few faces because he does seem to be a really talented player, to be fair.
24:25John Benfield says, what do we feel about all the injuries? Are some players just deciding they aren't up for the fight?
24:35Yeah. I think they're just running to the ground, aren't they, mate? Genuinely speaking, I think. I do think obviously they are all terrified of getting like nobbled before the World Cup. Didn't Bellingham get done yesterday?
24:54Let's have a look. Yeah, I think Jude Bellingham got nobbled yesterday, which is not very good for England. I know people like to moan about him, but he is a pretty exceptional player. Not great for England. than that um yeah i i i you know i don't say it's right i don't think it's good i know the clubs pay their wages but every player wants to play in the wild cup don't they especially when they're in their prime so if they do feel those little like tweaks they're probably thinking i'm just gonna take it easy on this you know little thing ricochet pig says ricochet pig actually can i i it's been put to me somebody so somebody has said to me they find it very funny the way I read out the name ricochet pig every time you write in and I love it I love it as a username I think it's very funny I find it interesting I like the word pig is it's funny what's it what's can you can you explain ricochet pig please I have wondered what it is um please tell me and if it's like some common parlance I'm not aware of then you know jokes on me isn't it but ricochet pig does say hope Solanke is okay.
26:09Jack Underhill says Xavi really is warming up. He is. He is starting to look really pretty tasty, isn't he? Alex Paramore says thank God you're here. What do we even make of that? Yeah, sorry it's a bit late by the way. I was at my parents so I had to drive back and all that type of stuff. but why am i apologizing to you i'm not apologizing to you don't owe you anything do you think you are all of you i'm not i'm not talking to you alex i'm talking to any anyone that's listening to this i think i need to apologize to you because i've got a life because i've got a family right it's only your business where i've been so if you're big i will i will do this podcast when i'm good and ready okay right alex paramour says thank god you're here mate what do we even make of tonight the first half was the worst footballing performance i've ever seen then the second half we were good man city got so complacent maybe that's what it was maybe maybe it was a rope-a-dope maybe maybe that's thomas frank's plan all along maybe he's spent the first half of the season convincing everybody that we're crap and then we're going to barnstorm the second half of the season and win every single game if we won every single game from this point do you think we would win the premier league how many points are we off the top so we are i mean we're we're jesus we're 24 points behind arsenal so nah we i i think even i think even if we won every single game in the premier league from this point i don't i don't think we'd win the league i don't think we would we come close though we come close though but i don't i don't think we'd quite do it i love lily white says just finished eating the roast which i cooked what roast please tell me sir i need to know um the roast i cooked as i listened to that epic comeback and the only thing i'm more delighted to see after that show character is a rule the roost live stream that's just started yes mate yes i like to hear that i love lily white thank you very much happy to have you here i do i do need to know um what roast you had we had we had a beef stew earlier which was was very good it was very very good not not roast but still a hearty sunday meal um a nice walk and then a beef stew.
28:48Good. Good stuff. Good Sunday. Alan and Leslie, have we been reborn as Conte's second half team again? Yeah. Maybe. Do you know what I mean? That's, yeah. It's the sort of thing he's trying to ape, isn't it? It's the sort of thing he's trying to mimic here, Thomas Frank. Phil Mayo says, imagine what Xavi can do with a proper manager. these are not bad players at all but they're mired in the imagination of a man with the breath of thought of a sack of hammers um that's good yeah i don't think they're all bad players i don't think they're all good players but i don't think they're all bad players um i was debating debating debating get a load of yourself he said one thing I said the other thing with somebody on Twitter who felt that the squad is no better than a 15th place finish I said I didn't necessarily agree with that um and I think the only thing and this was my point is like I do think Frank is not using it very well but again the only slight to be fair to him thing I would give Thomas Frank is that he doesn't have James Madison he doesn't have Dejan Kulusevsky and he hasn't had Dominic Solanke for like half a season and we've seen how good and how much of an impact Solanke has had since he's come come back into the mix you know
30:31I love Lily White also says flour on the tatties can't go rock here boil them a bit, bash them up in the colander get a bit of flour on it get them in the oil love it
30:49K9 McGurn1 says Slanky raises our performance floor so much yeah it does it's really like him on an individual basis is really really good actually way way better than i give him credit for um a lot of the time and also just his benefit to the system and just overall the way we play i'm not saying i like the way we play i'm not saying i like thomas frank's system or anything like that but simply the way he set us up the way he wants to knock the ball about the type of chances he wants to create undoubtedly having dominic celanke up the top just helps it helps it come to you know to fruition at this point i'm going to be that annoying beg and say if you are watching on youtube just drop us a like drop us a like please um there's a lot more of you watching than there are likes right now so please do that also if you are listening and you don't like adverts you can get every episode of rule the roost ad free on patreon patreon.com slash RTR pod where you'll also find extra pod so there's a supporter tier and then there's the inner sanctum tier where you get extra pods and stuff like that but if you want ad-free pods patreon.com slash RTR pod like subscribe leave ratings reviews all that type of thing back on with the show um Ridley says the first girl was damned by slow motion the super Todd says Polina is like a brick wall but only if brick walls could fly into tackles Stel Morrison says I've not had Frank for months but you cannot mitigate the injury list put Van de Ven and Romero back in at Kulisevsky Kudus Madison and it's a completely different team that's you know it's true like you say Stel I don't like Thomas Frank.
32:49I don't like what he's doing. I don't like the football. But, but, you know, it would be folly to ignore the injury list and the significance of the injuries. Yeah. Wallach says, if the scum win the league, I hope it's by more than a couple of points.
33:18forget Arsenal, forget City.
33:22Ridley also says, Haaland is the least satisfying player to watch. Do you know what, I'll be honest, I never used to mind seeing, you know, when he had loads of time and space, and you'd see him just absolutely barnstorm the Bundesliga, when you saw all those kind of compilations come over, when he was at Dortmund, and he was just smacking the ball from everywhere. you would see him like literally run through defenses like he was do you know what I mean like it was you know like when you when you get those like football games back in the day that weren't actually supposed to be realistic simulators usually made by Sega or something like that and like the footballers would get like power up so they would have like super running or like a super shot that's like a comet or something like that and break through the net Harland kind of had that vibe in the in the Bundesliga I'm pretty sure people made like anime rotoscopes of him running through defenses and kicking the ball and all that type of stuff I did find him quite fun in that instance since he's come to the Premier League it's just not been that fun really because he's not going to get that you know he is huge he's he's a physical specimen he's like van der ven right he's a massive athlete huge unit um but he isn't going to get that same time and space like he used to get in the bundesliga and yeah he scores a hat for here don't get me wrong but it's quite a lot of scrubbing isn't it it's quite a lot of like agricultural kind of get into the box get a foot in which you need to have but like you say it's not it's not that pleasant to watch is it and that's that's back to the initial point robert glenworth says it's quite funny being peps kryptonite isn't it it is it's hilarious and it's bizarre i can't i can't make sense of it for a second i genuinely cannot and i know we joke i did um i always go on blue moon podcast before we play city it's you know man city podcast run by David Mooney, really good guy.
35:30I've chatted to him for years now, going on the pod and stuff. And, you know, I don't want to be that obnoxious opposition fan that comes on and is like, we beat you all the time. But I can't, you know, I said to him before this one, I was like, we're not very good. We're really quite bad, actually. We've been doing okay in the Champions League, but lost to West Ham, you know, got battered by Forrest not so long ago, drew with Sunderland. all that type of stuff so every everything every every logical pathway in my head should tell me that you Manchester City vying for the title uh wealth of great players should come to our place and smash us to pieces but for whatever reason I just don't think that you will I I actually thought we were going to beat them um because we just we've done it so many times we've done it so many times and I can't make sense of it I can't make sense of how we do it I don't think they can I don't think pep can but we do it and we've sort of half done it again it's really bizarre it's really bizarre um it just kind of it does it does show you doesn't it that sort of the the how much i don't know a mentality type thing can because i don't think it's so much a mentality but when there's a certain script that's put forwards about certain games right spurs always lose at bridge thus we usually do spurs always lose at anfield thus we usually do um and i think there's plenty of times when we've lost at anfield or at stanford bridge when you know i don't think they've been a miles better side than we are or anything like that and i just think constantly like the noise around this fixture is always spurs can spurs can get something here you don't you know you don't really know what that does for a player on a subconscious level i've always put this forwards about like Spurs failing to get sort of trophies and stuff over the line in the past years this is prior to Bilbao um and probably you know I had a little pop at him earlier but a big thing that Ange probably did in the in the cup competition was truly allow these players to believe that they could win something not listen to the noise that constantly said Spurs have never won a trophy Spurs don't win at this big a case because that's it was in overdrive wasn't it before the before the Europa League final Tottenham don't beat Manchester United in a fixture like this Carragher was saying it Scholes was saying it Rooney was saying it Neville was saying it all of them were saying it before this there is not a chance Tottenham beat Manchester United in a European Cup final you know Europa League but you know I'm saying our European trophy final not a chance zero chance and that's because that's the stuff that gets propagated isn't it that's the script that's the script that's put forward um but somebody like ang wasn't having that was he he wasn't having that for a second because he didn't come here he didn't care about what manchester united thought he didn't care about what gary neville thought his thing was i win something in my second season and i can win something with this lot and he made them believe in that um so you know pochettino did a lot of that as well before you know obviously we didn't actually win anything but we came mightily close to winning a lot of really big things under the closest you know we ever have done in my life but still there we go um robert glenworth says the leadership xavi shows on the ball dragging us forwards is exceptional leadership comes in many forms um he is uh yeah that's good it's good do you know what you know the other thing that's funny about xavi is a lot of people go on about like they did before we signed him he's small or he's going to struggle in the pro he's he's he's kind of got that modrici thing about him where yeah he's a little lad but he's quite he's a bit of a unit actually he's got that sort of low center of gravity where he's actually quite stocky he's got quite like a stocky frame sort of big legs and he puts himself about a bit you know i think he does he gets stuck in um um quite a lot he's you know he's he's quite a little uh you know ruffauser that's my pg version um for youtube but yeah he's he's a little ruffauser and he's really good i do really like him i do really like him actually pirate dread roberts says that romero um it's apparently got a bit of sickness nothing serious it's good fingers crossed though Ricochet Pig also says praying for a great deadline day signing but feel it's unlikely yeah I don't know

40:19I hope I don't even know who it could be I hope they can pull something out of the bag it seems like the Andy Robertson thing's dead doesn't it you know I don't think that's happening
40:32um Curtis Jones is still he's been who's he been linked with he got linked with somebody like AC Milan I think it is genuinely speaking I think I think AC Milan were in for him um and I couldn't I couldn't resent him if he took that option to be fair I love the I like I love it I love it when English players go abroad or British players go abroad because I think it's quite classed what McTominay's doing at Napoli and stuff. I think it's good when more British players go abroad. And I always think this, I've spoken about it on here before, but that idea of like, if you were a League One footballer or something here, just go play in the Serie B for a bit.
41:13Do you know what I mean? Go play for like Como or something. Go live around Lake Como and just play a trade in the Serie B. Eat nice tomatoes for a few years. You know, do it.

43:11Pirate Dred Roberts says, unbelievable. After all the nonsense people spoke this summer, We basically ended the game with Dragosin and Gray as a centre-back pairing. Piss-poor management, yeah.
43:27Richard Hanscom says, lads at City, coys, yeah.
43:36Stel Morrison says, a tenuous connection to Spurs, but did you hear Neville's, ooh, co-coms yesterday to Rocket Stamford Bridge? Yeah, he loves it, doesn't he? Oh, he's been naughty there. Oh, what a naughty boy. He's done at any time. Christian Romero breathes, colon, Gary Neville. Oh, Christian Romero's got to be watching himself there.
44:04A little bit scouser. Tyson Malone says, No idea how people don't rate Solanke. He won't put up Kane goal numbers, but he's incredibly well-rounded. Him coming back has transformed the way we're able to play. and has helped Xavi as well. Yeah, don't disagree. I probably, I say I don't disagree now, but I really feel it now. You feel the impact of having him back. I have always rated him to a degree, but perhaps, no, not perhaps, definitely haven't been as positive as I probably should have been about him. He does seem like a really good player, doesn't he? I think it's fair to say that. Oh, here we go.
44:50Dayspur says, Bissouma is a bad player. How many times has he done the exact same thing for the first goal? Yeah. And then I'm always really torn on Bissouma, mate. Like, I do think there's a hell of a lot of talent there.
45:06I'll be honest. I haven't seen exactly what it is, but I'm guessing he's let his man go or something like that. He's sort of always had a bit of a habit of that. But we need him at the moment. We do. We need... Because the thing about Basuma is he's good on the ball. He is good on the ball. He's talented. He's probably the most press-resistant midfielder we've got. He's got a good eye for a pass. I think he's really technically accomplished on the ball. I actually think Bersouma has the ability to be a really, really good player. If he can stay focused, stay fit. Yeah, I really rate him, mate, I've got to say.
45:58De Spurs also says Frank got it as wrong as you could get it and didn't make any changes until the half. All he had to do was move Pelini to midfield. FFS yeah yeah you know again like we say it's reactive we've played reactively since we've gone two goals down and looked like we were going to concede a lot more goals but you know we'll talk about that another day
46:25I don't believe what it says Chris Sutton has been insufferable on 5 Live he's asked Spurs fans to call in and apologise
46:34it's almost it's almost it's almost like I love Lily White. He wants, it's almost like he wants people to call in, isn't it? That's all I'm saying, you know? Yeah, I know he is, he does often lead the charge on why, why, why do you think, why do you think you should, you know, be any better than you are kind of stuff. And I'm always a bit like, come on, mate, really please. I've done it a couple of times, five live with him on he's actually always been all right you know when it's been uh let's get the let's get the pleb fan in to come and talk to the you know the actual the pros sort of thing and whenever i've when i've when i've gone on there he's he's actually always been all right to me there was one a few weeks back when they asked do you want to come on and basically argue with the panel as to what i think they've particularly said like chris do you want to argue as to why frank should be sacked and i just thought i know i'm all right i don't you know um i i i'm not i'm not going on like national radio to be like the mouth breather that is gonna be made to sort of look silly by people have played the game hashtag played the game do you know what i mean like it's not it's not an even playing field that kind of thing um because the the problem is the pros when they when they have an opinion on stuff they are always going to default back to saying you don't understand what it's like you don't know how it works and you can't really argue even though even though i think everybody is aware of the fact that like you're playing a sort of ace card that you can't exactly prove but you can't exactly disapprove right it's one of those things isn't it i i always feel but you know i can't sit here in my back room with my little kind of you know bedroom setup and argue with somebody that's smashed in goals in the f spl and in the premier league um do you ever did he win a premier league Chelsea no i think it was different era but still you know i'm saying
48:54um Callum says Solanke has said he's rolled his ankle and he should be fine see you next season yeah it oh I don't really want to think about that do you know what I mean because we've seen we've seen we've seen what it is right we've seen the effect he has on the team. We can't have him out again. Like, he can't just be two games and that's it, is it?
49:39I love Lily White says, Regarding the roast, my missus is veggies, so it was a corn joint. I know, I know. Poor form, but the veggies were on point and I did pigs in blankets with a caramelised onion gravy to give it that edge. Fine, no, I'm going to out myself as a bit of a flexitarian. I wasn't, when I was a kid, I wasn't a massive meat eater, if I'm honest. I didn't like it. I always felt bad for the animals. There you go. There you go. Yeah, I'm not afraid to say that in front of the lads, right? No toxic masculinity here, yeah? I'm not afraid to tell you I've got feelings. I do eat meat now but I don't eat tons of the stuff but I do enjoy it I've got to say but yeah you know I've had a corn roast before all good mate but they do come in these is it one of those ones that's like packed is it one of those corn roasts that comes in like one of those plastic sausage things that you have to take off that looks like we looked after this dog before and the owners feed it with like this like raw food stuff which is like organs and all this sort of thing that is basically processed and put into like a pate and squeezed into these sausages.
50:56But I'm sure it's very, very good for the dog. Don't get me wrong. Like I'm not, but it stinks. It absolutely stinks. It's just organs and, oh mate, awful.
51:11The Duty says, Akliush. Are we linked? I don't know. I know we're sort of linked in our minds. We want him to come, don't we? But, yeah, I don't know. Ridley says, Bellingham out for a month. Stefan Marcotti says, Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal. Okay.
51:39John W912 says, a few Scottish players doing well. Lewis Ferguson at Bologna. Lennon Miller at Udinese. Josh Doig at Susulo. Look at that. Love it. Tortard says, love the show. Couldn't watch the game. Any green shoots? I'd have taken 2-2 before the game. Must be some credit there. Green shoots are, we look way better with Dominic Solanke. Way, way better with Dominic Solanke. And we showed some fight. We showed some desire. Xavi Simmons looks like he's settling into things. Looks like he really, really benefits from having Dominic Solanke ahead of him. So, look, you know, it's not all doom and gloom.
52:21I don't really attribute much, if anything at all, to Thomas Frank for those green shoots. But they are there. And I think it's worth embracing those, isn't it? Brian Park says, Xavi reminds me of Eden Hazard with his low centre of gravity and ability to retain the ball. I'd like to see him sort of shoot a lot more like Eden Hazard used to. But yeah, you know, I know what you mean. Bethnal Green Bear says stink ball to chaos ball is unsustainable. Yes, I think that's the ultimate point, isn't it? Flipping between the two. We want something nice and down the middle like Maurizio Pochettino used to be.
53:06Maurizio Pochettino embraced the right amount of both, I think. And we were really, really good, weren't we? So, you know, Diego Simeone's leaving. No, I couldn't do Simeone ball here, to be honest. Like, can you imagine Simeone ball? It would be horrific, horrific. But it'd be interesting to see where he goes if anybody fancies kind of giving him a go in the Premier League because he's apparently leaving Atleti at the end of the season. So I don't know if he's got anything else lined up or whatever, if he just wants to have a break, but I'm sure there are plenty of Premier League clubs. Chelsea, you could see Chelsea giving someone like Simeone a crack, couldn't you?
53:48But Rossini seems to actually be doing all right so far. But we'll see. Yeah. All in all, good night for Spurs. Look, we've got to concentrate on Spurs. we've got to concentrate on pulling away from those bottom places in the Premier League. Injuries keep growing. Can't have it. Can't have it. Can't have Spurs going down. Let Arsenal do what Arsenal are going to do. Whatever. Thanks everybody for the support. If you are watching on YouTube, please drop it a like. Please consider subscribing. I tiptoed over the 4 ,000 subscribers mark the other day. Woohoo! Well done. Look at that. aren't I brilliant um watch out the overlap here I come imagine me on that I'm not saying I'm above it I'm not I'm not I'm not doing that I would be useless at doing that type of thing absolutely useless like hats off I say it I've said it before hats off to Flav that he can do that stuff because I can't and Ben Bowman obviously um was on their Saturday social wasn't he this week so well done lads keep smashing it um yeah if you're listening rating review all that type of thing Patreon blah blah blah blah blah thanks for tuning in come on you Spurs up the Spurs it's all right isn't it it's all right isn't it plain all right I think that's that's that's the the moral of this story.

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is officially a social experiment... with about five fit players at our disposal, we still somehow managed to avert disaster at home to Man City in a game that at half time looked like it was set up to be a cricket score... Yes, it may have given Arsenal a slightly advantage, but this is about Spurs getting precious points.
