In short
The episode of Stark Bait (“Dark Energy Tuesday”) is a pop-culture roundup with heavy commentary on reality TV, celebrity news, and online discourse. It opens with a sponsor segment, then dives into Love Is Blind Season chatter: hosts focus on Sparkle Megan and Jordan (a mature couple with a fight at the wedding preview; Jordan is a single dad with a 5-year-old son). They discuss the type 1 diabetes connection between Jordan’s son Luca and Megan’s late father, and argue it may be meaningful but could also blind them to practical differences. They also cover Annie and Nick’s breakup (Nick’s “robotic” vibe and “lizard eyes,” plus Annie repeatedly begging him to marry her while drunk) and Madison and Joe’s breakup (speculation about prior conversations, Joe’s lack of attraction, and claims that Casey and Joe later had a fling; plus Madison alleging Joe ghosted after making out post-show).
Next
Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show reactions (influencer-driven buzz, Amelia Gray’s runway controversy, and debate over whether the rebrand feels like a return to “old VS”). Then: Bradley Cooper’s facelift (hosts call it “jarring” and too tight). Ariana Bierman and Hudson breakup (rumored cheating; uncertainty about their Adored Angels brand). Selena Gomez vs. Hailey Bieber (Hailey’s paywalled interview about Sephora products; Selena’s cryptic IG response). They also rant about Nick Viall’s plane-seat entitlement on The Vile Files (calling others “assholes” and telling his co-host to ensure their toddler annoys neighbors). Finally: rumors Zach Bryan may be engaged to Samantha Layton (a Brianna Chickenfry lookalike).

My kitchen runner, foyer runner, outdoor balcony rug, and living room rug are all Ruggable. I'm not exaggerating. Not only do they have the chicest designs for whatever you're looking for, whether your style is boho, modern, classic, the rugs are both stain-resistant and machine-washable. This is key for me as a New Yorker with a dog. You don't even want to know what kind of city sludge he can drag into the house on any given day.
0:33Sophie Ross:But with Ruggable, you don't have to worry about professional carpet cleaners or big machines. You can just throw it in the wash and it comes out looking as high quality as the day you got it. It's truly a game changer. Oh, and the non-slip backing that every single one of the rugs has, also key for having a dog with the zoomies. So they're functional for high traffic homes, yes, but they're also fashionable. I truly take pride in my interior design skills and my guests always compliment my rugs. Thanks, Ruggable. Love ya. And so happy you're a sponsor now. Refresh your home at Ruggable.com. 2:07Sophie Ross:Hey guys, welcome back to Stark Bait. I'm Sophie. I'm Olivia, our researcher. Christy is O-O-O today. So we have OOR to help us with Dark Energy Tuesday. And we have so much to talk about today, you guys. We talk about Love is Blind, the Victoria's Secret fashion show, Bradley Cooper's facelift, Ariana Bierman and Hudson breaking up. We're shook. Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber. Nick Vile, Natalie Joy. Zach Bryan may be getting engaged. I don't know. There's so much to talk about, you guys. So let's just get into it. Let's do it. Let's do it.
2:59Sophie Ross:Hi, Olivia, our researcher, our special guest host today. How are you doing? Hello. I'm so good. I'm so excited to be here. I'm a little bit sick. So I don't know about you, but when I'm sick, my like brain also doesn't work half the time. Um, so every, anything I say, if it sounds stupid, um, it's not my fault basically. Yeah. We won't, we won't hold it against you. I mean, Olivia, you guys all know Olivia, our researcher, she's an icon. So now you're getting to hear the voice. I'll be at a little bit sick of a voice. You sound great to me. But you get to hear the voice behind the researcher, which is really exciting.
3:44Sophie Ross:So yay. Yay. I'm excited to be here. And yeah, sounding a little bit, a little cuter than usual today. Also, if you're watching, if you're watching on YouTube, we are both so cozy. We're both wearing like huge chunky sweaters. It's cozy season. And I love that for us. Okay. How was your weekend? first of all? Good. Well, I actually just got back from being in Europe for three weeks, which is why I got sick. I think I split a bottle of wine with my boyfriend every day for like 21 days straight. So yeah, you're going to get sick if you do that. As you should. Yeah. So I'm really just coming off of that and recovering.
4:26But luckily, I also had a lot of TV to catch up on, which I know we'll be discussing. And I also celebrated my mom's birthday over in Germany. So happy birthday to my mom. Shout out to her because she's a baby snark or she's a mama snark rather. But yeah, it was amazing. How was your weekend?
4:43Sophie Ross:It was good. Happy birthday, mama, our researcher. Miss researcher. Miss researcher. Miss. Yeah, Europe looked amazing. My weekend was boring. I feel like it's been really chill. I am crashing Henry's work trip in Miami this week. So I just last minute, we last minute decided that I'm going to come to Miami with him. So I'm like excited, kind of. I'm also like, I don't know. It's not going to be like a real vacation. I'm working from Miami, but I'm like, I might as well get the get the free hotel room. um oh my god what was I gonna say I lost my train of thought I guess let's get to like our TV oh I was gonna say the reason that I'm drinking I was just telling Olivia and Jordan this I'm drinking an old expired crusty coke because my coffee machine doesn't work and it's I mean it's 10 30 a.m it's not like that early but like I need coffee and I slept through my alarm so I didn't have time to go get coffee.
5:50Sophie Ross:So if you see me chugging this old crusty Coke bottle, that's why. Okay. Anyway, let's get into it. I feel like we both want to talk about Love is Blind. Yes. I know you just binged it. What were your thoughts? I could not stop watching it. I also like on my plane ride home on Friday had the next subject that we are going to cover. I was like, I'm going to use this time to really get into it. And I kind of pulled a Sophie and started watching Love is Blind instead and got through like half of it and then watched the other half yesterday when I was sick laying on the couch. But these people are wild.
6:29All the men are actual children and no one is getting married. No, I don't think.
6:35Sophie Ross:I will say though, am I the only person that's rooting for Sparkle, Megan and Jordan? I really am rooting for them, but they're not going to work. There's no way. The dynamic is just off and I want them to work so bad. And I think Sparkle Megan was so intentional with everything she was doing and like so mature and Jordan too. But yeah, that's not going to work. That dynamic, you can already tell she's resenting him for their like differing economic backgrounds, you know? Yeah, because he has a nine to five. Sounds like he works really hard. She is basically like retired and just wants to flounce around and, you know, but I do think they have a very mature communication style.
7:20Sophie Ross:I think that clearly she is ready to step in to like be a step mom, be the mom that stepped up. So I don't know. I'm rooting for them. They're the only couple where I think it could work. I don't think they were not in the preview if you saw the preview for the weddings and this is not like a spoiler you guys as long as you're caught up with the most recent episodes you can watch the trailer for the wedding episode and they're not shown at all so we obviously leave off with them being in a fight so I'm wondering if they either completely called off the wedding or this is what I'm hoping for that they said we have a child involved here for if you're not watching Love is Blind.
8:02Sophie Ross:I know this probably isn't that interesting, but Jordan, who we're talking about as a single dad, so he has a five-year-old son. And I think that they might decide to continue their relationship, but not get married right away because there's a child involved, right? Right. You're right. And I think there's a lot going on off camera, obviously, because of the child and the child's mom that we don't see, rightfully so. I was kind of nervous that maybe we were going to see that. And I was like, no, no, no. So I think there's a lot we don't know, but I can totally see them because they're both so emotionally mature, especially relative to a lot of the people on the show that I can see them saying, I just don't want to do the show.
8:42And let's just take this off cam. So I hope that's the case if they end up not doing the weddings.
8:50Sophie Ross:I know. I love them. Sorry. I do. Even though he drinks chicken smoothies. oh yeah Jesus Christ I like wanted to throw up watching that I know it was sickening I also have seen a lot of discussion about the fact that basically Jordan's son Luca has type 1 diabetes Megan's dad passed away four years ago from complications related to type 1 diabetes I've read maybe he actually died of COVID but either way that's something that connected them is the fact that her dad had type 1 diabetes, Luke has type 1 diabetes, and everyone's like, oh my god, stop talking about it, doesn't matter. And I'm like, wait, I feel like that connection actually, like it's kind of, I don't know, I can see why that's a meaningful connection for them.
9:36Sophie Ross:But I don't know, is that just me? No, right. And I think it goes along with her, like her numerology, her woo-woo spirituality. She's kind of about, which is part of her brand or whatever her company might be or something. So I think it definitely makes sense for her and that she truly believes there is some sort of otherworldly power that brought him into her life. So I think that she is really holding on to that. But I hope that doesn't blind her from the ways in which they are different and how they might not work, that that might be blinding her from reality, so to speak. Totally. Yeah. What did you think of Annie and Nick's breakup?
10:16up nick is a non-human person i don't also i get annie and mad i get all the blonde people mixed up and everyone has the same like genre of white girl or white boy name that i like really can't keep track of people i need name tag every single time but he is besides even all the like the homophobic stuff that we saw in the pods like i was at kb he was like oh that's what he looks like Like that's a lizard person.
10:47Sophie Ross:I think it was Allie. Allie. Allie. Okay. He has, he has lizard eyes. She is so right. Right. When she said that, I don't know. I used to be, this is such a tangent. I used to be obsessed with like conspiracy theory videos on YouTube and about people being lizard human hybrids. It just like dumb stuff like that when I was younger. And he looks exactly like those people that people suspect are half lizard or like alien of some sort. And the way it's like also not just his looks, his lovely piercing greenish blue eyes, but also the way he speaks is very robotic and like chat chippy tea. And it is so bizarre, but it's a treat.
11:27I love watching it. Nonetheless, it's it's his aura. And he's like he's trying so hard to be this perfect person. And it's it's coming off just the complete opposite. And obviously everyone really doesn't like him. It seems like the guys. Yeah.
11:44Sophie Ross:Yeah. But what was so interesting about their breakup is that he literally was he handled it really well. In my opinion, he was very matter of fact about it. He was like, yeah, basically what happened was and I remember actually watching this and being like, shut the fuck up when they were drunk or Annie was drunk. She seems, you know, like she maybe I don't want to speculate, but maybe has a problem with drinking. She's really drunk and being like, but I love you more than you love me. I love you. I love you. She said it 300 times. Imagine being like the cameraman filming that. I was like, shut the fuck up.
12:18Sophie Ross:And so the next day Nick was like, I can't do this. Like that, that was just my, I need to draw the line there. It's not going to work. I don't want to get married. I'm not happy. We're not doing this. And she was like, come on, Nick, come on. Can I convince you? I was like, what are you doing? He made it very clear that he doesn't want to marry you. Why are you begging him? Yeah. Yeah. And I don't know if part of me also, they all seem so drunk all the time. I'm like, do the producers just keep feeding them like white wine or something that makes them cry and just be sloppy? Because how it seems like they are, some of them are incoherent.
12:57And I'm like, this is like kind of concerning that they're just videotaping this. I'm like, I don't know if she knows what's going on. But, and I don't know if they refilm that break, because I know they refilm a couple of breakups and things like that if they happen off camera, if that was the case with them too. Cause I know there's some speculation about that and with her and Maddie and Joe's breakup that they're like, okay, we just need to get the shot. So keep saying that. So she kept like just repeating the same thing over and over. I don't know. Oh my God.
13:24Sophie Ross:It was so crazy. He was like, yeah, I want to break up. I don't want to get married. And she was like, but what if you just married me anyway? Come on, take a chance. Like what is happening? What is in the fucking water in Denver. It was insane. And then you have Madison and Joe, like we said, there's been a lot of speculation that, and I, I think that this was not a secret watching it. I think it was obvious that they had already had a conversation because it opens up with her calling like her mom or something and being like, Joe left. That's right. She was like, Joe left. And he's just like in the kitchen.
13:58Sophie Ross:So they also had another conversation on camera where he was like, I am just not, you're not the girl for me, which is really you could tell that she was like super, super, super heartbroken. And she again was like, OK, well, like what what is it? What is it about me? And he was like, you're just not the one like, why are you like, no, what what answer are you looking for here? And then she said, if the wedding wasn't involved, could we work like if we were if we just went to dating and not have to worry about the pressures of the wedding? And he was like, no. and to all of us viewers it's been pretty obvious and he even said so that madison is not his type after the reveal this was the one where it was like okay he was very disappointed by her physical appearance but she also has done some interviews where she has said that he was different off camera he was way more lovey-dovey because we're all like how do you not see that he's not that into you.
14:57Sophie Ross:But apparently he was different off camera. I don't know. Either way, that made me sad once again that Madison was begging him. Like Madison and Annie, I'm like, what? Where's the self-respect? Right. And for these actual boys. Yeah. Little, little, little boys. I haven't listened to it, but Joe's current girlfriend did like a podcast with Storytime with Ricky. Do you know story time with Rikki she does like a lot of love is blind like little yeah yeah yeah no I saw like a little something about it but then I was like I was like wait who is this she was she on the show yeah no new girlfriend his new girlfriend I'm like why are we supposed to care about her yeah yeah oh also did you see the tea that Madison speaking of podcast Madison did a podcast which I also didn't listen to my interest in love is blind just kind of dissipates as soon as I turn off the TV and talk about it on the podcast.
15:55Sophie Ross:Otherwise I'm not seeking out information about these insane people, but Madison said that Casey and Joe, when they went to the bar and that's why during the breakup, she referenced, Hey, this is very suspicious that it's happening after we met up with a bunch of the singles at the bar or other, other, what do they call them? The pod squad, the pod squad. And she said that Casey was all over Joe and that Casey and Joe actually ended up having a fling after Madison and Joe broke up. Yes, we I did see this. And I one of them was also on Nick Nick Vialli's podcast, too. I remember watching that because, you know, but yes, I did see that.
16:36And that makes so much more sense. And I almost wish she verbalized that on camera because, you know, we can kind of see Casey doing that, it seems based on what we've seen so far from her.
16:48Sophie Ross:Yeah. And Madison also on this podcast, I just read the recap again. I didn't listen to it. But Madison said that her and Joe actually went out again after Love is Blind and ended up making out. And Joe like cried and then he ghosted her. so again yeah just where is the self-respect you know yeah and he can I mean he doesn't even complete a full sentence on camera so like he is he's not mature or ready enough to communicate with a woman for the rest of his life okay right exactly okay I want to jump to the Victoria's Secret fashion show really fast what were your thoughts so I I mean I didn't watch it but I saw all the chatter around it because also like how do how does one watch it what I don't know I do people watch it I didn't hear anything about it until I guess it happened there was no marketing yeah and isn't that the whole point is to market the products yeah it's like they're trying they're trying they're trying to be like we're change we've changed we're not like this we're not like that.
17:59And it's like so much. And it's like, but does anyone care? Do you care? Not really.
18:05Sophie Ross:People do like, I feel like something that they did right was they had a bunch of influencers at the show filming a bunch of TikTok. So I feel like it took over my for you page and my Instagram feed immediately after. But yeah, before the show happened, I had no idea was happening. Where was the marketing? Where was the marketing? But I like that you wrote down here that Bella seems to be better. She had a really good spray tan. I did see at the end, she was kind of like struggling with her like wings that looked really heavy. I think the wings were just too heavy. I don't know if that's related to her health or anything.
18:47But yeah, she was just at that wellness facility, not looking so great.
18:52Sophie Ross:So that was a nice recovery. Yeah, I want to get a hold of her doctor to see if he can maybe they can cure me too, because it seems like they really know their stuff or whoever she saw in Europe because she's suddenly in a beacon of health. Yeah, whatever tubes and stuff were like in her arms. They really did wonders. Yeah, through tears, through tears. Okay, I'm sorry. Also, Amelia Gray's walk and her Luke. yes Amelia Gray is also just so she well she scares me too in different ways than than than Miss Belle Miss Bella um and Yolande do but I'm like she would just I she is like bullying me through the screen I like if I ever if I ever meet her but she yeah she stomped on that runway with her booty out her cheeks on display um she obviously is beautiful and looked great people were making fun of her stomp but you know I don't know I'd be stomping too I guess it was also so funny because they put her in the this outfit if you guys aren't familiar that looked like a normal like sheer mini dress in the front and then she turns around it's completely open her asses out with this tiny like g-string thong and everyone was like wait what it was like of all the booties to put in that outfit like Amelia Grease we were like wait what It just, it's like turn and you're like, whoa, hello.
20:21Sophie Ross:I mean, everyone looked amazing. So I feel like the production value was really high. And it's just interesting because they went through, Victoria's Secret went through this rebrand where we're living in a different world. It's not, we don't just want to see the same thin, same old models. And there was that. What even was the scandal with Victoria's Secret? Oh gosh. I think they're like CEO is like a creep or something. something like that and also yeah just being stick thing wasn't in fact that body type wasn't in fashion anymore and they try to go completely opposite in the other direction and then some people are like no people are mad about everyone's gonna get mad either way and this time they also brought in like a real designer who also used to work with savage by fenty so that's why i feel it kind of did have that a similar vibe to Rihanna's fashion show, which I think is they're trying to kind of use her popularity and use the popularity of how inclusive that show was.
21:23But her show was, in my opinion, more authentically that because that is her brand versus Victoria's Secret trying to change every two seconds.
21:30Sophie Ross:Right. And it also still didn't. So it's like they went through that rebrand, but it didn't feel that it felt kind of like old Victoria's Secret, which I feel like people felt nostalgic towards. They were like, oh my God, it feels like we're so back. It's like the, the gorgeous conventionally attractive, stunning thin models. There was some body diversity for sure, but overall it felt like kind of, yeah. In the original angels, you had Jasmine Tukes actually who opened the show nine months pregnant, which was like beautiful, but, uh, yeah, it kind of just like, I was like, what rebrand? I know they rebranded, but I'm like, it doesn't it doesn't feel like are they reverting back to old Victoria's Secret is this supposed to be the new Victoria's Secret I genuinely don't know but I mean it was like all over my feed so it got its job done I guess even though none of us knew was happening Emrata looked insane and all she's been doing is posting pictures of herself on the runway and videos of herself on the runway and once again I'm like Emrata you look amazing but like are you are you you know I thought I I thought you were ashamed of your body.
22:40Right. No. Yeah. She's actually a huge feminist. I think you forget that she is more than her body. Even the book is called My Body. My body.
22:52Sophie Ross:Listen to our Emrata episode. I have a lot of complicated feelings about Emrata. And the fact that she has a lot of thoughts about how men perceive her body, but not how women perceive her body. because I even was looking at these pictures and videos. I was like, yeah, I fucking hate myself. We're so back. We are so back. I saw all the viral tweets being like, this is my dinner tonight after watching the Victoria's Secret fashion show. It's a bowl of ice. Like, yeah, we're back. So not great. Not great. I want to quickly change the subject. Unless, wait, is there anything else from VSFS? Nah, we covered.
23:32We covered.

25:48Sophie Ross:I'm sorry. That's my conspiracy theory. No, I think you are so correct about saying that. But yeah, like we said, I feel like men, I understand why women in Hollywood, especially feel the pressure to keep up and get these facelifts. Do I love that about our society? no but men literally can just age and still look hot bradley cooper looked hot at whatever his age is hold on let me like some would say the hottest man ever like you don't have to be doing all that they get more rugged with age silver fox they just get the wrinkles make them more rugged and more hot and like your acting is better it's like you can see the emotion in your face you can see the life that whatever character you're playing has lived through those everything in your face so it's like why would you want to take that away and become lizard like lizard like he looks fucking awful you guys it's like just extremely jarring also olivia is an actor so she would know what it takes yeah i know what it takes so i'm coming for you i'm coming for you bradley You're coming for his thought.
27:08I don't have a bluff yet.
27:10Sophie Ross:You don't have a bluff yet. Yeah, hire me, you guys. Nothing makes you appreciate good bedding more than a hot summer night, especially when your air conditioning is broken like ours was recently. I don't want to talk about it. Having something that's lightweight, breathable, cool, and easy to sleep in, no matter how hot it gets, is so freaking important. That's why I love Quince. It's a night go-to for bedding for so long now, with high-quality materials like 100 % European linen and organic cotton. You can literally feel the difference. I love waking up not sweaty. Quince has everything you need to make your bed feel cooler, lighter, and more comfortable for summer.
27:45Sophie Ross:From breathable sheets to linen, shams, and duvet covers in soft, seasonal colors, relaxed stripes, and timeless neutrals. My absolute favorite is their 100 % organic cotton percale sheets and duvet cover. The material is so crisp and comfy and even has a cooling effect, which is obviously perfect for those hot summer nights. I also love the look of it. It's a soft gray gingham and just has this classic look that instantly elevates our bedroom. And I love knowing that we're sleeping on 100 % cotton and not some cheap polyester blend. I also love their mulberry silk pillowcases and eye masks. They help keep your hair smooth and skin hydrated overnight because they don't absorb your natural oils like other materials do.
28:21Sophie Ross:Quince bedding is made for literal beauty sleep, you guys. And in case you need a reminder, everything at Quince is 50 to 80 % less than similar brands because they work directly with ethical manufacturers and cut out the middleman. 28:54Sophie Ross:And if it doesn't, it's not because you have bad taste. It might just be a budget problem. Well, Wayfair fixes that. This is my sixth apartment in 12 years in New York City, which is crazy to think about. So when you move that much, you become less and less enthusiastic about spending money on new pieces. Of course, I still want my apartment to feel chic and elevated, but knowing it's not my forever home makes it hard to want to splurge. That's why I've turned to Wayfair for home upgrades for over a decade now. I'm obsessed with my latest purchase. it sounds kind of silly, but we were previously throwing our laundry in an open laundry bin that just ended up looking messy and cheap in the corner of our bedroom.
29:28Sophie Ross:It became an absolute eyesore. So I searched for closed wicker laundry bins on wafer that could hide the mess and add like a chic beachy touch to our bedroom. And I found the perfect one for under$100. It seriously was such an upgrade to our bedroom aesthetically and functionally. It's hard to even describe it or put it into words. And it's little purchases like that that can make all the difference in your space. Ready to upgrade your home for way less? Head to Wayfair.com right now to shop all things home and get your space ready for less. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R.com.
30:01Christy Noel:Wayfair, every style, every home. The weather has been beautiful lately, which means I'm pretty much always out and about doing things. Errands, workouts, beach days, you name it. And of course, I need clothes that can actually keep up with all of that. That's why I joined Fabletics as a VIP. It completely changed how I shop and refresh my wardrobe when it needs an upgrade. New VIPs unlock major savings on their first purchase, so stocking up on practical, comfortable, and cute pieces doesn't feel like some major splurge. When I signed up as a new VIP with Fabletics, I got 70-80 % off everything.
30:34Christy Noel:It made it super easy to grab multiple matching sets, shorts, tanks, and lounge pieces for summer without overthinking it. And genuinely, you guys, the quality is so good. Fabletics pieces feel like ultra luxe activewear you'd expect from those other high-end brands, you know the ones, but without the hefty price tag. These pieces are built to actually last, and I love that for me. My absolute favorite piece I've gotten is the anywhere cropped bra tank. It's the perfect workout top that I can throw on for a workout or to just record, run errands, go to lunch, everything in between. I love how easy getting dressed is with Fabletics and how put together I look without having to actually think about it.
31:08Christy Noel:Shop now at fabletics.com slash snark to get 70 to 80 % off everything when you sign up as a new VIP. This summer, Prime Video takes you back before Legally Blonde, before law school, and into the world of Elle Woods in high school. Set in 1995, this Gemini vegetarian knows exactly who she is.
31:40Sophie Ross:Until her family moves from Bel Air to Seattle. Packed with iconic fashion, 90s nostalgia, and a throwback soundtrack, Elle proves one thing. Law school was hard. High school was harder. From the world of Legally Blonde, watch Elle, a new original series only on Prime Video. Watch now. Something that I know we're both interested in is the Ariana Beerman and Hudson breakup news from NextGenNYC. I know that we're both devastated about this. Yes, I was really rooting for them. We were all rooting for them. And Hudson just seems so genuine and cute and like they really liked each other because they're high school sweethearts, right?
32:21Sophie Ross:Are they high school sweethearts? I didn't know that. Or they like at least have known each other since they were really young. So it made me feel like, okay she's not just dating him because he's like a billionaire son or whatever and some blind items about him too right yeah bad behavior yeah so there were some rumors that he may have cheated and i saw one rumor again this is all alleged these are random blind items on the internet about a d-list bravo liberty but so take it with a grain of salt he may have had a threesome with one of Ariana's best friends is what I saw. So Hudson, what are you doing?
33:06Sophie Ross:What are you doing, Hudson? I'm sad about this, obviously. But yeah, what's going to happen to their fashion brand, Adored Angels? Yeah, like I was awaiting the launch of Adored Angels. And now I'm like, wait, I don't if Hudson has some equity in the company, I don't want to be supporting that cheater. But I hope that she can still get it off the ground without Hudson there. I mean, that's I feel like no one is covering this. What's happened to Adored Angels? The way that some people were anticipating the Victoria's Secret fashion show, we were anticipating the debut of Adored Angels. No, I've been training so I could be a model for Adored Angels fashion show in Paris next year.
33:49So I'm like, that's still on the table. Oh, they're going to be in Paris fashion week. Yeah. No, it's way better than New York.
33:57Sophie Ross:All right. Yeah. They're more highbrow. So they actually just started. I'm so happy about this. They just started filming next year in NYC season two. So I feel like we're going to get all the tea on the breakup while it's fresh. And then also Ariana said that she just moved in with Riley, which is I think is really adorable. Yeah, I love them together. I love both. Yeah, I love Ariana, too. I don't know. I just think she's very authentic and she's not trying to like fit the NYC cool girl mold or anything. She's just very much herself. Same with Riley. They're not trying to. Yeah. She's bringing her Atlanta self up to NYC.
34:35I completely agree.
34:37Sophie Ross:What do you want to talk about next? We have so much on our list. I know. I know. Maybe quickly. I don't know if you care about Selena and Haley. I mean, there's always something that people find within whatever. But Haley was asked, I think I want to say Wall Street Journal, something that was behind a paywall, so I didn't read it, but support journalists. Anyway, that Haley was asked about her road products now being at Sephora and about because also Selena Gomez's makeup is there too, Rare beauty. And she was asked about like if she feels competition with other brands, basically like hinting at Selena.
35:19And apparently her publicist was like, no, skip that question. We're not talking about Selena. But she ends up saying somewhere in the interview, I don't feel competitive with people that I'm not inspired by. And it's always annoying being pitted against other people. I didn't ask for that. And when people want to see you a certain way, they've made up a story about you in their minds. It's not up to you to change that. Anyway, it's very vague, but people, the Selena Gomez fans took that and ran with it and were like, she's trying to take a jab at Selena and saying that she's not inspired by Selena's work, basically.
35:55And so Selena then goes on her, she's been posting weird stories lately, but she posted this cryptic message on her IG and I'm going to do my Selena voice. She said, just leave the girl alone. She can say whatever she wants. doesn't affect my life whatsoever. It's just about relevance, not intelligence. Be kind. All brands inspire me. There's room for everyone, and hopefully they can all stop. And if you didn't catch that... That was really good, by the way. And if you have no idea what I said, then it's actually fine because it doesn't really mean much. But she's basically, like, responding to what Hayley was allegedly saying about her, but it also was kind of backhanded of, like, doesn't affect my life whatsoever or like it's about relevance not intelligence so no one I I don't know if anyone cares but they are just maybe just stop posting stuff Selena
36:51Sophie Ross:maybe just don't respond at all so people interpreted Haley's interview answers as a dig towards Selena which I don't know I felt like her answers were very innocuous I felt like where she says I could see the one getting this concert is that I don't feel competitive with people that I'm not inspired by but yeah I feel like maybe she's talking about I am just competitive with myself I don't know I felt like her answers were very innocuous and then Selena has to go and kind of make it messier when it doesn't need to be because I'd only heard about this when Selena posted I like was not paying attention to Haley's interview what what what interview was this like where was it I think it was Wall Street Journal or something behind that's right it was so it was written so like in that context also a journalist can take whatever quote from you and kind of place it where they want to put it and take it out similar to like reality tv editing or things like that right so who knows exactly what she was responding to but by Selena then making that Instagram story then she makes it about herself and she makes it a thing whereas like people probably like you said wouldn't have paid attention yeah otherwise probably like I don't even know she's known Sephora like okay cool like I don't yeah I don't pay attention to either their products but yeah Selina I don't know they both in terms of picking a side of like Hailey Selena I don't care for either of them at all and they both kind of bore me and this is like the only thing that's maybe interesting about them to me they're great business ladies and that's wonderful for them.
38:37But I don't really think either of them are super talented beyond having a really good brand. And that's my opinion on them.
38:44Sophie Ross:Yeah. I mean, they clearly are both extremely, extremely successful and amazing in their own right. But yeah, this is their beef is very tedious at this point. Can we can we move on? they both seen bananas in their own special ways from just their background and everything yeah and dating a bananas man so do they still follow each other on instagram oh i don't know i'm gonna check right now one moment please oh it's 11 11 make a wish i wish to get an oscar before bradley paper and to get a this rate this rate you will we're manifesting that i really hope you get an oscar before bradley cooper and serena fucking kerrigan because she's gonna win an oscar too she is honestly what would be amazing i'm in her project we win together and that's on confidence and girl power okay she's with me and she taught me everything I know.
39:47Sophie Ross:Okay. Okay. So they do not follow each other. Selina and Haley do not follow each other as of now. And I could have sworn they did at one point. So they, they may have unfollowed each other. Correct me if I'm wrong. They definitely followed each other at one point. And that was like them being like, look guys, like we're good now. But also speaking of road, I was just at Sephora and I wrote this down for my light energy objects. I love house labs. Now Olivia turned me on to house labs, which is Lady Gaga's makeup brand. I got the blush first, loved it. And then I had heard good things about the concealer and I, I'm so like picky about concealers and I've never found one that I really love.
40:26Sophie Ross:I love it. And my little, so to get my little like gift with points at Sephora, I got a little mini road cause I don't have a travel face wash and there was a road. It was like the pineapple, like milky cleanser, whatever the fuck it's called. And I got that for travel and now I'm traveling. So I'm going to use it and I will report back. You guys, I have never used road anything. So I'm kind of excited, but kind of nervous. When I'm so glad you're on the house labs train, that would be such a dream sponsor. I, as I, cause I threw away like all my makeup on my trip. Cause I just use it all. And so I came home to like a fresh box of all my new house love stuff so i got my foundation concealer their new little highlighter stick thing is also very good very creamy and milky not to be lecarian when we say lecarian we're talking about kendra lecari from the unknown number documentary and when she talks about her daughter's boyfriend making her creamy in text messages.
41:34Sophie Ross:It's not funny. It's not funny. It's so disturbing and disgusting. I'm so sorry. Forget we said that. Guys, I'm on a lot of Sudafed. I'm also on expired Coca-Cola. She literally, she has that lizard. She might become a lizard soon from whatever chemicals are. No, no, but actually, okay, wait. So something that I want to talk about that we need to talk about. Oh, gee, enemy of the pod, Nick Vile, please. Yes. I love you. Did you see this? And I just read this recap. Once again, I did not listen to the text at hand. I read it. So Nick Vile and Natalie on the Vile Files told a story about them traveling with River.
42:22Sophie Ross:They ended up being separated and in different middle seats with River, which sounds horrible. It sounds like maybe it wasn't entirely their fault. It was just bad luck that maybe, and this has happened to me before on Delta, like Delta, Henry and I will get tickets together and then we'll end up being separated for whatever reason. It happens. It's unfortunate, but it happens. So they were traveling with their toddler River and got separated, asked multiple people to trade with them and accommodate them. And they asked people that were in nearby aisle seats, window seats. They basically wanted to sit together, not be stuck in the middle with River.
43:12Everyone said no, which I completely
43:15Sophie Ross:understand. It's to be expected. Why would you, they asked people that were in aisle or window seats, several rows in front of them. So not only are they going to have to downgrade to a middle seat, but also go back further back in the plane. No one wants that. And it's completely understandable that people would say no to that. Nick and Natalie called these people assholes. it's not anyone's fault you have a child it's not anyone's fault that you i'm sorry i am monitoring that delta app up until i'm stepping on the plane to make sure i'm sitting where i want to sit because i'm very particular about that so like it's not my problem or my responsibility that you have a child that you are a parent if this is so triggering i have people in my life who are like this too and it's like they it's most of the human population they have offspring because that's how we survive as a human race.
44:10So like you're not special for having a child as you travel somewhere. And it's one thing to like ask people, sure, whatever, to then go on your podcast and call these people assholes. It's almost like, are you rage baiting? Are you trying to get clicks? Are you trying to get people to respond on their Spotify comments, which they were calling them out, which is really funny. And I read some of those too. But yeah, you having a child is none of my business. Don't make it my business.
44:37Sophie Ross:It's not their fucking business. Oh, and this is the worst part that I forgot to mention. Nick told Natalie, because again, they were separated. Nick told Natalie to make sure that River acted up and bothered the surrounding people as much as possible. Excuse me? No, the entitlement is insane. I don't even feel like it's rage made. I think that this is genuinely how entitled they are. Again, no one forced them to have a child. No one forced them to travel with a child. No one forced them to not prepare as well as possible to be traveling with their child, which if they were really, really, really prepared, they would make sure this didn't happen.
45:11Sophie Ross:It sounds like it was maybe out of their control, but figure it out. I'm sorry. Pay extra. Pay extra to sit in, I don't know, first class. They can afford it. I'm just, I'm so confused by them. They are so freaking entitled. And yeah, the comments on this Spotify episode are flaming them. Dang, there's a lack of, this is Rita Abazi. Dang, there's a lack of self-awareness Nick and Natalie have with the plain story. It's fine to ask, but you shouldn't call someone an asshole or disgusting for wanting to sit in a seat that they paid for. Correct. Mm hmm. Child as a literal weapon by saying, oh, make sure River is like annoying them.
45:48That is also like, is that insane? That's also like your child is also like a human being. It's weird. There's a lot of layers to this. And you know what? They're calling these people an asshole. The call is coming from inside the house. You are an asshole, like in every sense of the word for broadcasting. Exactly.
46:05Sophie Ross:You're the asshole. You are the asshole, babe. Oh, look in the mirror. Someone, someone named Selly commented this and I love this. When you ask for a seat swap, why don't you lead with offering to Venmo money up front? You can afford to. That's, that's also true. Pay them out. Don't expect them to just for free downgrade themselves just to accommodate you a stranger. Like the entitlement is so nuts. and someone just goes oh my god i hate your plane ride takes apparently this happens a lot where their entitlement on plane rides is like a constant on the vile files let us know you guys what's your favorite nick vile plane ride take if you are what do they call themselves the vile files listeners violent violent
46:53Sophie Ross:wait wait this one is so good okay your average man commented my favorite plane story from the pod is the one where nick got upgraded to first class and took it rather than give it to his pregnant wife but yeah the guy next to her is the selfish one that's nuts natalie was pregnant nick got upgraded to first class and he took it instead of giving it to his pregnant wife He's the fucking worst, you guys. I see a lot of discourse around Nick Faya. Obviously, we hate him. He's an OG enemy of the pod. But some people are like, why do people hate him so much? I don't understand. It's stuff like this.
47:29Sophie Ross:Like, he is the most entitled person alive. He thinks he invented being a parent. This also is really, really, really bad. From the same episode, one of his, I don't know. I don't know what to call them. They're not co-hosts. They kind of are co-hosts, I guess. You know, in the Vile Files, they have a crew of Gen Z, younger people giving their takes on stuff. I think he calls them like the household. The household. That's right. I was about to say the pod squad. Honestly, that works. That would work. So Nick Vile's personal pod squad, the household, one of those household members, her name is escaping me right now.
48:08Sophie Ross:She is childless. And I guess an extension of this conversation included Nick asking her what her purpose in life is as a non-parent and why she exists. What her reason for living is as someone who doesn't have a child. Yeah. Well, that, yeah, as a woman, I guess she's just basically non-existent if she's child. Yeah, because we're just vessels, you know? He's, and also, like, his, know your audience, dude. You can think those thoughts if that's who you are, because it seems like it is. But like your audience is mostly women. Women. No. Why would you? That's disgusting to say. Disgusting. Oh, also, I'm still just reading these comments flaming him because my favorite thing is when people tear apart Nick Vile.
48:57Sophie Ross:It was a two and a half hour plane ride. It wasn't. It was like a six, seven hour flight where they're like, we need to be together. We need both of us need to entertain River. I know that any plane ride with a child is hard. It was two and a half hours. Figure it the fuck out. I'm sorry. Just, oh my God. Don't make it my business. Don't make it my business. I didn't tell you to procreate. Do the nasty with each other. Okay? Yeah, exactly. We didn't force you guys to make the beast with two backs. That's my favorite euphemism for sex, by the way. The beast with two backs. Yeah. I love whipping that one out.
49:41Sophie Ross:Love it. But yeah, I feel like that whole conversation about asking someone who doesn't have a child what their point of being alive is, what they exist for, what they live for is so fucking disgusting and triggering. I hate him. Just everything about this is the perfect microcosm for why Nick Vile is the worst. He's the worst. God, I can't stand him. Same. Okay. really fast because there are two more things I want to talk about, but maybe we just talk about one. I'm going to have you choose. Do you want to talk about Zach Bryan maybe being engaged or Hallie Kate buying a$1.8 million Hamptons home?
50:21Zach Bryan. Okay.
50:23Sophie Ross:Let's talk about Zach Bryan. I'm glad you said that. Yeah. Hallie Kate is rich and just bought a Hamptons home. Great. Yeah. I don't. Yeah. That concludes our segment on Hallie Kate. Good job, honey.
50:36Christy Noel:Good job.
50:36Sophie Ross:So Zach Bryan, there are a lot of rumors that he is engaged to his Brianna chicken fry lookalike girlfriend who is named Samantha. Her Instagram is Samantha Layton. Apparently she has been hiding that finger in a lot of photos in really obvious ways. In one of them that I saw, they put like the location tag right over her finger on her left hand. And in other photos, people are like, that looks like an engagement ring. It looks like it snuck into some photos here and there. So a lot of rumors going around. Some people on Reddit say they have insider info and have confirmed that it actually is true that he is engaged to this girl.
51:21Sophie Ross:I mean, it is weird that she is literally Brianna Chicken Fry's doppelganger. I'm sure she's a nice girl, but like, doesn't that, don't you feel like that would, that would make me feel weird? Well, this is a pattern for him because Brianna also then started dressing like and being like the one before. And they all he yes, he like molds his ladies to his country, this country as gal. But she actually like facially like looks like BCF. It's crazy. She does. She looks just like Miss Fry. And yeah. And I don't know how long have they even been dating for that long? he's so busy he's for someone who was like i'm done with the fit like i'm gonna go to paris and be go to whatever school i was going like he's so like dramatic he's kind of like he's a diva and it's yeah he basically is a new york he's a new york city influencer in his own right no literally he's so dramatic and it's like i just wrote this song in four seconds and i'm holding a fish and this is my girl and it's like chill do this off cam we don't care but i will actually don't bring us into it yeah this is none of my business none of my business wait what's like i i any zach bryan song is escaping me right now take me down the road where the rivers all windy he just kind of as long as you're kind of whispering and then all of a sudden you You shot something.
52:52Actually, I mean, I like his songs. And they're also, I teach myself to play the ukulele. And his songs are very easy. And he sings in my key because it's just a little whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper, shout, whisper.
53:05Sophie Ross:See, that his songs are really easy to play on the guitar. So it's not as hard as it looks to you guys. Or the ukulele, but I guess same thing. Bradley, I'm coming for you. But Zach, you're next. You're in there. Be warned. Okay. OOR is coming for you. What can't she do? What can't she do? I will say his hair transplant looks fabulous. Oh, he got one? Yeah. Oh yeah. He got the Travis Kelsey spesh? Yeah. No, he did. It actually looks really good. I, you know what? Lately I've been seeing the vision more than I did. And I won't, I'm not going to say that I see the vision entirely, but I see the vision a little bit more than I did when he was with Brianna, chicken fry.
53:54You think, you think Zach's hot?
53:56Sophie Ross:No, no, no. I didn't say that. Don't put words into my mouth. I'm starting rammers. Sorry. Oh, you're looking it up. I can hear the, I can hear the clacking. Guys, I'm researching in real time. Olivia, you guys, Olivia's researching in real time. what do you think okay yeah it's subtle and good his hairline looks better it's thicker it's it's the hairline is it's it's definitely more what he needs to get a bluff next maybe no wait why does he need a bluff i'm so sick of people getting blephs i'm kidding he needs to get a bluff like bradley yeah he's gonna be like snatched next time we see him or whatever next girlfriend he has or something.
54:43No, yeah, he looks great. Good. Good for him.

56:31Sophie Ross:I actually am really sick. That's one of my dark energy objects of the week are blephs. How do you pronounce that surgery? Like an upper bleph surgery? It's basically like upper eyelid because it's a bleph of something plasty. I know someone that has gotten one because they literally needed one. They had like an overgrowth of skin on their eyeballs and they got one. And I'm like, yeah, you look exactly like yourself. Just a little more. I don't know. A little more. But it doesn't look snatched. So it's like, but people are getting them at a young age that don't need them, that don't have that extra skin.
57:09So, yeah, that's rough.
57:11Sophie Ross:I also think they look good. I mean, I think that hooded eyes also, because that's the reason that a lot of people get these bluffs, bliff, is because of the extra skin or hooded eyes, whatever it is. I think that hooded eyes are so beautiful. It's kind of like people that don't have veneers now. I'm like, wow, that's a flex that you have just like natural teeth. Like having hooded eyes now is like a flex to me. I think they're beautiful. I'm just sick of these. Like, I don't know. Like you said, some people, they look like themselves, but better. Every celebrity bluff that I've seen, I'm like, no, you didn't need that.
57:48Sophie Ross:That was not necessary. Not at all. No. And I agree. I have some hooded eyelids and they're great. Okay. I love them. I love hooded eyes. So my other dark energy objects, we're just going to move into Dio's and Elio's now. My other dark energy object of the week is the retweet button on Instagram. I really need to talk about this. I posted about this on our Instagram the other day because I could not hold it in. I was so embarrassed. I accidentally retweeted. Do you follow Jordan Sloan? No, but I know. I know who you're talking about. You're aware. So she just got married. Congrats. I'm sure she looked beautiful.
58:32Sophie Ross:She hasn't posted any like wedding photos yet, but I'm sure it's beautiful. She did post a really scary, corny black and white video of her and her now husband frolicking on the beach. And it reminds me of the wife in the beginning of the horror movie. You know what I mean? It's like everything was perfect. Yeah. It's so scary. Something about it makes me really uncomfortable. I don't like it. And everyone was like, oh my God, this is beautiful. I'm like, why? It basically was like husband and wife debut. This is us frolicking on the beach to the videographer and it's so just organic. And it's like the most contrived thing I've ever seen.
59:15Sophie Ross:I just, I think it's so cringy and corny. Anyway, I accidentally retweeted that and didn't notice for hours. Why is it so easy to press? There needs to be something done about that. On Twitter, the retweet button, you have to confirm that you're retweeting something. On Instagram, it's literally in between liking and commenting. And then if you, like sometimes I'll just be like, oh, I want to see what the comments say. and then I'll accidentally pass it. Because it's right there. It's almost like they did it on purpose, but my mom does the same thing. And it'll be like AI news that's not real or like, and it's reposted.
59:51And I have a friend that like reposted something like, because she was stalking, we're from Missouri. So we got opinions over there and she reposted something very right wing, a news event that happened recently. And she's like, oh my God.
1:00:05Sophie Ross:She's like, people might believe me. it's so bad yeah yeah I was humiliated at least that was what you reposted and it wasn't something worse so that's forgivable where it's there's some things on on instagram that are way worse it could you know what it could have been worse could have been worse that's for sure you're right You're right. But this is besides some insane like Charlie Kirk take or something really extreme. This was the second worst thing that I could retweet is Jordan Sloan's newlywed video. Right under Kirk. Right. I'm sorry. I was humiliated. So anyway, that's my dark energy object of the week.
1:00:52Sophie Ross:What's yours? Okay. So I spent some of my holiday I just went on in Portugal. which was lovely. But everywhere we went, there was this type of music that was being played. And it was like soft jazz covers of pop songs. So it'd be like espresso, but like really slow down and like jazz version. That's me. I know exactly what you're talking about. It's called like Bosa Nova style music. I don't know. Dan and I were trying to figure out we're googling this morning because there's a I think there's a word for it but like I had a nine-hour tour throughout the Douro Valley in Portugal and the car right we're in the car for like maybe three hours of that whole day and the whole time it's like that's me espresso and like please I am like my ears I would rather know nothing at all and in like the spa area at our hotel where we went to the pool or whatever and it's the whole time and I'm like what is going on or just play the normal or just don't play and let's just get some some I don't know anything else anything else it's like man child it's just Sabrina Carpenter yes
1:02:17it's all the same band or something i don't know but they're raking it in over in portugal whoever that band is that because it's the same voices over and over and over but they love it but not
1:02:26Sophie Ross:my cup of tea person oh i know exactly what you're talking about because i was just i was there the summer like is that a portugal thing or is that just like a yeah at one restaurant we were in in sardinia too and i was like dan listen it's the same cold place song it's the same but just for shit it's like come up to meet you tell you i'm sorry okay anyway i'm re-traumatized Okay. Let us move on to Elio's. I have a couple. So I need to talk about hotel beds because like I said, I'm going to Miami to crash Henry's work trip and literally I'm going for the hotel. You know that, that meme from Tim Robinson's show.
1:03:22Sophie Ross:I forgot what it's called where he's like, I think you're just here for the zip line. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm literally just going for the hotel bed. I love taut sheets. Like I love how taut they are and just the air conditioning on blast. Forensic files is my hotel room show because you know, you only have like a limited amount of like channels and content to choose from on a hotel TV. For me, it's forensic files every time. So like forensic files, taut sheets, air conditioning on blast. That's all I need in life and I'm so excited for it. Do you agree? I'm totally with you. We, cause like I said, we ended our trip at a hotel from just being an Airbnb's the whole time, basically the whole time.
1:04:08Sophie Ross:Yeah. And it was so refreshing just to go in. It's like, Ooh, pristine. Then they come and do a turndown pristine again. And I'm like, God bless all of you that made this bed because it, it really does change your like mental state. It's great. Yeah. Like I love having to like struggle to like unfurl the sheets when they're that hot. Straight jacket. Yeah. Oh my God. Oh, I love it. So I need to talk about this. I don't know. Like, I know that Christy, Christy and I actually did an episode on X knows all that we repulsed when I was on my honeymoon back in December about the Murdoch murders. Are you like up to speed on the Murdoch murders?
1:04:52Sophie Ross:Is that something that you are interested in? I am not. I know it very peripherally. But should I watch this new documentary? OK, so I love it. This new it's not a documentary, by the way. It is a scripted show called Murdoch Death in the Family on Hulu. So there are a couple documentaries that came out following the trial. But this is like the first scripted show with Patricia Arquette, actually. And Johnny, she plays Maggie Murdoch. and Johnny Birchhold. And Johnny Birchhold, I was familiar with from his like really funny skits on TikTok where he'd be like the guy in the movie that's like the jock that falls in love with the nerd.
1:05:32Sophie Ross:He would play like those niche, kind of like Delaney Rowe. And they would actually do skits together. He would just act out these other characters. So he plays Paul Burdock, Pawpaw. I think the acting is great. I think that they cast the show really well. The Alec Murdock 911 called the infamous 911 call, the actor who plays Alec Murdoch, whose name is escaping me right now, you would recognize him if you saw him. Let me just look it up really fast. He, when the show opens up with that 911 call, oh, it's Jason Clark. So the show opens with that 911 call and the way that he says it exactly like Alec Murdoch in the actual 911 call is just like insane voice work.
1:06:17Sophie Ross:I think you would appreciate it as an actor. But I think it's really good. A lot of people are like, it's not like, what else do we need to know about this story? I was talking to my dad about it because my mom and I are my mom. I'm my mother's daughter obsessed with true crime. My dad was like, what else do you need to know? You know what happens? What else do you need to know? But I think it adds some like layers and like humanization of the subjects in the story. I just I'm into it. I'm really enjoying it. Yeah. No, this cast looks stacked. I also love Trisha Arquette, Brittany Snow. Yeah, this looks really.
1:06:49Yeah.
1:06:51Sophie Ross:Brittany Snow is having like a renaissance like she was in The Hunting Wives and then she was just in. She was in something else that I just watched. What was it? She's been doing a lot of press and stuff too. So she's been on like carpets and things. She's, I mean, she doesn't age also. She's so beautiful. I swear she was just in something else. Now I can't remember. Maybe it was a trailer for something. Oh, this is bothering me. But anyway, yeah, Brittany Snow is having a Renaissance. Love her. And it was so funny. My dad, because Christy and I also, something else that we have in common is that we're both obsessed with the Titanic.
1:07:33Sophie Ross:and so is my mom and my dad was like the ship sinks like how many times do you need to watch this shit just want to make sure yeah like maybe maybe it changed okay my last leo i you know what i'm in a good mood this week i have a lot of light energy objects my last leo is home dermaplaning do you dermaplane your face with one of those little razors yes i actually have an electric one called Derma Flash that my mom put me on years ago. I have Italian face skin hair. So like, it's like I weigh a pound lighter after I do it. Literally. So I've tried, I've tried the electric one before. I love just doing the manual one because I just peel the peach fuzz off.
1:08:26Sophie Ross:It's just so satisfying. It's just my favorite thing to do. And I got a new one the other day. And so it's like fresh and sharp. And obviously you have to be careful. I've actually cut myself before while dermal cleaning. But it made my face like more smooth than it's ever been, which also makes makeup application better. It just my face is so smooth right now. I'm obsessed with dermal cleaning. I'm obsessed with getting the peach fuzz off my face. I highly recommend it, you guys. If you don't, if this isn't part of your routine. I mean, if you don't have peach fuzz like us, I'm also like you're Italian.
1:08:59Sophie Ross:I'm Jewish. We're hairy. so maybe you don't have to worry about this literal globs because I like oil my face before I do yeah and like it's like globs or it's disgusting there's like a creature on my no I like family table after I'm fully like shaving my beard and like my goatee my mustache Dan will be like you look different and I'm like it's because I don't have like my five o 'clock shadow anymore wait had Marie said that too I was like okay now I know that it works like your skin looks so much better like we look so clear. I'm like, it's just, that's hair. That's hair, baby. Okay. What are your light energy objects of the week?
1:09:38Yes. So Clayton Eckerd from The Bachelor, if you're familiar. I didn't watch his season, mind you. I think I saw maybe his finale because my mom was watching it or something. He's from Missouri, fellow Missourian, whatever. I don't know much about his personal life. He posts a lot of dance videos of himself dancing. He started going to lessons a couple years ago. I've been following this. And his videos he posts on Instagram, TikTok, everything bring me so much joy. I try to comment on every single one in support. He makes these really good, like high quality videos, but it's like the most basic moves.
1:10:13It's really like, I'm like, I'm with you. It's not intimidating. It's like, he's not trying to be a professional dancer. He just does it for fun, but makes these incredible videos, makes a whole fit. He's in like bedazzled pants all the time. And I'm like, where did you get his pants? He interacts with his fans in the comments, aka me. I'll be like, did you make those pants? They're sick. He's like, no, they're from here. I'm like, can I borrow them? He didn't respond to that one. But you need to watch these videos of him. It is so good. And people make fun of him and he claps back. And it's almost like a, it's a great way to get engagement, honestly.
1:10:46I'm like, this is kind of smart. And his whole thing is like not being good, but like having a very serious face while he's doing it. It's amazing. It's great content. I recommend his videos.
1:10:57Sophie Ross:I love how you're like the one I always wonder, like, who is keeping these ex bachelor stars relevant? And it's you. You're like commenting, engaging. I'm reposting. I'm clicking the repost on purpose. Repost spreading the joy to others. I actually didn't watch his season either. Obviously, there is a lot of lore when it comes to Clayton and his false paternity accusations. I don't even, it's like, what do you call that? False paternity accusations. We have gotten so many requests lately to do a Clayton episode. So maybe we have to, but I don't know. Olivia, will you be able to be unbiased? Wait, I have to, yeah.
1:11:43Like ethically, I don't know if I can take this project on. like my journalistic ethics tell me otherwise i'll have to really separate the art from the artist you know oh my god i fucking can't he brings me so much joy if you need a smile clean eckert put it in the search bar okay he has so many great dance videos and secondly my light energy object i finally finished this book i've been reading for a year um because i only really read it when I'm on vacation or something or like on the beach. But and I was supposed to give a copy to you, Sophie, but I forgot. But because I have two copies, but I have it here.
1:12:22It's Q the Sun by Emily Nussbaum. It won the Pulitzer Prize. It is the invention of reality TV. It gives like a full history from like the radio days up until now. And basically how how did we elect a reality television star as the president of our country? Like it's like how influential the reality television space is on culture and how people's attitudes have changed about it and a lot about just production and the rights of the writers of the shows and things like that. It kind of argues for some sort of union for reality TV. But it's a really, really good book if you're interested in reality television.
1:13:00It is a must read. It's pretty dense. Took me a long time to finish, but it's really well written by this gal. She's very, very, very smart and I need to give you a copy.
1:13:11Sophie Ross:So I know I'm, I'm really excited to read that. Thank you for lending me a copy as soon as I see you next time, which by the way, I keep talking about how I'm going to soft bar because my coworkers and I have made plans to go to soft bar week after week. And then it never ends up happening for whatever reason. So like, I need to go to soft bar. You guys, I think Olivia and I need to go because Olivia is New York based. I think that we need to just take one for the team and schlep to Greenpoint and go to Softbar Boots on the Ground and give our review. What do you say? What do you say, kid? I was literally just thinking about, like, did it open?
1:13:47And then I looked it up. And I'm like, I didn't realize it was, maybe I did know this, that it was also a cafe. So it's open, like, in the morning. You can go whenever. Like, you can just get a coffee. No, I mean, it's basically like, yeah, it's like a cafe.
1:14:02Sophie Ross:Pretty much. so you might catch me if anyone wants to catch me researching in the in real time I might set up shot pits so far honestly that's not a bad idea and you can get like a mindful mushroom drink too and then I'll be like so mindful the rest of the day and yeah I'm excited yeah I know we need to put that on the cow for sure okay I see your last light energy object is the life of a showgirl Please explain yourself. I shall. So I'm someone who, right when she released an album, I can't listen to it right away. There's too much discourse. I can't listen to anyone talk about it, blah, blah, blah, because people influence how I feel about it.
1:14:44And I was also on a trip, wasn't paying attention. Finally got around to really listening to it. Decided I like it, because usually in the first couple listens, I don't like anything ever. And then after a while, I'm like, oh, this is now crack cocaine. And I listen to it all the time. So that happened to me, and I really like it. And I want to say to those who hate it, I know there's a lot of people that hate it. A lot of people that don't like Taylor right now. They're like, I'm like, please, please keep hating it. Please. She has too many fans. There's too many of us. Okay. Her tickets to her show are too damn expensive.
1:15:18I can't go through this again. Like I did at the heiress tour, like me wanting to need to fly overseas to see her because it's cheap. Like that is ridiculous. is. She needs less fans. Please, I support you if you don't like the album. Please keep not liking it. I've already gone through this with Lady Gaga this year. She's become too big. And did I spend a lot of money on her tickets still? Yes. I need less people to like the people I like because then I can see them more. So I am pro. I'm in support. If you do not like the life of a show girl, keep it up and spread the word, OK? Because I like it and I want to get a ticket that's not a million dollars.
1:15:52And that is my tangent on that.
1:15:56Sophie Ross:Yeah, no, that is certainly a take. Now, I completely respect. I feel like a lot of people have defended the life of a showgirl, because as you guys know, I'm not a huge fan of this album. I love a lot of Taylor's music. It just never it never grew on me. I kept I actually did keep listening to it. Like I tried and it It never really grew on me. But yeah, I feel like as a tried and true Swifty like yourself, I feel like that is such a good point about she got way too popular at one point when the Arrow store was happening after Folklore and Evermore. If she becomes less popular, I think it's better for her diehard fans for sure.
1:16:38Sophie Ross:But I will take you to task on Father Figure being one of your favorite songs. And also Elizabeth Taylor. Elizabeth Taylor. I mean, like, guys, this is the same chick that wrote, shake it off, take it off. Like, what are we expecting? She wrote that that was her number one hit ever is Shake It Off. And that is the worst song I've ever heard in my life. So, like, it's like, yeah, she's being silly. She's being witty and pretty. Are you on? I love that song. I love the titular song, too. I love the titular song. Are you on, like, Fedora TikTok? talk. Yeah. When they're like, did you girl boss too close to the sun?
1:17:22I can't stop saying that. I can't stop.
1:17:24Sophie Ross:Oh my God. I was at the office last week with my coworkers and I kept saying it so much that everyone was like, shut the fuck. This is why when I go to my office job, you guys, I am the exact same person. I don't shut up. And people are like, actually, I need to get work done. Shut the fuck up. But I'm like, did you girl boss too close to the sun? the song it's a great question but too much fun it's so funny it's so funny and it like it makes me like it i'm like okay i like don't like this song but now i kind of like it because it's funny i also just love when people hate stuff i usually love it more so i'm like it's so funny i love it i love it and it's so her she's so cringy all of our listeners are going to be like okay olivia replace Sophie forever because well they might come for me for being like continue the hate but I'm like continue the hate please do it I think I think that makes sense that makes sense okay guys we gotta wrap it up I know that we had a lot to cover today but it's too close to the sun right there we girl was too close to the sun I think and they caught us having far too much fun this is why you can't have a succinct podcast episode I'm like let's wrap it up So thank you guys for listening.
1:18:43Sophie Ross:Thank you, Olivia, for stepping in as co-host today. You did an incredible job. Thank you to Jordan and Rachel and Christy, who we miss dearly right now. Follow us at snarkbait pod. I am at sofa underscore Ross. Christy is at Christina. Well, underscore underscore. She will be back for our Patreon episode on Wednesday and our Thursday episode, obviously. And I'm trying to think, am I missing anything? I don't, I don't think so. I think that's it. Thank you guys so much for listening and we'll see you next time. Thank you guys. Thanks for having me. Bye.
1:19:39Sophie Ross:Nothing makes you appreciate good bedding more than a hot summer night, especially when your air conditioning is broken like ours was recently. I don't want to talk about it. Having something that's lightweight, breathable, cool, and easy to sleep in, no matter how hot it gets, is so freaking important. That's why I love Quince. It's been my go-to for bedding for so long now, with high-quality materials like 100 % European linen and organic cotton. You can literally feel the difference. I love waking up not sweaty. Quince has everything you need to make your bed feel cooler, lighter, and more comfortable for summer.
1:20:09Sophie Ross:From breathable sheets to linen shams and duvet covers in soft, seasonal colors, relaxed stripes, and timeless neutrals.
1:20:45Sophie Ross:Quince bedding is made for literal beauty sleep, you guys. And in case you need a reminder, everything at Quince is 50 to 80 % less than similar brands because they work directly with ethical manufacturers and cut out the middleman. And if it doesn't, it's not because you have bad taste.
1:21:21Sophie Ross:It might just be a budget problem.
1:21:52Sophie Ross:It became an absolute eyesore.
1:22:25Christy Noel:Wayfair, every style, every home. The weather has been beautiful lately, which means I'm pretty much always out and about doing things. Errands, workouts, beach days, you name it. It's the perfect workout top that I can throw on for a workout or to just record, run errands, go to lunch, everything in between.
