In short
“Dark Energy Tuesday” episode of Snarkbait covers Ariana Grande’s post-tour retreat, Jax Taylor’s alleged fake Smartwater partnership and relationship rumors, The Valley finale backlash around Danny/Nia and Janet, and the ongoing controversy around Emily Kaiser and the drowning deaths of her son Trigg, plus related water-safety negligence claims.
Guests
No episode guests are discussed in the transcript. Mentioned names include Jax Taylor, Ariana Grande, and The Valley cast members (Danny, Nia, Janet, Lala, Jason, Kristen, Luke), plus Emily Kaiser and Brady Kaiser.
Key claims
- Ariana Grande’s team says she’ll step back from public visibility after the Eternal Sunshine tour; the hosts interpret the album “Eternal Sunshine” as troll-clapback in the first half and a hyper-sexualized Ricky-focused second half, suggesting a longer relationship than publicly assumed.
- Jax Taylor posted a “Smartwater” spa campaign; Smartwater says it had no affiliation. Jax claims he accepted an offer via a third-party influencer platform that wasn’t legitimate, and he confirms dating Lori K.
- The Valley finale: hosts argue Danny’s drunken behavior and drinking problem justify scrutiny; Janet’s drink/throw is framed as reactive, while audience misogyny may drive support for Danny.
- Emily Kaiser: hosts allege Brady’s negligence contributed to Trigg’s drowning (including lack of supervision/pool safety), and they criticize later behavior (boat video with Teddy without a life vest, white clothing, betting on phone, delayed accountability, and a pregnancy announcement soon after).
Notable examples
- Ariana: lyrics like “no one F’s me, F’s you like I do,” and “Freak” framed as anti-troll.
- Jax: Smartwater “#partner” post and subsequent denial; statement referencing Brittany and child-respect claims; “Bachelor” comment response (“no thanks, I am taken”).
- The Valley: Halloween party altercation; Janet throwing a plastic cup/drink; discussion of Luke’s threatening language about pregnant Kristen.
- Emily Kaiser: Trigg drowning timeline (about seven minutes), police-report mentions, boat footage with Teddy on Brady’s lap without a life vest, and community backlash including “community notes.”

1:39Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of Snarkbait. I'm Christy. I'm Sophie. It's another Dark Energy Tuesday, best day of the week, Soph. Yes. How's it going? It is going well. I saw The Odyssey yesterday, you guys. It was so good. It exceeded the hype. And I was worried that I was too stupid to enjoy another one of Christopher Nolan's movies because I'm too stupid for Memento. I'm too stupid for Inception, Interstellar. But they really dumbed it down for us, and I was thoroughly entertained. I saw it in IMAX in New Jersey at 10 a.m. because everything is sold out. So yeah, highly recommend.
2:24And that was basically my weekend. How are you, Christy? You're out of town. Yes, I am out of town and I am in Ojai. It's like a little east of Santa Barbara with my family just on like a little staycation. So we're staying in this like it's like this big kind of cabin. It's really cool. They have goats on the property and everything. So. Oh, cute. Yeah. It's cute for my niece. So, um, Miss Mo, by the time you guys listen to this, well, I'll still be here. So, um, that's why if you're on YouTube, youtube.com slash at Snarkbait Paw, you'll see my background is a little bit different. And it's just, let me just tell you, having to grab your equipment and move it.
3:06I actually did not think you were going to bring the fancy camera. I know. I'm impressed that you did. Like our cameras that we use for like the high quality video, you guys are so clunky and annoying. Like it's it's it's genuinely just too much. It's too much. It's too much. But yeah, no, we went to the Ojai Valley Inn yesterday for dinner. And have you heard of that hotel, Sophie? I feel like I have. I'm not as like proficient in California things as you are, but I definitely have heard of it. Yeah, it's like a really fancy schmancy hotel. And do you know corporate Natalie? Oh, we were talking about her offline.
3:46Yeah. Because Starkbait only follows three people on Instagram, me, Christy, and Drew Starkey, obviously. Duh. Our boyfriend. And we noticed that like someone followed a fourth person who was this random girl. Who is this girl? I don't even know who she is to be honest. She's Victoria. She's Victoria Garrick-Brown and corporate Natalie's friend I think from high school. I don't – like I follow corporate Natalie because I think some of her stuff is like funny and I think she's done very well for herself in like creating this – I don't know. She just is like brilliant I think when it comes to this space and she's earned a lot of money from it.
4:21But she got married at the Ojai Valley Inn. but anyways i was on corbin natalie's instagram and like her victoria garrick brown and this other girl who i guess also lives in sf with them or with natalie she's like another influencer a relatable millennial girl and i guess i accidentally followed her and rachel texted us i was like hey i'm just checking in who's this who's this why are we following her you accidentally followed her i think you meant to follow her but you accidentally followed her from stark bait No, I don't think I would have followed her, for real. Because I was like, who is this girl?
4:53No, genuinely, I don't even, like, I couldn't even tell you what she does, what her deal is. Like, I would own it, totally. I'm like, oh, it must have been a slip of the finger. Oopsie daisy. Oh, my God. That's so funny. We have a lot on the docket today, and I know we have minimal time. A ton. A ton on our dock, even though we have, like, a hard stop time. So there's, like, so much. What should we start with? Okay, I want to talk about Ariana Grande, because I've been nonstop listening to the pedal album. Have you listened? Yes. I have not listened yet, no. Okay, you know I'm an Ariana-nator.
5:21What? Yeah. I want to listen. I'm going to. It's really good. You guys know I'm an Ariana-nator. Seen her on tour. I genuinely really love her, and my appreciation is really transparent and shown on the Ariana Grande episode we did a couple weeks back. But a rep for Grande just told people yesterday, or on Sunday, that Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine tour. She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless ongoing public scrutiny.
5:57So what I think is really interesting about this is obviously we've, I don't even want to touch on like the body thing because we've talked about that a lot on the episode. What I think is actually really interesting. Yeah, you guys know how we feel about that. Yeah, yeah. I mean, like, I think it's, we're not even really commenting on a woman's body. It's just genuine love and concern. But besides that, I think with Petal, what's really interesting is half of the album is about her disdain for the trolls and the hatred that she gets online the first half of the album is all about that and then the second half of the album is about her love and adoration towards ricky her new boyfriend which me thinks that her and ricky have actually been dating far longer than we even realize meaning that her and ethan slater broke up a lot longer and i i do believe that the last time ariana and ethan were spotted together was i think he was on her instagram story or vice versa But in any case, they did spend the holidays together back in like the winter.
6:49And I feel like they probably broke up really quickly in the new year, at the beginning of the new year. And she got with Ricky really quickly because I think she's trying to control the narrative, obviously. And in this album, it's clear that she's been dating Ricky for a while now, at least like several months. But to us, we're like, oh, you're moving on so quickly. You just broke up with Ethan. But again, I think it's been a while since her and Ethan have been together. I don't think she's talking about Ethan at all in the episode. Like, I mean, in the podcast. She's, yeah, she is, she's like, it's kind of giving like Dangerous Woman, like, Thank You Next album.
7:26It's kind of like a baddie album, the second half when she's talking about Ricky. It's hyper-sexualized. She's talking about how much she enjoys having sex with Ricky. She's just like in her. Yeah, it's really salacious and hyper-sexual. She has a song called, I Like It. Hold on. Let me actually get this correct. Like I Do, excuse me. And it's literally one of the lyrics says, no one F's me, F's you like I do. Oh. Yeah. And like how her pussy tastes so good that a man, and it would make a man cry. You guys, Miss Mo and Nance, Christy's mom, are probably right behind her right now. Just so we're clear, my parents are on the other room.
8:08So I'm like, oh, my God, this is so embarrassing. I hope none of them walk through. But, yeah, it's very sexual. So I kind of love that for her because I feel that when we look at Ariana, she's this, like, transatlantic Glinda fairy. But, like, behind the scenes, she really is still that girl. Like, do you know what I mean? She's still the Vink U Next era baddie, you know? Yeah. I feel like the past few years she has been that, like, oh, I'm Glinda. And I'm a fairy. And I just walk on water. And da-da-da-da-da. But like, no, she is side to side Ariana on that SoulCycle bike. Love that. And the first half of the album is about, she has a song called Freak.
8:49And it's not about like sexually being a freak, which is what I assume when I saw just the titles of all the songs. It's about how she cannot stand the trolls. And she's like, it's kind of giving, but daddy, I love him, a la Taylor Swift on Tortured Poets Department. She's kind of just clapping back to the haters and was like, you guys keep me fed. like keep talking so i just think it's really interesting that she has this really kind of it's kind of like a fractured relationship with the public because they're keeping her fed the reason she's wealthy and is able to tour and do all these things is because of everyone that loves her and adores her but it's also because a lot of the hate and then at the same time as she has this really fractured relationship with the public that she admits on this album she's now taking a step back from public scrutiny she's like i don't want to do it anymore.
9:36Like, I feel like a lot of her songs, even on Eternal Sunshine, talked about her tethered relationship with the public. Shannon has an interesting relationship with the truth. Yeah, she does have a complicated relationship with the public, for sure, especially, you know, recently there's been so much speculation around her health and her body. And I was actually surprised that they like announced it like this, that she is going to be stepping away, enjoy it while it lasts because she's going to go away for a while. It was just such an interesting move, I think, because she could always just go away and not announce it.
10:14But the way that they announced it almost made me think that there's some kind of like a hidden message here saying we know that she needs help and she is going to get healthy and focus on her health. and, you know, we know the discourse surrounding her. Obviously, they don't say that, but that is kind of what is implied, I feel like, no? Yeah, no, I gathered that as well. Another interesting tidbit, other than this public statement, was the fact that she's actually backing out of Sunday in the Park with George, which was going to be like a Broadway production. So she's also dropping out of that too.
10:46So she's, you know, she's saying no to a couple of projects and she's stepping away, which we got to respect her for whatever it is she's doing, whether she just needs a break, Like she's going to seek help, potentially maybe get some treatment or whatever it is. We don't know. But I just wish her well because it seems like even though her team is insisting that she performs healthily and successfully at a very high level night after night, that's, I think, left to be debated just based on the footage that I've seen. But regardless, I am wishing her well. And I'm obsessed with this album. Like Pedal is the album of the year, I think, for me.
11:24so yeah well i can't wait to listen and also yeah of course we are wishing her well and wishing her health and healing and happiness and uh yeah wishing her the best yeah okay we have 70 things on our list what should we talk about next um can't wait wait are you gonna say jack taylor yes yes okay good good because that's what i want to talk about okay you guys so in case you missed this is the funniest fucking thing also we are now blocked by Jax Taylor I've already been blocked by him on Twitter and I think Instagram on my personal but now snarkbait pod is officially blocked by him so hashtag blocked by Jax proud yeah it's a badge of honor no Craig Jax SFK Paige Lorenz Paige Lorenz like what a nightmare blunt rotation okay if you could spend time with just one of them all day who would it be oh my god craig jacks sfk page lorenz and like just you have to be in a room with them just like gabbing having a drink watching tv listen to music like you can't be doing activities i guess like sfk is probably like the least bad of all of them i don't know that's so hard what would you say but she's like so annoying obviously but like She wouldn't actually terrify me, being alone in a room with Jax.
12:53I would probably do Paige Lorenz just because I want the T and actually ask her, why are you so online? Why is it that every wedding photo online has been removed? Okay, sorry. Keep going. Jax. Okay, so Jax did, I'm sure you guys saw this, a smart water campaign, quote unquote. He posted a picture of himself in a jacuzzi or something at a spa. He also posted a video. Did you see the video? No. It was so funny. He's like at a spa. And it was clear that Lori K was like filming it. And he did the hashtag partner. It's in one heck of a hot summer, staying hydrated with at Smartwater, hashtag partner.
13:28So everyone was like, what the fuck? Smartwater is like partnering with Jax Taylor. People were DMing Smartwater and being like, why are you partnering with Jax Taylor? That's so random and like not a good look. And they were like, we have no affiliation with Jax Taylor. Like that, his post has not, that was not, you know, approved by us, affiliated with us in any way. which is so funny that smart water was like no like we don't know her um and then britney talked about this on her podcast making fun of him and obviously jacks i'm sure when he saw this was like fuck britney because he mentions her by name in a statement calling her out and then also kristin um called him out also for faking this partnership and then he released this statement and he said that he accepted what he believed was legitimate campaign opportunity through a third party influencer platform.
14:19I think it was called like video AI or something. Um, I received the offer emails, creative brief and deliverables. I trusted a platform that turned out not to be legitimate. And also it's like Lori Kay is your new girlfriend. Like, wouldn't you think that Lori Kay, who is a PR professional would know that this was not legitimate? Or do you think that Lori Kay was like, let's pretend that you're a Smartwater partner so other brands think that, you know, oh, he's getting partnerships. That's a good question. I think, me thinks that because we've all historically seen Jax be such an incredible liar, I could see him completely, even though this is her profession and this is her bread and butter, Lori's, because she's a PR person, you know, professionally, I could see him gaslighting her into thinking this were real.
15:06And then she's like, yeah, let's do a campaign. Let me film you, da-da-da-da. That's so crazy. So in this statement also, he goes, my ex-wife chose to publicly mock me and embarrass me instead of handling it privately. Brittany doesn't owe you anything. Like, but of course, so he says my ex-wife, and then he like brings her up again in this statement and saying, regardless of where we stand personally, we're still the parents of a young child and there should be a certain level of respect. Everyone knows at this point, It's like widely known that Jax is not paying child support. Like, you can't say anything about Britney or having a child together.
15:45Like, please, please. It's just so ridiculous. You know he was like seeing red, though, hearing Britney make fun of him. And he confirmed in the comment section of this post before he deleted it. Someone goes, surprised you haven't gotten your own show yet or the next Bachelor, LOL. Can you imagine Jax being the Bachelor? Stop it. After the Taylor-Frankie Paul ordeal, they're like, yeah, let's cast Jax Taylor. I mean, he goes, no thanks. I wouldn't put it past the producers. No, I know. Like, crazy. It would be, I was talking about this with trigger warning Ryan Bailey, where like, that kind of probably would be the most entertaining Bachelor of all time.
16:18But to put young women up for grabs, you know, in a room with Jax Taylor and just throw them to the wolves, a.k.a. Jax Taylor, would be irresponsible. That would be malpractice. Right. And Jax responded to this comment, said, no, thanks. I am taken heart. So confirming that he is in a relationship with Lori Kay. Oh, my God. I mean, those rumors have been ongoing for years now. Like, if you guys know Vanderpump Rules and you've been following Jax Taylor, you know that there has been sprinkles of rumors that he's been dating Lori Kay for years now. So it's actually shocking that it's now been confirmed.
16:54But I feel like, I mean, I don't know much about Lori Kay other than the fact that she, I don't know if she still does. She would represent like all the Bachelor people I remember. I don't know anything about her other than that. I've only heard horrible things about her because I used to work in the media industry. And I worked at publications that would work with some of her clients. And she was basically, she was a nightmare to work with, which is what all my coworkers who worked with her said. And then also said that she, and Rachel Lindsay said this on her podcast too, that she would always just want to be like front row to fashion show next to her client.
17:28or like in the photos with her client. Like she always wanted to be in the spotlight instead of like, you're supposed to be behind the scenes. You're the PR person. Like, why are you trying to be the center of attention? And now she kind of like, I mean, not that anyone is like, wow, like let's all pay attention to Jax Taylor and Lori Kay. But she is now kind of being the story. Yeah, this is actually probably like a really mutually beneficial relationship for one of them. He can say, oh, I got a new woman on my arm. and she's like, now I'm connected to one of my clients, which is what I've been wanting all along.
18:00I do know you mean it. It's kind of like stage mom. It's like your job is to be just pushing your client, not pushing your client alongside you. Also, like, you've been spending how long cleaning up Jax Taylor's messes? Yeah. And now you want to date him? Like, what the fuck? I mean, after everything we know, I mean, he physically abused Britney. We heard about that on last season of The Valley. emotionally abusive, abusive, calling her the body of a tree trunk, financially abusive when he purported to be paying their mortgage for that home that they bought together for months until she found out, oh, we owe back pay of like tens of thousands of thousands of dollars.
18:41Like he is emotionally, physically, and financially abusive. This man should be in prison, like genuinely. He should. He should be. And yet here Lori Kay is dating him. Right. 22:47Wayfair. Every style, every home. Wayfair. Every style, every home.
22:55okay also speaking of jack's adjacent things i want to talk about the valley finale really fast did you watch it yeah of course of course okay so i am honestly shocked that such a large chunk of the audience seems to be still supporting danny so as you know in the finale i've seen nothing but support for him on twitter it's very concerning what so So as if you guys watch The Valley, you know that Danny is a drunk. In the finale, especially at this Halloween party, he was really drunk. He went to go sleep it off. And then, of course, Jason and Janet and Lala go corner him while he's drunk trying to sleep off his drunkness.
23:39Right. People are like, they cornered him. It's a fucking reality TV show. And this is the finale. They're doing their job, first of all. Second of all, if someone is so drunk, an adult man at a party that he has to go sleep it off, he's a father. That is, you have a problem. I remember my first beer. Yeah, exactly. So they get into an altercation, Danny and Janet, Lala, and then Janet throws a plastic. She throws a drink at him and then she throws the plastic cup at his head and it like bounces off his head in a really funny way.
24:13I saw no problem with this. The only problem I had with it was that Janet was, it was like a half-assed throw. Like, I feel like she could have thrown it harder. Yeah, I actually was on Janet's side with this 100%, obviously. I was also in order. I'm like, Janet, you literally just diminished that entire argument. Let him speak for himself, which is him being belligerently drunk and making a goddamn fool of himself. Like, she totally watered down the entire point of the argument by throwing that trick at him. I get it. She was being reactive, and she probably wasn't in the best state of mind, and she just did it quickly.
24:44But I was like, damn it, Janet. But I never thought I'd be siding with Janet. But here we are. I mean, she's getting it's crazy how the tables have completely turned. And now Danny and Nia, you know what's so sad? What's so crazy is like I was really glad that Nia talked to Lala at that coffee date about her upbringing. And she's like, I was raised by my dad. My mom wasn't really in the picture because when we were with her, she would bounce around from like shelters. And we didn't really have a home to stay in. So I really desired a lot of security. and I wrote down who I wanted in a partner at the age of like 13.
25:16And I chose Dani. And I feel like she's so quite literally married to the idea of keeping up this perception because she wants to like undo whatever she went through in her past, you know, through her past trauma. She's trying to rewrite kind of what she went through. Totally. But I think that she will stick through it no matter what because she will not leave Dani genuinely. Exactly. That's exactly what it is. She feels like she is living her fairy tale, quote unquote. And she will not give it up. Yeah. No matter how much of a nightmare it actually is. Yeah. Because this man is a nightmare. I'm sorry.

25:49And I think that Janet's problem, I mean, Janet has a lot of problems. She is in the right in this situation, in my opinion. Agreed. I think that her problem is that she is so unlikable to the audience. And there is so much to be said about, like, misogyny and the fact that the Bravo audience tends to side with the man over a woman, even though the Bravo audience is primarily women. I feel like that so often happens. Right. It's internalized misogyny. I think it's just that Janet, like, she just is a charisma vacuum. Like, she just is not, she's not, like, made for reality TV, in my opinion. Like, even this, the throw felt like, it was, like, half-assed but also forced at the same time.
26:34Like, she's just not a reality TV natural. She's not, like, you know, she doesn't, like, pop on screen. She's very dry and monotone. She wears a lot of like brown and beige. Like she's just kind of like there. And so I feel like her problem always will be the Bravo audience just never liking her. Like they will never. I feel like we forget sometimes that the Bravo audience used to hate Katie Maloney and then eventually came around to her towards the end of VPR and now obviously loved her. That could happen with Janet eventually. She could have some miraculous turnaround. But as it is right now, the Bravo audience just does not like her.
27:07So I feel like anyone that Janet goes against, they will side with, even though Danny is objectively in the wrong here. Like, he has a fucking drinking problem. Yeah. I always, when I'm looking at a relationship like Danny and Nia's, you have to kind of ask yourself, if Nia were my friend, what would I be saying? Like, if this were my friend, I will be deeply, deeply concerned about her well-being and the well-being of her children. Because he clearly is, he's not well, he's emotionally abusive, and he has a drinking problem. When he drinks, he gets out of control. And like I've said this before in past episodes, we all know someone who gets like that when they drink and they become it's a switch.
27:45And it's very disconcerting because when I drink, I become just more either more hyper or less or a little lower because I'm tired. But you don't become a different person. And when people become different people and they become. That's a problem. Violent, that becomes a problem. Violent and like emotionally, the way he talks to women is disgusting. Yeah. Also, you know what I didn't like? I didn't like how Janet talked about his height. She's like, you 5 '7 loser. I'm like, Janet, stick to the facts. Yeah, it's like, stick to the facts. Like, he is making himself look bad enough. You don't have to, like, stoop this low.
28:19Yeah. I felt like she was stooping low, and it, yeah, it diminished everything. It diminished the argument. Yeah, totally. I also worry about Kristen with Luke because Luke, the way that he's been talking about how, like, I didn't know pregnant Kristen yet when I proposed. now let's lock her in a casket yeah let's have another one and uh just get it over with get pregnant Kristen over with and pregnant Kristen can die and we can put her in a casket I'm like oh my god this language is so terrible he's so scary and that is not something to be taken lightly because I think the leading cause of death of and not saying that Luke is homicidal but when a man is talking like that about his pregnant wife, the mother of his child, that is concerning to me.
29:04The leading cause of death of pregnant women is homicide. Like that is fucking terrifying. I'm terrified for Kristen. I'm terrified for Nia. I'm sorry. This is not an exaggeration. I will say that I have also seen a lot of discourse about how Jason at that Halloween party cozied up to a woman that he thought was Janet from the back and then immediately realized it wasn't. She didn't even look like Janet. So that was weird. But he immediately realized it wasn't. And he was like, oh my God, I'm so sorry. I thought you were my wife. I'm so sorry. And I've seen a lot of people say, well, look who just assaulted someone.
29:35Look who it is. What is Janet going to say now that her husband has assaulted someone? I'm like, I watched that scene. I rewound it several times. I watched it several times. I saw so many people saying online that he grabbed her ass. I did not see him grab her ass at all. Wait, people are saying, I thought that scene was so funny because it's so almost relatable. We've all had those moments. I was, Sophie, I was crying laughing because I was like, that's so funny when you think you're approaching someone that isn't the person you're intending to approach and you're scared the shit out of them.
30:02It happens. It's a mistake. That has literally happened. This is like so disgusting. It's so weird to say, but Henry and my father-in-law, because they're related, obviously have the same mannerisms. And I've seen my father in my peripheral vision and think it's Henry. And I've almost been like, hey honey and I'm like oh my god it's it's dad yeah um everyone does that happens to everyone okay so I didn't think that was a big deal but I've seen a lot of people say wow I can't believe Jason assaulted someone what is he gonna say now about Danny assaulting someone it's just like give me a break give me a break and also you could tell he was so embarrassed like yeah he was genuinely embarrassed he was like oh my god I'm so sorry yeah we've never seen Danny be embarrassed about anything oh my god four under four four under four can I just quickly say about Luke I find him to be He's so deeply disturbing.
30:48And he acts like he loves being outdoors and he misses Colorado or Indiana or wherever. Then go back. He changes it every day. But like we said. He's like the talented Mr. Ripley. He's like, oh, yeah, I'm from Minnesota. I know. At this point, he's brought up about four different states. And I've lost track. Okay. You have free will. You can leave at any point. But you love soaking up the fame and the glory and the cameras and the fans and the Bravo universe. Like, shut the hell up. He loves the spotlight. He made a fucking Instagram for his daughter. Like, please. It's so weird. He's so annoying.
31:25I know. I just, he triggers me. I don't know why. Like, men like that trigger me. Like, okay, this is the difference between Danny and Luke. Hear me out. Danny, at least when sober, I feel like he would be cool and fun. When he drinks, different Danny. Luke, I don't even want to be around, period. Drunk or sober. Drunk, sober, no. Like, he's awful. He's just a blob. I don't really know what he does, what he contributes to the relationship. He's just kind of there. And also I saw theories that were like, why is Luke begging Kristen for another child? They're like, because he wants a boy to go fishing and hunting with.
32:00Oh, I could totally see that. But also it's like the fact that he wants another child when Kristen is clearly in the throes of postpartum depression. You also have said that you hated her when she was pregnant. You want pregnant Kristen to be buried in a casket and you want her to have another one of your children right now. like what is psychopath something is psychologically wrong and i love that the therapist side-eyed him so badly in that session she was like whoa those are fighting words why would you say that yeah they were like oh my god i can't believe you just said that he was like what okay well speaking of of just relationships i think we will be remiss to not talk about emily kaiser because we did cover it on the patreon and sophie and i have been talking a lot offline about this subject.
32:45And we talked about how we didn't really want to like touch it within the first year because it's, it was a really sensitive subject and it was a tragedy. And obviously we want to take this conversation with Kara, but I think, again, this has just been such a topic on every forum, even on Emily's own Instagram. It's kind of hard to ignore. So if you guys are following this story, or if you're not, Emily Kaiser in May, 2025, she was postpartum. She had just had her second child who was like, just a few weeks or even just a couple months old. I think she was like six weeks or something. Yeah, so very young newborn.
33:20It was the first time she was leaving the house after she had given birth to her second child and she was going out to dinner with friends. Brady Kaiser, who was her husband, was watching over the newborn and over their five-year-old Trigg, who was heavily... He was three. Three, sorry. Three-year-old Trigg. Three-year-old, who was heavily put in Emily's content. She was a mommy blogger. So Trigg, her son, was all over her social media. So when Brady was, unfortunately, sports betting on his phone, Trigg had accidentally fallen into the pool and he wasn't in there for about seven minutes until Brady found him, scooped him up.
33:54He spent two minutes treading water and seven minutes laying in the pool. It's absolutely tragic. And we talked about this. If you're a patron, you know that we talked about this on the Patreon a couple weeks ago. But this has become such a loud discourse on social media that we felt like that we just needed to talk about this. And yeah, like Christy said, he had apparently been making bets. And he had been actually watching a basketball game to see if his bets would pay out when Trigg was drowning. And the fact that he was left alone, unsupervised outside by their pool without a pool fence, obviously, you know, like everyone right away was like, that is negligence.
34:42That is absolutely negligence. But it seems like it had seemed at the time that Emily had she had obviously, you know, the worst thing that could possibly happen happened. And she came back to social media a few months later and she was like, I am going to advocate for water safety now. I am going to make something of this. And yeah, as of recently, there are like so many facets to this. There's a lot of facets. I know. And we want to just talk about the top line. So I think over the last, since May, up until around May, people were very kind to her, obviously. But Emily, Brady, their newborn, or I guess he was like over one years old now, and a couple of friends.
35:23They did like a Euro trip a couple months ago. And one of Emily's girlfriends. If this was over, it was during the anniversary of Trigg's death, by the way. Which I think a lot of other, a lot of people have said that that's also something that's a little bit weird about this. Is that they were on vacation during this. They were on vacation. Emily in her videos claimed that she said it was very hard to be at home during this time because it was Mother's Day and then it was Jake's birthday. Oh, excuse me, the anniversary of Jake's passing. So she decided to go on this out-of-country vacation with friends.
35:50And unfortunately, one of her friends videoed them all being on a boat. And Brady was seen in this photo, this video, sitting on his phone scrolling with Teddy, their one-year-old-ish son, on Brady's lap. and Brady had a beer in his hand scrolling on his phone and Teddy was not wearing a life vest. And people were reasonably astonished and disturbed. And also, he was wearing like white, which is not a water safety. Like she has talked about, you know, you need to make sure your kids are wearing bright colors when they're around water so you can see them in the water. No, it's all about aesthetics.
36:29And so people are like, you haven't learned anything. You haven't learned your lesson. You haven't. And that's not what this is about. It's not about like, let's teach her. She needs to learn her lesson. It's more about you said that you were a water safety advocate and there was negligence that led to the death of your firstborn. Yeah, it was it was negligence. It was there wasn't preventable. He was he was apparently outside by himself, unsupervised all the time. And now it it looks like you're not still not taking it seriously. Yeah. And it's just absolutely bizarre. And people that was like a flip switch for people.
37:03and then also the fact that she went on Jay Shetty's podcast and she said things along the lines of you know it could have happened to me so I had to forgive Brady and it's like so you're admitting that you also left Trigg unsupervised outside like and also the fact that there was something else she said on Jay Shetty's podcast that was kind of like a red flag where she said I like when I found out that this happened I immediately was like I want my old life back and then was like and I want Trigg to have his life back like it seems like it was like just about her. I don't know. That was like a red flag.
37:35And then she announced her pregnancy. Right after this Jay Shetty podcast, we were like, oh, she was trying to like soften the blow because she knew people would be like, whoa, whoa, whoa. You guys are are pregnant again so soon. And we Sylvia and I consume enough pop culture to know that this Jay Shetty podcast feature was definitely planned and it was a PR move before she announced her pregnancy shortly thereafter. Like, it had to have been. There's no coincidence there. And I think where people have some pauses, well, one, you're a hypocrite because you're donning your child in a white bathing suit while at the same time he's not wearing a life vest on open water in a different country.
38:18And you also were pregnant. Which is against the law, by the way. Like, it is the law for an infant. The boat is moving in this video. You can see that it's moving. Right. And it's just, it's disturbing. And I think that when you go on her Instagram now, every photo underneath it has a community note that Emily Kaiser and her husband, Brady, were negligent because they caused the death of their son, Trigg. And people are just very, feel icky about it because they're like, she has more followers than prior to Trigg's passing. Obviously, like Sophie and I never followed her prior to the tragedy.
38:51Now, a lot of people are more aware of her. So she is garnering more money. and people take issue with that. I'm not saying I take issue with that. No, people feel like, because she has also brought up Turing's name when she does like a factor ad. She's like, it has been a really hard time since the death of my son. And that's why I love factor ads. And people are like, you are profiting off of the death of your son. And it almost feels like, she came back to social media and she said that, you know, this is what makes me happy. This is my outlet. And people are like, totally. Like, you have to go back to work.
39:23And if this makes you happy during this really terrible time. Like, please, by all means. But I think now that this has happened with Teddy, the pregnancy announcement, it's like you got pregnant again by this man who was so negligent that he, you couldn't even leave your kids alone with him for 10 minutes, for 10 minutes. It was because it was the first time she had left him alone. Yeah, and you're pregnant again. And so people are like, wait, wait, wait. So all of these, I think it's all of these things in combination have made the internet kind of turn a little bit. And now when you watch her content from the past year, you're like, wait, this is all kind of weird.
40:03Like, why are you doing get ready with me is like, I know that everyone grieves differently. And I, you know, I pray to God that no one listening to this, that neither of us will ever experience what she has experienced. It's obviously so, so, so awful. But it is kind of like just all of these things combined. It's kind of crazy behavior. And people are, I think, right to call that out because they feel like Trigg did not get justice. Right. And kind of he died in vain because it doesn't seem like his parents learned anything. No one was held accountable for his death. We talk about the police report on Patreon and how disturbing it is.
40:43The 50 page police report. And the fact that they recommended criminal charges for Brady Kaiser of child negligence and child endangerment. And then he was never charged. No one was ever held accountable for Trigg's death. I think people online are like, wait, you made us fall in love with your son, which, again, is like a weird parasocial thing that so many of her followers felt so close to Trigg. But she posted him every second. So they were like, we cared about your son because you posted on social media. Now you profit off of his death and no one is held accountable. And now it's almost like he died in vain because you're doing the same thing with Teddy and not taking water safety seriously.
41:19Yes, 100 percent to all that. And I think that another thing that's very troubling and what we would it would be dumb not to bring up is if this were a black family, that man would be put in jail. If a husband was negligent and the kid died from being in the pool under his watch, he would be put in jail. But because Brady and Emily are white, attractive, wealthy, police walked into a home that was lovely. lovely. It's big. It's well decorated. And honestly, it kind of obviously this is totally different scenarios, but both scenarios, a child died with JonBenet Ramsey. And I studied that case backwards and forwards, have read many books, all the things about that case.
41:54The crazy thing about JonBenet Ramsey's case was the reason the police investigation was so botched to begin with, there were many reasons, but they didn't question the parents in the way that they should have because they walk into this mansion in Boulder. It's beautiful. Jon Ramsey is one of the most like affluent businessmen in the city, you're not going to question someone that you feel is quote unquote above you. Right. And it's like almost like they felt just because they were wealthy, I think they were given a lot more liberties and the benefit of the doubt than any other family would have been granted.
42:23And I think that's also where people are very troubled by this because it was under the police record. I recommend criminal charges for Brady, but ultimately nothing was done. So. Yeah. Yeah. And obviously this is just a really, really, really tragic story in general. And it's hard to know what to say and what not to say when we talk about this, because, again, it's just it's a fucking tragedy. And all that matters is that and I think that most people who are criticizing Emily and Brady online right now would say that Trigg never got justice. And again, if you read the police report, there are many disturbing details about it, about how Brady lied to the police, about how he was placing bets.
43:04He um, took out, cashed out his bet at the hospital. Um, and also the timeline at which he said he was watching Trigg when he wasn't the video footage showed otherwise. He was lying to police. He was literally lying to them. And now Emily is having another child with him and, and letting him hold her current child without a life jacket on a moving boat while drinking a beer. It's just, it's, there's no excuse for it. And again, I, I feel like we have had nothing but sympathy for Emily Kaiser. Even you posted a TikTok a couple of weeks ago saying everyone stop bullying Emily Kaiser. Like you should just be happy for her that she's having a child.
43:41And I even I texted you and I was like, you know what? I think there are some red flags here. It's kind of crazy that she's having a child with him again. After what happened, it's kind of crazy that no one was held accountable. She is on, you know, TikTok doing get ready with me is every day. She did some ad where she's dancing on her bed and she has gained all of these followers since his death. And it just it's it's a little bit jarring to watch. Yeah. But again, I think it's just because, you know, it just feels like there was there was not justice for Trigg. And if this was a babysitter or if this was a black family or a lower income household, someone would be in jail.
44:17100 percent. And one more thing on this, what I will say is I think I'll be remiss to not bring up to that. When Sophie and I did our patron episode a couple of weeks ago, we talked about how drowning is like a leading cause of death for like children between the ages. Yeah, for children one through four. Yeah, one through four. So we're not saying... The leading cause of death. Right. So I want to give a little bit of like, not that Brady necessarily deserves a lot of grace, but like these things can happen. So it's not like Brady is the only parent that was negligent. And number two, doesn't take away from the negligence he had, but I just want to call that out.
44:51And then number two, I genuinely actually worry about Emily Kaiser's mental health right now because when I went on her TikTok yesterday, she hasn't posted in a week, obviously, because she's like reading the room and realizing that. She's getting tons of backlash. She acknowledged, when we recorded Patreon, it was before she released a statement saying, he only didn't have a life jacket on for a few moments. It seemed like a here damn type of statement. And people are like, oh, come on. But I didn't think she would even acknowledge it. I think that she thought it would just go away, but it clearly wasn't.
45:18So she posted the statement and she has been off social media. And I think she should be off social media. I think she needs to step away. I think she needs to step away from the spotlight. And I think also what you say about drowning being the leading cause of death for children's one through four. Yes, absolutely. And that's why everyone says, get a pool fence. And everyone told Emily to get a pool fence. And she didn't. And obviously, she learned her lesson in the worst way imaginable. The worst case scenario happened. So you would think that she would just be better moving forward. But I think that Emily's saying on the Jay Shetty podcast that this could happen to anyone.
45:53A lot of parents listening to that were probably like, no, this actually wouldn't happen to us. Because we would have a pool fence and we would make sure that a three-year-old child is not outside in the backyard near a 50 ,000-gallon body of water by himself. Yeah. It's unfathomable. I'm getting like worked up. I'm sorry. No, it's okay. It's actually the more that I think about it, the more pissed off I am. And I had nothing but sympathy. No, you did 100%. And I think that two things can exist at once. we can have sympathy for this family knowing that they suffered the most unimaginable tragedy but at the same time knowing that this is 100 % preventable and you seem to be doing more mistakes afterwards when you would think that you would be so incredibly cautious.
46:35So I think it's like we just have to allow two things to exist and unfortunately for Emily, like because Trigg was so heavily spotlit in all of her content and she is such a public figure, she's kind of the face now for like kids that die from drowning. Well, it's like she came back to social media saying that she would become a water safety advocate. Right. And she hasn't. She's posted a couple times about water safety. She's clearly not following it herself. And so, again, it's like, what was this all for then? Like, what was this all? You're coming back to social media just to post your day in my life again.
47:12You're not doing anything for Trigg. You're not honoring his memory. And, again, it's like I feel so weird talking about it. It's such a weird thing to talk about. and I don't like talking about it, honestly, because it makes me upset. So I don't like talking about it. I'm curious what you guys think. Am I being too harsh? I don't know, because I do have so much sympathy for her. And I'm angry on behalf of Trigg. His death was completely preventable. And I think that maybe they're like, lightning won't strike twice. And so maybe they think, you know, nothing could ever happen to Teddy. You are on a moving boat with a one-year-old.
47:48It takes one speed bump, one wave, an adult, everyone falling out of the boat, maybe an adult hits their head and your baby isn't wearing a life jacket. I completely understand why people are fucking furious with her. And again, two things can exist at once, being furious and feeling horrible for her. And I, yeah, I just, I hate talking about this. No, and we just did a Naya Rivera episode on Patreon and Naya unfortunately died without wearing a life jacket And she's a very strong swimmer, right? And fortunately, she saved her son's life because, one— He was wearing a life jacket. Yeah. She was wearing a life jacket.
48:26And, two, she was able to hoist him back up onto the boat before she drowned. Like, life jackets are very important. And it just came to the top of mind because I was like, oh, my God. Her, like, five-year-old or whatever was saved, fortunately. Yeah. Just, yeah, I'm curious what you guys think. I know that this is like such a sensitive topic that is really difficult to talk about. But I feel like there's been such discourse about this that we felt like we had to. We can't ignore it. Discuss. We can't ignore it. But yeah, curious what you guys think. Again, like it's such a hard thing to talk about.
48:59So I hope that we handle this, you know, as delicately as possible. Just know that it all comes down to I feel like people on the Internet wanting justice for Trigg. His life was taken from him and it was completely preventable. And he doesn't have a voice. So like we, you know, he doesn't have a voice anymore. And I think that just people feel very strongly about this for obvious reasons. Okay, let's move on to something that also is kind of like a, this is a dark, dark energy Tuesday. I want to quickly talk about the Jared Leto accusations. Obviously, we have done a whole episode on how it has been an open secret in Hollywood that Jared Leto is a predator.
49:41and people have known this for a long time. It's been years and years, years, decades of creepy behavior from this fucking cult leader, method actor, who would send his colleagues used condoms when he was playing the Joker. But yeah, totally normal behavior. So it's been an open secret for years. And also everything he stars in Bomb. So why do people keep casting him? I don't know. But finally, it seems like the, it's finally gaining traction because the BBC just released a documentary slash accompanying article about his sexual misconduct with 10 accusers putting their faces in it. And it is very disturbing.
50:25One of the women says she was sexually and trigger warning, obviously, for sexual assault. One of the women says she was sexually assaulted in a motel bathroom by Jared Leto when she was 17. A third describes how she had underage sex with the star when she was 17, which would be classified as statutory rape. He shrugged off a conversation about the age of consent being 18. Another woman describes being groomed by Leto, saying he abused the celebrity status by making repeated sexually explicit phone calls to her when she was 16. She was sent an NDA, which she did not sign. Another woman says when she was 14, he instructed a security guard to take her backstage at a music festival after having made a lewd comment about her chest.
51:05This is what she looks like, by the way. I attached a photo of her. She had braces. He basically said that she has an amazing rack and signed her boobs when she was only 14. Just a ton of really, really, really disturbing accusations against Jared Leto. And I believe every single one of them. This has been known for years that he's a fucking creep. Yeah, it's unfortunate that men like this in the industry, they are able to get away with it for as long as they do because they're rich and powerful and girls fawn over them. and it reminds me of Nick Carter who's still doing show after show at the Sphere even though he is literally equally as bad as Jared Leto and no one's even blinking an eye or batting an eye.
51:46Same with obviously Harvey Weinstein though he's been, you know, put to prison. But this is just unfortunately just men abusing their power and using it for the darkest of evils, the most sinister things. It's like, how dare you? This girl, I'm looking at this picture that you attached at 14. That's a freshman in high school, maybe even eighth grade if you're like old for your grade. This is disgusting. Yeah. No, she's she's literally she has braces. That is absolutely disgusting. The amount of were teenagers and who said they now are sitting down with the BBC as full grown women. And they say that this obviously altered the trajectory of their lives.
52:23It is so, so disturbing. Just absolutely just. And he obviously denied it. He used the word categorically because, you know, when someone says these accusations are categorically false, you know that they're guilty. When they use the word categorically, you're guilty. So you're telling me that all these women decades later are just making it up. They just woke up and said, today, I'm just going to accuse Jared Leto of sexually assaulting me when I was 14. Today, I'm going to put my face and name in a BBC documentary. Yeah. Making up a lot. No, obviously not. And again, this has been such an open secret for so long.
53:01Listen to our Jared Leto deep dive if you haven't already. Like, he is a fucking creep. Heavy trigger warning. But this is honestly, like, doesn't even surprise me. Not even like, I'm like, oh, just another one, you know? It's just so crazy to me that he has continued to get so many roles in Hollywood, despite this being an open secret in Hollywood, and despite the fact that he, everything he's in bombs. He's box office poison. Yeah, except the We Crash, which, God, I can't believe I watched it, but it was good. That was good. But that was, you know. You know, we're not even going to count that.
53:35Listen. We're not even going to count that. He's been like Tron, Legacy, and like Masters of the Universe, and all of these recent movies that have totally bombed. Oh, Morbius. So many box office bombs. I hope that this is what finally, you know, makes him go away. I hope he finally faces consequences. He kind of gives me Marilyn Manson vibes. Yeah, there's something deeply, deeply nefarious about him. Yeah. I've been a diehard TaskRabbit stan long before they were a sponsor. I cannot remember the last time I moved without enlisting a tasker, whether it was for assembling furniture, mounting a TV, hanging artwork.
54:11The list goes on. And it's not just during a move when your to-do list can feel like it's 10 pages long. The thing about Facebook, you might find more than what you're looking for. From a browse to a bike ride, this summer, find more on Facebook. Amazon Health AI presents Painful Thoughts. Learn more at drinkag1.com. Okay, well, speaking of dark energy, let's move on to our dark energy objects of the week.
56:53Okay, mine is LinkedIn. I think people on LinkedIn that post their accomplishments, like, today, I am happy to announce that I hit my quota for the year. It has taken a painstaking amount of effort, time, and I want to thank my mentors. At blah, at blah. It's like such a dick measuring contest, such a dick sucking contest. I can't stand it. There's something so earnest about it, though. No, it's not. I'm almost like, wow, like you don't care about being embarrassing. Like I always respect it because I feel like it's so embarrassing. But it's like, wow, you're really putting yourself out there.
57:28No, wait, that's a really funny way to put it. Like, well, like, OK, it's like you're unapologetically yourself. You're unapologetically embarrassing. Yeah. OK, I can see that. Maybe that's my life. Maybe we'll I'm going to reframe. OK, that's a light energy. Do you ever get so bored and you've scrolled through every social media app that you open LinkedIn? Because I have. Oh, yeah. No, I love scrolling. I love to see what my old coworkers are up to. And I love to sometimes, like, sometimes I'll kind of be, like, a troll to the people that I'm friends with. Like, if one of my best friends posts on LinkedIn, I'm like, way to go, Ange.
58:00Like, heart. Way to go. Like, clap emoji. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Clap reaction. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Congratulations. So deserved. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. So I have so many dark energy objects this week. I know that this is one of our topics that we didn't get to, but the Nantucket no influencer sign. I wrote about this in our sub stack that goes out every Friday. And let me just, let me just like put it to you very concisely. This is blown completely out of proportion. The sign was clearly a joke. There's no way to know if a customer is an influencer just by looking at them. You're not a protected class.
58:36You know, you can't just walk in like it's not like if a store said no Asians and it's like wow like Chris you walk into a store you're like I'm Asian like back obviously back up and they're like get out like no they're not gonna know if you're a fucking influencer or not um Paige blowing this completely out of proportion and taking such offense to this is simply her projecting her own insecurities because this is clearly a joke brush it off who cares and then white thin beautiful rich privileged women who never speak about anything politically, mind you, except in Paige Lorenzo's case, Charlie Kirk.
59:09In so few words, equating this to the segregated South slash civil rights movement, they're acting like it's Jim Crow, is deeply and objectively insane. No, it's... I heard, I don't know if this is true, but I heard that the Toast Girls were also comparing it to, like, Jim Crow. I don't know if that's true. Are you fucking kidding? You are not oppressed. You are not a protected class. Like, this is fucking insane. I cannot believe this has become what it's become. Like, it was clearly just a funny sign. It was a joke. Like, who cares? And it's so funny also because Paige was, like, riding high after her stunning wedding, after being featured in Vogue.
59:45And now, like, all anyone is talking about is this and the fact that all she has ever spoken about politically. She's acting like this is some feminist statement. And in case you missed it, guys, basically this Nantucket store put up a sign that said no influencers. And Paige was like, you are anti-women. I'm going to make a feminist statement. You have never talked about feminism. You've never talked about politics other than Charlie Kirk's death. Right. So please. And now that's all anyone is talking about. It completely overshadowed her gorgeous wedding. She was riding high. It's just, I cannot believe that this is the hill that she wanted to die.
1:00:16And she even said that she was like, I'm dying on this hill. It's like, why? This is so stupid. How does this impact you at all? It's so fucking stupid, you guys. So that is one of my DEOs this week. Another DEO is my Instagram post escaping containment and finding old men with foot fetishes. Did I tell you this? Oh, I did tell you this. How I posted a picture of just me and my husband. Cute picture, I thought. Apparently, just because my feet happened to be in the picture.
1:00:48She's garnered the attention of foot fetish men hashtag foot fetish I am now at 457 saves on Instagram and I started noticing that there were like a lot of saves and I was like that's weird it's just a picture of me and Henry it's not like I'm like even like wearing a cute outfit or anything like I'm wearing sweats 457 saves and now comments from men saying toes look amazing bit of a random compliment but wow you have beautiful feet dms from people asking for foot photos um like I said at least I have that going for me like i said i sophie's like dude people are reaching out to me like saying that they'll pay i'm like ask that like put it up put bring up the price yeah i was like 250 someone's like a 25 starbucks gift card i'm like please don't even i don't get out of bed for less than 50 no it would definitely have to be more than that but obviously 250 minimum yeah 250 minimum so christy's been very supportive of maybe my budding um yeah i'm like your manager i'm like Come on.
1:01:47Come on now. Respond and ask for 250. But like, it's just so funny how like that one photo escaped containment. Like it's so weird. And it's also my one photo because I can see the demographics of like who interacts with my content. It's 99 % women, which is how I like it. This photo obviously was all old men. Which is how I like it. Which is how I like it. Henry was like, he did not think it was funny. He was like, delete the picture. I'm like, it's cute. It's a cute picture. I'm sorry. It's cute. No, no, it's like, like I said, monetize off of it. Yeah. Like, hey. And then my last DEO, which I also mentioned in our sub stack this week or last week, is I've been watching Lucky on Apple TV with Anya Taylor-Joy and Drew Starkey.
1:02:31I noticed he was in it. I am solely watching it for Drew Starkey. Yeah. You guys know I love him. Solely watching it for Drew Starkey. He's barely in it. It's also just a bad show. It's not good. But the moments where Drew Starkey is in it, love. He's barely in it. It was like false advertisement. I feel like he was like top build. And he's in it for like maybe two minutes. So save yourself. Yeah. Thank you for letting me know because I was actually going to start. But did you see that Outer Banks is starting in like a couple weeks? And Chase Stokes is on fire. Yeah, August 20th, I think. Yeah.
1:03:00Yeah. He keeps like posting these weird selfies with like his tongue sticking out. He is so, I can't with him, you guys. I know. Oh, he's so, his fucking, his fucking Instagram selfies where his lip filler is just popping. Full display. Full display. Okay. Let's move on to LEOs. My LEO is Emma Roberts' wedding. Like, we are being fed. I'm obsessed. Everyone's like, what's up with the dress? I'm like, dude, she wants to be a real life doll. She wants to be vintage. She wants to look antique. It's inspired. It's very aligned with who she is. And if you guys have watched her Architectural Digest tour, which her home is my dream home.
1:03:36But by the way, I noticed she sold it. And I was like, how could you sell that masterpiece? I don't think I've seen her house tour. Oh my God, I'm obsessed with it. Do you want the house tour?
1:03:48It's designed by Pearson Ward. And if you have seen her house, she has a whole shelf full of creepy dolls. Like she wants to be a real life doll. Yeah, she said that she wants to look like, so she did custom Monique Lillier for her dress. And she said she wanted to look like a ghost. So they custom dyed it to be basically her skin color because she wanted to look like a ghost. Yeah, it was so intentional, everything about it. And I know, listen, I know she has like really problematic shit. I just. Evan Peters. Yes. Her aesthetic is just, I love it. I've heard she's a huge see you next Tuesday.
1:04:23Like my friend once saw her. Yeah, my friend once saw her at a party and they were taking photos and Emma Roberts thought that my friend was taking her photo. So she tapped her friend and goes, go over there. So Emma Roberts' friend approached my friend and was like, show me your phone to delete those photos of Emma. And she was like totally on coke, like going in and out of the bathroom. And then she went up to my friend and was like, when she realized that they weren't taking photos of her, she was like trying to be nice to her afterwards. It was when she was filming American Horror Story Coven back in like 2016.
1:04:53Oh, so a while ago, yeah. Yeah, in her like 20s. But my friend was like, she's such a fucking bitch. Yeah, I have not heard great things about her. And obviously the Evan Peters of it all with the, you know, her transphobic comments. Oh, I didn't even know she had transphobic comments. Yeah, she's not a good person, but I just love her aesthetic. The wedding is gorgeous. The wedding is gorgeous. I think the fact that she was like, I want to look, because I remember being like, oh, she looks like a ghost or a porcelain doll. She looks kind of washed out with her hair and her skin and the dress color, but that's what she wanted.
1:05:24Yeah. So it's very intentional, like you said. I think she looked beautiful. I can have my own opinions about her as a person, but objectively beautiful wedding. Yeah. Also, oh my God. Okay, so my LEO was seeing The Odyssey. I forgot to, speaking of, this circles back to Emma Roberts, actually. Hmm. So before we saw The Odyssey, it's funny, my friend slept over Saturday night because we had a Sunday 10 a.m. movie. So we were like, let's watch Troy. And so Troy is kind of like, it's not the official prequel of The Odyssey, but it basically ends with the Trojan horse, which is where The Odyssey picks up.
1:06:01So it's good to watch beforehand. Everyone was saying, watch Troy. So glad I did. I was like, oh my God, who is this little boy who's basically Brad Pitt's mentee in the movie? It's Garrett Hedlund. I was like, oh my God, this movie is from 2004. Garrett Hedlund was like 17 or 18, maybe in this movie, in Troy. He looks so young. And that's obviously Emma Roberts' baby daddy. And in my favorite movie, Country Strong. Country Strong. And also your other favorite movie, Georgia Rule. Yeah. Garrett Hedlund is honestly like an Oscar-worthy actor. He's been, like, he deserves, like, the same credits as Timothy and Jacob, in my opinion.
1:06:44Wow. Those are some strong words. He's just like, he's cute, but he's kind of like an alcoholic, I think, which isn't great. Oh. He got a DUI, I think. I know nothing about Garrett Hedlund. Yeah. But I did think it was funny. I was like, wait, who is this little pretty boy? Because he looks so young. He looks like almost like a little like girl, like he looks so young and cute. Yeah. And but yeah, I highly recommend watching Troy and then seeing the Odyssey. And also, oh, my God. OK, so Brad Pitt when I had never seen Troy, but like I remember I was like 12 when it came out and I remember it was like the Brad Pitt being hot movie, you know, like he plays Achilles.
1:07:21He plays this warrior. Eric Banna underrated eric banna is so fucking hot in that movie and there are gifs that have been like going viral on twitter of him in troy shirtless oh i do like i'm sorry he's he's so underrated orlando bloom is in it also um eric banna is in a lot of things did you watch dirty john he's in the yes okay yes he's did you know the dirty john i know the girl tara oh my god that's crazy yeah Yeah, she lives in Newport. Oh, my God. That's insane. Yeah, she really like... But that's a great, great podcast, great show. And he's also in that. But Eric Bana, so underrated. He's also in The Other Bowling Girl, one of my other favorite movies.
1:08:05Oh, of course, of course. Are you going to see The Odyssey?
1:08:10It was so good, you would hate it. No, I already know I wouldn't like it. Everyone's talking about it. It's so good. I'm like, should I be into it? Like, my coworker had to leave early on Friday because he's like, I'm seeing The Odyssey. my best friend saw it on a date like everyone's going out and seeing it you guys it's so good like go see it and like I'm telling you if you are worried about it being you know it's a really long it's like three hours if you're worried about being slow it does not feel slow at all or or confusing they dumped it down for us there's Tom Holland saying dad it's me your son like they really dumbed down the dialogue they're talking that's kind of like criticism that the movie has gotten is that they talk like normal, you know, Americans, you and me talk in 2026, which is obviously not true to that time period at all.
1:08:59But that's kind of why I loved it. I could understand everything they were saying. Hey, Queen! Also, Robert Pattinson is really good in it. Sorry, I just had to say that. He's amazing in it. Yes, I actually really like him. He just seems like a normal celebrity. Like, he doesn't like the fame. He doesn't like the attention. He's not thirsty. He's like, I'm just here for the craft, man, to pick up a paycheck. I completely, completely agree. Yeah, 100%. Yeah. And even though he was part of the Twilight, the Twihard fandom, it's like, listen, he doesn't want all that. He just wants to be a regular guy.
1:09:29Yeah. And sit at home and hang out with Suki Waterhouse. Suki and their child. Yeah. But he is like a standout for me. He's just so good. And Matt Damon is amazing. Matt Damon, I love him. Charlize Theron, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway. It's obviously Tom Holland, a stacked cast. But I highly recommend it. And again, if you think that you're too dumb for it, like I did, don't worry. They dumb it down. No. They really do. Because I was too dumb for Interstellar, Memento, and Inception, which are all, and Tenet, which are all Christopher Nolan movies. Yeah. Anything that's more than like an hour and a half long, my brain starts to like, like I'm like AI.
1:10:12Like, I need to be rebooted because I just can't do it. You know? And I'm the most ADHD person ever. Like, I'm very ADHD, you guys. And I was completely engrossed and engaged with the movie the entire time, which is very unheard of for me with a three-hour-long movie. Like, there was that one moment where I was like, I wonder what's going on on my phone. Right. No, we were popping off. The Snarkbait channel was popping off. So, sorry about that. Hey. Just got out of the 10 a.m. Odyssey screening in New Jersey. Yeah, cute. Okay, tomorrow on Patreon, what are we talking about? Oh, the disappearance.
1:10:52Yes, tomorrow on Patreon, we're talking about the mysterious disappearance of Kim Moreau, a young woman who went missing in the late 80s. She was with a bunch of her friends, and they refused to talk to her family, and it's now been over four decades, and there is still no trace of this young woman. super sad but we cover that tomorrow on patreon and then thursday we have a housewife a beverly hills housewife who um is the mother of two very famous girlies so you guys can guess yeah so uh that's our thursday deep dive like christy said tomorrow is a true crime patreon episode i actually had never heard of this case so christy did a really good job of walking us through it and that link is in our show notes if you want to get an additional episode every week and then also add free Tuesday, Thursday episodes over there.
1:11:47And then also our sub stack, which I mentioned a couple of times this episode, is every Friday and that link is in our show notes as well. Yeah, we love you guys so much. Thanks for joining us for another DET and we'll see you on the next one. Bye. Bye.

That's what Wayfair is for. Because even though renting makes me less enthusiastic about spending money on furniture and home decor, I still want my apartment to feel chic and elevated, duh. What if I told you you only have 12 hours to legally have sex? To finding true love. Or just like a good guy. From the director of Easy A and anyone but you. This whole thing is nuts. There's nothing traditional about this line. On August 7th, the clock starts on the summer's biggest rom-com.
1:16:34I'm Owen. Allie. What about me and me? Monica Barbaro. Callum Turner. I've been told I'm a 7th. By who? Your mom? No. She thinks I'm a 10th. One Night Only. Rated R. Only in theaters August 7th. Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here for Mint Mobile. Now, I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited premium wireless for$15 a month is back. So I thought it would be fun if we made$15 bills. But it turns out that's very illegal. So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try at mintmobile.com slash switch. Upfront payment of$45 for three months,$90 for six months, or$180 for 12-month plan required.
