In short

Influencer and Bravo snark roundup on (1) Bridget (Acquired Style) Felon’s wedding to Mitch McHale and photo-leak drama, (2) commentary on missing/absent Acquired Style figures (Carly Weinstein, Bran Flakez), (3) Kate Jenkins vs. Ella Rose over influencer-brand criticism and rumors about Ella Rose’s husband, and (4) hosts discussing Hulu’s House of Stassi and Stassi Schroeder’s post-cancellation portrayal.

Guest backgrounds

No podcast guests are interviewed. Hosts are Christy and Sophie (Snarkbait). They reference other public figures: Bridget Felon, Mitch McHale, Danielle (Acquired Style twin), Carly Weinstein, Bran Flakez, Clea, Brielle Bierman, Kate Jenkins, Ella Rose, and Stassi cast (Katie Maloney, Christina Kelly, Beau).

Key claims

Wedding photos violated “no release until bride/groom allow” rules; Clea’s awkward Instagram response (“curtains closed”) and Brielle Bierman posting the same Vera Wang dress ~12 hours after the wedding are framed as shady. Bran Flakez’s “pay transparency” is criticized as braggy. Kate Jenkins’ “gay husband” rumor comment is called harmful; Ella Rose’s long PR-style reply is seen as performative, and her “fuck off” clapback is defended. House of Stassi is criticized as self-produced, contrived, and still reflecting problematic behavior; Stassi’s “canceled” narrative is challenged.

Notable examples

Vera Wang wedding gown; TikTok/DM leak chain; Bran’s “y’all seem miserable” comment; Ella Rose’s comments about “Credo Clean Standard” and “brow gel”; Stassi’s “past life” claims about her daughter Hartford and her mother Dana; Beau wanting “normalcy”/casting work.

1:45Hey, everybody. What's up? Welcome back to another episode of Snarkbait. I'm Christy. I'm Sophie. And we are doing things a little differently today because we had some scheduling issues. So we don't have a What's the Snark episode today. So we are basically doing Dark Energy Thursday. So which is exciting. Influencer edition or, you know, Bravo Liberty because we're going to talk about House of Stassi. So, yeah, I am excited. Christy, how are you doing? By the way, Christy was just telling me, like, just, you know, talking about like real life stuff. And I was like, okay let's get this fucking show on their own i was like hit record nance no i know it's it's it's been quite a long day but i'm no i'm happy to be talking about the topics at hand here because i feel like influencer snark is on fire recently and we have to talk about the trending topics so we're recording this on tuesday august 11th uh in the evening so these this has been kind of a trending topic right now we have to talk about bridget felon's marriage the nuptials to her now husband, Mitch McHale.

2:52Congratulations to the newlyweds. She got married, I think, in Newport, Rhode Island. Newport, Rhode Island. Yeah. Yep. Stunning. Let's talk about a couple of things. First of all, Sophie, being the fashionista that you are, what did you think about her Vera Wang gown, her wedding dress? I thought it was pretty. I thought she looked really pretty. And, you know, there are a couple of things they may have changed. I think like the the florets, like the fact that there were like the, the rose appliques or whatever they're called. Um, the two, I didn't like how there were just like two big ones, but I think she looked gorgeous.

3:27I think I would have lost the necklace cause there's already like so much going on. Um, but otherwise she looked beautiful and like wedding dresses are so like personal if she felt beautiful and if she loved it, that's all that matters. Um, very happy for her. And you know what? I have never been like a huge follower of either acquired twin. Um, I feel like I'm just not their demographic. I'm too old. But I do think it's really sweet how close her and her sister are. Because did you see how some photo we received them in a group chat, the photos that leaked? And it was apparently someone at the wedding named Clea, who's like another influencer that they're friends with, who sent them to someone that couldn't be trusted.

4:09And they ended up going everywhere, including our own group chat. And someone who ended up posting the pictures to TikTok, showed all the DMs they were getting from like Danielle and Bridget. Danielle is Bridget's twin sister. And they were like, take it down, please. They're like, we'll send you Fifi. But I thought it was really sweet how I feel like Danielle as her maid of honor was like, I like I will handle everything. Yeah, I that was kind of salacious. I think, you know, if you're an attendee at a wedding and an event as big as this, as high profile as this one is, I mean, it was featured in People magazine.

4:47I think that you kind of owe it to the bride and groom. They're hosting you. They're throwing you this lavish, lavish party. You should be respecting whatever the rules were. And in this case, it was to not release photos until the bride and groom allowed you to. So it sucks. It sounds like Clea probably just sent it to her own friend group and then someone in the friend group released it. So it wasn't like a direct leak, but a leak nonetheless. And it's not a good look. And interestingly enough, Clea posted like a couple of the wedding photos on her personal Instagram. and Acquired Style comments, oh my God, love this, even though you leaked my photos.

5:22And then Clea MXL responds, curtains closed for me with like the salute emoji. And I just thought that was just a little awkward. I certainly wouldn't want my name to be Clea today or to be on blast because it's just kind of embarrassing. And I'm kind of embarrassed for her. Yeah, I mean, I don't know, but clearly Acquired Style doesn't care that much. She ended up releasing her photos like the next day. I totally understand why she was like, I want to release my photos first. But it seems like her and Claire are cool because she commented. And yeah, she shouldn't have done that. I'm sure she, like you said, just sent it to her group chat or whatever it was.

5:57And someone in her group chat could not be trusted. But also it's like this isn't like Zendaya and Tom Holland. I'm sorry. Like it's not that serious. Right. It's not Taylor and Travis. I think that with any influencer wedding, I'm like, it's really just not that serious. Like, it's not that serious. There were people sneaking photos, like, from outside the venue. And I'm like, oh, my God, this is not fucking, like you said, Taylor and Travis, like, relax. It's not that serious unless there was an explicit rule and you fully just, like, went against that. Then I would feel a certain type of way.

6:30I'd be like, dude, I know it's not that serious. But also, I just told you, like, follow a simple instruction. Like, that's just kind of shitty. But you're right. It's, I mean, like, at the end of the day, it's not that serious. It's fine. She ended up releasing the photos, like, a day later. So. Right. Did you see the Brielle Bierman kind of controversy about the dress? And I thought Brielle was being shady. Me too. And she said that she wasn't. So basically Brielle Bierman, Kim Zolciak's daughter, Ariana Bierman's sister, posted the dress I almost said yes to. And it's literally this Vera Wing dress.

7:01Exactly. And everyone was like, okay, that's shady because why would you post that right after it was like maybe one of the first leaks of Bridget's wedding photos. She posted this on Sunday. so the day after Bridget's wedding and people were like okay you're being fucking shady way to make it about you and she came back and she was like hey and she showed a time stamp I guess and she was like I have this post scheduled because I'm ramping up the wedding content let me read it because I have it in front of me oh yeah addressing this once and for all as you'll see I made this video on Friday like Sophie said with a screenshot of like the time and date that it was taken we had it scheduled to be posted on Sunday for engagement purposes I've never met at Acquired Style and did not know she was getting married this weekend, let alone see a leaked photo of her.

7:45She clearly has great taste that she went with this Vera Wang for her dress. My wedding is approaching, so my content strategist wanted me to start posting vital content leading up to my date. I have another video of an additional dress I almost said yes to that is pre-scheduled to post tomorrow. To Acquired Style, I genuinely hope you had a fabulous wedding day and enjoyed your dress. Sometimes, like, okay, while this may be true, okay, there's certainly a world in which this is correct and she's telling the truth. What are the odds? What are the odds that you not only tried on the exact same dress, but posted it a mere 12 hours after like that wedding wrapped?

8:17Yeah. Like why be shady? Just let Bridget enjoy her weekend. Speaking of people that, unlike, you know, Brielle that was not there, I saw that a couple of folks were noticeably absent. And again, I'm with you. I don't really follow the acquired style twins. I honestly don't know anything about them have we done an episode on them um no but maybe we should yeah I feel like we should just because I feel like they are in the zeitgeist but I noticed that people were pointing out Carly Weinstein was not in attendance I just kept seeing that um they had I remember they had some I think beef oh when Carly Weinstein I think posted a TikTok about how like she said something about people that work out really hard and like film their TikToks when they're like red and sweaty.

9:05She was like, you don't have to work out until you're red and sweaty, just so you know. Something like that. And it seemed like she was shading the Acquired Twins because that's their whole thing is like just being red and sweaty when they work out. Oh, that's funny. And I think that one of them commented or something. Both of them commented. It was something like that. So I think that they share a lot of mutual friends, obviously, but like they're not friends. Again, it's so like low stakes. Like I'm like, who the fuck knows? But yeah, it doesn't seem like they're close. Yeah. And I also noticed that people were asking, where's Bran?

9:35Where's Bran Flakes? And of course, he had to make his appearance or lack thereof known because he commented something like on one of their Instagrams, like, sorry, I couldn't be there. And like, thank God, because like people were wondering, including myself, which by the way, me and Rachel, we had done an episode when you were out of office a couple weeks back and we had posted to our Instagram something about like Hallie Kate Kaur and Bran commented. Hallie Kate's wedding. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. It was her wedding. That's what it was. and Bran commented and was like, you girls are miserable.

10:03And I was like, wait, but like, I kind of like you. Like, please don't go. Like, I felt embarrassed. First of all, what could be more important than Acquired Style's wedding? What did you have instead, Bran Flakes? Second of all. Great question. Him commenting that when you guys didn't even say anything like mean from what I remember, you guys were just saying, oh, her dress was interesting. It was, you know, again, like wedding dresses are so personal. She liked it. Who cares? Right. you know? And you guys were like, Hallie Kate core, like it's become such an annoying thing. You guys were just like dicking around.

10:37Like, wasn't that serious? You didn't say anything that mean. He goes, y 'all seem miserable. I think he said y 'all, didn't he? First of all, that actually sounds correct. He's from Philly. So stop with the y 'all. Okay. Yeah. Second of all, the only reason that you or Hallie Kate or anyone or acquired style, whoever it is, is relevant is because of people like us. We're fucking keeping you relevant by talking about you. So get used to it. Yeah. It's like what Ariana Grande says. She's like, haters, keep me fed. You know, Bran, we're keeping you fed. So you know what? You should be kissing the ring.

11:11Kiss my hand. And for the record, I've never liked Bran Flakes. Chris, you have, but I don't like him. I don't know why. No, I know. It's always me on the island. Yeah, it's you on the island. It's something that he does that I don't like, but I know is an unpopular opinion on my part, is that he always, like, in the name of transparency, talks about how much he makes as an influencer, but it comes across as like just braggy. I'm like, okay, you wanted like an excuse to brag that you make like a million dollars a year. I think it's like something like that. No, it's... No, Sophie, 1 million percent, every TikTok I had that's not on his own personal account, he's always being featured on some kind of podcast.

11:49And it's like, if you didn't know, I made 1.5 million last year. And you have to understand that there are expenses to this revenue. I have lawyers. I have a retainer. I got a manager. I got a publicist. Oh my God, like shut the fuck up. You own a business. Like we get it. He's told that story so many times where he's like, I was making my TikToks on the side. And then I realized that I was making more money from posting my TikToks. And I really just committed to it. And at that point, I realized that I could quit my corporate job. And now I'm making$900 ,000 a year. It's like, we know. And he like waits for applause.

12:24No, I know. It's like there's no one in the room. There's no one in the room. he's waiting for applause no but he doesn't under the guise of like I'm just being transparent guys like I know you guys are wondering how rich I am like shut the fuck up in this economy we don't know I know it's completely tone deaf and that's such a good point and when you go on those comments by the way we're the only ones that have this opinion because if you go on all those comments everyone's like thank you king for your transparency yeah it's like why are you thanking him for bragging about making a million dollars a year like what is so like helpful about that I'm sorry And maybe I'm in the minority.

12:56And I know a lot of I think I am in the minority, clearly. It's a silent. It's just me. It's a silent majority. I'm telling you, we're the only one to say it. OK, no. Like, I'm just going to say it every time an influencer or whoever it is talks about their like transparency, pay transparency, whatever it is. Keep that to your own. Like, I understand the value in talking about salaries when you're in the same industry as someone. Like, yes, absolutely. You should be sharing your salaries with, you know, I guess your coworkers in certain situations or your peers or like when actresses talk about how they made less than their male counterparts.

13:34Very important. Why are you as a rich influencer telling us like that has nothing to do with me? In fact, it just pisses me off. No, 100 percent. And it's like you and I love it how every time I go in the comments, it's like it's the patriarchy that keeps us quiet about this. thank you so much for your bravery. It's like for admitting he makes seven figures in a year, all of us will be fucking saying that then. Like, shut up. It's not brave. It's braggy. It's exactly perfectly said. Wait, that's so funny. I've never heard anyone bring that up, Soph. But like, you're completely right. Anytime I see a TikTok of him, it's always just about that.

14:11It's like, we get it. We get it. Like, you've made your point. How many fucking podcasts are you're going to go on to talk about how rich you are. Like, we get it. No, I know. It's exhausting. I, too, would like to make a million dollars, okay? Oh, my God. I don't know about you guys, but with summer in full swing, I am on the move constantly. As a lifelong renter who's probably going to be renting for the rest of my life at this point, it's hard for me to justify splurging on custom furniture or like chic, expensive vintage home finds when I know this isn't my forever home. That's what Wayfair is for. Because even though renting makes me less enthusiastic about spending money on furniture and home decor, I still want my apartment to feel chic and elevated, duh.

17:34I've turned to Wayfair for home upgrades for over a decade now, long before they were a sponsor. 18:33Speaking of influencers, let's also talk about this influencer. Her name is Kate Jenkins, and she was called out by Miss Ella Rose for talking. She did like a whole TikTok. It was like a 45-second TikTok that I noticed you actually reposted. This was like weeks ago she posted this. Yes, I remember this TikTok. Oh, my God. I remember this. Okay, so it's Kat Jenkins, I think is her name. And she posted, she was like, why does anyone buy these influencer brands? Like, why? Like, why would you want Fifi on your butt? Speaking of acquired style. Why would you want like blah, blah, blah, whatever it is?

19:04They're just going to end up in landfills. First of all, she's 100 % correct. And then she says, Ella Rose, like who are you? Why are you buying skincare from Ella Rose? You know, Ella Rose, the one with the gay husband. Because I guess there are rumors about Ella Rose's gay husband, which we have no idea. I don't want to speculate on his sexuality at all. I've never, I've never even gotten those vibes. I don't even know what he looks like, to be honest. He's cute. He kind of looks like, um. Let me look. He kind of looks like Harry Styles. No, I think he's cute. I've never got, they seem very happy and in love, like never, ever, ever have gotten those vibes.

19:38So I have no idea, but I guess those are rumors that have floated around Reddit. And Ella commented on, sorry, I know you wrote these notes and now I'm just reading them. No, you can read them, read them. She goes, we would love to send you our products to try. It's clean makeup and we worked for two plus years to develop a singular product with our team in the Netherlands. We formula to Credo Clean Standard, meaning no dirty ingredients, and all of our packaging is part of the Credo Sustainability efforts. We are working to make products that are good for your skin and the world. Feel free to hate us as much as you would like, but would love for you to try the markets before you say there is so much better out there.

20:16Our brow gel is truly the best on the market. And then her next comment said, actually, I missed the gay husband comment. You can fuck off, XO. And then she posted a screenshot of this girl to her Instagram story and saying that she's like a like Reddit snake. When I saw this earlier, I didn't know like what this was. But now that you like wrote this down, I'm like, oh, I remember who this girl was in this video. And I think like, why did she even respond? Like, I don't think she needed to. I completely agree. And I think that her comment, I have two thoughts about this, actually. And it's like a perfect example of two things can exist at the same time.

20:50one she completely wrote that long ass paragraph about how they're like a singular makeup brand that's super clean and it follows all those regulations and she needs to try the brow gel we'll send you one for free she put that intentionally as like a pr move because after i read that paragraph i'm like hey i would try it like you just you just influence me then the second comment saying actually i missed the gay husband comment you can fuck off xo she 100 % wrote those two like comments like asynchronously she probably did it like one after the other just to make a point. So I just feel like that whole thing was very performative, that first paragraph, knowing she hurt her very well to saying that her husband was gay.

21:26I don't think she missed that the first time. Second, you go off Ella Rose. Like, I'm sorry. Back in the day when I used to troll Lames of Shannon and Lames so much, I haven't looked at their subreddit. Like, I'll scroll here and there. I don't know really what they're doing at all anymore. Like, I don't keep up with it. I just got a little bit. I just got over it. But there was a point when I was doing my old podcast, X knows all, and I had like all of 200 listeners and I posted this long episode about them. And if they found it and docks me, they should. In fact, if any influencer wants to dock snark bait, like I get it.

22:03Like I get it. I get we can be annoying. We're probably painting your side. You don't want to be talked about. But at the same time, it's kind of flattering to be talked about. Like I think two truths can exist. but like Ella Rose deserves to call this woman out specifically because I think it was actually harmful what Kate Jenkins did. I get that she's like tapping into internet lore and this is just what's being discussed on Reddit or whatever but I feel like when you're stooping down to calling someone's husband homosexual when he's married to a woman is is kind of not good. She was correct until she said the gay husband part.

22:35Yeah. She was like correct about everything she said about influencer brands are just going to end up in landfills. Why are you buying this crap? Like a hundred percent agree with that. But yeah, I think my thought is, and I think about this with Snarkweight too. I'm like, we're like nobodies. Why would they call us out and give us attention or like give us the satisfaction that we're bothering them? Like I think of us as like those little like trolls. It's like, why, why even bother? Like you're, you're Ella Rose. You're a household name. No, I'm just kidding. Ella Rose is big enough where she should feel unbothered, but I understand why it bothered her.

23:11But I think the comment was fine. And then it was just her posting on her Instagram story where I was like, you don't need to do that because so few people probably saw this video. Like now you're just drawing attention to it. And I feel the same way with like when we talked about Caroline Calloway and the CNBC girls, it's like, don't even give Caroline Calloway fucking attention. Just don't. Like it's not worth it. Yeah. But that's just me. That's just me. I think that Ella Rose 100 % called way more attention than it otherwise would have. I had like, for instance, for me, I am very tapped into influencer culture.

23:42I didn't know these allegations or these rumors that Ella Rose's husband was gay, but now she just called more attention to it. And I think that if she had just left it in the TikTok comment, it would have been seen by what, a couple hundred. Now, I don't know how many followers she has. I don't follow her, but she probably has a lot more on her Instagram stories, watching her stories and finding a comment as a diamond in the rough, you know, embedded in this girl's comment history who has 200 followers. So she just called more attention than is necessary. She has a right to do it. Yeah, she absolutely has a right to.

24:09And I understand that that would be a rumor that would really bother me. I don't even know if it would bother me because I would think it's so ridiculous. I would be like, Henry, Henry, this Henry. You know what's so funny? So me and my best friend, Sarah, we always say like, we always just feel like we have a pretty good gaydar. Like Sarah has a better one. But Sarah's like, one thing I know like sure Henry straight as an arrow that man is I mean like he is he couldn't be any more straight mark my words I go no I know like just so straight he's just like your typical like just like guy like and I understand also that like sexuality is like a spectrum obviously but that that's why like if someone said that about Henry I would just laugh but I I also understand why that would piss Ella off.

24:56I completely understand. You know what? I do like that she clapped back with the fuck off because, oh my God, her lobotomy, she's really showing some spice. Usually I'm so used to her just being so, you know, lobotomized. Didn't she buy a house in like the countryside a lot kind of like Paige Lorenz? The Catskills, I think. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh yeah. Things I love, sorry, I'm just going to her thing. Livingston Manor, New York. Things I love about her 1940s Catskills home that we renovated. Swipe to read. Oh, they have a Catskills home and then a Hudson Valley home. And those are different, I guess.

25:32Damn, this is a beautiful home. So they have, yeah. And her content is very, I like lurk. I'm not like an active follower, but I lurk and stalk her because I like her content. I don't know why I just like haven't hit the follow button yet. But I say that she's lobotomy goals as in she has a very, very, very monotone kind of voice and like very like, I don't know how to describe it, but like, I mean that as a joke. I'm not saying she was actually lobotomized. No, no. I think that's a common phrase when we talk about just women that are a little bit more like monotoned. Lobotomy goals. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

26:07Or anyone, not just women. We're not just suggesting that, yeah, that, but that's a term. It's a joke. But yeah, no. It's a joke. That's my opinion. Oh God. When you said that, I just had a flashback of the current season of RHOC. I know we've talked about it already. Did you watch Rugged? Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip? Oh, with Vicky, Kyle. Vicky, Kyle, Giselle, Lisa Barlow. Should I? Luann, Kyle Richards. Who am I missing? Oh, Portia. You come down here with your Herman Munster shoes. Teresa Giudice. Yeah, and it's basically just, so far, it's a lot of, like, the clips, the flashbacks of the iconic moments and less really happening, it's like fine.

26:51It's fine. The first episode is them in Orange County. So like Tamara shows up and Shannon shows up and Joe, remember Joe, and Jenna from season one. Or Gina, Gina. Gina, Gina Keough? Sorry. Yes. Wait, did you hear about her? Yeah, what's going on with her again? She was diagnosed with some cancer and I think she just had undergone radiation. radiation yeah real real housewives alum gina keogh in wincing pain as she struggles with radiation burns from her oh yeah tongue cancer treatment you know who that kind of reminds me of um shirley chung from top chef who also was diagnosed with tongue cancer i didn't know that and i love shirley i met her it's like really late stage sophie i i'm shocked you haven't seen this yet oh my god i can't believe i haven't seen this i met her and she was so nice she's she's amazing I think she had a restaurant, a couple of restaurants in Orange County that I don't know if I've ever been to them.

27:46But, yeah, she had her— Oh, yeah, she's stage four. Oh, my God. It's really late stage. Yeah, she's been fighting. Her and her husband have been fighting. And, you know, as a chef, you know, that's— Yeah, your tongue is like your superpower as a chef. Yeah, it's your greatest weapon in the industry. And now she doesn't even— That's so sad. She was the runner up of the season that Brooke Williamson won. Yes. Yes. I loved her and Brooke. I know. So I, that was a Refinery29 video that I did years ago. I like cooked with Shirley and Brooke. You're a fucking lure, dude. It's always something you pull out of the woodwork.

28:25What the fuck are you talking about? You cooked with Brooke and Shirley. Yeah. I have, I have a picture on my Instagram. Let me find it. But I am such a Top Chef super fan that it was like my dream come true. And guess what? To bring it full circle. Back to Snarkbait. Guess who was the video producer of that video? Hold on. Don't tell me. Do not fucking tell me. Serena Kerrigan. Yes. I got it. How funny is that? That's a true circle. I mean, yeah. Full circle, not true circle. Right? Like what even? I know. Isn't that devastating? So yeah, Gina Keough was OG. She was like season one through like, she was the first couple of seasons of OC.

29:07Oh, wait, here it is. That's me cooking with Brooke. Oh my gosh, that's so freaking cool. That's one of my favorite seasons, the Brooke Williamson and Chef Shirley Chum. It's an iconic season. Okay, speaking of Bravo, I see here that you watched the first few episodes of House of Stassi. What did you think? I know, you guys, I know. I'm eating crow right now. I get it. I'm eating my words because I know I said in the newsletter, if you're not already following, substack.com slash is it at snarkbaitpod or snarkbaitpod? I always forget. It's snarkbaitpod.substack.com. Snarkbaitpod. Oh, no. Are you talking about the Patreon?

29:45Sorry. No, I was talking about the snarkbaitpod.com slash snarkbaitpod is our Patreon and snarkbaitpod.substack.com is our newsletter. Yes. Sorry. So I said it in the newsletter, Substack, that I will never watch Saucy because she's a flaming racist and she doesn't deserve to be uncanceled because I think she's had it's not just like one isolated incident like i think so many people can make mistakes and they're capable of change like it's it's many incident after many incident that is so egregious that it could have quite literally ruined people's lives yes and she's just been given a chance after chance and that's really typical i think for white thin attractive women like saucy but because you know we talk a lot with our business on our channel on patreon we have a tier two or we have live chat that we just chat with our baby snarks.

30:31And a lot of them were writing dissertations in our business runner chat. And I was like, okay, I just feel like in order to kind of like engage with our baby snarks, I just want to like put in the work to at least understand what they're talking about. So I'm doing it strictly for homework. That's the way I like to see it. Although I don't like that I'm supporting her. It's not even something to sneeze about. Like I get that the show is coming off like some pretty good press. I think that she has a really great team behind her. She has like the Disney machine behind her because Hulu is a subsidiary of like the Disney conglomerate.

31:01And it's very clear she works very hard and she's making a killing recently. She was the host of like the Tell Me Lies podcast. She's attending all these premieres. They're treating her like the Hailey Bieber of Hulu. Yeah, she's like that. You're right. She's the Hulu darling. Like how Hilary Doff, Selena Gomez and Miley were like the Disney darling. She's like the Hulu darling. And I also just want to say, because I know like there was one comment that I was commenting this with the baby snark on one of our Instagram posts, how they said, why are you so anti-Stassi being on TV, but you talk about how Charlie on Next Gen NYC is hilarious and Jax is hilarious and blah, blah, blah.

31:37And it's like, if Charlie or Jax got their own show and we're being shoved down our throats the way that they are, that Stassi is being shoved down our throat, not to say that there's a comparison. I'm just saying that someone that is problematic, let's just call it that, someone that is as problematic as Stassi is and has been. Like you said, it's more than one incident. It was several, several, several incidents. And there's been I. OK, so let me confess also. I watched the first two or three minutes because, again, I felt like left out of the conversation and I wanted to be able to hopefully like recap it maybe for Patreon or something.

32:13I watched three minutes and I turned it off because when she said I I was on top of the world or with Vanderpump Rules and then I got canceled. Like it was something that happened to her. Yep. And that's actually a very good thing to point out, Sophie, because you're so right. I got canceled. I received the cancellation. No, no, no. Right. You made your cancellation. Like you were the doer of that. You called the cops on a black woman who you know damn well did not commit that crime that could have rescinded her military benefits. You were a rape apologist. You said that black people always complain at award ceremonies.

32:51Why aren't Asian or Latinos or Native Americans complaining in the same way that Black people are? I mean, we could go on. We're just scratching the surface, baby. And if you want to hear more about this. Nazi chic? Yeah. Yeah. Nazi chic. Exactly. I mean, the list is truly endless. And we do a whole episode. Sophie walked us through a really great discussion on Saucy and her moments. Her good. Because we can say that she was a great reality star. Like, we'll give credit where credit's due, similar to Jack's. But we're saying that when Jack started exhibiting violent, aggressive behavior on the Valley, roll the tape back.

33:22We literally said this man cannot be on our screen. As entertaining as he is on our television screen and as voyeuristic and as train wreck of a show this has become, we know when it's becoming dangerous. He needs help for his children, for his child. We can distinguish that. Wait, do you think, because I have heard that Stassi, again, I feel so out of the loop because I haven't watched it. Maybe one day, maybe one day. But people are saying that she exhibits like maybe abusive behavior towards Beau and very narcissistic behavior. Again, I haven't watched it. I'm just seeing what I've read online that like it portrays her really badly.

33:59Are you are you saying that that's similar to Jax or you're just saying like someone that is problematic in different ways? I was more saying the latter, like she's just problematic, just period, but in very different ways. I think what's interesting with Stassi, and we can say this because we've watched her on TV for over a decade at this point, remember her relationship with her mother, Dana? Yeah, and it seems like she's turning into her mother. Wait, did I send you that video of Stassi on Caitlin Bristow's podcast? I think I might have seen it. Sorry, keep going. Okay, you may have seen it like organically yourself.

34:32It was all over Twitter, and it's so psychotic. She basically was saying that she thinks that her and Hartford, her daughter, knew each other in a past life and that she was mean to Hartford or something because as soon as Hartford was born, she felt the bad vibes and the bad energy. Something I'm like paraphrasing, but that's essentially the gist, basically saying that her daughter right away gave her bad vibes and bad energy. Like, what the fuck are you saying? Your daughter's going to watch this one day. And she talks about how her mother was such a bad mother or whatever it is. you know we saw her mom be psychotic on Vanderpump Rules.

35:07It seems like she is turning into her mother. Yes thank you for bringing that up because I completely forgot about it but yes I have watched that clip. I don't know if you sent it to me. I saw it organically but she said something like you know how Stassi's really into like period pieces and renaissance and medieval times and she said something to the effect of like. Oh my god please leave her in 2018. I know. She's like I love murder in graveyards in the Victorian era. And ranch dressing like I'm not like other girls. Game of Yeah, it's just so basic and it's so put on. And that's also part of the reason why I just can't do this show, but I'll do it for homework.

35:40She basically said something to the effect of like Hartford and her might have been like mother and daughter and something. Something about like there was like a execution or something crazy. And she like she she made it into something like there was a period piece that she was involved in in a past life. And then she might have done something to Hartford in a past life that was so bad and negative. and then Hartford remembered her mother from this past life and has animosity towards Stassi as a result of this past life. Like, I have no words. Yeah, so that's kind of what I'm saying when I'm talking about Dana, her mother, is that it seems like Stassi has portrayed, at least on Instagram, because we really haven't seen her on our screens.

36:21I mean, we don't listen to her podcast. And I know she's been podcasting even post-cancellation. but she's been off our television screens for a while and all of what i've seen unless you watch vanderpump villa which who show yourselves again i don't want to get into that we have the random baby stars that are like i actually love that show or the one person i can't remember who it was who never watched vanderpump rules but watched vanderpump they like came out of the page like hey sorry it's me again um i wanted to let you know i'm not watching yeah never watch rules but I am tuned in for Villa.

36:56Oh, okay. Well, wonderful. It's your boat then. One of one. So I don't know where I'm going with this. Oh, I just think that she's - She's been off our screen. Yes. Thank you. She's been off our screens for so long now that for me, sometimes I forget that Instagram is not reality. When I look at her Instagram over the last five, six years, since I've not seen her on my television, I'm like, wow, she's such a great mom. She's so involved. da da da. It's very clear, at least whether it's self-produced or real, Bo takes the brunt of the child rearing because she is booked and busy. She's the primary breadwinner.

37:31She's the one making all the deals. She was told on camera by her chief of staff that Netflix was going to pick up her podcast. She's so booked and she's probably making an incredible amount of money. But it is very disheartening to see, and I hate even standing up for a man, but it is very disheartening to see Bo basically saying, I want to get back to normalcy. I feel like my whole life is now consumed into like your life and the kids and house child rearing and housekeeping and cooking. I want to go back to casting. I want to work a nine to six. And she was like, why? I'll just pay you to do that.

38:02It's not about the money. I saw that clip where she was like, you don't need to go back to work. That'll mess up our whole like lives. Who's going to watch the kids and blah, blah, blah, blah. And he's like, it's not about the money. It's the fact that I feel like I'm losing myself. I want to get back into casting or whatever he did before Vanderpump. And yeah, like I feel like, and you know, I saw lots of comments that are like, if the roles were reversed, we would say that is a controlling husband that is not letting his wife have her own life anymore. Yeah, that's a good point, actually. Like if we would be having a very different conversation if Beau were the one in Stosky's position right now.

38:41We will be like pitchforks and firers and knives going after him. But I completely understand what you're saying also about her being off our screens for so long, except if you're a Vanderpump Villa viewer, that you kind of forget. Like based on Instagram, she seems like such a hands-on mom, such an unproblematic, like calm person. She has it all. She has like the career. She has the kids. She has the husband. She has a beautiful house. and like all of these things. And then when you watch the show, at least from what I've seen, the clips I've seen and the discourse I've seen, because people have a lot of thoughts on the show, mostly negative from what I've seen.

39:20And people are like, wow, like her life is a disaster. A disaster, as Michelle Lolly would say. Disaster. Her marriage is a disaster. It seems like she doesn't have, you know, a great relationship with her children from what viewers see. Again, like I heard they're barely on the show, which is good, but it doesn't seem like she's the most hands on and not to like mom shame or anything. But it just seems like what you see on Instagram is on Instagram. She does portray being really, really, really hands on. And then on the show, she insinuates that she can't do bedtime. She can't handle being alone with the kids for 30 minutes or whatever it is.

39:54And people are just kind of surprised by that because it is so the opposite of her Instagram persona. Exactly. And I think that even I think we as consumers of pop culture and influencers, we think that because somebody has been off our screens for a period of time, they have automatically changed for the better. So Stassi's been canceled. She's been off our screen for seven years or whatever it's been. And we automatically think, oh, she's done the work. She's going to come back such a more mature, self-aware young woman. I guess adult woman now. She was a young woman in Vanderpump Rules. Now she's an adult woman.

40:26She's grown. But it really seems like the behaviors are very much the same. but she's not acting out because she's like high on Adderall, which she admits she was always on Adderall drinking. It's not that. It's like her dark passenger comes out in a different way whilst sober. And I think that's kind of like the crux of the issue is it seems like you would have had a lot more growing and healing in the off seasons. But like really you're kind of the same person. Yeah. Yeah. I also saw, what was it that I was going to say? I lost my train of thought. About, was it about? It was about Bo and Stassi.

41:08I don't remember. Well, while you're thinking about that, I was just going to say one other thing is, I think it's completely inspired. I think you used that term to have Katie and Christina Kelly on House of Stassi because they're the OG Vanderpump girls. It's kind of hard and sad to watch because Katie and Stassi address why they haven't. Have you seen this, by the way, this part? Or do you know what I'm going to say? No, I haven't seen this part. So tell me. Okay, so it's actually very interesting. So Stassi says that when she was fired from Pump Rules, that she went to a deep depression. Because she's like, when I found out I was fired, I was nine weeks pregnant with Hartford.

41:41I lost all my sponsorships, all my brand deals. No one had wanted to work with me. I had like this fat mortgage because I had just purchased this house during the pandemic. And Katie, my best friend, my ride or die, was still on the show. And she said that she felt at a loss because while her whole world was crumbling, Katie was like still making a lot of money. She was on top of the show. Like Katie had never had as much of a favorable edit as the latter half of like that show. And she came out on top and she did the sandwich shop with Ariana. And Saucy's like, listen, I felt like very isolated from you.

42:11And I felt like you and I were no longer on the same page because every time we would get together, I would be crying to you about how I'm jobless, no money to pay my mortgage. I'm pregnant and I'm hormonal. And I remember crying to you about this at my dinner table. and all you were doing was scrolling on your phone and you looked up at me and said, look how good the sandwich shop is doing. And Saucy's like, that felt very invalidating for me as your best friend. And Katie's like, I don't remember that instance, but it was kind of sad because I feel like they both were wanting and desiring to be back in one another's lives.

42:42And it was kind of, it felt almost cathartic for both of them to talk about it. And Katie was like, I was more just going through my own shit, like with the reality show and my marriage ending and I was just in my own world. And I didn't, I wasn't really thinking about how this was impacting you because I was on the show you were fired from and it was your world and your life. So I thought that was a really good thing to unpack and at least see on our screens because they were so close during the entirety of Vanderpump Rules, the majority of it. That's like the one thing I would be interested in seeing is like Katie Maloney.

43:10Yeah. And also I heard that Christina Kelly, it seems like she is in a not so great relationship is what I've seen. I think that comes out later in the season. Again, the amount of content that I've consumed about the show while refusing to watch it. But I think this would be a really good, like once you finish, we should talk about it on Patreon. Yeah, yeah. Like more in depth because I think there's like a lot to unpack. Yeah. And the last thing I will say about the show is that like so many other people are commenting about it. It's very clear that Saucy is a reality television pro. Like she's probably one of the best to do it.

43:48And we'll give her that. But it's very clear that she is pushing, She is self-producing very much. Oh my God. Just the clips, even the three minutes that I watch, she goes, oh, it's like, should I introduce myself? I guess I should. And it's like just so annoying. And let's just like, when I say that she is past her prime, I don't mean that in any way other than the fact that she's past her reality TV show prime. She is still stunning. She is more successful than ever. I literally mean that she used to be entertaining on reality TV because she wasn't so aware. And now I feel like she tries so hard and she's so contrived and she feels so 2018.

44:31And like, I just, I don't know, I can't get behind it. But again, I'm curious what you guys think, those of you who have watched it, because I know, like I said, it's been very polarizing. People have a lot of strong feelings. People either say, you know, she is selling out her family for fame. Yeah. And she admits that actually. She even says, I know that by doing this reality show, this will change the dynamic of my family, like the inner workings of my family. Also, like the fact that she's so obsessed with like Kris Jenner, that's also very 2018. Thank you. Oh my God. I was, you took the words out of my mouth.

45:04I was just going to say that as a parting piece with this story is, she has brought up Kris Jenner. I've only watched the first two episodes, you guys. So I know there's one more for me to watch. And then the fourth one releases, I think when this episode, the day this ends. Wait, I thought there were eight episodes. Yes, but they're coming out sequentially. So like, I think they released two at the beginning and there's only three available right now. And then like - Oh, I have no idea. Yeah, so you can't like, you can't binge it right now. It's the next release date is August 12th. So by the time, sorry, I keep thinking we're, I feel like we're recording DET and we're not.

45:33It'll release as of yesterday when you guys listen to this. Wait, are you sure? Yeah, because I was looking at the Hulu schedule. It says release date, August 29th, release date. 49:34moving on to another fucking hulu show enough i swear to god hulu is part of the illuminati or something like they're they're making deals with all these people so they can get their own show and i'm not understanding why brooks of brooks of nader house of neighbor love thy nader love thy nader whatever the fuck it is yeah brooks nader this is so weird you guys who is she again before we get to the story who art thou don't know i don't understand like i don't get it please stop talking about them. Like, I don't care. I really, really, really don't get it. I don't understand. It's a mystery. And I think that she does these things to be, to get attention.

50:15And kind of like with Stassi, it's like, at what cost are you trying to be famous? Because this is just fucking weird. She basically was in somewhere in Europe with her family on a yacht and she's topless with her dad. and her dad is literally next to her staring at her boobs. Topless. That is like a nightmare fuel to me. I'm genuinely not trying to be funny. Picture you in that situation. No, I'm like genuinely not trying to be funny. That is so incredibly disturbing to me. It's incredibly disturbing and Demois posted it and obviously all the comments were like, what the fuck? Which Demois knew when she posted it.

50:56I'm sure that this was like a background. like i brooks later isn't having paparazzi fall over around i'm sorry all the paparazzi photos are photos that she has called on herself um and sent it and probably has some sort of partnership with demois and obviously the comments popped off so this post got a ton of engagement and because it's disturbing obviously it's like you want to be famous so badly but at what cost like you really like i just i cannot understand wanting to be famous that badly and maybe you know I almost commend it yeah it's almost shameless to where you're like listen you're you're throwing morals and inhibitions out the window at that point I gotta respect that a little bit yeah it kind of actually reminds me of Kim K in like 2005 when she was like throwing herself in any in front of any pap camera that would like shoot Paris Hilton you know she was doing so many things intentionally there was not a single imitation she would turn down like it almost feels like whatever Kim K was doing pre-Dumois and pre-social media and pre-phones, Brooks Nader was taking that same formula and doing it for like the Gen Z version.

52:02But I like, I don't know. Something about her trying to do it with the family. Did you also see that Sarah Jane Nader was seen and spotted with Pete Davidson? Sarah Jane Nader is her youngest sister and she is 23. Pete is 30. Pete just had a child, Scotty Davidson, with Elsie Hewitt, who we've reported on a couple months ago. They split. But they were seen together. I'm like, this family is running amok in Hollywood, and I'm still unclear on what they do. I don't know the difference between the other sisters. Like, you could tell me that one is, I think one is named Grace. Did I make that up? Like, I think there's three of them.

52:38I know that one of them hooked up with Joe Burrow. I don't know which one. I do not know which one. But yeah, they are, yeah, like you said, running amok. And good for them, honestly, if they want to be famous this badly. I just could not imagine being photographed topless with my dad in order to bring that up. Even saying that out loud, I want to throw up. No, it's, it's, you know, you say like we're laughing, but it's like not, I'm genuinely very disturbed by this. No, like I actually can't. This is not a joke, you guys. And his face, he's like grinning. He's grinning and staring at her boobs.

53:15No, you guys, it's so disturbing. We'll post it on our Instagram, but it's incredibly, incredibly disturbing. And I also love that, like, people were commenting, like, what the fuck is this? And Jamal was like, what's the matter? What's the matter with you? People were like, what? It's Europe. I don't care. I don't care where you are. You could be on the moon. I don't care where the fuck you are. It's not. Time and place. Time and place. Oh, my God. I just, like. I don't care. Maybe let us know Europeans. Like, I know that it is a different culture there to be topless on the beach. Like, love that, honestly.

53:53But they're not European. They're not European, first of all. Second of all, do Europeans, when they go topless on the beach, do that with their dads? Like, or, like, are you just like, yeah, like, duh, I'm topless. And I just, you know, we're always topless on the beach. And yeah, here's my dad. Like, who cares? Or is it like you do that when you're with a certain, like, friends or, like, a significant another. Let us know. Like, I'm genuinely curious. I'm not trying to be snarky. Like, I'm genuinely curious. Like, what is the protocol? Or maybe don't. I don't want to know. No, I do want to know.

54:26I do want to know. Let us know the protocol. Like, does it depend on the group that you're with? Or is it just like, it doesn't matter who it's with. We go topless on the beach. Honestly, like, I am so like, I've been on topless beaches on Europe and I don't take my top off because I'm like, I'm not used to this. Like, I don't want anyone to see my boobs. At least pay me 20 bucks. Maybe then I'll be there. Like, I'll do anything for a buck, you know? Oh, my God. Like, no, I'm not doing that. I'm kidding, obviously. I'm not doing everything for 20 bucks. Honestly, like, good for everyone who does for being that confident.

54:55I think because I've grown up, like, not. Like, I'm not confident about walking around topless. Well, you know what's funny? I wish I was. When I went to school, I went to school in, like, a beach town. And there was a, right below my campus, there was a nude beach. and every single time you go to this nude beach, it's 99 % old men that are fully nude. Oh my God. And I remember being a freshman and not realizing that it was a nude beach and it was like, it's a beautiful beach, but you have to hike. Like you literally have to hike down to get down there. That's funny. And I remember just being like, why is that guy naked?

55:30Like, oh my God, we're being like accosted by this naked man. Everyone's like, no, this is a nude beach. It's a very popular nude beach. Wait, have you seen EuroTrip? the movie with Michelle Trachtenberg. Oh my God, Rip. Yeah, Rip, Michelle Trachtenberg, so sad. And also, Scotty Doesn't Know. Remember that classic song? I was thinking of Stacy's mom. No, it's, Scotty doesn't know that Fiona and me do it in my van every Sunday. She tells him she's a church buddy. You know, and Matt Damon plays the singer that Fiona is having an affair with cheating on Scotty. Anyway, so Michelle Trachtenberg is also, So like you said, R.I.P.

56:10Incredible, incredible in this movie. I love this movie so much. And that's a storyline. It's basically a bunch of, they graduate high school and then go on a Euro trip and they think they're going to some sexy nude beach since all old men. Yeah. And so I think like, I don't think it's the same in Europe because I think the culture is very different to your point. Men and women are, they're welcomed to go nudies on the beach. But I think in the U.S., I think it's maybe just, we're just a bit more conservative with our private parts. Yeah, and maybe it is because we have, you know, a Puritan culture here in the U.S., which isn't always a great thing.

56:47Yeah, you know, you give and take. You know what I mean, Nance? Well, I really respect the nude beach culture because you know what? To be that confident in your skin, I'm jealous. I wish I was. A hundred percent. But I would never do it in front of my dad. Thank you. That's where I draw the line. Yeah, and I don't think, Like, hopefully we're not offending anyone. I'm not trying to offend anyone. I just personally am shivering at the thought of that happening within my family dynamic. Also, like, I've just tried, like, again, don't want to offend anyone if this is your culture. If you do go nude on the beach with your dad, like, you don't, like, stand next to him, do you?

57:25Like, you're, like, down, like, you have your beach chairs and you're on the other side. You're on the other end of the line. You basically, for all intents and purposes. They were so close together. No, yeah. If you're right, that's a good distinction. If you were at a nude beach with your family, for all intents and purposes, you're on different beaches. You're on completely opposite sides of the damn lifeguard booth or whatever you want to call it. Like, no, no, no. They were literally, she could touch him. That's how close she was. We're not exaggerating here. You guys have seen the picture.

57:51I don't need to instruct you what happened. Oh my God. Yeah. Let us know, you guys, what you think about all of these topics. This was a fun, dark energy Thursday. As a lifelong renter who's probably going to be renting for the rest of my life at this point, it's hard for me to justify splurging on custom furniture or, like, chic, expensive vintage home finds when I know this isn't my forever home. That's what Wayfair is for. Because even though renting makes me less enthusiastic about spending money on furniture and home decor, I still want my apartment to feel chic and elevated. Duh. I've turned to Wayfair for home upgrades for over a decade now, long before they were a sponsor.

1:01:04From an armoire in our second bedroom to our randomly extremely chic wicker laundry basket that I'm literally obsessed with, Wayfair makes quality pieces that stand up to real life without breaking the bank. Budget-friendly but chic finds make all the difference in your space, in my opinion. Whether you're a renter like me or an actual homeowner, which don't rub it in, you can even see real customer feedback and photos before you buy, so you can shop with confidence. And with Wayfair Rewards, you can get 5 % back on every purchase, helping you get even more value from your Wayfair purchases and create a home you love without overspending.

And it's not just during a move when your to-do list can feel like it's 10 pages long. Sometimes I really just need an extra hand for those little things I feel like I never end up getting around to myself.
