1:35Jack:They're coming forward here. Xavi Simons with an effort! Oh, what a goal that is! Oh, that is absolutely spectacular!

1:48Jack:And they believe again! They breathe again! Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Rural Rouge Podcast. we're making a habit of these positive results at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and I'm delighted to say that today I'm welcoming Jay and Stu to the podcast Afternoon chaps, how are you doing? Yeah, I'm not too bad, thank you mate Excited, tired, it's your standard Tottenham week innit You don't know what's going to be happening the following week but it's gone from not looking forward to how we're playing to all of a sudden just the buzz and the excitement and it's finally like we're going to be back at Tottenham and enjoying going for once.

2:26Were you there last night, Stu? You were, weren't you? I was, yeah. Yeah, it just felt different. Like, it did feel different. Everything just felt different last night. The positivity through the club was something I've not seen for such a long time. You know, going through the concourse, everyone was smiling after the game. It was nice to actually walk out of there. You know, everyone's smiling, walking in, having a drink. You know, it was just nice to see. We've not seen that for so long in that stadium. and you know like last night it just proves like the power of the fans is what can keep the club running you know we've all stuck together and we've created this amazing thing on Sunday and yeah we're just I'm just so excited like Jay I just can't wait for Sunday to be honest

3:06Jack:I mean look some people might not like this mentality but in some ways Jay you could say it was almost like a perfect result for Spurs last night in the respect that you know the squad is depleted we've got a lot of injuries we're fighting for Premier League survival right now but We did win the game last night. Obviously, we didn't win the tie, so we've gone out of the competition. We don't have any more midweek fixtures to worry. I mean, I don't want to say worry about. It's the Champions League at the end of the day. But still, you know, it kept that momentum going and it's limited the amount of games we've got to play going forward, hasn't it?

3:39Jack:Look, if we had a tie against Barcelona coming up, we'd all be happy about that. I'm not going to lie. But it was still a win for Spurs, wasn't it, last night, don't you think? I think it was a needed win. Obviously, we've not won at home this year. And can you imagine saying that as a Spurs fan? We're coming into April nearly and we've not had our home win. It's horrific, isn't it? It's horrific when you put it like that. It's scary. And you sit there and you go, if we wanted anything out of last night, it was a 3-0 deficit to overturn. You're thinking dreamland. Could it have happened? And do you know what?

4:20there were certain points in the game last night where, wow, I thought it was going to happen. Ultimately, at the end of the game, I think that's the first time the Spurs players have been clapped off at home since maybe early December. Actually, earlier than that, it feels like the players are buying into the atmosphere from fans. And I know we had a great atmosphere pre-game versus Arsenal. I think the decision to rule out Mewani's goal deflated a lot of fans. And obviously we can give you a bit of an exclusive, maybe a bit later when we touch on Sunday, just regarding the players and what's going on.

4:53Me and Stu can run through that. But yeah, it feels like it was a moral win. Even though we went out of the competition, it was, we're here, we're going to fight. And these players, certainly last night, bearing in mind most of these players are running on fumes, put up that fight. And it was amazing to see. Shout out to Archie Gray, by the way. What a player.

5:12Jack:Unbelievable, wasn't he? Absolutely. I loved seeing Marcos Llorente go over and shake his hand when he got substituted you've seen that video doing the rounds it's yeah it's probably like old-fashioned sportsmanship and it's very rare to see i think nowadays but it's it's really it's lovely i think and it's great and it really it spoke to how how much i think the lad announced himself last night i think i think he's always shown glimmers have been a really really special player but last night i don't know it was something else for me i felt anyway i felt he was He was mature, composed, and just he was brilliant overall.

5:45Jack:It was a good performance as well, Stuart. I don't know if you agree from Xavi Siemens, who got two goals. One of them was an absolute screamer. And he bossed the second half, I would say. He looked a lot more like the player that we thought we were signing, didn't he? Yeah, I'm a big fan of Xavi. I think he gets a lot of kind of untowards hate, if I'm being honest. I think people are way too harsh on him. You know, you look at some players come to the Premier League and need time to adapt, you know, and he's coming into a really, really struggling Tottenham side as well, which doesn't help, you know, and you can see the quality he's got, you know, he's the only one there that can take that ball.

6:22He's kind of feeling the Madison role a little bit. He's the only one in that team who can do it. And last night, he's shoe-held key he is to this football club. He really is, you know, and when we get the likes of the injured players back, James Madison, you know, that's the kind of thing that excites me, thinking of like Xavi, Madison on that pitch together, Archie Gray, Urgville. got some really good players there that can all link in together really really well xavi for me like i don't know what happened the last few games he got dropped in here for a few games i don't know maybe if he had a little fallout with the manager or whatever but for me he has to play he has to play every every game for me as a number 10 he's pivotal for what spurs will try to do and for me he's the only one in that squad at the moment who's good enough to

7:00Jack:kind of play that 10 role and and do it well look obviously forest is is a massive game for many many reasons um it's going to really sort of give us a clear indication as to where this team is at um if this is just a you know a temporary kind of liverpool was encouraging this was even better and the real test is is against forest um i mean i guess going into the forest game where are you both at on on tudor at the moment because you know i'm i'm not gonna lie like when we first hired him I was not particularly happy with the appointment I appreciate that there weren't a massive amount of options available to Spurs at that point and not a lot of people that want to come in and try and save a team that looks like it's on the brink of relegation or what have you um I wasn't particularly happy with him but he's I would say personally speaking he's he's won me over quite a bit his his demeanor in press conferences the way he's been giving a bit back to sky sports and and the like when they've been coming for him coming for spurs i think he's actually made a a really decent case um for the club for the players he has stood up for them and i think they're sort of repaying him it looks like the team to me anyway is more unified than it has been in in a very long time are you sort of both quietly impressed by tudor or loudly impressed by him even.

8:22I think for me, I was just a bit hopeful of his sort of calibre when it does come to relegation fights. He has a very, very good record. There's no denying that for the first six months of any club that he goes to, he's usually the specialist in getting out. I was willing to give him a chance and then after seeing the Fulham and Crystal Palace game, but the one thing I did like is every time we have had a goal disallowed, Mewani, but then the following week it's it's happened to us and the goal's been given he's called it out he hasn't been afraid to say we are being treated differently I think a lot of us had the frustrations with Thomas Frank where we'd go into a game and something would happen and Thomas Frank would go from sort of not being angry but it would be oh well these decisions happen and it seems to be they don't just Tottenham so for me Trudor he's got these players playing differently I think I see a stat this morning prior to our last two games, we had only had six shots total in our last five on target compared to the last two games versus Liverpool and Atletico Madrid.

9:24When you look at the calibre of teams we are facing, we had 16 shots over them last two games on target, which is a great improvement. And there was something I noticed at halftime last night, obviously being at home. At halftime, the players didn't walk off down the tunnel in their little groups. Every single one of them players went to the centre circle together, had their chat and walked off the pitch together. So it just shows there is some unity there and hopefully this unity is going to be what's strong enough to keep us up and then we re-evaluate in the summer.

9:52Jack:Have you been sort of, you know, quietly surprised, Stu, by the way the team has managed to rally by this point? Because they looked broken, didn't they, just a couple of weeks ago. Again, I'm not going to lie, I've sort of thought to myself, we might not even get another point this season, you know, I don't want to be pessimistic. I haven't wanted to be a negative fan about it, but we were in just such a dire place. It's night and day right now. Even look at the running stats. That's the thing that people are talking about a lot today. The team are matching some of the hardest working teams in football at the moment now, which we weren't doing under Thomas Frank, that's for sure.

10:34Jack:No. Well, for me, it's definitely obviously the players now. I think the players are finally taking responsibility. I don't think this has anything to do with the manager personally. I don't think the manager's come in and changed too much. You know, there's a lot of outside noise and a lot of the players are playing for the fans, not the manager. You know, there's a lot of different stories going around. We don't know what's true, what's not. But for me personally, I just think the players, they've just somehow, I think, where they've kind of had this week, they've had a good week, they've had players coming back from injury.

11:01Obviously, like we said, we picked up a massive point at Liverpool and it just breeds confidence. You know, when you can do something and you do it quite well, you know, all of a sudden you start growing. You saw last night, like I said, the running stats everything was brilliant last night they worked so hard off the ball on the ball and it's not something we've seen for quite a long long time and I think the manager has to take some credit especially for last night I think he has to but obviously I do look at it a little bit different maybe to some people because I do think that Atletico Madrid kind of you know they're in a driving seat there's a free goal cushion there they didn't really open up so much to speak and you know leave any like kind of doors open for us but it's just the case now just sit like you said see about the forest see what happens there because that's going to be a test when we have Forrest at home who are probably going to do a low block, sit in and then it's an is Eagle Tudor then got the ability and the know-how to unlock teams that sit in a low block.

11:51Jack:I mean, Jay, let's talk about Forrest. Let's look ahead to that because if I'd have said to you at the start of the season and Forrest at the end of the year is going to be a relegation six-pointer, I mean, it would have been quite hard to believe, wouldn't it? It's quite hard to put into words, which isn't sort of the best thing to say on a podcast, I guess. quite how bad this season has been, right? And just the, I think the mental load that it has been for the players, the club, but just for the fan base as well. Yeah, I think obviously the one thing that's always forgotten when a team is playing bad is the fans that go week in, week out like Stu.

12:28I mean, he was at an Atletico Madrid last week. He went to Liverpool. He went to the game last night. There's fans that pay so much money to go watch this. And when teams are doing bad, Media mainly focuses on, oh, this player's unhappy, that player's unhappy. The fans are the ones who sit there and get scrutinised, get bantered, get the abuse online. And it just shows how different, if you look back over the last six, seven years, we were one of the teams that were knocking on the door to go on and win the Champions League. We were knocking on the door to win the league. And it shows the decline in it.

13:02And when you sit there and say, oh, how would it have felt if I had said at the start of the season, and Forest, like, eighth from last game is a six-pointer, you would have gone, not Tottenham, we're too big for that. And I think the reality now has woken up to myself. I was naive enough to, in January, say, oh, yeah, there's no chance we go down. We had 13 points over West Ham. It's one point. We need to wake up and be realistic that this is a fight that's not familiar to a club of Tottenham's stature. And we've claimed we're a big six club. we run the risk of being the first big six club that's no longer a Premier League club.

13:38I think that's why Sunday is, I would say it's probably our most pivotal game that we've played by the final in many years. And yeah, it's just how the players react to what us, the fans, have got planned ahead of Sunday.

13:54Jack:Because obviously I do, you know, this is, we are going to pivot into a much more positive place. But just to sort of touch on that, Stu, because, you know, you are a fan that goes home and away. And I think we can't hide from the fact that there has been a level of toxicity this season. There's been a broken bond between, really, between the club and its fans. And I include the players with the club as well. You know, we've seen sort of instances of players coming over to the fans, you know, getting quite aggro with them, all that type of stuff. we often see different sort of figures, like Jay was saying, you know, lots of figures in the media that will say, what Spurs fans complaining about?

14:34Jack:You know, stop being so entitled, stop this, stop that. I think it always feels like, it always comes down onto the fans and it feels like, you know, this is, this is, again, maybe it's just the cross you have to bear as a football fan, but it has felt like we've been up against it. I mean, just from your perspective as somebody that goes home and away. How have you managed in those sort of like the darker moments, those points when, you know, we're talking about the Palace games, stuff like that, when we're literally thinking, we are actually going to go here. This isn't just a catastrophe anymore, like an imaginary catastrophe.

15:10Jack:This is a catastrophe. Yeah, it's been tough. It's not been easy. You know, obviously, when you go play good football and you win games of football, it's easy to get yourself up at 2 o 'clock in the morning and jump on a plane for somewhere and travel wherever you've got to go or five-hour drive up to Newcastle or whatever you've got to do, you know. But we do it for the love of the club. And I don't think, for people like me who go all the time, I don't think it kind of matters so much about if you've got that toxic part to it or not. I feel people like me were always going to go regardless. You know, the toxic part for me, that's the most thing I found difficult, though.

15:43I found it really hard. And there was games that I was kind of shying away from going because I would never, ever boo my team. I've never, ever booed a player off my pitch. I would never boo a player. That is something I would never do. And obviously, away fans, like I said, they were, you know, it's their right. It's up to them what they want to do, but they are. They're booing players. You know, I remember a game not long ago, a couple months ago, home game. We're booing for Cario in like the eighth minute of the game. And I'm just sitting there in absolute bewilderment thinking, what are we doing?

16:12You know, like it just does not help. And the problem is now, all these players have social media accounts. They see all of our posts. half these players will scroll through obviously there's no Vicario obviously for the main one with his parents I'm quite close to his parents and they were telling me they see everything they see all the posts, they see all the tweets they see everything, they read it all they dissect it and you can imagine it gets back to the players, you can imagine it gets back to the players and how they feel, you know, if you're playing for a football club and you're reading comments and that it's kind of like a snowball effect the fans are getting more toxic, the players are probably they're reading it Their backs are going up.

16:50And it's just a whole thing where, like I said, this week, it kind of feels like it's just a brand new clean slate where everything's just starting again. And now it's just like a mini league. Eight games to go. Let's go. Let's see what happens.

Let's talk about Sunday because, you know, I probably should have mentioned this at the top. but Jay and Stu, if you've seen the posters doing the rounds, show up, sing up, stay up, being organised, have been working their arses off behind the scenes, sorting out a welcome for the players as they show up to the stadium to show them, as Stu was saying, let's put it all behind us, let's put all this stuff there, back and forth, the crap that people have been posting online or saying or the booing in the stadium, let's forget all that.

19:02Jack:We're all Tottenham, let's get behind it. I mean, I guess, Les, just let me know first of all, I mean, I don't need to ask you what the motivation was to do this, but what made you two, I guess, in particular, step up and do this, to be the ones to take the mantle and say, right, let's get organised and let's make something happen? Yeah, so Stu put a post out, me and Stu are quite close mates in and out of football, so he put a post out saying, like, we need to get behind these players, and sort of we knocked our heads together. Obviously, I've got quite a few club contacts from when I have protests against the ownership and it's hard to be so negative about the club that I love.

19:43I might not love the people that are running the show, but at the end of the day, I was born a Tottenham fan, raised a Tottenham fan. I have no choice in life. It's my curse to carry and I'll proudly, if we went to the championship, I would still go watch. I say, oh no, I wouldn't. I would, of course I would, because at the end of the day, my love isn't for the people running the club. My love's the excitement and... it's watching that and Stu had some great ideas about meeting, trying to see if we can organise coach greeting and stuff like that. And I got into the club quite early last week and I said, look, we want to do this.

20:17Is there any way to make it possible? And this is where props do go to the club. Me and Stu jumped on a call with Met Police, the club, the stadium organisers, and we said, we laid out a plan, a well-thought-out plan with all the artists you can imagine. and we said, look, we want to organise this. Can the club work for us and help it happen? And the first meeting there was a little bit of pushback. Oh, we don't know if the players come in. Within a couple of days, the club had reached back out and gave us some info. Obviously, I'll touch on what the club have also done and organised. Obviously, you've seen a wave of it tonight on social media from the players themselves.

20:54But yeah, Stu, obviously, this is your kind of idea that all the fans have made possible and certainly the fan groups coming together. It's just, there's no positives. No, no, that was just it. You know, obviously I'm one of them fans that never thought we'd go down, let's be real. I didn't think we'd go down. Crystal Palace game was the first time I actually felt like we could actually go. Yeah. I left that stadium quite dejected and I thought, you know what, we're in trouble. Like, you know, we're the most, our form was absolutely horrendous. You know, we were literally just spiraling out of control and it was just a case of, look, something had to be done, you know.

21:29like i've never seen the ground so toxic there was no singing you got fans getting altercations in the stands of each other and it was just a case of like someone's got to try and do something and like i said i woke up in the morning and i i ended up just a few days before watching like the video that the everton fans done so i kind of thought you know what i'm going to try and push it so obviously i put it in my chat group and said look are any of you boys willing to help me obviously jay stepped forward straight away with along with a couple of others you know there's about a group of eight of us eight nine of us and that they've all done their part as well you know we've had like a lot of us working hard behind the scenes and it's just a case of just trying to do something positive because I honestly believe if we didn't I think we could have been in trouble like because there was no way of getting out of this like let's be honest like I think I think also as well by what we're doing on Sunday I think it's also had a really big effect on last night I think people were excited to go last night because of Sunday now like last night was it was incredible being in that stadium because everybody was talking about Sunday.

22:26And I mean, absolutely everyone. And, you know, like for someone had a little dream and we didn't think we'd get too far of it. Well, we thought we were going to do it either way. We were going to try and push it. But I think me and myself, Jay, and the guys behind us, I don't think we ever imagined it would be kind of this big, this much traction. It's literally gone absolutely everywhere. You know, constantly have immediate outlets contact us because they want to speak about it. They're all going to be there on Sunday. It's gone probably bigger and better than what we ever thought it would be.

22:56And like I said, I think this is going to be the biggest event at that ground. Obviously, take away the parade. I think it will be the biggest turnout we've seen in that new stadium, for sure.

23:07Jack:Are you quite surprised by that? Because I think, you know, in a lot of ways, we all sort of discuss modern football. We discuss the fact that it's different now, that fans come from all over the place. And especially, I think one of the things that I have seen a lot of people talk about is the fact that it's different as well following a London club. You know, you see those huge crowds that show up in Liverpool, in Newcastle, but it's one club in a big city. Everybody in that city supports that club. London's such a huge, massive land, and everybody lives all around in the home counties or all around the country.

23:41Jack:Sometimes it's harder to get mobilized. Sometimes it's harder to organize. eyes i guess you know with those sort of things in mind have you been surprised by by the response um because you know sometimes sometimes when you talk about this stuff sometimes when you've seen some of the protests you know there's been a hundred people show up and yeah whatever everyone has a laugh but i've always been one of those kind of that i feel like people are bothering to do something people are trying to sort of stand up and be counted so it's not the sort of thing where i think you know people should take the piss out of it but that that's beside the point i mean on this like i guess do you do you see this as a as a reaction to the the the season is it is it or is it bigger than that do you think this signals the the sign that perhaps we've all suddenly realized you know maybe we have taken this all for granted a bit maybe maybe actually the supporter experience can be better as well maybe we do have a part to play in this if if you get what i'm saying yeah i think i think what i touched on earlier i think a lot of fans will feel the way that I feel and certainly I know how Stu feels that no matter how much you hate the ownership no matter how much you hate the board you might even hate some of the players but ultimately if we don't do what we feel is right as fans then what's the point in football and obviously the famous Bill Nickerson quote without fans but there's nothing and sort of we want to go and watch the game played how we like to watch it played I think it it's such a relatable thing for any fan and if there's a Spurs fan that can spin a negative on what we're trying to do here then how much of a true Spurs fan are you I couldn't care how much you hate the ownership at the end of the day what Spurs fan really wants to see their club go down because going down would be the most detrimental thing that could ever happen to this football club we'd lose sponsorships players we'd lose investments like Luka Vescovic would have no say in players like that eventually going and it's I think all the fans are finally not wisened up because it's harsh to say wisened up I think certainly the reaction online has hit home from certainly media outlets that spurs are in danger there's no creeping away of saying you know what I'm too big to be involved in this we are dragged into a battle and at the end of the day we played against 12 men I feel the last couple of weeks and maybe even further with the decisions that have gone against us now it's time to even the playing field and fans turn up and be that 12th man because it does feel like you know you don't want to have that victim complex do you but you know your Gary Neville's your Carragher's and that they've they've had a bit of a field day with this haven't they and I think we you know we've got to appreciate to a certain point we are a big club and it's just exciting isn't it it's exciting for neutrals to see a big club in this sort of position I'm sure if it was Man United or Arsenal in the same position we'd be buzzing about it but sometimes it feels with Spurs that it goes a little bit past that so I think this is just a good, the fact that everybody is rallying that people are getting behind this, getting behind what you guys are sorting out is amazing and hopefully it will inspire it will inspire a new generation of people as well to get behind the club and support them in a more positive and proactive way um Stuart have the have the club themselves spoken to you about this are they involved are they on board with it what about the um Sunday yeah yeah we've been in full communication with the club uh Jay has mainly um obviously and it's basically because we wasn't gonna even then we thought you know what let's work with them let's put it out there let's try and get it done properly where so we can get correct timings and like I said the best thing about it was me and Jay we butted heads at the start of it.

27:21And like Jay said, we had a really well thought out plan. We went into a meeting very, very well prepared. We basically told them all the things that we knew that we had to say really to kind of, you know, start, like you said, they were trying to push us back on virtually a lot of the things to be fair, a lot of things. And then, you know, but we've got there, we've got there, but the club have been really, really good working with us. They have, they've been really good. Yeah, we had another meeting today that went really well. You know, that was more of a safety type of thing. There were some, you know, some big, big guys in there to be fair that are um and it's just a lot of hard work that has gone into it and we can't sit here and fault anyone whatsoever you know like our group that's sorted it the fans are now getting involved everyone's sharing it everyone's doing their little bit but i do take my hat off to the club for actually kind of doing this but saying that they didn't really have much of a an option they need us now more than ever you know if they don't have us then we we could we could have been in some deep, serious, serious trouble.

28:17I just think it's kind of changed the whole complexion of this relegation battle. I think if you spoke to a Tottenham fan this time last week, you know, after the Crystal Palace defeat, probably 95 % of them said that we're going to go down. If you ask now, it's probably about 5 % reckon we'll go down. It's just completely, utterly uplifted everyone. You can see it with the players. The players now look like they're running through brick walls. It seems like the whole club has just been lifted, you know, and it's all come in this period where this has all been arranged and all been sorted, you know, And like you said, there are a few exclusive.

28:47A lot of these players, they do know what's going on. They've been kept in the loop. They're very, very, very excited for Sunday as well. So yeah, it's just roll on Sunday. We're looking forward to it, buzzing for it.

28:58Jack:I mean, that's good to hear, isn't it? Because again, it's one of those modern football things, isn't it? You sort of think in a way they don't care. They're not bothered. It's just a job to them. But I think this season has shown that's not true. they've looked unhappy for quite a long time haven't they and you can tell it you can tell this is this has gotten to them and something like this yeah that brings everybody back together is you know again it's it can only be it can only be a massive positive I mean anybody that's that's listened to this will have probably already seen the flyer but if not anyone that does want to come down anyone that wants to get involved what are the actual details um of sunday so the um the meet we're planning for fans to get into the area for around 12 ish um the club have worked with us today alongside met police they're going to be pushing the barriers out for around 12 15 if there is heavy numbers like we're anticipating i'd say get there for around 11 45 to 12 uh the The bus is scheduled to come past the designated spot around quarter to one, one o 'clock.

30:05This is where we've got to make ourselves known. The location will be outside BrickLairs. Me, Stuart, and a few of the other guys will be posting the bus route and meeting point tonight at 8pm. So it's a bit of an exclusive there. But yeah, so obviously just to also touch on what Stu said, the players on Monday were made aware of the planned details. And this is the positive that you get every Spurs fan thinking, do you know what they've brought into this? All of the players accepted and wanted to be on the coach. There will be players that are out with injuries who are on the coach. This was shared at the team meeting on Monday.

30:42Tudor himself made the decision to put these players on the coach. Obviously, a lot of them, some of them filter in by a car, some of them go on the coach. The decision has been made that the full squad will be on the coach. Players are excited. Social media, there's some stuff coming. I can't talk too much on it. but there is more stuff coming out. But yeah, the excitement... That's Saturday, Jay, isn't it? Saturday? Yeah, Saturday. There will be something coming out from the club to push the message ahead of Sunday. And yes, it's just fans, obviously, if we can ask one thing and you are really wanting to be there, just make sure the behaviour's on the best because obviously if we can get this right and we work well with the club, we get big numbers and we go out and we beat Forest, what this could mean for the fan base is we could work with sort of the same groups of people obviously got to give a shout out to return the shelf at ethso thfc flags he's organized some flags that we will be handing out uh come find myself and stew we've got some flags to be handing out we'll be in the bricklayers um there is going to be something inside the stadium that's been authorized and designed there's so much to come and it feels like it feels like an age away but sunday bricklayers we will be some of us will be in the bricklayers arms from opening stew maybe a little bit later come up say hello just be excited have your singing voices on and obviously just enjoy the party because it sounds stupid that we're having a party for a game that's on paper meaningless to the fans this should be one of the biggest games in recent times and it's a cup final we need to treat it like it yeah just a quick touch sorry just touching what Jay was saying obviously about the behavior thing part of it obviously we were asked today if this is something we want to do for the rest of the home games for the rest of the season and our answer simply was At the moment, we want to see how Sunday goes.

32:24And it all depends how Sunday goes, depending if we will be allowed to do it again. Obviously, if this goes off absolutely brilliant with no tumble whatsoever and it's all smooth, then it wouldn't be a problem for us of the season to keep doing it. Because we don't want to do it for one game and then stop if this is what's needed for us in the season. If it's something that's going to kind of push everyone over that line and bond everyone together, then we are prepared to do it again and again and again until the end of the season. Or until we're safe, at least. So yeah, I just want to quickly add that on for you.

32:53Jack:No, it's important and it's relevant to make that point because the club are going out on a limb and like you say, whatever we feel about them, the fact they are facilitating this, it's a shame that it's taken these sort of circumstances for them to work more closely with fan groups and everything. But whatever it is, they're here. They've put their ego to one side and they're working with people. Thinking about Europe? Think Poland. a destination that surprises travelers in the best possible way. Start in Royal Krakow, alive with legends and timeless architecture. Experience dynamic Warsaw, where history meets cutting-edge design.

33:31Wander colorful Wrocław and feel the Baltic charm of Gdańsk. And the food? It goes far beyond what you think you know. Yes, there's pierogi, but also modern Polish cuisine, Michelin-rated restaurants, craft coffee culture, local breweries, and fresh regional flavors earning international attention. If nature calls, sail the crystal-clear lakes of Missouri. hike the Tatra Mountains, walk dramatic Baltic Sea cliffs, or explore ancient forests and national parks. Poland is modern, safe, welcoming, and English-friendly, with fast trains, beautiful hotels, and exceptional value compared to other European destinations.

34:03And no matter what kind of traveler you are, you'll find a corner of Poland that feels made just for you. Start exploring at poland.travel for ideas, inspiration, and trip planning resources. Poland. More than you expected.

34:15Jack:And I think this is what we've all wanted for many years, isn't it? Like these organic fan movements to carry some weight with the club. Because we see other clubs do that. And Spurs have often been kind of hesitant to do that. But look, they're seemingly, as you're saying, they're on board with it now. And it's just what we want, isn't it? We want the ability to have more of an organic presence within the stadium. we want to get that stadium sort of like get it more alive again you know and i know people will often like people often say that people wear sort of rose-tinted spectacles when they talk about the old white heart lane yeah i know not every single game it was rocking but still there was a certain atmosphere yeah that we haven't really managed to fully transport over to the new ground properly right and this this type of thing is is the start of that you would hope you know this is when we start talking about like singing sections and all that type of thing but i guess that's you know that's for another day right now it's it's it's sunday and this is huge and it's it's a massive step and it's a testament to the pair of you and and the hard work that you've been doing that this is you know this this is the conversation that we're having we're talking about you know hundreds thousands of people turning up to show the club that you know how much how much it means to them and and you know that's you know i think it's the thing is honestly i think this this season has been a learning for many of us.

35:42Jack:I want to say all of us, but I don't want to talk on everybody's behalf. But I think for many of us, it's been a learning seemingly for the club, for the players and for the fans. And, you know, I think it sort of has hammered home really how much this club does mean to everybody. Because like you said, Stu, after Palace, it was horrific. It's one of the worst feelings I've ever had flying Spurs. And it's not, it sort of transcended the whole life. I got to the point, you know, when we started this terrible season and Arsenal are doing as well as they were and you're getting sort of the piss taken out of you.

36:14Jack:At first, it's that bit. It's that ego. It's like, oh God, look how crap Spurs are doing. People are taking the piss out of me. I don't even care anymore. I don't care what other people have to say about the club. I don't care what anybody has to say about us as a fan. I just want the club to be doing well again. I don't want to be in this position. And, you know, if we can help that, then all the better. I did ask for some questions from listeners and Andy Perry has said, how do we stop Sunday just being a one-off? Should we be looking to do this for every home game to the end of the season? I mean, you have sort of half answered that, Stu.

36:51Jack:How do we, you know, I mean, let's not say if the result doesn't go our way against Forrest, but regardless of what the result is against Forrest, how do you think we keep that energy going? I think it just, like, it all depends, And so obviously on the fans, this is a problem. Obviously, this is a non-star if we don't get people there. This is what it's all going to come down to. We've done our bit now. Me, Jay and the team, we've done our bit now. We've done everything we've had to do. There's nothing else we can do now. So it's up to the fan base now to actually turn up. And if they turn up in the numbers, and it is a great, successful event, which I'm pretty certain it will be, then if the feedback's good and it's something that we can do, we can keep the numbers up and that.

37:33because obviously what I wouldn't want to do is I wouldn't want to do it and go through all this time and this hassle and we get 100 people there. It's got to be worth it, you know, and it's also just staying relevant as well with it because will people get bored of it? Will people want to do it in a winter's cold day type thing? So there's all these sort of things you have to look at realistically and think is it feasible to keep doing it? But for the remainder of the season, it's definitely something we would like to look at doing for now. I think in the bigger picture and the grand scheme of things, like you said earlier, there's always things you can do.

38:03It would be nice to have some sort of, something where we could obviously meet up, if there's diehard fans or whatever, and get together, have a sing or whatever. There's definitely ways around it. I think at the moment, especially just this game and the other home games as well, if possible, if we can get it done, if we can. And I think, yeah, it definitely gives us, like, say, a doorway for future to probably bring something in quite similar, personally.

38:25Jack:Looking ahead to Sunday, Jay, have you got like a final sort of like a rallying cry to get people down there, get people down there in numbers what about people who aren't you know online like a lot of us how are we getting the message out to them you love the club that's the saying i can't say if you don't turn up you don't love the club because that wouldn't be true all i can say is if you can give a little bit to a group of fans who just love the club then turn up with us and stand with us i tell you what if we turn up and we get huge numbers then we go onto that concourse we make the racket we know we can make and then it transitions into the stadium and you don't hear we need to hear that stadium the loudest it has been we need to drown out them not an amphora's fans who are going to be loud because they're wanting the exact same thing they need the points um turn up and if if we give our all and it doesn't go our way the fans can say we played our part and do you know what i think the last two games have shown look at how the players reacted last night, they were clapped off the pitch.

39:26Look at how they were at Liverpool. The club realised how important the fans are. And it is so, so important that the fans realise that we are bigger than people that have paid millions. We're the people that buy from the club. We're the people that spend the money. Turning up, how about we try and make our money's worth of being a fan of this club?

39:45Jack:Sue, are you hopeful about Sunday? You know, not fully off the record, but... No, I am now. I am now. If you asked me a week ago, Chris Wallace, I think I'd have looked at him and thought, you know what? But I look at the results now. I look at the results. I look at the performances now for me. And you've got to remember, they are playing today, tonight as well, abroad. So they're not going to get back until late. They're not going to get back until late tonight as well. Didn't even think about that. We've got an extra rest on them as well. And we all know Thursday, Sundays, we know what it's like.

40:17It's not easy to do. You know, your legs get heavy. And it's an early kick-off on the Sunday as well, which will help us as well. personally I think I don't want to be arrogant or anything but I don't see I think if we win the game I don't see us I just think the whole day is built this way I think the event's going to build it like Jade said in the South Stand the concourse build it up for the game get the result I just think the whole day just seems like it's going to be generated to be one of those days for me where it all comes together and in the biggest game of your season you know these guys I think they will show up now I think the extra push you know when they drive down that high street and they see all them fans there you know with their scarves and their flags and they're waving them around and they're singing their songs singing their names even if that gives them 5-10 % extra that 5 % extra could be the difference between winning a game of football and losing a game of football and I just think personally it's just going to drive the whole club on look I personally couldn't care if we had a stinker and we won the game 1-0 a goal don't bother me but anything anything no Offer Charleston's arse

41:21Jack:you know that sort of thing I'll take it I'll take it but these guys like you said they showed you last night what they're playing for now you know like last night was a massive massive result for the context of our season like you know we haven't just beat a poor side you know we've beaten Athletico Madrid side they're a good side they've got some world class players in that team you know we've gone out there and we've beat them and really we should have beat them by more we could have easily had a couple more goals their first goal really should have disallowed in my opinion to foul on Xavi I thought it was unlucky.

41:53I thought it was very unlucky, you know. And another day, I think we could have nicked another goal, had a real goal last 10 minutes, and they could have been clinging on.

41:59Jack:Even the first leg, we played well. You know, there was obviously, you know, you go 4-0 down, it's going to be tough to come back from that. But it was freakish, wasn't it? That sort of little period at the beginning of the game was mad. It was like aberrative to the rest of the game, where we actually played really well, gave a good account of ourselves. Yeah. I just thought it was naive in the first leg. For me personally, this is why I am not fully behind Tudor in what he's doing. I'm going to back him. I'm not trying to be negative because I want to be a positive person. What we've done against Liverpool is what we should have done against Atletico and Madrid away.

42:37Just went there and just completely sat in. Just played completely on the counter-attack. And for a team, by the way, that does this on a regular basis, absolutely flood the pitch after warm-up, I'm just absolutely shocked that nobody in the club kind of knew what was happening I find it absolutely shocking that nobody we went out there and people had certain boots on and let them go out there I just honestly that actually cost us a place in the next round of the Champions League as well the fact that nobody had a bit of sense to think you know what they do this on a regular basis they've done it against Barcelona there and they do they absolutely flood the pitch they wear the correct studs people wear these little blades whatever slide all over the place it is so unprofessional to think that that's a reason why we're out of the Champions League but if you look at it realistically that is why we're out three slips cost us and that you know

43:27Jack:in a way when when you can kind of you know rationalize it in that way almost makes it a bit less painful you know in a certain sense because it shows you that and and as we have seen in these past few games these players aren't actually quite as useless as maybe we'd started to think they were or at least a lot of the media have been telling us that they are there's a talented group of players and yeah they've had a lot of injuries and they've had to come through a lot but still the players that we're left with are very talented and it's good and you know i just i can't honestly like just as we come to the end this i can't believe that it's forest after all after all the narrative at the beginning of the season the morgan gibbs white maranakis and all that of course it's come to this isn't it like it's it's it's it's hollywood but you know i think we can uh i think we can put them in their place and yeah i'm looking forward to it and you know just just well done lads you know i don't mean that patronizing or anything i like thank you thank you for doing this thank you for sorting this out because like you say you know we have all seen the the stuff that everton put out you know everton were in pretty much exactly this same position as we were a few years back and me sat there i've always had a soft spot for everton i didn't want to see them go um and i remember seeing their fans rally behind it get behind it and thinking, God, I hope we do that.

44:42Jack:I hope that happens at Spurs and you guys have made that happen. So hats off to you. Get everybody pumped for Sunday and get everybody there. Get there. Get outside the bricklayers. Wear white, is it? Wear white, bring your scarves. Yeah, wear white, bring your scarves, bring your voice. That's the most important thing. Let's make that high road absolutely buzzing. just make it such a big party atmosphere and as I said put your feelings behind you towards the ownership I'm somebody who's very passionately enic out and I've never been quiet on that front but there's things that are bigger to me and my football club remaining in the Premier League to me is the biggest thing my kids don't deserve to watch a team in a championship I never had to and I never thought it would be a realistic thing and now I'm sitting here thinking do you know what summer way days in the championship look good, realistically, it would be very hard.

45:41It would be a very long summer, certainly if our opposing side go on to win multiple trophies, which is likely this season. It's going to be a very, very long summer. I've done that yesterday. You're talking about the championship. I've done that yesterday. I sat on the stairs yesterday with the ground behind me, and I sat there just looking at it for about half an hour, literally just sat there, quiet, nothing, just sat there. and I was thinking exactly the same thing. I was sitting there thinking we could actually be in the championship next season and it was like horrible, horrible, horrible thought like thinking that stadium and this whole club, but we're not going to, we're going to stay up, just saying, but I did say that I had a half an hour to reflect yesterday.

46:25It was like one of those moments kind of taking it in a little bit and that's something I'm definitely going to say to Jay and the boys who were there Sunday is like, you know, when this is in full close Sunday you know people like Jane or the boys behind us all the hard work they've put in just to take five minutes themselves and just pat yourself on the back and just reflect on yourself and just think you know what you've helped do this you've helped bring this whole club back to connected you know it's a massive achievement honestly I'm so proud of these boys that have

46:53Jack:helped me do this it's absolutely incredible one final thing Stu um I did have one question from adzy that asked if uh if it's going to be streamed if there's any account or anything that anybody should be following to watch everything unfold and so yeah people who are abroad or whatever who can't who can't make it down to yeah but i'm going to be doing it on my tiktok page on tiktok and i will be streaming the whole well i will do the whole thing obviously that is what i'm going to do and so yeah so people want to watch it and i have obviously i know there's going to be other companies that is going to be obviously by sports people like they're all going to be there but they'll be doing like this short videos type thing but i will stream kind of the whole thing so if people do want to watch it and i'm sure some of the other guys in the group will have their devices as well doing the same sort of thing so yeah there definitely will be ways to watch it but like i said i'll definitely be having mine on anyway so that's it's been a pleasure talking to you thanks very much again for for coming on for talking about this and for as i say sorting it all out getting everyone going and you know let's make it let's make it a good one on Sunday and up the spurs.

47:56Jack:Up the spurs, boys. Cheers, man. Thanks for having us on.

Jack is joined by Stu and Jay to try and harness some desperately needed positivity ahead of a monumentally important weekend for Tottenham Hotspur. We kick things off by reflecting on a surprisingly uplifting night in the Champions League. Despite crashing out on aggregate, the 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid showcased a squad genuinely fighting for the shirt. We discuss Igor Tudor finally securing his first win, the brilliance of the Archie Gray and Xavi Simons. We also touch upon that controversial refereeing decision right before Julian Alvarez's equaliser.

Attention then quickly turns to the grim reality of our domestic campaign and the prospect of a relegation six-pointer against Nottingham Forest this Sunday. Stu and Jay take us through the motivation behind their incredible fan-led movement, 'Show Up. Sing Up. Stay Up.' We explore the mental shift required to put our deep-seated anger towards the board to one side for 90 minutes, simply because the alternative of dropping into the Championship is completely unthinkable.

The lads lay out the exact logistical plan for Sunday, urging everyone to gather at The Bricklayers from 11:30 AM. We talk about the sheer impact a massive, vocal crowd can have when the team coach arrives what it will do to both our players and the opposition before kick-off.
