In short

Dark Energy Tuesday discusses Justin Bieber’s new album Swag, Alex Cooper’s “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” performance at a Cubs game, Brock cheating on Scheana (Vanderpump Rules) as revealed in Scheana’s memoir, Love Island USA finale reactions (Ace/Shelly exit, final four dynamics), Jeff Bezos allegedly buying Vogue as a wedding gift for Lauren Sanchez, and Paige DeSorbo/Joe D’Amelio Italy sightings. Hosts also debate “Daddy Gang” fans of Alex Cooper and BuzzFeed’s offensive memes.

Guest backgrounds

No podcast guests appear in the transcript; it’s hosted by Christy and Sophie (with recurring references to “Rebrand” cover art and their Patreon community).

Key claims

Bieber’s Swag is “very good,” Hailey Bieber’s deleted “losers” billboard post was criticized, and Bieber may have released Swag to generate cash amid a $31.5M settlement with Scooter Braun. Alex Cooper’s Cubs anthem was “cringe” and mocked a tradition, prompting boos. Brock cheated while Scheana was pregnant, using burner/work phones; Scheana kept it private, possibly to protect Brock’s image and curate her life. Love Island viewers are upset about Ace/Shelly leaving despite similar relationship timelines. Bezos buying Vogue is framed as dystopian billionaire influence. Paige and Joe are portrayed as together since the breakup, with curated privacy.

Notable examples

Bieber using paparazzi clips in album demos; Alex Cooper’s “one two three” mocking delivery; Scheana’s memoir excerpt about cheating during Summer Moon pregnancy; Love Island family visit emotions and BuzzFeed’s “knuckle sandwich” and “juice box” (anti-Jewish) meme controversy.

1:12And Sophie, kick us off. We're back. And also, hello, Rebrand. You might notice that we have new cover art. We hope you like it. So exciting. It has our faces on it. So exciting. Yeah, it has our faces on it. The money makers. but today we are back with DT. I feel like it's been forever, but we have such a fun episode. We're talking about Justin Bieber's new album, Swag, Alex Cooper's rendition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame, extremely cringe, Brock cheating on Sheena, Love Island USA finale, Jeff Bezos buying Vogue as a wedding gift for Lauren Sanchez, allegedly, Paige DeSorbo and Joe D 'Amelio being spotted together in Italy and then our dark energy objects and light energy objects of the week.

2:02Are we ready? Let's do it. Let's do it.

2:17Hey, Sophie, welcome back to another dark energy Tuesday. Guys, it feels like it's been forever. since I've recorded with you. How have you been? We are so back. We are fucking back. I'm excited to be back. I missed you. I missed everyone. Vacation was nice, but it's back to real life and I feel refreshed and I'm ready for it. I do have a little bit of like a little cough. I feel like every time I come home for vacation, just from like traveling and stuff, I always am like a little bit sick. So that's why my voice is like a little extra annoying today. But you're gonna have to deal with it, you guys.

2:56Sorry. Sorry. Christy, how have you been? Okay, I'm gonna be so fucking for real. Right now. I was talking to my therapist. And I was like, I don't know, like something in my life. I just have been struggling a little bit. I'm gonna have an air of transparency with the listeners. I've just been like very stressed. And I would love some tips and tricks on how people handle stress. And I think it's gotten to the point where I'm so stressed, it's become like my equilibrium. And I don't know how to get down from it. So I'm going to up my therapy sessions because I'm just like not well as of late. And I'm traveling the last two weeks of July.

3:32So I think that will help. But it's been a little bit of a rough go. And it's not even this. It's not even the show. And I don't know what it is. It's like I think a culmination of just life things that are stressing me out. And I have a hard time just going back to normal. So I just don't know how to help that. So any tips and tricks, supplements you guys take, exercises you guys do. I get people say meditation works, but like genuinely like practical things that someone who has a really racing brain can implement easily. I'm open to ideas. Feel free to comment on Spotify or on our Instagram post at snarkbaitpod when Sophie does the hilarious carousels for every DET.

4:08I know that I said this to you when we talked the other day, but like you have to take vacate. Like you have to, even if it's not going somewhere, just taking time off from work and giving yourself permission to have a few days a week of doing nothing and turning off your brain it really does make you it it helps a lot like I know it sounds so cliche but like I was ready I was feeling ready to get back to my routine instead of burnt out like I was before but I think everyone everyone deals with burnout in this in this day and age in this economy, we're all constantly just, what's the word? We're just burning the candle, burning the candle at both ends or whatever the saying is.

4:50Um, I feel like that's, that's a lot of people. So just remember to take care of yourself, take time off. Like you don't have to go to fricking Mallorca or whatever. Just like take some days off and turn your brain off like seriously. And then you'll be like, we're fresh and ready to go back to your routine. yeah yeah I'll be in um Houston in a couple weeks like a lot of my San Francisco girlfriends are gonna meet like up there because my friend lives there and she owns a couple restaurants you guys got to check it out it's called Mitchie's Chino Bariqua it's like a Chinese Puerto Rican fusion if you guys are ever in Houston but she has three locations now she's totally franchising Dallas and then two locations in Houston she's a boss lady but we're gonna meet her there and then I'm gonna be going to Nashville with some of the pod collective and then Shannon I'm from Floodley Ford and I are going to see Ashley Simpson in Vegas.

5:37So these are the things that I think are going to keep me going. Yay. I love that for you. Oh, also I need to give a shout out to a baby snark named Jennifer who recognized me at JFK. I forgot to mention this. So I want to give a shout out to Jennifer. It's funny because I was waiting outside of the Delta Lounge for Henry because I can't get into the Delta Lounge without my husband. I don't have the qualifications. So I had to wait for him. He was, we were going to the airport separately because he had to come from work. And then Jennifer, a baby Stark was also standing outside of the Delta lunch, but she was waiting for her friend who couldn't get in without her.

6:16Oh, how funny. So she was like, Sophie, like I'm a baby Stark. And I was so excited. She was on my flight to Lisbon, which was so crazy. Um, she was such a sweetheart. It was my first time like meeting besides when I've met baby snarks where they know about the podcast through like my friends or like my sibling or whoever it is. Like she was like a fully like just in the wild, in the wild. And that was really exciting. So shout out Jennifer. She was such a sweetheart. It like just made my, it made my trip. That was the best part of the trip. And we hadn't even left yet. No, I love that. It really sets the tone and it's cool to see our reach.

6:54I think I talked about this in the past, but I met a baby snark at the dermatologist and her and I actually hung out last weekend and we went out like day drinking and I met all of her friends and this baby snark community, we're bringing people together, strangers together as friends. And that is a beautiful thing. I love it. Well, speaking of beautiful things, I think there are so many things we need to talk about. Like in our notes, we've never seen so many bullet points. So I want to just dive right in. I just want to quickly touch on Justin Bieber's new album Swag that released this past Friday on July 11th.

7:30And dare I say, it's actually very good. I saw a lot of critics saying it wasn't like some people were saying it wasn't that good, but I'm like, I'm loving it. Have you listened? I've yes, I've been really, really, really enjoying it. And I am not a longtime believer like you are. So I kind of went in with very low expectations. And I have been really enjoying it. I actually reposted a tweet that was like, Justin Bieber summer, Lena Dunham summer. The dream of 2012 is alive and well. Hell yes. Last yesterday, I was driving and I was listening to swag. And then I was like, I want to like, double click into purpose, go back into purpose album a la 2015.

8:09I think the lyrics of his older albums are a little bit more poignant. But swag has like this like kind of synth, synth, like 80s kind of beat that I'm very much into. And it's more of like an adult, mature album of his, I feel. Yeah, I'm into it for sure. And did you see that Hailey Bieber posted on Instagram story? I guess it was like a billboard of like the swag look, whatever. And they did their little like family photo shoot where they cosplayed being like trailer white trash with wife beaters on in like an old like rusty like barn. That was interesting. But she posted this billboard and said, is it finally clocking to you fucking losers.

8:49I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa. Who are you calling a loser? Who are you calling a fucking loser? Are losers in the room with us? Like, who are you talking to? Who do you think you are, Miss Bieber? She ended up deleting it. But I was like, whoa, right when I feel like Haley has become like really likable. I was like, why are you talking to fans like that? It's like you had so many opportunities to actually clap back when it was warranted when people were literally sending you death threats the selenators but when it comes to literally everyone cheering Justin Bieber on for his new album she's like is it finally clocking you fucking losers it's like oh my god also like him becoming a meme for saying it's not clocking to you that I'm standing in business everyone thought that was funny like I feel like it wasn't like people like really like I mean maybe people are making fun of him but he ended up buying the rights of that paparazzi clip so now he has used that for the album yeah Yeah, yeah.

9:43And that one clip of him saying, money, money, money. It's all about money. Like he's grabbing these pap clips and inserting them into these like demos on his album. It's very interesting. Like, okay, Kris Jenner. Brilliant. Literally using the paps for his benefit, which good for the paps too. They probably got a lot of money. But did you see that Justin Bieber is now going to settle with the Scooter Braun and he owes him$31.5 million? Wait, Justin owes Scooter or vice versa? Justin owes Scooter. Wow. So I was actually thinking, and this isn't even a conspiracy theory. It's just like business.

10:19I wonder if the album, the quick release of his album, there was no press for it. There was no marketing. He literally said the week it dropped, hey, guys, I'm going to drop an album. And it just came out of nowhere, kind of like Beyonce. But it makes me wonder if he dropped the album in congruence with the timeline of him owing Scooter$31.5 million because he's hard up for cash. Wow. Wow, that actually makes a lot of sense. Yeah, and I don't think it's a conspiracy. I think it's just like when you need money, quick cash, when there's like a legal settlement that's going on, how are you going to do it?

10:53Probably the quickest and fastest way he can do so is by pushing out an album. And honestly, like I think album sales, it's so different than it was in the 90s when we would go as kids to Tower Records and purchase physical copies of CDs or albums. Now, the royalties aren't significant, but it's better than nothing. if you're streaming on Spotify. So, you know, I mean, it's better than nothing. Better than what he's doing, which is not really much over the last couple of years. Better than nothing, which is what he's been doing for the past few years. I mean, who could blame him? Honestly, like my ass would be in my freaking hillside mansion.

11:29Something that I want to talk about before I use throat spray, if you're watching on YouTube, I'm about to shove this down my throat. But Alex Cooper, I actually posted this. I did a little like DET preview on our Patreon for our tier two business runners where I kind of ran down some of the things that I wanted to talk about with Christy. And this was like the top of my list. And I know this was like at this point when you're listening, this was like two weeks ago, but we need to talk about it. It's I think I sent it to the snark bait text, the group chat. And you were like, I actually feel humiliation like in my body, like I'm humiliated for her.

12:04So for context, Alex Cooper was asked to sing, take me out to the ball game during the seventh inning stretch at a Chicago Cubs game. None of those words like mean anything to me, but apparently it's like a really big, important tradition at Cubs games. And they asked celebrities like Pauly D did it recently. And he's not like a singer. He sang it. He wasn't good, but he was singing it earnestly. Sure. So what Alex Cooper did was she had her sidekick, Laren, and then this other girl, this other girl, I don't know who she was on either side of her minions her little minions and she goes a one a two a three like whatever and goes take me out to the ball game doing like a mocking first of all that was like doing like a deep voice is comedy when you're 11 years old she's trying to be funny and her sidekicks are like giggling like doing little dances behind her and they're like oh my god this is so funny they're like trying to keep a straight face and no one else is laughing, obviously.

13:06And then the stadium starts booing her and Cubs fans are fucking pissed because they're like, this is a tradition. You're mocking our tradition. And whether you think this is like an overreaction, like a lot of people are like, well, she's not a singer. And I'm like, neither was Pauly D, but he did it. He took it seriously. He did it earnestly. It's like a fun thing where the whole stadium sings it together. And so many people were like, there was probably like 12 year old Cubs fan. This was their first game and you ruined this really fun part of the game for them. It's not funny. And it's frankly juvenile.

13:40I don't know why she thought she was like doing something. But this is the thing with Alex Cooper. Nothing she does is funny, fascinating. And I don't know and you have it here in our notes like it's giving industry plant and I forgot where I heard that I saw a tick tock as well that that was alluding to that I think it was DJ hungry human. But you're right. She's an industry plant. and I who is demographic question mark question mark who is the daddy gang I need you to raise your hands and stand up I saw a tiktok the other day that was like making fun of her and then I looked at the comments and the top comment was Christy being like who the fuck is the daddy gang it had like 3 ,000 likes and I was like I know her I was like that's my co-host famous no but like who genuinely who is her it's like she's not she's not funny no she's not interesting no she's not talented I guess and we've said it before her talent would be like her hustle I guess but she has no discernible talent or sense of humor or like she's just like not she's just like a a blank person there's nothing there as far as I can see it do you know actually oh my god when you were saying this you know who I and I don't mean to cause shade or be shady when I say this because I actually love this woman when I think of someone who's kind of a blank slate that's like a a jack of all trades master of none who has her hands in every single cookie jar, but is like not talented in really anything.

15:05And again, I fucking love this. Okay, Hillary Duff. Okay, you have not watched younger, right? No, I haven't. I've watched it a couple really good and younger. She was really good. I think that as she's grown older, she's kind of like been able to be this like influencer slash like moonlight kind of actor. And I love that for her because she's still bringing in the bag and people still love and actually respect her despite her not having like any talent and I'm not trying to say that they're like really comparable but I'm trying to say is both of them are this like white blonde like attractive kind of blank slate where you could throw anything at it and it is just successful and you think about like what Hilary Duff's huge arc was back in the day she was a singer she was a songwriter she was an actress she did all these things but she like wasn't that good at anything um but people still adored her because she was cute I feel like Alex Hooper has that a little bit I think it's the fact also that Hilary Duff is one of the few child actors that never really had like a scandal or she just like always remained kind of normal.

16:07Yeah. Not that she was like the most successful person in the world or the most successful person to come out of Disney. Or I would say that's probably like Miley, Miley Cyrus, who actually genuinely has a lot of talent. Oh my God. One of the most talented to come out of the Disney channel. But I think Hilary paved the way, but a whole other conversation. Yeah, but like look at like, you know, Lindsay Lohan, even Miley, like they all had those like really dark stages in their lives. And Hillary has always just been like cute, except remember when she was giving her ex husband head on a balcony.

16:39But that wasn't really like a real like, you know, that wasn't like rock bottom. That was like a girl just trying to live her life. And the paparazzi was remember when when she was like 16 and dating Joel Madden, who was like 24. Oh, my God. Fuck Joel Madden for that. Yes. Ew. Yeah, that would never fly today. But she kind of skirted past that. But in any case, Alex Cooper. I mean, she was like the victim. 100%. That's grooming like 101. But Alex Cooper, I know she has a huge fan base. Again, I'm unclear who that exactly is. But if you are a baby snark and a daddy gang, please raise your hand.

17:11I'm not trying to judge you. I'm genuinely curious. I think this is actually maybe the TikTok. And I can't remember the creator, but the TikTok where you commented. Where it was like daddy gang. The Daddy Gang was the listeners who loved this, you know, raunchy sex podcast. Like it really like it was there was an overarching theme to the podcast. And now it's like you're just asking celebrity softball questions. Like what is the overarching theme of the show? There is none. So who is the Daddy Gang? What are they what are they listening or watching for? Boring celebrity interviews? yeah I think that she has the benefit of having really good guests that will often go to like reality stars will go to Nick Vile and full-fledged a-list celebrities like a-list stars yeah for whatever reason like I feel like it's the old farts that are like big at like NBC or big at these like conglomerate media conglomerates and they're like that Alex Cooper girl right she does the big yeah yeah let's just book them on there but they don't know Gen Z loves her right yeah Yeah, that's how I feel her, how she gets these things.

18:19It's just like the older people that don't understand the way like fully fledged brains work from like a millennial perspective. Maybe it's a Gen Z thing though. Honestly, yeah. Like I would love to hear from like genuine daddy gate. I feel like there probably isn't a lot of overlap. I feel like people who listen to our show are probably feeling the same way that we feel and have listened to our Alex Cooper episode where we kind of posit these same questions. I don't know, you guys. What a fucking mystery. Okay, what should we discuss next? I think we need to quickly touch on Brock cheating on Sheena because this was a huge news story.

18:55So for those of you that are unfamiliar, Brock and Sheena are cast members on Vanderpump Rules. Sheena is one of the OG members of Vanderpump Rules. This is her second marriage. And it was aired on the last couple seasons ago. Her and Brock got married. We found out that they had been legally married despite having a wedding in Mexico like two years prior. They've been together for a long time. They share a daughter, summer moon. Didn't they have another? Am I making that up? No, just summer moon. Who, by the way, was born on the same day, I believe, has the same birthday or had the same scheduled C-section birthday or scheduled induction date.

19:29I'm sorry, I'm botching this sentence. As his daughter from a previous marriage, the one he left behind in Australia named Winter. Yeah, I was going to say, wasn't it like Harvest Moon or something? Winter, like Winter Sun or something? Yeah, yeah. Something like very similar. So there was a bit of - Literally winter, winter and summer. Crazy. So fucked. Very weird. So he was an Australian, he is an Australian and there were allegations on the show that there was domestic violence against his former partner. He was disallowed from seeing his children. But like, I feel like he was able to overcome these like negative rumors about him on previous seasons.

20:04And he's kind of been platformed as kind of like a non-problematic guy, especially when you juxtapose him or compare him against the likes of Tom Sandoval, like Brock seemed like an angel. But we found out recently through Sheena's new memoir that's about to release that when she was pregnant with Summer Moon, he was cheating on her with an ex-fling of his. They met each other, I guess they like had run into each other coincidentally outside of a gym or something like that. And they had talked briefly, they exchanged numbers and he was communicating with his ex-fling while Sheena was pregnant on like a burner phone or a work phone, excuse me.

20:37So even though Sheena was like, I don't know how he would have corresponded with her because I have his passwords for everything, whatever. But yeah, it was like a completely like intentional affair using different phones, very shady. And it's completely blew up the internet because I guess she found out about this affair like a couple months after Scandaval was unearthed, right? So it's like, while the whole world was looking at Ariana and, you know, Ariana was getting all these brand deals, Sandoval and Raquel were getting bit to shreds or whatever. She knew it was going through something very similar.

21:06And I'm actually shocked. She never said anything because she is known to have the biggest mouth and make everything about her. So it was actually like shortly after Scandaball when there were rumors that Raquel and Brock had an, which now looking back at it, I'm like, I believe it. I totally believe that. And so basically in this excerpt, it was a glamour exclusive where it was an excerpt from her memoir, which by the way, way to get us all talking about the memoir and wanting to buy it. Book club on Patreon? No, actually, basically Brock was like, okay, so while all of these rumors are flying around, I think you should know, hear it from me before it might come out that I had this affair two years ago while you were pregnant with Summer because this was 2023.

21:50Summer was born in 2021. So yeah, it had been over two years and it was just like the way that and I know that Sheena definitely I'm sure had like a ghostwriter but the way that it was written you could like viscerally just feel how devastated she was rightfully so but what's I guess frustrating is that like you said it's kind of surprising that Sheena wouldn't turn this into a storyline because in season 11 of Vanderpump Rules this season that basically got the show pretty much canceled it's now being obviously rebooted with a fully new cast we needed this why was this not and the fact that she was throwing stones at ariana at this time saying ariana's trying to control the narrative and not be fully vulnerable on tv we're on a reality show while she was hiding this from the audience actually like it makes her look really bad like i feel terrible for her obviously and i think that you know there are so many people saying this is exactly what she did with eddie sibrian while brandy glanville was pregnant which is by the way the only reason that banner pump rules exist so like we owe sheena our lives but like the fact that this was hidden from us as viewers is what i think is ultimately going to be the downfall of like i i actually christy and i are going to do a patreon episode soon of our like hot takes and one of my hot takes is that reality like bravo shows are way on the decline nothing is real anymore.

23:20Everything is being orchestrated. Everything is being thought out to see, to like anticipate an audience reaction. Nothing is as real as it was back in like 2008 or whatever, obviously. And it's just like the fact that this was being hidden from the audience is so like, it pisses me off. Yeah. I think there's a couple of reasons why obviously social media, when people on reality TV have the ability to connect with their viewers directly after the episode airs saying this is actually what happened and you can kind of bust any myths that come up immediately as a cast member whereas before when housewives would do they remember they were required after every episode to do a blog like what the blogs like blogs what even is a blog anymore right but i think now reality television shows are being produced heavily by production but also the cast members are hyper aware of how their image is going to be received and how that will impact their followers.

24:15Like it's a direct correlation. Number two, about Sheena, I'm actually like curious what you think, why she decided to keep it private. I think my theory is that yes, Sheena makes it all about herself. That's like her whole shtick. Everyone gives her shit about it. But I think Sheena at the same time does her absolute hardest to curate the most seemingly perfect life. And she couldn't let anyone see the cracks. And that was what prohibited her from being open about this. Yes, absolutely. And I mean, the fact that it had already come out that Barack had domestically abused his wife, his ex-wife in Australia, had abandoned his children in Australia, ran off to the U.S.

24:54to say, I'm trying to make more money for my family. So I'm going to go to the U.S. and make more money and send them money. And then just like, never. Was that good? Was that a good Australian accent or was that terrible? In the beginning, I was like, oh my god it's brock and then it got british and then it got british australian accents are so fucking hard you guys jordan just goes british kind of yeah yeah it was like ryan bailey does an irish accent for brock because he can't do australian right he basically right right then um what's all this then but what's all this so he ran off to the u.s saying i want to make a better life for my children and then just never came back he obviously is a fucking piece of shit and i think that Sheena was always kind of protective over him in trying to repair his image.

25:42So I think that's probably part of it too. But it just like, it pisses me off as a reality TV lover. Do you think they are going to weather the storm now that it's out? The dirty laundry is now aired and everyone knows about it? I think this is her soft launching that she is going to divorce him. As you guys know, I am obsessed with cozy season. Once the weather cools down, all I want to do is snuggle up with Baxter and put on a spooky movie. And that's why having a cozy bed this time of year is so important to me. You sent a message, and it turned out the seller was super chatty, kind of funny, and an avid cyclist. The next thing you know, you're in a cycling crew. Well, a community cycling group. The thing about Facebook, you might find more than what you're looking for.

29:51From a browse to a bike ride, this summer, find more on Facebook. Did you see that she made a statement that she forced him? She made damn sure that she was going to sign a prenup with him because she has a lot of assets. She payrolls his life, which makes the audacity that much more insane. Isn't that how it always fucking goes? You have a woman that fucking bankrolls your damn life and you go out and cheat on her while you're pregnant, you are the scum of the earth. And I hate that at one point I was somewhat rooting for him when his redemption arc was happening on Vanderpump Rules. Oh, same.

30:27Same. I actually was too. I was like, you know what? Brock makes She-She happy. If he's worked on himself, then why not? But no, fuck that. No, and I kind of liked him in the most recent season. Like I felt like he was a good kind of intermediary when Sheena and Sandoval were trying to like patch things up. I felt like he was really there for both parties in a way that was empathetic to like Tom and Sheena, even though Tom doesn't really elicit that, but he shouldn't have empathy. But like, do you know what I mean? I feel like he was doing a good job of teetering between the two parties. And this just makes me really upset.

30:58And like, what the fuck, Brock? It really shows that Brock hell, Brock and Raquel's rumored tryst. I mean, it was really brushed off as like nothing, but like a rumor. But like, honestly, at this point, I could believe it for sure. Wait, that's so sadistic. I can't even like, that makes me actually nauseous. Yeah. Remember when Sheena, I would trust Brock in a bed with her. Oh my God. I can't, I can't with Sheena, but like, obviously I would never wish this on anyone being cheated on while pregnant. Also, she had a very difficult pregnancy. It's just like so evil and fucked up. And I guess that like his, you know, his excuse was, I was nervous about becoming a father and I felt like I didn't or father again and I felt like I didn't deserve a second chance at fatherhood so I was like sabotaging myself like shut the fuck up loser or just like yeah he's such a deadbeat no no like like objectively and by definition that's correct yes we're not trying to be shamed like he is the definition of a deadbeat dad loser loser okay I really want to talk about love island i know i know you're not watching so i'll keep this very i'll keep this very brief so we're recording this on sunday july 13th so the finale is airing tonight so obviously by the time this releases it'll come out who's the winner but i want to talk about the final four and how people are upset about shelly and ace leaving my question to you is why ace has been the fucking master manipulator mastermind the regina george of the entire fucking island this entire time shelly was such a mean girl to hudda when hudda was like i guess she sat on ace's face in one of the challenges and they never ended up showing that but shelly was not showing her much grace her alandria and uh sierra were such fucking mean girls and it's not a surprise they were at the bottom when they did that what america wants like who's the most genuine who's a woman that like is least trustful it was very clear that ace and shelly were on the bottom so i don't know why everyone is so surprised that they were not booted off yeah i get it pepe and iris have been a couple for literally four days and they don't necessarily deserve it but no one on that island fucking deserves it.

33:06Every couple on there has been a couple for three days. Literally, we have Huda and Chris, who Chris was a Casa boy. So literally, it's been a week. Brian and Amaya. Brian, also a Casa boy. Obviously, Brian and Amaya are lovely. And if I weren't rooting so hard for Nick and Alandria, I would obviously want them to win. Nick and Alandria, they've had so many fucking wrenches thrown into their relationship. Like now they're finally able to like be a thing. But like, I get it. A lot of that is producer driven as well. But like Iris and Pepe, people getting all pissed that they're still there. They are no different in terms of length of relationship than really the other couples by like less than a couple days.

33:40So I don't know why everyone pissed off. Second of all, Nicolandria, the way that I kick my heels every single fucking time they're on my screen. I kid you not. My brother-in-law, my sister are living with me right now because they're visiting from London for like the next couple of weeks. My brother-in-law says that he hears me in the living room going, oh, like he's like, it's really cute. Actually, you're really into it um and i'm literally kicking my heels i'm like just going i'm obsessed like i get i get what people are saying alandria hates nick okay i don't necessarily disagree with you but let me have my fucking moment okay their kiss and soul ties was so hot and steamy it was almost pornographic dare i say like they were so into each other on episode 21 that yeah yeah yeah yeah oh you guys know what song I'm talking about.

34:28Okay. That song when they kiss was so iconic. And I can't shake the chemistry that was Nicolandria from that episode. And I get it. Like Alandria is still not feeling Nick as much as Nick is feeling Alandria. But when their families told both of them respectively, America has been rooting for you guys since day one, including us. We've been rooting for you guys, even though you guys were not able to see it. And to hear that affirmation from their families meant so much to me. And speaking of families, Brian and Amaya's family, usually Sophie last season, they do the Zoom FaceTimes with their families.

35:02And like, I haven't seen previous seasons of Love Island. So I guess this is not like an uncommon thing where they actually end up flying the families out. But I've never seen any episodes. I've only seen it on Zoom. But Brian and Amaya were like FaceTiming their people on their families on the big screen. And all of a sudden the video cuts out and they come up behind them and they tap their shoulder. And Brian is like sweet they're both um latin descent and they both are just like really lovey-dovey and warm to everyone and it's such a reflection of their families because their families were warm to everyone including like brian's parents were nice to amaya and vice versa and even like brian was sobbing when his dad came like all the men were sobbing when their families came and the dad was like oh i want to give you like he handed him an ipad and it was his mom saying like hi miho like I miss you.

35:49I love you. I'm so proud of you. And I'm sorry I couldn't come because I have like some health conditions, which like prohibited me from flying. I literally lost it. I was like ugly crying. Something about seeing the Islanders seeing their families after like weeks of being isolated, not even having phone contact with them made me genuinely so emotional. I was seriously ugly crying. And I'm actually ready for the season to be over. But I'm really glad that this last episode left like on a really high note. I don't hate Ace and Shelly. I'm like, they're fine I just don't understand what the uproar is about them leaving they've also known each other prior to the show and that's not a secret they've admitted it so I just feel like love island is there for connections and genuine connections that are made and predicated when you meet in the villa and that was kind of not happening with ace and shelly so I'm I feel like the right couples are at the bottom for and I really want Nicolandria to win but at the same time I love brian and the maya and they're probably gonna win and that's my love island recap um so the family visits sound a lot like the ones on survivor, which always make me emotional also, because again, it's like, they're isolated for so long.

36:53And then all of a sudden they're like, so dirty and like have, I know that's not the case on love Island. They're like all like glammed up or whatever. Um, but what I have seen on the internet again, like I have not been watching Love Island. But I saw the controversy with BuzzFeed posting that Shelly deserves a knuckle sandwich. It was like what what the Islanders like should have for breakfast or something. And it was Shelly, who's a black woman. It said a knuckle sandwich for her. And everyone was like, what the fuck? Like, why are you like promoting violence against a black woman? And then also So BuzzFeed posted something else that was like what every islander would order for to drink.

37:37And it was like a Mai Tai or like a pina colada for everyone. And then for Elon, who I guess was like the Jewish one, it was a juice box, which if you know anything about neo-Nazis on the Internet, they use juice box emojis to refer to Jews. And what the fuck, BuzzFeed? What is wrong with them? That's like so violent and aggressive, violent, violent. oh just disgusting no wonder who wrote that i don't know and they ended up obviously publishing an apology about the shelly of it all the juice box thing no one really picked up on that except jewish people but like what the actual fuck like fuck buzzfeed to be clear i am not above emailing buzzfeed editors like i will email them and be like i mean do they even are do buzzfeed editors like exist is are they like entirely like an AI generated media company now I that's a genuine question because BuzzFeed like does not exist anymore other than like making offensive memes on Instagram yeah I agreed like there they were such a a time of 2015 with the listicles and stuff but yeah BuzzFeed is a little bit deprecated now I haven't really heard much about them but that is wildly offensive and violent and aggressive and again I'm not above emailing whatever corporate I'm going to send them a strongly worded email.

38:56Speaking of the dying media industry, did you see the story that Jeff Bezos is allegedly planning on buying Vogue or Cottene Nast as a whole, which is the publisher of Vogue, as a wedding present for Lauren Sanchez? I did see that. So I've been seeing that everywhere. Is that confirmed or just still a rumor? I mean, it's been reported in like very reputable publications. So I think it's like in the works. Apparently, like Anna Wintour is like brokering the deal. And it's obviously very depressing and dystopian to think about that like something, a storied legacy magazine like Vogue with so much history and so much cultural impact can just become another vehicle for a billionaire to promote himself and his wife is depressing.

39:44And that's like the reality of the world we live in, I guess. But like there's something that is so dystopian about it. I mean, it literally doesn't even surprise me, actually. In fact, it would make sense. Like Amazon has taken over and monopolized so many parts of everything that we live, breathe, and exist. Amazon Prime, you know, fuck even having to buy anything else from any other distributor because we are so obsessed with two-day shipping. Yeah. We'll never be able to go back. Oh, you want to go to Whole Foods? Wait, it's an Amazon, you know, affiliate. Yeah. It's just another part of the conglomerate that is Amazon.

40:15So actually, I would be shocked if this were not true. Oh, my God. it's actually and also you guys I'm just gonna say prime day like I know that everyone freaks out over prime day and like there can be good deals some of the prime day deals are such bullshit it's like it'll be like 10 % off of something that's not a good deal they'll literally increase the wholesale price like the day before and they'll say oh it was$41.99 it was like it was literally like$40.99 yesterday it's such a scam it is such a scam one one last thing before we or wait what do you want to talk about now let's we're jumping all around let's talk about the page and joe d 'amelio sighting because duant posted a picture of page and joe allegedly from the back in italy holding hands and page this woman that appeared to be page although her the woman in the picture looked like her hair was a bit longer than pages but who knows i mean pages hair could have grown the outfit this woman was wearing was identical to like an outfit that page on her instagram story so i do believe it was them and page does take an annual trip to italy with her family and Craig has joined her on many an Italian vacation in the past.

41:20But this is what we've been saying for literally ever. Joe and Paige are together. They've been together ever since, but she's not coughing to it because she doesn't want to make it seem like she moved on so quickly. Yeah. And it's like, you know what? Let her live. Good for her. Like whatever. It doesn't matter. I will say that Damois wouldn't have posted those photos. Damois has a relationship with Paige. Damois has a relationship with a lot of Bravo liberties, has had a relationship with Paige for a long time. If you remember the leaks from Winterhouse season two, that was Paige and Craig. So the leaks.

41:50Oh, the leaks about Luke being a sexual predator. Oh, yes. Sorry. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Yeah. Paige has had a relationship to moi for a while. So those pictures would not have been published without Paige's explicit permission. And they were also captured like very close up. Everyone was like, was that like her mom, her assistant? Was this her way of soft launching the relationship before they officially like go public on like her Instagram as a hard launch. I don't know. I think, yes, they definitely have been together since the breakup. And again, there are like those rumors of an overlap. Potentially, we talked about this a lot when this happened and when Joe D 'Amelio's ex-fiance came out and said that she basically implied that Paige was DMing Joe when they were engaged and that there was overlap.

42:40Whether that's true or not, But I think like almost the bigger scandal here would be the fact that Paige implying that she is this single empowered girl boss who doesn't need a man. And she's 32 and she is not prioritizing men. She's prioritizing, prioritizing, prioritizing. I wasn't going to talk to you, but I was like, mm-hmm. She's prioritizing her career, not a man. When this whole time she has been wifed up by Joe D 'Amelio. I think that is like maybe like the bigger thing here is that she also has been putting on this front that she's been single, but I don't know. At the same time, also, it's like, I don't think it makes that much of a difference.

43:23I think that like, if anything, she does put on this front of, I tell the gigglers everything. Like you guys know everything about me. And if she's been hiding this relationship from her listeners, when she puts on this front that she tells them everything. Like that's also kind of not an amazing look. Yeah, I think people are starting to catch on to Paige's, I don't even want to call her disingenuous because I don't think she's disingenuous. I think that she's very curated. I think she's very image conscious. I think we've, everyone, I don't think that's a controversial thing to say. She's very hyper-cognizant of what she puts out.

43:54The Summer House, I mean, excuse me, Southern Charm Boys have alluded to it many a time. Like she's very conscious of her image. But I think people are starting to catch on to the fact that she very much compartmentalizes her life. And that's totally her prerogative. She's no longer on a reality TV show anymore. She doesn't owe us anything to her life at all anymore. And that's probably the reason why she decided to step away. She's like, I'm going to have my first relationship outside of cameras. And I think that's totally fine. But I think it's not even like a page thing that I'm annoyed about.

44:21It's people online that always say we're like not right about it. When we're like, we're just looking at facts here. And it's very clear that she doesn't want you guys to see this part of her life. And people have such a heavy parasocial relationship with both her and Hannah because of the podcast. Podcast is a very intimate way to get to know your favorite influencers. I get it. Like I have plenty of parasocial relationships with creators I follow. But the Gigglers take it to a new level where it's like they're not using like critical thinking sometimes. And it's like if you just objectively look at the facts, he's on a vacation with her family that they take annually.

44:53Clearly it's very serious. That's serious. And she's not copying to it. Again, which is totally fine. She does not need to anymore. What I'm saying is like, I'm sick and tired of people being like, oh, Paige is this and Paige is that. You just don't know Paige. She's private. She's a very private person. I've watched her for seven years and I know I don't listen to Giggly Squad, but I've watched her on seven seasons of reality TV and I'm like, I don't know her at all. I don't know really anything about her truly. Like I don't know her. But yeah, I think that this is definitely why one of the reasons why she decided to step back from Summer House because she would have had to share this on Summer House and she doesn't want to.

45:30That's her prerogative. And honestly, if she's getting that good Italian D, good for her. He's rich. His dad was the CFO of Pfizer, I believe. I think he's retired now. But yeah, rich. I actually was never. You guys, I am so creepy. I was like looking into the real estate of it all. I remember when she posted at the Jersey Shore over what I think was Memorial Day. Yeah. Oh, yeah. that shore house is nice and it's right on the beach. So yeah, good for her. She escaped Craig. Good for her. And she can, she can do literally whatever she wants. I think the problem is the fact that she is, I don't even want to say it's a problem, but I can see people having a problem with it is the fact that she's like, I am an empowered 32 year old woman who is prioritizing my career, not a man.

46:22And also I tell the gigglers everything. And then she has been like living this, this life with her new man and to be clear you can be a boss girl who makes a ton of money doing the podcast and date someone and not share him that is totally fine that's not what we have a problem with what we have a problem with well i i don't want to speak for you what i have annoyance with is people just saying that like you guys don't know page you guys aren't gigglers you're right we don't know her that's the entire point but you act like you do and you don't but neither do you neither don't even act like you know what it's like to run a business because you don't the people that are like you don't know page it's like neither do you you like it's just like oh my god people need to like i don't mean to be rude when i say this but like i always tell i talk to my friends about like even at work and stuff it's like we we need to use more critical thinking in general as a population people need to use more critical thinking you guys do not know her she hides a lot of her life and that is okay i'm down with her keeping that private like yeah she probably is so fucking traumatized by what her relationship with craig was like she wants everything to be private.

47:24So I get it. Totally. Totally. Completely. But you don't. So don't even act like you know. But you don't. What it's like. What should we should we move on to LEOs and DEOs? Yes. I want to hear yours because these are all really, really cute. And I agree with every single one. Okay. So these are all like related to my recent travels. This episode is brought to you by Facebook. So you were scrolling on Marketplace and there it was the bike you've been searching for. You sent a message and it turned out the seller was super chatty, kind of funny, and an avid cyclist. The next thing you know, you're in a cycling crew.

48:02Well, a community cycling group. The thing about Facebook, you might find more than what you're looking for. From a browse to a bike ride, this summer, find more on Facebook. I didn't like what you said, Odin pauses, about the future. This is the love story of real hinge couple Odin and Edward. Written and read by me, Curtis Garner. Listen to the free audiobook now.

49:55Why wait? Ask your doctor, visit BotoxChronicMigraine.com, or call 1-800-44-BOTOX to learn more. Okay, so starting with my light energy objects, U.S. airports. Traveling abroad makes me appreciate U.S. airports. They are intuitive. You show up to the airport, there is check-in, There is drop your bag off if you're checking a bag. There's security. Go to your gate. That's it. Foreign airports. And I'm sorry, like the U.S. does not do a lot of things right. Airports are the one thing the U.S. does right. And you also can show up at a reasonable time. You don't have to show up seven hours before your flight.

50:35I feel like at European airports, you need to be there three hours early. And it's so confusing. You have to go to separate floors. You have to schlep your – There isn't like check-in right away or checking your bag right away. You have to like explore the airport and go to separate floors to figure out where to check your bag, where check-in is, which airline, like, oh my God, it is so confusing. Are you referring to the Lisbon airport? The Lisbon airport is terrible. Yes. I think actually that is the worst airport I think I've ever traveled to in my life. You have to go to like a separate floor to check in.

51:10And you have your big bag because I checked a bag because I was like, I need to serve cunt. So I packed up my brother-in-law. I said that to my brother-in-law because I went, I went with my sister. I went with Henry and my sister and my brother-in-law and I was texting about like the back situation. And I was like, I said that to my brother-in-law and he was like, I don't know what that means. Like, what are you talking about? But I had Luke's, you know, I had Luke's. Wait, that's so funny. No. Okay. So I have a story about elizabeth airport i went there uh in 2022 and i was with a girlfriend of mine with sarah the one you met and i was like dude like we need to go early and she she we always have this joke where i was like she told this guy that she was dating at the time oh chrissy wants us to get to the airport four hours earlier and he goes four hours and now we always say four hours but i kid you not it literally took four hours like oh yeah the time i checked my bag we were running to get onto the plane, we were the last people to board.

52:07So now we always say four hours because it will take you four hours. Yes. No, literally. And like, this has happened to me at many a European airport. I remember when Henry and I went to, it may have been the Paris airport or the Nice airport. We did like a France trip a couple of summers ago and we were like, okay, we're getting there three hours early. We're going to have plenty of time to get some food and relax. No, we immediately had to board the plane. Yep. Yes. Because they start boarding like two hours early. And then we realized that we didn't sign up for a meal on the flight, which you have to do that, I guess, ahead of time.

52:42We went eight hours with no food, starving because we didn't have time to get it at the airport. We didn't sign up for a meal. We were actually starving. And the only water they had, we had to pay for. We had to pay for water on the flight. Was it like Ryanair or EasyJet? It was an international, it was like Nordic Air or something. Okay. Okay. But yeah, Moral of the story is I also like have had really good experiences usually with getting a tax refund. Like if you go shopping, you do the tax refund thing. You basically just like scan your tax refund document and then it makes you choose like credit or cash or whatever.

53:16I at the Mallorca airport had to go to like four separate locations. I had to go to a construction zone. It was like customs is back there. It was a construction zone. I was like, am I supposed to be? And it also was before I checked my bag because you have to do it before you like check in or go through security. So I was like schlepping my bag. Oh my God, just a nightmare. You're giving me PTSD for real. I know exactly what you're talking about. It's so stressful. And on the way home from my work, I was alone. I, cause Henry went to Lisbon with us and then he couldn't take off work cause he like, you know, actually like cares about work.

53:50All he cares about is his job and his mom. His mom and his friends. His friends. so he didn't go to my work up and then my sister and brother-in-law had an earlier flight and to be clear when I'm traveling with Henry brain turns off when I'm traveling with my sister who is the type a older sister brain turns off right so my brain I didn't have to use my brain for like 10 days and then all of a sudden I'm like where do I go what do I do it was so scary and stressful no this is so fucking real i feel this it deeply in my bones it's like those tick tocks when it's like partners we are going back to the united states of america like that's how i feel when i come back into customs in lax it's like i've never been prouder to be an american you know because of the ease of the airport i also having like global entry you need to have global entry especially if you're flying into jf fucking k 100 no when i do global entry have you seen those tiktoks it's like i'm crazy but you like that and it's like the guy like putting his hair behind his ear no like i literally feel like hot shit i'm just like yeah i can't relate can't relate to having to wait in that fuck ass line and speaking of light energy object no international airports have tsa pre-check because it's like a u.s government issue thing so like i never know what to do i'm like what do you mean i gotta take off my shoes like a freaking it's barbaric no but apparently that's no longer a thing to have to take off your shoes they're like no and all of a sudden yeah yeah that's not a thing all of a sudden you're not allowed to dump your liquids out in a trash can because it makes the trash can wet or something and so they'll be like you have to dump your liquid out there and i'm like what do you mean like why can't i just dump it in a fucking trash can don't even get me started when you're in london or ireland they have the little baggies for you to put your toiletries oh so you want me to move remove my expensive skincare to a nasty bag they're so strict about that i ended up getting the clear toiletry bags for me in henry because of flying through London once.

55:47100%. Another light energy object is pastel de natas, which are the egg custard pastries in Portugal. Egg tarts, yep. They are so fucking good. I had like 10 a day and I've been researching where to get them in the city because like I'm addicted to them now. So definitely just in general, this is my first time in Portugal, you guys. I was obsessed. It was never like on my list before until we started talking about the siblings trip. And I am so happy that I discovered Lisbon because like it's my new favorite city. It's my favorite. I think it's one of my favorite cities too. It is just like such an underrated European city.

56:25And everything is cheap as hell. Yeah. The conversion rate was like not amazing when we were there, but it was definitely cheaper than what we were used to. And also one last LEO. Actually, I have two more. tour guides are always so cute and passionate. We did a walking food tour in Lisbon, and then we did a tour of some of the surrounding beaches and towns in Lisbon. Kosh Kosh. Yeah, we went to Kosh Kosh. And tour guides are always so cute and passionate and knowledgeable. I just love them. Shout out to Carlos and Bosco, our two tour guides. They're the best. That's some of my favorite things to do when I'm on vacation.

57:09and do an Airbnb experience with local tour guides. It's the best. The best. And then my last LEO is Too Much on Netflix. Like I said, it's a Lena Dunham summer. It is the new Lena Dunham show starring Meg Stalter. Stalter? Stalter? Meg Stalter. I'm sorry. One moment, please. Meg Stalter. It apparently is kind of like an autobiographical story. It's a comedy about her and Jack Antonoff breaking up and then her running away to London, Lena Dunham. And I know that Lena Dunham, that is also one of my hot takes that we're going to talk about on the Patreon is that I like am a Lena Dunham fan. I love girls.

57:51It's one of my favorite shows of all time. I loved her memoir. I think that she is just so talented at writing and creating shows and creating work and her even her short film, Tiny Furniture. I think that she is just like so talented and I know that she's problematic and has like done and said fucked up shit in the past but like too much on Netflix you guys I highly recommend how is it like a mini series how many episodes and how long it's 10 it's 10 they're like 30 minute episodes it's a comedy it's very breezy it's kind of like I've seen comparisons to Emily in Paris but like Helena Dunham version it's like the expat single girl genre which is always fun And it's really funny.

58:33And the guy from, oh my God, White Lotus, White Lotus, Italy season. The Asian guy? Yes. What is his name? Oh, Will Sharp. Will Sharp is the love interest and he is so cute and perfect. Yeah, he was in something else and it's at the tip of my tongue. But yeah, he's really talented. I want to see him in more productions. Yes, love him. My Light Energy Object is The Better Sister on Amazon Prime with Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks. It follows, it's like a thriller. It's about this woman who is like this high-powered like CEO, CEO type girly pop. Lives in Manhattan, has a house in East Hampton.

59:09And she's at an event. She comes home. Her husband is stabbed to death in their Hampton's home. And all of a sudden, all the eyes are on the family. Like who in the family did it? Is it her son? Is it her? But come to find out, and this is not a spoiler. This is like all within the first episode. her son is actually her bio her the biological mother of her son is actually her sister so her sister and her husband were once together her sister elizabeth banks had a drug addiction she fell into drugs and jessica biel's character who's elizabeth elizabeth banks's sister ends up having an affair with her brother-in-law and they get together and they raise her nephew jessica biel's nephew together and he's the one that's found dead so it's like all these twists and turns and family drama and thriller.

59:53And it takes place in like, you know, Manhattan and they're rich and it's good. It's almost like Big Little Lies meets like that one innocence. What's that one with Jake Gyllenhaal? Oh, Presumed Innocent. Presumed Innocent meets Big Little Lies. Like that's kind of the vibe. So I recommend it. I've been, I blew through the first three episodes this weekend. Wow. Okay. I'm definitely adding that to my list. I feel like I'm so behind on everything. Cause I like didn't, you can't watch Peacock internationally. I know. Fun fact. I know. it's so annoying hey you so no yeah so I've been catching up on like the valley and next gen NYC which I also love by the way Christy is not watching but I'm trying to get her to watch next gen yeah I need to okay dark energy objects okay my two one putting your location in your Instagram bio in front of the pod Talia Lichstein um she posted a tiktok or real about this on her page and I think I posted like a comment and to this day I still get likes on it because you get notified when people like your comment or whatever she's like when people have their location and their Instagram bios something about that is very unsettling and triggering to me and I'm like what's even worse is when people say like PHX like arrow ATL it's the little location oh the arrow where it's like arrows yes the location pin and then it was like yeah ATX PHL MIA LAX like you're not cool it's like here's where I grew up here's where I went to college here's where I lived after college and here's where I live now and it's like no one asked it's too much information Like it's too much.

1:01:22Yeah. I don't need to know any of that. And it's like, it's a type of person that does shit like that. And it gives me the ick. You know what I've also noticed, and this is so, this is so hard. I'm not talking shit about the Idaho four. Obviously I have been watching. I watched the Peacock documentary. I just started the one on prime. Okay. I should watch that one too. Cause I was like, do I, is it the Peacock? The Peacock one, I think focus a little bit too much on Brian Koberger. It's like, we get it. You are an incel to me. like there's nothing interesting about him. Like he was an incel. He hated women.

1:01:53No one liked him. He was antisocial. He was a psycho. Anyway, the prime one I think is better so far. Okay. Good to know. In any case, I was, you know, you can still look up their Instagrams, which is like so fucking sad, obviously. They're public. Yeah, they're all public still. Oh, shit. And it says it has the little like remembering, but college students always put now it'll say like university of blah, blah, blah, class of 26. Like that's always like an Instagram bio, which I, it's like a universal thing. Everyone, everyone does that. Or it'll be like incoming class, like it'll be like high school seniors who are like, not that I'm like stalking high school seniors on Instagram, but I've just noticed this from seeing like, even like my cousins, like I have Gen Z cousins.

1:02:40I don't know. It's just like such an interesting thing that now people like use their Instagram bio to be like, here's where I go to college. college here's when I graduate I don't know it's interesting you know what it's kind of equivalent to is on Facebook when we would announce like which college we were going to I think it's kind of like that but it's there it's their announcing you're right yeah but I have noticed that too because like some of my friends kids will say like yeah San Luis Obispo class of da da da da or whatever persons and I'm like oh interesting but um so that is like less triggering than the location like PHX ATL like a grown if you're a grown-up doing that like it's okay if you're a college student but if you're grown up doing that like grow up grow like grow up get a life like yeah the other dark energy object is the notifications either on your iphone or on like i'm not even on facebook like i don't even go on facebook but sometimes it'll it'll come up and say like 10 years ago today and same on my iphone it's like one i look so ugly and embarrassing and all these photos like i just don't like to be reminded sometimes sometimes it'll show me pictures of like the dog that died like i don't want to see that right now it's tuesday and it's new thing is being like then and now.

1:03:46And it'll be like, it'll be like a picture of me and like my ex best friend or like me and my ex boyfriend and like, fuck off. Why do I want to be reminded that of that? Like against my own volition. I didn't say I wanted to be reminded of that. Yeah. It's so annoying. My dark energy object of the week. And this was also inspired by my travels. You know, the little, and I put like a picture on our Google docs so you could see what I'm talking about because I didn't know how to describe it. It's like the little like bin thing at the airport that they make you shove your bag in to make sure it'll fit in the overhead bin.

1:04:23No. And it's like, it is humiliating. And to be clear, mine never fits. And it still is always up there on the carry on. Yeah. And it still fits on the overhead bin. Yeah. It's like, I'm not joking. The only thing that can fit in that little cabin baggage allowance is a backpack. back we saw so many people that were like like trying to like get like shoving it in and we were like it's so dehumanizing like this is what what has our species become do you know what the people or excuse me the airlines that are actually like do utilize this is like ryanair or easy jet like when i was in college and i would fly to different it was easy jet it was yes yes they literally will make you they'll get you online they'll be like oh did you check if the bag required um was meter limit or max and you have to do it in front of everyone in line and everyone's watching and you're shoving it everyone's watching and then when it doesn't because no one's does you have to pay like a 98 fee oh yeah they like really fuck you on that one yeah no it's stupid it's humiliating it's dehumanizing it's it should be illegal yeah like what have we come to you know as a species like to be clear i'd rather pay 150 more to not be humiliated in front of 90 people behind me in line than even in front of my peers.

1:05:39Yes, correct. Like it's it's. Yeah, I don't know. I get I get sometimes it's the only option, but like I'm taking Kayla, you know? Yeah, exactly. I think I think that's about it. You guys, my throat is on fire. If you're watching on YouTube, I've used my throat spray many times throughout the episode. So sorry about that. But I still had so much fun being back, back on DT. And thank you so much, Christy, for holding down the fort. I loved your episode with trigger warning Ryan Bailey. Can you please clarify what that means? Because do you know how many people ask us this? And like, I guess we didn't really answer it when he was.

1:06:17Oh, you guys, we get this question so many times. And we've answered this in a Q &A on our Patreon. But like justice at the record straight. We say trigger warning Ryan Bailey because early on when we were doing the show, I would mention Ryan Bailey a lot because I just assume that people only know me through being on Ryan's show. And we had like one Spotify comment. I need to go back and find that comment and like screenshot it because they started a movement. Thank you to this person. Yeah. This comment was like, can you stop mentioning Ryan Bailey? I don't know who that is. And I was like honored I was like you you found the show without knowing with you found me and they may have been somebody who knew Christy also not to like toot my own horn or anything you know but I was like oh my god this is so funny like they they're telling me to stop mentioning Ryan Bailey because here I was assuming that everyone only knows me through Ryan Bailey right and then I told Ryan that and then Ryan was like what the fuck that's so mean Ryan's so funny because we would be talking and he's like oh i can already hear the comments like he's like he and i are the same like like biology and chemistry oh i can already hear the comments and then like you would stop is that okay is everything did i was it all right like he's so sweet is that all right he cracks me up so yeah basically now we say trigger warning ryan bailey because of that one person who was like stop mentioning ryan bailey all the time we can't help it like i'm sorry he's just like a daily like we mentioned him in every episode yeah but like because you record literally the same day we record this?

1:07:47Like, how can we not? It's relevant. It's relevant, you guys. Okay. Anyway, this was so fun to be back. Sorry if I was a little rusty. This is fun. Yeah. It's been a while. And also, again, my third is on fire. So apologies if I wasn't on my A game today, but Christy definitely was. This was great. And how do we usually add this? Thank you to Jordan, our producer, Rachel our social manager Olivia our researcher Thank you Baby Snarks for listening You can find us at Snarkbaitpod on Instagram I'm at Sofa underscore Ross Christy is at Christy Noel underscore underscore And we actually have an exciting announcement today You may have noticed You may have noticed that we rebranded Yeah, I guess Hopefully you guys like the cover That's why we were in LA We were a little bit hush-hush about it, but it was at the advice of our network to update our cover art such that our faces would be on it.
