This is your host Ekta and I am so excited about our guest today because I'm a huge fan of not only her brand but also you know her because she's created a big for a great of skincare. coming back to keep you know revisiting and and really tried and true staples you know in our collection so she needs no introduction so without further ado and welcome alicia grande of grande cosmetics welcome alicia i'm so excited to host you you're oh well i'm excited to be here and thank you for that beautiful introduction it means a lot to me that you say that people are coming back for grande lash md because you know it's something that's why i made it you know because I want people to come back and love a product that actually works.
58So thank you for saying that. No, of course, it's the truth. And you know, you I can't wait to like dive into the actual product because it's such a home run. And I think truly, it's fair to say it's become like a benchmark, you know, in the industry for for last year and for really kind of putting this kind of product, you know, out in the market that gives people options rather than just, you know, buying 52 tube mascara that never worked. Yeah, that's true. You know, interestingly, you know, when I started like 16 years ago, lash serums weren't even a thing. You know, people didn't even know they didn't use lash serums.
36You used a mascara, right? To get your lashes the way you wanted, or maybe you were putting some Vaseline and more, or maybe castor oil on your lashes to moisturize. but this was 16 years ago. So it's my sweet 16. And yeah, I mean, it's trending to be a billion dollar industry. I don't even know if you know that, but in 2025, the lash serum category is going to be a billion dollar industry. And I'll tell you the truth. I didn't even think about that when I started this company 16 years ago. Absolutely not. I just knew I had a product that I tested myself. I'd work with doctors and scientists to make sure it worked.
20It was fabulous. And I had, you know, short brittle lashes after my childbirth. So I had postpartum lash loss and this was magical for me. So I needed to bring it to the rest of the world. And that's, that's what I'm doing, Eka. That's what I'm doing. Yeah, no, you are because honestly, you know, we were talking before the reporting and it's really something that I think, you know, for me as a consumer I look at this lash serum and I see nothing else like it on the market and that's not like exaggerated statement anyway it's just the truth I mean I remember the first time I used it you know for myself I'm I'm somebody who has like very interesting eyelashes where they're very straight so like they kind of like go downward so the length never comes out in my lashes you know and like one eye has like shorter lashes than the other and it was always something that I felt like I wanted to do something about it but I was that consumer you know I bought a bunch of mascara I would do the curling and all the you know everything last extensions I did all of it and it really boiled down to a simple truth which was I wanted something that would enhance my natural features you know what I mean over time that's what it comes down to it's like last extensions and all these products I mean they really rack up in pricing and so when I discovered your serum I really stuck to it you know I was like no I'm gonna give it a go I'm gonna try it and I did and within two weeks like I kid you not my mother commented like what like they're longer I can't even see it you know in the profile like I'm like and they're only gonna give you honesty right yeah yeah so I mean I want to ask you you know tell us about because you've done a lot of like studies into this right I mean it's the leading serum you know you've sold 10 million bottles.
07Like tell us about the research and the studies you've done into the product. Yeah. Absolutely. Well, I want to say thank you for your testimonial. And I am so happy to hear when people are getting amazing results from my product and they feel more confidence in themselves because their lashes look better or their brows or whatever product you're using that, you know, is grinding and it's enhancing your own natural features. But why do I have over 10 safety studies. So when I launched the product 16 years ago, we did our first study in New City, New York, with a lab, American Medical Association, you know, to test for efficacy and safety.
50And we just kept testing and testing year after year, and even improving the test and different kinds of tests that we did right now. So we have so many safety and efficacy studies for this product. It's actually outrageous. And the last study I did was in 2023. It started, went into 2024. This was the biggest study of them all. And why did I do this, Akka? I thought I already had enough studies, but there's a lot of things on the internet that go viral, comments, negativity, this virality world of this digital world that we're living in, you know, you can't believe everything that you see or hear.
39And I was seeing and hearing some misinformation about my product. So, you know, I was hearing that, oh, it could potentially do eye color change or it could potentially give you this very bad irritation or periorbital phallus. So I have to tell you, if my product did those things, I would change the formula. I did not set out 16 years ago to make a product that was going to hurt people. I made a product that was going to make people feel better about themselves like it did for you. Okay. So this last study was very expensive and I was able to afford it now because I've been in business, you know, so many years, that was 15 years in business and now we're 16 and it was an eight month study.
31Okay. With 120 participants, which is like a clinical study. Yeah. That's a full-fledged clinical study. Yeah. It was full-fledged. And, you know, you're a doctor. You understand that. And we tested to debunk any of these viral, these myths. So in the study, it basically was conclusive that there was just potentially a slight irritation can happen. And that was on three people out of the 120. And with discontinued use, it goes away. Okay. So So that's not like unusual when you use skincare, you know, you can get an irritation that not all people are the same and not everything. People have different sensitivities.
16So that was basically ruled out. And the periorbital fat loss, I don't even know if your listeners know what that means, but that means that like underneath your eyes, you're losing, you know, you're losing basically fat underneath your eyes. So it makes you look like you could be aging quicker. And that was ruled out. And discoloration of the iris, that was ruled out too. So a lot of them are tied into some of the pharmaceutical that is much higher concentration than my product, which is considered a cosmetic. So what their ingredient is is not the same as my ingredient mix. but people get it confused and once people hook on to something on the internet now it's it's it's impossible to get them away from that yeah I mean honestly I saw Alicia honestly I remember I saw some like negativity about the serum and I immediately because I know I know this product I've been using this product so when I first saw it I was like come on you know what I mean like Yes.
26Because I'm not discrediting. OK, cool. You know, if somebody is posting like a testimony, I'm not discrediting them. But I am going to say one thing as a scientist. I'm going to say there is not a single drug that exists in this world that we use, whether it's pharmaceutical, whether it's an OTC product, that there isn't a potential for some sort of reaction in one or two people somewhere in the world. it's always gonna be like that it's just the nature of you know allopathic medicine and and anything that has to do with chemicals i mean that's just reality i mean exactly it doesn't mean that you go and you take one testimonial and you blow it into this you know what i mean like this huge thing oh you know a brand has to then deal with this intense amount of misinformation i mean I remember intense.
14I mean, I'm tired. I have more wrinkles from it. Yeah. Yeah. Because it's nonsense sometimes. I mean, I remember seeing all of that. And I remember even thinking about it, like for a while, I was like, I don't understand. I've never had a bad reaction to the serum. It's never irritated. Now, if you're taking something that's meant for your lash line, and you're putting it on mucous membranes, that's different. You know what I mean? Like, you shouldn't be doing that. That's the misapplication. Yeah. Or overusing and then it's dripping into their eye. Yeah. You know, or, and like you said, mucous membranes, some people are putting it on their waterline on their upper waterline and that's where you have mucous membranes.
57Right. So of course, of course there's always a possibility when you're using something improperly. So it's really meant to be used for the audience who's even thinking about this like a liquid eyeliner on your lash line and one dip is good enough for both lash lines and I understand how people misuse things I don't love to read through instructions either but you know yeah so I'm not faulting anyone but it but it happens and and then or or this is another thing echo oh someone gets a stye or they get right well now everyone who gets a stye who uses grimy lash will say that's because grimy lash but maybe you just got a stye because you got sick or you got an infection yeah right so they like hop on this negativity bandwagon well because they want to blame they want to blame something outside of themselves people want to always blame something else and it's here's the thing and this is something i'm very passionate about and i will say this i really firmly believe in the idea that if you're using non-efficacious products you can keep applying them all day long and feel great about yourself and nothing's going to happen and there's going to be no no results and nothing you know what i mean but guess what you can say at the end of the day well yeah i didn't have any irritation i didn't have any, you know, yeah, because you're basically applying water.
26The product isn't meant to do anything in the first place. That's another big one. You know, it's like, yeah, you know, if something, there's a lot of lessons that came out after me that are really not efficacious. And, and that's the biggest thing too, is safety is always number one. Okay. It is efficacy was, is right up there with it, right? So, well, who wants to spend time putting things on their face and spending their hard-earned money if it's not going to work? Yeah. And, you know, if you look up, I have over 50 ,000 reviews on Amazon and a 4.3 rating. We're also in Sephora, we're also in Ulta, we're also in Nordstrom.
10I mean, the results are on, I'm not saying it. I tell people, look up the reviews. That's what I do when I buy something. And they say, it works, it works, it works. Of course, there's going to be 10, it works. And there's going to be one that says, it didn't work for me. Or a lot of times it doesn't work for you because you're not even staying with it. You're not being consistent. You know, it's like, I go on a diet. I go off of it. I'm eating pasta. I'm eating cookies. And oh, then I wonder why, you know? Yeah. I can't wait, right? So consistency is everything. And with Grande Lash MD, consistency is very important.
53Your lashes have a three month cycle. So in our two milliliter, that is a three month supply that gets you from start to finish. So, and you know that product, that's probably our number one size. So the first tube is going to last you a full three months and you will get your full results. So you have that full lash transformation where if you're really using it, you're going to see it. People are going to notice it. Like your mother noticed it. My funny story, when I was first using the product, a doctor and a scientist had made it. And I said before, I had postpartum lash loss after having my two sons.
34So I didn't think I was going to get my lashes back. And it was kind of depressing. You know, I gained weight. I lost my lashes. I'm like, I gained in places I didn't want to gain in. I lost in places. So my husband looked at me and we were watching this, you know, we're always binge watching TV. And we were watching a long time ago, the show Lost. I don't know if you remember with the dinosaurs. Yeah. And he looked at me and he said, what did you do to your lashes? Why are they so long? And I said, oh my goodness. and I was testing that product at that point because I had a radio show before I even started Grande because I was obsessed with beauty and skincare like yourself.
17And I was testing it and I realized how well it worked. And my last name really is Grande. No relation to Ariana Grande, but thank you for all of the notoriety, Ariana. I know it helped my sales. So if you ever hear this podcast and you want, you have a lifetime supply of granulose MD. So she uses it. We just don't know. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. I'll tell you, you know, who was using it is Brooke Shields. I actually had an event. Yeah. In my house in the Hamptons and she came and she's so sweet. Oh my God. She's, she started a, you should get her on your show. She started a hairline for women over 40.
03So, you know, we kind of have that in common that we're really trying to help women to feel better about themselves. Because as you age, you start feeling like less noticed, you know, and you need ingredients that are efficacious, that are really going to give and deliver results. So we really were bonding over that. And she's a big fan of granny lash and granny brow. so I really I mean it's a great it's a great product I think that that's what really you know for me in the you brought up an interesting point and and that is that in the beauty industry there's a lot of products and I feel like sometimes it becomes this like almost you know a curse when you create something so good and it you know goes viral and it comes into the hands of everyone you know what I mean and everyone's looking at it and everyone's like criticizing or like commenting and then there's people out there that are just like well if everyone's having all these results like i want to see mine immediately you know what i mean it's like oh yeah it like accelerates the expectations i think of consumers so when they see a viral product and i've seen this time and time again i've seen this happen you know where people are like yeah well i didn't see any results at all you know and it's like well that's because well the scene of your friends actually used it properly, you know, and you're talking about a younger demographic, right?
26So I mean, right now I'm, I'm Jen X, so I'm going to be 55 in October. But when you look at TikTok and we're, we're, by the way, starting to do well with TikTok shops, but it is those instant gratification products that are doing well. Like we have a product called Grande brow laminate, which is, It makes your brows look instantly laminated, right? Then we have a lash lift. A lash lift. It's a heated lash tool. Oh, I love that tool. I love that tool. Oh, yeah. I couldn't live without that tool. I really, yeah. I mean, it's a game changer. And so those things are doing better, believe it or not, on TikTok than granny lash update.
09I think, yeah, because a lot of people are not, they're young. you know, it's, it, it caters more to a younger demographic that really there's not a real lifetime value there with, with products. They're kind of like, you know, there's no brand loyalty and, and that's what's happening. Even with the lash serum, I've seen some, some competitors try to come out through TikTok and it's crazy. I'm not going to name any names, but we, we tested their product they they have different ingredient list what's inside is not really what's inside and it's it's scary a lot of them are made in china they're dupes and they're just you know so it you know these are your eyes your eyes yeah you know you you don't want to you don't know what you're putting on your near your eye it needs to be safe and i'm not saying this because i want to sell the product to anyone.
08It's like a PSA, like, please do your research. We have all the studies on our website because we're proud of it. We wear it like a badge. It's like, this is a safe and efficacious product. And if you're going to use an eyelash serum, please. I know we're in a struggling economy and people are very price sensitive. Well, I'd rather say, don't use anything don't you know if you're going to use something that really doesn't have the safety backing like granny last should be just don't use it yeah you can't afford you know i agree and i think and the dupe thing is really interesting what you brought up because there's a lot of damage that's done actually by those products more than anything i mean i've seen a lot of people see you know a great product and they're like well i want the cheaper option or i want the one that's like in the color packaging I prefer, you know, whatever, you know, whatever people's reasoning is.
09But the thing is that I've seen more damage come from that than anything else. And I really think that it's important to amplify that message is that, you know, when you're going to go after a product such as, you know, Grandy Lash MD, you're looking for results. You're not doing it because, you know, for whatever, like for a day or two, you're actually wanting to enhance your natural features. Yeah. Like you want it to work. So yes, there's no dupe for that. Like you can't, you can't do. I love it. You're right. You can't do something that works. Yes. I mean, exactly. And, and, and this was really, you know, it's been around for 16 years.
52It is an original formula. Yeah. So, I mean, there's been tweaks along the way, but, but you know, the, just, just super minor and i mean i'm i'm so now you said you use it did you get your mother to use it when she saw oh yeah no my mom my mom never uses a lot of products but i mean she always like you know looks through whatever i get and whatever i recommend to her she hasn't used it yet but i think she she'd love it you know because she's very mom i only give her the best and i i really would love for her to try it because she's one of those people that doesn't believe in like like a lot of makeup so she loves enhancing natural features you know what i mean and just like whatever she can naturally do to like you know if something's gonna help her eyelashes grow she'll do it and a lot a lot of consumers are like that and I I feel like these kind of products for me is what excites me about beauty you know I'll be honest with you like you know the beauty industry is a vast industry it's got a lot of stuff there's a lot of cosmetics out there but when it comes to what can I do to actually have lasting results you know what I mean where I don't have to, you know, break the bank every time I want.
00Or go for plastic surgery. Not that I'm saying anything bad about it, but like, that's another thing. Like when people are looking at your lashes and your brows and they see them looking beautiful that, you know, they're, and they're talking to you and they see your eyes and they're not looking at some of the other flaws, right? That we, and I don't want to say flaws, signs of aging that maybe you want to change, but you're now attracting them to your eyes. And that is another, and you know what? You want to be looked at, you want to be spoken to, and your eyes are what speak. So it's really, it's so nice to see that.
42And for your mom too, the grande brow, because a lot of women as they're aging and and men we're losing our brows you could be a side sleeper okay and you have a half a brow or or maybe they're just thinning out from hormones over time so oh they do they you know they do a lot yeah so grande brow uh i want to make sure she gets those two and even ask for the um how's her hair is her hair cutting she's good with hair we have so much hair in our family i always i always joke around i'm like i can make about three wigs with just my hair okay okay good good well when women age uh especially women and and the hair is thinning you know it it's it's so hard and from covid a lot of people had that you know intelligent effluvium where they lost hair and they were just seeing tongues coming out into the out of the shower you know you're seeing it on the by the the the drain yeah so we we have grande hair and like most people don't even know that we have that and it's based on the same technology as grande lash and grande brow so it has those same ingredients that are scientifically proven tested of course and we have the before and after to prove it for your hair so uh that's also available and and and like on amazon and ulta and so forth so yeah the grana hair is and a lot of people don't want to use rogaine because they say that it's you know there's some side effects with itchiness or i've heard sexual side effects all these things so but you know rogaine it definitely works but i think after some people doesn't agree with or they've been on it for a long time maybe you plateau.
36I'm not sure, but grande hair, we, and all of the products have a 90 day money back guarantee. I mean, I, you know, when I started, I put a 90 day money back guarantee because if it doesn't work for you, last thing I want is that you're going to lose money on my products. I, you know, this is not why I'm in business. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. No, I think it's really, I think it's a really great set of products. I've always enjoyed all of your products. So I'm not even gonna lie like i i really have always appreciated your brand because it's it's very new you know in the sense of like you actually provide solutions and that's rare in a cosmetics line it's rare it's very rare and i think that especially you know we're talking about the the heat curler that you have yeah the granny lash lift yeah i kid you not alicia when i first saw that product i was like why did no one else come up with this before like this is the curling iron for your eyelashes.
33Exactly. It's literally brilliant. Like, I love it. And it's rechargeable. You just use a USB. I like to take that along with me in my bag because especially like at four o 'clock when you're having that lash lull and you want to like a pick-me-up, it actually works with the mascara. It helps to reheat the mascara. So, and it lifts your lashes. So it almost looks like you have a fresh coated mascara on with a lift. you know it really it opens your eye you get that wide-eyed look so it's it's fabulous no i love it i absolutely love that product i use it as well like literally almost every day it's always in my bag somewhere you know so i i agree with you because and that's what i mean it's like your line to me like as a consumer it doesn't just stand for another cosmetics line it stands for really truly like genuinely novel options and cosmetics i mean you're not you're not redundant there's no redundancies in what you're doing you know and that's for me personally speaking i think that consumers want something that's going to not only work but it's going to become a staple you know what i mean and there has to be there has to be something unique there you know you can't keep doing the same thing over and over again so i'm a huge huge fan of what you're doing and i wouldn't thank you yeah thank you i i know i really appreciate it and i want to make sure that you get the lash and the brow for your mother and the lash lift.
55Yeah. And yeah. And also, I don't know if you know about our granny brow two in one. Have you tried that one? I don't, I haven't tried the brows because I never use brow products because my brows are like male eyebrows. Oh, okay. I trim them more than anything, but no, my, I use the eyelash one because I have like short stubby eyelashes. And like ever since I started using it, it just helped me because I can't tell you how much money I've spent on mascaras like I cannot like it's a sin how much money you know when you when you put on mascara do you put the mascara like just on underneath your lash or do you ever put it over your lashes too I actually like over and under I've I've heard about that trick like I heard it later though I try the I do the under first and then I do a little bit on top but I mean tell me is that right or is that is there a better way it It does work.
46Yeah. I like to go over and then under. So it does really help to thicken your lashes. So just trying to give a little beauty tip here. Yeah. I'm going to try that. And then really with any mascara, I would just warn people that make sure that you're using a mascara that doesn't have like alcohol because it could be drying your lashes. And we do have a line of like, you know, peptide slash castor oil enriched mascaras on, on our website at Granite Cosmetics and, and support and I'll offer those too. So yeah, those are, those are, you know, they're, I don't just make a regular mascara because listen, you could buy a mascara that's good for$10, right?
31And there are a lot of really great mascaras for$10. And, and I, so if I'm putting, if I'm going to make a mascara, it has to have that, like you said a beauty solution something that's enriching your lashes so these mascaras are you know they're infused with ingredients to help enhance your own lashes but it's not going to replace grande lash md it won't do the same job as grande lash md no no no no that's just that's just a very very special product and i really encourage everybody listening if you guys have not tried grande lash md you really need to like i could not be more you know emphatic by saying that because I really, really think that there are certain products in our industry that are just, you can't beat them, you know, and this is one of them.
14Like they're just staples and nobody else has recreated it. Nobody else is doing it the same way. And the result I've tried them. Trust me, I have a lot of stuff sent to you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I get a lot of products and I've tried every single one and I keep coming back to it because it works, you know, and that's the bottom That's it. That's the bottom line. That's it. It works. It works. It works. And that's what the reviews say. And it's safe and efficacious. So that's all I could say. And it means a lot to me to hear you say that as well with your background. So I appreciate that. yeah and I really want to actually like applaud you for like kind of fighting the good fight here with this and like doing the studies and giving us that knowledge as consumers like seriously like hats off to you because I know a lot of people would just fold under that pressure you know when you have a viral product and someone's just trying to bring it down and and instead you took that and you used it as a more of an opportunity to like really further validate what you're doing and I love that so I'm here for that you know and I really applaud you and yeah yeah it has been an exhausting year with that but I appreciate that and I always think you know what you can't hide you got to get ahead of things and that's that's my motto in life and and that's that's that's how I roll that's how I roll I love that well thank you so much Alicia it's been an honor as always to chat with you thank you and you as well I appreciate it and I can't wait to hear a copy of this myself and promote it.
