In short

Rule the Roost episode is a Spurs-focused Q&A mixing football news, transfer talk, and fan culture. The hosts open by reacting to “Son’s message to teammates” and the club’s emotional social posts (“get the tissues ready”), debating whether Son is a “legend” versus Harry Kane, and claiming Son’s loyalty and cup-winning impact outweigh Kane’s record goals. They argue the “star factor” leaving Spurs is likely a clean break: Spurs got about £20m, and Thomas Frank’s more systematic approach could reduce reliance on individual brilliance. Transfer woes are discussed, including the idea Spurs met the release clause for Morgan Gibbs-White but he was “bullied” into a new contract; they say that would have enabled additional signings (Kudus, Palhinha, etc.). They defend loan signing João Pedro? (actually Polina/“Polina” = João Palhinha) as a midfield enforcer profile, citing tackle stats and comparing him to Rice/“specialist” roles. They also discuss AI, shark trivia (Greenland sharks, shark-diving shows), and meme culture.

2:22So thank you so much for your amazing support for 10 years. And come on, you smile. Hello, everybody. Welcome back to Rule the Roost podcast. Welcome back, Flav. Yes. Have you... I'm going to ask you, have you watched the Son videos? guys but i just want to preempt this i want to say i feel like they're the sort of thing you wouldn't watch you'd be like no i'm not watching that not no i'm not watching it i just usually i get on i get past things quite quickly like when someone famous dies i don't care really did you care when the queen dies no not at all oh mate they're always stopping the pod now that's it red did you what of course it is i was saluting every time it was on the tv i saluted She was probably behind taking part of your country.

3:19Was there any part of you that was tempted to queue up and pay your respect? I respect everybody. Do what you want, but don't expect me to do it as well. So, you know, to answer your question, I did. I did. Literally five minutes before recording, I watched Sonny's message to his teammates. and how upset he was. He's seen that one. He messaged the teammates directly. And I'm like, that's a little bit more emotional than the one you said to us as fans. You just said something about a camera and always being in the picture and every photo was of you. You're talking to your teammates. You're in floods of tears.

3:59Barely crying, no one. He's only known most of them. They're all quite new players, aren't they? When he's talking, do you reckon he's thinking about Mattis Tell? No, I think he's shouting out what's his name what's the what's the old piggy center back he used to be good friends of kevin kevin wimmer kevin wimmer that's it burger wimmer that was it um he wasn't very good was he he uh yeah yeah i mean how are you feeling about it all are you are you you're all right you're not you're not you're not you're not even mourning it in the sort of the narcissistic sense of it being a part of yourself dying 10 years 10 years it's just gone like that yeah oh oh oh you're talking about an existential crisis here well maybe yeah yeah yeah 100 that's gone through my mind my mind yeah yeah i watched an episode of grand designs that was um it was broadcast in 1999 and they did a revisit yesterday and i i'm like fuck me is that what i'm gonna look like in 20 years um yeah i guess i'm more concerned about the passing of time and this being marker of 10 years of my life gone than I am about that bothered about him in sudden going you know I mean I I he's about as close to being loved as any footballer can be loved and um I'm getting a fair bit of I don't want to preempt any questions that might come in but I'm getting a fair bit of kickback for doubling down on the fact that Harry Gane isn't a legend at Spurs and Son is a fair amount of kickback like enough to make me think maybe I'm wrong Basically, I think it's a very interesting discussion because I think legend is thrown around quite liberally, isn't it?

5:37I think, I'm assuming that's the point you're getting. You know, you will sort of see people talk about David Ginola being a Tottenham legend. It's like that. I mean, he was an amazing player for Spurs at a certain point in time, but is he a legend? I grew up sort of thinking legends were like Blanche Flower, Hoddle, you know these sort of people that were front and centre of the club and won the stuff with us right and Sonny's done Sonny to me is he is a bona fide legend there's no getting around that what was pointed out to me when I made that argument about Kane is he is the club's record goal scorer I know I get it yeah of course it counts for something he's the best footballer we've ever had I think at the football club probably but it's more for me these are parameters that are moving for everybody depending on what you like but for me what I like is an opportunity that Son had the opportunity to prove his loyalty and for me that means more than any of Kane's goals you don't even have to compare them but these conversations always seem to go down this road he wanted to leave and for me that means that, and I understand why he wanted to leave.

6:57And perhaps in the same situation, I would have wanted to leave as well. I mean, he's looking around him at the dross he's having to play with, right? And broken promises. Maybe I understand it. It's not a problem what Kane did for me. I'm not taking anything away from him. It's just that Sonny didn't, he stayed. And then on his own, without all of those great players that had played before him. He won us a cup as well. And, you know, you could argue about how much value he was in that cup run, but it's irrelevant. He stayed when he could have left. And for me, he will be the closest thing that we will likely ever see to a legend, barring some crazy sort of successful run that we'll inevitably never go on.

7:46But, yeah, Son's a legend, 100%. And I will, I miss him a lot, but I acknowledge everything he's done for sure. Did you see the official account they shared? I'm not sure which one of the videos it was, but one of the Son videos, because obviously there was this triple whammy of Son content last night. And they shared one of them by saying, get the tissues ready. that was the social copy of it was that bit of me it was just like the old me here would have

8:27pulled your trousers down jumped on this to say you know it's not that exciting is it obviously I'm 40 years old now I'm grown up you're exactly the same I am really my dog doesn't change its dick or whatever. I don't know what the expression is. Tiger doesn't change his stripes, is it? I said, maybe. Leopard doesn't change its spots. That's what it is. We've got there. We've got there. Are you... So, look, I mean, the... Obviously, it's a big emotional blow losing Sonny Min. And it's... I still think... I still think it's actually... It's an on-pitch blow as well. He is still and was still last year a major contributor to the side, goals and assists.

9:21Yes, he was on a bit of a decline. We can say that now, I think. But do you worry at all, Flav, do you worry at all that that bit of star factor going from Spurs has a knock-on effect? Or do you think in some ways it's good? Is it a clean break now? It's a new era. Free of Galacticos. Yeah, no, I mean, I think it's good. It was well-timed. He got what he wanted. We got£20 million, you know, and the real worry was that he would have been abused if he didn't play well, right? The relationship sullies, and he got some of that. You can't deny it. There are people out there that went after him in a big way last season.

10:06So it's good that that chapter's closed, and no doubt he would have been an influence in the dressing room. but and that is something that will be lost Thomas Frank said that he would have kept him but maybe he has to say that I don't really think you know football's moved in a way now that the kind of individual superstars tend to not exist no club has them you look at the Brazilian national team and it's like made up of Premier League players system players and I think with Thomas Frank we're going to see a systematic approach to our football. Whereas Posta Koglu is much more kind of nebulous.

10:47It's going to be Frank's pragmatism and drilling that changes the way Spurs operate. And I think if you are that well-drilled and people understand their roles in the side, that you don't necessarily need the stardust of a player like Omincone. Remember, we built him. He wasn't bought that way. He became a world-class player under our tutelage. So it's not like he was signed and everyone was excited. It was like 22 million for a player from that region of the world back then. It just, no one was buzzing for it like they would have been now when we're much more learned people, I guess. But yeah, he became a superstar at Tottenham and that was what's so fascinating about him.

11:29But I don't think there'll be any significant negative impact on him leading. Are you worried about Tottenham's lack of transfer business so far then? I mean, are you, because I'll be honest, I'm sort of getting that way a little bit. There's still a lot of goodwill from me towards the club in terms of, quite like Thomas Frank, I'm obviously really happy that we won the Europa League, even though it was sort of going back a bit. I'm looking forward to the Super Cup. I know people are worried about PSG handing us our arses, but it's just a game at the end of the day. And I think it'll be, you know, it's a bit of a no-lose situation for me.

12:07if you lose it's just a super cup if you win it's quality you know it's a massive thing to have done um i think we're all going into it thinking um we'll probably get beat but if we don't like i don't even believe this but believe me when i say it that's another trophy it's the biggest trophy like it's bigger than the champions league absolutely we've beat the team that you've beaten the champions league winners it's called lineage yeah and if we lose i think well that's fucking poxy little thing anyway shouldn't even be shouldn't even happen so win-win basically uh in terms of transfer business um i so we were talking about this on the fight in court the other day right if so gibbs white the reason why that didn't go ahead you could argue has nothing really to do with spurs we did our job we meet the release clause we met the release clause 99 times out of 100 that results in you getting the player it was on gibbs white to force that once he's accepted, once that is accepted, and then take him to the PFA if, you know, take Maranakis to the PFA if he feels like hard done by.

13:14We probably would have got a man that way, but it was clear that he'd been bullied into signing a new contract and those allegations would have to be proven by someone else. But Spurs done their bit, I think. I know some people say that Levy should have done more. I just don't know. He signed a new contract and that's that. But if that would have happened, that Gibbs-Wyatt transfer would have happened, We would have signed Kudus, Gibbs-White and Palina, three players that definitely improve that squad. So that, at this stage, would have been a good window. So if you look at it, we've got to do work to replace the Gibbs-White transfer now.

13:49But if we'd have done that work at this point, I think I would have been quietly okay with it. Do you accept the fact that there will be people shouting at their mobile devices or car stereos, whatever they're Bluetooth-ing this through now, saying that you're part of the problem? People always say you're paid by elite. I love, I've got to say, I love seeing this. When I see on Twitter threads, fucking Flav Bateman, he's a club stooge. and i just think i just imagine imagine daniel levy and donna cullen sitting around listening to you and ricky talking about ricky having sex with daniel levy in a travel lodge that so the people won't won't know about this but we we uh we do a we got a patron and behind the patron we do this thing called this is tottenham where we just talk about anything that's going on really It's just another Tottenham podcast.

14:47But Ricky, I think it was like if we get certain players through the door, would you have sex with Daniel Levy? And then we described in fine detail with Ricky what that would entail. And it ended up with Ricky having his legs wrapped around Daniel Levy's waist. Face to face. Face to face. Being fucked up against the door of the hotel room. Levy wearing a suit and Ricky completely naked. and just poking his cock through his trousers. Yeah, that's the nonsense that we get up to, basically, behind the paywall. My point was that Daniel Levy and Donna Cullen have listened to this and thought, those are the guys we want as our stooges.

15:33I wouldn't mind, right? I would happily be a stooge for Daniel Levy if he got us access to players and sort of interesting content and stuff we could do with. but they don't even want us to exist, let alone fucking... Literally, the club, in my opinion, would rather podcasts not exist than have to listen to us bleat on about him. There's nothing good, really. There's nothing helpful to the club. And I think we have been really critical of Daniel Levy, and certainly in the last year. And I absolutely categorically think that he needs to leave the football club. and I think a new process has to come into place and especially after that interview with Gary Neville where I thought, oh Christ, we're never going to do it.

16:21We're never, unless we're really lucky, unless Frank is so much better than we think he is and he can get something out of these players that is unimaginable effectively, which is like enough from the title challenge from the players brought in. maybe that might happen in you know one in a hundred times that might happen and daniel if you go see i told you it was just about decision making but if you look at how our competitors i the other members of the big six how they operate and how we operate it's night and day it's completely different and you know when when he mentioned the word regulation again i wanted to throw myself out the window i understand regulation i understand being self-sufficient but we're in a competition with people, Chelsea, who do take every, find every loophole to get a financial advantage and a tactical advantage and, you know, buy these players that give them every chance of being successful.

17:21And we've got our chairman going, well, you know, regulation, regulate, fucking shove your regulation up your ass. I don't want to hear it anymore. I want you to be aggressive. I want you to be like a shark and go after what you want and it just isn't going to happen because it's not who he is well because in that the mask slipped slightly I can't remember exactly what the quote was but he said something he said something essentially to the effect of there are always going to be bigger clubs than us and people just need to accept that and it's like that that's it that's it right there and then your your kind of your mode of operation here is not I want to be the best I want to be the biggest club it's this kind of this reluctance and but some people might say it's just realistic some people will say you're never going to have as much money as a Newcastle or a Manchester City what he's saying is just true and I do I accept that to a degree but the other point is it's just it's it's always that same kind of messaging from them and then we wonder why we seldom get stuff over the line you know and we talk about dna and all this sort of stuff but i think there are more tangible things than this idea of the being a kind of a mystic cloak over the club that we call dna and it's that the people that are in charge of the club are not really putting down this message that they want us to be the best that it's just do what you can get us in the top four that's great if you don't we'll sack the manager again and then you know someone else yeah and we'll blame someone else it'll be someone else's fault i mean on the flip side is because i don't want this to turn into like a whole sort of levy bashing thing the other side of this this summer is that and i i get that it's boring and i know this is the boring answer but when people say we haven't spent money it's like but we have still spent what 40 50 mil on tell we've spent 30 mil on dan so 130 million this summer we spent 700 million net since opening the stadium we're spending the money this money doesn't come from nowhere right like just because just because we've had tell and dan so in on loan last season we've still had to pay for them this year that still comes out of a budget and i get it it's boring we i want i want as much as anybody else does i'm desperate for us for that adam wharton like whatever it was that came out on GB news for a bit, the Brexit bomber as people were calling it for that to be true but equally, like you say, we spent over 100 million already this summer.

19:56Yeah, look and we're in a football landscape where spending within your means gives you the least possible chance of success unfortunately you know what is it like so the Premier League clubs have almost universally agreed to allow you to sell assets to yourself out of the hotel going selling the hotel to themselves and Chelsea and and and the women's team to the tune of 200 million pound I know it's unpalatable but we as a club have said that we're okay with Chelsea doing that at what point would we operate in a way where we're leading that like I don't want to be Chelsea but in some some some part of me looks at it and go why have they got all this luck how have they had back-to-back owners who just drive and pump money into the to the football club and people might say well it's a shame that you have to spend money and you have to pump money into a club in order to be successful.

21:03Spurs did it in 61. We spent more money on our squad than anybody else. It's always been that way. Is that true? Yeah, yeah. They spent huge amounts of money on that side. You know, we were the first club to potentially, or would have been, our first£100 ,000 player in Jimmy Greaves if it hadn't been a penny under£100 ,000. So he wasn't that player. We've always, generally in football, Blackburn when they when Jack Walker broke the bank to not to to get them success um you know Manchester United over many years consistently spending the most amount of money and pillaging other football clubs it's always been about spending power Jack Walker was just lightning in the bottle that was just literally a rich old businessman and wanted to see him win something before he died wasn't it yeah yeah yeah and and fair play like it wasn't sustainable and Daniel believe he has a has a point where just spending frivolously in the pursuit of an unguaranteed pursuit of success isn't the way forward but we could be a little bit we could be significantly more aggressive than we have been it feels like a passive football club at times and um you know that energy trickles down into the to the rest of the club like so much is enough well you want us to be more aggressive as a football club that brings real nicely to the signing of wow polina i like it he's he's a massive man before the season even kicks off soccer fans are already making predictions who wins the league who qualifies for europe and who's lifting the trophy at season's end on calci america's number one prediction market platform you're trading against peers in a live market meaning there's no house and as the probability changes you can buy in and out of your position.

It's like a toddler with her dad. yeah he's a massive bloke look it's obviously it's proven to be uh a weirdly divisive signing has it um i think so yeah i think i think quite a few people aren't aren't very happy with it they see him as a bit of a thug a bit of a clogger if you like um i don't know he played is it portuguese international clogger is a bit unfair isn't it i i think so too i i i'm quite fond of the idea of having a midfielder that can tackle.

25:10I'm just saying. I know that kind of his distribution comes into question and that perhaps, you know, his short passing is his best sort of, what he does best. And his long passing is something left to be desired. But I've seen footage of him hitting balls on the break and doing all right. And look, he's a specialist player. We don't have another one of him. Like, Pesuma is the closest to him. And he, you know, he's not Paulinho. You see that stat of him getting 300 tackles over a two-season period. And the next closest was Caicedo on 191. He had 109 more tackles than his closest rival when he was in the Premier League.

25:59So, it's a free transfer. You're saying he's available, not free, alone, sorry, loan fee he's available on a loan fee of five million pound we don't have to sign him that he isn't worth bringing in when he was at fulham a few years ago people going potty i think arsenal were linked with him i think city were linked with him and everyone was excited about him and now we've gotten him from like you say from by munich for free for a year at least i think i don't know i think there's a few loan fee yeah 30 mil or something like that maybe to make it permanent it just i don't know it seems like a it seems like a good deal to me and look people don't come to me for like cutting tactical insight or anything but I feel like having a massive midfielder that can sweep up kick lumps out of people can really be aggressive in those where we've really lacked it and this is what I'm saying like when you're talking about like profiles specialist players when I think about games like Liverpool I think about games like Arsenal where it's a real where it's a war in midfield and you have to win that having someone like him in there that, sure, maybe it's not going to be the most technically sound, but still gives you an element of control.

27:10Fucking crunches them. On the owl, someone getting crunched. There's nothing wrong with that. Think about when Declan Rice is buzzing about getting loud of everyone. Someone like Polini just... Nails him, yeah. Just fucking sends him up in the air. There's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with it. If you can do it in a controlled way that doesn't get you sent off, fucking put him up in the air. Yeah, and then we got all these little lads around him. Saar, Bergvold, all that buzzing around, picking up loose balls, running it forwards. We'll be fine. It's all going to be good. It's all going to be fine.

27:42We're going to win the league. Maybe. I mean, not what this season or like in a few years or... Yeah, no, I mean, this season, this is where we're, you know, I think this is the season. I think, or there'll never be a season. I don't know. Every year I say the same thing. I just like living in a world I think legitimately I could put an argument across that we could finish fifth and we'd take fifth I think without a question yeah I think I'll take that you think you would? I think I'll take fifth what's the lowest expectation for Frank? the game's changed a bit hasn't it in the Premier League like it's something that we've been lying down and the grass has grown around us a bit so I feel like there's at least like the top eight is strong in the Premier League now I mean I'm sort of saying eight quite arbitrarily but I'm thinking obviously Arsenal, City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle, Villa are decent so that's at least six who am I leaving out I mean Manchester United have signed a lot of good players this summer.

29:01I think Amarim might be all right. You start to sort of go back down to teams like Forest, who are good now. Brighton are good. There's a lot of really good teams in the Premier League. So maybe top eight. Should we say top eight? Yeah, okay. I still think we're fifth. I think Villa will fall away. Obviously, I haven't been able to spend. Hopefully. Yeah, wages to revenue is, they're out of sync, basically out of whack, and they can't really sign players. Newcastle, as you see, is struggling. players turn them down left right and center which I find hilarious the amount of you know in my line of work I have to spend time and listen to fans of other football clubs and I've got to say that Newcastle fans are mental like oh absolutely crazy so um you know the fact that these these big names that they're trying to go after are turning them down is is going to weaken them and I think this ESAC situation weakens them significantly as well so I think there's an opportunity this season for Spurs and one of the big four big five in terms of like you know, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and City, one of them will fall.

30:02Like, I don't know what it will be, but one of them will fall because it always tends to happen. Have you seen Giocares' highlights against Villarreal? I did. It was funny. I don't get involved at this level. It's just a friendly, but... Look, the thing is, you want to keep your powder dry to a degree, But all I'm saying is we could be looking at a generationally bad signing. What, based on a three-minute highlight reel? Entirely that, mate. That's just how football works, isn't it? Of course it is. Eye test, you know it. You know it. Yeah, yeah. It's the way he was like flapping his leg about and not getting on the end of stuff.

30:45You know, I don't know. It's funny, isn't it? Because he was out and out the leading goal scorer in Europe last year in terms of goals or goal involvements or something along those lines. And you think that every big club would have been in for him, like Real Madrid, anybody would have been in for him if he was that good. And all I've been hearing is like, he will struggle from people that know about as much as me, I guess. You know, we're talking about other people in this space. But generally the narrative, not even from Spurs fans, from United fans who are linked with Gokic as well, was that without the time afforded to him that he received in the Portuguese league.

31:23He's a relatively limited forward. So I don't know, mate. I wouldn't tweet that because I couldn't be asked with the fallout. But fingers crossed, mate, you shit. Some Arsenal fans saying they won't even finish in the top four. I think we could take their spot in the top four. I've really got to find this, mate. There's a really interesting thing I heard not long ago that there's something that he, I think even in the Portuguese league, he didn't score a goal against the top four in the Portuguese league. There's something like that that I've seen flying about as well, which I think is quite delicious.

32:05He... Ask ChatGPT what his limitations are. Yeah, go on. I talked to it like a person though. Will it pick up? Will you hear my desktop? I don't think it will. I don't think it will, mate. Hang on, hang on. We might be able to... Let's have a look. Can you... Do you have the option to share?

32:29Yes. There you go. Yeah, but you'll see all my pornography now. It's all right. Chrome tab. Okay.

32:40All right. Does that work? Lovely.

32:48hello chat gpt can you tell me gokares's limitations as a forward and why he might struggle in the premier league absolutely so victor gokares is a talented forward but if we think about the kind of limitations he might face in the premier league a few things come up one is the physicality and speed of the league. While he's certainly strong and has done well in other competitions, the Premier League can be a step up in terms of the intensity of defenders he faces begin and week out. He might find it tougher to hold off Premier League center backs or to find that extra yard of space. Another point could be consistency at the highest level.

33:27Sometimes players who shine in slightly less competitive leagues need a little time to adapt to the Premier league's pace and tactical demands and lastly his link-up play or versatility might be tested if he's mostly used to playing a certain style or against certain types of defenses he may need to broaden his game to fit into a premier league system but of course that doesn't mean he can't succeed it's just about adapting to that level there you go i was just thinking that you know us like me and you sat there listening to that and the listeners here we've effectively turned into the apes from the start of 2001 space odyssey i mean she she has summed that up better than i could ever yeah i'm sat there nod along like this is really insightful it's actually quite interesting isn't it yeah i think yeah i think this is it i mean the fact the fighting cock is kind of relatively known for its wank jokes might mean that we survive this ai apocalypse because I don't think AI can do that maybe, but maybe they can.

34:30I don't know. Don't doubt it. Have you seen the, have you seen, I think we can talk, we can say this, I think, although I'm a bit worried more about if it will be picked up in a few years' time. Have you seen that people are now using slur words for AI? They're calling them clankers. I don't like that. that is the start of a post-apocalyptic horror movie when AI take over um I find it all really really quite scary but also fascinating I don't yeah I don't really find it scary in the uh in the sort of Terminator sense I don't think there's going to be like well I don't know actually have you seen those those Boston Dynamics videos those They're knocking the boxes out of its hands with hockey sticks and stuff.

35:23It looks really cruel. Those geezers are going to get it, man. Yeah, I hope they do. They're going to have the skin peeled from their bodies. Yeah, and then they're going to wear the skin. Yeah.

35:35So I've done some research into this, and I've watched a couple of videos about how AI might take over the world. and essentially the best example of it is not it ending up by terminator but it ending up like you will not be able to live without it it will it will do everything for you and i say it this automated processes that make your life easier to the point where you can't do anything without it i use chat gpt about 40 times i've got it on constantly not talking to it like that but I'm using it more as a search engine than I do Google now. It's just much more intelligent. It just doesn't give me up websites for people of opinion.

36:18It gives me, and some bits can be incorrect and it doesn't get everything right. Well, that's it. That's when it's naff, isn't it? When you sort of say to it, what do you think about Spurs this season? And it starts saying, well, Christian Gross is going to be a great manager for you this year. If you keep Teddy Sheringham fit and firing, you know, you're like, mate, come on turn it if you pay do you pay for it no yeah if you pay for it it does for stuff in modern era it scours the web and creates a collated opinion as opposed to it just so it gives you up-to-date information now but not you know do you fancy it um i love so they are you know that ex machina is like i think both one of both of our favorite films like i adore that film and the idea that you can create a physical emotion that's the the a robot can't that the robot can conjure that type of emotion in you is fascinating so have you seen her as well the brilliant film yeah it was brilliant very ahead of its time actually we've we've gone we were massively off where is thursday pod anyway it's all right you know madison has uh gone i've got the knife as expected.

37:32It's an ACL. It's an ACL? Yeah, apparently. Someone just told me that on WhatsApp, though, so it could... Yeah, it is an ACL. But that's basically the season? Yeah, it's season done. Yeah, pretty much. Right. Poor Buff. That's good. Just get it, Zane. Get it. Do it. I know I was saying about we've spent loads, but we have to do it. We need to play out. We need to do it. Or bring Donnelly back. Do you know what I mean? There's got to be... There has to be an option, surely. Some way we can do this. It's got to be Eze. It's got to be him now. Yeah. Just make him feel wanted. Do you know what I mean?

38:08Say, look, Arsenal, they've been dragging their heels. I know we went after Morgan Gibbs-White, but look. You're going to start for us every game. As long as you're fit. You will literally be the man. You will be the guy, you know? Yeah. Go on. Dan Greesby asks on Twitter, how much responsibility does Flav take for could we ultimately resulting in Anger's downfall but us winning the Europa League I take complete responsibility for it so the could we thing came out of a conversation I was having with James Alcott and then we went for it big on the fighting call just thought it was funny because obviously we couldn't but could we and then it just sort of took a life of its own so So, yeah, I think everyone accepts that those first 10 games were essentially a death knoll for Poster Coglu.

39:05We didn't realise it at the time, but everyone was like, cool, that bit was good, but it's been pretty shit since then. If you take that away, it's been really shit. Yeah, man, I mean, it was a funny bit that sort of took legs and people run with it, really. It's good when it ends up on T-shirts other people have made. That's good. I like the – because you always see the little Olcott. Olcott's thing is a gif now when he looks to us. So good. Brilliant. Yeah. It's a great moment. Could they? Wow. Not safe for work, Coise, says, Just seen Flav in a hotel in London. I asked if he was going on Rule the Roost.

39:44He laughed and winked at me and grabbed me by the hair, dragged me into a toilet and fingered me while whispering, I prefer the extra inch over and over in my ear. Make of that what you will. You will. Obviously, this is a send-up of your now, I'm going to call it, mate, I'm going to call it meme template because it's quite weird. I actually see you can go down like a Twitter thread, you can go underneath a Romano thread, and you'll just see like whatever, an Everton fan making this same sort of joke. And I think, I know where that came from. Do you feel a sense of pride about that? What about, I knew when I was writing it that it was good.

40:26like I knew it was funny and I knew it would do well on Twitter but bearing in mind this is 2019 when it was? Yeah, it was Dibala when Dibala looked like he was coming wow he didn't come because of that tweet that was why he didn't arrive there weren't no image rights issues he saw that tweet and thought we were all freaks so I yeah I mean if I rehash it now people think I'm nicking it which is a bit of a weird one like it takes everything in me going no no no i did it first no it was mine you look like a cock then don't you um i i uh i so i did it again recently and i was really hesitant to do it and it actually did bigger numbers than the first one did and i can't remember who it is it wasn't kudos it was someone else i don't even think they arrived it might have been frank actually and i'm thinking do i i was really hesitant to do it but i had a glass of wine and i was like oh fuck it but by the same token i'm dming miguel dolaini who wrote a book about uh you know he works for a broadsheet newspaper but also wrote a book about petro states in football and i really want to talk to him and he's probably looked at my feed and thought who the fuck is this dickhead so i just got to really realize that maybe i'm not you know mid-30s and kind of get away with this stuff anymore and i'm you know if i want to try to kick on and better myself i've got to stop talking about being fingered in the toilet by some football who might be coming to spurs do you want to come on the lab miguel i promise football chat on there and he said yes and then said no then kind of pied me off later and so i'm like has he seen has he seen it so i'm not gonna i even like hesitated on the quote tweeted Ben Bowman's he did a great TikTok about about essentially Newcastle being a cuck for the rest of the Premier League because they can't get any players through the door and I posted that and I thought is that a good look if I want to get Miguel Delaney I don't know maybe it ain't I don't know I've had a in a in a previous workplace I'll say that me and a colleague we worked pretty hard to try and secure an interview with a prominent female broadcaster.

42:45But we had obviously, you know, we sort of worked on an editorial team and there was a social team who to stay up to date with like social trends would post lots of memes and all that type of thing. We managed to secure this kind of meeting after being like, no, look, we promise we're going to come to you properly. We're going to ask you all these different questions, have pre-screened questions, all this type of thing. and um when it was coming up to the the point of the interview we just got an email back from her basically saying i won't be going ahead with the interview and a screenshot from our company's uh the screenshot from our company's um twitter feed which was like a kind of when her indoors asks you to do it was like one of those you know i think it was like one of those on the tools like jokes where it's like the lads holding up a drill in the pub sort of thing.

43:35Yeah, yeah. It was really worded in the like, when Erwin Dawes asks you, when you're coming home type thing. And we were just like, yeah, okay. It's actually turned out to be quite a boring story. I don't really know why I shared that. No, no, no. But the connection between, and the thing is, it spurs as well, Jack, is like the tone of Tottenham's admin compared to the football club kind of jars somewhat. I think we've actually got a good social media presence. But what you have to do in order to kind of be relevant in that social media space doesn't necessarily align with how Daniel Levy perhaps want the club to be perceived.

Yeah, I think they were fighting against that for quite some time, weren't they? I feel like, and now they've just, they fully, I mean, they stopped just short of saying war a trophy on Arsenal tweets and stuff now, don't they really? I quite like that. I quite like a bit of personality from the social feeds. Yeah, same, same. I like the fact that that is now completely turned on Arsenal. They used to do it to us when we won it, and now fans of all clubs are just saying that to them.

46:07Very good. Yeah, that's amazing.

46:13Let me just get my questions back. This is more of a talking point, actually. Here's one. Mathis Mills on Blue Sky says, the Greenland shark can live longer than 300 years. Icelandic people have been known to eat them occasionally. Apparently, they have to cook for days in the sand as their flesh is so tough. And even after all that, it tastes terrible. It's a rites of passage type thing more than anything else. I've been to, I lived in Iceland for a while. It's a delicacy. They call it halkal. Really? Yes. So you have a, you basically, if you're in like a, you can be in like an Icelandic pub and you'll say, okay, I can't remember what it was.

46:56There was a word for like the combo that it was, but what they give you is basically like this, this is almost like plastic Petri dish with a lid on it. And inside of that. Huh? I'm looking at it now. It's fucking disgusting. Yes. There'll be like a tiny little like cube of this shark meat in it. You get a cocktail stick to eat it with. And then what you're supposed to do is eat that and then follow it up with a shot of this stuff called Breniovin that they drink out there. It's like a licorice-y, aniseed-y, sort of very strong schnapps thing. But I've done this before. The shark, what I can liken it to is you have a cat, don't you?

47:35Yeah. You know when the cat's litany is changing, there's that acrid stench of cat piss? Yeah. That's what it is. Oh, my Lord. It's literally that. and it's so overwhelming when you put it in your mouth it's it's fermented it's it's horrific it's it's and people locally are they they also accept that it's horrific yeah it's like a it'll be like a you know it's the sort of thing where i think maybe the older school lot did it for whatever reason for something medicinal but the younger ones there would sort of do it as in like you know if somebody lost a drinking game or some thing like that you could do it in the in the pub whereas we might have you know shot a jägermeister or something they'll do that as like a forfeit or a bet or i don't do you know i mean it's i mean you're you're eating an animal that could have been swimming around for hundreds of years so i can't imagine it would have been it could ever be uh as you know something you'd want to eat and i guess is that there isn't a lot to do in iceland is there i mean you can look at the northern lights that's quite nice how many times it's like fireworks in it after five minutes it's like all right um i the greenness shark also all of them are blind did you know that no yeah they have a parasite that lives on their eyes that basically renders them every single one of them blind and you can see the parasite on it and they don't reach sexual maturity to well over 100 years virgins yeah so the categorically the saddest animal in the sea and they don't move very quick and um yeah they like they can live over 400 years old which is older than some countries on this planet which is crazy.

49:17I always thought they were like basking sharks. I thought they were those sort of things that just filtered up krill and stuff and then I once saw a picture of one of them tearing a seal to pieces which I found weirdly shocking. They generally eat a sort of carcass like what would you call it you know like roadkill but in the sea. So they'll come across a seal carcass and eat that or a whale carcass and eat that. I don't think they hunt like they're quite slow moving. Would you swim? Would you be one of those people that swam alongside one or would you be scared of it? I wouldn't be scared of a Greenland shark.

49:50You'd be nervous getting into a water with any big animal, but... Well, that's it. A big body of water is scary alone. Yeah, that's scary. Yeah, yeah. Like, yeah, I'd be more concerned with like leopard seals than I would at the Greenland shark probably. But have you been watching the... celebrities go shark diving no i do i i do actually want to watch that it's legitimately good program like someone who loves sharks like i do so what some of what they're actually doing it's like pretty gnarly like is i thought oh they'd be with sort of like tame sort of maybe you know like something like a black tip reef shark something that isn't really known for attacking humans they are in the water like they are legitimately in the water with dangerous animals it's it's insane how do you got the sign off i don't know but well let's let's stay on shot mobile spurs uh says as well to you on blue sky i think as well um if you had the opportunity to swim in the same waters where jaws 2 was filmed knowing that there are always hammerhead bull and tiger sharks within 300 yards of you would you swim there because we do jaws 2 was filmed at various locations between Pensacola and Navarre.

51:06Yeah, Florida. Yeah. Would you swim there? I wouldn't know. I'd feel very uncomfortable swimming there. It sounds horrendous. Look, there's one thing knowing that, you know, the likelihood of you being attacked by a shark, even if you're with one in the water. There's a guy called the Malibu Artist, which is a brilliant YouTube channel. He just does drone sharks where he's following mostly great white sharks and how close they get to you, these people without attacking them all the time is fascinating and revealing. But I still wouldn't want to chance it. It's like people, I don't want to get on an aeroplane really unless I have to.

51:42And I know the likelihood of me going down is very limited, but it's phobia, isn't it? I'm terrified of being eaten by a shark for sure. It would be horrible. Being eaten by, being turned into something else is shit essentially. Yeah, yeah, yeah. did you ever see the Egypt one yeah I didn't watch it all the way through but it's got this stuff gets shared doesn't it on the internet I've seen it about 400 times probably what's wrong with you I don't know what are you doing what are you doing it's that is so it's like your worst nightmare watching your worst nightmare it's like weirdly compulsive be like Harry Kane signing for Arsenal and winning the double.

52:31That sort of thing. That would not be nice, would it? Yeah. Speaking of Harry Kane, All Killer No Filler on Blue Sky says, Is the outpouring of love for Son from the club's social media a bit of a snipe at Kane? 16 posts on Instagram alone from last night about Sonny, and I don't recall Kane getting anywhere near as much. Or is this just me looking for drama? Probably something in it, isn't it? Yeah, of course. I mean, Kane didn't deserve that 16 posts on Instagram, did he? He wanted out. He wanted to leave the football club. He did an interview while under contract at Tottenham with Gary Neville saying, I want to go to Manchester City and£100 million of fair price to play, removing complete leverage from the football club.

53:14You can't. I don't want to repeat what I said earlier, but it's fine for some fans and maybe the club to feel differently about Harry Kane than they do Humin Son. Humin Son is universally loved, I think. And Harry Kane would have been if he would have further destroyed his career by staying with us. But probably he thinks that, and he's right, that he deserved to go and win something elsewhere. But Sonny stayed and that's why he gets the adulation. That's what it is. Even when I mentioned, I put a tweet, I can't remember exactly what it was, but saying we all love you, Sonny. I don't know who I'm talking into he's never going to see this fucking message but you stayed with us and legend and like a few of us a few of the people responded that going what is that a dig at Kane and like in a way yeah it is a dig at Kane deserves it deserves it he went didn't he and won a dinner plate in Germany and that's what made me sad you know I think Cal tweeted this but it sums it up perfectly he heard it from someone else he's like Kane left to win a trophy son stayed to win us one and that that that's it in a nutshell already do you know what because i say do you not really annoyed me about that tweet from cal is because it was so sincere and it was such a nice tweet from cal usually such a horrible individual exactly because it's the sort of thing if i wrote that it'd be nice tweet oh i like son oh i'm so original and i was like i want to reply that to cal purely because he'd say that type of thing to me i'm not going to because it's nice yeah well you know you know because you're a decent human being you know i mean you know that's what he's like on twitter he's like that all day in whatsapp as well just doesn't stop he never relents to the point right cal come on now just we just said it was nice to see you earlier was it nice to see each other

55:17I said something about, I can't remember, Hainsey, good friend of mine, obviously. Yeah. He posted something at the end of the season that was all kind of like, you know, been a great year for me, great year for Spurs, up the Spurs. And I said like, quite a sincere, well in mate, you know, you deserve it, whatever. Just cow dives in, all right, Beggy Mitchell. And like, but your actual friends, like, Beggy Mitchell. Arsehole. Richie Coyes on Twitter says, not a question, more of a statement. You two are my favourite Spurs podcast hosts. But don't take that as too much of a compliment. I'd have my two favourite inmates on the nonce wing.

56:09So whatever the situation, he always has two favourites. I don't know where he is. That is good. Cheers, Rich.

56:21Was it Richie Coyes? Yeah. Oh, I know. Yeah, he's a good lad. This is a good one, actually. And Leslie on Twitter. If you could change... So, Flav, this is to you. If you could change places with Son just seconds before he scored a goal, what goal would you choose and how would you celebrate it?

56:49I would probably change it oh man I was going to say the Son goal against Arsenal it was behind closed doors so there was no one there we had the one under Ange remember when he went out I think he shushed the clock in didn't he as well there's that as well there is that but you know that curling shot that made it look so easy but it was incredible

57:15it would be it probably would be the equaliser for Spurs versus Arsenal I'd just jump in the crowd and start lamping like fighting spitting I would have a block of butter in my pocket and I'd take all of my clothes off and I'd just butter myself up so they can get any purchase on me like Bonson they couldn't get any purchase on me and I'd just fly into the fucking Arsenal stand and just batter some kids their dads are trying to get me off and I'm like, no, fucking, this kid's getting it smash the kid up, probably like that I'd love to speak with people like, what's going on here? you'd hear Peter Drury like spectacular scenes unfolding at the Emirates there's a button up him in sun fighting children picking a packet of butter from his pocket as if he were pulling the sword from the stone in an Arthurian legend one of his sort of soliloquies that he goes off on yeah beautiful Billy T asks if Gary Neville hooked Flav up with one question to ask Levy as part of an overlap piece what would that one question be I think seriously the serious answer would be if we take into consideration the fact that this approach to running the football club isn't going to really ever give us a chance of winning the league isn't it time you left that would be the question like if you don't think we can do it in this model and you've proven over and over again that we cannot why are you still here because the point of this football club of any football club is and certainly the size of this football club is to achieve success and glory so what are you still doing here is what I would say I'd ask him that question wouldn't you be worried about him handing you your P45 yeah he might go he might go well that's all that money wasted through the years isn't it we'll talk about this in your performance review later on and look I like I don't dislike Daniel Levy I'm not one of those people who's a cunt he's a money grabbing all that that's not how I feel about him like Jose Mourinho Yeah, yeah.

59:39He was going to reveal him, wasn't he? Yeah. I don't feel any ill will to him. I don't want anything. I just think I just no longer align with his way of running the football club. And I think football's changed and we haven't changed with it. And I swear to God, if I hear him say regulation one more time, I might run in front of an Aveco.

1:00:05Aveco. do you know what's annoying though and again yes i know i'm i've been levy pilled and i'm a cuck and all this type of thing but the annoying thing is when we do stuff the way we do i think about like i think about bill bow think about that europa league it just hits different for us you know this or this this as spooky's always called it this this like edging that tottenham do to us you look at man city man city don't care when they win stuff now yeah they can care less they don't care Liverpool care still you know and they operate in a vaguely this summer notwithstanding they didn't spend last summer and they won the league they didn't spend a penny in January and a penny in summer so they had the money so it was I don't know it's because I do I worry about I worry about the alternative I worry about the idea of us becoming this kind of team that just every single year spends 300 million pounds until we end up winning something.

1:01:08It's not having to spend£300 million. It's having the appetite to go after the best players. That's the issue. We don't have the appetite to operate in the way that Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal do. And maybe we're not financially in that situation. Again, another nod to... I know, speaking to someone else. A pod I did with a guy called Anastasia Pang on the lab. And it's quite sobering in that, despite us generating huge amounts of money, the outlays and the cost of running Tottenham is high compared to Arsenal. And, you know, if you just look at the loan repayments for the stadium, they're to the tune of about£25-30 million a season, which isn't massive when you consider the amount of money that we borrowed for the stadium.

1:01:56But it does mean that other clubs like Arsenal around us have£30 million cash a year that we don't have. and that is a sizable amount of money. That is down payment on free transfers probably. So we will potentially get there. We'll get to a position where we could go after players like Beckham Rice or be in that ballpark. But at the moment, we just, and we won't be, it's seemingly for a while in this current model, be able to do that. And it's frustrating because it costs the same amount of money for us to get in as it does Arsenal fans, but they're getting everything and we're not able to compete that way.

1:02:39And, you know, with new owners that come in with different ideas about how to run the football club, we would instantly be in that situation. Now, what are we asking for here? When I say that, people think I want fucking oil money. I want Qataris to come in and buy Spurs. I don't want that. I don't think nation-backed states should start to get a stranglehold on the Premier League. I don't think that's a good thing at all. That's why PSR is so important. I know Aston Villa, John McGinn, for example, this week said, PSR is restricting us from being able to compete with the Big Six because our owners want to spend money, but they can't.

1:03:21All right, I'm sorry about that. But if you take away all the restrictions, then there's nothing stopping a complete whitewash of ownership from areas of the world that only want control of that to create political gain. Essentially, the Premier League becomes a puppet, a political puppet, for institutions around the world that want to change perception about their country. Potentially. Is that a good thing? All 20 clubs owned by politically motivated organisations? I don't think it is. So I'm sorry, John McGinn, that you couldn't convince Rashford to stay, but there's a greater picture here that needs to be understood and viewed.

1:04:03Do you know one thing I really liked that Levy jumped on? And this is one thing, because obviously he's worked hard to get Spurs to where they are. When Gary Neville tried to make the example that, well, don't you think it's unfair? You sat here talking about regulation as the guy in charge of Tottenham Hotspur, when you've got teams like Aston Villa and Newcastle who want to catch up. And he was just like, he was basically like, I've spent two decades building this club up to this point. 100%. That is one thing, honestly, that's one thing that rattles me when Newcastle, Villa fans, all those types talk us, make out that we're part of this cartel.

1:04:50I'm like, lads, you are more, way more that than we are. we we've we've we've done the yards on this mate like yeah yeah so we've spent 20 years arguably in the eyes of football doing the right thing self-sustainable revenue generation bringing our own incomes in based on the operations of the football club and suddenly just because you've got an oil rich owner with a political agenda you just want the rules ripped up why where's the payoff for tottenham for doing things the right way in inverted commas you just don't want to do it you don't want to do the work you don't want to wait 10 years you want everything now that's what it is you want everything now if you want to blame someone blame a Mike Ashley for not building not not not having the vision to do what Man City had done you know I don't like what Man City done and how they've acquired their success but they are generating huge amounts of money there is a blueprint of how to do it Manchester City were not a fashionable football club when they took them over they're now generating record revenues more so than almost anybody in the Premier League, I think.

1:05:50Certainly more than anyone in the Premier League, actually. So there is no example to do it, but football fans, as ever, just want everything immediately. You know, there's... Newcastle fucking voted for PSR rules. I don't... Your club voted for them. So, what now, because your circumstances have changed, oh, no, no, it's all the cartel. It's the big cartel. Your fucking club voted for the fucking rules. How is it the big success cartel, you fucking morons. Sorry. You can tell I still. Be nice if we, well, it's good. You got to get it all out here, mate, because you can't do it on the overlap.

1:06:25Honestly, as I say to you on WhatsApp, I don't know. I get rattled watching. Whenever you're on the overlap and I see someone like, and I know your pals are Rory, so I'm not going to start digging him out here. But when I see Rory going for it, going on his sort of, his little pre-prepared thing he has about Tottenham that he will cycle through. I used to work with Boovy, and it's much the same with him. He has that sort of whole thing. Yeah, that's right. I get too emotional about that, mate. If you need to vent it somewhere, fine, do it here. I would have no issue with talking about Newcastle in that fashion.

1:07:05Probably not exactly like that on the overlap, but it is a weird situation. It's a weird thing, that program. because you don't really realize when you're on it, just how big it is. You're on the studio and it feels very friendly. And, you know, Carragher, I know people, you know, he's derided in some sections and he's done things in the past that are probably not very palatable. Spitting at children. Yeah, you know, spitting at kids, really. But he, I've got to say, just as an ex-Champions League winner and a Liverpool legend and all that shit, He's just a very normal bloke and will listen to you.

1:07:48And he's very approachable. And same with Paul Scholes is another one. But the fallout to making an even slight error when you're speaking is massive. It's huge. I made a mistake on there when I said Romero is constantly suspended. what I was trying the point I was trying to make in my mind was that that he's at that time through injury he had essentially played 1-2 for Tottenham back when the big injury he had this year so the conversation was about his future and I was like can you really rely on him because he's played 1-2 and I mentioned which I shouldn't have done the suspensions being an issue and he's not despite the sort of perception of him he actually hasn't missed that many games through suspension mate it was ridiculous it's the amount of fucking people I've got.

1:08:40Like, a bit of abuse I've got. Like, this guy doesn't know he shouldn't be representing Tottenham. This guy knows nothing about Tottenham. Like, I know a little bit about Tottenham. You know, we've been doing the pod for 11 years talking about it. People listen to it. So I'm not coming that out of the loop. But I just clearly made a mistake. Nothing. Nothing about Tottenham. Absolutely nothing about this game. Nothing. I mean, it was being perpetuated by people that would have wanted would want to be on there, to be honest. Anyway, yeah, let's just say it like that. He's a wanker, right? This geezer, he's just...

1:09:15I can't even remember his fucking name now, but one minute he's fucking kissing my ass in my DMs and the next minute he's slagging me off and I'm like, well, what's going on here? Anyway, never mind. Just wants to be close to the light. That's where you've got to take it, mate. That's where you've got to take it. I've taken plenty of your time today. I'm just going to end it on this from Carl Newman who says, how annoyed and frustrated are you about the constant blah, blah, blah? When are you going to finish the pin badge orders? I have finished them. What do you want? You ain't got one, have you not?

1:09:52He then said, I just hope this gets a rise out of him. I have actually received my pin badge. Motherfucker. It worked. It worked. It worked because you delayed it. You didn't read it all.

1:10:08I do still have some. I don't know why I want to open. The problem is, so many of the people who listen to, a lot of the people who listen to the fighting cop are from the States, which is fantastic. I sound like 30%, something like that. And then obviously they want a free pin badge, which is what we offered. But then you take a post office and it's like four or five quid, like$7 to send one. You've got 100 people from the States. you're talking about I'm suddenly 700 quid down for a free pin badge so uh you might as well just fly over with them it would cost the same well you fly over with them and say pigs come and see me in this place right rattle a big can watch a whew running from all corners of the states you know yeah um so I think everyone's been so I think there's some people that haven't you know I know a good friend Austin Bear Bethnal Green Bear I don't know if you know Austin he hasn't received one and that's intentionally he's never going to get one and he will be listening to this you're never going to get one Austin okay

1:11:25thank you Flav legend thank you mate people obviously know and love the fighting cock you are is it is it fair for me to say you're putting a lot of care and attention right now into the lab where yeah i just like really enjoy doing it like the fighting cock the fighting cock kind of takes care of itself you know we just turn up depending on what's happening and just just we speak to each other and that's what we've been doing for all those years but the lab it takes a lot bit more work and i'm just enjoying finding things to talk about and and um really interestingly people are putting themselves forward like with stuff that they might talk about it's awkward when it's not interesting and they put it so put themselves forward but no typically people have been um and it's been well received and it's starting to do some decent numbers as well in terms of listenership so um yeah there's tons and tons of uh podcasts i've done on the lab that you can go back and listen to uh which are a lot of it is um a lot of it is sort of evergreen so you can pick it up as and when you want um and there's been some sort of contentious issues and there's been some less so contentious issues but there's one that everybody hated where where i spoke to a guy about um qatar's failed bid for tottenham got accused of being a part of the sports washing process that was fun that was habs wasn't it you spoke to yeah yeah yeah yeah sorry i didn't know if you knew him um so yeah habib bulah he came on and we talked about that so but there's it's there's just lots of different interesting things i think are interesting we did an interview for example with um a irish journalist about mason milio he's that guy we've uh signed fromst patrick's over in a record irish transfer yeah so there's lots of good stuff and if you don't want to listen to stuff about spurs um or you've sick to death of spurs podcasts then you can um you can listen to football between the lines the podcast i do with hltco all lads are not don't don't do ricky dirty.

1:13:25All the lads are on the moss. I've got you back, Rick. Sorry, Rick. He does love the Royal Roost as well. Brings it up all the time. Love him. Well, you've been on Royal Roost, have you been on Royal Roost podcast? Any podcast you won't go on, Ricky. I can't move with him around. He's like a fucking... You can't be yourself anymore when Cal's around. Not allowed to. Nothing sincere. That is... Do you know what, Cal? That is toxic masculinity and I have had enough. It is 2025, alright? Yeah, you've got to fucking sort it out. Stop it now. Imagine what he says in encrypted chat. Imagine that, if you can.

1:14:10Talk to him on Signal and all that sort of thing, do you? Yeah. What's that supposed to encrypt, isn't it? None of it is. None of it is. Get your tinfoil out on. Anyway, cheers, Gal. Much love. You're a legend. Cheers, Jack.

It’s Thursday Q&A time and The Fighting Cock's Flav returns for a fun packed episode.

Opening with that emotional farewell from Sonny, what does it mean for the team, the dressing room, and Spurs’ identity moving forward? Has some of the star factor gone with him?

Then it’s onto the transfer window. Another frustrating summer? Maybe. But is it just the usual Levy cycle or are we all guilty of forgetting just how much has already been spent?

Plus, Flav fields your questions, including:
– Would he rather swim with sharks or eat a fermented one?
– Which Sonny goal does he wish he’d scored and how would he celebrate it?
– And... has he finally sent out those Patreon badges?

New theme music is Ghost Cat by Gillen, and you might’ve spotted the fresh new podcast art too.

As always, like, subscribe, share, and drop us a review etc. It all helps.
