In short

Snarkbait’s “Dark Energy Tuesday” returns with updates and commentary on pop culture: Love Island’s finale (season 8), Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce’s wedding, and Summer House casting/rumors.

Guests

No episode guests. Hosts are Sophie and Christy (with mentions of other podcast hosts/people: Rachel, Olivia, and “Trigger Warning” Ryan Bailey).

Key claims

  • Love Island season 8 was “boring” because the core four (Melanie, Kada, Anaya, Trinity) stayed loyal to day-one men, undermining the show’s purpose of exploring.
  • Trinity and Bryce were the “pure” winners; Zach’s insecurity and manipulation harmed Kata’s confidence; Sincere was “whack” because he lied while claiming he wanted to explore.
  • Taylor Swift’s wedding felt tacky/extra and not private: rumored buffet logistics, long vows with standing guests, raffles/Chanel giveaways, and the “Just TNT married” MSG billboard.
  • Summer House: Bobby Westside (Adonis CEO) is rumored/feared as a cast addition; Remy Bader rumors are dismissed.

Notable examples

  • Carousel vacation: oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere (founded in the 1600s), Shabbat missed, and Rachel Hawkins thrillers.
  • UFC: Conor McGregor fight lasted 59 seconds; hosts call him a “disgusting rapist.”
  • Summer House rumored cast: Sierra, Mia, KJ, Carl, Lindsay, Kyle, Bailey, Jesse.

0:00I have literally always been obsessed with Ruggable and rave about Ruggable to whoever listens, which is why I was thrilled and shocked when I found out they were going to sponsor the pod. My kitchen runner, foyer runner, outdoor balcony rug, and living room rug are all Ruggable. I'm not exaggerating. Not only do they have the chicest designs for whatever you're looking for, whether your style is boho, modern, classic, the rugs are both stain-resistant and machine-washable. This is key for me as a New Yorker with a dog. You don't even want to know what kind of city sludge he can drag into the house on any given day.

0:33But with Ruggable, you don't have to worry about professional carpet cleaners or big machines. You can just throw it in the wash and it comes out looking as high quality as the day you got it. It's truly a game changer. Oh, and the non-slip backing that every single one of the rugs has, also key for having a dog with the zoomies. So they're functional for high traffic homes, yes, but they're also fashionable. I truly take pride in my interior design skills and my guests always compliment my rugs. Thanks, Ruggable. Love ya. And so happy you're a sponsor now. Refresh your home at Ruggable.com. Get 10 % off your first order site-wide with promo code SNARK at Ruggable.com.

From the world of Legally Blonde, watch Elle, a new original series only on Prime Video. Watch now. Hey, everybody. Welcome back to Snarkbait. I'm Sophie. I'm Christy. And this is Sophie and I's first recording in two weeks for Dark Energy Tuesday. It feels like we've been so long, doesn't it?

2:30Yeah, it feels like it's been. Well, we recorded What's the Snark end of last week. So this isn't our first recording together, but this is the first time you guys are hearing us together again for, you know, it's been a minute. So I'm excited to be back. I don't know about you, but it feels good to be back. It does. regularly scheduled programming from here on out. How was your past couple of days? Past couple of days were good. Had a very low-key weekend in the city. Yeah. Because we just got back on Wednesday from Carousel, which was absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend Carousel. It was gorgeous.

3:08Has a cute little town called Willemstead. And then also just beautiful, beautiful beaches, amazing food, amazing restaurants. This was kind of my first trip where I was like going off of TikTok recommendations, which I don't know why I never done before. Like I found the best recommendations from TikTok. And yeah, it was just beautiful. I highly recommend. The weather was like perfect the entire time, almost too perfect because I got sunburn. But yeah, it was absolutely stunning. So definitely felt refreshed after my vacation. Thank you so much for holding down the fort. And thank you to Rachel and Olivia for holding down the fort.

3:45Couldn't have done it without you guys. And I can't wait for you to take a vacation so I can return the paper. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. No, thank you also for subbing in for me the following week. What was your favorite activity when you were there? Did you guys want to be like excursions or were you kind of just laying out? Yeah. So actually, I mean, this isn't that interesting to people, I feel like, but it might be. The oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere is in Carousel. And it actually was founded in the 1600s when Jews in Spain were escaping the Spanish Inquisition. So that was something we didn't realize when we booked the trip.

4:24And then we were doing research on activities. We're like, whoa, this is so cool. Like, obviously, Henry and I are both Jewish. We're like, this is awesome. So we did a tour of that synagogue. The entire floor is sand, which is really cool. They still do Shabbat services every Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, we missed it because we got there and we didn't realize that it was happening. and then we were gone by Wednesday. Right. So we didn't get to go, but that would have been awesome. And then they also have a really cool Jewish museum. And the town Willemstead is, it has a lot of Dutch influences.

4:52The architecture is really beautiful and it's just exploring the town was really cool. And then also just laying on my ass on the beach. Those are, I mean, I had a little bit of everything. You know, I love to explore and you know, I love to lay on my ass. And I, you know, I wrote this in the newsletter. I finished three books. Wow. So finally had time to read. What are the books? I need some book recs. So they were all by Rachel Hawkins. And they're kind of like mindless thrillers, but fun thrillers. So Reckless Girls is one of them. And the other one was The Storm. And then the other one was The Wife Upstairs.

5:24And they're all kind of just like, ooh, what's going to happen? What's the murder mystery? And yeah, highly recommend. If you like Lucy Foley or like Lisa Jewell type of thrillers, you will enjoy. So that was fun. Well, that sounds like something I desperately, desperately need. I would love a tropical vacation. I think it's time. I'm thinking of going to Croatia in September when it's like less warm or less humid and I think hopefully less tourists. Oh, I feel like that'll be a perfect time to go in September. September is low key like the best time to go to Europe because it's like past the peak tourist season, but the weather is still amazing.

6:03Right, right. So I'm hoping to do that. I haven't booked anything yet, but I think this first half of the year was very busy for a multitude of reasons. So I think I definitely want to take some time off to, like you said, sit on my ass because I think we all, all the baby snarks included are definitely allowed to do that and we should do that. So you are inspiring me. Okay. Should we get right into it? I was like, I don't really have much to say. My last couple of weeks have been pretty boring. So yeah. Wait, how was your weekend? Any updates? Honestly? Oh, okay. Something that I did do that I'm sure the baby snarks, maybe some can relate to or did.

6:44I watched the UFC fight with Conor McGregor. What? That's so random of you. I know. Why? Did you like, what was it on? Did you have to like buy it? No, so I went to a sports bar with two of my friends and we just went and watched it. But for anyone that did watch it, it actually ended up being the hugest miss because Conor McGregor was in the cage for 59 seconds. And Paisley was the most anticlimactic thing. Men are so dramatic. The way that Louis Holloway and Conor McGregor came out in their entrance, all the lights were out. The smoke was billowing from the cage. There was Irish music playing on the sound system.

7:23It was so drama. Like men try to say that we as women are dramatic. Like you're dramatic. You come out with this like cage fighting like anthem. It was so lame. But I mean all the fights leading up to the UFC fight were certainly violent and graphic. And it was so. That's so random. It was like Coliseum. That's so random. Conor McGregor deserves to be in prison. So I was very excited that that happened. Likewise. A hundred percent. Yeah, he's a fucking disgusting rapist. I had no idea of all of this until after. And I was talking to my sister and I'm like, oh, tell Ross that I'm watching Conor McGregor because he's Irish.

7:57She's like, me and Ross hate him now because of everything. I was like, oh, I didn't even know. So he's awful. Yeah, he's awful. So that was very, very, very satisfying. 100%. Not that I watched it, but seeing the news afterwards, I was like, you know what? Great. Bravo to Lewis Holloway. Thank you for allowing Conor McGregor to blow his knee out and hopefully never get to cage fight ever again. Yeah, absolutely. That was my weekend. I need to quickly talk about Love Island because the finale aired. And I just have to say, I regret ever saying season eight topped season six. I heard you babysat saying Christy has the worst takes in movies and television history.

8:37Like, I get it. I deserve this one. I will take the L. Season eight was so awful. I think it only was good when, of course, the beginning of Casa Amor, when the men were actually open to exploring. And then two days later, they weren't. So then it ended up being such a total bust. But I think the problem with season eight was that no one was willing to explore. And fundamentally, that is the entire purpose of Love Island is to explore various connections. And people are calling it the core four. Melanie, Kada, Anaya, and Trinity. They were so in it from day one with their day one men. that it completely blew out the entire purpose.

9:14They were such a clique to the point that they wanted to boot up anyone that wasn't a part of their clique. And it just wasn't any fun. I don't know. It's no surprise that Trinity and Bryce won. They were my top one from the very beginning because, I mean, who else would we have chosen? I think that when it comes to Kata and Zach, I actually worry very much about Zach's future after the island because he's taking a lot of heat. It was very clear to him and Kata that they were the bottom poor couple. I think like last week and they were very shocked because they've been at the top for like the entirety of the season but the episode before the finale they were voted at the bottom four and Casey and Titi were voted above them and then Zach got in his head and he was crying in the bedroom and Bryce had to approach him and ask him if everything was all right and Zach was like listen I have fears that all of America thinks that Kata's too good for me and I'm sorry Zach that is the truth you've been a piece of shit from day one you've been trying to express to Kata how you wanted to explore bombshells.

10:12And at the same time, it's like he always wants to have his cake and eat it too. He puts this like sprinkle of insecurity in Kata's mind because I think at his core, he knows that she is way too hot for him, way too funny for him, way too cool for him. And I think he has this imposter syndrome almost being with her. And so he tries to plant seeds of insecurity and doubt in her mind so that he can keep her close. Like him saying he wants to explore bombshells or him telling her that he wants to be exclusive but not putting the boyfriend girlfriend label on it when all of his counterparts casey and tt bryce and trinity are in fact telling one another that they want to be exclusive and boyfriend and girlfriend at the villa zach keeps insisting okay that you know i want us to explore the outside land before we can even couple up it's like if you really care for her you would have wanted her to be your girlfriend from the get but i feel like he's so excited to be on the outside and get all the attention of all these women because that's what happens to the love island guys because it's a predominantly female viewed show.

11:06I just, I worry about Zach from his own mental health. And I also worry about Keita because she's going to come out of Villa thinking that her and Zach are so solid and then realizing that they really are nothing of the sort and that all of America doesn't want them to be together. So I just genuinely fear for them. Bryce and Trinity have nothing to say. They're a perfect couple. I was crying. And they won. Of course. Yeah, they got to share the 100 ,000 and Bryce expressed to Trinity on their final date that he loved her and she shared those words back and I was I was genuinely just like so excited for them because it seems to me that their intentions really are very pure and I'm excited to see what they have outside the villa let's see Anaya and Carl the only reason I think Anaya was in the the final four was because people were really frustrated with her the entire season I think that they were frustrated that she was not able to see Casey's intentions and how she was the one that decided to stay with him even though he brought TT back from Klasa more people were very frustrated with Anaya and I think that the only reason that she ended up being in the final four was because of carl because he was this like knight in shining armor her prince he's like this half asian very sweet down-to-earth kind of normal guy who i think he had like less than 2 000 followers coming into the villa he just seems very normal and i think a lot of the audience is able to identify with carl and see them as like their friend or their brother or whatever it may be so i feel like it's not that anaya people wanted anaya to stay they wanted carl to stay and then by proxy her uh let's see who's the other what's the other couple, oh, Melanie and Sincere.

12:31Don't get me started. Sincere is such a whack job. And I just, he's so insincere. And I think that Melanie, I also worry about because I think she's a queen. She has been such a standup woman to her fellow Islanders, particularly the women when they've been really in doubt. She's been there to kind of lift them up and tell them that they're worth it and they're not deserving of these men that treat them so poorly. But she doesn't kind of bring that same advice to herself. And I could tell she's so in love with Sincere. And I think he really does love her too or have sincere feelings for her but i think he's going to have a wandering eye no matter what when they leave the villa and it's really funny because all these brands were out here saying melanie if you like jet blue melanie if you leave sincere we're going to give you a free vacation melanie if you leave sincere we're going to send you free base luggage like all these brands were using them as part of her as part of their campaign for clicks and it was kind of working because no one watching wanted them to be together and she's the only one that can't see it.

13:24But at the same time, like, she's young. She's allowed to make mistakes. She has feelings for him. Like, I hope they go the distance, but I hate him. I just want the best for her. You know what's interesting is that when I remember when we were watching, it was early on in the season when we watched one episode six or something. It was so early. Yeah, yeah. It was very early on. And you said that Melanie was like maybe the hudda of the season because she was a little unhinged. And now it seems like not at all that she is actually very sweet and, you know, not like Hutta at all. But what I think is interesting is that I feel like this season, from what I've seen, again, I haven't been watching, but I've been like tapped in on like all that.

14:05I'm proud of you. I feel like there hasn't been like a villain. And that is the reason maybe why this season, I feel like it hasn't had like the same like cultural moment that the past like two seasons have had. Yeah. Like it hasn't really captured the zeitgeist in the same way. It's like, yeah, cool. Okay, so these four couples all stayed together the entire time and there wasn't really an unhinged villain or any sort of like real drama. Yes, I think that's entirely accurate. I think the closest thing to a villain was sincere. But like at the same time, we're crucifying sincere for exploring, which is what I'm hating all the women for not doing.

14:42So I'm kind of being a little hypocritical now that I'm thinking about it. Well, he was lying. is the problem. Yes, I was going to say. Is that he wasn't being honest. Right. The thing that was sincere is not that he was exploring that was bad. Yeah. It was the fact that he was telling Melanie one thing and telling the other women the exact same thing. So he was playing the field 100%. But yeah, you're absolutely right. I feel like Huda was so honestly disconcerting and psychologically unwell. I don't think she was even fit enough to be on the island last year. But unfortunately, that makes for very compelling TV.

15:09When it comes to season six, I think that was such a magical season because every single cast member was so willing to explore regardless. And I think Kenzie got a lot of hate for exploring a lot of men at the villa. But I think at the end of the day, she was kind of doing Love Island right. And I didn't disagree with her when she was kind of defending herself and saying, you know, here I am kissing these multiple men. Dylan's crying about it. But to me, a kiss is like a handshake at this villa. And I kind of have to agree with her. I think that she was, I think that unlike Sincere, she was exploring other men, kissing them.

15:41But she wasn't telling them the same things that she was telling Dylan. I felt like at the end of the day, she kept assuring Dylan, yes, I did kiss Gaul. And yes, I wanted to explore it. But yes, I want to stay here with you. Sincere has been the exact opposite. So I don't know. I think with this season, I think we would be remiss to not bring up the executive producer who did pass at the beginning of the season. What's his name? James Barker. So he unexpectedly passed at a very young age. He was only 40 years old. And I think people were saying, you know, you guys are giving so much shit to this season.

16:11But they did have a very tragic death to a really key player in production behind the scenes. So who's to say how that didn't impact, like, how the season played out in terms of just not having it be as juicy. The challenges weren't as good. They didn't have nearly as many bombshells as they typically do. I feel like also, like, last season there were so many, like, viral quotes. Like, my dream date cute or mamacita. Like, what was a viral, like, moment or quote from this season other than Sol's mama happy? be that honestly sophie that's the only one like i can't think of a single soul's impact honestly i love soul but um i can't think of like a single like viral moment or i don't know yeah let us know you guys did you think that love island was juicy or boring this season um are you with me that it didn't really have the same like cultural impact that past seasons past seasons have had Let us know.

17:07What do you think? The only thing I will say is once the season wrapped and they're like, all right, try Bryson Trinity, you won, you know, ending credits rolled. I literally out loud was like, thank God. Like, I'm so sick of this season. I literally was like, terrible. Ryan Bailey, trigger warning said the same thing. I fast worded. He was like, I was running. He was like, I was running on fumes at the end. Like, it's so exhausting because it's like so many episodes too. Like, there's so much. If you miss, like, you know, if you go on vacation and you don't watch TV on vacation, you are fully behind, like, seven episodes.

17:39Yeah. There is, I count it, there's 35 episodes, and that includes After Sign. That's insane. In a six-week time period. That's too much. It's too much. I'm sorry. Too much. Okay, I really need to hear your thoughts on Taylor Swift's wedding. I know you were out last week, but people were begging for your opinion. So I'm just going to hand the floor over to you. So, I don't know. I know that this is kind of like old news at this point, obviously, but like Christy said, I was out of office, so I have been kind of busting at the seams to talk about this. And I talked about it a little bit with trigger warning Ryan Bailey on Pop Culture Monday.

18:15But, yeah, I thought it was tacky. I'm sorry. I thought it was really, really, really tacky. Obviously, we don't know some of the details coming out that there was a buffet that most people had to stand during the ceremony. These could all be rumors, but if those are true, that is incredibly disappointing. You're a billionaire. Why do you not have enough seating for your 1 ,000 guests? Why are you serving food via buffet? Not that there's anything wrong with a buffet, but if you're having a black tie fancy wedding, you expect table service for a black tie wedding. I'm sorry. No, I agree. That's far on.

18:50And then having the just TNT married like a pope was just announced, like that was so embarrassing and nothing about this. And I get it. I completely understand the whole like, yeah, but like drones and like she wouldn't be able to get married anywhere because look at her Juju Smith Schuster's wedding last weekend, how there were drone photos of her. Right. Absolutely. But announcing that you were just married via Madison Square Garden's huge billboard sign does not give, oh, I just want privacy. It doesn't. Did you think that just TNT, was that a nod to AT &T, some kind of like marketing? No, no, no, no.

19:30I think it was just TNT, Taylor and Travis. Yeah, just TNT. No, I don't think it was anything to do with like marketing or anything. No, I didn't even think of that. I think it was just poorly. I think they could have done better with the just TNT married. And the fact that every celebrity that she had ever met was there, like Hugh Grant, Beck, Brad Pitt, like, what are you doing? Nothing about this. I just feel like Taylor tries so hard. And I say this as someone that doesn't, I don't fundamentally dislike Taylor at all. I know life of a showgirl kind of gave me the ick, and I feel like this further gave me the ick a little bit.

20:06But I feel like, you know, she tries so hard to be like kind of cool or not that she tries hard to be cool but like I feel like something that she will never be as cool like she's always kind of been this cringy like she's kind of cringy she's a cringy millennial and everything about this wedding that's come out is cringy and it's like this is why you will never be that like cool girl and that's why I think that like the Maddie Healy and Gabriette thing will always sting for her because Gabriette is the definition of like an effortless fool girl. And that is just something that Taylor will never be.

20:40And like, this is exactly why. Like, celebrities these days love an intimate, low-key wedding. That's kind of even like, you could argue Dua Lipa and Callum Turner. Their wedding was not, you know, low-key. It was a big production in Italy. Sure. But it still felt like chic and intimate in its own way. And like, everything about this felt like a Hollywood production. Like there was a raffle. They were giving away Chanel bags. Like it just I don't know. I just don't understand the vision at all. And I also understand that being Taylor Swift comes with so many complications and that there are so many, you know, you know, like you can't get married in secret as Taylor Swift.

21:24And, you know, we could argue that, well, Zendaya and Tom Holland, and I've had these conversations with my friends, too, offline. It's like, well, Zendaya and Tom Holland, as famous as they are, they're not Taylor Swift, you know? Right. Like, she cannot get married secretly or in private. I get it. I totally do. But it's like, this was the way. And then also the fact that it was during, which wasn't her fault, but it was during this horrible heat wave in New York where it was 100 degrees out. You can imagine the security and the policeman that had to stand outside all day in the sun. And then it was 140 degrees in Penn Station because the AC wasn't working in Penn Station.

21:55While, you know, all these people were waiting for their trains to escape for the holiday weekend. It just, everything about it was bad optics, in my opinion. But again, it's like, it is what it is. This obviously was her vision, not my vision. If Taylor and Travis are happy, that's all that matters. I'm just, you know, sharing my thoughts on that. Yeah, I think that when it comes to Taylor, the MSG thing made sense to me. from the security standpoint. I'm like, I get why she decided to choose this venue simply for that. I think to your point, when it comes to Taylor, it's like, you want privacy and you want all these things, but at the same time, you juxtapose that with the way that you operated this event and it was like the most extra thing.

22:37And probably the least private when it comes to guest lists and strictly just volume of people that were there, just the count, the head count of it being like close to a thousand, if not a couple more than a thousand. It's like the least private. So I hear what you're saying. You need to kind of pick one. Like you want privacy. You want security. A hundred percent. I understand that you need to put that probably above all else. But at the same time, then you operate as if it's not private and you're hosting so many people with these raffles and stuff. I get it. It almost seems like a charity event when you do these raffles or it's like the Grammys or the Oscars.

23:09It's not a wedding. It just seems like a production. A production. Yeah. The fact that the Just TNT married sign was what pushed me over the edge. It was like, oh, it's like you're like royalty and you're announcing to the peasants that, you know, something big just happened in the castle. Like, I don't know. And how do you square away the fact that, like, yes, you wanted privacy and intimacy or whatever it is. Every single one of her guests was photographed going into the venue. Nothing about that was private. Like, yeah, the fact that photos of Taylor's dress haven't leaked, that's like the only thing that we, you know, haven't seen.

23:45Yeah, yeah. And I really care about that. Yeah, yeah. It's like I like I said, and I said this before, you're fucking worth two billion dollars. Get a private island somewhere. But, you know, that's I'm sure she has her reasons for choosing not to do that. But I felt like, you know, middle of Manhattan, 4th of July weekend, like, I think that she thinks that she is like America's princess, which to some degree she is. But I don't know. It just it was a lot. It was a lot. Something else that I thought was a little strange and I can't take credit for this. Emily Rose from It's Become Old Thing said this in my group chat with her.

24:19She was like, I thought it was pretty telling that Abigail, her BFF since high school, she was wearing this dress. It looked like it was like from Reformation, which is a very like Reformation is a very nice story. It was Sal Lee, I think. I think. It was some nice designer. It wasn't Reformation, but it was a nice designer. Okay, okay. So if it was Sal, okay, then maybe I take it back. Because Emily was like, she was wearing this Reformation dress, and it was matching with actually another guest at the party. Yeah, I saw that. And Emily was like, I think if it's your best friend, I would hook you up with some couture gown, you know, if you're my bestie from childhood.

24:54Yeah, it was Sal Lee. Yeah, Emily was like, why would she give her, like, that's kind of embarrassing. that Abigail was matching with another guest. Like, Taylor should have hooked up a little bit more for her friend of forever. I also read that, I don't know if this is true, that Selena Gomez, obviously phones were checked in upon arrival, but I guess Selena Gomez was like the only one who was allowed a phone because she knew like Taylor's angles and what photos to kind of take. And like, I don't know if that's true because I feel like the way that Selena was behaving a couple of weeks before that, the week that we were in New York City for our show when she was like teasing Taylor for being at the Knicks game with the Heim sisters or was it the Heim sisters?

25:32Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And she was like, LOL. Selena can be so shady. I remember waking up in Sophie's apartment. So if you go, did you see the news? I was like, no, Selena. I knew you would have a field day with that. I know. I knew Chrissy would have a field day with Selena crashing out on Instagram. Like she always does that shit. Always. I know. She always does. And then obviously like so many headlines came out because again, every guest who was there was photographed. And And then obviously we knew who wasn't invited, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, which was a headline. And the fact that Jack Antonoff was there without Margaret Qualley, which kind of, you know, sparked the rumors that they were separated, which turned out to be true.

26:11And we actually on Patreon did a whole deep dive that is coming out tomorrow about Lena Dunham's fame sick, what she has to say about Jack Antonoff, other juicy tidbits from her book. and then also Jack and Margaret and their relationship and their breakup and how it all comes together at the Drew Starkey rumors. So we talk about that on Patreon. But I just think it's so interesting that every single guest is photographed, but like you want privacy. You want privacy for your wedding dress. Right. I feel like that's it, which is Dior by Jonathan Anderson. And apparently those photos will be released at some point, obviously.

26:46I just don't know when. um so i said this uh a couple weeks ago i said i liked how selena gomez did it where the night of her wedding they people released photos because she knew people had curiosity about it i wish taylor had done that because we're all refreshing our pages at least the swifties myself included we're waiting to see these photos and it's like exactly you want privacy but like you hold you hold this biggest event of the season in the middle of manhattan the middle of the biggest city in the U.S. Yeah. Yeah. I think I'll defend her decision of MSG simply because of security, but I don't disagree with you.

27:21I think that it is a little bit, I don't know if tacky is the right word, but I see where you're coming from with that for sure. I just think she's leaned into her extra-ness since the Aeros tour. I think that, again, when she was with Joe, she was just so, so private. And now I think she's kind of able to be bejeweled and be the shining star that I think she always kind of desired to be when she was with Joe. And almost it's as if she's making up for lost time, it seems. So if that makes Taylor happy, then I'm happy. But I don't disagree with you that the wedding, the more details that we hear about with like the raffle and stuff, I'm just like, Jesus Christ.

27:59It's like my sweet peasants, who wants a Chanel bag? Everyone, like it's a little bit. I can't get past the buffet also, if that's true. And the fact that people, their vows were each 20 minutes, apparently. And it was obviously a very long, heartfelt ceremony in that the majority of people had to stand. I would be fucking pissed standing at a wedding ceremony. For 40 minute vows? And you're at Madison Square. You're in a stadium with how many seats? And I have to fucking stand? I was also wondering, that's kind of gross for your guests to use those restrooms in the stadium. I wonder how they outfitted.

28:35I'm sure there was like, was there like a bridal suite? It was one of the locker rooms? Like, how did they turn Madison Square Garden into something that was wedding appropriate? No, genuinely. Like, logistically, it probably there had to been so much planning, like the level of Aerosmith planning. But I completely agree. I would like to actually understand more of the logistics. Bathrooms, bridal suites. And apparently, she and Travis, like, paid the city of New York for, like, closing down the streets and all that. And it's like, okay, well, we don't care as New Yorkers. It's a fact that you, and I mean, I wasn't in the city.

29:12I don't know how inconvenienced people were, but I could imagine that people who were inconvenienced, obviously trying to get to Penn Station on a holiday weekend in 100 degree heat, they don't care that you paid back the city of New York. Yeah, yeah. Oh, God. Anyway, that's, those are my thoughts. I'm sorry, Swifties. I just, it's been like a rough past few months for me and Taylor between this and Life of a Showgirl. I'm falling out of love with her. Not that I ever was like a diehard Swifty, but like I love several of her albums so, so, so much. And she was like my number one artist on Spotify for like a couple years in a row.

29:52And now I feel like I'm just like, kind of gotten the ick a little bit. Yeah, she's become almost Taylor trademark. When I think of Taylor Swift, I don't think of the girl that used to have tea party at the end of her concerts and met fans and would have these secret sessions. She's become a brand. And I think at some point, I do understand that, but it's not the same Taylor that I feel like I grew up with in high school. You know what I mean? I mean, how could you be? But I hear you. I think that's a fair criticism. And I think that people are kind of at this point in time, it's kind of like a bit of eat the rich mentality.

30:26I think she's definitely a part of that as well. I mean, nothing that I can think of in recent memory gives Marie Antoinette as much as this wedding did. Yeah, a lot of people would agree. And it wasn't her fault there was 100 degree heat. There was a heat wave in New York. Like, obviously not her fault, but like it just added to the bad optics of it all. Right. When people are already a little bit fatigued, I think. And then it's just, it's so in your face. Yeah, exactly. I still love her, but I hear your criticisms and I think that they're all valid. Yeah. Let us know what you guys, I mean, I'm sure that you guys all have shared your thoughts already, but since I was out of office, I would love to hear.

31:04Let us know. People were dying for your opinions. We need Sophie on this damn episode. Like, get Rachel and Christy out of here. Oh, because you guys are reading Swifties. Yeah, me and Rachel were egging each other on, and, like, I get that, you know? I can, like, people are going to say, Christy always changes her tune. Like, I hear the criticisms, and I think, you know, a week out, I don't think what you're saying is incorrect. I still love my girl, and I want her to be happy, but I don't think that anyone would disagree with this take. I didn't. I admittedly did not listen to DT last week. I'm sorry.

31:36Are you offended? No. I honestly, I haven't listened to yours and Olivia's episodes. It's been honestly like such a cluster. I was fully offline. Yeah. And it's been a cluster. I was fully offline. I'm behind on all my podcasts and all my shows. But so you and Rachel loved it. We were fangirling over it. Yeah. I mean, we didn't know as much as we do now. At that point when we recorded, we didn't know about the raffle. The buffet. Yeah. Yeah. The buffet. If you guys can't tell, like I am fully flabbergasted by the buffet. No, I think it's true. No, no, no. I completely I've been to so many weddings in my day and I feel like the majority of them are table service.

32:16Well, buffet is fine. If that's like your, you know, it's not a black tie wedding. It's, you know, a little bit more casual. I've been to plenty of gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous weddings that had buffets. It's the fact that you are having this extravagant, a thousand person black tie wedding. You're going to ask a thousand people to line up at a buffet and wait their turn to get food. Like that's just not like the experience. Yeah, it's not the experience that you expect if you're going to a fancy wedding like this. When I think about like an accounting convention I went to last year in Atlanta, Georgia, and we were at a convention stadium.

32:52And there was like probably over a thousand people congregating. How much of a nightmare that was? Like that's actually what I think about. Like conventions that you go to where you're like in line. It's just not, it's not comfortable. Yeah. You guys already know we're obsessed with the Lola blankets. And a lot of you have thankfully taken our advice and gotten one for yourselves because they're the best. 34:39Your home design should feel like you. And if it doesn't, it's not because you have bad taste. It might just be a budget problem. Well, Wayfair fixes that. This is my sixth apartment in 12 years in New York City, which is crazy to think about. So when you move that much, you become less and less enthusiastic about spending money on new pieces. Of course, I still want my apartment to feel chic and elevated, but knowing it's not my forever home makes it hard to want to splurge. That's why I've turned to Wayfair for home upgrades for over a decade now. I'm obsessed with my latest purchase. It sounds kind of silly, but we were previously throwing our laundry in an open laundry bin that just ended up looking messy and cheap in the corner of our bedroom.

35:15It became an absolute eyesore. So I searched for closed wicker laundry bins on Wayfair that could hide the mess and add like a chic beachy touch to our bedroom. And I found the perfect one for under$100. It seriously was such an upgrade to our bedroom aesthetically and functionally. It's hard to even describe it or put it into words. And it's little purchases like that that can make all the difference in your space. Ready to upgrade your home for way less? Head to Wayfair.com right now to shop all things home and get your space ready for less. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R.com. Wayfair, every style, every home.

35:50The weather has been beautiful lately, which means I'm pretty much always out and about doing things. Errands, workouts, beach days, you name it. And of course, I need clothes that can actually keep up with all of that. That's why I joined Fabletics as a VIP. It completely changed how I shop and refresh my wardrobe when it needs an upgrade. New VIPs unlock major savings on their first purchase, so stocking up on practical, comfortable, and cute pieces doesn't feel like some major splurge. Fabletics pieces feel like ultra luxe activewear you'd expect from those other high-end brands, you know the ones, but without the hefty price tag. These pieces are built to actually last, and I love that for me. My absolute favorite piece I've gotten is the Anywhere Cropped Bra Tank. It's the perfect workout top that I can throw on for a workout or to just record, run errands, go to lunch, everything in between. 37:17Should we talk about, what do you want to talk about next? Summer House? Yes. I, okay, can I just say, I used to listen to Girls Gotta Eat and there was this friend that they always talk about. His name is Bobby Westside. There is some lore with him. He's a founder and CEO of this app called Adonis. And he was married to a fellow fitness instructor named Izzy. And Raina and Ashley would always talk about him. And there's been allegations online that Bobby and reyna are dating ever since he got divorced like he just got married in 2023 they divorced shortly thereafter oh and reyna and him have been spending a lot of time together she's moved back to new york city they always post these photos on their on their grids as if they are together he's been he bothers me so oh has he been hanging out with the summer house people yes is that okay yes i i did see this that people are like is he gonna be on the summer house cast i can't stand him Like, I find him to be so thirsty and performative.

38:15And I just, like, I really turned off of Girls Gotta Eat probably a year ago. I haven't listened for almost a year. I met them when I was in Vegas for a bachelorette party. And Raina was just not, she was just kind of rude. Ashley was very nice. But Raina thought, like, her shit didn't sink. I just don't like them anymore or her. And Bobby Westside just gives me the ick. Like, he's the kind of guy that, like, it's the guy that does, like, the duck lips photo in every Instagram post. You know what I mean? It's just not, it's not the kind of people that you want to hang out with. And it's like, dude, you're, like, pushing 40.

38:46Like, why are you putting duck lips on and, like, trying to be thirsty around the Summer House crew? Like, I really hope he's not on it. Like, I pray to God he's not on it. Meanwhile, half the Summer House crew is 45. No, I know. So maybe actually he's right up. He's actually a perfectly casted member. But I just don't want him with the attention. I don't know anything about him, but if you don't like him, I don't like him. But have you also seen the rumors or people speculating that Remy Bader could be potentially on the cast because she has been spotted with, you know, all the cast? She is not mentally unwell or she is not mentally well enough for reality TV, in my opinion.

39:28I feel like that would be a really, really, really bad. Or it could be amazing to me because she is so unwell. Right. It could be like a hotter situation. Yeah, it could be a hotter situation. But I don't think that's true, honestly. I think that she's from West Hampton originally, so I feel like she is just out in the Hamptons and she's friendly with the cast. You're like influencer circles. So I doubt that's true. But the rumored cast, they usually start filming the weekend of the 4th of July, but I guess they waited for Sierra to come back from Fiji and officially started filming this weekend.

39:58And the rumored cast is Sierra, Mia, KJ, Carl, Lindsay, Kyle, Bailey, Jesse. And I think that's it. Oh, wow. Okay. So, and then, okay, there could be potential other new cast members. We're just obviously not aware of them yet because they haven't been announced. Yeah. Or there could be friend-ofs. But this is like the core cast, apparently, based on, you know, rumors that have been circulating. So what do you think of this cast? I think it's pretty solid. Yeah. I actually am kind of shocked that Sierra is back. Like, for some reason, I thought she wasn't going to be. I don't know why. I thought she would pop in.

40:30Me too. Like, how linds it get this season. And not be like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Not be full-time. But it sounds like she is going to be full-time. And why not, honestly? You know, it's like, Sierra's probably like, it's my time to step into the spotlight. I'm not going to have West. I'm not going to have Amanda. So, yeah. And then, oh, did you see Amanda and West were in Missouri or Montana or whatever it is at his family's farm. So, she went to the farm. for some wedding. Yeah, I did see that. Wes has, say what you want about Wes. This man has a friend on every continent, every city. Getting married.

41:07Getting married. This man is the most popular man I've ever seen in my life. Like he's at a wedding every weekend. Shocking. It's shocking that people choose to hang around him. Right. And how he's officiating like two of the past weddings he's attended. Yeah. That groom and bride, they need to get better friends. And if you want the man who is the most fearful of commitment, biggest fuck boy officiating your wedding. There's no one less qualified. Correct. But why is he, it like makes me question, like, are we the psychos? Why is everyone so obsessed with him? Like, I don't get it. No, he's just at the age.

41:40He's like 31, I think. So he's at the age where everyone's getting married. Like, I've had summers where we've had like 10 weddings in a row. No, right. So it's just, he's at that age. I think that that's very normal. um but yeah i wouldn't say that that makes him anything special let's be honest i know it just it gives me pause that he's officiating so many weddings like that that is crazy that makes me like i agree a hundred percent when you reach a certain age late 20s early 30s you're getting every freaking weekend it seems like why are you officiating so many i've not officiated one let alone two no that's crazy like that's what is he that charismatic are we not seeing something No, I feel like he just...

42:23He's like goofy. I mean, we've seen him on TV. He is charming, unfortunately. Yeah, I know. He is charming and he's social. But like we have seen the real him now. Right, right. Can I really quickly talk about Sierra on Aftersun and how much heat she's getting? Yeah, like what's... I haven't seen any of this. So I've been watching Aftersun because I'm just curious, like how is she as a host? I think that it doesn't come as, I think, I'm not trying to like make it seem like it's super easy. I'd imagine hosting looks seemingly very easy when in fact it's actually incredibly hard. To read off of a teleprompter, to feel engaged, to move your hands, to connect with the people that you're interviewing, it's tough.

43:02And I think that for Ariana, she made it look so seamless and easy because she is a natural host. She's now Emmy nominated. Emmy nominated. Yeah, she deserves that. She 100 % deserves that accolade because Ariana is a talent. I remember watching her on season six, her first time hosting and being like, she's a natural at this. Like, how is she so good? I think with Ciara, she doesn't, it's not as natural. And in the episode before the finale that aired, I think on Saturday, Ciara was talking with Teffy about how she felt for Melanie. Because Melanie's family came to the island and her mother was crying, her sister was crying, urging Melanie, please do not give sincere another chance.

43:41He's going to step out on you. He is not doing you well. he is not the man that you deserve and they were sobbing to melanie being like we don't want to see you like this he's not the one for you and melanie of course is like i hear you but i don't care i want to go back to sincere and sierra was she was like crying for melanie and so was teffy and she was basically saying i know what it's like to you know tell have everyone tell you that this man is not right for you and you're just wanting to hold on because you love them it was like oh my god sierra enough like please enough with like the hearkening back to wes and how much of a fuckboy you were it just it's a little bit it's a tough it's a tough watch okay but i think beyond that i'm kind of just feeling like sierra this enough of this west stuff she's just not a natural host is teffy teffy also not a natural host like really yeah i think that they don't have great chemistry together and people have said mentionings like it seems like sierra doesn't really care for teffy and she's a little bit snippy with her and there's people like i haven't really seen that to be honest but people are kind of putting that together and they even address it Sierra and Tuffy.

44:43And they're like, we hear what you guys are saying that we don't like each other. Oh, people have said that about us, which is so funny. You know what? People will say that, I think, about any two female podcast duo. It's not just us. It's literally every single two women. Anyone. This person doesn't like this person. And I think it's a little bit. Also, like, I feel like if you're a certain level of close, you can be a little sassy with each other and not take it personally. A hundred percent. Like when Sophie always makes fun of my car and like my TV choices, I make fun of Sophie's voice.

45:17Your fuck ass car. No, do you know what? Now my, if you can believe it or not, my fob doesn't work. So now I have to actually physically go to my car and un, do you know how fucking annoying it is, Sophie? You have to like turn a key to unlock your car. Correct. Christy, it's time. It's enough. Sophie looking at me straight in the eye. Hey, would it kill you maybe to upgrade? Ha ha ha. You have a fucking cassette player still. It's time. It's, it's, it actually, it's like, it's not funny anymore. Like. It's not funny. But I think I'm better run this car. I was looking at the house like, oh, I want to add this.

45:50And I was like, I want to, I was like, God, everything is so fucking expensive now. Like, I want to add so many things to my house. And it's like, something's got to give, Nance. You know what I mean? It's taking the budget. It's taking the budget away from the car upgrade. That's, that's exactly right. Oh, priorities. Anyways, what are we talking about? Okay. So Sierra, she's so bothered and she needs to get off of threads. It's every damn episode. She's on threads. Okay, so let me read you something that she posted on June 27th. Quote, you guys need to fucking relax. We filmed for six hours.

46:17Perspectives get left on the cutting room floor. I could psychoanalyze all of Love Island for hours and write a dissertation on Black people, colorism on reality TV. Don't talk to me about how I fail to see any persons of color's perspective or how I need more empathy. I've quite literally lived it. And this went viral. Everyone's like, Sierra, please. I get wanting to clap back. I think she also needs to recognize that the Love Island audience is so massive and so insane, and you will never satisfy everyone. And the more you feed into it, you're just making yourself look bothered. Yeah, exactly.

46:51You're making yourself look bothered, and you just need to not—and it's a learning experience. I'm sure that she's learning as she goes that you will never, ever, ever satisfy the Love Island audience. There is not one person that has been on that show, in my opinion, that has been universally beloved. I'm sure there are still people that don't like Ariana as hosts. It's like you will never satisfy that many people. It's just not possible. It's physically not possible. So, yeah, I feel like it just makes you look bad when you respond. Right. And I think this, coupled with how she was behaving on Summer House and clapping back, I just, sometimes it just feels like, it's just like, Sierra, just please get off threads for a second.

47:31she can do so much by walking away and letting her work speak for itself you've gotten off of summer house or i guess she's back on but you left summer house and one of the most like traumatic seasons for you understandably so you're this guy and your best friend totally betrayed you and you have every right to be upset i think that let your work and you being on carpets with john ham and being at the golden globes and hosting after let that speak for itself you you were like gorgeous cool smart you're a nurse you have everything going for you let that speak for yourself you You don't need to let everyone know how bothered you are.

48:00I just, I want her to know that. But of course, easier said than done. She definitely has a different approach to everything than Ariana did. Because Ariana kind of took the route of you will never hear me say your name ever again. She never brought up, you know, what happened to her, really. She just went on her rocket ship and has all the success now. And like you said, lets it speak for itself. And I think that Sierra is handling it a little bit differently. I don't think, you know, one way is right, one way is wrong. I would probably, if I were her team, I would advise her to, like, just not react on threads and not thread so much because, you know, you have so much goodwill right now and you don't want to chip away at that by saying the wrong thing.

48:42That's a good way to say it, by the way. You have goodwill right now. You're on the high. Let that speak. Yeah, exactly. That would be my advice if I were her team, but she obviously can do whatever she wants. But that's interesting. I hadn't seen any of the, like, after-sun drama. It's just bad. It's really bad. Really? I was thinking, not to toot my own horn, but I'm like, Sophie and I could do this. Like, better. Genuinely. Like, it's not... Because really what they do on Astrosign is it's basically a podcast episode for 30 minutes. They just riff about the episode. And then they come on and bring the dumped Islanders there to interview.

49:16So it's like half podcast, half interview. You and I have better banter, I feel like. Not to toot our own horns, but I think most other podcasts who do this professionally. Is it always two people? I remember Maura Higgins did it at one point. It was just her, right? You know what? I've never watched After Sun in previous seasons, but I think you're right. Maura Higgins, the one, only her, hosted After Sun. It wasn't a dynamic. I feel like if you're going to have two hosts, they need to have, like, good chemistry and good banter. Yeah. Yeah. I'm trying to think of—you said something the other day, and I'm trying to think of it.

49:45It's at the tip of my tongue, and now I forgot. Oh. Was it about Love Island? What? No, no. Wait, okay. You and Olivia did hot takes, and I saw The Carousel, and I have not listened to it. What did you say about Ciara? Oh, no, you're going to have to listen to Patreon. Okay, head on over to Patreon.com. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We talked about Wes, Sierra, Amanda a little bit in some of our hot takes with that situation, but you're going to have to listen to Patreon to know exactly what we said. Sorry. Love that, love that. Plug the page. Nothing makes you appreciate good bedding more than a hot summer night, especially when your air conditioning is broken like ours was recently.

50:18I don't want to talk about it. Having something that's lightweight, breathable, cool, and easy to sleep in, no matter how hot it gets, is so freaking important. That's why I love Quince. It's been my go-to for bedding for so long now with high-quality materials like 100 % European linen and organic cotton. You can literally feel the difference. I love waking up not sweaty. Quince has everything you need to make your bed feel cooler, lighter, and more comfortable for summer. From breathable sheets to linen, shams, and duvet covers in soft, seasonal colors, relaxed stripes, and timeless neutrals.

50:47My absolute favorite is their 100 % organic cotton percale sheets and duvet cover. The material is so crisp and comfy and even has a cooling effect, which is obviously perfect for those hot summer nights. I also love the look of it. It's a soft gray gingham and just has this classic look that instantly elevates our bedroom. And I love knowing that we're sleeping on 100 % cotton and not some cheap polyester blend. I also love their mulberry silk pillowcases and eye masks. They help keep your hair smooth and skin hydrated overnight because they don't absorb your natural oils like other materials do.

51:18Quinn's bedding is made for literal beauty sleep, you guys. And in case you need a reminder, everything at Quince is 50 to 80 % less than similar brands because they work directly with ethical manufacturers and cut out the middleman. So you're paying for quality materials without the luxury markup. Make your summer bedding feel better. Go to Quince.com slash snarkbait for free shipping on your order and 365-day returns. If you're like me, you've loved the Flow Y tank and bra for years. And as of this year, it also comes in a dress and a crop tank. These are made in our buttery soft Nulu fabric. And my favorite part is the built-in bra. It makes it super easy to wear for yoga or honestly as an everyday basic.

52:37You can find Flow Y styles in store or online at lululemon.com. This episode is brought to you by State Farm. Listening to this podcast instead of doom scrolling, smart move. Another smart move? Okay, let's get into LEOs. Okay, I have a couple. Support of coworkers, including my corporate coworkers and then the snark bait team.

53:20You guys have just really been very supportive over the last couple weeks. I very much appreciate it. Beautiful girls, beautiful personalities, beautiful everything. Number two, phone remote operated appliances. So unlike my car where I have to physically go up and unlock the damn door, I recently, not a sponsor, was influenced by an Instagram ad called Oasis Ambient Lighting. If anyone who's listening to the show works for Oasis Ambient Lighting, sponsor us because I love your product so much. It's like this. It's literally ambient lighting. You know, me and Sophie talk about how much we hate overhead lighting.

53:52Like it's fluorescent. It's gross. We don't want it. Never. You remote it from your phone and it basically it's like soft, warm lighting that you put and you put it against your wall so it looks like backlight. It looks like a museum. My house now, the click of a button, my entire house lights up like a museum. Is it like your frat lights? Chrissy had, when I was at her house, she had like the lights behind her TV that reminded me of a frat house. Yes. You can remote. Actually, that's another phone-operated appliance where you can look at the, you can change the color scheme. Sometimes I'm feeling pink.

54:24Sometimes I'm feeling white. Sometimes I'm feeling yellow. Wait, I love this. You're influencing me. Oasis ambient lighting, 100 % obsessed. They have it all over my house. And by the click of a button, all the ambient lights turn on. So this morning, it was dark out when I got up. And boop, everything's on. Love that. So that is my L.E.O. What are yours? What is yours? My L.E.O. is Netflix's Worst Blank Ever series. Have you watched these? Obviously, I've seen them all over. I'm like the, not the F.Y. Oh, my God. So good. So it started with, I think, Worst Roommate Ever was the first one. Yes.

54:57And then Worst Ex Ever. And then the most recent one is Worst Neighbor Ever. And they're so good. Every episode is like a different, it's like a docu-series. Every episode is a different story. And it's just so well done. And so crazy. Like all these crazy stories that I never heard about that, you know, these ultimately end up being true crime stories, basically. Like they really are the worst neighbors ever. You know what? I did hear that Worst Neighbor Ever was like one of the best series right now on Netflix. Oh, it's so good. Yeah. It's so good. I highly recommend it, you guys. I have binged.

55:33I hadn't watched the other ones before. So I binged Worst Neighbor Ever and I was like, I need more. So then I watched the two seasons of Worst Sex Ever. I think there are two seasons. Two seasons of Worst Roommate Ever. And I just flew through them. So, so good. Highly recommend. Speaking of Netflix documentaries, I just watched the Shipwrecked documentary. Oh, my God. So did I. There's so much they left out, though. Dude, so much. I feel like. And honestly, they should have paid tribute more to the victims. I understand that they got that. Yeah. They focused on this couple so much with the baby.

56:03And then it ended on a sex joke about them. I guess they got pregnant with their second on the cruise ship and then it ended. And I was like, wait, what about the 32 people who died? Why are you ending on a sex joke? It was like so disrespectful. No, I know. But it really was fucking crazy what happened because I remember when it happened in 2012. It's about the Costa Concordia cruise ship disaster. Costa Concordia. Yep. Italian cruise ship. Yep. Yes. And I remember in 2012 when this happened, you saw the photos and you saw, obviously, it's really bad. The cruise ship was on its side and all these people died.

56:33You also were like, oh, they're so close to shore. So it's like it didn't seem as scary as it actually was. Like watching it, you're like, oh, my God, these people are literally fighting over lifeboats like the Titanic. Like it was terrifying. Lost electricity, people, you know, falling into the water. I think some of the people that fell from the lifeboats into the water got sucked into the bowels of the ship. Stop. No. And they didn't focus on the victims at all, honestly. They focused on, obviously, this one girl was on the cruise for her mom's birthday, and it's so sad her mom tragically died, and I guess she was with a friend also.

57:12Didn't even mention how the friend died, too. What happened to Louisa? Yeah. Or Lucia? Was it Lucia? Yeah, it's not with an L. See, they didn't even focus on her at all. Yeah, I was wondering the same. I would be so offended if I were a family member of one of the victims watching that. Well, apparently, I think what they didn't focus on was just like the corporate greeting and all. And like they basically shone all the light on the captain who eventually he abandoned ship before the passengers, which is a no-no. You're supposed to go down with the ship. Go down with the fucking ship. When the Coast Guard was like, get back on the ship, you coward.

57:43I was like, yes, I love that Coast Guard. Right. And what they failed to mention was that Costa Concordia was an Italian subsidiary of Carnival Cruise Ship, which is still very much operable today. I did not even know that. Casa Concordia was basically on the fritz, their brand. And so the only way for them to keep the brand alive was to get acquired by an American-based company, which ended up being Carnival Cruise Line. And it's just, it's all just, there's a lot more to this that was not shown to your point. But I feel like that could have been a four-part series. They didn't even mention that.

58:13Like, what the fuck? I know. Yeah. Of course they did, yeah. There's so many critical parts. Honestly, I highly recommend that documentary as a starting point for diving deeper into what actually happened because it really, really, really doesn't cover, you know, nearly enough of what actually happened. But it's still, you know, an interesting watch for sure. I was so annoyed at that couple. The dad, I'm sorry, the fucking dad who was talking about walking ahead of his wife and baby and the wife was carrying the baby. Why are you? So the baby also was like 18 months or something. 15 months. Probably like, you know, 20, 25 pounds.

58:54I don't know how much a 15-month-old weighs. Not, I have enough nephews to know that that is not light. That is not easy to carry around a baby of that age, to run around. She was also like throwing up and he was like, come on. And then he tried to make himself look like the hero at the end. He was the one crying. He was like, I'm just, I, and she was comforting him. He was crying and she was comforting him. No, I know. You know, and just so everyone's clear to Sophie's earlier point, the cruise ship hit a rock. And so it was tilting to the point where it was now on, literally on its side. You can imagine when people are, when it's tilting, it becomes the entire floors become slides.

59:32So they are not only running, it's not flat ground. It's like either sideways, heavy, heavy angle or down. Yeah. So I'm done. Come on. She's literally carrying it. And he was talking about running. yeah she was carrying the baby and he was running ahead it's like no if you're the husband you should be a carrying the child and b making sure that your wife is in front of you and okay how did you get so he was like the lights went off and we got separated it's like how did you let that happen like why were you running ahead of your wife and child like and then he oh my god and then he he said at the end by god's grace we survived or she lived talking about his baby infant daughter.

1:00:09And then the producer goes, you saved her. And he goes. And it's like, no, your wife did. Your wife was the one carrying her. No, and like, no, that's so true. I did think that was a little odd because they were in the lifeboat. And what happened was the lifeboat tilted and they fell off and they had to grab onto the ship and they hoisted themselves back on the ship. Yes. And I'm sure that was incredibly stressful. Of course. Like being in that situation with their infant daughter, obviously incredibly stressful. But yeah, to a point, when they're on the lifeboat and they fell, the wife had the baby strapped to her.

1:00:41The wife had the baby did. Exactly. Like the producer was like, you saved her. And he was like, I did, didn't I? It's like, no, your fucking wife did. I didn't catch. And then at the end, they were talking about like her, you know, the baby having like PTSD. Right, right. It's like, she's won. She's not going to remember this. No, I'm sorry. I know it's like not funny, but like if you guys watch the documentary and see this husband, it'll piss you off too. Right, no. It's literally like the wife was the superhero in this situation. Not the husband. But the husband was acting like he was like, I had to do what I had to do to save my wife and child.

1:01:15And it's like, you didn't do fucking shit. I'm sorry. It was your wife. The wife didn't even correct him. You're right. He was in tears and she was comforting him even though literally the baby was on her back. Yes. Her chest. Yes. No, I didn't catch when she was vomiting. He's like, hurry up. He's like, come on. Turns out she was like very newly pregnant, I guess. No, yeah, yeah, yeah. She was literally having motion sickness only for the damn ship that's tilting 90 degrees. But she was also pregnant. Give her a break. Guys, let us know what you think. I'm done. That guy pissed me off. I'm serious.

1:01:46Hurry up. God. So bad. And he was the one so upset at the end. She was covering him. He had no weight on him. It was her. Yep. He was running ahead. God. I hate that guy. I'm sorry. What they went through obviously was awful. But the wife was the superhero. Give her credit. A hundred percent. And she was so graceful. She barely spoke in that damn doc. It was him. Mouth it off for both of them. Mouth it off. Yeah. By God's grace. Shut up. It's a good doc. But obviously just a really, yeah, really tragic situation. And I just wish that they had focused less on that couple and more on the actual victims.

1:02:24That is the point that we're trying to make here. I wanted at the ending credits them to show all the victims' names. Yeah, same. I had to look it up. I Googled the victims. And the fact that there was a five-year-old girl, five-year-old girl that died. And she was just a footnote, barely mentioned at all. And the fact that, you know what, is really tragic if you looked up, you know, the ages of the victims. Most of them were elderly, which is so sad. Two Americans that died were an elderly couple. And then most, there were obviously some younger folks, some younger crew members. But most of the passengers who died were in their 60s and 70s, which is obviously the oldest was like 80 something.

1:03:05And again, they didn't they didn't focus on this at all. And I would have liked them to focus on, you know, the victims and less about that. That fucking dad. Hurry up. I know. I couldn't with him. OK, so my dark energy object other than that guy. When you pick a restaurant, you like make a reservation and then you go there and it's empty. And you're like, this is so embarrassing that I made a reservation. And also, like, is this restaurant bad? You know what I always find, too? When you go on, like, Resi or Open Table and you go and it's like, okay, I want three people for, like, 7 p.m. And it has all the times available.

1:03:38The slot is open. Yeah. You're like, never mind. No, literally. Never mind. Literally. No, that happened to me in Carousel where I was like, oh, my God, everyone on TikTok recommends this restaurant. It ended up filling up. It ended up being packed. When we got there, we were, like, I guess the first people there. It was, like, 6 p.m. It was called KOM, K-O-M-E, and everyone on TikTok recommended it. It was actually so fucking good. You guys, the best meal we had in Carousel, so I highly recommend it. But when we got there, it was empty. I was like, did I make a mistake? Like, why is no one here?

1:04:09I would question myself, too. I would freak out, especially if, like, you're the one that made the reservation. Yeah, made a reservation. And then I'm like, why did I make a reservation? This is so embarrassing. No, I totally, I completely, completely get that. And that's like a, I mean, like, to make a reservation, the pressure is on. Yeah. It's like, no, I did my research. Trust me on this one. then the entire reservation is open. Yeah, I was like, wow. What do you mean? But then it ended up, like I said, filled up and it was delicious. So if you're in Carousel, go to Comb. Okay, I have two DEOs, one of them not listed.

1:04:38First of all, one DEO is delayed shipping. Like when I'm promised something and then it doesn't arrive until two weeks later, forget about it. I have, that is so funny you say that. I ordered my dad, for all of the siblings, I took the initiative, ordered my dad a Viore waffle tea that actually Henry has it and loves it. And I was like, oh my God, my dad would love this. Ordered it for Father's Day. It just delivered. Yesterday. See, that's not right. That's close. Viore, you guys. I'm sorry. Like, what is your problem? This is my first time. I've been to the Viore store, which is where I got Henry that waffle tea.

1:05:10Right. So I've been to the store, had never ordered online, and will never do it again. Because what do you mean your shipping took a month? No, that's insane. No, no, no. I feel like that's a mistake. You should, I feel like you should, if you paid for shipping, you should get refunded for that for real. I just assumed, I kind of forgot about it. I was like, oh, I'm sure it delivered. And my dad isn't the kind of person that's like, oh, kids, I got the present. He just is an absent-minded dad. So I just assumed he did it. And then when I got the shop, I have the shop app or whatever. Sure, yeah.

1:05:37And I got the notification, oh, your order is about to be picked up by UPS. And I was like, my order from a month ago? Has this been your guys' experience with Viore? Let me know. Yeah, I've never, actually never ordered from Viore ever in my life. That was insane. It makes me never want to order from there. No, I echo that sentiment. I think that is ridiculous. That is so funny you say that, though, because I was like, that's insane. It pisses me off. Second thing is making your bed. It's always a fucking commotion. Like, I don't like that. I don't like making my bed. Oh, my God, it's so worth it.

1:06:11It is. No, the juice is 100 % worth the squeeze. Putting the damn duvet in the damn duvet cover, getting the flat sheet and tucking it. Oh, you mean changing your sheets? Sorry, yes, yes. Sorry, making your bed is much easier. But like when you have freshly fresh whatever sheets. Yes. When you have to redo it. Yeah. Don't talk to me for the rest of the day. No, it's genuine. I'm like panting. Yeah, no, it's a workout. I actually like the duvet cover is one of the hardest things. They need to invent a duvet cover that's easy to put on. And don't tell me that you tried the sushi rule tactic, the YouTube video.

1:06:46I have tried all of them. It's still never easy. I don't care how easy you pretend it is. It's really not that easy. They need to invent something that's easier. I'm sorry. No, I know. And it's like, at this point, we should have figured it out by now. We're taking cars to the moon. All right? When 2026? What are we doing here? I'm done having to figure this out by myself, okay? Yeah. There's 5 million things I got to do during the day. This is the last thing I want to do after a busy day, okay? Oh, absolutely. No, I will never, ever, ever change my sheets after a busy day. It has to be like on a weekend, like first thing, I have all of the energy because it's just not going to happen after a busy...

1:07:24You know it's going to take you hours. No, no, genuinely. People listening to this are like, are you guys fucking serious? No. It's hard. If you're a real one, you'll agree. You know exactly the trials and tribulations when it comes to redoing the sheets. And putting on a new flat sheet just knowing that you're going to kick it off, you know, within two days. I'm still to hurry up. Hurry up. Hurry up. Try to find the log side of the fitted sheet. And then you do it wrong. You do it wrong, and then you have to start. You have to turn it around. Yeah. It's a whole damn thing. It's a whole production.

1:07:57Yeah. It really is. Pisses me off. Yeah. Okay, well, tomorrow on the Patreon, like Sophie said, we're talking about Jack Anshonoff, Lena Dunham's fame stick, how Margaret Qualley and Drew Starkey kind of go into there. It's such a snarkbait coded episode. It really is. This whole scandal is snarkbait coded. Thanks for the baby snarkbait. That message, Justin, told us that. Thursday, we have a very, very, very famous pop star that is touring the globe. You guys know who we're talking about. And yeah, Patreon every Tuesday, Thursday, every episode. 1:09:03Your home design should feel like you.

1:09:39It became an absolute eyesore. So I searched for closed wicker laundry bins on Wafer that can hide the mess and add like a chic beachy touch to our bedroom. And I found the perfect one for under$100. It seriously was such an upgrade to our bedroom, aesthetically and functionally, it's hard to even describe it or put it into words. And it's little purchases like that that can make all the difference in your space. Ready to upgrade your home for way less? Head to Wayfair.com right now to shop all things home and get your space ready for less. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R dot com. Way fair, every style, every home.

1:10:15The weather has been beautiful lately, which means I'm pretty much always out and about doing things. When I signed up as a new VIP with Fabletics, I got 70 to 80 % off everything. It made it super easy to grab multiple matching sets, shorts, tanks, and lounge pieces for summer without overthinking it.

1:10:52And genuinely, you guys, the quality is so good. Fabletics pieces feel like ultra luxe activewear you'd expect from those other high-end brands. You know the ones. But without the hefty price tag. These pieces are built to actually last, and I love that for me. My absolute favorite piece I've gotten is the Anywhere Cropped Bra Tank. It's the perfect workout top that I can throw on for a workout or to just record, run errands, go to lunch, everything in between. I love how easy getting dressed is with Fabletics and how put together I look without having to actually think about it.
