1:57Hello everyone and welcome to the Rural Roost Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2025. I'm your quiz master, Tom Foynes, and joining me for some Tottenham trivia this year, we have Rosa and Billy. Hi guys. Hello. Hello, I'm here, just unmuting on unfamiliar stuff. I was going to say, there's no quickest, fastest finger first stuff today, which might be fortunate given the reaction speed of that one. but hopefully our next two our reigning champions will be a little bit quicker the bygone ear of the buzzer app is behind us yeah a good time one day we'll come back when we can get the technology that can support it thanks for joining us guys we also have our reigning champions the dirty stinking juninos DSJs our Sean Walsh and Dan Kilpatrick, hi guys, you okay?

2:54hello, very well Merry Christmas Tom Merry Christmas, mate. Merry Christmas. I'm all right. I'm all right. Thank you. Yeah, I'm full of the festive spirit, as you can see and hear. Our final team. I say team. He's riding solo this year. He's trying to gare fair with it in 2013, doing it all himself. Mr. Rule the Roost himself, Mr. Jack Hussey. Hi, Jack. How are you doing, mate? I'm good.

3:22Jack:Thanks, mate. Yeah, the ego has expanded so much now that I'm not just doing post-match. pods on my own i'm taking on entire quiz teams on my own because you know that's that's how highly i think of myself fair enough all right well welcome to you well we've got three rounds today and if everyone's ready i'm just going to jump straight in with round one which is called category allen category allen

3:49really straightforward there's a little bit of a twist i suppose on uh younus cabulzai which we played on this quiz over many years and over many pods but a slight twist of it so for this question i'm going to give you five categories then you have to give me an answer that fits into each one of those categories so this round is all about premier league goals so a pretty familiar category what i want you to do is give me five names and say you'll message them to me but i'll go through them afterwards just to make sure that nobody copies anyone else but maybe make a note of this or mental note at the very least but the five categories that i want you to name players for category one i want you to name anyone who scored 80 or more premier league goals for spares category two is between 30 and 80 premier league goals category 3 between 10 and 30 category 4 between 2 and 10 and category 5 is one solitary premier league goal any player that scored one premier league goal so very quickly to recap that category 1 80 or more premier league goals for spurs category 2 between 30 and 80 category 3 between 10 and 30 category 4 between 2 and 10 and in category 5 is one solitary premier league goal so i'll give you a few minutes obviously work it out between yourselves i was thinking about just while you're thinking on this and so there's no dead air i was thinking about throwing in a kind of final twist on this that you would all have to name a unique player for each category i'll tell you what let's do it just for category five so one premier league goal so if any of you name the same player on the last category if you're a player that scored one solitary premier league goal i'll take points away from both teams or all teams that name the same player so you're gonna have to name someone unique on that final one so i'm gonna go just in order of who's on my score scoreboard here Jack I'm going to go with your answers first so you went with between more than 80 Premier League goals you went with Hyeongsong between 30 and 80 you went with Gareth Bale, between 10 and 30 Kulazewski, 2 to 10 Musa Sissoko and then for your one solitary Premier League goal you went for Mabizela I can tell you that all five of those were correct and you got a bonus point so you are preliminarily on six just in case someone else has answered with Mabizela let's go to Rosa and Billy next you went with Kane yeah of course Jermaine Defoe got 91 Premier League goals for Spurs so incorrect on that one he would have gone into category one yeah 91 you also went with Kulazewski for the 10 and 30, which is correct.

6:58Mathis Tell for 2-10, which is correct. And you went for Zabby Simmons as your solitary Premier League goal. So you got four points. It was just that Defoe one that you got. Incorrect there. Dan and Sean, your list. You went with Kane as well for your over 80, correct. Dele, yeah, he fits into the second category. Peter Crouch between 10 and 30 is correct. Danny Rose between 2 and 10 is also correct and then you went for i thought this was the most obvious solitary goal i was surprised that nobody else went for this but you went for paul robinson which is of course correct so you also have got all five of those correct with the bonus point nobody cancels each other's out out and loses any points so you get six points there as well so jack at the end of round one you're on six points rosa and billy you are on four dan and sean you are also on six points

8:00protein is now at starbucks and it's never tasted so good you can add protein cold foam to your favorite drink or try one of our new protein lattes or matcha try it today at starbucks

8:17In a classroom of sodas, most stay quiet. Then there's Mr. Pibb. Sweet cherry, bold outbursts, the kind of flavor that gets attention. Bold kick of cherry. Hey, yo, Mr. Pibb. They say you should learn something new every day. Like how you should only drink Jägermeister at zero degrees Fahrenheit. Ice cold. Like those frozen cavemen they find. Which makes you wonder, what would a caveman think of Jägermeister? Well, if you served it warm, he'd probably throw it in your face, say Oonga Boonga, and storm off. And nobody wants that. So drink it cold or not at all. Jägermeister. Damn, that's cold. Drink responsibly.

8:53Jägermeister liqueur, 35 % alcohol by volume. Imported by Masked Jägermeister, US, White Plains, New York. Round two is Listian Ziga. So in honor of our departed captain who left in the summer of 2025, I want you to rank from highest to lowest the teams in the Big Six the other 5 teams in the Big Six apart from Spurs I want you to rank them in terms of how many goals Sonny scored against them in the Premier League and this goes to obviously Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool Man City and Man United just Premier League goals what I'm going to do is give you a point for each correct placement and you will get two bonus points if you get them all in the exact order so in total there are seven points available here this is tough this is a tough one it's close isn't it between the top three I think I was surprised with how the list looked Tom if you've thrown us off course with your surprise I'm going to be furious and impotent

10:18I don't think I have well maybe I have I don't I don't I don't think I mean I was just I don't think it's leaning one way or the other I'm just I am surprised with maybe I'm more surprised with the actual numbers that are you know posted against this

10:40Right, okay, cool. Okay, let's do this then. I'm going to start with a team on the lowest amount of points after round one, which is Rosa and Billy. Can you give me your order? So again, highest to lowest. So the team that you resized is who you think has scored. Sonny scored the most amount of goals against. Do you want to go for it, Rosa? Okay, so the top team that he scored against, It's not the top team in the land, I hope. Arsenal. Then we have United. Then we have City. Then Chelsea. Then Liverpool. Ooh, cat among pigeons. It's got a lot of pigeons. You know that.

11:28It's our theory. Thank you. Thank you very much. If we're going down, we're going down swinging. Yeah. We're going to have some of that. Go for a user at the end. Not a Thomas Frank, put it that way. Exactly.

11:44Jack, let's go to you next, mate.

11:49Jack:So I have gone with number one, Manchester City. Number two, Arsenal. Three, Liverpool. Four, Man United. Five, Chelsea. Thank you very much. and Dan and Sean your list please

12:10we've gone with Arsenal top City second Liverpool third, Man United fourth and Chelsea fifth thank you very much different orders, everyone got different orders perhaps unsurprisingly, I can tell you that nobody got the full five correct I can tell you I can tell you nobody even got four actually but what I can say is Dan and Sean you got three correct Rosa and Billy you got two Jack you also got two so the correct order and I'll give you the amount of goals he scored against them as well this is where I was a bit surprised so Arsenal were top so Rosa and Billy and Dan and Sean you both got that one correct He scored eight against Arsenal in the Premier League.

13:05Iconic. That puts him in iconic status, obviously, if he wasn't already. Second was Liverpool. Nobody got this correct. He got seven against Liverpool. I don't believe you. In the league. When did they happen then? Seven. Yeah. Prove it. Yeah. Very surprised. I think he got a few at Anfield in a few years in a row. I remember him getting the first goals and defeats, weren't they?

13:32Jack:Were they? So these are like Richarlison goals, is what I'm saying. He did get one, didn't he, to stop them winning the league that year, that time. Was it Klopp's last season? I think he opened the scoring at Anfield. I remember that being really good. It was the Conte year, wasn't it? We needed to get a point, really, to get to the top four. He scored the goal at Wembley as well. he scored the cane assist after loggering Mr. Hedder by about 10 yards. He scored that one. He scored a couple in lockdown as well, I think, or in the COVID years. So, you know, that just gets erased from memory. But, yeah, I mean, I still don't know where seven comes from.

14:14But just going on the data that I've got, guys, if you want to challenge it, feel free. Go and do your own research. Well, I will challenge it, but I don't want to make this possible on really long time. Fair enough. To me, gang, do your research again. I will. I will. I promise. I'll mark my homework after this. Yeah, in third place, Man City, five Premier League goals. Maybe, I think, maybe skewed by the three that he got in the Champions League against them. Maybe that's maybe boosted him up a few rankings. But, yeah, five against Man City. Surely he scored against City more than anybody else, like overall.

15:03No, I think that's probably Kane still. Kane's pretty much got a record against everyone. And then in fourth place, Man United, four goals. And then in fifth place is Chelsea with three goals.

15:22Right, okay. So, Jack, you got two correct. Rosa and Billy, you got two correct. Dan and Sean, you got three correct, which means going into our final round, Dan and Sean, you are currently leading with nine points. Jack, you are in second place, very close second, with eight points. Billy and Rosa, you have six points. But, so this last round, there were lots and lots of points available. Big swings potentially here. More points in the other two rounds, Tom. more points available in the last round you say it's it's all weighted correctly i would say okay the amount the amount of points available is the same for every team i'll say that so okay just get the questions right and see where it takes you keep working hard

17:56But I'm sure between us we can do this. And on third round, final round. So I have in front of me the total number of points that Spurs have won against every Premier League team that they've faced. I've sorted that list highest to lowest and then I've assigned points values in order so the team we've scored the most amount of points against is worth 50 points 5-0 and the team that we've scored scored or sorry the team we've won the least fewest amount of points against in the Premier League era is only worth 1 point. You're going to name 5 teams in total and I'm going to go individually. You can't name the same team as another team and you'll be awarded the points based on where they are placed in the list so it's a weighted points total for these.

18:52As I said the highest amount of points available here is 50 and then as you go down the list you just take one point off for each place in the big league table of Tottenham Motspur. and we are going to start with a team who are trailing going into this final round which is you Rosa and Billy, you will be able to pick first Jack, you'll go second Dan and Sean, as the leaders you will go third

19:28just give you another 15 seconds or so obviously you can write down five teams if you want but they might get picked so have some backups ready but maybe have a first five and then some reserves.

19:41Jack:Letting the losers go first. Woke participation award stuff, mate. Prizes for everyone. It's very Thomas. Very Thomas Frank, isn't it? That's no prizes for anyone. Yeah. Yeah. So round three for the Royal Roost Big Fat Quiz of 2025. this will decide our winners. Rosa and Billy, can I have your first team, please? And like I say, I'll tell you how many points they are worth after each answer. Okay, so we're going to tactically play the longevity card with Everton.

20:26Everton are worth 50 points. You could not get a better answer than Everton. We have, I can tell you, 121 points against them in the Premier League era. No team. How many do they have against us? Probably about 10. We are the same club. It is quite shocking, actually. They have, well, they've got 10 wins against us, and it's 25 draws, so 55 points. Yeah.

21:09Jack:Pretty incomparable, really. That's nice. That's nice and comforting, actually. Yeah. It's nice to know we're not that bad. Yeah, exactly. So well done, Rosa and Galeela. That is the highest scoring answer you could have given. Jack, you're next up, mate. West Ham United. That was our second. West Ham West Ham United are worth 48 points and they are third on the all-time list. I always thought they were second we have we have 97 Premier League points against them I feel a bit mortified now because I answered that so smugly up front there is it like that's the second place answer I've nailed that you've made me look a bit silly there haven't you Dan and Sean can I have your first answer please I think I mentioned only five teams you get to pick from or sorry get to answer with so Dan and Sean your first of five please

22:31okay we'll go Aston Villa

22:36Aston Villa are fourth on the list and are worth 47 points well played 93 Premier League points we have against Aston Villa

22:56okay we're into so back to you Rosa and Billy I think by like answer three or four and certainly by answer five I think this is going to be very interesting and could could be potentially massive swings by then there's not many mainstays left that we're better than okay so we've had Everton, West Ham and Villa those are all on our prop fives as well Yeah. Should we go for the one that we just said? Just go for it, yeah. Okay, we're trying to think of non-renegated teams, but this team have been renegated. So we're going to go for Fulham. Fulham are ninth on the list. Okay. And that means they are worth 42 points.

23:44We have 65 Premier League points against them. What's the number of teams? 50 that's 50 okay not too bad we'll take that so back to you Jack for your second team please Southampton Southampton very good shout they are fifth on the list fifth on the list and therefore worth 46 points

24:21Dan and Sean your second team please hold on I'm trying to convince Dan to go for a big play is number two still bacon number two yeah he's still up for grabs let's go for it you want to go for the big one alright we're going to go for Manchester City yeah well done second place wow they were just that team they were shy for years and we had a good record before they got took over and then they got took over and we still were very good against them so yeah very well done they were 49 points that's a lot of sense doesn't it we've been good against them and they're good yeah as you say before that they were shy that's a great shout out to be fair I'm still quite surprised very good shout I maybe wouldn't have had them as high as second but yeah I think logic comes into this a little bit certainly in your first couple of guesses but yeah now I think it's going to get interesting I appreciate that the top two are teams that are like very spiritually Tottenham that makes a lot of sense do you know what I mean no matter the money, whatever situation I thought Yeah.

25:46Yeah, I'd go with that. Right, Billy and Rosa, back to you for your third team, please. I reckon that last one, Bill. Yeah. Yeah, even though slightly traumatising, but just do it. Yeah, they're traumatising. I'm going to go for Leicester.

26:06Leicester are 13th on the list. Oh, wow. We have 54 Premier League points against them, and they are 38 points to you in this quiz. It's literally one wrong answer from anyone who just bottom falls out. Not saying that is one, just saying that, because you're still floating around the top 15, which is good. It collapses on. Jack, you're 13.

26:42Jack:I'm a bit stuck now because there's that part of me that wants to go with ever present just because we'll have played against some of the most times but then I think about Arsenal or United or Liverpool and we've not really beaten them that much in the Premier League gearers so i'm i'm sort of more tempted to go with uh i don't know wolves let's say wolves let's do a wolves

27:16wolves are 26 on the list so pretty much hang on mid table

27:2627 points

Read the full transcript

27:30we've got a really bad record against them yeah we discussed that and I said oh we've definitely had some comedy results against them I didn't realise the comedy results were like the last three all of the last three years that is not great since one move there we've basically never beat them yeah Yeah, that's actually true. Honestly, mate, can you imagine how miserable Christmas was in the in-laws' line? I've got half of my family, well, I'm Spurs, and then everyone else in the room is Wolves, just full of real misery around the Christmas tree. More miserable than the team with two points. That's really something.

28:11Isn't it? Yeah. I like how you were like half of the family. You weighted it more towards yourself. Nice. as it should be Dan and Sean

28:30Newcastle United damn it that's the highest amount of points available Billy what did we do so we have 84 points against them and that is worth 45 points to you. Yeah, they were the next highest available total. So yeah, good shout.

29:01Jack:Give us a quick rundown of what teams you've got so far. Tom? Yes, so in order, we've got Everton, Man City, West Ham, Aston Villa, Southampton, Newcastle, Fulham, Leicester and the Wolves are all taken so far and you've all got two more teams to name. Okay. Well, actually, Tommy and Sean had in the bag but we could still fuck this up. Two more to name. That's what I mean. These last two really could fuck everything. I mean, yeah. No zero pointers. So points are available for every single team, obviously unless you name someone we've never played. But yeah, all over the place, this this last 16s.

29:50Rosa and Billy, when you're ready, can I have your 14? Shall we go with the one first and save the other two for our last silence? Okay, so if you pick, yeah, go for it. I'm going to go Watford.

30:11Watford are 24th on the list. 35 points against I guess not been in the lead an awful lot, I guess they've probably been in the Premier League for about a third of the time the Premier League's been coming so 29 points Watford are worth to you Jack,

30:42Jack:back to you mate so if Watford are about 35 points I'm now just playing the numbers game and I'm going to go over the presence so I'm going to say Arsenal well done next best available yeah next best available points total they are 7th on the list 69 points we've got against them and they're worth 44 points to you I'm surprised it's that many brought you right back in it Jack

31:18we had a good run of home games against them we were unbeaten for I'd say 5 or 6 years under Pochettino

31:31and obviously yeah not in the 90s that were pre-Vinga Vinga home Vinga home

31:43Dan and Sean, you're up next.

31:50Sean, you do the honors. Similar thinking to Jax, we're going to go with Liverpool. Liverpool are 11th on the list, 62 points, which gives you 40 points

32:13final round of guessing people it just sounds

32:21Jack:I'm not doubting you it just sounds wrong that we've got 62 points against Liverpool it just sounds wrong you know I don't whatever you know

32:34yep We've definitely got about two points per season. We've tactically approached this wrong, definitely. So we're going to join the crew and go for Man United. Man United are 14th on the list. 54 points against them. 38 points to you.

32:59So, Jack, while you're working on your final number, I'm just going to add Billy and Rose points up. We started so strong, Bill. I know. Yeah, I understood. Now you know. Now you know.

33:19All right. Jack, your final team, please.

33:26Jack:Do we already have Newcastle? Yes. Yes, Newcastle. have been taken.

33:45Leeds.

33:49Leeds. 15th on the list. 48 points. I'd say we're worth 37. They were out of the league for about 17 years. That's quite stupid. reflection I request that you add it up to see what the position is that they need just to make it a bit more tense I can have a look I guess the problem is if I add it up and they're already ahead that does shred drama from it you can't already be ahead without having guessed the last one

34:31Jack:that's risky let's do what Thomas Frank doesn't do let's risk it you're right that's true so hold on I'm just adding it up now and your final totals so yeah okay let me have a look and I'll if it's worth saying I'll

34:52right okay so you need to give me teams to to win the quiz you need to give me a team that will be worth 21 points and I would say that's a about two thirds of the way down the list I would say hmm

35:16hmm okay Sean should we go with the one we've been saying I feel pretty confident with it yeah we are going with Sunderland

35:37Sunderland AFC

35:48Sunderland are worth 44 points to you they've done it again

35:56Jack:they've done it again Jack stop inviting them back Come on. It's not over neat. It has to be in it. It's invitational. I was going to tell you that we'd have to come back to a deep end. That's true. Sunderland were the biggest, that was the most points that were available in that final round, Sunderland. They were eight on the list. So I'll go through anyone, any requests at the end. But just to confirm, we've got Dan and Sean, final score 2-3-4 Jack in second place on 2-10 Rose and Billy in third place with 204 points I'm going to be 200 so I'm taking well on everyone I would say yes go on sorry Rose I just have one question which is that Leeds Leeds were out of the league for what how many years 17 or 18 years yeah but we've got this we've beaten them we've got the same amount of points as we do against United.

37:03We've got more against United. We've got 54 points against United. Leeds, we've got 48 points. We were thinking about that. Chelsea against Griffin. Yeah, I'd say it's probably the worst of the big six, right? It must be. Yeah. We were like 20 years without beating them, wasn't it? When Lennon scored that goal. Yeah, definitely the worst of the big six. Definitely. And the worst of the ever-present as well. Yeah. Leeds, let me just have a very, very quick look while I'm on it. This is as of literally today, so it includes this season. We've played them 31 times, 14 wins, 6 draws. So, yeah, more than 8.

37:49Just to fill in the gaps on that last one, so the team, the highest ranked teams that nobody got in 10th place Crystal Palace 64 points against them I had that on our list Bill I'm pretty sure next highest was Blackburn in 12th place 61 points and then between Leeds and Watford is Chelsea, West Brom Borough, Burnley, Norwich Bolton, Stoke and Swansea Swansea we pretty much beat every season. In fact, I think we only drew once against Swansea and in every other game was a win for the 10 or so years they were in the league. All the way down the bottom, Swindon, Blackpool and Barnsley, but we've got minimal amount of points then because we've only played them a couple of times.

38:42Luton, obviously, only in the league for one year, but we've got six points against them. Bradford, the same. Yeah, Huddersfield, Cardiff, Reading. Yeah. Nobody touched those ones down the bottom, which is good. But yeah, you wiped out the top nine or the top ten. So I think between you, you've done some sterling work there, guys. Well played to everybody. That's all well done, everyone. Prizes for everyone. Prizes for everyone. Why don't we use that as Round 3's title? Prizes for everyone. Thank you. Very well played, everyone. Thank you, Tom. That was great, as ever. and we'll see you next year to retain this crown pleasure as always congratulations Dan and Sean and thank you everyone else well played thank you Tom

39:32Jack:thank you Tom thank you Tom for doing yet another quiz and obviously if anybody has enjoyed this quiz and the quizzes of yesteryear Tom I believe you actually have a quiz playlist now on Spotify yeah yeah I tweeted it out the other day I've put a list together of all the quizzes that I've done. So they started out on the Tottenham Way back in 2017. And then I've done a few for you on Royal Roost and then a few on Hometown Glory as well now. So yeah, across three pods, I think there's about 10. This will be number 11. They're pretty evergreen. Yeah, they don't date. If you fancy getting stuck into Spurs trivia, have a look at my Twitter and click the Spotify link.

40:17I think as Spurs do bad, increasingly bad, you're going to be in increasing demand. It's just much more fun than quizzing. Yeah, we're just starting to do quizzes every week. No podding, just quiz.

40:31Jack:Just interspersed with little moments, little jibes at Thomas Frank or whoever the other loser is in charge of our shit football team.

41:04Thank you. Thank you.
