In short
A live, angry post-match reaction to Tottenham Hotspur losing 2-3 at home to Aston Villa. The host argues the result reflects deeper problems: poor squad building, weak attacking threat, defensive errors, and a culture of lowered expectations. He rejects “wait for it to click” takes and says Spurs are in relegation-form territory early in the season.
Guest backgrounds
No guests appear in the transcript. It’s a solo host episode with listener comments read aloud.
Key claims
- Conceding three at home to a “terrible” Villa side shows Spurs are “deeply wrong.”
- Goalkeeper Kinsky is not Premier League level; Bentancur is a liability in midfield balance.
- De Zerbi’s tactics are flawed (e.g., Fernandes misused as a “number 10”).
- Spurs failed to replace Pedro Porro properly and didn’t address squad depth.
- Richarlison was mishandled; Solanke is ineffective and not producing “proper goals.”
Notable examples
- Kinsky blamed for Nicholas Jackson’s goal.
- Solanke not tapping in after a Kudus disallowed/offside-related chance.
- Archie Gray used as a fullback; host says he’s not suited.

1:55Thank you.
2:37No. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. Sorry, not today. Not today. I'm not hearing it. I'm not having the... I don't care if it's 3-2. for my mind we conceded three girls at home to an awful Aston Villa side two consolation goals at the end mean nothing it's not some gotcha about Spurs's gradual progress or anything like that I'm not here to listen to you know any of the stuff about me apparently being negative or something like that look you know i'm a human being i'm a spurs fan i'm recording this straight after a game and i'm annoyed and i'm annoyed and if you want maybe a more rational or whatever karma take go listen to one in the week or listen to somebody else's podcast you know like if you I know it's very like, if you don't, if you're offended, then do one.
3:47If you don't like it, but that's kind of how I feel today. Like if you don't like it, if you want to listen to somebody talk about how there's positives down the line and our tactical trends will indicate that in half a season's time, we might be an all right side. You're not going to find that here today. you're going to find somebody that is very annoyed and is sick to death of watching Tottenham do this like I don't know if you feel like me but I am personally tired of this now I'm tired of clutching at straws and trying to derive some sort of positive from yet another abject performance from Tottenham Hotspur.
4:32But we did all right against Liverpool in the week, I hear you say, Mr. Strawman. Did we? I mean, De Zerbe kind of called it himself. It looked like we could play a bit more positively because Liverpool didn't play in a low block. De Zerbe literally said that before the game. He said that in his own press conference when he was asked, like, you know, why do you think you played better here at Anfield versus in the Premier League? He said it pre this game. And he said, because they let us play.
5:08We can see, we can see like, it's not just losing at home again, right? It's not just conceding three goals and three fairly poor goals. I mean, Buendiaz was okay. Like, you know, it was a tough one. If I was being really, really out of order, I would say that, you know, Kinski should have done better. I mean, Kinski definitely should have done better for Nicholas Jackson's goal. There's no denying that. And I'm sorry, he should have done. I don't think he's up to it. I've said this. I went early on this. I said this after a couple of games. But this is based on the end of last season. This is based on the fact that he didn't really face any shots at the tail end of last season.
6:01And every time he was actually called into doing something, yes, his character to come back from the Atletico Madrid game and everything like that was stupendous. But I'm sorry. I look at Kinski and he is not good enough. He is a backup goalkeeper. He's a young goalkeeper. Maybe in time he will be good enough. He is not good enough. I don't think there are... I basically don't think there's any other Premier League team that would start him. That's my feeling on it. I don't think he's good enough. I don't think he has enough experience. And I think it shows.
6:35I think Bentancur, if I'm honest, is a net bad on the team. I know he's been like our best player so far this season. We've got to play Fernandes and Tonali in the middle. Fernandes and Tonali have to play in the middle. De Zerbi's got to stop messing around with this. Fernandes is not number 10. Fernandes looks like he's already getting frustrated playing for Tottenham. Fernandes is already looking like he wants to speak to his agent and say that he wants to leave. I think he's a good player, but I think he already looks annoyed. I think, you know, something is not quite right there, in my opinion, with that and what's going on.
7:11Sticking him as this sort of number 10 because De Zerbe sort of has this idea that he can play there. I don't think he can. I think he's wasted there. dropping back i just i don't think ben tenker does enough people don't like tonali i know a lot of people are going to say it should be tonali tonali's a 100 million pound signing that the manager likes you just have to deal with the reality of the situation he is not going to be dropped he is not going to be jettisoned from the team he is going to be starting every time he's available right that's the kind of that's what you have to deal in you have to deal in like i say the reality of the situation, which is that.
7:50De Zerbi wanted him, De Zerbi bought him. We've spent loads of money on him. I don't think him and Ben Tanker can play alongside one another. I think they essentially do the same thing in different ways, but I think they both fulfill the same sort of function. You have to have Fernandes next to him and whatever. play if if marmouche isn't viable as a number 10 play kudus there if this is if madison or whoever else isn't available to play there hopefully kulisewski will be after the international break you know kulisewski who i dare to have my concerns about and his fitness and stuff apparently that you know means i'm that means i'm starving his children according to a bizarre take i received on YouTube, but whatever, I shouldn't be so rattled by people saying stuff to me.
8:41It's just a bit annoying. This is a bit annoying when people say silly things like that. Today is not good. I'm worried. I'm worried. We haven't won a game this season, barring those two late goals that really came against, like I say, a terrible Aston Villa team completely when the game was done. We haven't scored a proper goal. I know people are going to say that's like me being selective, but I think if you are entering this into good faith, you will know what I'm saying when I say we haven't scored a proper goal. We haven't gone ahead in a game, right? We haven't even looked like we're going to bother anybody at all.
9:29I just don't get it. I don't get it. I don't get what's going on at the club. I mean I do to a degree I do like what is going on at the club is as I said on Twitter years of neglect by Daniel Levy toward the footballing operation has caught up with us Daniel Levy left a world class business attached to an awful footballing outfit the footballing operation was falling to pieces by the end of Levy's watch the hubris man the hubris some of those transfer windows we had under him three transfer windows without signing a single player it's disgusting it's disgusting the amount we coasted on Kane and Son we haven't got anything close to that now it's light years away from us
10:28and it's all caught up with us and we've got hope that Roberto De Zerbe can turn the tide on this and push Spurs into something that resembles more of a functioning football outfit if he changes the mindset or whatever the mentality at the club as we've been hearing good fingers crossed let's hope so but there's a part of me that starts to worry that the damage has been done that there's something there, there's something there, there's some sort of rot there. Whatever it is, do players just come here and think that, oh, it's an easy ride now. I've done it. I'm at Tottenham. You know, I don't need to bother.
11:10Do they come to Spurs and think, well, you know, we don't actually win at Stamford Bridge. We don't win at Anfield. So, you know, as long as we have a couple of shots on target or whatever, then it'll be all right. People will be happy. We go out in the League Cup, we lose 3-1, but you know, we had some nice little passages of play and we scored a goal. So that's all right. And I know this is sort of veering a little bit into blaming the fans type thing, which I don't, I've never really bought and it irritates me, but it equally irritates me to see, and I know people want to enjoy their club. I know people want to enjoy football, right?
11:50But it equally irritates me this level of gaslighting that always goes on when you are told no actually it's really really good and it's really really encouraging despite the fact we just show up and we just were like yeah we lose at Anfield but whatever we passed it around a bit so that's okay it doesn't matter that we lost again doesn't matter that we're out of another cup competition to like Liverpool's 1.5 string I don't think it was I've seen some people say it was their second string i don't think it is more like a 1.5 string you know the same sort of narratives the same kind of just lack of expectation or whatever or the same at least diminished expectations well you know it doesn't matter we don't why don't we why don't we ever win at anfield why do we seldom ever win at stanford but the only time and yeah whatever i don't care i'm going to talk about them again the only time for about five fucking minutes when it looked like we were going to be all right was under pochettino he's the only he's the only manager in my entire lifetime that has just torn up what the you know supposed rules are for top them and just approached it properly and you know maybe deserve you'll be doing that i don't want to sort of bring him into question too much right now but there's something weird going on right there's something weird going on with these players and stuff are they not that good that's what some people are saying are they annoyed you know like he's fallen out of richarlison a big sort of favorite in the dressing room he's fallen out with danso or whatever you know maybe not fallen out with but gotten rid of danso who is again another big voice in the dressing room has he done too much too soon you know will it pay dividends in the end who knows hopefully i'm sort of talking about this cultural rot and how it needs to be stopped maybe that's literally what he's doing and there is going to be this rocky patch but there's rocky patches and there's rocky patches and right now again we're in relegation form and the thing that worries me about this is there's a lot of people who are very very happy to write off write off these first five games write them off it doesn't matter because i've seen some i've seen some passages of play that would indicate give it time and we'll be good you don't like you don't have time in the premier league you don't have time anymore like i don't i don't know how many more times i need to keep going on about this but like open your eyes like open your eyes to the amount of quality and how many good teams there are in the premier league now you don't you don't just have this like magic like ability to just jettison off five ten games in a season and be like that's all right we won't get relegated because i say so because i say that like well actually we are in relegation form again end.
14:51And it's five games into a season. Yes, I know. But this is a terrible five games into a season. Before the season even kicks off, soccer fans are already making predictions. Who wins the league? Who qualifies for Europe? And who's lifting the trophy at season's end? On Calci, America's number one prediction market platform, you're trading against peers in a live market, meaning there's no house. And as the probability changes, you can buy in and out of your position. For a limited time, download the Calci app and use code CUP26 to get$10 when you trade 10. K-A-L-S-H-I, Calci. 15:2518 plus only restrictions and eligibility requirements apply. Event contract trading involves risk and may not be suitable for all investors. Prices, values, and available markets may differ from those mentioned. For more information, see calci.com slash regulatory.
15:40You know, we're in any other circumstance, right? And I'm not advocating for this, but I'm just, I'm simply saying, had any other manager started this way, and it wasn't a manager that just saved us from relegation, it wasn't a manager that had just been given 350 million or whatever it was in a summer, and one of the hugest contracts in world football, right? If it was any other manager at this point, people would be saying, how many games does he have left? and i don't i want to re-emphasize now i don't think that should be a genuine point of discussion right now i don't but i'm simply saying you cannot just write off form like this you cannot just write off performances like this you can't you just can't i mean you can do whatever you want like that's like you can you literally can what i'm saying is when you're coming at me and saying this is negative or not just me when you're coming to anybody and saying it's negative and it's knee jack it's not it's not negative this is not normal this is not normal form again if we're supposed to be playing this badly again third year in a trot where it just looks like we can't even buy a win i'm sorry there is there is just there's something deeply deeply wrong at the football club.
17:02Pedro Porro has gone off again and we bring on Archie Gray again and people are going to say, oh, Archie Gray did a good job. He is not suited to that position. And I like Archie Gray. I have to say this every single time. I like Archie Gray. I think he's a great young player with a great future ahead of him, right? However, he is not that tenacious attacking fullback that we need in a system like this. And I know, I know Jed Spence has not played a minute for Inter Milan, but it doesn't remove the fact that we sold him and did not replace him. We did not buy any backup for Pedro Porro. That is poor, that is shocking squad building.
17:43That is shocking. That was scrambling on the last day of the transfer window to bring Mudrick in. Again, a player, a signing that I've criticised and I've had pelters for. It's not serious decision making falling out of Richarlison all publicly and I know he has his problems and I know he's not Harry Kane I know he's not a world-class striker but he still scores goals he can still be dangerous in the box the goal that got disallowed Kudas's goal today ask yourself regardless of Robertson being offside when that cross goes into the box why is Solanke not tapping that home? Why is Solanke falling on his arse and relying on Kudus to be able to go in and tap one in?
18:42And that's the striker we're going into a season with. I'm not getting into the Will Lanxia stuff because I think that's there's a fair amount of revisionism there but you look at him score goal after goal after goal and think, you know, but still,
19:00Richarlison, Richarlison is more pertinent one here, right? Why is the manager falling out with him to the degree? And Richarlison might be being a pain in the ass. I understand that. He's not free from this. And as I've said, I'm tired of him and I'm irritated by his antics, but I'm simply talking about the function that he performs within the team. if you don't want him anymore make sure you can replace it but we didn't so it's all willing to have these principled stances if they don't want to be here i'm going to get rid of them great fine but make sure you can replace them even bring in some clogger for a bit you know i don't know who the equivalent of a ricky lambert is but bring in somebody like that towards you look It was probably Mateta at Palace, right?
19:47Palace, they would have probably wanted 30, 50 mil. Has he got a year left on his contract or something? 30, 50 mil, something like that. I don't know, whatever. You chuck some money at them in the last week of the transfer window and you bring him in. They're just like, you can't just get rid of players like this and leave yourself so short and just say, well, it will be fine because maybe you can deal with what you've got in front of your eyes, which is Tottenham keep losing games or at least not looking remotely threatening in games, aside from tiny little patches. And it just isn't good enough.
20:33It isn't good enough. I'm just sick of it. I really, really, really am sick of it. I'm tired of watching this same performance time after time after time after time and being told by people, no, actually you're wrong. Because I had that all the way through last season, being called an idiot, being called this, being called reactionary, being called ninja. And he took us to the last day of the season to stay up. And I'm not saying, I'm not nailing my colours to the mast and saying that's going to be the case this year. nor am i saying that my opinion is gospel all i'm saying is if you have a difference of opinion that's fine but don't just don't do the intellectual grandstanding stuff it's really irksome this whole kind of like shruggy and there's a few of them there's a few podcasters that like to do that that like to kind of make their name in like doing some pithy video sticking it out on twitter doing a load of like sub calling out of people like me or whoever else and I you know who you are and whatever I'm not going to get into tit for tat and stuff right but there will be these pithy kind of people that will do their down the camera thing that will act like all is fine and anybody else who doesn't feel that is some kind of you know intellectual incompetent versus their grandiose upon the high opinion fine you feel that way and the rest of us can be annoyed at the fact that spurs don't look at all threatening in any games are largely useless off the back of two 17th place finishes and look like they're carrying on that trend again this year but no no don't be frustrated about it you're a better fan you're a better fan Tottenham till you die no it won't be for what it won't be Tottenham until I die no no no it won't be no because I'm because I'm annoyed that Tottenham have lost the game that that means you're not actually a fan apparently having an emotional reaction to your football club being bad means that you are less of a fan there's some interesting logic that
22:53makes sense of it makes sense of it I I realize this is this is you know what this is probably as far as these go i reckon this is my most epic head loss on one of these this is proper head this isn't on jupiter this is head over on alpha centauri right this is yeah oh alpha centauri live long and prosper cling on brethren what a sad mess what a sad little man shouting about football shouting about football the world's falling to pieces 10 10 chance that ai wipes us out in the next few years according to experts and here i am here i am
23:47into a podcast about tottenham just like a blancmange wobbling on a plate gelatinous sort of slapping and squelching noises into a microphone it's about that's about as like worthwhile as my indentation upon upon this planet is really with this isn't it um oh poor me oh poor me um Matt in Oz Coy says soul destroying. Tack Coy says Spurs does crazy things to people, players as well, it seems. Mr. Stephen Stotch says, I think the credit in the bank has run out now. They look unfit, uncoached, and all of his signings have been a mess. Get rid of, yes, he's done it. He's gone early. Get rid over this break and bring in Potch or how you had me in the first half mate that second do you know what I mean the second bit let's let's calm that one down a bit bloke's been a calamity um
25:01grammar smosh says time for all the hot takes jack up I think I've given you a few haven't I thus far um max trell vest true true of us sorry says van hecker makes fazio look good bloody hell um sp ranette says of course fuscovich is going to look mint against arsenal to make things worse
25:30yeah jack huntley says i feel sick after that result why even bother to do so many things right if it just ends the same way uh steve h has made a joke that i don't know so i'm not going to repeat it in case it's something bad he says the only positive is um i'm in bed before midnight as it was an early game not sure if the international break is good or bad for us yeah that's interesting in that i'm not sure if it's good or bad for us either let's go with good there you go there you go there's some positivity for you palindrome pirate says villa were terrible we were worse jack underhill says if we don't score in the first 20 minutes and we look okay we just lose cool do you know i mean like that's that's kind of the point i'm making but we look good for a bit it's not a gotcha do you know i mean i'm not saying that's what you're doing mate like like this is kind of what people say how could you be annoyed about that you know we look good for a little spell grow up chief factor says langer and vin i should go first how can how can there be any faith in their decision making at this point buckles the mind big y says not having any of these players and first crack i have on rdz sick of this john benfield says we can pick and choose all the positives we like but a simple thing is points matter and we're not getting any i'm not sure i've seen a team more clueless going forwards it's just terrible in it mate like it's terrible
27:17jan m says i really don't think i can do this anymore i've had it do you know i mean no jan like and this is this is like all like my various different whatsapps with like different Spurs fans from different parts of my life are all saying the same thing. I just, I can't do this anymore. I can't keep watching this same performance. Like just, just be relegated and whatever. We can make sense of our life in the championship or be at least decent, half decent again. Like this, this, this, this like state of just not knowing i mean maybe maybe we do know maybe we do know and we just don't want to face it maybe that's the problem because i'm always saying we don't know if we're actually good or actually bad i think there's enough evidence to say we're just bad we're just a bad team and as much as i got enjoyed about excited about the idea of us signing savio tonali players like this there's something to be said for the fact that Spurs were good when we would sign players who were less heard of when it felt like you know because we sort of talk about Spurs as being abject in terms of transfers we saw a lot of good players down the years Modric, Bale, Sonny, Berbatov not to even mention like you know the likes of you like Huddlestones, Lennons, Dawson who I know there were mixed opinions on but still was a good player do you know what I mean like and then we would supplement that at times with a robbie keen or a jermaine defoe somebody like that who was a well-known premier league proven player or whatever right what god what i'd do for a jermaine defoe or robbie keen right now do you know what i mean but the point the point i'm trying to make is that like we're now sort of we've got to this point where we built this stadium so it's like well we can't operate like brentford or brighton or Bournemouth we can't operate like them because we're sort of a step above them now so we are like this and I sort of rallied against that suggestion at this in the summer and it annoyed me probably because I felt like there was some truth to it where we operate like a pound landman united or Chelsea or something like that I mean Robertson I'm sorry like in terms of experience and I'm not just basing this entirely on him and i think it was messing up people say he's just trying to prevent a corner he was messing up he should have more awareness than he did for that first goal for villa robertson was awful today and this this is a player that like we're signing for experience right you can get on board with it when people are saying no don't do this this is not the sort of thing spurs should be doing anymore when you're like well no he's an experienced head he's an experience heading to dressing room all this he was abysmal today abysmal and so it doesn't doesn't make us it strengthens that case for maybe we need to take a step back from all of this forget about the stadium forget about where we play forget about the sort of image we had a few years ago when we had Kane and Son literally Kane and Son two of the greatest players of all time playing for us at the same time two of the greatest premier league footballers of all time playing for us right forget whatever inflated image we had whilst they were playing for us right where we are right now is in we're in the gong pit right you know what gong is anyone up on their medieval literature their medieval law look at look at look at a gong farmer g-o-n-g gong farmer all right if you think your job's bad right but we're in the gong pit right now and there's that part of me that's like we got to lift ourselves out of this and maybe maybe do you know what maybe we do need to take a couple of years of being irrelevant but at least i'd rather be irrelevant and just like winning a game like today one nil or something being a team that just it's difficult to beat at home does all right on the road and we just gradually build from that again because this kind of trying to go out and buy players to make us better immediately i just it just it just doesn't seem to work it doesn't seem to work and as i say when we're at our best is when we were signing all of these players making smart signings as they were back then to build some sort of a squad, to build some sort of an identity.
32:08There is nothing about this team still, and it will take time because they are mostly all new players, but there's nobody there that's Tottenham. There just isn't, I'm sorry. There's nobody there that I look at and I'm like, he's Spurs. Makes me happy to watch him play because he feels like he's proper Tottenham.
32:34there's nothing
32:44I just I think we're in real trouble I think we're in real trouble and we're especially in trouble with the money we've spent this summer if something like relegation happened you know you're in serious serious trouble but let's there's a long way to go right
33:08who is it that just said Savio is as bad as tell sorry the comments have comments have just refreshed so I've got to go through it
33:28sorry I'm just scrolling up through the comments because it does this thing. YouTube does this irritating thing where I'm trying to scroll through them and then what it does is refreshes and pushes you right to the bottom, to the bottom, back in the gong pit.
33:48Sorry, sorry, sorry. I know this is not good. Right, yeah, here we go. SPRnet says, JP cannot defend and Savio is another tell. um hacker cps says we play too wide and we lack a nine who can organize the attack deserve he needs to get the solution faster this is so shit jack underhill says um poro getting injured and robertson having a generational whiffer i miss jed jack kenny says all pot chin aren't we um james reed says created a world-class venue to play court jester every week have our pants pulled down every other week and have opposition players break dance in front of our painfully loyal fans I've had enough I hate the stadium I'm sorry I hate it I've said it before and I'll say it again I wish we could have done like Liverpool have done with Anfield with White Hart Lane just modernize the east and west stands make them a bit bigger build bring the capacity up to 45 50 thousand this sort of big willy competition we got into with the emirates or whoever 66 000 it's all bells and whistles it's all wonderful it's not i i i just i seldom ever enjoy it when i go there i'm sorry i think the atmosphere whiffs there and i'm not this isn't any fault of the fans that go there the club doesn't support a good atmosphere they just don't they don't listen to people return to the shelf all that lot who have campaigned and tried for years i hate it and i think it plays a big part as to what we see now jonas milner says we could bring in prime ferguson guardia or bob paisley and we would break them all benedict fox says there is a bright side um we have to know slank he's not good enough could just look better savio works on the left marmuch and could just need to be it or I'm really really worried um mod bob says honestly mate I am livid darren223 says sackvin iron langer before deservey but he's on thin ice chief factor says five wins in 36 at home unbelievable john benfield says tell binned out the squad richarlison left in limbo poro out now players looked annoyed at each other finger pointing on the pitch no one playing for each other welcome in pieces says um hello mate sorry i haven't caught you live yet our linking part haircuts have grown out and the realization is that we're not as good as we thought we are yeah steve h says you're bang on jack thank you mate um a awful villa team has put three past us backup center backs and a right back have started for villa jackson killed van der ven and jp
36:48um bill argy says oh he's magic you know george farley says we look like a bunch of strangers out there no cohesion in attack ragged in defense we lack a superstar we don't get any luck we don't deserve any thank god we've got three weeks off bakubi says frank is better than this italian impueless richard james with lots of like tilted crying eyes emoji says just give it time what happened to wait for it to click i mean it was me making fun of people saying wait for it to click richard just saying so i mean maybe you're also joining in with that i don't know perhaps edward bflo says gonna lose it if i hear about green shoots even with regards to the first half we had two or three shots inside 15 yards uh created barely anything of substance until the game state allowed it noah will it says what does solanke do um hanik kateka says jack forget about spurs what film should we watch over the international break let's say only 2026 releases do you know what hanik mate like with a small baby in the house right now that yeah obviously requires a lot of attention and stuff i haven't been getting to the cinema that much mate i haven't been watching that many films which is maybe why i'm in such a bad mood all the time you know it's a big big part of my life that i've got to say by the way for anyone watching this i've just gotten out of the shower not long ago my hair is an absolute mare i've been playing with it the whole time i've got like this big elvis quiff going on um and he's absolutely doing my head in so just letting you know i'm acutely aware of one absolute catastrophe my lid is today um but yeah films i don't know mate i i did watch on um on friday night wait thursday night i went to watch um the oasis documentary which was quite good do you know i mean but i know not a lot of people like them but i think even if you don't like them it's quite interesting um tiff what i watched obsession as well i rented obsession um like when i was at home premiere things do you know i mean it was like 15 quid but like i say you know we never get to go to cinema so i figured we would have spent that low budget film why not support it um it was good i enjoyed it i do think it's getting quite a lot of hype but whatever i'm I'm not going to piss on a film that's been made for like 700k, raking in the millions that it did.
39:37It's good. It's an enjoyable film. It's quite original. It's got some very creepy moments in it. Tiffway says, I've never believed in Solanke and I felt guilty about it at first, but not anymore. Yeah. Mark Tully, the last few games have been littered with goals scored by us when the opposition team have taken their foot off the gas. Teams know we won't threaten them so they can just relax after 15 minutes. Peter Beckway says, Kinski is not the problem. I'm not saying he's the problem, but he is one of the problems. I think to suggest that in this podcast, I have tried to reduce Tottenham's problems down to a singular point is a completely inaccurate reflection of anything I've said here, Peter.

40:19So, you know, you can shove your comment, mate. Max Truvis says, Suzuki was classed to them levels above Kinski. yep great player um benedict fox says has to be fernandez and tonali has to be um tonali tires and then bring on bent and cut yeah crazy situation we've created up messing up those two signings thus far keyboard warrior says pretty clear the latest injection of funds will be um spent on deserve his payout yeah isle of lily white says cheers as ever jack i think i hate them but i've watched Walter Mitty last night so overall I accept it we're never winning a game again I'm quite philosophical about it or thoughts yeah quite like that mate um uh we we really are the Walter Mitty of the Premier League aren't we um well he has a happy ending sort of doesn't he it's not not like that um JRC says we've lost 52 Premier League games since the nine man is just who we are mate Chelsea match under Ange which in my opinion is when the spiral started we lost 46 in the entire Poch era disgusting
41:38Stange says seems like another 17th place season would you take it right now would you take 17th place right now be honest JKR Infinite says sigh i'm starting to think people just wanted to come to us for an easy wage and low expectation kind of like the adabai all days of old i mean adabai always good for a while 77 minute kudos and savio lose the ball only madison pressed who is the priest says we don't have fight we are a team full of mercenaries madison is way off the pace and him turning his back on the buendia goal is appalling no one is fighting for their paycheck all a bunch of wage thieves
42:19mr william gardner says hear me out i think we'd look better with gallagher up front than solanke
42:27yeah like i genuinely don't think that's an appalling take um
42:35t max says it will take 30 plus years till we get another cane dash son player yeah probably you know generational players they were um 320 music vb says serious questions need to be asked this is simply not good enough slanky was garbage again tt15 anna says rdz out chris howe says only madison and bentenker look like they give half a shit yeah
43:08big wise says i hate to say it but it's time to accept we are never going to get back to that top level there's too much to overcome with the perception of the club it's difficult in it mate because you know i know somebody will say well arteta managed it with arsenal but they've always had sympathy within the press we don't anytime spurs do anything we don't spend money we get pelt us through it we do spend money we get pelt us for it we miss out on a signing like tonali we get pelt us for it we signed to nali we get pelt us for it and i know that all sounds very victimy but as everybody's always said tottenham are that team that are in terms of stature wise big enough to be relevant at most points and not big enough to be taken seriously and thus they know there's easy clicks to be had in you know always always going on about tottenham um george farley says that felt very similar to Palace and Forest games last season under Tudor.
44:04Tepid attacks with a few half chances. No real belief. Defensive mishaps, gifting goals, rubbish.
44:16Dylan McIlvenna says, Deserby out and take Solanke and Kinski with you.
44:25Runil Waslib says, Agreed on Bentancur. he only looks like the hero because we're so poor in the air as he's cleaning up but you now have a midfielder who is useless on the attack yes thank you pretorian dwarf says jack you said we haven't got anything close to kane and son mate i'd even settle for a steed male bronkins peter crouches well mate peter crouch was quality like he was i know he's like three meter peter in this kind of figure of fun and stuff peter Crouch was quality he'd be cleaning up in this team like he was he was a he was a quality quality player um I mean Defoe Defoe is one of those players people used to moan something rotten about Jermaine Defoe Spurs fans it's one of the highest scorers in the club's history like I just I'll take the phone now he still looks like he's in good nick do you know I mean what is he he's 42 43 probably like bring him back um
45:24pirate dread robert says over the last number of years this club has gotten more and more unlikable in a bad place
45:33tarik i'm gonna i'm gonna read your question i'm gonna read you a sort of statement tarik but you know it's thin ice for this stuff today all right but still maybe we need a bit more balance tarik says i understand your frustration entirely but i'd be lying if i said i didn't think we showed any progress especially at the beginning of the game it meant nothing in the end granted but still all right okay
46:00um fleischer says he needs time yeah you know i don't i don't disagree with that um
46:16Jack1906 says you're spot on there's no one from the top leading and creating an atmosphere for winning recruitment has been terrible imagine Lange is still there after two 17th place finishes Sol Voscovich and Spence
46:31the thing is i'm still i'm still trying to cling on to this um sense that vuscovich you know is is kind of a uh a highlights player or whatever right that he maybe like still will get done by people and all this type of thing um i guess we'll have to wait and see won't we i guess we'll have to wait and see how this how it plays out um because it's it ain't looking good for tottenham brev aside for the fact though if he is really good then he'll get that move and we'll get a bit meaty sell on won't we so um just cello says that was five winnable games our games get harder after the international break yeah i mean that's fair enough to say right i love lily white says people in the media are already blaming fans this time for leaving early didn't take long did it no
47:28Phil Mayo says Robertson seems like an overpay I mean he's probably on a massive salary so you know it works but it's good joking I like that type of thing
47:44Runal Wazil also says in American sports rebuilds usually are allowed to take multiple years if Roberto Dezerbi seemed like he was improving the team tactically, motivationally or in general, I'd agree, but he will sink us. Solanke was a literal ghost today, pushed around like a child, looked lost with the ball at his feet and has been played out of position constantly. Get him off, he's cooked, he's burnt. Dezerbi's stubborn shtick will sink us. I think he's keeping us in the doldrums of his attitude. I mean, who knows? enemy of craig says everyone ang brought is garbage no one talks about that he's not a manager anymore mate like i said plenty about ang at the time you know it's just he's what it is isn't it jozo bozo says to be honest it feels like this club has been stuck in quicksand for the last 2.5 years the more we fight the further we sink and eventually it's going to consume us absolutely stinking feeling it's kind of how i feel mate like it does feel stinking it in some ways like my more like you know my more sort of knee jerk brain does feel like our cards just being marked now and we escaped it last year maybe the year before but maybe this is the year we go and it all falls to pieces because i just feel like it feels like from other teams the perception is you can do top them you can beat them now there's nothing there's no fear factor about us at and you know
49:20Charlotte says head's gone, Aris gone yeah, you know me well enough to know by now
49:34Snake3516 says it's between Pochow and Slott Bakubi says Deserby is a fraud James Payton says Jack do you also feel the fish is rotting from the head I just I don't even know where it's I think it's just rotting mate like it's just I don't know I just think like for me like there will be plenty everyone will have their opinion on how and why and what is the problem at Tottenham I really do just think my main sort of thing is there's this confluence of factors which is everybody hates us because they all think we've got ideas above our station we've got this great big stadium that we built to try and announce ourselves as a top club and i feel like that does give opposition teams a bit of motivation to be like oh all right built this have you let's put that to the test do you know what i mean i think it's it's a bit of a you know it's a motivational factor i think that we just neglected the squad for ages haven't built a proper squad it just takes us it's going to take us so long um like dan kilpatrick was saying when he covered on the pod when i was ill was just saying that yeah spurs have spent a lot this season but they're just trying to catch up again now Spurs spending hundreds of millions of pounds now isn't Spurs jumping their way to the front of the queue this is Spurs joining the back of the queue again like
51:08everyone hates us we took our foot off the gas and people just aren't scared of us you know and also I just think everyone else has gotten really good in the Premier League I think everyone else has gotten really good and this is part of where we keep telling ourselves that like, but we're Tottenham, we're the grand old team to play for. We got all this history and stuff, but it means nothing, means nothing if you don't uphold certain standards.
51:42Peter Turner says, I've been saying for a couple of weeks now it's bad. You've been trying hard to stay positive, but this was always coming based on the evidence. We built a squad of players with no end product. yeah
51:57Jaznaz says make sure you smash the like button yeah cheers man yeah please do if you're watching this right now live yeah go on give us a like there's a good good number of you watching right now not as many likes as there are people watching so go on get involved drop it a like give it a follow and all that whatever
52:18Peter Dunner says don't get me started on Van Hecker not being able to defend I still I still actually think Van Hecker's alright there's been a few comments about him and I guess I've sort of like glossed over them but maybe it's because I'm too cowardly to back up my opinion I think he's alright but I do think he's alright actually Van Hecker if I'm brutally honest but you know opinions will vary
52:45Brian Park says I don't understand starting a doggy midweek instead of today three weeks off now why can't he start um
52:56ipa says my mate who's west ham is having a great time two years of this is painful yeah i mean are they though mate like i think it's a bit of copium on their part do you know i mean
53:14day spurs says watch back the goals we gave up and watch bentenker he's always at the scene of the crime and when he came off we actually look more attacking and score two goals yeah you know i said i think i low-key think bentenker is part of the problem i really do like and yeah you know i know people say he's been our best player this year but and i i think i've even said that but it's just it's got to be Tenali and Fernandes in the middle it has to be
53:55yeah I don't know I'm I've sort of yeah do you know I mean I've I've lost my lost my bottom a lot but whatever we haven't got one of these for three weeks have we so you know we'll see I don't know don't know what to say don't know what to tell you disappointing from Tottenham awful start to the season something's got to change something's got to change yeah if you have enjoyed I mean have you enjoyed this if you enjoy the pod in general maybe consider Patreon patreon.com slash rtrpod right now on patreon there's a five the five minute start of my bus journey thing is up there now little patreon preview so maybe come get come get a free trial you can watch the first five minutes to that and the whole video will be dropping hopefully soon ish just need to really crack into it um so that was good fun other pods on there preview pods or that type of thing i'm hoping to do a sort of good sort of fun video pod thing um over the international break as well maybe i'll try and do a few of them so come join patreon patreon.com rtr pods pretty sure you can get a free trial at first so join the inner sanctum all pods are free on there um if that's not up your street just leave us a rating leave us a review I can't be bothered to do this anymore Much love Come on you Spurs I guess Right
From the publisher
Spurs lose again, this is becoming a theme. Don't expect much joy or bright-siding on this one. You've been warned. Pitiful home performance to a Villa side facing their own problems at the moment. Something has to change, and quick.
