1:18Hey, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Snarkbait. I'm Christy. I'm Sophie. How's it going, Soph? I know you were feeling a little under the weather this weekend, but how was your weekend? Yeah, I think I was just like sleep deprived, honestly, because Baxter has been sick and it's been keeping us up. Poor baby. We had to take him to the ER last week. It really is always something with this dog, but he's so worth it. Oh, my God. He's worth every moment. I know. Like he is so freaking cute and perfect. And you know what? He just has a very sensitive stomach and he was having stomach problems and they have not really subsided.
1:54So we are keeping an eye on it. But yeah, so I've been feeling a little under the weather, probably just sleep deprived. Henry's kind of been taking care of both of us. He is a saint. How was your weekend? It was good. I'm like, you know, when you just like blink, I'm like, I don't really know what I did. Oh, you know, it's actually so embarrassing to admit. I finally watched the Euphoria series finale because I just like stopped watching that show. I was like, that's so funny. You never watch. I never watched it because I was like, this show is so dumb. Yeah, it is. What do you think? It's so stupid.
2:31I actually was pleasantly surprised with the finale, the series finale. I thought it was way better. That two-hour episode was way better than the entire season itself. The season was so weird. So I know I'm a little, you know, a couple months behind, but I did watch it. And all I have to say is that kind of sucks that Maddie's—I love Maddie. Love me some Maddie. but it kind of sucks that Maddie's the reason why Rue was given the fentanyl instead of the Percocet. I honestly don't even remember. Exactly. It's not important. I don't even remember. Yeah, like it's been so long now and I erased it from my memory.
3:04But I'm glad you finally caught up. Oh, something that I did this weekend that you may have seen. I made beef stew and I was really, I was really proud of myself. I was just craving it like all week. And so I was like, Henry, let's make beef stew this weekend. And Henry is like the better chef between the two of us. But since he was taking care of Baxter all week and barely slept, I was like, I'm going to treat Henry and make him beef stew. And I was really proud of how it came out. It was actually my mother-in-law's, I mean, it's an Ina Garten recipe that's like heavily modified. And and I modified my mother-in-law's recipe.
3:42And I just love like stew. I love any sort of like slow cooked meal. And if you don't have a slow cooker or like a crock pot, it is the best invention. You guys, you just throw the ingredients in and then you forget about it. Set it and forget it. Set it and forget it. Like it is so convenient. And I just love a slow cooker meal. That actually was my light energy object. I love that. Do you remember back in like 2019 when everyone was all about the Instant Pot? What's an Instant Pot? Like, I don't even know, but I remember it was like, because I feel like everyone now, the appliance, like, what would you say is the appliance today?
4:27Air fryer. Yes. Like, I feel like Instant Pot back in like 2017 to 2019 was the whole craze. And I feel like it was a hybrid between a slow cooker and like something else. I don't fucking know you guys. I don't cook. But I feel like similar to desserts, there's always an appliance of like the year that people obsess over with. And then we obsess over something new. Like back in the day, we used to be obsessed with frozen yogurt. Okay. Then it was cupcakes. Now it's like, I don't even know what it would be today. We've circled back to frozen yogurt, at least in New York. There are like so many frozen yogurt places in New York that have like lines down the block, which is so funny because it's like I can go to 16 handles and get the same fucking thing.
5:08Like it all tastes the same. I'm sorry. And I love frozen yogurt. It's like I'm just not waiting in line for like culture or memes or all these trendy frozen yogurt spots. Like it's pretty, pretty straightforward. It's pretty straightforward. It's hard to mess up. OK. But what was I going to say? Oh, you were looking up the Instant Pot. Yeah, I was looking for the Instant Pot. I don't remember this, but also my other favorite kitchen appliance that needs more love is a Breville, like a Breville toaster oven. We got that from our wedding registry, and that's another one that we could not live without.
5:44So just saying, Breville toaster oven and Crock-Pot, those are my two necessities if you don't have them. I was at a girlfriend of mine's house this weekend, and she, first of all, She made these like homemade bagels and it was like the best bagel I've ever tasted. It was so good. I know. It was so good. She's such a like Suzy homemaker. But she had, it was like an hour place appliance, but it was like a toaster oven and air fried. It had like all the things like encapsulated into one. What? Yeah. And I was like, oh my God, it looks really fancy. And she's very like granola and like health conscious.
6:21And she's like, yeah, no, it's this. And she was like putting out all these buzzwords. I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever. It just seems very practical, like efficient. You know? Oh, wait. Is it the air fryer toaster oven? Yeah. By Our Place? Yes. Yes. Oh, my God. That's so funny. It looks like an easy bake oven. It does. It's very, like, dainty and girly looking. It's so cute. I know. It's so adorable. Tell us, guys, what's your favorite kitchen appliance? Yeah. Literally. We just spent the first, I don't know, five minutes. I know. Oh, I want to talk really fast before we dive into, like, what's on our actual list just before I forget.
6:53news just broke this morning that John Galliano has. Did you see this? No. So John Galliano, the fashion designer was supposed to have a Met exhibit and he was going to be the subject of the Met Gala in May. And news broke that he has pulled out after backlash because of his past anti-Semitic remarks and where he praised Hitler and stuff. As you guys know, we are, you might not know this if you're not a patron. We actually talked about this on Patreon during our fashion scandals episode a few months back. I think it was like back in like April, maybe. And I actually don't agree with this choice.
7:33I think that he we talk about this, that he has done a lot of repenting and apologizing and rehabilitating. And I think that there has to be room for growth. These comments happened in 2011. And I say this as a Jewish person, obviously. And I think even after this news broke, now I'm seeing actually more anti-Semitism because I'm seeing lots of people saying, oh, of course, the Jews get their way again, which is absolutely disgusting. just awful to read, obviously, and all of the common sections of business of fashion in New York Times and the juice box emojis. If you see the juice box emojis, that's not even a dog whistle.
8:14It's a very, very, very blatantly anti-Semitic thing. Right. Juice, Jews. So anyway, I don't agree with this decision. I think that there has to be room for growth. Honestly, I think that he, you know, we talked about this, has worked with the Jewish community. And I guess the, you know, the Met Gala also was falling on Yad Vashem, which is Holocaust Remembrance Day. And so I think that also was just an unfortunate coincidence, too, that just like didn't, it wasn't a good look for this Met Gala to be John Galeano themed on Holocaust Remembrance Day. But again, I feel like there has to be room for growth and like, he does seem like he has, you know, reflected and changed and, like I said, worked with the Jewish community.
9:05So I just wanted to say that because that is all over my news feed right now. You know, I feel like that's important to, like, acknowledge when people have made errors, but it's kind of how they kind of come to terms with it. And there's a lot of people that are, like, I think of, I don't know why this is coming top of mind, but, like, Stassi Schroeder, she's made, like, so many ignorant comments over the past couple of years, and we've talked about this to death. But it's like, I don't really think she's done a lot of work to actually understand what it is that she's actually done and how harmful her comments have been.
9:32But based on the Patreon episode that you walked us through, like, I think it was like a while ago, but it was a really good episode because you talked about different fashion scandals across like high fashion brands. And he was a huge part of it. And he said some really, really scary things. But it did seem like he was trying to truly learn by interacting with the community that he hurt. Yes. And I think that people and even before I researched for that episode that we did, I was like, yeah, fuck John Galliano, because all I thought about was that I love Hitler. You're you should have been gassed.
10:02Like he made some really, really, really horrible remarks. I but then I researched the episode and then I realized that he actually has done a lot of work. And so I feel like maybe they should have publicized that more. Maybe John Galliano's team should have publicized that more or I don't know, just made it more clear to the public that this is not the same John Galliano from 15 years ago in 2011. But I feel like, yeah, just the average person or average Jewish person hearing his name would probably be triggered. And even me before we did that episode. So, again, knowing what I know now after doing research on John Galliano, I just I don't think this was the right decision.
10:47But I'm curious what you guys think. When is the Met Gala? It's not until May. It's the first Monday in May every year. And they were talking about there was like talk of rescheduling it since it fell on Yad Vashem, Holocaust Remembrance Day. And that would have been crazy because it's the first Monday in May. You can't reschedule the Met Gala. So I don't know. I feel like they just should have made it more clear that John Galliano has changed, in my opinion, if they didn't want the backlash to happen. Because I think the backlash is to be expected. But I think when you actually do your research on him, he really does, like I said, seem to have changed.
11:26So that is breaking news this morning on Monday, August 31st. So, yeah. I don't know about you guys, but with summer in full swing, I am on the move constantly. 15:19one other thing as we think about um monday august 31st yesterday by the time this airs the love island season eight reunion will have aired and let me just say i don't know why they like they wait such a long time i don't even remember like the contestants names at this point like they're such a flash on the pan no one was really impactful on that show why did they wait so long? I've heard it's because maybe it's to like get the reunion closer to went like beyond the villa and to see who is like a good test for beyond the villa which is like the spinoff. I actually don't know. Maybe it has to do with like advertisers and like back to school and around the time.
15:59Like I don't know. It's stupid. Back to school. Yeah. It's so stupid because like no one cares anymore. There was no memorable people. I did see that Carl and Anaya were in Nantucket this weekend with their families. And they're just fabulous people. I just love them. Cute. Other than them, I don't really give a fuck about any of the other couples because they all sucked. And I hate that Melanie is still sincere. But I guess it will have already passed. But I'm sure you guys could care less because no one's talking about Love Island. Like, I know you even followed the show even after the show, like, when the show was airing.
16:33Have you heard anything about this? No. Yeah. No one cares. I actually, my cousin texted me and he was like, I know you just watched that reunion. And I was like, oh, did the Love Island reunion air? He was talking about Let's Marry Harry reunion. I was like, I actually did not watch that show, but I heard that the reunion was terrible for Harry. Yes. Wait, can we double click on that? I heard that he presented himself very badly because I guess he met his now girlfriend on his honeymoon with the F1. Yes. Yes. But like, then he came out and was like, I think the girls are being very insensitive.
17:07They brought up my dead father and I'm still reeling and grieving from that. What else do you know beyond what I just said? That he apparently, like one of the contestants said something. He was like, I don't even know you. And he was just like so fucking rude and like just apparently Amber, who was his F1, was really, really, really emotional and upset and kind of lashing out. And he was just so like looking at her with no emotion. that just kind of seemed like a sociopath, which honestly is on brand for him from what I know about him. But I've seen so much backlash that this is, it all circles back to Alex Hooper, that this is, you know, presented to us via Alex Hooper and Unwell and that she aligns with him and has called him the male version of her.
17:55And yeah, just another bad look for Alex Hooper. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, he, I don't know why we keep making him a thing. I hate him. I still don't understand. I hate him so much. We did an episode on him, didn't we? Yes, we did an episode on him. And Olivia met him, remember? Oh, my gosh, yes. But let us know, you guys, if you watch the show, like, I just could not get myself to watch it. I almost made you, Chris. I, like, wanted to force you to watch it, so I didn't have to. I honestly, like, we should have made you watch it. I heard it was really good. And honestly, knowing me, I would have probably loved it, devoured the show.
18:33Exactly. But I did read one interesting fact about the show was that all the women that were contestants on Let's Marry Harry, they have like little to no Instagram followers at this point. Like, I think it's interesting because I feel like when you go on these reality shows, you have this assumption at this point that you will walk out with like at least a couple hundred K. But these women like had basically no additional followings upon the show airing. Isn't that interesting? It's like you're going to publicly humiliate yourself for what? No, exactly. It is embarrassing. Speaking of Netflix reality, just really fast, Love is Blind UK, my favorite.
19:08Crazy, am I right? Love is Blind UK was crazy this season. It actually wasn't crazy. It was actually really straightforward and romantic and sweet because, spoiler alert, all four couples that made it to the altar got married. And then we made it to the reunion, which just aired yesterday or Sunday. and they all lasted and the reunion is filmed a year after the wedding so all four couples no messy breakups no anyone leaving each other at the altar wow um well there were some messy breakups but they didn't make it to the altar they broke up before the weddings um and then yeah all the couples stayed together which i thought was really sweet i actually loved it i thought it was like the best season like i love drama and mess obviously but i love it more when like people fall in love because you know what's actually interesting about i think european uk culture dating versus american culture and uk baby snarks please weigh in because i'm actually curious this is how it's been explained to me just through my brother-in-law my sister you know dating a person who's irish he says that in american culture we go away for college right like you went to iu but you're from ohio i didn't go that far i went to san diego but like a lot of I didn't go that far either.
20:20Yeah, neither of us, like, you know, cross-country did. But you go to these different states and you are exposed to so many different people a la college and, like, maybe study abroad. UK people certainly study abroad. I'm not making sweeping generalizations. But I think the mere fact of people living, I want to say maybe in Ireland, the way it's been explained to me is, like, you don't go away for college. Honestly, same with Canadians as well, from what I've heard from my Canadian friends. You kind of go local. Attend local. Yeah. So you're not really going outside your radius of where you're from when you attend college.
20:54So therefore, people are a bit more intentional when they date because they don't see, like, the vastness of people that they're meeting in their young adult life is limited. Interesting. I didn't know that. Let us know UK Baby Snarks. Is that accurate? Yeah. What I think is interesting about Love is Blind UK is that it's an entire, like, it's the entire UK. Okay. So it's like people are from all over. So distance is such a big factor versus the U.S. versions. It's Love is Blind Denver or Love is Blind Ohio or whatever it is. And the U.K. version, you have people from Manchester, like up or Cornwall, which is all the way down south or London.
21:36And then they have to talk about, you know, the distance. Even people from like, I think, like, um, Edinburgh, maybe. Yeah. Like Wales. Yeah. Scotland. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like outside of actual like England, uh, which I think is really interesting. Like that is always a conversation is how are we going to, you know, who's going to relocate? Where are we going to live? Like, how are we going to make it work long distance, et cetera, et cetera. So that is always an interesting factor there with Love is Wine UK. But curious if you guys watched it and what you thought oh my god we need to talk about laura owens i was just listening to love trap that released last thursday so before it came out that laura owens who is the woman that accused clayton eckard of fathering her twins that never existed uh she has pled guilty yes she she was indicted by a grand jury on four counts of perjury one count of forgery one count of tampering with physical evidence, one count of fraudulent schemes and artifices.
22:39If you guys have been following the Love Trapped podcast, it is one of the most exhilarating, bingeable shows you will ever listen to. I think Stephanie Young, who's a producer, she does an excellent job laying out the facts. But essentially, Laura Owens, she's a daughter of this San Francisco radio DJ guy. Pretty wealthy family. Apparently now they're in bankruptcy because they're trying to pay for all these exorbitant legal fees that Laura Owens has racked up. But she is essentially, and when I say conned, like truly conned, not one, not two, like at least three different men into saying that she was pregnant with their child.
23:15Turns out she wasn't actually pregnant with their child. She's gone so far as to file domestic restraining orders against a man named Mike Maranchini because, you know, he alleges that no domestic, no such domestic violence occurred. Like, I'm just scratching the surface, but this woman has never taken accountability ever in her entire life. She has evaded courts, court hearings. She just won't show up. She'll say that she has had an illness. Then they see her riding horses that very same day. I mean, again, scratching the surface. But I was truly astonished to find out that she pled guilty because I thought this was going to drag out for another decade.
23:57Yeah. So So basically she took, when we say plead guilty, she took a plea deal. Yeah. Instead of going to trial, she is taking a plea deal. And I actually was shocked by this also. She waited until the very, very, very last moment, the last day. I think it was August 28th. Classic Laura Owens. If you listen to this podcast, like she is so unhinged. Something is seriously wrong. I don't know what it is. Something is so wrong with her. And if you listen to this past episode, it was the bankruptcy hearing involving her mother, Jan. And I think she, it explains a lot. Her mom, the way her mom obfuscates the truth and manipulates and lies also.
24:37Like it is something that runs in the family. It is so alarming. It is. But she, I was listening to, like I said, this episode that came out on Thursday before the plea deal. The news broke that she accepted the plea deal. And Clayton was like, I think she's going to go to trial because she does not know how to take accountability. Taking the plea deal means you have to admit wrongdoing. You have to admit that you did something wrong. And if you listen to this podcast, like she has never once, no matter what evidence is presented in front of her, she has maintained, I was pregnant. I was pregnant by Clayton.
25:11I was pregnant by, you know, Mike Marancini. I was pregnant by whoever it was. Greg Gillespie. Greg Gillespie. Yeah, the other guy. And the fact that she will have to, in order to get a lighter sentence, She faces up to 12 and a half years in prison. It will likely be far less than that, but she will have to fully take accountability in order to get a lighter sentence. She has to, you know, admit fault and admit, you know, remorse. And that is going to be so hard for her. Yeah. And just to give you guys like a little bit of visibility into what she's capable of. she took someone else's sonogram from her mommy blog from like 2011, doctored it, put her using a Fiverr consultant, doctored the sonogram that belonged to another woman with Laura Owen's name, Laura's date of birth, acting as if this sonogram belonged to her.
26:12And again, that's just one of like infinite. And that's one of the things that she's being charged with fraud. Tampering with this, yeah. Is the sonogram because she is impersonating someone. Yeah. Crazy. It's genuinely very terrifying to know what this woman is capable of. Yeah. And it's so crazy because when I was listening to the podcast, she lived in San Francisco the same years that I lived there. And we lived in the same neighborhoods. And to think that, like, she was in the same dating pool as me at one time and we could have, like, crossed paths. She's just a very scary person. And her family, to Sophie's point, just encourages this behavior.

26:48Her mom specifically. I don't know too much about Ron Owens. They totally enable her. Yeah, during that hearing, Ron Owens, who has been apparently very sick, I think, with cancer. Yeah, multiple things. I think he said he has Parkinson's or cancer or something super sad. Yeah, he's been apparently very sick. He's in his 80s, I think. And he didn't say a single word on this hearing. It was all Jan. And I almost, like, felt bad for Ron. I was like, oh, my God, to have to put him through this at his age and his condition. Like, oh, my God, this woman is nuts. Jan and Laura. Like, they are both insane.
27:22You guys, if you haven't listened to Love Trapped, like, trust me. What are you doing? What are you doing? Like, it's so... Turn off... Honestly, turn off snark bait. But on Love Trapped, like, it totally lives up to the hype. It is such a fucking crazy, wild ride. You will not believe it. It is so hard to believe what, like Christy said, what this woman is capable of because it is so just unbelievable. Remember when she said that she told Mike Maranchini, oh, my dad's a radio host. He wants us to do a podcast together. Her family orchestrated Laura and her ex-boyfriend at the time, Mike Maranchini, to go to Iceland to film a podcast episode about millennial dating and promised him$200 ,000 for doing this podcast, of which she saw like he I think he ended up collecting like$800 total of like all the hours that he ended up working on this podcast.
28:08Yes. She literally conned him. He also had no radio show. Yeah. So basically she wasn't scamming these guys for money. She was like blackmailing them into dating her, into being with her. And that's why, yeah, that's why it's called Love Trapped. Like she was not trying to scam them for money. She literally just wanted these men to like be with her. It is like so fucking crazy. Like it's unlike anything I've ever heard. No. Isn't it crazy to know people like this exist? Like it has to take so much effort. to be that psychotic and oh also when on the stand the judge asked her have you ever had like a w-2 a job she's like never worked a real job in her life no her parents have totally yeah enabled her yeah yeah exactly and it really explains why she is the way she is agreed she's never had to be an adult she's been had everything handed to her i think she's she's 36 now she's never had a job She's never, like, had to be an adult.
29:05Okay, speaking—I know. Speaking of unhinged people, let's talk about these new Jax Taylor accusations that came out. Because it came out that Brittany Cartwright has been granted a temporary restraining order against Jax, according to TMZ. And she is seeking to have it made permanent. And she claimed Jax threatened to kill her and gut her like a fish while physically attacking her. This was during their marriage and throwing furniture at her, causing her to suffer injuries. Jax also allegedly broke three of her iPhones, one iPad and destroyed other property at their home. Brittany also filed a declaration laying out a pattern of abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of Jax over the last decade.
29:48In court docs, Brittany says Jax exhibited coercive control, financial abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, gaslighting and even physical violence perpetrated upon her. when i saw that tmz headline bernie saying that jack threatened to gut her like a fish the way that unfortunately i'm so unsurprised yeah this man i know we say he's reality tv gold objectively he is this man is also incredibly capable of an abusive piece of shit abusive potentially murdering like yeah men annihilator right men who have behaved at least you know to us, people have done far worse with far less. I think of Chris Watts, who is this doting father.
30:33We don't really know what happened behind the scenes, but Jax Taylor has repeatedly shown us who he is year after year after year. Never forget when the cast had to have an intervention on season two or season one when he threw that barstool at Britney while Cruz was home. And that's all that they talked about on air. God even knows what he's done behind the scenes. Oh, my God. And Britney, say what you will about Britney. OK, she was smart enough to record him during some of his abusive episodes. And in some of these recordings or videos that she took, Jax is saying, I want a confident fucking skinny ass bitch that's going to fucking walk around and be like, yeah, go ahead.
31:18Do what you want to do. I don't need some fucking little bitch that's going to be crying. grow the fuck up stop eating go to the damn gym be a skinny girl that's on tv not a fucking fat bitch stop watching fucking tv all day you should have been at the gym with me all day i make money i go to the fucking gym the fuck is your problem why can't you go um go back to your fucking kentucky house i don't give a shit leave go back to kentucky drunk ass bitch oh my god uh he yelled at her for watching family guy every fucking day of your life told her to get a job volunteer at a fucking pet store. He said, Ariana, Katie, they all do something and they're rich as fuck.
31:53They do something every day. What do you do? Sit around, just get bigger. That's all you do. What? First of all, what? I am the show, sweetie. You're a fucking little Kentucky little bitch that has nothing going on for you except for me, you little fucking cunt. You have nothing. You have nothing in here. And then when Brittany asked Jaxby, he called her the C word, he responded, yeah, I did, sweetie. can't you just picture him saying all this like oh this is like the least surprising thing i have ever heard unfortunately yes unfortunately yes i am terrified for her and i think you know what i'm thinking actually of this is super dark but when taylor russell was signed on to do real housewives a question that was asked of her at one of the reunions when like seasons one or season two they said wait taylor taylor russell taylor armstrong taylor armstrong Yeah.
32:42Sorry, Taylor Russell. Why did I say Taylor Russell? Taylor Russell dated Harry Styles and she's an actress. I know Taylor Russell the actress, but Taylor Armstrong's ex-husband. Ex-husband who was named Russell. Sorry. Russell, yes. That was the confusion. Taylor Armstrong was asked by Andy, why would you approve of going on a show like Real Housewives where you're supposed to show your family, your friends, your life when Russell was abusing you behind the scenes? And Taylor Armstrong responded that she felt almost a safety in camera and crew members being there so that Russell can kind of straighten out.
33:11I actually, I'm not saying this is Brittany's exact experience, but I wouldn't be surprised if Brittany was so hellbent on signing up for the Valley because she knew there would be some kind of protection in their marriage, knowing that everything that he would do would be caught on camera. Absolutely. I think that is totally fair to say. And I also have seen a lot of comments of people being like, this happened in 2017. Like, why is she married him anyway? Why is she bringing this up now? So I think that Brittany genuinely wanted him to change and thought he could change and was waiting for him to change before she released this to the public.
33:46And I feel like she felt like she finally, like, had no choice. And this is why she is filing a restraining order and she is trying to take full custody of Cruz, as she should. And, yeah, like, this is a legitimately dangerous person. Yeah. Like, he is so terrifying. And like you said, reality TV gold, unfortunately, but not someone that should be on our TVs ever again. We can, you know, enjoy. I mean, if you can still enjoy watching Jax Taylor scenes, knowing what was going on behind the scenes. But yeah, he should never be on our TVs ever again. And I think that there was this little, like, I think, hint of people saying, you know, the Valley sucked this season without Jax.
34:31They're going to bring him back next year. Now, absolutely not. No, there is zero percent chance. This man is absolutely terrifying. And I've been, I was actually listening to a morbid episode. They're one of my favorite, like, true crime podcasters, Ash and Elena. And they just recently did an episode on John List, who was a family annihilator. and it's just when people are showing you, I'm not saying like, I don't know, when people are showing you who they are, you need to believe them. Jax has shown us year after year after year, not only he is a liar, he's a cheater, he's a dangerous individual.
35:05The fact that he, when they were filming, threw a bar store at Britney and then denied it and said, you know, I just see red and she was talking to my friend, what did you expect me to do? And everyone on the cast was like, you know exactly what you did. She has bruises all over her legs. What is your problem? him and he like really didn't have shame about it he is so diabolical and it makes me wonder one what happened in your childhood to make you like what event damaged you or two has it been so much unfortunately drug use cocaine use that is completely at this point altered your brain not to give you any kind of pass but i don't know like i know that there's like nature versus nurture some people are just born psychopaths like i think that jacks literally was born a psychopath like i I think by all accounts, his sister seems normal.
35:50Like, he is a fucking sociopath. Like, he really is. He has all the markings of a family annihilator. I'm sorry, he does. I will never forget that scene on the valley when he walks in and Cruz runs the other way. And that is not how a child, any child that I know would be greeting their dad. Every child I know would be, daddy's so excited running up to them. He, Cruz, ran the other way, was resisting him when Jax was trying to hug him, cried when Jax picked him up. No, I know. I know. It is truly, truly heartbreaking. I know. I think, unfortunately for Danny, like, he was probably so pissed that Jax wasn't on this season simply because now Danny, like, Danny is like Jax light, but he's nowhere near Jax.
36:42Oh, yeah. Nowhere near Jax. obviously he danny sucks a lot but like jacks is a whole different level and and the real obviously the real victim here and britney is absolutely a victim but cruise like i just it is so sad to think about how much trauma he probably unfortunately endured while britney and jacks were living together and it seems like now he is in obviously a much better you know situation just living with his mom and um yeah it's just fuck jacks literally fuck yeah yeah gut you like a fish is one of the most terrifying things someone could say to you let alone your husband and the father of your child i can't even wrap my mind around that it's awful and the fact that fucking laurie k is with this man please knowing all of this and probably has known all of this for years is just so mind-boggling.
37:42Talk about a woman who's just super insecure and just, like, needs a man. Like, do better, Lori Kay. I'm sorry, I know nothing about you, but the fact that you want to stand by this man when we all know he is capable of this, you cannot say that this is infactual. Like, she has this on video, for Christ's sake. Yep. This is a very troubled individual, and you are going to be next. You are going to be the next target of his abuse, emotional, physical, God forbid, but, like, you need to get out now. This is not funny. This is not like, stop trying to be in the spotlight because you're with Jack's tail.
38:11This is a skittery situation. It reminds me of like the women that write letters to men in jail. Yeah. Right? Like, it's kind of similar. It's like, how are you attracted to someone that is like pure evil? Right. Like, you need to look inward. Right. Okay, on a much lighter note, this is just something that's not even on the document, but I'm curious. Have you seen like a bunch of Paige Loren's influencer posts on like influencer subreddits? recently, I have been seeing a lot. No. And I don't know what's going on. Because you know that every time Paige puts something online, someone puts something about Paige online, she gets it taken down like literally like the snap of a finger.
38:50For whatever reason, it's rampant. On like the Influencer Lounge subreddit, the LA Influencer Snark subreddit, they're posting like old photos of her. And I never understand that. I'm like, dude, she was still really beautiful back then. Like, I don't know what we're trying to do here. They're just trying to prove I guess she got a lot of work done. But I don't know why people are attacking her right now. Maybe because the U.S. Open is happening. I don't know. I'm just like very confused because she's usually so good about like scrubbing the internet clean. Apparently she did a podcast with Amanda Hirsch, Not Skinny But Not Fat.
39:21Yeah. And she was hearkening back to Clawgate. Remember when? Oh my God, I saw this. How she was acting like she thought it was funny. It's like, dude, you were so bothered. This guy on TikTok. I saw this. I saw the exact TikTok you're talking about. Okay, good. So this guy on TikTok, he goes, you know, I made this like parody making fun of Paige back in like 2024 when Clawgate happened. And miraculously, the video went down. And Clawgate, for context, you guys, was when Tommy Paul won some tennis championship. And she has her claw, she has her hand like wrapped around his neck. And it looks like a claw.
39:52And she's like holding onto the trophy and people were just making fun of her. And she was like, in this interview, she's acting like it was like such a funny joke. She's like, have you seen him? He's hot. Of course I'm going to claw him. And it's like, no, like apparently she was DMing this guy who made a TikTok about it, like begging him to delete the TikTok. Yes. And that's what she does. Like she does this often. She'll reach out to people personally and ask them to take things down or just get people to take it down for her. But in any case, this guy goes, you know what really It pissed me off, though.
40:20He's like, that video ended up leaving. It's fine, whatever. But I guess he responded and was like, I'm not going to take it down. But what I think would be really funny is if you were kind of part of the bit and you had him in like a neck brace and you guys videoed yourself in a neck brace. And apparently Paige Lorenz used that bit that this man suggested to her via DM and told it and replayed this exact idea on Amanda Hirsch's Not Skinny But Not Fat. He's like, you're taking credit for what I was telling you to do and saying it was your idea. Oh, my God. That's so funny. I have not noticed that.
40:52I haven't noticed like an uptick of like Paige Lorenz anything. Honestly, because we're blocked. So like she is just not in my consciousness ever anymore. But I did see, I follow Not Skinny but Not Fat. So I did see some of those clips and I thought it was really funny. There was one other comment. Like the rewriting of history. No, I know. There was one other comment on one of the subreddits where someone posted like seven pages of text messages directly from Paige saying, Hello, this is Paige Paul. Please take everything down. I've consulted attorneys, police officers. Like, she would not let up.
41:22And this girl was, honestly, this girl was kind of badgering her. I kind of felt I was a little bit, I don't want to say I was team Paige, but I think the level of kind of how often she was posting about Paige was probably a little out of hand. But Paige was, like, going back and forth with her on text messages saying, this is all the evidence I need. I've collected a substantial amount of evidence at this point to press charges against you. You're harassing me. Press charges for posting on, like, Reddit? Yeah. Yeah. And like. That's not a thing. That's absolutely not a thing. I'm sorry. How does she have so much time?
41:54I mean, I absolutely agree that people on Reddit take it too far. And that's why I've been spending way less time on Reddit because I realized I was starting to feel bad about myself. The amount of like appearance shaming, body shaming, even though it's like against the rules in a lot of these snark subreddits. The amount of body shaming is fucking insane. It's horrible. And at the same time, it's like it's going to happen. You're a public figure. Like, you just need to let it go. Who cares what they think? Like, that's the thing. It's like, you are so successful. You're one of the most successful influencers, like, ever.
42:26To ever do it. To ever do it. You are, you know, happily married, had this gorgeous wedding, beautiful, all of these things. It's like, why do you care what anyone's saying about you online? Like, I genuinely don't understand it. I don't get it. It's such a, like, a true, I think it's, like, the biggest thing when it comes to influencer culture is they pay this beautiful life. And to us from her Instagram, she has the most beautiful life, the most beautiful husband, the most beautiful job, a successful brand, rich. But it's like you were so deeply bothered. And it's so interesting because it's like you have nothing to be bothered about.
43:01Just live in your life and soak it up. Soak it up, all the awesomeness. No, I think it really does speak to her insecurities. And if you look at her, it's like, why would you ever be insecure about anything? Really? She's perfect. Yeah, but then it's like, obviously, this is someone who is deeply bothered and deeply insecure. Really, Pastor, you want to talk about Sophia Franklin getting married? Yeah. So, yeah, go ahead. Okay, you go ahead. Oh, you sure, Nance? Yeah. Okay. Go on, Nance. So Sophia Franklin got married last week to a man named John Messamore, who is a European private equity partner, co-founder, a managing partner of Silvertree Equity.
43:40He's just like a big hotshot finance guy. and I guess they met through a matchmaking service called McLean International. Apparently he's a UK and US national. A lot of people are confused like where Sophia will reside. She lives in New York City right now. It seems like he does like between London and maybe the States but she hasn't been clear on where they'll actually permanently reside. But the New York Times came out with like a first look at her wedding photo. She obviously looked beautiful. She's been very mom about who this man is until they got married. Then she released the name. Um, but Sophie and I were just talking offline about the honeymoon vlog that she did on her YouTube channel.
44:18And we have some thoughts. I actually didn't even know she had a YouTube vlog, but when you wrote, it was a little off. I had to look it up, look at, look at it for myself. What were your thoughts? Yeah. So first of all, I think she looked beautiful. The wedding looks beautiful. I want her to be happy. I want the best for her. She has gotten so fucked over with all of this unwell stuff. Um, and call her daddy, obviously. Like I, I truly just want the best for her. I was watching her honeymoon vlog and she is just vlogging from Italy. They got married in Italy and I guess, you know, stayed for their honeymoon.
44:50And she seemed sad and like out of it. Like she just seemed her demeanor was very odd and the comments picked up on it too. And I just hope she's actually happy and not just checking a box, you know, like I hope she's not just getting married because she thinks that's what she's supposed to do. And again, this is a big leap from just watching her honeymoon vlog. But like, I just something about her demeanor seemed really off. So I just I hope that she's happy. Yeah. And you're not the only person that thought that. I did watch the first 10 minutes of this 33 minute vlog and the vlog is titled Hi for My Honeymoon.
45:28And in the first 10 minutes, at least that I've gotten to watch, she explains that she's feeling like the post wedding blues. And she said that, listen, even like changing time zones is a lot for my body. And changing time zones and then automatically having to be on for all my family and friends was exhausting, completely understandable. But she said in the days leading after the wedding, she's like, I wasn't getting back to people, not because I was like soaking in the moment. She was like, I was simply sleeping. Like I was just catching up on sleep because I've had like a low grade depression.
45:58And that made me kind of sad for her. Like I do think that that probably is a thing, like people feeling, you know, all the attentions on you and you've been planning for this one event for so long and then all of a sudden it's gone and like, okay, now I'm just here to sit with just like myself and my feelings and how my life is going to change and all that. Like, I'm not discounting that, but people are a little bit concerned. They're like, she appears fidgety, something appears off. Her memoir is also going to release in like a month and a half here. Oh yeah, that's right. Daddy issues. Yes.
46:28So people were saying maybe she's, and she kind of acknowledges that she's like, listen, And I just came off the heels of like this crazy, you know, couple of days. And then my memoir is about to come out. I think she's just dealing with a lot of life changes. And so she's probably just trying to wrestle with like, what does my new normal look like? What are people going to say when the new memoir comes out? Like, I'm really excited to read it. But I do worry a bit because she's always been she's always been open about how she's had mental health struggles and has struggled with depression and anxiety.

They just have like such a good variety of brands and price points. It's just been like a go-to. They have like two-day shipping. Yeah, I was going to say, how's the shipping? because that's always very important. So, so fast. And I literally have been shopping on ShopBop for like 15, probably almost 20 years.
50:49Like it's just a stalwart in my shopping routine is shopping on ShopBop. I have had, and this is so first world problems, you guys, like I probably sound like such a brat right now, but there has always been a fucking issue the past like 10 times that I've ordered from them. First of all, the packages, they they're owned by Amazon now. And they've been I didn't realize they've been owned by Amazon for like a while. I was like, was it Amazon buying them that like their quality went downhill? I don't know. But apparently Amazon has owned them for quite some time. So I don't think that's I mean, it probably is related because it's like fucking Amazon.
51:31But like. I have had packages arrive that looked like they made it through a sandstorm. Like I'm not even like destroyed, packages destroyed, covered in dirt. Like frayed. Yeah, frayed, like coming apart at the seams. So that I have also received the wrong items. What? Multiple times. No, that's that's not OK. And first of all, it's like not that big of a deal. Like I have received incorrect items in the past from them. And I'll just be like, hey, I received the wrong item. Can I get, you know, the thing that I actually ordered? I'll ship this back and then you can ship me the item that I actually want.
52:12And it's like, sure, no problem. Their customer service isn't bad. I ordered this perfect fall jacket. It was on sale for an amazing price. I was like thinking ahead. You know, I ordered this in like July. And I was like, you know what? I'm really thinking ahead to fall. Like I am getting this fall jacket for such a good price. It was an Alex Mill jacket. And it was like discounted. I was like, this is such a fucking good purchase. I received a beanie from another brand instead. You're kidding. A beanie. And then when I reached out to them, they said they had no more of that jacket in stock. So I just, I got a refund, thankfully.
52:47But like, I'm so mad. I'm like, I wanted that jacket. So anyway, I am curious if you guys have been dealing with similar issues from ShopBot because it is really, really, really changing the way I shop now. Like, I don't want to shop with them anymore. Yeah, that I feel like sometimes packages like in transit, the packaging looks all messed up. OK, that I can live with. Shit happens. Shit happens. But it's the amount of times that it's happened that I'm like, OK, this is now a pattern where it's like I cannot rely on you anymore. Absolutely. And you know what's even most frustrating about that?
53:18I hate when, again, first world problems. We know there's like a lot bigger problems in the world, guys. This is supposed to be funny. Absolutely. I was going to say that, you know, what's really frustrating about shopping in general and like things like this happening is when let's say you're going on a trip or like your trip will rely on this specific outfit that you've coordinated and then it's wrong. That grinds my gears. Like, please don't do that to me. I have limited time and I have to get it tailored. Okay. Because I'm like a petite woman. Yeah. Please. I need time. That absolutely has happened to you before where it's like, wait, I planned this so that it would arrive right before my trip.
53:51You know, I was doing some last minute shopping for vacation. And then I get, you know, my package at the last minute and then it's the wrong item. And then I can't bring that cover up that I had planned to bring because well, you sent me the wrong item. They could Amazon couldn't get it together. Yeah. Amazon. That's what it is. It's like Amazon. Like, I swear, it's just it's it's the equivalent of private equity firms buying a Panera. It's like profit margins come first. But what about me? But what about me? So it's like they're just going to fucking slap some shitty ass packing tape on this on this package, blow it through a sandstorm.
54:34And then that's how I receive it. Blow it. It's it's literally like an Outer Banks when they're like in Morocco. That's what it feels like my package went through. Also, I'm one episode away from the finale of Outer Banks. Oh, my God. I loved it. I'm sorry. Unpopular Pretty and I loved the last season of because I had so much fun. I think it is way better than seasons three and four. But like, again, I don't know what they're talking about anymore. Yeah. Like, do you know what I mean? It's like, they'll talk about something. I'm like, what are you even saying? You should basically be speaking a different language.
55:05I have no idea what it is you're referring to, which artifact you're trying to do, which Siddley you're trying to replicate. The Siddley. The Siddley. And also the fact that like, they're literally high schoolers or however fucking old they are, teenagers. And they're like fighting international mercenaries all the time and winning. It's like so unrealistic, but I love it, you guys. Like, it's so good. I was I was satisfied with it. I mean, Drew Starkey is. Oh, I watched Queer last night, which is his movie. Of course, with Guadagnino. Yes, with Daniel Craig. And I'd never seen it before. How was it?
55:44And very sexy. Very sexy. Sorry. Very sexy. Very sexy. Yeah, I enjoyed it. I think that it was like a little bit slow. I could see that. It's based on a book and it's kind of like this dynamic of Daniel Craig, who's this older, wears his heart on his sleeve. And then Drew Starkey, who is this younger, mysterious, like you can't read him. And so it's kind of like there's so much they're not saying. And you're supposed to be like picking up on like. But he does such a good job, I feel like. I mean, they both do. Do you know Craig? It's like, duh. But Drew Stark, I feel like this really was a really breakout role for him because he is so good.
56:26As this mysterious, you can't read what he's thinking. So yeah, definitely recommend that movie. Oh, my light energy object. I watched Practical Magic because we were just talking about how neither of us have seen Practical Magic. I'm like, when did that happen? When did everyone decide that they were going to watch Practical Magic as children? Um, but I watched it this weekend and I loved it. It is so cozy and like witchy and their kitchen, you guys watching it. I was like, that's my dream kitchen. Like this is my dream house, dream kitchen. Like it's just so cozy. Loved it. I'm now so excited for the sequel.
57:06Henry loved it too. Yeah. Again, you guys, it's hard for me and Henry to like agree on movies and shows. So the The fact that he loved it, watch it with your SO if you haven't already. Oh, this is such a cute case. Yeah, it's timeless. This could be in vogue now or the 90s or whatever this was filmed. That's what I was thinking. I'm like, there are so many things that look dated in like certain movies. Everything in Practical Magic. And this movie came out, I believe, in 1998. The house, the kitchen, the clothes, everything stands up. Like there was something about the 90s. Obviously, there will be things from the 90s that feel dated.
57:41But something about the late 90s that just either it's timeless or because those things are back in style, like the slip dresses and the camis and the cardigans, like it just feels so like I just wanted the wardrobes. I wanted the house like I just I loved every second of it. It's such a good fall movie also. So honestly, like when it comes to 90s aesthetic, I don't know if it's because we grew up in that time and we were young growing up. But something about 90s decor is just cozy as well. Cozy and nostalgic. Yeah. And I don't know if like obviously maybe Gen Z, like our team can tell us if you feel the same way about like 90s aesthetic as I do.
58:20But when I'm on TikTok and I hear those damn sounds of like the kids kind of. Yeah. the laughing the laughing sound like oh my god stop it's so scary and everyone's like please like i don't have the capacity for this right now like please i really don't want to do it but it does make me really like sad or like the first time i ever drank was in this kitchen and it's like a tuscan style like rich person's home that is quite literally where i first drank i love a tuscan kitchen i really do no me too that's it's so nostalgic when i would yeah real houses orange Orange County season one. Yeah, exactly.
58:57Exactly. Just so cozy. You're always getting drunk at like the rich kids' homes with a Tuscan-style kitchen. Yeah. Okay. My DEO is honestly just like clothes shopping in general. I feel like every time I open my closet, I have nothing to wear. Okay? And every time I order something on Revolve, it always looks beautiful on the model. You put it on me. It looks literally hideous. It's too long on me. It's too small on me. It's too big on me. I need to tailor it. It doesn't even look any— Like, I just, it's so frustrating and it makes me question my entire existence. And plus, if I'm traveling with a fashionable friend, it makes it all the more stressful.
59:33Like, because, oh, I have to serve. Do you know what I mean? And it pisses me off. Like, I don't want to serve. Revolve, Revolve is very, like, I got all of my tour outfits from Revolve because I ordered so many options that, like, I needed the free returns and the fast shipping. I ordered brands from Revolve that I know are good brands. Right. So many of the brands on Revolve are so fucking cheap. So many of the clothes are cheap. It's fast fashion. It is. And you got to be really careful with the brands you're choosing on there. And yeah, like so much of it is cheap as fuck. It really is fast fashion.
1:00:12Like I can't with anything. I only like it because of the easy returns and like they come with a shipping label and everything. It's just convenient. Shipping label is exactly. That's what it is. And that's why I was like, you know what? Like I ordered so many options for like our tour outfits. I was like, I just need options. And having, you know, the free shipping in the return label just made everything easier for all the things I returned. But yeah, you got to be careful with Revolve for sure. Right. It's just it's super frustrating. And I'll never forget the horror stories of the girls that came out on TikTok.
1:00:42I can't even talk about it. Please. No, I already know what you're going to say. Oh, my God. You know what I'm going to say? where they ordered like shorts and there was like like period stains and like discharge like disgusting ass shit and the you have to be careful with the rob i'm telling you like it is so hit or miss mostly honestly mostly miss i that's so i know it's disgusting i'm so sorry i'm so sorry you guys that i just said the word discharge on on your tuesday morning i'll never forget when you're like there was like a poop stain on like the shore oh yeah someone had a poop stain too Oh, no.
1:01:15Oh, my God. It's so fucking gross. That is truly like, oh, my God. You know what I just thought of? What? When that girl found that rat in her Alani energy drink. Oh, my God. So I'm going to throw up. No, like what is, like what? I think the rat obviously is worse, but like both are really, really disgusting and dark. No, both are awful. Like both would like be traumatizing. Absolutely. Yeah. Okay. So my light energy object, I have two. Actually, I'll just do one. So beach days, I forget. Anytime I'm feeling a little down or whatever, I'm always like, I should go to the beach. And I know that's privilege because I live close by it.
1:01:52And every time I do go, I genuinely do feel so much better. And I went with my high school girlfriend on Friday and her two kids. And she was telling me, she was like, you know that when you're in the ocean, it actually generates, the ocean waves generate negative ions. and inhaling negative ions is actually like proven to help increase the flow of oxygen to the brain it increases your serotonin levels like physically and mentally it actually does have a lot of health benefits and i just like i need to remember that sometimes i'm like just to be in the ocean and like smelling the ocean breeze and putting your feet in the water and like being around children when they're like so happy and playing with sand castles and just playing with them it was like so nice and healing so that is my energy object if you live by a beach i highly recommend going more often.
1:02:40I did not know that, that there's like a scientific reason why the ocean is therapeutic, but that totally, totally tracks. I actually, yeah, because I, first of all, I grew up landlocked. So like, I appreciate the ocean probably so much more than like people who grew up by the ocean. Like I really appreciate just the water and being near it. And, you know, we go to the Jersey shore a lot in the summer and I just, there's something so just, yeah, therapeutic about like ocean waves and like an evening walk on the beach with like Baxter. And I just love it. I love the beach. It's my favorite. It really is.
1:03:19I'm so jealous that you can go like every day if you want to do, you know, it's just like, it's so healing. I can't, and it's been so hot and it was just like, it was, Oh yeah. It was just like, so freaking nice. We watched the sunset, like beautiful day, beautiful girl beautiful kids you know also yeah also like the beaches on the west coast are like so just stunning like east coast beaches are nice too but i feel like the landscapes of the east west coast beaches are just like otherworldly if you know you know yeah no they are they are very very nice i went to corinne del moro which is like um it's like the main beach so it was really crowded but still it was beautiful nonetheless and the waves were huge i was like oh my god the waves are never this big here but no i loved it so get out to the beach if you guys are able to and you live by get out there yeah um tomorrow on patreon what are we talking about um we are talking about the fia scandal i unpacked the fia scandal which is phoebe gates and sophia kiani's startup and their cookie stuffing scandal so we talk about the background of fia and break down, you know, what this cookie stuffing is.
1:04:28And yeah, this was a very fun episode. So I think you kind of inspired me. 1:05:03Our business runners, we have like a live chat that we chat in all day. So I'll probably make some moves on that tonight when I'm watching the stupid Love Island reunion. It's so dumb. So dumb. It's so stupid. Wait, you know that meme that's like the handcuffs? It's like Spongebob. It's like the handcuffs that are huge. but it's like no one no one is forcing you to watch it but you're gonna watch it anyway it's like you can escape the handcuffs but you know i know no one has a gun to my head i'm acting like i'm doing this against my will no it's like like i will be sad optional fully optional by the way optional by the way okay we love you guys so much and we'll see you tomorrow on patreon or another episode of what's a snark on thursday have a great week bye
