0:08Welcome along. There was a doubleheader of London derbies on Saturday night football this week as West Ham played Spurs before Brentford took on Chelsea. Here's how the evening unfolded. unfolded.

0:26Tottenham back on track, West Ham back in the doldrums. Thomas Frank becomes the first Spurs manager to lead them to victory here since Jose Mourinho in his first game in charge. A really impressive, particularly second-half performance. It was then that Pat Matassar made the breakthrough with a header almost inevitably from a corner. West Ham's problems were added to with the sending off of Thomas Socek before Lucas Bergval made it two for Tottenham with a header. And just after that, another goal for Mickey van der Ven, his second of the season, his first in this competition, in this campaign, sweeping it home to tighten their grip on a game that was long since lost by the home team.

1:13So it is business as usual for Spurs who've put all the off-field distractions behind them after the seismic events involving the departure of Daniel Levy. A triumphant return to West Ham for Mohamed Koudas, who showed up well despite the jeers aimed in his direction. But West Ham now 11 goals conceded already in this campaign. West Ham 0, Tottenham 3. Jamie thoughts on that Tottenham performance even given how the game opened up after the sending off Yeah, I felt that the Tottenham were the better side of me first off set pieces Franco and I Mentioned that half time were gonna play an important part in this game And they actually did and it shows you how much Spurs have come on in that department I thought they had a bit more pace about them Kudos was excellent in that right side he caused West Ham so many problems and once it went to ten minutes The quality really started to show and excellent performances by that young man Bergfeld But Kudo is a real star.

2:12He's got so much energy and quality and skill Franco, isn't he? Absolutely. I was impressed by him. And he created a lot of problems. And also it was a particular game for him. Everybody was having a go with him and he kept his composure and was very, very good. It was a difficult day again though for West Ham. It was. To be honest, I think the sending off made it even more difficult. So they started very well for the first 20 minutes and then slowly, slowly Tottenham got an edge. But then, you know, sending off created a situation from where they couldn't come back.

2:56Well, a straightforward win in the end for Tottenham at the home of West Ham. And there were warning signs, Jamie, that they were going to be dangerous from set pieces. Absolutely. Franco identified it at half-time. And what Spurs are going to become is a real force from set pieces. They're very good at the attention to detail. Thomas Frank was brilliant at Brentford and there's absolutely no doubt he's told his Tottenham team a little bit. Not unlike what Ange wasn't that kind of manager. He wasn't really into that detail whatsoever. And what they've done, and I think this shows you how the game just evolves all the time with analysis and set piece coaches where you can identify things even at half time.

3:28So we looked at a corner in the first half and you can see here that Papsar is free at that back post. and you can see how West Ham defend. They front load that near post. You've got Pakatai, you've got Kilman, Mavropanos and Bowen. So they're very strong. The only real one is number 28, Suchek, that I would say is a dominant head of the ball. So if the right delivery can come in from Kudos, perhaps I can attack it and you can see that Spurs players will do their best to block it. The ball comes in, nothing comes from this one, but then at halftime, make no mistake, in that dressing room, they would have identified this.

3:58You've had someone on the analysis saying, right, we can now get success. Now, this time it's Javi Simmonds on the corner. Papsar, same position. Front loaded by West Ham. But just watch. The important thing here is what the West Ham players do. Paulino is going to do a really good job on Thomas Suchek. Bergvau is going to do a good job on Diop there and just stop them and block them. And you can see tell. Then nobody, if their right delivery comes in, you're going to leave Papsar at the back post free as a bird to just head it in. And it's a really good delivery and obviously a really good header.

4:28And it just shows you how that detail and how much the game has changed, Franco. Yeah, normally, I mean, the danger area is the first post. So, especially if you're not very strong defensively on set pieces, that's the area you tend to cover. In this case, they were very prepared, so they left Sar at the back because they knew he could have a little bit of reason and they found him very well. Absolutely. We saw Sherry Simmons taking the corner there and it was a fantastic debut for him. Well, it was a great delivery and I know that he's actually now listening to us, so I'm going to, yeah, I'll leave it to you, Kelly.

5:01You can wax lyrical to the man himself. Xavi, thank you so much for joining us. What a great way to make your debut with a 3-0 win away from home. Hello, everyone. Yeah, really happy with the win, first of all. And to make my debut in the Premier League is such a special moment for me. How did you find playing in the Premier League? Yeah, of course, always had been a dream of mine, playing here in the biggest stage, the best competition in the world. and right now I'm here with a magnificent team and I'm really enjoying the first days. Javi, congratulations, a really good debut. I do want to talk to you about the first goal.

5:40Obviously, you're instrumental in it with a really good delivery to the back post. Was that something that you looked at at half-time, that maybe there is an opportunity with the way that West Ham defended from corners? Yeah, obviously, we know the set-piece is such as important as the game in usual and right now in the second half we talk about it with Pape and yeah I find them and it was a nice goal I think. Good man. I know today you tended to play off the left hand side. I've watched a lot of your career as a young player and obviously a fan. Do you prefer to play slightly centrally or do you like to play on that left hand side?

6:16Where would you say is your favourite position? Yeah obviously I've played my whole life in the number 10 position but the last couple of years I've developed as well on the left side and I'm a player, I want to go for the one against one and take on my defender and that's what I want to do and obviously try to help teams with scoring goals and making assists, so really happy about that today. Have you talked to the manager about that, about providing that balance on the left-hand side because the Spurs fans have enjoyed watching Mohamed Koudous and then you now on the left? Yeah, that's one of the things I spoke with the coach before I came here.

6:54And obviously, it's a big part of my decision in coming here as well and trying to make that impact. And what you said as well, I know more from the Dutch league and I know he's a quality player. So really happy to play with him alongside me. It was a really good win for Tottenham. Did you feel on the pitch, though, that the sending off opened the game up for you? Yeah, it has been my first week here at the club altogether. Some of the guys, me as well, we were in the national team And in the last three or four days, yeah, trying to talk a lot on the pitch as well, but outside the pitch, getting each other to know better.

7:29And, yeah, the games are coming, so we have to adapt quickly about certain situations. And right now, in three days, we have another game. Hi, Xavi. Congratulations for your game today, first of all. What would you say is the most impressive thing that you found in the Premier League? Yeah, I think everything in general, especially the quality of the players, even playing against teams that are struggling maybe in the table are top players, top teams, and you can see it as today as well. If you look at the team they had, it's really good players. Obviously, on my side, I'm coming here and playing with players of high quality, players that have won in their career, such great things.

8:15trying to adapt as quick as possible and have the little details that they can show me to my career. Well, Xabi, congratulations on the win. Congratulations on your Premier League debut and thank you for talking to us. Thank you very much. Thank you. You asked him there about what he found most impressive. How did you find or how impressive did you find the way that he's adapted to the Premier League? Well, I started very quiet and then he'd grown into the game very well and in the end, he's been very effective. He's done a couple of things. You can see he's a quality player by the way he moves, how he receives the ball.

8:53So, in my opinion, he's got a lot of more to give and he will probably still settle in on the pace of the game and you can see he has a lot of potential. We talked about how the red card changed the game, but was there any doubt that this was a sending off a fence? Well, nowadays, yes, because when they, you know, the first thing they watch is how he's positioned the leg. And you can see straight and the foot is up. So you can see here. So there is no nothing. I don't think he wants to. There is no much. He didn't want to be nasty there. He just wanted to get the ball. He had a bad control. We said that.

9:35And he wanted to get the ball. But obviously, there was. In our day, Franco, was that a red card? It was a prize, actually. It's a tackle from your teammate in training. But then it changed everything, like you said. Nine seconds later, this happens. And West Ham were just, I think they were still sleeping. They weren't quite reactive. You can see they've got five players in this area. When the ball gets played across, Jabby Simms gets on the ball. And then Romero is obviously instrumental, number 17. As the ball gets played out to him, I think the player that we want to just highlight is he's, as that ball gets played, he's already, I'll just take that back.

10:07Oh, there you go. I highlight him. There's the goal scorer. He's already on the move. Mavropanos, as a central centre-back, Franco, you talk about how Italian defenders were doing in that situation. I think, I mean, I work with Sarri that he was very, very into these situations like this. When you have somebody that is about to kick the ball, the defenders, they have to be already on the side and they have to be running backwards. And I think especially the right back made the mistake because he should have covered it. He was too wide. Sorry, too wide. Yeah. He wasn't doing anything. It's a fabulous header, though.

10:39He uses his neck muscles. He's such a good young player. 18, 19 years of age. Brilliant header. Fantastic pass. I think from West Ham's point, maybe the goalkeeper, the centre-back. It's almost a catalogue of mistakes, isn't it? You were saying maybe the goalkeeper wasn't in the right position. I think when the ball lands in this area and it's nine yards out from goal, I'd love to see my keeper dictate that situation. But, you know, and then Van de Ven. And at this point, again, another set-piece. Javi Simmonds on it. They were just in a very confident mood at this time. They had that extra man on the park and they'd certainly made it count.

11:12Bergvau was obviously important with this. The ball comes out to him. You can see him here. He's already got too much space. Telkom maybe could pop it into him. He doesn't. The ball comes to Paulino, who sees the pitcher first time, pops it into him. There we go. This pass here is important. Now he's in the box. The other thing is here, you've got Van der Ven. All the defenders have gone back in a straight line. You leave Van der Ven. No one's marking him. Everyone's marking space. not good enough. He comes on, on his, what we would call his wrong foot, right foot, wraps it into the corner. Franco, good finish.

11:39Yeah, there was a lot of confusion there, but probably they knew that the game was gone for them, probably. But I have to say that, again, Tottenham, we said it from the first half. They were always causing problems in the situation. We knew something was coming out from that and it happened. 12:42Early days for Keith Andrews, but this goes down as the best result of his tenure here, despite it only ended with a point. Fabio Carvalho sent on, and he levelled up late on when Chelsea thought they'd won it through a marvellous moment from Moises Caicedo. He blasted the ball into the back of the net to complete what looked like a Chelsea comeback after Cole Palmer had come off the bench, his return from injury and leveled things up. Brentford good value for the lead that they had in the first half through Kevin Schada, but in the end it's a point apiece in the West London derby. Enzo Mareska still unbeaten, but this will feel like a body blow as he prepares to look to Europe in the week and a trip to Bayern Munich.

13:27Final score at the GTEC Community Stadium, Brentford 2, Chelsea 2. And we'll get the thoughts on Chelsea from Gianfranco Zola in just a second. But we have to talk about Brentford, Jamie, and the performance that they put in, the way they dug in, particularly at the end of that second half. Kelly, I thought they were magnificent. It had been a bit of Travis. Travis had not got something out of the game. The first half, they were brilliant. They started so well to a man. They worked hard, won every single second ball. They made it really difficult for Chelsea. Even second half, when they were hanging in there, and Chelsea were bringing on all their sort of Galacticos, Cole Palma's coming on, making a difference, started to make it difficult for them.

14:05Went 2-1 behind, but they never gave up. They were fantastic today. I thought Jordan Henderson in midfield was a masterclass. The energy that he showed, the organisational skills, he was absolutely brilliant for them today. And I think they deserve something out of it. And if a late goal is a great way to rescue a point, it's a terrible way to lose two points, Jeff Franco. Thoughts on Chelsea's much-improved second-half performance? No, the second half was definitely better. They kept control of the game. They were more dangerous. He was another team. They had also a couple of other chances who could have done better.

14:42But fair enough to say that Brentford were resilient. They never gave up. And probably they deserved it. You can see the disappointment from the Chelsea players, none less than Cole Palmer, who made such a difference when he came on. and you can see what Charles has been missing for the last couple of games. Yeah, it's unbelievable because, you know, he always does the right thing at the right moment. So even at the goal, it might seem, you know, an easy goal. It's not. You know, he was so cool in the way he delivered the ball to the angle, and, you know, he has become a very, very mature player.

15:21Jamie, how difficult is the job at Brentford at the moment, Given that they lost in Burmo, Wisser, Norgard, their captain over the summer, Mikael Damsgott wasn't available for this game. How good a job has Keith Van Dries done here? He's done a great job. I can only really think of Bournemouth that have been decimated more by important players leaving their football club. I think Bournemouth lost for the back five, as you include the goalkeeper. But with Brentford, you've lost goals. You know, important players, leaders in that team, your captain, as you say. Visser is an important player and gives you so much energy and obviously Umbermo so three massive not just good players but great characters that know the club that understand it but now it's an opportunity for the sort of the new breed if you like.

16:06Shard is gonna be a really good player you could see it today took his goal so well I think defensively Collins is a leader of men he's so important to that team and that young man there Cavalier with that lovely smile. I saw him in the summer actually in Portugal and he was doing what we would call a pre-pre-season now and he was working hard, doing extra running, had a little chat with him and I was because things didn't haven't really gone his way since he left Fulham. It's not been easy for him and I guess because he was one of the best young players at that time he's had to really fight, he's had to work hard.

16:36Even coming to Brentford he didn't start as many games last season, started the first game of the season this year and he has to come off the bench today 86 minutes to rescue a point for his team. You know he won't want to be a sub of course no one wants to be a sub but for him to do that just shows the importance of the squad and everyone together and for Keith it feels like a massive it feels like a huge point for him you know because you could see he was devastated when it went 2-1 down but particularly in the timing of the season coming after the the international break when they've had a lot of their their starters out on international duty and they come back and they're required to show that much energy for for 90 minutes absolutely do you know I asked the questions we got the stats guys I said it feels like Chelsea have had a lot more players being away on international duty than Brentford He said no, it's the opposite.

17:18I think Chelsea had four that were away I think they maybe changed their starting 11 though to reflect that yeah wouldn't Even the start of level when you think that Brentford had six that have gone away in international duty But you wouldn't have you wouldn't have known with the energy they started with but the one player I'll go back to him that really set the tempo for a minute one with Jordan Henderson one of the passes of the season But his experience and his know-how and obviously we thought when he went to Saudi we thought what's going to happen to him. None of us have a clue, you know, and then he goes to IAPS, didn't quite go his way.

17:49I think for Brentford to sign him, I think that's a masterstroke. A brilliant signing, Franco. Yeah, no, no, absolutely. Also because you see also how the teammates, they look at him, they look up to him. Everything he does, when he does something important, they always go to him, they look to him. So it's very important to have players like that because they can detect so many good habits for the young ones going through. It was a big point for Brentford. They've drawn two all, not one all, they've drawn two all at home to Chelsea. It's been a doubleheader, Jamie, I don't know if you've noticed.

18:26Weekend games then started off this Saturday lunchtime with Arsenal with a really convincing 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest. Bournemouth with a 2-1 win against Brighton. Bournemouth's winner coming from the penalty spot, Antoine Semenyo, got that one. It finished goalless between Crystal Palace and Sunderland. No goals either between Everton and Aston Bill, although Everton really threatened to put the ball in the net at various times throughout that game. We're unlucky not to take the lead. Fulham took until 94 minutes to win the game against Leeds and it was a helping hand from Leeds Goodmanson who got an own goal in 94 minutes.

19:01And then for Newcastle, it was Nick Voltemada with his debut and a winning goal for them to take all three points at home to Wolves, who've now gone four games at the start of a league season without to win, sorry, with a defeat in every single one of them for the first time in their history. And then this evening, earlier on, we saw West Ham beating 3-0 at home by Spurs. West Ham down to 10 men with Spurs at 1-0 in that game. And then Brentford getting that late, late equaliser against Chelsea. Super Sunday still to come. It starts with Burnley against Liverpool at 2 o 'clock and then it's the Manchester Derby, all of which you can watch on Sky Sports Premier League.

19:38And And remember, the highlights are available right now on the Sky Sports app. So if Chelsea had won that game, they would have gone top of the table for the time being, at least with those other teams in action tomorrow. As it stands, they are on eight points. They're one point off the league leaders who at the moment, Arsenal, along with Tottenham, Liverpool and Bournemouth on nine points. At the other end of the table, it was a precious point for Brentford. They move on to four and they may well be picking up some momentum in their season. West Ham inside the bottom three after that defeat by Tottenham.

20:23Let's find out what's coming up. Super Sunday. It's Burnley against Liverpool. One o 'clock from Turf Moor Sky Sports Premier League. And then from four o 'clock it's the Manchester derby. City against United from the Etihad. Again, Sky Sports Premier League for that one.

20:41T20 Blast continues Somerset. I think this might be the winning moment. As Somerset wins the T20 Blast. You can watch all the reaction to that over on Sky Sports Cricket. And it gives you a thirst for cricket. Then you can watch even more of it because England are up against South Africa. It's the third T20 from 2 o 'clock tomorrow on Sky Sports Cricket.

21:11And loads of NFL coming your way every weekend. The Bears are at the Lions 5.30 tomorrow. Also, at the same time, the Giants are at the Cowboys. Remember, you can follow everything on Red Zone. That all gets underway at 5.30. And then later on, you're going to be able to watch the Broncos at the Colts. So that's going to be on Sky Sports Plus with the Eagles at the Chiefs on Sky Sports NFL. and this is Nosferatu which is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted woman and a terrifying vampire no similarities between us in the studio Nosferatu available now on Sky Cinema sometimes I feel like I'm not for you yeah no no no you don't want to be watching that if you're gonna I'm going to try and get to sleep tonight.

21:59No, not really. I'm sure it's very good, though. You can watch it during the day when your nerves are a little bit less frayed. I tell you, the nerves will be frayed at Chelsea this evening because there was a late, late equaliser from Brentford to earn them a point at the GTEC Stadium after Chelsea had turned it around to come from 1-0 down to make it 2-1. But it's the B's who'll be going home happy.

22:23The Sky Sports app is the place to get the biggest Best and latest sports news stories, live blogs, updates on goals as they go in, and all the video highlights of the Premier League, and much more. 23:07Off the bench and back amongst the goals for Chelsea. Garnaccio on his debut. Ooh, close to Palma. wouldn't quite sit for Caicedo first time, your goodness me did he hit that what a strike looked in by Shada and touchdown off the bench to steal the point, it's Fabio Carvalho

23:38and that goal from Fabio Carvalho late on in the game meant that it finished 2-all between Brentford and Chelsea. Chelsea had 16 shots, six of them on target. And of those six shots on target, five of them came in the second half of the game. Brentford with a slightly higher XG, which will tell you a little bit about the quality of opportunity that both sides managed to create. They had 20 touches in the opponent's box compared to 38 for Chelsea. 70 passes in the final third compared to 158. And Chelsea, as you might expect, had more than double the possession of Brentford. That goal from Cole Palmer, incidentally, was his first Premier League goal against Brentford.

24:19His 50th goal in 22 shots. This was the first time he'd scored against Brentford. It was the goal that drew Chelsea level for the first time in the game. But Fabio Carvalho with the all-important goal that earns Keith Andrews and his side a point from that game. And the goal scorer is with Johnny Phillips. Fabio, it wasn't a victory, but how important after all that effort to come away with something today? It was crucial, I think. We stuck well to the game plan. We got ahead, 1-0, and then obviously Chelsea's Chelsea, they've got quality players, and then obviously equalised, and then they go on top.

24:54And it just shows our resilience, it shows what the club's about, the togetherness, which the gaffer's big on. And yeah, just credit to ourselves. Obviously, it wasn't a win, but it felt like a win, and we know how important it is to get these points. You spoke about sticking to that game plan. What was it in the week you've been working on in particular to nullify Chelsea's threat? Because for so long it did look like it was working. Obviously we know what their strengths are. They like to play in their pockets. They like to play and combine. They've got quality players but we also know what our strengths are on account.

25:19We've got great players, great pace and I thought we've done really well today with using our attributes. Watching on from the sidelines though, did it feel as if Chelsea were coming back into it, particularly once they got that equaliser? Did it look as if the tide was turning? Yeah, like in any other game, there's obviously moments. Each team has their moments, and obviously after their first quarter, they had their moment. But we stuck well, and we defended really well. Queed made an unbelievable save to keep us in the game. And then there was the opportunity right at the end with the set piece as well, something you clearly work on.

25:47Exactly. You know, Grantham's big on set pieces, and, yeah, we got a lot of goals. So it was good to just put it into practice, but we practiced on the training pitch. Is it as straightforward as it looks? Just put the big man on the near post, and then you ghost in at the back? It's not as easy as it looks but obviously we train on it a lot and yeah God willing I get in them positions again and yeah all glory to him. When you say you train on it a lot as well How much work does it actually take? How much of your sort of working week does it take with those set pieces? It takes a lot just not just on the pitch off the pitch as well We do a lot of analysis and video and we know what our strengths are We've got a lot of big players who are good in here and we utilize it.

26:21When you look at this result And the others you've had so far this season Does it feel there's an element of solidity about the team and that Keith Andrews is really making his mark? Keith's making his mark and with the help of all the staff as well, which is crucial. The team are really on board with the plans he has. And if we stick together, we'll be more than fine and we've got more than enough quality to do well this season. Yeah, and when you compete with a side like Chelsea and their resources and the fact that you have lost so many players as well, does it suggest that you're going to be OK?

26:47I'm sure we'll be OK. We've lost a lot of crucial players, but we've also added some really good quality. and it shows from our bench today, starting 11 was good, bench was good as well and yes, as long as we stay together, we'll be fine. And that staying together as well, as you grow into the season as well, I imagine the new players as well get more into it and more a feel of what's going on? A hundred percent, I feel like once we get momentum, we'll be good and yeah, we'll be fine. Well done on your goal today. Thank you so much.

27:14Well, let's take a look at his goal then, at Fabio Cavalho's equaliser because, as he said, it may look straightforward, but it's not as easy as it looks. Well, he's got a lot of time to think about it. I think that's the thing, Franco. And what happened is they've made a few substitutions at this point, Brentford, obviously trying to chase the game. He brings on Carvalho. He brings on Aya as well. And then also with Coyote going off, who is throwing the ball into the box of such a height and pace, I didn't even realise they've got another long throw in their mids with Shada. But then what you do then is you lose someone that's very good in the air.

27:45Anyway, he launches this one into the box. You can see you've got Collins and Aya there. And what happens as it develops is this is the key battle right here. Now, Garnaccio has got a job to do. He's got to mark Carvalho. That's your job. Simple as that. Don't lose him. You're now one of the defensive players in here. If he gets in behind you, it's on you. Everybody else is trying to win that first contact. It's not easy. Brentford have got some big guys. But Garnaccio just falls asleep at the vital moment. Ball comes in. You can see from Sharder. Garnascio's not concentrating, they get that contact and there he is at the back post.

28:22And he said it wasn't a difficult finish, but how tough are they, Franco? The mistake is always the same. You start looking at the ball, you look at the ball and you don't see the man. It's the man who's going to score the goal, not the ball. I mean, so you have to keep an eye all the time, first on the man and then on the ball as well. He nearly gets there, the goalkeeper, he gets a touch on it, But I think the relief from Carvalho, and you can see as he wheels away with pure delight. And it was nothing more than... And as you said, Jamie, the height of that ball makes it a much more difficult finish.

28:54I think that's what Fabio Carvalho was saying in his interview. It's not an easy finish, necessarily. Well, it would have been for this guy. I know, I'm asking the wrong person. I think also they all know the importance of those last balls. And so a little bit of pressure may have come into his mind a little bit in that moment. But it was too easy. But they were excellent today and they deserved it. I thought the whole game plan worked. And throwing him on with three or four minutes to go. Well, I actually remember him doing the substitution, Keith Andrews, and I think, you know, this is going to be a tough one for him.

29:28Is he going to try and get involved? You know, obviously Chelsea, they're going to be comfortable for the last few minutes. And you never quite know how it's going to unfold. And it was a well-deserved point. And I'm looking forward to hearing what Jordan Henderson says about it. Well, funnily enough, Jordan Henderson joins us live now from Brentford to talk through the game itself. Jordan, congratulations. Thanks so much for coming out to talk to us. What a way to get a point from that game. Yeah, in the end, it was nice. I thought it was, yeah, we left it a little bit late. I thought it would have been a bit harsh to lose the game, I think, with the effort the lads put in for the full game.

30:04So I think we've got the rewards in the end with a point. But, you know, Chelsea are a top team, some world-class players. It was always going to be difficult. but I felt as though we made the game difficult. We had some decent chances, and in the end, I felt as though that would deserve the point. Yeah, the changes that they made at half-time looked like it made the game a lot more difficult for Brentford in the second half, but the game plan was there right from the beginning, and it was effective. Yeah, I thought we were effective. Again, you're going to be put under pressure a lot with Chelsea that they've got world-class players, like you said, in half-time, they make three or four subs.

30:42like Cole Palmer and Rhys James coming on and players like that can change the game. And to be fair, they did inject some life into the game for them and made it even more difficult. And Cole's goal was brilliant. So that's the quality they have. But we try to limit that as much as possible. Try to make it difficult and try to take every chance when we had them. And I thought overall, like I say, we deserved the point. Jordan, Jamie Redknapp. I'm going to say, mate, I thought you were magnificent today. I thought in midfield, you completely run the game from start to finish. Your energy, desire, your know-how and one of the passes of the season.

31:20It must feel so good for you to be back in the Premier League. Thanks, Jamie. I appreciate it. No, it is nice to be back playing at the highest level, you know, in the Premier League. It's the best league in the world. So to be back playing means a lot. And, yeah, I just want to be grateful of the opportunity, really, to come back and try to show people that I can still play at the highest level. And, yeah, tonight and obviously when I've been with the national team as well. So, yeah, I feel fit, I feel good and I just want to keep trying to enjoy my football and try to show people that I can still help the team going forward.

31:55Jordan, hopefully you've got a screen there. I want to talk to you about the goal. Jan Franco and I were waxing lyrical about your pass at half-time. It felt to me you saw it earlier. You had a couple of scans and you knew that this pass was on. Yeah, I checked my shoulder just before I think received just to see where Kevin was. And I know that if I can get the ball into him to create a 1v1 situation for him, then he can be deadly in that situation like he was. So it's a fantastic run. And he knew and I picked it up. He was off. And then, yeah, when he gets in that position, he's so good to go inside on his right foot and finish.

32:27So it was a fantastic goal from him. Jordan, there was a proper number 10 pass. Congratulations for that. I was wondering when did you decide to make the pass? On the first look or on the second look? Because you had that first look, then the look at the ball. Yeah, I was just checking on the first time in case I got it just to see where Kevin was because I knew as soon as if Matty did it. I didn't think Matty was going to give us that. I didn't think he'd seen us. But when I did get it, I checked again and then I could see him go and then I knew I could play it straight away because the high line and like I say, if I could get him in a 1v1 situation, then I know how deadly Kevin can be.

33:10And it was a fantastic finish from him. And I thought he was brilliant all game. Yeah, I thought there was a fantastic connection between him and the striker because as soon as he saw that you received the ball, he went on the move. So that is a kind of very, very good understanding. Yeah, definitely. I think he's a player that likes to run him behind. and if you get him in the right situations he's proven last season as well that he can score goals and that's important for us especially when you're playing the team against Chelsea you might be low block for a lot of the game and you have to defend and limit their chances but when you get the chance to go forward someone like Kevin gives you that pace going forward and can really stretch teams like you did there and I thought him and Thiago worked really well together tonight Jordan just another question just about Brent but when you obviously first met the manager the owners of the club how difficult a decision was it for you or was it an easy one?

34:06I think it was it was a pretty easy decision once I'd met the manager and the owners and the directors and things like that. I just thought you know how well the club's been run over the last few years, the opportunity to come back to the Premier League but overall just how there were people really just good people, genuine people that felt as though I could come in and help the team. In a summer of change, really, there's been a lot of change and it's been quite difficult. So I thought it was a good opportunity for me and they've helped me a lot since I've been here. So I'm just trying to be grateful of the opportunity that they've given us and try to repair them with some good performances to try and help the team, really.

34:47And also it's a club that sort of prides itself on its technical football and an intelligent type of football and attention to detail. Is that something that you feel that you fit into? bit that suits you? Yeah, I think, like I said, there's been a lot of change over the summer, so I still feel as though we're creating, the manager keeps saying, we're creating the foundations for us as a team and finding our own identity again because of how much change there has been. But there's been some good games where I feel as though we have shown that and shown the character within the team and how hard the lads work for each other, I think is a big bonus.

35:23and you get your rewards in football when you work as hard as they did tonight, like you see in the last few minutes to get the equaliser, they kept going. And I think that's a big part in football. Yes, we can improve. Yes, we can be better, especially with the ball and getting it and creating more chances going forward. But yeah, you can't have everything. You need to keep working on the training field. You need to keep improving on the things that we can be better at, but keeping the fundamentals and keeping the foundations to be hard to beat and try to make it difficult for every team we'll play every week.

35:57Well, Jordan, I know you said your energy levels are still high despite being away on international duty this week, but we're not going to keep you any longer. We're going to let you go and recover. So thanks very much for joining us. Thank you very much. Thanks, Jordan. Take care. Thank you. Thank you. Cheers. Bye. Thanks, Jordan. Jamie, you were really impressed with his performance and the way that you felt that he ran the game from midfield and controlled it, particularly, and he alluded to it there, and we'll talk to Keith Andrews about it later on, in a summer where they have lost really big players.

36:28How important is he on the pitch, off the pitch, and in terms of how he communicates as well? Everybody at that club, to be around Jordan Henderson and just to learn and extract anything you can from him. If I was at that club, I'd be watching everything that he does, how he trains, what he eats, all the important things that make him the football. Everyone talks about when Franco came to Chelsea, that he changed everybody's diet, everybody's diet, everyone just wanted to play football like him. And I think it's the same for every academy kid or every other 21 B team player. He has done it all.

36:59He's won everything in the game. And I think he's such a great leader. You can see now the value that he possesses because even Thomas Tuchel, still picking him for England. When everybody said, why are you still picking Jordan Henderson? Anybody that doubts it, if you haven't watched that game tonight and realised what he brings to a football team, you know, you're obviously missing the point because I thought he was absolutely magnificent today. And he's a leader. and they're so hard to find now, Kelly. Leaders that just do the right thing. You can't buy experience, but normally with experience, people lose their legs, maybe haven't the ability to run anymore.

37:28But where he's very fortunate, he can still compete, he can still run. I bet his stats have probably run 12K tonight, whatever it is. One of the highest athletes on the pitch would have probably run 12K, 13K. I bet his numbers are up there like that. And obviously the goal, Franco, was just, as you said, a fantastic piece of play all round. I just want to talk about a couple of things before I pass it on to you, because I think this is a brilliant piece of defending as well by Coyote. Number 33. Look at that, how he defends the back post. Then they win the next contact. Then Thiago does ever so well.

37:56And then once Matthias Jensen passes that ball back into him, and I want to give it to you, Shep, because I thought you asked a great question there, Franco, because you talk about nowadays just scanning. Just keep your eye... Can you see my hand here? Look at Jordan Henderson. He has two looks, doesn't he? He has the first look here. That's why I asked him if he had already decided. But I believe that he gave me the answer. He knows that Shade is very good in the run. He loves running behind the defence. So he knew already that he was connecting with him. And as soon as Jordan receives the ball, he's on the move.

38:34You can see. This is him here. You can see. There is a connection. And he knows that there's a lot of grass there. The full-back's not coming in. Tosin's got a problem because he's probably thinking, you can see in his body shape, he wants to run this way. So maybe that space is going to go in behind him. And then he's got a lot of grasp. He's a brilliant athlete as well, isn't he, Franco? But now I'm going back in my time, no? And when I play with Jimmy Floyd, Jimmy Floyd used to like and run behind the defenders, okay? So every time I got the ball, he was already in the move because I knew I was going to have a look to him and try to set the ball for him.

39:11And it was the same I saw here. there was a connection between him and Jordan because he knows Jordan can deliver a good ball and he can run. So let me ask you this. You said so if if another player maybe had been on the ball, no disrespect that didn't have your football IQ, would Jimmy Floyd maybe not have made that run? I don't know. Yes, you do. It's not funny. You're too humble, Franco. No, I think I think Jimmy was very good. I mean, his eyes lit up when you had the ball. Would you say that? Yeah, he knew that I could provide that pass. But again, you know, for me, I always said that it's not who gives the pass, but who detects the pass that makes the difference.

39:55Because when you have somebody like Shade makes that kind of run, then it's easy for you to deliver a good ball. Because both of us, when we saw the pass, we were both like off our feet going, that's what you want to come to football and see. Because he saw it, he delivered it. Can you execute? It's not always easy. but it also helps when you look at the number seven that's running away and you see that pace that he's got because you were impressive in tonight, Shada, wasn't you? No, it was very good. I think that the guy, like you said before, he has a lot of potential. He hasn't reached his full potential yet.

40:27He needs to improve a couple of things, but you can see that he can do very good things. A player we spoke about as well, Franco, one of the best, I think. It reminds me at times of you, was the introduction of this guy, Cole Palmer. He was involved. And we talk so much now about scanning. And I want to ask, because his head is pretty much on a swivel here, Franco. Just keep your eye on him. How many times he just turns his head just to see where the ball is? Who's going to close him down? Two, three, four. He's always looking at the picture. Five. That's something you have to be aware of, Franco.

41:01No, absolutely. Especially a player like him that is always very marked. You know, he's always got one player or two players that are looking after him. The ability to look before you receive the ball and to know before you receive the ball what to do with it makes a big difference. And how hard is that finish, Franco? Because he makes it look so easy. Yeah, that's exactly what I said before. I mean, it seems easy, but it's not. The way he delivered the calm that he had on the ball and the way he delivered the ball in the corner, it shows the quality of these players. this player. And he's so important to Chelsea.

41:42Well, he's become so efficient. This is a nice angle, Franco. You can see him here, as it falls to him, he just takes the pace out of it, just caresses it. Look how calm he is on the ball and how he delivers it. He's really close. But what I was saying is, it seems to me that this player has become so efficient in everything he does. He always maximises everything he does. Either he's a finish or a pass, he's always, you know, well thought and the proper one to do. So he's growing up so fast. I'm very impressed with him. So they make those changes at half-time, they go level through Cole Palmer and they almost went in front through Cole Palmer.

42:24And this one was a little less characteristic of him. Well, I don't know. I think... Great goalkeeper. It's a little bit of both, isn't it? Brilliant goalkeeper. Great goalkeeper because he anticipated, He knew the ball was going there and he moved before. So he was very good. Look at him. Look, look. The goalkeeper has been brilliant. Yeah. Yeah. Because, I mean, I think he's been a great signing for Brentford. You know, Koivin has got one of those. He's just such a calm goalkeeper. He's very much like Alisson. He's obviously learned from one of the best. He's very good at just anticipating and reading it.

42:57Do you think maybe he just tries to open his left foot up there, doesn't he? Just perhaps doesn't guide it into the corner enough? Well, I think looking from behind, I think Cole did exactly what he had to do. He delivered a ball and he was also a very good shot. The only thing is that the goalkeeper anticipated that and he closed completely the goal. Yeah, and when we talk about the players who've gone out, obviously Kovine Keller has come in as in goal and has made, you know, given them a sort of sense of reassurance as well. Moises Caicedo with the goal that put Chelsea in front in this game and this was some strike.

43:32Great strike, Franco. And obviously, Garnaccio, we mentioned a fault for the goal. This is what we want to see from him. I think the number gave him a little bit of extra quality in the finishing. Yeah. No, it's been... Yeah, this is your number, Franco. Yeah. It's one of your strikes. I think Caicedo has grown up a lot. We know how important he is defending, but in the last year and a half, also, he's got better also finishing. Yeah. It's not the first goal. important goal that he scores. It's a pure strike. Pure strike. And Kevin Sharder, he doesn't quite anticipate that the ball's going to come out there.

44:10And what he does, he almost just waits. Then he goes again. If he had probably just run, he might have just been able to get the block on it. But he just gives Caicedo enough time to sort of reset himself and then hit that strike. And you can see, the keeper sees it so late. It goes through Collins, Aya. there's that sort of corridor that you can't quite get across if you're the goalkeeper. And then we just... And you could see how despondent Brentford were. I honestly thought, that's the end of that. And that's so harsh on them because they'd played so hard, they'd worked for every single second.

44:43And that was one of those, it was just a punch on the nose they didn't deserve. Even Rob Green in commentary said you could see from his footwork, it was those little tiny steps towards the corner and he did everything he could, except it was just a great strike. And just reward for Chelsea because they looked like a different side in the second half. Yeah, in the second half, before they got the goal, we were just talking and we saw how they were getting more balls. They were controlling more balls, but also they were creating chances. So they were really putting a lot of pressure. They played very well, in my opinion, in the second half.

45:17But, you know, fair enough to say that Brentford, despite all the doubts that we had at the beginning because of the change of manager, the players left. But they show resilience and organisation. I mean, they did everything they had to do to stay in the game, and they got what they deserved. I must admit, I didn't like the team he picked first off, the manager for Chelsea. I felt that the two full-backs, one making his full Premier League debut from Leicester. Hattu. No, not Hattu. and the other one. No, it's from the right back. Sorry, Fafana. Fafana, sorry, my mind. It's getting late, Kenny.

45:58No, no, no, you've done that all day. I know. It's just a... Yeah, I know, and I should know. It's a mental block. No, but Fafana is predominantly a centre-back. He played three or four games there at right back. He just... He doesn't... I think for him, being out injured as long as he has, to go and ask a player to go and play right back, and especially at a place like Brentford, where it's fast, it's furious, he got booked early, Haito, and he found it really difficult, and Fafana at right back. and we all go, oh, great, he's changed the game. What had he got it wrong in the first half? He shouldn't have made that mistake.

46:26And I think you give yourself a problem there because I felt he didn't pick the right team. I wonder if some of the choices are detected by all the games that they need to play because next week they are playing Bayern and there will be a tough match. International as well. Well, he said that as a few players coming back from international duty. I think you can get away with one. I just think when you change both full backs like that and you don't play one, especially for Farnham, that's not predominantly a right back, I think you just took a risk and it didn't work. first half, but second half, when you're bringing on the players that you can, you can change it.

46:54And they did turn it around to 2-1, but ended up drawing 2-1 with Brentford. So what did Enzo Maresca make of it? He's with Johnny. Enzo, how do you reflect on the performance and result? We knew that it was a tough game. First half, we struggled to find solution. We struggled to find the space because they were defending very good, well-organised. I think second half we were much much better but it's a shame because we conceded just in 93-94 minutes and we could manage a little bit better at that moment. The first goal was a long ball over the top as well do you feel that was quite avoidable?

47:40Against this kind of team you have to be able to avoid transition and to avoid the set pieces. They scored from transition and from set pieces. It's something that, as I said, I think we deal quite well during the game but then at the end we concede that goal and it's a shame. You made significant changes at half-time. What was it you feel you needed to do differently in the second half? No, it was for Fana, we planned 45 minutes for him because he was out for a long time. then Atto and Buonanotte are something similar. Atto is coming from different countries, different leagues, he needs to adapt.

48:20And Buonanotte in the last period has not been great for him because knowing that he has to go somewhere. But overall they were OK. It made a difference though. Were you pleased with the way that your team grew into the game and started to create more after that? Yeah, I think second half we were much, much better. we deserve I think we deserve to win the game second half but it's a shame we lost two points. Cole Palmer's introduction made a big difference he got his goal but there was also another big chance after that for him too. Yeah, absolutely a long time almost three weeks out for him we know how good he is we know that he is going to help us and was very good when he was inside Once you went ahead do you feel there is anything differently you could have done to protect that lead?

49:07Manage better. Yeah, manage better at the moment. I think we could keep a little bit better the ball, even if we score, I think, 86, 87. And with six minutes extra time, we need to manage better that moment. It was a big crowd in the box for the long throw which Brentford equalised from. Did you have any complaints about that equaliser? Was it something you were unhappy with? No, no, no, no. No, no. I think we deal quite well during the game with set-pieces. Unless probably the goal we concede. Are some balls like that just almost impossible to defend against? When there are that many numbers in there?

49:45No, but especially when they have so many players that they can do that. You know, Coyote can do that, Jensen can do that, Pinoch can do that, and then at the end the shot there. So, they have so many players. Before that, there were one or two important saves from Robert Sanchez as well. What did you think of his performance as a whole? And from Keller too. So I think keeper, they are there to try to help the team to make safe. And I think both keeper, they did tonight. It begins an important run of fixtures for you now. It's going to be really busy and testing for the squad. What shape are you in as a whole?

50:18It's for us, it's for everyone. Now we start to play every three days. So for everyone, it's a busy moment. I appreciate your time. Thanks, Andrew. Thank you very much. You mentioned that the goalkeeper is there and said, look, that's what they're there to do, is to make the saves. But Sanchez has had quite a few critics, so good for him to have a good game in which there were a couple of important saves. No, I'm pleased for him actually because it's true sometimes he's made mistakes that have been very costly, but I think he's coming back strong and today a couple of saves, they were very good.

50:55So I'm pleased because the goalkeeper is such an important player for the team. you know, it gives security and confidence to all the defence and consequently to the whole team. So glad that it's happening. And particularly when you've gotten behind a defence that's had a lot of changes in it as well. Yeah. No, exactly. I think, yeah, when you have a lot of new players in defence, obviously you have a good game that can save some mistakes. It's vital. But in every team, I mean, if I look back, all the best teams in history, they always had a great goalkeeper. And I know because it gives a lot to the team.

51:36Yeah, and it was a really good performance from Sanchez. And he has had a lot of critics in the past, Jamie. But this wasn't a game where you could fall to middle. No, and I guess it must have given him a lot of confidence because there's been a lot of keepers, a lot of movement this summer. They've backed him. That's the most important thing. They could have signed somebody else. They could have maybe tried to go down a room or they could have gone for it. Lots of other keepers that were on the market. But they've said, you know what? We are going to trust him. I know he's worked closely with a goalkeeping coach there.

52:05He has got tremendous athleticism. He's got a lot of great attributes. He's just every now and again, it just feels like a little bit of a concentration issue. If he can get that right, you can see the saves he makes. He's a brilliant athlete and he makes great saves. So, to all, it finished at the G-Tech Community Stadium. So, Keith Andrews side pick up a point at home to Chelsea with that late, late equaliser from Fabio Carvalho. We will hear from Keith Andrews next.

52:35Brentford got a last-minute equaliser to draw two all at home to Chelsea and Brentford boss. Keith Andrews joins us live from the GTEC Community Stadium right now. Keith, obviously there's the huge celebration when the goal goes in from Fabio Carvalho. Now you've had a little bit of time to reflect. What are your thoughts on the result? I thought it was when we deserved. I thought the way we approached the game was with bravery, with courage, in a way where we wanted to make the game very difficult for them, play the game in certain areas where we knew they didn't want to play. First half, I thought we were excellent at that.

53:11Second half, naturally, with players that they have coming off the bench, it's always going to prove difficult. They're always going to get a grip of a game to a certain degree. But I thought we came through that a little bit. I was disappointed in the way we conceded maybe, but then ultimately the courage and the relentlessness to come back into the game and the full use of the squad for us was on show tonight. You talked about before the game setting up with that back three and that being the best way you felt to approach the game against Chelsea. And there were a lot of long, I'm not going to say long balls, I'm going to say long passes in the game itself.

53:48And actually it was one of them from Jordan Henderson that led to the opening goal. Why do you think that approach was so effective? They're a very good pressing team. The way they look to get after you in your own half, I think they're very good at it. In the first half, I felt we were causing problems by flipping between a three and a four. We used our goalkeeper quite well to engage the opposition, bounce around them, but ultimately, once you draw them out of positions with the type of forwards that we have, and naturally, centre-halves now aren't particularly used to playing against two centre-forwards, so we wanted to play with us two centre forwards and then join in from that and then it's up to the players to make those decisions ultimately on the pitch and i think jordan in particular with the with the assists did it really well we found the way out of pressure found a really precise pass which the lads in the studio would have been happy with and kevin did what kevin has done pretty often for us over the last year or so he's going to be a big player for us keith jeremy redknap congratulations did that first goal epitomize everything that was good about your team with that i'm talking about First of all, the back post headed by Coyote.

54:53Then you win the first contact with Matthias Jensen, who slides it into Thiago, who does great to just keep it alive for the team. And then once Jordan has it, as you say, fantastic pass and a great finish as well by Kevin Sharder. Yeah, I think you're right, Jamie. I think it's spot on. The nature of a team like Chelsea, they're going to force you back into areas. You've got to defend your box well. You've got to be organised. The structure's got to be good. But then ultimately, you need to throw punches. You need to make it uncomfortable for them. You need to take care of the ball. And Thiago will always do that.

55:23He holds the ball up really well. And then you want to join in and then ultimately Kev playing a little bit higher to try and expose them on transitions. And yeah, in that scenario, it worked out really well. Jordan Henderson, has he... Because I must admit, when he went to Saudi and then obviously he went to Ajax and it didn't quite work out the way that he wanted, he's come to you. Are even you surprised how well he's done? Because I thought he was magnificent today. Not really, Jamie. Christian Norgard left in the summer and naturally that was a huge void for us because he was the captain, he was the glue in midfield, knows the game and you know what it's like in central areas.

56:00Sometimes it's not what you're told to do, it's just that knack of being in the right position and leading the team, leading by example. Jordan, I became aware he might be available, had a couple of conversations with him, struck up a good rapport with him, explained what I felt his role would be within the team and then for him to come to a club like this and play a big part as an experienced player to nurture some of our younger players because we have got a young squad. We've got a young midfield like Jarmaluk in there. He will benefit so much from playing alongside Jordan. So he hasn't surprised me, but equally I've been really, really pleased with his performances.

56:36Hi, Keith. It's Gianfranco Zola. No, just congratulations. Congratulations. We had doubts because of the number of players, important players that they left the club, how the team could do. But we all spend a lot of compliment words to your team because they did very well. They stood up to, in my opinion, a very good team as Chelsea is. And they came out with a good result in a difficult situation. Well deserved. Congratulations. Thank you, John Frank. I appreciate that. It means a lot. I'm aware of the narrative around the club and naturally when top players leave the building, which they have, it naturally creates a little bit of uncertainty.

57:24I've been pretty comfortable with the way the club has gone and the decisions that have been made because it's so well run. And I think what happens at this club is when you look at certain players like Mikel Damsgaard, who unfortunately wasn't available today, he had an illness overnight. He wasn't the Mikel of 12, 18 months ago, but because you have the environment to work in on a day-to-day basis to develop patient environments, supportive environments. Players are allowed to grow and they have that time to do it. And I know there's a lot of players in this building ready to go. Fabio Carvalho being one of them, who's probably been unlucky not to play more minutes, a very talented player that will always score goals.

58:04So there's a lot of talent in this building. And for us, I think it's more about just building a new team and those relationships, as you both know, it takes a little bit of time to build those relationships and rapport and that know-how of what your team-mate's going to do, your midfield partner or your centre-back partner. We're getting there. And Keith, even as you make the point about being happy with the squad that you have, it was a big summer in terms of the captain Christian Norgard going, all the goals of Umbermo and Wiss are going, no Mikel Damsgaard, as you pointed out today, either.

58:34But is this a team, and you mention it being a team that's kind of growing, is this a team that has a lot of developing to do still over the course of this season? We're only four games in. Yeah, I think that's fair, Kelly. Naturally, it's a younger squad. You take a step back to dust yourself down and work out what you've got. I'm so glad the window's closed, I must admit that, to know who's going to be in the building and what we've got to work with. But I have said to the players after the game, it's the strongest bench I've seen at this club in the last 15 months since I've been at the club.

59:09It really is. It was difficult to pick the squad. I had to leave Anthony Malambo out of the squad who the club paid a lot of money for on the summer at Dutch on the 21 International we've got a lot of talent and I think when you're building a new team I think for me what some coaches can get carried away with is the beautiful game for me it's about foundations and you can't build a nice house and put windows in first we have to get the foundations in and I think we've been doing that pretty well over the last few months in terms of what this club is about, what will make it successful going forward.

59:44And we can always add layers to that. Keith, I appreciate it. It's getting late. So thanks so much for coming out to talk to us. Pleasure. Take care. All the best. Thank you very much. I'm really interested to hear Keith Andrews talk about the development of that side because it did look bumpy on that, that first day of the season with the defeat by Nottingham Forest, who kind of, for various reasons, drifted away as the season has gone on. But there's some good, and then the defeat by Sunderland, but there's some good performances in there as well. That young side will be variable. A couple of things that he said, it touched me a lot because I totally believe in him.

1:00:25You know, we set an environment where people, they know they can grow. People, they can grow better. And that is something that I totally believe. I work with the Italian Federation now for the third league and we are trying to establish this type of mentality with the clubs. If you really are creating an environment that helps the players to get the best out of them, you can really, really make very good things. And I think Brentford is one of those good examples for us. I think you're spot on, Franco. And especially, you mentioned how difficult it is. What he was thrown at the start of the year with lots of players, important players leaving, your captain and the two forwards that were just goals every single week or assists.

1:01:15To be thrown that if you're Pep Guardiola would be difficult, let alone your first job, your first managerial job. It was never going to be easy, but I think he's so settled. You can see he's obviously an intelligent guy. He knows the game and he's very calm and assured. And then you rub off on the players. And I think the way they perform today, they show that they're going to be a really good team that are going to develop and get stronger. And no doubt they've always got contingency plans there. They know what their targets will be next. They do everything on the scientific side of the game, the data, making sure they're bringing in the right players.

1:01:45They're probably already at the club and they're ready to play at some point. So as he says, it's a well-run club and he'll be delighted with that because that feels like one of those points is just going to calm everything down. And it was such an important one, but it wasn't just the point that was important, it was the manner in which they played, which I was really impressed with. And of course, he was heavily involved in set pieces last season and that's now seven goals from corners that Brentford have scored since the start of last season. And that's the next one along the list is two. So it just shows you how impressive that is.

1:02:14I would have said, Kelly, many years ago, I just tried to play football like Franco Zola. Now what I'd say is learn how to throw the ball a long way. Learn to be Dave Challenger. Learn to just launch the ball. Everybody wants to grow up to be Dave Challenger these days. Coming up, we will have more reaction from the game that took place earlier this evening. Feels like a long time ago now, but it was a big win for Tottenham, a 3-0 victory against 10-man West Ham. This season, Sky Sports is showing even more live Premier League football. We've got at least 215 live games, including more matches on Fridays and Mondays.

1:02:49For the first time, all the games on the final day of the season will be live in one place. and in another first, Sky Sports can now offer multiple live matches at 2pm on many Sundays through the season. To become a Sky Sports customer, head to sky.com. For now, though, let's get back to the Sky Sports Premier League podcast.

1:03:18Earlier today, it proved to be another unhappy day for the Hammers as they were beaten 3-0 at home by Tottenham. here's what happened.

1:03:28Curls another one in and that's Sarr!

1:03:35Pat Matassar, who scored twice on international duty, comes back to club duty with Tottenham and gives them the lead in this derby.

1:03:53That was a lunge and it's an immediate red card. Jared Gillett barely left himself with any thinking time as the problems pile up for West Ham.

1:04:13Bergwahl! And it's beyond the goalkeeper's reach and on the occasion of his 50th game for Tottenham it's all smiles for Lukas Bergwahl his first ever Premier League goal

1:04:34This is Tell Bergwahl found some space, and van der Ven sweeps it in, and Spurs have a third. And this could really get messy for West Ham now. They conceded five here against Chelsea, and they are facing an uphill struggle now against more London rivals.

1:05:05The scoreline is a difficult one for us. The second half went away quickly. I thought the first half was good, I thought the performance was good, I thought we restricted Tottenham to not too much, there was pressure from set pieces but I thought we showed our attacking intent, positives from Cree coming back in his first game, Cree and Malik down the left I think did well in the first half. Matthias contributed as well. Kyle down the right helped. So there's positives in the first half especially. And then because we make a mistake early in the second half and in the red card, quickly the game went away.

1:05:38It's a five-minute spell where the game's just completely gone from us. I think it was a clear and a well-deserved win. I think the first 15-20 minutes, I think it was more even. West Ham had a few opportunities across the box. but after that last 20 25 felt we we were more more on top and I think we dominated clearly the last whatever 15 in first half produced a good moments chances opportunities crosses corners happy that we continue second half or sometimes that half you know kill the momentum but we just carried on score a fantastic very good first goal actually even better second goal and then one Are you understanding of some of the fans leaving after that third goal?

1:06:27Perhaps some of the verbals that you might have been greeted with as you were coming off the pitch? Yeah, they're disappointed as we all are. We were all on a real high last week, but in football you can go from highs to lows really quickly. I think I spoke after the win last week, after speaking after a couple of defeats. When you get those wins, it's important to enjoy them together because those moments are real sacred when we win a football game in the Premier League. And when you lose, you have to just accept that you lost the game. You can't change it now. We're disappointed. The fans are disappointed.

1:06:59I'm disappointed. But ultimately, we can't change it now. We have to face whatever comes our way. And that's part of playing for this club. They expect a lot. We expect a lot. We've had some real good success over the years. I've been here nearly six years now. I've been through a lot of different highs and lows. But there are always lows in the football season, but there's also highs as well. so you just have to ride the storm. When you've lost like that, then of course everybody's upset, I understand.

1:07:29But from our perspective, we have to look at the positives, we have to look at the situation. We've played two games at home against two top sides in terms of where they are in the Champions League, where they're playing, they've invested a lot. So we're a new team and we have to stick together and we have to focus on the things that we've done well, but also understand how we can improve. Well, Graham Potter with a very practical solution to that and genuine explanations as to why it might not look great this season. But even, Jamie, if we go back to last season, out of the 17 ever presents in the Premier League, West Ham are bottom for wins, home defeats, points, expected goals, shots per game and goal difference.

1:08:12We reflected on a good performance for Spurs, but the big question that remains after this game is, what does the future hold for Graham Potter? Well, look, the price on the ticket, he knows. If you're not performing, especially at a club like West Ham, the pressure will come quickly. And it isn't just for this season. It's been, obviously, last year that Graham would be well aware of. The results haven't been good enough. The performances haven't been good enough. There's not been enough for the fans to get behind and look and go, right, actually, we are really progressing. I do feel there was a little bit of a lack of depth in that squad.

1:08:41And I've tried to bring in a couple of players towards the end. They brought Somerville back into the team. Fernandes looks like he's going to be a good signing. But it's going to be a long season for them. You know, I didn't like, when I watched them against Chelsea, Obviously, Sunderland at the start, first game of the season, they were just outmanoeuvring every department. Chelsea were just too good for them. Then Forrest was a huge result for them. And you thought, OK, maybe they've turned the corner. Today was tough because I think Graham Potter alluded to it there or Thomas Frank said it.

1:09:07The first 20, 30 minutes, there wasn't a great deal in the game. But once Tottenham scored and then the man, they got sent off and then it just became really difficult for them to get back into it. But those results have now gone. And what you've got to look at is, OK, now we've got Crystal Palace, We've got Everton, Arsenal, Brentford, Leeds. Their games, whatever way you look at it, they're in and around them. Leeds are a team that's going to be fighting relegation with. I look at this team, that's where I see it. That's just my opinion. You know, Crystal Palace are obviously going to be better than that, but you've got to make sure you're finishing above those sides and getting results, because otherwise it's going to be a really long, difficult season.

1:09:41And playing at home at Upton Park or the London Stadium, where they are now, it's never been easy because the pressure's on you. The fans are demanding. They want good football. Franco knows as well as anybody. But if you can get it right, it's the best place in the world. But when it's against you and it is against him right now, you've got to dig in and you've got to get performances. And I don't see a lot of light at the moment. I think we're going to see a lot of performances like the Chelsea one and then we're going to see the odd Nottingham Forest great result. But it's going to be a long season for him, make no mistake.

1:10:07And even then, the Nottingham Forest result now, in the wake of the Spurs result, starts to look like playing a Nottingham Forest side where the manager's future was extremely uncertain, where he then went on to lose his job, then went on to part ways with the club in the international break. How concerned are you about West Ham this season with the start they've made? Well, I think it's unfair to say that because I actually watched the game and I think West Ham deserved to win the game. And Nottingham 4 played a good game. They won the game towards the end. Well, I see a lot of things that I like in the West Ham team.

1:10:46I think they have a lot of quality, especially from midfield onwards. The only thing I noticed tonight is when you have so many talented players on the pitch, you need to have more control of the game. They had for the first 20 minutes, they were playing good football. They created a great chance with Paqueta. They should have scored. But they didn't have that for enough time. When that happens and you give the opposition to take too much control of the game, then you struggle, especially if you are not a physical team like they are. So that is the point. So I think, you know, they can really turn it around because they have the quality to do that.

1:11:29But they need to get better, especially in controlling the game. Gianfranco, Jamie, thank you very much for your company this evening. There's lots more football still to come this weekend. It's been a really busy Saturday. and there's a great Sunday of Super Sunday action coming up for you. Burnley against Liverpool from one o 'clock on Sky Sports Premier League and it's followed by the Manchester Derby.
